  We're a married couple that does a show together, are now a

  podcast together, and we have a daughter that's seven.

  So Father's Day was yesterday, and here's how we celebrate it.

  So every year we have a tradition in the house where my

  daughter will dress up as one of my beloved characters.

  And it's a surprise that Kristen has to kind of figure out how to
• 0:35
  dress her up and make her look like any of the a lot of pop
• 0:38
  culture characters. If you didn't see the last
• 0:40
  episode, yeah, it's basically I, I like a lot of pop culture
• 0:44
  nerdy stuff from the 80s and 90s and now.

  And each year she'll dress up as something that I love.

  And so this year she dressed up. I, I did not expect this at all.

  And I think it's it was far down the list of what I not not of
• 0:58
  the things I love because it's one of the top things that I
• 1:01
  really love. But it was far down the list of
• 1:03
  the things I would guess OK that it.

  Would be. I figured you would not guess

  this. I could have had 10 and I
• 1:08
  wouldn't have like I wouldn't have jumped onto this, but I'm

  glad you went with this. So Ace Ventura pet detective,

  Yes, this is great. The shirt you had her in the

  Where'd you even get those pants?

  Yeah, so there's a there's a kids Ace Ventura kit.

  But but the outfit's the real. So she has like the Hawaiian

  shirt, she has the striped pants, she has the belt and the

  wig that has like a little slip up.

  I the only thing that I thought of was like Ninja Turtles.

  So I was like, maybe April O'Neil from Ninja Turtles, but

  then you're like, easily recognizable.

  And I was just like, I don't even want, I don't even want to

  think about it. So like, and a character that

  she wouldn't know. So it wasn't like Superman or

  Star Wars. And so it's like, but she

  doesn't know a lot of my references.

  And as we were seeing her, like, as I was seeing her dressed up,

  I'm like, would she watch this movie?

  Would she enjoy Ace? Ventura.

  Ace Ventura is awfully silly, yes, but obviously, like the

  whole twist, yeah, it's about genitalia and all this kind of

  stuff and like I. Don't think she'll.

  Get that? Yeah, she won't get the story,

  but she'll think he's kooky and silly, and so she'll probably

  enjoy that. But if you want to sit through

  then be my guest. Yeah, I think that's like a 12

  or 13 year old once you start getting into the immature kind

  of thing. But maybe they, I don't know.

  We got to give her Jim Carrey. We haven't given her any Jim

  So like the mask? OK, so I want to say this really

  quick. So that was the costume I was

  going to the mask. The mask?

  Yeah, the all yellow like zoot suit looking thing.

  OK, nice. And but I told her I was like,

  we're going to have to paint your face because they do have a

  mask like mask, but it's like a full face.

  And I just think that that would have freaked her out.

  Yeah, and it would take the cuteness.

  Away it would take the cuteness because you want to see her face

  and her just in the zoot suit like doesn't really I don't know

  it doesn't convey it and. So I was like.

  So I told her I was like, we have to paint your face green

  and and she's like, I really don't want to do that.

  I know. And I was like, it has to be
• 3:45
  green. And like, that's what we're
• 3:47
  doing. And then I even looked into, OK,

  well, what does the mask look like when it's not on him?

  Maybe she could just be holding it like about to put it on and

  it's the Loki mask. And I looked it up and it was
• 3:59
  like $80 on Amazon. I was like, Nope.

  So I was like, what other like, fun Jim Carrey thing could I do

  'cause you love Jim Carrey and I'm like all the movies.

  That. Cable I thought about cable guy

  couldn't find like a good cable guy outfit and and then it like

  hit me like a brick. I was like, Oh my God, Ace
• 4:18
  Ventura is like, like, you just know the outfit, you know the
• 4:22
  hair. Like it just works.

  It did. It worked.

  So well done. Yeah.

  I feel like, I feel like we should address it.

  Yeah. So, you know, a spoiler alert,

  We don't get up at midnight and record this podcast at the day

  So we just got back from our Father's Day activities, which

  was going to the beach and then we went into a river and looked

  for rocks. And so we got up at 7:00 AM or

  something like that. I made, we made Nick breakfast

  in bed and then at that point we like got ready and we left the
• 4:57
  house at like 9:30-ish, got to the beach at 11:30 'cause it's a
• 5:02
  2 hour drive. We played around for a little
• 5:04
  bit, had a little lunch and just played on the beach and was
• 5:07
  walking and doing all that stuff all day playing in the water.
• 5:10
  And then we had a little dinner and then we saw a like a river.
• 5:14
  And so we're like, oh, let's go look for that.
• 5:16
  And so we spent like an hour doing that and I got home and we
• 5:20
  drove. Two hours and then we.
• 5:21
  Drove 2 hours to go home and so we just got home.
• 5:23
  I jumped in the shower to wash the river and ocean off of me.
• 5:28
  Was the greatest shower of my life.
• 5:30
  I saw all the parts of me that didn't get sunblocked like I
• 5:34
  have AV on my chest, the tops of my feet.
• 5:38
  I always forget to put suntan lotion.
• 5:40
  There's like a perfect V because I was wearing sandals.
• 5:44
  Got a little Bunny little Red Nose.
• 5:46
  I got a little Red Nose yes, I like have a splinter in my
• 5:50
  finger. I don't know how to get it out
• 5:52
  from a piece of wood that I fell on.
• 5:53
  So you. Fell on a piece of wood.

  No, I'd say I didn't fall on a piece of wood, but like I was, I

  was looking in the rock area and I like braced myself on this

  wood and I kind of slid my hand and I went, oh, shouldn't have

  done that. Yeah.

  And I have a tiny, tiny little like sliver, but I don't know if
• 6:09
  I could even get it out at this point.

  So. I'm sure I can help you with

  that. We'll pull it out afterwards.

  It it's like I don't know how to even it's so small, so it's a

  part of you. So anyways, I've given up.

  This is I just got out of the shower.

  I'm in my PJS, I'm in my oversized little.

  Part Again If you ever wanted to know what Kristen looked like

  right before bed, this is what it.

  Looks like yeah. This is it.

  Add a CPAP mask on top. Of that add some headphones and

  a CPAP mask and I'm good to go. But yeah, so like Nick, I get

  out of the shower and I'm wearing this and he's like I

  mean are you going to wear that for the podcast?

  I was like 100% give it up because you know what?

  You know. Don't you dare judge me.

  Yeah, nobody cares. They want to see the Brits.

  I was out in the sun. I didn't put any sunblock on at

  forgot about it, brought it with me and everything.

  Did myself when you guys were out walking around.

  And I was like, great. And then he was like, we should

  do sunscreen. And I was like, great, yeah.

  And then I was like, did you do it?

  And he was like, no. And I was like, well then.

  Both of them are fine. Kristen's burned, so we also

  went Berry picking on Saturday. It was a very eventful weekend

  it. Was very busy.

  Oh, what you did this weekend. But we kept busy.

  I also filled in at the Ponderosa, which is a nightclub

  here in town, and I was the DJ for the night for Drake
• 7:53
  Milligan, who's a country artist.

  And it went well. It was cool.

  And I realized afterwards there was drunk ladies there.

  Yeah, as there happens to be, of course.

  And I, my dad is now start. I've reached the age where Dad

  has shown up to events where. You're like.

  Girls. Well, there's girls that are

  dressed scantily clad and there was one girl that like came up

  to the booth that was drunk and requested a song and it was her
• 8:18
  birthday and her name was Lily. And I was like shut down.

  I was like, is somebody taking you home?

  Like it's like I need you to step.

  Back. You're like, girl, get a
• 8:27
  sweater. Yeah.

  Are you? OK, like you need to like signal

  twice. Like also I'll play your stupid

  song, but like, get your life together.

  I mean, aren't you? Don't you go, It's midnight,

  young lady, She should be home. And then.

  I'm like, so you're telling me I don't need to worry about you at

  the Country Club? I wasn't really particularly

  Yeah. And then there was girls hanging

  out. And, like, it ended up probably.

  I don't know if they did. They were awfully close to

  At the end of the night, they were the only ones left in the

  bar. And I was like, you guys better

  get home responsibly. Like this.

  Seems like you guys are out late.

  It's 1:00 in the morning. Let them have a story.

  I know, And then I got jealous because I was like, man, I never

  like sat back and like banged a celebrity.

  So not that I ever had the option or that was like

  something on the table. But, you know, harder for guys.

  Yeah, I was like, there's no, there's no girl.

  Well, cuz they have a girl. There's no.

  Sbarina. Carpenter's not picking him out

  in the show and then being like backstage passes, I bet you.

  But there was a fiddle player that was a female and all the

  guys stayed around, stayed back, all the like other parts of the

  Stayed back and like hung with the ladies and she was like

  dressed and left. Yeah, we're not interested.

  That's when I realized the girls don't sit back to try to like

  pick up the strays. Like I would imagine that the

  strays are a lower, even lower class at that point, right?
