- 0:00[Music] welcome to multiple
- 0:03nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and
- 0:07Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to All
- 0:13Things nerdy this might be a silly question but
- 0:20I think it needs to be asked when did 60 frames per second stop being like a
- 0:25Target and it turned to 120 frames a second cuz that feels like what the new
- 0:30thing is everything's 120 frames I think it might have been around the time that
- 0:34they decided that 8K video was what people wanted as well yeah are you
- 0:38talking video games or you talking film I'm talking video games cuz the new Halo
- 0:43infinite is meant to be like 120 frames per second and um oh that's because the
- 0:48that's because the graphics are garbage so it's easy to get up to that many
- 0:51frames a second it's funny when watching the Xbox thing I did notice that the
- 0:58video wasn't the greatest the trees all the mountains just sort of disappeared
- 1:03and then came back type of thing and really that's what you going to sell
- 1:07people of were you tripping were you tripping on LSD at that
- 1:10time no they'll just try like show off like the distance and look at the
- 1:15mountains in the background and then the clouds or something or trees just sort
- 1:19of popped in and out of existence look at them real quickly quickly quickly before they
- 1:24disappear yeah they've come out and said like don't worry about that it's still a
- 1:29work in program and that was the monkeyy decided to show
- 1:35everyone and you know what the internet's like I have no idea at what
- 1:39point anyone decided that any
- 1:42consumer for any media cares about frame rate I remember when this came out a few
- 1:48years ago when Peter Jackson wanted 120 frames for his uh Hobbit movie The
- 1:54Hobbit it's like who whoa who no one no one wants this that was really jarring
- 1:58could could you braid actually even see it I tell you the only I'm I'm convinced
- 2:04that it is better if you're going to watch something in 3D I don't like
- 2:07watching things in 3D so I don't actually care but 100% mm if you're
- 2:12watching a movie in 3D if it's 120 frames it stops that ticking feeling I
- 2:17get in my eyes when the camera moves too fast yeah yeah exactly like I feel like
- 2:22I can't track it like at the normal speed and it does look better cuz I'm
- 2:28going to be honest I'm okay with 30 frames yeah well it looks like a movie 2
- 2:34Australia movies movies look like movies like if if you increase this frame rate
- 2:39they don't look like movies anymore they look like TV just because that's what
- 2:43your brain's used to I just have a feeling we're going to see a lot more of
- 2:47120 frames being the new big thing and I just I don't care and the funny thing is
- 2:53TV only seems like it's higher cuz TV is still 30 frames or 25 frames in in pal
- 2:58regions it's just that they're interlaced so you get every frame twice
- 3:04so it's it's not even 60 frames it just seems like it is so that's doubly the
- 3:10reason why we shouldn't be emulating that now with video games and
- 3:14film this monitor it does 120 hertz which is 120 frames if the computer can
- 3:20do it and I do it like I've done tests
- 3:24where I I can't play all games in 120 frames but if if there's a game that I
- 3:30can play 120 and I'm playing it for a bit and then I switch it back to
- 3:33something lower like 60 I'm like oh God I'm like oh God like
- 3:3960 wow that's what I'm saying yeah like
- 3:42uh Divinity original sin I by default it uh it goes into like a slightly lower
- 3:49res and then 120 frames and it looks great and then I was like I bet I could
- 3:53Max the res if I put the frame rate down and I did it and I was like like it
- 3:58jumps so would you prefer but but is that is that your priority
- 4:04resolution be damned I want this to have no motion I never I wouldn't I wouldn't
- 4:09have said that no but it in this case it actually is because in Divinity you you
- 4:13kind of like Pan the camera around and stuff like that and then the the the
- 4:17jitteriness that I honestly would never have [ __ ] noticed if they hadn't
- 4:22shown me what I was missing like now I can't I guess PRI if you've played it
- 4:28with what feels like absolutely no lag then going back to a slower frame rate
- 4:34must just feel like your controls aren't as sensitive well even my desktop right
- 4:38now everything is in 120 and and the way the mouse cursor moves if I adjust it
- 4:44cuz like I I've done little tests it looks weird to me when I turn it off now
- 4:48which is ridiculous cuz my work laptop is not 120 frames and I don't notice it
- 4:52on that it's only it's literally just this environment now I've gotten used to
- 4:56it it's so weird I have no idea it's just whatever my monitor computer and
- 5:00Xbox aside it's going to be in that's what it is yeah I don't play around with
- 5:05things well I hooked up my Xbox to this TV and it looked like garbage this uh
- 5:10monitor that's why I can't use my Xbox One on this monitor because it doesn't
- 5:16like the the Xbox is 1080p Max because it's one of the original ones yes cuz
- 5:21you you yeah on this screen it does not look good it's all blurry and weird
- 5:27which is I would never would have thought when 1080p came out I was like
- 5:31this is as good as it's going to need to be ever so many pixels I do have a 4k
- 5:37monitor now and I think that's fine and that's all I need I think I might buy
- 5:41like another 4k monitor but I don't see I'm not getting an 8K I just yeah but
- 5:46there a lot of money we always said that back in the day you will
- 5:51eventually yeah and the Xbox series XX comes out yeah I'll just refer you back
- 5:58to when you were perfectly satisfied with a 640x 480 14 inet my CRT that used
- 6:04to click when you change resolution don't you remember my um my
- 6:091080i widescreen CRT that I certainly do the one that got lugged up three
- 6:15flights almost crushed us to death this must have been that like one month in
- 6:22between the phasing out of 43 TVs and the introduction of flat panel TVs where
- 6:29people worked out they wanted WID screen but they hadn't worked out how to not
- 6:33have a picture tube yet but also the LCDs didn't look as good yet well they
- 6:40weren't LCDs they were plasma still yeah that's true cuz remember those that Peri
- 6:45where was plasmas and people were going out and getting like loans for $10,000
- 6:48to get a plasma television and more this this this TV of mine looked beautiful it
- 6:54but it it weighed like honestly I think like 100 like over 100 kilograms I think
- 7:01it was like 120 kilograms oh God it was [ __ ] monster thi it was as thick as
- 7:07it was wide it broke the stand I put had it on for a long time I had to take it
- 7:12off the stand cuz the the stand was starting to like Buckle the thing with
- 7:15CRT is that it was very very kind to lower
- 7:21resolution content that's why I loved about it because you could hook up uh it
- 7:26was the Xbox 360 at the time and it and it that looked gorgeous but then you
- 7:30could also hook up a Nintendo Entertainment System and that looked
- 7:33normal whereas and even DVD cuz this was before Blu-ray but DVD would have sharp
- 7:39on that you know yeah whereas now it looks garbage which is so strange I
- 7:44remember yeah DVD when it first came out again again how could it get better than
- 7:49this yeah why do we we don't need better yeah I I do you reckon they had this
- 7:55conversation when they [ __ ] put sound on film and then
- 8:00like color on a film George Lucas was famously against recolor or not
- 8:06recoloring against colorizing all the old films cuz it would mess with the
- 8:09Artistic integrity George Lucas said that mind you he's only recolored his
- 8:16own films yeah fair enough yeah okay yeah hey Matt remind me we were watching
- 8:22behind the scenes of aliens [ __ ] 10 years ago and they said something about
- 8:29the of film stock they used and regretting having used it do you
- 8:33remember the details of that I know yeah he used
- 8:38some I want to say like silver based
- 8:42paint paint film and so it degraded in a way that made it look really [ __ ]
- 8:47weird which is why there was a whole it was an expensive thing to to do the
- 8:524K uh transfer of it right uh cuz he
- 8:56chose it's like literally like like two films ever got shot on this really fancy
- 9:03film that did not age well did not live up to the hype yeah aliens I'm sure it
- 9:09would have been sold as this is the thing that's going to last forever
- 9:13and I have no idea but anyway yeah no I do remember that cuz I was watching I
- 9:19was watching the Blu-ray version the other the other week and was just
- 9:23thinking how good it looked but then remembered that there was something
- 9:27about yeah they took a lot of time and money to to to fix it I think right well
- 9:31they fixed it yeah well I mean that for that film worth it I guess they'll get
- 9:38enough sales of the Blu-ray uh yeah well I'll definitely buy it one way or
- 9:41another um pretty much from now into
- 9:44Infinity as uh I own it on iTunes I
- 9:49believe how long is that going to last you if there's new yeah I own it on Xbox
- 9:54I stopped worrying about that I used to worry about that a lot and I got annoyed
- 9:59I'm sure we've had conversations on this show about it about me getting annoyed
- 10:03about how they making me re everything I
- 10:07think I'm just accepted it now yeah well I I don't think it happens as much
- 10:12anymore well also I don't I think we don't we don't rewatch old movies as
- 10:17much as we used to no but before it was you had you had VHS then you had the DVD
- 10:22and then you had the like there's more versions of that and then you had
- 10:26Blu-Ray now it's just there a digital version and if you probably go and have
- 10:29look at it it might have new special features that you didn't even know about
- 10:32now yeah also I tend not to collect them now that was a thing there was a very
- 10:37big I mean amongst our group in particular I assume everybody did this
- 10:41you had a DVD collection yeah which was not a thing with
- 10:45VHS which is why it was always funny that they complained oh oh you know
- 10:48Pires eating into DVD sales like we didn't even have [ __ ] DVD sales two
- 10:52years ago yeah they've complained about piracy for a long time and didn't yeah I
- 10:59I'm saying it's right I'm just saying that like this is not like oh we've
- 11:02always had DVD sales and that's never been as big IND survived made us think
- 11:06it was yeah exactly right cuz you're right Matt I mean like I had a couple of
- 11:11VHS I mean I had a lot of VHS tapes but it was [ __ ] I taped off the Telly like I
- 11:16wasn't going out there and buying things I had I had with the wrong film written
- 11:20on them because you taped over everything and then forgot yeah that's
- 11:22right this is not Superman 2 this is some softcore porn film I take
- 11:28offs [ __ ] Diary of a cheerleader how many copies do I need of
- 11:34this but you're right but like Not only was DVD important to have every film
- 11:39because if I wanted to watch [ __ ]
- 11:43Underworld part two yeah I need I did I
- 11:48I needed it instantly but also if you came over my house I needed you to know
- 11:53that I liked [ __ ] Underworld part two is myself the good thing about the DD
- 11:59over the VHS so there was no fast forwarding to get past the trailers you
- 12:02could just hit play and it was there and it was always a good quality like it
- 12:07didn't degrade over the amount of times that you watched it it just degraded
- 12:10when you didn't put it away and it got scratched to the [ __ ] yeah and it
- 12:14degraded once Blu-ray came out and you watched them back going Oh I thought
- 12:17these were perfect they're really not yeah the the bonus features too like I
- 12:23watched a lot of movies with the director's commentary which was another
- 12:27bonus for it I mean cuz that was just marketing that was
- 12:31just here's the reason you should buy a disc instead of renting a tape in some
- 12:36cases they still have it on like iTunes but in a lot of cases you're right it's
- 12:41just missing now which is annoying um that's why there were actually websites
- 12:44where you can download the old director's commentaries that they've
- 12:48abandoned now and I saw there's an interesting case the other day I saw a
- 12:52video this guy on the internet being angry about evil dead right one of one
- 12:56of our favorite films I think all all of us enjoy that film and the DVD version
- 13:02of it is [ __ ] amazing cuz it's got two commentaries exactly and Bruce cble
- 13:07won an award for that commentary because it was hilarious because they point out
- 13:11all the mistakes and they make fun of everything and it's great because um
- 13:14Talbert is is so serious on his commentary and then uh and then Bruce
- 13:19Campbell's like okay well hopefully you listen to that now now hear the truth
- 13:23about what actually happened yeah U there he is standing in the bushes over
- 13:27there you can see stoned during the filming of this scene yeah that's right
- 13:32so they point out all the mistakes and they make and he makes fun of it uh the
- 13:35new releases of Evil Dead they've gone back and fixed all the mistakes no so
- 13:40the commentary makes no sense anymore so they've just removed it so if you buy
- 13:46see I there's such thing as too perfect on Blu-ray you don't have any of that
- 13:50cool [ __ ] I like it when they do that though but like here's this version like
- 13:54they put on the different versions so you can still go back and watch yeah
- 14:00sometimes when they make improvements they're not actually for the worst
- 14:03sometimes who do they think watched Evil Dead and was like I wish it wasn't so
- 14:07janky like that's the [ __ ] point of it exactly a a film like evil dead it's
- 14:13meant to look hookie you're meant to know that that full moon was not behind
- 14:19the cabin every time they pointed the camera at it I think the appeal of Evil
- 14:24Dead was that these kids made that [ __ ] movie with no money and the fact
- 14:29that you can see flaws enhances that because it's like I could do this the
- 14:34appe yes exactly the appeal was they made it and you could too if you had a
- 14:39friends and like smoothed it over and it's like well that's not what it is
- 14:44there is a smooth version of uh Evil Dead it's called The Evil Dead remake
- 14:48watch that I quite like that yeah I do as well it was great rain [ __ ]
- 14:54blood yes [ __ ] hell that was a lot of blood what a movie I wonder watch that
- 14:59again might do that tomorrow saw that at the dendi we did we we saw it together
- 15:05didn't we yeah yeah I couldn't actually that's the first time I've cuz
- 15:09Australia you know kind of didn't show a lot of horror movies in theaters cuz I
- 15:14don't know we didn't have a go and see them we had a different rating system
- 15:18and so a lot basically if if a movie was a little too intense they just wouldn't
- 15:23show it anywhere they just just wouldn't do it but they're dendy they don't give
- 15:26a [ __ ] dendy has no rules so you know in Singapore
- 15:31um Cinemas can't play irrated films and actually doesn't surprise me
- 15:37there's a couple of independent Cinemas that are that are immune to that so they
- 15:43can play filming like but they have to play the cut versions yeah so they can
- 15:48play the film but they have to remove whatever it was that gave it the R
- 15:52rating but the thing so it defeats the point going exactly the thing I'm
- 15:57looking forward to about coming to act back to Australia the most is rock music
- 16:02on the radio because here huh the radio is run by the government and they only
- 16:08play nice music yeah right uh get ready
- 16:13for Triple J where there's a lot of swearing now before remember when they
- 16:18used to give like warnings triple [ __ ] J the warnings are sort of gone
- 16:23now but when the last time I was in the last time I was in Australia just for a
- 16:27holiday visiting family and whatnot I noticed that trip M which was the rock
- 16:32station is now broken up into triem
- 16:35classic rock Aussie rock hard rock
- 16:40rock you can choose amazing I pretend
- 16:44I'm young and I listen to Triple J still but I'm starting to get to the point
- 16:48where they'll have like people interviewing or doing news reports and I
- 16:51don't agree with them anymore I think I've gotten old and I go you're coming
- 16:57out of that very unfair against that you're interviewing especially Triple J
- 17:01because they have a
- 17:03very specific agenda with their yes
- 17:08politics I remember I I never listened to the radio until uh get this was on um
- 17:15Triple M and then I I always used to listen to Triple M and when they cancel
- 17:20get this uh Greg Fleet the comedian was
- 17:25on there and he this is not in the podcast releas of of that episode but he
- 17:30they were just chatting and CG Fleet said something about and unfortunately
- 17:35the show's been cancelled and Craig Fleet said well that just goes to show
- 17:38triple em a bunch of [ __ ] and then it was and then it was
- 17:44like like [ __ ] ACDC just started playing and then he was not there when they got back
- 17:51from the ad break that's funny and and the reason that is funny is because he
- 17:55is correct Triple M cancel get this because it was
- 18:58side and now yeah I know
- 19:04marsland that's a b a week enough of
- 19:10that um can you cheer me up Matt by giving me a bit of an update about what
- 19:14the [ __ ] Amber herd is doing this
- 19:17week apparently she's [ __ ] the bed
- 19:22literally there's an article oh so did you guys did we talk about this [ __ ]
- 19:27about oh God this is literally bit
- 19:31confusing honestly after this I don't know where this Amber Her Johnny Depp
- 19:35story can go that I'll want to even hear about it than I do not want to know this
- 19:40much deta about criticizing where each other has defecated around the house and
- 19:45then but it started it started right so they're like putting up she's like in
- 19:49court and she's like here's a photo this is his [ __ ] breakfast and it's like a
- 19:53glass of scotch and three lines of cocaine and then here's a photo of him
- 19:56after his breakfast and then she they putting up in court photos of him
- 19:59[ __ ] passed out on the floor in his underwear and it's like oh my God what
- 20:03is this yeah and so that's that's the court Johnny Depp living his best life
- 20:08so apparently that's that's what he does most days yeah which is [ __ ]
- 20:12depressing after he's drunk $25,000 worth of wine and then there was a uh
- 20:19his team showed some video of her sister talking about how Amber herd beat the
- 20:25[ __ ] out of her and then the and then they're like if you look at the date
- 20:29stamp this is an occasion where the sister said that Johnny Depp had hit and
- 20:33it's just like oh [ __ ] me this is so gross yeah and yet here I am reading it
- 20:38and now they're uh yes now they're uh apparently discussing um Johnny Depp
- 20:44tried to write Amber herd's name on the floor in Piss uh in response to an
- 20:51argument now I don't know what the argument was about but I have never been
- 20:54so angry at a partner that I've been like you know what
- 20:59and it wasn't just that he decided to piss on the floor to piss her off he was
- 21:02like I'm writing your name in it
- 21:07bit [ __ ] hell and then uh and
- 21:12then apparently she took a in quotes
- 21:16Whopper poop on the couple's bed yeah I love that she goes you wrote my name in
- 21:22piss and he was like you shot in our bed you [ __ ] the bed you took a big [ __ ] on
- 21:27the bed what the [ __ ] is going on I'm just glad I don't live in this
- 21:31house Depp claims that herd or one of her friends left the feces in the bed
- 21:37herd claims it was one of the dogs like what is this court
- 21:41case but is he say like that was way too big to be one of those dogs they have
- 21:46big dogs cuz their dogs are pretty small no no no no they have big dogs don't
- 21:50they no pistol and they got little ones yeah Charlie's bigger than really
- 21:54disappoints me that you know the names of their [ __ ] dogs but he smuggled
- 21:58him into Australia they got in trouble yep I I didn't watch I didn't watch that
- 22:04but I did watch um Natalie from Community Channel doing her parody of
- 22:08that where she just took the exact video of them uh apologizing and I'm doing the
- 22:15air quotes because it was a really forced and uninc apology and pretended
- 22:19like she was their speech writer and had actually prompted them to say all this ridiculous
- 22:25stuff it was very much sorry we got busted M yeah we're leaving and after
- 22:31they did a big [ __ ] on the bed a big [ __ ] on
- 22:37Australia Johnny Depp texted his friend my wife has left a whopp a poo on my bed
- 22:42I'm calling her Amber turd that's a Johnny de texted his
- 22:47friend and then some guy clean up the house so this is after Amber Hood said
- 22:50he pissed her name on the floor they called to testify the cleaner who said
- 22:57it took 12 hours to clean the house but he was quite sure there was no urine
- 23:01there I did not see any signs of urine and I did not smell it as I would have
- 23:05done if someone had urinated around the house what is this no this is a man this
- 23:10is a man who never ever thought he'd have to give expert testimony in a court
- 23:16case and now he is gone I'm going to take this so [ __ ]
- 23:21seriously guys I I think we need to put this to bed I think we need to report on
- 23:26this no further we keep saying that but then it just gets so much like it's
- 23:32funny but it's also it's not funny like God I don't need to know this much about
- 23:35Johnny Depp's life also I don't want to know this about Johnny Depp yeah I also
- 23:39find it weird that some of the stuff that's coming up that's in the case
- 23:43which I find like has sort of nothing to do with the case yeah I know well other
- 23:48than all this scatological info that
- 23:52we're finding out it's just it's just like let's just [ __ ] embarrass each
- 23:57other in public apparently they've got a lot to be embarrassed
- 24:02about we just remember when we were young and we thought Johnny Deb was so
- 24:06cool and now I'm like oh God Johnny what is this yeah I thought he
- 24:13was the coolest yeah I think it's one of the things that he probably was at some
- 24:17stage but then he starts to believe his own hype and you get to a stage where no
- 24:23one tells you no I think yeah he's just so rich and famous that his life is just
- 24:28like it's it's like that whole saying where like if a lion could speak English
- 24:31you still wouldn't understand each other like Johnny Depp's life is just not my
- 24:35life he does not live on the same Planet as me exactly oh and the other thing that I
- 24:40thought was really sad is that apparently the his his side is trying to
- 24:46prove that Amber herd has been talking to his old managers who stole all his
- 24:50money and that a lot of this was an attempt to discredit him so that they
- 24:55couldn't the case against them would yeah be in their favor because they
- 24:59could prove that he was you know like a drunk idiot and then his managers could
- 25:03get away with all the money they pinched cuz that is a thing he did lose a lot of
- 25:07money didn't he he did but that's so so sad that it's just like and he's always
- 25:12admitted he was a drunk idiot yes I mean when him and Winona split she she said
- 25:18she left him because of his [ __ ] drinking habits and to prove that she
- 25:23was incorrect he changed the tattoo that
- 25:25said wiona forever to wo forever
- 25:30so you know I mean this is not a guy with I can see Luke doing something like
- 25:36that this is the funny thing like when you start talking about that I'm not
- 25:39thinking like that's a silly tattoo I start thinking about what I want to get
- 25:42tattooed next well you could change your tattoos yeah I need another tattoo but the
- 25:48people I was looking to get mine done they're in Melbourne and I'm not going [ __ ]
- 25:53apparently yeah they've gone into like disaster mode right super lockdown now
- 25:59800m curfew and oh wow that's really okay well I mean CO's really done a
- 26:05number on on Victoria that's for sure um but as we were discussing earlier Matt
- 26:11it's like the USA are determined to prove that Co is nowhere near the worst
- 26:16of the troubles yeah it turns out if you just uh if there's a pandemic you can
- 26:21just pretend there isn't one yeah and and everyone's just willing everyone's
- 26:25just up for that just it's just yeah I I think if I was in America right now
- 26:31I wouldn't know whether to be more scared of all the people refusing to
- 26:35take precautions against Co all the murder Hornets that are apparently
- 26:41around now what the [ __ ] is a murder Hornet I I'm surprised we didn't talk
- 26:48about this I've been the murder hornets have been around for a while there was a
- 26:51warning back I'm serious there's a warning months ago they said there's a
- 26:56concern that these these are like these giant hornets from Asia somewhere
- 27:02I'm not sure exactly oh don't sorry don't blame us okay no no no somebody
- 27:08they're always from somewhere else aren't they they America I remember when
- 27:14those Africanized bees remember the Africanized bees Matt it was before you
- 27:18were there but there was like bees from Africa oh yeah got to be from the third
- 27:24world that's that's how you get people scared of them yeah well I mean we'll
- 27:29get to the other stuff that Asia's doing with Tik Tok I guess later on in the
- 27:33show but yeah yeah yeah um i' I've added the photo of the what I was talking
- 27:38about before we started recording of Niagara Falls oh
- 27:42oh oh yeah so I see what you mean the Canadian one also I do like how the
- 27:48Canadian uh the Canadians are wearing red and the Americans wearing blue I do
- 27:52love it that there's just you know one River two countries and just so
- 27:57different yeah it reminds me it reminds me of a I mentioned a book a couple of
- 28:03weeks ago on this podcast um the last days of New Paris and I've become quite
- 28:08enamored with the writings of China maval who's the author of that book and
- 28:12I just finished one called the city and the city which is about these it's well
- 28:17it's about a murder it's about a woman who's murdered in a city that occupies
- 28:22the exact same geometry as another city I.E there are two cities that occupy the
- 28:28same space but they have different laws and they're at war with each other so
- 28:33okay if you're in this city you're only allowed to see other things that are in
- 28:38your city you're not allowed to see things from the other city and it's a
- 28:41crime it's called breach if you make eye contact with someone who's actually not
- 28:45meant to be in your city you get arrested interesting okay yeah and it's
- 28:50great and this reminds me this reminds me of that so what the picture is you could
- 28:56look at the the the Canadian one has like four people on it mhm and then you
- 29:02look at the American one and it's just full of people yeah can you get Co when
- 29:06you're on a boat Luke maybe you can't no no maybe you can't get it it stops on
- 29:10weekends if you're on holidays if you're surrounded by water get it yeah or if
- 29:15you're at the hardware store I think as well yeah and we can't blame America for
- 29:19that can we oh there was there was someone here who was complaining about
- 29:23wearing a mask and they for some reason they did a TV interview with her but the
- 29:27reason for it was she actually posted before about wearing a mask how it's
- 29:31good her reason for it not wearing mask now was because she was being told she
- 29:35had to wear one yeah yeah I mean that's the only reason right must be the only
- 29:39Reon I'll do it but I won't do it if you tell me to do it yeah yeah it's the
- 29:45toddler [ __ ] argument yeah I read I I saw a great thing the other day they're
- 29:50like if people still don't understand why masks are essential here's an
- 29:54analogy if everyone's going around pissing on each each other
- 29:59right and you're both Johny and you're both naked if you're standing in front of a
- 30:06guy and you're both naked and he's pissing you're going to get piss all
- 30:09over you if you're wearing pants you'll get some piss on your pants and some
- 30:16piss on you if you're both wearing pants he's just pissing
- 30:24himself mhm wear masks people it only works if
- 30:30we all do it it's not a big deal I don't understand yeah there's this there is
- 30:35this thing here where it's like a control thing and then people get funny
- 30:40about it I mean if the government want to control you there's better ways to do
- 30:44it than just say I don't want to see your lips frankly I just don't want to
- 30:48see them but also the Earth's flat so that too have you seen that uh that
- 30:55video of Carl Sean that's been um resurf suring in the last couple of weeks of
- 30:59been proving with a piece of cardboard that the Earth is not
- 31:03flat Luke have you seen that no I haven't seen that
- 31:07one it's Carl s and it's from the original uh Cosmos series that he did
- 31:13back in the 70s and um basically he's quoting a um I think it's an ancient
- 31:19Greek scientist who wanted to know why at the same time of day in two different
- 31:24places the sun can make different shadows I.E Long Shadows in one place and short shadows
- 31:31in another place and carlan were like well basically it can't unless and he's
- 31:36got this piece of cardboard with two Nails on it and he's outside and they've
- 31:40both got the exact same Shadow right cuz it's just a piece of cardboard and then
- 31:44he just bends it and one of the Shadows just elongates and the other one does
- 31:50the opposite he's like there you go the Earth isn't flat I was watching I was
- 31:54watching a YouTube video recently about and it's a flat earther and he's playing
- 31:58around with um those things that fly that take pictures um Dr drones what drones he's
- 32:05got a drone and he sort of proves that the Earth is round in the video because
- 32:09he Tak a video of the sun setting the sun sets so he goes higher and then you
- 32:14can see the sun again and it sets again and it's all like are you [ __ ]
- 32:18[ __ ] like it's just what are you trying to prove yeah but he's trying to
- 32:24prove that he was trying to show that oh this CU of the stars move the way they
- 32:28move that the Earth is flat and it's just yeah it's there's just no arguing
- 32:32with these people no you don't but here's the thing you don't even need the
- 32:37Stars to prove that the Earth is not flat he he did it in his own video
- 32:42trying to prove the Earth is flat he proved that it's not that's the thing
- 32:46and honestly I used to think these guys were taking the pier but now I'm not so
- 32:49sure if if you really believe that the world that the world is
- 32:53flat you also have to believe that someone is trying to convince you that
- 32:57it's when it's not and that's an argument I can't even have with you
- 33:01quite frankly because that's on a whole other level of naive that I just don't
- 33:07know even how to engage on and that's the thing I'm not actually watching Flat
- 33:11Earth videos I'm watching people on the internet talking about Flat Earth videos
- 33:18so I like uh there's a few you're constantly watching creaky creaky
- 33:23Blinder um baly cats they're all these people who go out and they find these
- 33:28names here's sorry to tell you street names of drugs sold in the western
- 33:34suburbs of Sydney you got any they they they show the videos but then they go
- 33:39and this is why it's not true and when you if all you're watching are the
- 33:43people telling you that the Earth is flat it's very easy and I can understand
- 33:47why people start to believe it cuz you get into this Echo chamber I love that
- 33:52the burden of proof is on us now like we have to just prove it all over again
- 33:57that that's the thing people complain about the YouTube algorithm because it's
- 34:01like oh you're interested in videos that tell you that hor [ __ ] here's 50,000 of
- 34:05them and then you're like well look all these videos say the same thing it must
- 34:08be true that's all well and good if you're only getting your [ __ ] news
- 34:14and your history and your science from
- 34:17YouTube and thr Facebook there as well I read I read a study the other day our
- 34:23studies show that people who only look at Facebook for their news are less like
- 34:28well [ __ ] no [ __ ] yeah I it's not the news yeah well the thing is they're not
- 34:33actually reading the article that's there they read the title which is
- 34:36clickbait yes but then also it it it it learns oh they like headlines that say
- 34:43that let's show you more of them and then you go oh well everything says that
- 34:47but it's not not only it doesn't even have to learn I I signed up for Syd
- 34:51Morning Herald app the other day because I'm about to go back to Australia and I
- 34:54want to start getting Australian news rather than as news and it was like ask
- 34:59me what topics are you into you into this you into this you into this we only
- 35:02show you stuff you like I'm like that's not the news that's not what the news is
- 35:07for the news you tell me what's important this is supposed to be
- 35:12curated I got to say I I the other day I was looking for information on this this
- 35:18Tik Tok thing that we'll talk about and I went to um like Australian news and I
- 35:22was like I didn't know any of this stuff was happening like yeah I've actually
- 35:27been cuz some stuff you say and I'm sort of like and the news I get here I'm sort
- 35:32of like I think I know more about what's happening in your country sometimes than
- 35:36what you get because we're reporting on stuff differently yeah absolutely so I
- 35:40got to I got to try and be more careful about that just I mean look I don't I
- 35:44don't watch the news a lot I mostly just get Apple news notifications world news
- 35:48you can't go wrong but they but all the notifications I get I guess are from US
- 35:52News sources and and then they're incredibly biased here like the media
- 35:56here is just so like like split down the middle like you either get all the you
- 36:02know the the left wi news or all the right wi news it's very difficult to get
- 36:06uh new this is just literally the fact yeah yeah there there is no unbiased
- 36:11news source yeah it's no it's difficult except us obviously yeah of course yeah
- 36:17yeah actually I'm very biased I know so am I I'm joking I'm very extremely I'm
- 36:22incredibly biased but I'm also a Centrist so you know yes yeah same we'll
- 36:27see I you're getting incredibly biased news but I'm neither right nor left
- 36:30leaning so yeah but apparently we're the worst Dan if you listen to either of the
- 36:35side yeah [ __ ] pick a side yeah no I
- 36:39will not pick a side I refuse to have made up my mind before I've heard the
- 36:44facts yeah that's that's the worst thing you can be cist [ __ ] atheist or
- 36:50agnostic like [ __ ] worst mate one I believe this oh now I've got some more
- 36:54information now My Views are shifting because I now no more it's called educating
- 37:00myself stand for something or stand for nothing it's like when I found out that
- 37:05the gays were trying to get the the bisexuals banned from the Marty gr and
- 37:09it was like what like well you know pick a side mate like they have they want to
- 37:15march in the MRA yeah they want to support you all
- 37:20problem pick aide oh yeah that's what they got yeah they got mad at Ruby Rose
- 37:25yeah oh she just decides what she wants to be I'm I don't probably doesn't work
- 37:29quite like that she wakes up she goes H who am I going to be today yeah and it's
- 37:34totally political too who do I want to
- 37:36piss off yeah yeah so murder Hornets uh
- 37:42we've been hearing about them since earlier in the year uh because they told
- 37:45us you got to watch out for these if you see these like I genuinely they said if
- 37:49you see these things you got to report them somehow somebody's introduced these
- 37:53giant [ __ ] Hornets that kill all the bees and the bees oh you know the bees
- 37:58are endangered now so it's a thing and uh and so yeah if you see these things
- 38:04is there is there a dollar in that is there a market for us collecting as many
- 38:09bees as we possibly can now you know what I mean I mean do we know
- 38:14how or is this going to be some kind of genocide I actually no they make I
- 38:20actually have thought about keeping bees have you yes I've thought about it and
- 38:25then realized that I'd have to apply for it oh you have to apply for it well no
- 38:30yeah evid you can like rent bees rent so they're not my bees mate they're a
- 38:37rental you don't do all the caring but you basically just get these bees
- 38:41they're on your property and they go out and do their thing but you're not
- 38:43actually even charged of the whole caring for them part okay so the rspca
- 38:48can't show up and arrest you yeah is this like where you kind of you have a
- 38:52horse that you ride every week and it's your horse but it's not really your
- 38:55horse and it doesn't live at your house it Liv a stable
- 38:58yeah except you can't ride a b well I mean you could D but the rest of you
- 39:03can't say that but I I went to uh I went to a establishment once in mji called
- 39:10the honey Haven I don't know if you guys have been to mji but it's great wi fresh
- 39:16BR juice well no it's a shop where you can buy all sorts of Honey right and we
- 39:21get in there and we I was pretty interested right and I said to the woman
- 39:25um who had clearly just gotten a job there because she spun around with a
- 39:29blindfold on and pointed somewhere it wasn't because she was a honey
- 39:32Enthusiast sure yeah there were very few of those I said can I can you buy pieces
- 39:37of honeycomb here and she was like yeah here they are and she's holding up like
- 39:41violet crumbles and I'm like no no no not the baking soda extract flavored
- 39:46with honey I mean like pieces of honeycomb and she like looked at me like
- 39:50I was a [ __ ] idiot um and then I tried to kind of pivot that and just be
- 39:55like are the bees like on the Prem mesis like are the bees here like can I see
- 39:59the bees and she was like bees here no
- 40:05I'm like no I'm just I don't mean in the room I mean I'm I'm just asking if your
- 40:09products are made locally like are they made on the premise she was like maybe
- 40:14there are some bees down the back but way down the back okay fine forget it we
- 40:21get it let me just buy some violet crumble and I'll be out of you here he's like under the
- 40:27under her coat it's just like a giant swarm of bees dressed as a human and
- 40:31like she's like sweating like bees she's got an earpiece in and
- 40:37they're like do not tell him about the Bees No be I don't know why you think
- 40:43they were bees here mate and then you step backwards and suddenly there's a
- 40:45guy in a suit with sunglasses on Sir come with me who told you about the
- 40:51bees like in Disneyland when you ask about the alligators
- 40:56yeah what what I just asked where they keeping Donald at Disneyland if you see
- 41:01an alligator uh this well okay this is an anecdote obviously but uh there was a
- 41:07story I think it was on Reddit where somebody was with their family at
- 41:10Disneyland Disney World rather the Florida one Florida yeah and yeah and
- 41:14saw an alligator right which is I mean Florida there are alligators there's
- 41:19recently sadly A kid got grabbed from one of the resorts there cuz it's
- 41:24alligator [ __ ] Florida yeah yeah grabbed and killed
- 41:29pulled into a car I believe it was that's right no I believe the kid got
- 41:34killed by an alligator so anyway this families in the park and they saw an
- 41:38alligator and they're they think they're just kind of hanging out alone is as as
- 41:44alone as you can be in Disneyland standing there there's not like security
- 41:47around them or anything sure and then one of the kids points and goes oh look
- 41:52it's an alligator suddenly [ __ ] team of of men in suits come up and they're
- 41:57like could you come with us and they're like we just you know like we preferred
- 42:02if you didn't see the alligator here's a bunch of free [ __ ]
- 42:06wow so next time we're there we just start talking about alligators the
- 42:10entire time this sounds like my China maval story all over again but they have
- 42:15the tightest [ __ ] security Disney Disney World yeah yeah oh yeah I do want
- 42:19to watch I want to read that I want to read that book a BBC show
- 42:25uh but read the book instead all right I'm reading a book uh I'm reading um
- 42:31Avery which is the book that Ken Katz the uh district attorney from Wisconsin
- 42:36wrote about Steven Avery the gentleman from making a
- 42:40murderer cuz I how is that it's and
- 42:46point of view it's interesting because well he writes in
- 42:52a he's a little I don't know it's written in a little bit of an irrita
- 43:57so convoluted like the the the the documentary does a very good job of cuz
- 44:03they set it up with the the first wrong wrongful conviction and framed like that
- 44:09it becomes easier to accept some of this other stuff but if you kind of stop and
- 44:13think about it it's pretty [ __ ] outlandish to suggest that
- 44:17these like you know no offense of any of them are listening but these like small
- 44:22town [ __ ] sheriffs these are not highly trained [ __ ] detectives as far
- 44:28as I'm aware they're not the FBI like that these people conspired to to do all
- 44:34this it seems very outlandish to me like yeah and the the reason behind it is
- 44:41because we did screw up and he went to jail so yes to make it better we will
- 44:46frame him so he goes to jail to avoid the lawsuit but then the other thing is
- 44:50too like like a lot of the so some of them were involved in the in
- 44:56the case where was going to get a payout but they W they didn't have to pay the
- 44:59money yeah like EXA not their money yeah
- 45:04and framing him for this murder doesn't solve the fact that everyone knows he
- 45:08was wrongfully convicted so I just don't really I don't know it's yeah to me
- 45:11you'd still be able to go to court and sue because that original one was still
- 45:15wrong just because you got done for another one doesn't mean that you
- 45:19weren't but I think the one thing that does make me go I guess maybe is the
- 45:23fact that they did know that it probably was wasn't him and they still convicted
- 45:29him on it so that fact but that happens all the time as exactly because they
- 45:35have to convict somebody like that's just how it works I mean that other
- 45:39Netflix about the guy who just confesses to all these murders so the cops
- 45:43basically just befriended him and went what about this one we could solve that
- 45:46one I guess that was because otherwise the cases just sit there open because
- 45:49they don't have the resour played Ace Attorney right you know someone has to
- 45:54go down for it yeah I haven't finished it yet but it is interesting I'm I'm
- 45:58going to I'm going to keep reading it despite the some I roll my eyes at a few
- 46:01bits of it and uh and uh but there's there's some interesting facts in there
- 46:06like there things like uh it contains full transcripts of
- 46:12uh voicemails say for example like um Theresa holbach the girl who was
- 46:17murdered left a voicemail for for when she was coming to take photos of the car
- 46:22at the at the Avery property she left a voicemail the version of the voicemail
- 46:25you hear in the sh doc is edited down the full version of it is
- 46:31actually is is more interesting because she says she doesn't know where she's
- 46:35got to meet up with the person and there's a few little suspicious details
- 46:39where it's like you know cuz she's been there before but she wasn't told where
- 46:42she had to go this time so it's a little they're just kind of little suspicious
- 46:46details that the documentary cut out cuz obviously it makes makes him look a
- 46:50little more suspicious have a more succinct story it's just to to cut out the audience
- 46:56might go why did she not know why did he not why did he try to hide the fact that
- 47:01it was his house basically yeah it's funny when you said uh they're not given
- 47:07the proper training they're not the FBI and all this stuff like this um with the
- 47:11recent troubles in America with police brutality um uh and you know black
- 47:18deaths in custody and police not being really equipped with the training and
- 47:23and expertise to handle certain extreme situations
- 47:29understand everyone's angry but saw that there's a there's a a new protest I
- 47:36guess you'd call it # defund the police
- 47:40yeah and it's like sorry you think less
- 47:43training is the answer you think less resources is the answer that's not what
- 47:49they're saying they what they want to do is for crimes that don't require a
- 47:56police officer stop sending police officers or not even crimes for
- 47:59situations where that's fine I get that yeah but that's not defunding the police
- 48:04that's these people are saying that the police are given too many resources now
- 48:09some people are are talking about just people saying that what they're actually
- 48:12trying to say is like don't give all the money to he spread it around so when you
- 48:18have someone that's going out to a noise complaint or someone with mental illness
- 48:23you got someone who's got training for that scenario got a g the police can you do
- 48:29me a favor can you explain this to the people who are using this hashtag who
- 48:34don't understand the Nuance of that hashtag is not going to get all of
- 48:40that in yeah and and I don't know man last year I would have there are people
- 48:46there are people who if you say do you mean get rid of the police they're like
- 48:49yes they will say yes because Anarchy is anarchy yeah so unfortunately it gets
- 48:55confused a lot of they but also flat earthers I'm not joking at
- 49:02all yeah and and to be clear I don't want to I I wasn't you know [ __ ] on
- 49:07police or sheriff or anything like that when I said God no no sorry I didn't
- 49:10mean to no no no I just I just wanted to clarify like you know like they're doing
- 49:16most of them are doing the best job they can it's yeah no I think you're right
- 49:19and I think violence against people aside and and you know what if they do
- 49:23them then we lump that in there too but I think yes I think most of these people
- 49:27take you know the police force as a job that they can get into without a whole
- 49:32lot of other yeah I'm like I'm not saying lack of training as a slight
- 49:37against police officers I'm saying as a as a on a as a system I feel like they
- 49:40should be getting better training for them as well not just it's sort of weird
- 49:44for for a country that has so many more guns and stuff they have less training
- 49:50than countries that really don't have that gun culture yeah like Australia
- 49:54England and all of that like they get more training but they don't have to
- 49:58deal with the same things that America is dealing with yeah well just the fact
- 50:02that you can cops can can be restraining somebody in know and kill them and they
- 50:09don't realize that they're doing that like the that that case where they just
- 50:13you know they sit on people right you can't do that you crush them but like
- 50:16they just don't they just don't know that but then also saying that that also
- 50:20does happen in Australia as well of course yeah yeah yeah and and that actually does come
- 50:26back to some of training because when someone is fighting against you they're
- 50:31not playing by the rules and being nice so they are taught through everyone get
- 50:36this person down try and restrain them it's shitty job it can go wrong it's a
- 50:40it's a tough job and well even in Australia they're taught that you will
- 50:45be spat on you will be assaulted as a police officer that will happen to you
- 50:50and that's just by me in this training
- 50:54session no but I I mean Sam said it that in a way that I really thought was
- 51:00accurate but also beside the point um but certainly accurate when he said no
- 51:06one has the right to not be arrested if you're being arrested you're being
- 51:11arrested and that is oh that's one of those most annoying things you hear so
- 51:15often at moment I do not consent you don't have the [ __ ] consent that
- 51:20works now in in in the real world maybe there is a gray area but in terms terms
- 51:26of what the law is and your requirements is a if a police officer is arresting
- 51:31you and you are completely innocent of that crime go along with it you'll be
- 51:34out by [ __ ] morning well the problem with that is yeah I know I know it's not that
- 51:40simple but no cuz here there's there's some good evidence to suggest that you
- 51:45know depending on the color of your skin you might not survive being arrested
- 51:50unfortunately and I think people have a have a good reason to be afraid in those
- 51:55circumstances and that might cause them to make the situation worse or or you
- 52:00know what I'm saying so imagine as a oneoff that was to happen to you that
- 52:04you're inconvenience for a night that went away but imagine if that was a
- 52:08regular occurrence right yeah that's that's where I can understand why if you
- 52:14were black you would be afraid to be arrested to be like I can completely
- 52:18understand that well I think just for driving your car yeah and on the
- 52:23spectrum of of ways you're likely to die that's
- 52:27disproportionately high for them yeah so
- 52:30I think if you're white sure but then but things change unfortunately do you
- 52:36remember when we first started this podcast I don't think we were this
- 52:39political no I don't think the world was alth maybe it's just we got old well I
- 52:44think we were just immune to it back then or we thought we were yeah that's
- 52:47true yeah we lived in Western Sydney we had very specific concerns guys want can
- 52:52we talk about video games or something yeah sure I've played a game this week
- 52:57I I I I I'm very interested to hear what you think of this game yeah so this is a
- 53:01game that I just flat out was never going to play um but they updated it
- 53:07recently and it was well it wasn't free well I mean
- 53:10itll i' signed up for for cool yeah game
- 53:14pass on Xbox um so you talking about Fallout 76 Fallout 76 which came out and
- 53:20disappointed everyone um how long have you been playing for I've been playing
- 53:24nonstop since Friday and I dropped way at the airport midnight on Friday played
- 53:30all through the night all day yesterday played this morning until I had to go
- 53:35and play tennis with somebody begrudgingly stopped came home and now
- 53:39I'm waiting for this podcast to finish so I can go and play some more the Xbox
- 53:43is still on I can see the light behind you it is yeah I just turned the TV off
- 53:48so you couldn't see that I was literally playing it right up until recording L doesn't
- 53:55bother I by Xbox is off thank you very much sometimes Discord pops up while in
- 53:59the middle of the show and it's like Luke playing some game playing clicker
- 54:05things CU he's he's just got the controller under the
- 54:07desk he's got the dick troller yeah so I think cuz I've recently started playing
- 54:1476 again uh because it came out on windows and new achievements so I
- 54:19started playing give it a try I sort of I sort of skipped past a lot of the
- 54:25stuff and I'm just going through emotions to get achievements because oh
- 54:29what else is to me no no no but to me in this game no decision I make will have
- 54:35any impact on this game at all so no matter what side I choose right that
- 54:41mission is going to be there again tomorrow okay okay I mean like it's and
- 54:46even when you go into an instance and you're going to have a chat with the
- 54:49human characters now what I do and what you do it's different but then we're in the same
- 54:54world and an I'm not an MMO person yeah that's that's way M it's definitely an
- 54:58MMO it's it's it's not Fallout 5 it's Fallout 4 and a half yeah but I'm really
- 55:05enjo power army yet like the old Republic's like that like you got you go
- 55:09to this area and they're like oh we're being overrun by the enemy and then it's
- 55:13like oh you've really helped us but they're still there tomorrow when you
- 55:16come back begging people begging more people to help them of course I get sent
- 55:21on this Quest today and they're like you're the only one who can help and
- 55:24when I get there there's some other guy there also same I am you know what I mean I'm
- 55:29like I know who sent you mate yeah and then you they told you you were the only
- 55:34one as well what the [ __ ] is going on here it's like the you sh them up and go
- 55:38back and Rob them yeah no I enjoy this it's it's basically fall out four but
- 55:43without a whole lot of really intense conversations and I enjoy it people
- 55:48leave you alone and it is different to the first time where now you actually do
- 55:52talk to people whereas the first time playing it the way you got missions was
- 55:55you would come across a tape or a computer you get it that way or you talk
- 55:59to a robot but I understand that because that is the story though the story is
- 56:04you got let out of the Vault way too late and everyone's dead so you're
- 56:09coming across things the reason you got let out late is you got
- 56:14drunk from partying too much at the leaving party and you slept in yeah and
- 56:19everyone left but but that makes sense why there's no people there and I kind
- 56:23of like that too I mean it's it's I can understand why get a little lonely if
- 56:28you're not talking to any human beings but when like you get sent on a mission
- 56:33to find somebody and ask them about something and you get there and and
- 56:35there's some old man going well they've been dead since before I was born and
- 56:39you're like oh like there's scope to this that's like really big and I think
- 56:43what this game does well that the other fallouts don't do quite as well is to
- 56:49show the sheer scope of Life lost like the there are there seem to be way more
- 56:55dead B in this just [ __ ] yes dead bodies which does make sense because
- 57:01you're sort of like one of the first ones to come out so you're part of
- 57:05cleaning up that world for that'll be lived in in another hundred years but
- 57:09even but I'm going to be interested to see what you think of this game in
- 57:12another week if I get bored of it you mean yeah yeah after what Luke does to
- 57:18you yeah yeah well so to see if you can still hold an Xbox controller in a week
- 57:24like is there another update coming out what no I like it I like the combat I like
- 57:29the modifications to the leveling and I like the way that your perks come as
- 57:36bubble gum cards that you got to unwrap I did I didn't mind that I did enjoy
- 57:41that but I want I but I wanted Fallout 5 yeah but they never they never told you
- 57:47it was going to be that in fact they told you it's not that uh I live in a
- 57:51nice little cottage that I've built myself down by the river you guys should drop by say
- 57:55hello yeah maybe I'll give it a shot yeah that that might be something you
- 57:59like that type of stuff for me I did the missions that taught you how to build
- 58:04[ __ ] and that's all I have like what I had to build to play and I forgot forgot
- 58:10I forgot that you have to do the early missions in order because they're the
- 58:13tutorial cuz I was just like no man I'm off I'm doing stuff I'm find how the
- 58:17[ __ ] do I get wood how the [ __ ] do I get took me a day to figure out how to get
- 58:20wood and then I realized oh tutorial one how to find some [ __ ] wood after I've
- 58:24already built my my house but that's that's because you were
- 58:28playing like a real Fallout game whereas like I remember playing Fallout 3 where
- 58:33it goes hey go that way and I remember going up I'm going that way and just
- 58:37wandered off yeah what I love about Fallout 3 that none of the others have
- 58:41captured and I know that I think you guys both prefer New Vegas as a game I
- 58:45do right it's your favorite Luke would you be the same still haven't finished
- 58:48it I three is still my favorite and the reason
- 58:53is it's if you can just wander off and you will find a whole [ __ ] world
- 59:00that's got nothing to do with like I mean there side quest in all of them of
- 59:02course but Fallout 3 for me was like you could go down rabbit holes that took you
- 59:07days to get to the bottom of that had nothing to do with the main quest I
- 59:12think new New Vegas has that but yeah at the the start of it is not as free like
- 59:17you you the area you're in you kind of have to take one of two paths to get out
- 59:22of it so you it does kind of railroad you a bit well was one of the first ones
- 59:26you're not playing like a vault while or leaving it's someone who lives in the
- 59:31world yeah yeah yeah the career mhm just give me five don't get
- 59:36me wrong is a very that's all I want not criticizing and what I liked about it
- 59:39too was that it's a little bit more
- 59:46Ser we're really bad at that yeah also lists can't see that we're high-fiving
- 59:51our cameras no probably if I do this yeah
- 59:57probably so Matt can you still use Tik Tok or did Trump ban it over the weekend
- 1:00:02he said he was gonna I don't know so I I stopped using Tik Tok because of the um
- 1:00:07because of the weird cop your passwords yeah because of that weird [ __ ] it was
- 1:00:10up to so I deleted it um and then now yeah Trump's talking about issuing an
- 1:00:15executive order to ban it which I'm not sure if he can but I'm I don't I I mean
- 1:00:21I think it's how he spins it if he says this is literally Chinese spy wear he
- 1:00:26probably can well people have been saying that for for a couple of months
- 1:00:29now yeah that that it's not that it's well I think the problem is
- 1:00:35that the it's a company based in China
- 1:00:40based in Beijing and the servers I think are in China which means that whether
- 1:00:46they want them to or not the Chinese government can do whatever they want
- 1:00:50with the data that Tik Tok collects so that's the concern and I mean I guess
- 1:00:55that's pretty valid concern if you don't want the Chinese government looking at
- 1:00:59your data so before Trump said he was going to ban it Micosoft was actually
- 1:01:04looking to buy it yes and so they're saying Tik tok's also talking about
- 1:01:09selling the US operations to somebody over here and that way it's separated
- 1:01:14and I guess the servers will be here that's the thing though I don't know
- 1:01:17there are other companies that people have raised concerns about there's a
- 1:01:21company called tick tick because I guess if you're a Chinese company you have to
- 1:01:24have a have name that starts with tick but uh it's a it's like a to-do app and
- 1:01:30that's uh owned by a Chinese company but the servers in the US are in the US and
- 1:01:36they're separate and so they're not M you know that the Chinese government has
- 1:01:40no theoretically can't touch them
- 1:01:43so if Tik Tok does it again I could be wrong maybe they actually do have all
- 1:01:48the servers here and this is a fuss over nothing cuz how the [ __ ] would I know
- 1:01:52but yeah if they sell it to an an American company maybe that'll solve the
- 1:01:58problem but I've stopped using it I do have my music on there still
- 1:02:02though listeners if you're on Tik Tok and you want some music just give brain
- 1:02:04fit a search I do get money for that so feel
- 1:02:10free you get money from Tik Tok your Tik
- 1:02:13Tok famous oh wow well I think I've made
- 1:02:1718 cents so far oo yeah that would actually have to be a a lot of people
- 1:02:23listening though they if if you use my music on a video so like if when you
- 1:02:30make a video on Tik Tok you can choose a soundtrack or I think you do the other
- 1:02:34way around right you can choose a soundtrack and then make a video to go
- 1:02:36with it I don't know uh and my music is on there and if people use my music in
- 1:02:41their videos I get money per view so and
- 1:02:46it' be like 0.000000 one of a cent for every oh yeah I'm sure it's not very
- 1:02:50much yeah yeah but that's what I'm sound like 18 cents you're actually quite a
- 1:02:55lot I could probably look up the stats on that uh I'll get back to you now
- 1:03:01yeah uh so it's not banned yet but he's saying that he's going to ban
- 1:03:06it he said he was going to ban it on Saturday yeah yeah he says a lot of
- 1:03:11things lately he said the other day uh fouchy the you know the the head of
- 1:03:17the you know the viral [ __ ] whatever the the Doctor Who's the co doctor
- 1:03:23they've been having a tiff because they fouy keeps contradicting him and they've
- 1:03:27been he's been getting mad at him and fouchy got invited to throw out the
- 1:03:31first pitch at a baseball game and then at the same time that was happening
- 1:03:35Trump was doing a press conference where he said oh actually the Yankees have
- 1:03:38invited me to do it next month and then the Yankees are like no we haven't no we
- 1:03:42haven't and now Trump's had to come out and say oh I'm busy I can't I can't do
- 1:03:47it I've had to cancel like no you didn't doing it yeah it's
- 1:03:54funny weird dude you must be the only country in the
- 1:03:59world who has a president who doesn't want to be president it's so weird he does the
- 1:04:06weirdest stuff sometimes it baffles me like how are you not embarrassed by this
- 1:04:12if if [ __ ] Kan how many decisions are he making and tweeting just while he's
- 1:04:15on the toilet just some of the weird with his finger on the on the nuclear button
- 1:04:22yeah so weird yes uh out and vote I
- 1:04:26guess I could I got I got to become a citizen they're raising the price so are
- 1:04:33they oh yeah I got to go out I got to do it get in on that now then well I mean
- 1:04:38the social prices already high man um I honestly believe that with the power
- 1:04:44that the United States has or claims to
- 1:04:48have you shouldn't have to be a US citizen to vote for in the US president
- 1:04:54presidential oh but yeah good Lu changing that any yeah any country that
- 1:05:00is going to be affected by whatever [ __ ] billionaire lobbyist wants to be
- 1:05:06it next yeah should have the right to vote but I guarantee the first thing
- 1:05:11people are going to say if you say you want non-citizens to vote they're going
- 1:05:14to say oh great so all the [ __ ] immigrants get to vote on what happens
- 1:05:16in our country well there's a huge percentage of people who live there who
- 1:05:20are citizens who can't vote yeah well may maybe they should just get a job
- 1:05:25well no I'm talking about the people who go to jail yeah well maybe they should
- 1:05:28just not do a crimes oh you can't vote from jail is
- 1:05:33that true that's you can't yeah yep that's it you lose your right to vote
- 1:05:39forever G no yeah mhm that and also if you can't get to a
- 1:05:45place to vote you can't vote so if you're working class and you've got to
- 1:05:49be at work well good luck bad luck so it's not like Australia where you have
- 1:05:54to vote like it's the law to vote and and you can you can not go to work in
- 1:05:58order to do that because you're required to do it and they can't say yeah they
- 1:06:03get a public holiday here so that everyone has the day off to vote and
- 1:06:06there's only one party running it's basically fascism but they still get the
- 1:06:10day off to vote that's funny yeah no it's you've got to you got to go out of
- 1:06:16your way to do and then they want to have to do the mailin voting but
- 1:06:18everyone's against that because it's they they talk about vot I read an
- 1:06:21article did I talk about this I literally read an article the other day
- 1:06:25that I'm like this is not true that said that somebody's cat got sent a [ __ ]
- 1:06:31registration voter registration thing I like this did not happen and then they
- 1:06:35they the article they interviewed somebody and they said they said we find
- 1:06:39this very hard to believe but even if a cat and the cat was dead the cat had
- 1:06:45died several years ago even if someone's dead cat did get sent a registration
- 1:06:49form when the cat thead cat sent it in unless they have a driver's license yeah
- 1:06:55they show up unless they're a human being yes with a [ __ ] valid driver's
- 1:07:02license even the driver's license a cat
- 1:07:06wanders in that's right with if it's got the paperwork mate what are you going to
- 1:07:11do you know what though it's going to Biden can't people do give animals way
- 1:07:17too much credit right so um there's a lot of pets in my building right and I
- 1:07:22guess there must have been some mess outside so the management put up a sign
- 1:07:26on the door that says no pooping or peeing in the common areas right and
- 1:07:31Ember herd's like [ __ ] you have you it's my right to poop where I wish Live Free
- 1:07:36or Die um no so that was up for about a day then the next day when I was walking
- 1:07:42Charlie I noticed that they' taken the sign off and put it back on down the
- 1:07:46bottom of the door because obviously someone had said well it's for animals
- 1:07:53not humans so it should be down at their ey so yeah where the pets can see it
- 1:07:58[ __ ] Rous it's still it's it's like half a foot off the
- 1:08:02ground you're paying attention to it when they after they moved it you and
- 1:08:07you're on the way out then Charlie turn to you and go oh when did they put this
- 1:08:10up yeah yeah he's like wait that was for me
- 1:08:17yeah [ __ ] ridiculous that's all for this week thank you for listening and we
- 1:08:23hope you enjoyed the show if you enjoyed it then please subscribe and items to
