- 0:06hundred point SEVENBUFLA thirty five thirty six minutes now passed the hours the Morning Show
- 0:17Thursday on the program on Preston, Good to have you with me this morning.
- 0:21Grand Allen over there running the show and joining us on the program.
- 0:25State Senator District eleven from the Sunshine State Senator blazeing Goolia, Good morning,
- 0:31sir, how are you? Good morning? I back back in December before
- 0:37we went on a little break, we had a guy named Justin Haskins on
- 0:40the program. He's a regular guest, and he broke the news on the
- 0:45show that he did a survey with Rasmussen and it showed that one in five
- 0:51people that used mail in voting in the last election admitted to committing election fraud,
- 0:58though they didn't know necessarily that they we're committing fraud. How is that
- 1:02impacting legislation this year? Is that issue being taken seriously by your cohorts?
- 1:10Well, I think that issue is being taken seriously by me, and that's
- 1:14why I propose the bill to basically do away with non excuse vote by mail
- 1:19balloting, So that is part of the reason. Another reason is we've seen
- 1:23not one, but two election to overturn just this past year where the judge
- 1:29specifically cited vote by mail fraud. And you know, this is the thing
- 1:34that the media never tells anyone, is that you know, there have been
- 1:38people indicted for vote by mail schemes in Connecticut and Texas, New York,
- 1:42New Jersey. It's happening all over the United States. What we fundamentally have
- 1:47to understand here is that when you vote in person, that is by far
- 1:52the safest way of voting. That's so you know, the person who is
- 1:56actually casting ballot is the one authorized to cast that ballot. Any thing outside
- 2:00of that comes with the degree of fraud, degree of misfeason's, degree of
- 2:04mouthfeasons, degree of error. So what we're doing when we do vote by
- 2:07mail is we are tolerating that degree of fraud. So what my bill does
- 2:13does away with non excuse vote by mailing mean you can just do anywhere and
- 2:17to think that we can have ten hundreds millions of ballots just flying all over
- 2:23the place in the mail and somehow that is secure. I mean, by
- 2:27the time you fill out a ballot and it actually is counted. If it's
- 2:30counted, you've had maybe a dozen or two dozen people actually touch that ballot
- 2:36beside the voter. So what my bill does is it has everyone go vote
- 2:40back in person. Now, we expand early voting over and above what we
- 2:44have right now, so there's more opportunities to vote in person. But I
- 2:47truly think that twenty years from now, we're going to be sitting back looking
- 2:52at this time and say, hey, did you remember when everyone in the
- 2:53United States used to have these mail ballots flying over the place. Well,
- 2:58that wasn't safe. I think that's where we're headed, and I like to
- 3:00start having a conversation that is not an optimal way to run elections. We
- 3:06got about a minute left in this segment before we come back. What's the
- 3:09appetite for it? First in your chamber, secondly on the other side of
- 3:14the House. So the Senate President has said that it's a no go,
- 3:21and the Speaker of the House also said it was a no goo based upon
- 3:24what the Senate President said, But I don't think they actually understood what was
- 3:30being proposed. I think they were listening to media reports because I will tell
- 3:32you Almost every single Senator or a House member that I've had conversations with about
- 3:39this bill, once they hear all the components, they go, well,
- 3:43that actually makes sense. So I'm continuing to have the conversation. I'm not
- 3:47afraid to file bills to start the conversation because I think we need to change
- 3:53and go back to in person early voting. Dizzy from the spin, don't
- 3:57know what to believe? Clear the fog. The Morning Show with Preston Scott
- 4:01on News Radio one hundred point seven WFLA. We talked about Senate Bill seventeen
- 4:10fifty two with Sal Newso of JMI on Monday rather Tuesday this past week.
- 4:15Each and every Monday we do a legislative update. It's a hugely important bill.
- 4:19The sponsor state Senator Blazengolia with me. Let's talk a little bit about
- 4:26the nuts and bolts here of that survey. First, how important is it
- 4:30to your cause to make sure that members of the House and Senate are seeing
- 4:35the results of that that one in five, I mean, we're talking about
- 4:40better than ten million voters admitted that they engaged in voter fraud. It's important
- 4:47because you know, you hear the narrative from the left and even from a
- 4:50lot of Republicans that voter fraud does not exist. So when you have something
- 4:57as powerful as that survey self admitting that they have admitted some sort of voting
- 5:00fraud, now let's be clear, Like you alluded to, not many of
- 5:04them understood what they were actually doing, but some of them did. You
- 5:08know, when you're taking grandma's ballot and you're filling it out and grandma doesn't
- 5:12see it and you send it in, that is voter fraud. That is
- 5:15a prosecutable crime. And that's what a lot of people have done. A
- 5:18lot of people just need to understand that the media narrative, and we've been
- 5:25lied to by the mainstream media for decades now isn't what it portrays to be
- 5:30when it comes to vote by mail and surveys like that are very important because
- 5:34it opens people's eyes and it helps with the reasoning of why we put up
- 5:40an important bill like this. I'm a big fan, Senator of find the
- 5:45most effective thing to do, then find the most efficient way to do it.
- 5:47Sometimes I think a lot of people invert that. So if we're asking
- 5:53people, because we've got listeners across the state. We have listeners obviously in
- 5:56the big men in the Panhandle, but we have folks listening to us on
- 5:59I Heart Radio that tune in to hear these types of interviews on our podcast.
- 6:04What's the most effective thing for a listener to do that supports the idea
- 6:09of limiting voting by mail to true excused reasons versus what we saw happen last
- 6:15time around. Is it to reach out to leadership, to the Senate,
- 6:17President Pasadomo, to House Speaker Renter, or is it to reach out to
- 6:21their district reps. Yeah, I don't think reaching out to the president or
- 6:27the speaker is the correct thing. I think they just need to start asking
- 6:31the questions and having those conversations with their state reps to start thinking about that,
- 6:35because vote by mail is actually in person, is the truest form and
- 6:41the most secure form. But also talk about the money savings which nobody talks
- 6:45about, just the tens of millions of dollars that local supervisors of elections are
- 6:50going to save by not having the postal that post to charge the amount of
- 6:57money campaigns are going to save. They don't have to raise as much money
- 7:00and be beholden to the donors, because now you'll have a window of two
- 7:05and a half weeks before an election, not a window of two and a
- 7:09half months where they're spending all this money. So we can save money,
- 7:12we can have secure elections. That is just common sense, that makes sense.
- 7:15That is a win win win, and we just got to have this
- 7:19start. We have to start the conversation with other elected officials so they understand
- 7:25this and they understand that is the will of the people that we want to
- 7:28go back to in person voting because we want to have faith in our elections.
- 7:32Right now, we have a lack of faith in our elections. We
- 7:35don't know when we stick that ballot into a USPS box or a dropbox that
- 7:42their vote's actually going to be counted. It goes and we just hope it
- 7:45is. Let's stop hoping, let's stop praying that we have absolutely one hundred
- 7:48percent secure elections, and let's do it. Is there any fallback position?
- 7:53We know the sausage making gets done. You know that far better than I
- 7:57know that. But is there one that says, Okay, if if we're
- 8:00not going to entertain what we maybe should be doing, let's at least require
- 8:05a notary, Let's let's get some verification process in place. I would say
- 8:11no, I would say the fallback position is to have it the most secure,
- 8:16because then if you start so, what we keep on doing is we
- 8:20keep on putting band aids on a system. Sure that really isn't the safest.
- 8:26So let's stop with the band aids. Let's fix it. Senator,
- 8:28thanks for what you're doing. Keep fighting the good fight, and let us
- 8:33know if we can help you. Got to take care, guys, Thank
- 8:35you, sir, you a state senator. Sorry Blazeingolia District eleven in flour
- 8:43How much sense does that make? So call he's asked, don't don't email
- 8:50and ring the phone off the hook of Speaker Renner and President Pasadomo. Go
- 8:56to your your state senators and your state representatives who represent you, Email them,
- 9:03phone them, meet with them. Make the argument it is Senate Bill
- 9:09seventeen fifty two. Tell them you want to limit and put an end to
- 9:13the rampant fraud of mail in voting. We know it's happening. It's forty
- 9:18six minutes past the hour.
