- 0:014:55 And another example. That means the greatest example
- 0:08of where your character and your humility really plays out in the
- 0:14following way. Hajela Kashini was Cibila Tel de
- 0:17Bonot able to handle insults. The ability to handle insults
- 0:22does not show and prove tough skin as people believe.
- 0:26It doesn't prove, you know, basic strong will of character
- 0:31alone, what it proves more than anything else to be able to
- 0:35handle something that comes your way.
- 0:36It proves humility because insults are usually people who
- 0:45who get embarrassed and do not respond, right?
- 0:48They get embarrassed and they don't embarrass in return.
- 0:50They don't respond. Those are the people as we'll
- 0:52get to those are considered the highest level of character in
- 0:55the world. Literally Hashem says the entire
- 0:57world is hanging on their actions and their actions their
- 1:02their lack of reaction. Another level of applying
- 1:09immunity is second category is being able to be so well so
- 1:14they'll means to handle to handle insults.
- 1:21By the way, what's the reward? Who does Hashem lift up the
- 1:26punishment from the Miche avera Pesha, someone who Avera Pesha
- 1:32Avera pesha means he overlooks someone hurting him.
- 1:36He overlooks in his, which means the vice is sitting strong to
- 1:39you and nasty and insulting and you just continue on your way.
- 1:44You are the person and Hashem says about you, and if you're
- 1:47going to continue on your way for my mistake, for a man of
- 1:51mistake, and God will continue on his way, so to speak and
- 1:54ignore your mistake. God will lift up your sinners if
- 1:57it doesn't exist and lift it and disconnect it from you and make
- 2:01it as if it's completely not a problem.
- 2:03Why? Because you did the same thing
- 2:05for somebody else. What's the other way?
- 2:07I shouldn't replies everywhere as you mentioned, ramu old
- 2:11hanela vim venam or vim, If someone gets embarrassed, it
- 2:15does not respond with embarrassment.
- 2:17Shamim Hepatan Venami Shim, they hear their disgrace.
- 2:23Here's someone really, you know, be very strong against them and
- 2:27they don't return. They don't respond.
- 2:29So in America they'd say you're you're someone who's allowing
- 2:32abuse. He's someone who's being taken
- 2:34advantage of. He love to say that concept and
- 2:37it's somewhat at times true, but not oaks all I am, I got to a
- 2:41man. These are the people Hashem
- 2:45loves, kids, sick, Hashemish, a shamble with the exact English.
- 2:52They who love him shall be the sun going forth in his might.
- 2:55They're going to have and all this blessing.
- 2:57And then we'll see certain examples.
- 2:59Now let's understand this. Why is this considered such a
- 3:01beautiful thing? Why is it considered a display
- 3:05of humility? It's good character.
- 3:07How is the humility? The only way it's humility is
- 3:10the following way, because when an insult comes your way, it's
- 3:14considered a punch of your image.
- 3:17It's considered a punch and what you believe you are.
- 3:21And someone says you know, you're slow, you're you're not
- 3:24really that good at business. Or they say you know, you're not
- 3:30as smart as you think you are. You're not as witty as you think
- 3:33you are. You sense your humor is weak,
- 3:34not that funny. Whatever the examples are, you
- 3:36know that's a big deal. These are all shots at your self
- 3:41perceived image as they are. And a person who is arrogant, a
- 3:45person who believes is a big deal.
- 3:47Now, does he have his image? He has the image that he
- 3:50believes others see him as. And now when you're being told
- 3:55as somebody else, an embarrassing line, a shot, a
- 3:59punch, so to speak, your entire image of being knocked out, how
- 4:04do you avoid this? The humility a person has says
- 4:09to himself, I don't, I don't really know what I'm considered.
- 4:12I don't really know what I consider myself.
- 4:15In that sense, I have a great confidence, but I don't know
- 4:17what I consider my image. I'm fine.
- 4:20My image is not built or shattered by people's comments.
- 4:24And by the way, a very important point, the only way you can
- 4:28reach this point of not being overly insulted by things is not
- 4:33waiting the compliments. Even if you're so dependent on
- 4:38people's rezuk, you're also going to be hurt by people's
- 4:42knocks. If you don't really go, you
- 4:44don't you know, you don't swing like the wind, you don't wait so
- 4:47much of people's compliments and he's able don't get so hurt.
- 4:51If he was insults, you're in a steadier balance.
- 4:54As he was said before, a very healthy zone.
- 4:57But the key of that zone is actually humility.
- 5:00And the humility is I don't have a whole self-image.
- 5:04I don't think that there's a whole persona about what people
- 5:06say about my name. I'm not reading with others are
- 5:09saying about me and therefore if something comes along the wire
- 5:13that is not positive doesn't destroy my world because my
- 5:18world wasn't built on their positive, it wasn't built on
- 5:21their reflection. It doesn't.
- 5:23It's not. It's not to be or end all what
- 5:24they say about me. If you have a certain degree of
- 5:28a steady healthy balance, humility and you will not care
- 5:32as much if people throw shots at you.
- 5:34And this is the reality. Insults are based on arrogance.
- 5:40Feeling the insult is based on our own arrogance.
- 5:42And the less we are busy with our self-image, the more we're
- 5:48able to handle, the more it's like water off my back.
- 5:50It's not a big deal. It doesn't exist.
- 5:52It rolls right off. It's awesome where it's coming
- 5:55from. Yeah, somewhat.
- 5:57But even that's even if let's say why?
- 5:59Why does that make sense? Because if something's coming
- 6:01from an important person, it hurts more.
- 6:04It only hurt, not an insult. Maybe it's like, OK, that's you
- 6:07too, but balls race. It could be, you know you can't,
- 6:10though, you can't always take everything as an insult.
- 6:13Sometimes, you know, you got to be men, you know, with right
- 6:17based thetics for sure, for sure.
- 6:19But if it's coming from a higher place, a lot of times it's very
- 6:21hurtful. And the reason that's the case
- 6:23is because if they don't be sending me something, they're
- 6:26they're important people and they don't they don't value me.
- 6:29I'm really worth nothing. If you start off before I get
- 6:32started and say to yourself, I am not focused on myself worth
- 6:36to the public eye that even if an important person could
- 6:39shamble and say something about you, it's it's hurt, it's more
- 6:43hurtful, but it won't hurt and sting as much as it should
- 6:47because it's really not on your radar.
- 6:49There is no radar in my eyes of public worth.
- 6:52If I diminish that factor and I get rid of that category, a
- 6:57safer place to that's the idea, right is the overall thing.
- 7:02Now they're going to give you examples.
- 7:03Go ready for these examples that shock Mr. Blue Migo del Alva
- 7:07torso Baba Vebuta. The Gemara gives us an example
- 7:11of the humility of a certain rabbi.
- 7:13The bottom line of 455 about the Turner page.
- 7:16Zilla's showing up who barred by Ville is a leak lady to sell.
- 7:21There's a Babylonian person who moved to Israel, moved there to
- 7:27sell, and they see each time he married his wife.
- 7:31All right, he married his wife and he and his wife spoke a
- 7:35different language. That's a great marriage, Amarla,
- 7:38he told her. Bashiri Lee, can you cook a
- 7:42certain food for me? OK, I have to look at this in
- 7:46the English here to clear. He told her.
- 7:47Cook me lentos odd Zili TV atone Arista Baba, right.
- 7:54What happened was he kept asking her for things that she made
- 8:00different things. It was a problem and then they
- 8:03asked her for Zili Tiviaton. Arrecia de Baba, can you can you
- 8:08make 2 lemons? This is in Hebrew.
- 8:12And she bought 2 lamps. OK, what happened?
- 8:17He says take those lamps, you messed up.
- 8:19He got upset her take those lamps.
- 8:21The thousand told his wife break it and go break it.
- 8:24Arrecia de Baba de Baba can mean in Aramaic, it can mean on the
- 8:31doorway. Well, there was a rabbi whose
- 8:34name was Baba and Rasha means the head.
- 8:38She took the lamps Javi ativ Baba Bouziat to break up, break
- 8:45it on the rabbi. He's.
- 8:49Giving me the court case Azarat utvarat yaton arasha.
- 8:54She takes the lamps and breaks it on the rabbi's head to follow
- 8:59our husband's orders. Amarla, the rabbi tells her.
- 9:02What ma de la tat what you just do.
- 9:07I'm Ali, she tells him. Cock sibani Bali.
- 9:11My husband told me to break the land.
- 9:13Break it on your head. Can you imagine in America the.
- 9:19The lawsuits, The thing, Amar. As he said, that's what my
- 9:22husband want. I see it's sore ballet, she
- 9:28said. This is what my husband said,
- 9:29the rabbi said. Well, you listen to your husband
- 9:32Hamakom Karl. You'd see me meh.
- 9:37She bless you with two children who are rabbis like Baba and
- 9:43bhuta like myself. And he lives sneh balin Ki baa
- 9:47Bhuta and Jihad. Yeah, get it?
- 9:51She had two children. No, like Baba Bhuta only.
- 9:54Down in 2 minutes. A minute, all right, We know
- 9:57what's going on there. Are you OK?
- 10:01OK, go go pick up Sam and call me and I'm going to meet you,
- 10:05OK? What does this mean?
- 10:08Who's downstairs? Where does this mean the rabbi
- 10:10got hit? Or the lamp over his head.
- 10:13To talk to Sydney. That's it.
- 10:15Babe, I didn't come in and Rabbi.
- 10:16Gave me a lamp over his head and he says.
- 10:20To this woman, I'm in the middle.
- 10:22What are you doing? I'm going to be back.
- 10:24What are you doing? Tell this woman.
- 10:25OK. Yeah, yeah.
- 10:26Yeah, I'll tell you by the way. OK, You started me in there.
- 10:29OK. Got an extension, He says.
- 10:32All right, what are you doing? I'm doing my husband's will.
- 10:38Therefore what? What in?
- 10:41Good, great. No job, no problem now.
- 10:43No problem. I bless you because you're doing
- 10:45the right thing that you should have children that are similar
- 10:49to great Rapids. Now, one second, let's go
- 10:52through the soy. It's one thing to to be OK with
- 10:55it. It's one thing to say, OK, I
- 10:58hear you. To bless her wonder world.
- 11:02This is the fundamental key. It's unbelievable.
- 11:06And only through humility will you be able to notice this.
- 11:09And that is people. So often some people have like a
- 11:14flag that's up in the air that's basically catching all the winds
- 11:18of insults. Anything anyone says to them,
- 11:21they react, they jump. A lot of times people are saying
- 11:24things that are half, half lines, not really meant to mean
- 11:29anything. Maybe they were too strong,
- 11:31maybe they were too hurtful. But you, you have you your flag
- 11:34up there in the wind and it's picking up all winds, literally
- 11:37trying to detect you now, like in Yankee Stadium, they could
- 11:38tell you where the winds going. Some people have those winds.
- 11:41They could tell you exactly is the wind and that comments
- 11:44coming on my side or is it going somebody else?
- 11:47And there's so, so, so much hearing and feeling those winds
- 11:51in the insults all the time. You know what the people have to
- 11:54realize 99% of the time is not really geared at you, even when
- 12:00it's said to you is not geared at you.
- 12:02Literally a lamp was broken over the rabbi's head and he had
- 12:06enough, you know, strength within itself and enough of mine
- 12:11to identify where this is coming from and to unpack it and to
- 12:16realize it was never a geared at him.
- 12:18She didn't need anything bad, didn't know she even was doing a
- 12:21good thing. She deserves to be fleshed with
- 12:24rabbis as children. How does a woman married to have
- 12:27ghidolin takes a lamp or breaks over a rabbi's hand?
- 12:30What in the world? The answer is a rabbi had the
- 12:32ability and they will to recognize it wasn't meant at
- 12:36him. It wasn't attempted at him, it
- 12:39was attempted at somebody else. This for us is one of the
- 12:42greatest sources of Shalom a person can have and that is so
- 12:47often lamp over his head. So Shalom ready.
- 12:50So often comments are said to you.
- 12:53They're not meant to come out where they did.
- 12:57They're not meant to hurt the way they did.
- 12:59Even if they're said by a person who is trying to say something
- 13:02strong to you, you know what it's coming from unpack.
- 13:06It's kind of for someone who's insecure, it's kind of for some
- 13:08of his life is a mess. It's kind of from someone who's
- 13:10trying to figure about themselves.
- 13:12It's kind of for someone who's just trying to, you know, not
- 13:15allow you to be the most awesome person in the room.
- 13:18It's kind of for somebody who's just tried to say comment, some
- 13:20are trying to be funny, it's not funny.
- 13:22Trying to be cute, not cute. Someone doesn't really know what
- 13:25they're saying. 1,000,000 1/2 examples.
- 13:28And you never get a chance to notice this because we're so
- 13:33sensitive. The world today is a super
- 13:35sensitive world, which is a great thing.
- 13:37The world today is super sensitive world, which is a
- 13:40terrible thing. Sensitive to give people hugs,
- 13:43look beautiful. Sensitive to be insulted by
- 13:48everything that goes in your direction.
- 13:50It's terrible. So many, so many fights that
- 13:53exist today are made-up that don't really exist.
- 13:57They were based on comments that weren't really geared at you.
- 14:00And even if they were geared at you, like the lamp over the
- 14:02head, they were coming from some other place.
- 14:05Like this woman from my husband, or a person who had a bad day or
- 14:08a person who got insulted. I know I was doing this.
- 14:10I recently was very strong and I can identify in a second they
- 14:14had a bad day. It's irrelevant what they're
- 14:16saying. Wait for it to pass, let it go.
- 14:19And you don't get that chance unless you have the ability to
- 14:23allow the water to roll off. That's just telling you the main
- 14:27core, the Shalom, the main ability to be strong and
- 14:32actually confident eventually is to be humble.
- 14:34Because when you're humble enough to allow things to just
- 14:38go, you are eventually have the ability to remain the same.
- 14:42Stable first. Now, what do you mean I'm being
- 14:45abused? I mean taken advantage of.
- 14:47I mean, this another thing. Yeah, you're right.
- 14:49If it's a situation that they're abusing and they're taking
- 14:52advantage of, you have to address it.
- 14:54Sure. But if it's conversation with
- 14:56random people, or it's once in a while, or it's a wife on a bad
- 14:59day, or it's a parent who's in a bad mood, whatever it may be,
- 15:02you just let it go and then you keep the Shalom how you let it
- 15:05go. It doesn't really meant at me.
- 15:07It wasn't really meant for this. I can't tell my times.
- 15:10I've been told comments, and so you're probably more than me,
- 15:12everyone, how many comments you've been told and they
- 15:15weren't really anything. But if you let it sit, it could
- 15:18destroy you, can react, it can bother you, it could burn you
- 15:22up. But I really just go by saying
- 15:24no, I'm this perfect person. I'm not a Sadiq that can handle
- 15:28anything. I can tell it wasn't really
- 15:31meant at me. Have you absorbed that enough?
- 15:34It wasn't really meant at my core.
- 15:37It was meant because they're insecure.
- 15:39They have those self esteems, they have their own problems.
- 15:42They're struggling with the same topics.
- 15:44So they tried to make fun of me about it, whatever it may be.
- 15:47How many times talk to people who are weak in a certain area
- 15:50and they therefore try to make you seem weak in that same area.
- 15:53Why? Because they can't handle the
- 15:55fact that you're strong and that weak.
- 15:57Let it go. Let them have their problems.
- 15:59And this is something that's so, so common and so noticeable.
- 16:05And the stronger we are, the better we are at this point, the
- 16:08better we're off. Now it does provide unbelievable
- 16:13reward to good at this game. Why does it provide unbelievable
- 16:16work? Because it's hard to get here.
- 16:18It's very hard to get to this point.
- 16:20Even though we say it's very clear, it's based on confidence,
- 16:25it's based on humility, understood.
- 16:27It's still, it's hard to get to this because you have so many
- 16:31layers and so many red flags that go up in your mind and so
- 16:35many buttons are pushed. You don't get a chance to really
- 16:39think and say where's the current from and why is the
- 16:41current from and who am I and who is she?
- 16:43Whatever else. You never get that chance.
- 16:45So because of that, you really never get to be able to control
- 16:49yourself. But if you have a system in
- 16:51place and the system in place is, wait, identify that missile,
- 16:57is it meant at me or not? It better speed in a sense in
- 17:01Israel today, I don't shoot down every missile.
- 17:04And they can see that the missiles going into empty area,
- 17:07they'll let it go. All right, If you can tell that
- 17:12an insult is not really meant, that you let it go, you have to
- 17:15shoot back once in a while. But you don't need to shoot
- 17:18back. It was not meant to you.
- 17:20If it's not meant to your core, If they weren't really talking
- 17:23to you, they're just reflecting their own anger and their own
- 17:25frustration, own sadness, known bitterness.
- 17:28If you can read this figured this game.
- 17:30I had one case I saw got the guy Hassan doesn't matter with the
- 17:37name what it is. Sure.
- 17:38He came to pray and there's somebody else.
- 17:42I'm What are you? What are you?
- 17:43Praying who they told. You.
- 17:45What do you think you are all? These things to say.
- 17:47The guy you know, in front of everybody, making the guy a guy.
- 17:55He kept his mouth cut. He didn't answer him.
- 17:57He didn't say nothing. I saw him.
- 18:05I said that. How can you a lot of?
- 18:08People all. They yelled at him.
- 18:09They yelled. At him in front of me.
- 18:11Who the hell you are? Wow, you, you are, I told them
- 18:21there. You go.
- 18:24You know, it's unbelievable. And they have these, that's a
- 18:29classic story. They have these cases where
- 18:31people were childless, people had problems and they went
- 18:36through a high Kanansky, classic cases.
- 18:38And he said find someone who is embarrassed, find someone who is
- 18:43ashamed and get them for a blessing for them.
- 18:47Don't go to a big rabbi. Go to them and they'll bless
- 18:50you. And there's a classic story.
- 18:51You've read the story before, but someone was in a wedding and
- 18:54they got shambled and someone else runs over them and this
- 18:56isn't it. They're about to read and find
- 18:58all the can you bless me that have a child and they were
- 19:02blessed and that a child. These cases have happened and
- 19:04that happened pretty strong pretty frequently.
- 19:07It's a real thing because they are the people that have the
- 19:10strongest source of shahina inside of them because Hashem
- 19:15says I bless such people. The deeper point is these people
- 19:18are very similar to Hashem in a sense.
- 19:21They're following me, daughter Hashem.
- 19:23This is God's way God handles a lot, right?
- 19:26We insult brothers, we insult God all day long.
- 19:29We do every time say is a person says no talks in the middle of a
- 19:33mignon or a person doesn't he roll, or a person doesn't learn
- 19:36or doesn't pray, whatever else you are insulting God, He's
- 19:39trying to provide for you. Try to provide for me and I'm
- 19:42not giving you back in return. And yet Hashem says it's not
- 19:46that, it's his children, he's tired, he had a bad day.
- 19:50All the different excuses on our behalf, not to let it go, but to
- 19:53take away the sting of our sin. So as Sham does that for us,
- 19:58this person who can handle an insult is doing that as well.
- 20:04And the result? They're blessed.
- 20:06They have the shahina rest right in them, the same way the
- 20:09shahina arrests on the lowest mountain.
- 20:12So he not arrest on an individual who is like God in
- 20:16this level of humility and they're blessed beyond belief.
- 20:19If you want blessing in your life, this right here is your
- 20:23greatest. Take it to blessing way more and
- 20:26traveling the world to pray way more than getting any better
- 20:30call from any person right here. This concept of blowing in our
- 20:34lives is a source of blessing. I don't remember the exact
- 20:37story. I have to do a little more
- 20:38searching. I can't ask my wife.
- 20:40I had this incident recently with this happen and my wife
- 20:43told me to not respond and I remember, I remember exactly
- 20:47what it was, but very soon after I didn't respond and something
- 20:51great came out of it. OK, she told me this story, this
- 20:54concert, something great. Story was be made here that the
- 20:58woman went to. She didn't came home on that
- 21:01Shabbat. Yeah.
- 21:03Everybody's waiting for her, the husband, every other kids, She
- 21:06said where you go, He says I went to be my ear.
- 21:09I think it's be my ear trashed the ass out to to the Sperry.
- 21:13I like you went to him go spit in his eyes.
- 21:16Yeah, space. She there she went well, she
- 21:20went to hell with me told her what the what are you doing?
- 21:23What are you doing? She told them her husband told
- 21:26me he said it's OK, I have something in my eye here they
- 21:30were spit. I'm trying making this and you
- 21:33can do it. Don't worry about it and.
- 21:36The rabbi told her to do it, so I'm about that.
- 21:38The husband spit it in my. Eye.
- 21:43And these are two classic crazy cases of women listen to the
- 21:46husband and the rabbi's having his strength.
- 21:49They say it's not going from a bad place, not going from the
- 21:53wrong place, it's coming with their own issue.
- 21:55The more you absorb this and the less struggles we have, it's
- 22:00pretty much most of the time we're dealing with the sane
- 22:04regular people of like minded situations.
- 22:07Be able to undo those fights and really, really dissolve any sort
- 22:12of tension by realizing that any situation I have dealt with
- 22:16these, I don't know what schul type things.
- 22:19I've gone to the guy privately spoken to him, and then it goes
- 22:22away almost every time. All the person needs is little
- 22:26respect. All the person needs is to be
- 22:28valued, is to be, you know, validated.
- 22:31And that's this reflection of the same concept, which means
- 22:33it's not about that comment. It's never about that comment.
- 22:36It's all about the feelings or something else.
- 22:39And the more an individual can handle can't identify this and
- 22:43better off they'll be and more will have a freedom to be
- 22:48studied. That's not be wavering.
- 22:50The problem with the sensitivity of the modern day is that
- 22:53people's days are never stayed. And on when all those people
- 22:57that they do like this. Right, they don't exist.
- 23:00The problem with the modern day is based on the sensitivity.
- 23:03People are up and down, in a good mood, bad mood, hurt,
- 23:07angry, frustrated. You know you can get.
- 23:10If you have this MIDA, guaranteed your mood will never
- 23:14change. Maybe it'll be tired once in a
- 23:16while, but this kind of mood will never change because no one
- 23:19can diminish your existence. No one can make you feel small.
- 23:22There is no small I am why I am. It's not possible.
- 23:25That's the strength, and that's the medial first wants to get
- 23:28to. We'll see.
- 23:29Hello. But that's the Strength tomorrow
- 23:30and many more examples of this concept.
