- 0:00Speaker 1: Scrubbing In with Beca Tilly and Tanya rad and iHeartRadio
- 0:04Speaker 1: and two time People's Choice Award winning podcast.
- 0:10Speaker 2: Hello everybody, we are scrubbing it.
- 0:15Speaker 1: It's that scrubbing in life with my scrubbing in wife.
- 0:20Speaker 2: That's right, we're back.
- 0:22Speaker 1: I tell some people.
- 0:23Speaker 2: Did you see the comments about how when Robbie suggested
- 0:26Speaker 2: that was he.
- 0:28Speaker 1: Yeah, referring to me. Yeah, I think so. Oh, but
- 0:32Speaker 1: I think it still applies.
- 0:33Speaker 2: Like a work wife situation. Gotcha, gotcha?
- 0:35Speaker 3: Gotcha.
- 0:36Speaker 2: I was like, I don't know.
- 0:37Speaker 1: I think he was like he created it for himself, right,
- 0:40Speaker 1: which was cute. He did his homework, totally cute. Yeah,
- 0:43Speaker 1: and you just said I'll take that.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Thank you so much, thanks for your service. Yeah, I'm
- 0:49Speaker 2: going to run with that.
- 0:50Speaker 1: Yeah. You were out sick last week. I was down
- 0:55Speaker 1: for the count. It was There's a lot of stuff
- 0:58Speaker 1: going around. It's crazy. Ye, Haley has it again. No,
- 1:04Speaker 1: I feel like she got it. I avoided it. You
- 1:07Speaker 1: got it.
- 1:08Speaker 2: I didn't avoid it.
- 1:09Speaker 1: I didn't give it to you. Well.
- 1:11Speaker 2: I was in the studio with you on Monday, far
- 1:14Speaker 2: away from me, close enough, talking at each other. Wynn
- 1:18Speaker 2: was going in my direction.
- 1:20Speaker 1: I was sitting next to Sisney for twice as long,
- 1:22Speaker 1: and she didn't get she has kids.
- 1:23Speaker 2: She has an armor strong Immunes is.
- 1:26Speaker 1: Just sitting next to Mark for twice as long. He
- 1:28Speaker 1: didn't get it.
- 1:29Speaker 2: He also has kids that are like adults.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Still, kids are kids. Anyways, I had a feeling you
- 1:37Speaker 1: blamed me for that.
- 1:39Speaker 2: No, I'm just kidding. I really didn't because I went
- 1:41Speaker 2: to Disneyland. Oh that's what took me down. Yeah, but
- 1:44Speaker 2: it was fun a lot of just because of your
- 1:47Speaker 2: paranoy about it.
- 1:49Speaker 1: I try to be really respectful when I'm sick. Me too.
- 1:52Speaker 2: That's why I was like, listen, you just got better,
- 1:54Speaker 2: and whatever's going around, you can it seems like you
- 1:57Speaker 2: can just catch again.
- 1:58Speaker 1: Yeah. So sock, I wasn't feeling good on Monday, so
- 2:01Speaker 1: we're like, let's postpone the podcast to Tuesday. And then
- 2:03Speaker 1: Tuesday rolled around and she wasn't feeling any better. So
- 2:06Speaker 1: I did it with Mark. But I saw a lot
- 2:09Speaker 1: of scuttle in the Facebook group about how when we
- 2:13Speaker 1: like postpone the podcast, we don't like give them a
- 2:15Speaker 1: heads up. They're right, and I'm going to start being
- 2:21Speaker 1: better about that. And I took that upon myself and
- 2:25Speaker 1: here we are to do what to make sure we
- 2:29Speaker 1: alert people if we're not going to do a podcast
- 2:31Speaker 1: on Monday.
- 2:31Speaker 4: Oh yes, worked beautifully yesterday.
- 2:35Speaker 1: Yes yes, oh yes, I posted it Oh well Sam, Crystal,
- 2:39Speaker 1: somebody posted it on the scrubbing In. But I last
- 2:42Speaker 1: week I like texted Sam and I was like, hey,
- 2:43Speaker 1: can we be better about when we're not going to
- 2:45Speaker 1: record on Monday letting people know because people look forward
- 2:49Speaker 1: to it and we want to keep those are those
- 2:50Speaker 1: are our girls? Like we want to keep them happy?
- 2:52Speaker 1: You know?
- 2:52Speaker 2: Totally? Yeah, and if Mondays are like their day to
- 2:56Speaker 2: listen to scribb.
- 2:57Speaker 1: Yeah, it's like when I get home and I'm ready
- 2:59Speaker 1: excited to watch Love Island and then I turn it
- 3:01Speaker 1: on and it's unseen bits. I'm like so much, you'll
- 3:05Speaker 1: so mutch.
- 3:06Speaker 2: But one thing about you watch.
- 3:09Speaker 1: Yeah, it depends on the day, but it's such a bummer.
- 3:11Speaker 1: So it's like I understand you and I hear you,
- 3:13Speaker 1: and I'm taking ability and we're gonna be better.
- 3:16Speaker 2: We'll be better.
- 3:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 3:17Speaker 2: There has been a lot.
- 3:18Speaker 1: Of missed Mondays.
- 3:20Speaker 2: Well guess there was a holiday, like everyone was off,
- 3:23Speaker 2: and sometimes they have like the pre recorded episodes for
- 3:25Speaker 2: those days, So I understand like sometimes even though they
- 3:28Speaker 2: know it's a holiday, there's expectations because others sometimes we
- 3:32Speaker 2: do pre record Monday holiday episodes.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Well, we've had like two Monday holidays and then you
- 3:37Speaker 1: were sick, I had surgery. It's just been a lot.
- 3:41Speaker 5: So just to give a little peek behind the curtain,
- 3:44Speaker 5: take you guys behind the scenes of scrubbing in. A
- 3:46Speaker 5: lot of your other podcasts, your favorite podcast record like
- 3:50Speaker 5: five days before it airs, they batch them, right scrubbing
- 3:53Speaker 5: in this this stuff is almost live. We're putting it
- 3:57Speaker 5: up as soon as we can, so you know, we
- 3:59Speaker 5: recorded in the afternoon typically, and then there's some production time.
- 4:03Speaker 1: A couple hours.
- 4:04Speaker 5: Yeah really, and like then you know I have to
- 4:06Speaker 5: click and upload it. I mean that takes me four
- 4:09Speaker 5: or five hours at least. I got to drag something,
- 4:11Speaker 5: I gotta click And I'm just kidding.
- 4:14Speaker 1: But I feel like they got pretty fast.
- 4:17Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, you know.
- 4:18Speaker 5: But but that's why the posting time is kind of
- 4:20Speaker 5: inconsistent on Mondays, because you know, it's we're doing.
- 4:23Speaker 1: It live, baby, But yeah, we're not batching. We're not
- 4:25Speaker 1: a batch nothing against batch podcast. What you got to
- 4:28Speaker 1: do it's.
- 4:29Speaker 2: Not our m o constant, Like, that's not our what's
- 4:33Speaker 2: it called, like our our show isn't batched. Well, it's
- 4:38Speaker 2: not like a script.
- 4:40Speaker 1: It's not the life.
- 4:41Speaker 2: It's not the batchelor, know what I'm saying. Like you
- 4:45Speaker 2: know how people and people have a storytelling podcast, they
- 4:48Speaker 2: can kind.
- 4:48Speaker 1: Of or like a rewatch where they watch a show
- 4:52Speaker 1: and recap it.
- 4:52Speaker 4: Like right, that's not a structure.
- 4:55Speaker 2: That's the structure because we're talking about our lives and
- 4:58Speaker 2: what happened within the last week.
- 5:00Speaker 1: Couple of days. Yeah, so anyway, it's a little bit
- 5:04Speaker 1: about us.
- 5:04Speaker 2: Well, thanks for taking that one.
- 5:06Speaker 1: You know, I'm taking a lot on because it's the
- 5:08Speaker 1: lunar New Year. It's the year of the horse.
- 5:12Speaker 2: Yes, you feel horse.
- 5:14Speaker 1: I'm so happy for this, like you have no idea? Yeah,
- 5:18Speaker 1: I am ready for the snake to be done.
- 5:20Speaker 2: The shedding really shed this year.
- 5:23Speaker 1: Oh yeah, a lot of shedding, a lot of shedding.
- 5:27Speaker 1: And the shedding's over. Yeah, and it's time for a new.
- 5:30Speaker 2: Well, you talked about your mojo coming back last week.
- 5:32Speaker 2: Where's the mojo at right now?
- 5:34Speaker 1: Pretty good?
- 5:35Speaker 2: Like where where was it at the start of the
- 5:37Speaker 2: year one to ten?
- 5:38Speaker 1: Ten being negative ten.
- 5:40Speaker 2: Oh my god, it's bad, not bad, very bad. Okay,
- 5:43Speaker 2: we're to.
- 5:44Speaker 1: See surgery will do that to you. Yeah yeah, freeze
- 5:47Speaker 1: it to your knees.
- 5:49Speaker 2: And where are we now?
- 5:52Speaker 1: Five?
- 5:53Speaker 2: Okay?
- 5:53Speaker 1: Not bad?
- 5:54Speaker 2: Well I mean that's a fifteen point Yeah, room for improvement,
- 5:58Speaker 2: but not bad. Okay, okay, sorry, what have you done?
- 6:01Speaker 2: That's like bringing it back?
- 6:04Speaker 1: I guess just time, I think time heels. I'm also
- 6:08Speaker 1: getting into more like a rhythm. I'm just like feeling
- 6:10Speaker 1: a little bit more like myself. So yeah, yeah, okay, great, Yeah,
- 6:14Speaker 1: happy to hear that. Yeah, I had a nice.
- 6:20Speaker 2: I do.
- 6:20Speaker 1: I'm trying to make like a I'm trying to make
- 6:22Speaker 1: a reference. I'm trying to make an innuendo. Yeah, I
- 6:31Speaker 1: had a nice baseball game home run, if you will
- 6:35Speaker 1: I see. Okay, that really brought me back.
- 6:38Speaker 2: Yeah yeah, that'll do it, and it'll do it.
- 6:43Speaker 1: It's a little bit about me. But I feel like
- 6:48Speaker 1: a lot has happened because when you weren't here last week,
- 6:51Speaker 1: the Girls Like Girls trailer came out and any guys
- 6:53Speaker 1: saw it in the theater, So there's like a lot
- 6:55Speaker 1: to catch up on.
- 6:56Speaker 2: Oh my gosh, last week was crazy and for Haley.
- 7:00Speaker 2: So the poster came out on Monday, and that was like,
- 7:05Speaker 2: a that was so cool because obviously the process has
- 7:10Speaker 2: been really interesting because I knew nothing about what goes
- 7:13Speaker 2: into the movie process, and like, you know, when it's
- 7:17Speaker 2: going to theaters and you're creating the poster and I
- 7:20Speaker 2: that's so cool, Like it's such a fun process, and
- 7:22Speaker 2: it's like narrowing down the options that she was sent
- 7:25Speaker 2: like so many different just posters that had different feelings,
- 7:30Speaker 2: you know. Yeah, and so when they landed.
- 7:32Speaker 1: Multiple posters, oh that she got to pick from, she
- 7:35Speaker 1: got to choose.
- 7:36Speaker 2: I think it was like her top and then like
- 7:38Speaker 2: everyone kind of collectively came together to pick one, you know,
- 7:42Speaker 2: And so that was really exciting. And then obviously she
- 7:46Speaker 2: was so nervous about the trailer coming out because she's
- 7:49Speaker 2: been working. She released the music video and the song
- 7:53Speaker 2: in twenty fifteen, and basically after that is when she
- 7:58Speaker 2: started working on the concept and the script and everything
- 8:02Speaker 2: in the book. And so it's been kind of a
- 8:04Speaker 2: ten year journey or eleven years, and she's put so
- 8:09Speaker 2: much into it and so I think it coming out
- 8:12Speaker 2: and being everyone else's and them getting to have opinions
- 8:16Speaker 2: or you know, seeing.
- 8:17Speaker 1: It's made me think about things in a very different
- 8:19Speaker 1: way because I think about Haley and like, how much
- 8:22Speaker 1: time has gone into this movie specifically, right, and how
- 8:25Speaker 1: much should I talk on Like a lot of TV
- 8:27Speaker 1: shows and movies that I watch. I'm like, this is
- 8:29Speaker 1: like somebody's baby that they've spent so much time on.
- 8:32Speaker 1: I'm just sitting here being like it's suck, I know,
- 8:35Speaker 1: but you.
- 8:35Speaker 2: Know what, I also there's that, but then there's the
- 8:39Speaker 2: opposite where I'm able to that's what I use when
- 8:42Speaker 2: she's you know, worried about are people gonna like it?
- 8:45Speaker 2: Or what if people don't think it's good? And I'm like,
- 8:47Speaker 2: you have to think people were complaining about I think
- 8:51Speaker 2: Margot Robbie's like one of the most beautiful humans in
- 8:53Speaker 2: the world, and people had opinions about her playing Catherine
- 8:58Speaker 2: and Wuthering Heights like they wanted someone younger, they pictured
- 9:02Speaker 2: someone different. It's just like people are always gonna have
- 9:04Speaker 2: a pin And when there's already been a music video
- 9:08Speaker 2: attached to girls like Girls, and there's a book attached
- 9:10Speaker 2: to girls like Girls, it's like people have come up
- 9:12Speaker 2: with this idea of but they're just gonna be opinions.
- 9:15Speaker 2: So I think, if anything, it's kind of like art
- 9:17Speaker 2: is subjective, and it's like some people are gonna be
- 9:22Speaker 2: like this changed my life and like I've never gotten
- 9:25Speaker 2: to see myself portrayed on a big screen. And some
- 9:27Speaker 2: people will be like it wasn't for me because they
- 9:30Speaker 2: might not be a gay girl who struggled with her
- 9:33Speaker 2: sexuality as a teenager. Right, But it's also changed my
- 9:37Speaker 2: perspective too, because I'm like, while these people that release
- 9:40Speaker 2: films that took forever and if they don't do well
- 9:43Speaker 2: or they just feel like bashed by the critics, it's
- 9:46Speaker 2: really sad because I've seen how much just like she's
- 9:51Speaker 2: poured everything into this.
- 9:52Speaker 1: I know, I know, I know, think about how Ryan
- 9:55Speaker 1: Murphy felt when what was the show with all the celebrities,
- 9:58Speaker 1: Tiana Taylor, Kim Kardashian in Glenn Close. They got like
- 10:02Speaker 1: a zero on Rot Tomatoes.
- 10:04Speaker 6: You liked it, I liked it, but still I got
- 10:07Speaker 6: like totally shadowed by Murphy.
- 10:09Speaker 1: She just likes Ryan Murphy's doing just.
- 10:11Speaker 2: He has a quick turnaround for his shows and.
- 10:13Speaker 5: Budget important etail though, because people are like, oh my god,
- 10:16Speaker 5: the movie was so bad and it's like it takes
- 10:18Speaker 5: so much work to make a.
- 10:19Speaker 2: Movie at all the money that went into that cast.
- 10:25Speaker 2: But it was really cool because we went on Friday
- 10:29Speaker 2: night because she found out. So Haley knew that it
- 10:33Speaker 2: was coming to trailer the trailer like it's going to
- 10:35Speaker 2: be shown in movie theaters, but she didn't know that
- 10:39Speaker 2: the trailer was going to be shown before movies are
- 10:43Speaker 2: like in multiple theaters. She thought she was gonna have
- 10:45Speaker 2: to take her like poster that she had at home,
- 10:47Speaker 2: put it into like one of the glass things at
- 10:49Speaker 2: a local theater and might take pictures with it. Oh,
- 10:53Speaker 2: So they told her it was showing before Weathering Heights
- 10:55Speaker 2: and she was like where, like like in what theater
- 10:59Speaker 2: and they're like in Regal and AMC theaters. So she's like,
- 11:03Speaker 2: we have to go see it. So we got like
- 11:05Speaker 2: a huge group of people on Friday night to go
- 11:07Speaker 2: watch it, and.
- 11:08Speaker 1: We're so bummed that we couldn't be there.
- 11:10Speaker 2: I know, I know it's bombed, but it was so
- 11:14Speaker 2: crazy because it's like Devil Wears Prada, Hunger Games. No,
- 11:19Speaker 2: it's crazy, these massive movies and then it's like girls
- 11:22Speaker 2: like Girls and it's it's just it's I.
- 11:25Speaker 1: Can't play in front of Wuthering Heights like across the country. Yes,
- 11:29Speaker 1: all weekend, Yes.
- 11:32Speaker 2: Play in front of like you know that she said,
- 11:35Speaker 2: it's playing in front of like all these huge new
- 11:37Speaker 2: movies coming out.
- 11:38Speaker 1: No, Wuthering Heights did like crazy, well this weekend. That
- 11:41Speaker 1: means like a lot of eyeball saw the trailer.
- 11:44Speaker 2: I know, so I want to.
- 11:46Speaker 1: See Wuthering Heights just as side trailer.
- 11:48Speaker 6: I know.
- 11:49Speaker 2: Well, I always, of course, and like walking into the
- 11:52Speaker 2: theater as the movie's about to start. But it made
- 11:55Speaker 2: me go, like everyone needs to go and sit.
- 11:57Speaker 1: Oh, I'm always there. I'm always for every preview I
- 12:01Speaker 1: like to.
- 12:02Speaker 2: I tried to, but I just never make it. Yeah,
- 12:05Speaker 2: but it was. It's so exciting. I'm so proud of
- 12:07Speaker 2: her and like what a cool I don't know. I
- 12:10Speaker 2: can't imagine sitting there wondering, I guess, never thinking that
- 12:15Speaker 2: it was gonna come out, and then it's shown before
- 12:18Speaker 2: like one of the biggest movies of the year right
- 12:20Speaker 2: off the bat.
- 12:21Speaker 1: It's so crazy because again I know nothing about movies
- 12:24Speaker 1: or movie making, and I know that Hayley's been working
- 12:26Speaker 1: on this, and for some reason, it's like, you know,
- 12:28Speaker 1: Eve envisioned somebody like it looks like all these other
- 12:31Speaker 1: big movies out there, and I guess I had a
- 12:33Speaker 1: different impression that it was gonna look like.
- 12:34Speaker 2: I don't know what I thought, Like, I know what
- 12:38Speaker 2: I saw you.
- 12:38Speaker 6: When I saw the trailer, I was like, oh my gosh,
- 12:41Speaker 6: it's a feature. It's a feature fanel like it's literally
- 12:44Speaker 6: like a movie in the theaters that like is giant
- 12:47Speaker 6: and so beautiful. Like even Robbie was like the color
- 12:51Speaker 6: and the tone and like the visual of the whole thing.
- 12:54Speaker 6: He was like so impressed. And I was like, yeah,
- 12:55Speaker 6: I don't know what I was expecting.
- 12:57Speaker 2: A school movie product, yes, but I know, not.
- 13:03Speaker 1: Meaning that to come across in any way of like
- 13:05Speaker 1: I was just so shook.
- 13:08Speaker 2: But wouldn't you know someone but yeah, you were like
- 13:10Speaker 2: I'm creating a film. I'd be like, okay, right an
- 13:16Speaker 2: instagram real literally that you know, I think the trailer
- 13:21Speaker 2: is gonna be I'm not kidding. When she got the
- 13:24Speaker 2: trailer for the first time, I was like fully sobbing.
- 13:27Speaker 2: As soon as the.
- 13:29Speaker 1: And the way that the song like it at the
- 13:32Speaker 1: right moments, it like gave me chills. And that rendition
- 13:35Speaker 1: of the song is like it's different, right, yeahstril orchestral
- 13:40Speaker 1: or estl. Yeah, it's beautiful. I do want to talk
- 13:44Speaker 1: about something because I think I may have said something
- 13:46Speaker 1: wrong last week and I got a fiery d M
- 13:49Speaker 1: about it.
- 13:50Speaker 2: One DM.
- 13:51Speaker 1: Yeah it was just one person, but I was like,
- 13:52Speaker 1: oh my gosh, if this is how they interpreted it,
- 13:54Speaker 1: I don't want anybody to interpret it that way. So
- 13:56Speaker 1: we're going to get into it after the break.
- 13:58Speaker 3: Oh nice, and we're back.
- 14:18Speaker 2: I didn't get to beat you to it.
- 14:20Speaker 1: Sorry, Okay, Well, I've been wanting to tell you this
- 14:22Speaker 1: story and actually didn't send you the DM because I
- 14:24Speaker 1: want to like address it on the podcast in case
- 14:26Speaker 1: somebody else also thought that I what I meant bad
- 14:30Speaker 1: by this, Okay, but I got this DM of somebody
- 14:32Speaker 1: basically being like, I can't believe you're friends with Haley
- 14:33Speaker 1: and Becco. Why would you say that? So you know
- 14:37Speaker 1: how in the trailer it says only in theaters June?
- 14:42Speaker 1: Is it June nineteenth or June nineteenth? Only in theater
- 14:45Speaker 1: June nineteenth? Okay, I guess I'd never pay attention to
- 14:48Speaker 1: things that apparently they all say only in theaters Jun nineteenth,
- 14:51Speaker 1: So in my mind, I was like, is it only
- 14:53Speaker 1: in theaters that day? Like I can't be like, you
- 14:57Speaker 1: have to go.
- 14:58Speaker 5: I will defend you, Tanya. That only in theaters I
- 15:01Speaker 5: think is a new because.
- 15:04Speaker 1: Yeah, so that's what we got to. Mark was like,
- 15:06Speaker 1: I think it's so that they know, like it's not
- 15:08Speaker 1: going to be streaming. And I was like, oh, that
- 15:10Speaker 1: makes more sense. I was like, why would it be
- 15:12Speaker 1: in theaters one day? Like that doesn't make any sense.
- 15:14Speaker 1: So I was like explaining that, and we're having this
- 15:17Speaker 1: back and forth and somebody got really mad at me
- 15:19Speaker 1: about saying that I would think it would only be
- 15:22Speaker 1: in theaters one day and how dare I? And I
- 15:25Speaker 1: was like, this was literally just like a legit mistake.
- 15:28Speaker 1: I didn't know. Yeah, I've never heard that. And what's
- 15:30Speaker 1: really funny is now every time we see a commercial,
- 15:33Speaker 1: Robbie always points out to me, He's like, only in theaters,
- 15:35Speaker 1: only in theaters. I'm like, I guess I've just never
- 15:36Speaker 1: paid attention to that. I was like, the wording is
- 15:38Speaker 1: so weird, only nineteenth Why do you need.
- 15:42Speaker 2: To do though, because there's so many also, like massive
- 15:46Speaker 2: movies that come straight to streaming, right, So it's like,
- 15:49Speaker 2: if you want to see this, you better get to
- 15:50Speaker 2: the theater right And let me just say, Scrubbers, I
- 15:53Speaker 2: know what you can do. I know what happens when
- 15:55Speaker 2: you show up at Numbers.
- 15:59Speaker 1: But not only June nineteenth.
- 16:01Speaker 2: You can go off days after but opening weekend, yeah,
- 16:04Speaker 2: major opening weekend.
- 16:06Speaker 1: But yes, I really wanted to clarify that because I
- 16:08Speaker 1: was like, I didn't mean anything by it. It was totally
- 16:10Speaker 1: a simple mistake. And I love Haley and I'm not
- 16:12Speaker 1: trying to like bash the movie at all.
- 16:15Speaker 2: I don't think Hailey Hurd and I also think she
- 16:17Speaker 2: would never think anything of that. So so the person
- 16:21Speaker 2: who dmmed Tanya all as well, layoff, back off, back off?
- 16:26Speaker 3: Baby?
- 16:28Speaker 2: What DoD y'all do for Valentine's Day?
- 16:30Speaker 1: So we actually ended up going to Mammoth this weekend
- 16:33Speaker 1: Robbie's Birthdays Friday. Oh fun, And we went up to
- 16:37Speaker 1: like Robbie's love language is skiing with his family, like
- 16:40Speaker 1: that's all he wants to do in his life. And
- 16:43Speaker 1: I'm not great at it, but I'm actually I'm pretty good,
- 16:47Speaker 1: Like I can keep it. Yeah, yeah, yeah, I can
- 16:49Speaker 1: keep up. But so we went to Mammoth for the weekend,
- 16:52Speaker 1: So that's kind of what we did. Friday. I was amazing,
- 16:58Speaker 1: Like I was, who's like a face a skier, Tanya Harding.
- 17:07Speaker 4: I yes, I.
- 17:12Speaker 1: Was like Lindsay Vaughn. Up there. I was just going
- 17:15Speaker 1: down the mountain like just so good, right, beautiful sky
- 17:20Speaker 1: is not too cold. I was just like had my
- 17:23Speaker 1: warm chili for lunch. Then the next day, the lines
- 17:27Speaker 1: were so long and I ended up eating new boots
- 17:28Speaker 1: because they were a little bit big for me. So
- 17:30Speaker 1: the line was super long. So I was waiting for
- 17:32Speaker 1: like two hours, and I get so Robbie's like, if
- 17:35Speaker 1: we upgrade to these performance things, you can the lines shorter,
- 17:39Speaker 1: upgrade my skis, upgrade my boots, and I realized, per yeah,
- 17:44Speaker 1: they were very slippery, and I like the minute I
- 17:46Speaker 1: put them on, I was like I knew it was
- 17:48Speaker 1: going to be bad, but I was just like I
- 17:49Speaker 1: can't wait in another line to like switch them out.
- 17:51Speaker 1: It was like, let's just go. I'm freaking Lindsay Vaughn.
- 17:53Speaker 1: I got this. I am slipping and sliding, I am
- 17:58Speaker 1: tumbling and then at once like I'm just not it's
- 18:01Speaker 1: just not it. It's very bad. So then we have
- 18:04Speaker 1: lunch and I was like, I think I'm gonna have
- 18:06Speaker 1: to just do like one more run and like call it.
- 18:09Speaker 1: On this last run, I like eat it hurt my
- 18:12Speaker 1: knee and I just start bawling like a baby, like
- 18:15Speaker 1: I'm like throwing a tantrum, and was like, babe, we
- 18:19Speaker 1: just got to get down the mountain, like and then
- 18:20Speaker 1: I'll take you home.
- 18:22Speaker 2: I am not skiing anymore.
- 18:27Speaker 1: I think it was built up. I didn't think it
- 18:28Speaker 1: has anything to do with like the skiing. I think
- 18:31Speaker 1: it was just like that's what triggered. Yes, I was
- 18:34Speaker 1: just like had to melt down. Like I felt like
- 18:36Speaker 1: I was acting like a teenager anyways.
- 18:39Speaker 2: Younger than a teenager, yeah, five year old, a five
- 18:42Speaker 2: year old.
- 18:42Speaker 1: But I was also hurt.
- 18:43Speaker 2: So it was like, well, yeah, you're hurt, you're over
- 18:46Speaker 2: stimulated by the clothes.
- 18:47Speaker 1: Yes, yes, So then I just end up pizzaing down
- 18:50Speaker 1: the mountain. Yeah. Yes, it's like what they teach like
- 18:57Speaker 1: little children you start skiing because I was just like
- 19:01Speaker 1: I don't want to fall again and I just want
- 19:02Speaker 1: to get down. I just want to get to the room. Todyays,
- 19:06Speaker 1: that's a little bit about my Valentine's Day.
- 19:07Speaker 2: Wait, so I haven't. I've never been. I've been snowboarding once,
- 19:12Speaker 2: like forever ago, and I barely remember the process of
- 19:15Speaker 2: waiting in lines. So you wait for two hours and
- 19:18Speaker 2: then you get to go one time.
- 19:19Speaker 1: No, no, so just to rent. So if you own
- 19:21Speaker 1: all your stuff, you just head out there and you're good.
- 19:24Speaker 1: But I don't own any of my stuff, so I
- 19:26Speaker 1: have rent, so the rentals because it was Presence Day weekend,
- 19:29Speaker 1: so it's just a busy weekend, which was my bad.
- 19:32Speaker 1: I should have done that, Like after I realized my
- 19:34Speaker 1: boots were big, I should have when I returned them,
- 19:36Speaker 1: just gotten new ones.
- 19:37Speaker 2: Does Robbie own his? Yeah, so should you get some
- 19:40Speaker 2: of your own? So y'all can just so slow?
- 19:42Speaker 1: It's so expensive and I do it like once a year,
- 19:44Speaker 1: so it's like, what's the point, but.
- 19:46Speaker 2: You know, just to not have to wait?
- 19:48Speaker 1: Yeah, it might.
- 19:49Speaker 2: Be because how much if you're renting her? How much
- 19:51Speaker 2: is it to rent every time?
- 19:53Speaker 1: Not as much as buying? I mean boots are like
- 19:55Speaker 1: seven hundred dollars. Oh yeah, it's not cheap. Wow.
- 19:59Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 20:00Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 20:00Speaker 2: I don't know much about this that world, nor do
- 20:03Speaker 2: I don't like I get over in the cold. I
- 20:06Speaker 2: realized when I went to New York for that job.
- 20:08Speaker 2: I realize that I get so overstimulated with like having
- 20:11Speaker 2: to put on layers and being like bundled and not
- 20:14Speaker 2: being able to freely move. So I feel like the
- 20:18Speaker 2: slopes would overstimulate me.
- 20:20Speaker 1: So I think that you need to give it a shot.
- 20:22Speaker 1: I actually think that you would love it because it's
- 20:25Speaker 1: cold out, but your clothes, you you're they make the
- 20:29Speaker 1: clothes so warm that like you're not cold as long
- 20:32Speaker 1: as you're covered with all like your gloves and stuff,
- 20:34Speaker 1: like you're not cold, and it's crisp and fresh, and
- 20:38Speaker 1: you're just like skiing down this mountain. It's so empowering,
- 20:42Speaker 1: like it's and you're like one with nature. Like it's
- 20:44Speaker 1: really this exhilarating feeling that I really can't explain. I
- 20:47Speaker 1: think you would really like it, Okay, and it's like
- 20:49Speaker 1: a workout too.
- 20:50Speaker 2: Maybe Robbie can. I'll go with you all and Robbie can.
- 20:54Speaker 1: Yes, he's a good teacher. Okay, Yeah, that's a little
- 20:58Speaker 1: bit about about Yeah, how about your Valentine's Day? It
- 21:03Speaker 1: was chill.
- 21:04Speaker 2: We woke up and did like we got each other gifts,
- 21:07Speaker 2: and then we went and had a cute little lunch
- 21:11Speaker 2: at this Italian restaurant and then kind of walked around
- 21:13Speaker 2: and then we just played games and watched TV and
- 21:16Speaker 2: had a chill night. That's fun.
- 21:18Speaker 1: That is nice.
- 21:19Speaker 2: Yeah. I made Haley a homemade card. I am just like, yeah,
- 21:23Speaker 2: it was crazy. I am not a craft like I
- 21:28Speaker 2: envy people who are crafters because I do. It's such
- 21:31Speaker 2: a skill and I don't have it, Like my handwriting's
- 21:33Speaker 2: not good. I just have never been super crafting creative
- 21:38Speaker 2: like that. But I found this video tutorial that this
- 21:41Speaker 2: girl made on TikTok, and I was like, I'm just
- 21:43Speaker 2: gonna try because I was sick, and I was like,
- 21:45Speaker 2: I have time, so I'm just gonna like. I ordered
- 21:48Speaker 2: some left handed scissors. By the way, have you had
- 21:50Speaker 2: left handed scissors.
- 21:51Speaker 1: My whole life? What the heck you use right handed scissors?
- 21:55Speaker 2: Don't you old?
- 21:56Speaker 1: Like jaggedy? Yes? Yeah?
- 21:57Speaker 2: Straight line? No?
- 21:59Speaker 1: How do you wrap gets?
- 22:00Speaker 2: It's so hard?
- 22:02Speaker 1: I'm furiating. Yeah, get left handed sisters.
- 22:05Speaker 2: I got them. Now. I feel like a craft master.
- 22:09Speaker 2: So I made it and she she was like she
- 22:12Speaker 2: reacted so well because I was so excited to give
- 22:15Speaker 2: it to her because I was like I can I
- 22:16Speaker 2: cannot believe I made this.
- 22:18Speaker 1: I'm blown away by what I've blown away by it too, honestly.
- 22:22Speaker 2: And then she had she was so excited, like she
- 22:24Speaker 2: kept looking at it and being like, if you would
- 22:26Speaker 2: have just gotten me this, I would have been so excited.
- 22:28Speaker 2: So it was fun to do that. And then yeah,
- 22:31Speaker 2: the rest of the weekend, we went with her parents
- 22:34Speaker 2: and her family to her brother and sister to go
- 22:36Speaker 2: see the movie trailer on Sunday, so we did that,
- 22:39Speaker 2: and then yeah, it was just kind of a we're
- 22:42Speaker 2: all like I got better, and then Haley got sick
- 22:45Speaker 2: against when I call it the ward, Yeah, gloroxing everything.
- 22:52Speaker 1: On Valentine's Day morning, we had the kids, so I
- 22:54Speaker 1: got like all of them, I made like their I
- 22:56Speaker 1: put all their favorite chocolates in like one of those
- 22:58Speaker 1: like big hearts, you know, like those little andy boxes
- 23:01Speaker 1: heart boxes. So I got like their favorite candies and
- 23:03Speaker 1: put them in like boxes. I had like cards for
- 23:05Speaker 1: all them. And then when we got home, they like
- 23:10Speaker 1: Robbie and the kids tried to create like some sort
- 23:13Speaker 1: of like home alone thing where like when I walk
- 23:15Speaker 1: in the door trap that there was like hearts that
- 23:19Speaker 1: like fell on my face and like didn't work. It
- 23:23Speaker 1: was like this giant plaist. I like walked in the
- 23:25Speaker 1: door and like what is that? And then like Sebby
- 23:28Speaker 1: pulls this string and they come like falling down.
- 23:32Speaker 3: Time.
- 23:32Speaker 1: I know, but I didn't know. I didn't know what
- 23:35Speaker 1: to play long and was on the ceiling.
- 23:38Speaker 2: Could have been like, hey, when you come in right.
- 23:40Speaker 1: Play along. A little heads up would have been yeah
- 23:42Speaker 1: he did give it. He did not, But yeah, they
- 23:45Speaker 1: like made homemade cards and stuff. So it's cute.
- 23:48Speaker 2: Yeah, the whole family involved East and Els and what
- 23:50Speaker 2: did y'all do? I know, it was probably something really thoughtful.
- 23:55Speaker 5: We we exchanged gifts and then I cooked dinner and
- 24:01Speaker 5: then we went to There's this place in Los Angeles
- 24:05Speaker 5: called Heritage Square Museum, and it's this really cool place
- 24:07Speaker 5: where they took all these old homes from all over
- 24:10Speaker 5: southern California and brought them all to this like park
- 24:13Speaker 5: so you can like walk up down and see these
- 24:15Speaker 5: like beautiful homes from like the eighteen hundreds. They're all
- 24:17Speaker 5: just there and they do a lot of like they
- 24:19Speaker 5: do like a free form Christmas thing there every year.
- 24:22Speaker 5: It's really they do a lot of neat events. But
- 24:24Speaker 5: on Valentine's Day they did a ghost hunt in the houses.
- 24:29Speaker 1: How random romantic.
- 24:31Speaker 4: Allison found it. She's like, we have to do this.
- 24:34Speaker 5: So we went and it was so fun because like
- 24:38Speaker 5: you get to go in these houses, these are like
- 24:40Speaker 5: historic homes. You get to like just poke around with
- 24:42Speaker 5: like you know, the little ghost detector thing. And it
- 24:45Speaker 5: was so funny because the first house we went into,
- 24:48Speaker 5: it was like they're just kind of letting us like
- 24:50Speaker 5: walk around and like see if we felt anything. And
- 24:53Speaker 5: like they were talking about the architecture of the house
- 24:54Speaker 5: was built as a hexagon too, or an octagon sorry,
- 24:57Speaker 5: to a lot of like air flow blah blah. It
- 24:59Speaker 5: was like historic kind of like a lesson thing. And
- 25:02Speaker 5: then the second house we go in and this girl's like,
- 25:04Speaker 5: I have this voice box that will like translate ghost voices.
- 25:07Speaker 5: We turn all the we turl the lights off, we
- 25:09Speaker 5: just hear.
- 25:10Speaker 4: Cut out, get out. It's like the scariest thing, but
- 25:14Speaker 4: it was so scary, it was so much fun.
- 25:16Speaker 2: Wait, so do people live in the home.
- 25:17Speaker 3: No, no, no.
- 25:20Speaker 5: Mem now, but so no one was like living in there,
- 25:23Speaker 5: but people have like died in those houses and they
- 25:26Speaker 5: all have like kind of spooky histories.
- 25:29Speaker 1: I love it.
- 25:29Speaker 4: Anyway, it was so fun. It was a great ways
- 25:31Speaker 4: in Valentine's Day?
- 25:32Speaker 2: Do you Okay? I saw this person in the Facebook
- 25:35Speaker 2: group and I thought it was a good conversation to
- 25:38Speaker 2: bring to the pod. So this girl posted, I think
- 25:42Speaker 2: or she posted anonymously, and she was saying that she
- 25:45Speaker 2: was just disappointed because she woke up in all day,
- 25:49Speaker 2: say her boyfriend or husband didn't get her anything. He
- 25:53Speaker 2: didn't get her card, he didn't get her flowers, and
- 25:57Speaker 2: she had made like a little gift basket for him.
- 25:59Speaker 2: She got him flowers, she bought all this stuff to
- 26:01Speaker 2: cook the dinner, and he didn't do anything. And I
- 26:06Speaker 2: opened the comments and I was like a little bit
- 26:09Speaker 2: surprised by the responses because a lot of the advice
- 26:12Speaker 2: was like, you should communicate this to him, that you
- 26:15Speaker 2: have expectations of what you want.
- 26:17Speaker 1: What's wrong with that?
- 26:19Speaker 2: Because Okay, so my thing is for a lot of
- 26:21Speaker 2: things I agree with, like you have to communicate because
- 26:24Speaker 2: there are things Haley and I have different brains. Our
- 26:27Speaker 2: brains work differently, so there are things where I'm like,
- 26:29Speaker 2: I have to communicate that if I have that expectation,
- 26:32Speaker 2: I can't just expect her to read my mind. But
- 26:34Speaker 2: when it comes to a universal holiday like Valentine's Day,
- 26:38Speaker 2: especially in a relationship, and maybe I'm wrong for this,
- 26:43Speaker 2: but where there's a man and a woman, I feel
- 26:46Speaker 2: like the woman shouldn't have to communicate that she would
- 26:49Speaker 2: like a card or flowers or something tiny to acknowledge
- 26:54Speaker 2: the day.
- 26:54Speaker 1: So I like agree with you, but I also feel
- 27:00Speaker 1: like men are kind of dumb, sometimes present company excluded.
- 27:06Speaker 4: No, I agree that there are several.
- 27:08Speaker 1: Men that are just dim wits and they just don't
- 27:13Speaker 1: like there's a lot of comments of people being like
- 27:16Speaker 1: does he show up for you in life? Like is
- 27:18Speaker 1: he a good partner to you? And she I think
- 27:20Speaker 1: she was responding like, yes, he shows up or something
- 27:22Speaker 1: like that, and I'm like, that's what really matters if
- 27:25Speaker 1: this guy like doesn't. I don't know, I really for
- 27:31Speaker 1: some reason, Like I was also one of those people
- 27:33Speaker 1: that was like, commute, I think you need to either
- 27:34Speaker 1: tell him that you like want to like celebrate Valentine's
- 27:37Speaker 1: Day and like make it a thing. But if he's
- 27:38Speaker 1: a good partner, like if he's like not a good
- 27:40Speaker 1: partner and he's not showing up for you, and he's
- 27:42Speaker 1: not like acknowledging you and he's not making you feel
- 27:44Speaker 1: special on your birthday or like whatever. Then he just
- 27:48Speaker 1: sucks and you like, that's to me a red flag.
- 27:50Speaker 1: But like I just for some reason, I think some
- 27:52Speaker 1: men Valentine's Day is just like.
- 27:57Speaker 2: I just feel like that on the ground to have
- 28:00Speaker 2: to like like someone showing up for you, Like if
- 28:02Speaker 2: you choose to be in a relationship with someone, the
- 28:05Speaker 2: bare minimum is showing up for each other. And that's
- 28:08Speaker 2: why Valentine's Day even though here's the thing, I think
- 28:11Speaker 2: Valentine's Day is like a capitalist like it's a people spend.
- 28:15Speaker 2: It's crazy like what Valentine's Day has become, and like
- 28:18Speaker 2: what it is. I think sometimes I'm like, this just
- 28:22Speaker 2: feels like an excuse for companies to make money. Yeah,
- 28:26Speaker 2: but I do think that our expectations should be a
- 28:30Speaker 2: little bit higher for the people in our lives that
- 28:32Speaker 2: we choose to spend our time with when it's everywhere.
- 28:35Speaker 1: I was born on this one too, because I saw
- 28:37Speaker 1: the same posts and I was like, oh, like my
- 28:41Speaker 1: knee jerk is to be like screw him, he sucks.
- 28:45Speaker 1: I was really thinking about it, and I was just
- 28:47Speaker 1: like I do think some people are just like oblivious
- 28:51Speaker 1: or like.
- 28:53Speaker 2: Yeah, that's hard.
- 28:55Speaker 5: I need to communicate that she expects a gift on
- 28:57Speaker 5: her birthday.
- 28:58Speaker 1: That that is what I'm not even like maybe like
- 29:02Speaker 1: I think also maybe like he got overwhelmed, and it's
- 29:05Speaker 1: like does she want to like do a big, nice dinner,
- 29:08Speaker 1: does she want to do a thing? Like what what
- 29:10Speaker 1: are your expected? Some people want to be like razzled
- 29:13Speaker 1: and dazzled.
- 29:14Speaker 2: It seemed like they were not high. It seems like
- 29:17Speaker 2: if he had acknowledged the day that that would have
- 29:22Speaker 2: been okay with her.
- 29:23Speaker 4: We need to stop. I'm sorry. I hear you, Tanya,
- 29:26Speaker 4: And I.
- 29:28Speaker 5: Appreciate when people show up in life, and you know,
- 29:32Speaker 5: like if someone's a great partner and then they don't
- 29:34Speaker 5: do anything for Valentine's Day, that doesn't automatically make them
- 29:36Speaker 5: a bad partner.
- 29:37Speaker 4: However, I went to.
- 29:40Speaker 5: The grocery store on Valentine's Day and bought flowers. It
- 29:43Speaker 5: took me five minutes and a total of seven dollars
- 29:46Speaker 5: and ninety nine cents, and like that's all you have
- 29:49Speaker 5: to do, you know, like like in some cases, well
- 29:52Speaker 5: you have to just get a bouquet of tulips.
- 29:55Speaker 4: It will take two seconds from your garden.
- 29:56Speaker 1: You can literally go to your garden and pick a
- 29:58Speaker 1: rosa like you just put on their pillow case.
- 30:00Speaker 4: That's all we have to do. Make a card. It
- 30:01Speaker 4: takes two seconds.
- 30:02Speaker 2: I read a little leaf paper out and written a
- 30:07Speaker 2: handwritten letter, and I bet she would have been like,
- 30:09Speaker 2: I feel so loved. I think that's what it is.
- 30:12Speaker 2: It's like I guess, and sometimes even when I have
- 30:15Speaker 2: to communicate with Haley, I'm like, I'm annoyed that I
- 30:17Speaker 2: have to communicate this with you because I don't feel seen,
- 30:20Speaker 2: that you don't already know this, And she's like, I
- 30:22Speaker 2: get it, and I don't want you to not feel seen.
- 30:25Speaker 2: But sometimes our brains don't work the same, so like, right,
- 30:28Speaker 2: it's like communicating that, but when it comes to something
- 30:31Speaker 2: that's so blatantly in your face, and I.
- 30:34Speaker 1: Agree, Wow, I do. I think communication is key. I
- 30:38Speaker 1: think people are just sometimes on totally different wavelengths. Like
- 30:42Speaker 1: I don't think Robbie was like as like thoughtful and
- 30:46Speaker 1: over like you know what I mean, Like he always
- 30:48Speaker 1: makes me feel so special and like these things, and
- 30:50Speaker 1: like he shows up for me in ways and you know,
- 30:53Speaker 1: randomly bring me flat, you know what I mean, like
- 30:54Speaker 1: that type of stuff. I don't think he always had
- 30:56Speaker 1: that in him. I think I showed him that, Like
- 30:59Speaker 1: I am that way and he wants to meet me
- 31:01Speaker 1: where I am? Do you get what I'm saying? And
- 31:04Speaker 1: I thinks a.
- 31:04Speaker 2: Great guy, this girl gave him the back.
- 31:07Speaker 1: No, I know, but maybe next year he'll like see
- 31:09Speaker 1: that and he'll want to meet her there. Like we
- 31:11Speaker 1: don't know. This could have been their first Valentine's Day.
- 31:13Speaker 1: It seemed like it was their first Valentine's Day. Oh
- 31:16Speaker 1: do you get what I'm saying? So like he doesn't know.
- 31:18Speaker 1: He probably just like not even cared about this holiday
- 31:21Speaker 1: his whole life, and he probably feels like a total
- 31:26Speaker 1: dim wat that he didn't have anything for her. He's embarrassed,
- 31:29Speaker 1: so he's just like whatever, saying whatever to her.
- 31:32Speaker 2: If you're listening, Anonymous, I need an update if he
- 31:35Speaker 2: had duh, if he seemed disappointed in himself, or if
- 31:40Speaker 2: he made up for it with something else the next
- 31:43Speaker 2: day or the over the weekend.
- 31:46Speaker 1: Yeah, we need a little more on this. Maybe Sam
- 31:48Speaker 1: can reach out on the Facebook group.
- 31:49Speaker 5: If there is Alison got me extremely thoughtful, much more
- 31:54Speaker 5: thoughtful than my gift was to her she got she
- 31:56Speaker 5: got me this incredible assortment of gifts and Fountain's Day.
- 32:01Speaker 5: I don't mean to make this about gender, because gender
- 32:03Speaker 5: is a construct, and you know, people can celebrate different ways.
- 32:05Speaker 5: But I feel like the man should get nothing and
- 32:08Speaker 5: the women should get a lot of attention and love
- 32:10Speaker 5: and you know in gifts and that like this is
- 32:13Speaker 5: a holiday for uh that's supposed to be focused on women,
- 32:15Speaker 5: in my opinion, So the fact that he got a
- 32:19Speaker 5: basket from her and she got nothing is like it
- 32:22Speaker 5: sent me and I don't know, I started screaming when
- 32:24Speaker 5: I read this. I'm sorry, I'm sorry, Anonymous. I don't
- 32:27Speaker 5: want to make this worse than it already is. But
- 32:29Speaker 5: like I was just like flabbergasted.
- 32:31Speaker 2: No, I was not.
- 32:33Speaker 1: I guess it's like, let's open the lines.
- 32:38Speaker 2: Let's expect more from people, is my my my takeaway.
- 32:45Speaker 1: I think expect less.
- 32:46Speaker 2: Wow, No, no's but you also have an extremely thoughtful partner. Me, yeah,
- 32:57Speaker 2: who is like so like I think it's to expect
- 33:00Speaker 2: to less. No.
- 33:01Speaker 1: Yes, But what I'm saying is I don't think that
- 33:04Speaker 1: is that was like who he was until he met me.
- 33:07Speaker 1: Do you get what I'm saying.
- 33:09Speaker 2: Did you have to communicate that you wanted flowers on
- 33:11Speaker 2: Valentine's Day?
- 33:12Speaker 1: No? But I let me tell you what I did.
- 33:14Speaker 1: I write him cards every single day, Like I show
- 33:18Speaker 1: up in a way where I think, did.
- 33:19Speaker 2: You want to communicate that or did he just see
- 33:22Speaker 2: what you were doing and then said.
- 33:23Speaker 1: It's hard let me match this. I don't remember, if
- 33:26Speaker 1: I'm being totally honest, but I've had to communicate a
- 33:28Speaker 1: lot of expectations around like birthdays or things like that,
- 33:31Speaker 1: like yeah.
- 33:34Speaker 2: Yeah, well we love a different opinion on the show.
- 33:39Speaker 2: That's what makes it interesting.
- 33:41Speaker 1: I'm saying anonymous, I was not flabberg acid.
- 33:47Speaker 2: I am expect more. You deserve more.
- 33:50Speaker 1: You deserve you don't expect less. But what is this
- 33:53Speaker 1: saying like expect nothing and then be grateful, like let
- 33:58Speaker 1: people surprise you, but you expect things. That's when you
- 34:02Speaker 1: get let down. You know, you have these like high
- 34:04Speaker 1: expectations and then you just get totally let down.
- 34:08Speaker 2: Yeah, but I don't think her expectations were high. Yeah,
- 34:13Speaker 2: she wasn't like, oh my gosh, she didn't take me
- 34:15Speaker 2: on a romantic getaway. If she said that, I'd be
- 34:19Speaker 2: like Okay, like did he did he write you a card?
- 34:22Speaker 2: Did he do something? Does he show up for you?
- 34:24Speaker 2: It's not always going to be a romantic getaway.
- 34:26Speaker 1: I'm just saying some some man need to be taught.
- 34:30Speaker 4: I'm going to say something controversial here.
- 34:32Speaker 5: If you're dating a guy early on and he starts
- 34:35Speaker 5: and it's like February fifth, and he starts saying, man,
- 34:38Speaker 5: Valentin's Day.
- 34:39Speaker 4: Is just a it's just a Hollmark holiday.
- 34:41Speaker 5: To be prepared.
- 34:45Speaker 1: I heard women say that, Like women say that and
- 34:48Speaker 1: sometimes it's just a holiday, and so like it's not
- 34:52Speaker 1: what it's not all what we all think it is.
- 34:55Speaker 2: And if they believe that, if the women, if the
- 34:58Speaker 2: if someone says that and they mean it, well that's
- 35:00Speaker 2: their truth.
- 35:01Speaker 1: Who are we to poo poo their truth.
- 35:03Speaker 2: We have to take it for fa But if their
- 35:05Speaker 2: partner is like poopooing on it, and they're like, well,
- 35:07Speaker 2: I don't want to feel like I have any expectations.
- 35:10Speaker 2: So I'm just gonna to not disappoint myself. I'm just
- 35:13Speaker 2: gonna say, yeah, it's not it's a made up holiday.
- 35:17Speaker 1: Anyway, Well we'll never know the answer'll never know.
- 35:21Speaker 2: But Haley love like Hailey's favorite holiday is Valentine's Day.
- 35:24Speaker 2: So I go, I'm like, I am not super like,
- 35:28Speaker 2: I'm not. I don't need a lot.
- 35:31Speaker 1: I always get really tough because Robbie's Birthday is always
- 35:34Speaker 1: like a week after Valentine's Day, so it's like back
- 35:36Speaker 1: to back, and I'm like, which one do I like
- 35:40Speaker 1: go all out for? You know, it's the birthday.
- 35:43Speaker 2: Spoiler alert, So you didn't do anything for Valentine's Day? No?
- 35:47Speaker 1: I did brought for him and the kids. I got
- 35:48Speaker 1: the chocolates and bat them all cards. Oh yeah, please, yeah.
- 35:52Speaker 5: This poster has been they've been together two years. By
- 35:55Speaker 5: the way, this person, I'll read the post.
- 35:58Speaker 2: Really.
- 35:58Speaker 5: I know we've talked about this ban. Did anyone else
- 36:01Speaker 5: not receive flowers or any sort of acknowledgment for Valentine's
- 36:03Speaker 5: Safe from your significant other? I bought the food for
- 36:05Speaker 5: our special dinner, we cooked it together, but not a card,
- 36:08Speaker 5: flowers or anything. We've been together for two years. I
- 36:10Speaker 5: got him flowers, made a little basket for him, and
- 36:12Speaker 5: I literally got nothing. I know it's not about that,
- 36:14Speaker 5: but I just want to feel loved and noticed. But
- 36:18Speaker 5: we will be reaching out to this person.
- 36:20Speaker 1: So the two years, does sorren that suspicions.
- 36:25Speaker 4: I'm curious if like last year was you know.
- 36:28Speaker 1: Right, like what happened last year? We need to know.
- 36:30Speaker 1: We need more information for me to really fully assess
- 36:32Speaker 1: we will.
- 36:33Speaker 4: Reach out to.
- 36:33Speaker 2: It's almost worse if it's the first year, because the
- 36:36Speaker 2: first year is when everything's like grand and like big,
- 36:39Speaker 2: and you make everything a big deal. So I think
- 36:42Speaker 2: your theory, I disagree because I'm like, if it was
- 36:45Speaker 2: his furse, I would hope that he was, like, I
- 36:48Speaker 2: am ready to just shower her with like thoughtfulness.
- 36:55Speaker 1: I need more info before we continue this conversation.
- 37:02Speaker 2: And like and also when we when we reach out,
- 37:05Speaker 2: does he does he ever randomly surprise you with flowers?
- 37:08Speaker 1: Does he ever write to you thoughtful? In other ways?
- 37:10Speaker 1: That's what we need on other days, on other days,
- 37:13Speaker 1: not just February fourteenth. Okay, there's a couple of things
- 37:19Speaker 1: I want to talk about.
- 37:20Speaker 2: I do too. Oh, I wonder if they're the same
- 37:23Speaker 2: thing though, your brick, yeah, talk about the break yeah,
- 37:28Speaker 2: and traders. But yeah, I got bricked. So we're going
- 37:32Speaker 2: to take a break and we'll be right back. We're back. So,
- 37:53Speaker 2: speaking of having a partner who listens and cares. I
- 37:57Speaker 2: have been talking about wanting a brick for like I've
- 38:01Speaker 2: talked about on the podcast, yeah, like almost a year now. Basically,
- 38:04Speaker 2: it's a little device that you you scan your phone
- 38:09Speaker 2: and you select the apps that you want it to lock.
- 38:13Speaker 2: And so, for instance, I started doing it. I wanted
- 38:18Speaker 2: to go to bed without being on my phone. So
- 38:21Speaker 2: we put the brick in the kitchen. So and you
- 38:23Speaker 2: have to scan your phone on the brick and it
- 38:25Speaker 2: locks everything, and then we go to bed and then
- 38:28Speaker 2: I cannot use those apps until I can.
- 38:31Speaker 1: Tell the brick which apps. Though, doesn't just shut your
- 38:33Speaker 1: phone down.
- 38:34Speaker 2: No, no, no, you select what you want. So I
- 38:35Speaker 2: do all my social media, Okay, I leave my messages
- 38:39Speaker 2: and my phone on because I don't want to like
- 38:41Speaker 2: be without that in case there's.
- 38:42Speaker 6: Heavens, in case there's an emergency.
- 38:48Speaker 2: And so it's been amazing and I feel like it's
- 38:51Speaker 2: going to help me so much because a lot of
- 38:53Speaker 2: times when I'm like doing working or like trying to
- 38:55Speaker 2: film a video, sometimes I'll just get distracted and get
- 38:57Speaker 2: on my phone and then I'm like locked in on
- 39:00Speaker 2: my phone.
- 39:00Speaker 1: For like a long time beyond.
- 39:02Speaker 2: So this prevents you from doing it, but you're also
- 39:05Speaker 2: able to like, let's say I brought it in the
- 39:09Speaker 2: car and then we went to dinner, which we're doing
- 39:11Speaker 2: tomorrow night. Yeah, so on for that uh huh, I
- 39:14Speaker 2: could scan it in the car, scan my phone in
- 39:18Speaker 2: the car, turn off all my social media apps, and
- 39:20Speaker 2: then go to dinner. And that way I could turn
- 39:22Speaker 2: off everything, and that way I have no distractions while
- 39:25Speaker 2: I'm at dinner with you. It would be like not
- 39:27Speaker 2: having a phone.
- 39:28Speaker 1: So do you have this brick on you? Now?
- 39:29Speaker 2: I don't have it on me now?
- 39:30Speaker 1: Oh but why would you like put it in your
- 39:32Speaker 1: purse if you want to like travel with like, you
- 39:33Speaker 1: could travel with it.
- 39:34Speaker 2: Yeah, and you just put it anywhere. You can take
- 39:37Speaker 2: it anywhere, doesn't have to be connected to anything your phone.
- 39:40Speaker 1: Just like how does it do that?
- 39:42Speaker 2: I don't know, but it's amazing. And granted I did
- 39:45Speaker 2: have a moment of being like, is it sad that
- 39:47Speaker 2: I need this for self control?
- 39:48Speaker 1: Sure?
- 39:50Speaker 2: But I'm grateful for it.
- 39:51Speaker 1: Nonetheless, Yeah, you know, sometimes we all need a teacher.
- 39:53Speaker 2: Because I love social media like it, ew, it's fun.
- 39:57Speaker 2: I love scrolling, I love learning, I love not learning.
- 40:00Speaker 1: I just I love it so much on social media.
- 40:03Speaker 2: And sometimes I just like to laugh. Sometimes I want
- 40:05Speaker 2: to cry, sometimes I want to stretch my brain, but.
- 40:11Speaker 1: My algorithm is pretty locked in.
- 40:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I too, it just because we're getting laughter crying
- 40:17Speaker 2: and so, yeah, I love it and so and then
- 40:20Speaker 2: I also wanted a Ninja crispy.
- 40:23Speaker 5: Oh my gosh, now that makes like ice cream or something, right, Ninja, Yeah, that'll.
- 40:31Speaker 2: Be next on my list. It's an airfier, okay, but
- 40:36Speaker 2: I have an air fire from like nineteen seventy, like
- 40:39Speaker 2: it was so old and so not that old, but
- 40:41Speaker 2: I had a really old one, and I started reading
- 40:44Speaker 2: about it's funny because micro classics.
- 40:47Speaker 1: Yeah, but.
- 40:49Speaker 2: I have to do so many things that are unhealthy
- 40:51Speaker 2: that me hearing about microplastics is like pretty hypocritical. But
- 40:56Speaker 2: I was like, we need a new one anyway, so
- 40:58Speaker 2: why not get a healthier And so I had mentioned
- 41:01Speaker 2: the Ninja crispy because anything I put in that I
- 41:04Speaker 2: want crisp the air fier would not do it. This
- 41:07Speaker 2: thing crisp it up. It's amazing. One.
- 41:11Speaker 1: I too, stopped using my air fryer because it was
- 41:13Speaker 1: like heating heating plastic, like like I try to avoid plastic.
- 41:20Speaker 1: I don't put plastic in the microwave like heating. So
- 41:23Speaker 1: the fact that my airfryer was like hot plastic was
- 41:26Speaker 1: like really stressful when I was doing all my Hashi motives,
- 41:29Speaker 1: So I really I gave it to a family member
- 41:31Speaker 1: and I haven't had one since, and now I think
- 41:35Speaker 1: I'm gonna dat is.
- 41:39Speaker 2: It comes in glass, and Hailey got the one that
- 41:41Speaker 2: had three different sizes so you can cook your food.
- 41:44Speaker 2: And then it comes with the lid so you can
- 41:45Speaker 2: just take it out of the air fire and if
- 41:47Speaker 2: you have like leftovers, just something, put the lid on
- 41:49Speaker 2: and then store it. It's like Tumperware. This is not
- 41:55Speaker 2: sponsored by Ninja, but if you want it to be Ninja.
- 41:59Speaker 1: Like, the only thing in my house that's still plastic
- 42:01Speaker 1: is my blender. I'm like, how have we? I mean,
- 42:03Speaker 1: watch somebody tell me that there's like a glass blender
- 42:05Speaker 1: out there? Is there a glass blender? I've tried to
- 42:07Speaker 1: find it.
- 42:08Speaker 2: Wait, I a glass I thought all all my blenders
- 42:12Speaker 2: are glass. What what blender do you have?
- 42:16Speaker 1: I don't know the name of Vitamix. That's I've had
- 42:20Speaker 1: it for a long time.
- 42:21Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure ours is glass.
- 42:23Speaker 1: The blender itself said, can you do a quick search
- 42:27Speaker 1: really fast just to see if there's any blenders that
- 42:30Speaker 1: are glass? Because I tried. I've like searched again with
- 42:34Speaker 1: all my Hashimoto stuff. I searched for a glass blender
- 42:37Speaker 1: and I could not find one. Am I that.
- 42:41Speaker 4: Austro makes a blender that is glass?
- 42:43Speaker 1: Great? So I'm not dumb.
- 42:45Speaker 4: You know a lot of blenders are glass.
- 42:48Speaker 2: What are you talking about, the part that like the ingredient, Yeah,
- 42:55Speaker 2: like the clear part.
- 42:56Speaker 1: Yeah, yours is glass?
- 42:57Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, yeah, I have.
- 43:01Speaker 2: One that's like a smaller version. It's plastic, but.
- 43:05Speaker 1: I need to link to that.
- 43:06Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:08Speaker 1: And he had six the year of the horse, I know.
- 43:11Speaker 1: And I'm like, I'm here blending my albond milk and
- 43:14Speaker 1: microplastics for the last like ten years.
- 43:16Speaker 2: I think you're okay, you're doing a lot of other things.
- 43:18Speaker 1: Right, Wait, there was something that we were traders. No no, no, oh,
- 43:23Speaker 1: oh okay. We did something over the weekend, and I
- 43:28Speaker 1: am shook. And I have to admit it because I
- 43:33Speaker 1: have been judging these people my whole life.
- 43:37Speaker 2: I love a moment of accountability.
- 43:39Speaker 1: Yeah, so here's my accountability. I have been judging PEPSI
- 43:46Speaker 1: drinker is my whole life?
- 43:48Speaker 4: What good?
- 43:50Speaker 1: I've always been a Coca Cola girlly. Okay, I don't
- 43:53Speaker 1: drink much soda. Yeah, but when I enjoy, I'm going
- 43:55Speaker 1: to get a nice cold can of Coca cola. Okay,
- 44:01Speaker 1: bottle of Coca cola like a glass bottle, yeah, straight
- 44:07Speaker 1: from the teat. So we did a taste test of
- 44:13Speaker 1: Coca cola and pepsi this weekend, side by side. One
- 44:18Speaker 1: filled with Coca cola, one filled with pepsi. I take
- 44:22Speaker 1: a sip of one, taste a little water down. I'm like, mm,
- 44:27Speaker 1: take the taste sip of the other. One tastes pretty good.
- 44:29Speaker 1: So I said, let me get a fresh batch, because
- 44:31Speaker 1: maybe one of them is water down. Robbie throws out
- 44:34Speaker 1: the ice, fills it with new ice, pours it back in.
- 44:38Speaker 1: Same thing. This one's a little water down. I like
- 44:41Speaker 1: this one better. It's gotta be Coca cola, right, it's pepsi. Wow.
- 44:46Speaker 1: I like pepsi better. I like pepsi better, and I
- 44:52Speaker 1: have been judging pepsi drinkers my whole life. Wow.
- 44:56Speaker 2: So you're you're gonna be a pepsi girl.
- 44:58Speaker 1: So here to say that I am officially a PEPSI
- 45:01Speaker 1: girly goodbye to the water down Coca Cola.
- 45:05Speaker 2: What about doctor Pepper? Do you like doctor Pepper?
- 45:07Speaker 1: I do like I do enjoy Doctor Pepper.
- 45:09Speaker 2: You should do. You should add doctor Pepper and the
- 45:11Speaker 2: next time the taste tests and see which one needs.
- 45:13Speaker 1: I would know what doctor Pepper was, though it did
- 45:15Speaker 1: tastes so much different, So do those hardly.
- 45:20Speaker 2: I think they have a very distinct taste. I feel
- 45:24Speaker 2: like I could do one of those blind uh.
- 45:26Speaker 1: But to behind the Carver box, please do it. I
- 45:29Speaker 1: love watching those.
- 45:30Speaker 2: I love watching them too, But you know, I'm so cocky.
- 45:33Speaker 2: I think I could do all like coke zeros from
- 45:36Speaker 2: different fast food restaurants and guess them, that's.
- 45:39Speaker 1: Sick, that's what It's not an addiction, and I haven't,
- 45:44Speaker 1: but like, I am so shook to my core that
- 45:46Speaker 1: I'm And then Robbie did it as well, and he's
- 45:48Speaker 1: a Coca Cola guy, and I was like proud. A
- 45:51Speaker 1: house divided, A house divided, A house that doesn't have
- 45:55Speaker 1: soda either way, yeah, but divided nonetheless, a house that.
- 45:59Speaker 2: Would be grateful for a nip of either in the
- 46:01Speaker 2: right moment.
- 46:03Speaker 1: I can't believe it. Like when I go to a
- 46:05Speaker 1: restaurant and like on the off day that I'm getting
- 46:08Speaker 1: a soda and I'm like, do you have cook cold?
- 46:11Speaker 1: And they said, no, we'll have pepsi. I was like, no.
- 46:15Speaker 1: For years, I'm pretty.
- 46:16Speaker 2: Sure our little fish shock only has pepsi or no,
- 46:19Speaker 2: somewhere that I love only has pepsi, and I'm always like,
- 46:22Speaker 2: but I also like it too.
- 46:23Speaker 1: Oh my god, it's delicious. The Polar Bear knows what's up?
- 46:28Speaker 5: Or is the polar Yeah, the Polar Bear is coke,
- 46:32Speaker 5: but Pepsi's been doing a lot of ads with the
- 46:33Speaker 5: Polar Bear.
- 46:34Speaker 1: Oh my, it's brilliant. One the Polar Bear PEPSI call me.
- 46:41Speaker 2: Wait before we go? What did you think of Traders?
- 46:44Speaker 1: Okay, we have to talk about it on Thursday because
- 46:46Speaker 1: it's too much.
- 46:47Speaker 2: It's too much.
- 46:48Speaker 1: It's too much. I have too many thoughts.
- 46:50Speaker 2: Okay, okay, fine, we will be back on Thursday.
- 46:53Speaker 1: We have to also say one more thing before we go.
- 46:55Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, we really have to go. Uh. I
- 46:59Speaker 1: have been slacking on my Love Island daily recaps because
- 47:02Speaker 1: we went away and so I wasn't watching it for
- 47:04Speaker 1: a couple of days. But I am caught up, So
- 47:05Speaker 1: I'm going to do a whole recap. Don't you worry.
- 47:10Speaker 2: Who's asking for that?
- 47:11Speaker 1: The Love Island sands. Oh oh, people were do you
- 47:14Speaker 1: have anything now? They missed my daily recaps, and I
- 47:16Speaker 1: was like.
- 47:16Speaker 2: Wow, I should do like a ten minute scrubbing in
- 47:19Speaker 2: exclusive where you just talk to yourself about Love Island.
- 47:22Speaker 1: I could thing as I could.
- 47:24Speaker 2: I mean, I'm sure they would love for you to
- 47:26Speaker 2: do that. Easton so doing fashion segments for girls.
- 47:31Speaker 6: I.
- 47:33Speaker 1: Honestly could because the tea is piping. Wow, I hate
- 47:38Speaker 1: that term. Oh it did choge it?
- 47:43Speaker 2: Okay, We'll be back on Thursday with Love Trader thoughts
- 47:47Speaker 2: and a Dear Bonia episode. We love you so much.
- 47:50Speaker 2: I love you bye
