- Lucas: Hey there, and welcome back to Learn Spanish with Fexingo. I'm Lucas, and I'm here with my friend Luna. Luna: Hi everyone! And guess what — this is episode 200. Can you believe we've made it this far? Lucas: I know, it's amazing. And we couldn't have done it without all of you listening. So first, a quick thank you. If you've been with us from the beginning, this is a big milestone. Luna: Totally. And if you're new, welcome. You're jumping in at a great time. Lucas: So today, to celebrate, we're going to talk about something that's been happening a lot lately around here — rain. Lots of rain. Luna: Oh, for sure. It's been pouring. So let's learn some phrases to talk about a rainy day in Spanish. Lucas: Perfect. Let's start with the basics. The first phrase is: Está lloviendo. Está lloviendo. Luna: Está lloviendo. That means 'it's raining', right? Lucas: Exactly. Está lloviendo. Can you say it with me? Está lloviendo. Luna: Está lloviendo. Está lloviendo. Okay, I think I've got that. Lucas: Great. Now, when it's raining, sometimes we say: Hace mal tiempo. Hace mal tiempo. Luna: Hace mal tiempo. That's 'bad weather'. So like, when it's raining and cold, you'd say that. Lucas: Yes, exactly. Hace mal tiempo. And you might want to say: Voy a quedarme en casa. Voy a quedarme en casa. Luna: Voy a quedarme en casa. That means 'I'm going to stay home'. Oh, that's a good one. Because when it's raining, you just want to stay inside. Lucas: Right. So maybe you need: Necesito un paraguas. Necesito un paraguas. Luna: Necesito un paraguas. 'I need an umbrella.' Oh, I always forget my umbrella. Lucas: We've all been there. And finally, for those who like the rain: Me gusta la lluvia. Me gusta la lluvia. Luna: Me gusta la lluvia. 'I like the rain.' That's a nice one. I actually do like the rain sometimes, especially when I'm inside with a book. Lucas: That's a perfect image. So let's review all the phrases we've learned today. We have: Está lloviendo, Hace mal tiempo, Voy a quedarme en casa, Necesito un paraguas, and Me gusta la lluvia. Luna: That's a lot! But they're all useful. Let's try to use them in a little scene. Imagine I'm looking out the window. I say: Está lloviendo. Hace mal tiempo. Lucas: And then you decide: Voy a quedarme en casa. Necesito un paraguas. Or maybe you don't need it if you're staying home. Luna: Right, I don't need one if I'm staying home. But if I have to go out, then I need it. So: Necesito un paraguas. Lucas: And if you're like me, you might say: Me gusta la lluvia. Even if it's bad weather, there's something cozy about it. Luna: Yeah, I agree. So before we go, let's just say them one more time. Está lloviendo. Hace mal tiempo. Voy a quedarme en casa. Necesito un paraguas. Me gusta la lluvia. Lucas: Perfect.
