- 1:20Are you ready?
- 1:21Guys, this is Inspirations for Your Life.
- 1:23It's the daily motivational show, and we're talking
- 1:26about quiet power, winning without losing yourself.
- 1:31We're on day seven, in case you're wondering.
- 1:33Alignment and inner peace.
- 1:36Yes, series five, show three, episode seven.
- 1:40Hello, everyone, and welcome back to Inspirations for
- 1:45Your Life, the daily motivational show where growth
- 1:50is intentional, success is sustainable, and leadership begins
- 1:55within.
- 1:56I'm your host, John Seymourley, serial entrepreneur, engineer,
- 2:01marketing specialist, video producer, podcast host, coach, graduate
- 2:07student, and, yes, a passionate lifelong learner.
- 2:11It is my privilege and my pleasure to
- 2:13be with you here this evening.
- 2:15Through the years of building businesses, leading teams,
- 2:19producing content, and mentoring others, I've learned a
- 2:25truth that doesn't get enough attention.
- 2:29Success should not feel like constant pressure.
- 2:33It should feel aligned.
- 2:35Today's episode focuses on alignment and inner peace,
- 2:40because when your goals, values, and actions work
- 2:44together, progress becomes calm, sustainable, and deeply fulfilling.
- 2:51Without any further ado, guys, let's kick off
- 2:54with the very first point, and that is
- 2:56alignment feels peaceful because your inner world is
- 2:59no longer divided, right?
- 3:01We've had these challenges, you know, where you
- 3:03try to do something, and it's like you're
- 3:05trying to do one thing and do another
- 3:07thing, and you're multitasking, but for whatever reason,
- 3:11you're not completing anything, and this is a
- 3:13serious problem.
- 3:15Number two, guys, success shouldn't cost your soul.
- 3:20Achievement should never require self-betrayal.
- 3:24That's the truth.
- 3:26Inner peace is success because it allows everything
- 3:29else to function well.
- 3:33Number four, guys, align goals, energize rather than
- 3:38exhaust you, okay?
- 3:40And I think when we can align, we
- 3:42can say, you know what?
- 3:43This makes sense.
- 3:47This has a natural continuum, right?
- 3:50I think those are important things to think
- 3:51about.
- 3:52Nobody wants to get exhausted in life.
- 3:54I don't think you want to get exhausted.
- 3:56We want to be in alignment.
- 3:59Number five, guys, peaceful success always lasts longer
- 4:05than chaotic achievement.
- 4:08You know, sometimes you can chase your tail
- 4:10or someone else's tail, and you'll get somewhere,
- 4:13but you're gonna burn out.
- 4:16It's not worth it.
- 4:18Number six, alignment removes resistance and unnecessary struggle.
- 4:27That's a pretty important one, guys.
- 4:31Number seven, calm success is real success, even
- 4:36when it's quiet.
- 4:38You don't need chaos to win.
- 4:42Clarity outperforms stress every time.
- 4:45And I think if we can realize that
- 4:46clarity does outperform stress, as we've been learning
- 4:49all week, then I think we'll be able
- 4:52to not only move the needle, folks, we'll
- 4:54be able to make some major, major strides
- 4:57in our life.
- 4:58So that's really cool.
- 5:03It's definitely something that a lot of people
- 5:08don't realize, but it's something we need to
- 5:13be aware of.
- 5:20Does that make sense?
- 5:22Okay.
- 5:23So number nine, inner peace attracts clarity by
- 5:29reducing mental noise.
- 5:33Mental noise, right?
- 5:37Mental noise is stuff that happens in the
- 5:40background.
- 5:41We don't necessarily know why it's going on,
- 5:43but we know what's happening.
- 5:45And thus, we're like, oh my gosh, what
- 5:46am I supposed to do, right?
- 5:48What am I supposed to do?
- 5:50That noise, we all know noise will distort
- 5:54the message.
- 5:55It can frustrate us.
- 5:57It can frustrate others because, again, it takes
- 6:00us out of alignment because we can't be
- 6:03in a clear clarity operation.
- 6:08I think that's an important thing to know.
- 6:11Number 10, guys, alignment simplifies life by guiding
- 6:16the decisions.
- 6:18I don't want to say it happens automatically,
- 6:21but it does do something very unique, okay?
- 6:32It does something very unique that allows us
- 6:36to figure out why things are a certain
- 6:39way or why they're not a certain way,
- 6:43right?
- 6:50That's very important to realize, okay?
- 6:55Very, very important to realize because if we
- 6:58understand something and we're in alignment with something,
- 7:02then everything magically, well, I don't want to
- 7:05say magically, but it does fall into place,
- 7:08guys.
- 7:09It really does fall into place.
- 7:11And I think that's an important thing to
- 7:15realize is that the more that we become
- 7:18into alignment, the easier our life becomes.
- 7:22It's like the synchronicities just pop into our
- 7:29life.
- 7:32Meanings transpire.
- 7:34Number 11, guys, success should feel sustainable, not
- 7:39draining, not making you tired, right?
- 7:43That's not what success is about.
- 7:46It's not what success is about.
- 7:48I'm just being quite honest with you.
- 7:51Number 12, peace is not laziness.
- 7:54It is focused strength.
- 7:58It's focused strength.
- 7:59That's what peace is.
- 8:01Number 13, aligned work feels lighter because it
- 8:06has meaning.
- 8:10When something has meaning in your life, it
- 8:14suddenly changes the tables.
- 8:17It changes the why.
- 8:20And it also, well, it gets us excited
- 8:22about something.
- 8:23And when we're excited about something, you know
- 8:25what happens?
- 8:26We want to do it more and more
- 8:27and more and more, right?
- 8:30I think that's a very, very important thing.
- 8:36A lot of people don't realize what that
- 8:39is.
- 8:41Does that make sense?
- 8:50I hope it does.
- 9:05I hope that makes sense to you.
- 9:15If it doesn't make sense to you, then
- 9:17maybe you're not thinking about this the right
- 9:20way, okay?
- 9:22Maybe your perception is off because of something
- 9:27you're doing.
- 9:31And, you know, just by changing one thing,
- 9:33we can have a major impact on our
- 9:35lives.
- 9:36When we change the lens, right?
- 9:39If I was to change the lens, let's
- 9:41say you're wearing glasses from one thing to
- 9:43another thing, like a color or a prism,
- 9:44it would have an immediate effect almost overnight.
- 9:49Almost overnight.
- 9:56Does that make sense?
- 9:57I hope it does.
- 10:06I think we fall into these categories and
- 10:11these stages of procrastination.
- 10:14We tell ourselves that, you know, we need
- 10:18a break.
- 10:19And yes, there's break, right?
- 10:21But we have to also make sure that
- 10:24we're in alignment, that we're not chasing our
- 10:25tail.
- 10:27Number 14, guys, calm progress compounds over time.
- 10:36Calm progress over time.
- 10:49Does that make sense?
- 10:50Number 15, you are allowed to enjoy the
- 10:54journey.
- 10:56Number 16, alignment reduces stress by restoring balance.
- 11:02Number 17, peaceful focus scales with responsibility.
- 11:11That's an interesting thing, right?
- 11:22And if we don't get this, then for
- 11:24some reason we're going to be like, I
- 11:26don't know, we're going to be like, how
- 11:29do I get somewhere?
- 11:30Like, I'm confused.
- 11:46Does that make sense?
- 12:00Does that make sense to you guys?
- 12:01Yes or no?
- 12:10If it doesn't, then let me know that
- 12:12too.
- 12:13Because maybe that'll change what you're doing in
- 12:17your life.
- 12:18Maybe it won't.
- 12:19Maybe it'll get you to realize that what
- 12:22you're going for is really not what it's
- 12:24about anymore, right?
- 12:26Maybe, just maybe that'll happen, okay?
- 12:33I think sometimes people, again, they get confused.
- 12:46And I say people get confused because they
- 12:49get stuck.
- 12:54They don't want to be stuck, but they
- 12:57are stuck.
- 13:04I know a lot of times people say
- 13:07to me, John, you know, I tried this
- 13:09and I tried that, but it didn't go
- 13:11anywhere.
- 13:12And the reason it didn't go somewhere is
- 13:14because you didn't really want to do anything.
- 13:18You know, you were just sitting back and
- 13:21you were procrastinating.
- 13:23I mean, I'm not going to lie.
- 13:25And it comes down to, do we want
- 13:28to just do what everybody does, or do
- 13:30we want to be our own?
- 13:35And it's okay to do some things with
- 13:36people sometimes.
- 13:39And other times, well, you want to be
- 13:43your own person.
- 13:49Does that make sense, guys?
- 13:55Maybe people say to me, John, I want
- 13:59to do it differently, but I don't know
- 14:01how to do it differently.
- 14:03Okay.
- 14:04And this happens because, again, we get stuck
- 14:09in this pattern of chasing our tail around
- 14:12this great big circle.
- 14:14That's what it comes down to.
- 14:17Number 18, guys, success does not require suffering
- 14:20to be valid.
- 14:22So many people I know are trying to
- 14:23be martyrs, right?
- 14:24But then what I find out is they're
- 14:26really not doing anything.
- 14:29They're just complaining about life day in and
- 14:34day out, day in and day out.
- 14:39They're complaining about things.
- 14:45That's a challenge, guys.
- 14:49You know, somebody once told me, John, if
- 14:53you're not part of the solution, then you're
- 14:59part of the problem.
- 15:04If you're not part of the solution, then
- 15:06you are part of the problem.
- 15:09That's not to be nasty.
- 15:11That's just to tell the truth.
- 15:16That's just to tell the truth.
- 15:21And I know you probably get inundated with
- 15:27what I should do or what I shouldn't
- 15:29do.
- 15:30But be kind to yourself.
- 15:33Be compassionate to yourself.
- 15:36Find out where your alignment is.
- 15:38And your alignment connects to your true purpose.
- 15:44Your true purpose, guys.
- 15:47Your true purpose.
- 15:50Your true purpose.
- 15:53Your true purpose in life.
- 15:59That's important, guys.
- 16:01Number 19, inner calmness sharpens decisions.
- 16:09And, of course, our judgment.
- 16:14So, John, how does being calm sharpen our
- 16:16judgment?
- 16:17Well, our brain's not trying to do a
- 16:21million things at once.
- 16:24It recognizes the task at hand.
- 16:27And this is why I say, people, multitasking
- 16:29is sometimes overrated.
- 16:30Because the brain is trying to run so
- 16:33much at once, but it can't get one
- 16:36task done correctly.
- 16:39Think about that for a minute.
- 16:41All right.
- 16:42Number 20, alignment creates flow by removing friction.
- 17:00You know, friction is not always bad.
- 17:06If we didn't have friction, ladies and gentlemen,
- 17:08we would not be able to walk.
- 17:12That's right.
- 17:13We would not be able to walk.
- 17:21We would not be able to walk.
- 17:26That's interesting, right?
- 17:28Very interesting, if you ask me.
- 17:30It's extremely interesting.
- 17:33Number 21, guys, peaceful ambition is powerful and
- 17:39resilient.
- 17:41So, I know what some of you are
- 17:43saying right now, and I'm going to answer
- 17:44the question per our good friend, Miriam Webster.
- 17:48We always go to her.
- 17:52What is the word, what does ambition mean,
- 17:55according to Miriam Webster?
- 17:56It's a great question.
- 17:58So, ambition is a noun.
- 17:59It's an ardent desire for rank, fame, or
- 18:03power.
- 18:06A desire to achieve a particular end.
- 18:10The object of ambition.
- 18:13A desire for activity or exertion.
- 18:17Many people in sports have an ambition to
- 18:21score, right?
- 18:24To win the game.
- 18:27They have an ambition.
- 18:31Our ambitions in life are what get us
- 18:34to be successful.
- 18:41That's powerful, guys.
- 18:43Number 22, calm success builds confidence through stability.
- 18:52So, when we're calm, we're all about stability.
- 18:57When we're not calm, well, that could be
- 19:02a problem, right?
- 19:11That could be a very, very big, big
- 19:15problem.
- 19:21And problems transpire for the reason that we're
- 19:27not in alignment with who we are.
- 19:34Sometimes other people try to get us in
- 19:36alignment, right?
- 19:40And sometimes not.
- 19:44Sometimes not.
- 19:46And I know what you're saying.
- 19:48You're saying to me, John, it's nonsense.
- 19:50I'm going to push it into alignment.
- 19:52Well, we talk about a square peg, right?
- 19:56And a round peg.
- 19:57So, if we have a round hole, and
- 19:59we use a round peg, it goes through.
- 20:02If we try to put a square peg
- 20:03through a round hole, what happens?
- 20:06It gets stuck.
- 20:09So, when that happens in our lives, we
- 20:13need to not give up.
- 20:14We need to change the vehicle.
- 20:20We need to change the peg, or we
- 20:22need to change the hole.
- 20:24So, we need to change how we're approaching
- 20:26things.
- 20:27That's key, guys.
- 20:29Number 23.
- 20:30Are you ready for number 23?
- 20:32Number 23 is alignment protects the energy instead
- 20:34of draining it.
- 20:37So, when we're aligned, we don't feel tired,
- 20:46okay?
- 20:53That's an interesting thing, guys.
- 21:02Very, very important thing.
- 21:05And maybe you're going to say to me,
- 21:06John, you know, this doesn't make sense.
- 21:08But I'm here to tell you something.
- 21:10It does make sense.
- 21:23It makes sense because of our alignment for
- 21:25who we are and what we do.
- 21:29Alignment is not something that we just grab
- 21:33out of the air.
- 21:35Alignment is something that we actually tune into.
- 21:40Very similar to tuning into a radio station,
- 21:42right?
- 21:42I'm sure you know what I mean by
- 21:44that.
- 21:45All the signals in life are always present
- 21:48every single day, okay?
- 21:53Every single day.
- 21:58And if this happens every single day and
- 22:01we learn that we can actually pivot, right?
- 22:06Some people get scared because it's different.
- 22:12Other people, well, get scared.
- 22:16But really, they're not scared.
- 22:18They're excited about where they're going, and they're
- 22:21confused.
- 22:24Number 24, guys.
- 22:26You do not need to sacrifice yourself to
- 22:29succeed.
- 22:30You don't need to be a martyr, guys.
- 22:33As much as you think you have to
- 22:35be, you do not.
- 22:45Does that make sense?
- 22:57I think if we can understand these things,
- 23:04then maybe we can change them.
- 23:08I said to you guys once before, when
- 23:10we learn things, and we learn how to
- 23:12measure them, we can change them.
- 23:14Peace is productive, number 25, and it enables
- 23:17deep focus in our lives.
- 23:19Number 26, alignment feels grounded and steady.
- 23:27Number 27, success should support life, not replace
- 23:33it.
- 23:34As much as you might get confused with
- 23:36some people, okay?
- 23:38It's important.
- 23:40Number 28, calm wins long-term by compounding
- 23:45wisely.
- 23:46Number 29, inner peace attracts opportunity and trust.
- 23:52Number 30, alignment is the ultimate edge in
- 23:56life and leadership.
- 23:58This is inspirational for your life, guys.
- 24:00I give you the keys, the tips, and
- 24:04the techniques to improve the quality of life.
- 24:07Now, I can suggest that you go to
- 24:10the water and drink it, but I'm not
- 24:11here to make you drink the water.
- 24:13If the water doesn't resonate with you, I
- 24:16don't want you to drink it.
- 24:17I don't want it to be part of
- 24:17you, but if it does make a difference
- 24:21to you, I want you to drink as
- 24:23much water as you can.
- 24:25I want you to soak up all this
- 24:27knowledge.
- 24:27I want you to learn it.
- 24:29I want you to not only do it,
- 24:31but make it part of your life so
- 24:33it happens autonomously.
- 24:38Good habits that are autonomous are good for
- 24:40our well-being.
- 24:42I think that's a real key, all right?
- 24:49Habits that work a certain way are pretty
- 24:51amazing, okay?
- 24:58Does that make sense?
- 24:59I'm hoping it does, all right?
- 25:02I'm hoping that it really does.
- 25:10I know you're saying to me, John, this
- 25:13isn't working at the moment.
- 25:16Maybe you're not in alignment today, and that's
- 25:19okay, but the fact that you want to
- 25:24become in alignment with your desire, your ambitions,
- 25:30and your choice to measure and change even
- 25:33one thing can bring you into alignment, right?
- 25:39When we think about music and tuning, right,
- 25:42different notes for those of you that do
- 25:43music, we can understand that when we get
- 25:47the note in resonance with the perfect pitch,
- 25:51sounds great.
- 25:54When somebody's out of pitch, like even singing,
- 25:56it's a big problem.
- 25:57Ladies and gentlemen, this has been Inspirations for
- 26:02Your Life.

- 26:33things are going, and other people that are
- 26:36not.
- 26:40Does that make sense?

- 26:47Oh, by the way, I'm John Seymourly, a
- 26:50serial entrepreneur, and I'm reminding you this evening

- 26:57Yes, peace creates clarity, and you know what
- 27:02clarity does?
- 27:03Clarity creates lasting success.

- 28:50I also would like to do a trip
- 28:51to Alaska or somewhere else.
