- 0:00Speaker 1: Speaking of incredible President Trump hosting is really Prime Minister
- 0:03Speaker 1: Benjamin Nettan Yaho at the White House yesterday with the
- 0:06Speaker 1: President unveiling a twenty point piece plan to end the
- 0:09Speaker 1: war in Gaza and release all hostages after seven hundred
- 0:13Speaker 1: and twenty five days in captivity. It's now up to
- 0:16Speaker 1: Hamas to accept.
- 0:19Speaker 2: Everybody who wants to see an end to the violence
- 0:21Speaker 2: and destruction should be united in calling for Hamas to
- 0:24Speaker 2: accept the extremely fair proposal so that we can end
- 0:30Speaker 2: the war and get us back our hostages right now
- 0:34Speaker 2: and have everlasting peace.
- 0:38Speaker 1: National security and military analysts and international relations expert doctor
- 0:42Speaker 1: Rebecca Grant joins me now, Doctor Grant, good morning to you.
- 0:46Speaker 1: Thank you so much for joining us. Can you characterize
- 0:49Speaker 1: the significance of this moment as we await Hamas's response?
- 0:54Speaker 3: An incredibly significant moment. Trump has crafted a land More
- 1:00Speaker 3: deal and Carly peace could sweep the Middle East within
- 1:04Speaker 3: hours if Hamas agrees, and there's a great path forward here,
- 1:10Speaker 3: not just for Gaza, but really for the whole region.
- 1:14Speaker 1: Well, if this has agreed to, there will be a
- 1:17Speaker 1: temporary transitional government overseen by this Board of Peace that
- 1:21Speaker 1: President Trump and former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair will
- 1:24Speaker 1: be a part of after that, doctor Grant, What will
- 1:28Speaker 1: the goal be when it comes to who governs Gaza? Right?
- 1:33Speaker 3: And this board of peace I love it. Trump is
- 1:36Speaker 3: going to be the head of it. Blair's participation is essential.
- 1:39Speaker 3: And then it's a complex plan. But basically Gaza goes
- 1:44Speaker 3: to the people of Gaza. But it's going to be deradicalized.
- 1:47Speaker 3: No four hundred miles of tunnels, no weapons, It's going
- 1:51Speaker 3: to be redeveloped. There will be peacekeepers coming in from
- 1:54Speaker 3: other countries like Indonesia. Perhaps there will be a transitional
- 1:59Speaker 3: authority keep with me here, and then they'll be able
- 2:03Speaker 3: to determine their own future, but de radicalized and not
- 2:08Speaker 3: a threat to their neighbors. And Israel and the Palestinians
- 2:11Speaker 3: will talk about a future horizon and then hopefully Abraham
- 2:16Speaker 3: accords across the regions.
- 2:17Speaker 1: So what are the chances Hamas accepts?
- 2:20Speaker 3: Oh I wish I knew. You know, Trump seems optimistic
- 2:24Speaker 3: that they are really leaning on them to accept. And
- 2:28Speaker 3: this shows you what we've known, which is the other
- 2:31Speaker 3: states in the region have had it with Hamas. Hamas
- 2:34Speaker 3: has no options now and Egypt goud or everyone. They
- 2:39Speaker 3: want Hamas to take this deal, and if they don't,
- 2:42Speaker 3: Israel will continue that military campaign to secure Gaza City.
- 2:47Speaker 1: Yeah, and Steve Wikoff said yesterday that the difference this
- 2:50Speaker 1: time around is that Arab leaders, European leaders of Palestinian
- 2:53Speaker 1: authority all have agreed to this, really putting the pressure
- 2:56Speaker 1: on Hamas to accept. So we'll wait and see what
- 2:59Speaker 1: they say. I want to point out something that I
- 3:02Speaker 1: found notable in this twenty point plan. It was point
- 3:05Speaker 1: six and it reads, once all hostages are return, HAMAS
- 3:09Speaker 1: members who commit to peaceful coexistence and to decommission their
- 3:13Speaker 1: weapons will be given amnesty. Members of Hamas who wish
- 3:17Speaker 1: to leave Gaza will be provided safe passage to receiving countries.
- 3:21Speaker 1: So members of Hamas will be given amnesty. Doctor grant.
- 3:25Speaker 1: But apparently Prime Minister Benjamin Netnyak, who worked for many
- 3:28Speaker 1: hours to get the line that the Hamas members need
- 3:31Speaker 1: to decommission their weapons, and he sees that as a
- 3:35Speaker 1: major win within this twenty point plan. But Hamas members
- 3:39Speaker 1: given amnesty allowed to say in Gaza. Does that raise
- 3:42Speaker 1: red flags to you?
- 3:44Speaker 3: Well, you always wonder, but it shows how much they
- 3:47Speaker 3: need to get this deal done, they'll also release about
- 3:50Speaker 3: one thousand prisoners and additional Palestinian prisoners on top of that.
- 3:55Speaker 3: So this is a deal they should take it. Hey
- 3:58Speaker 3: also notice there is now global public support for this deal,
- 4:04Speaker 3: not for Hamas, not for radical Palestinian violence, but for
- 4:08Speaker 3: this deal. And that is another huge factor closing off
- 4:13Speaker 3: that global protest movement that's been supporting a Moss to
- 4:17Speaker 3: some excepps.
- 4:17Speaker 1: But after two years in captivity, yeah, seven hundred and
- 4:20Speaker 1: twenty five days, forty eight hostages, twenty presumed to be
- 4:23Speaker 1: alive could be reunited with their families if Hamas agrees
- 4:26Speaker 1: to this. We have to ask you about another big story.
- 4:29Speaker 1: Can't believe that there's even more major news to talk
- 4:31Speaker 1: about on the international front. But today there's going to
- 4:33Speaker 1: be a big meeting in Quantico, Virginia the President Secretary
- 4:36Speaker 1: of War Pete Hegseth. Hundreds of generals and admirals from
- 4:39Speaker 1: around the world have been called to join into this meeting.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Have you ever seen anything like this before? And what
- 4:44Speaker 1: do you think this meeting will ultimately be about?
- 4:47Speaker 3: Never? Never seen anything like it. Get that black coffee brewing.
- 4:51Speaker 3: Sometimes one service will call most of its generals in
- 4:55Speaker 3: for a big meeting. But even that's rare. I think
- 4:58Speaker 3: it's great whatever is said today, for them to have
- 5:01Speaker 3: the chance to mingle. Young generals go to a course
- 5:05Speaker 3: with others called Capstone, and they meet admirals and generals
- 5:08Speaker 3: from other services. But this will be good. It's good
- 5:11Speaker 3: to have a friend when you're dealing with the challenges
- 5:13Speaker 3: of joint Command. And hey, plenty of military threats out there, Russia, China,
- 5:17Speaker 3: we need to keep control of space, we need to
- 5:19Speaker 3: build our aircraft carriers. There's a lot to talk about,
- 5:22Speaker 3: and it'll be good to see them all get together.
- 5:24Speaker 1: Yeah, and President Trump says it's going to be a
- 5:26Speaker 1: very nice meeting. They're going to be talking about how
- 5:28Speaker 1: we are doing militarily. So we will be watching. Doctor Grant,
- 5:31Speaker 1: thank you so much for joining us this morning. I'm
