- 4:45Rayquel Thulston. Okay, you guys, come on out, Giry, Hello,
- 4:50thank you for having me. How are you tonight? I am awesome.
- 4:56Well, you know, I'm good. But then I got these she's
- 5:00going on because I'm living down here in Florida. Girl, Oh my god,
- 5:03man, it's bad hand Charleston, and I think we're going on maybe
- 5:09a week or two weeks with no rain and now you can kind it's it's
- 5:15like snowing, and so it's bad. It's bad. So that's why you
- 5:19see me doing like this because I'm like, I hope you ain't nothing.
- 5:23You know, I face something weird. I said it because I may call
- 5:28throughout. So I just wanted to Hey, it's all good. So tell
- 5:36us a little bit about yourself before we dive into this book here. Okay,
- 5:42Well I am, so let me just start off because I put doctor
- 5:46in front of my name, so everybody's like you a doctor because by my
- 5:50pharmacist. But you know, so a lot of the pharmacists go and their
- 5:54doctors. I didn't do that. I just got to be yes. But
- 5:56I went to law school. Now lawyers is a Jewish doctorate degree, but
- 6:00most lawyers don't call themselves doctor. It wasn't until I went and talked at
- 6:05a university where it was like I couldn't even get hired unless I had a
- 6:10doctor a degree, and so they had everybody had come me doctor, and
- 6:13I was like, oh, I like color and have people call me doctor.
- 6:18So I'm doctor Ray Keltosan. I am originally from Saint Louis, Missouri.
- 6:24I'm down here in Orlando, Florida, working for a little while before
- 6:28I go back to La where where I love. I love La because of
- 6:32the weather, it's very mild. I'm like goldie locks. It's too hot,
- 6:36too cold. I need to that just right, you call goldie locks.
- 6:41I've got my goldie locks. Right. I'm a mother to a twenty
- 6:46nine year old who just got married, so I got a whole kind of
- 6:49going. All right, yeah, but I mean that's just me. I'm
- 6:54the only child for my mom and but you know, and baby girl from
- 7:00my dad. Oh okay, okay, So I'm gonna action now. So
- 7:05you from your in Orlando now, but you're going to La. So I'm
- 7:11gonna action. Earthquake over hurricane? Which one? You're choosing? Earthquake all
- 7:15day? Why they're so they're so sudden. At least for a hurricane you
- 7:21can get a ped So, so this is how I look at it.
- 7:27I've been out in La. I lived out in LA for eighteen years before
- 7:30I moved back to Florida for you know, temporarily, and we never we
- 7:34didn't have a big one. We have small ones. Like the small ones
- 7:38are good because that eases take attention out right now, you know, they
- 7:44just had one in New York. Their faults everywhere, yes, and see
- 7:47everybody else. They haven't been you know, so the big, the big
- 7:50earthquake that people talk about, it's not gonna happen in California because I believe
- 7:55it's gonna happen somewhere in Middle America because they don't have enough earthquake, you
- 8:01know what. We had one here I think it was a three point one
- 8:05here in Charlton, and it's just sounded like a lightning boat that happened outside
- 8:11the window. So you know, we're from Chauceton. We don't know what's
- 8:13going on. We're going outside out doing everybody accent, and there is a
- 8:18big fault line, like if there's a big fault line here in Charlston.
- 8:22And more of the quakes have been happening like Irmo and up in that area.
- 8:28But sometimes between here and some of those we get some. So I
- 8:33totally understand where you're coming from. But you did you you have to take
- 8:37a little shape and it's morter, but you I don't know, wain no
- 8:43joke. I guess I bet I went through Hugo. So it's like this
- 8:52ain't nothing, you know, you know, you know, when time to
- 8:56get ready, they start giving you that look of you don't know what's about
- 9:00to happen. All right, time to pack your bag, let's go.
- 9:03But totally understand. So let's dive into this book. Okay, first we're
- 9:11go on top of this title here, Why are church folks poor? Elevate
- 9:16your thoughts that exercise your fee to live an abundant life? Could you break
- 9:26it down? Okay? So, first of all, I just want anybody
- 9:31out there that may be like clutching our pearls, like, uh, I
- 9:33am church folk, so I'm not like just in the church, but I'm
- 9:39not talking about something I don't know. I am church folk, right,
- 9:41And so this book and let me back up. Whenever God works, go
- 9:48works with me and I go through something, He's like, okay, write
- 9:52a book about it because somebody else is going through that, or somebody gonna
- 9:56go through it, and let's just have it out there so he can be
- 9:58ready to do it. Right. So I told you I went from Orlando
- 10:01to la My son said he wanted to act, and this was when he
- 10:05was eleven, so I was like that, let's do it. My dad
- 10:07lived out there. Now I had a two hundred and fifty thousand dollars house
- 10:13in Orlando. Well even back then in La you went for about nothing,
- 10:18for two hundredifty dollars. Not in a nice neighborhood. I don't even think
- 10:22in the hood you went for two hu fifty thousand dollars. Right, So
- 10:26I had just said, well, like, I guess I'm just not gonna
- 10:28ever buy a house. Right, So the thoughts my thought, I will
- 10:35never buy a house. But now watch this, I didn't have a job.
- 10:39Well, we were living in a nice apartment, nice neighborhoods, nice
- 10:41apartments. We went from a studio apartment to a one bedroom apartment to a
- 10:46two bedroom part all without me having a job. Now, how could I
- 10:52even open my mouth to say that God couldn't buy me a house, you
- 10:56know, get me a house when he was constantly showing me. So it
- 10:58was like I felt like me and my son we were like the Egyptian I
- 11:01mean the Israelites. We was just you know, it was like for the
- 11:05day, but we were actually living really could with me having no job.
- 11:11Money just always game. He always got a job, something happened, to
- 11:15get a book of commercial book, something something that happened. I would get
- 11:18work, you know, a little temporary work, and everything worked out right,
- 11:22you know, so it took me ten years before I, you know,
- 11:28got in my mind right, my elevated my thoughts to say, hey,
- 11:31you know what, we could buy a house. We need a house,
- 11:35right, And it's like all these things that I had to do,
- 11:39But one of the things I had to do, I had to, like
- 11:41when I say, elevate my thoughts. I grew up in church, and
- 11:46so I could quote scriptures. I might not be able to tell you exactly
- 11:48where it is, but I call scriptures. But I didn't live that because
- 11:54those scriptures wasn't helping me move, Like I wasn't exercise in my faith.
- 12:00It's like, okay, I'm gonna do this, But I finally did.
- 12:05So I went from no house and no money in the bank to own it
- 12:09two houses six months later. It was just and it wasn't just a decision.
- 12:15It was actually working out and doing some practical things. But the main
- 12:20thing was get my mind to actually believe that I could do well. And
- 12:24so I just want to share that with everybody else. Faith without works is
- 12:30dead. So you put your faith in the work. So choice, but
- 12:33the flourish, I mean he said it in the world. So yeah,
- 12:39I grew up in the church, too, So I can't quote a scripture,
- 12:43but I know what his word says. I might be like Madia and
- 12:46get even and Eve mixed up, but you know, we got it,
- 12:50we understand. So I mean, we're we have a lot of preachers who
- 13:07preach the word of abundance, but they won't show people how to get there.
- 13:16And it's it's and I'm speaking for myself, like I've seen people who
- 13:26say, you know what, I've seen people say, I just wait till
- 13:35God, God will give me what I'm supposed to get. And and our
- 13:39producer always says that you have to you have to show up. And if
- 13:43you don't show up, how you expect God to show up? So how
- 13:48does your book bring that to life? How did tell people? Look,
- 13:52if you want God to show up, you got to show up. What
- 13:56kind of points do you show that in your book? Well, first of
- 13:58all, and I put it at the end of the book, and then
- 14:01I realized, I was like, I probably should have started at the beginning.
- 14:03First of all, we got to know what we want we got.
- 14:05What does abundance even look like? What does success? You know? Like
- 14:09most people are like, oh, I'm you know, I'm good I'm good,
- 14:11but like, are you like abundance for me? Because I love to
- 14:16travel. If I can't travel, my I'm not living an abundant life,
- 14:20you know. And I'm ready to get to the point why I'm only traveling
- 14:24first class because it's so much nicer because I got these big it's girl,
- 14:28it's so much more nice to travel with some seeds and anyway. But we
- 14:35have to decide what is abundant lie and also for me it is freedom.
- 14:39Like right now, I'm down here working this job and they want me to
- 14:43come five days a week and I'm just like, really five days but eight
- 14:50hours really? Like, so we have to we have to decide what abundance
- 14:58look like. It can't be about, you know, keeping up with the
- 15:01Kardashians, but it also can't be just like, oh, you know,
- 15:05everything is good and people because you know, people live in a comfort zone
- 15:09and they don't really you know what I'm saying. And I'm like, no,
- 15:11no, no, no, no, no, what what what would
- 15:13make you happy? Because what I believe is God wants for us is our
- 15:18good is good? Right, God is good. He wants us to be
- 15:22good, have good and do good. Okay, But we get to decide
- 15:26what that good is and what that good looks like. All right, and
- 15:30then so once we decide that, now we have to believe that we are
- 15:35worthy. Oh because now that right there, Because if you grow up in
- 15:39church, girl, you know that makes you feel like you ain't nothing but
- 15:41a sinner save our grace. But you keep hearing and I'm a center.
- 15:45I'm a center. How you gonna feel worried that I have the good?
- 15:48That you won't come on, y'all. I'm not apprecier or anything like that.
- 15:56Oh, enters, No, you are. You were made in the
- 16:00image of God, and God is good. Where does sinner come from?
- 16:04Stop it? Because this is real stuff. Because how if you if you
- 16:14don't feel worthy to have your own business, you're not gonna ever go out
- 16:19there and step out on faith and have it. And you're not gonna,
- 16:22you know, read the scriptures and get you're not gonna do it. Now.
- 16:27God is good in our comfort zone. Look at the children of Israel
- 16:32and in your coming zone. You always have something to eat. You would
- 16:34have enough for the day, and they can be comfortable for people. But
- 16:40God wants more. That's what Jesus said. I came to that you might
- 16:42have life and have it more abundantly. So what we're gonna do, and
- 16:49part of it really is understanding who you are and putting something like I said,
- 16:53put some respect on your name. Okay, you know what, I'm
- 16:57gonna need you to stop scratching in front of my front door. I got
- 17:00my own broom. I don't need you to bring your broom and sweep my
- 17:03front door. I don't need you to do that because this is some of
- 17:08the things I have to tell myself. Yeah, like you are preaching to
- 17:15you want me to sing, I can't sing good, but I sing because
- 17:18you preaching to the choir right now. And that is true. And everybody's
- 17:26trouble the water. You know what I'm saying. People don't understand that there's
- 17:30gonna be a time where the water's gonna have to be trouble because you need
- 17:36to see what you're made up. And I feel like, right now that's
- 17:38what the period I am. My water is being trouble because I need to
- 17:41see what I'm mean for. And I know and you're talking to me and
- 17:45my producer and I know she's shaking her head. Yeah, I need to
- 17:48start showing up like I'll do it and then I'll fall back. But now
- 17:52it's like I even challenge myself that I'll do such and such and such during
- 17:57the time. And we need to know what we want. We gotta go
- 18:00for what we want. And that's a lot of church people are not even
- 18:04church people, just people in general don't even know what they want mm hmm.
- 18:08And there's nothing wrong. And then it is that even me, who
- 18:14I've done this and I but it's next, it's next levels. I want
- 18:18a four million dollar house at the beach. Oh my gosh, that's like
- 18:22that's a lot. God, Like, really, why are you putting that
- 18:26desire at me? And it's like, okay, well, being a pharmacist,
- 18:30hey gonna do It's so. And then, because like I said,
- 18:36I'm being transparent here. I'm down here in Florida with my allergies. I
- 18:40don't have allergies in La. My allergies don't bother me in LA. My
- 18:45allergies on working this job. They want me to come up and it's because
- 18:48I'm trying to get money, and it's like, come on, man,
- 18:51you gotta do better. So I'm just I'm not. It's me like when
- 18:53I talk about church bub it's me yes, So I am saying this title
- 19:00says church folks that just need to say everybody, Well, the reason why
- 19:06I did I said that, and that it's because they they came out with
- 19:10a book called The Secret. I heard about that, the law of attraction.
- 19:15It is a scripture. It ain't none for scripture. So non church
- 19:21folks already know the principles of God. They read the scripture the Secret,
- 19:26and they have been you know, keep elevating their thoughts. They they not
- 19:32calling it God, they're calling universe, but they are using principles of God
- 19:37like ask and it shall be given. I know you said you don't know
- 19:41the Bible, but you know that's in the Bible right right right, And
- 19:45that's what they're talking about. And so I said, if you don't like
- 19:48the term the law of attraction, just call it the ask and the ask
- 19:52and it shall be given promise, because that's what it is. And we
- 19:56have to get to the point where we believe that. So it's the reason
- 20:00why it's for church vote because the people outside of the church, girl,
- 20:04they already doing it. They become a millionaires, they do it, all
- 20:08of that stuff. Now it's our term. It's our term. You know
- 20:15what. You said that and they made me think of something like it kind
- 20:21of way. I feel like the church kind of runs away from abundance because
- 20:27the preachers who used to talk about the prosperty, like Creflo Dollar and those
- 20:30kinds of people, people are like, oh, oh, they're horrible.
- 20:33They're horrible. Now we'll say this though, we need more more millionaires in
- 20:38the church than the pastor. So if you and this is I'm not knocking
- 20:44anybody's pastor, but if the pastor is not teaching you how to do a
- 20:48business plan, not having workshops to teach you how to invest, teaching you
- 20:52to get you some life insurance, if they're not teaching you how to do
- 20:59marketing, if they're not teaching you know what I'm saying, if they not
- 21:07what, drop it, drop it, drop it, because I just really
- 21:12would love to see to learn those things right. So we would love to
- 21:18see this in churches that we do credit repair classes, we teach people how
- 21:25to budget. I would love to see that in church. I do know
- 21:30a church that I follow online that she does that, and she would go
- 21:37live and she would you know, broadcast it out to everybody. Her name
- 21:41is Jamelo Gooden, and I follow her and she does this. She does
- 21:45a home ownership classes. I really don't know much churches down here in Charleston
- 21:51and actually do that. And if they are, they must be just telling
- 21:52their members are not people outside of the church. But wow, you you
- 22:02dropping all kinds of and we ain't even get to any other questions. Were
- 22:04just still talking about this first question. I mean, but yeah, oh
- 22:15oh, okay, okay, So since we said we talked about going for
- 22:21what we want, okay, I'm gonna ask you what does the words literary
- 22:26literary success mean to you? Okay? So it's different for me because I'm
- 22:32a I write what God gives me, right, and and people are looking
- 22:41at me because if they read my book under Foul, they're like, I
- 22:42need that. Yeah. Yeah, So success is if the person that God
- 22:51had me write it for gets it and and and changes their life or does
- 22:56something whatever God needed them to get. Okay, then that that really is
- 23:00a success. But now I'm just asking God, you know, and I'm
- 23:07gonna put my stink on it too, so I can have some financial success.
- 23:11I don't have to be a USA bestseller. That would be nice.
- 23:15You know, I've been a you know, on Amazon bestseller list, but
- 23:19you know you stay on that for sometimes that quick and it it's done.
- 23:23That was nice. Money, like I said, would be nice. But
- 23:27the main thing is that the right people get the message. And that's why
- 23:32even though I wrote this book some years ago, Tom, okay, you
- 23:36gotta go back and do some more. People ready, they ready go back
- 23:40and do it some more. And then to us everything. He had to
- 23:42work on me because I was a little fearful to talk about church folk because
- 23:48when I first people were like, we we gotta have no money in this
- 23:52better than half, you know, just all kind of wrongness and just all
- 23:56loud and wrong right, just typing on my little stuff. And I just
- 24:02like, ooh, I don't like that. But I had to get some
- 24:04courage. That's like God's people need to hear it. I still I needed
- 24:08to keep I need to keep listening to it. And so I'm like,
- 24:12you know what, let's do it. So success is that the right people
- 24:17get the message. There you go, there you go. So man,
- 24:26okay, I hardly ever go through a show and not do a commercial.
- 24:30And I feel like I just started talking to you and it's already a twenty
- 24:33five. This is crazy, This is so. What advice would you give
- 24:40to someone publishing their first book. What would you say to that author who's
- 24:45like, you know what I'm through, I just can't do this, Or
- 24:48that author like, here's my baby, what do I do with in town?
- 24:52What would you say to that? Well, let's go back to can
- 24:56we talk to the people who got a book in their head and and haven't
- 25:00done it yet? Can we talk to those people? Because I feel God
- 25:03telling me that I need to talk to those people first, because there's so
- 25:07many people out there. If they got books inside, they're like, oh,
- 25:11but it's already been written. And let me just tell y'all. If
- 25:14y'all liked the Bible, just talk about the New Testament. It's four gospels,
- 25:18four different people talked about the same story and they did it differently,
- 25:22and thank God they did because I loved John's version better than all of them,
- 25:26so they did it right. So it doesn't matter that it's already been
- 25:30talked about. If God told you to talk about it, you need to
- 25:36talk about it because there's somebody that's gonna hear it better from you from your
- 25:40angle with your stories and things like that, because you're not gonna just you
- 25:45know, it's not gonna be the same story. It's gonna be your little
- 25:48stain. You're gonna put your thing on it. And there's some people out
- 25:51there that need your things. So if you got a book idea, I'm
- 25:56gonna need you to get it out your head and get it into the computer,
- 26:00period, because God didn't give it to you for you to keep it.
- 26:04And and I'm right now, I'm hoping that your characters, if it's
- 26:07a fiction book, that your characters will not let you rest until you get
- 26:11the book out. To get out and get the book out your head and
- 26:14on to the page. And I say that because my characters are like that.
- 26:17My characters will be like, but what about my story? You forgot
- 26:22about me? What when we come to my story? Yeah, so I
- 26:27wanted to say that first, so them people now do even talk to the
- 26:32people that like already wrote it, or we want to stay on the people
- 26:36who haven't readen it yet? What you want me to do? I'm still
- 26:38at the point where you sed toy and you know what, born and raised
- 26:42in church all my life. I just realized when you said that this month.
- 26:48Of the four Gospels, it's the same situation is written by for different
- 26:53people. I just realized that. I was like, Oh my God,
- 26:56cheese, how dumb can you be? Like that's so okay, okay,
- 27:03it's like, my Lord, when you like really think about stuff because we
- 27:06have excuses or why we don't do stuff. And I do love the Bible.
- 27:11Now, I tell people this would really give me in trouble. I
- 27:17would not die on anything that's in the Bible. I'm not gonna like put
- 27:21it up like I down at Hell because God didn't write it. People wrote
- 27:25it. They wrote about their experiences with God. They may have been exaggerating,
- 27:29I don't know, but they gave me some good information. They showed
- 27:33me some stuff, and I believe it God to send me to the things
- 27:36that I need to do, to help me with the with the promises,
- 27:41and you know, give you just the prescription of what to do and how
- 27:45to do it. But I will say this, people put so much on
- 27:51those Those were regular people that wrote those books. Who's to say that my
- 27:56book years later, people won't be like, oh my goodness, this is
- 28:00word, this is straight from God. And you know what I tell people
- 28:04that all the time, because when it comes to working at a library,
- 28:08there's always that one book that people are like, oh, it's already seen
- 28:14this time, it's already seen its time. Right now they're talking about a
- 28:18book that was very popular. I can't remember how long ago. But if
- 28:22you are those that read could fiction like me or streak contemporary, y'all remember
- 28:30the book Oh by the Soldier. It was just in my head the sis
- 28:36the Soldier wrote this book a long time ago. It's now about to become
- 28:41a movie, Like, are you serious? So I always tell my authors
- 28:47an old book is always a new book because your book has not touched the
- 28:52hands of everybody. Amen, so you know what you Yeah, is there
- 29:02anything you're working on right now that we should know about it? Well,
- 29:06just with my book water Church fel Poor I am putting. I'm going to
- 29:11do a workshop actually next Sunday. It's going to be a free workshop.
- 29:15But then it's ninety nine dollars to be VIP. And what VIP does,
- 29:19basically, it just gets you a private one on one to kind of discuss
- 29:23what we talked about or whatever else you want to discuss about the book that
- 29:27you need help on because I think that even if people read the book,
- 29:33if they don't do the exercises, because there's exercises in the book, they
- 29:37don't grow. You just read it because you know, what's the use of
- 29:41having an information and you don't use it, Like you know, it's like
- 29:45faith without works is dead. So it's like actually using it. Like there's
- 29:49one thing I put in the book. Let me just say, find life
- 29:52minded people. Yes, I'm not saying to stop to be you know,
- 30:00stop being friends with the people in your circle, but it may be time
- 30:03to befriend people who are thinking like you have already elevated their thoughts. Like
- 30:08I have a couple of millionaires in my circle now because I'm trying to get
- 30:12there. So I was like, let me put some millionaires. I love
- 30:17my people who are millionaires and I'm not gonna let them go, but I'm
- 30:21going to add some millionaires to my circle so I can figure out what they're
- 30:26doing, so I can learn how to do that, get my mind right.
- 30:30And you know, so finding like minded people is huge, Yes,
- 30:37is huge. And if people don't do that, and if we don't teach
- 30:42her children to do that, let me tell you. Let me just real
- 30:48quick. Just to make this really clear, my grand baby she runs track
- 30:55and she was fast. She was you know, she was doing the thing
- 30:57right. She was fast first place, second way. But then when she
- 31:03moved to a different level, she was like eighth place, but her times
- 31:10was faster. But you in, you in a group that you the top
- 31:18dog, but your numbers still low. You get in a group where you
- 31:22like number eight, but your numbers grow. So you in a circle and
- 31:26you got you making sixty thousand dollars and you like life is uh, you
- 31:30know, you're like um drum. But then you get into a different circle
- 31:34and you like the top dog no more. But they have elevated and now
- 31:38you making one hundred and fifty thousand, and you know, going on trips
- 31:45and seeing the world. Yeah, you see what I'm saying. So we
- 31:49let's stop getting caught up from being number one. Let's let's let's look at
- 31:55our time, let's look at our stacks. I'd rather have better stats then
- 32:00be a number one. Okay, makes sense? Dropping just dropping them,
- 32:06left them right, You're dropping them because that makes a lot of sense.
- 32:09Because once you get the number one, you feel like that's it. You
- 32:13can't but you have to challenge yourself to continue to go higher, right,
- 32:19don't becomplacent where you are, right. See, you know what, why
- 32:24need you to send me some information so I could share to everybody about this
- 32:30event you got coming up on Sunday. And you never know, you might
- 32:36hear somebody saying, you know, I saw you on that podcast and I
- 32:37ain't need to talk to you. Right, Well, it's just wire church
- 32:42folkfore dot com, okay yo. And they can get the book and they
- 32:46can sign up for the workshop and then if they just want it, if
- 32:52they don't, they want to skip the workshop and just want to work with
- 32:53me because they like how I'm sounding and they and they need that push that
- 32:58somebody pushed them like that. I'm available. Yeah. Right. So you
- 33:05say you like to travel, right, I love the travel, okay.
- 33:08And you said you got that that that grand another family member that lives in
- 33:14Columbia. I mean you might need to talk and see we having a little
- 33:20books you know, little bookstop that's gonna be happening in Colombia in October.
- 33:24I think you'd be great. Yeah, man, I think you'd be great
- 33:28to have on our panel. But me and you talk about that, I'm
- 33:31gonna let you get through Sunday and then I'm a bugger. I'm going to
- 33:37bug you. But you know what, it's been great. I mean,
- 33:44I just feel like we just got on here and talking and talking and you
- 33:50dropping all the nuggets. So how can we continue to follow you to get
- 33:55more nuggets? Because I know you got weird on. So can you tell
- 34:01us where we can get your book, where we can follow you, how
- 34:05we can get in contact with you? How about you said that information?
- 34:08Well, I'm on Facebook at it's Raquel, and I'm on Instagram Rayquel Tolson.
- 34:16I am on LinkedIn Raquel again. I have a website Rayel Toolson dot
- 34:24com and that's with my other business. But you can also find my book
- 34:29where our church folk for there. Because that's my money. That's why I'm
- 34:31talking about money because I'm a money girl. I'm a money I'm a money
- 34:36girl. So I'm like this money, that's the go. Let's all get
- 34:39this money. So that's dot com. You can look at some of my
- 34:45other books. It's called Rayel Romance dot com Raquel romance dot com to find
- 34:52some of my romance books. And then I told you I was telling you
- 34:54a little bit before we got on about my book under filed it. Actually,
- 34:59I have a short I would rather you read the book first because the
- 35:02short film is like the end of the book, so it kind of it'll
- 35:06give you the you know, like what's going to happen. So go read
- 35:08the book and then go back and watch the short film. And the goal
- 35:13on one day make that a film, the book, make it a feature
- 35:16film. So that's the goal. That's why I got to get this money
- 35:21so I can make my film, or I might let her know. Somebody
- 35:24let me know because I need to get this film made. I'm gonna tell
- 35:28you now, I have now become a lover of to B and I have
- 35:32read two books, Secret Society one and two, just because I saw the
- 35:39movie on to B. Yeah, I'm doing the movie was crazy, but
- 35:45I wanted to read the book and it was good. It was good.
- 35:50So hey, you know what, you guys, you heard her. She
- 35:52wants somebody to, you know, give her some information on how to get
- 35:55this book into a movie. And I saw that you'd have some children's books
- 36:01also, Yes, my son and I so when my son was little,
- 36:06I didn't like the bedtime Prayer. Lord. Now I let me down to
- 36:08sleep because I didn't want him thinking about his soul to keep and all that
- 36:13kind of stuff. So we came up with a bedtime prayer, and we
- 36:16he actually recorded a song, the bedtime prayer to the song for at least
- 36:22and then we decided to finally make it into a book. My mom passed
- 36:27away in two thousand and nine, so we have her, you know,
- 36:30she's central part of the book. And then we have a second book,
- 36:35Rin's Affirmation, because well we and it says Rin's Affirmation. God is good,
- 36:39and so am I. And it's what I teach. It's like,
- 36:43you know, whatever God is, you are too, because you you know,
- 36:47you look God. You know you look God. You know people are
- 36:52like, oh you ain't God, Junior. Yes, Sam, I don't
- 36:57have no hav of hell to put you in. But that don't mean And
- 37:00I'm like, I'm creative just like God. I freaking create with my words.
- 37:06What I say, I tell people be careful because I can create with
- 37:10my words. So yes, I remember somebody telling me that words are life
- 37:16and you give them spirits, and that stick with me. The whole entire
- 37:22thing that man was preaching. That was the one thing that speak to me
- 37:25and stick with me, and my mommy said, two type of girls.
- 37:28Stop speaking that stuff over here. I'm like your tongue, Yep, it's
- 37:35real. No, No, it's real. Yes, it is so much
- 37:37real. You know you're coming back, right, I would love to you're
- 37:44coming back. I would love to come back. So we definitely need to
- 37:47talk about my underfil We definitely need to talk about that. See, you
- 37:54know you touched my heart and you say you want to talk about that book.
- 37:57Y'all know what type of book is? I love you what? Okay,
- 38:00I'm gonna be goodna be good. I have to tell you though my
- 38:04book I can't call them Christian books, and I know we gotta leave,
- 38:08but I can't call them Christian books because there is a person drinking and it's
- 38:15sex and I was just like, but I'm a Christian and I do all
- 38:20of this, but I don't understand one of my books can't be Christian,
- 38:22but I call them inspirational fiction. So yeah, but I don't go my
- 38:29my sexies aren't graphic because it's still inspirational. Some of they aren't safe,
- 38:35but you know what you know and leads up in the library world we call
- 38:42it contemporary. Okay, I got a little bit of this and a little
- 38:45bit of that. Yeah, I know pastes that sitting up here looking at
- 38:49Pea Valley. So I ain't even gonna say nothing about it, okay down
- 38:52in the valley, Okay. So we ain't even gonna go there. Okay,
- 38:55Okay. If they looked at Fred Sampit and they saw his stand up
- 39:00comedy, yeah, we ain't even gonna go there. But I truly thank
- 39:06you for being here tonight. This was supposed to happen, yeah, because
- 39:10this was beautiful. But we're gonna get you to come back and we're gonna
- 39:15talk about that book. So I'm gonna read that and we're gonna come back
- 39:17and we're gonna have a little chit chat. So you guys, you know
- 39:21it's Monday night. Your girl gonna head out because my little baby got testing
