- 0:00Speaker 1: If you're tired of waking up unmotivated, it is time
- 0:04Speaker 1: you download the Mindset Daily Motivation app and start your
- 0:07Speaker 1: day with new motivational alarms.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Let's go!
- 0:15Speaker 3: Strength, leadership, power, authority, guidance, patience, are God's gift to
- 0:30Speaker 3: us as men.
- 0:35Speaker 2: We have to cherish that, not abuse it.
- 0:40Speaker 4: I prayed this morning to be a better listener.
- 0:45Speaker 5: Didn't work so well. It's we're human. You get back up.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Yes, I've been high up on the mountain. I've been blessed.
- 0:58Speaker 2: But that's a slippery slope. And it's lonely up there.
- 1:03Speaker 2: You know, people don't know that side of me.
- 1:06Speaker 4: We did not come this far to just break down
- 1:08Speaker 4: and lose now.
- 1:10Speaker 2: I'm a winner. I'm going to win.
- 1:14Speaker 4: True desire in the heart. That itch that you have.
- 1:18Speaker 4: Whatever it is you want to do. That thing that
- 1:20Speaker 4: you want to do.
- 1:21Speaker 2: To help others and to grow and to make money.
- 1:24Speaker 2: That desire, that itch, that's God's proof to you.
- 1:27Speaker 4: Sit beforehand already to indicate that it's yours. Aspire to
- 1:33Speaker 4: make a difference.
- 1:38Speaker 5: You are what you are.
- 1:39Speaker 2: In this world. That's either one of two things. Either
- 1:43Speaker 2: you're somebody or you're nobody.
- 1:49Speaker 6: Never give up without commitment You'll never start, but more importantly,
- 1:57Speaker 6: without consistency, you'll never finish.
- 2:01Speaker 2: It's not easy. If it were easy, there'd be no
- 2:04Speaker 2: Denzel Washington.
- 2:05Speaker 4: So, keep working, keep striving, never give up, fall down
- 2:11Speaker 4: seven times, get up eight.
- 2:13Speaker 2: Ease is a greater threat to progress than hardship. So,
- 2:17Speaker 2: keep moving, keep growing, keep learning.
- 2:20Speaker 7: See you at work.
- 2:27Speaker 4: Imagine you're on your deathbed and standing around your deathbed
- 2:31Speaker 4: are the ghosts representing your unfulfilled potential. The ghost of
- 2:36Speaker 4: the ideas you never acted on. The ghost of the
- 2:39Speaker 4: talents you didn't use. And they're standing around your bed angry, disappointed,
- 2:44Speaker 4: and upset. So I ask you today, how many ghosts
- 2:49Speaker 4: are going to be around your bed when your time comes?
- 2:52Speaker 2: Well, as I said, I'm a positive person.
- 2:54Speaker 7: I think that you have to take what you're given
- 2:56Speaker 7: and and do something with it you know the easiest
- 2:58Speaker 7: thing to do is complain about it and give into
- 3:00Speaker 7: that but I try to turn that into something positive
- 3:04Speaker 7: and so far it's worked for.
- 3:05Speaker 8: Me fail big that's right fail big today's the beginning
- 3:12Speaker 8: of the rest of your life and it can be
- 3:14Speaker 8: very frightening it's a new world out there it's a
- 3:16Speaker 8: mean world out there you only live once so.
- 3:21Speaker 4: Do what you feel passionate about take chances to get
- 3:25Speaker 4: something you never had You have to do something you
- 3:28Speaker 4: never did. I found that nothing in life is worthwhile
- 3:34Speaker 4: unless you take risks.
- 3:37Speaker 9: Nothing.
- 3:38Speaker 4: I just can't live my life based upon what other
- 3:40Speaker 4: people think about me.
- 3:41Speaker 2: So I can't concern myself too much with what other
- 3:43Speaker 2: people think.
- 3:44Speaker 10: It's just not healthy.
- 3:46Speaker 4: The chances you take, the people you love, the faith
- 3:49Speaker 4: that you have, that's what's going to define you.
- 3:53Speaker 10: Dreams without goals.
- 3:56Speaker 4: Remain dreams, just dreams, and ultimately fuel disappointment.
- 4:04Speaker 10: Goals on the road.
- 4:06Speaker 4: To achievement cannot be achieved without discipline and consistency. There
- 4:14Speaker 4: is no passion to be found playing small and settling
- 4:19Speaker 4: for a life that's less than the one you're capable
- 4:22Speaker 4: of living.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Now I'm sure in your experiences in school.
- 4:26Speaker 4: And applying to college and picking your major and deciding
- 4:29Speaker 4: what you want to do with life, I'm sure people
- 4:31Speaker 4: have told you to make sure you have something to
- 4:33Speaker 4: fall back on. Make sure you got something to fall
- 4:36Speaker 4: back on, honey. But I never understood that concept, having
- 4:41Speaker 4: something to fall back on. If I'm going to fall,
- 4:44Speaker 4: I don't want to fall back on anything except my faith.
- 4:51Speaker 2: I want to fall forward. I figure at least this
- 4:54Speaker 2: way I'll see what I'm going to hit. Fall forward.
- 4:59Speaker 4: Thank you for mercy. Thank you for understanding. Thank you
- 5:02Speaker 4: for wisdom. Thank you for parents. Thank you for love.
- 5:06Speaker 4: Thank you for kindness. Thank you for humility. Thank you
- 5:10Speaker 4: for peace.
- 5:11Speaker 2: Thank you for prosperity.
- 5:13Speaker 4: Say thank you in advance for what's already yours. You
- 5:19Speaker 4: will fail at some point in your life.
- 5:21Speaker 2: Accept it.
- 5:22Speaker 11: You will lose.
- 5:23Speaker 4: You will embarrass yourself. You will suck at something. There's
- 5:27Speaker 4: no doubt about it. Embrace it, because it's inevitable. Reggie
- 5:33Speaker 4: Jackson struck out 2,600 times in his career, the most
- 5:37Speaker 4: in the history of baseball.
- 5:38Speaker 2: But you don't hear about the strikeouts. People remember the
- 5:41Speaker 2: home runs.
- 5:44Speaker 12: Fall forward.
- 5:46Speaker 4: Thomas Edison conducted 1,000 failed experiments.
- 5:50Speaker 2: Did you know that? I didn't know that. Because the
- 5:54Speaker 2: 1001st was the light bulb. Fall forward.
- 5:59Speaker 4: So don't be afraid to go outside the box. Don't
- 6:03Speaker 4: be afraid to think outside the box. Don't be afraid
- 6:07Speaker 4: to fail big. To dream big. You've invested a lot
- 6:12Speaker 4: in your education and people have invested in you.
- 6:15Speaker 2: And let me tell you, the world needs your talents. Man,
- 6:18Speaker 2: does it ever. I just got back from South Africa.
- 6:20Speaker 2: It's a beautiful country.
- 6:21Speaker 4: But there are places there with terrible poverty that need help.
- 6:25Speaker 4: And Africa is just the tip of the iceberg. The
- 6:28Speaker 4: Middle East needs your help. Japan needs your help. Alabama
- 6:32Speaker 4: needs your help. Tennessee needs your help. Louisiana needs your help.
- 6:35Speaker 4: Philadelphia needs your help.
- 6:46Speaker 2: The world needs a lot, and we need it from you.
- 6:50Speaker 2: We really do. We need it from you young people.
- 6:52Speaker 4: I mean, I'm not speaking for the rest of us
- 6:53Speaker 4: up here, but I know I'm getting a little grayer.
- 6:57Speaker 4: We need it from you, the young people, because remember this.
- 7:00Speaker 4: So you got to get out there. You got to
- 7:02Speaker 4: give it everything you got, whether it's your time, your talent.
- 7:08Speaker 2: Your prayers, or your treasures.
- 7:11Speaker 4: Because remember this, you will never see a U-Haul behind
- 7:16Speaker 4: a hearse. What are you going to do with what
- 7:20Speaker 4: you have? I'm not talking about how much you have.
- 7:23Speaker 4: Some of you are business majors. Some of you are theologians, nurses, sociologists.
- 7:27Speaker 4: Some of you have money. Some of you have patience.
- 7:30Speaker 4: Some of you have kindness. Some of you have love.
- 7:33Speaker 2: Some of you have the gift of long suffering.
- 7:35Speaker 4: Whatever it is, whatever your gift is, what are you
- 7:39Speaker 4: going to do with what you have?
- 7:42Speaker 2: If you don't fail, you're not even trying.
- 7:48Speaker 4: I'll say it again. If you don't fail, you're not
- 7:51Speaker 4: even trying. My wife told me this great expression. To
- 7:53Speaker 4: get something you never had, you have to do something
- 7:57Speaker 4: you never did. Because taking risk is not just about
- 8:01Speaker 4: going for a job. It's also about knowing what you
- 8:05Speaker 4: know and what you don't know. It's about being open
- 8:08Speaker 4: to people and to ideas. 40 years ago, March 27th, 1975,
- 8:16Speaker 4: it was 40 years ago, just this past March, I
- 8:21Speaker 4: was flunking out of college.
- 8:24Speaker 2: I had a 1.7 grade point average. I hope none
- 8:27Speaker 2: of you can relate.
- 8:30Speaker 4: I had a 1.7 grade point average. I was sitting
- 8:33Speaker 4: in my mother's beauty shop. They still call it beauty
- 8:36Speaker 4: shop now? Yeah, I was sitting in the beauty parlor.
- 8:39Speaker 4: I was sitting in my mother's beauty parlor. And I'm
- 8:42Speaker 4: looking in the mirror and I see behind me this
- 8:45Speaker 4: woman under the dryer. And every time she looked up,
- 8:48Speaker 4: every time I looked up, she was looking at me.
- 8:50Speaker 4: Just looking me in the eye.
- 8:52Speaker 2: I didn't know who she was. And I said, you know,
- 8:54Speaker 2: she said, somebody give me a pen.
- 8:56Speaker 5: Give me a pencil.
- 8:56Speaker 2: I have a prophecy. March 27, 1975. She said, boy,
- 9:01Speaker 2: you are going to travel the world and speak to
- 9:04Speaker 2: millions of people. Now, mind you, I flunked out of college.
- 9:09Speaker 2: I'm thinking about joining the army. I didn't know what
- 9:10Speaker 2: I was going to do.
- 9:11Speaker 4: And she's telling me I'm going to travel the world
- 9:14Speaker 4: and speak to millions of people. Well, I have traveled
- 9:17Speaker 4: the world. And I have spoke to millions of people.
- 9:23Speaker 4: But that's not the most important thing, the success that
- 9:25Speaker 4: I had. The most important thing is that what she
- 9:27Speaker 4: taught me and what she told me that day has
- 9:29Speaker 4: stayed with me since.
- 9:32Speaker 2: I've been protected. I've been directed. I've been corrected.
- 9:38Speaker 4: I've kept God in my life and it's kept me humble.
- 9:41Speaker 4: I didn't always stick with him, but he always stuck
- 9:43Speaker 4: with me. Never be discouraged. Never hold back. Give everything
- 9:50Speaker 4: you've got. And when you fall throughout life, remember this.
- 9:57Speaker 2: Fall forward. So never give up.
- 10:04Speaker 6: Without commitment, you'll never start. But more importantly, without consistency,
- 10:11Speaker 6: you'll never finish.
- 10:13Speaker 10: You have to work at it.
- 10:15Speaker 2: Every day, you have to plan.
- 10:17Speaker 5: Every day.
- 10:18Speaker 2: You've heard the saying, we don't plan to fail, we
- 10:21Speaker 2: fail to plan. Hard work works.
- 10:28Speaker 4: Working really hard is what successful people do. And in
- 10:34Speaker 4: this text, tweet, twerk world that you've grown up in, remember,
- 10:42Speaker 4: just because you're doing a lot more doesn't mean you're
- 10:47Speaker 4: getting a lot more done. Fall down seven times, get
- 10:51Speaker 4: up eight. Don't confuse movement with progress. My mother told me,
- 10:57Speaker 4: she said, yeah, because you can run in place all
- 10:59Speaker 4: the time and never get anywhere. So continue to strive,
- 11:02Speaker 4: continue to have goals, continue to progress. Ease is a
- 11:11Speaker 4: greater threat to progress than hardship.
- 11:18Speaker 2: And anything you want good, you can have. So claim it.
- 11:26Speaker 4: Work hard to get it. When you get it, reach back.
- 11:31Speaker 4: Pull someone else up. Each one, teach one. Don't just
- 11:39Speaker 4: aspire to make a living. Aspire to make a difference.
- 11:49Speaker 4: Ease is a greater threat to.
- 11:50Speaker 2: Progress than hardship. So keep moving, keep growing, keep learning.
- 11:56Speaker 11: See you at work.
- 12:00Speaker 1: If all you want is success, you will not have it.
- 12:05Speaker 1: And so if all you want is the success, if
- 12:07Speaker 1: all you want is a trophy, but you don't want
- 12:10Speaker 1: a story, a process, if you don't want to be
- 12:13Speaker 1: made into something, then you've already missed it. You've already failed.
- 12:18Speaker 1: You've already tanked. And so once you get this, everything changes.
- 12:24Speaker 1: What have been the biggest obstacles in your life? What
- 12:28Speaker 1: has stopped you? What has hindered you? What has provoked
- 12:31Speaker 1: you to get lazy?
- 12:33Speaker 5: When life pushed you down, when everybody said, you are not.
- 12:37Speaker 1: Enough, when you told yourself, I quit because I can't finish,
- 12:42Speaker 1: and you.
- 12:42Speaker 10: Got back up the next day and kept going.
- 12:45Speaker 1: Sacrifice is going to have to become your companion and
- 12:48Speaker 1: no longer your enemy. Too many of you think sacrifice
- 12:52Speaker 1: is your enemy. Sacrifice is a curse word. Sacrifice is bad.
- 12:56Speaker 1: I don't want to sacrifice.
- 12:58Speaker 10: Well, guess what?
- 13:00Speaker 1: You cannot have success without process, without sacrifice.
- 13:06Speaker 10: You cannot have it.
- 13:08Speaker 1: If all you see is success, then you've missed the
- 13:12Speaker 1: entire moment. Because it is the journey, it is the grit,
- 13:15Speaker 1: it is the grind, it's the prayers that you pray,
- 13:18Speaker 1: it's the tears that you have cried, it's the rejection
- 13:21Speaker 1: that you've had to take on your back. And so
- 13:24Speaker 1: we all know these things that we've got to sacrifice oftentimes.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Sometimes it's sleep. Sometimes it's your relationship. Sometimes it's those
- 13:32Speaker 1: urges that we might get and we gotta sacrifice those urges.
- 13:34Speaker 1: We gotta sacrifice. Is it fear that we need to
- 13:41Speaker 1: let go of? Is it unnecessary stress? Come on, is
- 13:44Speaker 1: it those unidentified triggers?
- 13:46Speaker 10: What is it?
- 13:46Speaker 1: What hobbies do I need to let go of? What
- 13:49Speaker 1: people do I need to let go of? What opinions
- 13:51Speaker 1: of people do I need to let go of? What's
- 13:53Speaker 1: wasting my time? And so when sacrifice becomes your companion,
- 14:00Speaker 1: it is only then that we can begin to step
- 14:03Speaker 1: into the process of what is required to climb mountains.
- 14:06Speaker 1: Everybody wants to get to the top of the mountain,
- 14:08Speaker 1: but nobody wants to climb.
- 14:09Speaker 5: Sacrifice is going to build me. Sacrifice is going to
- 14:12Speaker 5: prepare me. I'm going to be equipped. I'm going to
- 14:14Speaker 5: be conditioned.
- 14:16Speaker 1: Destiny is haunting us, breathing down our necks, asking us,
- 14:22Speaker 1: when are we going to step forward? When am I
- 14:26Speaker 1: going to march into this thing? The future is very expensive.
- 14:36Speaker 1: I don't know what it is that you want to do,
- 14:38Speaker 1: but everybody's got something they want to do.
- 14:40Speaker 10: Everybody's got something they want to become.
- 14:43Speaker 1: Everybody's got somewhere they believe they've been destined to go.
- 14:48Speaker 1: And oftentimes we don't hit these targets because we're not
- 14:52Speaker 1: considering the cost. that I just want to share with
- 14:56Speaker 1: you things that you need to start sacrificing right now.
- 15:01Speaker 10: Number one, your time.
- 15:02Speaker 1: You got to get used to sacrificing your time. If
- 15:05Speaker 1: you're going to achieve it, if you're going to become it,
- 15:09Speaker 1: if you're going to go somewhere, then you're going to
- 15:11Speaker 1: learn how to have to sacrifice your time.
- 15:13Speaker 10: You can't have the future.
- 15:15Speaker 1: And you don't know how to wake up at three
- 15:16Speaker 1: o'clock in the morning, four o'clock in the morning, five
- 15:18Speaker 1: o'clock in the morning.
- 15:19Speaker 10: You can't have the future. You will not be able.
- 15:22Speaker 1: To manifest if you're sleeping when the world sleeps. So
- 15:27Speaker 1: you got to learn how to get up when everybody's sleeping.
- 15:30Speaker 1: You only have 24 hours in a day. You got
- 15:32Speaker 1: to learn to manage the time that is given to you.
- 15:36Speaker 1: This means that you can't binge watch your favorite television
- 15:39Speaker 1: show every day. This means that you can't be on
- 15:41Speaker 1: social media every day. This means that you can't do
- 15:44Speaker 1: whatever you want all day and think you're going to
- 15:46Speaker 1: manifest and become this person and achieve this feat.
- 15:49Speaker 10: It's not going to happen. Number two, you got to
- 15:53Speaker 10: surrender comfort.
- 15:54Speaker 1: I need you to get out of of your comfort
- 15:59Speaker 1: zone if you're going to be successful if you're going
- 16:03Speaker 1: to achieve it if you're going to become it you've
- 16:07Speaker 1: got to break out of your comfort zone some of
- 16:10Speaker 1: you you have financial goals you have relational goals you
- 16:13Speaker 1: have health goals but you're comfortable you're comfortable in the
- 16:18Speaker 1: current toxic relationship you're in you're comfortable being overweight But
- 16:22Speaker 1: I'm just wondering if there's anybody that's listening to me
- 16:25Speaker 1: that's just flat out tired of being comfortable.
- 16:31Speaker 5: Number three, past versions of yourself.
- 16:36Speaker 10: There is an irritation.
- 16:38Speaker 1: There is an anguish and a pain that we all
- 16:41Speaker 1: carry when we show up in a new season, the
- 16:45Speaker 1: old version of ourselves. Every season requires a new version
- 16:51Speaker 1: of yourself. another version of discipline and focus and intentionality.
- 16:59Speaker 5: So you got to sacrifice the old you.
- 17:01Speaker 10: I know you keep celebrating small.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Wins and what you accomplished five years ago, two years ago,
- 17:07Speaker 1: what you did in high school. I need you to
- 17:10Speaker 1: find a mirror. I need you to say goodbye to
- 17:13Speaker 1: the old version of yourself. In the next three to
- 17:16Speaker 1: six months, you're going to make you proud.
- 17:22Speaker 5: The next thing that's got to go is fear, pride,
- 17:26Speaker 5: and ego.
- 17:28Speaker 1: For many of us, fear is disguised as rational and practical.
- 17:33Speaker 1: And fear is disguised as.
- 17:36Speaker 5: A planning agent.
- 17:37Speaker 1: I'm just planning out the process and I'm just going
- 17:40Speaker 1: to wait. I'm just kind of walking myself through everything
- 17:43Speaker 1: and processing everything. And so fear cloaks, fear disguises itself
- 17:48Speaker 1: as process and.
- 17:50Speaker 10: And I'm talking to you.
- 17:51Speaker 1: I need you to find a mirror and I need
- 17:54Speaker 1: you to bind up the spirit of fear. And I
- 17:56Speaker 1: need you to tell yourself, I am not afraid.
- 17:59Speaker 10: I am not afraid.
- 18:03Speaker 5: If you were to ask me, what do I fear?
- 18:04Speaker 10: I don't fear starting.
- 18:06Speaker 1: I fear never starting and sleeping on my potential. I'm
- 18:09Speaker 1: terrified of not manifesting and becoming the version of myself
- 18:13Speaker 1: I was destined to be. So the next thing you're
- 18:17Speaker 1: going to have to sacrifice is that vice. Now listen,
- 18:20Speaker 1: I don't know what your vice is. If you're trying
- 18:22Speaker 1: to lose weight, your vice could be ice cream, chips, cupcakes, cookies.
- 18:26Speaker 1: If you're trying to be financially fit, your vice could
- 18:29Speaker 1: be splurging on clothes and entertainment and food and recreation.
- 18:36Speaker 1: Sometimes you're going to have to surrender that month, that quarter,
- 18:40Speaker 1: that year. It takes a lifetime of discipline. Can you
- 18:45Speaker 1: surrender what you have possessed? Can you surrender what is
- 18:49Speaker 1: possessing you? Some of you are possessed by social media.
- 18:54Speaker 1: It's no longer a servant.
- 18:55Speaker 10: It is a master.
- 18:56Speaker 1: Social media is a beautiful servant, but it is a
- 18:59Speaker 1: terrible master.
- 19:02Speaker 5: Can you surrender social media?
- 19:04Speaker 10: Can you surrender your time?
- 19:06Speaker 5: Can you surrender yourself?
- 19:08Speaker 10: Can you surrender your mind?
- 19:09Speaker 5: Can you surrender your will?
- 19:11Speaker 1: Can you stop choosing what's killing you? If you're going
- 19:15Speaker 1: to achieve it, if you're going to manifest it, if
- 19:17Speaker 1: you're going to do this thing, then you're going to
- 19:18Speaker 1: need some stamina.
- 19:20Speaker 5: Come on, believe it.
- 19:21Speaker 1: Come on, you got to start speaking that stamina over
- 19:23Speaker 1: your life, speaking that endurance over your life. Believe it,
- 19:26Speaker 1: believe it. If you're going to be extraordinary, And you
- 19:30Speaker 1: can't make ordinary sacrifices. There are levels to sacrifice. There
- 19:33Speaker 1: are sacrifices that everybody makes. Sacrifices in every scene of
- 19:37Speaker 1: our lives. And then there are some extraordinary sacrifices. You
- 19:44Speaker 1: can't have the future if you can't surrender something that's
- 19:48Speaker 1: no longer serving you.
- 19:49Speaker 10: You cannot.
- 19:50Speaker 2: Manifest.
- 19:51Speaker 1: You cannot become the next version of yourself. You cannot
- 19:54Speaker 1: experience a higher quality of life unless you sacrifice. There
- 19:58Speaker 1: are some things that you love too much. There are
- 20:01Speaker 1: some people that you've kept in your life. They are toxic.
- 20:05Speaker 1: They add no value. They are no longer serving your vision.
- 20:10Speaker 1: It's time for the next version of yourself. Snap out
- 20:13Speaker 1: of it. This version of you is not going to
- 20:17Speaker 1: carry you in this next season. You're going to have
- 20:21Speaker 1: to sacrifice who you used to be.
- 20:26Speaker 5: Michael Jordan has a $ 2 billion net worth.
- 20:29Speaker 10: That's beautiful.
- 20:32Speaker 5: But what was the cost for all of that?
- 20:33Speaker 1: How did he win games? How did he win championships?
- 20:37Speaker 1: How hard did he practice? How crazy was his faith?
- 20:40Speaker 1: How many vacations did Michael.
- 20:41Speaker 10: Jordan have to turn down? How many parties did he
- 20:44Speaker 10: have to walk out of?
- 20:46Speaker 1: How many people had to be amputated out of his life?
- 20:49Speaker 10: Everybody wants to celebrate the $ 2.
- 20:51Speaker 1: Billion evaluation of his enterprise.
- 20:56Speaker 5: But it came at a cost. It came with some
- 20:58Speaker 5: sleepless nights.
- 20:59Speaker 10: It came with some long practices. It came with a
- 21:04Speaker 10: lot of no's.
- 21:05Speaker 13: No, no, no, no.
- 21:05Speaker 5: I can't do the party.
- 21:07Speaker 10: No, no, no.
- 21:07Speaker 1: I'm not going to do the drinking. No, I'm not
- 21:09Speaker 1: connecting with them. No, I don't need that circle. No,
- 21:13Speaker 1: it came with a lot of no's. It came with
- 21:15Speaker 1: a lot of sacrifice. It comes with a lot of rejecting.
- 21:19Speaker 1: It comes with a lot of awareness of what is
- 21:23Speaker 1: not serving the vision. had a temperature of over 100
- 21:30Speaker 1: degrees and won the game over the Jazz in 95,
- 21:34Speaker 1: a champion.
- 21:36Speaker 10: But he sacrificed comfort. He sacrificed convenience.
- 21:39Speaker 5: He had to sacrifice the.
- 21:40Speaker 1: Rejective voices in his head that said, you're crazy, you're sick,
- 21:45Speaker 1: you need to rest, you need to sit down. If
- 21:48Speaker 1: I'm going to see success, I've got to define what
- 21:51Speaker 1: sacrifices I require in order.
- 21:54Speaker 5: To step into it. I cannot have it. I will
- 21:57Speaker 5: not see it until I've counted up the cost.
- 22:02Speaker 1: You'll find yourself connected to 100 people that think they
- 22:04Speaker 1: know what you should be doing to get where you're
- 22:06Speaker 1: supposed to be. And so I've got to begin to
- 22:09Speaker 1: shut the mouths of the people that don't know the cost,
- 22:12Speaker 1: the price that I have to pay. You may have
- 22:14Speaker 1: paid that, but I may not have to pay that price.
- 22:18Speaker 1: I can learn from your mistakes. I don't have to
- 22:21Speaker 1: fall down the same ditches you fell down. I don't
- 22:23Speaker 1: have to flop down the same stairs you flopped down.
- 22:27Speaker 1: That's your price. That's your cause. I've got another way.
- 22:30Speaker 1: I've got a different mentality. I just may be a
- 22:32Speaker 1: little bit more creative than you. I just may be
- 22:35Speaker 1: a little bit more innovative. I just may have more
- 22:37Speaker 1: faith than you. I don't have to fall like you fell.
- 22:40Speaker 1: I don't have to hurt like you hurt. I can
- 22:42Speaker 1: look up and get up. When did you get to
- 22:46Speaker 1: the point where you snapped so easily? When you let
- 22:49Speaker 1: go so easily? When you gave up so easily? I
- 22:52Speaker 1: know what it's like to feel like, if I keep going,
- 22:54Speaker 1: I'm going to waste my time. We all get to
- 22:57Speaker 1: this point in our life where we ask ourselves the question,
- 22:59Speaker 1: what have I held.
- 23:00Speaker 5: On to that should have been amputated?
- 23:04Speaker 1: All of us are holding on to something That is
- 23:08Speaker 1: familiar and we are comfortable and it has become our paradigm,
- 23:12Speaker 1: our pattern, our way of life. And if we're honest,
- 23:15Speaker 1: we can't see ourselves without this thing. I don't know
- 23:19Speaker 1: what it is for you. Everybody's got a different thing, person, place,
- 23:23Speaker 1: something that needs to be amputated out of our life.
- 23:26Speaker 1: Cut off that's no longer serving us. And so my
- 23:30Speaker 1: question to you really is, I know you have your
- 23:32Speaker 1: eyes on success, the end game, the trophy, but... What
- 23:37Speaker 1: conveniences haven't we let go of that have.
- 23:41Speaker 5: Become cancerous to us?
- 23:45Speaker 1: If we're honest, we should be able to write out
- 23:47Speaker 1: a whole list of things that we're not doing that
- 23:50Speaker 1: we were destined to do, but our forward motion has
- 23:54Speaker 1: been halted by something. Are you willing to confess to
- 23:59Speaker 1: yourself what haven't you been willing to surrender? Why is
- 24:04Speaker 1: it that you think what's killing you is helping you?
- 24:07Speaker 1: You're bleeding out. You're directionless. You don't even have an idea.
- 24:12Speaker 5: Where you are.
- 24:14Speaker 1: And you're so comfortable, yet you're so annoyed because there's
- 24:18Speaker 1: something deep down inside of you that knows that you're
- 24:22Speaker 1: not where you're supposed to be. So now we've got
- 24:26Speaker 1: to start talking about the things that we need to sacrifice.
- 24:28Speaker 1: What is it that needs to be amputated? that I
- 24:32Speaker 1: thought was assigned to be an aid to me, that
- 24:37Speaker 1: I thought was a help, that I thought was an
- 24:39Speaker 1: assignment is actually my assassin. It's the things in our
- 24:45Speaker 1: life that we think are helping us that we're assigned
- 24:48Speaker 1: to that are oftentimes assigned to kill us. What have
- 24:53Speaker 1: you clinged to that should have been amputated years ago?
- 24:57Speaker 5: I don't know what it is. You know, I don't
- 24:59Speaker 5: have to know. You need to know. Is it laziness?
- 25:01Speaker 10: Is it procrastination?
- 25:02Speaker 5: Is it ego?
- 25:03Speaker 11: Is it fear?
- 25:04Speaker 5: Is it doubt? Is it rejection?
- 25:07Speaker 10: Is it abandonment?
- 25:08Speaker 5: Is it just pain? I mean, what is it?
- 25:11Speaker 10: What is it? Why, why, why, why, why?
- 25:14Speaker 1: Haven't you been able to succeed in specific areas that
- 25:17Speaker 1: you've set out to conquer, that you've set out to dominate,
- 25:20Speaker 1: that you've set out to be the best?
- 25:21Speaker 5: Why is it? That you haven't been able to succeed.
- 25:24Speaker 12: Why? Why?
- 25:25Speaker 13: Why?
- 25:26Speaker 1: Just of these questions. And what haven't you been willing
- 25:29Speaker 1: to sacrifice? We all know the list. There's no time
- 25:32Speaker 1: to get amnesia now. We all know the list of
- 25:34Speaker 1: things we got to sacrifice. Are we going to have
- 25:36Speaker 1: immediate gratification and long-term dysfunction? Or are we going to
- 25:41Speaker 1: have long-term gratification and short-term discomfort?
- 25:52Speaker 14: You mentioned there about some of the prices that people
- 25:55Speaker 14: need to pay in order to be who they are.
- 25:59Speaker 14: The cost of entry, price of doing business, to be
- 26:03Speaker 14: a person that other people admire. What do you wish
- 26:07Speaker 14: more people knew about the price of success?
- 26:13Speaker 10: Is it worth it?
- 26:16Speaker 5: Is it worth it?
- 26:17Speaker 15: It's a tough question and only one person can answer that.
- 26:21Speaker 16: So people don't like to experience failure. But, you know,
- 26:24Speaker 16: for example, failure is part payment towards success. So the
- 26:28Speaker 16: price of success is always paid in full and in advance.
- 26:33Speaker 16: Muhammad Ali said, I hated every moment in the gym,
- 26:36Speaker 16: but I did it so I could live the rest
- 26:37Speaker 16: of my life like a champion.
- 26:38Speaker 10: But don't you believe that brainwashed stuff? You've been watching
- 26:41Speaker 10: me train.
- 26:42Speaker 2: You watch me dance, and it looked better than I
- 26:45Speaker 2: did 10 years ago.
- 26:46Speaker 10: I want to train 20 rounds a day. They won't
- 26:48Speaker 10: let me.
- 26:49Speaker 12: You got to set the example. This is another obstacle.
- 26:53Speaker 12: This obstacle cannot define me. It's not going to cripple me.
- 26:56Speaker 12: It's not going to be responsible for me stepping away
- 27:00Speaker 12: for the game that I love. I'm going to step
- 27:02Speaker 12: away on my own terms. And that's when the decision
- 27:05Speaker 12: was made that, you know what?
- 27:06Speaker 5: I'm doing it.
- 27:08Speaker 2: I'm doing it.
- 27:10Speaker 17: How much time did you have for yourself on Saturday
- 27:11Speaker 17: and Sunday that was not working every minute?
- 27:13Speaker 5: Tell me the truth.
- 27:15Speaker 18: A lot.
- 27:16Speaker 10: A lot.
- 27:16Speaker 2: I know. So that's the punchline.
- 27:19Speaker 17: You spent more downtime on not your career this weekend
- 27:24Speaker 17: than I did in my entire 20s combined.
- 27:27Speaker 1: When you're watching TV or you're going out for dinner
- 27:33Speaker 1: on a date and you go to a.
- 27:34Speaker 5: Movie, I'm not doing that. No weekends, no evenings really.
- 27:40Speaker 10: Luckily for me, I like what I do.
- 27:44Speaker 9: So people always ask me, they say, why is it
- 27:46Speaker 9: that you're working out so hard? Five hours a day,
- 27:49Speaker 9: six hours a day, and you have always a smile
- 27:52Speaker 9: on your face. The others are working out just as
- 27:55Speaker 9: hard as you do, and they look sour in the face.
- 27:59Speaker 11: Why is that? And I told people all.
- 28:02Speaker 9: The time, I said, because to me, I'm shooting for
- 28:05Speaker 9: a goal. Every single set that I do, every repetition,
- 28:09Speaker 9: every weight that I lift will get me a step
- 28:11Speaker 9: closer to turn this goal into reality. No matter how
- 28:15Speaker 9: much I bleed on my elbows or my knees, I
- 28:18Speaker 9: saw that vision of the perfect scene and it was
- 28:20Speaker 9: an important scene and I would do it over and
- 28:23Speaker 9: over again until we got it.
- 28:28Speaker 5: You know, I was sacrificing everything.
- 28:30Speaker 19: I put everything into that business. I sacrificed my social life,
- 28:34Speaker 19: I sacrificed my leisure in a way that almost nobody
- 28:38Speaker 19: believes me except a couple of people that knew me then.
- 28:45Speaker 19: Nobody can believe the hyperbole that comes out of my mouth,
- 28:48Speaker 19: which I'm okay with, I understand, but I gave up everything.
- 28:52Speaker 13: I wish I could back off, but it's fourth quarter.
- 28:55Speaker 13: I wish I could tell you something else. I wish
- 28:57Speaker 13: I could tell you, you tired, go take a break.
- 29:00Speaker 13: I wish I could tell you, tired, rest for a year.
- 29:04Speaker 13: I wish I could tell you that, that it's going
- 29:06Speaker 13: to get easier. I wish I could tell you it's
- 29:08Speaker 13: going to get easier. I wish I could tell you
- 29:10Speaker 13: that if you just keep.
- 29:11Speaker 10: Going, it's going to get lighter. The weight is going
- 29:15Speaker 10: to get lighter. I wish I could tell you that,
- 29:16Speaker 10: but that's not the truth.
- 29:17Speaker 13: The truth is you got to find something within. You
- 29:21Speaker 13: gotta find something within and that's gotta push you and
- 29:24Speaker 13: that's gotta elevate you and that's gotta.
- 29:26Speaker 10: Drive you and that's gotta move you.
- 29:29Speaker 13: And when you find out what your why is, you
- 29:31Speaker 13: don't hit snooze no more. When you find your why,
- 29:34Speaker 13: you find a way to make it happen. And I'm
- 29:44Speaker 13: going to tell you two versions of my life so far,
- 29:47Speaker 13: both equally true.
- 29:50Speaker 2: This is an attempt.
- 29:50Speaker 20: To be real for a second with each other.
- 29:55Speaker 2: Well, here's the first version.
- 29:57Speaker 20: Went to NYU film school on two scholarships. graduated in
- 30:00Speaker 20: a little over three years, made my first film at 21,
- 30:04Speaker 20: making me one of the youngest professional filmmakers in history,
- 30:07Speaker 20: sold an original script in one of the biggest bidding
- 30:10Speaker 20: wars of the time, and then went on to be
- 30:12Speaker 20: a writer on three films that went on to be
- 30:14Speaker 20: the three biggest films of that year for three studios,
- 30:17Speaker 20: wrote and directed nonstop from then till now, culminating at
- 30:21Speaker 20: over $ 3 billion in the theaters, most of which came
- 30:24Speaker 20: from original movies out of my head. Word for word,
- 30:27Speaker 20: I could I could argue that I am the highest
- 30:30Speaker 20: paid writer in the world. My films have opened number
- 30:34Speaker 20: one in every country in the world countless times. I
- 30:37Speaker 20: have never had a job other than a filmmaker. I
- 30:40Speaker 20: walk into a room with other filmmakers and the word
- 30:42Speaker 20: I hear most often is honor. It's an honor to
- 30:44Speaker 20: meet you. And they say, you are an icon. So
- 30:50Speaker 20: now here's the second version of my career. Made a
- 30:55Speaker 20: film at 21. It was pulled from one theater in
- 30:57Speaker 20: two weeks. Made a second film that was pulled from
- 31:01Speaker 20: a handful of theaters in a couple weeks. Two-time failure
- 31:05Speaker 20: at 24. Living in my parents' guest room with my
- 31:09Speaker 20: new wife. Sold a script to Fox and was immediately
- 31:12Speaker 20: fired by them as the director. Make a few hit
- 31:16Speaker 20: films in a row. Then make a film that Newsweek
- 31:19Speaker 20: calls the worst film of the year. I make children's
- 31:22Speaker 20: films that get roasted and fail. Have a press screening
- 31:26Speaker 20: of a film that I love. And in the middle
- 31:28Speaker 20: of the press screening, a person stands up and says,
- 31:31Speaker 20: this film sucks. I find myself questioning myself, every thought
- 31:35Speaker 20: that comes out of my head. The world of my
- 31:38Speaker 20: industry has decided I have no worth. I am a
- 31:42Speaker 20: cautionary tale. A person who got lucky for a time,
- 31:46Speaker 20: but revealed himself to be a sham.
- 31:49Speaker 2: I do not believe in myself. How do we explain
- 31:55Speaker 2: these two versions of a life?
- 31:57Speaker 20: I was incredibly powerful at every step of the way
- 32:02Speaker 20: and I didn't see it. I am here to put
- 32:04Speaker 20: forth the theory that every one of you is insanely
- 32:08Speaker 20: powerful and don't know it.
- 32:15Speaker 11: The first rule of success is to have a vision.
- 32:19Speaker 9: You see, if you don't have a vision of where
- 32:21Speaker 9: you go and if you don't have a goal where
- 32:22Speaker 9: you go, you drift around and you never end up anywhere.
- 32:28Speaker 9: I mean, as you know, I was born in 1947
- 32:30Speaker 9: in Austria after the Second World War. And I didn't
- 32:34Speaker 9: really like Austria when I grew up. I couldn't wait
- 32:38Speaker 9: to get out of there. I couldn't see myself becoming
- 32:41Speaker 9: a farmer or a worker in a factory or anything
- 32:46Speaker 9: like that. Even though my parents wanted me to stay
- 32:49Speaker 9: there and have a normal life. But that was their vision,
- 32:54Speaker 9: not mine. My vision was totally different. I felt that
- 32:58Speaker 9: I was born for something special, for something unique, for
- 33:01Speaker 9: something big. One day after school, I walked by a
- 33:05Speaker 9: store in Graz. And it was the only store that
- 33:08Speaker 9: really sold kind of American stuff. So I went inside
- 33:12Speaker 9: and I looked around and I looked at this stuff
- 33:13Speaker 9: and then I saw a magazine. I saw a bodybuilding
- 33:18Speaker 9: magazine that had Reg Park on the cover. And on
- 33:23Speaker 9: the cover it said how Reg Park Mr. Universe became
- 33:29Speaker 9: the Hercules star. So I bought the magazine. I took
- 33:34Speaker 9: it home and I read it over and over from
- 33:36Speaker 9: the front page to the back. It had everything in there,
- 33:40Speaker 9: how he trained in a factory town, how he worked
- 33:44Speaker 9: out every day for three, four hours and became the
- 33:46Speaker 9: strongest man of Europe and how he won Mr.
- 33:48Speaker 11: Europe, Mr. Great Britain, and then eventually Mr.
- 33:51Speaker 9: Universe. I read that and I said to myself, wow,
- 33:57Speaker 9: This is the blueprint for my life. This is exactly
- 34:02Speaker 9: what I want to do. I want to become a
- 34:04Speaker 9: bodybuilding champion, just like Reg Park. I want to get
- 34:08Speaker 9: into movies, just like Reg Park. And I want to
- 34:11Speaker 9: make millions of dollars and be rich and famous, just
- 34:14Speaker 9: like Reg Park. 74% hate their job in America. Now,
- 34:29Speaker 9: this is not much different when you come to Europe.
- 34:32Speaker 9: The majority of people don't like what they're doing because
- 34:36Speaker 9: they're really not doing it because they didn't have a
- 34:38Speaker 9: goal and they followed this goal. They just aimlessly drift
- 34:42Speaker 9: around and then all of a sudden there's a job
- 34:44Speaker 9: opening so they.
- 34:44Speaker 11: Get that job because you have to work. But then
- 34:48Speaker 11: when you work, it's a chore. It's work. It's not fun.
- 34:54Speaker 9: That is unbelievable if you think about it. So I
- 34:56Speaker 9: felt so blessed that I knew what I was doing.
- 35:00Speaker 14: Were you surprised when your dad said that to you?
- 35:02Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 35:03Speaker 14: When you were going to take a pivot in life trajectory?
- 35:06Speaker 21: I was fully stabilizing in that moment. As I said,
- 35:09Speaker 21: I called Tuesday night, 7 o'clock. He'll have had a beer.
- 35:14Speaker 21: He's already had dinner. Not Monday because that's the first
- 35:16Speaker 21: day of the work week. He'll be a little more stressed.
- 35:19Speaker 21: When I unload this that I don't want to go
- 35:20Speaker 21: to law school, I want to go to film school.
- 35:23Speaker 21: And I really thought he was going to go, you
- 35:25Speaker 21: want to do what? Again, the family I grew up in,
- 35:28Speaker 21: the idea of me thinking that the idea of going
- 35:31Speaker 21: into film, very Saturday idea, a hobby idea, not a job.
- 35:38Speaker 21: And when I shared it with him, the pause that
- 35:41Speaker 21: he took, you know, another bead of sweat started on
- 35:45Speaker 21: my back of my neck before he goes.
- 35:47Speaker 2: Well, don't half-ass it. Now, I will say this, though.
- 35:51Speaker 21: I do know now the way that I asked him
- 35:55Speaker 21: is part of the reason he gave me that answer
- 35:57Speaker 21: I really wasn't asking him.
- 36:00Speaker 2: I called him and said, Dad, I don't want to
- 36:02Speaker 2: go to law school anymore. I want to go to
- 36:04Speaker 2: film school. I didn't go. I'm not sure about law school.
- 36:10Speaker 21: If I'd have stuttered into that, I think he would have, again,
- 36:13Speaker 21: heard me half-assing what I wanted and gone.
- 36:16Speaker 14: In the process of being told to not half-ass it,
- 36:19Speaker 14: you didn't half-ass it?
- 36:20Speaker 2: The way I asked.
- 36:22Speaker 21: He asked, and he heard my own conviction. Look, when
- 36:25Speaker 21: he said don't half-ass it, He wasn't only giving me permission.
- 36:29Speaker 2: He was giving me a responsibility. He was going.
- 36:31Speaker 21: I knew I knew I was at his word with
- 36:35Speaker 21: me in my future decisions. I was making up for
- 36:38Speaker 21: more than myself. I had I wanted to fail less
- 36:41Speaker 21: because I didn't want to embarrass him. And that was
- 36:44Speaker 21: extra motivation, extra strength, extra courage, extra sobriety, extra like, well,
- 36:48Speaker 21: let's find out.
- 36:49Speaker 2: Go for it, man.
- 36:51Speaker 11: I said, I want to tell you a story about
- 36:52Speaker 11: my dad. He says, yeah, what's that?
- 36:55Speaker 15: I said, when I first had my son, Patrick Tico,
- 36:57Speaker 15: he was six months old or something like that. And
- 37:00Speaker 15: I went to my dad, I said, Dad, you know,
- 37:01Speaker 15: when I was living in Iran with you, you would travel,
- 37:05Speaker 15: you would work six days out of the week. And
- 37:07Speaker 15: you would leave 5 a.m. in the morning and you'd
- 37:09Speaker 15: come home at 8.30 and you expected us to be
- 37:12Speaker 15: in bed by 8 o'clock because your standards.
- 37:14Speaker 11: So we wouldn't see you but Fridays.
- 37:16Speaker 15: I said, and on Sundays, you were an early bird,
- 37:18Speaker 15: you'd wake us up at 6, we'd go to Parque
- 37:20Speaker 15: Shahan Shahiq. Then we'd go to church, a Syrian church.
- 37:23Speaker 15: Then we'd go to grandma's house, eat her food. Then
- 37:25Speaker 15: we'd come back home. You'd take a two-hour nap. You'd
- 37:27Speaker 15: listen to your music with the headphones. Then you would
- 37:30Speaker 15: come back, have dinner, watch a movie, and then we'd
- 37:32Speaker 15: go to sleep, right? I said, when I calculate the
- 37:35Speaker 15: days you spend with us in 10 years, it's 52
- 37:38Speaker 15: days a year times 10, 520 days.
- 37:40Speaker 10: Added 3,650 days. You had 3,650 days in 10 years,
- 37:42Speaker 10: but you only saw.
- 37:42Speaker 13: Us 520 days.
- 37:50Speaker 10: Did it bother you? Do you ever regret that as
- 37:53Speaker 10: a father?
- 37:54Speaker 5: No hesitation. He says, no regrets.
- 37:56Speaker 15: I said, dad, don't tell me this because you're protecting
- 37:58Speaker 15: your ego. Do you feel like you regret any of it?
- 38:01Speaker 15: Like you wish you would have worked less to spend
- 38:02Speaker 15: more time with us?
- 38:03Speaker 5: He says, zero.
- 38:06Speaker 15: He says, what is my job as a father? Isn't
- 38:09Speaker 15: my job as a father to teach you and raise
- 38:10Speaker 15: you to be strong so you can be independent without
- 38:12Speaker 15: having to rely on anybody else? Meaning you can stand
- 38:14Speaker 15: on your own two feet and you can go out
- 38:16Speaker 15: there and take your own family and take care of it.
- 38:17Speaker 10: Isn't that the job of a father? He says, how
- 38:19Speaker 10: are you doing?
- 38:19Speaker 15: I said, I'm independent. He said, then I did my
- 38:21Speaker 15: job right. He says, I don't regret any of it.
- 38:25Speaker 15: He says, I enjoyed every minute I had with you guys.
- 38:27Speaker 15: I had so much fun with you and Paulette. I said,
- 38:31Speaker 15: that's very good to hear because as a man now
- 38:33Speaker 15: that I'm getting through the next phase, I like.
- 38:35Speaker 10: Hearing that from my own father.
- 38:36Speaker 15: But I said, I want to say something to you
- 38:37Speaker 15: as well.
- 38:38Speaker 10: He says, what's that?
- 38:40Speaker 15: I said, I'm 33 sitting here thinking about this with
- 38:43Speaker 15: you and I also don't have any regrets that you
- 38:46Speaker 15: weren't there.
- 38:47Speaker 5: Everybody in Iran, you're working.
- 38:48Speaker 15: I said, I saw other dads that weren't workers. And
- 38:50Speaker 15: sometimes they didn't have money and they were going through challenges.
- 38:53Speaker 15: My daddy worked his ass off to provide. How lucky
- 38:57Speaker 15: I am to have a father that provided for me.
- 38:59Speaker 15: I said, I wanted you to know from me that
- 39:02Speaker 15: I also have no guilt for you. You're the best
- 39:04Speaker 15: thing that ever happened to me as a father. I
- 39:06Speaker 15: love you and I appreciate your example. You know why
- 39:10Speaker 15: I didn't feel guilty?
- 39:11Speaker 10: He says, what?
- 39:12Speaker 15: He says, if you're away from your family or you're
- 39:14Speaker 15: at a bar getting drunk.
- 39:15Speaker 5: You're a bad dad if you're doing that because.
- 39:17Speaker 11: You don't have moral authority.
- 39:19Speaker 15: Why would you not spend time with your kids over
- 39:21Speaker 15: drinking and going to a bar? Why would you not
- 39:24Speaker 15: want to be there instead of going and hanging out
- 39:25Speaker 15: and just doing other kind of stuff? Why wouldn't you
- 39:27Speaker 15: want to spend more time with your kids, right? He said,
- 39:30Speaker 15: but if you're away from your kids, you better make
- 39:33Speaker 15: it count and you better win. That is the only
- 39:36Speaker 15: way they'll forgive you if you use that time to win.
- 39:40Speaker 15: This is why Kobe's kids loved him. This is why
- 39:44Speaker 15: Michael's kids, this is why anybody that lives and performs
- 39:47Speaker 15: at the highest level At least the kids sit there
- 39:50Speaker 15: and say, even though daddy was away, even though mommy
- 39:52Speaker 15: was away, at least he or she used that time
- 39:55Speaker 15: wisely to win. Then when there's experiences, you remind them,
- 39:58Speaker 15: look where we are. This is because mommy and daddy
- 40:00Speaker 15: worked very hard. So as an entrepreneur, executive driven person,
- 40:05Speaker 15: at one point, you're going to hit that wall where
- 40:07Speaker 15: that guilt is going to be felt. And anybody and
- 40:11Speaker 15: everybody can give you advice. I can tell you what
- 40:13Speaker 15: to do. But at the end of the day, you
- 40:15Speaker 15: have to make that decision yourself. I made my choice.
- 40:19Speaker 15: to go after my vision because long term I'd like
- 40:22Speaker 15: to be able to set up a position where these
- 40:24Speaker 15: kids are in business with me in many many different
- 40:26Speaker 15: ways they don't have to do the same thing all
- 40:28Speaker 15: three of them but I like long term for our
- 40:30Speaker 15: family to be closer simply because the decisions daddy's making.
- 40:35Speaker 1: Today it's your turn it's your time you've waited long
- 40:42Speaker 1: enough Opportunity is everywhere. It's right before your eyes. This
- 40:48Speaker 1: is the place where your hunger for change changes everything.
- 40:52Speaker 1: If you're going to win the fight for your future,
- 40:54Speaker 1: you're going to have to prepare your mindset for the workload. Well,
- 41:01Speaker 1: I don't, I don't do it like them and I
- 41:03Speaker 1: don't say it like them and I don't, I don't
- 41:05Speaker 1: have the money that they have.
- 41:06Speaker 10: I don't have the resources that they have.
- 41:07Speaker 1: I don't, well, the reason why I, and so we're
- 41:11Speaker 1: just programmed to blame everybody else. Whatever it is that
- 41:18Speaker 1: you're setting out to do is going to require a
- 41:20Speaker 1: different version of yourself that comes with a different mentality,
- 41:25Speaker 1: a different set of habits, period.
- 41:30Speaker 10: If it's going to happen, you're going to have to
- 41:32Speaker 10: eliminate excuses. If you want.
- 41:37Speaker 1: Your future, then keep listening.
- 41:40Speaker 10: If you do not want your future, leave the room.
- 41:48Speaker 1: If you're going to manifest in your hands what you
- 41:51Speaker 1: see in your head, then you're going to have the courage,
- 41:54Speaker 1: the confidence, the self-belief, and the self-determination to go out
- 41:59Speaker 1: every single day and.
- 42:01Speaker 10: Make it happen.
- 42:03Speaker 1: Stop listening to me. Do something else on the internet
- 42:05Speaker 1: because here's the thing. Number one, you're going to.
- 42:09Speaker 10: Have to discover or define in.
- 42:12Speaker 1: Your head what success looks like for you. There are
- 42:17Speaker 1: going to be days where you are going to be
- 42:18Speaker 1: so inundated with responsibility and you are going to want
- 42:22Speaker 1: to completely let go of the vision, of the dream,
- 42:28Speaker 1: As bad as.
- 42:29Speaker 10: You want to hold it in your hand, you're going
- 42:31Speaker 10: to want to let go of it all and quit.
- 42:33Speaker 10: I don't know your name, but I know you have
- 42:36Speaker 10: a dream. I don't know where you're from or where
- 42:38Speaker 10: you're listening to me.
- 42:39Speaker 1: I don't know where you're going, but I know you
- 42:42Speaker 1: are going to where you've got a destination. People that
- 42:47Speaker 1: make excuses are not connected to their destination.
- 42:53Speaker 10: They don't have an end game. They don't have a goal.
- 42:58Speaker 1: I don't know what your story is, but if you
- 43:00Speaker 1: will keep a no excuse mentality, then.
- 43:04Speaker 10: The sky is not your limit.
- 43:07Speaker 1: The sky is your starting point. This is an every
- 43:11Speaker 1: single day mentality. I never get turned off. Do yourself
- 43:22Speaker 1: a favor. And dispense with the excuses that you don't
- 43:25Speaker 1: have time. Dispense with the excuse that you're not good enough.
- 43:30Speaker 1: Dispense with the excuse that too many people are better
- 43:33Speaker 1: than me. Drop out of the, I tried it last
- 43:37Speaker 1: year and it didn't work. No, you didn't work. This
- 43:41Speaker 1: is not a, I feel like it today. This is
- 43:44Speaker 1: not a, I'm motivated for a week. This is an
- 43:47Speaker 1: every single day mentality. You got to eat differently. You
- 43:53Speaker 1: got to work differently. You got to think differently. You
- 43:57Speaker 1: got to talk differently. You got to walk differently. If
- 44:00Speaker 1: you want elevation, if you want next level, if you
- 44:05Speaker 1: want to see this thing differently this year, everything you
- 44:10Speaker 1: do has to change.
- 44:12Speaker 10: And so there's no excuse. There's no pain that can
- 44:15Speaker 10: turn me off.
- 44:17Speaker 5: I want this thing every single day.
- 44:24Speaker 10: It's not always about the accomplishment. It's about the effort.
- 44:29Speaker 5: If we can just keep the effort going, the excuse
- 44:32Speaker 5: is irrelevant.
- 44:34Speaker 1: Every single day somebody's doing something you're not willing to
- 44:37Speaker 1: do to secure the future. You cannot have success without process,
- 44:46Speaker 1: without purging, without sacrificing.
- 44:50Speaker 5: If all you want is success, You will.
- 44:54Speaker 10: Not have it. Sacrifice is like a currency.
- 45:00Speaker 1: It is a bridge to the future. And if you
- 45:03Speaker 1: don't get acquainted with sacrifice, then you will never have
- 45:08Speaker 1: your future. You will never have what you've aimed for.
- 45:12Speaker 1: You will never hit your target. You will never hit
- 45:15Speaker 1: your objectives. And so if all you want is the success,
- 45:20Speaker 1: if all you want is a trophy, But you don't
- 45:23Speaker 1: want a story, a process. If you don't want to
- 45:26Speaker 1: be made into something, then you've already missed it. You've
- 45:30Speaker 1: already failed. You've already tanked. And so once you get this,
- 45:34Speaker 1: everything changes. You cannot have success without process, without purging,
- 45:42Speaker 1: without sacrificing. And so my question to you really is,
- 45:46Speaker 1: I know you have your eyes on success, the end game,
- 45:49Speaker 1: the trophy, but what conveniences haven't we let go of
- 45:54Speaker 1: that have.
- 45:55Speaker 5: Become cancerous to us?
- 45:59Speaker 1: If we're honest, we should be able to write out
- 46:00Speaker 1: a whole list of things that we're not doing, that
- 46:03Speaker 1: we were destined to do, but our forward motion has been.
- 46:08Speaker 10: Halted by something. Destinies.
- 46:14Speaker 1: It's haunting us, breathing down our necks, asking us, when are.
- 46:19Speaker 10: We going to step forward?
- 46:22Speaker 1: Because there's something deep down inside of you that knows
- 46:26Speaker 1: that you're not where you're supposed to be. says I
- 46:30Speaker 1: want to be an engineer somebody else says I want
- 46:32Speaker 1: to be an actor somebody wants to be a singer
- 46:34Speaker 1: a doctor a hygienist an entrepreneur a hustler an innovator
- 46:40Speaker 1: a pioneer a farmer I don't know what it is
- 46:43Speaker 1: that you want to do but everybody's got something they
- 46:45Speaker 1: want to do everybody's got something they want to become
- 46:49Speaker 1: everybody's got somewhere they believe they've been destined to go
- 46:53Speaker 1: and oftentimes we don't hit these targets because we're not.
- 46:58Speaker 10: Considering the cost.
- 47:02Speaker 1: Sacrifice is like a currency it is a bridge to
- 47:06Speaker 1: the future and if you don't get acquainted with sacrifice
- 47:11Speaker 1: then you will never have your future you will never
- 47:13Speaker 1: have what you've aimed for you will never.
- 47:16Speaker 10: Hit your objectives.
- 47:18Speaker 1: This is the year that i get crystal clear on
- 47:21Speaker 1: my values on my parameters on my non-negotiables this is
- 47:27Speaker 1: the year that i make an investment in myself this
- 47:30Speaker 1: is the year This is not the year that I
- 47:33Speaker 1: play around with my life. This is not the year
- 47:36Speaker 1: that I sit and wait for destiny to hunt me down.
- 47:40Speaker 1: I will hunt everything down that belongs to me. So
- 47:46Speaker 1: this is not a Monday through Friday thing. It's a
- 47:49Speaker 1: Monday through Monday thing. Every single day, I'm beating on
- 47:54Speaker 1: my craft. Every single day. I'm looking to become more
- 47:57Speaker 1: than I was yesterday.
- 47:59Speaker 10: I am not in competition with anybody.
- 48:01Speaker 1: The hustler says the only person I am competing.
- 48:05Speaker 10: With is who I used to be yesterday.
- 48:08Speaker 1: You may not have been born with natural talent, but
- 48:12Speaker 1: you can put work in and build a skill set.
- 48:18Speaker 1: You can beat on your craft every single day. Put
- 48:21Speaker 1: the hours in. No days off mentality. There are some
- 48:32Speaker 1: things that you love too much. There are some people
- 48:36Speaker 1: that you've kept in your life.
- 48:37Speaker 10: They are toxic. They add no value. They are no
- 48:41Speaker 10: longer serving your vision.
- 48:43Speaker 1: And so you've got to begin to comb through your
- 48:45Speaker 1: life and discover what's serving my vision. I've got a vision.
- 48:53Speaker 1: I've got a destiny. I've got places to go. I've
- 48:57Speaker 1: got people to see. I've got tables to sit at.
- 49:00Speaker 1: I've got rooms to walk in. You've got work to do.
- 49:05Speaker 1: You've got a destiny to fulfill. You've got a purpose
- 49:08Speaker 1: to walk into. You've got a test to pass. You've
- 49:12Speaker 1: got dots to connect, rooms to walk in, stages to
- 49:17Speaker 1: stand on, and tables to sit down at. We all
- 49:20Speaker 1: want to do something. We all want to be somebody.
- 49:23Speaker 1: We all want to go somewhere. And if these things
- 49:26Speaker 1: are going to happen, we've got to stop habitually gravitating
- 49:30Speaker 1: to excuse. We get one opportunity to come this way.
- 49:38Speaker 1: We get one shot. We got one life to live.
- 49:42Speaker 1: Life is too short to make excuses. It is the
- 49:50Speaker 1: man that refuses to quit. It is the man that
- 49:53Speaker 1: refuses to put down his gloves that separates winners from wannabes.
- 50:01Speaker 10: It's muddy. It's bloody. At the end of the day,
- 50:06Speaker 10: it's worth it.
- 50:08Speaker 22: Just because others have failed, it doesn't mean that you're
- 50:11Speaker 22: going to fail. Just because others gave up, it doesn't
- 50:14Speaker 22: mean you're going to give up. Go after what you
- 50:17Speaker 22: want and go after what you believe in. The real
- 50:21Speaker 22: question is how bad do you want it and what
- 50:23Speaker 22: are you willing to do to get it?
- 50:27Speaker 10: It was never designed to be easy.
- 50:30Speaker 23: Ladies and gentlemen, the challenge is Had to happen.
- 50:36Speaker 10: They must happen. They will happen.
- 50:40Speaker 5: But we must carry on.
- 50:43Speaker 10: What do we do? How do we get through it?
- 50:46Speaker 1: So you got to learn how to get up when
- 50:48Speaker 1: everybody's sleeping. You only have 24 hours in a day.
- 50:52Speaker 1: You got to learn to manage the time that is
- 50:55Speaker 1: given to you. And this sacrifice is required. This means
- 50:58Speaker 1: that you can't binge watch your favorite television show every day.
- 51:02Speaker 1: This means that you can't be on social media every day.
- 51:05Speaker 1: This means that you can't do whatever you want all
- 51:07Speaker 1: day and think you're gonna manifest and become this person
- 51:10Speaker 1: and achieve this feat.
- 51:11Speaker 10: It's not gonna happen.
- 51:14Speaker 11: This is our house.
- 51:16Speaker 10: I was born a king. I was born to be
- 51:19Speaker 10: a winner. I was born to be a champion.
- 51:22Speaker 18: The difference between a champion and a loser is a mindset.
- 51:27Speaker 24: I want you guys to believe.
- 51:28Speaker 10: Don't just listen to me. Feel me in your soul.
- 51:34Speaker 10: Believe you can win.
- 51:38Speaker 5: If you stay ready, you don't have to get ready.
- 51:43Speaker 23: If you're looking for easy, easy doesn't count.
- 51:55Speaker 10: And you've got to get acquainted with sacrifice.
- 51:58Speaker 1: You can't have the future if you can't surrender something
- 52:02Speaker 1: that's no longer serving you. You cannot manifest. You cannot
- 52:07Speaker 1: become the next version of yourself. You cannot experience a
- 52:10Speaker 1: higher quality of life unless you sacrifice.
- 52:14Speaker 13: And when you get to the point where all you
- 52:17Speaker 13: want to do is be successful, as bad as you
- 52:19Speaker 13: want to breathe, then you'll be successful. And I'm here
- 52:22Speaker 13: to tell you, number one, that most of you say
- 52:24Speaker 13: you want to be successful, but you don't want it bad.
- 52:27Speaker 13: You just kind of want it. You don't want it
- 52:29Speaker 13: badder than you want to party. You don't want it
- 52:32Speaker 13: as much as you want to be cool. Most of
- 52:34Speaker 13: you don't want success as much as you want to sleep.
- 52:38Speaker 13: And I'm here to tell you today, if you got it,
- 52:40Speaker 13: somebody came to my office the other day crying. I said, look,
- 52:42Speaker 13: don't cry to give up. Cry to keep going. Don't
- 52:46Speaker 13: cry to quit. You're already in pain.
- 52:49Speaker 10: You're already hurt. Get a reward from it. Don't go
- 52:54Speaker 10: to sleep until you succeed.
- 52:59Speaker 2: The time has come.
- 53:02Speaker 10: The moment of truth is here.
- 53:06Speaker 1: I don't want to win one time. I don't want
- 53:08Speaker 1: to be noticed one time. I want to do it
- 53:11Speaker 1: over and over and over again. Do it again, no
- 53:15Speaker 1: matter how hard it was, no matter how much you
- 53:18Speaker 1: cried and you sweat and you bled.
- 53:20Speaker 10: Do it again.
- 53:21Speaker 18: And when I looked at my opponent across from me,
- 53:24Speaker 18: I told him, you're not hungry enough.
- 53:28Speaker 10: You don't want this enough. My life on the line.
- 53:33Speaker 2: You hear me?
- 53:33Speaker 18: Keep your life on the line today. Everything on the line.
- 53:38Speaker 18: We didn't come this far to come this far. We
- 53:43Speaker 18: came here to be champions.
- 53:51Speaker 10: I'll say it again.
- 53:51Speaker 1: The future is very expensive. Somebody says, I want to
- 53:58Speaker 1: be an engineer. Somebody else says, I want to be
- 53:59Speaker 1: an actor. Somebody wants to be a singer, a doctor,
- 54:03Speaker 1: a hygienist, an entrepreneur, a hustler, an innovator, a pioneer.
- 54:09Speaker 1: Everybody's got somewhere they believe they've been destined to go.
- 54:12Speaker 1: And oftentimes we don't hit these targets because we're not
- 54:18Speaker 1: considering the cost.
- 54:22Speaker 22: Your dreams aren't going to come true on their own.
- 54:24Speaker 22: So it's time to get to work. It's not going
- 54:28Speaker 22: to be easy. Great things never get dropped in your
- 54:31Speaker 22: lap and they never start from comfort zones. If you
- 54:35Speaker 22: want to be something you've never been, you need to
- 54:38Speaker 22: do something you've never done. Just because others didn't have
- 54:43Speaker 22: the strength to fight for what they believe in, it
- 54:45Speaker 22: doesn't mean that you'll fall to the same weakness.
- 54:50Speaker 10: Don't cry. Don't say you don't have it. Don't say
- 54:55Speaker 10: you can't stand it. You got to stand up.
- 55:00Speaker 1: So, you know, one of your biggest problems is that
- 55:03Speaker 1: you keep thinking that there is another you. And for me,
- 55:08Speaker 1: I started to accomplish more than I ever have in
- 55:10Speaker 1: my life when I realized that there is nobody like me,
- 55:14Speaker 1: that there is nobody that can do what I can do.
- 55:19Speaker 1: You have to come to the resolve today, now, that
- 55:22Speaker 1: you don't need anyone's permission to make your dream a reality.
- 55:30Speaker 13: There are people in your life who are trying to
- 55:32Speaker 13: count you out. There are people in your life who
- 55:35Speaker 13: are trying to tell you you can't make it, who
- 55:38Speaker 13: doubt your gifting, who doubt your greatness. When your family
- 55:45Speaker 13: members try to throw dirt on what you're trying to do,
- 55:48Speaker 13: I need you to shake it off and step over it.
- 55:51Speaker 10: Because you got to get.
- 55:52Speaker 13: To a place where you recognize I can't be stopped.
- 55:59Speaker 13: I need you to develop an attitude that I cannot
- 56:03Speaker 13: be stopped and the world may try to stop you,
- 56:06Speaker 13: but I need you to declare I cannot be stopped. Yeah,
- 56:10Speaker 13: my destiny is too strong. My dreams are too big.
- 56:15Speaker 13: The things that God has for me is too great.
- 56:18Speaker 10: I cannot be stopped.
- 56:22Speaker 25: I know you feel icky. I know you feel like dark, right?
- 56:26Speaker 25: But stop talking about it. Stop talking to other people
- 56:30Speaker 25: about it. Like stop being negative because nothing good is
- 56:33Speaker 25: going to come out of being negative.
- 56:36Speaker 5: It's okay to be there.
- 56:37Speaker 25: But if you're going to be in a dark space,
- 56:39Speaker 25: you got to change your expectations. Like you can't expect
- 56:42Speaker 25: to attract good people.
- 56:44Speaker 10: You can't attract.
- 56:45Speaker 25: Good situations or circumstance. Like you can't do it doing
- 56:48Speaker 25: negative stuff. I don't care how you feel. Say something different.
- 56:53Speaker 25: I don't care how you feel.
- 56:55Speaker 10: Don't answer the phone with the people who want to gossip.
- 56:58Speaker 1: Okay, if you're going to take responsibility of your life,
- 57:00Speaker 1: you have to remove toxic people, negative people, narcissistic people,
- 57:05Speaker 1: people that are not serving the vision. You got to
- 57:09Speaker 1: come to the resolve that you are going to eradicate
- 57:12Speaker 1: negative self-talk. But you got to silence the voices in
- 57:16Speaker 1: your head that are telling you, you are not going
- 57:18Speaker 1: to make it.
- 57:20Speaker 5: You are not going to win. You need a shortcut.
- 57:23Speaker 5: You need a cheat code.
- 57:25Speaker 1: Eliminate the negative self-sabotaging voices. Find a mirror and tell
- 57:31Speaker 1: yourself I got this today.
- 57:35Speaker 13: To be able at any moment to sacrifice what we
- 57:39Speaker 13: are for what we could be.
- 57:40Speaker 10: I don't do well in math. You're right. You ain't
- 57:43Speaker 10: never studied.
- 57:45Speaker 13: I'm not good in writing because you have never written before.
- 57:51Speaker 13: But I dare you to fail in writing for a
- 57:53Speaker 13: whole year to see if you can get to the
- 57:54Speaker 13: end I dare you to fail. I dare you to
- 57:57Speaker 13: take that same class over and over again.
- 57:59Speaker 10: I dare you to stop dropping classes like you saw.
- 58:04Speaker 10: Always want to give up. I'm dropping. Why are you dropping?
- 58:10Speaker 2: No one said it was supposed to be easy.
- 58:15Speaker 10: So when it gets tough, you got.
- 58:19Speaker 5: To get tough.
- 58:23Speaker 1: And so you've got to learn how to sacrifice your time.
- 58:25Speaker 1: You've got to sacrifice. When you want to sleep, you
- 58:27Speaker 1: have to wake up. When you want to watch that movie,
- 58:31Speaker 1: you've got to read that book. You might be hanging
- 58:35Speaker 1: on by a thread right now, burned out on the
- 58:38Speaker 1: verge of dropout, but I need you to take a
- 58:41Speaker 1: moment and garner up all the belief that you have
- 58:44Speaker 1: left in yourself and in the idea of what is
- 58:49Speaker 1: possible to make this thing happen.
- 58:54Speaker 24: Life is a series of fights. The worst thing you
- 58:57Speaker 24: can do is run away from your fights. Your promotion
- 59:02Speaker 24: is in the fight. Your promotion and your next level
- 59:05Speaker 24: is about you getting to this war, getting to this
- 59:08Speaker 24: battle and winning.
- 59:10Speaker 10: But to win fights, you've got to have stamina.
- 59:12Speaker 24: You've got to be ready to fight and bounce back,
- 59:14Speaker 24: punch and counterpunch, jab and jab back.
- 59:18Speaker 10: And you better learn how to fight.
- 59:23Speaker 1: It is diligence and dedication that separates the all-time greats
- 59:29Speaker 1: from the one-hit wonders.
- 59:30Speaker 10: Do you want to do this thing one time?
- 59:33Speaker 1: Or do you want to be notorious for winning over
- 59:36Speaker 1: and over and over again?
- 59:40Speaker 13: You have to have the mindset that says, I'm not
- 59:43Speaker 13: going to settle for anything less but greatness.
- 59:46Speaker 10: I'm not going to settle for average.
- 59:48Speaker 13: I'm not settling for anything less than for what I
- 59:52Speaker 13: know I was created to have.
- 59:56Speaker 24: So I know life is hard sometimes, but right now
- 59:58Speaker 24: I need you to get in position to fight. What's
- 1:00:02Speaker 24: your position to fight? What's your mindset to fight? What's
- 1:00:05Speaker 24: your mentality? When you about to fight, you get ready
- 1:00:08Speaker 24: to fight. You know a fight's coming. Your adrenaline begins
- 1:00:11Speaker 24: to pump. Your heart begins to race. Your mind gets
- 1:00:15Speaker 24: right and say, look, I'm not going to just fight.
- 1:00:17Speaker 24: I'm going to win this battle. And sucker, you're going down.
- 1:00:27Speaker 13: It's time to fight the good fight of faith.
- 1:00:29Speaker 10: That's right.
- 1:00:30Speaker 13: If you got faith for it, you gotta have fight
- 1:00:33Speaker 13: for it. This is not gonna come easy. You gotta
- 1:00:36Speaker 13: put on your boxing glove. You gotta step into the ring.
- 1:00:40Speaker 13: You gotta hear the bell go ding, ding.
- 1:00:43Speaker 23: It's about pushing yourself and giving it 110% of everything
- 1:00:49Speaker 23: you got. There is nothing that you can do once
- 1:00:53Speaker 23: you're here Except finish what you start
- 1:01:03Speaker 18: You leave every drop of your blood on that field today,
- 1:01:05Speaker 18: and I'm proud of you we lost a draw
