- 0:02Speaker 1: Radio Radio Radio Coms a Myth and Bullshit, a radiophonic novella.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Loc Radio hosted by Malamo. Hello, Hello, Hello, welcome back

- 0:29Speaker 1: is the f and we are last Radio, coming to
- 0:33Speaker 1: you once again from Radio Spacio, located here at EsPAS

- 0:41Speaker 1: at the Radio is a radiophonic novella arch having the
- 0:44Speaker 1: brilliance and legacies of women and fans of color. Thank
- 0:47Speaker 1: you for tuning into We just keep We just keep rolling.
- 0:53Speaker 1: You just keep making works like we are unstoppable. We've
- 0:57Speaker 1: been busy again as always, right, I'm and I'm so
- 1:00Speaker 1: happy that we're back from our break. Last time on
- 1:02Speaker 1: look at That our Radio, our radio, we interviewed Jay
- 1:06Speaker 1: Dot for to our talking ship and taking selfies. If
- 1:11Speaker 1: you haven't tuned into that one, make sure you do.
- 1:13Speaker 1: It's such a good dialogue about um taking selfies and
- 1:18Speaker 1: like claiming your body taking up space, especially like for
- 1:21Speaker 1: j as a black transform So we were super happy
- 1:23Speaker 1: to have them on the show. And I think that
- 1:25Speaker 1: this maybe was our first like alumni episode. Oh yes, right,
- 1:30Speaker 1: Like so Jay and I went to college together and
- 1:32Speaker 1: that's where we met and became friends. So it was
- 1:34Speaker 1: cute having a tough salone here on the pod. Yeah,
- 1:37Speaker 1: I agree, I agree on the pod on the pod.
- 1:40Speaker 1: In addition, we had some new stuff come out about
- 1:45Speaker 1: so we were super excited to see that we were
- 1:47Speaker 1: on this list. It was such a surprise. Um. So
- 1:50Speaker 1: on this Fierce by Me through article is titled these
- 1:53Speaker 1: Latina and Latino's hosts share our stories and highlight what
- 1:56Speaker 1: matters to our community through podcast and it's by Stephanie
- 1:59Speaker 1: Gina Genas Genus and yeah that sounds right. Yeah her,
- 2:05Speaker 1: I g handle is a Believe bruita and it's yeah,
- 2:10Speaker 1: so yeah, just thank you to her and thank you
- 2:12Speaker 1: to everyone that includes us in these list of goals
- 2:15Speaker 1: and like shares our content. I wanted to read um
- 2:18Speaker 1: what she wrote about us because I thought it was
- 2:19Speaker 1: super cute, super sweet. Um So she says, you can't
- 2:22Speaker 1: have a podcast list without featuring everyone's favorite mommy s
- 2:25Speaker 1: of myth and bullshit look at our radio. The podcasting
- 2:28Speaker 1: power Couple of Mala Jun pump A celebrating the power
- 2:35Speaker 1: and legacies of women of color. These posts love to
- 2:37Speaker 1: stay busy creating workshops, during keynotes at universities and fimcyeing
- 2:41Speaker 1: events all over Los Angeles with Las look at us.
- 2:44Speaker 1: Every hour is Brown Girl Hour. I love it. That's
- 2:48Speaker 1: such a cute like representation, like a good summary of
- 2:52Speaker 1: us and what we do. So thank you, girl, thank you.
- 2:55Speaker 1: We're so happy to be featured on this list with
- 2:58Speaker 1: so many of our other favorite podcast like Lots of
- 3:02Speaker 1: Good Latin X Yes, like Bad Ladies and Rayomanea Lose
- 3:06Speaker 1: Loses podcast Yeah, and so many others. Yeah, that's not
- 3:10Speaker 1: the only list that we were included on. This next
- 3:13Speaker 1: list was a huge surprise for us. Um we well
- 3:17Speaker 1: the aside. You happen to be on Instagram and saw
- 3:20Speaker 1: a post that Radomnea had made. Yes about Radiomenea had
- 3:24Speaker 1: been featured on this Forbes list Women of Forbes ten
- 3:29Speaker 1: refreshing and diverse women lead Podcasts for Creatives. Yeah, and
- 3:34Speaker 1: so Rayomana had posted it, and I was like, oh,
- 3:36Speaker 1: I hadn't seen this list. So I clicked it and
- 3:39Speaker 1: I was scrolling and I was so like excited and
- 3:41Speaker 1: thrilled to see all of this, like this very diverse
- 3:43Speaker 1: list of women podcasters like their Black women and API
- 3:47Speaker 1: women and Latino women and just women of color in general.
- 3:50Speaker 1: So it was so nice to see it. I'm scrolling
- 3:52Speaker 1: scrollinga and then boom, I see number eight Local Radio
- 3:58Speaker 1: and our photos also looted. Yeah, and it was just
- 4:02Speaker 1: very exciting. And it's so funny because Mom and I
- 4:04Speaker 1: always joke about like our crossover moments and we feel
- 4:07Speaker 1: like we've had. We are always like, okay, now is
- 4:09Speaker 1: this the crossover? Is this the crossover? What about now? Now?
- 4:13Speaker 1: It feels like the crossover because it's motherfucking four, it's Forbes,
- 4:16Speaker 1: it's Forbes, be this is our like Selena records her
- 4:22Speaker 1: English language album this is It. So the author of
- 4:26Speaker 1: the article, Jane Claire Hervey, thank you for including us.
- 4:30Speaker 1: We appreciate you. So it's it's a list of all
- 4:33Speaker 1: these really great women lead podcasts, and we are right
- 4:36Speaker 1: next to Two Dope Queens, hosted by Jessica Williams and
- 4:40Speaker 1: Phoebe Robinson. So Two Do Queens is number seven on
- 4:42Speaker 1: the list. Look At Thought is number eight on the list.
- 4:45Speaker 1: And here's what they said about Local tora Um on Forbes,
- 4:48Speaker 1: regularly featuring Latin X artists and creatives. Look at a
- 4:52Speaker 1: Radio describes itself as a radio phonic novela semin Unos.
- 4:55Speaker 1: The podcast hosts are self proclaimed mommies of myth and bullshit,
- 4:59Speaker 1: and they take on top epics ranging from tech to
- 5:01Speaker 1: pop culture to mental health. Yes we do, Yes, we do,
- 5:04Speaker 1: that is what we do. We're just like just thank
- 5:07Speaker 1: you for seeing us and including us and validating I
- 5:12Speaker 1: know we do. I know. I get so excited and
- 5:15Speaker 1: emotional and just like real that what we do resonates
- 5:20Speaker 1: with so many people. Because you've been listening to us
- 5:22Speaker 1: from the beginning. You know that this has been completely
- 5:25Speaker 1: d I Y. You know that we've been learning as
- 5:27Speaker 1: we go. We learn with you all. We learn like
- 5:29Speaker 1: what works and what doesn't, and like what resonates more
- 5:32Speaker 1: with y'all, and like how we can keep pushing it
- 5:34Speaker 1: and keep growing. So it's so nice to see like
- 5:37Speaker 1: our labor of love being recognized. You know, our seeds
- 5:41Speaker 1: are blooming, the seeds that we've planted are definitely blooming. Yes, um,
- 5:46Speaker 1: And I mean we're still and we're still d I
- 5:48Speaker 1: Y absolutely like we still. Like just just as a
- 5:51Speaker 1: reminder or like for our new listeners, because I know
- 5:54Speaker 1: that we have new listeners all the time, and new followers.
- 5:57Speaker 1: So we record this out of a community radio station.
- 6:03Speaker 1: They allow like community to come and record for free
- 6:06Speaker 1: and have radio shows here. So we're so grateful for that. Um,
- 6:10Speaker 1: we've never paid like to take a class, you know
- 6:13Speaker 1: in podcasting or in soundboard operating right right and like
- 6:17Speaker 1: very behind the scenes. But when we first got here,
- 6:20Speaker 1: like I'm like a kid, you'll not it would take
- 6:22Speaker 1: us like an hour to set up because we could
- 6:24Speaker 1: never we could not figure out the board. Now malas
- 6:27Speaker 1: our soundboard operator, and you know, we've like we figured
- 6:31Speaker 1: it out and we we've learned, and it took a
- 6:33Speaker 1: lot of trial and error. Like if you live you've
- 6:35Speaker 1: been listening since the beginning, you remember that with Creatico achievement,
- 6:40Speaker 1: we had to record it three times because there were
- 6:44Speaker 1: all these issues with the sound because we didn't know
- 6:46Speaker 1: what we were doing. But you know, anyway, so like
- 6:49Speaker 1: now here we are and like it's still very d
- 6:51Speaker 1: I y, but we have like a better understanding of
- 6:53Speaker 1: how to do things, how to work the board, how
- 6:55Speaker 1: to do sound editing and all of that, and you know,
- 6:58Speaker 1: again for our new followers and listeners, like anybody had
- 7:00Speaker 1: ever wondered, like why do we do keynotes, or why
- 7:03Speaker 1: do we do workshops or why do we have our venmo?
- 7:05Speaker 1: Why do we have merged? Well, because we fund everything
- 7:08Speaker 1: ourselves as well. We don't have any sponsors. We don't
- 7:11Speaker 1: have any like financial backers, we don't have any investors.
- 7:14Speaker 1: So when we do workshops or keynotes, if we're offered
- 7:17Speaker 1: an honorarium, all of that goes directly back into the
- 7:19Speaker 1: podcast and keeping things going and paying for travel, and
- 7:24Speaker 1: our eyelashes were also like when we do keynotes or
- 7:27Speaker 1: we do any travel that we have to do, we
- 7:29Speaker 1: have to take time off of work and we don't
- 7:31Speaker 1: always have paid time off, so we have you know,
- 7:34Speaker 1: we have to make up for that. And there's been
- 7:36Speaker 1: very very few times that we've ever like paid ourselves
- 7:38Speaker 1: like as individuals. It always goes back to the podcast.
- 7:42Speaker 1: So just some background, which is why is it it's
- 7:45Speaker 1: exciting for us to see like a major publication like
- 7:48Speaker 1: four because we're super indie. We're little, you know. So anyways,
- 7:53Speaker 1: thank you everybody. We have some upcoming events, yes we do, yes,
- 7:58Speaker 1: So this coming Friday at MacArthur Park, Levitt so A
- 8:02Speaker 1: Levea Pavilion, they are hosting their fifty free Summer concert
- 8:06Speaker 1: concert series and we are actually gonna be hosting We're
- 8:09Speaker 1: gonna be fiancying this upcoming one Friday July Third Team
- 8:13Speaker 1: and it's gonna be UM. So two bands are playing.
- 8:17Speaker 1: One is so Mad and the other one is Coast City,
- 8:20Speaker 1: And we're really excited because as you like, if you
- 8:23Speaker 1: all don't know, MacArthur Park in that area is like
- 8:25Speaker 1: a very big Central American Latino Latino community. So Levitt
- 8:30Speaker 1: is like trying really hard to, like um, really bring
- 8:33Speaker 1: arts and music into under resource underserved communities. So we're
- 8:37Speaker 1: really excited to be partnering with them, and it's really
- 8:40Speaker 1: cool for us to be involved in the concerts at
- 8:43Speaker 1: MacArthur Park. You know, I live in the area and
- 8:47Speaker 1: the concerts there at MacArthur Park are always a huge
- 8:50Speaker 1: like draw in the summers for the community, and the
- 8:52Speaker 1: concerts really do get packed and people come out and
- 8:56Speaker 1: families and kids, and I remember one of my favorite
- 8:59Speaker 1: shows that I saw there um was when Ozo Motley played,
- 9:02Speaker 1: you know. So they'll bring in like groups even that
- 9:05Speaker 1: our l A locals that have gone on to do
- 9:07Speaker 1: good things, and they're flying people in also from outside
- 9:10Speaker 1: the country. Yes, yes, So it's really exciting and um,
- 9:15Speaker 1: if you've never been to like a concert in the
- 9:17Speaker 1: park or anything like that, like just so you know,
- 9:19Speaker 1: like take your lawn chairs, take your beverages, take your food,
- 9:23Speaker 1: like you can have a picnic. It's family friendly. My
- 9:26Speaker 1: family is going to go, like our friends are gonna go.
- 9:28Speaker 1: Friends are going going to try and gather everybody, and
- 9:31Speaker 1: so let's go. Let's pack it. If you are listening
- 9:34Speaker 1: and you're they're like, where your poppy hate love? Where
- 9:39Speaker 1: your poppy hat? Where your pains? Yes? Yes, yes, yes,
- 9:42Speaker 1: so that's love it. On July thirteenth, Karthur Park, come
- 9:45Speaker 1: see us last night. Hold on just to me, let
- 9:49Speaker 1: me say real quick. Um. We also will be fancying
- 9:52Speaker 1: some events in August, so if you can't make it
- 9:54Speaker 1: out to this one, there will be a few other
- 9:55Speaker 1: ones in August, and we'll announce those as they come closer. Okay, sorry,
- 9:59Speaker 1: go ahead, No, yeah, I just wanted to share that.
- 10:02Speaker 1: So I don't know if you've all heard of the
- 10:04Speaker 1: Upright Citizens Brigade, but they have like a theater in
- 10:08Speaker 1: Hollywood on Franklin and then they have like a comedy
- 10:10Speaker 1: venue on Sunset in Hollywood. So they do like a
- 10:14Speaker 1: lot of different theatrical productions on sketch comedy and stand up.
- 10:18Speaker 1: So UM, I want to thank Spanish Acti Presents, which
- 10:23Speaker 1: is like a Latin x sketch comedy group based out
- 10:27Speaker 1: of Upright Citizens Brigade and uh Ri Saisia for inviting
- 10:32Speaker 1: the podcast to go to one of their shows last
- 10:34Speaker 1: night for Spanish Presents, so we got to see Justina.
- 10:38Speaker 1: Gina Machado was the lead actress alongside Rita moreno Um
- 10:44Speaker 1: for One Day at a Time on Netflix. She was
- 10:47Speaker 1: a special guest at the show. We saw stand up
- 10:51Speaker 1: from Buzzfeeds, Gadiel del Orbe and Andrew Santiago. They both
- 10:55Speaker 1: did stand up. DJ Tragic played, We saw Gina Rodriguez,
- 11:00Speaker 1: she was there in the audience with her man, so
- 11:02Speaker 1: that was really exciting. Um So I went with them
- 11:05Speaker 1: our friend of the podcast, Melissa, and it was a
- 11:07Speaker 1: great show. We saw like all this Latin x sketch comedy, um,
- 11:12Speaker 1: stand up improv and it was really fun. It was
- 11:16Speaker 1: really fun. I haven't seen live theater in a long
- 11:18Speaker 1: time and it was nice, you know, to go to
- 11:20Speaker 1: and see like all these young Latino creators just like
- 11:23Speaker 1: doing it and putting on shows. We might have something
- 11:26Speaker 1: secret brewing in the future in this area, maybe possibly,
- 11:31Speaker 1: so stay tuned for that because you know, we're getting
- 11:34Speaker 1: into the live shows and everything. So yeah, super fun. Yes,
- 11:37Speaker 1: I'm like so happy that Mama was able to go
- 11:39Speaker 1: and represent for the both of us UM and yeah,
- 11:42Speaker 1: like she said, like, we'll see what the future holds
- 11:44Speaker 1: for us UM and then okay, So this past week,
- 11:50Speaker 1: um I, we were doing some polls via Instagram and
- 11:53Speaker 1: like we wanted to find out like, how y'all, how
- 11:56Speaker 1: y'all listen to us? What are y'all doing while you're
- 11:58Speaker 1: listening and standing got sis don Monday hando, what are
- 12:01Speaker 1: y'all doing? So that led us to think about, like
- 12:06Speaker 1: we'll ask y'all, like what if we were to host
- 12:08Speaker 1: like a meet up in l A for our listeners
- 12:10Speaker 1: that live here, and y'all were super receptive and super
- 12:13Speaker 1: open and down. So we did another poll and we
- 12:17Speaker 1: voted on a date. So we're gonna be having an
- 12:20Speaker 1: meet up for our l A locomotives Saturday, August eleventh.
- 12:24Speaker 1: Location is to be determined. We're trying to figure out
- 12:27Speaker 1: the best venue, UM and it's going to be in
- 12:30Speaker 1: the afternoon, so anticipate like two three o'clock something like that,
- 12:34Speaker 1: and we'll keep you all posted, but for now, save
- 12:36Speaker 1: the date, Save the date, be prepared with your poppy hats,
- 12:40Speaker 1: hans um, bring friends, bring family, bring loved ones. We
- 12:46Speaker 1: just want to get together and just hang out with everybody. Yeah,
- 12:49Speaker 1: it'll be super low key and promptu and like if
- 12:52Speaker 1: you've been to our shows or you've you've been to
- 12:55Speaker 1: any of our events or our parties, like you know
- 12:56Speaker 1: that we can't really talk very much to everyone, Like
- 13:00Speaker 1: we can say hello and like chat briefly, but it's
- 13:02Speaker 1: just so busy all the time. So this will be
- 13:04Speaker 1: a way to get to know us and like talk
- 13:06Speaker 1: to us more on like a personal level where there's
- 13:09Speaker 1: not like speakers blaring and you know all that really
- 13:12Speaker 1: fun to go the party, but not like the best
- 13:13Speaker 1: place to like chat, you know. Yeah, and as pointed out,
- 13:17Speaker 1: you know, like we have when we've done parties and events,
- 13:21Speaker 1: they've been like at clubs or bars. Yes, even our
- 13:23Speaker 1: own live show right was twenty one plus, so we
- 13:26Speaker 1: have listeners who are younger than one um and so
- 13:30Speaker 1: trying to figure out a way to connect with everybody
- 13:33Speaker 1: outside of the bar space. So just like if you
- 13:38Speaker 1: are a listener that is under twenty one and you
- 13:41Speaker 1: want to come, like this will be the event for you.
- 13:43Speaker 1: We're like really trying to plan it so that it's
- 13:45Speaker 1: accessible to everybody. Um and also like folks that are
- 13:48Speaker 1: sober and don't want to be like a bar space,
- 13:50Speaker 1: you know exactly, So we have options for getting together.
- 13:53Speaker 1: We're trying to find like the right place. So we'll
- 13:55Speaker 1: tell y'all. We'll let y'all now, yeah, all right, are
- 13:58Speaker 1: we ready? We're ready, Yes, it's time for listener questions. Okay,
- 14:03Speaker 1: So the first one is being the mommies of myth
- 14:07Speaker 1: and bullshit and allusion to one of Sandra sis Nettle's poems.
- 14:11Speaker 1: Now it is Zdinding correct, So the very first capito
- 14:18Speaker 1: no local epistemologies we actually discussed like the poem Loose
- 14:23Speaker 1: Woman by Sandra STOs, which is where the mommies of
- 14:27Speaker 1: myth and Bullshit comes from. She says, I am a
- 14:29Speaker 1: woman of myth and bullshit, and she also in the
- 14:34Speaker 1: poem goes on to talk about how like I'm a
- 14:36Speaker 1: woman of myth and bullshit and yes I authored some
- 14:40Speaker 1: of it, right, So our whole idea and We've talked
- 14:43Speaker 1: about this before in the podcast. The idea in creating
- 14:46Speaker 1: an audio archive and creating a radio phonic novella in
- 14:49Speaker 1: which we and our friends and our folks are at
- 14:52Speaker 1: the center, right, is like we are writing our own mythology.
- 14:56Speaker 1: We're creating our own narrative and like our own archive
- 14:59Speaker 1: of our lives, and we're documenting our bullshit ourselves, you know,
- 15:03Speaker 1: like you can't rewrite our history because we're writing it ourselves.
- 15:06Speaker 1: We're documenting it as we go. Absolutely from the podcast
- 15:10Speaker 1: to the Instagram and the selfies and the stories and
- 15:13Speaker 1: the posts and the tweets, like it's all documentation, you know,
- 15:17Speaker 1: like we have written what's happened right, right, And if
- 15:22Speaker 1: you think about like ancestry and like communities, right, a
- 15:25Speaker 1: lot of stuff gets lost and a lot of stuff
- 15:27Speaker 1: isn't documented or archives. So it's really important now. Like
- 15:31Speaker 1: now I think about, like, um, like what does that
- 15:34Speaker 1: queer ancestry look like? Like a lot of our elders,
- 15:37Speaker 1: Like we don't have a lot of elders. Like if
- 15:39Speaker 1: you think about like the queer community or even like
- 15:41Speaker 1: fem fem elders, so like thinking about that and honoring
- 15:44Speaker 1: like what what legacy are we leaving for, like the
- 15:47Speaker 1: queer fem women of color folks that are to follow us,
- 15:51Speaker 1: you know, like what are we leaving behind to keep
- 15:54Speaker 1: building off of? So I think that that's something that
- 15:57Speaker 1: we're doing, and like that is where where mommy submit
- 15:59Speaker 1: and bullshit from and like mommies because we're mummies, because
- 16:02Speaker 1: our mommies, because why not because mommy and for me too.
- 16:06Speaker 1: I think there's a part of what we've done with
- 16:09Speaker 1: the podcasts and with just our social media is like
- 16:11Speaker 1: creating your own hype. You know, you gotta create your
- 16:14Speaker 1: own hype. You gotta you gotta name yourself and tell
- 16:17Speaker 1: people that your bomb right right right, you know. So
- 16:20Speaker 1: we named we named ourselves the mommy's ad myth and bullshit.
- 16:23Speaker 1: Nobody like bestowed that upon us. It's not like we
- 16:26Speaker 1: earned it and somebody recognized us with that. No, we
- 16:28Speaker 1: created that for ourselves. We made that, you know, we
- 16:31Speaker 1: became it. And so just for anybody who's interested in,
- 16:35Speaker 1: you know, pursuing some type of a creative project or
- 16:39Speaker 1: if you yourself are the creative project, not being afraid
- 16:42Speaker 1: to hype yourself up in those ways. Yeah, And I
- 16:45Speaker 1: mean I think everything that we do is like not
- 16:48Speaker 1: for the mail gates, right, And that's what like being
- 16:51Speaker 1: like fem is right. You're doing it for yourself and
- 16:53Speaker 1: you're doing it to be empowered and you're like owning
- 16:56Speaker 1: this femininity and it's not because you are doing it
- 17:00Speaker 1: for the mail gays, you know what I mean. So
- 17:02Speaker 1: there's so much power in doing it for yourself and
- 17:04Speaker 1: like doing it in community, which is what we do.
- 17:06Speaker 1: So yeah, yeah, yeah, and we do. I think the
- 17:10Speaker 1: myth part is important for us because we talk about
- 17:13Speaker 1: going back to look at pistemologies. We will look at
- 17:16Speaker 1: historical traditional cultural myths and mythologies and unpack it and
- 17:21Speaker 1: look for the survivor narrative. A lot of what we
- 17:23Speaker 1: do is counter narrative, Like our podcast is a giant
- 17:26Speaker 1: counter narrative. So I think that for us that tagline
- 17:31Speaker 1: ties into it too. We don't need to be like,
- 17:34Speaker 1: we don't need to be useful in a utilitarian way
- 17:38Speaker 1: or academic in a useful way. We can we can
- 17:40Speaker 1: bullshit and still do it and it still counts and
- 17:43Speaker 1: you still want to listen to it and it's fine. Yeah, absolutely,
- 17:47Speaker 1: so yeah, yeah, good question, great question. Thank you to
- 17:50Speaker 1: whomever submitted that one. Thank you. Okay, So next question
- 17:54Speaker 1: and we're gonna like build off of this question for
- 17:56Speaker 1: the rest of But this question is um, is it
- 18:00Speaker 1: too late as a twenty four year old woman to
- 18:02Speaker 1: make lifelong friends? Any suggestions and or advice on where
- 18:06Speaker 1: to find some bomb friends and put myself out there?
- 18:08Speaker 1: I need friends? Like? Yah? Good? Good question. What do
- 18:14Speaker 1: you think? No? I don't think that it's too late
- 18:16Speaker 1: as a woman, Absolutely not. Um. I feel like, um,
- 18:22Speaker 1: maybe I don't know, but I'm gonna make this guess
- 18:25Speaker 1: that maybe this woman, this twenty four year old is
- 18:28Speaker 1: um has kind of like outgrown her older friends or
- 18:32Speaker 1: her friends that she's had for for an x amount
- 18:34Speaker 1: of time a significant yeah, yeah, so she that she
- 18:37Speaker 1: may feel like she doesn't have any friends, you know
- 18:41Speaker 1: what I mean? UM? And that's okay. I think we've
- 18:43Speaker 1: talked about that in another cap where you will it's
- 18:46Speaker 1: natural to outgrow people and having someone be in your
- 18:50Speaker 1: life just because you have histories and necessarily the right
- 18:53Speaker 1: reason to have them in your life. If there's you're
- 18:55Speaker 1: not um really like if there's no like neutral, like exchange,
- 19:00Speaker 1: like effort, and like all these things that go into
- 19:03Speaker 1: being a good friend. Um, then I mean there there's
- 19:05Speaker 1: really no point in them serving I mean, being in
- 19:07Speaker 1: your life that they're not serving anything beneficial for you,
- 19:10Speaker 1: you know what I mean. Um, yeah, that is what
- 19:14Speaker 1: I think about that. It's definitely twenty four is very young,
- 19:19Speaker 1: like you're little, You're little somebody. I'm twenty six and
- 19:22Speaker 1: someone told me that I was little the other day.
- 19:24Speaker 1: I feel like an older woman was like you're little. Um,
- 19:27Speaker 1: but yeah, you're really young. If you're twenty four, you're
- 19:29Speaker 1: really young. And um, you know my mom being an
- 19:32Speaker 1: older woman, my mom still makes new friends and then
- 19:36Speaker 1: like like solid friends, like good friends, not just acquaintances,
- 19:40Speaker 1: you know. And I think that for me, where I've
- 19:43Speaker 1: made friends as an adult has been people who share
- 19:47Speaker 1: my same interests, you know. Like we talked about our
- 19:50Speaker 1: origin story, Yosa and I, and we became friends because
- 19:53Speaker 1: we had this shared interest of using the Internet and
- 19:56Speaker 1: being online and then hanging out with other Latinas and
- 20:00Speaker 1: became like that's what brought us together, um, saying with
- 20:04Speaker 1: with Yessica and I'm going to get the apple bum
- 20:06Speaker 1: and marizza, Like we were all just i G users
- 20:09Speaker 1: who just came together because we happen to all follow
- 20:12Speaker 1: the same accounts, you know, so I have like my
- 20:15Speaker 1: sister is My sister is highly involved U in this
- 20:19Speaker 1: like Women's Harry this Women's Harry Potter like club like
- 20:23Speaker 1: on Facebook. She's like heavily involved and she's made so
- 20:27Speaker 1: many friends that way because she has this heavy interest
- 20:29Speaker 1: in Harry Potter and they like have monthly meet ups
- 20:32Speaker 1: and the like get packages and like they have like shirts,
- 20:35Speaker 1: like the whole thing, you know. So all that to say, like,
- 20:39Speaker 1: if you have an interest, even if it's like niche
- 20:42Speaker 1: or weird, like, I promise you that there's like an
- 20:45Speaker 1: online community which translates into an in real life community,
- 20:50Speaker 1: So don't be afraid to join those groups and just
- 20:52Speaker 1: get started and show up to things. We've had listeners
- 20:55Speaker 1: we've had Okay, speaking of making friends, I know we
- 20:58Speaker 1: know for a fact that the pot cast has brought
- 21:02Speaker 1: moheadas together and mohadas have become friends. Like we have
- 21:06Speaker 1: listeners that will come to our events like alone like Sola,
- 21:09Speaker 1: you know, but to like and have met people and
- 21:11Speaker 1: have become friends with us and with others and like
- 21:15Speaker 1: our events. I love that our events feel safe enough
- 21:17Speaker 1: for people to come alone and they know they're going
- 21:21Speaker 1: to find fun and community even if they show up
- 21:23Speaker 1: by themselves. Yes, I agree. So I mean if you
- 21:26Speaker 1: this mohead or just anyone in general like come to
- 21:29Speaker 1: the events like I come ter meet up, I think
- 21:33Speaker 1: that that would be a great place. And I like
- 21:35Speaker 1: totally agree with Momala said, like finding people that you
- 21:39Speaker 1: share interest with, you know, I think that is where,
- 21:43Speaker 1: um the commonality will lie and like where you can
- 21:45Speaker 1: build a friendship. And also it's okay I think to
- 21:48Speaker 1: have like your friends for certain things, you know what
- 21:50Speaker 1: I mean, Like you have like your gym friends maybe
- 21:53Speaker 1: or like your hiking friends or whatever, like you do
- 21:56Speaker 1: activities with. And then you have your drinking friends, your
- 21:59Speaker 1: brunch friends, and then you have like your home girls
- 22:01Speaker 1: that you're gonna like go to like for everything, and
- 22:04Speaker 1: they're kind of they kind of encompass all of those groups,
- 22:06Speaker 1: you know what I mean. Um, So I think that
- 22:08Speaker 1: that's okay. Um. And yeah, I mean I don't think
- 22:11Speaker 1: it's too late at all, Like, yeah, put yourself out yourself.
- 22:16Speaker 1: Like dating, it's like dating face, it's like dating. It's
- 22:21Speaker 1: easier than dating, easier than dating. It's easier, but it's
- 22:23Speaker 1: like dating in that you gotta put yourself out there. Yes,
- 22:26Speaker 1: you because you know friends as an adult, friends don't
- 22:30Speaker 1: necessarily come looking for you. Yeah, you have to put
- 22:34Speaker 1: in the effort, like both of you do, to run
- 22:37Speaker 1: into each other in collide somewhere. My friend Monica has
- 22:41Speaker 1: like an entire community of people she's become friends with
- 22:44Speaker 1: and they go to events because they all like Black
- 22:47Speaker 1: Milk Clothing Company, you know what I mean, Like, and
- 22:50Speaker 1: they all follow the clothing company's Facebook. And when the
- 22:52Speaker 1: clothing company has problems, they all go and they all
- 22:55Speaker 1: wear the clothes. It could be anything I've seen that,
- 22:58Speaker 1: like when like makeup artists have um they're like meat ingreds.
- 23:01Speaker 1: And then like the makeup community has it's like its
- 23:03Speaker 1: own community, like of all the like beauty gurus and
- 23:06Speaker 1: like all that stuff, you know, and so like there's
- 23:08Speaker 1: so many communities. I feel like the Internet has really
- 23:11Speaker 1: made that available to us, all these like sub communities
- 23:14Speaker 1: within one community, which I think is really interesting. Like
- 23:17Speaker 1: I just joined like a like a poc skincare group
- 23:21Speaker 1: on Facebook, and I was like, I thought I knew
- 23:23Speaker 1: a lot about skincare, and it turns out I don't
- 23:25Speaker 1: like like these heads are these women? These folks talk
- 23:30Speaker 1: about like the ingredients in the skincare and like literally
- 23:34Speaker 1: like the scientific ship like, well, if you're using this
- 23:37Speaker 1: product and it has this ingredient, well you can't use
- 23:39Speaker 1: this one because it has that ingredient and it's not
- 23:41Speaker 1: going to mix. Well they know that kind of ship.
- 23:44Speaker 1: And I was like, wow, I just know the vitamin
- 23:45Speaker 1: C is good for my skins. All that I know.
- 23:48Speaker 1: I thought I was on top of it because I
- 23:49Speaker 1: was wearing serums, but no. So anyway, the point is
- 23:53Speaker 1: that there's like a there's a lot out there, and
- 23:55Speaker 1: like I hope like you find your group and like
- 23:57Speaker 1: come to our events. And yeah, the head that actually
- 24:01Speaker 1: wrote this wrote this question. She also like DMed us
- 24:05Speaker 1: the other day. Um, I forget about what but she
- 24:07Speaker 1: demmed us. So come to one of our events, come
- 24:10Speaker 1: to the meet up, like we want to meet we
- 24:13Speaker 1: want to meet you. Let's be friends. Yes, I think
- 24:15Speaker 1: it's time for us to go into our song break Yes,
- 24:21Speaker 1: vodka belly Rosa and and and and and and and
- 24:31Speaker 1: and and and and and and and and um um
- 24:53Speaker 1: um um um um and we're back. Who remembered that song?
- 25:09Speaker 1: That's a classic, right, that is a classic joint. So
- 25:13Speaker 1: like Agian but I don't look so yeah, and obviously
- 25:15Speaker 1: she is, but like, oh my god, they were baby, right,
- 25:18Speaker 1: they were like thirteen or fourteen. I can't even so
- 25:22Speaker 1: many of our favorite favorite pop stars got started when
- 25:27Speaker 1: they were so young, saying all the Destiny's Child girls, Brittany, Christina,
- 25:35Speaker 1: all of them. I can't even imagine. I feel young
- 25:39Speaker 1: in like our twenties, like trying to do stuff like
- 25:42Speaker 1: I can't, like I know, oh my god. Alright anyway, yeah,
- 25:48Speaker 1: so anyway, So the topic of today it's cap is
- 25:51Speaker 1: actually umando as politic um a survival, a survival like
- 26:00Speaker 1: what is from defense is look like? What is what
- 26:03Speaker 1: does like camaraderie co mariando look like? First, I think
- 26:09Speaker 1: it's so fascinating because I don't know that there's like
- 26:12Speaker 1: an English language equivalent to the concept. I don't know
- 26:15Speaker 1: who there is. Like literally, you're a core, you are
- 26:18Speaker 1: co mothering, Yes, you're a co mother and like in
- 26:23Speaker 1: Latino communities, as we all know, to be a mare
- 26:26Speaker 1: can take a lot of different forms. There can be
- 26:28Speaker 1: the formal, like you're literally the baptismal like godmother to
- 26:32Speaker 1: someone's child, like I have my have that um and
- 26:37Speaker 1: I baptized her, So I'm like formally, like you know,
- 26:41Speaker 1: like my uncle is my mi compadre, you know what
- 26:43Speaker 1: I mean. And then like the baby's godfather is Michempare
- 26:47Speaker 1: and then her mom is Michael Madre. So there's like
- 26:49Speaker 1: that literal way of doing things, and then there's the
- 26:51Speaker 1: less formal way of being a Yeah. Yeah, and like
- 26:55Speaker 1: I like, so my Mina is like my mother. So
- 27:00Speaker 1: like when you're talking about like co mothering, it's like
- 27:02Speaker 1: absolutely absolutely, Like I think being a Nina is like
- 27:05Speaker 1: a very very big responsibility. It's a very big role
- 27:09Speaker 1: because she like she mothers me and like all the
- 27:12Speaker 1: fun ways, you know, like she doesn't have to like
- 27:15Speaker 1: deal with my bullshit, you know, like the way my
- 27:17Speaker 1: mom had to, right right, but like my Nina like
- 27:21Speaker 1: she gets to spoil me and like we get to
- 27:26Speaker 1: have all the fun you know, and and then that's it,
- 27:29Speaker 1: you know. I mean she does mother me in other ways,
- 27:31Speaker 1: but like the point is like she gets to be
- 27:33Speaker 1: like the mom that goes home, you know what I mean,
- 27:36Speaker 1: the mom that takes a break, right. Yeah. Anyway, Um,
- 27:39Speaker 1: so yeah, I think Nina's are like when I because
- 27:41Speaker 1: I have such a good relationship with mine, and now
- 27:43Speaker 1: I'm like when I think of Nina's, I just think
- 27:44Speaker 1: of like warmth and like a lot of and like
- 27:47Speaker 1: yeah yeah, like with my um, with Chloe's, with my
- 27:53Speaker 1: god baby with that, Like I love her so much
- 27:56Speaker 1: because she's hilarious and I see so much of myself her.
- 28:00Speaker 1: The other day, like I hung out with her, right
- 28:02Speaker 1: and I don't. Like, here's the thing, like I have,
- 28:04Speaker 1: I have never really taken care of like a child
- 28:08Speaker 1: for like a long period of time by myself because
- 28:11Speaker 1: there's just so many other people, like in the family,
- 28:13Speaker 1: in the house. It's never been like just me. There's
- 28:17Speaker 1: never been a necessity for me to like take care
- 28:20Speaker 1: of the baby for a week or for three days,
- 28:22Speaker 1: you know, like I'll babysit for four or five hours
- 28:24Speaker 1: here and there, and then we're relinquishing. So like I
- 28:28Speaker 1: had Chloes the other day and like we went and
- 28:30Speaker 1: we got tacos and we blew bubbles and we hung
- 28:33Speaker 1: out and it was just me and her, and I'm
- 28:36Speaker 1: like so annoyed because at the end of it, I
- 28:38Speaker 1: was like, Wow, I'm like, I'm like, could be such
- 28:40Speaker 1: a cute single mom right now. He's so good at
- 28:42Speaker 1: this baby six once right, prepared for prepared for motherhood.
- 28:48Speaker 1: You're ridiculous, but it was. But it was so cute.
- 28:51Speaker 1: It was a cute thing to do. But like the
- 28:53Speaker 1: like non formal or like informal like school that it
- 28:57Speaker 1: weighs that, like our sisterhood are like friendships that they
- 29:01Speaker 1: kind of like they turned into like this very like
- 29:04Speaker 1: like family type of relationships. Right, Like I like joked
- 29:08Speaker 1: with Mala like the very first time that she gave
- 29:09Speaker 1: me plant clippings, I was like, oh my god, Madres
- 29:13Speaker 1: level unlocked, like mother status unlocked. I was like, this
- 29:18Speaker 1: is it status unlocked truly in real ways And it
- 29:23Speaker 1: was the perfect clipping because it's it was the standard
- 29:26Speaker 1: like potos, Like every Senora has this house plant. Every
- 29:31Speaker 1: Senora has this house plants somewhere in the house. Yeah,
- 29:33Speaker 1: And I told MoMA was like, oh, I want to
- 29:35Speaker 1: buy this plant. She was no, I have clippings. She
- 29:37Speaker 1: was like, I'll give you clippings, Like, don't buy it.
- 29:38Speaker 1: And how are they doing? How are the clippings? They
- 29:40Speaker 1: are thriving? They have like they appropriated them and like
- 29:46Speaker 1: the little these little like pink faces and they look
- 29:49Speaker 1: really pretty. I have like one next to my succulents
- 29:52Speaker 1: one of my dad. Like, they're very they're doing well.
- 29:54Speaker 1: I love it because we're both dog moms, but we're
- 29:57Speaker 1: also plant moms. Yes, yes, we like for now, that's
- 30:01Speaker 1: the only mothering that we only have the capacity for
- 30:04Speaker 1: those types of mother right right. And our dogs, our
- 30:08Speaker 1: dogs are friends. Pappas is a little aggressive. Pop Us
- 30:11Speaker 1: is very aggressive. He's just like a super hyper terrier.
- 30:14Speaker 1: He's like a year old. He is like he cannot
- 30:18Speaker 1: be around like other small dogs. He needs to be
- 30:20Speaker 1: around like the big boys. Honestly, yeah, but that's neither
- 30:24Speaker 1: here nor there. Ye. Anyways, the other thing that we
- 30:27Speaker 1: do like levels is when we got our joint bank account.
- 30:31Speaker 1: Yes we had we got our joint bank account. We
- 30:33Speaker 1: went to the bank obviously went to the bank and
- 30:35Speaker 1: we opened up our bank account. And it's so funny
- 30:37Speaker 1: because mil and I do like very partnery things, you know,
- 30:41Speaker 1: because we are partners, are partners in podcasting. We're like,
- 30:44Speaker 1: you know, we have a very like romantic platonic relationship,
- 30:47Speaker 1: like we send each other good morning text messages, you know.
- 30:50Speaker 1: But obviously we're home girls were gods. But we get
- 30:53Speaker 1: asked constantly if like we're partners, like if we're in
- 30:57Speaker 1: a romantic relationship and we're always like no, but like
- 31:02Speaker 1: it looks like it definitely yeah, and maybe like, um,
- 31:06Speaker 1: you know, maybe more functional, yeah, many a romantic maybe
- 31:12Speaker 1: maybe No, it's super cute. I mean we'll shop for
- 31:16Speaker 1: clothes together, like if we have an event, because we
- 31:18Speaker 1: like to coordinate, you we like matching out. We accidentally
- 31:20Speaker 1: coordinate all the time. Yes, it does happen accidentally. Um,
- 31:24Speaker 1: I think we just aret in rhythm right now, an
- 31:27Speaker 1: aesthetic rhythm. We're also like very in sync. Yeah, I
- 31:30Speaker 1: feel it. Like sometimes we we'll like text each other
- 31:33Speaker 1: like things that the other was in a text, Like,
- 31:37Speaker 1: we'll text each other something that the other was going
- 31:39Speaker 1: to text. You know what I mean. I'm like, stop it.
- 31:41Speaker 1: I was just going to tell you this. The thoughts
- 31:43Speaker 1: are like here on the forefront, right yeah, yeah, yeah
- 31:46Speaker 1: what else? Yeah no, no, no, we joke. I'm like,
- 31:49Speaker 1: is the only person who sends me my good morning
- 31:51Speaker 1: beautiful text? It's true, It's true. I sent her a
- 31:54Speaker 1: good morning text every day, good morning text every day.
- 31:58Speaker 1: I'm partnership, and we don't talk, like and if we
- 32:02Speaker 1: don't talk for like twelve hours, to twenty four hours,
- 32:04Speaker 1: like freak out. It's like weird. She's like just checking
- 32:07Speaker 1: in because it feels weird that we haven't spoken, Like
- 32:09Speaker 1: what have we not been talking all day like we
- 32:11Speaker 1: normally do, because usually we're texting and we're on I
- 32:14Speaker 1: G D M and Twitter DM and sometimes also Facebook
- 32:19Speaker 1: at the same time talking about different things. And then
- 32:22Speaker 1: sometimes we will both switch between our personal and the
- 32:25Speaker 1: look at the account on all the platforms. So from
- 32:31Speaker 1: two profiles on every platform, Oh my god, yeah, exactly exactly,
- 32:38Speaker 1: so you know what I mean? You know what I mean?
- 32:39Speaker 1: Like our sister, like, why don't we even talk about everything? Everything?
- 32:45Speaker 1: We're plotting. We're plots. We're literally always talking about something
- 32:50Speaker 1: at all times. When I tell you, like we're like podcast,
- 32:54Speaker 1: Like sometimes it's first thing in the morning, it's like,
- 32:56Speaker 1: good morning, this is what we have going on to right. Well,
- 32:59Speaker 1: then the other day I was out here in boil
- 33:01Speaker 1: Hights for work and when I was driving back to
- 33:03Speaker 1: the office, I called Mala and we had like a
- 33:05Speaker 1: twenty five minute work call as I was driving to
- 33:08Speaker 1: my other job, and I was like, Okay, this is
- 33:10Speaker 1: the kind of ship you gotta do. And we had
- 33:13Speaker 1: like a full ass meeting in the twenty five minute drive.
- 33:17Speaker 1: Like no, we hustle, like we really do. We We eat, breathe,
- 33:21Speaker 1: and sleep this ship. To be honest, we literally do.
- 33:24Speaker 1: I mean yeah, So anyway, anyway, anyway, going back to
- 33:31Speaker 1: like it's interesting like the way I feel like once
- 33:38Speaker 1: you get to liked, like it's a very different type
- 33:43Speaker 1: of relationship or like it's almost like like you're it's
- 33:47Speaker 1: like like I said earlier, like you it's like a
- 33:49Speaker 1: status unlocked, right, So it's like you're above the home girl,
- 33:52Speaker 1: You're closer than the friend. You're like kind of like
- 33:54Speaker 1: a sister, but not necessarily so. And I feel like
- 34:00Speaker 1: the way Mama said in the beginning, it's like is
- 34:02Speaker 1: like we'll take care of each other. Literally they take
- 34:04Speaker 1: care of each other's kids. There's like so much support
- 34:07Speaker 1: in that once you have children. I mean obviously we
- 34:10Speaker 1: joke it like we don't have children, but like seeing
- 34:12Speaker 1: the way our mothers have like have had their friends
- 34:15Speaker 1: like be in our lives and help us and the
- 34:17Speaker 1: thea and is like literally having like this community of
- 34:21Speaker 1: this network of women, it's really important for like like
- 34:24Speaker 1: financial support like go mas have like thandas like they'll have, um,
- 34:29Speaker 1: what's the word in English? Exactly Like they'll have like
- 34:32Speaker 1: a like a cooperative type thing, and like they'll put
- 34:36Speaker 1: like a hundred bucks each month and then one time
- 34:39Speaker 1: this girl gets it, this movehead gets it, and so
- 34:41Speaker 1: on and so forth, right, And that that kind of
- 34:43Speaker 1: like informal economy is like really really important. And also
- 34:49Speaker 1: if like women need to have money separate from their partners, yes,
- 34:55Speaker 1: like if you're if you if a woman is married
- 34:58Speaker 1: to a man, right, like do you want to on
- 35:00Speaker 1: bank account? Like because you want him to know everything
- 35:02Speaker 1: that you're spending, you know what I mean. He needs
- 35:04Speaker 1: to know about all of your assets and prop whatever
- 35:07Speaker 1: you have, whatever that you have. So having that kind
- 35:10Speaker 1: of like informal support, well informal in the sense it's
- 35:13Speaker 1: not like at a bank, right, That's what I mean.
- 35:16Speaker 1: Like I think that that is also a really important
- 35:18Speaker 1: part of survival that we don't always talk about. Um.
- 35:22Speaker 1: I was just thinking about this the other day. Is
- 35:24Speaker 1: like in the community at large, like the amount of
- 35:28Speaker 1: currency that we have between us to survive, there's more
- 35:33Speaker 1: of us than there is currency, right, what we end
- 35:36Speaker 1: up doing. And I was just because within my own
- 35:39Speaker 1: family and like looking at my mother and her mares
- 35:42Speaker 1: and just like all of our lives. There's especially one
- 35:45Speaker 1: woman that her daughter I went to Lilia. You know
- 35:49Speaker 1: that I've known this girl since I wasn't like pre
- 35:52Speaker 1: k um and till now to like lifelong friends and
- 35:56Speaker 1: like other co mares right and their moms and my
- 36:00Speaker 1: mom and like her co mothers would lend each other
- 36:03Speaker 1: money all the time. Like there was a time where,
- 36:05Speaker 1: like my parents did not have money for my sisters
- 36:08Speaker 1: one semester one semester of her tuition. And you know
- 36:11Speaker 1: how universities are, they don't give a funk. They'll lock
- 36:13Speaker 1: you out of your door, out of your classes, like
- 36:15Speaker 1: they'll drop you from classes and then you're dropped from
- 36:17Speaker 1: the university. They'll lock you out of your dorm so
- 36:19Speaker 1: your key card doesn't work. And my sister was going
- 36:21Speaker 1: to school in New York at the time, and it
- 36:23Speaker 1: was winter and so she like they had locked her
- 36:26Speaker 1: out of her door, and they had locked out of
- 36:27Speaker 1: the cafeteria. All this bullshit because of the tuition. One
- 36:30Speaker 1: of my mom's called mothers like lent us money and
- 36:34Speaker 1: like went without electricity in her house for like twenty
- 36:37Speaker 1: four hours so that my parents could put money for
- 36:39Speaker 1: my sister's tuition, and that's what it's been, back and forth,
- 36:43Speaker 1: back and forth like that for years. And then now
- 36:47Speaker 1: growing up, now that me and my sister are young adults,
- 36:50Speaker 1: we see sort of the same trends happening between us
- 36:53Speaker 1: and our friends. We help each other out because there's
- 36:57Speaker 1: more of us than there are resource this, so we
- 37:00Speaker 1: end up It's like when you have your bank accounts
- 37:02Speaker 1: and you're constantly moving around money. I feel like in
- 37:05Speaker 1: our communities, we're just always moving around right right right,
- 37:08Speaker 1: just to cover this for today and then you'll get
- 37:10Speaker 1: me back next week and now we're going to cover
- 37:12Speaker 1: this absolutely. Yeah yeah, no, I mean and building off
- 37:16Speaker 1: of that, like having that support, that social support, like
- 37:19Speaker 1: to even like have like your kids be like babysat
- 37:23Speaker 1: or like having your kids like they go to your
- 37:27Speaker 1: house like or like the other person's house after school,
- 37:29Speaker 1: you know what I mean, So that there's like kind
- 37:31Speaker 1: of like safety net. There's that support that's really important
- 37:34Speaker 1: in our communities, and like we see that like that
- 37:36Speaker 1: whole Like that's saying of like it takes a village,
- 37:38Speaker 1: right like literally, it takes likes, it takes sisterhood, It
- 37:42Speaker 1: takes the pimas like everybody like being involved and a
- 37:46Speaker 1: lot of I feel like a lot of us are
- 37:47Speaker 1: raised by like multiple people in our families because it
- 37:52Speaker 1: is it is that kind of like, well, I cannot
- 37:54Speaker 1: stay at home because I have to work, right, so
- 37:56Speaker 1: I'm going to leave you with like your Nina, I'm
- 37:59Speaker 1: gonna leave you with your with and so on and
- 38:01Speaker 1: so forth. Absolutely, and childcare is expensive, yes, you know,
- 38:04Speaker 1: so that's another sort of it's still in economic support. Absolutely.
- 38:08Speaker 1: And I also love how mare and comrade are so
- 38:12Speaker 1: similar in spelling, and I think that like when you
- 38:16Speaker 1: take all these things into account, it's basically the same thing.
- 38:19Speaker 1: It is you're surviving repression, right. And also like, okay,
- 38:25Speaker 1: so if we want to move beyond like being in
- 38:28Speaker 1: survival mode, right, and like we want to actually be
- 38:30Speaker 1: thriving individuals, thriving women, thriving beings, Like you don't thrive
- 38:35Speaker 1: by yourself, like you need your like comas, you need
- 38:39Speaker 1: your home girls with you. I's not like are you
- 38:41Speaker 1: really thriving? Are you really thriving? And you should want
- 38:44Speaker 1: them with you too? Yeah. Absolutely, I think part of
- 38:46Speaker 1: what I love, like we talked about, you know, like
- 38:50Speaker 1: our parties and our events on the podcast. I love
- 38:52Speaker 1: that it's become a place, whether in the comments section
- 38:55Speaker 1: or at our in real life meetups where like listeners
- 38:58Speaker 1: are getting to know each other and are becoming friends,
- 39:01Speaker 1: are becoming lovers or whatever it is. Yes, and yeah,
- 39:06Speaker 1: like I just I want this to be a place
- 39:08Speaker 1: where like you could be a core and you can
- 39:10Speaker 1: thrive in it. Absolutely, Yes, cute. Okay, So my question
- 39:16Speaker 1: for all of y'all, Our question for all of y'all is, um,
- 39:20Speaker 1: what does core could look like in your life? And
- 39:26Speaker 1: like what is being a com I means to you?
- 39:28Speaker 1: That is my question for y'all. So we're gonna link,
- 39:30Speaker 1: We're gonna do a text post for y'all to answer.
- 39:33Speaker 1: But I'm really curious as like are you a Nina
- 39:35Speaker 1: and like what does that mean for you? Or like
- 39:37Speaker 1: what is your relationship with your nina? Like what is
- 39:40Speaker 1: like sisterhood and like camaraderie, Like like Mala said, like
- 39:45Speaker 1: and comrade are very similar words, you know, and like
- 39:48Speaker 1: that doesn't seem accidental, no, right, there's still like a
- 39:52Speaker 1: lot of politics behind it. So yeah, what does that
- 39:54Speaker 1: look like for y'all? We cannot wait to hear we
- 39:58Speaker 1: want to hear about your experiences UM and yeah, as always,
- 40:02Speaker 1: like if there are topics or other subject matter that
- 40:05Speaker 1: you want to hear us talk about. If you have
- 40:07Speaker 1: questions or ideas, please contact us email us look I
- 40:11Speaker 1: thought our radio at gmail dot com because we're always

- 40:18Speaker 1: and like we've been very like the past few caps,
- 40:21Speaker 1: we've have been very interview based where we have like
- 40:23Speaker 1: a lot of guests on UM, which we will continue
- 40:26Speaker 1: to be doing. But we also like really enjoy having
- 40:29Speaker 1: like our just like recording the two of us and
- 40:31Speaker 1: having our like local so it's also good to have
- 40:37Speaker 1: that mix and balance. So yes, I mean, if there's
- 40:39Speaker 1: something specific y'all want to hear about, like you know,
- 40:43Speaker 1: we can talk about in our LOCA segment or just
- 40:45Speaker 1: in the CAAPLO in general. So just as a reminder,
