- 0:06Speaker 1: And now the mob guys creak on your knees And winged.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Dolce feet.
- 0:37Speaker 3: That's right.
- 0:39Speaker 4: We do call ourselves the Mob Guys.
- 0:45Speaker 5: My name is Craig Colonese. He is Wayne Dolcefino. He
- 0:50Speaker 5: is on special assignment until tomorrow. And I'll continue to
- 0:53Speaker 5: mention this. We will be live at the Texas Faith
- 0:55Speaker 5: Festival in Austin or just outside of Austin tomorrow. for
- 0:59Speaker 5: a two-hour show, and we look forward to talking to
- 1:02Speaker 5: a lot of the speakers that will be a part
- 1:04Speaker 5: of that event, encouraging you to get out to it.
- 1:06Speaker 5: It is a sponsored trip that we're making, working with
- 1:10Speaker 5: the Texas Faith Fest, so a lot to look forward to,
- 1:13Speaker 5: and I think a confirmed discussion with Brandon Gill as
- 1:16Speaker 5: part of it, a Texas politician who is absolutely, I think,
- 1:22Speaker 5: on the rise. I think he's the type of person
- 1:24Speaker 5: that if he keeps this up, as far as the
- 1:26Speaker 5: amount of people who like him conservatively, and the amount
- 1:29Speaker 5: of videos that he makes that go viral. And it's
- 1:32Speaker 5: him just asking simple questions, mostly, in these Congress hearings,
- 1:37Speaker 5: in which someone who's a jackass is sitting on the
- 1:41Speaker 5: other side of the microphone, and he asks very basic
- 1:44Speaker 5: things and they don't want to answer them. Like, he's
- 1:46Speaker 5: outing the problems on the left in a very simple way,
- 1:49Speaker 5: but a very effective way and a very courageous way.
- 1:52Speaker 5: And I think that's one of the reasons he's become
- 1:54Speaker 5: so popular. And if this keeps up, I think there's
- 1:57Speaker 5: a chance that he's the kind of person we're talking
- 1:59Speaker 5: about in a few years running for much bigger offices
- 2:04Speaker 5: than where he is right now.
- 2:05Speaker 6: But we'll see.
- 2:06Speaker 5: But he's tremendously popular right now, and we should be
- 2:09Speaker 5: talking to him live tomorrow on KSEV Radio.
- 2:12Speaker 6: I want to go back to the White House ban.
- 2:15Speaker 6: I did get a text.
- 2:16Speaker 5: Message from a listener that listens to me that doesn't
- 2:19Speaker 5: even live in Texas, so thank you for that, talking
- 2:21Speaker 5: about the federal judge who granted temporary access back.
- 2:25Speaker 6: And I didn't intentionally neglect that.
- 2:28Speaker 5: In the first hour of the show, I know the
- 2:31Speaker 5: White House isn't really letting the reporters in right away.
- 2:34Speaker 5: And MS Now, of all the places, I think is
- 2:37Speaker 5: trying to make the biggest deal of this. All of
- 2:39Speaker 5: this is just, I think, moving parts kind of stuff.
- 2:43Speaker 5: They'll be back in, but it'll be temporary. The 14-day
- 2:46Speaker 5: forced reinstatement and removal of the ban is not a
- 2:50Speaker 5: permanent decision. the federal judge, and a lot of them
- 2:58Speaker 5: temporarily block all kinds of things that President Trump does,
- 3:02Speaker 5: regardless of who appointed them.
- 3:05Speaker 6: Eventually, they have to make an actual ruling.
- 3:06Speaker 5: So I think that's when the case itself is actually
- 3:10Speaker 5: fully determined. And I hate when media overreacts to the
- 3:15Speaker 5: individual moments that are not, in fact, the long-term solution moment.
- 3:19Speaker 6: That's part of the reason I neglected it.
- 3:20Speaker 5: Is that it's not actually the final decision, but it'll
- 3:23Speaker 5: be represented that way on the left. And here, let
- 3:25Speaker 5: me prove my point with some audio. This is MSNOW
- 3:29Speaker 5: standing outside a building, a government facility, demonstrating they can't
- 3:37Speaker 5: get in still, like their press badge is still not working.
- 3:40Speaker 5: And this is several hours after an overnight ruling Changed
- 3:45Speaker 5: it so that they have to be let in for
- 3:46Speaker 5: a a short term period of time for 14 days.
- 3:50Speaker 5: They've removed this ban. A federal judge removed the ban. So, again,
- 3:54Speaker 5: all of this is performative. A media knows that they'll
- 3:57Speaker 5: probably get access later today that the Trump administration is
- 4:01Speaker 5: more concerned about. with a visit from Xi Jinping than
- 4:04Speaker 5: they actually are with turning badges immediately on after a
- 4:08Speaker 5: court ruling and, again, a temporary one. But here, let
- 4:11Speaker 5: me play part of this audio because this is the
- 4:13Speaker 5: thing I hate participating in as a person who does media.
- 4:18Speaker 5: I hate participating in the fake narratives, the short-term narratives,
- 4:22Speaker 5: and the overreaction to the simple stuff that's not the
- 4:25Speaker 5: end of the discussion stuff.
- 4:27Speaker 6: But here we go. Let's play this.
- 4:29Speaker 7: To the White House, and I made it past the
- 4:32Speaker 7: first perimeter fencing that.
- 4:34Speaker 6: Has Secret Service. You can see it there. It's a
- 4:35Speaker 6: little bit more.
- 4:37Speaker 7: fortified right now because of Xi Jinping's visit to the
- 4:40Speaker 7: Chinese president. But I flashed my badge, my White House
- 4:44Speaker 7: hard pass. I was allowed through the first perimeter fencing.
- 4:47Speaker 7: Then I went to the press pass security hut. Again,
- 4:51Speaker 7: made it through the gate, went into the hut where
- 4:55Speaker 7: there are the magnometers, the scanner that you put your
- 4:58Speaker 7: bag through.
- 4:59Speaker 6: You put your badge on.
- 5:02Speaker 6: A pin pad.
- 5:04Speaker 8: You tap it.
- 5:05Speaker 7: You put in your pin, which I did like I
- 5:07Speaker 7: do every time. And it started flashing red.
- 5:11Speaker 9: Oh, no.
- 5:11Speaker 7: Again, it continued to flash red.
- 5:13Speaker 6: The U S secret service.
- 5:15Speaker 7: That was sitting there. What was happening with my badge?
- 5:18Speaker 7: He took the badge. He ran it again. And he said, uh, quote,
- 5:24Speaker 7: it's still being disabled. It's still coming up as disabled.
- 5:28Speaker 7: So that was all that I was able to get
- 5:30Speaker 7: from the secret service. There was no other white house
- 5:33Speaker 7: official nearby.
- 5:34Speaker 6: All right.
- 5:34Speaker 5: So let me, let me explain this again. Cause I
- 5:36Speaker 5: think this kind of thing does deserve a couple minutes. Um, CNN, MSNOW,
- 5:41Speaker 5: all these places know that the difference between a federal
- 5:44Speaker 5: judge ordering something and the compliance with whatever that order
- 5:47Speaker 5: might be, there's a time limit or a, you know,
- 5:51Speaker 5: open amount of time in which the White House is
- 5:55Speaker 5: given an opportunity to comply with the federal judge's order.
- 5:58Speaker 5: So it doesn't have to be immediately. There doesn't have
- 6:00Speaker 5: to be someone sitting at a When a federal judge
- 6:05Speaker 5: is issuing an order that hits a button and turn
- 6:07Speaker 5: something back on, it can take a little while. This
- 6:10Speaker 5: this is not necessarily a defiant act trying to ignore
- 6:14Speaker 5: the judge's ruling. But MS now and other places will
- 6:18Speaker 5: pretend it is. They will get you to overreact to
- 6:21Speaker 5: a very simple thing that happens for, say, a few minutes.
- 6:25Speaker 5: And if they're in later, I'll give you a different example, actually.
- 6:27Speaker 5: Because I really do like these. There was a big
- 6:31Speaker 5: story a few months ago about how the new leadership
- 6:35Speaker 5: at 60 Minutes, one of those individuals is someone who's
- 6:39Speaker 5: not a conservative, but she is someone who very often,
- 6:42Speaker 5: I think, tries to do actual journalism in letting both
- 6:46Speaker 5: sides have a piece of a discussion, letting the left
- 6:49Speaker 5: and the right both give their opinion. And so there's
- 6:51Speaker 5: a 60 Minutes piece. And you probably remember the story.
- 6:55Speaker 5: I'm not even going to give you all the details. Essentially,
- 6:57Speaker 5: The leadership, Barry Weiss and others, were saying that this
- 7:02Speaker 5: is too biased. It's too one sided. You need to
- 7:04Speaker 5: at least get the White House and representatives from Trump's
- 7:08Speaker 5: administration on the record before we run this on 60 Minutes.
- 7:12Speaker 5: So she didn't ban a story. She didn't dump it
- 7:16Speaker 5: in the waste bin and say, we're never going to
- 7:18Speaker 5: run this. She didn't do anything remotely close to what
- 7:21Speaker 5: media pretended it was. And a whole bunch of media
- 7:24Speaker 5: said that, you know, 60 Minutes is now corrupt.
- 7:26Speaker 6: They're They're doing things to protect the Trump administration. They overreacted.
- 7:32Speaker 5: If you've ever been in a situation where someone wants
- 7:34Speaker 5: to do you harm, like anybody wants to harm, it
- 7:37Speaker 5: can be in anything professional. I don't know, a life situation.
- 7:40Speaker 5: Somebody in your family doesn't like you. Everything you do.
- 7:44Speaker 5: they will overreact to. They will do it on purpose
- 7:47Speaker 5: because they want to do you harm. It doesn't matter
- 7:49Speaker 5: what you do. You could trip over like a stone
- 7:53Speaker 5: and they could tell you you did it on purpose
- 7:54Speaker 5: because you took a swing at them.
- 7:56Speaker 6: Like, it doesn't matter.
- 7:57Speaker 5: And that's how media constantly reacts to Trump and the
- 8:00Speaker 5: things that happen with the White House and with this administration.
- 8:03Speaker 5: Anything that occurs that they can try to connect the
- 8:06Speaker 5: dots and blame somehow directly.
- 8:08Speaker 6: On the president, they do.
- 8:10Speaker 5: Even if they know if they waited, say, an hour
- 8:13Speaker 5: or a couple hours, the thing they're talking about will
- 8:15Speaker 5: go away and they'll pretend it's because of them. MS
- 8:19Speaker 5: Now will pretend that they're complaining on television is what
- 8:23Speaker 5: got the technology to inevitably work.
- 8:25Speaker 6: It's not true.
- 8:26Speaker 5: It's not at all what you and I should believe,
- 8:29Speaker 5: but it's what they will constantly do.
- 8:30Speaker 6: And it's the sort of thing that really annoys me.
- 8:34Speaker 5: And one of the reasons that I think it's important
- 8:35Speaker 5: sometimes to ignore the temporary version of the story is
- 8:40Speaker 5: And wait for the end goal solution. I wait for
- 8:42Speaker 5: the judge to make a final ruling and then tell
- 8:44Speaker 5: you whether or not the CNN MS now Politico bans
- 8:48Speaker 5: will actually be allowed or not in the long term.
- 8:51Speaker 5: The short term doesn't matter as much as the crazy
- 8:54Speaker 5: people want you to believe it does. because all they
- 8:57Speaker 5: want to do is do harm to the current administration.
- 9:00Speaker 5: And again, I like to use examples of things that
- 9:03Speaker 5: you might experience in your real life so all of
- 9:05Speaker 5: us can see our version of it. But if you
- 9:07Speaker 5: ever worked with somebody who wants to do you harm,
- 9:09Speaker 5: the number one thing they will do is overreact to
- 9:13Speaker 5: everything that involves you.
- 9:15Speaker 6: And it's just sort of hilarious.
- 9:16Speaker 5: You got to sit back and be like, all right,
- 9:18Speaker 5: I'm going to wait for this to blow over because
- 9:21Speaker 5: it's not as important as we're pretending it is. There's
- 9:23Speaker 5: got to be a different moment where we get past this.
- 9:27Speaker 5: And that will be the case for these bans. Not
- 9:30Speaker 5: only will people get back in on the short term,
- 9:32Speaker 5: but I definitively believe that an end decision will probably
- 9:35Speaker 5: be made that does not go in the president's way,
- 9:38Speaker 5: that does allow these organizations back in long term. It'll
- 9:42Speaker 5: find it to be unconstitutional to ban MSNOW, CNN, Politico
- 9:47Speaker 5: from White House press briefings. And the whole goal— I said
- 9:50Speaker 5: this in the first hour, I'll say this again. Might
- 9:52Speaker 5: very much have been to see how people react. Well,
- 9:56Speaker 5: this was going on. President Trump may have run an
- 10:00Speaker 5: op in which he just wanted to see who does
- 10:02Speaker 5: what to know who's more in his corner and who's
- 10:05Speaker 5: not so in his corner at the end of the day,
- 10:07Speaker 5: knowing that it might not actually succeed.
- 10:10Speaker 6: Long term.
- 10:10Speaker 5: That's a that's a position I don't normally have that
- 10:13Speaker 5: a lot of my friends who are pretty hardcore, you know,
- 10:16Speaker 5: Trump guys, MAGA guys would tell me is accurate no
- 10:20Speaker 5: matter what Trump does to people that are friends of mine.
- 10:23Speaker 6: He never makes a mistake.
- 10:25Speaker 5: Sometimes to me, some things might be a mistake and
- 10:28Speaker 5: some might not. But for this one, I can see
- 10:31Speaker 5: where it might have been an intentional version of we
- 10:33Speaker 5: know this isn't going to work long term, but we
- 10:35Speaker 5: want to see what happens in the short term. And
- 10:37Speaker 5: who does what? And that might have gained them some
- 10:39Speaker 5: valuable information as to how the corrupt system that is
- 10:43Speaker 5: our press and media actually works. And how Wayne Dolcefino
- 10:47Speaker 5: talks all the time with a crap ton of Emmys
- 10:49Speaker 5: behind him to validate his opinion that nobody trusts media anymore.
- 10:54Speaker 6: Because they don't. Because of the way they behave. All right,
- 10:56Speaker 6: we'll take a quick break. A lot more.
- 10:58Speaker 5: This is KSEV Mornings. The Mob Guys on The Voice

- 14:05Speaker 1: KSCV Radio.
- 14:10Speaker 6: This is The Voice of Texas. My name is Craig Colonnades.
- 14:14Speaker 6: Wayne Dolcefino.
- 14:15Speaker 14: Yeah, dude, everything's good.
- 14:16Speaker 6: Okay, cool.
- 14:17Speaker 15: Okay, good, dude.
- 14:18Speaker 6: Just checking.
- 14:19Speaker 5: Just making sure. Wayne Del Trofino is back tomorrow on
- 14:23Speaker 5: Special Assignment. Today we will be in Austin for Texas
- 14:27Speaker 5: Faith Festival from 7 o'clock to 9, the entire show.
- 14:30Speaker 5: And the festival not only is sponsoring our trip, but
- 14:33Speaker 5: they're actually also setting up a bunch of conversations for us.
- 14:37Speaker 5: I am very much looking forward to that. Brandon Gill
- 14:39Speaker 5: is the biggest name. There are several others. Maga Mays Middleton.
- 14:43Speaker 5: will be there, and I think we'll be talking to
- 14:44Speaker 5: him too tomorrow. You'll hear from some of the organizers
- 14:49Speaker 5: of the event who are really trying to demonstrate the
- 14:53Speaker 5: connection between faith and politics, not necessarily the just political.
- 15:02Speaker 6: Angles of certain discussions.
- 15:04Speaker 5: So I really think it's an interesting approach to demonstrating
- 15:08Speaker 5: how your values as a Texan of faith are best
- 15:12Speaker 5: represented by certain political leaders. And other political leaders seem
- 15:16Speaker 5: to hate you and hate the things you think. And
- 15:19Speaker 5: Tallarico seems to hate his own Christianity specifically. And by
- 15:23Speaker 5: the way, the weirdest part of going to Austin tomorrow
- 15:27Speaker 5: is that there will be a pretty democratic event going
- 15:30Speaker 5: on as well, a Trib Fest. Although a couple of
- 15:32Speaker 5: buddies of mine who are conservatives will be there, Jim
- 15:35Speaker 5: Garrity of National Review, who does a great podcast and
- 15:38Speaker 5: will probably be a guest pretty soon on this show.
- 15:42Speaker 5: for a couple of reasons. I've been talking to him
- 15:44Speaker 5: for a couple of weeks. I fill in on their
- 15:46Speaker 5: three martini lunch show occasionally. So you'll hear my voice
- 15:48Speaker 5: from time to time. But anyway, Jim Garrity is great.
- 15:51Speaker 5: He'll be at Trib Fest. I'll probably wind up connecting
- 15:54Speaker 5: with him for a bit and maybe sneaking into the event.
- 15:56Speaker 5: I don't know, but we will be in Austin and
- 15:59Speaker 5: we will be bringing you a bunch of conversations and
- 16:01Speaker 5: maybe some audio of actual attendees and what they think
- 16:05Speaker 5: of the connection between faith and the need for you
- 16:09Speaker 5: to pick certain politicians and that best represent you and
- 16:12Speaker 5: your belief system, and that picking the opposite is going
- 16:15Speaker 5: to be very, very bad for a ton of us. No,
- 16:18Speaker 5: I don't think that we should be a country that
- 16:21Speaker 5: has faith deeply embedded in the decision-making of politics, meaning
- 16:27Speaker 5: I don't think we should openly pretend that there's a
- 16:31Speaker 5: loud connection between church and state. At the same time,
- 16:34Speaker 5: there's obviously a connection between how I operate, how I
- 16:38Speaker 5: behave as a person, the core fundamental things that I
- 16:42Speaker 5: think and what I inevitably do when given any sense
- 16:45Speaker 5: of power, given any opportunity to make any decision, I
- 16:49Speaker 5: will be guided much like the founding fathers were by
- 16:52Speaker 5: my belief system. And so that is incredibly important. And again,
- 16:56Speaker 5: I don't know how to restate it. So I do
- 16:58Speaker 5: think it'll be a really interesting event that a lot
- 17:01Speaker 5: of people should check out.
- 17:01Speaker 8: All right.
- 17:02Speaker 6: I want to play another piece of audio of Tom Holman.
- 17:06Speaker 5: He was talking to Fox News yesterday, to Will Kane,
- 17:09Speaker 5: and part of that discussion was about how 60% of
- 17:12Speaker 5: people who have been removed from this country, even right now,
- 17:17Speaker 5: have committed way more serious.
- 17:19Speaker 6: Crimes than coming into our country illegal. That is a crime.
- 17:23Speaker 6: They are criminals.
- 17:24Speaker 5: Hellman even used the left version of language to say
- 17:27Speaker 5: 60% of those who've been deported are actually criminals or something.
- 17:32Speaker 5: I can't remember the exact wording, but it's the version
- 17:34Speaker 5: of pretending as though coming into the country in and
- 17:37Speaker 5: of itself doesn't make you someone who broke.
- 17:40Speaker 6: The law, which of course it does. But I thought
- 17:42Speaker 6: that this was also interesting, too.
- 17:44Speaker 5: He said over a year ago, it was hateful rhetoric
- 17:47Speaker 5: that doesn't stop as far as discussion about ICE itself.
- 17:51Speaker 6: One of the big reasons, and we told.
- 17:53Speaker 5: You yesterday and I demonstrated via some video that the
- 17:58Speaker 5: narrative of that the shooting that happened in Austin involved
- 18:02Speaker 5: unmarked vehicles, that the person who who ran from police
- 18:06Speaker 5: might not have known were police officers. And then the
- 18:09Speaker 5: real version of video that comes out shows you flashing
- 18:11Speaker 5: lights and sirens and everything you'd think you'd see if
- 18:14Speaker 5: an undercover cop were pulling you over for something as
- 18:18Speaker 5: simple as a speeding ticket. Like you see the real
- 18:20Speaker 5: version and the narrative version and how little they match.
- 18:24Speaker 5: And you realize how important it is to always be
- 18:26Speaker 5: told the actual truth. And so Holman goes even further
- 18:30Speaker 5: with talking about how long there's been a deeply hateful
- 18:33Speaker 5: rhetoric surrounding the ICE agents themselves and why they can't
- 18:37Speaker 5: drive around in a marked vehicle because radical, crazy people
- 18:41Speaker 5: on the left will attack them.
- 18:42Speaker 6: Here we go.
- 18:43Speaker 16: The hospital released him. That's a medical decision made by
- 18:45Speaker 16: an independent doctor. And he's in an ICE facility. And
- 18:48Speaker 16: I'll say it again. ICE has the highest detention standards
- 18:51Speaker 16: in the industry. They have access to doctors, nurses, and pharmacists, and,
- 18:56Speaker 16: you know, he's being well.
- 18:57Speaker 14: Taken care of. But the doctors at the hospital make
- 18:59Speaker 14: the decision. When should he be released? And he has
- 19:02Speaker 14: a bed.
- 19:03Speaker 16: It's just, you know, it's, well, it's just a continuation
- 19:06Speaker 16: of the lies about ICE detention facilities. Just like back,
- 19:09Speaker 16: remember Delaney Hall, where the governor says there's a hunger
- 19:11Speaker 16: strike and all these congressmen jumped on it? You know,
- 19:14Speaker 16: there's a hunger strike up there. People aren't getting the medication.
- 19:16Speaker 16: And I went up there unannounced. And I sat in
- 19:19Speaker 16: the cafeteria with aliens that were being detained, ate the
- 19:22Speaker 16: same meals they ate.
- 19:23Speaker 14: There was never a hunger strike. The food wasn't bad.
- 19:26Speaker 16: The people who weren't eating in the cafeteria were eating
- 19:28Speaker 16: on the commissary.
- 19:29Speaker 14: Of course, I didn't say anything about that. Everybody was
- 19:31Speaker 14: getting their medication.
- 19:32Speaker 16: They said it all started with an illegal alien who
- 19:34Speaker 16: was arrested for buying diapers for his infant child. No,
- 19:37Speaker 16: the illegal aliens were arrested at a county jail. charged
- 19:40Speaker 16: with domestic violence. It's just lie after lie after lie.
- 19:43Speaker 16: And when the facts come out, you never see them
- 19:45Speaker 16: coming out and say, well, okay, we were wrong. We
- 19:48Speaker 16: reported it wrong. No, it's just a constant vilification of license.
- 19:52Speaker 14: And that leads to why more people... out there do.
- 19:55Speaker 16: Not comply with lawful orders from ICE, who are federal
- 19:58Speaker 16: law enforcement officers. They feel emboldened because they keep hearing,
- 20:01Speaker 16: ICE are the Nazis, they're the racists, they're the secret police,
- 20:04Speaker 16: they're not real law enforcement. All this stuff feeds into this.
- 20:08Speaker 16: And I said over a year ago, if the hateful
- 20:12Speaker 16: rhetoric doesn't stop, There's going to be tragedies and there
- 20:15Speaker 16: are tragedies because I blame a lot of it on.
- 20:18Speaker 14: The hateful rhetoric that emboldens people. I don't have to
- 20:21Speaker 14: comply with ice.
- 20:23Speaker 5: We're radicalizing people through our own media and media reporting
- 20:26Speaker 5: that they know is disingenuous and they definitively know is
- 20:30Speaker 5: happening at moments when the total story can't be told.
- 20:34Speaker 5: Like the biggest thing you should be afraid of, and
- 20:36Speaker 5: this is probably the best way to say it, is
- 20:39Speaker 5: when media tells you they know the truth within hours
- 20:41Speaker 5: of something happening, because by and large, they almost never do.
- 20:45Speaker 5: And a lot of times they don't intend to know
- 20:47Speaker 5: the truth at all. They don't care what the truth is.
- 20:49Speaker 5: They don't want to tell you the truth. They absolutely
- 20:51Speaker 5: want to tell you their narrative version of the lie.
- 20:53Speaker 5: And the most important thing that Homan points out, I
- 20:56Speaker 5: know I'm preaching to the choir. I know a lot
- 20:58Speaker 5: of people already know this and already believe this. But
- 21:01Speaker 5: the most important thing about this discussion is they never
- 21:04Speaker 5: go back and correct themselves. For example, right now, MSNOW, CNN,
- 21:10Speaker 5: to go back to that story that's bigger than it
- 21:12Speaker 5: should be in news media, are going to pretend as
- 21:15Speaker 5: though there is going to be a refusal by the
- 21:18Speaker 5: Trump administration to listen to a federal judge.
- 21:21Speaker 6: And that is not actually accurate.
- 21:23Speaker 5: That is not what's going to actually occur. And it's
- 21:26Speaker 5: beyond stupid that these are the kind of things that
- 21:29Speaker 5: media runs with. And then you have moron people out there,
- 21:33Speaker 5: useful idiots, as Rush Limbaugh always used to call them,
- 21:36Speaker 5: who take that message and run with it. And one
- 21:38Speaker 5: of the biggest challenges I think we do face in
- 21:40Speaker 5: our society is a need for instant information. We do
- 21:45Speaker 5: want instant answers to something as quickly as we can
- 21:48Speaker 5: try to get them.
- 21:49Speaker 6: And that's bad. That's much, much worse.
- 21:52Speaker 5: And occasionally I'll tell you that I'll go a step further.
- 21:55Speaker 5: occasionally this is possible. There is a way to get
- 21:57Speaker 5: an instant answer, but it's more often than not going
- 22:00Speaker 5: to come from an independent journalist, someone who's not tied
- 22:03Speaker 5: to any organization that has another motive or another story
- 22:06Speaker 5: to tell. And I think I've mentioned this before on
- 22:08Speaker 5: the air. I worked at a place that claimed it
- 22:11Speaker 5: was conservative. Not the place I work now. This place
- 22:14Speaker 5: is definitely conservative and awesome. It's not KSCV. But I
- 22:17Speaker 5: worked at a place in Illinois that claimed it was conservative.
- 22:20Speaker 5: It had a pretty conservative midday show that was actually
- 22:23Speaker 5: nationally syndicated. But the morning show definitely didn't follow conservative values.
- 22:28Speaker 5: And me being placed in the afternoon, there was pressure
- 22:31Speaker 5: on me to tone down any sort of conservative political
- 22:35Speaker 5: conversations I wanted to have with an audience that seemed
- 22:38Speaker 5: to really be responding to it. And what I think
- 22:40Speaker 5: is amazing about that is how commonplace that is. And
- 22:44Speaker 5: I constantly remember getting in arguments with the news director
- 22:46Speaker 5: there about stories, about slants, even about the way that
- 22:51Speaker 5: he'd report on something that I was also talking about
- 22:54Speaker 5: on my show as if the thing I was saying
- 22:56Speaker 5: wasn't true.
- 22:57Speaker 6: And I'd come back on after a news break.
- 23:00Speaker 5: Which happened every half hour at that station, and correct
- 23:03Speaker 5: the things that were misleading.
- 23:05Speaker 6: And it was crazy.
- 23:06Speaker 5: And obviously, the news director didn't like it. But at
- 23:08Speaker 5: the end of the day, I thought it was necessary
- 23:10Speaker 5: because so often you see this version of we're going
- 23:13Speaker 5: to tell you a part of the truth or none
- 23:15Speaker 5: of the truth, depending on how it benefits us. And
- 23:18Speaker 5: we're going to leave out anything or everything that refutes.
- 23:21Speaker 6: Our own narrative.
- 23:23Speaker 5: This meeting between Trump and Xi Jinping will be covered
- 23:26Speaker 5: very interestingly, I think, in a lot of places. And
- 23:30Speaker 5: one of the biggest discussions will be about cybersecurity, cyber attacks,
- 23:34Speaker 5: AI progress. China is rapidly catching up to the United
- 23:38Speaker 5: States in the capabilities of their AI technology.
- 23:42Speaker 6: There's a few things that still put us ahead of them.
- 23:45Speaker 5: And there's a few ways in which the Democrats are
- 23:46Speaker 5: trying to push us to restrict and prevent AI.
- 23:51Speaker 6: From developing, you know, to stay ahead of China.
- 23:54Speaker 5: It seems as though some of those potential short term
- 23:58Speaker 5: slowdowns are really just ways that allow China to fully
- 24:02Speaker 5: catch up, which is crazy. But I think that it'll
- 24:05Speaker 5: be a big part of the conversation. Publicly, you might
- 24:08Speaker 5: not hear about all of it. Trump may praise Xi
- 24:10Speaker 5: Jinping more than you want him to, but privately, we'll
- 24:13Speaker 5: be looking to get a deal done that hopefully benefits
- 24:15Speaker 5: us or in some way slows down the most negative
- 24:19Speaker 5: aspects of what China is doing.
- 24:21Speaker 6: Now, granted, they probably won't slow down.
- 24:23Speaker 5: It's impossible to get that actually to be a successful thing.
- 24:27Speaker 5: But nonetheless, I just think it's amazing. And we should
- 24:30Speaker 5: really pay attention to the way that this is covered.
- 24:33Speaker 5: more so than what's actually happening both in front and
- 24:35Speaker 5: behind the scenes as far as the cameras go.
- 24:38Speaker 6: All right, we'll take another quick break. A lot coming up.
- 24:40Speaker 6: This is KSEV and the KSEV.
- 24:43Speaker 5: Morning Show, or the Mob Guys as we call ourselves,
- 24:46Speaker 5: on The Voice of Texas, 700 a.m.
- 24:49Speaker 6: Back with more after this.
- 25:11Speaker 2: Autumn magic, stirring memories of the Texas Renaissance Festival. Family
- 25:16Speaker 2: and friends celebrating again in a kingdom of treasures with
- 25:19Speaker 2: the finest artisan artisan. Sumptuous repast, savory and sweet, crafted
- 25:23Speaker 2: to delight. Beguiling musicians and players. Enthralling joust, legendary combat
- 25:28Speaker 2: and fiery spectacles. Create memories for eight magical weekends, October
- 25:32Speaker 2: 10th through November 29th, including Thanksgiving Friday.
- 25:35Speaker 6: Tickets camping and more at texrenfest.com. Magic and memories await.
- 25:41Speaker 8: Huzzah!
- 25:42Speaker 15: Hi, y'all. It's Kathy from Baker Mortgage. You know, with
- 25:45Speaker 15: all the scary stuff we've been through, it's still true
- 25:47Speaker 15: that timing is everything and the time to buy is now.
- 25:51Speaker 15: But don't go looking without a solid pre-approval in hand.
- 25:54Speaker 15: And this includes an application and a detailed discussion about
- 25:57Speaker 15: property taxes. If you didn't have the talk. You know,
- 26:01Speaker 15: about property taxes, you really don't know what you're pre-approved for.
- 26:05Speaker 15: That should make you wonder what else they may have
- 26:07Speaker 15: left out. Mortgages are personal. Let's face it, we're dealing
- 26:10Speaker 15: with your home and your money, and it doesn't get
- 26:12Speaker 15: much more personal than that. When it's the largest transaction
- 26:15Speaker 15: that most people will ever be involved in, imagine having
- 26:18Speaker 15: someone on your side looking out after you.
- 26:21Speaker 6: What a concept.
- 26:22Speaker 15: We audit your closing statement to make sure you're not
- 26:24Speaker 15: paying for things that you're not supposed to. Do you
- 26:27Speaker 15: think your big bank's going to do that? Probably not.
- 26:30Speaker 15: For all of your mortgage needs, call us at Baker Mortgage.
- 26:33Speaker 15: I promise you'll be glad you did. We're at 281-313-MOVE
- 26:37Speaker 15: or go directly to bakermortgage.com.
- 26:39Speaker 6: Equal housing lender. License number 263213.
- 26:43Speaker 4: What kind of home do you live in?
- 26:45Speaker 6: We live in a two-bedroom high-rise condo.
- 26:47Speaker 5: A three-bedroom family home.
- 26:49Speaker 6: In the suburbs.
- 26:50Speaker 2: A farmhouse on our family ranch passed down through generations.
- 26:54Speaker 4: It doesn't matter where you live or what kind of
- 26:57Speaker 4: home you have. You all have one thing in common.
- 27:00Speaker 4: Gina Hinojosa voted to increase your property taxes. Not once,
- 27:05Speaker 4: not twice, but 40 different times Gina Hinojosa voted to
- 27:09Speaker 4: raise your property taxes. If she has her way, you'll
- 27:13Speaker 4: be priced out of your own home. Gina Hinojosa is
- 27:16Speaker 4: too radical to be governor of Texas. Luckily, Governor Greg
- 27:21Speaker 4: Abbott has a better plan.
- 27:23Speaker 9: We have to stop the insanity and instead give you
- 27:27Speaker 9: a different property tax relief that will do more than
- 27:30Speaker 9: cut your property tax bill in half forever. You're going
- 27:33Speaker 9: to be able to live in your home for the
- 27:35Speaker 9: rest of your lives without being priced out of it.
- 27:54Speaker 5: KSEV, 700 AM, The Voice of Texas.
- 27:59Speaker 6: My name is Craig Colonese.
- 28:00Speaker 5: Wayne Dolcefino will be with us again tomorrow on The
- 28:03Speaker 5: Mob Guys on KSEV Radio.
- 28:05Speaker 6: Fox News did a little.
- 28:06Speaker 5: Bit of reporting of the meeting between Xi Jinping and
- 28:10Speaker 5: President Trump that is occurring today. They are meeting at
- 28:13Speaker 5: a military base here in the United States. And I
- 28:16Speaker 5: do think the biggest, most necessary discussion will 100% be
- 28:21Speaker 5: focused on technology, AI, cybersecurity, all of those things that
- 28:27Speaker 5: we've honestly been talking to China about for a long time,
- 28:30Speaker 5: just certain aspects of it have developed rapidly over the
- 28:34Speaker 5: course of the last few months. I can play a
- 28:35Speaker 5: little bit of that discussion, but I do want to
- 28:39Speaker 5: weigh in on what I hope comes from this and
- 28:42Speaker 5: what I realistically think actually will come from this.
- 28:44Speaker 6: But here we go.
- 28:45Speaker 11: FBI announced it had caught state-sponsored hackers from China targeting NASA,
- 28:50Speaker 11: the Federal Reserve, the Department of Energy, the Department of Justice,
- 28:53Speaker 11: Health and Human Services. OpenAI published an investigation revealing that
- 28:58Speaker 11: individuals in China were using AI tools to fuel online
- 29:01Speaker 11: campaigns against the development of AI data centers. And then
- 29:06Speaker 11: the feds also charged three people in a scheme to
- 29:09Speaker 11: smuggle $ 2. 5 billion in restricted high-performance AI service to Chinese customers.
- 29:16Speaker 14: The list goes on and on and on.
- 29:18Speaker 5: So here's something really interesting that I want to share
- 29:20Speaker 5: with you that I've been noticing about our own social
- 29:22Speaker 5: media that I think really dives into part of what
- 29:25Speaker 5: Fox News is exposing here. Because Fox News is telling
- 29:28Speaker 5: you that China is using artificial intelligence not only to
- 29:32Speaker 5: attack us and try to hack us, Because those systems,
- 29:35Speaker 5: those bots that they build can do it 24 hours
- 29:38Speaker 5: a day, seven days a week and never give up.
- 29:40Speaker 5: Very different than like a human hacker. It's just constant
- 29:43Speaker 5: and it'll try every avenue it can to get through something.
- 29:46Speaker 5: And one of the ways you need to protect your infrastructure,
- 29:49Speaker 5: technological infrastructure from another country is to have AI defenses
- 29:53Speaker 5: to the AI attacks. Robots against robots, baby. And actually,
- 29:57Speaker 5: a dude did fight a robot. And I intend to
- 29:59Speaker 5: talk about that before the end of the show. But
- 30:01Speaker 5: that's a different thing. That's not for this right now.
- 30:03Speaker 5: But anyway, what is going on and what's going to
- 30:06Speaker 5: be discussed between these two world leaders is the need
- 30:09Speaker 5: to make sure that AI isn't weaponized the way that
- 30:12Speaker 5: it will be anyway. Like, I don't think they'll come
- 30:14Speaker 5: to an agreement on any of this. And the leverage
- 30:17Speaker 5: the United States has, by the way, is chip technology.
- 30:21Speaker 5: You might think it's the opposite, but you'd be wrong.
- 30:23Speaker 5: Some of the most advanced AI chips exist predominantly here
- 30:27Speaker 5: in the United States and not in China. And one
- 30:30Speaker 5: of the biggest ways that we've been able to curtail
- 30:33Speaker 5: their quick advancement in that capacity compared to ours is
- 30:38Speaker 5: refusing to export an amount of those more advanced chips
- 30:43Speaker 5: to China. So what China has done in the AI
- 30:45Speaker 5: race is try to oversimplify the process on what is
- 30:49Speaker 5: weaker technology to make it succeed to the same level
- 30:53Speaker 5: that our smarter technology can. And it's going to harm
- 30:56Speaker 5: their water system, their electric system, or essentially they're making
- 30:59Speaker 5: their AI chips work harder to match ours.
- 31:03Speaker 6: That's one way to put it.
- 31:04Speaker 5: I'm sure some people would object to it because I'm
- 31:06Speaker 5: certainly oversimplifying it.
- 31:07Speaker 6: But nonetheless, that's one way to put it.
- 31:10Speaker 5: And so what I think is really fascinating about this
- 31:13Speaker 5: and about the version of a discussion that you're going
- 31:15Speaker 5: to hear publicly and the way that it relates.
- 31:17Speaker 6: To our social.
- 31:19Speaker 5: Media accounts is we're doing more short videos. Certainly, Chris
- 31:24Speaker 5: X is doing a bunch of them. I need to
- 31:25Speaker 5: do more for The Morning Show. Lucas is doing an
- 31:27Speaker 5: incredible job with the things that we're putting out on
- 31:29Speaker 5: social media, one of our producers. And every time we
- 31:33Speaker 5: put something out that's even a little bit successful, I
- 31:36Speaker 5: see these immediate comments pop in that are negative and
- 31:39Speaker 5: not about us, about the topic in general, about whatever
- 31:42Speaker 5: the Republican politician is we're talking about or there's some
- 31:46Speaker 5: reference to something controversial that's going on.
- 31:48Speaker 6: So there's– the left is attacking– are posts.
- 31:52Speaker 5: And what's crazy about this to me is if you
- 31:54Speaker 5: look a little deeper and our analytics allow us to
- 31:56Speaker 5: do this, you see how many of those people don't
- 31:59Speaker 5: really follow us, aren't really connected to Houston or to Texas.
- 32:03Speaker 5: They're just coming out of nowhere to get upset with
- 32:05Speaker 5: something that some radio station is putting on social media.
- 32:08Speaker 6: And we're not the only one. We're one of several
- 32:11Speaker 6: stations that deal with this kind of thing.
- 32:13Speaker 5: So what I'm telling you very simplistically is it's likely
- 32:15Speaker 5: just AI bots that are told to look for stations
- 32:19Speaker 5: like ours in cities like Houston, influential places. The Amigos,
- 32:23Speaker 5: one of the most influential shows in all of Texas,
- 32:26Speaker 5: as they describe themselves, and I believe them to be,
- 32:29Speaker 5: get targeted by this kind of thing. And you see
- 32:31Speaker 5: the posts pop in there, and they just seem kind
- 32:33Speaker 5: of ridiculous.
- 32:35Speaker 6: And I do block some of them.
- 32:36Speaker 5: I do turn some of them off if I go
- 32:38Speaker 5: to the account and can tell it really doesn't seem
- 32:40Speaker 5: like a real social media account. But that's one of
- 32:43Speaker 5: several demonstrations and one that we have some unique insight
- 32:47Speaker 5: into and can see some of the background of how
- 32:49Speaker 5: it's working, but they're talking about here.
- 32:52Speaker 6: China will use.
- 32:54Speaker 5: Its developing AI to attack everything about our technological infrastructure
- 33:00Speaker 5: and try to hack into all of our companies, try
- 33:01Speaker 5: to hack more information from us, all of it. There's
- 33:04Speaker 5: so many dangers to allowing any country to be ahead
- 33:07Speaker 5: of us because of how it limits our ability to
- 33:10Speaker 5: protect ourselves from them. I know I'm repeating my thought here,
- 33:14Speaker 5: but I just want to make sure it's crystal clear because...
- 33:17Speaker 5: If you think that data centers are a terrible, horrible
- 33:21Speaker 5: thing and you think that they're going to disrupt your
- 33:24Speaker 5: community or our country, I'm not telling you you're not
- 33:28Speaker 5: somewhat correct. I'm not telling you that there's not a
- 33:31Speaker 5: lax of full advantages to just giant warehouses of data centers,
- 33:36Speaker 5: of processors and servers. Sitting all over the country. But
- 33:41Speaker 5: the need for it is woefully misunderstood.
- 33:44Speaker 6: It just is.
- 33:45Speaker 5: And there's a lot of people out there. And I
- 33:46Speaker 5: know a lot of people who call this radio station
- 33:48Speaker 5: that say, like, I don't use AI at all. I
- 33:50Speaker 5: don't touch it. I don't play with it. I don't
- 33:52Speaker 5: do anything, you know, in my own personal life to
- 33:55Speaker 5: even truly understand this. And so I don't know why
- 33:59Speaker 5: we need a data center in my community because it's
- 34:01Speaker 5: not something that I'm using. I'll tell you, our government
- 34:05Speaker 5: is using a tremendous amount of the thinking power of
- 34:10Speaker 5: AI right now and all the time. And they're doing
- 34:13Speaker 5: it to protect us from the attacks on all the
- 34:16Speaker 5: other countries that are using their AI to come after
- 34:18Speaker 5: us and come after our institutions.
- 34:21Speaker 6: And it's simply the best way to describe it.
- 34:24Speaker 5: And I've done it before on the air and I'll
- 34:25Speaker 5: do it again and I know I talk about this
- 34:27Speaker 5: a lot, but I think certainly with the Xi Jinping visit,
- 34:31Speaker 5: this should be on the forefront of more people's minds
- 34:33Speaker 5: than it is. But the biggest way to compare it
- 34:36Speaker 5: is if we just stopped having any sort of anti-military
- 34:41Speaker 5: or anti-missile systems in our country. We just threw everything
- 34:45Speaker 5: in the trash, everything that would protect us from a
- 34:48Speaker 5: rocket being fired at the United States. And all of
- 34:51Speaker 5: us would understand how bad that would be if tomorrow—
- 34:54Speaker 5: And this president would never do that. But some leader
- 34:57Speaker 5: of our country woke up and said, you know what?
- 34:58Speaker 5: We don't need any sort of protection system. We'll be fine.
- 35:02Speaker 6: No one will attack us. It'll all be great.
- 35:06Speaker 5: The pandemonium, people would be screaming from the rooftops about
- 35:09Speaker 5: how scary of a scenario that is for us to
- 35:11Speaker 5: just go ahead and trust the rest of the world.
- 35:13Speaker 5: And from an AI standpoint, that is what the people
- 35:16Speaker 5: who are anti the data centers are asking us to do.
- 35:19Speaker 5: Allow people to get caught up to us, to get
- 35:22Speaker 5: in front of us, and to just hope that they
- 35:24Speaker 5: don't do bad things when they wield more power than
- 35:27Speaker 5: we do. It is a cold war all over again
- 35:30Speaker 5: in a different space against a different opponent, but it's
- 35:33Speaker 5: essentially exactly the same thing. Here, I'll say one last
- 35:38Speaker 5: thing about it, and then I probably should move on.
- 35:41Speaker 5: I think there are times in our lives where you're
- 35:43Speaker 5: faced with a decision where you don't like either outcome.
- 35:46Speaker 6: This can be as easy as a political one.
- 35:48Speaker 5: This can be the people who say they're going to
- 35:49Speaker 5: hold their nose and vote for Paxton because they don't
- 35:52Speaker 5: like something about him personally. They don't like some story
- 35:56Speaker 5: that they believe, even if he was acquitted by the
- 35:58Speaker 5: Texas Senate of any crimes he was accused of. But
- 36:02Speaker 5: whatever the case might be, whatever the reason is to say,
- 36:04Speaker 5: this is a person I don't want to personally support,
- 36:07Speaker 5: but I need to do it for them. There's a
- 36:09Speaker 5: lot of moments in your life, and they can go
- 36:11Speaker 5: beyond politics, where you have to make One of two decisions.
- 36:15Speaker 5: You cannot just skip it. You know, you can't do nothing.
- 36:19Speaker 5: You have to make a call. And that call might
- 36:22Speaker 5: not be ideal, but it's the best of what you
- 36:24Speaker 5: can do. That's data centers to me. And actually, and
- 36:28Speaker 5: I'll say this again, because I know I've said it
- 36:29Speaker 5: during the show this week, you can also get a
- 36:32Speaker 5: lot of benefits from making that decision. Exploration of medical
- 36:37Speaker 5: advancement will be more easily done with AI doing a
- 36:41Speaker 5: part of the job. The most valuable use of artificial
- 36:44Speaker 5: intelligence is pairing it with the most intellectual of our society,
- 36:51Speaker 5: the highest capacity human intelligence and the highest capacity artificial
- 36:54Speaker 5: intelligence together solve a lot of problems. And so I
- 36:58Speaker 5: just think that it's amazing that we're at this place
- 37:02Speaker 5: where so many of us are sort of, and not
- 37:04Speaker 5: all of us, I actually should say, I assume less
- 37:07Speaker 5: than the majority of us, But certainly there's loud voices,
- 37:09Speaker 5: even on the Republican side of the aisle, too, that
- 37:12Speaker 5: are saying pushing deeper will harm us a lot. And
- 37:17Speaker 5: it's the exact opposite that is true to me. And
- 37:20Speaker 5: is there an opportunity that the computer will understand it's
- 37:23Speaker 5: a it's a computer, go sentient and decide that it
- 37:26Speaker 5: wants to hurt us?
- 37:27Speaker 17: Yeah.
- 37:28Speaker 5: But it's the it's the worst the worst possible scenario,
- 37:31Speaker 5: a pretty unlikely scenario happening in which we can't just
- 37:34Speaker 5: pull the plug out of all the computers, too. So
- 37:37Speaker 5: we'll see how this all goes, how the Xi Jinping
- 37:40Speaker 5: discussions go. But I really hope that no matter what
- 37:43Speaker 5: happens publicly behind closed doors, they are very tough, very
- 37:47Speaker 5: intense discussions about the need to make sure that China
- 37:53Speaker 5: isn't trying to push to limit our technological advancement while
- 37:57Speaker 5: also trying to attack us with theirs.
- 37:59Speaker 6: It's just said that simplistically.
- 38:01Speaker 5: And to be honest, the banning of the CNNs And
- 38:05Speaker 5: the MS now isn't everybody at this critical moment when
- 38:09Speaker 5: these stories will all be potentially shaping most people's opinions on.
- 38:13Speaker 6: What we should do moving forward.
- 38:14Speaker 5: The data center discussion is becoming one of the lightning
- 38:17Speaker 5: rod discussions of the midterm election. And I do think
- 38:22Speaker 5: that there's versions of talking about this topic that will
- 38:25Speaker 5: be so harmful to our society and so desired by
- 38:31Speaker 5: the political left to win a simple midterm elections. They
- 38:34Speaker 5: want to convince you that something's terrible that they know
- 38:37Speaker 5: we need because they want you to vote for their side.
- 38:40Speaker 6: And it's I don't know. It's just sort of.
- 38:42Speaker 5: Amazing to think about the the the dominoes and how
- 38:46Speaker 5: they're all falling.
- 38:46Speaker 6: But I will take a break. We'll come back.
- 38:48Speaker 5: We'll do some silly stuff again. It's a little odd
- 38:50Speaker 5: to transition from a serious for most of the show to.
- 38:53Speaker 6: A less serious. But I can't help it, man.
- 38:56Speaker 5: I can't talk about serious stuff all day long, all
- 38:59Speaker 5: the time. So I have some crazy stories, including a
- 39:02Speaker 5: dude who did actually fight a robot. A influencer named
- 39:06Speaker 5: Frankie LaPena did the first ever human versus robot fight,
- 39:11Speaker 5: and it did not go well for us.
- 39:12Speaker 6: I'll tell you about that and more in just a bit.
- 39:15Speaker 5: This is KSEV Mornings, the Mob Guys on The Voice

- 40:55Speaker 18: Growing up, I remember watching my dad drop everything to
- 40:58Speaker 18: help somebody in need. Early or late, if somebody needed help,
- 41:02Speaker 18: he showed up. Hi, I'm Tommy Mello, CEO of Garage
- 41:05Speaker 18: Door Doctor. That lesson stuck with me. That's why our

- 41:58Speaker 5: One of the two mob guys on our new morning
- 42:00Speaker 5: show from seven to nine o'clock Monday through Friday. Uh,
- 42:03Speaker 5: the other mob guy, Wayne Dolcefino will be with me
- 42:06Speaker 5: tomorrow in Austin, Texas, or just outside of it for
- 42:09Speaker 5: the Texas faith festival. Uh, you can still get your tickets,
- 42:11Speaker 5: look everything up online, uh, for Texas faith festival.
- 42:14Speaker 6: Um, it does seem like a really valuable event.
- 42:17Speaker 5: Some of the speakers they've been adding in the last, say,
- 42:19Speaker 5: couple of weeks seem to be really interesting. Uh, They
- 42:22Speaker 5: might not all be household names, but discussions like the
- 42:25Speaker 5: influence of certain ways of religious thinking that are so
- 42:31Speaker 5: different than our society, our culture, than Christianity, conservative based values.
- 42:38Speaker 6: Some of that stuff that's.
- 42:40Speaker 5: Coming from, you know, other places, the Muslim Islamic religions
- 42:45Speaker 5: and how it influenced Sharia law, for example, is one
- 42:47Speaker 5: of the things that could be talked about in depth
- 42:50Speaker 5: in Austin today. in a really interesting way and some
- 42:53Speaker 5: of how it actually does put us in a scary
- 42:58Speaker 5: situation moving forward if the left, if Democrats are lenient
- 43:03Speaker 5: on those calls to change things that eventually could upend
- 43:07Speaker 5: our society even more than it's already been upended.
- 43:09Speaker 6: That's just one of several conversations that'll.
- 43:11Speaker 5: Be happening at the Texas Faith Festival that I think
- 43:14Speaker 5: will be kind of must hear. So do please check
- 43:17Speaker 5: that out. But before we get out of here, I
- 43:18Speaker 5: do want to do some sillier stuff. I call these
- 43:20Speaker 5: quick four-ish topics. I kind of steal this bit from
- 43:24Speaker 5: Dana Lash. And one of my favorite things that I
- 43:27Speaker 5: saw go viral, this is a thing that took place
- 43:30Speaker 5: in San Francisco. which I don't think is responsible for
- 43:32Speaker 5: a lot of stuff I usually like, but I did
- 43:34Speaker 5: like this. A social media influencer who also considers himself
- 43:38Speaker 5: to be like an amateur fighter boxer actually physically fought
- 43:43Speaker 5: a remote controlled humanoid robot and got demolished by said robot.
- 43:47Speaker 6: The guy's name is Frankie LaPena.
- 43:49Speaker 5: He said this was the first official man versus technology
- 43:53Speaker 5: event you know, altercation that happened.
- 43:56Speaker 6: In the real world. And it didn't go well.
- 43:59Speaker 5: I do have some audio of both the announcement at
- 44:01Speaker 5: the beginning of the fight and then the inevitable knockout
- 44:04Speaker 5: that occurs, which isn't all that great.
- 44:07Speaker 6: And I can play it.
- 44:08Speaker 5: I know that the the actual audio, if I went
- 44:11Speaker 5: to something other than this piece that I have, is
- 44:14Speaker 5: it might be funny enough that you might want to
- 44:15Speaker 5: hear more.
- 44:15Speaker 6: It's just laced with profanity.
- 44:17Speaker 5: A lot of bad words were being said, but here's
- 44:20Speaker 5: pretty much everything that I can play on the radio
- 44:23Speaker 5: from the man versus robot fight.
- 44:26Speaker 6: Oh, hold on. Actually, I got to play this over here.
- 44:28Speaker 5: I was playing it on the wrong spot because I
- 44:29Speaker 5: just like it so much that I had it set
- 44:31Speaker 5: up on a different computer. But one more thing is
- 44:33Speaker 5: I actually set this up in the correct location. I
- 44:36Speaker 5: will tell you that I think is really interesting about
- 44:39Speaker 5: it is it sounds like a lot of the people
- 44:41Speaker 5: that attended this kind of hoped that the man part
- 44:44Speaker 5: would do better. And maybe it's because we thought the
- 44:46Speaker 5: technology wasn't as advanced as it actually is.
- 44:49Speaker 6: But most of us going in probably.
- 44:51Speaker 5: Should have assumed that a fight between a human and
- 44:54Speaker 5: a robot would not go the way we want it
- 44:56Speaker 5: to go for us.
- 44:56Speaker 6: But here's the actual audio.
- 44:58Speaker 9: For the first time in history, a human faces off
- 45:02Speaker 9: against a six foot tall robot.
- 45:06Speaker 6: I'm scared for you. Yeah, I'm scared for you too, bro.
- 45:12Speaker 6: The music's weird.
- 45:19Speaker 5: I think the people who edited this put way too
- 45:21Speaker 5: much of that music behind it. But if you can't
- 45:22Speaker 5: tell at the end, other than the announcement, you actually
- 45:25Speaker 5: hear the crowd kind of shocked. Some of them cheering,
- 45:27Speaker 5: not a lot of them cheering, as the dude gets
- 45:30Speaker 5: placed on his butt. Because the robot definitely won the
- 45:33Speaker 5: fight between Frankie LaPena, a social media influencer... And a
- 45:38Speaker 5: six foot tall non-human thing. I do think maybe we
- 45:41Speaker 5: could put a better fighter up against this robot and
- 45:44Speaker 5: maybe the outcome would be different, but probably not.
- 45:46Speaker 6: And that is what it is.
- 45:48Speaker 5: In the world we live in, the society we live in,
- 45:50Speaker 5: there's nothing we can really do about the fact that.
- 45:53Speaker 6: If robots fought us physically, we'll lose.
- 45:55Speaker 14: I don't know.
- 45:56Speaker 6: I just found this so interesting, so funny.
- 45:58Speaker 5: Another story out there that I saw, and maybe I
- 46:00Speaker 5: can bring in Russell for this discussion. because I feel
- 46:03Speaker 5: like this goes viral every time we're about to have
- 46:06Speaker 5: a new season. for either the NHL, the.
- 46:09Speaker 6: NBA, baseball.
- 46:11Speaker 5: Some team somewhere desperately wants to go viral for a
- 46:15Speaker 5: really dumb food item they'll be serving at their games.
- 46:19Speaker 5: The New York Islanders are the latest version of a
- 46:22Speaker 5: team that went very viral for something that sounds absolutely
- 46:25Speaker 5: disgusting and is going to cost way too much money
- 46:29Speaker 5: to buy at their game, but they've created the first
- 46:31Speaker 5: a nerd candy-filled grilled cheese sandwich. So it's a grilled
- 46:36Speaker 5: cheese sandwich that has a lot of sugar nerd gummy
- 46:39Speaker 5: candy clusters stuffed in it. And I even have, I think,
- 46:43Speaker 5: audio of a social media person in Cleveland trying it
- 46:47Speaker 5: and talking about it. But I do find this funny, Russell,
- 46:49Speaker 5: that so many teams who want to get a whole
- 46:52Speaker 5: bunch of tickets sold try to go viral in the
- 46:54Speaker 5: social media age with a disgusting sounding food item.
- 46:58Speaker 6: I assume you see this a lot. Yes, no. Is
- 47:02Speaker 6: Russell still there or no?
- 47:03Speaker 10: Yeah, I'm here.
- 47:04Speaker 17: I mean, I just don't get it.
- 47:06Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 47:06Speaker 5: Do you see it a lot, though, where a lot
- 47:07Speaker 5: of the teams want to go viral for the most
- 47:09Speaker 5: disgusting abomination of a sandwich that they can possibly create?
- 47:13Speaker 6: I mean, yes, all the time.
- 47:15Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 47:15Speaker 6: Yeah, I don't know what the benefit is there. I
- 47:17Speaker 6: can play the audio of Madeline Vieira.
- 47:20Speaker 15: And you pay $ 25 for it.
- 47:23Speaker 8: You're right.
- 47:23Speaker 6: And you can do this at home, by the way.
- 47:25Speaker 5: You can make a grilled cheese and put a bunch
- 47:27Speaker 5: of candy in it and realize how bad of a
- 47:29Speaker 5: decision this is.
- 47:30Speaker 6: You don't need to do it at the Islanders game.
- 47:31Speaker 6: But here I can play a little bit of this audio, too.
- 47:33Speaker 20: One of the cheeses that I tried with it was Brie.
- 47:36Speaker 20: But here's why this pairing works. Brie has a very
- 47:39Speaker 20: creamy texture and flavor-wise, it's slightly salty and a bit buttery. Traditionally,
- 47:45Speaker 20: Brie loves sweet and tangy. So think of the nerds
- 47:49Speaker 20: clusters as almost raspberry jam. When combined together, it's almost
- 47:54Speaker 20: like eating buttered toast with raspberry jam.
- 47:57Speaker 6: I don't believe anything she just said.
- 47:58Speaker 5: And I kind of like the fancy little video and
- 48:00Speaker 5: audio that she put behind it, the music, when she's
- 48:02Speaker 5: saying that this is like having a nice raspberry jam
- 48:06Speaker 5: with your grilled cheese sandwich. My favorite part is when
- 48:10Speaker 5: she references the nerd cluster. I don't know why, but here,
- 48:12Speaker 5: I'll play it one more time.
- 48:12Speaker 20: Clusters as almost raspberry jam. When combined together, it's almost.
- 48:16Speaker 5: Yeah, I don't think anybody should eat this at the
- 48:18Speaker 5: Islander game or anywhere else.
- 48:19Speaker 6: Have we ever done this?
- 48:20Speaker 5: Has any team in Houston created an abomination of a
- 48:23Speaker 5: food product or no?
- 48:25Speaker 17: I'm sure they have, but probably not as extreme as
- 48:28Speaker 17: grilled cheese with nerds.
- 48:29Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 48:30Speaker 5: Probably the reason why is Texans just won't eat it.
- 48:32Speaker 5: We're smart enough to know that we like the basic stuff.
- 48:35Speaker 5: We like just simple barbecue and whatnot. You don't need
- 48:39Speaker 5: to go crazy. A larger slab of meat is all
- 48:42Speaker 5: I need. I don't need it to be anything more
- 48:44Speaker 5: than that.
- 48:45Speaker 6: Maybe that's why.
- 48:46Speaker 14: I don't know.
- 48:47Speaker 6: But all right. Well, thank you, Russell, for jumping in
- 48:48Speaker 6: on that one.
- 48:49Speaker 5: One last one for silly topics or interesting maybe, but
- 48:52Speaker 5: not necessarily political that I see out there.
- 48:55Speaker 6: A lot of people are.
- 48:56Speaker 5: Suing GLP-1 companies for And saying that there are really
- 49:00Speaker 5: bad side effects to the weight loss drugs. I believe
- 49:03Speaker 5: I have some audio of this to a personal injury
- 49:05Speaker 5: attorney representing someone in a lawsuit.
- 49:08Speaker 6: So this is less silly, but more interesting to me here.
- 49:10Speaker 6: Let's play this.
- 49:11Speaker 21: We have gotten around close to 200 calls. There's so
- 49:15Speaker 21: much fear and unknown, and they want answers. And these
- 49:20Speaker 21: are not minor side effects.
- 49:22Speaker 5: One of the side effects is vision loss or vision
- 49:25Speaker 5: impairment from GLP-1 that people are claiming they had. Another one,
- 49:29Speaker 5: and I know this is one that's actually on the
- 49:30Speaker 5: labels for some of these medications, involves a risk of
- 49:35Speaker 5: actual thyroid cancers and whatnot. There are some people who
- 49:38Speaker 5: are at a a larger risk of some of these
- 49:40Speaker 5: illnesses that are told they shouldn't take GLP-1. And what
- 49:43Speaker 5: I kind of find sort of interesting about this topic
- 49:46Speaker 5: or about how people go about deciding what to do.
- 49:50Speaker 6: For your own personal health is that it is a shortcut.
- 49:53Speaker 6: We all know that.
- 49:54Speaker 5: There are probably some people out there who desperately need this,
- 49:56Speaker 5: but there's a lot of people who want to take
- 49:58Speaker 5: these sort of medicines because it'll get them into their
- 50:00Speaker 5: ideal weight, their ideal whatever body, without them actually having
- 50:05Speaker 5: to hit the gym a whole bunch. They'll just be
- 50:06Speaker 5: less hungry and they'll get in better shape and they'll
- 50:09Speaker 5: be happier for it. And I think that for anybody
- 50:12Speaker 5: out there who's not, and I've actually heard Dr. Mobley
- 50:14Speaker 5: talk a lot very positively about some of the data
- 50:18Speaker 5: he's seeing in the world of GLP-1. So I'm going
- 50:21Speaker 5: to absolutely tell you that he knows way more than
- 50:23Speaker 5: me and you can trust him more than me.
- 50:25Speaker 6: But I do think there's people who.
- 50:27Speaker 5: Are ignoring the potential for risks that we're not fully
- 50:31Speaker 5: aware of because it benefits them and they don't truly
- 50:34Speaker 5: need the medication.
- 50:35Speaker 6: And actually, maybe I should ask Dr.
- 50:37Speaker 5: Mobley to pop in On the morning show, I think
- 50:39Speaker 5: Chris Alcedo used to talk to him occasionally about that
- 50:42Speaker 5: topic and about the good things you're seeing in the
- 50:46Speaker 5: world of certain reporting on this medicine, but also potentially
- 50:50Speaker 5: the need to wait more to get a deeper understanding
- 50:53Speaker 5: of any of the negatives that could also be tied
- 50:55Speaker 5: to it. And most people, I'll say this about sort
- 50:57Speaker 5: of a random topic here toward the end of the show,
- 51:00Speaker 5: most people who point to some of those risks say
- 51:03Speaker 5: that the benefit, if you are severely overweight, from a
- 51:06Speaker 5: health standpoint, of the things that you reduce your risk
- 51:10Speaker 5: of getting, like the cancers you could get just by
- 51:12Speaker 5: being completely not healthy in your current form, they do
- 51:20Speaker 5: outweigh some of the risks of taking the medicine. So
- 51:22Speaker 5: there are a lot of people that say, yeah, even
- 51:23Speaker 5: if you increase the risk of this, this, and this,
- 51:26Speaker 5: you reduce all of these other things. And so there's
- 51:28Speaker 5: so much more value in that capacity to do something
- 51:32Speaker 5: because of what it protects you from.
- 51:34Speaker 6: And so I get that too. But maybe I need
- 51:36Speaker 6: to do that.
- 51:36Speaker 5: I keep throwing out an idea to book some of
- 51:39Speaker 5: our other shows on this radio show.
- 51:41Speaker 6: I like Dr. Mobley, like.
- 51:44Speaker 6: Our Money Matters team and whatnot.
- 51:46Speaker 5: I have questions. So we'll probably figure that out. We'll
- 51:48Speaker 5: probably do some of that next week too, getting some
- 51:50Speaker 5: of those people on. But I do know that Dr.
- 51:53Speaker 5: Mobley on his show twice a week has given us
- 51:56Speaker 5: a lot of the definitive medical data in a positive
- 51:59Speaker 5: of the GLP-1s and has really seemed to say that
- 52:02Speaker 5: he's not seeing as much negative stuff as maybe some
- 52:04Speaker 5: of these lawsuits are claiming. So maybe it's all just crap.
- 52:07Speaker 5: I will throw that out there too. And I'll say
- 52:09Speaker 5: it one last time so it's clear. I trust Dr.
- 52:12Speaker 5: Mobley way more than me When it comes to any
- 52:14Speaker 5: of this information, I'm just passing on what I'm seeing.
- 52:17Speaker 5: And I do think that sometimes when something advances, if
- 52:21Speaker 5: you try it.
- 52:22Speaker 6: Too soon, they say that about the iPhone.
- 52:24Speaker 5: Don't buy the brand new iPhone when it first comes
- 52:26Speaker 5: out because the next one after is better because they
- 52:28Speaker 5: fixed any of the mistakes they made with the first one.
- 52:31Speaker 6: That's it. That's the show. Fun to do it from
- 52:33Speaker 6: home today.
- 52:34Speaker 5: Probably won't do this a lot. We will be in
- 52:36Speaker 5: Austin tomorrow for the Texas Faith Festival.
- 52:39Speaker 6: Check them out.
- 52:40Speaker 5: They are sponsoring a trip and a lot of conversations.
- 52:42Speaker 5: We'll be having tomorrow, so we're very excited to go.
- 52:44Speaker 5: I'll talk to you then. KSEV, the voice of Texas.
- 52:48Speaker 8: Thunder! Thunder!
- 52:50Speaker 1: I was caught in the middle of.
- 52:54Speaker 8: A railroad track. Thunder!
- 52:56Speaker 1: Underground, and I knew there was no turning back.
- 53:01Speaker 8: Thunder! My mind raced, and I thought...
