- David: What's up and welcome to another edition of Whiskey and Winners. Although I'm whiskeyless tonight because had a little brain fart and got caught about to hit a target, about to you know, about to have a good time at Target. And Brian sent the text, was like, hey, I'm ready when y'all are. I was like, man. So I was a little unprepared, but that ain't never stopped me before. I'm always unprepared. But welcome to the next edition of Whiskey and Winners, where as Brian has clearly stated, if you put money with us, you're winning, baby. For the year we were looking at close to 60%, I believe it is, or a little over. Greg: The three of us combined right at fifty nine, I think. David: I mean, I'm not good at Brian: Yeah. David: math, but I know that's numbers. I know numbers and I know that's a winner, baby. Every single time. You've been waiting for it, so let's go ahead and jump right in it. No. First well, I guess I should introduce everybody. Everybody should know by this point, but the bearded one, Mr. Gregory Miller, up in my top right. I don't know where he is on yours. What's up, Greg? Greg: I got nothing of consequence to add. I'm gonna go ahead and kick the David: bigger. Greg: ball down to Brian Noblecause I know he's sipping on something special he wants to talk about tonight. David: Yep, Brian: Yeah. David: I'm sure he is. Brian: yeah, I'm I'm sipping on a CFD barrel pickers. That's where I got this hat from them guys. They did a barrel pick David: Man. Brian: at ASW in Atlanta. It's a distiller in Atlanta. They did a fiddler fiddler toasted rye. You can see it when they got their logo on the back. So it was Tyler, Dylan, Farley, Nathan, and DJ. They went down, tried multiple barrels. They landed on this one. It's actually a rye whiskey. It's 95% rye, five percent malted barley, 118.6 proof. I'm not usually a rye fan, but this one drinks like a bourbon. I'm telling you, this very sweet butterscotch. I don't get any of the mint flavor you normally get out of a out of a rye whiskey, and it tastes like a high end bourbon to me. It's it's very good. So I so I David: A ri will burn on you a little bit. It'll get us. You can feel it. Greg: Brian, I know I Brian: I Greg: hadn't had a drink in six months, but you and I have had our share of whiskey together and and I think we share those sentiments. Neither one of us is over overall a big fan of rye t ti typically, but I'd give you some advice to my bourbon friends out there. Don't ever hesitate to give a little rye a sip, 'cause some of them you'll stumble across are pretty damn good. Brian: For sure. And David: You get me. Brian: if you if you ever get a chance to try one that that these guys picked out, don't hesitate because they know what they're doing. They pick out great stuff every single time I've ever tried anything. I got four or five bottles they've done and they're they're awesome. So shout out to shout out to them guys. Greg: Ma maybe if we're smart enough to figure if we can figure out the technical details, maybe we can throw a link or something in the in the comment section of the YouTube video. Brian: Yeah, they got another bottle they're doing coming out in February, so be David: I got a button. All Brian: on the lookout for that. David: right, I got a buddy of mine down the street here. He's a big fiddler guy. He he loves them as well. He sings their praises a lot. And rye, like you said, some sometimes I like a little burn. I like it to feel, I like to feel it when it's going down, especially when it's cold outside. I feel like rye burns a little more than most. But when you put the word toasted in it, that just makes it sound so good. They they got me. You can get me. You can get me with a a description like that. And you can get me with a cool bottle. And they seem to have both in that one. So Brian: Yeah, that toasted that toasted one makes it sweet. That's what makes it drink like the bourbon. So it owed out a lot of sweetness. David: Mm ooh ooh. Brian: It's very good, man. It's eight years in the age, so David: I like that. I might have to give it a try. It's water tonight because like I said, I was a little unprepared. Speaking of unprepared, I was unprepared for this to be one of the bigger games this weekend, but I think it is, even though you wouldn't think it based off their overall record. But number eighteen LSU at Jordan Hare Stadium taking on the newly rejuvenated Alban Tigers. You know my theory on blow your wide scenario, and this is one because Auburn showed enough showed out. I've said it before, though. I was like that coach, something about that coach at Auburn and that coach in Florida that I like, and I hate to say it, but this weekend they're taking on LSU at home. LSU has given up seven and a half points. I got total over under 50 and a half. Whether it's gonna be a 12, no 12, we've been lucky with some 12 o'clock games. Usually in 12 o'clock games, you're like, man, who was this? But here lately, last few weeks have had some 12 o'clock doozies, and this one I think fits the building as well. 11 a.m. if you're in Central Town, that'd be nice. But 64 degrees and sunny, so weather's Greg: Mm-hmm. David: gonna be fantastic. Gonna end up being about 72. I'll take that all day, every day, baby. Brian, we'll start off with you because I think Greg's still licking his wounds from last week with those tigers. It's the battle of the tigers. Who you got, my friend? Brian: This is a the beginning of a brutal four-game stretch for LSU. They got Auburn, then they play Bama, then they play Texas, then they play Tennessee. So that's a this is going to be the make or break part of their season. Also, this is their eighth straight game without a buy. So that's that's pretty rough with the SEC schedule. Early money came in on LSU. This line opened at minus five and a half. Like you said, you can find it anywhere Greg: Mm-hmm. Brian: between seven to eight and a half right now. LSU's defense ranks. second in SEC in total defense, third in SEC in scoring defense. This game's gonna come down to, as y'all know from last week, what Byron Brown does. So started trying to dig into the numbers on what how he normally performs. He does good. He's he's definitely dependent on his legs. If he has to throw the ball, he's not as well. So under defensive coordinator Blake Baker at at LSU, under Running quarterbacks this year and last year, Marcel Reid, they had minus thirteen rushing yards. Trinidad Chambliss was held to two rushing yards. And Lenora Sellers last year had nineteen rushing yards. So he does a pretty good job at keeping quarterback in the pocket. You keep Byron Brown in the pocket, he ain't the same quarterback. So I don't see Auburn scoring a lot in this game. I'm not very, you know, fond of way LSU. They've been hit or miss. So I took the under fifty one and a half for the game. David: Nice. Greg? Greg: Well, you know, Auburn, Auburn finally beat us for about the first time in a decade. And now they've got LSU rolling into town as as a heated rival. So I'm assuming Auburn fans probably hadn't been this excited since somebody from the N C double A called and said, Well, we lost the number, y'all are free. The the biggest question is like you said, it's a blow your wide scenario. We've been talking about it all year. Can Can Auburn get up and match physicality with LSU again without the premise of playing up on the road against a number one team in the country and a heated rival? I'm gonna tell you as I've combed through the numbers, I I I feel like this is gonna be a trend for me this week. There are three or four spots that that I'm looking at from this same point of view. Nothing in me naturally has any desire to lay a touchdown on the road against a team that just beat the best team in the country. So I'm laying seven and taking LSU because it makes no damn sense and that's why I'm doing it. David: That's exactly where I'm falling as well. Go follow in my Boyer Watt scenario. I do wish it was under a touchdown. I give you that. But it LSU can score in bunches though, and Auburn can kind of roll over at times. And I think it's just too much hype happening last week. They're gonna I can't see them coming back, but I'm taking the Tigers. I know that, but I'm taking the LSU, the Bayou Tigers. Let me get LSU, Brian. I'm gonna take. Next up at the beginning of the year, this game, if you said, this I like this one. This one's gonna be a doozy, my friend. Now it don't quite have the hype as it did because Michigan has just crapped the bed so many times and not lived up to the hype, much like their old coach Jim Harbaugh. They're having a rough season. All right. But you got number six Indiana taking on Michigan at the big house in Ann Arbor. Twelve o'clock game here as well. So man, you're gonna have to get the old clicker moving. YouTube TV, multiview, make it happen. Again, weather's gonna be 56, mostly sunny. That's probably gonna be the trend for Greg: Yeah. David: the day. I don't think there's any bad weather this weekend, so that won't play a factor, unlike the FSU Miami game. I have Indiana given up six and a half with a surprisingly low Greg: Yeah. David: total to me, 41 and a half. I Greg, we started with Brian last time. Let's start with you. You think the Think Indiana's gonna come back and they're gonna be like, I'm about to show you why I need to be number two at least. Or you think the big house is gonna be rocking. Greg: I I expect yeah, I I expect IU and the Hoosiers to to have a little bit of a bounce back. You know, laying laying near a touchdown against that Michigan defense in the big house is not something again that I would normally be rushing to do. but the old thing is, and and we've all heard various ways of this being said, well, right now Michigan is dealing with two quarterbacks, which sounds like it kind of might be a luxury until you realize the reason they're dealing with two is because they ain't got one yet. that is usually not a good thing. David: It's not Chris Leak and T Bow. Greg: that's usually not a real good thing. And I think that Indiana defense is gonna pose problem for whichever Michigan quarterback is on the field. I do expect it to be a low scoring game. I don't think Michigan gets past ten, maybe thirteen against this Indiana defense. My gut says IU and Signetti get right even on the road against a really good D, and I'm gonna back the Hoosiers here at six and a half. David: Nice, right? Brian: I like I like that. And like he mentioned the quarterback problem. Yeah, Bryce Young got benched last week for Tommy Carr. I expect Tommy Carr probably to start the game. I mean, you you get benched at halftime of a game, you just don't come back start the next game, especially when the fans are putting so much pressure on them. So I see that. This is gonna be a rock fight. This is gonna be a defensive battle. FP SP plus has Indiana's defense ranked number two in the country, has Michigan's defense ranked number three in the country. You know, this is a low total, like you said, so I kind of steered away from that. But I did remember, you know, y'all remember in twenty twenty two when Iowa and Minnesota played each other, you had a total of thirty one and a half. Everybody was all over the over. That game went under and ended thirteen to ten. So don't David: Huh. Brian: let it sc scare you, especially in a big ten. But I do David: Yeah. Brian: I mean, you got a freshman Tommy Carr making who you gonna make your first start against? A Kurt Signetti defense, that's gonna be pretty rough. So I took the same as Greg, Indiana minus six and a half in this game. I also took the Michigan team total under seventeen and a half in this game. And like I said on the recap show, Kirk Signetti and the Indiana Hoosers since he's been there has been the best fourth quarter team in the country. He's he's won the fourth quarter by two points or more in 19 games since he's been there. So I also took Indiana minus one and a half. For the fourth quarter. Greg: Ladies and gentlemen, that is the first time in the history of whiskey and winners. We have the trifecta. We have got three plays on one game. What could possibly Brian: Thank you. David: One game. Greg: go wrong? Michigan 37, Indiana 20. Fuck it all. David: I mean, talk about a blow your wad scenario. Blow your wad scenario. Jeez. I'm fighting everything Brian: Mm. David: in my little spidey sense that, you know, sometimes I just have a feeling that goes off and I'm like, I I look for the story of what can happen and I try to I it I'm having to fight that now because who's it? The car, I mean it the lit the name carr has some weight in Michigan and that's his Lloyd, he's got that Lloyd Car lineage to him. He's coming probably gonna be on his first start ever. He's gonna be playing against the number six team, which let's be honest, is probably the number one team. They should have won that game and they should be number one right now. It's fight it fighting everything in my power to take Indiana because I just can't bet against Signetti. I cannot against the Michigan team. But I if I would not be surprised if some magic happened to where that car kid shows out because he's too young to know any better. Sometimes being young like that can play you to your advantage because you don't know that it's a big game and you you like, well, I'm just gonna get in and do what I do. So I wouldn't be surprised, but if I'm putting money on it, I'm gonna take Signetti. So I'm gonna give me Indiana with six and a half. So, but it's telling you, Brian: That's all three of us on that same one. David: I'm telling you, it's it's hurting me though. Greg: Yeah. What could go wrong? David: It's hurting me though, because something in my brain says car is gonna have a big game. So something in my heart, rather, should I say. Speaking of in my heart, my heart is in Tennessee with Dolly. Dolly passing has really done something to those Tennessee volunteers. Ever since they put Dolly on the helmet, they've been representing much more than her Nephew is because boy, there's a lot of fight going on with Dolly's old wheel and everything, but that's a different show. We'll cover that in the comments at superheroes. The volunteers are taking on the game cocks in what Greg and I pointed out at Pretty Stadium in Williams Bryce Stadium. 3:30 game. Temperature's gonna be about 70 with kickoff, around 68 when it ends. So that's gonna be no problem whatsoever. I got Salad, South Carolina giving up two and a half to the Tennessee Volunteers, ranked number 11. And I've known this enough by listening to Greg that when it sounds too good to be true, there's probably a reason for it. But I got the total at fifty and a half. Brian, what Tennessee's getting points? Brian: No. This game don't I don't underst I don't make no sense. Greg: Don't fall for it. If you listen to the recap show, I've already spotted this one for you. Don't fall for it. Brian: But we've we've put this out several times about, you know, pay attention to what the line's telling you. This is a hundred percent a trap game. So here's a little nugget for our listeners if you want to hear something positive about Tennessee. They're nine and one all time on road games following the week after they played Alabama. That includes five and against South Carolina. So computer models Greg: But how many of those games did they beat Alabama? Brian: now. Computer models show this game. And Tennessee covering about 60% of the time. South Carolina, pretty good rushing attack, but they're playing an elite Tennessee front. South Carolina has started fast in three of their four games. They were leading three of their four SEC games. The only one they weren't leading was Alabama and they got blown out in that game. Coming off a bye. This line has moved five points since it opened, and you still got 84% of action coming in on Tennessee. So it does not make any sense to me. I don't like the line movement at all. I'm not going to make official play because of that. I'll encourage anybody out there that wants to bet this game to shop the line because it is moving and there's you can find two to two and a half points of play in either direction on it. So I would lean towards taking South Carolina minus one and a half if it was me, just because that's what the numbers telling me to do, but I ain't touching it. Greg: I can outline a scenario to support either team. I can talk about South Carolina being a gritty, good defensive team with a good running game at home. I can also talk about Tennessee's defense and their running game and how they could look at the end of the day, Tennessee just beat Alabama by 16 points and somehow they are now an underdog to a three lost South Carolina team. Either somebody knows something that we don't, or the SEC has officially become one of David's reality TV shows. I ain't falling for the trap. Gimme the sorry ass game cocks at home minus one and a half, two, whatever I'd get the best number. David: Well, I don't know if you I'm hook, line, and sinker, baby. I'm in there because I it goes against a little bit about my blow your wide scenario, but I don't think it beating Alabama at that point, the way they beat them, I don't think that was a blow-your-wide scenario because it wasn't even really a game. And I think that it's a reverse blow your wide scenario. So like I said, maybe it's sentimental, maybe it's the Dolly situation, but if you're gonna give me points with Tennessee the way they played this year, I'm gonna take the points because Tennessee, I'm in in honor of our buddy Ty Eaves, I'm gonna go with Tennessee. Boy, a lot of cigars. I don't know if it'd be quite as many cigars smoked as it was this past Saturday, but but I'm taking Tennessee. Give me the Dolly, the Dolly factors in for me. Brian: And get I can get you Tennessee three and a half. David: even better. That's what I'm talking about, baby. Speaking of the aforementioned Alabama, they are taking on the unranked Texas AM. That's weird to say, seeing how they spend, I don't know, a gazillion dollars a year. Texas AM is taking on Alabama at home in beautiful Bright Denny Stadium. Alabama, we mentioned, got smoked last week, but there's even with that, they're giving up 15 and a half to Texas AM. Temperature's gonna be on the Warmer side about 78 degrees. This is a 330 game. Texas AM is four and three after beating the Citadel. And Alabama last game they lost, of course, to Tennessee 26-10. Brian, 15 and a half points. I know it's at home and I know it's Alabama, but Texas AM, they have talent. It just ain't showed itself. Get you a sip of that good old toasted fiddler. Brian: Man, man, that's good. Y'all did a good job. CFD belt barrel pickers, great job. Bama's lost two straight games. So this is elimination games from there on now for them. They they're play they gotta play desperate. Mike Elko, they hadn't had a great year this year, but he is known as a defensive guy. So I think he can watch some tape. He can see what Georgia did, what Tennessee did to kind of keep Keelan Russell bottled up. I also think Keelan Russell might be a little hurt. He don't he ain't looking quite the same. So David: I agree. Brian: it's a thing. But A and also has Marcel Reed at quarterback. So that's usually not not a good thing. the public seems to be hesitant to lay the two touchdowns with Bama by the way they've looked the past two weeks. 66 of the money percent of the money still coming in on AM. So if this line dropped below 13, I might take Alabama, but Greg: All right. Brian: I'm not going to touch it either. I mean A and has been given a lot of chunk plays up through the air, but Ryan Coleman Williams is still Greg: No. Brian: out, so that's going to hurt Alabama. If I made a play in this game, it'd be the under fifty and a half, but I'm going to leave it alone. Greg: Yeah, I think the the question here isn't whether or not Alabama's more talented. It's just whether or not Alabama can create enough separation against a pretty solid Texas AM defense. the the issue for AM all year has been their offense. And frankly, if if they can't sustain drives, then that may give Alabama the chance to get enough possessions and opportunities to go out and win comfortably. The other side of that, the other argument is that, you the Aggies defense does give them a chance to stay in the game and and gives them at least a realistic option of keeping this within two touchdowns. I'm with Brian. I I'd I'd wait on a number hoping I could get below 13. but the other thing is I'd really want to wait and see that final injury port with some of the offensive linemen for Alabama, see what Keelan Russell's status is and things like that. If you get down to twelve and a half or lower, I would lean Bama, but I would definitely wait a little while, see get some more injury news and and see if that number will move in your favor. David: Well, you mentioned Keelan Russell. It seems like against Georgia, every third down, he was getting outside, and that didn't seem to be the case with Tennessee. They did a good job. And could be what they learned from watching Georgia, but I'm with you. I think he may be a little shaky shaken up. And Ryan Coleman Williams Jefferson Johnson, whatever his name is now. he even though he's been down last season, he's starting to show some signs this year of actually being what he used to be, but he's not a hundred percent. And If you're gonna give me points like that, that many points, I'm not saying Texas AM is gonna win outright, but I got my money on Texas AM. I'm that could be me being suckered in, but sometimes you can overthink those sucker plays. And I'm gonna try not to overthink it and just look plain and simple and say, as much talent as Texas AM's got, you got that kind of points with a wounded Alabama team. I'm gonna take it. So give me Texas Greg: It's David: AM. Brian: Fifteen and a half, I mean that's big lean that way out. Yeah. David: A lot. That's a lot. That's that's hard. And listen, they they well, we mentioned those buildings are out there for a reason, they're big buildings, but I'm gonna do my share to take a little brick home. Speaking of brick at the death death valley, where they come down the little stairs, that is pretty cool. That is quite when Dabo's touching Greg: And they'd stairs, he's just the ill. David: the rock. I mean, that brick on the side, I mean, going down the rock going down. You gotta touch the rock, run down our own. Coach Tyler Carlton touched that rocket tower too and ran down that hill. Dabo still tried to give it little, give it a go. don't quite have the intimidation fact that it used to, but Virginia Tech, the hokies are rolling into Clemson George at Memorial Stadium, Death Valley. Night game. So that gives me hard to play at a home game like that where people get rowdy at night. I got Clemson giving up two and a half. Total forty nine and a half, so let's just say fifty. Another beautiful sixty two degree day, gonna be around fifty five, but they're gonna be so hype that temperature ain't even gonna matter. Greg, we've we've been on the hot seat. We've been saying Dabbo's been on the hot seat all year. Virginia Tech is not the Virginia Tech we remember, but still this is a I think somewhat of a rivalry. I've seen it happen. It's obviously ACC battle, but they've had a little back and forth. What say you, my friend? Greg: Well, I have I've got the unique opportunity to hear, I think, to offend three people very quickly David: Okay. Greg: before I even get to my pick. First of all, Brian, close your ears. This is the only ACC matchup on the big rundown, and it's F and Virginia Tech at Clemson. The ACC other than Miami is shit. Y'all are a sorry ass conference. Second, look, I love and respect Tyler Carlton and out of deference to him, I probably shouldn't say this, but that fucking rock pet and shit's the stupidest, gayest tradition in all college football. And you are David: How dare you, sir? Greg: And you are an idiot for thinking that's cool, watching them run down a hill. I can't wait till one of them trips and falls, tumbles over an athletic trainer, and it's all kind of commotion. David: Radio is rolling over in his grave right now. How dare you, sir? Greg: I mean, this is this is just a terrible, terrible night game. It it's in Death Valley, but I think this boils down from a from a matchup standpoint. It's really gonna be which offensive line can handle the defensive line or the other with without excessive help from the backs and and the tight ends. Clemson's quarterback room has become like a freshman seminar, and I'm sure somewhere Dabo is just trying to convince everybody that's part of his master plan. I lean towards Virginia Tech plus the points. I've been a little more impressed with them all around as a team this year. but I got no official play on this with all the injuries and and it it's too unpredictable. And again, I don't think either one of these teams is really worth a shit, so I wouldn't put my money on it. David: Brian, he's you'll let the man disrespect your conference like that. After that game we had last week, which was the game of the week, the game of the week to me. Greg: No lies told. No lies told. David: Actually, I I don't know. It's that was a tie for game of week, Brian: Eps. David: that the BYU Notre Dame game, which Brian: I a absolutely. I mean, that's why we're trying to get out of the conference. We sued the conference. Clemson's David: Yeah. Brian: trying to get out of the conference. I saw today that Miami said they'll fuck it, they'll go independent and get out of the conference. So they David: Pull another day. Brian: Yeah. this first ever meeting between Dabo Sweeney and James Franklin as head coach, it's probably the last meeting between Dabo Sweeney and James Franklin as a head coach. Clemson's defense has been pretty good this year, but their offense under Tate Reynolds has been terrible. One hundredth in scoring, a hundred and sixth in total offense. They're also a hundred and thirty-third in red zone touchdown percentage. They allow a sack on ten percent of their dropbacks. And I got a question for y'all. How many touchdowns do you think that Clemson has thrown this year? David: Ooh, the way you say it, I'm gonna go with three. Brian: Two. You're right, Greg. Two this year and that's David: Two thrown touchdowns. We're what? Six games in? Greg: Bet you both of them somehow cost me money too. Brian: Yeah, and zero of them were against Charleston Southern. David: Two touchdowns. Brian: Two touchdowns and David: I could throw, I mean, what what was that receiver that used to be for Clemson that was so good? Yeah. Greg: Justin Ross. That was one of them. David: Well Hunter Ripfro was there, but they had a little speedster. What's that what's that little speedster that was out there? Like they had some receivers. Hopkins, yeah, Hopkins. Brian: Yeah. Greg: Tiggins, Danny Watkins. Brian: No Hopkins? No, you had Hopkins David: They've had some boys grow through there, but and two thrown touchdowns. Good grief. Brian: Yeah, it's pretty pretty bad. I mean, even you got stuff going in different directions. Even the ESPN matchup predictor, they give Clemson a fifty-six percent chance to win. SP Plus says Virginia Tech's gonna win. So they're they're all over the place. Clemson has only scored over twenty seven points in one game this year. And that would not include Charleston Southern always. We'll throw that out. Virginia Tech has only given up twenty eight points one time this year, and that was worth with against Pitt, and that's when they still had Mason Highchel at quarterback. I don't understand this line. I don't see how Clemson's favored. I don't understand any part of it. But I am going to make an official play on it. I'm going to just hold my nose and bet it, and I'm going to take Clemson's team total under twenty-seven and a half. David: Well, I tell you what, this will be the game they come out and throw five touchdowns just because you bet. Brian: Probably Greg: No, it'll be defensive scores, special teams. They'll they'll get the number, but it won't be passes. David: I didn't realize how Brian: Okay. David: many how few touchdowns they've actually thrown, but I I did already take Clemson, so I am gonna take Clemson because at a home game at night, I feel like that's worth at least three points, if not four points. I know they say that somewhere in the neighborhood of five or six, but You're gonna give me two and a half. I'd rather have three and a I'd I'd rather be or if you're not gonna give me I'd I'd rather be one. Greg: Spit it out. David: I'd rather be one point, but two and a half, 'cause if it's three, don't it still a push or something like that? Does it got three? So yeah. Brian: You get three, but you you get it at minus two and a half would be your best number if you take Clemson. David: Yeah, so I'm gonna go with Clemson, even though you got me tongue-tied when you talked about just two touchdowns. Good. Grief Almighty. Paul Johnson threw for more touchdowns. Like with that Brian: You're right. David: good grief. That's just insane. Speaking of throwing touchdowns, there may be a new guy throwing touchdowns in Austin this weekend because I've been saying it all along. March Manning is not the guy that we want. Something about his the way he does it. Way he throws his mechanics is not right. But there's there's rumors, there's talk. I've heard a little something about maybe him not playing, but big game to not play because number seven old miss is rolling into town to number 19 Texas, but it should be unranked Texas, to be honest with you. Another 730 game is gonna be a doozy. It's gonna be a little hot, like 84 degrees in old Texas, but it's gonna be nice. That's 84 is like 74 here. But I got Texas giving up three and a half, a total of 53 and a half. Ole Miss, another one of those one week, you're like, man, that's the best team in the country. And the next week you're like, I what what happened? What's going on here? But Ole Miss at five and one taking on Texas four and two. Ole Miss coming off the if you want to pull the blow you wad scenario, that win at Missouri, the way they won, was not expected by a lot of folks. So it was a big one. But Greg. Greg: Definitely not me. David: Greg, we'll go with you. You think Arch is gonna play? Greg: But here's the thing. David: First off, you think Arch is gonna play? Greg: I I think they're gonna stick with Arch. I I I think Sark is locked in. I don't think he can make that move right now. If if he pulls Arch at this point, he is basically giving up on Arch Manning as a Texas longhorn. And I don't think they're quite ready to do that. All right. So this I I mentioned the theme early in this. Look, Texas's best defensive player, Colin Simmons, is likely out. that is a big deal for this Texas defense. The Ole Miss offense looks like a Ferrari, and the Texas offense looks like a 27-year-old snapper lawnmower with a manning sticker attached to it. And somehow Texas is laying three in a hook. And there's another one of those. Either somebody in Vegas knows something I don't, or they're getting ready to buy their second yacht. I the only play that makes sense to me is take Ole Miss plus the three and a half. So give me the horns and lay the points. David: A little swerve there. I like Brian: Get a minus three. David: it. You got me there for a second. Brian, it is. I mean, it's a weird one. It's been an odd week this week as far as the numbers that they're throwing out there. What say you? Brian: What what what's what's the irony that Manon is playing for his job against Ole Miss. So hey. David: Yeah. Greg: Either way, he might be playing for his next job. David: Yeah. He might be go ahead. Brian: could be. this is yeah, like Greg said, this is a Vegas no something trap game. I mean, Texas favored three, three and a half, depending on where you look at it. We even with eighty five percent of the bet still coming in on Ole Miss and it's they're not moving it. So that tells you that they are perfectly comfortable with taking the money in on Ole Miss. Texas two and four against the spread. Like he said, Colin Simmons is out. That's going to be a big part of their problem. I mean they got he's responsible for 50% of their sack. So that is going to slow them down a little bit. My Greg: Also the only long form to pee on the field this year. Brian: that's true. My model shows the average score of 29 to 17 Texas And the under hitting sixty-three percent of the time, and that's on ten thousand simulations. Seventy-four percent of the bets are on the over. I've told y'all from the beginning it David: That's a lot of points. Brian: it's not a great idea to take Trinidad champ with a Trinidad Chandler's team to take the under. But 74% on the over, my simulations are hitting 63% David: Mm-hmm. Brian: on the under. Give me under 54 and a half in this game. David: Whew, that that is a good amount of points. And you said talk about Arch Manning possibly work playing for his next job. The way he's been playing, the only way he's gonna get a job is Greg: Mm-hmm. David: if old grandpa talks to his old boosters at Ole Miss and has his uncle say something as well, be like, Hey, Trinidad can't play again. Y'all gonna need somebody. Because I think I just I'm not sold on the fella, but I like Ole Miss. I've enjoyed watching them, Greg. mentioned before how Oxford is a beautiful place that he'll be visiting here very shortly. you giving me points with Trinidad Chamblers, I'm taking it all day, even though it is at home in Texas. I've not been sold on Texas. Sark, he's gonna be snarky with O'Holly Row if she's there. I don't know if she is, but he's gonna be pissed. I don't like the way he's been he looks like he's stressed. Got low hopefully he doesn't Greg: Mm-hmm. David: get back on the wagon. He has his own issues but it The way this season's going, it'll get you back to drinking. But old miss, I think, is gonna get back on the bottle because I'm taking old miss, baby. Give me those points. Brian: Three and a half. David: Mm-hmm. Another weird one. This one's this one's odd too. Number 14 Houston at number 10, Utah. And I say it's odd just on the points. I feel like that's a lot of points. I got six and a half Utah's giving up. I think Houston's a better team than what they showed. Now I have been high on the Mormons here lately because BYU showed out for me. So I'm loving the Utah folk. But Houston Cougars take on the Utah Utes at 1015, another night game. 10-15 our time, 8 15 their time. So it's gonna be about 51-52 with intermittent clouds near kickoff, cooling to about 48. A little cool out there. Utah, like I said, giving up six and a half, total 56 and a half, which is a lot of points, but Houston can rack up some points at times. Utah 6-0, so that's big. Houston 6-1. Utah quarterback Devion Dapier has got 1,400 yards. Fifteen touchdowns and only four picks. Not to mention he's got a hundred nearly two hundred rushing yards and three touchdowns. So Houston can rack up the points, but Greg, you taking the old Mormons of Utah or what? Greg: I mean, look, it's it's hard not to love those folks from the state of Utah, man. I I've talked about it every time that's come up. I I I really like this Utah team. I like the way they win at the line of scrimmage. I like the way they commit to and succeed at running the ball. I I I think that's what happens here. I I think they win the line of scrimmage. I think they limit that Houston offense's number of possessions. and therefore I th I think they cover honestly. I think, you know, you look at it, Houston's got to travel to Salt Lake City. Utah is a it's a wild place, man. Utah's undefeated at home. The air is thin. The fans are soaking. And I'll let David explain what that's all about. And frankly, I just love the state of Utah. I love Park City. I love all those little cities around it. I'm rolling with the Utes at home, baby. Give me, give me anybody from the state of Utah right now. David: Like it, Brian. Greg: David, explain soaking for the fellows. David: Soaking is what I'll do I should I I don't even want to get into that, but just look it up. Urban Dictionary. It I've heard it was not I've heard Greg: Don't look it up. Not at work. David: it was not exactly true, but I'm like, there's too much talk about it being true that it's not. But I there's some weird things that the Mormons do do, but that was odd. I don't know how you can get away with it, but. Kudos. If you can talk somebody into that and claim that that's not what it is, then kudos. But I'm sorry, Brian. We got distracted, Brian. Greg got me Brian: Okay. David: distracted. Brian: Good college game day in town. When's the last time y'all remember college day and game day being in Utah two weeks in a row? So that's that's w what David: That is that's big, yeah. I hope they don't give away another three million dollars that they did last time on that kit. Good God, Spider Man. They better get Brian: I love watching that that kit. David: Batman back out there for this one, boy. Brian: yeah. I mean, head coach Willie Fritz at at at Houston, he's a great coach. I mean, I like Willie Fritz. I mean, y'all remember when Georgia Southern came into the FBS, he was the head coach and brought him into the FBS. So Willie Fritz knows how to coach. He's been shooting probably been coaching for y I can't even tell you how many years, but he always seems to be winning. He was at two lane before Sumerall got there, so he helped build that. One thing that we've told our listeners from the beginning is always look at where your money's going. This is this is a prototypical pros versus Joes when it comes to bets. You got 70, I mean 68% of the bets are coming in on Houston, but you got 58% of the money coming in on Utah. So that tells you that the big professional money is coming in on Utah. So most of the betters are betting on Houston. I do think Houston's a better team, but Utah at home, that's where your big money's coming at. They just ain't building them big casinos by letting the public win most of the time. So I'm not touching it like Greg l like Greg is. I would lean the same way he is at Utah minus six because of that number. I do think Houston is the better team, but when the numbers are going opposite directions like that, I'll try to leave that alone. David: Well, I'm kind of glad because I'm going the other way and I like it when we kind of bet differently because it got some expice to it. It ain't good if we all agree on everything, but you can't have two big weekends, back to back big weekends in Utah for college football. That if it was basketball, that's one thing. Because ironically the Mormons are pretty good at basketball. They can play. But two big weekends, two big upset wins, even though it's not technically upset, back to back weekends in Utah, I don't see it happening. So I'm gonna take Houston. I don't know why. I just Houston has been a soft spot for me this year. I've enjoyed watching them the times I have watched them. And they got a team, they got a squad, and I just feel confident about Houston. So I'm taking Houston and my points. Greg: I dig it. I don't I don't hate that play. Brian, why don't you give us your your off the rundown plays and I'll give mine and then we'll get into the dog and the parlay. Brian: All right, I got LSU Auburn under 51 and a half, Indiana minus six and a half, Michigan team total under seventeen and a half, Indiana minus one and a half for the fourth quarter, Clemson team total under 27 and a half, old Miss Texas under 54 and a half. Greg: Then what what do you have from off the rundown? Any extra bets you got that you liked? Brian: yeah, I got some a few. So my extra bats, I'm taking me to pit at Miami. Pitt quarterback making a first real road start. Why the weather will be a factor again in this game, but like we saw last week, that didn't really affect Malachi Tony without gloves on, by the way. He still did fine. So David: Well, when it's wet like that, the gloves can be it can work against ya. Brian: Right. Yeah, that's true. And he I don't I don't think it would have mattered what he was catching with. That guy you can't cover him. David: No, he can catch BB's in the he can catch BBs in the dark. He's he's something else. Brian: Yeah, that yogurt's good. So I I took Miami first half minus nine and a half. I think they Greg: Yes. Brian: jump all over Pitt early. then I got take me to the Minnesota and Iowa game. That total is sitting at thirty nine and a half. I almost thought about going over that, but I decided not to I didn't want to mess no part of that. Even though Iowa can probably score to forty by themselves, I don't know Minnes David: If this was a wrestling tournament, that would be a good matchup. Well, Minnesota and Iowa, that would be ooh, studs. Brian: Yeah. Yeah. I'm not sure Minnesota can score, so I took Minnesota's team total under seventeen and a half. Then I went to Oklahoma and Mississippi State. I still don't think Camario's playing. So Oklahoma can't score. So you got me forty five points between two teams that can't score. Give me under forty five and a half in that game. Then I went to Rutgers and Northwestern. I took under fifty-eight and a half in that game. To me, that's about ten points too high. I mean I know Rutgers beat Maryland and got Mike Loxley fired, but is he gonna beat Northwestern and Braun? They've been pretty good this year. So give me the under fifty eight and half. Awesome, man. David: Have you seen Northwestern's new facilities? Northwestern's got some sweet, they got some money in old journalism school. Geez. Brian: Yeah. And then my last play that was not on our main rundown, Weber State against Montana State. Taking us back David: There it is. Brian: to Bobcat Stadium and Bozeman. Battle for first place in the Big Sky Conference. You got Weber State coming in at four and one in the conference. Montana State coming in at three and one in the conference. Montana State's getting healthy. We get quarterback back, Justin Lamson back, running back Adam Jones back. Safety and team captain Kaden Dowler back. And you don't think David: Yeah. Brian: I'm gonna lay these points? Give me Montana State minus the twenty and a half. David: I like it. He's a he's a he's a loyal fri loyal fan, my friend. Brian: Mm. Greg: All right, I'll lead it into my extra, I ain't gonna give you near as much analysis, because all you really care about is the plays. I got Army at Tulsa, give me the golden hurricane. It's close to a golden shower, minus one and a half. I'm told y'all will play the Wyoming game every week from here on out. As long as they're on the board, I'm on the board with them. Air Force at Wyoming, give me a service academy playing in Laramie. Give me the under 45 and a half. I am going to get bit by the same snake yet again. And I'm going to take Georgia Tech at home against Boston College minus four, four and a half, whatever that is. And then I'm going follow David's, blow your wad theme. BYU going on the road at Central Florida after that big win against Notre Dame. Give me Central Florida plus the seven and a half to keep it close at home against the Cougars and big as fan David: Bro. Greg: as I am of the Cougars and the way they play ball. David: Bro. Greg: And then my final off the radar play is, think San Jose State might be one of the best teams or worst teams in all of college football. They're on the road at Nevada. Give me Nevada minus six, six and a half, whatever you can get as long as it's under a touchdown. Brian: You get Wyoming Air Force under forty six and a half. Greg: Even better. I don't think they get to 40 but I'll Brian: Yeah. Greg: take anything I'll take any help I can get. B Nobles who are you looking after your Moneyline parlay piece? Give me a small favorite. Brian: Even though you made fun of that ACC earlier, give me SMU over cow. David: Didn't one of y'all pick SMU earlier in the year to be really be the surprise great team of the year of the I thought I remember hearing that, yeah. Brian: É a bird. Eu Greg: Kevin Jennings Brian: estou. Greg: just too inconsistent for them to really threaten. I'm gonna take New Mexico at home against North Dakota State. I can't imagine the North Dakota State Bison traveling all the way down to New Mexico are gonna farewell. So give me New Mexico State at home. I think there are four, four and a half points, which is some decent value on that one. And then Brad, I'm going against what you were talking about earlier when I'm throwing out my Moneyline underdog. I don't know why I can't possibly give you any sort of statistical analysis to pack this up and really no sort of logical reason to do this, but I'm going to take Mississippi State at home against Oklahoma because I just don't think Oklahoma is really any good. And those cowbells are crazy. They're still an off chance. Camario gets out there, but either way, I like it to be a slow, ugly game in Starkville. And I think Mississippi State might come out with the upset win at home. David: Nice. Brian: All right, let's let's help get Lincoln Riley to Tallahassee and give me Wisconsin over USC. David: Who's this kid? Hey. What's up, Late Train? I was just wondering if I could play here for a second. Yeah, yes, give me a second, I'll come down there and I think something's up at Bryce's house. All right. All right. Greg: Who's he? Georgia Tech ball to college game. David: Hey, Lane. Do you watch football? yeah, a little bit. I wa I watched like like probably like two rounds of football. Here, pick a team. Hey, Georgia Tech and Boston College. Tell us who you gonna pick. Here, say it in the mic. I'll probably say Georgia. Come back this way. Georgia Tech or Boston College. Who you did? Georgia Tech. Georgia Tech. He's listen, his dad is a diehard Georgia fan. He's gonna be upset that you picked Georgia Tech. George Georgia Georgia literally lost to his one team. It was like twenty-four, I think, to twenty seven. You're right. The analysis is right. We lost Greg: Thank David: to Auburn. I remember the other team's name that be Georgia. It was Auburn, but Greg: Tell him to get ready for next Wednesday night. David: Next Wednesday night we're gonna need you to come back and help us out. Brian: What? David: That's a good kid. He goes to Hebron Christian School, which you know remember Alec O Alec Over Georgia. He coaches over there and so does David Green, his son. David Green Sons play I think and he he's coaching over there quarterbacks coach so yeah they got a lot of Greg: All right, David, give us your smooth exit. David: Well, that's it. Another episode of Whiskey and Winners. Like Greg always says, make sure you've bet responsibly. Don't be losing the house. But if you are going to lose your house, we're going almost 60%. So if you need to make a mortgage payment, ride with us. Don't do that. But we appreciate all you checking in. If you got any other deep analysis you want us to go into and my ridiculous theories, let us know. Follow us on YouTube. Hit up Brian. Let's be honest. Hit Brian up. He's our numerous guy. As always, thanks to him for putting together. Greg, thanks for you for coming not prepared as always. is there anything else you guys want to say before we get out of here? Greg: I think you touched on it, my man. If you're still listening to this thing, like, share, subscribe, comment, do all the things to help us continue to grow. We appreciate any and all engagement we get. I did have to defend, I think, Brian's Notre Dame pick on TikTok, because he doesn't have a TikTok. Somebody was calling him out for, David: Right, hang on, buddy. Greg: I think you took Notre Dame, so they were just gonna roll their helmets out there and walk out and be like you were the win. And I Brian: Some. Greg: told, I told the gentleman, said, well, feel free to post your picks publicly every week for everybody to see. So it ain't as easy as we make it look. But no, we do love doing this. This is more fun than we probably deserve to have. And thankfully we've been on a pretty good run. like I said on the recapture, y'all all please tell David's picks this weekend. Cause we got to find out if this mojo is for real. David: Lane, you say see you next time? See see you next time. Greg: Ace! David: Peace. Brian: Yeah.
