- 0:02Speaker 1: What's up, everybody. Welcome to JFK Book Reviews, a division
- 0:06Speaker 1: of the Lone Gun and Podcast. I am one of
- 0:08Speaker 1: your hosts, Rob Clark, and along with me as always
- 0:11Speaker 1: Joe Borelli, and today we're going to be reviewing the
- 0:15Speaker 1: book Matrix for Assassination by Oh, you wouldn't know it
- 0:25Speaker 1: by looking at the cover, Joe, but it is by
- 0:27Speaker 1: Richard Gilbride.
- 0:29Speaker 2: I thought JFK Conspiracy wrote it.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Yeah, well that's a possibility too, but yeah, no, it's
- 0:37Speaker 1: written by Richard Gilbride.
- 0:42Speaker 2: Yeah. And the book is comprised of three hundred and
- 0:46Speaker 2: ninety eight pages, and there's over three hundred pictures intertwined
- 0:52Speaker 2: between those three hundred ninety eight pages. There is a
- 0:56Speaker 2: bibliography section and also footnotes section that lasts twenty eight pages. Yep,
- 1:03Speaker 2: there you go wrong. Doesn't have an index, but it
- 1:09Speaker 2: has a section called the Names at the end, which
- 1:13Speaker 2: kind of separates persons of interest in geographical area Dallas,
- 1:19Speaker 2: dw Orleans or Cia type of thing. And so the author,
- 1:26Speaker 2: Richard Gilbride, has written three books, JFK, Inside Job and
- 1:32Speaker 2: The Secret Murder of Brian Jones, who was a co
- 1:35Speaker 2: founder of the Rolling Stones band. But in terms of
- 1:41Speaker 2: this book, Matrix for Assassination JFK Conspiracy was published in
- 1:44Speaker 2: two thousand and nine by Trafford Publishing. Mister Gilbride was
- 1:50Speaker 2: a schoolboy in nineteen sixty three at the time of
- 1:52Speaker 2: President JFK's assassination, and he is a former chemist and
- 1:57Speaker 2: graphic designer who now operates a small business repair operates
- 2:03Speaker 2: a small home repair business in North Carolina. You can
- 2:07Speaker 2: get this book on kindle for nine to ninety nine.
- 2:11Speaker 2: On paperback new from Amazon for about thirty three books
- 2:16Speaker 2: and used for about five books cheaper than that about
- 2:19Speaker 2: twenty seven dollars. And it's a wide ranging book and
- 2:25Speaker 2: it definitely rob has a conspiracy.
- 2:28Speaker 1: Lead to it. Yeah, it sure does, Joe. I mean,
- 2:32Speaker 1: this book has about, I don't know, roughly fifteen chapters,
- 2:36Speaker 1: and it starts off with the death of Marilyn Monroe.
- 2:42Speaker 1: So that kind of tells you where we're going with
- 2:44Speaker 1: this book. And you know, it starts off with a
- 2:48Speaker 1: conspiracy within a conspiracy and doesn't stop from there. I mean,
- 2:55Speaker 1: he gives and looks at Operation forty Mexico City, Harvey
- 2:58Speaker 1: and Lee, what was going on in the school with
- 3:01Speaker 1: depository Cia allegations, mafia allegations, connections between even you know,
- 3:10Speaker 1: Mary Pinchot Meyer, Cord Meyer, all the stuff UFOs, all
- 3:18Speaker 1: kinds of stuff. And I actually had the privilege of
- 3:23Speaker 1: interviewing and talking to Richard Gilbride on the show some
- 3:28Speaker 1: nine years ago, Joe, if you want to go back
- 3:32Speaker 1: and check those out, it's episodes eighty six, eighty seven,
- 3:36Speaker 1: and eighty eight, and we talked all about his other
- 3:41Speaker 1: book at the time, JFK Inside Job, and then I
- 3:48Speaker 1: had him back on for episode one and two where
- 3:52Speaker 1: we kind of dove headfirst into the whole UFO alien conspiracy,
- 4:01Speaker 1: the whole Fred Cristman thing and and all of that.
- 4:06Speaker 1: So that's episodes eighty six, eighty seven, eighty eight, and
- 4:08Speaker 1: one oh two. If you'd like to go back in
- 4:11Speaker 1: the archives, folks either here on YouTube or at spreaker
- 4:17Speaker 1: wherever you know find audio podcasts will listen to go
- 4:20Speaker 1: back and check those out and see what he has
- 4:23Speaker 1: to say more in detail at the time that I
- 4:31Speaker 1: got this book, because of course, you know, if you
- 4:35Speaker 1: look the book up on Amazon, you can see when
- 4:37Speaker 1: you when you purchased it, and it tells you you
- 4:40Speaker 1: last purchase this item in July of twenty fourteen. And
- 4:45Speaker 1: so I've had this book for eleven years, and as
- 4:48Speaker 1: you can see, I've been through it quite quite a bit.
- 4:56Speaker 1: You know, There's there's sections that I've highlighted. This is
- 4:58Speaker 1: what I do when when I find things that, you know,
- 5:02Speaker 1: kind of make me go hmmm in a book, you know,
- 5:05Speaker 1: I kind of bookmarked the page so I can I
- 5:07Speaker 1: can find it easily later. Some of the things that
- 5:13Speaker 1: I liked about this book is that it addresses so
- 5:16Speaker 1: many different theories with his own spin on it. For instance,
- 5:21Speaker 1: you know, when you can talk about ballistics and he
- 5:25Speaker 1: can go into whether or not the manly r krcano
- 5:32Speaker 1: that was found on the sixth floor that day matches
- 5:35Speaker 1: the krkano that is at the archives now, and he
- 5:39Speaker 1: puts them, you know, one on top of the other
- 5:42Speaker 1: and shows you very clearly that something ain't right. The
- 5:47Speaker 1: scopes or different links, different heights. It's it's very weird.
- 5:52Speaker 1: So there's lots of things that he points out that
- 5:55Speaker 1: are good facts to kind of contemplate, you know, Like
- 6:01Speaker 1: he says, there's you know, when we're talking about ballistics,
- 6:05Speaker 1: we're talking about see three ninety nine for instance, that
- 6:09Speaker 1: there's six striation marks along that bullet. Right, we kind
- 6:15Speaker 1: of talked about recently on the show, how as a
- 6:18Speaker 1: bullet goes through the rifle it leaves these striations or
- 6:24Speaker 1: rifling marks as it travels through the barrel.
- 6:27Speaker 2: Yep.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Well, according to gil Bride see three ninety nine, the
- 6:32Speaker 1: magic bullet has six triations, at least it did when
- 6:38Speaker 1: it was taken into evidence, you know, initially and then
- 6:45Speaker 1: later the bullet that the HSCA would look at or
- 6:51Speaker 1: be made available had only four, which is odd. I
- 6:57Speaker 1: don't know if you didn't turn the bullet enough to
- 6:59Speaker 1: see the other two, or what's going on here. But
- 7:03Speaker 1: you know, there there's stuff like that all through this book,
- 7:07Speaker 1: and there's enough I would say what he would call
- 7:11Speaker 1: new information or new ways of looking at the evidence,
- 7:15Speaker 1: which I can appreciate thinking outside the box, you know,
- 7:18Speaker 1: when it comes to you know, things that we know,
- 7:21Speaker 1: things that we think we know. I mean, even dives
- 7:24Speaker 1: into Mexico City and and the ledger that Oswald signed
- 7:30Speaker 1: at the hotel Hotel de Commercio in Mexico City, and
- 7:35Speaker 1: Oswald wasn't signing his real name. And there's there's some
- 7:41Speaker 1: days where it looks like it definitely is not Oswald's
- 7:44Speaker 1: writing in the book.
- 7:48Speaker 3: And it's just odd things that you know that that
- 7:53Speaker 3: that make you go hmm. But uh, you know, I
- 8:00Speaker 3: can say, Joe that.
- 8:05Speaker 4: All in all.
- 8:08Speaker 1: An intriguing book, is it worth thirty three dollars? I
- 8:14Speaker 1: would say no, get the kindle version. But again, if
- 8:17Speaker 1: you're a nerd that likes to hold books in your
- 8:19Speaker 1: hand and put them on your shelf and have them
- 8:22Speaker 1: to reference and stick notes in them, like me, then
- 8:27Speaker 1: spend the money. But Joe, give us your impressions of
- 8:30Speaker 1: the book and your rating, sir.
- 8:32Speaker 2: Okay. So you know, we did an episode a couple
- 8:37Speaker 2: months ago, episode three forty eight of the Long Gun podcast,
- 8:40Speaker 2: where we explored the possibility that JFK was killed because
- 8:44Speaker 2: of his interest in UFO disclosure. And I think we
- 8:49Speaker 2: debunked a lot of that, and I think the UFO
- 8:54Speaker 2: research community, the ufologists stretch a lot of things in
- 8:58Speaker 2: this way. Now with Jak concerned about unidentified aerial phenomena
- 9:04Speaker 2: the UAP s as their call today, indeed he was,
- 9:07Speaker 2: but that was because he was worried the Russians might
- 9:10Speaker 2: mistake a UFO as an American aircraft and launched a
- 9:14Speaker 2: retaliatory strike of the United States. And I'm not a
- 9:20Speaker 2: huge fan of the you know, linking everything together type
- 9:25Speaker 2: of thing with Marilyn Monroe and you know, which is
- 9:29Speaker 2: debatable and the UFO issue with JFK, because I think it.
- 9:35Speaker 4: It's somewhat delegitimizes a lot of the document researchers that
- 9:45Speaker 4: are out there and gives the low nutters and a
- 9:48Speaker 4: lot of the mainstream media people like, look, these guys
- 9:50Speaker 4: are crazy type of thing. But but there is really
- 9:55Speaker 4: interesting aspects to this book, and I think it might
- 9:58Speaker 4: be for the people kind of more getting into it
- 10:02Speaker 4: more compared to document researchers, maybe people interested in UFOs
- 10:08Speaker 4: that want to get into the JFK assassination. So and all, Rob,
- 10:12Speaker 4: I'm going to give this middle of the road five
- 10:18Speaker 4: point five gone up, how about.
- 10:22Speaker 2: You, sir?
- 10:24Speaker 1: All right, yeah, I'm kind of with you there. As
- 10:28Speaker 1: the book opens with Marilyn Monroe and closes it with aliens,
- 10:33Speaker 1: and you know, everything else is in between. And I
- 10:39Speaker 1: think at the time this book came out in two
- 10:42Speaker 1: thousand and nine, given the environment of the Kennedy research
- 10:50Speaker 1: community at the time, it was a good book with
- 10:55Speaker 1: lots of new nuances and insight into the available evidence.
- 11:00Speaker 1: But with hindsight, looking back and if you know, just
- 11:06Speaker 1: going back to refresh my mind before doing this review,
- 11:09Speaker 1: I'm seeing a lot of obsolete information. Information has been debunked,
- 11:15Speaker 1: you know, like the Mackwalla's fingerprint and and things like
- 11:19Speaker 1: that that are in this book. And you know, I'm
- 11:22Speaker 1: not a fan of the everybody's involved conspiracy either. You know,
- 11:29Speaker 1: you gotta you gotta nail it down for me, Bro,
- 11:31Speaker 1: You can't just it wasn't the mafia, the c i A,
- 11:35Speaker 1: and and aliens and the FBI and uh the military
- 11:42Speaker 1: and LBJ. It wasn't everybody, you know. And while he
- 11:47Speaker 1: examines the evidence in a new way, uh, he kind
- 11:52Speaker 1: of falls into the trap of trying to be on
- 12:03Speaker 1: the fringes of of research at the time and trying
- 12:09Speaker 1: to bring new things out. But you know, like I said,
- 12:13Speaker 1: with with the element of time and introduce this thing,
- 12:16Speaker 1: it doesn't hold up well. Therefore, Joe, I'm going to
- 12:19Speaker 1: give this book a four out of ten. Guns up,
- 12:27Speaker 1: pom pom pom pound.
- 12:32Speaker 4: All right, sir, fair enough, And if you enjoy this
- 12:36Speaker 4: book review, and you'd like to check out our JFK
