- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Well, Beeky's, I tell you what, this is a privilege.
- 0:04[SPEAKER_00]: I have had the privilege of speaking with you, Dr. Beeky before, and I loved that, my wife and I both have really enjoyed that episode.
- 0:11[SPEAKER_00]: Your book, Mrs. Beeky, Mary Beeky, teach them to work is one of my wife's favorite, and so we've referenced that numerous times on our podcast, and so it's a treat to have you on your as well today, especially considering that we're going to be talking marriage.
- 0:25[SPEAKER_00]: And before we dive into marriage, however, I was wondering if you could give yourself a quick introduction for our listeners.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_00]: If they don't know if they don't know a thing, maybe this is the first time.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe they've been living underneath the rock, and they've never been exposed to the wealth of the information that you have shared out to the world.
- 0:45[SPEAKER_00]: Could you introduce yourselves for them?
- 0:48[SPEAKER_02]: Sure, I'll let my friend go first.
- 0:51[SPEAKER_01]: Well, we're told here at B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.B.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_01]: And yeah, I was a nurse, and I was a teacher, and I was a sustainable model, which is all that, and many, many girls.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_00]: I believe him.
- 1:29[SPEAKER_00]: I'm sure there are many hats worn.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, so my main role in addition to continuing to love my queen and children and grandchildren, which is a wonderful part of life.
- 1:46[SPEAKER_02]: is that on the Chancellor of Peer 2020, I'm going to remember this, where in a teachful time, we did get 700 students right now, from 40 countries around the world, so it's a growing institution.
- 2:00[UNKNOWN]: Very rewarding.
- 2:02[SPEAKER_02]: But I also, I'm very involved in the motivation here to post to a big part of my life's work.
- 2:08[SPEAKER_02]: That's my hobby.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_02]: But that is also doing very, very well.
- 2:14[SPEAKER_02]: And now I'll ask her,
- 2:17[SPEAKER_02]: to be formed.
- 2:18[SPEAKER_02]: Communication, government.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_02]: Then, of course, I'm wearing all my life.
- 2:23[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm not wearing both of them.
- 2:24[SPEAKER_02]: Of course, I'm wearing all my life.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_02]: So I'm not wearing both of them.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_00]: Well, yeah.
- 2:29[SPEAKER_00]: And thank you for all the work that you do equipping.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_00]: equipping Christians around the world, you know, in many different ways.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: I know I've been greatly blessed by it.
- 2:37[SPEAKER_00]: So today I want to speak with you about this book, how to build a godly marriage.
- 2:43[SPEAKER_00]: And I love that just in the title, you know, it's implied that that is something it doesn't just happen.
- 2:48[SPEAKER_00]: It has to be built, right?
- 2:49[SPEAKER_00]: Just as we know a home doesn't just happen, right?
- 2:51[SPEAKER_00]: A bridge doesn't just happen.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_00]: of an equality, it's got to be built and I love that proactive approach and so I'm curious when you do submit to God's view of marriage or God's design for marriage, how does that affect practically our daily life?
- 3:09[SPEAKER_00]: You know like what are some ways that that actually changes our daily behavior?
- 3:14[SPEAKER_02]: Well I guess change everything, change your hop,
- 3:22[SPEAKER_02]: if both teams are committed to living a vividly gospel-shaped covenant marriage is commanded in Malachi 2015 and sent forth fear logically in one of the way he feasts five.
- 3:38[SPEAKER_02]: You really have your whole marriage shaped by that.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_02]: I think he didn't text everything in text the way he'd think about these speakers, other than the way he lacked.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_02]: Beginning with this one thought,
- 3:51[SPEAKER_02]: God has number one in his marriage, and a spouse is number two, and I'm number three.
- 3:59[SPEAKER_02]: There are both people function that way, and we believe that we're in my case each other more than themselves, and love each other, supermanessentially, more than any of the human being on earth.
- 4:14[SPEAKER_02]: I think there you have a foundation on knitting.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_02]: I think from the perspective of the life, I think in our today's culture, the whole submission day, the Christchurch model for marriage, it is not politically correct.
- 4:48[SPEAKER_01]: wanted by the culture to when we followed a bit of cold pattern.
- 4:53[SPEAKER_01]: But you're not as the inventor of marriage and a family, and the war we pour ourselves into our marriage and follow his design.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_01]: The happier we'll be, and forgive the nationators, forgive the people in the culture out there.
- 5:09[SPEAKER_01]: Follow God's design.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_01]: And it's not being an intervening position to be sophisticated.
- 5:18[UNKNOWN]: Your husband, you're a team together.
- 5:20[UNKNOWN]: He's the president of the corporation.
- 5:22[SPEAKER_01]: I'm the vice president.
- 5:23[SPEAKER_01]: And to the other, we run our family.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_01]: And it's a beautiful, beautiful design when we follow it, when we're invested in it, we will be blessed.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 5:35[SPEAKER_01]: Can't tell you.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_01]: We really love each other.
- 5:37[SPEAKER_01]: We really do.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_02]: And now, it only allows you to love each other.
- 5:41[SPEAKER_02]: It's pretty easy to treat your wife well as pretty easy for her to be specific in those who are rare or rare situations where you just can't talk things over and come to the meeting.
- 5:56[SPEAKER_00]: Oh, yeah, I mean, that's evident, and I can relate to that.
- 6:00[SPEAKER_00]: I resemble those remarks as well.
- 6:04[SPEAKER_00]: And I was curious, you know, in regards to that, you speak of, and this might seem obvious, but it was really profound in the book.
- 6:11[SPEAKER_00]: You speak about how critical it is to practice kindness.
- 6:15[SPEAKER_00]: in marriage.
- 6:17[SPEAKER_00]: And you would think, well, of course, that's just a human trait.
- 6:20[SPEAKER_00]: But the way you dove into that really, I think showcased how often that's not practiced in marriages.
- 6:27[SPEAKER_00]: And so can you speak to how critical that is in some ways that Christians can work towards practicing kindness?
- 6:35[SPEAKER_02]: on this one because she wrote the book of all kindness and that burden was burning inside it for about seven years, about a time she finished it, so this is her cup of tea.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_02]: I'll tell you what I'm trying to talk to her.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_01]: I kindness is just such a beautiful thing and I always say that if all of scripture is summarized, the law of problems are summarized by the
- 7:04[UNKNOWN]: kindness is an expression of that love, and kindness is just love in everyday clothes.
- 7:11[SPEAKER_01]: And to practice it in the hall is so very, very important.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_01]: And keeping in mind, we don't know that people we live with, other people we seem to take for granted.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_01]: And we need to let it their best.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_01]: We need to let their worst.
- 7:26[SPEAKER_01]: And we are, we have times of being crazy.
- 7:32[SPEAKER_01]: And we know their faults and their quarrels, but that's why the challenge is to be kind to people under your own growth.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_01]: But they are actually the people, we love the most, you know, we treasure them the most.
- 7:47[SPEAKER_01]: And I think one way to encourage ourselves to be kind is to, if we're thinking about being unpacked is to think, okay, what is it?
- 7:58[SPEAKER_01]: What if that person died in an accident today?
- 8:01[SPEAKER_01]: Or what if they got serious to injured?
- 8:05[SPEAKER_01]: We would just be heartbroken.
- 8:07[SPEAKER_01]: So let that automate us to be kind to the people that we live with and just be humble and understanding kindness.
- 8:16[SPEAKER_01]: Oftentimes, like down close, if we're unkind and insulting and probing, then the other person will be that way to install those for one that way, but if we're kind and weak,
- 8:28[SPEAKER_01]: He got the notion to say nice things and to show compliments by the way, he said, like, number one, for a different compliments than that that downloads in the other direction in the positive direction.
- 8:42[SPEAKER_02]: I've never seen any crank here from.
- 8:44[SPEAKER_02]: He said, well, she's talking about it.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_02]: How did that happen?
- 8:47[SPEAKER_02]: Mm-hmm.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_00]: Well, that's true.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_01]: He's the only kind person.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_01]: I wouldn't have married him anymore.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I think kindness begins or, you know, for the moment you're out of bed and morning, I'll treat it with toast and toast or fear of what I could get each other or come to tea and, you know, it's just those small things.
- 9:10[SPEAKER_02]: And in pleasure of serving one another, it's really fun to be kind.
- 9:15[SPEAKER_02]: You know, my wife is very easy to be kind to because she's so kind all the time.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_02]: So the more I do, the further behind it again, that she's just, I don't think she's in, and maybe a world I think everybody loves her.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_00]: Right, on, you mentioned Ephesians 5 being such a foundational passage that we can go to as Christians that talks about marriage and talks about how Christ and the church is, there's that marriage there.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_00]: And I like it all, Paul even kind of goes back and forth, and he's
- 9:53[SPEAKER_00]: He's going to talk about the church and Christ, and he's talking about husbands and wife, and he's going back and forth, and I think even at the end of chapter, I will feel like Paul kind of like castry mind himself, but I'm speaking to you husband and wife, like, you know, I want to speak very practically here, husband and wife, instead of philosophically and theologically about this.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_00]: And I find that helpful because we're married to a person, a human person, and I want to know how to love that person, rather than know about marriage philosophically and know about it theologically.
- 10:22[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm curious for the two of you, you know, you've now been married for, you know, a few decades, which is something, and you've also had the opportunity to minister to a lot of marriages through, you know, pastoral ministry and in person.
- 10:35[SPEAKER_00]: ministry and so what are some ways that couples can look to the individual needs of their spouse but still look big picture this is what God designs for marriage and I guess to be more specific you know when we read marriage books sometimes we say well you know that works for them how's that going to work for me you know what are some principles people can take and then apply it practically to their own marriage by looking to the needs of their own spouse
- 11:01[SPEAKER_02]: But number one had to learn each other's language of love.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_02]: I have to say this way, if I love roses, if I love white love dacies, I don't call up my or roses.
- 11:11[SPEAKER_02]: So I learned about places hurt.
- 11:13[SPEAKER_02]: And that ranges from that in spiritual conversation together to just normal daily conversation.
- 11:21[SPEAKER_02]: Effective listening between the case of skills drawing her out, getting to know her own heart, being her understanding that she is.
- 11:31[SPEAKER_02]: But at the same time, it applies to love that you can learn to the better.
- 11:39[SPEAKER_02]: You need to understand each other, you need to understand what places each other.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_02]: And you aim to please each other, as long as you know, say each other.
- 11:52[SPEAKER_02]: So this, I seem to very quite often actually,
- 12:01[SPEAKER_02]: that I love even the few tiny little faults that you have because if you didn't have those faults, you want to know who you are.
- 12:10[SPEAKER_02]: So actually in order to love the person and that your spouse in your real list, if you don't expect perfection.
- 12:22[SPEAKER_02]: Actually, pieces five will look to the man
- 12:29[SPEAKER_02]: first 25 is Christ's King himself for his church.
- 12:34[SPEAKER_02]: So now there is an 50, 50 year old.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_02]: You have to see it's 100, 100 year old.
- 12:39[SPEAKER_02]: I won't give myself to my wife, 100%.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_02]: Then marriage is also a thing I'm to love her purposefully.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_02]: The next verse says, I'm to wash him on the water with work.
- 12:54[SPEAKER_02]: So every day, in fact, I'm to wash my wife,
- 12:58[SPEAKER_02]: in my children's office for the water of the worker, so that I can be sender on the dear children to God, Lord God, that if I have been married to her, then she could ask you saying to the Lord, because I was married to this man, I was being worked on the word right for eternity.
- 13:19[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 13:20[SPEAKER_02]: That should be our goal.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_02]: That's really my goal, that's really my goal, that's the purpose of marriage.
- 13:25[SPEAKER_02]: into my presentation or at least first before an end day of judgment.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_02]: But then he says, when I was about to wrinkle, so he's saying, you love your wife absolutely, you love her purpose when she also love her real estate.
- 13:41[SPEAKER_02]: Every person is about to wrinkle.
- 13:42[SPEAKER_02]: Like when I always name her form a wedding and it shocked people in the audience, but I want to shut them.
- 13:50[SPEAKER_02]: I say to them, I look at you, man, I say, you know who you're married today, they're very innocent.
- 13:57[SPEAKER_02]: And you're not, you know who you're married today, you're married to sin, you both are false, you both are sins.
- 14:03[UNKNOWN]: There's no other thing.
- 14:04[UNKNOWN]: There's no other thing.
- 14:05[UNKNOWN]: There's no other thing.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_02]: There's no other thing.
- 14:06[SPEAKER_02]: There's no other thing.
- 14:07[SPEAKER_02]: There's no other thing.
- 14:08[SPEAKER_02]: There's no other thing.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_02]: There's no other thing.
- 14:10[SPEAKER_02]: There's no other thing.
- 14:11[SPEAKER_02]: There's no other thing.
- 14:12[SPEAKER_02]: There's no other thing.
- 14:14[SPEAKER_02]: There's no other thing.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_02]: There's no other thing.
- 14:16[SPEAKER_02]: There's no other thing.
- 14:17[SPEAKER_02]: There's no other thing.
- 14:18[SPEAKER_02]: when you sit straight to a longer as your own body.
- 14:21[SPEAKER_02]: So if I get something in my eye, I'm likely to go to the mirror and say, look, you know patience, I'll be with you in three days here.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_02]: No, I get something in my eye, I'm hurting.
- 14:33[SPEAKER_02]: I need to get out.
- 14:35[SPEAKER_02]: So if your wife is hurting, you immediately.
- 14:39[SPEAKER_02]: So how much you care?
- 14:41[SPEAKER_02]: When you sit down, you put your arm around your neck.
- 14:43[UNKNOWN]: Ask your wife for a while, honey.
- 14:45[UNKNOWN]: And you listen to her before you get a solution.
- 14:48[UNKNOWN]: So, that's from a man's perspective.
- 14:51[SPEAKER_02]: That love, in that forful lady, and then doing it constantly, as God does it to us, that's critical.
- 14:59[SPEAKER_02]: And to do that intentionally, purposefully, every day, until it becomes what the Gurukas said, all they have, and treat your wife that way.
- 15:10[SPEAKER_00]: Well, yeah, I mean, what a high calling.
- 15:13[SPEAKER_00]: We had, that's, I hadn't thought of it the fact that like could my wife say or could God say at the end of, you know, our life, that my wife is whole year because, you know, she married me.
- 15:22[SPEAKER_00]: That's, that's crazy to think about.
- 15:26[SPEAKER_00]: In regards to that,
- 15:28[SPEAKER_00]: What, you know, just kind of, what are some things we should look for if we want our spouse, if we want to call our spouse up, and I don't, I mean, my wife is way, wholelier than I am, right?
- 15:38[SPEAKER_00]: Like she is, she is an amazing woman.
- 15:41[SPEAKER_00]: And yet, I feel like she feels called up by me and I feel called up by her.
- 15:46[SPEAKER_00]: How do you have patience for one another, but then also encourage them to grow in their faith so that we're both, you know, like you said, we want God to be number one in our life.
- 15:57[SPEAKER_00]: How do you encourage that in the other person without starting to nag or complain or, you know, be negative, I guess, in any way?
- 16:06[SPEAKER_01]: We'll assume you're on a team.
- 16:09[SPEAKER_01]: We'll help them to first ask God for help.
- 16:15[SPEAKER_01]: who to walk that life that, you know, to be the wife that you're husband and buyers and to be a husband that you're wife respects.
- 16:25[SPEAKER_01]: And so walking close to God is everything and having the word hit in their hearts.
- 16:31[SPEAKER_01]: And just reminding ourselves that that we're sinners and so staying humble and loving each other.
- 16:41[SPEAKER_01]: If we, if we show love to each other.
- 16:44[SPEAKER_01]: then when we have to criticize or, you know, Kurdish, then to be, we're holy, then it'll fall on it.
- 16:51[SPEAKER_01]: I'm very proud as opposed to if we're proud, and if we're always critical, then just won't sit right.
- 16:59[SPEAKER_01]: But we also talk in the book about the Sandwich Principle, like if there's an issue that we have to criticize, you know, when you laid down the slice of bread, and then Paul does his tooth, and he gives the compliments and love first,
- 17:13[SPEAKER_01]: Oh, you're wonderful husband and, and, um, yeah, and then lay down a slice of meat, but work in such long hours, and then I've had them, but they lay down in another slice of bread.
- 17:24[SPEAKER_01]: I really want to, you know, I want to be with you, Warren, so like that, and then he's the sandwich, but it's done a lovely, and peacefully, and you're looking at one little piece
- 17:43[SPEAKER_02]: Well, you know, I also think it in a no business patience is an actual virtue, it falls out of the world and when one person is a mental, you know, the wise man said,
- 17:58[SPEAKER_02]: It's good for two to me to get out of me because one is down down was there to lift him up.
- 18:02[SPEAKER_02]: And that's just a wealth of wise love and marriage when you actually do that.
- 18:08[SPEAKER_02]: So you don't get down beside each other and you both get depressed together.
- 18:13[SPEAKER_02]: No, but I mean, for example, I'm a way to search for a Sunday morning and I'm overwhelmed.
- 18:19[SPEAKER_02]: It kind of be God's mouth piece again.
- 18:21[SPEAKER_02]: And appreciate that, search for riches of the whole console of God.
- 18:27[SPEAKER_02]: for being a Christian number.
- 18:28[SPEAKER_02]: And it gets beyond that.
- 18:29[SPEAKER_02]: And I'm a little bit quieter than usual.
- 18:31[SPEAKER_02]: She might just look at me and say, oh, you've got it again, don't you?
- 18:34[SPEAKER_02]: Then those fears, those overwhelming convictions, I'm sorry for this.
- 18:36[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and then I'll say, yeah, I do.
- 18:38[SPEAKER_02]: But she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she, she,
- 18:54[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know how much you've been able to think forward because of the pain of my arm like that.
- 18:57[SPEAKER_02]: It's just that you'll help you one more time.
- 19:00[SPEAKER_02]: It happened to help you one more time.
- 19:02[SPEAKER_02]: It's just like, it searches through and I just, it takes me out.
- 19:09[SPEAKER_02]: And that's, that's where marriage functions are.
- 19:11[SPEAKER_02]: Well, when you're picking each other up and you don't beat up on each other when you're down, it's just the opposite.
- 19:17[SPEAKER_02]: You can give you help in the end.
- 19:20[SPEAKER_02]: And, um, you know,
- 19:23[SPEAKER_02]: They were just such a beautiful thing when you put down person in your style second.
- 19:30[SPEAKER_00]: What do you think, um, I think a lot of people, a lot of Christians, I should say, I think a lot of Christians have the sentiment to put God first.
- 19:39[SPEAKER_00]: You know, like, no, I don't think many Christians would disagree with that statement.
- 19:42[SPEAKER_00]: You should put God first and then your spouse's second.
- 19:47[SPEAKER_00]: But, you know, as Christians, what might that look like?
- 19:50[SPEAKER_00]: You know, what is this?
- 19:52[SPEAKER_00]: Is this an, an allotment of time?
- 19:55[SPEAKER_00]: You know, we're reporting a, a devoting a certain amount of time to God's word, to prayer.
- 19:59[SPEAKER_00]: Um, are we, you know, meditating on his word or we're communing with them throughout the day?
- 20:04[SPEAKER_00]: Are we thinking of God when we're interacting with our spouse?
- 20:07[SPEAKER_00]: Like what are some, what are some kind of like frameworks we could use to start engaging whether or not we're seeking to please God first or our spouse?
- 20:16[SPEAKER_00]: Because I think I know when I'm trying to please myself versus my wife first, but sometimes, you know, but maybe it's a little bit more vague or ambiguous with pleasing God.
- 20:30[SPEAKER_02]: It is, if yours is calm, it's developing holy habits in life.
- 20:34[SPEAKER_02]: And so, you know, for example, we would be trying to pattern our lives after love, suggestions of the purestness.
- 20:42[SPEAKER_02]: So when you get up in the morning, you know, you have your private devotion separately from each other.
- 20:49[SPEAKER_02]: You have breakfast together, you know,
- 20:56[SPEAKER_02]: I'm free before breakfast.
- 20:58[SPEAKER_02]: She prays after breakfast.
- 21:00[SPEAKER_02]: We'll be the Bible before the closing prayer.
- 21:04[SPEAKER_02]: But then you come back and hold me Haven't been here for the new meal.
- 21:08[SPEAKER_02]: For the evening, you know, Sometimes I'm not delicious.
- 21:11[SPEAKER_02]: Somebody sort of always happened.
- 21:13[SPEAKER_02]: But two or three meals a day.
- 21:15[SPEAKER_02]: Really the Bible each time.
- 21:17[SPEAKER_02]: We're praying, both praying each time.
- 21:22[SPEAKER_02]: But then when you go to bed at night, we don't know how neat is the way she brings one night I pray the next, and that's a sweet sweet type.
- 21:31[SPEAKER_02]: They'll need a little bit framework of prayer and vitality.
- 21:36[SPEAKER_02]: It's not hard to have real meaningful talks about spiritual things, because we also have a family worship type every day.
- 21:44[SPEAKER_02]: Especially out into the summer meal.
- 21:46[SPEAKER_02]: When we were in our family worship type, we got a country to make a chapter,
- 21:51[SPEAKER_02]: that encourages you to talk over the question they asked about to make a takeaway for the scripture.
- 21:57[SPEAKER_02]: That's what the peer does did, and some of the fathers did in their family, in their marriages.
- 22:02[SPEAKER_02]: So, they developed this framework of Holy Communists, and then it comes to the actual that in between those times, you would have a little prayers that dug up during the
- 22:20[SPEAKER_02]: If you might know my life is doing something very important.
- 22:22[SPEAKER_02]: They let me set an instrument for me.
- 22:25[SPEAKER_02]: So I was in here when I was starting up with the metal work, but I wanted to say, well, are you helping me right now?
- 22:30[SPEAKER_02]: Are you with the right now?
- 22:31[SPEAKER_02]: And, you know, you can never need each other in prayer.
- 22:34[SPEAKER_02]: And it's just different to send these occasional holes on King's Prayer is, will flow up to God.
- 22:43[SPEAKER_02]: You have a habitual prayerful lifestyle.
- 22:46[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, of course, there's some connections to this, because you're bringing people all the time that we date and bring with, I don't know, another method doesn't equal.
- 22:55[SPEAKER_02]: So, prayer becomes a natural, natural part of life.
- 23:00[SPEAKER_02]: But if you drop, it'll spawn times of prayer and you just pray for 15 seconds before a meal.
- 23:06[SPEAKER_02]: And then you maybe have a little fair portion of time.
- 23:10[SPEAKER_02]: There's so little religious exercise going up, I'm not saying I do it for a long time, but so little religious exercise going up that you get out of that habit of really honestly seeking God's face.
- 23:22[SPEAKER_02]: So I think this is very important.
- 23:25[SPEAKER_02]: Prayer, real fellowship, one another, get in touch together, spend time alone together, walk, we love to walk together every night, we walk together, then we just talk,
- 23:38[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it's sweet.
- 23:41[SPEAKER_01]: I think that can add to whatever you do you live in light of God and Scripture and eternity.
- 23:49[SPEAKER_01]: So all your decisions are based on that, and that's an awful way of being in prayer and being in the Word throughout the day.
- 23:59[SPEAKER_01]: So that's that way done is guiding you.
- 24:03[SPEAKER_00]: Wow, that's so helpful.
- 24:04[SPEAKER_00]: And I love how you talk about, you know, scheduled prayer, scheduled time in God's Word, doesn't negate spontaneous prayer that will happen.
- 24:14[SPEAKER_00]: It induces more of it.
- 24:15[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that oftentimes, I know from myself, you know, in some of the different cultures I've been a part of with increased unity,
- 24:23[SPEAKER_00]: anything that looked like structured or scheduled or premeditated was seen is not having the maybe the heart that you're supposed to have and being spontaneous.
- 24:33[SPEAKER_00]: And I just love the way you put that.
- 24:36[SPEAKER_00]: No, the more you are scheduled and you show up and you do the thing out of discipline, out of habit, like what you talked about.
- 24:43[SPEAKER_00]: The far more likely you are,
- 24:45[SPEAKER_00]: to do it spontaneously, and your heart will be posture towards that throughout the day.
- 24:49[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that probably applies to our marriage relationship, too.
- 24:52[SPEAKER_00]: You know, if you schedule certain times to write a quick note to your spouse, and you just do it because you're a alarm went off, and you remember to go, you know, write the note, or, you know, you do the same thing.
- 25:03[SPEAKER_00]: You kiss her every time you come home at a habit.
- 25:05[SPEAKER_00]: That doesn't take away the spontaneous times of affection that you show towards your spouse and induces more of it.
- 25:15[SPEAKER_02]: I worry you have like hated my part and I make that same against me.
- 25:20[SPEAKER_02]: So when you're still right up in your own life in the world, God, with your spouse, you started to hide that word in your heart.
- 25:30[SPEAKER_02]: So with times of trouble,
- 25:45[SPEAKER_02]: But I was just crying on to God to help me.
- 25:48[SPEAKER_02]: I just couldn't see my way through.
- 25:51[SPEAKER_02]: Both enemies and crimes were head, same things that were, like you see, like there was no solution.
- 25:59[SPEAKER_02]: And then just so that I was meditating about that and asking God to help me, this text came into my life for me, making that say, who will show us any good?
- 26:09[SPEAKER_02]: And I knew that was from some fore,
- 26:12[SPEAKER_02]: And I preached high to once, 30 years ago, my number of times, that takes for 30 years.
- 26:17[SPEAKER_02]: But then the text was on the same, more of this, that was the way I thought it felt to dance upon us.
- 26:22[SPEAKER_02]: And I remember all this was David, oh yeah, David was being de-trolled by himself, that the enemy was saying, you're done, David.
- 26:30[SPEAKER_02]: And the friends were saying, you're done, David.
- 26:33[SPEAKER_02]: The bigger the answer again is it doesn't answer the privacy just goes straight to God Lower it to God, the way that they cut this upon us Well, right then hold them That text that so much means like the best text to order to get me in the whole Bible But it cannot enter any in the word your whole life See, you don't have those types because you don't think that's crucial categories
- 27:00[SPEAKER_02]: They don't basically happen, so it's also developing a storehouse.
- 27:04[SPEAKER_02]: God's grace in you and text it in that special to you, and that the word God is alive to you, which you put to God and be dead, that's more of life.
- 27:13[SPEAKER_02]: But that is also what the Puritans are after.
- 27:17[SPEAKER_02]: He developed and holy happens.
- 27:20[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, that's just seem so helpful.
- 27:22[SPEAKER_00]: It's just a really helpful thing, you know, is so practical.
- 27:29[SPEAKER_02]: Here's his role, 41 votes.
- 27:32[SPEAKER_02]: I haven't had a take.
- 27:33[SPEAKER_02]: Can you believe that?
- 27:34[SPEAKER_02]: First, one bit of a vote today on how to let it take.
- 27:36[SPEAKER_02]: I don't vote with single one.
- 27:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, anybody that's talking about meditating these days are like new age hippies.
- 27:42[SPEAKER_00]: Now, you know, they're not Christians.
- 27:43[SPEAKER_00]: And so, yeah.
- 27:45[SPEAKER_00]: That's interesting.
- 27:46[SPEAKER_00]: Okay, well, I'm curious as to how, you know, you go through seasons of marriage, you go through stages of marriage, and yet you wanna have this friendship throughout it ideally, right?
- 27:57[SPEAKER_00]: What are some things you can do to continue fostering an even, you know,
- 28:02[SPEAKER_00]: Because it doesn't, again, it doesn't just happen.
- 28:03[SPEAKER_00]: We're building here.
- 28:04[SPEAKER_00]: These things don't happen.
- 28:05[SPEAKER_00]: So how can you do that when it comes to the friendship in marriage?
- 28:08[SPEAKER_00]: How can you foster having a closer and closer friendship?
- 28:11[SPEAKER_01]: Thank you.
- 28:12[SPEAKER_01]: Having your priority relationship be your husband, your wife, and your family.
- 28:21[SPEAKER_01]: That way, you'll see all of you just to some people.
- 28:25[SPEAKER_01]: But I think when marriage is deteriorating,
- 28:31[SPEAKER_01]: they put work as a priority for friends or they grow apart from each other so you know that you can't imagine not telling him or even that happened during the day so you communicate your close, your kind of older ego here, you live together and you think together and you do like together so having that um
- 28:59[SPEAKER_01]: your family as your priority marriage, especially as your priority relationship.
- 29:06[UNKNOWN]: And just always didn't think, okay, okay, I've got to go out and do this.
- 29:11[UNKNOWN]: How does that affect my husband?
- 29:13[SPEAKER_01]: Does it fit in with this schedule?
- 29:15[SPEAKER_01]: You know, it's just considered to consider the other person.
- 29:19[SPEAKER_01]: And also, do fun things together that, that, you know, life is very serious,
- 29:27[SPEAKER_01]: two things that are enjoyable together.
- 29:29[SPEAKER_01]: Eat, walk, you know, we're not much for entertainment.
- 29:34[SPEAKER_01]: So we're going to celebrate the things that we did today, we're about to eat tonight, and that's really very bad.
- 29:41[SPEAKER_01]: But, and then we'll go for a walk later.
- 29:45[SPEAKER_01]: And those are fun things to us.
- 29:46[SPEAKER_01]: I might talk about it to go for a bike ride, too.
- 29:48[SPEAKER_01]: Is it a sit tonight, day out?
- 29:50[SPEAKER_01]: I don't know.
- 29:50[SPEAKER_01]: I'll say that, and I'll count for all of my junk foods with a lot of junk.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 29:54[SPEAKER_01]: So there's a book, there's a book by, I think it's by the plant also, it's called the intimate urge.
- 29:59[SPEAKER_02]: And it's really interesting, they said in more periods of intimacy you'll have in your life.
- 30:06[SPEAKER_02]: So we have a walking intimacy, or you can call it a hot tub into the safe, just chatting them out of, or biking into the safe.
- 30:14[SPEAKER_02]: It should develop these areas of common interest and engage them together.
- 30:19[SPEAKER_02]: You just grow closer and closer.
- 30:22[SPEAKER_02]: There's a parent in the sea, there's a family worship in the sea.
- 30:26[SPEAKER_02]: There's an eating into the sea.
- 30:28[SPEAKER_02]: You know, and what happens in back there is that began as an eating, if I have one to 10, or if I have three or four level, is this stuff doing things that you're at?
- 30:41[SPEAKER_02]: They stop them, they sit to the sea, they become like two shifts passing in the night.
- 30:45[SPEAKER_02]: And you said you're expecting to keep yourself in China.
- 30:48[SPEAKER_02]: Well, you know, it's, it's,
- 30:51[UNKNOWN]: It's relatively easy, especially for non-person people, but even for Christians.
- 30:56[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, I'm overwhelmed, I hear all these kids in the life and kind of pores, or life of the kids, and the main course is whole life into the work.
- 31:07[SPEAKER_02]: And they come to shift, pass it in the night.
- 31:10[SPEAKER_02]: Don't do that.
- 31:11[SPEAKER_02]: Now, but don't, on the other hand, try to force people to be what they're done.
- 31:18[UNKNOWN]: OK?
- 31:22[SPEAKER_02]: Well, I absolutely hate gardens because I am fellowgees and I am sneezing and sniffling and I am eyes on water and I am absolutely visible so I don't think I am very specific.
- 31:37[SPEAKER_02]: I want to get into the garden with you, I will appreciate what you have done by the lead to the boat.
- 31:42[SPEAKER_02]: The boat becomes very interesting to tell you, because I am not going to be able to wait.
- 31:47[SPEAKER_02]: I am going to have a big support in the church.
- 31:49[SPEAKER_02]: I don't think I am going to be able to wait.
- 31:52[SPEAKER_02]: So you don't force each of them, but she knows to fire, I get so much, she's encouraged me and don't actually go away with you.
- 32:02[SPEAKER_00]: Well it's a great example.
- 32:05[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and I love how the allergies is a pretty valid reason to not enjoy being in the garden, right?
- 32:12[SPEAKER_00]: Biking is like, if you can grow an appreciation of something or at least participate to a level where you're not miserable, that is a great way to extend love to your spouse.
- 32:22[SPEAKER_00]: You know, to take interest in something they've got an interest in.
- 32:25[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that's just, like you said, be our heart posture, like we don't need to have this attitude of like, well, I'm not into that, you're into that.
- 32:32[SPEAKER_00]: That's your thing.
- 32:33[SPEAKER_00]: This is my thing, but really pursue that intimacy in as many categories as you can And I like that they use that word intimacy the intimacy of going for a bike ride going for a walk You know enjoying a meal together talking about food That's that's really that's really good and I'm curious
- 33:02[SPEAKER_01]: in the home and just keep up that so that your lives intersect.
- 33:07[SPEAKER_02]: And even if it's when you don't know how to hold it, you will listen so much when you don't do it any.
- 33:13[SPEAKER_02]: Sometimes it's really a train of light, both of my dolls.
- 33:16[SPEAKER_02]: And we will be working over here.
- 33:19[SPEAKER_02]: So be right here to look up your light or something like that.
- 33:22[SPEAKER_02]: And then we said, oh wow, hold on.
- 33:25[UNKNOWN]: It's cold.
- 33:25[SPEAKER_02]: It's cold.
- 33:27[UNKNOWN]: Maybe she just kept our warmth tonight.
- 33:29[SPEAKER_02]: So we don't make a claim.
- 33:32[SPEAKER_02]: We don't come from corner to corner after one.
- 33:35[SPEAKER_02]: And we don't have to go in the middle like one or two.
- 33:38[SPEAKER_02]: But we just, we just would miss that time and we'll just talk in one.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_02]: Wow.
- 33:43[SPEAKER_02]: So, yeah.
- 33:45[SPEAKER_00]: I'm curious as to how you have both, were you both kind of hard workers like that from the get, you know, when you guys are really wed, because, you know, I think you've talked on our previous episode about, you know, really, and you've written about it.
- 34:00[SPEAKER_00]: Mrs. Beakie, you know, just what we're created to work and work is that's a good thing.
- 34:03[SPEAKER_00]: It's a great thing.
- 34:04[SPEAKER_00]: Have you always been aligned in that shared, I guess, hobby or interest or passion?
- 34:12[SPEAKER_01]: He has always been very, very diligent.
- 34:14[SPEAKER_01]: And part of the reason I wrote that book is because I struggle with it as a kid.
- 34:20[SPEAKER_01]: I was not dealing with it.
- 34:21[SPEAKER_01]: I'm embarrassed to say so.
- 34:23[SPEAKER_01]: And I had it with my parents, you know, and there was all the way, you have to work.
- 34:28[SPEAKER_01]: And so I learned to work in other to love it.
- 34:30[SPEAKER_01]: So I was more than that way.
- 34:32[SPEAKER_01]: I was probably born a little bit on the lady's side.
- 34:35[SPEAKER_01]: But you know, I experienced the joy and work in the experience of that.
- 34:40[SPEAKER_01]: accomplishment of it.
- 34:43[SPEAKER_01]: But another reason I wrote a book is because I observed, I loved studying people, and you see all kinds of kids, you're all in a kid that taught, and just observing kids in the church and society, and all kinds of kids out there.
- 34:56[SPEAKER_01]: So, but as far as us, he's the easiest way we're diligent than I am, you can have.
- 35:03[SPEAKER_02]: She gets up on her self sometimes.
- 35:04[SPEAKER_01]: I was a craftsman and that's why I worked late because I didn't get up for what I didn't do during the day.
- 35:09[SPEAKER_02]: She needs up on her self.
- 35:10[SPEAKER_02]: She's a hard worker.
- 35:11[SPEAKER_02]: It was just that I'm a little crazy.
- 35:14[SPEAKER_01]: But if you work on a club with very happy people, I don't know.
- 35:18[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, sure.
- 35:19[SPEAKER_02]: I find it was how my parents got working on it.
- 35:21[SPEAKER_02]: I don't know.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 35:22[SPEAKER_02]: All my mother's sisters are the same way.
- 35:25[SPEAKER_02]: I'm just really helping them out to work at work with a lot of things.
- 35:29[SPEAKER_02]: I want all of that to realize.
- 35:31[SPEAKER_02]: There's one thing I love about breaking.
- 35:33[SPEAKER_02]: if you know, if you're lost until fresh returns and you're worried, but you know, to work hard can be very rewarding but you don't have to, you working hard to put you in a frenzy and then dizzy so that you can enjoy life.
- 35:53[SPEAKER_02]: There's a stigma there like, well, but is it all working, don't play with something like that?
- 35:59[SPEAKER_02]: It's Johnny something, I don't know.
- 36:03[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I know, but for me, my work is so exciting, I love all of this to everything about the ministry, that I don't feel that at all, so I don't think I'm very happy with my kids, I love the ministry, I love the, I tell my students this, every day they're looking at what you, what you must do, what you should do, what you should like, three parts.
- 36:29[SPEAKER_02]: But the real success of life is when you can turn all three of those piles every day into wanting to move like to do piles.
- 36:39[SPEAKER_02]: So the most things I'd like to do, the shit things I'd like to do, the way to do things I'd like to do, and then you're very happy in work.
- 36:49[SPEAKER_02]: But I'm most happy, and she's at my side.
- 36:54[SPEAKER_02]: Right.
- 36:55[SPEAKER_02]: I come home for lunch, for example.
- 36:59[SPEAKER_02]: My art still scares me when I see her.
- 37:01[SPEAKER_02]: I think she's absolutely beautiful.
- 37:02[SPEAKER_02]: I just love to be around her and she's a good coach of food and it's just all her experiences with her are pleasant and so yeah, I'm going to work but by anything else it's just being with her.
- 37:20[SPEAKER_01]: Yeah, we're in history of course right now so but to younger couples
- 37:27[SPEAKER_01]: You know, that balance of making sure you have a family time, too, is very important.
- 37:34[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and we have this emotional need of this childhood to see if I can go all of that.
- 37:40[SPEAKER_02]: We're doing 25 conferences, 30, maybe a year.
- 37:43[SPEAKER_02]: So we're gone like a hundred days a year or so.
- 37:46[SPEAKER_02]: She's usually talking to the women once or twice of these conferences.
- 37:49[SPEAKER_02]: I'm speaking more, but it's just right for her.
- 37:54[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, we enjoy making people thousands of friends around the world and it's exciting, it's wonderful, you just fall.
- 38:02[SPEAKER_02]: So that's a whole big area of our life, probably almost a third of our life, that we have this intimacy and that.
- 38:10[SPEAKER_02]: Many women wouldn't want to go with their husbands, that many places, about areas of people person.
- 38:15[SPEAKER_02]: So it just works out well.
- 38:28[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, and I'm sure that comes easier for some couples than it does for others.
- 38:31[SPEAKER_00]: But it's still just a worthy, it's a worthy investigation, right?
- 38:35[SPEAKER_00]: It's like a treasure hunt.
- 38:36[SPEAKER_00]: You want to go and discover those things.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_00]: That's great.
- 38:40[SPEAKER_00]: I'm curious, now that you've put some time into ministering to other marriages, do you see, like, because I think maybe there's two parts of this question, maybe kind of like more big picture.
- 38:53[SPEAKER_00]: what hindrances are to marriage is growing, you know, are there common things that whether it's selfishness or whether it's, you know, just the wrong theology of marriage, the wrong view of God, the wrong view of a man, and that show up, you know, that really keep marriage is bogged down.
- 39:09[SPEAKER_00]: And then are there practical things that you've seen as well?
- 39:13[SPEAKER_00]: Like when you look over the last 10 or 20 years, are there just practical things that people aren't doing that would be helpful or are there things people are indeed doing that you'd say, hey, just, you know, like 10 out of 10 marriages would benefit from you not doing that.
- 39:29[SPEAKER_00]: You know, from you not watching those shows or reading those books or going to those places, are there some consistent things like that that you've seen?
- 39:39[SPEAKER_02]: Let me just speak about the ideology of that narrative.
- 39:44[SPEAKER_02]: Almost every couple that we've counseled and some of them have counseled, she hasn't, but most are every couple.
- 39:55[SPEAKER_02]: There's a bit of ideology going on in temporary ideology.
- 39:59[SPEAKER_02]: It simply says, I deserve it more.
- 40:02[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah.
- 40:03[SPEAKER_02]: The fault of my marriage is my partner.
- 40:08[SPEAKER_02]: So when people come to the internet or constantly, I immediately say to them, from their gift office, I want to know 12 things about each of you.
- 40:18[SPEAKER_02]: Giving me three things that you think you're strong in marriage, three things where you think you're weak, three things where you think you're as the strong, three things where you think you're as the weak.
- 40:29[SPEAKER_02]: And if they struggle to think of any area where the husband is treated well, they can measure his goals in no time.
- 40:36[SPEAKER_02]: And then they struggled to think of any pulse of big mud up.
- 40:41[SPEAKER_02]: And even me, I think of three houses that they had.
- 40:44[SPEAKER_02]: I know the marriages in T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T.T
- 41:07[SPEAKER_02]: There is about the 29 that they wrote.
- 41:09[SPEAKER_02]: He says this, it's not sure if it is of your way to treat you on the other side of the extreme cases of abuse or something, but it's not sure if your business is to love your wife.
- 41:21[SPEAKER_02]: And the same thing as the person with the way to awareness and respect your husband.
- 41:26[SPEAKER_02]: So this is the problem.
- 41:29[UNKNOWN]: People are fundamentally selfish.
- 41:32[SPEAKER_02]: And they complain about you personally.
- 41:37[SPEAKER_02]: and what you've got to do is you've got to focus on yourself and I'm loving this moment absolutely sacrificially realistic play artistly.
- 41:47[SPEAKER_02]: Never mind how she treats me.
- 41:49[SPEAKER_02]: This is my calling.
- 41:50[SPEAKER_02]: I'm to be like Christ.
- 41:53[SPEAKER_02]: I'm going to come short.
- 41:55[SPEAKER_02]: But that's what he's
- 41:57[SPEAKER_02]: I don't understand that.
- 41:59[SPEAKER_02]: And you mean serious, weird or constant about the calculations of marriage, and the marriage is totally, probably, and broken, where couples didn't have this problem, where we're both people.
- 42:14[SPEAKER_02]: And with fun, they'll love for each other if you want to work with a marriage.
- 42:18[SPEAKER_02]: All of a sudden, marriage can rise dramatically, they just follow what the Bible says.
- 42:26[SPEAKER_00]: I love that litmus test of trying to identify those 12 things of, you know, three things that your spouse is doing really well.
- 42:34[SPEAKER_00]: You know, three things that maybe they could, you know, improve upon three things that you're not doing well and three things that you think, you know, you're doing well on.
- 42:43[SPEAKER_00]: And I'm sure that that is, yeah, everybody's always got the critiques ready to throw those out.
- 42:51[SPEAKER_02]: after I learned that, and I give a few of them a comment or temperature of the marriage.
- 42:58[SPEAKER_02]: I did proceed with the periods of weakness, those 12 periods, and for six areas, the same as just one at a time, one session at a time will work on this one.
- 43:11[SPEAKER_02]: How can we improve this one at an end and we go through all of that?
- 43:15[SPEAKER_02]: But the final thing I'm pushing here is the very important one.
- 43:19[SPEAKER_02]: What is the fundamental problem of bearers that are working well?
- 43:24[SPEAKER_02]: And it's as selfishness and thinking I deserve to go on.
- 43:30[SPEAKER_02]: And when you're a Christian, a real Christian, and you realize that simply you still are.
- 43:37[SPEAKER_02]: Then most of the time, you say, I'm getting better into the deal by my partner, is I get to God today.
- 43:44[SPEAKER_02]: You know, we have a little clock in our bathroom that says, but give their attention to a full clock and just take the best of better editing the deal.
- 43:50[SPEAKER_02]: So that's the one that we have.
- 43:52[SPEAKER_02]: I say, oh, you're affected to be a YouTuber, as she does the opposite.
- 43:57[SPEAKER_02]: And so, which are you about that?
- 43:58[SPEAKER_02]: But that's the one I'm about to get there.
- 44:01[SPEAKER_01]: Okay.
- 44:02[SPEAKER_01]: It's about expectations, too.
- 44:04[SPEAKER_01]: Like if you expect your spouse to meet all your needs, it's not going to happen.
- 44:10[SPEAKER_01]: It's only crazy.
- 44:13[SPEAKER_01]: And it's about, we have to expect to be sacrificing.
- 44:20[SPEAKER_01]: You give, but then you get blessings in return, but it's more of a blessing to give than to receive.
- 44:29[SPEAKER_01]: So by giving and loving and being kind and being unselfish,
- 44:42[SPEAKER_01]: Oh man, I just, I need you to understand, I need love, I need to be poor into, but then do it without arguing or fighting, because it's the Donald Effect, both of you.
- 44:56[SPEAKER_01]: one way or the other thing.
- 44:57[SPEAKER_00]: Well, yeah, that's so encouraging.
- 44:59[SPEAKER_00]: And I love, you know, you even said, Mary, that doing marriage, God's weight can lead to a really happy, like you can be happy in marriage, but it seems like happiness is a byproduct of pursuing obedience, pursuing the Lord, and being obedient, not when you person, and this is just the human truth.
- 45:17[SPEAKER_00]: When we pursue happiness in it of itself, we're usually pretty miserable, right?
- 45:21[SPEAKER_00]: We're not.
- 45:22[SPEAKER_00]: We're not happy, but happiness can be lived out in the Christian life when you're pursuing obedience, and That's a huge gift.
- 45:30[SPEAKER_00]: Well, thank you so much for your time.
- 45:31[SPEAKER_00]: I I want to You know on your time and respect it, but any closing thoughts just to marriages at large You know in the year 2026 Here you know in the United States of America you look at marriages Christian marriages in particular You know, that's who's gonna be listening what are just some closing words of encouragement that you that you would have for them
- 45:51[SPEAKER_02]: My thoughts and words would be lower in the stories of years than what this have eaten.
- 45:56[SPEAKER_02]: If your marriage is out of the downside, that don't just get out of the book, I mean, don't get this book and do we get out of the other chapter by chapter and talk about each chapter?
- 46:08[SPEAKER_02]: But do that without the marriage books as well.
- 46:11[SPEAKER_02]: Couples who go through one or two marriage books they hear and a really good,
- 46:22[UNKNOWN]: a bit, it's so much fun.
- 46:24[SPEAKER_02]: That time is never wasted.
- 46:26[SPEAKER_02]: And then you talk about things.
- 46:27[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, and it's wonderful.
- 46:31[SPEAKER_02]: So there's hope.
- 46:33[SPEAKER_02]: I like to see it this way.
- 46:36[SPEAKER_02]: I ask couples at the beginning of counseling.
- 46:39[SPEAKER_02]: A schedule on the 10, what's the highest your marriage ever was?
- 46:43[SPEAKER_02]: What was it on the money?
- 46:45[SPEAKER_02]: And the most of them will say that I attend.
- 46:48[UNKNOWN]: And then I say to them,
- 46:50[SPEAKER_02]: We can get it back there, if you're just a baby bio, and live a whole life, and we're going to turn to you, we'll take a problem by the roll.
- 47:00[SPEAKER_02]: And we'll get it back there if you're really, if you're really willing to change, really willing to live a little bit.
- 47:07[SPEAKER_02]: Sometimes it's successful, but sometimes people just don't have the will to put front of that other side.
- 47:21[SPEAKER_02]: verses actually, even to his step up, the other way is they said the way to be the most happening is to meet a most holy, because holiness produces happiness, because God has told it, He says to be evil inside the Holy, so the Lord not like we are, they have to hear the Holy will be.
- 47:40[SPEAKER_00]: Hmm.
- 47:41[SPEAKER_02]: It was very detailed.
- 47:42[SPEAKER_00]: Yes.
- 47:43[SPEAKER_02]: How about making it still live for His glory?
- 47:45[SPEAKER_00]: Right.
- 47:46[SPEAKER_00]: Yep.
- 47:50[SPEAKER_01]: Trisha, who's about to get to you, we're all getting older and you know, we're not, you know, look at this good as we used to, and central root.
- 48:04[SPEAKER_01]: And you just grow old gracefully together and kind to each other and I don't, I think it was the deliates and I'm not sure what the percentage is about.
- 48:14[SPEAKER_01]: She said her husband is like, let's say 70% of a guy in 25% you know, that's a good, you know, don't just be 50% down that 20% and hang on, but it focus on 70% and appreciate the good that he is.
- 48:29[SPEAKER_01]: So treating each other with kindness, just kindness goes and just travels the mind on smile and each other, and instead of, you know, I'm so used to, you're taking me, but just get a smile on your face
- 48:43[SPEAKER_01]: and see if you could interest each other.
- 48:45[SPEAKER_02]: Without older people are more leaders and parents will have other young people who are in each other as a better audience.
- 48:53[SPEAKER_02]: So just keep saying to each other every day, I'd love you for the next few days and listen to more.
- 48:59[SPEAKER_00]: nice like it well where's the best way people can find you you know we're in a link this book will link some of the other books of yours that we referenced uh but is there a place you would like to send people in particular where they can find your resources or see that you mentioned speaking at conferences is that is that posted somewhere your schedule and stuff like that um
- 49:20[SPEAKER_02]: And I don't do too much posts that I do, but the best place to build in our age is standing to reference their posts, that form, because all of those I write in most of the publishers, we share it at all, and we're not of it, so it's a best price, how you should be, or you'll see probably 100 or so many titles there.
- 49:47[SPEAKER_02]: you, the servants are a lot that I've heard all your about and I've done with you on your Christian.
- 49:52[UNKNOWN]: Yeah.
- 49:53[SPEAKER_00]: Wow.
- 49:53[SPEAKER_00]: Fantastic.
- 49:55[SPEAKER_00]: Well, thank you both so much.
- 49:56[SPEAKER_00]: We'll be sure to link that down below and yeah, may the Lord continue to bless all the labor you're putting forth and that he would use it for his to further his kingdom as he has you know done thus far in your as his life and just thank you so much for your time that you continue to labor for the for the kingdom, blessings to both of you.
- 50:14[SPEAKER_02]: Thank you for your own extra time with us, and I'll see you in the next one.
