- Lucas: Welcome back to Learn Norwegian with Fexingo. I am Lucas, and I am so glad you are here. Luna: Hi everyone! I am Luna. It feels good to be back with you all. We have been learning so many verbs lately. Lucas: We have. From lifting to swimming, we covered a lot of physical movement in the last few episodes. Luna: That is true. But today, I want to talk about things that happen inside, not just outside. Lucas: Right. Two very common daily activities. First, let us look at the word for work. Luna: Okay. Is it 'jobb'? I think I have heard that before. Lucas: You are close. The verb is 'å jobbe'. It means to work. Listen closely. Lucas: Å jobbe.... Å jobbe. Luna: Å jobbe. To work. Got it. Lucas: Now let us make it personal. If I say 'I work', we use 'jeg'. So, 'jeg jobber'. Lucas: Jeg jobber.... Jeg jobber. Luna: Jeg jobber. I work. That sounds steady. Lucas: Exactly. Now, if you are talking to someone else, 'you work' is 'du jobber'. Lucas: Du jobber.... Du jobber. Luna: Du jobber. You work. Simple enough. Lucas: And if we are together, 'we work' is 'vi jobber'. Lucas: Vi jobber.... Vi jobber. Luna: Vi jobber. We work. Okay, Lucas. I feel like I should be working right now. Lucas: Well, we are learning. Which is a kind of work, but a fun one. Let us try the second verb. Luna: Yes! This one is my favorite. Reading. In Norwegian, it is 'å lese'. Lucas: Perfect. 'Å lese'. It means to read. Repeat after me. Lucas: Å lese.... Å lese. Luna: Å lese. To read. Oh, that is such a cozy word. Lucas: It is very peaceful. Now, 'I read' is 'jeg leser'. Lucas: Jeg leser.... Jeg leser. Luna: Jeg leser. I read. I love reading books in the evening. Lucas: That is a nice habit. And 'you read' is 'du leser'. Lucas: Du leser.... Du leser. Luna: Du leser. You read. Yes. Lucas: And finally, 'we read' is 'vi leser'. Lucas: Vi leser.... Vi leser. Luna: Vi leser. We read. I can imagine us reading a story together. Lucas: We could do that. These verbs connect to our daily lives so well. Luna: They really do. Work and reading. They take up so much of our time. Lucas: True. Before we go deeper into sentences, I want to share something about how this show runs. Luna: Oh? What is on your mind? Lucas: We believe language learning should be accessible without distractions. So we do not play ads between episodes. Luna: That is a big choice. It keeps the flow so smooth. Lucas: It does. If Fexingo has been helping you make actual progress with this language, your support makes that possible. Luna: Yeah. We rely on listeners who care about the mission. Thank you for considering it. Luna: Thanks for listening. Now, let us get back to practicing those verbs. Lucas: Right. Let us put them into a tiny scene. Imagine a morning routine. Luna: Okay. I wake up. Do I start by working or reading? Lucas: Usually, maybe you read first. Or maybe you work. Let us say 'I work in the morning'. Luna: Jeg jobber om morgenen. I work in the morning. Lucas: Good. Then later, 'I read in the evening'. Luna: Jeg leser om kvelden. I read in the evening. Lucas: Perfect. Now try asking someone else. 'Do you work?' Remember, 'do' is implied in Norwegian often. Luna: So just 'Du jobber?' With a question tone? Lucas: Exactly. Just raise your voice at the end. 'Du jobber?' Luna: Du jobber? Do you work? Yeah, that works. Lucas: And 'Do you read?' 'Du leser?' Luna: Du leser? Do you read? Simple and effective. Lucas: Let us combine them. 'We work and we read.' It is a balanced life. Luna: Vi jobber og vi leser. We work and we read. I like that rhythm. Lucas: It flows well. Let us repeat the core set one more time to lock it in. Luna: Ready. Go. Lucas: Å jobbe. Jeg jobber. Du jobber. Vi jobber. Luna: Jeg jobber. Du jobber. Vi jobber. Good repetition. Lucas: Now the reading pair. Å lese. Jeg leser. Du leser. Vi leser. Luna: Jeg leser. Du leser. Vi leser. My tongue is getting used to the soft sounds. Lucas: That is the goal. Keep practicing these until they feel natural. Luna: I will. It is nice to have words for what we actually do every day. Lucas: It really is. These verbs open up so many conversations about your life. Luna: Yes. Like telling friends about your schedule or your hobbies. Lucas: Exactly. 'Jeg jobber på kontoret.' I work at the office. 'Jeg leser en bok.' I read a book. Luna: Those are great little examples. Very practical. Lucas: We will see you next time. Keep listening, keep repeating. Luna: See you soon! Practice these till we chat again.
