- 0:00Speaker 1: You're listening to the Mark Simone show.
- 0:02Speaker 2: One wr Well, we're looking for Liz Pig all right,
- 0:13Speaker 2: we'll find her. Michael Goodwin's away this week. Let me
- 0:16Speaker 2: just look at the weather because today might be the
- 0:19Speaker 2: most normal day of the week, but there is no
- 0:24Speaker 2: there's no chance of rain. Yeah, it's gonna be in
- 0:27Speaker 2: the eighties. Now it's gonna get it's gonna get rough
- 0:30Speaker 2: this week, so tomorrow it'll be eighty nine. That's not
- 0:34Speaker 2: so bad. Wednesday, you know what, they're actually bringing it
- 0:38Speaker 2: down a little. Wednesday's ninety five, Thursday's ninety nine, Friday
- 0:44Speaker 2: the same. They had it over one hundred before. It's
- 0:47Speaker 2: down to ninety nine. Now fourth of July, which is
- 0:50Speaker 2: a Saturday, it's gonna be Actually they're bringing it down
- 0:54Speaker 2: a little ninety three, So it's possible this heat wave
- 0:57Speaker 2: comes down just a bit. However, there's a good chance
- 1:01Speaker 2: of a thunderstorm in the afternoon and uh yeah, that
- 1:05Speaker 2: could could be a problem on the fourth of July. So,
- 1:09Speaker 2: uh you know, NBC was bought by Comcast years ago.
- 1:14Speaker 2: It's part of this big Comcast empire. Brian Roberts the chairman,
- 1:19Speaker 2: and it's an enormous conglomerate. But they've had enough of NBC. Uh,
- 1:25Speaker 2: they want to get rid of it. So uh now
- 1:28Speaker 2: you're gonna, you're gonna they'll spin it. Of course that
- 1:30Speaker 2: NBC is so big that they want to spin it
- 1:34Speaker 2: off into its own public company. It's a way of
- 1:37Speaker 2: getting rid of it because it's a bad business for Comcasts.
- 1:41Speaker 2: At the time, way back when woh own NBC was
- 1:45Speaker 2: a big deal. You remember when ge was going to
- 1:48Speaker 2: sell NBC. People were all over the place, the billionaires
- 1:51Speaker 2: of the world, the big companies bidding trying to buy NBC.
- 1:57Speaker 2: What a big thing that would be to own the
- 1:59Speaker 2: NBC TV network. Well, now Comcast has had it for years.
- 2:03Speaker 2: They'd like to get it the hell off their books.
- 2:05Speaker 2: It's a it's a dying business. Nobody watches network TV anymore.
- 2:10Speaker 2: All in network television is twenty five million people, the
- 2:14Speaker 2: three networks. That's all they get. Twenty five million. AM
- 2:19Speaker 2: radio gets sixty three million, AMFM gets one hundred and
- 2:23Speaker 2: fifty nine million. So for the networks, they have twenty
- 2:26Speaker 2: five million and NBC's only got about a third of that.
- 2:29Speaker 2: It's a business that's not good, you know. Like here
- 2:34Speaker 2: the Bill Maher gets the Mark Twain Award. That's a
- 2:36Speaker 2: big TV special. It's on Netflix this year. It's not
- 2:41Speaker 2: on the networks, it's not on CBS, it's not on NBC.
- 2:44Speaker 2: It's going to be on Netflix. So it makes more
- 2:46Speaker 2: sense to own something like Netflix. So Comcasts needs to
- 2:49Speaker 2: get rid of NBC. They're separating it into a different company.
- 2:54Speaker 2: They'll make an IPO out of it. They'll spin it
- 2:57Speaker 2: off and they'll sell stock in it. At least get
- 3:01Speaker 2: some money for dumping it. They can't just out now
- 3:04Speaker 2: sell it. Comcasts will continue to own nineteen percent of
- 3:07Speaker 2: the stock, but I'll gradually dump that stock and be
- 3:11Speaker 2: done with NBC. They got rid of MSNBC last year.
- 3:15Speaker 2: They kicked them basically out of the company MSNBC. That's
- 3:19Speaker 2: why they had to change the name to ms Now
- 3:22Speaker 2: it is now a separate company. It's a little company.
- 3:26Speaker 2: In fact, they were thrown out of the Comcast Building
- 3:28Speaker 2: and Rockefeller Center. They now operate out of some little
- 3:33Speaker 2: studios in Times Square. They're looking for space in New Jersey.
- 3:39Speaker 2: And you remember when you used to watch MSNBC, when
- 3:41Speaker 2: they'd cover the news, actual news. They'd cut to the
- 3:45Speaker 2: big correspondence all over the world, the NBC News correspondence.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Now they don't have that resource anymore, so they always
- 3:52Speaker 2: cut to some half assed stringer that they got somewhere,
- 3:56Speaker 2: and that's about it. The Clive Davis funeral is taking
- 4:00Speaker 2: place as we speak, Central Synagogue, Bruce Springsteen, a lot
- 4:07Speaker 2: of artists are there, some expected to perform. Now you know,
- 4:12Speaker 2: of course, about George Soros, the crazy, kooky George Soros.
- 4:16Speaker 2: He is spending a ton of money on the midterms,
- 4:20Speaker 2: a massive amount already. It's already spent one hundred and
- 4:24Speaker 2: three million already and that number could double by the
- 4:31Speaker 2: time the midterms come around. This will be a new
- 4:34Speaker 2: record for Soros. The last record was four years ago.
- 4:39Speaker 2: He spent one hundred and twenty eight million on the midterms.
- 4:42Speaker 2: This one guy one hundred and twenty eight million, so
- 4:46Speaker 2: figure he goes to two hundred million this year. He's
- 4:48Speaker 2: already spent one hundred and three million on the mid terms.
- 4:51Speaker 2: He runs it through these packs of his and distributes
- 4:55Speaker 2: it to democratic and socialists and crazy causes. Sorous is
- 4:59Speaker 2: pretty old, he's old and feeble, and the sun really
- 5:02Speaker 2: runs this. This is Alex Soros, who's forty. The son
- 5:06Speaker 2: is running most of this, So maybe the son is
- 5:09Speaker 2: trying to deliberately break the father's record. But these guys
- 5:13Speaker 2: financing all of this crap. I know it's bad for America.
- 5:17Speaker 2: It hurts America, but that's what these guys want because
- 5:19Speaker 2: they know how to profit off that. The other Soros,
- 5:24Speaker 2: the competitor who may even be bigger is a guy
- 5:27Speaker 2: named Neville Roy Singham. He operates out of China. He's
- 5:31Speaker 2: a Soros, but he moved to China and operates out
- 5:34Speaker 2: of Shanghai and he's protected by the Chinese government and
- 5:38Speaker 2: he's financed by them as well. But we'll get back
- 5:41Speaker 2: to that because the Dustice Department is about to go
- 5:43Speaker 2: after him. But we found Liz Peak. Well, Liz Peak,
- 5:46Speaker 2: how you doing?
- 5:49Speaker 1: Yepe?
- 5:49Speaker 2: We don't hear? Uh, Liz Peak? Are you there? Let
- 5:55Speaker 2: me push it in here, Liz Peak. Do we have
- 5:57Speaker 2: you now?
- 5:58Speaker 1: Yeah, you have me.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Sorry to be joining, I'm good, I'm good. So hey,
- 6:05Speaker 2: we're talking about all these crazy socialists that got elected.
- 6:08Speaker 2: So the people analyzing this say it had nothing to
- 6:11Speaker 2: do with affordability. These young crazy voters, they're really voting
- 6:14Speaker 2: anti Israel. They're voting because they hate Trump so much
- 6:17Speaker 2: and they think the Old Guard wasn't effective against Trump.
- 6:20Speaker 2: What do you think?
- 6:22Speaker 1: I think a lot of truth in that.
- 6:23Speaker 3: And actually yesterday I was thinking, you know, when Trump
- 6:26Speaker 3: is out of it, and if there is peace in
- 6:30Speaker 3: the Middle East and Israel and Palestinians come to some
- 6:36Speaker 3: sort of Israel and Lebanon's sort of martink, all this
- 6:40Speaker 3: goes away.
- 6:40Speaker 1: I mean, it's just like and remember that all these.
- 6:44Speaker 3: Atis groups cycle through causes, right, it's Black Lives Matter,
- 6:48Speaker 3: and then the next thing, you know, it's free Palestine.
- 6:51Speaker 3: I mean, I don't think I don't think they're wetted
- 6:53Speaker 3: to these causes. And I do think yet that that
- 6:57Speaker 3: is the anti Israel thing is the most motivating of
- 7:02Speaker 3: all these issues that are out there, certainly more than
- 7:05Speaker 3: your rent have going up five percent.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Right.
- 7:08Speaker 3: So when you know, back before Mamdani was elected, we
- 7:14Speaker 3: did a forum on getting Republican voters out. You know,
- 7:18Speaker 3: could Republicans have any kind of voice in this election?
- 7:21Speaker 1: The expert at the end of there was no. But
- 7:24Speaker 1: when there was a.
- 7:25Speaker 3: Young activist guy who was on a panel that I
- 7:28Speaker 3: spoke on, and he said, as he as he talked
- 7:31Speaker 3: to people in the street, the number one.
- 7:33Speaker 1: Thing for young old Jews, non Jews.
- 7:36Speaker 3: That drove them to vote for mom Donni was the
- 7:40Speaker 3: Israel question, and I thought that was really pretty stunning,
- 7:43Speaker 3: And obviously it's had a huge impact on the Jewish vote.
- 7:46Speaker 3: Jews seventy historically have voted for Democrats. Now they are
- 7:53Speaker 3: really angry about about this shift to the anti Israel
- 7:59Speaker 3: Democratic Party, but there's a good forty percent of them
- 8:03Speaker 3: young people who voted for Mamdani. So it's really scrambled
- 8:07Speaker 3: traditional voting blocks. The only thing I'd say that makes
- 8:12Speaker 3: me somewhat hopeful. I don't know if you heard Raphael
- 8:15Speaker 3: Warnock yesterday on CNN, but he basically, after all, representing Georgia,
- 8:21Speaker 3: which is a swing state and has a lot of
- 8:24Speaker 3: conservative black voters, he was kind of like, well, you know, I.
- 8:28Speaker 1: Don't think we have to. I don't agree.
- 8:31Speaker 3: Country without borders is not a country, A city without
- 8:35Speaker 3: police is not safe, et cetera. So I do think
- 8:39Speaker 3: you got some solid pushback from, for example, conservative blacks,
- 8:47Speaker 3: and I think you're going to get more pushback from
- 8:49Speaker 3: the Jewish population.
- 8:50Speaker 1: We just haven't seen it yet.
- 8:51Speaker 2: Yeah, we only go a minute left. But what it's caused,
- 8:55Speaker 2: the what normally would have been the mainstream guys like
- 8:57Speaker 2: Schumer or think Pritzker. You wrote about Pritzk. It's causing
- 9:01Speaker 2: these people to act like wacos. Yeah, don't they realize.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Because they're scared. They're scared.
- 9:07Speaker 3: Schumer, I think is really the most abjectly cowardly of
- 9:13Speaker 3: all the Democrats and leadership positions. Right now, he is
- 9:16Speaker 3: the number one elected Jewish representative.
- 9:20Speaker 1: I mean, that's just a fair way of saying it.
- 9:21Speaker 1: And he represents New York.
- 9:23Speaker 3: His problem is that Alexandrio Costo Cortez, a Democratic Socialist,
- 9:28Speaker 3: has her sits on challengeing Schumer to become, you know,
- 9:34Speaker 3: to replace him in the Senate, and right now and
- 9:37Speaker 3: actually over the last year mark, the polling would suggest
- 9:40Speaker 3: that she has a shot of doing that. So Schumer
- 9:43Speaker 3: is terrified of alienating these young anti Israel voters, and
- 9:49Speaker 3: so he has not stood up when there are overt
- 9:52Speaker 3: anti Semitic. Forget anti Israel, the anti Semitism that's come
- 9:57Speaker 3: to light in the Democratic Party is so offensive, but
- 10:01Speaker 3: apparently it no longer offends Chuck Schumer. I mean, I
- 10:04Speaker 3: hope people dump him, frankly, because he's just turned out
- 10:07Speaker 3: to be such an incredible cynical pall, you know, but
- 10:13Speaker 3: shame on him.
- 10:14Speaker 2: Well, hey, we're out of time, but we started late.
- 10:16Speaker 2: We'll have to make up.
- 10:17Speaker 1: For Yeah, I'm so sorry, probably on me.
- 10:20Speaker 2: Thank you, everybody. Go to lizpeak dot com. You can
- 10:22Speaker 2: read a calm and you can read it at the
