Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Two point nine. Good morning, It's failing a kid. Candice
- 0:03Speaker 1: Lopez is here, producer who is here. We've been counting
- 0:05Speaker 1: down the most haunted places in Texas from number ten
- 0:08Speaker 1: to number one, which will be on Halloween, so number
- 0:10Speaker 1: three today, and this is all based on paranormal researchers
- 0:14Speaker 1: and whatnot in activity that they found at these locations,
- 0:16Speaker 1: and there's been some really good spots, a lot of
- 0:18Speaker 1: them here in our area. Number ten was Old Alton Bridge,
- 0:21Speaker 1: goat Man's Bridge in Denton. Number nine was six Flags
- 0:24Speaker 1: Over Texas. Number eight White Rock Lake. Number seven Baker
- 0:28Speaker 1: Hotel in Mineral Wells. Number six Texas State Capital, very haunted.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Number five was Flagpole Hill. Number four yesterday was Majestic Theater.
- 0:38Speaker 1: And I had so many dms about that. Somebody actually
- 0:43Speaker 1: hit me up and said they were at a concert
- 0:44Speaker 1: one time when the singer stopped and said, I'm sorry,
- 0:48Speaker 1: but I felt like somebody just touched me. What And
- 0:51Speaker 1: they looked around and they were like, that's weird. Is
- 0:54Speaker 1: this place haunted? And everybody in the crowd was like yes,
- 0:59Speaker 1: and they had no idea, but the singer stopped the
- 1:02Speaker 1: concert of the show and felt like somebody touched them
- 1:05Speaker 1: on their shoulder, So that's kind of freaky. Now. Number
- 1:09Speaker 1: three in the most haunted places in Texas is a
- 1:12Speaker 1: place that I've been to and I definitely think is haunted.
- 1:17Speaker 1: Hotel Galvez in Galveston. Yes, yes, there's so many stories
- 1:26Speaker 1: about this place and still to this day, they do
- 1:28Speaker 1: ghost tours and this time of the year it's packed
- 1:31Speaker 1: because of people just wanting to stay there and hopefully
- 1:35Speaker 1: running into a spirit, which is just wild to me
- 1:38Speaker 1: because I don't know who wants to purposely stay somewhere
- 1:41Speaker 1: to see a spirit. Not me. That's just not my style.
- 1:45Speaker 1: But you know what, if that's your thing, that's your thing.
- 1:48Speaker 1: But yeah, Hotel Galvez, I mean, with over a century
- 1:52Speaker 1: of history, you feel like there's got to be some
- 1:54Speaker 1: sort of haunted things that happen. There. Many ghosts. The
- 1:59Speaker 1: one though, that sticks out is the Love Lauren Lady.
- 2:03Speaker 1: They say the Love Lauren Lady, and her name is Audra.
- 2:07Speaker 1: She's the hotel's most infamous ghost. She was twenty five
- 2:12Speaker 1: years old and a bride to be in the mid
- 2:14Speaker 1: nineteen fifties, excited to get married. Now. Audre's husband was
- 2:20Speaker 1: a mariner who often sailed in and out of port
- 2:23Speaker 1: of Galveston, and he would work and he would leave
- 2:25Speaker 1: Audre there at the hotel, and she loved it. She
- 2:28Speaker 1: would stay there till he came back when he was
- 2:31Speaker 1: offshore or whatnot, and she would rent room five oh
- 2:34Speaker 1: one at Hotel Galvez. This is a crazy story. So
- 2:40Speaker 1: they came to her one night and they said this,
- 2:43Speaker 1: you know, this was during a really bad catastrophic storm.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Audre was informed that her fiance ship had capsized and
- 2:51Speaker 1: that he was no longer with us, that all hands
- 2:53Speaker 1: on board were lost, and she obviously freaked out. She
- 2:57Speaker 1: was inconsolable. She overcame, you know, with such emotion and
- 3:01Speaker 1: despair that she took her own life and that was that.
- 3:08Speaker 1: And then, if that's not tragic enough, the groom arrived
- 3:15Speaker 1: at the hotel. He did not pass away, So her
- 3:22Speaker 1: soon to be husband comes back to the hotel excited
- 3:26Speaker 1: to see his bride to be and his fiance and
- 3:28Speaker 1: be like, babe, I survived, and then he finds out
- 3:33Speaker 1: that she's no longer with us, which obviously he was devastated.
- 3:38Speaker 1: Now they say that Audra haunts the fifth floor. That's
- 3:43Speaker 1: her most popular place to be, although she does roam
- 3:46Speaker 1: the hotel in many other areas and whatnot. Some claim
- 3:49Speaker 1: to feel the sudden chill of her spirit, while others
- 3:52Speaker 1: hear the slamming of doors, television's turn on and off
- 3:58Speaker 1: with no X the nation. Lights flicker on this floor,
- 4:02Speaker 1: especially around room five oh one. A housekeeper once reported
- 4:06Speaker 1: a strange light that was emitted from a vacant room
- 4:09Speaker 1: once that they think is her. And this is another
- 4:13Speaker 1: crazy part, is I guess at the hotel the attendants
- 4:16Speaker 1: and the front desk have a hard time. You know,
- 4:20Speaker 1: I'm programming the keys. Oh a lot of time. They'll
- 4:24Speaker 1: program they electronic keys and they'll get up to the
- 4:28Speaker 1: room and they won't work. And they say, especially when
- 4:32Speaker 1: it comes to anywhere that Audra is that she scrambles
- 4:36Speaker 1: the keys or whatever and they and they don't work.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Which isn't that wild? That is wild? Long hotel is beautiful.
- 4:44Speaker 1: It is a beautiful hotel. There's been a lot of
- 4:46Speaker 1: history there, Like think about it. There's been a hurricane
- 4:48Speaker 1: there that you know, unfortunately, took the lives of a
- 4:50Speaker 1: lot of people on Galveston. That hotel was also at
- 4:55Speaker 1: one point, I mean, it was considered the Vegas of
- 4:58Speaker 1: the South oh, Frank Sinatra would go there. There, oh,
- 5:04Speaker 1: gambling there until the nineteen fifties, it was gambling, So
- 5:08Speaker 1: there was at one point, this is another crazy thing.
- 5:10Speaker 1: At one point, Hotel Galvez was the White House. It
- 5:13Speaker 1: was the temporary White House for FDR while they were
- 5:17Speaker 1: doing something to I don't know, the White House, Washington,
- 5:21Speaker 1: d C. He lived there and made that the command center,
- 5:24Speaker 1: no kidding. And then during World War Two it was
- 5:26Speaker 1: also like taken over by the military and the Coastguard
- 5:30Speaker 1: to serve as you know base. Yeah. So there's a
- 5:35Speaker 1: lot of history in that hotel and still if you
- 5:37Speaker 1: go there to this day, they say there are many
- 5:41Speaker 1: spirits that haunt that hotel, and if you look at it,
- 5:44Speaker 1: it looks haunted. When I was there, I never felt
- 5:46Speaker 1: anything or I didn't even know that it was haunted
- 5:49Speaker 1: until I saw a flyer for a ghost tour and
- 5:51Speaker 1: I was like, oh god. Yeah. The only reason I
- 5:54Speaker 1: stayed there is because I was going on a girls
- 5:55Speaker 1: trip to Miami and a hurricane hit Miami and we
- 5:58Speaker 1: were like, well, let's just go down as Alston. Let's
- 6:00Speaker 1: find like the best hotel with the swim up bar.
- 6:03Speaker 1: You know, those vibes but I don't remember anything. You
- 6:05Speaker 1: don't creepy happening. It's also probably because you were too drunk. Yes,
- 6:09Speaker 1: there you go,
