- 0:23Now let's get into today's topic.
- 0:27All right, yes, thanks for having me.
- 0:28Good morning, everybody. So it's a pleasure to be here
- 0:36this morning and and share what now that I'm older, the
- 0:41knowledge and experience that I've accumulated through the
- 0:44years. And one of them is being fast.
- 0:47I've been called, I have a twin sister.
- 0:49So we've been called the fast twins since I was a little girl
- 0:53beating the boys in the streets. And here I am today now as a
- 0:57coach and, and just here to just share some of the secrets.
- 1:02And there may not be secrets for you.
- 1:04You may already know the secrets, but I just want you to
- 1:07know this is a open forum. So if you have questions along
- 1:10the way, like please ask them if it's something that you would
- 1:15love to challenge, you know, something on challenge it, you
- 1:19know, because maybe I can learn something too.
- 1:22But I just want you to know that again, this is from my
- 1:25experience. I say the MF method because I'm
- 1:28Michelle Freeman and it's the method that has worked for me.
- 1:33And I say that because it's four ways that I have broken down the
- 1:39four components that I have really broken down for myself to
- 1:42articulate how to really unlock feed.
- 1:49So why listen to this conversation?
- 1:51One, because yes, I'm an Olympic athlete and I'm an Olympic
- 1:54coach. So I know a little something
- 1:57about how to get faster. I took a four year break from
- 2:05running. I ran, I'm from Maryland, I've
- 2:09played in all different sports. I didn't specialize till high
- 2:11school. So soccer, basketball, cheer,
- 2:16whatever it was, dance. My mom allowed me to do it all,
- 2:20which was great for me at a young age.
- 2:23And it was just like I said on the court, on the field, we were
- 2:26the fast twins. So by the time we got to high
- 2:28school, track coach said you got to run and here we were.
- 2:32From there we started to understand how fast we really
- 2:34were. We started winning state
- 2:36championships, breaking state records and so we were able to
- 2:40go to the University of South Carolina on 4 scholarships, both
- 2:43of us together and run under the tutelage of Coach Fry.
- 2:47We were his first recruiting class back in 1998.
- 2:52So if anybody can guess my age. And from there we brought the
- 2:57first national championship in any sport to the university.
- 3:01That was in 2002. I was, I had a hamstring injury
- 3:06and I didn't want to leave school.
- 3:09So I decided to go to Graduate School instead of thinking that
- 3:12I was going to go to the Olympic team in 2004.
- 3:15So those first two years I went to Graduate School and then I
- 3:18worked in New York City for two years.
- 3:20So four years of no training, just working, going to happy
- 3:28hour and doing all the New York City 25 year old day-to-day
- 3:35life, right? Nine months after quitting my
- 3:39job, I was on the world Championship team.
- 3:42I finished 9th in the world and 100 meters in Osaka.
- 3:45I didn't know where I was. I was lined up next to Merlin
- 3:48Adi and Veronica Campbell and nine months before that I was in
- 3:54the cubicle. A year after that, I made the
- 3:58Olympic team for the 4 by 100m relays.
- 4:03How did that happen? How did you get someone with a
- 4:06four year break to have elite level speed that quickly?
- 4:10We'll talk about it. We applied Sprint science, not
- 4:14theory. I was a smart young whipper
- 4:17snacker. So if my coach now told me the
- 4:19science, the physics, what I needed to do, then it made sense
- 4:25and I was mature enough to understand it.
- 4:29In college. I was just in the shape of my
- 4:31life. We were just running very, very
- 4:34hard workouts. So I was in shape, peak shape.
- 4:40When I became an elite athlete, I was in peak shape, but I was
- 4:43smart and I was executing the science of the sport.
- 4:48So we're going to talk about that.
- 4:51And the last thing why listen is because I know it works because
- 4:54it works for me. And then I still do it for it to
- 4:56work for others. So the risk, like I said, who
- 5:04was going to quit their job and say, hey mom, I'm going to make
- 5:08this Olympic team in two years. Hey, I know it's been 4 years,
- 5:11but don't worry, I got it right. You have to really have the
- 5:15mindset because that was the other big difference between
- 5:20being a collegiate athlete and an elite athlete was the
- 5:23mindset. So that's why at the first slide
- 5:25you saw speed, you saw power, you saw mindset.
- 5:27So as coaches, the mindset is a critical component, especially a
- 5:31sprinter, like when a sprinter walks in a room, you need to
- 5:34command the space. You need to have the mindset
- 5:36from the very first movement in the warm up with the aggressive
- 5:40task that you are about to ask your mind and body to do.
- 5:45My mindset was different. Like I said, I was more mature.
- 5:49I actually had more faith. I believed I could do anything.
- 5:53And so that superwoman mentality is going to be a critical
- 5:56component that we also discussed as four years away from
- 6:00collegiate sprinting. My PR was 11/5.
- 6:04I ran 11/5 at the University of South Carolina and I ran 23
- 6:07five. So you have a sense of where I'm
- 6:10coming from now. Don't quit your job if you run a
- 6:1312 twos, that's a little different 11/5, you know, isn't
- 6:19the fastest collegian. I was all American.
- 6:21I was getting, you know, top five in the FCCI wasn't making
- 6:24top eight in the country At my events.
- 6:27I had a sense that I was a competitive top athlete in the
- 6:30country. Still 11523 five, you know, OK,
- 6:37My nervous system was detrained my fit by my I was physically
- 6:42deconditioned in my I had to have an identity reset again.
- 6:48I'm not thinking athlete, I'm thinking New York City account
- 6:51executive. So high risk, right?
- 6:56High risk. What high reward?
- 6:58So what was the difference? Like I said, nine months later,
- 7:04that was me. I went from deconditioned
- 7:07physically, mentally to making the world championship team and
- 7:12my body changed to look like that.
- 7:15And so we're going to talk about what I did from a day-to-day.
- 7:18So the risk was high, but the reward was high, like I said.
- 7:21So again, talk about speed is trained.
- 7:24Speed is system dependent. So what does the system look
- 7:27like? The MF method for me, for you,
- 7:29but what does your system look like?
- 7:32Speed is a byproduct of alignment.
- 7:34So let's talk about what the components that need to be
- 7:37aligned are. So you have posture.
- 7:40We're going to talk about posture.
- 7:41So strength, stability, power, one component, right?
- 7:46Then we go to range of motion. What is that full range of
- 7:49motion for us to have in our movements to generate force?
- 7:56Third, our Sprint mechanics and skill.
- 7:58Do they understand the movement? They have to understand the
- 8:03movement. OK, Make sure they understand
- 8:06the movement. We're going to talk about that
- 8:08recovery and energy system training, making sure as coaches
- 8:14we understand the demands of the task of our training.
- 8:18If it's acceleration, Max velocity, that's Max intensity,
- 8:22what does that recovery require for them to hit that again?
- 8:25So making sure that our system is programmed in the way that we
- 8:29are maximizing output for our athletes on the recovery side,
- 8:34just making sure that we understand intentional fueling,
- 8:41going back to the energy systems.
- 8:43If carbs are fueling our anaerobic system, are we making
- 8:46sure that they're showing up to practice carved up, you know,
- 8:50having those conversations, making sure they understand the
- 8:53energy systems and it doesn't have to be all techie, but they
- 8:56need to understand the fueling of the energy systems based on
- 9:00the outcomes that you were trying to get them to achieve.
- 9:03So they can be very intentional on how they're showing up to
- 9:06practice. And then the consistent habits.
- 9:10I mean, that's just something we got to talk about as coaches,
- 9:12you know, with what they're doing an outside of practice,
- 9:16outside of recovery time. But you know, the digital
- 9:20distraction is here in our age. So we got to talk about the
- 9:23fleet, you got to talk about, you know, getting off the phones
- 9:27and the habits and the so we got to talk about it.
- 9:29So it's just those things, the habits that this system is going
- 9:34to have to make sure that you are following in every area.
- 9:39So for me, like I said, the four pillars for the system we're
- 9:42going to talk about today, range of motion, enhancing the
- 9:45mobility and flexibility to unlock all potential.
- 9:50If you do not correct the movement based on them achieving
- 9:54full range of motion, then you're cutting off their ability
- 9:58to execute. OK.
- 10:00So we're going to talk about the importance of that posture.
- 10:06If their body is not in the correct posture and you don't
- 10:09correct it, then they're not achieving the full range of
- 10:12motion, they're not achieving the full force application, then
- 10:15you're cutting off the full potential of that speed, OK?
- 10:21And like I said, mechanics, do they understand the movement?
- 10:26Do they understand the movement? Do they understand?
- 10:28Are they doing the movement or the conditioning?
- 10:33Just understanding the energy system.
- 10:35So like I've repeated myself, but I want you to understand
- 10:37these are the four areas that I break down the learnings for the
- 10:43athletes that I work with. OK, so first posture hips.
- 10:49So everybody stands up real quick.
- 10:50Everybody stands up where you are.
- 10:52I know you didn't think it was a I'm involved situation.
- 10:55All right, all right. So I want you to put your feet
- 10:59shoulder width apart, OK? And you're going up to your
- 11:03joint, line your knees and your hips.
- 11:05So put your hand on your hips. And right now you see my hips
- 11:08are just, you know, can you see what direction my hips are in?
- 11:11Anybody guess back? Thank you.
- 11:13All right, so in order for me to correct that movement, all I
- 11:16have to do is just squeeze the glutes and bring my hips
- 11:18underneath me, Right. So right, there's everyone's
- 11:20doing that. Now hit your bellies.
- 11:23Do you feel it's rigid? Yes.
- 11:26Now, two things from here. If I'm here.
- 11:30Oh, it's rigid. Don't worry.
- 11:33It's rigid. It's under there.
- 11:36It's under there. All right, so look, if I'm like
- 11:39this and I told somebody to do that and they look like this,
- 11:42what's the correction? And I'm just saying what's my
- 11:45correction? Like what am I doing?
- 11:46I got my I squeezed my butt cheeks.
- 11:48My hips are under stacked up. But what's what's going on?
- 11:52You got leaning back, right? So remember the correction here
- 11:56is only at the hip line squeezing the glutes here.
- 11:59Shoulders are always going to be in front of the hips.
- 12:02OK, Right. There you go, Mike.
- 12:04Yes, I saw the hinge. All right, So look, this is the
- 12:08posture. So come forward some, OK, Now
- 12:11squeeze yours. Now I want.
- 12:12I want to come here. Come in the front.
- 12:13Yeah, we want to see. Yeah.
- 12:15All right. All right.
- 12:17So good. I'm a given the correction.
- 12:18Come up. All right, Squeeze your glutes.
- 12:20All right, What's his correction for his posture?
- 12:23Get him forward. All right, I'm touching you.
- 12:25All right, So here. So come back a little.
- 12:28Come right there. Good.
- 12:29Right there. Now, Bridget, you breathe.
- 12:32All right, work on this. You want them moving from this
- 12:40posture in the weight room, on the track, in the warm up.
- 12:44Everything all right? Thank you.
- 12:45All right, You sit down for a second.
- 12:49If you don't get them in that position, then right there it's
- 12:55going to cut off their ability to be as fast as possible.
- 12:58OK, So what are you doing to sustain that position?
- 13:01So you doing we talked about it, ribs, cage stacked over pelvis.
- 13:04Like I just said, it's a stacking.
- 13:06So again, this isn't stacking. Stack, stack, stack here.
- 13:09OK, head find you got what you want it neutral.
- 13:14OK, you want it neutral. Eyes are forward.
- 13:16That's always a cue that I give. If people like saying like chin
- 13:19down to the eyes forward, they need to be looking forward,
- 13:23down, down the track, front side dominance, meaning that here
- 13:27again, you're going to get this a lot at the high school level a
- 13:31lot. Correct it, don't let it go.
- 13:34And the biggest thing today you're going to leave with is
- 13:36you just make the correction every single time, like 'cause
- 13:39they're going to be wrong a lot. It's OK to say it over and over
- 13:44and over every single time, OK? And like I said, it ensures full
- 13:48range of motion. So how should determine sports
- 13:51direction? We are teaching them how to
- 13:54apply for this direction. OK.
- 13:59It's going to increase range of motion, improve stability.
- 14:01All of The thing is going to come from here.
- 14:03Poor posture breaking. OK, remember, breaking means
- 14:08you're going to land too far in front.
- 14:10You're not going forward until your hips get to where that foot
- 14:13is. That's time.
- 14:14That space between the hip and the foot, that's time.
- 14:17So you're trying to take that away, Get your body here so you
- 14:20can let him boom and keep going forward.
- 14:23OK, Trying to eliminate breaking.
- 14:27That goes to what I said about free speed.
- 14:29You don't have this time right here to do anything.
- 14:31You can just keep moving, keep moving, keep moving.
- 14:35And again, every drill you do, every movement you do is either
- 14:39going to reinforce it or it's going to destroy it.
- 14:42It's no neutrality in this. So it is very, very, very
- 14:46critical that you correct your posture every single time.
- 14:49We'll talk about how to work on your posture more.
- 14:53The dynamic warm up. I just, you know, got a lot of
- 14:56stuff on here, but you can take pictures.
- 14:59But on a dynamic warm up, like I said, when you come here, you
- 15:02have to make sure the warm up routine is very just intentional
- 15:07about waking up the nervous system.
- 15:09It mimic the movement of the task and that you gradually ease
- 15:15into the physical demands of the workout.
- 15:18By the time you do your last build up, whatever energy system
- 15:23that you were training and developing on that day, you
- 15:26should be ready by the time that last build up.
- 15:28That last build up is at the same intensity that the workout
- 15:33intensity requires. If they are not ready to do
- 15:38Sprint work or whatever the demand of the of the workout is
- 15:41at the end of the warm up, then you have wasted your time.
- 15:46Require them to come out ready from the very beginning.
- 15:48So I do not say jog side that we do not jog as sprinters, OK?
- 15:53The very first thing we do is technical runs, shuffles, things
- 15:56like that. On a technical runs, you know,
- 15:59we we walk the curves, run the straights 3 laps, you know,
- 16:03something like that. You just want to make sure
- 16:07they're working on posture and front side mechanics at the from
- 16:11the very beginning. OK, so even on the technical
- 16:15run, it's slow, but it's still cycling.
- 16:18You're going here, you're still working on that on your very
- 16:22first thing that you do no jobs. Technical runs.
- 16:26Another good thing to do, like if you're in a weight room first
- 16:29or if you just are working on, again, posture things, jump
- 16:34rope, Pogo, jump ropes. Again, look at my feet when I
- 16:39land, All right? When I land and my toes are
- 16:42down, I spend more time on the ground.
- 16:45OK, If I come here, I'm off the ground.
- 16:49I'm off the ground. So you have to strengthen their
- 16:52ankles, their tendons in their feet all the time to get that
- 16:58reciprocation of energy right back off the ground.
- 17:02Pogo jump ropes are an excellent way to work on that.
- 17:06Sneak in jump ropes, three sets of 103 sets of 50, just warming
- 17:11them up. Push, push, push.
- 17:13You want to remove the the use of the the knee and the and the
- 17:17whole thigh to get them off the ground.
- 17:20You want to strengthen their feet and their ankles to push
- 17:23away from the ground. So when you think about push,
- 17:28push, push and athletes are like what?
- 17:30Push, push, I'm pushing. What is push for them?
- 17:34Push is pushing away from the ground.
- 17:38So you have to train that skill. Train the push away from the
- 17:42ground instead of here. Toes are landing, I'm low time
- 17:47on the ground. Push away, push away, push away.
- 17:50That is that cue that helps them understand what pushing is.
- 17:53You are pushing away from the ground to project you forward.
- 17:59OK? That is what you are teaching
- 18:01them and it's something like a Pogo jump rope dynamic
- 18:04stretches. Even on your stretches, when you
- 18:07walk here, push up, push down. You're still training the mimic.
- 18:14OK? So again, don't let them come do
- 18:16this walk. They come here.
- 18:19All right, What's next? They come here.
- 18:22You know, you have to make sure they understand the accuracy of
- 18:25what they're doing. OK, So starting with the
- 18:29activation posture. Activation, get the room in the
- 18:33right position. Bird dogs, glute bridges,
- 18:37abductors, SAP planks, fire hydrants.
- 18:40Activate the glutes, posterior chain.
- 18:42And it always takes the extra 5 minutes.
- 18:45You're like, we only got this much time.
- 18:48Get them before that when they these are the things you need to
- 18:50do by the time we warm up. So they they come, they talk,
- 18:54but give them an assignment. Come talk, do here, come talk
- 18:59here. You know, give them things to
- 19:01get them ready. All right, again, push up, boom,
- 19:10up, boom. I'm still landing on the balls
- 19:13on my feet. I'm still pushing up.
- 19:14I'm still pushing the direction down.
- 19:16You're teaching those things in the warm up every single
- 19:20opportunity you get. OK, drills.
- 19:25Drills is all about coordination and timing and rhythm.
- 19:29OK, Coordination, timing and rhythm.
- 19:32Keep that cadence doing your drills.
- 19:36It should be moving boom, boom, boom, boom.
- 19:38Teaching them cadence, rhythm, doing the drills A skips.
- 19:44Anybody want to demonstrate who got a good a skip?
- 19:46Let's see. Let's see who got a good a skip.
- 19:49OK, come on. OK, let's see it Now.
- 19:52I'm not going to say it's not great if it.
- 19:54I'm just going to see if there's any opportunity.
- 19:57OK. All right, All right.
- 20:02We have some great things there. All right, do it again please.
- 20:08All right, a couple of things. Not, not terrible, not terrible
- 20:12at all. Not.
- 20:14I'll give her eight out of 10. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 20:18The opportunity there is just timing.
- 20:21All right, So look with she has the movement, the movement boom,
- 20:25boom, boom, boom, hip and hinging from the hip, right, the
- 20:28timing of it. Remember the arms and the legs.
- 20:32You want to take full advantage of applying force down and you
- 20:36want to use your arms and your lower body to help you do that,
- 20:39your upper body and your lower body.
- 20:41So being intentional with your arms a little bit more so that
- 20:45it's timed for the direction of the force when it hits down at
- 20:49the ground, it has your upper body and your lower body helping
- 20:52you go down, right. So here, boom.
- 20:57You see how I'm sweeping my arms more aggressively and more
- 20:59intentionally? That's the that's the main
- 21:02correction I was make. I would make for her.
- 21:04Her direction was going down. I can see boom going down.
- 21:08OK, but again, come back up now be more intentional with your
- 21:14arms. Sweep it down.
- 21:16Sweep down, down, down. So you see?
- 21:18So what? Wait, wait.
- 21:20So right now. So she went here.
- 21:22You see like she went here. Boom, boom.
- 21:24I want you to go down. Yes, Sweep it past your rib
- 21:27cage. OK.
- 21:29Yeah, you are. You're doing great.
- 21:31You're doing great. Sweep it down.
- 21:32Down, down, down, down. Yes, yes, that will make a
- 21:41difference. They're applying more force with
- 21:44that quick correct correction. And it took just what, back and
- 21:48forth three times? Make the correction.
- 21:52It will make a tremendous difference instead of letting
- 21:55somebody go through the drills. So on the drills, the timing is
- 21:59what you are making sure your eyes see is my upper body.
- 22:04Are my legs and my arms coordinated, moving at the same
- 22:06time. It should be like a string.
- 22:08Boom. It's like having a string.
- 22:10Everything is moving together. I'm a puppet.
- 22:12We're moving together at the same time.
- 22:14OK. Oh, the B skip, the B skip.
- 22:19So you want to think about your your A skip as your acceleration
- 22:23movement. OK, your A skip is your
- 22:25acceleration movement. You're coming here and it's
- 22:27boom, boom. It's the A skip.
- 22:29Boom, same thing. Hinge back down, hinge back
- 22:31down. Your Max velocity, your B skip.
- 22:35Now you're up. Come in here, cyclist.
- 22:37Boom, right back under here, here, boom, right back under,
- 22:41right back under. Now the B skip for high school.
- 22:44Sometimes we do it, sometimes we don't, depending on the learning
- 22:47curve because you're going to see kicking out, kicking out.
- 22:53Break the B skip down in two ways.
- 22:56First is the up. You got to get up to the hip
- 22:59line first. Same thing.
- 23:01Remember, everything is coming up to the hip line because this
- 23:04is your source of power. That's why your hips start here.
- 23:08Boom. It's important to go here.
- 23:11So you're telling your body you're going in front.
- 23:14If you let them go here, you know, you see the running like
- 23:16this. It's because the hips are
- 23:18telling it to go which direction exactly?
- 23:22You have to come back to the posture every single time to get
- 23:26them to go front side. OK, so again, first movement on
- 23:30the B skip is up. Make them go up first.
- 23:34Don't let them cut it off. My heel is under the glute, OK,
- 23:39My foot is behind the knee. Boom, boom.
- 23:42Some people go here, correct. This is under the glute.
- 23:46OK, toe is up. Always make that correction.
- 23:49It's up first. Now, on the cycle, you want to
- 23:52keep the toe up because that's when they lose this and they
- 23:56reach. OK.
- 23:58It's all from the hips. It's coming here.
- 24:00Keep the toe up. Cycle it right back under on the
- 24:03balls of the feet. OK.
- 24:05Anybody want to demonstrate? We got a bee skipper in here.
- 24:10Come to the right here. Come on up.
- 24:12Yeah, yeah, you. Yeah, yeah.
- 24:15Come on. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 24:17We got a bee skipper. Let's give him a hand.
- 24:24All right? You know?
- 24:29OK, let's see your B skips. OK.
- 24:34OK. OK.
- 24:37It's not terrible. Yeah.
- 24:39OK. Let's give him some hands.
- 24:41Are you good? Actually, I wouldn't even like,
- 24:45you know, just go one more time, like get your get your arms
- 24:48together. Yeah, get your arms, time it,
- 24:49sweep it. Not OK.
- 24:51I wouldn't. OK, you sit down.
- 24:53Yes, actually, that's not bad. Actually, I'm, I'm for real,
- 24:57though, That's it's not bad at all.
- 24:59Like the good thing I liked about him is that he was staying
- 25:02tight on the cycle and just keeping it right here to his
- 25:04range of motion capabilities and he was staying in the pocket.
- 25:09You have to recognize their physical capacity and where they
- 25:13are on their development to understand the training of your
- 25:16eye on where the correction is. OK.
- 25:19I would just make sure he continues to increase his
- 25:22mobility. That's the answer.
- 25:28And then you can, you know, go from there.
- 25:30OK. All right, butt kicks, the big
- 25:33thing we've you see the difference on the butt kicks.
- 25:35You know, we used to go here. We used to go here.
- 25:37Again, the big thing here is just making sure the butt kicks
- 25:39knees are going forward and you're getting that heels to the
- 25:43glute. OK, here.
- 25:44So it's here, OK, right there, High knees.
- 25:50What direction am I going right now?
- 25:53What direction is this? That's OK.
- 25:58Am I up or am I up or down? Everyone does their high knees
- 26:03like that 80% of the time. What's the correction?
- 26:08Go down. Go down.
- 26:12You hear that? That's sports corrected. 80% of
- 26:19your high schoolers are going up on their high knees.
- 26:22Teach them force. Teach them direction every
- 26:25single time. Sample things, straight leg
- 26:30bounds, power skips, same thing build UPS.
- 26:33Like I said, by the time you finish the warm up, we're ready
- 26:36to rock. That is the same way you want to
- 26:39keep it the start training angles.
- 26:43OK, so when we get down in the stands, especially at the high
- 26:46school age, the biggest thing I see is them starting and their
- 26:51legs are lined up stacked like narrow.
- 26:56If you just fix this, I was telling in my presentation last
- 26:59night, coach Francesca Green, once you made me aware, it was
- 27:03like an epiphany of my life. I was like, that is for
- 27:07everybody. Once I make this correction to
- 27:10get them stabilized, feet shoulder width apart, correct it
- 27:15every single time. When you go back to practice,
- 27:18you're going to be like, what? Open up your leg and you're
- 27:22going to see a complete difference because now it's
- 27:25going to generate force in a way that has stability from the very
- 27:28first movement. OK making sure their feet are
- 27:31shoulder width apart. The start is violent.
- 27:36We like we all. I know you heard that before and
- 27:38I'm like, I'm sorry. Like little sweet Abigail, I
- 27:41need you to be violent and and you know, you have to be
- 27:45aggressive with the start. But before you get them out,
- 27:49this is the cues that I used to get somebody I've never worked
- 27:52with before. And I'm trying to get them in
- 27:53the right angle, shin angles that we talked about here.
- 27:56OK, So when you come down feet and shoulder width apart, I'm
- 28:00coming down. My front toe is lined up with
- 28:05the knee. OK?
- 28:07So if you come here, you can stand up if you can't see me,
- 28:11but my front toe is lined up with my knee.
- 28:15OK, that gives me now if my front, if my foot was here and I
- 28:19did like this, what's that going to do?
- 28:22It's going to pop you up. You want to think about the
- 28:24angles, toe just kick again. These are quick things.
- 28:27I'm telling you. It's going to change your life.
- 28:29Toes to the knee. Next thing when they lean down,
- 28:33you want that shin, that front shin parallel to the ground.
- 28:38That would get them in the angles from the beginning.
- 28:41So foot here, they're leaning forward because sometimes they
- 28:44look like this and again, you guys stand up to see me 'cause
- 28:47I'm on the ground. So it stand up back there, lean
- 28:52them forward. They will start to have self
- 28:54correct once you give them these cues.
- 28:57OK, arm, hands are shoulder width apart, feet are shoulder
- 29:00width apart. I'm leaning forward.
- 29:03My my, my shin is parallel to the ground.
- 29:05Boom, I'm in, I'm in here from here when they go upset keeping
- 29:11that lean. Now you have the angle that
- 29:14we're talking about there 9120, but you got to start them by
- 29:19getting them in the angle in the set toe to the opposite knee,
- 29:25shin parallel to the ground. When they go to set, now you can
- 29:30see where their hips are. If it's too high, too low for
- 29:34them to be in that 12090. Now you can just correct higher
- 29:38on your hips, lower on your hips.
- 29:40Once you start there, now you are just creating these
- 29:43different compartments for them to make your corrections.
- 29:47You can break it down and that's what's good for us coaches is
- 29:50breaking it down in ways that you can now just say, OK, is
- 29:53this is this is this is this just quick ways, OK.
