- 0:18thinking, and just bring some. Joy into the world.
- 0:21So welcome to the coop and let's start your day off in a
- 0:24fantastic way, hey? Everybody, good morning from the
- 0:29chicken coop. Yes, all the girls are out here
- 0:32arguing and having a great time eating breakfast platters.
- 0:37So how many of you remember Bob Ross?
- 0:39He the painter from PBS? Well, he was mostly on PBS, but
- 0:44he wasn't just that, but he was the most gentle person.
- 0:51And when you, if you've ever watched a documentary on him,
- 0:53it's not just that he appeared to be a gentle person.
- 0:56He really was a gentle person. And sadly, he got taken
- 0:59advantage of in his life by the people who helped him get to
- 1:04where he was being seen all the time.
- 1:07That's not what we're here to talk about today.
- 1:09We're here to talk about Bob Ross and how he taught people
- 1:13his the way he viewed the world, because how you view the world
- 1:16is everything. So he himself appeared to be
- 1:21very low key. He came across and most of the
- 1:26time even behind the scenes that was the case, although he was
- 1:29meticulous, those paintings that you saw that he could do in 30
- 1:33minutes, he really practice practiced all of that way ahead
- 1:37of time. He did it over and over.
- 1:39He made sure he had it nailed down before he showed anybody
- 1:42else how to do it. So one could say that if you
- 1:46took the, the point of view of this, that he's not really
- 1:50telling us the truth about how long it takes.
- 1:52No, he's showing you how long it takes to do it when he finally
- 1:56had it done. But his process leading up to
- 1:58that was he wanted to learn, learn, learn, learn, learn,
- 2:01practice, practice, practice, practice.
- 2:02And then he would show you how to do it.
- 2:04So he wasn't in the fact wasting anyone's time in the process of
- 2:08doing it. He was just, you know, showing
- 2:10you the end of how to do it, which I kind of, I completely
- 2:14understand and I actually love because he took all the risk on
- 2:17himself first and then shared it with all of us, which was really
- 2:22cool. And I used to watch him all the
- 2:24time with my dad. And I don't know why my dad was
- 2:28not someone who painted like that, but I think it was just
- 2:31the fact that he could lie on the couch, decompress and watch
- 2:35this guy do something that at that time, nobody else was
- 2:38really doing. It was just like a very like,
- 2:40wow, look at this. So really loved that.
- 2:43Really, really loved that part, that part and how he did what he
- 2:47did. And during that, he would say
- 2:50things like if if a drop of paint went somewhere or
- 2:54something happened unexpected, he would say, oh, that's a happy
- 2:58accident. And he would explain nothing's
- 3:00wrong. Don't get upset about it.
- 3:02If you put something where you don't like it, let's make it a
- 3:04happy accident. Let's do this.
- 3:06And I have always carried that in my head, like, oh, oh, that's
- 3:11kind of cool. So I allow for that.
- 3:14I learned that very early on in my life to allow for those happy
- 3:17accidents. And this morning as I was
- 3:20walking out here and I was like, oh, I wonder what I'm going to
- 3:23talk about today because I had a couple things I could have
- 3:25talked about. I hadn't decided yet.
- 3:27I I have, I come out here, you know, early and I have on
- 3:31leggings. Now not all my leggings have the
- 3:34side pocket or a pocket to hold my phone.
- 3:37So I went as often. I stick it in my waistband and I
- 3:41stuck it in my waistband this morning.
- 3:43The phone fell all the way down inside the the leggings to my
- 3:49knee and and it stopped and I went huh, And I looked and I
- 3:54started walking around to see if it would fall out.
- 3:56Now it's like at my knee and my leggings end at like halfway up
- 4:02my calf and I'm walking and it's not coming out.
- 4:05And I was like happy accident. And the second I said it, I was
- 4:10like, oh wow, like I I see that. I can see how I just did that
- 4:15and that's so unbelievable that I'm still maintaining that in my
- 4:19head. Happy accident.
- 4:21Like I do it. I hear myself say it all the
- 4:23time, but I never actually paid attention to it.
- 4:25And because it happened right when I was coming out to tell to
- 4:28do the podcast and tell you guys good morning, I was like, I have
- 4:32to share that. So granted, I didn't intend for
- 4:36my phone to be put all the way down my leggings to my knee, but
- 4:41it was a happy accident because then I could walk out here and
- 4:44it wasn't slipping in my waistband and falling out on the
- 4:47ground in the water. And I've that's happened.
- 4:50I can't tell you how many countless times.
- 4:52Why do I keep having the same pair of pants that I put it on
- 4:55with that does that don't have the pocket?
- 4:57Because I like the pants otherwise.
- 4:59And it's just ridiculous how our brains work like we'll do
- 5:02something and we know it's going to happen, but we do it anyway.
- 5:04So today I I had that moment and I wanted to share it because I
- 5:09want other people to to know you're surrounded by these
- 5:12little happy accidents, things that don't go exactly as we
- 5:16thought they were, but something else good came out of it or
- 5:19something else different that could be good if you allowed
- 5:22yourself to have a happy accident.
- 5:24So today go find your happy accident my friends, because now
- 5:28I know I can carry my phone in my pants at my knee.
- 5:32I hope you guys have a blessed day and I'll see you tomorrow.
- 5:35Bye.
