- Lucas: Welcome back to Learn French with Fexingo! I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna. Episode fifteen already. Can you believe it? Lucas: I know. And today we're learning something super practical — the days of the week. Luna: Oh, that's great. I always forget how to say Wednesday in French. Lucas: Then you're in the right place. Let's start with Monday — lundi. Luna: Lundi. Lucas: Perfect. Lundi is Monday. Notice the 'n' is soft. Luna: Lundi. I like that. It sounds like 'lun-dee'. Lucas: Exactly. Now Tuesday — mardi. Luna: Mardi. Like Mardi Gras. Lucas: Right. Mardi Gras is Fat Tuesday. Good connection. Luna: So Tuesday is mardi. Got it. Lucas: Now Wednesday — mercredi. Say it with me: mer-cre-di. Luna: Mercredi. Lucas: Nice. That one's a bit longer. Thursday is jeudi. Luna: Jeudi. Sounds like 'zhuh-dee'. Lucas: Yes. The 'j' is soft, like in 'je'. Friday — vendredi. Luna: Vendredi. That's almost like 'Friday' but fancier. Lucas: True. Saturday — samedi. Luna: Samedi. Like 'samuh-dee'. Lucas: And finally Sunday — dimanche. Luna: Dimanche. That one's pretty. Lucas: Let's do a quick review. Repeat after me: lundi, mardi, mercredi, jeudi, vendredi, samedi, dimanche. Luna: Lundi, mardi, mercredi, jeudi, vendredi, samedi, dimanche. Lucas: Wow. You nailed it. Now let's use them in a tiny scene. Imagine it's Monday. You say: Aujourd'hui, c'est lundi. Luna: Aujourd'hui, c'est lundi. Today is Monday. Lucas: Perfect. Now Tuesday: Aujourd'hui, c'est mardi. Luna: Aujourd'hui, c'est mardi. Lucas: Good. You can use this for any day. Luna: So for Wednesday it's: Aujourd'hui, c'est mercredi. Lucas: Exactly. Now let's practice all seven days in order one more time. Luna: Okay. Lundi, mardi, mercredi, jeudi, vendredi, samedi, dimanche. Lucas: Perfect. Remember, in French, days aren't capitalized unless at the start of a sentence. Luna: Oh, good tip. So 'lundi' is lowercase usually. Lucas: Right. Now let's do a quick scene. I'll ask: Quel jour sommes-nous? What day is it? Luna: Quel jour sommes-nous? That's a bit long. Lucas: You can also say: On est quel jour? More casual. Luna: On est quel jour? Today is... let's say vendredi. Lucas: On est vendredi. Perfect. Now you ask me. Luna: On est quel jour? Lucas: On est samedi. Weekend! Luna: Ah, samedi. Time to relax. Lucas: Let's review the days one more time. I'll say the English, you say the French. Luna: Okay. Lucas: Monday. Luna: Lundi. Lucas: Tuesday. Luna: Mardi. Lucas: Wednesday. Luna: Mercredi. Lucas: Thursday. Luna: Jeudi. Lucas: Friday. Luna: Vendredi. Lucas: Saturday. Luna: Samedi. Lucas: Sunday. Luna: Dimanche. Lucas: You did great. So now you can say what day it is in French. Luna: I love it. I'll start using these right away. Lucas: That's the spirit. And remember, Fexingo is here with you every step. Luna: Yep. Keep practicing and we'll see you next time. Lucas: Au revoir et bonne journée! Luna: Bye everyone!
