- Sue: I'm thinking this morning about whenever you're out and about, you're eating out. That was the mindset I held when I was working in Manhattan for Music Pub. And you'd find a neighborhood around the corner from where your office was located that had relatively cheap eats. And what I mean by that is something that you could eat for under than $15. You're at a place in your life where you establish a routine of when you're not at home, you're eating at the price of $12 or $15 for your lunch each and every day. $60 a week. Well, it adds up very quickly, doesn't it? But you don't realize it at the time because you're making decent money and you're keeping things afloat and, okay, you know you're early on in your career. You might not expect to have a lot of savings behind you. And as I did, rent might be really cheap and you're in a decent neighborhood with other people that are like-minded to you. So it's, you know, a comfortable existence. But along that path, you adopt, based on that mindset, an approach to assessing your yes-no decisions in your life that can come back to front and center in your life later on. For example, the pandemic. We understand recently what happens when we have an interruption in our income and how we rebounded from that. In my specific area of expertise, it's a very specialized niche that got decimated because no one could... congregate in public. So it was an opportunity for me personally to immediately turn within and kind of start ticking the boxes of who I am. And I understood better that if I had no other choice in my life at that point when I lost my husband and dog within days of one another shortly after I... was destitute from losing my job. I knew if I didn't have a house, life was gonna get rough pretty quickly. But what I do have and haven't used nonetheless is camping equipment. Having me live rough is probably not a picture you all would wish to see. But the thought had crossed my mind that had circumstances been slightly different, I had sort of prepared options. I speak about this today because I think when you have a life that gets very comfortable with your income and your ability to enjoy what you feel you deserve to have for your hard work, a good meal, somebody else cooking for you at a lunch spot, whatever it is, you start to relax and feel comfortable, but you're not feeling comfortable on your own. You're feeling comfortable as a codependent. And what I've learned from my own time, with myself is that to the extent that I want to be able to control my life, to understand that the food that I put in me has to be nutritious and has to be cost-effective. Rice and beans. And to buy as much as I could in bulk and the mindset of, this is what you're eating, girl, because you ain't got other choices for the foreseeable future. So do that, get through it. After all, over 50 % of the world eats rice and beans as the basis of their diets. You're just only just now joining the team. and you start looking at all of the little things that are in your life that are sustaining you or starting to sustain you. Express your gratitude for that out loud. Go on and tell yourself that you love yourself out loud and know that there are things external of you that you cannot control and ⁓ should not try to control ever, because that's spiritual trespassing at the very least. And for that, you have to be bolstered up and prepared with yourself being aware of what's around you to know. how to protect yourselves. And that's gonna help with your discernment, because all of a sudden, what seemed to be, ⁓ yeah, well come on and join this group. Yeah, well, you know, we welcome everybody, here we are, we'll give you shelter, et cetera. ⁓ yeah, and here's our book. Or whatever dog leather is. Stand on your own. Understand what it takes to provide for yourself, because you'll soon learn how much is extra. Because once it's gone, you don't miss it. Yeah, I didn't need that to begin with. Great. I have more resources for myself now to do whatever I want. And that's important because that creative energy, that's your life force. Allow yourself to feel what it is to understand the power of your own energy so that no one else takes it from you, ever. It's simply about the fact that you're at peace. You got everything, you know what you have, and you're just letting be, silently, calmly, relaxed. knowing that you have all the power you need to do what is needed because you're in control of yourself, because you made some real decisions, yes, no, that helped you get to the place in life to understand realistically what it is to sustain you, knowing as well that there are external factors that you cannot control and have to be able to protect yourself to the extent that you're able to do so. So that means grace and patience. It means forgiveness. means all of those good things that we might not want to connect with. But when you have the opportunity to have an interest in your life where you utilize your creative energy with physically, tactically engaging with a medium or an instrument, that's a really good thing. Anywho, that's where you have to start because all of a sudden you're going to recognize around you that there might be energies that are trying to take those energies from you. And now that you see that, you hold it because you control you. And it's just another day, you know, nothing's changed. You don't give up your dominion ever. And if you did, then time to reclaim it. Yeah, I see it. It's okay. It's not for me to judge. My point is just be you. Don't be what everybody else expects you to be. Feed yourself and just survive every day sometimes in your life. And when you get to a place where you're little more prolific with your output creatively or you're easing your finances and things are coming in better for you income-wise, you still maintain the basic diet and those tenets of what your survivability is so that then you can keep the siphon of the cash in-house, use it for something better instead of giving it away without realizing it. Anywho, thanks for listening. I appreciate you. and your sharing of your energy with me today.
