- Daniel: Clint, it's a big week. ⁓ Georgia, Alabama, which means a matchup featuring the best, most dynamic, most ⁓ electric quarterback in the Southeastern Conference. Also, Keelan Russell is playing in the game. He's he's going to be there and he's Clint, he's good. He's a good football player. Clint: Yes. Huge. He's there. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. He is, people. I don't... Daniel: Gunnar Stockton's better than Keelan Russell. You see, we're just gonna lead with the take because we're not sorry about it. We we don't feel the need to hide it at all. You might like Keelan Russell better, but he's not as good as Gunnar Stockton. And if that hurts your feelings, then I don't know, football probably hurts your feelings. You maybe are a two hand touch guy. Clint: prints. No. Don't put it under that basket. You want to see flag football get into the Olympics and you're excited for it. Daniel: Yeah. Noooo Daniel: I'm gonna run through him quickly here because I don't want to belabor the point. Keelan Russell's quarterback rating, 185.6. That's sixth nationally in all of college football. Like we said, he's very good. Gunnar Stockton, 202.2. That's third nationally in all of college football. Keelan Russell's completion percentage, 71.2. Also elite, 13th nationally. Gunner Stockton, 75.2. Clint: Please go ahead, do. This is good. This is important for people. There he could, yeah. Daniel: Point five, that's third nationally in all of college football. Keelan Russell on 132 attempts this year has thrown eleven touchdown passes. Gunnar Stockton on 102 attempts has thrown 13 touchdown passes. Keelan Russell, two interceptions. Gunnar Stockton, one interception. So I don't care what you like. Do you like scoring points? Gunner's better. Do you like not turning the ball over? Gunner's better. Do you like completing passes when you drop back to complete passes? Gunner's better. Do you like overall efficiency and general rating of a quarterback? Gunner's better. What about do you like pushing the ball down the field? Average Average yards per attempt? ⁓ gunners also better. So up and down the board. Clint: Yes. Yep. Daniel: Keelan Russell, by the way, has twenty-four carries for a hundred and sorry, I'm looking at nope, I'm sorry, thirty-seven carries for a hundred and eighty-four yards. That's what he has on the season. Thirty-seven carries for 184 yards. Gunnar Stockton has 20 carries for 122 yards. In case you're not good at math, like I'm sorry, in case you're an Alabama fan. Clint: a lot. Okay. Alabama fan if you're here Daniel: Keelan Russell is averaging five yards a carry and Gunnar Stockton is averaging six point one, which is not remotely close to five. It's a it's a whole nother yard. So he's better at running the football than Keelan Russell is. I I don't know. Like this is he's better at all of it, Clint. Clint: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. All of it. ⁓ Deep ball, Gunner Stockton. Check the seed he dropped in between two defenders on the right sideline to Talon Taylor. The Talon dropped. That would have been a heck of a catch, but it was a incredible throw. It was like watching skill tape. Two. Third down, dig route coming from the right in between two bracket defenders. Unbelievable. Frozen Rope. First down. The route to Dwight Phillips coming out of the backfield on the touchdown that was a touchdown that they took away from him around a defender perfectly timed. Here's what makes him incredible. He did matrix him. He knew him. He is trusting his arm. He is putting the ball in play. He is not trying to go for interceptions, but he's also not shying away from putting the ball in exceptionally exciting positions. Okay. Like sometimes Daniel: Ooh, he just Matrix. Clint: You just go for the powdered donut because it's the easy wing. Sometimes a bear claw is what you need because it's just a little spicier. It just gives you something that the others don't. Okay. And he is bear clawing his way. He's just exciting throws left and right all over the Gunner Stockton, the eye test shows me the command of the offense shows me the decisiveness, the reads, the coming back, even with defenders in his face, being able to step up and absolutely dynamite. This is best game. Daniel: Yeah. Mm. Clint: his entire career and he's got the confidence he's putting the ball where we want him to go instead of just double clutching and looking around and then running. He's going one, two, three, maybe back tuck, go outlet Dwight, we're all here. He's got the full, the number one thing that came across the Vanderbilt game to me. Drive one was Gunner, go show your stuff, go stun on him young man. Go Stetson Bennett them. and Mike Bobo and Kirby Smart trusted him to do so. It was not a typical Kirby opening drive. It was not a typical Mike Bobo opening drive. It was not a typical we got the SEC opponent. They're in here, we trust them. They're bringing pressure from everywhere and we know it. Hey Gunner, we trust you, go do it. This team, Ernest Green said, interview, go to war, there's only one guy I'm gonna go to side by side with and that's Gunner Stockman. No one else in the entire country I'd rather do it to. That. He's eclipsed that and that's what makes him. That's what is extending his excellence above Kaelin Russell. Daniel: Yeah. And by the way, I mean you mentioned it. He's he's layering the ball all three levels. So he's got the short throws, he's got the intermediate throws, he's got the deep down the field throws. So he's doing that well. But it's more than that. He runs the ball incredibly efficiently and effectively. But it's his pocket presence and his pocket awareness, Clint, his ability to diagnose the defense. Vanderbilt was bringing a jailbreak virtually from the jump. Clint: Yes. Daniel: On Saturday. ⁓ Gunnar Stockton's ability to diagnose, assess defenses, and get into the right position, as you mentioned, like a like a bear using his claws to get a honeypot. He is he is ruthless in his efficiency. Gunnar Stockton's been sacked f all of five times through five games this year. ⁓ Keelan Russell. Clint: every play. Yeah. what we're saying. That's what we're saying. Daniel: Has been sacked eight times. I'm just telling you, find me a number that favors Keelan Russell. He's supposed to be this Uber athletic guy. yeah. Gunnar Stockton has only played Western Kentucky, not the powerhouse that is South Carolina and Florida State. Clint: Schedule, schedule, the schedule. Two coaches that are going to be fired because of how bad they have ran their program into the ground. Daniel: no. Clint: He played the eighth best defense in the entire nation. Daniel: You're not that. Keelan Russell's not as good as Gunnar Stockton. Period. Like I don't mean to hype make be hyperbolic. He's not as good at anything. At anything. Clint: or not. I I bet if you asked him to put his knee on the ground from the 50 and throw into the end zone, he'd be able to hit, he could hit the roof on a knee at the 50 throwing towards the end zone, just like Anthony Richardson. I bet he can do that. Daniel: He could hit the roof. ⁓ you understand when you're being compared to Anthony Richardson, Alabama fans, surely even you can read between the lines. It's not a compliment. Clint: He's a thousand times better. I understand and I get it. I really do. But that's the type. He's physically good like that. Playing quarterback? Gunner is better. Daniel: Gunnar's just about a quarterback. And, you know, maybe you've just Alabama fans, maybe you have been tainted like the rest of college football. Because listen, I will fully own where the Gunnar Stockton disrespect originates. It originates with idiotic Georgia fans who are too dumb to recognize when they have an elite quarterback standing right in front of them. And Alabama fans, you ought to know, this has been happening Clint: That's where it comes from. Daniel: For a while now. Do you remember 2021? I bet you do. I bet you do. You had an elite quarterback in that game in 2021. We did not. We had a scrub. Our scrub was the best college quarterback to ever play the game ever. Greatness. Greatness. Okay. ⁓ but Georgia fans couldn't appreciate him. They don't appreciate Gunnar Stockton. But facts are facts. Clint: Long time. You do. You do. Yeah, you did. Yeah, you did. Daniel: Facts do not care about how you feel. The fact is Gunnar Stockton's better than Keelan Russell. And I'm sure you're typing frivolously in the comments right now and letting me know all of the things that Keelan Russell is better at than Gunnar Stockton. I cannot wait to read them.
