- 0:15Speaker 1: Can we get this man a nice ashtray? Right? There's
- 0:19Speaker 1: one right there. Let's get him an ash tray? All right?
- 0:21Speaker 1: We got thirty eight special in here. Yes, thirty eight spech.
- 0:24Speaker 1: We have to provide you with an ash tray for
- 0:26Speaker 1: the fire weed that you have been given. I appreciate that.
- 0:29Speaker 1: Some great weed, man. Yeah, my guy's highest draft pussy
- 0:32Speaker 1: right now. Yes, Iam, welcome man, It's good to see you, bro.
- 0:36Speaker 1: First of all, I just want to salute you. Man.
- 0:38Speaker 1: I've been a fan for a long time. You've definitely
- 0:40Speaker 1: been grinding over a decade. I feel like, definitely, what
- 0:45Speaker 1: are we talking fifteen years now? About fifteen? Because what
- 0:49Speaker 1: year did you have to go sit down? Was that
- 0:50Speaker 1: like damn that was two thousand and nine and some shit? Yeah?
- 0:55Speaker 1: Yeah yeah yeah. Was it hard when you because like
- 0:58Speaker 1: I feel like you were buzzing and obviously to go
- 1:00Speaker 1: sit down that was horrible, man, Hell yeah, it was
- 1:02Speaker 1: fucking hard. Do you almost feel like there was like
- 1:04Speaker 1: was there was there a something positive you could took
- 1:07Speaker 1: out of there, like maybe you weren't ready for the
- 1:09Speaker 1: for the shine that was coming at the time. It was. Yeah,
- 1:12Speaker 1: looking back now, definitely I had a lot more living
- 1:15Speaker 1: to do, you know what I mean, a lot of
- 1:16Speaker 1: more things to experience. I had to get more of
- 1:19Speaker 1: an understanding of business. I realized I ain't want to
- 1:22Speaker 1: come in the game that way. Yeah, you know what
- 1:25Speaker 1: I'm saying. I didn't want to be that kind of artist.
- 1:27Speaker 1: You know. I wanted to come into the game a
- 1:29Speaker 1: certain kind of way, which was going to take a
- 1:31Speaker 1: certain kind of route, certain type of time. So look,
- 1:34Speaker 1: I didn't know that at the beginning. You know. I
- 1:36Speaker 1: wanted to get right to where I was going right
- 1:38Speaker 1: then and there skip the steps. Yeah, but the steps
- 1:41Speaker 1: you gotta do ship to make sure that you, you know,
- 1:44Speaker 1: is solid when you get there. Yep. So did you
- 1:47Speaker 1: feel like, because I feel like sometimes artists make a
- 1:50Speaker 1: mistake when they're kind of like one foot in, one
- 1:54Speaker 1: foot out on the rap shit, where it's like, did
- 1:57Speaker 1: that force you to kind of really focus on music more,
- 2:00Speaker 1: take it a lot more serious when you got out
- 2:03Speaker 1: of course, Like I had to make a conscious decision
- 2:06Speaker 1: and ship, Like what did I want to do? And uh,
- 2:10Speaker 1: prior to me making that decision, I always gave most
- 2:14Speaker 1: of my energy to the streets as opposed to music.
- 2:19Speaker 1: You know, even like the titles of your early projects
- 2:21Speaker 1: were like right, it was all you know, out on,
- 2:25Speaker 1: out on bail and custody. Yeah, right ship like that
- 2:28Speaker 1: thirty eight Laws of Powder. But yeah, I'm high as fuck.
- 2:36Speaker 1: What was the question? I was just I was just saying, like,
- 2:39Speaker 1: you know, obviously a lot of artists coming into the
- 2:42Speaker 1: game and they have one foot in, one for out,
- 2:43Speaker 1: Like I feel like sometimes you have a humbling experience
- 2:47Speaker 1: like getting locked up, where you know it might maybe
- 2:49Speaker 1: kind of reprioritize how you see things. Yeah, of course,
- 2:53Speaker 1: man see it like a lot of a lot of
- 2:55Speaker 1: people I could cuss around, Yeah of course. So a
- 2:57Speaker 1: lot of motherfuckers is running around taking extreme resk and
- 3:00Speaker 1: shit like that because they never suffered any consequences. You know,
- 3:03Speaker 1: the younger you are, the more wilder you are moven
- 3:05Speaker 1: reckless because you know, you really ain't experienced any consequences.
- 3:08Speaker 1: And shit me, I'm a person that experienced consequences at
- 3:11Speaker 1: the consequence, which makes me appreciate not halving that face consequences,
- 3:17Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. So until you experience those consequences,
- 3:21Speaker 1: you're not going to have that same appreciation level. So
- 3:24Speaker 1: you know, I definitely have a high appreciation level from
- 3:27Speaker 1: suffering from those consequences, you know what I'm saying. And
- 3:32Speaker 1: I had to make a conscious decision, like I was saying,
- 3:36Speaker 1: to either take music one hundred and ten percent and
- 3:39Speaker 1: give it all and lead out of it shit alone,
- 3:41Speaker 1: which was a very hard decision because I wasn't in
- 3:43Speaker 1: the best position financially, right, and that easy money is
- 3:46Speaker 1: the easy money, right, Yeah, And what you know is
- 3:49Speaker 1: what you know. Yeah, And that's what the sacrifice come in,
- 3:52Speaker 1: you know. And I made those sacrifices, and it was
- 3:54Speaker 1: the best thing that I best decision I made for
- 3:57Speaker 1: my life, you know what I'm saying. I made it
- 4:01Speaker 1: just by having faith, not really having a complete understanding
- 4:04Speaker 1: on how I was gonna capitalize a liquid eate. But
- 4:07Speaker 1: I knew the upside potential as opposed to the upside
- 4:10Speaker 1: of potential of the streets. Right, the potential is like
- 4:12Speaker 1: short term game, but the longside, the long term shit
- 4:16Speaker 1: is jail, death, incarceration. We know the results from that
- 4:20Speaker 1: right now, it's not you know, and you know, the
- 4:23Speaker 1: short term payoff is great. Yeah, of course, of course,
- 4:27Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. But you know that other life,
- 4:32Speaker 1: meaning like the music and the music money, just seemed
- 4:35Speaker 1: a little more intriguing. And it's and it's not. There's
- 4:39Speaker 1: no there's really no one way to do it. And
- 4:43Speaker 1: I feel like you've done a great job of carving
- 4:46Speaker 1: your own way of making like I feel like most
- 4:51Speaker 1: artists look at the music industry as Okay, I'm gonna
- 4:54Speaker 1: get in advance, I'm gonna put out music and i'm
- 4:57Speaker 1: gonna tour. I'm gonna go do clubs, I'm gonna do shows,
- 5:00Speaker 1: as opposed to really turning over every rock if you
- 5:03Speaker 1: have a core fan base, that's there's ways to monetize that.
- 5:07Speaker 1: It really is. And shit, that's what see, if I
- 5:11Speaker 1: was still in the streets, I wanted to magnify those
- 5:14Speaker 1: opportunities by me not being in the streets. I've really
- 5:17Speaker 1: seen that and noticed it. So it left up when
- 5:19Speaker 1: I was in the streets and relying on other areas.
- 5:23Speaker 1: You know, it's easy to leave rocks unturned, you know
- 5:26Speaker 1: what I'm saying. So it's like Okay, let me go
- 5:28Speaker 1: in and figure out how to make some money in
- 5:31Speaker 1: this area, in this area, in this area, because it's
- 5:33Speaker 1: all I have. Yep, I have no other way. And
- 5:36Speaker 1: sometimes you got to put yourself in those positions to
- 5:38Speaker 1: where all you got. If you a hustler, then you
- 5:41Speaker 1: got to put yourself in a position to where you
- 5:44Speaker 1: know you have to hustle. You got to look at
- 5:47Speaker 1: your product. I mean as much as like it's art,
- 5:49Speaker 1: but it's also like a business. You're in the music business,
- 5:51Speaker 1: and I feel like, especially as an independent artist, it
- 5:53Speaker 1: almost expands the way you can make money. If you're
- 5:55Speaker 1: signed on a major label, there's so much red tape
- 5:57Speaker 1: anything you want to do. That's where you could do
- 5:59Speaker 1: whatever the fuck you want. You could drop a project
- 6:02Speaker 1: for three months before it's DSPs and only your fans
- 6:04Speaker 1: get it. You could drop a fucking limited edition vinyl run.
- 6:07Speaker 1: You could do it. So many things you could do that.
- 6:09Speaker 1: I figured that out later on, but at the beginning
- 6:11Speaker 1: of the journey that don't. That's not too like you know,
- 6:14Speaker 1: visible force, of course, you know what I'm saying. So
- 6:16Speaker 1: your first your goals change as you get more knowledge
- 6:18Speaker 1: and stuff. At first, I just wanted to deal. Yeah,
- 6:21Speaker 1: of course, keep your advance, get high and stuff. Back
- 6:24Speaker 1: then that was like definitely still with hard radio era,
- 6:27Speaker 1: that was kind of the way to go back then,
- 6:28Speaker 1: it was definitely the goal. Like, and I didn't understand that,
- 6:32Speaker 1: you know, you didn't need a lot of fans in
- 6:34Speaker 1: order to really like get rich facts. You know, you
- 6:38Speaker 1: just need you just need, you need more fans and followers.
- 6:40Speaker 1: I would take five hundred fans over a million followers.
- 6:43Speaker 1: I would definitely take that because five hundred fans, when
- 6:46Speaker 1: I say fans of people who will spend money with
- 6:48Speaker 1: you, you you can be able to pay your bills. You'll
- 6:49Speaker 1: be able to keep a roof over your head with
- 6:50Speaker 1: those five hundred people if you do it the right way.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Of course. Yeah, yeah, of course you've built waight. I
- 6:55Speaker 1: mean you're you're you're up there, man, you're killing it.
- 6:58Speaker 1: But yeah, it's wild. I do feel like like when
- 7:01Speaker 1: I when you talk to people who've been locked up,
- 7:03Speaker 1: they take it as one or two ways. Either one
- 7:04Speaker 1: they come out and fucked more and situtionalized, or they
- 7:07Speaker 1: get humbled. Andy, it kind of corrects the path when
- 7:10Speaker 1: you were when you were in incarcerated, were you working
- 7:14Speaker 1: on your bars in there. Hell nah, nah, meat man,
- 7:18Speaker 1: I only could move off energy and real life events, right,
- 7:21Speaker 1: I can't really like you were like unmotivated. Yeah, I
- 7:25Speaker 1: don't even write on what I'm doing, Yeah, with my
- 7:27Speaker 1: life doing so I'm gonna either. I ain't want to
- 7:29Speaker 1: write about being in jail. I knew my ship was
- 7:32Speaker 1: natural talent and when I came home that I was
- 7:36Speaker 1: gonna be able to work. And actually when I came home,
- 7:39Speaker 1: you know, I stepped my ship up even more. You
- 7:41Speaker 1: know what I'm saying for was my flow and all
- 7:43Speaker 1: of that without having to practice in jail. It's just
- 7:44Speaker 1: a natural thing. But I ain't work on nothing in jail. Yeah.
- 7:47Speaker 1: Was there like a was there like a scene in
- 7:49Speaker 1: prison of like rappers, like people like kicking ciphers and
- 7:52Speaker 1: they obviously you had a name when you were in there.
- 7:54Speaker 1: Did people know who you were? Yeah? Or they found out? Well,
- 7:59Speaker 1: they were a couple of motherfuckers, was knowing who I was?
- 8:02Speaker 1: And shit, because I was still on the come up there, right,
- 8:04Speaker 1: you were still on to come up? Yeah. So but
- 8:06Speaker 1: I would run across a couple of spinners and ship
- 8:08Speaker 1: like shout out to my homeboy, iron Chic he was
- 8:11Speaker 1: on the battle scene and him had a few sessions
- 8:13Speaker 1: in the in the yard iron Chek. Yeah, shout out
- 8:16Speaker 1: the Iron Chek and ship Man. You know what I'm saying.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Facts you uh, for people who don't know, I feel
- 8:23Speaker 1: like a lot of people if it wasn't Griselda, they
- 8:27Speaker 1: discovered Bennie through you, got through you and you and
- 8:29Speaker 1: you guys doing the Early Collapse table was that twenty fifteen? Yeah,
- 8:33Speaker 1: like the Trust tapes and stuff like that, that that all
- 8:34Speaker 1: that early ship Explain your relationship obviously, both you guys
- 8:39Speaker 1: are from upstate about an hour apart Buffalo, Rochester minutes
- 8:43Speaker 1: our Explain how did you and Benny end up initially
- 8:47Speaker 1: linking up? I used to go to DJ Sha Studio,
- 8:51Speaker 1: Bressing Peace, Bressing Piece to DJ Shit. I used to
- 8:53Speaker 1: go there to record that was like that was Benning
- 8:56Speaker 1: Home Studio and like green and Team Invasion and shout
- 9:00Speaker 1: out to Greenlander and Team Evasion. And they they suggested
- 9:03Speaker 1: that I go out to Buffalo to record at Shape Spot.
- 9:06Speaker 1: So you know, early in my career, like two thousand
- 9:09Speaker 1: and seven, I would go out there and just start
- 9:11Speaker 1: working on my early mixtapes, right, and then me and
- 9:14Speaker 1: Benny would just collapse because that was his home studio,
- 9:16Speaker 1: so eventually it became my home studio as well. And
- 9:19Speaker 1: that's how me and Benny gaked that relationship because I'll
- 9:22Speaker 1: come through there and we just be working and shit,
- 9:24Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying, And uh, that's how I started.
- 9:27Speaker 1: That's how I met Ben, That's how I met Conway,
- 9:29Speaker 1: and you know, the whole, the whole Griselda ship. Yeah,
- 9:32Speaker 1: I think you guys are synonymous with each other, both
- 9:33Speaker 1: of y'all's movements, you know, in terms of like what
- 9:37Speaker 1: y'all do with the fans, what y'all do on the
- 9:38Speaker 1: business side, like and then obviously musically. I think you
- 9:41Speaker 1: guys are very tidy in man, has it has it been?
- 9:44Speaker 1: It's been pretty dope for you just knowing Bennie since
- 9:46Speaker 1: back then to kind of see everything that Benny been
- 9:50Speaker 1: one of my main motivations on my journey and ship
- 9:53Speaker 1: because it was times that you know, on my journey,
- 9:56Speaker 1: I faced so many things that would discourage me from
- 9:59Speaker 1: not you know, knowing how to capitalize off it, that
- 10:03Speaker 1: I would take breaks and watching Bennie he just would
- 10:09Speaker 1: keep going, would keep going, and that was the motivation
- 10:14Speaker 1: I needed, right, So when I seen like the response
- 10:16Speaker 1: he was getting, that motivated me. It was like, oh,
- 10:20Speaker 1: I know it's possible. You know, there's somebody I work
- 10:23Speaker 1: with all the time and I see how they responding
- 10:25Speaker 1: to him. So it's like, oh, let me show on
- 10:27Speaker 1: what I could do too. If Benny ain't keep working
- 10:31Speaker 1: the way he did, I went and I had that
- 10:33Speaker 1: motivation or inspiration to really keep going because like I said,
- 10:38Speaker 1: I wasn't making no money off of it after doing
- 10:42Speaker 1: it for ten years, right, So you know, once I
- 10:45Speaker 1: seen my boy doing actually getting the respect and the recognition,
- 10:50Speaker 1: it was like, oh, okay, we're on or something now.
- 10:53Speaker 1: And that's when I picked my pen back up and
- 10:54Speaker 1: we did stab and shot. That was a great project.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Appreciate that, Yeah, great project. It's stoked because I like
- 11:00Speaker 1: to see watching you go on your recent run and
- 11:03Speaker 1: watching Ransom go on his recent run. It's been dope
- 11:07Speaker 1: to see. And uh, you know, Ransom somebody who's on
- 11:10Speaker 1: your new project, but he's also somebody who I feel like,
- 11:14Speaker 1: you know is has done a really good job of
- 11:20Speaker 1: finessing the independent game to your let like like using
- 11:23Speaker 1: like the positive because you know something like you said,
- 11:25Speaker 1: when you first came into the game, you're trying to
- 11:26Speaker 1: get a record. I think Ransom is somebody who like
- 11:29Speaker 1: is doing a great job of making sure he's super
- 11:32Speaker 1: serving his fans, making sure he don't he don't go
- 11:35Speaker 1: too too long without making sure you hear a project
- 11:37Speaker 1: from him, or you stay on top, like you know
- 11:38Speaker 1: what I mean. So it's dope to see both of
- 11:41Speaker 1: y'all from that era, right you know, really, I feel
- 11:44Speaker 1: like y'all are really catching your stride right now, Like
- 11:46Speaker 1: it's kind of crazy. It is crazy, you know what
- 11:49Speaker 1: I'm saying. It's really it's it's it's motivational, inspirational to
- 11:53Speaker 1: the people that's grinding and let you know, not to
- 11:55Speaker 1: give up, because there's chapters of every of your guys'
- 11:58Speaker 1: careers that are like legendary within themselves, you know what
- 12:02Speaker 1: I mean. So it's like just to see ten, twelve, thirteen,
- 12:07Speaker 1: fourteen years in both of y'all are fucking hitting your peak.
- 12:11Speaker 1: It's like it's dope, and like you said, it is inspirational.
- 12:13Speaker 1: I'm sure for a lot of artists who can watch
- 12:15Speaker 1: them just be like, damn, these dude is really hitting
- 12:18Speaker 1: their stride right now. All these years later. Yeah, we
- 12:22Speaker 1: got to stop the interview real quick to tell you

- 13:54Speaker 1: Benny was a big inspiration, but like just the you know,
- 13:57Speaker 1: I feel like you and you and Grisela have similar
- 14:00Speaker 1: her business models in terms of YO, when we drop,
- 14:03Speaker 1: we're gonna have the merch, we're gonna have the vinyl.
- 14:05Speaker 1: We're gonna make sure that fans can show up and
- 14:08Speaker 1: support us with with where it counts like you might
- 14:12Speaker 1: not pay for the project, but hey, we gotta We
- 14:14Speaker 1: got a hoodie, we gotta TV. Would you say that,
- 14:16Speaker 1: like with what Grisela kind of did, I don't know
- 14:20Speaker 1: who was doing that first, but now well on the
- 14:22Speaker 1: on the merch side and that whole thing that was
- 14:23Speaker 1: definitely Griselta. They they they helped introduce the whole formula
- 14:27Speaker 1: to how to actually capitalize. Shout out to Gun because
- 14:31Speaker 1: shut out the Gun And that's another thing, like you know,
- 14:34Speaker 1: if Gun ain't really do what he did, you know,
- 14:37Speaker 1: I wouldn't have the motivation to really take it serious
- 14:40Speaker 1: as well. I didn't really see that it was money
- 14:43Speaker 1: to be made and really see how to really connect
- 14:46Speaker 1: with the people. And Gun figure that out. You know
- 14:49Speaker 1: what I'm saying, Father, It's like how to actually capitalize
- 14:51Speaker 1: on the fan base and ship, you know what I'm saying.
- 14:54Speaker 1: So so so shout out to the whole Grisetta. So yeah,
- 14:57Speaker 1: yeah that that that that that whole formula is that
- 15:00Speaker 1: whole independent formula started you know with them over there,
- 15:04Speaker 1: you know what I mean? Fowers that way of course,
- 15:07Speaker 1: like definitely definite. You also, uh, you know, you're no
- 15:12Speaker 1: stranger to do in collad project. Shout out to my
- 15:14Speaker 1: guy Chase Fatty who's been through here, you guys had
- 15:17Speaker 1: a dope project together. Who is on your radar that
- 15:21Speaker 1: like if you were there's like an up and coming
- 15:23Speaker 1: artist that you're just fucking with them, Like if you
- 15:24Speaker 1: could do an album with them? Who would have beat this?
- 15:27Speaker 1: You respect? Oh? Man, let me see man, because it
- 15:34Speaker 1: could also be a O G. Just somebody here, Like, man,
- 15:36Speaker 1: if I could do something with this person, be crazy. Man.
- 15:40Speaker 1: I would love to produce an album for Foot of
- 15:42Speaker 1: God as a Z. I would love to produce an
- 15:45Speaker 1: album for a You know what I'm saying, Brooklyn's final
- 15:49Speaker 1: shoutout man, shout out to the God. You know what
- 15:52Speaker 1: I'm saying. As far as new new people, you know
- 15:54Speaker 1: what I mean? Like I pretty much work with everybody
- 15:56Speaker 1: knew that I'm that I'm feeling, man, you know what
- 15:58Speaker 1: I'm saying. And uh, you know what I mean. The
- 16:02Speaker 1: newest people that I'm feeling like, who is applying pressure
- 16:07Speaker 1: lyrically would have to be like Shane or you know,
- 16:12Speaker 1: just off of the simple factor. You know, I have
- 16:14Speaker 1: worked with her and see how she held her own. Yeah,
- 16:17Speaker 1: you guys gotten for sure, you know, and you know
- 16:19Speaker 1: she she held her own with every single one of
- 16:21Speaker 1: us from Ransom Bennie to me and you know we
- 16:24Speaker 1: we we swing. You know what I like is who's
- 16:26Speaker 1: on the BSF album? He was just up here. I
- 16:28Speaker 1: like go to the real too. I like O T too. Yeah,
- 16:31Speaker 1: he got got some real he'd be saying shit in
- 16:36Speaker 1: a way to be hitting. That makes sense, So shouts
- 16:39Speaker 1: to ot Man. Okay, So seven Shots is out for you.
- 16:44Speaker 1: When you like, look at a year, right, let's say
- 16:47Speaker 1: we're January twenty twenty three, do you automatically know what
- 16:50Speaker 1: the year is looking like, like I'm gonna put this out,
- 16:52Speaker 1: this out, this out or you just kind of go
- 16:54Speaker 1: with the flow in terms of like release schedule or
- 16:56Speaker 1: like like it depends on how much I've been working
- 17:00Speaker 1: year prior. You know what I'm saying. If I've been
- 17:02Speaker 1: working a year prior, then yeah, you know what I'm saying.
- 17:04Speaker 1: Like this year, I didn't really have it figured out.
- 17:08Speaker 1: Last year I took a break from uh from the
- 17:11Speaker 1: writing side and focus more on the producing an executive
- 17:14Speaker 1: producing side. So I really ain't have I wasn't really
- 17:17Speaker 1: like just going to work like I usually would do
- 17:19Speaker 1: when I write. You know what I'm saying. I usually
- 17:21Speaker 1: would go make a record put it to the side,
- 17:23Speaker 1: go make records, put it to the side. But I
- 17:25Speaker 1: went all that time without doing nothing before seven shots. Yeah,
- 17:28Speaker 1: so I didn't really know when I was gonna drop
- 17:30Speaker 1: this year. I just woke up one day, hit my
- 17:32Speaker 1: engineer and was like, yo, let's lock in, and we
- 17:34Speaker 1: went to the studio and I recorded the whole album
- 17:36Speaker 1: that day, the whole the whole album that day. Because
- 17:38Speaker 1: I recorded the whole it's eight records, yeah, eight records. Yeah,
- 17:42Speaker 1: I mean so one day. Yeah, I recorded the whole
- 17:45Speaker 1: album that day. That's you know what I'm saying that, Yeah,
- 17:47Speaker 1: And it was a feel. It was a feel like
- 17:49Speaker 1: I like to provide a field, so you know when
- 17:51Speaker 1: I that's how I record. I like to capture the
- 17:54Speaker 1: energy of that time, you know what I'm saying, and
- 17:57Speaker 1: record everything while I'm feeling that energy. And that's why
- 18:00Speaker 1: the projects sound like that. Sonning for you, there's like,
- 18:03Speaker 1: obviously guys like yourself, guys like Rock Marcie, who will
- 18:06Speaker 1: executive produce or produce a whole album for somebody else?
- 18:09Speaker 1: Like what is the approach for when you put your
- 18:12Speaker 1: producer hat on it, and how does it differentiate from
- 18:15Speaker 1: when you are the artist. Uh, well, my producer had
- 18:21Speaker 1: I'm basically more or less like a coach, right, I'm
- 18:25Speaker 1: just sitting there like just watching and and there to
- 18:29Speaker 1: actually like critique, not really just you know, like just
- 18:34Speaker 1: to actually help form whatever it is and make sure
- 18:36Speaker 1: it's the best. You know what I'm saying. As a producer,
- 18:40Speaker 1: I'm not really you know, And you know it's it's
- 18:44Speaker 1: I actually enjoy that a little a lot more than
- 18:47Speaker 1: than than than me than the autist side, you know
- 18:50Speaker 1: what I'm saying. Being the coach. Yeah, you know what
- 18:53Speaker 1: I'm saying, Like you know what I mean. But you
- 18:56Speaker 1: know that's that's I have to put a lot of
- 18:59Speaker 1: time into that when I'm in that mode, you know,
- 19:02Speaker 1: just like on the business side. When I'm in business mode,
- 19:05Speaker 1: I'm in business mode, I really ain't thinking about writing,
- 19:07Speaker 1: no raps or nothing like that, you know what I'm saying.
- 19:09Speaker 1: And when I'm in production mode, I'm bringing out twenty
- 19:13Speaker 1: beats in a day, you know what I'm saying, So
- 19:14Speaker 1: it'd be certain hats when I'm in rap mode, like
- 19:16Speaker 1: right now, I'm rapping. I didn't produce one song on
- 19:20Speaker 1: seven Shots because I'm rapping, you know, So I took
- 19:24Speaker 1: the producer hat off and I'm got yeah, and I'm
- 19:28Speaker 1: just rapping. You know, appreciate y'all watching. But listen, our
- 19:31Speaker 1: partners at blue Cheo they got you handled fellas and ETCeteras.
- 19:35Speaker 1: Whatever you are, they got it. If you got a dick,
- 19:37Speaker 1: blue Choo is for you because they will make sure
- 19:39Speaker 1: your dick performs at all time levels. I mean like

- 19:46Speaker 1: I mean, your wife will thank you for it. Everybody
- 19:48Speaker 1: will think you for it. Shit. Even if you just
- 19:50Speaker 1: take a Blue Cheo and jerk your dick, it's a
- 19:53Speaker 1: it's a stronger jerk, I swear to God, stronger cock jerk.

- 20:20Speaker 1: you got some cockpills for me. Nobody wants to do that. No,

- 20:40Speaker 1: Our producer Cyrus is Daddy's seventy took the Blue Choo.
- 20:43Speaker 1: He's fucking just beating down all the senior citizen pussy
- 20:46Speaker 1: available in Arizona right now. So go to blue choo
- 20:49Speaker 1: dot com, use that promo code Bootleg, or just hit
- 20:51Speaker 1: the link in the description of this video. Let's get
- 20:53Speaker 1: back to the interview. Rochester obviously upstate New York in general,
- 20:58Speaker 1: up until the last maybe seven eight years, I feel like,
- 21:02Speaker 1: you know, very slept on. I mean, you were probably
- 21:05Speaker 1: were you locked up when Amelio started to pop a bit,
- 21:08Speaker 1: when Breaking Point came out. I just came home and shit,
- 21:11Speaker 1: I just came home around that time and shit. But yeah,
- 21:15Speaker 1: because when I think of Rochester, I think of you,
- 21:17Speaker 1: I think of him, I think of Green Lantern. Yeah,
- 21:19Speaker 1: that's how it started. Yeah, with the whole hip hop scene.
- 21:22Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. I remember having the Team
- 21:24Speaker 1: Invasion mixtapes back in the day exactly. Shout out the
- 21:27Speaker 1: Team Invasion selling them out to swat Meet, Shout out
- 21:30Speaker 1: to Greenlander, like Greenlander was like the og of the
- 21:34Speaker 1: town that really like open doors like that let us know,
- 21:37Speaker 1: like okay, oh yeah, Eminem's DJ, jay Z's DJ Naz's DJ,
- 21:43Speaker 1: right and one of the coldest producers, right, And people
- 21:47Speaker 1: don't understand Like, man, I used to sit under Green
- 21:49Speaker 1: and study a lot, Like that's how I know how
- 21:52Speaker 1: to put a project together, you know, I know I
- 21:55Speaker 1: understand it, like how I would want to start and
- 21:57Speaker 1: how I would want to make it end, and like
- 21:59Speaker 1: you know that come from like you know, really sitting
- 22:01Speaker 1: there up under Green. Green Lantern has got my favorite
- 22:04Speaker 1: mixtapes ever, probably and uh he's probably he's probably my
- 22:07Speaker 1: favorite mixtape DJ of all time, to be honest, man,
- 22:09Speaker 1: So shout out to Green that's my dog. He's out
- 22:12Speaker 1: of my hometown now, nay Z doing his thing man
- 22:15Speaker 1: Green Lantern. Man, So I was gonna say, was it
- 22:20Speaker 1: did it work against you? Not being from New York
- 22:22Speaker 1: City and being from that the city in that area.
- 22:24Speaker 1: At first, it definitely it just started working funny. Yeah,
- 22:28Speaker 1: that ain't become cool until you know, recently these last
- 22:32Speaker 1: couple of years. Before then, they they wasn't jack and
- 22:36Speaker 1: that it was so hard, like you know what I mean,
- 22:39Speaker 1: Like New York is real like territorial prideful, yeah, you know,
- 22:46Speaker 1: and that what they rep like, you know they so
- 22:49Speaker 1: it's like they ain't even really like supporting other boroughs.
- 22:54Speaker 1: You know, it's like the Bronx right loan another spy
- 22:58Speaker 1: six hours away, you know what I'm saying. Serious drive
- 23:01Speaker 1: they never even heard of before. So it was real
- 23:04Speaker 1: hard for them to like understand where we was coming from.
- 23:09Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. They didn't understand it because
- 23:11Speaker 1: you know, they didn't understand that you know, these were
- 23:14Speaker 1: stories up here and people really getting busy up here.
- 23:17Speaker 1: They never been up there, never went to the prison system,
- 23:21Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. So you think it's it's
- 23:23Speaker 1: that's gone away recently. Hell yeah, that was the understanding. Yeah,
- 23:29Speaker 1: I feel like, you know, if they understand now, like
- 23:31Speaker 1: like you know, there's another part of New York because
- 23:34Speaker 1: I feel like there's always guys like you know, obviously
- 23:35Speaker 1: Static Select is not from New York, is from Boston,
- 23:38Speaker 1: but I feel like he always would show love on
- 23:40Speaker 1: SHA forty five just to the guys like you know,
- 23:43Speaker 1: the Gris all the guys. That's when I first heard
- 23:45Speaker 1: of them was a Static freestyle and case Leigh you
- 23:50Speaker 1: know definitely. But I feel like now you know, you'll
- 23:52Speaker 1: see Folk Flex show support, you know, and obviously shot
- 23:55Speaker 1: out to Conway for motivating Flex to challenge every New
- 23:58Speaker 1: York rapper to make new music. I'm glad something dope
- 24:02Speaker 1: came out of that situation because it looked interesting in
- 24:05Speaker 1: for a shouts about got conract. But for you man,
- 24:08Speaker 1: like in twenty twenty two, when you put out a project,
- 24:12Speaker 1: what is the like checklist? It's like, Okay, the album's
- 24:15Speaker 1: gonna come out. We got to have the merch together,
- 24:18Speaker 1: We got to have the vinyl together, Like what is
- 24:20Speaker 1: everything that you You got to make sure it's put
- 24:23Speaker 1: together before you put a project out, because like we said,
- 24:25Speaker 1: you're a hustler. You know how to really ulterally monetize
- 24:28Speaker 1: your work, your art. For independent artists that are watching this, like,
- 24:32Speaker 1: what are the things that you make sure are all
- 24:34Speaker 1: aligned before you put something out. I make sure that
- 24:36Speaker 1: the project is you know, I make sure I got
- 24:39Speaker 1: I make sure it's done, and I got all the
- 24:40Speaker 1: assets first, you know, assets meaning like my good artwork,
- 24:45Speaker 1: social media stuff, social media stuff, videos, things that I
- 24:49Speaker 1: could do that I could use to help with my rollout.
- 24:51Speaker 1: You know, I make sure I got all of that
- 24:53Speaker 1: before I go and hire a publicist or somebody that
- 24:56Speaker 1: work it, because you don't want to hire the publics
- 24:58Speaker 1: for everything you chasing, you tell stuff like that. So
- 25:00Speaker 1: the first thing I do is make sure I got
- 25:02Speaker 1: all the assets connected to the project. After I got that,
- 25:06Speaker 1: then I make sure I got all the merchant stuff
- 25:08Speaker 1: you know, in production. And then that's about it. Man.
- 25:14Speaker 1: Once I got all of those things linked up, you know,
- 25:16Speaker 1: I make sure that I'm with a good distributor to
- 25:18Speaker 1: make sure I could get some proper visibility on right,
- 25:23Speaker 1: maybe some playlists pitching, you know what I'm saying, which
- 25:26Speaker 1: is very important. And that's about it. Once I got
- 25:30Speaker 1: those things, and you know, I don't you know, I
- 25:32Speaker 1: make sure I turn the music in at least thirty
- 25:36Speaker 1: days or more prior to me releasing and give the
- 25:38Speaker 1: digital peoples enough time to do what they need to
- 25:41Speaker 1: do with it, like you can't just like us sometimes
- 25:43Speaker 1: as all this, we'll lock ourselves into a date, be
- 25:45Speaker 1: like I'm wanna drop next week. Just get them the
- 25:48Speaker 1: music and stuff, you know, you want to actually really
- 25:50Speaker 1: turn stuff in, you know, and then come up with
- 25:53Speaker 1: the date. Yeah, because if you've come up with the
- 25:55Speaker 1: date and the album's not mixed master turned in, then you,
- 25:58Speaker 1: like you said, you handcuf yourself to a day and
- 26:00Speaker 1: right for artists who don't know, like you, definitely want
- 26:02Speaker 1: to turn your shit in thirty days prior for the
- 26:04Speaker 1: DSPs at least at least you know, at least you
- 26:08Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. So yeah, that's that's about that.
- 26:11Speaker 1: How does somebody get vinyl made? Is that? Is that
- 26:16Speaker 1: hell right now? Because I heard it's really tough. It's
- 26:18Speaker 1: hard as hell right now. Man, So if you it's right, yeah, man,
- 26:23Speaker 1: So listen, Vinyl is like gold man. You know, y'all
- 26:27Speaker 1: get y'all good piece of vinyl. Them things going up
- 26:29Speaker 1: in value, they are, people are collecting them and they're
- 26:32Speaker 1: going to are collecting them. Shut out to the collectors, man,
- 26:34Speaker 1: y'all go on these on e Bay and stuff. Y'all
- 26:36Speaker 1: gonna see some pieces of vinyl in there that's selling
- 26:40Speaker 1: for thousands of dollars and shit like that. Man. You know,
- 26:42Speaker 1: so when I get ready to drop seven shots, y'all
- 26:45Speaker 1: make sure y'all stand in line and get a piece
- 26:47Speaker 1: of this because it's only going to be a limited amount.
- 26:50Speaker 1: And you know they ain't gonna do nothing but go
- 26:52Speaker 1: up in price. It's like, you know, all other valuable things.
- 26:56Speaker 1: We gotta stop the interview tell you about our partners

- 28:39Speaker 1: to people. How about that, You didn't listen to the

- 28:45Speaker 1: to it. What about Kendricks? You listen to Kendrick's album? Definitely?
- 28:47Speaker 1: I heard not I heard. I heard like what was
- 28:50Speaker 1: on a radio like with him and the chit going
- 28:52Speaker 1: back and forth. I thought that shit was called him
- 28:54Speaker 1: in the check. I didn't go listen to it, though.
- 28:56Speaker 1: I'm kind of with when it comes to music, right,
- 28:58Speaker 1: I gotta have like I'm not unreal. I don't know, bro,
- 29:03Speaker 1: I'm a little weird and shit when it comes to me,
- 29:04Speaker 1: I don't listen it. Like that's fair? Like that? What
- 29:07Speaker 1: about who would you consider your top like four or five?

- 29:16Speaker 1: Just MC's all time Cougie rap I put at the
- 29:21Speaker 1: top of the list. Yeah, obviously escites ain't in no order,
- 29:24Speaker 1: but you rap start first, you know what I'm saying. Yeah,
- 29:27Speaker 1: you've obviously got music dedicated to him. Shot the coolgie
- 29:29Speaker 1: rap shit whole, not just from lyrical content, from from
- 29:37Speaker 1: from the field, everything everything, fuck it. Yeah. Oh nahs
- 29:42Speaker 1: for creativity, fucking rewind Man like creativity, like I got
- 29:47Speaker 1: different rappers, that's for different things. Tupac for emotion pain Yep,
- 29:53Speaker 1: that was the first person that made me feel something

- 30:40Speaker 1: I mean Ship, Biggie and Tupac. We could say that
- 30:42Speaker 1: about three of them, right Ship A whole different landscape
- 30:45Speaker 1: of this whole game, bro, that's fun. It be insane. Man,
- 30:48Speaker 1: what you got coming? Do you have anything else coming?
- 30:50Speaker 1: The rest of the Year or anything out in the books,

- 30:56Speaker 1: I'm working seven shots. But I got some ship. I
- 30:58Speaker 1: don't know if I want to announce it yet because
- 31:00Speaker 1: I don't know when it's coming. But what I can

- 31:09Speaker 1: Is coming out twenty twenty three, y'all get ready for that.
- 31:12Speaker 1: Has Conway convinced you to visit him in Denver yet? No?
- 31:15Speaker 1: I ain't go out there yet. He's pretty much living
- 31:17Speaker 1: there now. I went and saw him last month. He
- 31:21Speaker 1: fucking fell in love with Denver and it's just not lie.
