- 0:00[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville Jaguars fans welcome and to do vault daily presented by Jim Jack.com.
- 0:04[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Jordan Aluga.
- 0:05[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks so much for being here.
- 0:06[SPEAKER_00]: It's Tuesday, leading up to Jaguars and bills.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_00]: And we're talking about what in my opinion is the biggest key to the Jaguars beating the bills.
- 0:16[SPEAKER_00]: And there's a lot of areas of this game that are very intriguing.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_00]: We'll talk about all of them, but we're going to talk about my biggest key as well today.
- 0:24[SPEAKER_00]: I think for the Jack Wars, to emerge victorious from this big time wild card matchup, the bills are usually a team that have been at the top of their division, kind of hosting games early in the playoffs.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_00]: And that's not the case this year.
- 0:39[SPEAKER_00]: The Jaguars did win the AFC South.
- 0:41[SPEAKER_00]: They had to win eight straight games to end the season to win the AFC South and to enter the playoffs on top of the AFC South and host this wildcard round game.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_00]: they don't get any favors of course because the bills come in and is it the best bills team we've ever seen no but do they still feature Josh Allen that they have a good offensive line that they have the NFL's leading rusher yes to all of those questions and they still have Sean McDermott and there is talent on the defensive side of the ball to make things difficult for the Jaguars so this is by no means they walk in the park by no means and easy game for the Jaguars even though they're the home team and
- 1:24[SPEAKER_00]: I think that the bills will probably be picked by most, although they have not had success winning on the playoffs, or winning on the road in the playoffs, excuse me.
- 1:36[SPEAKER_00]: The bottom line is most people think that it's Josh Allen's year because there's no Patrick Mahomes, no Lamar Jackson, no Joe Burrow even though there hasn't been a lot of Joe Burrow in the playoffs as I've laid anyways, but really to me it's the Patrick Mahomes effect.
- 1:50[SPEAKER_00]: There's no Patrick Mahomes, so you look at Josh Allen as that next quarterback that's been really, really damn good in the playoffs and he has been amazing in the playoffs.
- 1:58[SPEAKER_00]: He's been amazing, you know, pretty much every time he steps on the field, right, for the last handful of years.
- 2:06[SPEAKER_00]: Does that mean that the bills just are going to steam roll their way to the Super Bowl?
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think so.
- 2:11[SPEAKER_00]: And I think for them, finishing with a 12 and 5 record and having to go on the road for the Jaguars, that's not easy either.
- 2:19[SPEAKER_00]: I think that this is a pretty tough matchup for both teams.
- 2:21[SPEAKER_00]: It's an intriguing game and we're going to dive into, again, my number one key for the Jaguars.
- 2:26[SPEAKER_00]: Really appreciate y'all being here.
- 2:28[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, it's obviously all Jags all the time.
- 2:31[SPEAKER_00]: Please like and subscribe.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_00]: Let me know your confidence level going into this game.
- 2:35[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe what your biggest key is in the comment section below.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_00]: You can also check out genjack.com.
- 2:40[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously not recording at the regular home studio right now.
- 2:44[SPEAKER_00]: Downstairs, a little man, as I mentioned yesterday, is not feeling too hot and Murray's doing in the show.
- 2:49[SPEAKER_00]: Everybody say hi to Murray.
- 2:53[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, a little man is not feeling too hot.
- 2:54[SPEAKER_00]: So we're just,
- 2:56[SPEAKER_00]: altering things, we are adjusting on the fly as NFL coaches have to do throughout every single game.
- 3:02[SPEAKER_00]: And so that is going to be one big key as adjustments throughout the game for both squads, but I think not to bury the lead too much.
- 3:11[SPEAKER_00]: I think the biggest key for the Jaguars is
- 3:14[SPEAKER_00]: What has been the catalyst for them winning games, the way they've been winning games, it's the passing game.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_00]: It is.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, they always have the threat of the rushing attack, and I think that you've seen teams respect their rushing attack throughout the year.
- 3:26[SPEAKER_00]: But it's the fact that Trevor Lawrence is confident in what he is seeing pre-snop.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_00]: He's confident in the play calling and the play design and the different outlets he has each and every player.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_00]: He's confident in his receivers.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_00]: He has extreme confidence in Jacobi Myers.
- 3:41[SPEAKER_00]: He has extreme confidence in Britain's strange Parker Washington.
- 3:45[SPEAKER_00]: And Travis H. T. N. out of the backfield.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_00]: And then Brian Thomas Jr. Look, Trevor Lawrence and Brian Thomas Jr. their connection hasn't been everything you hoped and dreamed it would be heading into this 2025 campaign.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_00]: People thought B.T.
- 3:57[SPEAKER_00]: J. might be able to lead the NFL and receiving yards.
- 4:00[SPEAKER_00]: But obviously that has not been the way his sophomore campaign has gone, but he still has developed into kind of a,
- 4:07[SPEAKER_00]: Impressive deep threat for Trevor Lawrence and for this Jacksonville Jaguar's offense.
- 4:12[SPEAKER_00]: So to me There's all sorts of things to look at in this game, but ultimately what got you here?
- 4:21[SPEAKER_00]: That's Trevor Lawrence in this passing offense.
- 4:23[SPEAKER_00]: Um, I
- 4:25[SPEAKER_00]: And that's no shade to the Jaguar's defense, which has been very good, but I think that the catalyst for the winning is the offense, is Trevor Lawrence, and is Jacobi Myers and all these guys playing in extremely high level.
- 4:40[SPEAKER_00]: And of course, Liam Cohen dialing it up, creating mismatches, knowing kind of how to scheme and attack and and dress things up for each different matchup throughout this, this winning
- 4:53[SPEAKER_00]: The jacks, they've averaged over 30 points per game at home this year, they've averaged since the by week, like over 33 points per game, 34 points per game, something like that.
- 5:03[SPEAKER_00]: The key to me is scoring points.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_00]: If you can score points, if your passing offense can execute the way that they have been, you're probably going to win the damn game.
- 5:13[SPEAKER_00]: Now, is that going to be easy against the bills?
- 5:15[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think so.
- 5:17[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that the bills have the best defense, past defense, that the Jack Wars will have faced this year, but they do have a good one.
- 5:25[SPEAKER_00]: They still have talent on the back and they're well coached.
- 5:29[SPEAKER_00]: They do vary up their coverage as a fair amount.
- 5:33[SPEAKER_00]: Maxwell Harrison is a big name to watch this week in terms of injury.
- 5:36[SPEAKER_00]: If he's able to play or not, but even if he can't play, they have been for it and white who can play outside.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_00]: And yes, Tre White is up there in years and he's had injuries throughout his career and all that stuff, but he's playing a good football right now.
- 5:50[SPEAKER_00]: On the outside for them, and then you've also got talented guys on the interior and Toronto.
- 5:57[SPEAKER_00]: Your safety's are playing pretty well, Jordan Poir, the kid out of Utah as well, second year safety.
- 6:07[SPEAKER_00]: So, they've got guys on the back and they've got good defensive linemen, they can blitz when they need to, although they're not like one of the most blitz-heavy teams in football, they can blitz when they need to, I think their run defense has improved overall.
- 6:22[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think it's one of the better run defense units in the league or one of the better run defense units they will have faced the Jaguars as of late they've been on I mean the the run defense of the Jaguars had to face lately have been like it's been pretty crazy when you look at the Broncos being one of the best run defenses in football.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_00]: The Colts have good run defense, the Titans have good run defense, they played both of those teams twice lately.
- 6:45[SPEAKER_00]: And some of these other matchups, it's been tough in terms of the run defenses that they've gone up against, but they kind of stay the course.
- 6:53[SPEAKER_00]: And that's another key to the passing offense is making the opposing defense respect to the run.
- 7:01[SPEAKER_00]: and keeping with it to an extent.
- 7:03[SPEAKER_00]: You can't just go, you know, drop back 45, 50 times and expect the opposing defense to not be ready for that.
- 7:10[SPEAKER_00]: You have to keep a modest and Travis UTN does a great job of that, the offensive line as well.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_00]: And they're gonna have a big assignment, right?
- 7:19[SPEAKER_00]: It's not like you're facing the Broncos defensive front, but this is a defensive front with talent that is well-coached.
- 7:25[SPEAKER_00]: Brian Nielsen's obviously up there, which is super interesting.
- 7:29[SPEAKER_00]: But they're coming into your house, and the Jaguars have been incredible at home this year.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_00]: All year long really, they've had one kind of disappointing game at home, and I was against the Seahawks, but of course, they had opportunities to score more points in that game than they did.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_00]: They did get manhandled up front a little bit, but Seahawks and Rams kind of looked like a turning point for the offensive line in a lot of ways.
- 7:49[SPEAKER_00]: I think the offensive lines doing a really good job with
- 7:53[SPEAKER_00]: Let's pick up communication and travel allowance is helping out with that stuff pre-snap as well and just executing one-on-ones.
- 8:00[SPEAKER_00]: So, to me, it's all about your bread and butter.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_00]: It's about travel allowance to Kobe Myers, Britain Strange.
- 8:09[SPEAKER_00]: Brian Thomas Jr. Parker Washington, Travis E. T. N. All these guys, the complimentary players as well.
- 8:15[SPEAKER_00]: You know, Bachelorette and Lee Quint Allen, Quint Morris, Johnny Munt, et cetera.
- 8:20[SPEAKER_00]: These guys, you know, getting into the game and being able to make plays in the passing offense, I think is what's key to this football game.
- 8:27[SPEAKER_00]: And there are a lot of other areas where the Jaguars will need to perform in order to win the game, but if they're passing offense, can simply execute the way it has over the last two months,
- 8:38[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to be able to put up points.
- 8:40[SPEAKER_00]: That's my feeling on this one.
- 8:43[SPEAKER_00]: And I think that they will be able to execute that way because that's what they've been doing at home.
- 8:47[SPEAKER_00]: That's what they've been doing anywhere they've been playing.
- 8:49[SPEAKER_00]: Has a matter to the defenses.
- 8:51[SPEAKER_00]: think that they're going to be coached up well for this one.
- 8:53[SPEAKER_00]: I really respect Liam Cohen and his entire staff.
- 8:57[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, the defense needs to be able to slow down James Cook.
- 9:00[SPEAKER_00]: They can't let him run all over them, right?
- 9:02[SPEAKER_00]: That will be greatly beneficial for the Jaguars too.
- 9:05[SPEAKER_00]: And if they can do that, that's going to help them win this football game.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: If they can...
- 9:10[SPEAKER_00]: make sure that Josh Allen isn't running for 75 yards or two touchdowns or whatever crazy numbers he can put up and these things matter but ultimately I think again the biggest key is just Trevor Lawrence executing at a high level and the passing game doing the same and I have no reason to believe that that won't be the case.
- 9:32[SPEAKER_00]: Uh, that's kind of my number one key.
- 9:34[SPEAKER_00]: Again, let me know in the comment section below what your number one key is for the Jaguars to win this football game and if you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe y'all for good one.
