- 5:27Speaker 1: Well, hopefully CT joins us.
- 5:28Speaker 1: He's going to be running a little late, but he does have Charlie's batch.
- 5:32Speaker 1: So tonight, to get right at it, everybody who's drinking along.
- 5:35Speaker 1: Dario Wilson is with us tonight also.
- 5:39Speaker 1: He's drinking on some bookers, dario Dario, i think I was right on, he had Charlie's batch.
- 5:48Speaker 1: No, awesome, supernash also has Charlie's batch right over there.
- 5:56Speaker 1: And then I for some reason was able to taste Charlie's batch on opening weekend at the kitchen table at the James BB beam distillery with Supernash and CT, but I haven't been able to pick up a bottle.
- 6:12Speaker 1: You two fuckers have already picked up your bottle.
- 6:15Speaker 1: I'm out.
- 6:16Speaker 1: So all of a sudden I'm looking on the OHLQ website and I'm like holy shit, there's bookers, it's at the Buyers.
- 6:23Speaker 1: I'm going to go And I'm like I'm getting bookers, i'm getting Charlie's batch and I go and I'm like checking out And it's like it's the apprentice batch, It's batch two, what the shit?
- 6:34Speaker 3: It's like no, and I was like when you called me up and said that I was like holy shit, i didn't even know that apprentice batch was out, because that's what I was complaining about to all all these people that I've been looking for and all these stores I've been in and looking for.
- 6:50Speaker 3: I was like I can't believe that only one batch has been out, like around South Carolina and North Carolina and all that where I've been looking in Tennessee And only shit.
- 7:00Speaker 3: All of a sudden you come up and apprentice batches out.
- 7:04Speaker 3: So now, I've got to go on the hunt for that.
- 7:06Speaker 3: Yeah, but hunt for another Charlie's batch, because I'm just the, it's just I'm still on the look for that too, brother, because I hadn't taken it yet in honor of you and tonight, and I can't wait So well, yeah, what we're going to do tonight is going to everybody out.
- 7:29Speaker 1: there's lucky because we have Charlie's batch, and hopefully CT will have Charlie's batch when he comes on and you two can talk about it amongst yourselves.
- 7:38Speaker 1: Well, and then I have apprentice batch, so I'll tell everybody what that tastes like.
- 7:44Speaker 1: I'm going to open that.
- 7:45Speaker 1: It's a, as Alan Bishop would so lovingly say, we're going to do a fresh crack.
- 7:51Speaker 3: There we go.
- 7:51Speaker 3: Actually, i opened mine earlier and fresh, cracked it two or three times, turned it upside down and distributed that air all throughout the whiskey.
- 8:05Speaker 1: Okay.
- 8:06Speaker 3: So the coolest thing, no crack.
- 8:08Speaker 1: It don't matter to me.
- 8:09Speaker 1: So in the pregame we were covering it a little bit, but let's cover it again.
- 8:13Speaker 1: It's kind of like Booker's to the scotchy bourbon boys.
- 8:17Speaker 1: I think Booker's is one of the reasons I would have to say when it comes to the brand, the marketing, the family that makes it the whole experience for the scotchy bourbon boys, 100 percent makes Booker's and I have to say this I enjoy it's.
- 8:38Speaker 1: It's my favorite overall.
- 8:41Speaker 1: I'm CT.
- 8:43Speaker 3: Yup.
- 8:43Speaker 1: CT is coming in.
- 8:44Speaker 1: It's like it's my Welcome, ct.
- 8:46Speaker 1: Hey, what's up guys?
- 8:47Speaker 1: Hey, ct is in the house.
- 8:52Speaker 1: We're all together.
- 8:56Speaker 1: It's like you know, it's going to be a fun night.
- 8:58Speaker 1: It's going to be wild, it's going to be fucking wild.
- 9:01Speaker 1: Everybody, just get ready.
- 9:02Speaker 1: Oh, nice, nice shorts there.
- 9:05Speaker 1: Buddy, you got those red shorts.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:07Speaker 1: Yeah, do you think?
- 9:08Speaker 1: Hey, i'm going to wear my Should.
- 9:10Speaker 3: I get a wear model.
- 9:11Speaker 3: I'm going to wear my.
- 9:12Speaker 3: What is that?
- 9:13Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, He was out of the color.
- 9:22Speaker 3: Now It's been a long night for him.
- 9:27Speaker 1: He's already drank half a bottle of Booker's.
- 9:30Speaker 3: Well, actually I've been digging into my old batches here.
- 9:34Speaker 4: Well, but Drink a little bit of that one.
- 9:37Speaker 1: Oh just throw that shit out, but I'm going to tell you what I'm going to be drinking right now.
- 9:42Speaker 1: This is what I'm drinking right now.
- 9:43Speaker 1: I'm pulling it out.
- 9:44Speaker 1: This is this.
- 9:46Speaker 1: I got the leftovers from.
- 9:51Speaker 1: That is C07, dash B, dash seven.
- 9:58Speaker 1: That is leftover from bourbon on the banks And this I mean honestly, nash Don't you see too, yep, yeah, oh boy, this poor here.
- 10:15Speaker 1: We opened this at bourbon on the banks, shared this with AMSI.
- 10:18Speaker 1: This was the start of it.
- 10:19Speaker 1: And look, look at what's left in that bottle.
- 10:24Speaker 1: And I was so freaking honored to be able when Nash, when Super Nash, you were Super Nash.
- 10:33Speaker 1: She's like, i got that bottle.
- 10:35Speaker 1: The rest of this bottle is for you.
- 10:37Speaker 1: And I was just like, holy shit, these are the kind of bottles that I mean.
- 10:42Speaker 1: What, what did you look this one up when I, when we were talking, did you find out what it was, or wasn't even?
- 10:48Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 10:48Speaker 3: Yeah, i got that one, the C07 B7.
- 10:52Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 10:54Speaker 1: Let's talk about it.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Oh God, all right, i'm the cork is.
- 10:57Speaker 1: Don't break the cork.
- 10:59Speaker 1: Let me see, let me get to it here.
- 11:06Speaker 3: It's named after creator Booker No, and it is bottled and filtered at the cast strength at 68 years age at Barrow's Char 4.
- 11:21Speaker 3: Oh, what is that?
- 11:22Speaker 3: That's some prehistory.
- 11:26Speaker 3: Let's get down to it, right.
- 11:30Speaker 1: This is the seven year two months.
- 11:34Speaker 1: What It's?
- 11:36Speaker 1: seven year, two months, yeah, and 130.8 proof.
- 11:45Speaker 3: But, what year I got a little bit on the nose and the palate, you got the year We're going to.
- 11:52Speaker 3: Yeah, it's that one 130.8.
- 11:57Speaker 3: Right, yeah, 130.8.
- 11:58Speaker 3: And on the nose you should be getting like chocolate covered caribos, root beer, floats with vanilla ice cream, and the aromas are aggressive at a 65.4, but soles, teas and complexities, like hidden beneath the blanket of alcohol paper, something vegetable and Rudy, like sassafras or filet powder.
- 12:29Speaker 3: A strong sense of sappy dark pervades, but the interplay between the sticky, sweet candy notes and the vegetable root notes drive the complexity.
- 12:41Speaker 3: After a rest in the glass of building cloud of butterscotch cake I sing emerges.
- 12:48Speaker 3: Is that kind of what you're getting on the nose or what are you getting?
- 12:58Speaker 2: The wing So much going on there.
- 13:02Speaker 1: How you got it all.
- 13:04Speaker 3: The root beer, the whiskey, the whiskey's got.
- 13:09Speaker 1: I get the root beer definitely the root beer and the ice cream maybe the vanilla root beer kind of flavor, but and then let's see what it tastes like I poured myself a healthy pour.
- 13:25Speaker 1: This is gonna be the kickoff.
- 13:27Speaker 3: This is it all right holy, no smooth oh my gosh, smooth vanilla out the yin yang and the butterscotch, the butterscotch for the finish.
- 13:50Speaker 1: So there's a.
- 13:50Speaker 1: You can actually taste the barrel char a little bit, which then mixes with the vanilla and turns it butterscotch and the oh god all these, all these notes right here.
- 14:04Speaker 3: This is like from, like a new opening of the bottle and that's been resting since last year, since last bourbon on the banks.
- 14:12Speaker 1: Yeah, since we opened that up, i could just like wait, you could.
- 14:18Speaker 1: You just fucking did.
- 14:19Speaker 1: You fucking just did, hey, anyways, all right.
- 14:25Speaker 1: So I got this thing.
- 14:27Speaker 1: Just I'm gonna sip throughout as I mix and match, because tonight's a mix and match, nice, now you and CT a CT.
- 14:34Speaker 1: You got Charlie's batch right, yes, and so does you guys are gonna start.
- 14:41Speaker 1: This is batch one.
- 14:42Speaker 1: I have been deprived of Charlie's batch, not tasting it.
- 14:45Speaker 1: I did get to taste it with you guys on opening weekend.
- 14:49Speaker 1: We were there that.
- 14:50Speaker 1: We were there that Friday at, did you?
- 14:53Speaker 3: oh so, hey, see, t did you see, one thing before, because you didn't get me a chance to say what I was drinking on.
- 15:00Speaker 3: Yeah, but I'm drinking on the special bottle that brought us together oh yeah, this is.
- 15:09Speaker 3: This is the bottle and the second bottle 94, what is that?
- 15:14Speaker 3: yeah, it's actually a 94.
- 15:18Speaker 3: Yeah, and this is the co1 a 18 that I.
- 15:23Speaker 3: I found the two bottles in it and Jeff's got the original that.
- 15:29Speaker 3: When I flew up to Kentucky I mean Ohio, december 2019 we opened up that bottle that he has and when I became the seventh member and the first time I ever podcasted in his there it is, yeah, he was.
- 15:49Speaker 3: I saw that him getting that painting signed by Fred and Freddie know, on the Kentucky bourbon festival live.
- 15:58Speaker 3: Okay, and he had posted that and I would.
- 16:02Speaker 3: I've got a looking at it and I was like I'm messaging, like the day after on Facebook through messenger, and I was like, dude, i just have to find two bottles very similar to what you have and they're unopened in Atlanta and I.
- 16:23Speaker 3: That's how we became talking and became friends and brothers and, like I said, that was in September 2019.
- 16:31Speaker 3: In December, december 7th, i flew up there and brought a bottle, opened it up on the podcast for the first time I ever did podcasted.
- 16:41Speaker 3: And then that second bottle, this one here that day.
- 16:47Speaker 3: I bought that one.
- 16:48Speaker 3: I actually slid it back on that top shelf up there, went back ten months later and got this one wow, yeah so that's so cool, i'm drinking on tonight and that's why bookers means so much to us, because it's sort of brought us together.
- 17:07Speaker 3: But it was also at the time, you know, one of my favorite bourbons when I was getting into bourbon and and because I just love the flavors of it and what they were doing with it and all in the batches and the presentation, the boxes and everything.
- 17:22Speaker 3: You know just everything about it.
- 17:25Speaker 4: So yeah, it's kind of elusive.
- 17:27Speaker 4: You know you only can get it certain batches during the year and you know like they're found out.
- 17:33Speaker 4: Batch one, charlie's batch, didn't hit really around Marion and up there that were hard to find.
- 17:40Speaker 4: My bottle of this Charlie's batch came from North Carolina.
- 17:44Speaker 4: I was there when Rachel and I went down to see Nick Calo and we went to see him and I said you know what?
- 17:53Speaker 4: there's a little liquor store off here to the side.
- 17:55Speaker 4: I'm gonna stop and lo and behold.
- 17:58Speaker 3: They had it hey, they have been searching for it ever since they came out, believe it or not.
- 18:04Speaker 3: I just picked up mine just this past Friday in North Carolina, me and Sherry.
- 18:14Speaker 3: When we ran it up, we actually found it in Brevard.
- 18:18Speaker 3: When I stopped in because I always like to stop in this little town in Brevard, north Carolina, because I know it's one of the smallest little store towns and all that and I stopped in, i asked the guy about it, after looking over the shelves and everywhere and I know right where to go when I go in there.
- 18:35Speaker 3: And then I turn around as I was going out after I found another bottle.
- 18:39Speaker 3: I got the 290, the 291 batch.
- 18:42Speaker 3: Well, he says.
- 18:44Speaker 3: I asked him.
- 18:45Speaker 3: I said do you have any bookers?
- 18:47Speaker 3: oh man, that come out a week ago up here and we put it all out on the show open.
- 18:53Speaker 3: But hold on a second.
- 18:55Speaker 3: Let me ask the guys, let me get them to check in the back and see if there's any more left.
- 19:00Speaker 3: I'll be doggone if he didn't come out with two bottles of it and I tried to talk about it out of both of them is can I get one and let Sherry get the other?
- 19:11Speaker 3: he's like no, there's only two left.
- 19:13Speaker 3: We gotta sort of spread it around.
- 19:16Speaker 1: Y'all are together and, like whoa, she's sharing me well let's, let's, let's, let's, let's expound on what you just fucking said.
- 19:30Speaker 1: Everybody, the scotchy bourbon boys, one of our main scotchy bourbon boys, super Nash and his wasn't even a fiance his life partner are going to be tying the knot on July 1st in Colorado.
- 19:49Speaker 1: Congratulations, super Nash man, you, we, love, sherry, we, we.
- 19:56Speaker 1: I feel like we have a history, even that first day that you brought that bottle up and what happened?
- 20:02Speaker 3: yeah, the podcast, yes, yes, and meeting her very first first weekend, and she was like, oh my god, she don't even know these people.
- 20:12Speaker 3: And you were flying up there and I know Jeff, i've talked with him and I said I already know him, i know him, i know him, trust me, they're good people.
- 20:25Speaker 3: He's inviting us into their home.
- 20:27Speaker 3: I said he's almost like my brother already.
- 20:34Speaker 3: And she was skeptical, skeptical at first, you know, but then you know just what was it minutes afterwards, you know, she knew, like I say, we were brothers and it was meant to be but yes, we are getting married and Sherry, i picture, don't try to spin it.
- 21:09Speaker 4: Wow, you both spin like a freaking washing machine.
- 21:12Speaker 1: I'm telling you yeah, so do you, you just do the fast cycle of washing.
- 21:16Speaker 1: I got it going right there, i got it, i got it, you see oh that's better.
- 21:25Speaker 2: That was the best yet he's been working on it, all right, anyways, one day.
- 21:31Speaker 3: I'm gonna keep watching you, see, see it and keep practicing.
- 21:34Speaker 3: One day I might have it.
- 21:37Speaker 2: I don't feel like it's something worth practicing, but you know, hey, i appreciate it well, you've done we spoke it from the guy that spins for hours you make it an art maybe practice trying to get in the back of a freaking Mustang convertible.
- 22:39Speaker 1: That might be something you'll never get that one yeah, all right so you guys crack your bottle of Charlie's batch, and let's get on to what you guys are getting good all right bookers learn more.
- 23:15Speaker 1: What is going on.
- 23:20Speaker 1: You guys getting that opened, it's open.
- 23:25Speaker 1: You getting in your glass getting a little air.
- 23:30Speaker 1: There was another, there it is, let's see, all right, next batch speaking of Tim Bean.
- 23:38Speaker 4: Did you see, or maybe you guys talked about it, but they are gonna be releasing the Hardens Creek second edition yes, yeah that's really cool year 17 year from three different warehouses.
- 23:54Speaker 3: All the same mash bill age in same barrels in three different warehouses.
- 24:01Speaker 3: Oh my gosh, I cannot wait.
- 24:05Speaker 4: That Hardin's Creek was so good and people were like, oh, it's 150 bucks.
- 24:09Speaker 4: Well, it is $150, but sometimes you're paying for that experience of something that's been in the barrel for that long.
- 24:19Speaker 1: Yeah, all right guys.
- 24:20Speaker 1: I got the shared screen right here too.
- 24:23Speaker 1: Look at that.
- 24:25Speaker 4: I still can't read it, because I can't read this damn card either.
- 24:28Speaker 1: Charlie's Batch.
- 24:30Speaker 1: This batch is made up of barrels from production, but I can read the screen so I'm going to.
- 24:35Speaker 1: This batch is made up of barrels from production dates that were aged in four different warehouses.
- 24:40Speaker 1: The breakdown of the barrel storage for Booker's Charlie's Batches is followed 3% came from 5th floor of 7th story warehouse Q, 17% came from the 4th floor of 7th story warehouse G, 24% came from the 4th floor of 7th story warehouse Z, 27% came from the 5th floor of 7th floor of 7th story warehouse C And 29% came from the 5th floor of 7th story warehouse 1.
- 25:09Speaker 1: The color of this batch is pleasant to the eye, with an amber color of well aged bourbon.
- 25:13Speaker 1: The nose is a balanced is balanced with too much wood.
- 25:17Speaker 1: The nose is balanced, without too much wood and with hints of oak, toasted nuts and vanilla.
- 25:23Speaker 1: This is an aroma that dad always look for in his Booker's.
- 25:26Speaker 1: It tastes balanced, with a slight warmth and has a pleasant finish.
- 25:30Speaker 1: This batch came out just the way dad liked it And I know he would be happy that I named it for Charlie.
- 25:37Speaker 1: I hope you enjoy this batch of Booker's as much as I do.
- 25:40Speaker 1: The first release of Booker's Bourbon 23 collection is a Booker's Batch 2301, charlie's Batch.
- 25:46Speaker 1: The batch is named in honor of Charlie Hutchinson's, the craftmen behind the signature wooden boxes that each bottle of Booker's Bourbon comes in.
- 25:56Speaker 1: He is also a longtime family friend and former employee of my dad, booker Know.
- 26:00Speaker 1: Charlie started his career working at the Booker Know distillery.
- 26:04Speaker 1: He was quite the storyteller and would entertain others with his tall tails throughout the workday.
- 26:08Speaker 1: He was also one to pay close attention to the details, doing something over and over again until it was perfect, just like dad was with his whiskey.
- 26:18Speaker 1: It's not hard to see why they got on so well.
- 26:22Speaker 1: After several years, charlie left the business to open his own cabinet shop with his brother.
- 26:26Speaker 1: Charlie handcrafted the very first Booker's Bourbon wooden box in his garage and he created every box for us.
- 26:32Speaker 1: Since He and his brother have expanded their business to create other fine wood products for different brands and projects in the beam family, including supplying custom furniture to the new Fred B Know distillery where Booker's Bourbon is now distilled.
- 26:47Speaker 1: Charlie still lives near our Booker Know distillery and even finishing and vacationing with his family in South Carolina.
- 26:55Speaker 1: One of these days, my son, freddie and I hope to get out there to fish with him.
- 27:01Speaker 1: Our whole family is so grateful for Charlie, as he was one of the first people to help us make Booker's Bourbon a recognizable brand.
- 27:08Speaker 1: Charlie is very worthy recipient of his own batch and we are excited to honor him.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Fred Know beams, seven generation master distiller.
- 27:16Speaker 1: There you go.
- 27:18Speaker 3: That's a very cool tribute, yeah, and that just right there just also.
- 27:26Speaker 3: just that's probably why Booker's brought us together, you know, because you know, like they said, charlie enjoys vacation with his family down in South Carolina.
- 27:40Speaker 3: Now what a coincidence that is.
- 27:44Speaker 3: We live in down in South Carolina and then, you know, coming up with Booker's and all this stuff, it just that's just kind of you know yeah, we need me and.
- 27:57Speaker 1: CT need to get down to South Carolina and go fishing with you, nash, on your brother's pond tomb boat Hey.
- 28:06Speaker 3: I can definitely put you all on some big fish and we'll go out fishing and we'll drink Booker's the 45, 50 pound fish.
- 28:17Speaker 1: Yeah, we'll.
- 28:18Speaker 1: Uh, we'll drink Booker's, not mezcal.
- 28:23Speaker 3: No, yeah, yeah, definitely Booker's.
- 28:25Speaker 1: Because I don't.
- 28:26Speaker 1: I don't want CT to drown.
- 28:28Speaker 4: Nash, nash, did you see how he tried to do that, Like he was going to offend me in some way, shape or form.
- 28:33Speaker 4: I didn't Nothing, because I'm going to still drink the mezcal.
- 28:38Speaker 2: Not on the boat not on that boat.
- 28:41Speaker 4: Oh, I'm too.
- 28:41Speaker 4: I like Hold on a second.
- 28:50Speaker 1: As I drink that one.
- 28:51Speaker 1: God, that's a good Booker's.
- 28:53Speaker 1: What year was that from The C707, the one I'm drinking on?
- 28:59Speaker 3: 94.
- 29:00Speaker 1: 94?
- 29:01Speaker 1: .
- 29:01Speaker 3: Yep.
- 29:02Speaker 1: And then what was the?
- 29:03Speaker 1: He was still alive.
- 29:05Speaker 1: Yeah, he was all the way to 2004.
- 29:08Speaker 1: Yep.
- 29:10Speaker 3: Or two.
- 29:11Speaker 3: Well, i'm just saying he just he had a very good hand in that distillation that we were searching.
- 29:18Speaker 1: Jeff do you see what this bottle is?
- 29:19Speaker 1: Yeah, i do, i know what it is.
- 29:23Speaker 3: Oh yeah.
- 29:24Speaker 4: Okay, jeff, you have a choice.
- 29:26Speaker 4: Either I blend this into this Booker's, yeah.
- 29:33Speaker 1: You're such a dick.
- 29:38Speaker 2: Is it?
- 29:39Speaker 1: going to be Jeff.
- 29:41Speaker 3: Every podcast has to have one Every.
- 29:45Speaker 1: Put the 43 in there.
- 29:46Speaker 1: Fuck the mess, Kyle.
- 29:47Speaker 1: And why do you need to make Booker's better?
- 29:51Speaker 1: You didn't even taste on Charlie's.
- 29:52Speaker 1: Oh my God, Oh I did, i did.
- 29:56Speaker 4: Oh, you want it Here.
- 29:57Speaker 4: I'll add a little more.
- 29:58Speaker 4: Oh, my God There we go.
- 30:00Speaker 4: Oh, now we give it the old Swirly Swirl Yeah.
- 30:05Speaker 1: Matt Shield says always delicious There, that fucker's going, i'm going to do it All right, so it's just short spins.
- 30:13Speaker 1: Look at that, i got it going.
- 30:15Speaker 4: I got it going.
- 30:15Speaker 4: Look at that, look at it.
- 30:17Speaker 4: Look at it, it's going.
- 30:17Speaker 1: Oh Now it's like honey roasted peanuts.
- 30:22Speaker 3: What is that 43 Cheval?
- 30:23Speaker 3: What do you mean?
- 30:24Speaker 3: That's liquor 43.
- 30:25Speaker 3: Didn't you see that podcast with Matt Lisen where you put liquor?
- 30:28Speaker 1: 43 in anything and it makes it taste better.
- 30:30Speaker 1: I missed that one.
- 30:31Speaker 1: Oh, you know that one.
- 30:39Speaker 3: That was during my six months of weekend, weekend work.
- 30:47Speaker 1: You mean that was the six months of secret planning your wedding in Colorado with behind our backs?
- 30:53Speaker 4: Really the best drink this is known for is a little deer.
- 30:56Speaker 3: You take this mix it with heavy whipping cream and it makes it Holy shit.
- 31:00Speaker 3: It's been so long since I've had little bears.
- 31:03Speaker 3: You want?
- 31:03Speaker 4: me to have one.
- 31:04Speaker 4: I guess it's heavy whipping cream.
- 31:07Speaker 1: No, I don't Put that shit away.
- 31:11Speaker 3: There you go.
- 31:12Speaker 3: Sherry used to bartend.
- 31:14Speaker 3: Oh, i met her in high school but I hadn't seen her in like 20 something years and all that Almost 25 years and all.
- 31:26Speaker 3: So when I came back to town and all that, and then all of a sudden I show up this little bar and she was bartending.
- 31:35Speaker 3: She's one of her favorite little things with little beer.
- 31:42Speaker 4: They're delicious.
- 31:43Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely So, yeah, always, just okay enough.
- 31:49Speaker 1: Let's get back on the bookers, the Charlie's batch.
- 31:51Speaker 1: Let's have a big beer here, not a little beer.
- 31:55Speaker 1: Sure, that's the right glass for this one.
- 31:59Speaker 4: Here I'm going to go back to the.
- 32:01Speaker 4: There we go.
- 32:01Speaker 4: Hello Charlie, It's got you bourbon boys, It's got some curves.
- 32:07Speaker 4: So I did drink the Charlie's batch before I introduced it to LaCour 43 and I like it a lot.
- 32:15Speaker 4: It's got a little bit of a it's.
- 32:24Speaker 4: The vanilla is definitely prominent.
- 32:25Speaker 4: Yeah, very sweet, very sweet.
- 32:27Speaker 4: You know, for the which I think a lot of the booker stuff, you know everybody says their peanut, peanut, peanut And I'm like, all right, yeah, there's peanut, but I think a lot of it is is vanilla to me.
- 32:41Speaker 4: Almost everyone I drink I get a good amount of vanilla which I like.
- 32:45Speaker 4: Yeah, no-transcript.
- 32:49Speaker 3: I always like each one of them.
- 32:53Speaker 4: Yeah, and they're all different.
- 32:54Speaker 4: That's the thing is like people I feel like, sometimes A little oak.
- 32:59Speaker 3: All of them to me has got just the right amount of oak to it.
- 33:03Speaker 3: Yeah, it's not over oak.
- 33:05Speaker 3: Yeah, not over oak, just a right amount.
- 33:09Speaker 1: Okay.
- 33:10Speaker 3: And just a little bit of leather maybe, but you know, or maybe cigar box on this one Like a sweet cigar.
- 33:20Speaker 1: I always feel that what, however, i drink, bookers, it's the standard for barrel strength.
- 33:27Speaker 1: Okay, so when you're drinking another barrel strength there's sometimes you get that peppery a little bit of nut and you get it on other barrel strengths, especially cigar blends.
- 33:41Speaker 1: On cigar blends you pick up that booker-esque note And I just find that it's like the standard for all barrel strength bourbons.
- 33:49Speaker 1: I mean the fact that you know they sit at 130, i mean the one I got here.
- 33:57Speaker 4: This one's 123, 126.6.
- 33:59Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 34:04Speaker 1: Yeah, this one's 125.5.
- 34:09Speaker 3: And then And this one's a seven years, one month and eight days, And this one's seven years one month and two days that they're really getting into that.
- 34:20Speaker 1: But if you look at this bottle of the apprentice, look at how I almost don't want to open it.
- 34:26Speaker 1: Look at how perfect the bee the-.
- 34:28Speaker 3: Oh, you're going to open it.
- 34:30Speaker 3: You see that You are going to open it right here on this podcast.
- 34:34Speaker 1: So the booker's label is fantastic.
- 34:36Speaker 1: If you go from where it was, it's always had the label on top of the handwritten note that Booker wrote Initially when they were put out.
- 34:46Speaker 1: Booker wrote all the labels by hand in his handwriting.
- 34:50Speaker 1: I mean that only lasted for a while.
- 34:53Speaker 1: Then Fred wrote the note later, when he copied the note from Booker.
- 35:00Speaker 1: And then also on Little Book Fred.
- 35:03Speaker 1: He writes a note too about how much Booker meant to him and what he does with his blend.
- 35:10Speaker 1: But then also it's got this black wax that's on the top.
- 35:15Speaker 1: This time this feels a little matte, this one feels a little shiny off that original.
- 35:20Speaker 1: And then also you're looking at the Jim Beam bee with the ribbon that gets also dipped into the wax.
- 35:29Speaker 1: Unlike Maker's Mark where they don't like the wax to go over certain aspects, this one has the wax going directly over the ribbon.
- 35:38Speaker 1: Then you can even see the label has transferred Now with their each batch's name.
- 35:44Speaker 1: They used to be just numbered.
- 35:45Speaker 1: I don't know how much longer.
- 35:48Speaker 1: When you do four or five batches a year you're stretching.
- 35:52Speaker 1: Really.
- 35:54Speaker 1: After this many years it starts to stretch out who gets what batches.
- 35:58Speaker 1: They might have to have batch too, kind of thing.
- 36:01Speaker 4: And then Do we have a candy batch.
- 36:03Speaker 1: A?
- 36:03Speaker 1: what A candy Candy.
- 36:05Speaker 1: No, i don't think so.
- 36:07Speaker 1: They've had Kentucky Choo.
- 36:09Speaker 1: They've had I mean, they've been really creative and different people.
- 36:13Speaker 1: I really like that.
- 36:14Speaker 1: Now, one of my favorite bookers was-.
- 36:18Speaker 3: They had the Fred's batch, but they hadn't had a They don't have a Freddy batch and they hadn't had a Sandy batch.
- 36:25Speaker 3: Well, the Fred batch I have.
- 36:27Speaker 3: Give it to me by Fred.
- 36:30Speaker 1: Sign by Fred.
- 36:32Speaker 1: It's right, it's right, it's right back there.
- 36:35Speaker 1: It's the best.
- 36:36Speaker 1: It's the best, it's fine, it's fine.
- 36:39Speaker 1: Hey, you know what it is getting?
- 36:41Speaker 1: Oh, you're not-.
- 36:43Speaker 1: That's not I won't open it to keep it away from that.
- 36:48Speaker 4: I will infiltrate your lair Me again, sorry.
- 36:53Speaker 3: It's like a mission to me.
- 36:54Speaker 3: All right, so I'm going to quick-.
- 36:56Speaker 3: Hey, i got a little bit on the Booker's Rare Unfiltered Bourbon.
- 37:02Speaker 3: What did you-?
- 37:03Speaker 3: The Booker's Bourbon is a rare barrel-strength bourbon, bottled, uncut and unfiltered.
- 37:08Speaker 3: But you obviously know a good bit about bourbon because you don't end up here by mistake.
- 37:15Speaker 3: We don't advertise, we don't social media, we just do bourbon.
- 37:20Speaker 3: We focus on the sweet spot, the center of the rackhouse, where the temperature and humidity stars align to create the deepest and most intense flavors.
- 37:32Speaker 3: Once this age to perfection, which always varies, the liquid is bottled, uncut and unfiltered.
- 37:39Speaker 3: We don't add, we don't water down and we don't apologize for it.
- 37:44Speaker 3: For some people it may be too much, but for true bourbon fans it's probably the best ever.
- 37:50Speaker 3: And, fred, make sure they don't mess with my Booker's.
- 37:55Speaker 3: That was Booker's one request to his son at his return.
- 38:02Speaker 1: Yup, there it is.
- 38:02Speaker 1: That's a second time tonight, so we are talking about the Apprent.
- 38:09Speaker 1: So what do you guys think As far as Charlie's batch compared to last year?
- 38:14Speaker 1: do you think it's gone up?
- 38:17Speaker 1: No, another thing is that the original Booker's had corks, and now they've got the fake cork in there too, which is kind of good, because if you keep a batch for 15, 20 years, it's not going to break off.
- 38:34Speaker 3: So you kind of know a little bit about that, don't you Jeff?
- 38:38Speaker 1: Just a little off that first one.
- 38:41Speaker 4: I think to say that one is better than the other is kind of not doing it any justice.
- 38:47Speaker 4: I think that the thing about all the Booker's batches like I've had so many different ones they all have some similarities yes, because the match bill is what it is, but they all are different, and in good ways.
- 39:02Speaker 4: You're going to like a certain profile better than another person.
- 39:06Speaker 4: But for the price point at $89 to $99, depending on where you get it there's always a great bottle that comes in the other boxes, but in people I hear it on social media they're like oh, the box, the box, but it's still cool, it's still neat And the juice is good and it's seven years plus old.
- 39:30Speaker 1: And those boxes are handmade by Charlie.
- 39:34Speaker 1: Oh, really cool.
- 39:35Speaker 1: Yeah, i mean, him and his son still make all the boxes.
- 39:38Speaker 1: I guarantee you they probably made the stands for the mob creak-a-tiger.
- 39:45Speaker 4: So the thing I will say is this I don't know that I've ever had a Booker's that I didn't like.
- 39:51Speaker 1: They're all good in their own way, the batch that I didn't like the most out of all the times was the Boston batch.
- 39:57Speaker 1: The Boston batch, i believe, was in the middle of 2020, during the pandemic, and actually that year, the year before, they had put out five, and they put that Boston's batch out And all of a sudden there was a delay between that and Pigskin, which came out in November And honestly and that was it for the year There was only four, and when I was talking with Fred about that is that he felt they were getting too new.
- 40:32Speaker 1: He was.
- 40:35Speaker 1: The quality of Booker's was being compromised.
- 40:40Speaker 3: I was there And he backed it off.
- 40:42Speaker 1: He backed it off.
- 40:43Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, he said he's backing it off.
- 40:46Speaker 3: He's just like now the company doesn't want to back it off.
- 40:50Speaker 3: They're pulling the barrels.
- 40:51Speaker 3: And he was like they were trying to force them to pull the barrels too soon to make these batches.
- 40:58Speaker 3: And he got to where he actually said look, the quality of what Booker wanted and Booker's bourbon is going down And that's why they stopped it at four that year.
- 41:16Speaker 3: And he refused.
- 41:18Speaker 3: Well, you know, he put it to the board and said look, you know we need to stop it here.
- 41:25Speaker 3: You know, let these barrels age some more at where they're at and all that, and then you know, we'll create some more batches next year.
- 41:34Speaker 3: It is basically what he was saying and telling us And that's where it went.
- 41:41Speaker 4: And I'm so glad he did, But since then most of it's been like really Oh yeah.
- 41:46Speaker 4: And before that yeah.
- 41:48Speaker 2: Kitcha Tick Yeah Yeah.
- 41:49Speaker 1: But that Boston batch actually I remember that sat in the shelves, on the shelf for a good six, eight months before it sold out.
- 41:58Speaker 1: And Booker's has just recently became an allocation because before I would, before last year, sometime last year, before the second batch of last year of 2022, you would have a week to pick up Booker's.
- 42:16Speaker 1: It would hit the shelf, it would sit on the shelf and you'd have a whole week that you could pick it up.
- 42:22Speaker 1: You didn't have to wait in line for it.
- 42:24Speaker 1: Now it's a morning release And I did.
- 42:28Speaker 1: Well, i was lucky They had, there was enough that they were putting out.
- 42:34Speaker 1: I think the one place that I went to that it was no longer there, was released on a Friday And I was there on Sunday and they had 18 cases but they were all gone.
- 42:46Speaker 1: And then I went to a different place that still had a couple of cases left But that showed on the website that it was there.
- 42:53Speaker 1: But it still comes down to with Booker's.
- 42:56Speaker 1: Now People want Booker's.
- 42:59Speaker 1: They know how good it is.
- 42:59Speaker 1: It's in the bourbon.
- 43:01Speaker 1: What would you say?
- 43:04Speaker 1: the bourbon boom group of kind of sewers, of purchasing and getting it.
- 43:10Speaker 1: So you really got to get up.
- 43:12Speaker 1: Stay on top, like the fact that I didn't get Charlie's batch.
- 43:15Speaker 1: You know it's like you can't.
- 43:17Speaker 1: You know you got to work hard to get it, whereas initially, you know it was the first ever expensive bourbon that I ever bought.
- 43:29Speaker 2: And.
- 43:29Speaker 1: I didn't understand Booker's.
- 43:31Speaker 1: This is before I met you know, it's before I met Super Nash.
- 43:36Speaker 1: It was probably yeah, it was two.
- 43:41Speaker 1: I believe Kitchen Table was 2018, correct.
- 43:45Speaker 1: Yes, And it had hit the shelves and I had seen it, but it was, you know, $85.
- 43:52Speaker 1: And I was like that's a lot to spend at the time.
- 43:55Speaker 1: That's a lot to spend on a bourbon When you're just getting into this, the most you've ever spent.
- 44:00Speaker 1: You know, you thought $32 was expensive.
- 44:02Speaker 1: Now you're looking at something at $85.
- 44:04Speaker 1: Well, I didn't pull the trigger when I saw it, So I didn't also know that they were batches and they disappeared.
- 44:12Speaker 1: So I started looking for it again because I wanted Kitchen Table, because I had done some research and Kitchen Table, with Booker around the Kitchen Table, the nose and everything.
- 44:21Speaker 1: I wanted that.
- 44:22Speaker 1: And so I ended up getting it in Wisconsin, And I remember the day that I bought it.
- 44:28Speaker 1: I was able to find it on the shelf.
- 44:30Speaker 1: I got it.
- 44:30Speaker 1: It was not in a box.
- 44:33Speaker 1: They sold it out.
- 44:33Speaker 1: That was a bottle outside the box.
- 44:35Speaker 1: I don't know how that just was it.
- 44:38Speaker 1: It was a little.
- 44:39Speaker 1: It was 79 in Wisconsin because they don't have the taxes of Ohio And then I bought it.
- 44:44Speaker 1: I was so proud I posted it on social media.
- 44:47Speaker 1: Next I did the car post, you know, and everything.
- 44:50Speaker 1: So that really was the first bourbon that was inspiring for me, that I loved, And it was Barrel Strength because I read about You read about shot.
- 44:58Speaker 1: David, No, you read about.
- 45:00Speaker 1: You say car, but it's Yeah, but you read about Barrel Strength And it's still.
- 45:07Speaker 1: At the time it was the only unfiltered, closest thing you could get to drinking.
- 45:14Speaker 1: What the master distillers and the blenders were pulling out of the barrels It was.
- 45:19Speaker 1: Everything else was it would be Barrel Strength, but it was filtered, Or it was Barrel Strength.
- 45:23Speaker 1: This was.
- 45:24Speaker 1: This is unfiltered straight from the barrel.
- 45:26Speaker 1: It's got pieces in it and everything.
- 45:29Speaker 1: So I really wanted it.
- 45:31Speaker 1: So that's what inspired me to do that painting, you know.
- 45:34Speaker 1: And then that led to all this.
- 45:36Speaker 1: Plus it led to a a good long.
- 45:42Speaker 1: Now I think it's a four-year friendship with Sandy, noe and Fred and Freddie and getting down there and having some of the most amazing experiences you know that you can have And you know, just think what Carl you never would have had his shirtless body signed or you know stuff like that.
- 46:02Speaker 1: I mean, there's just so many things and Sandy has been such a good friend.
- 46:06Speaker 1: I haven't been, we haven't been down there to see her and I'm actually the one thing left.
- 46:14Speaker 3: We miss you, Sandy.
- 46:15Speaker 1: Yes, cheers, sandy.
- 46:16Speaker 1: The one thing left is where I'm planning a weekend I'll let you guys know to get to, to get to Barre's town and do see Sandy, do the vacation thing with the beam aspect up front and center and then, kind of, you know, then see Randy and Stacy and everything before Kentucky Bourbon Festival.
- 46:38Speaker 1: I want to do that But I definitely am missing Sandy.
- 46:40Speaker 1: I talked to her from time to time and you know some amazing things just keep happening at that distillery And I really think we should concentrate, when we go to Kentucky Bourbon Festival this year, to have Fred and Freddie and Sandy on the podcast for the festival.
- 46:57Speaker 1: That's the ones that we should really contact.
- 47:00Speaker 1: You know, we haven't Absolutely.
- 47:01Speaker 1: We've had Sandy on the podcast but not Fred or Freddie directly.
- 47:06Speaker 1: So that's something I want to do, but all right, so I'll quickly get into this one.
- 47:13Speaker 1: I got a screen share.
- 47:15Speaker 1: Let's see if I can do it.
- 47:17Speaker 1: It's right here, come on, all right.
- 47:23Speaker 1: So this is the apprentice batch.
- 47:24Speaker 1: You guys can see that.
- 47:27Speaker 3: Yes, we can.
- 47:28Speaker 1: All right.
- 47:28Speaker 1: This batch is made up of barrels that were aged in six different warehouses.
- 47:32Speaker 1: The breakdown of the barrel storage for Booker's apprentice batches is followed 7%, 7th floor, 9-story warehouse 8,.
- 47:40Speaker 1: 9%, 4th floor 7-story warehouse W, 11%.
- 47:44Speaker 1: 4th floor 7-story warehouse 1, 18%.
- 47:49Speaker 1: 4th floor 7-story warehouse O, 19,.
- 47:54Speaker 1: 4th floor of 9-story, warehouse G and 36% came from the 4th floor of 7-story warehouse C, not as much warehouse Z in this one.
- 48:04Speaker 1: This one is 125.5 proof, 7 years, 1 month, 2 days.
- 48:09Speaker 1: It is called the apprentice batch.
- 48:12Speaker 1: The second release of Booker's Bourbon 23 collection is Booker's batch 2302, apprentice batch.
- 48:19Speaker 1: This batch pays homage to early days of my dad.
- 48:23Speaker 1: Booker knows career Far before.
- 48:25Speaker 1: He was the sixth generation master distiller when he first learned the art of making bourbon under the guidance of his cousin Carl Beam.
- 48:32Speaker 1: When Booker started working at the Jim Beam Distillery in Clermont in 1952, carl became like a mentor to him.
- 48:39Speaker 1: Back then they didn't have official titles like master distiller, but everyone knew Carl was in charge.
- 48:45Speaker 1: He didn't put it up with any foolishness and made sure Booker was set straight.
- 48:50Speaker 1: But even if Booker did mess around sometimes he was a fast learner and was ready to be put to work and that quickly got him Carl's approval.
- 49:00Speaker 1: Two years after Booker started, we purchased a distillery in Boston, Kentucky, to increase our production capabilities.
- 49:06Speaker 1: Carl and Booker worked closely together to get it up and running and eventually Carl handed the reins over to Booker.
- 49:12Speaker 1: This is where he was able to experiment and master the bourbon making processes and later on the location was renamed the Booker No Distillery.
- 49:22Speaker 1: Carl showed Booker the ropes at the distillery, but from there his approach was sink or swim and it was just the push Booker needed.
- 49:31Speaker 1: His apprenticeship under Carl helped him become the master distiller and legendary innovator.
- 49:37Speaker 1: We all remember him as today Fred No Beam Phant, 7th generation master distiller.
- 49:44Speaker 1: There you go.
- 49:45Speaker 1: That's that one.
- 49:46Speaker 1: It's interesting where they come from and what floors.
- 49:49Speaker 1: Right Now, this one.
- 49:52Speaker 1: I love the nose because it's it's it's a brown sugar, it's toasted brown sugar.
- 49:59Speaker 1: On this one.
- 50:01Speaker 1: It's really sweet.
- 50:03Speaker 1: It's probably one of the better.
- 50:05Speaker 1: Nose is not a lot of ethanol and just a toasted brown sugar.
- 50:09Speaker 1: Wow, and there was a little vanilla right there.
- 50:13Speaker 1: All right, let's see what it tastes like.
- 50:20Speaker 4: Now, she didn't get this bottle yet, have you No?
- 50:25Speaker 1: I haven't seen it yet.
- 50:27Speaker 3: That's amazing, it's really Yeah, like I said, I just got lucky to get this one just Friday.
- 50:37Speaker 1: I'm telling you honestly, it's the sweetest bookers on the front palette I've ever tasted.
- 50:42Speaker 1: It hits you and it's sugar, like a sugar cookie.
- 50:50Speaker 3: You do know that I've got every bookers batched all the way back to 2015.
- 51:00Speaker 4: Yeah, I remember you having way more than any human being needed to have.
- 51:08Speaker 3: But that's the cool thing It's not just for me to sit there and drink.
- 51:15Speaker 3: No, you share them like oh my God, there's yeah, yeah, yes this is that's what it's all about For me is, anytime anybody ever wants something I have, they're more than welcome to get a sample.
- 51:31Speaker 3: You can even ship to them or, you know, if they come into my house, they're more than welcome to drink anything that's on my shelf, i mean all the way to the pappy to the William LaRue Weller.
- 51:45Speaker 3: You know, anything that I got Because that's what it's all about to me is sharing, is caring, and you know, tasting bourbon and just you know, just putting it out there.
- 51:59Speaker 3: You know people don't always have access and so I do and I get hold of it.
- 52:10Speaker 3: Like about half of it for me is sharing it and then seeing the look on their faces after they taste it.
- 52:18Speaker 1: According to, like the OHLQ website, half of Ohio can't get bourbon and they get there, so we'll just send them to we'll just tell them to send them the NAS.
- 52:29Speaker 3: Tomorrow morning I'm going to have people knocking on my door.
- 52:32Speaker 3: We saw your podcast.
- 52:38Speaker 4: They won't be sitting in chairs in your front yard.
- 52:41Speaker 1: Well, there will be the NAS way, the NAS line.
- 52:44Speaker 3: Then I'm going to do like heaven.
- 52:46Speaker 3: You know, i'm going to come out at nine o'clock and I'm going to start giving out tickets.
- 52:50Speaker 3: You know why?
- 52:53Speaker 4: Nash Nash, you said something there that is good to touch on And that is what bourbon really does for all of us, and that's bring us together, friendships, all that stuff.
- 53:04Speaker 4: A friend of mine just this last week ago is getting ready to be.
- 53:10Speaker 4: He goes on a mission over to Hawaii where he'll be stationed for about six months, and so he came over with some other friends and and I'm like you know what we're going to crack a special bottle and just just to do that for you, and so we can remember this time.
- 53:27Speaker 4: And so I had a bottle of William heaven Hill 15, the bottle that we drank, that you bought.
- 53:33Speaker 4: You remember that, yes, that bottle is absolutely delicious, and so we were.
- 53:40Speaker 4: We've cracked it and drank it.
- 53:42Speaker 4: And again, this is somebody who doesn't drink a ton of bourbon, so he has no idea of the values of these things, he just enjoys that.
- 53:49Speaker 4: But he found out how much it was, and then he was like what?
- 53:53Speaker 4: We can't do this?
- 53:55Speaker 4: What are you doing?
- 53:55Speaker 4: And I'm like this is what we're doing.
- 53:57Speaker 4: This is why it's here.
- 53:59Speaker 4: So, exactly, definitely.
- 54:03Speaker 4: I hope people understand that.
- 54:03Speaker 4: Enjoy it with your friends and family and make make memories with it.
- 54:08Speaker 4: Don't collect it just to collect it.
- 54:12Speaker 3: Yeah, absolutely, you hit right the nail on the head right there.
- 54:15Speaker 3: That's what it's for, right there to me, and oh my gosh, the name of the right now.
- 54:30Speaker 3: But but that's what it's about, you know, just making memories and enjoying that special poor.
- 54:37Speaker 3: You don't have to save it because You know, you say it, you might not be here to open it up.
- 54:47Speaker 4: No, i think that's when you watch the The show with Freddie At Buffalo Trace and he talks about it Yeah he's the one that inspired me to do what I do.
- 55:00Speaker 4: If you haven't watched the movie neat and which you can watch it I think on fooby or something like that, it's one of those Netflix has.
- 55:08Speaker 1: It's on Netflix.
- 55:09Speaker 4: Neat, neat is on Netflix Okay but watch that But yeah, i'm gonna tell you what when you watch that show and at the end of it and Freddie's talking about how You know things and I'm not gonna spoil it for those who haven't watched it But when you watch that, you will have a new appreciation for opening every bottle you have.
- 55:27Speaker 4: I don't care if you paid $50 for it or $500.
- 55:31Speaker 4: Find a reason to enjoy it with people, to create memories.
- 55:36Speaker 4: That's what it's about.
- 55:37Speaker 1: Well, that's, that's what.
- 55:37Speaker 1: That's just what bourbon is just straight up about.
- 55:40Speaker 1: It's about sharing something special with other people.
- 55:43Speaker 1: And then, when you get these unique bottles and you share them on life moments or Good times, it makes those times even better because you're sipping on it.
- 55:54Speaker 1: You're not getting shit-faced drunk, but you're.
- 55:56Speaker 1: You're sipping on it, enjoying it, relaxing, partying, whatever and that's what it's all about.
- 56:04Speaker 3: So, all right well, That's exactly what Changed my whole world and thinking about bourbon and whiskey Years ago was You can sip and taste and enjoy it and pull out all these different flavors.
- 56:24Speaker 3: You don't have to get drunk and pound shots back, you know, like you did in the young days.
- 56:30Speaker 3: No, you don't.
- 56:31Speaker 3: You don't have to get get drunk to enjoy it.
- 56:33Speaker 3: No it tastes of it was opening up bottles, like I did with you, jeff.
- 56:41Speaker 3: Yeah, for sure That's, that's what brought us together.
- 56:45Speaker 1: That's well how friendships are formed.
- 56:47Speaker 3: Enjoying enjoying times.
- 56:49Speaker 1: And I mean, and we just keep going out and having these experiences based off freaking bourbon, it don't matter, it's made everywhere in the United States.
- 56:59Speaker 3: There's a place I mean few was cool as shit hanging out with Susan and Paul and, and I'm Martin and you guys, i mean we had a great time, wouldn't you say see see, like I say, ever since I've met you, like I say That's, we have a yes, yes exactly, and in these time I, i try, like I say, to bring a bottle, you know, to open up that, you know, because it's just that's what it's about.
- 57:28Speaker 3: Well, open up and sure.
- 57:30Speaker 3: Then then then we plan this new experience and then, wow, it turns into something more.
- 57:40Speaker 2: Then we play this great weekend.
- 57:43Speaker 1: This we play this great weekend, nash, we play this great weekend and then you go off and to get married, to skip it.

- 59:34Speaker 1: I knew that was your bottle.
- 59:35Speaker 1: You've been saving that.

- 1:02:45Speaker 4: But do you remember I called you from.
- 1:02:47Speaker 3: North Carolina And I'm like, hey, i just picked it up and you're like oh, it's alright, i'll find it, i'll get it.

- 1:03:04Speaker 4: Well, i was skipped over, potentially no, not at all.
- 1:03:08Speaker 1: Now, that's the other thing I want to talk about is the last thing is that you don't get all the bottles.
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: It's not how it works.
- 1:03:15Speaker 1: Now I could decide I wanted in my collection and have to pay a little bit more, or Find somebody out there anybody out there with an extra bottle, and you will.
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: You want to You know, get it to tiny.
- 1:03:29Speaker 4: I'm right here, i'm right here, So please, you know, i can use it for bait.

- 1:04:00Speaker 3: Totally totally.
- 1:04:03Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:04:07Speaker 3: Raffles that I've ever seen, you know 250 bottles and she raffled them off and Whenever you come across raffles and things like that, you know, just be aware and check out when you get involved in things like that.
- 1:04:24Speaker 3: It's all I got.
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: Well, but we've.
- 1:04:26Speaker 1: But with Christy I had met her, but that's the thing she was getting.
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: She's getting a lot of flak for Was this real?
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: you know, is she scamming people?
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: What are you doing?
- 1:04:38Speaker 1: And I was able to.
- 1:04:40Speaker 1: I had met her and know her and knew she was doing this for a good cause.
- 1:04:44Speaker 1: And she Delivered and she's gonna be doing another one.
- 1:04:46Speaker 1: I don't think it's gonna be 250 bottle but it might be 2530 bottles, so look for that.
- 1:04:52Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what I was saying, you know it's a good cause.
- 1:04:56Speaker 3: Like I say, she, she did it and it was utmost, 100% legitimate and, and I mean, one of the best ones that I've ever seen.
- 1:05:07Speaker 3: And I'm surprised that I didn't even get into it.
- 1:05:10Speaker 3: But you know that's another story.
- 1:05:14Speaker 3: But, like I say, if you do Be a part of something like that, just check out what you're getting into and and just be safe.
- 1:05:25Speaker 1: Yeah, just make sure the charity is what the legit and the open bees is a legitimate charity helping people That can't read, read.
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: So, um, that brings us to tomorrow night's podcast, ct.

- 1:05:47Speaker 4: So in Ohio Probably haven't seen a lot of backbone stuff, but I am gonna tell you that tomorrow night You'll want to be a part of this podcast.
- 1:05:58Speaker 4: The Nolan with with Nolan has got some amazing stuff going on at backbone.
- 1:06:04Speaker 4: The bottle Jeff has the bottle I have, we have another one.
- 1:06:07Speaker 4: They are doing some amazing stuff.
- 1:06:11Speaker 4: I did a pic with a, with a group out of Columbus, and we drank from 10 to 12 bottles That they, the barrels that they had brought to do a pic and I'm not kidding you, at least 90% of them were just like wow, these all could be just killers And they are doing some great stuff.
- 1:06:36Speaker 4: I know it's not available right in our backyard, but it's not that far down the road or it's available online.
- 1:06:41Speaker 4: But yeah, it's gonna be a great podcast, yep so look forward to that.
- 1:06:47Speaker 4: And no one has a way cooler voice than I do.
- 1:06:49Speaker 4: Well, your accent is awesome.
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: She doesn't have a nasally irritating voice.
- 1:06:57Speaker 4: No it's not like yours, Jeff.
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: You have a good voice CT.
- 1:07:04Speaker 4: Listen, black beard, i do So.
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: I do have one question, as Randy-.
- 1:07:15Speaker 4: Back to you tomorrow, that's gonna be fun, but I do have a question for both of you, because you guys, we were all together when we last went to Jim Beam, do you remember?
- 1:07:24Speaker 4: Yeah, and we picked up a bottle and either of you drank that bottle.
- 1:07:28Speaker 4: Hell no.
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: Linneus.
- 1:07:30Speaker 1: Yeah, sorry.
- 1:07:33Speaker 3: Oh, no, no.
- 1:07:33Speaker 1: I'm saving that for Fred to sign I'm saving it.
- 1:07:40Speaker 3: I'm gonna get my open bottle off the shelf.
- 1:07:43Speaker 1: I know he has backbone, but does he have a broke?
- 1:07:45Speaker 1: back version No.
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: I hope not.
- 1:07:49Speaker 3: I don't have a broke back version.
- 1:07:52Speaker 3: I've never even seen that movie.
- 1:07:54Speaker 4: No, there was no reason to see it, Nash.
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: Oh, you didn't.
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: I didn't see that either.
- 1:08:02Speaker 3: I know he's the only one that made reference to it.
- 1:08:07Speaker 1: Only because when I was telling Nash about it, I referred to it instead of backbone, as broke back whiskey.
- 1:08:14Speaker 1: He's like what?
- 1:08:16Speaker 4: Don't do that tomorrow, because, yeah, that's not gonna work.
- 1:08:20Speaker 3: That won't work.
- 1:08:21Speaker 1: That's just like oh, that would be like turning this into chicken cock.
- 1:08:29Speaker 4: So back to the lineage.
- 1:08:31Speaker 4: So yeah, one of these, so you're saving yours.
- 1:08:33Speaker 4: I haven't opened mine yet.
- 1:08:34Speaker 4: I haven't found the right thing.
- 1:08:37Speaker 1: I think, mine.
- 1:08:38Speaker 3: You guys are waiting for me to send samples of mine up there, right?
- 1:08:42Speaker 1: Yeah, send the samples up.
- 1:08:43Speaker 1: Nash, we gotta taste all from the same bottle.
- 1:08:46Speaker 1: We can't mix bottles.
- 1:08:48Speaker 1: Why It came from the same barrel, it doesn't matter, it's still they're different.
- 1:08:55Speaker 1: I think, wait, i'm trying to think, if you can wait, i might have to move this.
- 1:09:00Speaker 1: I think There's the problem.
- 1:09:02Speaker 1: Hey look, look, look in the corner right there.
- 1:09:05Speaker 1: You can see it.
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: There it is.
- 1:09:06Speaker 1: See it right there.
- 1:09:08Speaker 4: The difference.
- 1:09:08Speaker 4: I'm gonna just tell you mine has an unfair advantage, because I have mine sitting on a kayak in the middle of the lake, down the road.
- 1:09:16Speaker 4: So it's actually aging in the bottle on a kayak.
- 1:09:18Speaker 4: Oh, it is.
- 1:09:20Speaker 4: Yeah, it's the Jim Bean kayak edition.
- 1:09:25Speaker 1: So All right, everybody.
- 1:09:28Speaker 1: I think that does it for Booker's tonight.
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: I mean, we should use voyage, yeah, but CT style.
- 1:09:41Speaker 4: CT river river river River river river Excursion.
- 1:09:44Speaker 4: Oh, that's gonna be my new.
- 1:09:47Speaker 1: He said a kayak, but we know that he's got a little thing inside his, in the buoy of the pontoon boat, and he just screws off the cap on the end, drops the bottle in and then screws it back on on the pontoon boat.
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: So he's got bottles in there.
- 1:10:03Speaker 4: Hey, we have to be careful.
- 1:10:04Speaker 4: I give that because I don't I do not take bourbon on my boat.
- 1:10:09Speaker 4: Okay, You don't.
- 1:10:12Speaker 1: You put it in the pontoon We take moonshine Ah.

- 1:10:34Speaker 1: I still get.
- 1:10:35Speaker 1: I'm still getting comments on it.
- 1:10:37Speaker 1: That one's probably one of the better ones that I didn't share out, although Nash is I should have shared it out.
- 1:10:44Speaker 3: Maybe I could have got my 10,000th follower.
- 1:10:47Speaker 3: Oh boy, how many followers you have now Over 5,000.
