- 0:00As a finding out does not literally have to mean the look
- 0:04and the garb. It's much more much a a great
- 0:08deeper level of a Hasid is doing things in its fullest way.
- 0:12So he explains, you have a Hasid, someone serves a sham in
- 0:16a full way. Someone is a Hasid when it comes
- 0:19to charity, which means he's always thinking of different
- 0:22ways of helping out his friend financially.
- 0:24He's worrying about them. He's worrying about the
- 0:25community financially. That's a Hasid mentality.
- 0:28Another one is worrying about people's emotional well-being is
- 0:33a very important point. Worrying about emotional being
- 0:36and well-being, as we'll see, has many, many layers.
- 0:39There are some people who completely disregard the whole
- 0:42thing and they'll say whatever they want to somebody can be
- 0:45strong, can be hurtful. It could be someone putting them
- 0:49down does not make a difference. They're doing their thing.
- 0:52They're not. They're completely disregarding
- 0:54someone else's existence. That's the obvious problematic
- 0:58this. And there's another person who
- 1:02is, you know, socially conscious, so he knows not to
- 1:08say anything too strong. He wants our relationships.
- 1:10You're not going to mess up. But he's having all sorts of
- 1:14innuendos and hints and things that nine ways for some.
- 1:17They figure out a way to hurt a person rather directly hurting a
- 1:20person, right? And now people are smarter and
- 1:23these people would never even throw an emotion ever hurt a
- 1:27person back. End of the day, they were
- 1:28realized that certain things that they're doing, like talking
- 1:32about themselves too much or building themselves up too much
- 1:36is inadvertently making someone else feel bad.
- 1:38You have different layers of being conscious of other
- 1:42people's well-being. Is it developing yourself as a
- 1:44hasee? And the ultimate person walks
- 1:47into the room and says, I see 10 guys in the room.
- 1:50I have one goal in my mind. It might be because I want to be
- 1:54socially accepted, but I have one goal on my mind.
- 1:56I want them all to feel good. How do they leave the room
- 2:01feeling good, Feeling better at least than they walk there.
- 2:04That requires building them up. That requires talking to them,
- 2:08listening, caring about their life, avoiding thinking about
- 2:13mentioning your life, avoiding putting yourself up in a
- 2:16pedestal, all these different small things that shape a
- 2:19picture. Instead of it being all about
- 2:20me, which is our nature, Say it Brandy.
- 2:23Brandy. Exactly.
- 2:26Instead of it being bragging about myself, talking about
- 2:28myself, hinting to what I have and what I'm capable of.
- 2:31All these typical things that people somehow don't realize
- 2:33that no one wants to hear ever reality.
- 2:37Nobody ever, at least in general, wants to hear about
- 2:40another person's success too much.
- 2:42They don't want to stomach it because that and then my means
- 2:45reflects on me and means I have to figure out now how I fit in
- 2:49that picture, how that's going to somehow make me feel better
- 2:52about myself. And usually it doesn't.
- 2:54So person being conscious of other people's social well-being
- 2:58is a great me. Da Anthony Dao Hasidou I read
- 3:01through inside botnet fish worrying about their nefesh,
- 3:06which literally means emotional matters.
- 3:08She's she's Tadil where one puts an effort la sot la haviero to
- 3:17provide for his friend call Korat Ruach.
- 3:21Sheesh Piado. I want to give my friend
- 3:24whatever gratification I can give you.
- 3:26I want to make you feel as good as possible.
- 3:29How is that possible? If I want to, I can do it.
- 3:32Any person can do it to his fellow man if he wants to.
- 3:35It's all he needs is to want Ben.
- 3:37Ben in a cavort, whether regarding giving you as much
- 3:39honor as possible, Ben behold shot in your name or anything
- 3:44else that would make you feel good.
- 3:45Cavort make you feel proud of yourself, make you feel
- 3:49accomplished, make you feel experienced, make you feel
- 3:52worthy, make you feel like you have a valuable opinion.
- 3:55There's so many layers. I give you an example.
- 3:58You have something like you said opinion.
- 3:59You have something you want to get done.
- 4:01I'm going to go over to a person and you ask them their opinion
- 4:05immediately. You just made them feel like
- 4:08$1,000,000. Case closed.
- 4:11The smartest move, I think, in building relationships is to
- 4:15involve other people into your life in a nice way, in a humble
- 4:20styled way. They like you, they appreciate
- 4:23you, they enjoy being around you.
- 4:25Another small move is to turn to them and to worry about their
- 4:29lives again. They like you, they appreciate,
- 4:31they appreciate the care that you have in their lives.
- 4:34She's a basic concept of social well-being.
- 4:37I mean, this is basically, you know, in the book, how to win
- 4:40friends and influence people. Pretty much all the tricks, all
- 4:45the moves over there, all them. We do it of a person who's a
- 4:50Hassie to his fellow man. In other words, if a guy's
- 4:52overly conscious of his friend, the outcome will lead through a
- 4:58strong relationship. Call Marshall.
- 5:01You're there anything that you know which if you do for your
- 5:07friend, your friends going to be happier.
- 5:12Mitzvat Hasitut, hula asoto, it's a hasitut.
- 5:17It's a great level to do this and I cannot stress enough how
- 5:21much is literally defines our existence with other people.
- 5:26Your entire existence in this community and our community
- 5:30families, in your immediate family, in your marriage, with
- 5:34your children, with our parents, all these different areas, they
- 5:38all are predicated on this one concept.
- 5:41Are you conscious of your own social well-being or theirs?
- 5:45If it's theirs, you will have a million friends.
- 5:48If it's yours, we will have a lot of people that you may
- 5:51officially get along with. But no one wants to be around
- 5:54you because you're worrying about yourself.
- 5:56It's a whole different existence.
- 5:57You're walking through them and they want to hear from you
- 6:00because they want a kind word, they want a smile, they want to
- 6:04hear something nice, they want to feel good.
- 6:06This is the makeup of people. To be conscious of their
- 6:10well-being is the essence of being a social person and
- 6:15getting alone. And it's the greatest thing to
- 6:17have to be someone who's worried about other people.
- 6:19Think I give you as an example, he gives a strong example.
- 6:24A rabbi was all for a good job and he went a good teaching job.
- 6:31He went to do I do all the time. Ever shock.
- 6:36I answered shock. He said, can I take this job?
- 6:38They bring this in the bottom over here.
- 6:40It's usually a formality. You offer a good teaching job,
- 6:42you think the job, What's the question?
- 6:45The robber said no, why no, This is a high level.
- 6:48Think about this. He said the job that you're
- 6:51taking, I know someone got fired beforehand to open up the
- 6:58vacancy for you to take it. And the reality is when you take
- 7:01that job, the original person will forever feel bad that his
- 7:05job was given away. And all the other factory people
- 7:08say I, I recommend avoid taking that job.
- 7:13Do something else now, one SEC, we always hear this and we say
- 7:17one SEC, I got to do after care of my family.
- 7:20I have to do what's right. I can't be overly sensitive.
- 7:23It's all true in theory, you're right, but just always go to bed
- 7:28saying one second, did I make people feel good or the
- 7:32opposite? If it's the latter, I have
- 7:35problems. If it's the former, I'm good to
- 7:37go. That should be the only question
- 7:39then today. I know you have to carry your
- 7:40family. That's true.
- 7:41I know you have to worry about, you know, supporting your
- 7:43children. All that's true.
- 7:44But being conscious of no other people is the number one
- 7:48character concert that we need to have the number one.
- 7:52And if we do it, great. If we don't do it, disaster.
- 7:55That's what this example is telling you.
- 7:56That's a Hasid anything, Sir. Oh, Cloud.
- 8:00He's as close again, Sheila, It's at in a mushroom and it's
- 8:03out of cloud. Definitely a person to be
- 8:06careful not the pain of the person.
- 8:10Understand, if you do something that's famous, something that's
- 8:14very widely successful, you have siblings, you have friends, have
- 8:20relatives, you have people out there all going to react,
- 8:24usually, sometimes a level of jealousy.
- 8:28I love feeling small. There's so many different ways
- 8:31that we can build other people up, and there are also many
- 8:34different ways that we can take other people down completely
- 8:37without knowing, by the way, without even realizing.
- 8:40I can hurt an entire room without saying a word.
- 8:44It is correct. It's the way it is.
- 8:46You walk in, you see something strong, you hint at something,
- 8:50you build yourself up. Goodbye.
- 8:52The whole room is smaller. You do the opposite, almost
- 8:56bigger. Being a Hasid means being
- 9:00conscious of other people's financial well-being, other
- 9:04people's physical well-being and their emotional well-being.
- 9:07The reality is, what is the one that's most important to people?
- 9:11Their emotional well-being. The one that's most hurtful is
- 9:14their emotional well-being. The one that's most impactful
- 9:16for the positive are other people's emotional well-being.
- 9:19It's our job and our duty. We have the control of 1000
- 9:24hearts. You and I have the control of
- 9:27everybody's hearts and everybody's minds.
- 9:30OK, I'll give you a classic example.
- 9:31Don't you want to have a classic example?
- 9:33Classic. I gave a speech in the summer
- 9:37school and there was a man who I never knew before, was never
- 9:41there before. And he say it was a speech that
- 9:44I had to prepare and ow ow before because my brother was
- 9:47supposed to speak that speech wasn't able to make it finally.
- 9:51So I got up and speaking. The guy is sitting there, he's
- 9:55doing this the whole time. He's naughty.
- 9:57It happens fine. So because I'm a little bit a
- 10:01little bit subconscious of the speech because I hadn't fully
- 10:04prepared, I kind of enjoy the nod now.
- 10:07I've met like he's hearing sometimes you can talk to a room
- 10:11and no one makes any facial expressions.
- 10:13It doesn't mean they're not listening, it just means they're
- 10:15doing something else. So they're just not doing it
- 10:17right. So you need a little bit of an
- 10:18acceptance somewhere with you. He's agreeing.
- 10:21And I said, you know, great. Good.
- 10:22Very good. Feels great.
- 10:24All right, we'll help you along. It helped me along the drop.
- 10:28I've seen the opposite too, but help me along the door.
- 10:30I had the door. Nothing.
- 10:32OK. At the end of the speech,
- 10:35Shabbat shaloms, this guy comes over to me.
- 10:39He's not from the shore. That's been there before.
- 10:42He says. Yelling, He says like out loud.
- 10:44He says, who takes care of the all the yachts?
- 10:47So why does a man takes? He says I need mashlin, Juanit
- 10:53Dalia with Kadish 'cause he needs Ashkava.
- 10:57And he says and I'm hard of hearing and I can't really hear.
- 11:02He said he totally did not hear a word.
- 11:04I said, yeah, award. I said hear what you need.
- 11:07But the nod gave me what I needed.
- 11:10It's a reality and it's the truth and it doesn't even
- 11:13matter. He could have been a fake person
- 11:15or I mean the same outcome because we all like that.
- 11:17We are as simple as that. Just someone accepting our
- 11:21existence in this world makes a difference.
- 11:24And a guy right now I met before who can't hear turns out made me
- 11:29feel going to change his speech. In fact he gave me fuel for the
- 11:33speech to go on. I was debating should I
- 11:34continue, should I stop? I had fuel because of this guy.
- 11:38He couldn't hear a word. That's how life is.
- 11:40People got it. What if you ask an opinion?
- 11:42If someone get there, you could say what do you think I did?
- 11:45How do you think I did? You give them the real answer,
- 11:48even if it's not good. That's the figure odds.
- 11:51Even if it's not good, you tell. You have to figure it out.
- 11:54You have to figure out a way to give that opinion and also get
- 11:58a. Look, I think he could have did
- 12:00better because I think you have the potential.
- 12:02OK, so you could say, I'll give an example.
- 12:05I used to ask. I honestly speaking, I was never
- 12:08put down as a kid ever. Never ever put down as a kid,
- 12:11not once. And that's a great thing.
- 12:14It also makes you a little bit a little bit needy and sense he
- 12:19can't handle Chris. All right, Amen.
- 12:23Rejection. So I'm not the biggest criticism
- 12:26guy. I don't love Chris.
- 12:27Rejection is great. I don't love rejection
- 12:29personally, but for me personally, it's not good for
- 12:31me. That's because she didn't want
- 12:32brought up because I wasn't brought up.
- 12:33So that's what you learn. So now whatever happens, if I
- 12:36get a speech and someone comes over and says thing a rabbi, I
- 12:40don't agree with you. A rabbi, you could have said it
- 12:42better. I had no idea what you just
- 12:44said. One of those types of things,
- 12:45right, Happened. So to me, always I said, I would
- 12:49say at the time, I'm willing to hear that.
- 12:50I want to hear it because I want to build.
- 12:52I want to get better. Yeah, but I want to hear in a
- 12:54way that I can walk away feeling good.
- 12:57Figure out how to say the comments in a way, you know, you
- 13:00could say, listen, I see a content that's amazing, but I
- 13:03don't like the way you you were a friend.
- 13:05I I see that you're probably very smart, but I don't think
- 13:08you're talking to the community. One of these lines.
- 13:11We all know what you mean. You mean the speech is garbage.
- 13:13You know, when you said it in a good way, you know, when you
- 13:15hear them say, Rabbi, your speech was awful.
- 13:16Exactly what you're talking to me is that there's that's not
- 13:19constructive has to be, you know, guarding them along the
- 13:23path to continue on the way and on the way up.
- 13:26That's a great edge. This is the concept.
- 13:28Can we stop at this?
