- 2:22Speaker 4: big event that's going to be going on next Thursday
- 2:25Speaker 4: night at the Putnam Career and Technical Center which is
- 2:27Speaker 4: in Eleanor. It's called the Hometown Advantage Career Fair and
- 2:31Speaker 4: it's a joint project between the Putnam County Development Authority
- 2:35Speaker 4: and the Putnam Career and Technical Center. Morgan Tenney is
- 2:38Speaker 4: the executive director of the Development Authority and she joins
- 2:40Speaker 4: us this morning long with CD Caldwell, who's the director
- 2:43Speaker 4: of Career in Technical Education in Putnam County Schools. Good
- 2:47Speaker 4: morning and welcome to both you folks.
- 2:51Speaker 6: New morning days.
- 2:52Speaker 5: Hello sir, how are you doing today?
- 2:54Speaker 4: I am doing fine. Thank you both for being here today. Now,
- 2:57Speaker 4: the prevailing my said, guys, has been that you have
- 3:02Speaker 4: to leave West Virginia to have a good career, and
- 3:05Speaker 4: you hope to prove otherwise. Morgan, I want to start
- 3:08Speaker 4: with you. You spent a lot of time in schools, and
- 3:09Speaker 4: we know CD obviously does more on him a little bit.
- 3:12Speaker 4: We would you agree that that has been right or
- 3:15Speaker 4: wrong a popular opinion in the past, Morgan, that you
- 3:18Speaker 4: have to leave West Virginia in order to have a
- 3:20Speaker 4: good career.
- 3:22Speaker 6: Absolutely, we've noticed that so many young people and even
- 3:26Speaker 6: folks my age have left the state because they feel
- 3:29Speaker 6: like they need to have a good paying job outside
- 3:32Speaker 6: of West Virginia, or maybe they go to university outside
- 3:35Speaker 6: of the state and then they never come home. But
- 3:38Speaker 6: what's interesting, David, with our work in economic development, we
- 3:42Speaker 6: meet frequently with existing businesses located in Putnam County and
- 3:47Speaker 6: around the state, and they all have the same need.
- 3:50Speaker 6: They all need a skilled workforce. But when we would
- 3:54Speaker 6: turn around and go into our school system and meet
- 3:57Speaker 6: with some of our students, we'd ask them what do
- 3:59Speaker 6: you want to do when you graduate, and typically they
- 4:01Speaker 6: would give you some answer about how they're going to
- 4:03Speaker 6: leave and hope to be successful elsewhere. So we realized
- 4:08Speaker 6: it's really not an opportunity problem. Because there are so
- 4:11Speaker 6: many opportunities for good paying jobs here in West Virginia.
- 4:15Speaker 6: It's a communication problem. So that's why we're partnering with
- 4:18Speaker 6: Putnam County Schools and Putnam Career and Technical Center to
- 4:21Speaker 6: just bring awareness to the fact that you do not
- 4:24Speaker 6: have to leave West Virginia for a good paying career.
- 4:26Speaker 4: And ce D I'll ask the same question of you,
- 4:28Speaker 4: have you seen that in your experience in the past.
- 4:30Speaker 4: Like Morgan said that the misconception and some points is
- 4:33Speaker 4: that that students have to leave in order to get
- 4:37Speaker 4: a good paying job.
- 4:39Speaker 5: I first started at the Putt and Career and Technical
- 4:41Speaker 5: Center about eight nine years ago. When I first got there,
- 4:45Speaker 5: there were certain jobs that we were training for that
- 4:49Speaker 5: there wasn't much job opportunity in our area. So, you know,
- 4:52Speaker 5: I'm helping students try to find out where they can
- 4:54Speaker 5: go to do the job they want to do. Today,
- 4:58Speaker 5: the jobs are here, the jobs are around us. Part
- 5:02Speaker 5: of our job is helping find these students' jobs, how
- 5:05Speaker 5: to find post secondary education for them to get the
- 5:11Speaker 5: job they want. The jobs are here. Last year, our
- 5:15Speaker 5: students in our work based learning program made almost a
- 5:18Speaker 5: million dollars from January to June in our work based
- 5:22Speaker 5: learning program that we have for high school students.
- 5:26Speaker 4: It's and I'll tell you you know, I have seen
- 5:29Speaker 4: the work that you folks do out there at the
- 5:32Speaker 4: Career Technical Center in Eleanor and Putnam County, and it's
- 5:35Speaker 4: absolutely amazing. You're you're turning out some really good quality people,
- 5:39Speaker 4: and then we hope that we can keep them here.
- 5:41Speaker 4: And there's plenty of opportunities for them to stay here,
- 5:43Speaker 4: because here's what I found, guys. And I've spent time
- 5:46Speaker 4: at public schools, you know, talking to young students, whether
- 5:48Speaker 4: I was doing the Get a Life program Morgan that
- 5:50Speaker 4: you're very familiar with through the Treasurer's office and the
- 5:52Speaker 4: Putnam Chamber and some of these different things. When I
- 5:54Speaker 4: was in state government as well. It's spent a lot
- 5:56Speaker 4: of time in schools, and you talk to a lot
- 5:57Speaker 4: of these young people. Many of the actually don't want
- 6:01Speaker 4: to leave West Virginia. They actually like it here, whether
- 6:05Speaker 4: they're the outdoors type or whatever the case may be,
- 6:07Speaker 4: their families here, they don't always want to go away.
- 6:09Speaker 4: And I think it's it's a good point, Morgan that
- 6:12Speaker 4: you bring up that sometimes it's a communication issue. Is
- 6:15Speaker 4: that they think these things aren't available, but they are
- 6:17Speaker 4: available as you as you guys have talked about Morgan.
- 6:21Speaker 6: Yeah, absolutely, And to highlight someoning, CD said, you know,
- 6:26Speaker 6: what someone grows up thinking they want to do may
- 6:29Speaker 6: not be something they can do in West Virginia. You know,
- 6:32Speaker 6: they if they want to get into for some reason. Dave,
- 6:35Speaker 6: it seems like so many of our young ladies wanted
- 6:38Speaker 6: to be marine biologists. When I ask them, I'm like,
- 6:41Speaker 6: I don't know where this is coming from, but you're
- 6:44Speaker 6: more than likely not going to be a marine biologist
- 6:47Speaker 6: and landlocked mountain state here. But what we're trying to
- 6:51Speaker 6: do in this collaboration with Hometown Advantage is tell our
- 6:54Speaker 6: young people and their families what careers are here, so
- 6:58Speaker 6: at a younger age they can start thinking about what
- 7:02Speaker 6: is available. And again to CD's point, if we're teaching
- 7:05Speaker 6: for things that aren't here, then we're basically exporting our talent.
- 7:09Speaker 6: So what we want to do is we want to
- 7:10Speaker 6: educate them for what's in right in our backyard. And
- 7:14Speaker 6: that's why we have such great collaboration with Toyota, for example,
- 7:19Speaker 6: with like the four T program, which is production for
- 7:22Speaker 6: high school students. And then we have the same program
- 7:25Speaker 6: that's skilled maintenance at a post secondary level. We're trying
- 7:29Speaker 6: to show our local residents that there are good paying careers.
- 7:34Speaker 6: It may just not be you know, I think I've
- 7:37Speaker 6: said this to you before, Dave. It may not be
- 7:39Speaker 6: what you thought you were going to grow up to be, right,
- 7:41Speaker 6: but there are good paying careers that are here.
- 7:44Speaker 4: We're talking again with Morgan, Tenny and CD callwell and
- 7:46Speaker 4: we're going to get to their actual event that they have,
- 7:48Speaker 4: which is coming up next week. Do you want to
- 7:49Speaker 4: remind you of at the day Violence Hill in five
- 7:51Speaker 4: eighty Live is brought to you in part by Morgan
- 7:53Speaker 4: and Morgan, America's largest injury law firm. If they're injured,
- 7:56Speaker 4: visit for the people dot com. All right, So next
- 7:59Speaker 4: week big event Thursday the twenty third, five until eight
- 8:02Speaker 4: at the Career of Tech Center in Elador. And this
- 8:05Speaker 4: has gone on for how many gears? CD, This is
- 8:08Speaker 4: this thing going on?
- 8:09Speaker 5: This is the second annual event.
- 8:11Speaker 4: Okay, I thought we did. I thought it was older
- 8:13Speaker 4: than I apologize. So this is the second one.
- 8:14Speaker 5: We've been doing career fairs for years. We'd have them
- 8:18Speaker 5: in the middle of today and the employers weren't getting
- 8:21Speaker 5: what they wanted the students. It wasn't what I for
- 8:27Speaker 5: wanted it to be. I wanted something with community engagement.
- 8:30Speaker 5: I wanted something for the students that really wanted to
- 8:33Speaker 5: invest their time talking to employers to have a space.
- 8:37Speaker 5: I wanted a place for those students to bring their families,
- 8:40Speaker 5: just not our current students. We had middle school pairs
- 8:43Speaker 5: bringing their students last year to not only talk to employers,
- 8:46Speaker 5: but to go in our classrooms. Our classrooms is going
- 8:48Speaker 5: to be open, so that way kind of shows full
- 8:51Speaker 5: circle of you know, training at our school and then
- 8:55Speaker 5: being able to talk to employers about, you know, what
- 8:57Speaker 5: skills they need. So with the help of those Development
- 9:01Speaker 5: authority and us, we've turned this into a community event
- 9:04Speaker 5: that's good for everyone in our region. Just not putting count.
- 9:08Speaker 4: And again it's going to be next Thursday night from
- 9:10Speaker 4: five until eight to the Career in Tech Center in Elbador.
- 9:12Speaker 4: And you've extended it an hour, right, because didn't it
- 9:14Speaker 4: in last year at seven?
- 9:16Speaker 6: It did? Yeah, So we we kicked this off last
- 9:19Speaker 6: year and we had it from five to seven. But
- 9:22Speaker 6: what was amazing, Dave, we had over fifty local companies
- 9:26Speaker 6: attend who were actively hiring. They all had a position
- 9:30Speaker 6: that needed filled. So we knew that we had great
- 9:33Speaker 6: employer work and employer turnout, but we didn't know how
- 9:37Speaker 6: many people were going to show up that were going
- 9:39Speaker 6: to be job seekers. And what was incredible was in
- 9:41Speaker 6: a two hour time span we had over twelve hundred
- 9:44Speaker 6: people come through the door at the Career and Technical Center.
- 9:47Speaker 6: I mean, we were just blown away. So we realized
- 9:49Speaker 6: this year, okay, we've got am things up a little bit.
- 9:52Speaker 6: We're extending an hour. We have a Family Fund zone.
- 9:55Speaker 6: This year, we noticed a few people had to bring
- 9:57Speaker 6: their kids along. Kids are absolutely welcome, and we actually
- 10:01Speaker 6: have an entire area that's going to be available for
- 10:04Speaker 6: them with a bounce house, thanks to Family Wealth Group
- 10:07Speaker 6: for sponsoring that. So we're trying to expand upon our
- 10:11Speaker 6: year last year. And you know, Dave, I've I've got
- 10:16Speaker 6: a compliment CD here, He'll punch me across the table.
- 10:19Speaker 6: But you know, I'm a graduate of a Putnam County
- 10:23Speaker 6: High school and I never stuck foot in Putnam Career
- 10:26Speaker 6: and Technical Center as a student. So the fact that
- 10:30Speaker 6: we have students that are interviewing that want to go
- 10:33Speaker 6: to Putnam Career and Technical Center and maybe even a
- 10:36Speaker 6: waiting list for some of the classes at Putnam Career
- 10:39Speaker 6: and Technical Center just shows the change in that perception
- 10:43Speaker 6: over the last twenty years, and I just want to
- 10:46Speaker 6: commend him for that. But this also serves us an
- 10:48Speaker 6: open house, as he mentioned, so even for people who
- 10:52Speaker 6: just want to know what it looks like like, come
- 10:54Speaker 6: see a welding class, comes see the carpentry class like.
- 10:57Speaker 6: It doesn't have to be just for jobs seekers. It
- 11:00Speaker 6: can be anybody who's just wanting to understand what we
- 11:04Speaker 6: have in our community at the Career and Tech Center,
- 11:06Speaker 6: and then also what do we have in our region
- 11:09Speaker 6: in terms of available careers.
- 11:11Speaker 4: And again, the event is going to be next Thursday night.
- 11:13Speaker 4: I will mention that our sister stations Superstar Country ninety
- 11:16Speaker 4: six to one KWUS will be broadcasting live from there.
- 11:18Speaker 4: I am going to be doing the duties next week
- 11:20Speaker 4: there in Eleanor broadcasting on KWS. So I'm certainly looking
- 11:24Speaker 4: forward to it. Now, if you're an employer, can you
- 11:26Speaker 4: still sign up to be there?
- 11:28Speaker 6: Absolutely, we would love for you to sign up. You
- 11:31Speaker 6: can do it at PCDA dot org slash hometown Advantage.
- 11:35Speaker 6: It is free and that's thanks to a partnership between
- 11:40Speaker 6: Putnam County Schools and Putnam County Development Authority and those
- 11:44Speaker 6: who invest in us DAVE. So this is free and
- 11:46Speaker 6: not only for employers to come, but also for any
- 11:50Speaker 6: job seekers or anybody in the community that wants to come.
- 11:52Speaker 6: Everything is free.
- 11:54Speaker 5: We're not going to some things we experienced last year.
- 11:56Speaker 5: We're not going to run off flyers and stuff last minute.
- 12:00Speaker 5: So if a business wants to come in last minute,
- 12:03Speaker 5: let us know two o'clock day up. We'll take everyone
- 12:06Speaker 5: to find a place for you. Last year, we have
- 12:09Speaker 5: people parking at the Pickley Wiggley and we're gonna have
- 12:12Speaker 5: shuttle parking set up. We're gonna have school buses designated
- 12:15Speaker 5: and runs people between the GW schools and our parking lots,
- 12:20Speaker 5: so we'll have shuttles available. We're gonna have food. We
- 12:23Speaker 5: usually like to have food, so our pro Start class
- 12:27Speaker 5: is going to be having a nacho bar set up,
- 12:30Speaker 5: so there'll be snacks and stuff. One of the reason
- 12:33Speaker 5: we're running from five to eight is there's a lot
- 12:36Speaker 5: of practices and stuff going on in Putnam County and
- 12:38Speaker 5: a lot of students weren't able to make it because
- 12:40Speaker 5: of practices. Hopefully by extending it eight o'clock, we'll catch
- 12:43Speaker 5: a tael into some of those students that will be
- 12:46Speaker 5: able to come over with their families and talk to
- 12:48Speaker 5: different organizations.
- 12:49Speaker 4: All right, guys, I'm looking forward to it, and we'll
- 12:52Speaker 4: be talking about it between now and then with The
- 12:54Speaker 4: event is next Thursday night, that's twenty third, from five
- 12:57Speaker 4: until day that the Career and Technical Center in Eleanor,
- 13:00Speaker 4: right on the main drag there. You cannot miss it,
- 13:02Speaker 4: and it's from five until a and again our sister
- 13:05Speaker 4: station KWS. I'll I'll be putting on the cowboy hat
- 13:08Speaker 4: that night because I'm going to be there broadcasting live
- 13:09Speaker 4: in Superstar Country. KWS. Looking forward to seeing both of
- 13:12Speaker 4: you there and we'll talk again soon. Thanks a lot, guys,
- 13:15Speaker 4: great work.
- 13:16Speaker 6: Thanks Dave. Looking forward to seeing you in cowboy hat.
- 13:20Speaker 4: All right, thank you guys, ceed caledwell and again morgantin.
- 13:24Speaker 4: It is a great event, by the way, and again
- 13:26Speaker 4: last year was the first year they did it, and
- 13:27Speaker 4: I was there last year as well, and I mean
- 13:29Speaker 4: there were people everywhere, and he's not exaggerating, and you know,
- 13:33Speaker 4: Eleanor is not that big of a place. Okay, they're
- 13:36Speaker 4: not exaggerating when they say that they had to run. Well.
- 13:39Speaker 4: This year they're doing shuttles. They had people parked everywhere there.
- 13:43Speaker 4: Last year, I mean a couple thousand people came through
- 13:45Speaker 4: the door. And again it's not that big of a
- 13:47Speaker 4: facility anyway, So we want to try to get many
- 13:50Speaker 4: people there. But if it keeps up like it is,
- 13:52Speaker 4: they may have to look at maybe doing it over
- 13:54Speaker 4: a couple of days, or maybe doing it, you know,
- 13:57Speaker 4: longer timeframe or something. But I don't know. It's gonna
- 13:59Speaker 4: be a great event. And again, it will be telling
- 14:01Speaker 4: you more about it as we get a little bit closer.

- 16:39Speaker 4: three four five fifty eight fifty eight, Tony the Taylor
- 16:42Speaker 4: Text three zero four nine three five five zero zero.
- 16:45Speaker 4: And I want to introduce you now to a couple
- 16:46Speaker 4: of guys in our studio this morning. Larry Jackson, who's
- 16:49Speaker 4: a candidate for Congress and district won of Dick Keller.
- 16:51Speaker 4: They call him the average just the average dude. Now, Larry,
- 16:55Speaker 4: want to start with you because because we're going to
- 16:58Speaker 4: get to your candidacy here in a month. But I'm
- 17:00Speaker 4: gonna talk about this Second Amendment tour. You've been on
- 17:04Speaker 4: a big event held last night at the Marriott's And
- 17:07Speaker 4: actually I will switch gears and Dick, I'm gonna go
- 17:08Speaker 4: to you first. Talk about this movement. Why is this
- 17:12Speaker 4: in the Second Amendment movement? Why is it so important
- 17:14Speaker 4: to you?
- 17:15Speaker 13: Is it so important?
- 17:16Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 17:17Speaker 13: Oh boy? Well, I used to live across the street
- 17:22Speaker 13: in Washington, d C. Still live in the same place
- 17:25Speaker 13: for forty nine years, but it used to be an
- 17:27Speaker 13: infamous drug den on Capitol Hill, just a dozen blocks
- 17:32Speaker 13: behind the Capitol Building. And two things. I had a
- 17:37Speaker 13: couple of bullet holes in my house. I figured, gee,
- 17:41Speaker 13: it'd be nice to be armed. And then at two
- 17:45Speaker 13: o'clock every morning, sixteen rounds of nine millimeter went off
- 17:50Speaker 13: to indicate the close of drug trade for the day.
- 17:55Speaker 13: And I'd been a paratrooper and didn't have a gun,
- 17:59Speaker 13: and the city he passed a law that says you
- 18:01Speaker 13: couldn't have a gun. So I figured maybe I should
- 18:05Speaker 13: go get my first gun. So when I started this fight,
- 18:09Speaker 13: I wasn't even I was a sub average gun dude.
- 18:13Speaker 13: And then I went and bought a gun. So my
- 18:15Speaker 13: motto is now I am an average gun dude.
- 18:18Speaker 4: Average dude, I think you might be above average with
- 18:20Speaker 4: all of this, all this thing that that that you've
- 18:23Speaker 4: been working on, and talk about the tour, what exactly
- 18:25Speaker 4: has gone on, because you guys have been all over
- 18:27Speaker 4: the place. They had an event at to Mary out
- 18:28Speaker 4: last night, and Larry, I'm not going to leave you out.
- 18:30Speaker 4: I promise I'm gonna get to you here one one second.
- 18:32Speaker 4: But talk about this tour and what you hope to
- 18:34Speaker 4: accomplish and where you ban break it down for us.
- 18:38Speaker 13: Well, what's interesting? Larry's the master on that, But what
- 18:42Speaker 13: what I do recognize is that from my knowledge of voting,
- 18:48Speaker 13: people need to know what a man stands for instead
- 18:51Speaker 13: of just pulling the party lever, and they need to
- 18:56Speaker 13: know that somebody stands for their values, not just because
- 19:00Speaker 13: they're in office, but they need to be booted out
- 19:04Speaker 13: of office by people that have the real same standards,
- 19:07Speaker 13: constitutional standards that most of us have. So when I
- 19:13Speaker 13: found out that Larry had been lawfared big term in DC.
- 19:17Speaker 13: I don't know if it is out here, but Larry
- 19:20Speaker 13: got law lawfared.
- 19:22Speaker 4: And explain what lawfair it is for those?
- 19:24Speaker 13: Okay, lawfairs when you take the force of government and
- 19:29Speaker 13: inappropriately use it against your opponents or somebody that's against
- 19:35Speaker 13: your agenda. So Larry is a first and second and
- 19:40Speaker 13: fourth Amendment agenda dude. He's a constitutionalist. And when I
- 19:44Speaker 13: found out he had been lawfired, he had been unjust
- 19:51Speaker 13: unjustifiably labeled, and I figured something I can I got
- 19:59Speaker 13: to this guy had been Larry.
- 20:01Speaker 4: I'll let you jump in if you want. How do
- 20:03Speaker 4: you feel you were unfairly labeled? What happened?
- 20:05Speaker 9: Well?
- 20:06Speaker 14: I have been fighting with the West Virginia dn R
- 20:09Speaker 14: for the last two years now. My home was raided,
- 20:13Speaker 14: a fourth Amendment was violated, took my phone, took the
- 20:18Speaker 14: deer that I harvested, and this is drug out now
- 20:22Speaker 14: for two years, and it was all because of a
- 20:24Speaker 14: couple of anonymous calls.
- 20:26Speaker 4: So a lot of lies. Now, what was their reason
- 20:29Speaker 4: for doing this? I mean, obviously you feel it was unjustified,
- 20:32Speaker 4: and I get that, but what was their reasoning behind it?
- 20:34Speaker 14: Their reasoning behind it was that the anonymous callers called
- 20:39Speaker 14: in that I killed this deer with a rifle in
- 20:41Speaker 14: the bow on the county. So it was all lies.
- 20:45Speaker 4: There is proof.
- 20:46Speaker 14: I have the proof that you know, the injury they
- 20:50Speaker 14: were saying was a rifle wound that killed the animal.
- 20:53Speaker 14: The animal was walking around with two days prior with
- 20:56Speaker 14: that same injury. I've got pictures of it. So you
- 21:00Speaker 14: know the eighty thousand that I've spent in the last
- 21:03Speaker 14: two years fighting this for the people. It wasn't about me.
- 21:06Speaker 14: They wanted me to walk away with a twenty dollars
- 21:08Speaker 14: guilty plea and be done. But it took them four
- 21:13Speaker 14: months of sitting and searching through my phone illegally to
- 21:17Speaker 14: come up with anything, and they eventually charged me with
- 21:19Speaker 14: hunting without a license again, This was a fact that
- 21:22Speaker 14: I fought for all West Virginians. It wasn't for me.
- 21:28Speaker 14: I knew I didn't do anything wrong. So I want
- 21:30Speaker 14: to stop this, stop this type of stuff from happening
- 21:33Speaker 14: to other folks.
- 21:34Speaker 4: So this is why you decided to run.
- 21:36Speaker 14: No, No, it's there's a lot as far as running.
- 21:41Speaker 14: I'm from Wyoming County. We have a major water issue there.
- 21:46Speaker 14: People can't get clean water, clean drinking water. The roads
- 21:49Speaker 14: are falling apart, there is no jobs. The coal industry
- 21:55Speaker 14: is you know, coal is coal. When it's good, it's good.
- 21:57Speaker 14: When it's bad, it's bad. We need to bring more
- 22:00Speaker 14: jobs into southern West Virginia. We need to fix the infrastructure.
- 22:03Speaker 14: We need to be listening to what people are saying.
- 22:06Speaker 14: And I feel I'm the best person for that job.
- 22:08Speaker 4: Give me some of your backgrounds, some of your bride
- 22:10Speaker 4: I mean, other than this story, I mean, just who
- 22:12Speaker 4: is Larry Jackson's well, talk about you as a person.
- 22:14Speaker 14: I grew up born and raised Wyoming County.
- 22:17Speaker 4: Well, part of Mioming County if you don't mind, ma
- 22:18Speaker 4: own hanover. Okay, I know it well.
- 22:23Speaker 14: So I was born and raised in Wyoming County, like
- 22:26Speaker 14: most in southern West Virginia at or near the poverty line.
- 22:31Speaker 14: So I know what it's like to go to bed Hungary.
- 22:33Speaker 14: I know what it's like to worry about getting bills paid.
- 22:37Speaker 14: I worked hard to come out of that. I now
- 22:40Speaker 14: own a business, Eastern Equipment. I run a successful business,
- 22:45Speaker 14: and I never forget where I came from or what
- 22:50Speaker 14: I came from. I have six children, been married for
- 22:54Speaker 14: twenty three years to my high school sweetheart. Together we
- 22:58Speaker 14: have six children. And again, you know, I'm not a politician.
- 23:04Speaker 14: I am doing what the people are wanting done, and
- 23:07Speaker 14: the people are not happy.
- 23:09Speaker 4: And Dick SoundBite. I love that. And Dick, you have
- 23:14Speaker 4: officially endorsed him. Right, The Larry is my man. The
- 23:19Speaker 4: Larry got your own brand. Now, the Larry, the Larry.
- 23:23Speaker 4: What is it, Dick that you I mean again, you're
- 23:26Speaker 4: you live in d C. Whatever? What what made I mean?
- 23:28Speaker 4: You followed his case obviously, but what is it that
- 23:30Speaker 4: made you? That's one thing. But you obviously saw sotheran
- 23:33Speaker 4: him that made you want to get behind his campaign?
- 23:36Speaker 4: What was that?
- 23:37Speaker 9: Well?
- 23:37Speaker 13: In Washington, it's a it's a swamp of mingling and
- 23:42Speaker 13: just you just meet people from all over America. Uh,
- 23:46Speaker 13: come to the Soviet district and we meet up, and
- 23:50Speaker 13: I heard his story and I said, I can't believe
- 23:52Speaker 13: this lawfair. The cancer of Lawfair of the Washington Swamp
- 23:58Speaker 13: obviously has spread the West Virginia.
- 24:02Speaker 4: Okay, So, so you decide to run for Congress, and
- 24:06Speaker 4: you've officially filed, and so I remembered, I guess you
- 24:09Speaker 4: will whatever. Yeah, so you're going to be running and
- 24:13Speaker 4: you'll be I don't know exactly who else is gonna
- 24:15Speaker 4: be running, but obviously Carol Miller is in the is
- 24:18Speaker 4: in that seat. Now, what would you do differently than
- 24:21Speaker 4: what Congresswoman Miller's done.
- 24:24Speaker 14: One of the biggest things that I would do differently
- 24:28Speaker 14: than what she is is listen to the people. That's
- 24:33Speaker 14: one of the biggest complaints. As I'm out meeting people
- 24:37Speaker 14: talking with them, a lot of them doesn't even know
- 24:40Speaker 14: who she is, unfortunately, and that's that's sad that that's
- 24:45Speaker 14: probably the biggest thing, is listening to the people and
- 24:47Speaker 14: taking their concerns back to Washington.
- 24:50Speaker 4: And you talked about the infrastructure issues, particularly in this district,
- 24:54Speaker 4: and of course we have only two districts now, basically
- 24:57Speaker 4: you can be defined as as the central southern and
- 25:00Speaker 4: and everything north of that, and so's. It's a very
- 25:02Speaker 4: very big district And a lot of the issues are
- 25:07Speaker 4: going to be different from Charleston to Hanover, but a
- 25:11Speaker 4: lot of are going to be the same because we
- 25:13Speaker 4: hear the infrastructure issue talked about, know, whether whether it's
- 25:15Speaker 4: a larger city like Charleston or whether it's you know, Hanover. Yeah,
- 25:18Speaker 4: a lot of the issues are the same.
- 25:20Speaker 14: Absolutely, the infrastructure. You know, as you're riding through Southern
- 25:25Speaker 14: West Virginia District one, the infrastructure, it's just you know,
- 25:32Speaker 14: roads are falling apart. Now, obviously it is different in
- 25:34Speaker 14: Hanover than it is here in Charleston. Here in Charleston,
- 25:37Speaker 14: the roads are not falling out into the river like
- 25:39Speaker 14: they are in Hanover. But we definitely have a lot
- 25:43Speaker 14: of work to do there. And I can't in good
- 25:46Speaker 14: faith continue to watch money be sent overseas while we
- 25:50Speaker 14: sit here and do without. Where's our money going?
- 25:54Speaker 4: What's your idea for the campaign? Because obviously, and I
- 25:58Speaker 4: don't mean this in a derogatory way, but any time
- 26:00Speaker 4: that you are going to get up against somebody who
- 26:01Speaker 4: is an established political figure like Congresswoman Miller is it
- 26:06Speaker 4: doesn't matter what side of the allel you're on. It's
- 26:07Speaker 4: always difficult to go after somebody that's an incumbent. What
- 26:10Speaker 4: is your what's your plan?
- 26:11Speaker 14: My plan is to engage with voters. I have been
- 26:15Speaker 14: doing that for the last almost year now. I announced
- 26:19Speaker 14: in November of last year. So I've been out meeting
- 26:22Speaker 14: with voters, listening to their concerns, educating them, and letting
- 26:26Speaker 14: them know that, you know, independence, you need to get
- 26:30Speaker 14: registered as Republican if you want to vote for me,
- 26:32Speaker 14: because I am Republican, and next your primary is closed.
- 26:35Speaker 14: So I've been engaging with the voters, informing them, letting
- 26:40Speaker 14: them know what they need to do. That's my plan
- 26:44Speaker 14: going forward as well.
- 26:46Speaker 4: And if I don't know that anything like this are planned,
- 26:49Speaker 4: but if there were to be a debate or a
- 26:52Speaker 4: forum or something like that involving Congresswoman Miller or whomever
- 26:57Speaker 4: else may be running, was that something you'd be willing
- 26:59Speaker 4: to take part?
- 27:00Speaker 14: I have, and I've actually made a statement on that
- 27:04Speaker 14: as well. I will debate. The only stipulation is everyone
- 27:09Speaker 14: that may be in the race has to debate. No
- 27:12Speaker 14: one's getting a free pass with me. I stand firm
- 27:15Speaker 14: on that. No one is getting just a free pass
- 27:17Speaker 14: with me.
- 27:18Speaker 4: Okay, again, where Todd to Larry Jackson is going to
- 27:20Speaker 4: be a candidate for Core. Actually he's a candidate for
- 27:23Speaker 4: Congress in Industry one. But obviously you're aligned with mister
- 27:27Speaker 4: Heller here. He's given you the endorsement. Whats and we
- 27:29Speaker 4: know you told us your story what happened? But why
- 27:32Speaker 4: your story? Notwithstanding if it said never happened to you?
- 27:35Speaker 4: What is it about the Second Amendment that's so important
- 27:37Speaker 4: to you?
- 27:38Speaker 14: The Second Amendment is under attack, it has been for
- 27:41Speaker 14: a while. The Second Amendment is clearer, the right of
- 27:44Speaker 14: the people to keep in bare arms shall not be infringed.
- 27:47Speaker 14: Somewhere along the way, our government has infringed extremely about
- 27:53Speaker 14: on the Second Amendment. And the Second Amendment is the
- 27:56Speaker 14: only amendment that protects all your other rights. Without the Second,
- 28:00Speaker 14: you have no others.
- 28:02Speaker 4: Dick's over here doing like my dad used to do
- 28:04Speaker 4: in church, going on. Huh yeah, amen, you want to
- 28:07Speaker 4: add in on that, Dick.
- 28:09Speaker 13: Well, what I've noticed the pattern is once they found
- 28:12Speaker 13: they could start infringing on the Second Amendment, by golly,
- 28:15Speaker 13: the First Amendment started coming close on its heels.
- 28:21Speaker 4: I will say this, I think we got a big
- 28:24Speaker 4: First Amendment issue going on right now, A huge, a huge,
- 28:27Speaker 4: and that's the one that both sides have champion until
- 28:31Speaker 4: they didn't want it anymore, you know. Yeah, And unfortunately,
- 28:35Speaker 4: if the First Amendment comes, you know, it comes with
- 28:37Speaker 4: some baggage. I guess from time to time.
- 28:40Speaker 14: Well, our rights come from God, they don't come from government.
- 28:45Speaker 14: The rights enshrined and the Constitution, those are just that rights,
- 28:50Speaker 14: and the government seemed to have them confused with rights
- 28:55Speaker 14: and privileges. Privileges you can give and take. You know,
- 28:58Speaker 14: it's kind of like a driver's license. That's a privilege
- 29:01Speaker 14: we can all agree to that you can have that
- 29:03Speaker 14: privilege revoked for some reason, whether that be citations or whatever.
- 29:08Speaker 14: Right you cannot. A right and a privilege are different,
- 29:11Speaker 14: you know, right, you just can't take and give back
- 29:13Speaker 14: or juggle around. And the First Amendment is coming under
- 29:18Speaker 14: siege right now. And I'm a constitutionalist.
- 29:22Speaker 4: What's your definition of a constitutionalist?
- 29:26Speaker 2: For me?
- 29:26Speaker 14: If the Constitution says it, it's pretty clear, and that's
- 29:29Speaker 14: what we're going to live by.
- 29:32Speaker 4: Dick talked about the swamp that is DC. If you
- 29:35Speaker 4: are elected and you go to d C, how do
- 29:38Speaker 4: you make sure you don't become a member of as
- 29:40Speaker 4: you say, the swamp, I'll be there. You got to
- 29:43Speaker 4: answer to the dude over here.
- 29:47Speaker 14: You know, I'm no politician I have. I believe in
- 29:54Speaker 14: term limits. I believe that's one way of fixing that
- 29:57Speaker 14: because most of the people that are in there now
- 30:00Speaker 14: they've came from political backgrounds, political dynasties. I am a
- 30:07Speaker 14: firm believer in term limits, which is what voting is.
- 30:12Speaker 3: You know.
- 30:12Speaker 14: That's why we have representatives elected every two years, so
- 30:16Speaker 14: that power does lay with the people. Right now, Unfortunately,
- 30:19Speaker 14: the people aren't exercising that power. We see that a
- 30:23Speaker 14: lot of people and the numbers are staggering at the
- 30:27Speaker 14: voters that just doesn't get out and vote.
- 30:29Speaker 4: Why do you think that is?
- 30:31Speaker 14: It's been this way so long in southern West Virginia,
- 30:33Speaker 14: an anyway, in District one, this seat has been held
- 30:39Speaker 14: by a career politician since nineteen seventy seven. Now that
- 30:43Speaker 14: was before my time. I was born in eighty two.
- 30:45Speaker 14: How much further back it goes in that I don't know.
- 30:48Speaker 14: I have not researched it, but at least since nineteen
- 30:50Speaker 14: seventy seven, this seat has been held by career politician,
- 30:53Speaker 14: and folks wonder why are we not seeing anything? Why
- 30:57Speaker 14: are we not getting changed? So back to your question,
- 31:01Speaker 14: I have decided to term limit myself. I have signed
- 31:04Speaker 14: a term limit pledge. Again, I'm no politician. I've got
- 31:10Speaker 14: my career, I've got my family. I just want to
- 31:12Speaker 14: make a change for the people. And then get back
- 31:14Speaker 14: to that.
- 31:15Speaker 4: Where can people go? Ahead? Dickton?
- 31:17Speaker 13: Could I add to that? I don't have the answer
- 31:20Speaker 13: to why, but I can tell you what is now.
- 31:24Speaker 13: What I'm always harping on is that comrade Governor Hokel,
- 31:29Speaker 13: Kathy Hokel, governor of New York, won by three hundred
- 31:33Speaker 13: and twenty seven thousand votes. Now that's good news for her.
- 31:38Speaker 13: The bad news is that sixty four percent. And I
- 31:42Speaker 13: hope this irritates some people in DC in West Virginia
- 31:47Speaker 13: so they become a hero to their kids, take them
- 31:50Speaker 13: to the poll and see their parents voting for their freedom.
- 31:55Speaker 13: Because in New York, sixty sixty four percent of the
- 31:59Speaker 13: gun owners and hunter did not get off the couch
- 32:02Speaker 13: and vote, to the tune of three point two million
- 32:07Speaker 13: gun owners did not vote in New York, ten times
- 32:11Speaker 13: the margin that Comrade Hokill won by interesting.
- 32:16Speaker 4: Point, Larry, I appreciate you being here. We got to
- 32:18Speaker 4: wrap it up. I'm gonna give you well. First of all,
- 32:20Speaker 4: I want to ask you about where can people learn more? Website,
- 32:24Speaker 4: social media, where you go.
- 32:25Speaker 14: Yes, we are on social media. Jackson for US Congress

- 32:32Speaker 14: that is www dot Jackson for WV dot com Jackson
- 32:38Speaker 14: four FO RWV dot com.
- 32:40Speaker 4: And as I do with every candidate, no matter whether
- 32:42Speaker 4: they're running for Congress or county commission, it's always the
- 32:45Speaker 4: same final question. Give me thirty seconds, and I'm not
- 32:48Speaker 4: actually gonna time it. Give me about thirty seconds on
- 32:51Speaker 4: why people should vote for you.
- 32:54Speaker 14: If you're looking for change, and you're looking for more
- 32:58Speaker 14: opportunity than I'm obviously the better candidate, if you're looking
- 33:02Speaker 14: for your rights to be held with upheld, I'm actually
- 33:06Speaker 14: it's a clear choice. Get out, vote, make a difference,

- 33:15Speaker 4: Successible and you're I'm very accessible, all right, Larry, appreciate

- 46:24Speaker 4: No clue why because America has never had a king,
- 46:27Speaker 4: so this is fake news. However, there is no Democrats

- 47:05Speaker 4: He's done more to strengthen our country than any other
- 47:08Speaker 4: president in my lifetime. And thanks, says a text. So
- 47:12Speaker 4: I'm going to pose a question to you. What do
- 47:16Speaker 4: the Washington Post, Fox News, Newsmax, MSNBC, The Huffington Post,
- 47:26Speaker 4: NBC News, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, Reuters, Politico, PBS,
- 47:34Speaker 4: The New York Times, the Military Times, CNN. What do
- 47:39Speaker 4: all these entities have in common? Because you would see
- 47:44Speaker 4: up on the surface that you couldn't get representatives from
- 47:46Speaker 4: Fox News and MSNBC to share a cup of coffee.
- 47:51Speaker 4: But they're all together, and they're all united. What are
- 47:54Speaker 4: they united about? All of these entities are speaking out
- 47:59Speaker 4: against the new Pentagon rules on reporting. The Defense Secretary
- 48:05Speaker 4: Pete Hegseth is threatening journalists access to the Pentagon if
- 48:09Speaker 4: they don't sign rules put forth by him in the
- 48:12Speaker 4: administration that would punish them for reporting information that the
- 48:17Speaker 4: Pentagon does not want release. Now, granted, we're not talking
- 48:20Speaker 4: about classified information here, We're not giving away war secrets. Okay.
- 48:27Speaker 4: So I was reading this story last night and I
- 48:29Speaker 4: actually posted on my social media without without commentary. I
- 48:33Speaker 4: just said, what all these you know have in common?
- 48:37Speaker 4: So I will say congratulation to Pete Tegseth because you
- 48:39Speaker 4: have somehow managed we always talk about getting the country
- 48:43Speaker 4: back together. You have managed to get Newsmax, CNN, MSNBC,
- 48:49Speaker 4: the Wall Street Journal, Fox News, New York Times, Post, PBS, etc.
- 48:53Speaker 4: All on the same page. They've all united Newsmax and
- 49:00Speaker 4: n and the Wall Street Journal, in the Post and
- 49:02Speaker 4: the Times and all that PBSL They're all on the
- 49:05Speaker 4: same page here. What kind of a bizarro world do
- 49:10Speaker 4: we live in that they are all on the same page.
- 49:15Speaker 4: Tex says, magas are going through collective psychosis. Not sure
- 49:19Speaker 4: if they need empathy or committed to an institution, probably
- 49:22Speaker 4: both as a texture. You got to find someone now
- 49:26Speaker 4: to replace Mike Stewart in the State Senate. Mister Stewart,
- 49:29Speaker 4: of course, is now a part of the Trump administration
- 49:33Speaker 4: and he vacated his seats in the Senate. Aaron Parker's

- 49:41Speaker 4: the deadline to apply is at five o'clock this afternoon,

- 49:50Speaker 4: applicants to go to the governor, and this will be
- 49:52Speaker 4: the completion of Mike Stewart's term. Again. Aaron Parker's story
- 49:55Speaker 4: with quotes from State Republican Party chair Josh Holstein, posted

- 50:34Speaker 3: Uh.
- 50:35Speaker 4: I don't know if you heard this. You were walking
- 50:36Speaker 4: in as I was saying this. All those institutions that
- 50:38Speaker 4: I mentioned, all these media institutions Newsmax, CNN, MSNBC, Wall
- 50:42Speaker 4: Street Journal, so on, so forth, Fox News are all
- 50:45Speaker 4: united together. What do you think about that? What kind
- 50:49Speaker 4: of bizarre world is that that Newsmax and the Wall
- 50:52Speaker 4: Street Journal and Fox News and CNN are all on
- 50:54Speaker 4: the same page. Here tells you just how bad this
- 50:59Speaker 4: idea is. And the one network that does it, one
- 51:01Speaker 4: America news network. I think it is probably struggles to
- 51:05Speaker 4: get three people to watch it. That's why they've signed it, right,
