- 0:29SPEAKER_01: Reporting for duty.
- 0:31SPEAKER_01: Happy Friday.
- 0:33SPEAKER_01: That's the second time I've done that.
- 0:35SPEAKER_01: I think I've said that before.
- 0:36SPEAKER_01: I don't love it either.
- 0:38SPEAKER_01: Glad you're here.
- 0:40SPEAKER_01: As usual, my ladies.
- 0:42SPEAKER_01: And gentlemen.
- 0:44SPEAKER_01: And the gentlemen.
- 0:45SPEAKER_01: Potentially.
- 0:46SPEAKER_01: Potential gentlemans.
- 0:48SPEAKER_01: Dude, I've seen you in like two weeks.
- 0:51SPEAKER_01: Actually, this is the first time that me and Liz are seeing each other in about two weeks, which is unheard of.
- 0:56SPEAKER_01: Which technically, if you count FaceTime, we've seen each other every waking moment.
- 1:02SPEAKER_00: But where have you been?
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: Tell us briefly.
- 1:08SPEAKER_00: I went to Wilmington, North Carolina for a few days.
- 1:12SPEAKER_00: And I went for a photography retreat, which was very nice.
- 1:15SPEAKER_00: I met some sweet ladies.
- 1:19SPEAKER_01: I feel Did you did you plug the podcast while you were there?
- 1:23SPEAKER_01: No.
- 1:24SPEAKER_01: They're not gonna tune in.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: We need to hit this thing global.
- 1:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I need to work on that, but I also don't want people knowing that's that's so terrible.
- 1:36SPEAKER_01: No.
- 1:37SPEAKER_01: Alyssa's scared.
- 1:38SPEAKER_01: Wait, have you done a voice reveal on well?
- 1:41SPEAKER_01: I guess this podcast was voice reveal.
- 1:45SPEAKER_01: She never posted her voice ever on Instagram before.
- 1:48SPEAKER_01: And then it turned into like scared of it.
- 1:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and then it's like you couldn't just like post anything to reveal your voice.
- 1:55SPEAKER_01: Like so this podcast was the first one.
- 1:58SPEAKER_00: No one else was like waiting for any kind of reveal.
- 2:02SPEAKER_01: No, no, no, no.
- 2:03SPEAKER_00: This was me in my own head sabotaging myself.
- 2:07SPEAKER_01: But the fact that you like realized that no one has ever heard your voice on social media.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: That happens though with other people.
- 2:17SPEAKER_00: I'm like, they'll talk on their stories or something for the first time.
- 2:20SPEAKER_00: Like, yeah.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: That is not what I thought they're gonna sound like.
- 2:23SPEAKER_01: That's a crazy voice.
- 2:24SPEAKER_01: Like it, I I understand completely what you're saying.
- 2:29SPEAKER_01: Anyways, well, I'll be going to Wilmington.
- 2:32SPEAKER_01: Gonna basically be doing the same trip.
- 2:34SPEAKER_01: Are you going to Wilmington?
- 2:35SPEAKER_01: I'm flying into Wilmington.
- 2:36SPEAKER_01: And then I my flight gets there at like 8 45 a.m.
- 2:40SPEAKER_01: So I kind of have like at least half a day in Wilmington.
- 2:45SPEAKER_01: So because I think we're waiting on some other girls to like meet us over there.
- 2:48SPEAKER_00: Well, I'll give you my coffee card, go to social coffee.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: I actually, believe it or not, sat by a young, handsome man on the way there.
- 2:59SPEAKER_00: On the plane?
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 3:01SPEAKER_00: It was just us two in the row.
- 3:03SPEAKER_00: What the heck?
- 3:04SPEAKER_00: Oh boy, did we hit it off?
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: Really?
- 3:06unknown: No.
- 3:07SPEAKER_00: Oh.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: He asked me to move, and then that was the last time.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: Because I was I was sitting in the middle and he was sitting in the window, and I got there before him, and he asked me to get up and move.
- 3:17SPEAKER_00: And then that was the last time we spoke.
- 3:20SPEAKER_01: Was you hold on a second.
- 3:23SPEAKER_01: So your seat was.
- 3:25SPEAKER_00: You know, I don't know exactly how cute he is.
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: I didn't actually look him in the face.
- 3:28SPEAKER_00: It's very brief, and then we were too close for me to turn and look at him.
- 3:32SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 3:33SPEAKER_00: So I don't know.
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: But he was like roughly my age, handsome build.
- 3:39SPEAKER_01: Hold up.
- 3:39SPEAKER_01: So you were sitting in your seat, correct?
- 3:42SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: And he asked me to get like he didn't say, can you move?
- 3:46SPEAKER_00: But he asked me to get up so he can get to his seat at the window.
- 3:50SPEAKER_01: Oh, I thought that okay.
- 3:52SPEAKER_01: I've so I thought that you were sitting there in the middle seat.
- 3:57SPEAKER_01: He had his window seat, and then like you guys were sitting there for blah blah blah, whatever.
- 4:01SPEAKER_01: Oh, he thought.
- 4:02SPEAKER_01: And he asked you to, hey, would you kindly move to the end seat since we're the only two and like we cannot just have this middle seat in between us?
- 4:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: Is what I thought that that's I should have done that, but yeah, he was probably wondering why we realized that there wasn't gonna be another person until it was too late, and then I felt weird.
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: Who knows?
- 4:20SPEAKER_00: With these airlines these days, you probably can't.
- 4:22SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I didn't know the vibe, so I just stayed there trying to mind my own business, but that reminds me of the time that I was on the plane, I was already having just like so much plane anxiety, and it's crazy because I usually really like flying, and I sat by this young guy, and I was like, how do you say profiling because he was just dressed kind of scary and like he was reading these books, which I've come to realize that the book was a classic, I think it was called like Dante's Inferno or something.
- 5:00SPEAKER_01: I thought it was like a demonic, which maybe it is, who knows?
- 5:04SPEAKER_01: Sounds like it.
- 5:05SPEAKER_01: But I thought that it was like he was reading like witchcraft demonic stuff on the plane next to me, and then he started like scribbling in his notepad, and I'm like I was so scared.
- 5:18SPEAKER_01: I've never been like more scared on a flight, and then we had turbulence.
- 5:21SPEAKER_01: Oh wait, no, no, no.
- 5:22SPEAKER_01: That flight was easy, and then on I think it was either on the way back, it was turbulent.
- 5:29SPEAKER_01: Anyways, that has nothing to do with the price of cheese.
- 5:34SPEAKER_00: I also wanted to bring up the squirrel drama again.
- 5:38SPEAKER_01: You have to pull up screenshots to read.
- 5:42SPEAKER_01: And is it safe for us to post?
- 5:45SPEAKER_01: I I it can't she can't do anything to me.
- 5:50SPEAKER_01: You guys, this this is the craziest thing.
- 5:54SPEAKER_01: So I don't even remember where I left off.
- 5:57SPEAKER_01: I think we just like briefly brought up that the lady was crazy.
- 6:02SPEAKER_00: Yeah, the lady was crazy, and then I like reached back out to see like, hey, is it so okay if I bring him?
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: And she said, basically, you can't have him.
- 6:14SPEAKER_00: It's been more than 24 hours, you need to get rid of this squirrel, it's legally not allowed.
- 6:18SPEAKER_00: I was like, Yeah, I know, that's why I'm reaching out.
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: And then I just didn't like that lady, so I didn't want to bring it there.
- 6:26SPEAKER_00: So I found somewhere local, actually, and so I brought it to her.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: She was super nice.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: She's been sending updates of Henry.
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: And then I think that same night, the night that I brought the scroll somewhere, this lady says, Hi, this is Lori with so-and-so.
- 6:47SPEAKER_00: I'm not gonna out them.
- 6:49SPEAKER_00: Sorry for the late text.
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: Our director asked me to contact you about a scroll you have.
- 6:54SPEAKER_00: Can you send me some pictures, please?
- 6:56SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: Said, Hi Lori, thanks for reaching out, and I'm sorry that I missed your call last week.
- 7:01SPEAKER_00: I was able to finally find someone local to my area who was able to take him in this morning.
- 7:06SPEAKER_00: And then she said, Can you tell me who that was, please?
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: That was at 9 23.
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: I was gonna say timestamps.
- 7:14SPEAKER_00: I didn't answer her because Well, first of all, I was eating dinner with my family, and second of all, why would I give this lady someone's information?
- 7:25SPEAKER_00: Phone number and whatever.
- 7:28SPEAKER_00: And so I didn't answer.
- 7:30SPEAKER_00: 9 23, she said that 1008, she said, please do not make this harder than it needs to be.
- 7:35SPEAKER_00: I need the name and number of who took the squirrel.
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: It is illegal to possess wildlife without a license in Florida.
- 7:40SPEAKER_00: My director will follow up.
- 7:44SPEAKER_00: And so I was with my mom and mom grabbed the phone.
- 7:49SPEAKER_00: She's like, let me answer her.
- 7:51SPEAKER_00: It's like, mom, please just like don't send anything.
- 7:54SPEAKER_00: Let me see.
- 7:55SPEAKER_00: I'm not trying to start a fight with this people, these people.
- 7:59SPEAKER_00: Next thing you know, she's walking outside, she's on the phone with a lady, gotten to a fight with her, said that they were all crazy.
- 8:07SPEAKER_00: She took care of it, stop contacting this number, or else she's gonna call the police.
- 8:13SPEAKER_00: Well, because they threatened to get law enforcement.
- 8:17SPEAKER_00: Well, she's like, okay, well, we're gonna send Florida Wild or the whoever to your door, so expect a visit over the scroll that I don't even have.
- 8:29SPEAKER_00: And so I blocked those people.
- 8:33SPEAKER_00: Oh, and on the phone, the lady's like, hello.
- 8:37SPEAKER_00: And mom's like, hi, is this Lori?
- 8:40SPEAKER_00: She's like, Yes, who is this?
- 8:41SPEAKER_00: She's like, This is Alyssa's mom.
- 8:44SPEAKER_00: And then she's like, Well, how old is Alyssa?
- 8:47SPEAKER_00: And mom's like, She's in her 20s.
- 8:50SPEAKER_00: And basically the lady was saying, like, oh, and she said that yeah, as if like, oh, she's so she's an adult and she's having her mommy call for her.
- 9:03SPEAKER_00: First of all, I didn't.
- 9:04SPEAKER_00: I was that was first of all.
- 9:06SPEAKER_00: Mommy wanted to take the call herself.
- 9:07SPEAKER_00: Mommy took my phone out of my hands.
- 9:11SPEAKER_00: Man, then I was shaken up.
- 9:13SPEAKER_00: Thought the cops were gonna come.
- 9:14SPEAKER_00: They never did, they can't do anything.
- 9:17SPEAKER_00: You don't have the squirrel.
- 9:19SPEAKER_00: So I blocked Chris, I blocked Lori, I blocked their organization from my personal Instagram, business Instagram, Facebook, in Good Faith Podcast Instagram.
- 9:33SPEAKER_00: They is not contacting me.
- 9:36SPEAKER_01: To threaten law enforcement to show up at your house over a baby squirrel.
- 9:41SPEAKER_01: It's like, bro, is so insane.
- 9:43SPEAKER_00: If I truly wanted to keep it as a pet, why would I be contacting?
- 9:46SPEAKER_01: Exactly.
- 9:46SPEAKER_01: You think like this is like vice versa, vice versa?
- 9:49SPEAKER_00: Like and they thought I was just I was just looking for help.
- 9:53SPEAKER_00: I actually I found somewhere.
- 9:55SPEAKER_00: I'm like lying.
- 9:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 9:57SPEAKER_00: Oh, we took care of it.
- 9:59SPEAKER_00: Don't worry.
- 10:00SPEAKER_00: I don't have the squirrel.
- 10:01SPEAKER_00: I have a lot of.
- 10:04SPEAKER_00: What would Florida wildlife to do?
- 10:07SPEAKER_00: You can look in my house.
- 10:08SPEAKER_01: There's no driving all the way out to mom and dad's house, like they're gonna be like, I what?
- 10:14SPEAKER_01: We're not doing this.
- 10:15SPEAKER_01: It would cost more to drive out there than to write a ticket.
- 10:18SPEAKER_01: Like, yeah, so hopefully that was the end of that.
- 10:21SPEAKER_01: But y'all, if you we won't obviously share the business, but on the business Google, there are so many negative reviews all saying this lady, yes, it it's like it's a great organization, but like the people that want to want to say anything negative because they are doing great things for the animals, but this lady is wicked, bad, anyways, nasty, nasty.
- 10:47SPEAKER_00: So, guys, keep Chris in your prayers.
- 10:49SPEAKER_00: That's to the Lord.
- 10:51SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but oh my gosh.
- 10:54SPEAKER_01: Well, I don't really have any life updates.
- 10:56SPEAKER_01: It was really just the squirrel story that I really wanted you to share.
- 11:01SPEAKER_01: I've I ordered a boat and tote.
- 11:03SPEAKER_01: I thought you said a boat.
- 11:06SPEAKER_01: I just got a yellow fin 24-footer.
- 11:10SPEAKER_01: No, I ordered a boat and tote LLB boat and tote, and I ordered one for my trip.
- 11:16SPEAKER_01: Well, I had it in the mindset to travel or the mindset to travel with.
- 11:21SPEAKER_01: So I got the medium boat and tote with olive green straps, long straps with a zip top, and then I got it customized, and then it said it wasn't gonna be here till November 2nd.
- 11:32SPEAKER_01: So then naturally trip next week.
- 11:35SPEAKER_01: Dates, please.
- 11:37SPEAKER_01: 22nd through the 25th.
- 11:39SPEAKER_01: So naturally I went to Dillard's just to you know, browse, and I ended up buying another one.
- 11:47SPEAKER_01: So I brought it to this lady logo here and she embroidered it for me.
- 11:50SPEAKER_01: So you already have it?
- 11:51SPEAKER_00: Yep, it is picked up and ready to go, and it's so adorable.
- 11:55SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I didn't see your LL beam, you said?
- 11:58SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
- 11:59SPEAKER_00: I didn't see that one, but this one's cute.
- 12:02SPEAKER_01: Oh, yeah, I didn't show you that other one.
- 12:04SPEAKER_01: We haven't, I mean, we've talked while you're on your trip, but I didn't share like my sacred details like that.
- 12:10SPEAKER_00: And then the second leg of my trip, I flew from Wilmington, North Carolina to Atlanta, Georgia.
- 12:15SPEAKER_00: That airport is a scary, scary nightmare.
- 12:19SPEAKER_00: I thought I was in New York City, but inside.
- 12:23SPEAKER_00: Terrifying.
- 12:25SPEAKER_00: People were pushing me on the train, like the little train.
- 12:30SPEAKER_00: But we went to my family's golf tournament that they put on every year.
- 12:36SPEAKER_00: Super fun.
- 12:37SPEAKER_00: I did terrible, but it was fun.
- 12:39SPEAKER_00: And it was nice to see everybody.
- 12:42SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 12:43SPEAKER_01: Wait, did I say I don't think I've shared this because it just happened, but I got a pepper, like a red pepper, which it's only like this big, so it's nothing special.
- 12:54SPEAKER_01: But I'm getting distracted because there's people I can feel like I'm talking about.
- 12:59SPEAKER_01: But anyways, I don't even know how to I don't know how to prepare one pepper and just ten tomatoes.
- 13:08SPEAKER_00: Just um do like a like eat them raw with a dip.
- 13:12SPEAKER_00: Maybe.
- 13:13SPEAKER_00: Maybe, maybe.
- 13:15SPEAKER_01: I've been making some pretty good really cute little oh sorry.
- 13:19SPEAKER_01: I don't No, you're fine.
- 13:20SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 13:21SPEAKER_01: I've been making some cute bandana zipper bags.
- 13:25SPEAKER_01: People are like, girl, please stop talking.
- 13:27SPEAKER_00: Just launch them already.
- 13:28SPEAKER_01: No, I already we already talked about my last launch, but I have some really cute zipper bags.
- 13:34SPEAKER_01: I've been loving the bandana print, and I made a trick-or-treat tote.
- 13:38SPEAKER_01: I don't know anyone that triggered treats, but surely the children are trunk or treating.
- 13:43SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but life is life in dancing with the stars last night.
- 13:47SPEAKER_00: I didn't I watched like the first couple dances, but I didn't watch the back half, but I saw who went home.
- 13:55SPEAKER_00: Oh yeah.
- 13:56SPEAKER_00: Did you watch Harry and Jenna?
- 13:59SPEAKER_00: I didn't watch their full dance, but I saw Carrie Ann starting up on her.
- 14:03SPEAKER_00: You saw the beef.
- 14:05SPEAKER_00: A lift.
- 14:05SPEAKER_00: Yeah, Jenna's like, and then A lift.
- 14:07SPEAKER_01: Yes, a lift is when No, they had already moved on from her, and then Oh, I only saw the clip.
- 14:14SPEAKER_01: No, they moved on to Alfonso's like Derek and Derek starts talking, and then Carrie Ann's like, hold on, hold on, hold on.
- 14:21SPEAKER_01: Let me just say this.
- 14:22SPEAKER_01: And then Derek's like, dang.
- 14:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:23SPEAKER_01: And then pulled up the definition.
- 14:26SPEAKER_01: Audience was silent.
- 14:28SPEAKER_01: Derek said, dang.
- 14:30SPEAKER_00: And Jenna's just like and I saw someone's like a comment on someone's stuff.
- 14:38SPEAKER_00: It's like, what number do I text to vote Carrie Ann off?
- 14:41SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 14:43SPEAKER_00: For real.
- 14:44SPEAKER_00: I love her, but I also like she drives me nuts.
- 14:47SPEAKER_00: And why why were they so terrible to Connor?
- 14:50SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 14:51SPEAKER_00: Why did he get sixes?
- 14:53SPEAKER_00: It doesn't make any sense.
- 14:55SPEAKER_01: And I love great.
- 14:56SPEAKER_01: I love Tyler, I truly do, but like, he did good.
- 15:00SPEAKER_01: He did really good.
- 15:01SPEAKER_01: If Tyler got sevens, Connor should have got sevens then.
- 15:06SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 15:07SPEAKER_00: At the very least.
- 15:08SPEAKER_01: Because the sixes were uncalled for.
- 15:11SPEAKER_01: And I hope he wins just to spite every every you know naysayer.
- 15:16SPEAKER_01: Carry-Ann.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: Anyways.
- 15:19SPEAKER_00: Okay, so today we're talking about working in the wedding industry as a single girl.
- 15:26SPEAKER_01: Dude, that worked out perfectly.
- 15:28SPEAKER_01: What?
- 15:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 15:30SPEAKER_01: We've just always kind of found ourselves like working in this space, and we don't even know how we got here.
- 15:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 15:39SPEAKER_00: How did you well I just started doing photography and naturally I feel like that leads into wedding photography eventually?
- 15:47SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 15:48SPEAKER_00: That's where the guapoton's at.
- 15:50SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 15:50SPEAKER_00: You know what I'm saying?
- 15:53SPEAKER_00: And so how what are your thoughts?
- 15:54SPEAKER_00: Like, how do you feel?
- 15:56SPEAKER_00: Are you like does it affect you negatively?
- 16:00SPEAKER_01: No, I don't think so.
- 16:01SPEAKER_01: I have just always, whether I've been in a wedding, a part of a wedding, doing something creatively for a wedding, do you remember whenever I used to help that lady, Jamie, with Can you get closer to your oh wait, never mind.
- 16:17SPEAKER_00: That was my microphone.
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: That wasn't.
- 16:19SPEAKER_01: Do you remember that lady?
- 16:21SPEAKER_01: Sorry.
- 16:21SPEAKER_01: Do you remember that lady Jamie that I used to do all this like signage and lettering for?
- 16:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 16:26SPEAKER_01: For like seating tarts and stuff?
- 16:28SPEAKER_01: Bro, I had like my own little like niche thing.
- 16:35SPEAKER_01: That was so crazy.
- 16:36SPEAKER_01: That was actually I didn't enjoy that very much.
- 16:40SPEAKER_01: That was hard.
- 16:41SPEAKER_01: Did you make good money from doing that?
- 16:43SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 16:44SPEAKER_00: No.
- 16:45SPEAKER_01: It's like$50.
- 16:47SPEAKER_01: No.
- 16:47SPEAKER_01: I actually don't know how much I charged her.
- 16:50SPEAKER_01: No clue.
- 16:52SPEAKER_01: And then I've been like a day of coordinator.
- 16:56SPEAKER_01: Who let me do that?
- 16:58SPEAKER_01: Well, I know who.
- 17:00SPEAKER_01: Lou is a friend, but that's crazy.
- 17:02SPEAKER_01: So I just feel like I've literally always been something to do with the wedding.
- 17:07SPEAKER_01: I'm there.
- 17:08SPEAKER_00: You worked at the bridal shop.
- 17:10SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah.
- 17:11SPEAKER_01: I worked at Angelique's.
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: That was a crazy job.
- 17:15SPEAKER_00: I think I haven't been in weddings stuff like as much as you have.
- 17:20SPEAKER_00: But I attend more weddings than you now.
- 17:23SPEAKER_00: As a guest?
- 17:24SPEAKER_00: No, as a photographer.
- 17:25SPEAKER_01: Oh, I'm like, what are you talking about?
- 17:27SPEAKER_01: I'm invited to like all the weddings that you're invited to.
- 17:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you were a part.
- 17:32SPEAKER_01: See, that's the part that I don't like.
- 17:34SPEAKER_01: Is like I the nice thing about my job now is that I'm behind the scenes and I leave.
- 17:40SPEAKER_01: Like I don't even see ceremony.
- 17:43SPEAKER_01: And it's so like it's such a different, like I have different kind of stress, but like that, I could not be a vendor.
- 17:50SPEAKER_01: I would hate to be a vendor, in fact.
- 17:52SPEAKER_01: Really?
- 17:53SPEAKER_01: I would hate it.
- 17:54SPEAKER_01: I could not be a photographer.
- 17:55SPEAKER_01: I get anxiety just when I like walk out of the office and I'm like, I just don't even feel like I should be there.
- 18:01SPEAKER_01: I'm like, hello.
- 18:03SPEAKER_01: Like I just get overwhelmed with all the people.
- 18:08SPEAKER_00: I'm like, they'll be like, no, no, you get what you need.
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 18:13SPEAKER_00: Really?
- 18:14SPEAKER_00: I feel like photographers, that's like that's their top priorities.
- 18:18SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 18:18SPEAKER_01: And then they'd be yelling at everybody else.
- 18:21SPEAKER_01: I don't yell at once.
- 18:22SPEAKER_01: No, no, no, no.
- 18:23SPEAKER_01: I mean like the family.
- 18:26SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 18:27SPEAKER_00: One of the last weddings I did though, they didn't have like a day of coordinator or planner, so I got that's not a little frazzled.
- 18:39SPEAKER_01: It's not fair.
- 18:41SPEAKER_01: But I think like it's just the irony of it all is funny.
- 18:47SPEAKER_00: Like it's so funny, I forgot to laugh.
- 18:52SPEAKER_01: No, but it's just funny, like, because from a young age, like I've just always wanted to, like, I don't know, be married, be a wife, have kids, be a mother.
- 19:05SPEAKER_01: And like that was, and I've said this before on the pod, but like that was just that's that is what I want.
- 19:12SPEAKER_01: That's my dream job.
- 19:14SPEAKER_01: And it's funny how I've worked every angle of a wedding except for the angle of being the bride.
- 19:23SPEAKER_01: Question mark.
- 19:26SPEAKER_01: So like, ha ha ha, let's look at the humor in it.
- 19:30SPEAKER_01: But it's like you actually have to look at it that way.
- 19:35SPEAKER_01: And it's not even something, and we said this, but it's not even something that we necessarily like set out to do.
- 19:44SPEAKER_00: I didn't want to do weddings.
- 19:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 19:46SPEAKER_01: And then it's just something that we happened upon.
- 19:49SPEAKER_01: So I'm like, well, there's gotta be a reason to have like this strong of a desire, and then like have God like open because I remember praying so hard for like a door to open, and a door did, and it happened to be at a wedding venue.
- 20:02SPEAKER_01: And I really truly didn't even think anything of it.
- 20:05SPEAKER_01: Like, I thought more so that I was gonna meet a gramsman, which you don't even see them.
- 20:10SPEAKER_01: I yeah, I don't even see them, and I've yet to see one that I am attracted to, so I don't know.
- 20:18SPEAKER_00: Me neither, and I mostly interact with them.
- 20:20SPEAKER_01: It's actually not true.
- 20:21SPEAKER_01: I saw one the other day that was cute, and Katie's like, yeah, his wife thinks so too.
- 20:27SPEAKER_01: He had a wedding band on.
- 20:28SPEAKER_01: I was like, hey, dang it.
- 20:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but it's like maybe God is using this environment to shape like our thoughts and a perspective on marriage and weddings.
- 20:46SPEAKER_00: Yeah, yeah.
- 20:48SPEAKER_00: I like genuinely, I know I I haven't even been in a relationship, so it's like really crazy that I'm a wedding photographer, but I just love them.
- 21:01SPEAKER_00: It like makes me very happy to see these people like get married.
- 21:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 21:07SPEAKER_01: I'm like, man, this is the best day of their lives.
- 21:09SPEAKER_01: I was talking to a photographer about that yesterday.
- 21:13SPEAKER_01: She was saying, like because I was saying she's like, I've never seen you around here.
- 21:17SPEAKER_01: I'm like, yeah, I'm usually hidden away in the back office.
- 21:21SPEAKER_01: Like, I take care of this side of things.
- 21:23SPEAKER_01: And she was just saying how like it's funny how this is just work to us, and then for someone, like, you're telling me this is the happiest day of their life going on right now?
- 21:37SPEAKER_00: Well, I get like enthralled in it all, and I'm like you go.
- 21:42SPEAKER_00: I get attached to the people there.
- 21:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah, like I'll never see these people again.
- 21:46SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you're like, wait, I thought I th I thought I was a guest.
- 21:50SPEAKER_00: And then they text me one day and it's just where's my pictures?
- 21:53unknown: Yeah.
- 21:54SPEAKER_00: It's never how are you?
- 21:55SPEAKER_01: It's never, hey, how have you been?
- 21:57SPEAKER_01: It's let's get together for a second.
- 21:59SPEAKER_01: When can I explain?
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: Back to my wedding photos.
- 22:01SPEAKER_00: It's been three weeks.
- 22:03SPEAKER_00: Yeah, literally today someone did that.
- 22:05SPEAKER_01: Golly.
- 22:06SPEAKER_01: I thought we were cool.
- 22:08SPEAKER_01: Well, uh, my first like point is, and we can talk about it as much as we can, but celebration and lawn lawn care.
- 22:21SPEAKER_01: Celebration and longing can coexist.
- 22:25SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 22:26SPEAKER_00: I'll celebrate with you all day long.
- 22:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 22:29SPEAKER_00: It doesn't mean I don't still want it and I'm not like a little bit sad for myself in the background.
- 22:36SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and it's like you you have these prayers and these desires, and I feel like it's actually kind of sweet to see how, well, I say sweet.
- 22:51SPEAKER_01: After I'm peed off for a little bit, I'm just kidding.
- 22:56SPEAKER_00: That's actually pretty sweet, Lord.
- 22:57unknown: Yeah.
- 22:58SPEAKER_01: After I've cried it out.
- 23:00SPEAKER_01: No, I'm totally kidding.
- 23:02SPEAKER_01: But it's like when you see someone else's desire and prayer become answered, like it gives you hope.
- 23:11SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 23:11SPEAKER_00: That's kind of where I'm at with it.
- 23:13SPEAKER_00: I'm like, I see what you've done for them.
- 23:17SPEAKER_00: This is so cool.
- 23:19SPEAKER_00: Like, and to hear how they meet and all this stuff, it gives me like a glimpse of what could be my in my future.
- 23:29SPEAKER_01: And that's I don't know where I heard this or what.
- 23:37SPEAKER_01: No, I saw this on social media where it was like, and I probably did tell dummy.
- 23:43SPEAKER_00: I know what you're talking about.
- 23:44SPEAKER_01: Yes, I don't even know how to put it into words.
- 23:45SPEAKER_01: Hold on.
- 23:46SPEAKER_00: What now I know you see a couple together holding hands down the street, like instead of it being like a sting and a stab, like just a little glimpse of what your future can hold.
- 24:00SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 24:01SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 24:03SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 24:04SPEAKER_00: And that's what it is for me mostly.
- 24:08SPEAKER_00: I will say the part that gets me in my feels is like after the wedding or after the event or photo shoot or whatever it is.
- 24:19SPEAKER_00: And like the couple leaves together, all the families leave together, all the other couples leave.
- 24:25SPEAKER_00: Everyone has somewhat.
- 24:34SPEAKER_01: After the show, after the Grammys, I like to go cool out with the family.
- 24:38SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 24:40SPEAKER_00: Literally.
- 24:41SPEAKER_01: Sipping reminiscent when I is there anyone in here?
- 24:44SPEAKER_01: I forgot that there might be someone walking behind.
- 24:47SPEAKER_00: That's when I get a little bit sad.
- 24:48SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, absolutely.
- 24:51SPEAKER_01: Does that ever happen to you whenever you're coming home from well, a wedding?
- 24:55SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I just literally just said that.
- 24:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 24:57SPEAKER_01: As a guest though, specifically, not you in your camera bag.
- 25:01SPEAKER_01: Like sometimes I'll where have I been to?
- 25:07SPEAKER_01: You know where I felt crazy was at Katie's wedding, like I felt so single.
- 25:16SPEAKER_01: Well, I was.
- 25:18SPEAKER_01: But I I think I was where was where did I say?
- 25:22SPEAKER_01: Oh yeah, I stayed in a hotel room by herself.
- 25:25SPEAKER_01: I'm my lonesome.
- 25:29SPEAKER_01: That that was the that was that moment.
- 25:35SPEAKER_01: No, the one that I would have shared it with was it was her wedding.
- 25:39SPEAKER_01: So she's usually who I would share a hotel room with, and it was her actual wedding.
- 25:45SPEAKER_01: Hey guys, do you mind if I um?
- 25:48SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 25:50SPEAKER_01: So yeah, I totally get those moments.
- 25:52SPEAKER_01: And I was doing the math today.
- 25:54SPEAKER_01: I was I was running the numbers, and I've been a part of which this is like to some girls, like this is nothing, but I've been a part of seven weddings.
- 26:03SPEAKER_01: To me, it's a lot because that's about the extent of the friends that I have.
- 26:07SPEAKER_01: Like it's just every single one of them.
- 26:09SPEAKER_01: And like all my close friends are married with kids.
- 26:12SPEAKER_01: So it really truly is so it is so crazy.
- 26:16SPEAKER_01: I never thought that I would be the last man standing.
- 26:20SPEAKER_00: And here she is.
- 26:22SPEAKER_00: That just means your man is more developed.
- 26:24SPEAKER_00: He's working on himself, he's working on his relationship with the Lord.
- 26:29unknown: Yeah.
- 26:29SPEAKER_01: Oh, wait, I see well seasoned.
- 26:31SPEAKER_01: Okay, I saved this.
- 26:33SPEAKER_01: Or so they tell me.
- 26:35SPEAKER_01: Or so everyone keeps telling me.
- 26:37SPEAKER_01: Okay, this I haven't read the whole thing, but this is God is preparing you for a sacred man, and I hope you're using FLOCUS.
- 26:46SPEAKER_01: Social media.
- 26:47SPEAKER_01: Oh, I thought someone sent this to you.
- 26:49SPEAKER_01: Dang, I need that.
- 26:50SPEAKER_01: No, prophetic, right?
- 26:51SPEAKER_01: No, it's from a book.
- 26:52SPEAKER_01: It's called His Missing Rib, or maybe this is a poem.
- 26:55SPEAKER_01: I'm assuming it's a book, book by Elaine Sophia, but it says, God is preparing you for a sacred man, and I hope you're using this season to become the woman who will stand beside him.
- 27:05SPEAKER_01: A union created and protected by God requires a woman who uses her time wisely, who understands that delay is not denial, and that her presence alone can transform the man God has chosen for her.
- 27:20SPEAKER_01: God is probably looking at you both right now, thinking, not yet.
- 27:24SPEAKER_01: Because he's refining you for each other.
- 27:27SPEAKER_01: When you walk with this level of intention, everything falls into divine order.
- 27:32SPEAKER_01: God wants you to sit with yourself until your intuition becomes sharp.
- 27:37SPEAKER_01: That sucks.
- 27:39SPEAKER_01: God wants you to sit with yourself until your intuition becomes sharp enough to sense what is best for the one he's chosen for you.
- 27:47SPEAKER_01: To recognize people with impure intentions before they ever try to approach your home.
- 27:52SPEAKER_01: A wise woman knows not everyone deserves access to what is sacred.
- 27:57SPEAKER_01: As you wait with intention, remember this delay is one of the most divine moments of your life.
- 28:04SPEAKER_01: It's your time to prepare for the duties God has written for you.
- 28:08SPEAKER_01: While he works hard to provide, God wants you to work on your own goals, to build the body.
- 28:14SPEAKER_01: Oh, I didn't know.
- 28:16SPEAKER_01: To build the body you've dreamed of, to nurture your gifts so he can align the two of you in his timing.
- 28:22SPEAKER_01: Did that mean physical?
- 28:25SPEAKER_00: Or was that like I'm snatched when I meet my husband?
- 28:28SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 28:29SPEAKER_01: I haven't been using this time.
- 28:31SPEAKER_01: Why is I've been in the gym working on my fitness?
- 28:34SPEAKER_01: He's my witness.
- 28:36SPEAKER_01: Or Fergie is really making Jesus.
- 28:41SPEAKER_01: Anyways, but I save that.
- 28:43SPEAKER_01: I didn't even read the whole thing until just now.
- 28:45SPEAKER_01: But it's like as hard as it is, I just have to, I gotta really lock in.
- 28:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 28:54SPEAKER_00: Because I don't want to like as much as I do one husband, like, what if I met him tomorrow and he's like, girl, you wouldn't even get together.
- 29:06SPEAKER_01: No.
- 29:06SPEAKER_01: That's the thing.
- 29:07SPEAKER_01: It's like, how amazing would that be to meet him tomorrow?
- 29:11SPEAKER_01: But I would be like, err.
- 29:13SPEAKER_01: Let me come back in two months.
- 29:15SPEAKER_01: Let me get myself.
- 29:17SPEAKER_01: But it's like, I just still feel, and maybe that's like the reject a spirit of rejection.
- 29:21SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't know what that is, but like it almost feels like it's just like I'm not like I have things that I deal with in my own head where I'm like, do I wanna do I want to bring this into a marriage?
- 29:35SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't even know.
- 29:37SPEAKER_01: Like, am I mature enough mentally and spiritually to like be in a marriage and like actually like not be a baby?
- 29:46SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 29:48SPEAKER_00: And then like, am I mature enough if I was married to raise good children?
- 29:54SPEAKER_01: Did you just get a text from an 863 number?
- 29:57SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 29:58SPEAKER_01: I'm so sick of these ballot people.
- 30:03SPEAKER_00: Oh no.
- 30:03SPEAKER_01: How did you get my lose this number?
- 30:08SPEAKER_01: Gosh, I don't want to vote for you.
- 30:10SPEAKER_01: Actually, I don't even know who it is, but yeah, in the moment, back to like celebration and longing, like it kind of goes like a perfect metaphor would be like being at the wedding and then like leaving the wedding, like we were saying, like having that quiet time to just like sit and like oh my gosh, I wish it was me.
- 30:31SPEAKER_00: But it doesn't take away my happiness for those people getting married because genuinely, like I just be smiling the whole time.
- 30:40SPEAKER_01: Girl, I'd be dancing so hard.
- 30:42SPEAKER_01: Like in the moment I said the only thing on my mind is celebrating them.
- 30:47SPEAKER_01: Like it's so fun.
- 30:48SPEAKER_01: It's like they prayed for this too.
- 30:50SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's not just us.
- 30:52SPEAKER_01: I'm not like alone.
- 30:53SPEAKER_01: The main character.
- 30:54SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 30:56SPEAKER_01: And there is a difference between jealousy and longing.
- 31:00SPEAKER_01: Like, I'm not jealous.
- 31:02SPEAKER_01: I'm not jealous.
- 31:05SPEAKER_01: I wouldn't want to trade my life for anyone else's life, except for potentially Kendall Jenner.
- 31:13SPEAKER_01: I'm not sure.
- 31:13SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 31:14SPEAKER_01: I'm not sure.
- 31:16SPEAKER_01: She got a good thing going right now with Jacobi Lordy.
- 31:20SPEAKER_01: I'm totally kidding.
- 31:21SPEAKER_00: He's not spiritually mature.
- 31:23SPEAKER_01: Yes, I know, Alyssa.
- 31:24SPEAKER_01: I'll do anything for a laugh.
- 31:27SPEAKER_01: No, but yeah, I do feel like there's a huge difference between like wanting that for yourself, but like wanting that, like wanting the right guy and like wanting to do things the right way, and like wanting a guy who I feel like is emotionally, mentally, spiritually mature.
- 31:47SPEAKER_01: And it's like I'm not jealous, but I can long.
- 31:51SPEAKER_01: But it's like my own, it's like I'm not long for your stuff.
- 31:56SPEAKER_01: I want my own dreamline.
- 31:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so that's kind of what I have written down for that part.
- 32:03SPEAKER_01: And then okay, this is this is the kicker.
- 32:09SPEAKER_01: Milestones and timelines.
- 32:12SPEAKER_01: That's where that part right there.
- 32:15SPEAKER_01: That part.
- 32:16SPEAKER_00: Period dot.
- 32:17SPEAKER_01: I hate a timeline.
- 32:18SPEAKER_01: I hate a clock.
- 32:21unknown: You do.
- 32:23SPEAKER_01: Cause I don't I don't know.
- 32:26SPEAKER_01: I don't, I don't know.
- 32:27SPEAKER_00: Pressure, pressure, pressure.
- 32:29SPEAKER_00: It's like, yeah, you're on your own, your own timeline, yada, yada, yada.
- 32:33SPEAKER_00: But also as a woman, like, you do run out of time to have children.
- 32:41SPEAKER_00: And that's where that uh gets me a little messed up because I think after 30 it's considered a geriatric Yeah.
- 32:52SPEAKER_00: Geriatric pregnancy.
- 32:54SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but like No, I will be geriatric.
- 32:57SPEAKER_00: Well, maybe not.
- 32:58SPEAKER_00: I still have two, like I'm 28 still, so I have about a year and a half to make things happen.
- 33:08SPEAKER_00: See, but that that's the that's that's what you're saying.
- 33:12SPEAKER_00: Like that's what we're talking against.
- 33:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah, you literally just had it happen to you live.
- 33:18SPEAKER_01: No, but it's like even you know, I'm gonna bring this back to weddings.
- 33:22SPEAKER_01: Even with like a wedding, you gotta stay on this timeline.
- 33:26SPEAKER_01: And if one thing is like out of place on the timeline, like everyone starts yelling.
- 33:31SPEAKER_01: It's like you know, like you're a photographer.
- 33:33SPEAKER_01: Like, if there's like certain things like not done in this timeline, like everyone starts freaking out because you're not on the timeline.
- 33:40SPEAKER_01: And it's like the same thing applies for life.
- 33:42SPEAKER_01: You like what I did there?
- 33:44SPEAKER_01: I thought that was like yeah, I just like applied it from wedding because we're talking about weddings, but in life, I'm so sick of the timelines.
- 33:51SPEAKER_01: Like, I'm it's not even I'm I'm not even condemning other people, like I'm sick of doing it to myself, like it annoys me.
- 34:00SPEAKER_01: Like, why do I like try to stick to this timeline?
- 34:06SPEAKER_01: And I have written down here, like talking about like milestones and like seeing other people like reach these milestones.
- 34:14SPEAKER_01: I daily at the wedding video, like one thing that's hard is I work with couples who are a lot younger than me.
- 34:21SPEAKER_01: Like I sent this 20s, like I sent this girl an email the other day.
- 34:27SPEAKER_01: Actually, I mailed her, booked her, but I sent this girl an email, and I'm like, there's no way.
- 34:34SPEAKER_01: Let me do the math quickly here, but I'm pretty sure because her email said something about 2026, my goodness.
- 34:45SPEAKER_01: Whoa.
- 34:46SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh.
- 34:48SPEAKER_01: No, she couldn't have been.
- 34:50SPEAKER_01: She could have been.
- 34:51SPEAKER_01: She couldn't have been 19.
- 34:55SPEAKER_01: She couldn't have been 19.
- 34:58SPEAKER_01: I'm doing it live right now, too.
- 35:01SPEAKER_01: Live reaction.
- 35:02SPEAKER_01: I thought that she was 21, but she's actually 19 that I booked the wedding menu for.
- 35:07SPEAKER_01: Baby girl just graduated high school.
- 35:09SPEAKER_01: No, she couldn't.
- 35:11SPEAKER_01: Do you graduate can you graduate college at 19?
- 35:13SPEAKER_00: I don't know.
- 35:14SPEAKER_01: I thought that her when was Isaiah born?
- 35:16SPEAKER_01: 2003?
- 35:18SPEAKER_01: Maybe that was what her email is, but I swore her email said so-and-so, so-and-so, 20 or 2007.
- 35:27SPEAKER_01: But it might have been 2003.
- 35:31SPEAKER_01: Regardless, regardless, there's no time on the kids.
- 35:33SPEAKER_00: I was like young and you're getting married.
- 35:35unknown: It's fine.
- 35:35SPEAKER_01: I was a fully functioning kid, like kind of old.
- 35:39SPEAKER_00: She didn't even like know that you could get married at that age when I was that age.
- 35:47SPEAKER_00: I yeah, at that age I was I was just putsying.
- 35:53SPEAKER_01: I was still having sleepover.
- 35:54SPEAKER_00: No, but like that's the timelines again, like your timeline is so different.
- 35:58SPEAKER_00: If you're 19 and you're at the place to get married, then it's your time.
- 36:04SPEAKER_01: And it's like if you're 31 and it's the place to get married, that's your time.
- 36:10SPEAKER_00: It's just like as a 31-year-old looking someone more than 10 years old.
- 36:15SPEAKER_00: You compare Yeah.
- 36:18SPEAKER_01: And then it's like works the opposite way, where you know someone like or you meet someone that or on social media, it's like, I got married, I found the love of my life at 53.
- 36:36SPEAKER_00: It's like, uh, awesome.
- 36:38SPEAKER_01: Oh my gosh.
- 36:39SPEAKER_00: That's not what I want to that is extremely exciting for you.
- 36:45SPEAKER_00: And it is, but like the Lord knows my heart.
- 36:48SPEAKER_00: I don't want to get married at 53.
- 36:52SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and so it's like there's milestones both ways, and like I just I I want to be able to like not look at milestones of other people and like be okay with it, which I am okay with it, but it's just like it baffles you and it stops you in your tracks and it makes you think about like where you are personally.
- 37:12SPEAKER_01: And then like I called mom the other day.
- 37:14SPEAKER_01: I'm like, I just need like an outside opinion.
- 37:18SPEAKER_01: Like, am I doing something wrong?
- 37:20SPEAKER_00: But it's also like mom doesn't relate because she got married.
- 37:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah, no, what, 22?
- 37:25SPEAKER_00: 21.
- 37:26SPEAKER_00: It's like she doesn't get it.
- 37:28SPEAKER_01: 22, maybe?
- 37:29SPEAKER_01: I don't know.
- 37:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 37:32SPEAKER_01: And this is another thing that I think is funny is date availability at venues.
- 37:38SPEAKER_01: Like, people are booking into early 2028 because like just venues, like they just don't have dates.
- 37:44SPEAKER_01: Like, there's so many people getting married right now.
- 37:46SPEAKER_01: Like, we just don't have dates.
- 37:47SPEAKER_01: And I I always make the joke, like, whenever people bring up dates and stuff, I'm like, yeah, I always joke around and I'm like, do I need to start looking?
- 37:56SPEAKER_01: I'm not even in a relationship.
- 37:57SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, genuinely though, but do I?
- 38:03SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so like that's another hard thing.
- 38:06SPEAKER_01: And then you just start doing the math, you start running the numbers, and it's like, okay, so if I meet someone tomorrow, that's still what?
- 38:20SPEAKER_01: Like six months to a year for an engagement, and then after that, six months to a year for like the the time of your engagement to your wedding.
- 38:30SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, oh my gosh, you're gonna be like freaking 34.
- 38:36SPEAKER_01: And then you're like, okay, sure, 34.
- 38:39SPEAKER_01: And then you start spiraling about the children thing.
- 38:43SPEAKER_00: The children is what really sets me off.
- 38:46SPEAKER_00: It's just you, it's before I would have loved to be married for like five or six years.
- 38:51SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 38:52SPEAKER_00: At this point, we're cranking them.
- 38:56SPEAKER_00: Nine months after the wedding.
- 39:00SPEAKER_00: JK.
- 39:02SPEAKER_01: And it goes back though to who cares?
- 39:06SPEAKER_00: Like, it's I want to be spending like it's me who cares, and I just but it's like that's where I want to get out of this.
- 39:14SPEAKER_01: I want to get my head out of the toilet bowl and just like be able to, like this thing said, like, I want to be becoming the wife.
- 39:25SPEAKER_01: I want to be becoming the mother.
- 39:27SPEAKER_01: I want to be like mature.
- 39:28SPEAKER_01: I want to like, I'm doing a scripture memory thing, and I'm like, you know what?
- 39:32SPEAKER_01: I'm I'm gonna remember scriptures so that way whenever my kids are having a bad day, I can send them this.
- 39:37SPEAKER_01: It's like I want to actually be working to become that person.
- 39:43SPEAKER_01: Then you just get all caught up in work in life and everything, and it's just hard.
- 39:52SPEAKER_00: But learning not to measure my life and the quality of it based on how others experience things is what where my head's at right now, and it brings me back to the whole there's a season for everything in Ecclesiastes, like there is there is, and I just know that one day, like you know how you're like looking forward to something for so long, and then all of a sudden it's like a grease.
- 40:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah, oh, that was already three years ago, and we were looking forward to it so much.
- 40:30SPEAKER_00: That's what our singleness is gonna be like, yeah, it'll be a blank.
- 40:34SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh, can you believe that we're talking about this before?
- 40:38SPEAKER_00: And now we're married to the hottest guys alive.
- 40:42SPEAKER_00: Oh my gosh.
- 40:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I was gonna say it'll be a like uh just in a blink that we like look back, and it'll all feel like a blink, but it's like it's like right now, like a slow mo blink kind of like it's a pretty long blink, like maybe a little nap.
- 40:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like a 10-minute nap is what it might feel like looking back.
- 41:01SPEAKER_00: Six-minute power nap.
- 41:03SPEAKER_01: But you know what?
- 41:04SPEAKER_01: The Lord, he literally has he knows it all, he has his perfect will for my life, and I just have to keep believing that.
- 41:13SPEAKER_00: Are there any like things that people say to you that like bug you when it comes to that?
- 41:23SPEAKER_00: Like at the wedding venue, or just no, just like pe married people's advice to you.
- 41:30SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I won't get into all that.
- 41:32SPEAKER_01: Oh if you're single, it's like you already know.
- 41:39SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't even need to go over it, and I don't know how many single listeners we have, but it's like the married advice.
- 41:52SPEAKER_01: I don't I have it's not something I've never heard of standards.
- 41:57SPEAKER_01: It's I've heard it all.
- 41:58SPEAKER_00: I know it all.
- 41:59SPEAKER_00: Just go on dates.
- 42:01SPEAKER_00: Well, I'm not gonna go on a date with a loser.
- 42:04SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 42:08SPEAKER_00: I know it will come when I least expect it.
- 42:11SPEAKER_01: I saw this video the other day on social media.
- 42:14SPEAKER_01: It was the past for like basically that was the sermon.
- 42:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 42:17SPEAKER_00: It'll come when you're not looking for it or when you stop looking for it.
- 42:20SPEAKER_00: Not once have I ever found something that I ain't looking for.
- 42:26SPEAKER_00: There you go.
- 42:27SPEAKER_00: Period.
- 42:27SPEAKER_00: Period.
- 42:29SPEAKER_00: We got our eyes peeled, don't you worry.
- 42:31SPEAKER_01: What are some things that the wedding industry and like working in the wedding industry has taught you?
- 42:38SPEAKER_00: Go with the flow.
- 42:39SPEAKER_00: Your day is not gonna be perfect, my love.
- 42:42SPEAKER_00: Actually, that is good.
- 42:45SPEAKER_00: Every single wedding, like something has gone wrong.
- 42:47SPEAKER_00: The last wedding I worked, they didn't realize that cake was not delivered.
- 42:54SPEAKER_00: The baker got the dates mixed up.
- 42:56SPEAKER_00: There was no cake for the cake cutting.
- 42:58SPEAKER_00: And so they ran the cake over and did it really quick.
- 43:02SPEAKER_00: The baker did?
- 43:03SPEAKER_00: Mm-hmm.
- 43:04SPEAKER_00: It's like dang.
- 43:06SPEAKER_00: So go with the flow, be easy breezy.
- 43:10SPEAKER_00: It's not gonna matter that much.
- 43:13SPEAKER_00: As long as you're married at the end of the day.
- 43:15SPEAKER_00: It's yeah, it's kind of what I say then.
- 43:19SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna be a nightmare on my wedding bridezilla.
- 43:23SPEAKER_01: I said that there's a difference between a beautiful wedding and a happy marriage.
- 43:30SPEAKER_01: Oh, period.
- 43:31SPEAKER_01: Isn't that good?
- 43:33SPEAKER_01: Yeah, I feel like working at a wedding venue, you see behind the scenes, like in planning sessions.
- 43:42SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't do planning sessions, but the venue consultants do, and like they're like, dude, they're fighting the whole time.
- 43:49SPEAKER_01: And then like one of them stormed off, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah.
- 43:52SPEAKER_00: And then, like, and that's not a reflection on their whole what their marriage is gonna be.
- 43:56SPEAKER_01: No, no, you know what you mean.
- 43:57SPEAKER_01: But there was something the other night that Happened where I have to think about this to see if yeah, I'm I don't know these people, but there was like a wedding where I think like the bride like there was like a fight and they broke up the night of their wedding that you worked?
- 44:20SPEAKER_01: I wasn't, I mean I was I was working that day, but they I'm not there at the night, but I got to work the next morning and I said good morning.
- 44:28SPEAKER_01: And I I guess it happened to be the bride, she's like good morning, and like huffed past me into the bridal stream.
- 44:35SPEAKER_01: I'm like, oh.
- 44:36SPEAKER_01: And then I went in the office and they told me that they broke up the night of their wedding.
- 44:42SPEAKER_01: And then like there was like I forget exactly what the words were.
- 44:47SPEAKER_01: But like just really mean words were spoken like from like the bride and groom, and like the one of the groom's parents, or was it the bride's parents, said like their son or daughter would be lucky to not marry you.
- 45:03SPEAKER_01: You need to crawl up wherever you blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.
- 45:09SPEAKER_01: So it's like oh about a week later, wedding photos posted on Instagram.
- 45:18SPEAKER_00: So they didn't break up.
- 45:20SPEAKER_01: No, I guess they can't.
- 45:22SPEAKER_00: Well married.
- 45:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah, but it's like not the simple no mo.
- 45:26SPEAKER_01: Yeah, exactly.
- 45:27SPEAKER_01: It's like you don't know what goes on behind the scenes.
- 45:33SPEAKER_01: And it's like that I take.
- 45:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah, yeah.
- 45:36SPEAKER_01: Like there's so many things.
- 45:38SPEAKER_01: Like I feel like so many couples have so much work to do, but they're just in a rush to get down the altar.
- 45:44SPEAKER_01: Like they just want the wedding, they want the photos, they want to be the misses or the mr.
- 45:49SPEAKER_01: And like do the work first.
- 45:55SPEAKER_00: That is a word, my dear.
- 45:58SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 45:58SPEAKER_00: That's good.
- 46:00SPEAKER_00: Oh.
- 46:03SPEAKER_01: I feel this is my last note that I wrote down.
- 46:11SPEAKER_01: This is maybe a hot take, especially for someone working in the industry, but like I feel like the wedding industry almost like takes advantage of everyone who like romanticizes their wedding day.
- 46:27SPEAKER_01: Does that make sense?
- 46:29SPEAKER_01: Like, whether that's pricing, whether that's you need this, except for photography prices, those are pretty like uh fair and reasonably priced, especially if you book Alyssa Rydell photos.
- 46:42SPEAKER_01: Yes.
- 46:43SPEAKER_01: But like I feel like you're fed all the stuff that you need to have for your wedding day.
- 46:48SPEAKER_01: Like you need this, you need this, you need that, you need to do this.
- 46:52SPEAKER_00: It's almost like fear-mongering.
- 46:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 46:54SPEAKER_01: And it like makes you have like this, you I feel like we have this huge how did I word it?
- 47:04SPEAKER_01: Like these really high standards for a wedding.
- 47:11SPEAKER_01: But I said like comparing like to the marriage a wedding to the marriage itself, like how do we keep high standards without creating like unrealistic expectations?
- 47:26SPEAKER_01: And what I mean by that is like you see all the things on Pinterest, you see all the TikTok girls saying you need this and that, and like you just the movies, like you have this huge idea of like what your wedding should look like.
- 47:40SPEAKER_01: And then if you don't do it how they do it, it almost feels like it's I don't know, not as good, like not as good or something.
- 47:48SPEAKER_01: But it's like for my wedding, I want to I don't want to spend a million dollars.
- 47:56SPEAKER_01: I don't even want to spend ten thousand dollars.
- 47:58SPEAKER_01: I know that's probably unheard of, but it's like I don't want to do that.
- 48:02SPEAKER_01: I want to spend as little as I can, but I also have very high standards and expensive taste.
- 48:09SPEAKER_01: Yeah, so it's like I just feel like you can create like this really amazing, intimate wedding that's tailored to you and your fiance that's beautiful and perfect for you, without like you can still have like these high standards and also like just know like have your realistic expectations.
- 48:35SPEAKER_01: And like, I don't know, same thing in a relationship.
- 48:37SPEAKER_01: It's like my standards are high.
- 48:41SPEAKER_01: I have a lot of boxes that I think are very valid that I would like a spouse to check.
- 48:48SPEAKER_01: And I'm really, I mean, okay, superficial things I don't care about.
- 48:52SPEAKER_01: Those are all things that will change over time, or I could change him.
- 48:56SPEAKER_00: But it's like could make him dress better.
- 48:58SPEAKER_01: Yeah, like stupid stuff like that.
- 49:00SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't care.
- 49:02SPEAKER_01: But it's like I need him to have an amazing relationship with the Lord.
- 49:08SPEAKER_01: Like, that is number one.
- 49:09SPEAKER_01: I need a spiritual leader and a provider for like my house, like the head of my household.
- 49:14SPEAKER_01: I'm not wavering on that.
- 49:16SPEAKER_01: I'm not wavering on just like those important things.
- 49:23SPEAKER_01: And I'm allowed to have those high, high standards.
- 49:28SPEAKER_01: You're allowed to have high standards.
- 49:30SPEAKER_00: He goes to church and prays.
- 49:31SPEAKER_01: Yeah, but it's like you don't need to also at the same time to caveat.
- 49:36SPEAKER_01: I don't know what that word means, but it's like I don't have, I don't want to have unrealistic expectations.
- 49:43SPEAKER_00: No one's perfect, no one's gonna be a thousand percent perfect, no one's gonna check every single boxes that tick are like I saw on a video and it was like preference versus yeah, I forget the other word.
- 50:02SPEAKER_00: But like preference is like, oh, is he tall?
- 50:05SPEAKER_00: Does he have blonde hair and blue eyes?
- 50:08SPEAKER_00: But dang, I forgot the other word that was used.
- 50:11SPEAKER_00: Like preference versus whatever.
- 50:14SPEAKER_00: But the other thing was like, does he is he a follower of Christ?
- 50:19SPEAKER_00: So like that's the center of his the relationship.
- 50:23SPEAKER_00: It's like those things are non-negotiable, but the other preferences, yeah, those can change, they're not gonna be perfect, but I do expect at the end of the day that he has Jesus in his heart.
- 50:37SPEAKER_00: Yeah, absolutely.
- 50:41SPEAKER_01: I wrote down this question.
- 50:44SPEAKER_01: How do we avoid turning every unanswered prayer that we encounter?
- 50:49SPEAKER_01: Like, whether like we have an unanswered prayer and like we see that happening to someone else, like how do we turn that into, or how do we avoid turning that into a question about our worth?
- 51:03SPEAKER_01: And that's my food for thought.
- 51:06SPEAKER_01: Like, how like it's not that you're not good enough.
- 51:12SPEAKER_01: Like, we are good enough, we're amazing, and that's what is hard to work through because it's like you see everyone else with these things, like your unanswered prayers, and you're like, oh, so so they're better, they're they're a better fit, or like they did something better or whatever.
- 51:33SPEAKER_00: And it's like we don't we aren't owned anything.
- 51:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 51:42SPEAKER_00: So I don't really know the work around there.
- 51:46SPEAKER_01: I just mean like essentially like I want to avoid turning every unanswered prayer into what's wrong with me.
- 51:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 51:57SPEAKER_00: I think I don't know, I guess just look at it like me.
- 52:04SPEAKER_00: Because I am perfect and a little angel.
- 52:07SPEAKER_00: No, I think it's just God's protection.
- 52:11SPEAKER_00: He knows us more than we know ourselves, and he knows even though we want this person or want this to happen, he knows better, and he's just protecting us.
- 52:23SPEAKER_01: I will say some pros working in the industry while we wrap it up here, because we need to get to Bible Teddy, bro.
- 52:33SPEAKER_01: You meet so many vendors.
- 52:36SPEAKER_00: So I wedding off of the weddings that I do.
- 52:39SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 52:40SPEAKER_00: I just pick up ideas here and there.
- 52:42SPEAKER_00: I like this.
- 52:42SPEAKER_01: Dot dot.
- 52:44SPEAKER_01: I'll leave that out.
- 52:45SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 52:46SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, that's not needed.
- 52:49SPEAKER_01: This is really cool.
- 52:50SPEAKER_01: This is a cool idea.
- 52:51SPEAKER_01: Like just different things.
- 52:52SPEAKER_01: It's like you meet vendors, you meet or you come up with ideas and like just see inspiration.
- 52:57SPEAKER_01: So that is the cool part of working in the wedding venue as a single girl.
- 53:06SPEAKER_01: And there you have it, and there you have it.
- 53:09SPEAKER_01: Period.
- 53:10SPEAKER_01: All right, guys.
- 53:11SPEAKER_00: It is finished next week.
- 53:13SPEAKER_01: Whoa, that was like a short sign out.
- 53:16SPEAKER_01: Okay.
- 53:16SPEAKER_01: Hello, everybody.

- 53:52SPEAKER_01: Backslash bags.
- 53:54SPEAKER_01: Just kidding.
- 53:57SPEAKER_01: Is that allowed?
- 53:58SPEAKER_00: I probably not.
- 54:00SPEAKER_01: Go follow high point church.
- 54:03SPEAKER_01: All right.
- 54:03SPEAKER_01: Well, I think that was a long enough send off.
- 54:06SPEAKER_02: So we'll talk to you later.
