- 0:50Oh, rap cast. That's right? Yeah? How long did you prepare
- 0:56that? That was amazing time? Yeah? Yeah, it was just it's
- 1:00just you know, this may surprise you, but I opened my mouth and
- 1:07things just come out. That's amazing. That's amazing. You're you're the glue
- 1:14that holds all together. That's right. Jas was in the UK today?
- 1:18What whoa Yeah, that's like whole other country that is. I'm surprised we
- 1:25let him go. See see dude his jewel rings seeing the top doing his
- 1:30jewel rings. No, all right, Daniel's like, I don't I don't
- 1:36understand that one. No. No, Simon remember Simon, the British kid
- 1:42who he did his drawings and they came to life and then uh Mike Myers
- 1:48parodied it on on s n L. No, No, we're talking anyone
- 1:53out there, anyone out there in Trek castle Land know what I'm talking about.
- 1:57The song was like, hey, you know, my name is Simon
- 2:01and the things are droll come true? No, no shirt? Yeah,
- 2:08yeah, Simon in the room with us right now. I'm sure that in
- 2:15your head. Hello, my name is Simon. You knows. Oh boy,
- 2:23I'm doing my drool rings. No, that's fantastic. All right,
- 2:31Scott, how are you doing? Do you see Simon as well? I?
- 2:35Uh yeah, yeah, he's at the back seat there you go.
- 2:40The only Simon I know is that game with the four lights on it and
- 2:44all right, all right, okay, so let me show you. I
- 2:47want to show you my shirt. Okay. Nice. It's just a silhouette
- 2:54of Captain Kirk and company and it says, chicks take the uniform. Now
- 2:59there's a story behind this. So about seven years ago I went to Western
- 3:07Michigan University's auditorium and a Miller Auditorium and uh, the MythBusters were doing a
- 3:15farewell tour there. Okay. So it was Adam Savage and Jamie Hydeman MythBusters
- 3:22and they they were on stage and you know, they're going over like telling
- 3:27stories about the past, and they they're brought out a couple of props from
- 3:30old shows and they brought out their a brand new one of those slow motion
- 3:36cameras, and they're like, oh, we're gonna need a volunteer from the
- 3:39audience, and and Jamie goes over and pick somebody, and Adam's sort of
- 3:43like looking around. And I thought to myself in that moment, what's the
- 3:47best way I can get Adam Savage's attention, so he'll pick me? And
- 3:52so I figured maybe I'll just call out his name, and I just said
- 3:55Adam, and immediately his eyes guarded straight towards me, and he's like,
- 4:00you come up stage. So I got on stage and I shook both their
- 4:03hands, and me and another guy, uh stood in front of this camera
- 4:09and just this is kind of a visual so for those listening, but we
- 4:14just went like this and just made this little puff with our mouths and they
- 4:19showed it in super high slow motion and it looked weird and crazy, and
- 4:27but yeah, I got to meet the MythBusters. And when I got on
- 4:30stage, this is the part where the shirt comes in. Adam Savage shakes
- 4:34my hand, looks at me, looks at my shirt and goes, hey,
- 4:38I really like that shirt, man. So that's that's my Adam Savage
- 4:43story. Nice did you take the shirt off and give it to him?
- 4:48How did you? Well? Yeah, then he signed my chest and he
- 4:51gave me the shirt. Yeah, that's exactly that's how it works. I'm
- 4:57sorry it wasn't more exciting. I'm sorry there wasn't more of a you know,
- 5:01and then we got a fight on stage us fight fight music start playing.
- 5:15Oh my god, oh my god. Three way nerd alert do it
- 5:20warning warning, nerd alert, nerd alert. I don't ever want to have
- 5:28another three way with you guys again. What are you talking about? Listen,
- 5:30you waited, you waited years for this three way. That's right,
- 5:35and you wait a little bit longer, but you'll get it. You know.
- 5:40My mom's listening. Hi, Bob, hello, all the things we've
- 5:46said. Does she remember Simon in his showings? Yeah, I'll have to
- 5:51ask her. Oh, anyways, how are you, Daniel. I'm good,
- 5:58I'm good. Yeah, getting a new roof. It might be dropping
- 6:02a surprise episode later this week. I guess we'll see what happens. Okay,
- 6:08I don't want to surprise episode. That interview I was telling you guys
- 6:12about. Oh okay, yeah, yeah, so yeah, we'll see cool,
- 6:16we'll see we're King on it so cool, cool looking forward. You
- 6:19have to stay tuned yep, for sure, So make sure you're subscribed in
- 6:24the podcast feeding on the YouTube to see that when it drops later this week.
- 6:30Probably absolutely, Yeah, but Dan, are you you doing all right?
- 6:36I'm sick again. I could probably hear it my voice a little bit.
- 6:42Yeah, I don't know. I mean I had that cold that lasted
- 6:44forever and then I was pretty much over it. And last weekend I did
- 6:47some yard work and I don't know if I kicked up a bunch of pollen
- 6:50or a bunch of mold or whatever, but yeah, it's Oh. I've
- 6:56been a raspy mess all week. I feel a lot better than I did.
- 7:00But I sound like crap. I know that. So sorry everyone,
- 7:06Typhoid Dan, that's me TiO D. Yeah, allergies. I got hit
- 7:13Friday with allergies. I went to my son's track me and I rode my
- 7:17motorcycle and as soon as I got there, like my eyes just started watering
- 7:23and I started sneezing. And I'm glad I had sunglasses on because I went
- 7:27to the bathroom and I took my sunglasses off and it looked like I was
- 7:30it's funny. The funny part is it was at my old high school and
- 7:33it looked like me after like my girlfriend broke up with me in high school.
- 7:38I've just my I was all puppy and I looked a mess. I'm
- 7:43like, yeah, I'm keep my sunglasses on. So you know, you
- 7:45know, it doesn't help when you when you lean over in your wife's car.
- 7:48Do you see that the kids put this in the uh in the cup
- 7:54holder? Nice? Okay, so what do you what do you guys call
- 7:58that your side? You're part of the as this is a danda line,
- 8:01okay, so you know, as someone afflicted right now, I want to
- 8:09throw this out the window. As a dad, I'm like, no way,
- 8:11man. If I throw this out the window, that's fifty two more
- 8:15dandelions that I got pull next week. So nope, it'll stay right there.
- 8:22Yeah, you know what I did one year, So a few years
- 8:24ago, the dandallions were so bad. I looked out in the front yard
- 8:28and there were those, you know, the puffy ones all over the place.
- 8:31I grabbed an extension cord and the shot back and I went around the
- 8:35yard and I sucked up every one of those seats yes, my wife says
- 8:41that, don't let me fool you. I was crying, not allergies.
- 8:45Yeah, well I was not crying. Klingon stone have tear ducks. He
- 8:50wasn't crying, right, that's right, that's right. Well, hey,
- 8:54Dan, when we go to the convention later next month, the trick Long
- 8:58Island, Yeah, they need to get you a face mask and like a
- 9:01gallon of a hand sanitizer to make sure we still have it left over from
- 9:11uh, from from COVID. I don't know if you remember, but yeah,
- 9:15yeah, our governor at the time had the state manufacturer hand sanitizer and
- 9:22slapped the label on all of it that said New York State Clean. So
- 9:26it's still all over the place. You walk around the state and you just
- 9:28see bottles of this ship everywhere. Do you remember what they were selling that
- 9:33it was never originally designed for. Like it was coming in like soap containers
- 9:37and like anything they could put it in on top, and so what was
- 9:45happening What was happening in New York State? It was being bottled by the
- 9:50Department of Corrections. They were having they were having inmates bottle this stuff and
- 9:56maybe it would be a gallon it would be a gallon jug. It looked
- 9:58like, uh, you know the gallon jug of washer fluid that you buy
- 10:01at the at the gas, except that at a pump top on the top,
- 10:07okay, And you would touch this thing and it would shoot the stuff
- 10:09across the room. And the reason, well, the reason for that was
- 10:16it's the Department of Corrections. These these these pumps were meant for ketchup,
- 10:22so it was meant for something thick. So the suction ratio in this this
- 10:28tube was such that it could suck ketchup through a straw this long. You
- 10:35then put something with the consistency of water in there, and it was literally
- 10:39shooting it across the room. I bought a gallon for a for a party
- 10:48that we had, and like three squirts were used and that's it. We
- 10:52still have the gallon. I don't know what to do with it. I
- 10:54don't know if I could burn it, throw it away. It's alcohol.
- 11:00It's when you have the backyard fire pit. You need to get it started
- 11:03quick. Just there on there, I'll go right, yeah, nice talking
- 11:11about what are we talking about here? Yeah, let's get to the news
- 11:16Star trek news. It reminds me of old Trek cast when it was like
- 11:22all COVID talk all the time. Right, Yeah, So our first news
- 11:26story comes to us from trekmovie dot com and riker Jonathan Fraakes himself is weighing
- 11:31in on streaming Star Trek movies. Apparently he is very high on this.
- 11:39He loves the idea of making more direct to streaming Star Trek films. He
- 11:45says things are going great with the Section thirty one film. He also mentioned
- 11:48that this could be a possibility for lower decks going forward, maybe Section thirty
- 11:54a two hour film, perhaps for streaming. He also thinks that's a possibility
- 12:00for Star Trek Legacy, maybe to get a series of films instead of a
- 12:05whole season. So I don't know, what do you guys think, would
- 12:09you rather two hour chunks here and there? You know, this reminds me
- 12:13of probably circa maybe two thousand and two, two thousand and three, they
- 12:22talked about this, you know, back then they were called made for TV
- 12:26movies, right, And I can remember post TNG, post Deep Space nine,
- 12:33post Voyager, probably even post Enterprise, but maybe while Enterprise was still
- 12:39on the air, they that was one of the ideas that was being kicked
- 12:41around. We should do some some made for TV movies or some mini series.
- 12:46The casts of those three twenty fourth century era shows are young enough that
- 12:50we could have some some overlap with characters and like everybody was excited about it,
- 12:56never happened, Never happens, So let's do it's one five years later.
- 13:03If there's no new ideas, Yeah no, there isn't. There's no
- 13:07new ideas. They just go to the bin, go dust this off,
- 13:11or do that thing that Scott did, and they did exactly exactly. Yeah,
- 13:16like, let's try this one. Well, of all the people that
- 13:20could say they're going to and make it happen, I would, you know,
- 13:26trust the power of freaks, you know, I mean, if they
- 13:30could just get him and carry Terry Metallist room Chestpis disagrees, Nope, will
- 13:35die yeap, Oh yeah, I more than likely will. Yeah. I
- 13:41mean this will be like you know, the the fifteen different Star Trek fours
- 13:45we're supposed to get, and the god knows how many other things they announced
- 13:48and and never happened. So sure, yeah, all right, Our next
- 13:54new story comes to us from screen Rant, and we are finding out a
- 13:58little bit more why we have not seen Orca in Star Trek Discovery season five.
- 14:03There was an interview done recently with Snekwa Martin Green where she talked about
- 14:07this. She was talking to Trek Movie about it, and they asked her
- 14:11like, hey, you know, you had an opportunity when you went into
- 14:15that pocket dimension to bring Lorca in, or you could have found any reason
- 14:20to bring him in. Why not, you know, because we never had
- 14:22prime Lorca And she said, well, at the time we were filming,
- 14:26we did not think that this was going to be our last season, So
- 14:31they weren't thinking that way to pull out all the stops. Really. Yeah,
- 14:35so when they because remember they filmed this season quite a while ago and
- 14:39then it's been in the back, you know, being worked on quite a
- 14:41bit. So originally when they were filming season five, they just thought they
- 14:46were doing a grand another season. Does that we're going to get a cliffhanger?
- 14:52I hope. No, No, we're not great cliffhanger, but we're
- 14:56going to get We're going to get is is a crappy finale? Well,
- 15:01we're gonna get together. We're gonna get a thrown together enterprise season four mm
- 15:07hmm finale, Yeah, episode which will be less upsetting, because you know,
- 15:13I actually liked that show me too. Yeah, so I thought that
- 15:20was an interesting omission, you know. And admission sorry about saying that they
- 15:26weren't thinking that this was the final season when they first started shooting this and
- 15:33speaking of final season, yeah, that's telling right. Our last article comes
- 15:39to us today from CBR, and we are getting an encouraging update on The
- 15:43Orville season four. Yeah, and this is straight from uh Seth MacFarlane himself.
- 15:50He was on something called The Mike Henry Show. I don't know what
- 15:54that is. I don't know if you guys are familiar with that featuring Mike
- 16:00Henry. Anyway, he was on The Mike Henry Show and he said The
- 16:07Orville was a passion project. And he says, wait, I say it
- 16:11was, but I don't really mean it was because there will be more.
- 16:15So, yeah, made TV movie, right right, They're gonna make very
- 16:21short or bell tracks or whatever they're gonna call. Yeah, that says comic
- 16:29book to me. Could be that's what That's what that says to me.
- 16:34Yeah, it's always something disappointing like that when they're like, oh, I
- 16:37guess what, No, there's more. Yeah, person. It's Amazon.
- 16:44I would not assume his I would not assume his gender. I said male
- 16:48person, and I'm saying I would not assume his gender. Did they stop
- 16:53at your window and be like, hey, do I need to drop it
- 16:56off here? No? I always wonder. I always wonder if they gonna
- 17:00do that. Yeah, I'm always prepared to, you know, have a
- 17:07nice little conversation. Yeah on air? Why not? Why not? Have
- 17:15you? Have you been approached by any of the any of the Mormons or
- 17:19Jovah witnesses or anything like that. Not not lately lately. There was that
- 17:22one time. Yeah, I just recently watched rewatched that video. You were
- 17:33hilaro. Yeah, that was a good one. I loved it. She
- 17:37was expecting that. No, if anybody doesn't know what I'm talking about,
- 17:44God approached while he was doing it just before we record. You guys recorded
- 17:48this is a while ago, and this person basically approached his dad and talking
- 17:52to him about you know, have you heard the Good Word? What do
- 17:55you believe it? He's basically just like I believe that one day there's gonna
- 18:00be a federation of the planets. That was night. She's like, oh,
- 18:06okay, I guess an outsider would probably one, and I said,
- 18:14yeah, I think about it every Sunday at eleven. Oh all right,
- 18:22well that's that's all the news stories. So let's get to the main topic.
- 18:30Fun will now come out. I'm gonna resell. What was that?
- 18:37Dan, dan freeze, Dan froze. Oh no, he said something and
- 18:45then he froze. All right. You know, he might have said I'll
- 18:49be right back. Maybe maybe, or he's like, oh, we've got
- 18:55to the point where we're going to talk about Discovery. No, he's back,
- 18:59and there he is. Yeah, you dipped out because you can't handle
- 19:03this. Yeah, this is the segment of the show where just Daniel and
- 19:07I. That's right, that's right, all right, So we're talking about
- 19:14episode five from season five, Mirrors. The official log line is Captain Burnham
- 19:21and Book journey into an extra dimensional space in search of the next clue to
- 19:26the location of the progenitor's power. Meanwhile, Rayner navigates his first mission in
- 19:33command of the USS Discovery, and Culbert opens up to Tilly. I mean
- 19:40that that's basically all the plot points in the film. The can I say
- 19:44something, yes, go for it. Okay, you guys are familiar with
- 19:48the fill in the word books. You know, choose an adjective, choosing
- 19:52now and choose a show a couple of times, yeah, mad lips,
- 19:56Oh I got more, we can hi. I think that's how the writers
- 20:00are writing these episodes, because I mean they're just coming across like random things
- 20:08and doing random things. It's like, Okay, they discover what ship name
- 20:14a ship and people are like the i SS Enterprise, you know, okay,
- 20:19that's the ship. Like what okay, No, no, it wasn't
- 20:23random, it was cost saving. They have sets, they have the strange
- 20:30New World sets. I was going to say, you know, it's like
- 20:36it's like every time, it's like when you're watching TNG, every time they
- 20:38showed another Federation ship, it's like, is that the battle bridge. That's
- 20:42the battle bridge. Yeah, it's the battle bridge for new curtains and we're
- 20:47gonna we're gonna take ops and helm and we're gonna do this. We're gonna.
- 20:52Yeah, they've done that a lot in Star Trek. The from Star
- 20:55Trek six, the Federation President's office was time forward. Yeah, a pro
- 21:00tradition. Yeah, no, I get that, I get that. This
- 21:03was even this was even further than that though. This was Hey, it's
- 21:07the same ship from the universe, so we don't have to change anything.
- 21:12Mm hmm, no, regress. We'll just turn the lights down a little
- 21:18bit and put some different posters on the wall. If we make it dark,
- 21:21that means it's evil. Yeah, yeah, or you gotta you gotta
- 21:26tilt the camera like this, right, like it's a Batman episode. Yes,
- 21:33that's great. I met my I met my Layer anyway, oh my
- 21:44god. Yeah. Uh yeah. So basically there's like a a pocket dimension
- 21:52that they need to go to. They can't get into it with the Discovery,
- 21:56so they use Bookship and and Burnham he used a shuttle, but bookship
- 22:02is gone. Oh that's right. Yeah, a shuttle. Yeah was it
- 22:06a shuttle? What ship was it? It was? It was just a
- 22:08Discovery shuttle. Yeah, that's a huge shuttle. Well, when you three
- 22:15d printed five minutes before you leave, I mean, however, you want
- 22:21with detachable in the cells? Probably sure, yep? Why not? Yeah?
- 22:26So they went over and that's where they found the I S Enterprise,
- 22:33which looked exactly like the Strange World set. Yeah. So so here's what
- 22:41I want to know. She brings his book because of his half assed connection
- 22:45to this girl, and uh, you know in all the interactions, she
- 22:52couldn't care less that he goes by the name Cleveland Booker and knew her dad.
- 22:59So my question is it's Michael gonna continue to have a book by her
- 23:07side for the next five episodes on this mission, even though we've already seen
- 23:11that it has zero bearing on how the story plays out. Uh well,
- 23:15yeah, because this whole season is about connections and how you know the power
- 23:22of friendship can overcome all So the power friendship. Yeah, it's gonna end
- 23:27with all of them standing together like the care bears and light will emit from
- 23:32their tummies. And you know, this just shows the difference between this show
- 23:37and previous iterations. Are you talking with the care bear stare? What do
- 23:41you do? Yes? Yeah, it took me like app a beat that
- 23:47I'm like, oh yeah, So Picard had Picard had one girlfriend once on
- 23:53the on the ship they played flutes and pianos in the Jefferies Tube together.
- 24:02She was in one episode she went on one away mission where her presence may
- 24:11have possibly impacted a command decision and she transfers off the ship. Right,
- 24:18and that was the right thing to do. Yeah, Michael, Michael's got
- 24:23her on again, off again boyfriend going on two person away missions, which
- 24:32that's also just like, yeah, standard away team is four people, right,
- 24:38so note we're only gonna do two only one of them is an actual
- 24:41star fleet officer and also she's also the captain of the ship and the other
- 24:48person, while being a civilian, is also her on again, off again
- 24:52boyfriend. It's just it's bad writing. It's just so bad. It's so
- 24:56bad. Yeah, and does bring up another point we haven't brought up yet,
- 25:02that the Brain were better with the orror of mystery around their appearance.
- 25:06They Yeah, they just ruined the Breen So thank you for that. The
- 25:14Brindalorians, I don't get the whole. So they were talking about two different
- 25:21faces. I didn't that because one likely and then the other one is prosthetics.
- 25:26Yeah, so you have the expensive to film Brain and the cheap to
- 25:30film Braing. Okay, but what's what's done? No explanation. I didn't
- 25:36get it either. And because of that, Okay, there's no explanation.
- 25:38They're talking about two faces, so you're talking about their regular face and the
- 25:45c g I face. I wasn't sure if it was that or since they
- 25:49apparently don't are Mandalorians and don't really take off their helmets, like is that
- 25:53their face their helmet is one? I thought that at first, and they
- 25:56take off the helmet and this is my true face and I don't normally show
- 26:00my true face face the try face. Yes, yeah, I think there
- 26:07was a he Man action figure that was that. Oh yeah, try collapse,
- 26:11try clops, Nope, no, try claps, three three eyes,
- 26:15three faces was many faces man face warning nerd alert ner I will proudly,
- 26:27proudly accept that nerd alert. That's right, because you've got the power.
- 26:32I do have the power. That's right. Well, that's his name from
- 26:34now on. Many faces Faces. I don't even remember the character same now
- 26:41I don't know. That's that whole that whole thing. It's like, okay,
- 26:48so they they fall in love. Why I don't. I don't understand
- 26:55what happened there to make them they just they didn't flesh that out at all.
- 27:00It's all right, you're you're the delivery driver, and you know I'm
- 27:06the I'm the receiving clerk, and you know I do your paperwork every Tuesday
- 27:11when you come here and and you convinced me to take my helmet off,
- 27:15and now we're in love. That's all it was. I didn't see any
- 27:18chemistry. No, there's no chemistry. I was waiting. Okay, So
- 27:26last week it was fine because we don't know the backstory yet, and I'm
- 27:33like, okay, we'll get the backstory and we'll see why these two are
- 27:37a pair. They'll show us why these two are a pair. And they
- 27:41didn't show us. They just told us. These two people were in close
- 27:44proximity every Tuesday for six months and now they're in love. Except that,
- 27:48Yep, it would have been better if they showed her, you know,
- 27:55like the way she was kind of like scamming the Breen and then somehow she
- 28:00him. But you know, eventually they're gonna get caught, right, and
- 28:04and so she tells him, look, you're gonna get in trouble. You're
- 28:07gonna get killed for for failing to catch me. So just come with me
- 28:12and I'll take you somewhere safe and that way you can live. And then
- 28:17they fall in love as they're traveling, and then you do flashback because in
- 28:21that way it's more believable and organic how they fell in love. Just hey,
- 28:26we meet up every now and then, and and I guess we're in
- 28:29love now. Yeah, so Scott, you driving truck right? I do?
- 28:37Have you ever fell in love with the receiving clerk? Almost? Never?
- 28:41Almost, I'm pretty sure. Wait a minute, was des there a
- 28:47receiving clerk? Is that how you guys met? Is that your your?
- 28:51Is that the family? We worked in the customer service field. We worked
- 28:55at a a regional store called Meyer and and uh, it's kind of like
- 29:00a Walmart out here in the Midwest. And she worked in the she worked
- 29:04in the photo lab and I was a cash here. And that's how we
- 29:08met. She she developed some compromising photos and yeah, exactly it, That's
- 29:15exactly it. No, No, you know, you have such little interaction.
- 29:21I was thinking about this too. You have such little interaction with the
- 29:25person behind the counter. You know that even if you see each other every
- 29:27day, there's no way these two, especially with the mask and the barriers
- 29:33and the people watching. You know, they might have flirted a little bit,
- 29:37but you know, developed feelings. Yeah, that's right, says wife's
- 29:45listening. So, yeah, I didn't buy it. I didn't buy it.
- 29:49I've never I've never fallen in love with with with the a clerk and
- 29:55the mask thing. Falling in love with someone behind the mask is ridiculous.
- 29:59This, this would be the equivalent of you know, you're a fan of
- 30:03the Cleveland Indians and you go to the games all the time, and you
- 30:08you fall in love with the mascot. You know, just it's the way.
- 30:15It just drives me crazy. I love him, I don't care what
- 30:18he looks like underneath there. And then one day he just takes that big
- 30:22giant head off and it's like, whoa hurry, Dan, you're saying you
- 30:33couldn't see Gritty there no Philadelphia Flyers mask no longer. Stare at him exactly
- 30:41those eyes, those eyes they're messrizing and look at that strong beard to take
- 30:51this shirt off. Oh no, So that's your gut reaction, whatever you
- 31:00Paul love, if somebody is you take your third off, it's the first
- 31:04step saying it's the Indian Guardians. Now, it's that the Cleveland Guardians.
- 31:11Now yes, yes, sorry, yeah, sorry, teams change their names,
- 31:18I will call them the Cleveland Guardians of forever. Yeah. If I'm
- 31:22gonna have to say it, I'm gonna I'm gonna check it out. What
- 31:23about the Galaxy. What's that the Guardians of the Galaxy. Well, that's
- 31:29not Star Trek, that's true. You're right, stan Brand exactly. We've
- 31:37never talked about it. It's alway Star Trek all the time. Very predictable,
- 31:44are we Yep? Yep? And a little bit of Batman, that's
- 31:49right. But yeah, yeah, more Eddy Moore synopsis anymore? I mean,
- 32:00what else happened? At one point? Book and what's his name?
- 32:09Locke Lock? The Breen guy, what's his name? Lock? Is it
- 32:15mall in Lock? They got separated by some force field or something, and
- 32:22so Book and and Mal had to go and take them down and get them.
- 32:29That part wasn't real clear to me, Like what room were they in?
- 32:31They didn't show like maybe an overhead shot or it wasn't you know,
- 32:36the set was weirdly laid out. I didn't understand, you know, but
- 32:42whatever, who is Casey Smith? New new person? Hey welcome? Yeah
- 32:49they liked the show, so all right, cool if you enjoyed it.
- 32:53But you're right the the them being separated and then all of a sudden they're
- 32:58like four feet from each other with phasers pointed at each other, just kind
- 33:00of talking and bored, like how I don't understand how that happened? And
- 33:08yeah, I don't know because they were in sick bay, right right,
- 33:15Okay, guys, are there anything The writing of the show isn't very good.
- 33:23You know, they're just getting getting going. I'm sure. I'm sure
- 33:28Discovery will find it's it's you know, third season charm. There you go,
- 33:35Yeah, it's fine. Everything fine. They've written themselves into so many
- 33:38corners. You know, you've got this this, this wrist mounted replicator.
- 33:45Mm hmm, I mean replicate yourself some armor and take the first shot.
- 33:52Yeah, it's just that nothing makes They can do so many things now that
- 33:58nothing they do makes sense anymore. Yeah, we keep saying it. They
- 34:02need rules for the technology, so then you know what's possible and what isn't.
- 34:07Yeah, yep, I'd like to see what the show bible says.
- 34:10Every show has the show bible, you know that that gives those kind of
- 34:15rules like you can do this, you can't do this, this is capable
- 34:16of that. Every every show is supposed to have a show bible. I'm
- 34:21starting to wonder if this one does. You know, this is how these
- 34:24certain types of you know, characters behave or species behaves. You know,
- 34:29this is what they likely do. You know, ship's got this many people,
- 34:32it's it's it's a reference guy that I don't know if any of the
- 34:37writers are looking at. Yeah, I don't know. But anyways, so
- 34:45from there, Burnham, Captain Burnham and Maul figure out how to take down
- 34:53the force fields I guess kind of, and and they get out of there.
- 35:00But then there's more problems and the ship is going to be stuck in
- 35:02the pocket universe. And so Book and and burn and figure out by using
- 35:07a tractor beam they can somehow get out. That wasn't clear to me either,
- 35:13Like what what was that about the US tractor beam? Only they weren't.
- 35:21They weren't doing the towing. They were being towed, but by they
- 35:23were, it was like a lasso. They were throwing their lasso onto another
- 35:28ship and having that ship pulled them out of the mud. Okay, so
- 35:30they were hooking onto Discovery, and Discovery they were right. They shot their
- 35:36tractor beam, ount Discovery grabbed onto their tractor beam. Okay, because Discovery
- 35:39couldn't stand into that, they wouldn't have known to throw a tractor beam into
- 35:44the anomaly or whatever. They were in. So the communication that they that
- 35:50they did where it was like it was like four three two or something,
- 35:54and he recognized that from from a story story. Yeah, okay, all
- 36:00right, makes zero sense whatsoever. If you can send numbers for someone to
- 36:08read, you can communicate with them. Yeah, well that's how that's how
- 36:14communication works, that's how binary works, that's how morse code works. If
- 36:22you could send a series of numbers, you can communicate. This is the
- 36:27kind of shit where it's like, this doesn't make any sense. Okay,
- 36:32to be fair, I will say this. They did mention the story ahead
- 36:36of time that she had been studying his culture, so that was kind of
- 36:42like the writers saying, this is foreshadowing. I get that, I understand
- 36:45foreshadowing, but when the foreshadowing doesn't make any sense, right, I'm gonna
- 36:50send him. I'm gonna send him a code that he might understand because I
- 36:55read a story that I'm pretty sure he also read. Or I could send
- 37:00a goddamn s O S like every naval ship for the last seven thousand years
- 37:06has been trying to do. Here, let's try this. I'm gonna send
- 37:09you some numbers based off of story, and you tell me if you can
- 37:14figure it out three and one, three and one, yeah, section thirty
- 37:20one. No, there's three of us doing one podcast now see. Yeah.
- 37:27But but if instead you would said, hey, Dan, listen to
- 37:30this, and I have uh a Starfleet communications person behind me who could say,
- 37:40there's those are dots and dashes that must be at SS Dieja. Every
- 37:45time I think an episode is okay, I watched trek Cast and I learned
- 37:49about ten plot. Yes, the track cast, the place where you go
- 37:55to hate Discovery. Oh my god, I'm sorry. I don't mean to
- 38:01always I don't. I don't mean to always dump dump on this show.
- 38:07I want to love this show. I want to love it so badly.
- 38:10But there's but there's so many reasons not to, and some of them are
- 38:15such dumb reasons. You know. I'll tell friends of mine when these are
- 38:22great, like first drafts of a script, like you, okay, you
- 38:24have your idea, let's go hammer this out a little bit better. We
- 38:29can really make this sing if we figure out the fine tune details right,
- 38:34and they're almost there. Yeah, yeah, Well when friends of mine aren't,
- 38:38aren't Trekky's say, what's up in this star Trek thing? Going on,
- 38:43what should I start watching? I want to watch the new stuff,
- 38:45and I'm like, strangeer world Yeah, Strange New Worlds. You you might
- 38:52get something out of lower Decks. So the Lower Decks really is a love
- 38:55letter to the fans, right, you know, Hard has a huge backstory,
- 39:04but Strange New Worlds, I mean, yeah, there's there's you know,
- 39:07references to the past and to the future. I guess. I recently
- 39:10told a friend because he was asking me that, like, what what do
- 39:15I start at? And but I knew that he was really into TNG,
- 39:19so I told him watch Precurred season three, Like, don't don't worry about
- 39:22season one and two, don't forget it, just start with season three.
- 39:25Ye start there, and then if you like that, then then we'll talk.
- 39:30Yep. Yeah, yeah, great advice. Well, I've got a
- 39:35couple of palette cleansers. If I was gonna mention some of the some of
- 39:39the trivia that I found on IMDb and one of the one of the knits
- 39:45that I saw, which I actually was thinking about, in fact, I
- 39:50shouted out during the episode. But we'll start with the trivia, of which
- 39:53I can only see one that matters. This was the nine hundred episode of
- 40:00Star Trek. Oh wow. Yeah, so we've got a hundred more episodes
- 40:07of Star Trek before we reached the one thousand mark. Wow wow. So
- 40:13essentially Academy could be that thousand episodes maybe, I mean, yeah, because
- 40:20we've got strange new worlds we've got because you know, they don't do twenty
- 40:22five episode seasons anymore. So you know, we've got ten seasons really maybe
- 40:29nine seasons of you know, More Trek before we hit that thousand episodes.
- 40:35But the knit the goof remember when they were doing they had to launch a
- 40:45photon torpedo and they're like, hey, if we take the payload out of
- 40:49a photon torpedo and replace it with antimatter, then it'll go boom. That
- 40:54is what a that That is what a photon torpedo payload is. Yes,
- 41:00yes, exactly. That'd be like saying, oh, let's take off the
- 41:02bomb, take the C four out of it and put explosives in instead.
- 41:07Yeah you know, yeah, yeah, let's see. He says, it's
- 41:14yeah, good. I think it's the regular payload. It still doesn't make
- 41:22sense, but I'm pretty sure the regular payload is anti matter and an equal
- 41:27supply of matter so that when they collide, they annihilate each other and release
- 41:32this energy. So is he talking about take that out and only put put
- 41:38only anti matter in there? Is it meant to react and want something boom?
- 41:44Yeah, captain, give captain boom. But why does that stand?
- 41:50I mean, whatever makes the biggest boom, which I would imagine if you're
- 41:52going to make a bomb of any kind, a torpedo of any kind.
- 41:55Now that, granted they can set the up I don't know if they can
- 42:00do this in the well, yeah, they're in the thirty first century.
- 42:02I'm pretty sure they can set the yield on them. So wouldn't you want
- 42:07its highest yield to be the biggest boom you could make? And wouldn't you
- 42:10already engineer that? That? Show Bible, Show Bible. This is what
- 42:15our torpedoes are made out of. So we have programmable matter? Do we
- 42:19have programmable anti matter? Is there is there a switch you could flip to
- 42:27reprogram the matter to make it anti matter, reverse the polarity of the matter,
- 42:30reverse the polarity of the odeon conduit, and nuah, you know that,
- 42:36and throw in some gel packs and yeah, you're good. That's right,
- 42:39the Heisenberg compensators and make sure it doesn't prematurely explode nano probes in there
- 42:45if it's voyager, just to you know, yeah, that's just stay consistent,
- 42:51reprogrammed nano probes of course progress Yeah, always reprogrammed always. Uh uh.
- 43:00I don't know, guys, I don't know. Is that your only
- 43:04knit? Are you got another that was the only knit that made any sense?
- 43:07So yeah, yeah, yeah, So I was gonna bring up Casey
- 43:13is saying that when TG came along all the tos people hated it. Expectations
- 43:19caused the disappointment. That's a fair point, But I think too some of
- 43:24the things we're pointing out it's not that the show in itself, like creation,
- 43:30is the disappointment, which you know, people want change and all that
- 43:35don't want change. Our problems with this is some of the structural things in
- 43:38the story that could be fixed and then it would be great. There.
- 43:43You know, it's all these little like plot holes that we keep pointing out.
- 43:46I think the problem is they haven't fixed any of these things. So
- 43:51TG came out, and you know that first season is pretty rough, right,
- 43:55and the second season has a couple of good episodes in there, but
- 44:00they were still fine in their way. Honestly, when I had my wife
- 44:07watch TNG with me, I started at season three. I said, there's
- 44:13really nothing in the first two seasons that you have to see. And then
- 44:16right before we watched all good things, we watched Encounter at farpoint so she
- 44:22could understand what was happening. And I tell people the same thing with with
- 44:28Deep Space nine. If you don't want to watch the early episodes, you
- 44:30don't have to. There's some good stuff in there, but it was a
- 44:34little rough in the beginning. Also watch, yes, watch watch Emissary so
- 44:40you understand who's who in the zoo, and then skip to when Wharf comes
- 44:45along. You'll be fine. And if you fall in love with those characters,
- 44:49you can go back and watch those early ones. You know, Voyager,
- 44:54you got to watch the you got to watch the pilot episode to understand
- 45:00what's going on. I don't know if there's really a definitive skip to point
- 45:09a lot, Well, a lot of stuff happened, a lot of stuff
- 45:14happened before then. Tu Vic's was pre seven one and that's and that's yeah,
- 45:20you can't write him off like Jane Waite did, I guess. So
- 45:28the point, the point I'm making is there there's a long history of Star
- 45:32Trek getting off to bumpy starts, finding their way and maturing into a better
- 45:40show. You know. But we just talked about the card. Season one
- 45:45and two, Season three fantastic. So the difference is this show has just
- 45:55you know, it's five years. They haven't fixed anything. Yeah, well,
- 46:00they've made the show they want to and it's different than than any other
- 46:05Star Trek we've had. It's more focused on the relationship between the characters,
- 46:09which has been the edict from day one, and that's how they want it.
- 46:15It's you know, it's not they even said in the show, like,
- 46:19you know, this isn't the way most ships operate. It's not a
- 46:23professional running of the ship. Even Burnham conceded that, you know, probably
- 46:29sometimes it's not the best, but it's how they do things, and that's
- 46:32how they do it. So like it kind of makes me think of,
- 46:37like we used to joke on this show that one of the things about Star
- 46:40Trek is it's the nerdiest show because it's a bunch of people following the rules,
- 46:45and then we get a show where all these people do not follow the
- 46:49rules, and so we're all sitting here like, why aren't they following the
- 46:52rules? Well, you know what people have often said, why do conservatives
- 46:58like Star Trek. They can't understand why conservatives like Star Trek. And that's
- 47:04a big part of it, because it's a bunch of people following the rules.
- 47:07I think that's that's the draw. That's the draw for those people on
- 47:13the right. And when you take that away, I don't know, Yeah,
- 47:20it kind of loses, it loses some of that draw for some of
- 47:22those people. Starkly kind of looks like a military organization. But when it
- 47:29when it no longer acts like one like this show, you lose that draw.
- 47:36Yeah. I kept thinking back to that scene where it's like who's in
- 47:37charge? All you guys figure it out? Yeah? No, no,
- 47:42not in any organization I've ever been involved with. Right, And just just
- 47:47so you know, my battery is dying on this thing, so I might
- 47:51cut out in a minute and switch to my phone. Okay, So I
- 47:54will be back if that happens soon. Well, anything else we want to
- 48:00say about this episode? Uh? Dan? Has we all have to say
- 48:05one good thing? We're back to that, all right? Well, you
- 48:09guys go first, because I'm in a minute, I do, okay,
- 48:22I do like that. They they very clearly looked at the resources they have.
- 48:28They looked at the the Stranger World set and they said, hey,
- 48:30we can use that for something that's cool. That's cool that they thought outside
- 48:36the box that way. Yeah, I like the tractor beam rescue. See.
- 48:40I thought that was neat. I thought that they pulled that off.
- 48:44Pretty cool. The visuals, as always, the visuals on the show are
- 48:46amazing. You know, they've really come a long way, obviously, even
- 48:52in the last fifteen years. Yeah, and I'm I'm silly for Tilly.
- 48:58I love Tilly. Tilly's great. Any chance she's on screen, we didn't
- 49:01get any uh the engineer. We didn't get any Tignaitaro this episode. Yeah,
- 49:09I think Tichnitar only flies in, does a few of her scenes and
- 49:13flies out. I don't think she's there the entire time. So I hope,
- 49:17I hope we have more of her. But yeah, Tilly is I
- 49:21think. I think there's this cool relationship budding between Tilly and the doctor,
- 49:28you know, this this cool friendship, and I hope that plays out a
- 49:31little bit more as the season series ends. I mean, if she's going
- 49:36to be in an academy, it gives me hope that maybe the Doctor will
- 49:39show up there too. Sometimes. Yeah, yeah, I like the idea
- 49:46of them preserving the Iss Enterprise as a piece of history. Yea, even
- 49:55if it is a piece of alternate history because it's from the your universe.
- 50:00And I also like the idea of detmer A, Wotchaku and a skeleton crew
- 50:07limping this thing back to Federation headquarters. And I just imagine what an experience
- 50:16that has to be from those people, for those people, yeah, oh
- 50:22we lost them, bye Dan. But so yeah, to expand on what
- 50:28he was saying, well, it experience for the people that were flying the
- 50:31ship back. They're flying this not only is it a piece of history from
- 50:36the thirty first century, it's they're in the thirty first century and the ship
- 50:38is a piece of alternate history from way back, but it's also a contemporary
- 50:45piece for the people on that ship. You know, this is from their
- 50:49time. You know, this is the time travelers time period stuff. You
- 50:53know. So they yeah, what if that's the teaser for the section one
- 50:58thirty one show the movie that so they're going to use the ISS Enterprise as
- 51:05like, like there's something on there that that Okay, no, he's all
- 51:12right. Maybe I mean there's oh no, we lost them again? I
- 51:20here, okay, but yeah, I mean it could be a teaser,
- 51:23right, somehow Giorgio shows up on that ship, needs to grab something or
- 51:30needs some information whatever. Like it may not be the full plot point,
- 51:34but it could be a plot point in the movie. I have a couple
- 51:37questions about the ISS Enterprise number one. Has it hasn't been shown yet?
- 51:40Has it hold on? What? Dan? No? Real quick? If
- 51:44I could just finish my thought, yeah, yeah, go for it.
- 51:46Cut off. It's a cool idea that this skeleton crew, who lived most
- 51:54of their lives in the twenty third century, just gets to step back into
- 52:00the twenty third century, even for a couple of days, just to cruise
- 52:02this ship home. It's got to be a comforting feeling for them, right,
- 52:07Yeah, that's all. Okay. I basically said that word for word
- 52:12for you while you were sorry flip flipping your phone into your crotch. It's
- 52:19not that kind of stream, Dan, Yeah, only Dand okay, So
- 52:28I have two questions about the IS Enterprise number one. We have not seen
- 52:31her yet? Have we since in any of this new Trek? We didn't
- 52:39see her in Discovery season three? Did we two? Or I feel like
- 52:45when they went to the Mirror Universe they mentioned it. Okay, so we
- 52:50haven't seen the IS Centerprise since Mirror Mirror? Yeah, okay. And I
- 52:58just got done speaking of the original series. I just got we just my
- 53:00wife and I just got done watching Trouble with Tribbles. Yeah did you see
- 53:06before we Yeah? Well I kept saying, hey, do you see jad
- 53:09Z right? Oh, she's right behind the panel right there. Before we
- 53:13continue with the series, We're going to watch trials and tribulations and then continue
- 53:16on. So I have to The other question I have was how long has
- 53:22the ISS Enterprise been stuck there? Oh? Man, that's a good question.
- 53:30From whose time frame? Yeah? Well from its own time frame,
- 53:34Like how long has it been sitting there? Because like the lights work and
- 53:39there's still air on the ship and all the stuff works, So it hasn't
- 53:45been there for hundreds of years? Yeah, I feel or has it?
- 53:51They weren't real clear. I think it has been. Well, but I
- 53:57want that power supply because man, well, well it would have a warp
- 54:01Corps. Right work Corps is basically limitless. When the Defiant showed up on
- 54:09Enterprise, the USS Defiant, when it traveled to the mirror universe, it
- 54:17traveled through space and time, so we don't know, okay, how this
- 54:23ship got there. Yeah, traveled from one Well no, no, because
- 54:30where's the crew. Then they said, you can't cross over anymore because the
- 54:34universes are too divergent. So it must have hundreds of years ago, and
- 54:37it's been sitting there for hundreds of years. That's that's one hell of a
- 54:44power source. Well, and technically it didn't cross over to our universe,
- 54:49crossed over into some sort of pocket universe and then from there we were able
- 54:52to pull it out. All right, then I don't know. Maybe you
- 54:55got there yesterday. Yeah, okay, all right, fair enough whatever.
- 55:00Yeah, the answer is whatever you wanted to be, Scott, Okay,
- 55:05whatever you wanted to be. Apparently it was protected. The power supply was
- 55:08protected by plat armor. May the power protect you? Yes? It was
- 55:17also with you? That's yeah, that's true. It was low power mode.
- 55:22It means dimmed. That's fine. Okay. That's the one thing they
- 55:27don't tell you is that evil ships with the dark lighting saves on power.
- 55:30Power, you know, here's the benefit. Here's the thing though, I
- 55:35mean, the ship uses power when there's people on it. The doors don't
- 55:39open when there's no people on it, the turbo lifts don't move when there's
- 55:44no people, the replicators don't replicate when there's no people on it. So
- 55:49if the ship is just sitting there doing nothing and the shields aren't up,
- 55:57I mean, who's yeah, yeah, maybe, okay, okay, all
- 56:05right, all right, well anything else we want to say or should we
- 56:12get to feedback? I think we should get to feedback. Okay, let's
- 56:15get the feedback. Okay, listener feedback. All right, Oh, Chad's
- 56:27urge. Scott's drinking his his brew there, yep, and I'm asking people
- 56:32to x up in the chat. Well they're doing that, Scott. You
- 56:37said you had some emails. Yeah, yeah, So the first email I
- 56:43have is from Duvall. It's quite lengthy, so I'm gonna kind of summarize
- 56:46a little bit. Greetings cast. At first watch, the episode was interesting
- 56:51except for the space Romeo and Juliet or whatever is going on there, he
- 56:58said. He said. A second watch got him thinking about did they ever
- 57:00explain what clue they got the space bonding Clyde got into the wormhole that did
- 57:07they ever explain that clue at all? I don't think they did. And
- 57:13he was surprised that they didn't do a six hours earlier thing, which he
- 57:15knows that I hate. And he was confused about as we all were.
- 57:21I think how the clue ended up on the Mere Universe ship? How did
- 57:23it get there? And when Booker and Burnham scanned the ship the clue is
- 57:30also a life sign. Did you guys catch that? It's it was a
- 57:32third if you I had to watch the scene again. At first they said
- 57:38there was two life signs and then there was a third life sign, but
- 57:40that was that turned out to be the clue. Oh interesting, So yeah,
- 57:46I don't know. He also said that the picture inside the little Lockett
- 57:52thing that she had looked like the little kid con from Stranger worlds. Oh
- 57:58yeah, And then he mentioned what Kai kind of mentioned, what point in
- 58:02time did the Ice of Centerprise go through this wormhole? Was it a thousand
- 58:07years ago? Was it three hundred years ago? So you know, last
- 58:12Tuesday, last Tuesday, and he's trying to figure out it brings up concerns
- 58:17about before the ship was like it's still intact, and then he says,
- 58:22and I've gone cross eyed. So he's having a hard time dealing with some
- 58:25of this stuff too, he says. He goes on to say Dan was
- 58:30right. This episode wasn't about a wormholes, just a big old plot hole.
- 58:34Those writers did not do a good job making any sense of these things.
- 58:37Uh, this whole thing is making my brain hurt. Maybe I'll go
- 58:38watch X Men ninety seven and de compress my brain, he says. Any
- 58:43who can't wait to hear you guys thoughts on this one, I bet it's
- 58:45gonna be a doozy of all that. NYC freelance correspondent guy for Trek Cast
- 58:52All Andrew says, there were quantum signatures. That's why there's three signatures.
- 58:55Oh okay, okay, Yeah, here's the thing. As soon as you
- 59:02said that it was Deval who messaged us about all I could think about is
- 59:09this chopped cheese right, and that you know, met him and dad,
- 59:15You're gonna get one of these things we should X month and everything everything else,
- 59:22everything else you read was just like right, like Charlie Brown's parents,
- 59:30are they really that good. I don't know. I never had one.
- 59:34Okay, great, you will live there. I don't be there. I
- 59:38live here. Yeah, I mean I worked down there, but I didn't
- 59:43Yeah, I mean I didn't sample every type of cuisine. Cuisine in the
- 59:46City of New York. Did you get a sidewalk hot dog and just out
- 59:52later dirty water dogs? That's yes. Okay, you're like our representative of
- 59:59the city, county, and state of New York, so that's right.
- 1:00:00It's right. We call it from the City of New York. Okay,
- 1:00:07I do I do have one more email. This is from Zeno Griff.
- 1:00:15He says hello to all trek casts. Been listening to your podcast for a
- 1:00:19bit, started with the first podcast since you guys took over. It helps
- 1:00:22you get through work after some hard times in two thousand and three and some
- 1:00:25in two thousand and four. I love the show. You guys are funny
- 1:00:29as hell. I also want to give a shout out to my fellow michigan
- 1:00:32or Scott. Never been to a trek Con and I only have only been
- 1:00:37to one comic con. Looking forward to more Stranger Worlds and Section thirty one.

- 1:01:13And we've got also Chasms on the line, so let me bring him
- 1:01:15in, right, is repping the shirt? Yep, I'm repping in England
- 1:01:22and England what are you doing over there vacation? Nice? Nice? Yes,
- 1:01:29that's all still watching the show on vacation. Man. That was the
- 1:01:32hardest thing to find the show in the UK, to get it to work
- 1:01:37because Pareamount for some reason. When I first came over, it wasn't working
- 1:01:43correctly. So I mean in the United States, it never works correctly for
- 1:01:47me, so no, and then finally got it to work and then watched
- 1:01:52the episode and fell asleep through it. Over there, it is five o'clock,
- 1:02:02okay, in the afternoon, so okay, so we're what I guess
- 1:02:08your East Coast would be five hours ahead of you, So yeah, we're
- 1:02:13eight hours for me, yeah, or eight for you or for me it
- 1:02:16would be six hours. So okay, right awesome. So are you in
- 1:02:22your what part you're in England? What part of England in? Uh?
- 1:02:27What part of London are we in? Oh you're in London. Okay,
- 1:02:30yeah, we're in London. So okay, we're in London. We're doing
- 1:02:35the whole rigamurrow around here, doing all the thing where everybody was beheaded and
- 1:02:43yeah, you're gonna mess. Oh yeah. Your fast food they love is
- 1:02:46Greggs. Go there, Yeah, Gregs, it's their h Yeah, it's
- 1:02:53their fast food. They've got something called a sausage rule that's supposed to be
- 1:02:58amazing. Okay, I'll look for it tomorrow. Also, Chazz Biz,
- 1:03:02if you go up to one of those Kings guards that are wearing the red
- 1:03:06and the black guys, if you tug on their uniform, they'll give you
- 1:03:09candy. Candy. Make sure you touch the horse, that's right, Yes,
- 1:03:16yes, emotionally touch it, not not physically connect with the horse.
- 1:03:23Whoa mind meld with it, that's right. Yeah, that's all the hands,
- 1:03:35that's all the hand Oh man, it was it looks like it tried
- 1:03:43to block me, that's right, Like you're not bind meld with me doing
- 1:03:47it? Well, we did the King's Guard today and oh my god,
- 1:03:54that takes forever because you're like, okay, you're changing the guard and they
- 1:03:59bring in the band and then these guys like march back and forth to the
- 1:04:02gate, probably like thirty times, and you think it's so much over and
- 1:04:06it's like, okay, he's march back to his gate, turns around,
- 1:04:10march is again and you're like, okay, what's what's going on here?
- 1:04:15And it starts raining and it's cold and everybody's pushing you, and it's like,
- 1:04:20can I turn the London huh? Yes, that's I know. Yeah,
- 1:04:28yeah, but it's it's it's worth it. If you've never been,
- 1:04:33definitely go cool and and Daniel, I took the Paddington bus for you.
- 1:04:40Fantastic. Yes, Paddington's statue's all over London. Yes, I had that
- 1:04:45key and scones on the Tightington boast. I got right in the front row
- 1:04:49and they put me in the smallest damn seat you've ever seen in your life.
- 1:04:54So you got a fat guy riding in the front of the bus and
- 1:04:59request American size, Can I have an American size seat. Yeah, there's
- 1:05:09probably pictures out there with the guy on the track Cast shirt that bubble picking
- 1:05:15bus. That's rough. But I'm representing treck Cast, so thank you.
- 1:05:21If does never go out online, you'll look at those poor pastor and you
- 1:05:26just don't get arrested while you wear in that shirt. Yes, yes,
- 1:05:30no, no lude or anything. You don't need that kind of representation.
- 1:05:36We don't need that kind of bad publicity. International incident, incident, that's
- 1:05:42right. So don't touch the horse with the track Cast shirt off, so
- 1:05:45right, right, right, right? So do I mean we can use
- 1:05:49bad publicity is good publicity? Yeah? Well next next area is pairs,
- 1:05:57So I'll do it Tuesday. So I'll try to get a picture with the
- 1:06:01Eiffel Tower with the shirt on. That'd be great. Yeah, so I
- 1:06:08got Buckingham Palace, the Paddington Bus today with the shirt on. Awesome,
- 1:06:14do something newsworthy like you take your pants off and run around just helicopter,
- 1:06:21helicopter, round and round truck cat Yeah, that would be awesome. That'd
- 1:06:27be awesome. I mean some of us could cancel, but you know,
- 1:06:30yeah, we just got a question from Casey. Is Amazon going to help
- 1:06:35fund legacy. Uh. I mean that's a good question. Theoretically it could
- 1:06:42go with what's going on right now with the streaming? Yeah, what's going
- 1:06:46on with Paramount? Any news on that? I'm last week? It's fluid.
- 1:06:54Yeah, last we knew there's a million different potential buyers. Sony is
- 1:06:58the latest one. Sony and some uh private equity firm called Apollo, so
- 1:07:03who knows. Yeah, we're we're going to put our thirty seven dollars bid
- 1:07:08in from our coffee account. So right, we'll see maybe maybe thirty seven
- 1:07:12dollars plus seven dollars and three cough drops that I have. We got a
- 1:07:17dandelion money I'm buying. That's right. Well, you know we we didn't
- 1:07:28mention it yet, but we're going to have a new uh co coffee account
- 1:07:32goal because I showed this to Dan and he wants it. So we need
- 1:07:38about ten grand to be a terminator a flamethrower dog. So yeah, Dan
- 1:07:45needs this, yep, So I love it. It'll have my rusty dogs.
- 1:07:56Oh wow, yeah, hey, maybe you can cook some hot dogs
- 1:07:59in New York those So there you go. So what was your thought of
- 1:08:10the brain this week? Did you like the reveil or do you wish the
- 1:08:13helmet stayed on? Yeah, I wish the helmet. I think we're all
- 1:08:15in agreement on that. Yeah, they should have kept the mystery alive.
- 1:08:20Well, the mystery should have been alive. And then how they hid their
- 1:08:23voice like you can understand what they're saying, and then all of a sudden
- 1:08:27like oh they can, you know, easily understand us to speak our language,
- 1:08:33just like a little twitch could. The whole time we had to listen
- 1:08:40to garbled mess. I thought they were going to have a bunch of subset
- 1:08:45species. I thought they were going to be kind of like the Zindi,
- 1:08:47and they were that some of them were lizards and some of them were furry
- 1:08:51and some you know, I didn't think they were just going to be like
- 1:08:57generic green aliens from the Orneville, like the dolegs or something. If they
- 1:09:03were going to ask the Breen on this show, in this storyline, they
- 1:09:10completely missed the opportunity to make them the descendants of the progenitors. Yeah,
- 1:09:16yeah, yeah, okay, you should be the writer now, Yeah,
- 1:09:24hey, fly us out to what Vancouver? Yeah? Yeah, no kidding,
- 1:09:32no, getting up there and be like, hey, I got an
- 1:09:35idea for the cost of three business class plane tickets and the intermediate intermediate accommodation.
- 1:09:45That definitely coach paramounts broke. Yeah, we could turn the ship around
- 1:09:49for kicking the greyhound out there or whatever. Yeah, would the Canadian greyhound
- 1:09:55be called yeah, the gre the goose. They probably just nicknamed it the
- 1:10:03goose. Oh, probably probably the Great Goose. Nice well, Jazz,
- 1:10:14there is anything else you want to bring up? Uh, that's about it.
- 1:10:17You know, like this episode it was Bonnie and collide pretty much.
- 1:10:23You kind of go background to their story and I guess it was the locks
- 1:10:30hurt right now, something like did he get shot or what happened to him
- 1:10:33in the episode? He got stabbed? He got stabbed, so but you
- 1:10:41know Michael wanted to by a plot knife and of course you know he'll have
- 1:10:46that wound off through the end of the season and I'll probably die at end,
- 1:10:51Mall, will you know, either get revenge or had to do something
- 1:10:56crazy so they'll have one more pressthetic laden kiss. Yes, yes, it
- 1:11:02will taste like plastic Scott's favorite my favorite. Yes, prosthetic laden kind have
- 1:11:13yet ever asked me in the actors what it's like to kiss like that with
- 1:11:15the prosthetics on. No, but I might at the convention. Every time
- 1:11:19I saw and Cura kiss, I'm like, yeah, like Planet of the
- 1:11:29Apes. Yeah, it's like like kissing a cpr W. Yeah right exactly,
- 1:11:36because that's what he kind of looks like. Well, you even have
- 1:11:40to clear before you do it. That's what I should have asked the not
- 1:11:43visitor what I saw? What was it like kissing Odo? I think what
- 1:11:47the ferangie teeth would be like if she had to make out with the fergie.
- 1:11:53Yeah, those nasty teeth in there. So oh yeah, maybe that's
- 1:11:57what I should ask arm and Shimmerman when I see him in November. You
- 1:12:00know, what was it like you and then grill Cup making out? Oh
- 1:12:02we'll see him in in May at the convention, so you guys, no,
- 1:12:06Armon will be there, Okay, Yeah that's awesome. Yeah, I'll
- 1:12:10see him in November for the Grand Rapids Comic con. Well, you know
- 1:12:13what we'll do is we'll we'll handle something to give to you. You do
- 1:12:15Mac and me or something? Yeah, which reminds me of Mac and Me.
- 1:12:24So what's that Mac and cheese? What? No, Mac and be
- 1:12:28got attention to it was like one of the worst alien movies out there,
- 1:12:34one of the best. They even had. They even had a dance off
- 1:12:38in McDonald's. Don't forget so, oh my god, it was Mac and
- 1:12:44Me. It was like sponsored by Coca Cola and McDonald's pretty much. Okay,
- 1:12:47I remember the advertising for this movie. I never actually thought yes,
- 1:12:51and basically they drank Coca Cola the whole movie, and then they went to
- 1:12:56McDonald's for a dance off, and it's themester did this thing you've ever seen?
- 1:13:02Yes, every track ast episode has to have a musical element there.
- 1:13:12Yeah, there's Mac and Me. Yes, yeah, there is. And
- 1:13:16if you have that et rip off, that was the the Yeah. Who
- 1:13:26I'm gonna tie it back to Star Trek. Kind of looks like our Breen
- 1:13:30thread, that's gonna say, kind of looks like Moogie. Yeah, I
- 1:13:36see more Mookie. Yeah, alright, alright, well thanks jazz Viz.
- 1:13:45All right, all right, oh boy, well we only got five more
- 1:13:55episodes and then Dan and I will get to see the last episode together.
- 1:14:01Yes, yeah, so we can have a good cry when it's over.
- 1:14:04I hope we can do ah, hope we can do a podcast that weekend.
- 1:14:08I think we will. The the thing I was thinking about is probably
- 1:14:12realistically, we'd have to do it on Saturday, because Sunday is when we
- 1:14:17have to get out of the hotel and it's gonna be hard to record and
- 1:14:20then get out of there. So okay, but that's with each other.
- 1:14:26Schedule looks like, yeah, that's that's that's like over a month away,
- 1:14:28so we're fine. But yeah, all right, Well, thanks everybody for
- 1:14:33listening, and I guess we'll catch you next week. Sounds good bye everybody.
