- 0:00Speaker 1: I keep forgetting that we're doing video. And then I
- 0:03Speaker 1: watched these video clips back and I laugh at them
- 0:06Speaker 1: because they're funny. But then my vanity kicks in and
- 0:09Speaker 1: I'm like, bro, fucking clean yourself up for these videos.
- 0:14Speaker 2: You know what? That's because you're a single man. Bro.
- 0:16Speaker 2: Maybe my clips.
- 0:18Speaker 1: Talking you're talking Brian Bobgartner and looking like shit.
- 0:24Speaker 2: No, it's because you want the freaking ladies to be
- 0:26Speaker 2: like Yo, you see how handsome.
- 0:28Speaker 1: No Maach was. It's reeling about ladies. It's just about
- 0:31Speaker 1: like my own.
- 0:33Speaker 2: You know.
- 0:33Speaker 1: We just did nine thousand of these episodes with no
- 0:35Speaker 1: one looking. Now, I'm like, look at my fit and
- 0:40Speaker 1: I watch all these podcasters. I told you they have
- 0:43Speaker 1: like the great lighting and everything. I want better lighting.
- 0:45Speaker 2: Damn all right, So look, if you want to we
- 0:48Speaker 2: got to step up. We'd have to step up to
- 0:50Speaker 2: another level, and that means going into a studio.
- 0:53Speaker 1: No, we're not doing that. I'm just saying I feel
- 0:55Speaker 1: like Dannel with his connections. I mean I have connections too,
- 0:59Speaker 1: but I'd rather use iheart's money. Could could send someone
- 1:03Speaker 1: over who would do a better lighting setup than I have.
- 1:06Speaker 1: Maybe I get a drop. No one needs to look
- 1:08Speaker 1: at my fucking dirty ass couch. I could get a
- 1:10Speaker 1: nice little drop, bro, Do you get Brodie? You is
- 1:14Speaker 1: always fire. You need to shut the fuck up. The
- 1:16Speaker 1: coloratura enough.
- 1:17Speaker 2: Listen, listen to this. Your sweatshirt matches, the background, matches
- 1:21Speaker 2: the outside, So please stop with the bullshit.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Can I just say one more thing?
- 1:24Speaker 2: Since I've known you, this is ridiculous. Ahead, your wallpaper
- 1:29Speaker 2: is fly and you sit here and you complain about
- 1:33Speaker 2: how bad Uh the backdrop is bad. I don't like
- 1:36Speaker 2: the way I look. You're a handsome fucking dude, Heather
- 1:39Speaker 2: Graham on this podcast. Do I need to remind everybody
- 1:44Speaker 2: to you?
- 1:45Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 1:45Speaker 2: Zach, come on, you know you're a good looking guy,
- 1:47Speaker 2: don't you.
- 1:47Speaker 3: Yes?
- 1:47Speaker 1: She did? I need that for the sound machine. Daniel,
- 1:49Speaker 1: Oh yeah, I pulled. I just think that the colored
- 1:52Speaker 1: the colored temperature is a bit off. See, I could
- 1:54Speaker 1: warm my skin up a little, Daniel, with some I
- 1:57Speaker 1: could just change the kelvin uhca on the lamps, temperature
- 2:01Speaker 1: on the lamp.
- 2:02Speaker 2: You are Vanity bro. If this way, if we were
- 2:05Speaker 2: the Smurfs, you would.
- 2:06Speaker 1: Wasn't Vanity smurf? Very effeminate? I don't think that would
- 2:08Speaker 1: fly these days.
- 2:10Speaker 2: M vanity and effeminate?
- 2:13Speaker 1: Was he wasn't?
- 2:14Speaker 3: He was?
- 2:14Speaker 1: He was his name Vanity.
- 2:15Speaker 2: Smurfe, and he just liked to look in the mirror
- 2:17Speaker 2: all the time.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Yeah, but he was also very effeminate, I believe, Joel.
- 2:22Speaker 1: Do you recall before the time, Daniel, can you look up?
- 2:29Speaker 1: Was Vanity Smurf effeminate and gauge coated? As your friend said,
- 2:33Speaker 1: you could?
- 2:33Speaker 4: You could say that because Vanity Smurf wore a flower
- 2:36Speaker 4: in their hat, a pink stiller, which I think did.
- 2:38Speaker 1: Oh you use then you used they them for Vanity Smurf, Danel.
- 2:42Speaker 4: You said, I don't know how the Smurfs identify.
- 2:44Speaker 2: Well, there's and then there's a smurf veet.
- 2:48Speaker 4: There well Smurf that was created by gargamele, So we
- 2:50Speaker 4: don't know if Smurf, we don't know if Smurfet was
- 2:53Speaker 4: like officially.
- 2:54Speaker 2: Well later on, but later on? What do you mean
- 2:57Speaker 2: that were girls?
- 2:58Speaker 1: I assume that Papa Smurf and what's her name, Girly
- 3:01Speaker 1: Smurf smurffet. I think that they I assumed that they
- 3:04Speaker 1: fucked and made all the Smurfs.
- 3:06Speaker 2: That's not what No, no, no, no, no, No, the
- 3:07Speaker 2: Smurfs existed before Smurfed. Gargamel was trying to infiltrate the
- 3:12Speaker 2: Smurf village, right, and he created Smurfet.
- 3:16Speaker 1: Correct.
- 3:16Speaker 2: And she used to have black hair and she was
- 3:19Speaker 2: talking like this, and it was like hi, hi everybody.
- 3:23Speaker 2: And when she when she transformed into smurf Fet, it
- 3:29Speaker 2: was because she experienced the love and what it meant
- 3:32Speaker 2: to be a Smurf, and Gargamel no longer had an
- 3:35Speaker 2: ally in this Smurf that he created.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Oh, I never do that, Laura, I missed all that.
- 3:40Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a pretty interesting episode. Everybody. Everybody was trying
- 3:45Speaker 2: to smash.
- 3:46Speaker 1: Everyone took their shot. Everyone shot their shot.
- 3:49Speaker 2: Manly smur was that his name? Who was the one
- 3:50Speaker 2: with the freaking hammer?
- 3:51Speaker 3: Was it?
- 3:52Speaker 2: Manly Smurf? What was his name? Handy Smurf. He was
- 3:54Speaker 2: the one that it seemed like was getting it.
- 3:57Speaker 1: I used to collect those little figurines, did you, Donald?
- 4:00Speaker 2: No? I did not.
- 4:02Speaker 1: We're of a certain age where the you know, you
- 4:06Speaker 1: would collect the figurines for all the Smurfs.
- 4:08Speaker 2: Look, I loved I loved.
- 4:11Speaker 1: Have to go on eBay and get me some Smurf.
- 4:14Speaker 2: I loved me some Smurfs. Yeah, and I loved the lore,
- 4:17Speaker 2: especially when Johann and Pee Wee joined the fray. But no,
- 4:22Speaker 2: thank you.
- 4:22Speaker 1: I don't know what any of that means.
- 4:24Speaker 2: You don't know who Johann and Pee we are and
- 4:25Speaker 2: you not. Yell.
- 4:26Speaker 1: I was over served as migeon last night, and I
- 4:30Speaker 1: need you to bring down your volume.
- 4:32Speaker 2: Okaylus too. I worked out this morning, did you no?
- 4:35Speaker 1: Because I was overserved last night by myself. I barely
- 4:39Speaker 1: drink anymore, so when I have too many glasses of
- 4:42Speaker 1: wine it hurts hashtag forty nine been there hashtag thirty five. Well,
- 4:50Speaker 1: you know when like when you barely, when you stop
- 4:52Speaker 1: drinking for the most part, then your tolerance is nothing.
- 4:54Speaker 1: So then when you have a handful of glasses of wine,
- 4:57Speaker 1: you wake up like, oh, why you know?
- 5:00Speaker 2: I had my annual and this was a time physical. Yeah,
- 5:04Speaker 2: and I was sweating it hard, but the physical came
- 5:07Speaker 2: back so good that I'm like, I think he's lying
- 5:09Speaker 2: to me, babe. There's no way. There's no fucking way.
- 5:11Speaker 1: That's called a very neurotic person who gets there deep,
- 5:15Speaker 1: He gets there, gets their physical results, and it's like
- 5:17Speaker 1: he's lying.
- 5:18Speaker 2: He's definitely lying.
- 5:19Speaker 1: There's no way would why would he want to lie.
- 5:23Speaker 2: I don't think he's lying, but just that it was
- 5:25Speaker 2: just I was. I was shocked anyway, the conversation, uh was,
- 5:29Speaker 2: what were we just talking about?
- 5:32Speaker 1: And when you're physical? But we were talking about how
- 5:35Speaker 1: they tie together drinking being overserved, right I was.
- 5:38Speaker 2: I said to him, you know, I think my kidneys
- 5:40Speaker 2: are really you know, they're done because when I drink,
- 5:44Speaker 2: my back hurts. He goes, that's dehydration, dude. I go, no, no, no,
- 5:49Speaker 2: I don't think you understand. When I drink and I
- 5:52Speaker 2: wake up the next morning, like I have a real
- 5:55Speaker 2: back pain, like it's like fucking back pain. He's like, yeah,
- 5:58Speaker 2: that s dehydration. But well, I felt really stupid at
- 6:02Speaker 2: that point because I had diagnosed myself with like you
- 6:06Speaker 2: diagnosed yourself.
- 6:08Speaker 1: You told me in Vegas, You're like, I got bad kidneys.
- 6:15Speaker 2: I like that. You made me sound like Harrison Ford too,
- 6:17Speaker 2: though I got bad kidneys. Yeah.
- 6:19Speaker 1: I know. Donald didn't watch it, but Shrinking season two
- 6:23Speaker 1: is live, and not only that, this morning they dropped
- 6:27Speaker 1: the fucking secret knowledge that I already knew. Shrinking season three.
- 6:31Speaker 2: Picked up awesome, this is amazing.
- 6:34Speaker 1: But show's on fire. It's so good, amazing, wow, So
- 6:38Speaker 1: watch it everybody, It's really good.
- 6:40Speaker 2: It was nice to see Christa out and about promoting
- 6:43Speaker 2: her show.
- 6:44Speaker 1: Christ is so good in the show and she's doing
- 6:47Speaker 1: all sorts of good promotion. She walking now too.
- 6:50Speaker 2: Yeah, I know she's talking shit now to look at us,
- 6:52Speaker 2: all these people talking ship. She was all watched What
- 6:55Speaker 2: Happens Live talking about Yeah, I think there's gonna be
- 6:57Speaker 2: a Scrubs reboot. I'm pretty sure of it.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Well, I said to her. I was being interviewed about
- 7:02Speaker 1: the Garden State charity concert benefit we're doing, and the
- 7:07Speaker 1: reporter goes, what is the deal with the Scrubs reboot?
- 7:09Speaker 1: And I go, The thing is that Bill is promoting
- 7:12Speaker 1: so many things, and each time he gets on a
- 7:15Speaker 1: press line he am, he ratchets it up more. He's
- 7:19Speaker 1: left himself nowhere else to go.
- 7:21Speaker 2: It has to happen now, It kind of has to happen. Now, man,
- 7:25Speaker 2: he talks so much shit, and now christ is jumping
- 7:27Speaker 2: in there and she's talking shit like I'm just saying, man, like, oh,
- 7:31Speaker 2: oh go go.
- 7:33Speaker 1: I think everyone who's a Scrubs fan and this is
- 7:36Speaker 1: obviously a Scrubs rewatch podcast should start being confident and
- 7:41Speaker 1: titillated that something's gonna happen. I'm titillated.
- 7:45Speaker 2: I'm titillated too. I'm gonna tell you that right now.
- 7:47Speaker 2: Yeah I am. I am totally titillated.
- 7:50Speaker 1: Yeah you are.
- 7:50Speaker 2: I can tell I can tell you are too.
- 7:52Speaker 1: You look good.
- 7:53Speaker 2: I was just listen, man, I was looking at right now.
- 7:55Speaker 2: I was looking at you, and I was like, Yo,
- 7:57Speaker 2: he's talking about how bad he looks.
- 7:59Speaker 1: I don't know you're looking. Listen this riverside has you
- 8:02Speaker 1: come through? Pixelated? I like it better.
- 8:04Speaker 2: I like you pixelated, Joe.
- 8:07Speaker 1: I think we need to leave the car.
- 8:09Speaker 2: Yeah, Joel, you look good to hold up? Hold up, Daniel,
- 8:15Speaker 2: it could be a foursome. WHOA. I need to get
- 8:18Speaker 2: shout outs real quick, yo, shout out Side Show, Side
- 8:21Speaker 2: Show Collectibles, Andy, Side Show. Oh my god, you came
- 8:25Speaker 2: through big time. Yo. I went and did a tour
- 8:28Speaker 2: at Side Show, and I got to see all of
- 8:29Speaker 2: the secret stuff, things that a lot of you people
- 8:31Speaker 2: out there don't get to see, all you collectors out there,
- 8:34Speaker 2: I saw old stuff.
- 8:35Speaker 1: I was like, let me explain what they not everyone
- 8:40Speaker 1: knows what Side Show collectibles is Donalds. You're speaking group.
- 8:45Speaker 2: Side Show Collectibles is a toy company that started, uh,
- 8:51Speaker 2: I don't know, Maybe I'm going to say thirty years ago,
- 8:54Speaker 2: and it started really small. And what it is is
- 8:57Speaker 2: people who care about the way toys look. So the
- 9:02Speaker 2: face molds and the hands and the clothing, it's all
- 9:06Speaker 2: top notch. And the posings that you can do with
- 9:09Speaker 2: these toys. They don't only have Star Wars, but they
- 9:12Speaker 2: have like they have Marvel, they have DC, they have
- 9:15Speaker 2: monsters like they're doing a spectacular event right now over there.
- 9:21Speaker 2: It's anyway. I got to go and check out all
- 9:26Speaker 2: of their stuff, and you know how huge of a
- 9:28Speaker 2: Star Wars fan I am. And Andy over at Side
- 9:31Speaker 2: Show was saying, you'll come through, come through, and I
- 9:34Speaker 2: would put it off because I knew if I went there,
- 9:36Speaker 2: I'd just be jealous of all of the toys. Let
- 9:38Speaker 2: me tell you something, it's the best museum I've ever
- 9:40Speaker 2: walked into in my life. It had everything. Everything that
- 9:44Speaker 2: I ever wanted to see in a toy version, it
- 9:47Speaker 2: was there. I didn't I can't give a lot of
- 9:50Speaker 2: stuff away because they made me sign an NDA. But
- 9:52Speaker 2: there's so many really cool things coming out from side
- 9:55Speaker 2: show and if you're a toy collector like I am,
- 9:58Speaker 2: get your wallets. Read.
- 10:00Speaker 1: Okay, that's one of your shots. You said you had
- 10:03Speaker 1: multiple shouts, so there are another shout out.
- 10:06Speaker 2: There is another shout out.
- 10:07Speaker 1: Go ahead. Don't worry, audience, we'll cut all this out.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Go ahead. I'm just kidding. I'm kidding. Don't give me
- 10:14Speaker 1: that fucking cold stare.
- 10:16Speaker 2: I don't want to do.
- 10:16Speaker 1: Do you remember when Sarah would when when when we
- 10:18Speaker 1: were shooting scrubs and they'd be like, all right, going
- 10:21Speaker 1: in tighter for a close up on Sarah, And I'd
- 10:23Speaker 1: be like, we'll never use it. Here we go, never
- 10:26Speaker 1: use it, here we go. She she loved that joke.
- 10:31Speaker 2: I want to shout out all of my all of
- 10:33Speaker 2: these collaborators on my stop motion animation stuff. It's really
- 10:36Speaker 2: starting to come along right now.
- 10:37Speaker 1: Yeah, that new video you sent? What was that level up?
- 10:41Speaker 1: Something got leveled up that slide? What do you mean
- 10:45Speaker 1: you just sent me in the group chat? You send
- 10:47Speaker 1: a video today and something looked leveled up? What was that?
- 10:50Speaker 2: What was that? So it's lit? I want to shout
- 10:54Speaker 2: out elder Son.
- 10:55Speaker 1: Oh, someone helps you come and learn to lot he.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Came to the house and he helped me light the set.
- 11:01Speaker 2: I want to shout out, I mean, this is all
- 11:04Speaker 2: a process and I'm now beginning. I'm now beginning filming
- 11:08Speaker 2: something that I had planned to film that I've been
- 11:11Speaker 2: planning the film for a very long time, and I'm
- 11:13Speaker 2: doing it myself with the help of Justin rash Over
- 11:16Speaker 2: at a stunt Puppet Pictures. He's he's my mentor, and
- 11:22Speaker 2: also with Stupid Buddy Studios who have been, like you know,
- 11:25Speaker 2: really supportive of me, and Ardman believe it or not,
- 11:28Speaker 2: who have been really supportive of me. And it's just
- 11:31Speaker 2: really awesome. So I want to shout out the whole
- 11:33Speaker 2: stop motion.
- 11:34Speaker 1: It's a lot of shout outs. We're getting so many
- 11:36Speaker 1: shout outs.
- 11:36Speaker 2: I'm just very appreciative, you know what I mean. Like
- 11:39Speaker 2: you get a physical, you turn fifty, the a lot
- 11:41Speaker 2: of things you can't take it for granted. Now, granted
- 11:44Speaker 2: I paid a lot, a pretty penny for a lot
- 11:46Speaker 2: of it, for all of it, but you know, with
- 11:49Speaker 2: that came a lot of support.
- 11:51Speaker 1: And when are you going to switch over to the
- 11:53Speaker 1: puppets that I bought you and stop using that one?
- 11:56Speaker 2: So Julian Clark, who is making the puppets. He was
- 12:00Speaker 2: almost finished.
- 12:01Speaker 1: Yeah, with the mouths you needed. You said you needed
- 12:05Speaker 1: it because I have big lips. You needed special lips.
- 12:07Speaker 2: Well, I want your kisses to be I do have
- 12:10Speaker 2: a big lip to me, yes, But I think the
- 12:14Speaker 2: audience would like it.
- 12:15Speaker 1: If you made a JD and Turk puppet eagling each other.
- 12:19Speaker 2: That'd be a lot of fun. Yeah, I mean maybe
- 12:22Speaker 2: we'll show up in this project too.
- 12:24Speaker 1: You know, when I was building your puppet or ordering
- 12:27Speaker 1: your puppet, I didn't know whether to add the mole
- 12:29Speaker 1: or not. I didn't know how you'd feel if the
- 12:31Speaker 1: puppet should have a mole or not it should. Well,
- 12:34Speaker 1: you're gonna have to add it with.
- 12:35Speaker 2: A sharpie, because I know because you didn't.
- 12:37Speaker 1: I didn't do it. I sat there and I and
- 12:40Speaker 1: I and I thought. I pontificated, will he want the
- 12:43Speaker 1: mole on the puppet or not?
- 12:45Speaker 2: For sure?
- 12:46Speaker 1: So I think you could just take a little thin
- 12:47Speaker 1: sharpie and give it a little duke.
- 12:49Speaker 2: You might be right.
- 12:50Speaker 1: It won't be three D. Joelle, how are you you're
- 12:54Speaker 1: you're you're looking pensive. What's going on in your life?
- 12:58Speaker 5: Oh? I was telling all before you guys got on
- 13:01Speaker 5: I in addition to working many hours on a computer
- 13:05Speaker 5: and phone, my hobby lately has been playing the SIMS.
- 13:08Speaker 5: And the other day you told us many hours at
- 13:12Speaker 5: night without the lights on and I strained my eye
- 13:15Speaker 5: pretty badly.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Injury I do, I do? This is a rare injury. People,
- 13:24Speaker 2: you don't hear about this injury.
- 13:25Speaker 1: Hey, hey, this is you know. There isn't enough attention
- 13:28Speaker 1: paid to SIMS for injuries.
- 13:30Speaker 2: You need to really put a light on it.
- 13:32Speaker 1: I would like to. I would like to do another
- 13:34Speaker 1: charity benefit for people who suffer from SIMS for injuries. Joelle,
- 13:39Speaker 1: did you take my advice? Did you take my advice
- 13:42Speaker 1: and get a hot tub and put in the living room?
- 13:44Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 13:44Speaker 3: I did? It was cool.
- 13:46Speaker 5: I should Actually one day I'll upload some of my builds.
- 13:49Speaker 5: I have entire house that's in a pool essentially, so
- 13:52Speaker 5: like the dining table is set in the pool, and
- 13:55Speaker 5: there's a hot tub in there. I don't know if
- 13:56Speaker 5: it's in the living room.
- 13:58Speaker 1: I guess maybe maybe that's what I'll do today. All
- 14:00Speaker 1: start well, I all I know is the one thing
- 14:02Speaker 1: I remember is that the hot tub really solved a
- 14:05Speaker 1: lot of problems because you get your rest, you get
- 14:07Speaker 1: your bathing, you get your friends coming over.
- 14:10Speaker 2: You know who else really appreciated a hot tub? Remember
- 14:13Speaker 2: that show Blind Date. They appreciated a hot tub on
- 14:17Speaker 2: that show Blind Blind. D Roger Lodge hosted it, and
- 14:21Speaker 2: it was about, you know, you'd go on a blind
- 14:23Speaker 2: date with someone and sometimes they you'd get to go
- 14:27Speaker 2: to like a hot tub resort.
- 14:30Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, was this the one where your friends were
- 14:34Speaker 1: in the van?
- 14:37Speaker 2: Wait, what do you mean, No, your friends aren't. Your
- 14:39Speaker 2: friends aren't watching the date. You're on the date on
- 14:41Speaker 2: your own. I think.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Show back in the day where like your friends were
- 14:48Speaker 1: in the van watching or no, maybe it was the
- 14:50Speaker 1: other people were watching. I don't remember.
- 14:53Speaker 4: No, I think I know what you're talking about. It
- 14:55Speaker 4: was like and maybe maybe the day and three of
- 14:57Speaker 4: your friends are in the van like watching it happen.
- 14:59Speaker 1: It was like, Yeah, Room Raiders, Room Rateed.
- 15:02Speaker 2: I remember that one too, a classic. That was the
- 15:05Speaker 2: disgustingest show ever. The girl, Yeah, that's how I said it.
- 15:10Speaker 2: The girl would get to go into the boys room
- 15:16Speaker 2: with a fucking black light.
- 15:19Speaker 1: Oh my god, it's so groul.
- 15:25Speaker 2: And that was and that was like the premise of
- 15:27Speaker 2: the show. They'd have a great date and then she'd
- 15:30Speaker 2: be like, now let me check out his room.
- 15:32Speaker 1: This sense but it's obviously so staged.
- 15:35Speaker 2: I mean like, yeah, no, there was a lot of
- 15:37Speaker 2: winking going on on that show, boy, Like it was
- 15:40Speaker 2: just all over the place. In every episode there was
- 15:43Speaker 2: a it was like, not him.
- 15:44Speaker 1: Too, what do they expect? I mean everyone's doing that.
- 15:48Speaker 2: What they would have the guy going with the black
- 15:51Speaker 2: light and the girl's room would be nothing.
- 15:54Speaker 1: I want to recommend a movie to everybody. Sorry, can't
- 15:56Speaker 1: change topics off of finding seamen with a black light.
- 16:02Speaker 1: Strange Darling. You guys heard of this movie Strange Darlings
- 16:06Speaker 1: or Darling, let me check Strange Strange Darling. I highly
- 16:12Speaker 1: recommend to you. A friend of mine said, watch this,
- 16:15Speaker 1: and it's incredible. It's very violent, I want to warn
- 16:18Speaker 1: anyone who's averse to that, but really really good screenplay
- 16:24Speaker 1: and interestingly fascinatingly shot by Giovanni Rabisi, who is getting
- 16:30Speaker 1: into cinematography. I knew that Giovanni Robec was getting into cinematography.
- 16:35Speaker 1: I had heard that we have some mutual friends, and
- 16:37Speaker 1: I know him a little bit. But I'm watching this
- 16:39Speaker 1: movie and not only it's so good. It's an indie
- 16:41Speaker 1: and it's very contained, but it's so well acted. I'm
- 16:45Speaker 1: thinking to myself, Wow, this is so well shot. And
- 16:47Speaker 1: then the credits come up and it's like shot by
- 16:49Speaker 1: Giovanna Rabisi. It made me think of me like that.
- 16:52Speaker 1: It made me think of you Donald. How like an
- 16:54Speaker 1: actor takes on an art form it's not the thing
- 16:56Speaker 1: they're known for, and like gets really good at it
- 16:58Speaker 1: and like what you're doing that? And Giovanni, who's like
- 17:02Speaker 1: such an incredible actor, gets so into cinematography that he
- 17:05Speaker 1: shot this fucking incredibly beautiful movie.
- 17:08Speaker 2: He found a way to make it go pro. Yo,
- 17:10Speaker 2: that's a that's an amazing feat.
- 17:12Speaker 3: Man.
- 17:13Speaker 2: Congratulations to him, Man, well done.
- 17:15Speaker 1: Yeah, so check out the movie again. It is it
- 17:17Speaker 1: is uh, it's it has humor in it, but it's
- 17:20Speaker 1: very violent and performances. There's this actress frand I got
- 17:24Speaker 1: to look up her name. She was so incredible something, Joel,
- 17:29Speaker 1: will you look it up for me because I don't
- 17:31Speaker 1: want to go deep my phone. Strange Darling the female
- 17:33Speaker 1: lead she I guess someone said she was, but yeah,
- 17:38Speaker 1: Willa Fitzgerald. I personally have never seen her before, but man,
- 17:41Speaker 1: she a fucking incredible actress Reacher. Someone told me she
- 17:44Speaker 1: was on Reacher. I never Yeah, So I was excited
- 17:48Speaker 1: for an actress who who I know works. I don't
- 17:51Speaker 1: mean to say she doesn't work. But I had a
- 17:52Speaker 1: lead in this movie that is like such a difficult
- 17:55Speaker 1: part and she when yeah, no, she did. So we
- 18:02Speaker 1: have an exciting guest. You guys, you know, I was
- 18:07Speaker 1: so fascinated with the show Jerry Duty, like so many
- 18:10Speaker 1: of you. I I remember when I was watching it going,
- 18:13Speaker 1: I have so many questions for this guy. I know
- 18:16Speaker 1: James Marsden a little bit, so he gave me a
- 18:18Speaker 1: little bit of tea. But we have Ronald Gladden, who
- 18:22Speaker 1: was the fella that they did this whole show too.
- 18:27Speaker 1: On the show, Speak and ask him all the questions.
- 18:31Speaker 6: Stories that show we made about a bunch of talks
- 18:37Speaker 6: and nurses.
- 18:41Speaker 7: He's the stories. So yeaha rab here, yeah here.
- 18:55Speaker 2: Yo, Well hello.
- 18:59Speaker 3: Hello, there he is.
- 19:01Speaker 2: There is high quality. His camera is zach pixel for you.
- 19:06Speaker 1: No, he's pixel free on my end. Ronald, Welcome to
- 19:10Speaker 1: the show. Welcome to the show. I'm obsessed with you.
- 19:15Speaker 1: When I was watching the show, I had so many questions.
- 19:19Speaker 1: When I was watching this show and I know Marsden
- 19:21Speaker 1: a little bit, so I was texting him, but he
- 19:23Speaker 1: was being very cryptic and not giving me all the tea.
- 19:27Speaker 1: And I'm just so glad to finally meet you because
- 19:30Speaker 1: I found the story just so incredibly unique.
- 19:34Speaker 3: Well, thank you guys for having me on here, first
- 19:36Speaker 3: of all, and it's amazing to know that you even
- 19:37Speaker 3: know who I am, Like anytime that I get to
- 19:40Speaker 3: meet and interact with people that I've seen on my
- 19:42Speaker 3: TV since I was a middle schooler and a high schooler.
- 19:48Speaker 1: And making it sound old, Ronald, you're making it sound old.
- 19:51Speaker 3: I'm saying that you guys are seasoned vets, all right,
- 19:54Speaker 3: and I'm honored to be here. Great to meet you guys.
- 19:56Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 19:58Speaker 1: I just want to say the obvious thing that every
- 20:00Speaker 1: person who saw this in the world thought you were
- 20:03Speaker 1: the kindest, most patient human being ever. And I mean,
- 20:10Speaker 1: was this have you always been? Before we get into
- 20:12Speaker 1: the nitty gritty, because I know Donald and I got
- 20:14Speaker 1: lots of questions, have you always been like this? Would
- 20:17Speaker 1: your friends and family say that like you are a
- 20:19Speaker 1: very patient, kind, generous human being.
- 20:23Speaker 3: You know, I'm honestly really glad that that's how you
- 20:25Speaker 3: open this up. Because something that I've always tried to
- 20:27Speaker 3: emphasize is that I have always been kind, but I
- 20:31Speaker 3: haven't always been like this, Like I've worked really hard
- 20:33Speaker 3: to become the person that I am today. Like I mean,
- 20:35Speaker 3: in my younger years, if they would have cast for
- 20:37Speaker 3: jury duty when I was twenty three, twenty four to
- 20:39Speaker 3: twenty five, I can guarantee I would not have been chosen.
- 20:42Speaker 3: I was a little bit of an asshole, you know,
- 20:45Speaker 3: like I lived in a much more selfish lifestyle, Like
- 20:47Speaker 3: I didn't think about other people and how my actions
- 20:49Speaker 3: were going to affect them. And so I don't know,
- 20:52Speaker 3: something happened when I turned twenty five and I just
- 20:54Speaker 3: kind of grew up. I mean everything else just felt
- 20:56Speaker 3: like I was living a very childish life. And so
- 20:58Speaker 3: I really worked hard to become the person and that
- 21:00Speaker 3: everybody saw on Jerry Duty. So no, I would say I.
- 21:02Speaker 2: Have not always been like this well done, because I
- 21:06Speaker 2: would have lost my ship. Several times. I would have
- 21:09Speaker 2: been I would have requested, please, I don't this is crazy.
- 21:12Speaker 2: Everything that's I would have been like, this is bizarro world. Yo.
- 21:16Speaker 2: You guys are all nuts. But here's the one thing.
- 21:18Speaker 2: When I saw Kurt Fox, that's the that's where, because
- 21:22Speaker 2: I know I would have been like, hey, wait a second,
- 21:25Speaker 2: I know that guy. Oh, Kurt and I did a
- 21:28Speaker 2: fucking we did a prank show with the same people
- 21:33Speaker 2: who created punk back in the day, and that's how
- 21:35Speaker 2: I met him. And so when I saw him on
- 21:38Speaker 2: the show, I was like, wait a second, you got
- 21:42Speaker 2: a lot of people. Clearly nobody watched the show that
- 21:44Speaker 2: I was on, first of all, right, and I was like,
- 21:50Speaker 2: that guy right there is a professional and he's really
- 21:52Speaker 2: good at freaking pranking people.
- 21:54Speaker 1: Yeah. No, So let's just go back to the very beginning.
- 21:57Speaker 1: How did you how did you how did this come
- 22:02Speaker 1: into your life? I mean, I know I read that
- 22:03Speaker 1: you were looking for some work on Craigslist, like some
- 22:06Speaker 1: part time work.
- 22:08Speaker 3: Yeah, So what had happened was I moved to San
- 22:10Speaker 3: Diego in twenty nineteen, and I've been in construction since
- 22:13Speaker 3: I was seventeen, and so I didn't necessarily switch industries,
- 22:16Speaker 3: but I was brand new to the solar world in general,
- 22:19Speaker 3: so I kind of threw myself into that. I was
- 22:21Speaker 3: a contractor, an independent contractor, doing just solar work for years,
- 22:25Speaker 3: and I mean I'm talking twelve fifteen hour days. Like
- 22:28Speaker 3: I was like really grinding trying to make it work.
- 22:30Speaker 3: But I just burnt myself out, essentially, And so one
- 22:33Speaker 3: day I talked to my business partner, we reevaluated kind
- 22:35Speaker 3: of what we wanted to do with our lives. We
- 22:37Speaker 3: shut down shop, and then I was essentially just kind
- 22:39Speaker 3: of looking for the next gig. And so I didn't
- 22:42Speaker 3: have search preferences. I was just looking for just anything
- 22:45Speaker 3: and everything, because, like I said, just was burnt out.
- 22:48Speaker 3: I came across this in my mind, this was a
- 22:51Speaker 3: great way for me to get paid, to have an
- 22:53Speaker 3: experience I'd never had, and then in my free time
- 22:55Speaker 3: I could still job search, not knowing they were going
- 22:58Speaker 3: to take away.
- 22:58Speaker 1: So what did I say? Sorry to interrupt you, but
- 23:00Speaker 1: what did it say in the in the ad? Because
- 23:04Speaker 1: I mean, was there any question in your mind, like
- 23:06Speaker 1: we are they allowed to make a documentary about a jury?
- 23:09Speaker 1: Like I think I would have I would have said, like,
- 23:11Speaker 1: well that sounds interesting, but like how are you legally
- 23:13Speaker 1: allowed to make a documentary about a jury?
- 23:16Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 23:17Speaker 3: So I definitely had questions like that. But man, the
- 23:20Speaker 3: preparation for this show years literal years in the making,
- 23:24Speaker 3: and so the way that they described it to me
- 23:26Speaker 3: was that this was the judge's last case of his
- 23:29Speaker 3: like thirty eight year trial and that was the only
- 23:31Speaker 3: reason he was allowing them to do it. They had
- 23:32Speaker 3: tried before, they had never gotten access. But this judge
- 23:34Speaker 3: was like, you know what, this is going to be
- 23:36Speaker 3: my swan song if you will.
- 23:37Speaker 1: And so I met you meant career, you said trial
- 23:40Speaker 1: his thirty eight year old career.
- 23:41Speaker 2: Career.
- 23:42Speaker 1: Yeah, career, And so that's that's they presented it where
- 23:45Speaker 1: they were going to do a special dock on this
- 23:47Speaker 1: on this judge really more of like.
- 23:50Speaker 3: The jury process, but it was more of like since
- 23:52Speaker 3: the judge was like, hay as my last hurrah, I'll allow.
- 23:54Speaker 2: This nice and anybody could be picked for the Like
- 23:57Speaker 2: how did they you know? Any You're all just picked.
- 24:00Speaker 2: We've already got the jury. He's allowed these people to
- 24:02Speaker 2: come in.
- 24:03Speaker 3: Not necessarily, so you did have to go through the
- 24:05Speaker 3: jury selection process. So there were some people that I
- 24:08Speaker 3: was told that were there because they had signed up
- 24:10Speaker 3: for the same thing that I did, and then other
- 24:11Speaker 3: people were just summoned. So that's why everyone's like, I
- 24:13Speaker 3: don't want to be here. How do I get out
- 24:14Speaker 3: of here? Because those were like the people who were summoned.
- 24:17Speaker 7: Wow.
- 24:19Speaker 1: Man, Now okay, So, as I recall, you get into
- 24:23Speaker 1: the you're in the waiting room and the first and
- 24:26Speaker 1: you recognize Marsden and you really and you're really keeeked out,
- 24:31Speaker 1: and and then then you you you you said something
- 24:37Speaker 1: to him about like, what was the thing that we
- 24:39Speaker 1: said about Sonic? I forgot.
- 24:44Speaker 3: Look, I mean, like I told him, didn't you.
- 24:48Speaker 1: Kind of diss him about Sonic?
- 24:51Speaker 3: I told him very honestly the reviews that I had heard,
- 24:55Speaker 3: and then it was kind of a shit movie, you.
- 24:57Speaker 2: Know, well for movies later and Jim Carrey and everything.
- 25:04Speaker 3: Look, I did until my foot in my mouth, I
- 25:06Speaker 3: admitted it. I watched it. It was a great movie.
- 25:08Speaker 3: I've seen the other one.
- 25:11Speaker 1: It's so funny now, I these people that they cast
- 25:17Speaker 1: were so funny and and and it's all I mean.
- 25:21Speaker 1: I watched the ending episode where they showed how they
- 25:24Speaker 1: did it, so it was all improvised, but they did
- 25:28Speaker 1: have sort of a rough sketch of what was going
- 25:31Speaker 1: to happen by when is that correct?
- 25:33Speaker 2: Yeah?
- 25:33Speaker 3: Essentially, the way that they told me was that they
- 25:36Speaker 3: kind of had like a skeleton script where you had
- 25:38Speaker 3: your main beast that you had to hit, and then
- 25:40Speaker 3: whatever else happened in between, you just got to think
- 25:42Speaker 3: on your.
- 25:43Speaker 1: Feet and okay, so then Marsden, you go in the trout. Marsden.
- 25:48Speaker 1: They have this story point where the popa Rugby are
- 25:53Speaker 1: stalking Marsden and so they're gonna need to sequester the jury. Now,
- 26:01Speaker 1: I can't believe that you guys are down for this.
- 26:03Speaker 1: I mean, I guess, I mean and they and then
- 26:05Speaker 1: in hindsight, they very cleverly said, we're we're gonna separate
- 26:09Speaker 1: you and Marsden because he's Marsden has a special marshal
- 26:12Speaker 1: that's gonna go home with him, and he's so bad
- 26:15Speaker 1: shit crazy. But but that this enabled them to only
- 26:18Speaker 1: have to pay and shoot and put up a couple
- 26:21Speaker 1: people around you, right, correct.
- 26:23Speaker 3: And I will say that's probably actually the only time
- 26:26Speaker 3: that I got mad was like, because I knew that
- 26:29Speaker 3: it was Marsden's fault and he like they made it
- 26:31Speaker 3: very like nothing that they did was subtle. They made
- 26:34Speaker 3: it very obvious to me that he was going to
- 26:36Speaker 3: call the paparazzi. So I was pissed that he was
- 26:38Speaker 3: the reason that I got taken from my other hotels sequestered,
- 26:41Speaker 3: and he wasn't even gonna stay with us, Like I
- 26:43Speaker 3: was a little bit irritated for sure.
- 26:46Speaker 1: Right now.
- 26:47Speaker 2: You never wanted out. You never were like just fucking
- 26:50Speaker 2: I'm done. Well.
- 26:51Speaker 3: So the reason, one of the reasons that we did
- 26:53Speaker 3: the daily video diary from myself, I thought everyone else
- 26:57Speaker 3: was doing them too, was so that they could kind
- 26:59Speaker 3: of gauge like my men mental health as well too,
- 27:01Speaker 3: and like where I was at and how I was doing.
- 27:02Speaker 3: And if I'm sitting here on camera saying like, oh
- 27:05Speaker 3: my god, I'm I just want to get out here.
- 27:06Speaker 3: I'm going to walk out of this, like they would
- 27:07Speaker 3: have made adjustments. So it was more to like gauge
- 27:10Speaker 3: how I was doing every day.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, so they took your phone everything.
- 27:16Speaker 3: I had no access to the outside world. I could
- 27:19Speaker 3: make phone calls if I wanted to that were being
- 27:22Speaker 3: monitored by, you know, a sheriff. It was just part
- 27:26Speaker 3: of the production group.
- 27:27Speaker 1: Oh my god, what was So anytime you wait and
- 27:30Speaker 1: when anytime you made a call, they told you a
- 27:33Speaker 1: sheriff was on the line, and then they just had
- 27:37Speaker 1: someone production make sure you weren't like, I think this
- 27:39Speaker 1: is fake, right, well, like they.
- 27:40Speaker 3: Were in the room with me. Because they're wearing the
- 27:42Speaker 3: sheriffs get up. You know, it looks like they're the
- 27:44Speaker 3: actual deputy. They've got something in their ears to.
- 27:47Speaker 1: Believe this isn't illegal. I mean, I had this reaction,
- 27:51Speaker 1: and I said this to Marsan. Actually, I was like,
- 27:53Speaker 1: don't you. First of all, it was amazing television, but
- 27:56Speaker 1: what about the scruples of doing this to someone. I mean,
- 28:00Speaker 1: I think it's I enjoyed it, and I'm glad that
- 28:02Speaker 1: you're the kindest person in the world, but I'm kind
- 28:05Speaker 1: of like, this is fucked up to do to somebody.
- 28:08Speaker 2: What was the name? I'm sorry to cut you off
- 28:10Speaker 2: because I got to ask this really quick.
- 28:12Speaker 1: You don't want him to answer that you you over
- 28:14Speaker 1: that question?
- 28:15Speaker 2: No, I'm not. But it's because it's like the same
- 28:17Speaker 2: thing and how Jim Carrey reacted to it. What was
- 28:19Speaker 2: that movie Truman Show?
- 28:21Speaker 1: Truman Show?
- 28:22Speaker 2: Didn't you feel I mean like when watching that, I
- 28:28Speaker 2: felt like I was watching that movie like at some
- 28:31Speaker 2: point in your life, as Zach said, you know, how
- 28:36Speaker 2: did how do you how do you not say you
- 28:39Speaker 2: guys fucking picked on me for fucking, you know, essentially
- 28:43Speaker 2: a whole show and made fun of me for a
- 28:45Speaker 2: whole show.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Well, they didn't really make fun of him. I mean
- 28:48Speaker 1: he made He's made out to look like the kindest,
- 28:51Speaker 1: coolest person in the world.
- 28:53Speaker 2: No doubt, but in doing so they you know, I mean.
- 28:58Speaker 1: Let him go.
- 29:00Speaker 3: No, no, I mean, honestly, both of you guys bring
- 29:02Speaker 3: up great points. And I'm actually really glad that you
- 29:04Speaker 3: brought up the Truman Show too, because the way I
- 29:06Speaker 3: was describing it in the beginning to people was I
- 29:08Speaker 3: got Truman, showed I'm Truman essentially, and then that follow
- 29:12Speaker 3: up question always inevitably comes, well then how did you
- 29:15Speaker 3: handle it? Mentally? And the way that I can separate
- 29:17Speaker 3: this for people is that Jim Carrey and the Truman
- 29:19Speaker 3: Show that was his whole life thirty plus years. This
- 29:22Speaker 3: was three weeks of my life. And so granted that
- 29:25Speaker 3: may seem like, you know, a large amount of time
- 29:26Speaker 3: to do something, but in the grand scheme of things,
- 29:28Speaker 3: it wasn't like a very long period. And I like
- 29:31Speaker 3: to think I have a pretty good sense of humor.
- 29:32Speaker 3: I pranked my siblings, my friends, relatives growing up all
- 29:36Speaker 3: the time, so if anything, this is just karma. So
- 29:39Speaker 3: that's kind of how I viewed it. Plus, it was
- 29:40Speaker 3: a great experience.
- 29:42Speaker 2: Let's take a break.
- 29:42Speaker 1: We'll be right back after these fine words. That No,
- 29:52Speaker 1: it also looked like, as I recall, it's been a
- 29:54Speaker 1: minute since I saw it, but it kind of looked
- 29:56Speaker 1: like you were having fun. Like you know, there's times
- 29:58Speaker 1: where I'm sure it was so fun you watching your
- 30:00Speaker 1: facial expressions, but it's it also looked like, you know,
- 30:05Speaker 1: I've almost been selected for jury dude a couple times,
- 30:07Speaker 1: and I'm always like, oh, please don't pick me, Please
- 30:08Speaker 1: don't pick me. But there's a little part of me
- 30:10Speaker 1: that's like, this would be kind of interesting, you know,
- 30:13Speaker 1: And was there a part of you that's like, this
- 30:15Speaker 1: is crazy, but it's kind of interesting, right.
- 30:18Speaker 3: One thousand percent. Like when I agreed to do this,
- 30:21Speaker 3: though I knew that I was going to be on camera,
- 30:23Speaker 3: it was my first time ever being on camera outside
- 30:26Speaker 3: of you know, home videos we made growing up so
- 30:29Speaker 3: I and plus I live documentaries. So to me, I
- 30:31Speaker 3: was like, this is a great way to have a
- 30:32Speaker 3: new experience. They're gonna pay me some money for it.
- 30:35Speaker 3: And then when I got sequestered, I wasn't happy about it,
- 30:37Speaker 3: but again, it's just like, well, I'm here for an
- 30:39Speaker 3: experience and that's exactly what I'm getting.
- 30:42Speaker 1: Yeah, that's how I feel like if I ever got
- 30:44Speaker 1: on a jury. I don't really I'm always afraid because
- 30:46Speaker 1: I almost got put on a murder trial. And I
- 30:48Speaker 1: was like and they were like this forever yeah, And
- 30:51Speaker 1: I was in the room. I remember we went down
- 30:52Speaker 1: to you know, and we live in LA so I
- 30:54Speaker 1: was down in the fucking when you go to the
- 30:56Speaker 1: LA Downtown courthouse there you go through security in the lobby.
- 31:01Speaker 1: But if you get put on I forgot what floor
- 31:03Speaker 1: it is. Uh, let's say it's five, you go through
- 31:05Speaker 1: another round of security, because that's the fucking murder floor.
- 31:09Speaker 1: And I went up there to for for jury selection
- 31:13Speaker 1: for a trial, and I walk in and it's the
- 31:15Speaker 1: fucking OJ room. It's the fucking thing We've seen on
- 31:18Speaker 1: TV a thousand times. It's that room. And I'm like, oh, no,
- 31:22Speaker 1: I can't get put on a murder trial. This is
- 31:24Speaker 1: gonna be no.
- 31:31Speaker 3: No.
- 31:31Speaker 1: It was like the room like if you've ever watched
- 31:34Speaker 1: like I mean, we all remember OJ, but if you
- 31:37Speaker 1: have ever watched like, you know this this this room
- 31:40Speaker 1: has been created us in so many sets because it's
- 31:42Speaker 1: like the murder trial room for La County or whatever.
- 31:46Speaker 1: And uh and then they were like, you know, just
- 31:50Speaker 1: the judge is preparing everyone. He's just so you know,
- 31:52Speaker 1: this is a murder first degree trial. This could be
- 31:55Speaker 1: up to, you know, four months of your life. I
- 31:58Speaker 1: was like, oh, well, I got to get out of here,
- 32:03Speaker 1: but they didn't pick me, so I never had to.
- 32:05Speaker 2: Uh you did you purpose?
- 32:10Speaker 1: Oh my god, what's crazy? Is anyone who's ever gone
- 32:13Speaker 1: for Jerry duty. You won't believe the ship that people
- 32:16Speaker 1: say to try and get out of.
- 32:17Speaker 2: This duty today.
- 32:20Speaker 1: Well, so many people, I mean, it just takes so long.
- 32:24Speaker 1: And you're rolling your eyes because you're like, there's so
- 32:26Speaker 1: many people. There's plenty of people obviously who have good excuses.
- 32:29Speaker 1: I have to take care of my children, or I'm
- 32:30Speaker 1: a soul provider, all those legitimate. Sure's lots of people
- 32:33Speaker 1: in LA who don't speak English fluently that they need
- 32:36Speaker 1: to be released because they're not going to be able
- 32:37Speaker 1: to be a proper jurist. But then you get to
- 32:41Speaker 1: the people that are like spewing bullshit and you're like, oh,
- 32:44Speaker 1: come on, they're like, you know, the most common thing
- 32:49Speaker 1: is like I hate cops and I can't judge cops fairly,
- 32:53Speaker 1: and if there's cops testifying, I won't be able to
- 32:55Speaker 1: listen to them, so don't pick me.
- 33:01Speaker 3: It's like the police.
- 33:02Speaker 1: Yeah, And I'm like, I don't get me wrong. I'm
- 33:05Speaker 1: sure there's people that legit feel that way, but that
- 33:07Speaker 1: was like a very common thing, and I was like, oh,
- 33:10Speaker 1: come on, come.
- 33:10Speaker 2: On, you get an easy way out.
- 33:12Speaker 1: Yeah, it worked every time because the judge would judge
- 33:15Speaker 1: has to be calm, and he's like, so you're saying,
- 33:17Speaker 1: you know, obviously we will be having some detectives and
- 33:20Speaker 1: some policemen testifying. Are you saying jur number five that
- 33:24Speaker 1: you will be unable to, uh, you know, listen to
- 33:27Speaker 1: them and take in their testimony with an open mind.
- 33:30Speaker 1: And people like, hell, no, I hate cops, and they're
- 33:35Speaker 1: like you are dismissed.
- 33:39Speaker 2: Geez oh no, I feel like I feel like I
- 33:49Speaker 2: feel like the person that tries to use that in
- 33:52Speaker 2: the wrong situation is even funnier.
- 33:54Speaker 1: Like I know what's funny is there's that sheriff that's
- 33:56Speaker 1: in there, you know, like the bailiff, and he's like staring.
- 33:59Speaker 2: At everyone, let me take numbers down.
- 34:02Speaker 1: Another one was like Another one was, you know a
- 34:05Speaker 1: lot of people, you know they have the right not
- 34:06Speaker 1: to testify. Another common one and this is just anecdotal
- 34:09Speaker 1: from my experience. Anyone who's been through this, I'm sure
- 34:11Speaker 1: you have crazy stories too. But another one was people
- 34:14Speaker 1: being like they were like the judge were like, now,
- 34:17Speaker 1: the defendant does not have to testify. It is not
- 34:20Speaker 1: he is not obligated to testify. How will you feel
- 34:23Speaker 1: if the defendant does not get on the stand to
- 34:26Speaker 1: tell his or her side of the story.
- 34:28Speaker 2: I want to hear from the defendant.
- 34:29Speaker 1: Yeah, A lot of people are like if I only
- 34:31Speaker 1: from the defendant, I think it's bullshit. I think he's
- 34:33Speaker 1: hid and shit, I will not be able to fairly
- 34:34Speaker 1: judge this kid.
- 34:37Speaker 3: Look that it's actually valid, Like the cop thing. Get
- 34:41Speaker 3: a little bit of a stretch, but that's valid. I
- 34:42Speaker 3: would actually stand on and die on.
- 34:44Speaker 1: That hill, like if I mean, I think it's fair
- 34:47Speaker 1: to say as I as I felt. I understand the
- 34:50Speaker 1: legal process. I understand the right not to incriminate yourself,
- 34:54Speaker 1: but yes, if you were accused and you don't testify,
- 34:57Speaker 1: I think I would have trouble being like, well, why
- 34:59Speaker 1: the hell not? If you're interesting, why wouldn't you get
- 35:01Speaker 1: up there and be like I didn't fucking do it? Yep,
- 35:04Speaker 1: but I understand it all.
- 35:06Speaker 3: I mean, always stripping down.
- 35:10Speaker 1: Look at that, Ronald's Yeah, we should probably segue quickly
- 35:15Speaker 1: to how has this affected your love life? Because you
- 35:18Speaker 1: are a handsome man. The world used you as an
- 35:23Speaker 1: example of being the kindest uh man they've ever seen.
- 35:27Speaker 1: What were the dms? Like, ron what went down on
- 35:31Speaker 1: the dms?
- 35:32Speaker 3: It was wild? And I will say this too was
- 35:35Speaker 3: I was never on social media very much to begin with.
- 35:38Speaker 3: The Actually, the only reason I even had an Instagram
- 35:40Speaker 3: was for like it was for business related purposes. I
- 35:43Speaker 3: didn't even create an Instagram until I moved to San Diego,
- 35:46Speaker 3: and the only reason I did it was because my
- 35:47Speaker 3: mentor advised it. You know, He's like, look, you can
- 35:49Speaker 3: get a lot of business from social media and blah
- 35:50Speaker 3: blah blah. So having not really been on it at all,
- 35:53Speaker 3: and then the whirlwind that my life became, I'm not
- 35:56Speaker 3: exaggerating when I tell you that there are tens of
- 35:58Speaker 3: thousands of messages that I've never even scene, like, I
- 36:01Speaker 3: have no interest in going back that far and looking
- 36:03Speaker 3: at this point, but like it all happened so fast
- 36:05Speaker 3: and so quickly on average, because I sat down on
- 36:08Speaker 3: Instagram's team, I gained fifty thousand followers permanent for six months.
- 36:14Speaker 1: Wow, fifty thousand followers a month for six months.
- 36:17Speaker 3: For six months.
- 36:18Speaker 1: Instagram called him into the office Donald, They're.
- 36:22Speaker 3: Bring him in, They said, this is our influencer program.
- 36:25Speaker 3: What're you gonna do?
- 36:27Speaker 1: Yeah? So are you doing?
- 36:28Speaker 3: Like?
- 36:28Speaker 1: How do you? I saw that you got an Amazon deal?
- 36:31Speaker 1: What the congratulations? That's incredible and and I'm not surprised
- 36:35Speaker 1: because you are so likable and charming and I and
- 36:40Speaker 1: I'm sure that they were like, let's find something for
- 36:43Speaker 1: you to do because people really really responded to you.
- 36:47Speaker 1: And would that be something as an actor? Would it
- 36:49Speaker 1: be hosting a show?
- 36:50Speaker 2: So I was gonna say, I'm surprised you're gonna becoming
- 36:52Speaker 2: You're not an You're not an actor, man. You were
- 36:54Speaker 2: part of the biggest improvisational experiment, uh in the last
- 36:59Speaker 2: ten years, So what's up?
- 37:01Speaker 3: Bro?
- 37:02Speaker 1: I know, but I also feel like you could be
- 37:03Speaker 1: a great if you if it wasn't that, I feel
- 37:05Speaker 1: like you'd be a good host of a show or something.
- 37:07Speaker 1: I don't know what's happening. It's a top secret or
- 37:09Speaker 1: can you talk about it?
- 37:10Speaker 3: No, you guys are right on the money there. So
- 37:13Speaker 3: we're exploring different shows where I'm hosting doing improv. So
- 37:17Speaker 3: I'm really heavily leaning into that. I've auditioned for some
- 37:20Speaker 3: things and I am taking acting classes, but I just
- 37:23Speaker 3: don't think that I'm an actor. I was never passionate
- 37:25Speaker 3: about it then, like I'm not passionate about it now.
- 37:27Speaker 3: Improv is kind of the world I'm really leaning into.
- 37:30Speaker 3: And a lot of the feedback I've gotten from people
- 37:32Speaker 3: in the improv world who watch the show was there,
- 37:34Speaker 3: like you already lived the yes and lifestyle, so why
- 37:37Speaker 3: not lean into it? And I mean, I realize that
- 37:39Speaker 3: that's so true. So if I'm going to be an actor,
- 37:41Speaker 3: it would be an improv actor if anything.
- 37:43Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I would encourg you moved to la
- 37:45Speaker 1: I assume correct. Yeah, I would be taking lots of
- 37:48Speaker 1: improv classes because you're You're in the city where that
- 37:51Speaker 1: has some of the best troops in the in the world,
- 37:55Speaker 1: and I'm just I would lean in and people are
- 37:57Speaker 1: going to love you because they know who you are.
- 37:59Speaker 1: And I mean, weren't all of those cast members improv people.
- 38:06Speaker 3: Yeah, so I've actually been doing shows with UCB. My
- 38:10Speaker 3: girlfriend actually just went through the Groundlings program and now
- 38:12Speaker 3: she's taking ucb's program. She just did like a stand
- 38:15Speaker 3: up class. So like, I'm definitely entertaining these avenues and
- 38:19Speaker 3: it's just a matter of finding the right vehicle. We're working.
- 38:21Speaker 3: It's too early to give concrete details because we had
- 38:24Speaker 3: to wait for David Bernad to finish filming White Lotus three.
- 38:27Speaker 3: Now that he's back, we're kind of working on some stuff,
- 38:29Speaker 3: but we're trying to kick it off.
- 38:32Speaker 1: I think I really I root for you, man. I
- 38:35Speaker 1: feel like I would watch that. By the way, the funniest,
- 38:38Speaker 1: one of the funniest, hardest parts I laughed is the
- 38:41Speaker 1: influencer woman who got on the stage. I just saw her.
- 38:44Speaker 1: Do you remember her donald She talks about how she's
- 38:47Speaker 1: she's she runs social media and she's an influencer, but
- 38:50Speaker 1: she's also a nail tech and she does social media
- 38:52Speaker 1: for her dog, and she had this run. I didn't
- 38:55Speaker 1: I'd never seen her before. I've since seen her in
- 38:57Speaker 1: an improv troupe.
- 39:00Speaker 3: And Lisa Gilroy thank.
- 39:01Speaker 1: You Lisa Gilroy. I want to give her a shout out.
- 39:06Speaker 1: She came in and just did one improvised monologue in
- 39:10Speaker 1: the in the in the witness box, and I thought
- 39:14Speaker 1: that was one of the funniest things I saw on
- 39:15Speaker 1: TV the whole year and I had never seen her,
- 39:18Speaker 1: And then since my friend brought me to see a
- 39:20Speaker 1: great improv troop at Largo and she was one of
- 39:23Speaker 1: the gals and she was fucking hilarious.
- 39:27Speaker 3: So I was blessed enough to actually be a part
- 39:29Speaker 3: of what.
- 39:30Speaker 1: I should train with her. Yeah, because that's that troop
- 39:33Speaker 1: that she's with. Do you know their name?
- 39:35Speaker 3: I don't know. Does she have the same troop because
- 39:37Speaker 3: I met a few people, I don't know them.
- 39:40Speaker 1: For me, I want to see if you can find
- 39:42Speaker 1: the name of her troop because it's got some other
- 39:43Speaker 1: celebrities in it. I think Rob Cordrey maybe, but she's
- 39:47Speaker 1: that troop. If you ever get a chance to see
- 39:49Speaker 1: them in LA I know they perform all over they Uh.
- 39:52Speaker 1: It was one of the funniest things I've ever seen,
- 39:54Speaker 1: because I've never really seen too much a list improv troops.
- 39:57Speaker 1: I've been to one who were like, okay, thanks, that
- 40:01Speaker 1: doesn't sound right.
- 40:02Speaker 3: The one I did with her was Lisa Gilroy and friends.
- 40:05Speaker 3: But that's what I'm saying. I don't know if they
- 40:06Speaker 3: keep the same friends every time. I don't really know
- 40:08Speaker 3: how that works.
- 40:09Speaker 1: No, I know this one. Rob Wriggle was in it. Joelle.
- 40:12Speaker 2: That's a fucking deep troop right there.
- 40:15Speaker 1: Now, I'm telling you. It was like the A List troop.
- 40:18Speaker 1: I mean they had they were doing like Largo Saturday
- 40:20Speaker 1: Night at eight. It was like the key spot.
- 40:24Speaker 2: There are a couple of troops that are like that. Like, uh,
- 40:29Speaker 2: Philamar's troop is pretty fucking dope too.
- 40:32Speaker 1: If I could get Donald to do yes, I think
- 40:34Speaker 1: it was called Dinosaur. That sounds right.
- 40:37Speaker 2: Let's take a break.
- 40:38Speaker 1: We'll be right back after these fine words. Oh my god, wait,
- 40:47Speaker 1: we have to talk about the soaking thing because this
- 40:50Speaker 1: is the funniest fucking thing. Did you make it to that?
- 40:52Speaker 1: Did you see that part?
- 40:53Speaker 2: Donald? Okay?
- 40:55Speaker 1: So so basically, ron you go by Ronald run Ronald,
- 41:01Speaker 1: Thank you, Ronald, Ronald, Please correct me if I if
- 41:04Speaker 1: I if I get any this wrong. In the in
- 41:06Speaker 1: the Mormon uh world, some people allegedly get around the
- 41:14Speaker 1: fact that they're not supposed to be having premarital sex
- 41:18Speaker 1: by having someone put there. The man put his penis
- 41:23Speaker 1: in the vagina, but they don't move. That doesn't because
- 41:25Speaker 1: they're not having sex. And then they have a friend
- 41:28Speaker 1: jump on the bed, so they're not technically causing the movement.
- 41:33Speaker 1: Is this correct, Ronald?
- 41:35Speaker 3: You nailed it when it was pitched to me.
- 41:40Speaker 1: It's called soaking real time.
- 41:43Speaker 3: That was the first time I had heard of it too,
- 41:44Speaker 3: and that's why I was like, I think I'm good
- 41:47Speaker 3: on this one, you know.
- 41:49Speaker 1: And they ask they asked Ronald if he will facilitate
- 41:54Speaker 1: for them and be the jumper.
- 41:56Speaker 2: Jumper.
- 41:56Speaker 3: Yeah, that's that's what I said in a polite manner,
- 42:02Speaker 3: but that's exactly what I said to No.
- 42:05Speaker 1: I mean, were you at all curious? I mean, I
- 42:07Speaker 1: wouldn't want to be the jumper either, But was there
- 42:10Speaker 1: a part of you that's like, wow.
- 42:11Speaker 2: Are you what would you prefer to be in this situation?
- 42:14Speaker 1: No, I'm not. I don't want to be.
- 42:17Speaker 3: He was.
- 42:18Speaker 1: He was. He was asked to be the jumper, and
- 42:21Speaker 1: I just think it be so I'm sure I would
- 42:23Speaker 1: have said no too, But a part of um been like, Wow,
- 42:26Speaker 1: what a life experience these two Mormon people. Actually only
- 42:30Speaker 1: one is a Mormon, right, only one?
- 42:32Speaker 3: Look, I was I was happy to facilitate everything up
- 42:36Speaker 3: until that.
- 42:37Speaker 1: That's the only thing you said no to.
- 42:39Speaker 3: Yeah, I was like, I'm all about helping my buddies
- 42:41Speaker 3: out like whatever. I was like. But to that point,
- 42:43Speaker 3: I was like, I just like you guys could figure
- 42:45Speaker 3: it out from there, you know, like you shouldn't need
- 42:47Speaker 3: a third wheel in the room.
- 42:49Speaker 1: Okay, Mormon to have oral sex before well, Ronald a
- 42:54Speaker 1: specialist in Mormon sex dude Joel, yea, I.
- 42:58Speaker 2: Was going to say, would you be behind the head,
- 43:00Speaker 2: like putting back to Joel?
- 43:01Speaker 1: Can you can you look like, can you google what search?
- 43:07Speaker 1: Can you just ask what I'm gonna imagine I would imagine.
- 43:10Speaker 1: My guess is Mormons are not allowed to have primaro sex.
- 43:13Speaker 2: And this oral sex? But what about well, can you
- 43:15Speaker 2: look up whether oral sex at this stuff count?
- 43:19Speaker 1: Can you look up if but stuff counts? Please?
- 43:21Speaker 3: My God, Yeah, these are valid questions because you can
- 43:25Speaker 3: off God.
- 43:26Speaker 1: No, I don't want to. I want to get it right.
- 43:28Speaker 1: I don't want to. I want to make sure we know.
- 43:30Speaker 1: And what about butt soaking? Is that permitted.
- 43:36Speaker 3: Category? R?
- 43:38Speaker 1: I P R I p did Joel's Google? All right, wait,
- 43:42Speaker 1: while well does the recon. The other funny thing was
- 43:47Speaker 1: the giant ship that Marten took in your How did
- 43:52Speaker 1: they get a fake ship in there?
- 43:54Speaker 3: That one was tough. So the way they got that
- 43:57Speaker 3: one in there was because that was when I went
- 43:59Speaker 3: down to wingman initially. That's why I said, up until
- 44:02Speaker 3: the soakine, I was happy to help out. Yeah, I'm
- 44:06Speaker 3: happy to wingman for him. I wanted to see him
- 44:08Speaker 3: get laid. I'm not gonna lie on that one.
- 44:10Speaker 1: You want, because he was being such a good wing
- 44:14Speaker 1: man up until they asked him just to be the
- 44:16Speaker 1: jumper on the jump on that. But then he goes
- 44:19Speaker 1: back up to his room and can't explain to people
- 44:21Speaker 1: who forgot what happened.
- 44:22Speaker 2: So when I went.
- 44:23Speaker 3: Down there to wingman for him and then you know,
- 44:25Speaker 3: handed him off, thought everything was finding dandy. I was
- 44:27Speaker 3: down there for a little bit. I go back up
- 44:28Speaker 3: there and James is trying to play it off like
- 44:31Speaker 3: he was just ping the whole time, and so I
- 44:33Speaker 3: walk in there and immediately the smell hits me, Like immediately,
- 44:36Speaker 3: I'm just like, oh god, you want kind of looking
- 44:38Speaker 3: around and he's like yeah, man, He's like, I was
- 44:40Speaker 3: trying to go in there. He's like, but I couldn't really.
- 44:41Speaker 3: There was like, you know, the toilet was like clogged,
- 44:43Speaker 3: and I was like, well, I know it wasn't clogged,
- 44:45Speaker 3: but if so, I opened the door and just yeah,
- 44:48Speaker 3: a massive ship. It's a prop obviously, but it's huge.
- 44:52Speaker 2: Wait, it was smell.
- 44:55Speaker 3: So what they did was they used like a stink
- 44:58Speaker 3: spray and the reason that it was overwhelming was because
- 45:01Speaker 3: James sprayed a little bit of it and then didn't
- 45:03Speaker 3: smell it. So he's like, well, let me spray some more.
- 45:05Speaker 3: But it was just like a delayed thing and then
- 45:07Speaker 3: it all just hit it once and he's like, oh
- 45:09Speaker 3: my god, this.
- 45:10Speaker 1: Is it really smelled like shit.
- 45:12Speaker 3: It was more like almost like because I'm from the
- 45:14Speaker 3: country to Oregon market, it almost was like like a manure,
- 45:17Speaker 3: like a farm animal smell that. So I was like,
- 45:20Speaker 3: what the fuck is going on?
- 45:21Speaker 1: So then wait, then the plumber comes up right and
- 45:25Speaker 1: the handyman, and James asked you to say it was
- 45:28Speaker 1: your ship.
- 45:29Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 45:30Speaker 3: He wanted me to take the blame because when he's like,
- 45:32Speaker 3: I don't want like TMZ to get a hold of
- 45:34Speaker 3: this and James and shit.
- 45:40Speaker 2: And and to be fair, the.
- 45:42Speaker 3: Vain character that James was playing that tracks.
- 45:45Speaker 2: That definitely tracks.
- 45:46Speaker 3: Yeah, can't have bad media, you know.
- 45:49Speaker 1: James was so fucking funny. I mean I loved everything
- 45:53Speaker 1: he did. He made me laugh so much. I mean,
- 45:57Speaker 1: I'm so happy that he said yes to it because
- 45:59Speaker 1: this was such that's a low budget thing on free V.
- 46:02Speaker 1: I mean, like I need no one knew what free
- 46:04Speaker 1: V was, and I just thought that I was so
- 46:09Speaker 1: stoked that James did it because he couldn't have. No
- 46:12Speaker 1: one could have done that a funnier job than he did.
- 46:16Speaker 3: Well. I was just gonna say like that added to
- 46:17Speaker 3: the realism of it too, because in my mind, I
- 46:20Speaker 3: know who James is, and I'm a big fan.
- 46:22Speaker 1: I'm like, this is a guy except Personic, dude, except
- 46:24Speaker 1: for Sonic.
- 46:25Speaker 3: That's true. Yeah, But he's been doing this, you know,
- 46:28Speaker 3: since X Men, like thirty plus years he's been in
- 46:31Speaker 3: the game. So in my mind, I'm like, why would
- 46:33Speaker 3: somebody oh yeah before X but even too. But in
- 46:35Speaker 3: my mind I'm thinking, like, why would somebody who has
- 46:37Speaker 3: such this illustrious career like drag their own name through
- 46:41Speaker 3: the dirt. He knew he was being filmed and he
- 46:42Speaker 3: was acting like a jackass. So I was like, this
- 46:44Speaker 3: has to just be who he is.
- 46:46Speaker 2: Uh, do you want an answer to the oral sex question?
- 46:48Speaker 1: Yeah, go back to Heylan.
- 46:51Speaker 5: It's vague but mostly forbidden before marriage. Church's at Chastity
- 46:56Speaker 5: says that sexual relations are only proper between a legally
- 46:58Speaker 5: married husband and wife. However, some say that and enjoying
- 47:01Speaker 5: sex within marriage is aligned with the face theology.
- 47:04Speaker 1: Right, we need the obvious. You can't you can't be
- 47:06Speaker 1: having sex, so you can't do but sex.
- 47:09Speaker 3: No.
- 47:09Speaker 1: But so I think the idea behind soaking was that
- 47:13Speaker 1: it was a work around because the participants who do
- 47:16Speaker 1: soaking say, well, we're not having sex, We're just I'm
- 47:19Speaker 1: soaking inside of you. And it's not my fault that
- 47:23Speaker 1: James Marriston is jumping on the bed.
- 47:25Speaker 3: Yeah, it's it's like an outside force. Imagine that you're
- 47:28Speaker 3: inside lady. Yeah, and there's earthquak yeah, and it just
- 47:31Speaker 3: it just so happens that there's movement.
- 47:33Speaker 2: Yeah, but what happens when the movement causes.
- 47:37Speaker 1: Yeah, well that's an extra problem. Then the person who's
- 47:40Speaker 1: jumping is too good.
- 47:44Speaker 2: Slower jumps, guy blame James, Fuck you, man, you made
- 47:48Speaker 2: me freaking.
- 47:50Speaker 1: I was once having sex, like in back in like
- 47:53Speaker 1: two thousand and were my girlfriend at the time, and
- 47:57Speaker 1: we were having beautiful sex and all, and it was
- 48:00Speaker 1: really getting rigorous and uh, and all of a sudden
- 48:06Speaker 1: we turned to each other and we're like, wait a minute,
- 48:08Speaker 1: and we both stopped. We're like, that's not us. It
- 48:11Speaker 1: was a fucking major earthquake and the whole fucking room
- 48:14Speaker 1: was moving. Damn. Yeah. We both jumped up and looked
- 48:20Speaker 1: outside the window and the pool next door was like
- 48:23Speaker 1: fucking swaying back and forth. It was crazy.
- 48:26Speaker 2: Why did you just ride it out?
- 48:28Speaker 3: Bro?
- 48:29Speaker 2: I was thinking too.
- 48:32Speaker 3: Well.
- 48:32Speaker 1: I didn't need I didn't need to just soak. I
- 48:35Speaker 1: didn't need God to act as the jumper. We were fine.
- 48:40Speaker 3: I think God would think differently on that situation.
- 48:43Speaker 1: Yeah, God was like, y'all are fucking killing it. Let
- 48:46Speaker 1: me help, okay, Ju while you're looking up the other thing,
- 48:51Speaker 1: I wanted to ask you. So in the end, they
- 48:56Speaker 1: give you. I thought that was really sweet the way
- 48:58Speaker 1: they ended it and they give First of all, Alan
- 49:01Speaker 1: Barren hooltz is a was a real judge, correct, and
- 49:06Speaker 1: he's Ike Baron Holts his father. But I thought that
- 49:09Speaker 1: Alan did a fantastic job as someone who's not a
- 49:13Speaker 1: trained actor.
- 49:14Speaker 3: Well, funnily enough, and I'm very glad you brought this up.
- 49:17Speaker 3: What a lot of people don't realize is that he
- 49:19Speaker 3: actually did. Like Alan's career passion was to be an actor,
- 49:24Speaker 3: but once he had a family, because he went to
- 49:26Speaker 3: school for it initially, but once he had a family,
- 49:28Speaker 3: he put his dreams to the side. He got a
- 49:31Speaker 3: stable career, he raised his family, and then when this
- 49:34Speaker 3: opportunity was presented to him, he viewed it as like
- 49:36Speaker 3: a hey, this is a way for me to pursue mya.
- 49:38Speaker 1: Now it reminds me of my father, because my father
- 49:41Speaker 1: always wanted to be an actor and he loved the
- 49:43Speaker 1: theater and he would be became a successful trial attorney,
- 49:47Speaker 1: but he would do community theater as his like, as
- 49:50Speaker 1: his hobby. And uh so, it's funny, it's interesting. It
- 49:54Speaker 1: reminds me. That reminded me of my dad. I thought
- 49:56Speaker 1: he was beautiful and I thought his the end, the
- 49:58Speaker 1: way he talked to you, the thing he said about
- 50:00Speaker 1: you is I found it very moving. And then you
- 50:03Speaker 1: get one hundred thousand. I mean, not only your mind
- 50:05Speaker 1: blown because they revealed to you what happened, but you
- 50:10Speaker 1: get one hundred thousand dollars, which must have been a
- 50:12Speaker 1: nice surprise.
- 50:13Speaker 3: One thousand percent. And I will say to people kept
- 50:16Speaker 3: repeating that to me on the day of the reveal,
- 50:18Speaker 3: and I just so you know that money, that money's real,
- 50:20Speaker 3: that check's gonna cash, that's that's real. But I was
- 50:23Speaker 3: so caught up in just trying to process like everything
- 50:26Speaker 3: that they were telling me that I, like the money
- 50:28Speaker 3: was the last thing I could focus on. It was
- 50:29Speaker 3: more of like you could just strip my world down
- 50:31Speaker 3: and I need to like build it back up.
- 50:34Speaker 1: Yeah, of course you might earn a total shock. I mean,
- 50:37Speaker 1: that's such a mind fuck.
- 50:39Speaker 2: Right right right away, you automatically go into what the
- 50:42Speaker 2: fuck did I say? What the fuck did I say?
- 50:43Speaker 2: What the fuck did I say?
- 50:44Speaker 3: What did I do? What did I do?
- 50:45Speaker 2: What did I do? What I do?
- 50:46Speaker 3: What I do? What it is? Okay?
- 50:47Speaker 2: A little good? We're good. We're good, We're good, We're good.
- 50:50Speaker 2: A hundred thousand.
- 50:51Speaker 1: Really, I think a lot of the time people responded
- 50:54Speaker 1: to you is just because we look there's so much
- 50:57Speaker 1: negativity in society. We look for kindness and I just
- 51:00Speaker 1: think you represented such kindness. A friend of mine told
- 51:04Speaker 1: me just yesterday, and I didn't know this about her,
- 51:07Speaker 1: but that she has an extreme fear of flying and
- 51:11Speaker 1: she's a really bad flyer. And she told me, I
- 51:13Speaker 1: cannot tell you the amazing stories I've had over the
- 51:16Speaker 1: course of my life where something happens turbulence and I
- 51:20Speaker 1: reach out and I grabbed the hand of a stranger
- 51:22Speaker 1: next to me, And how kind they are, she said.
- 51:26Speaker 1: Invariably they hold my hand and they tell me about
- 51:30Speaker 1: their kids, or they distract me, or they rub my back.
- 51:34Speaker 1: And she said, of all stripes and colors of human beings,
- 51:38Speaker 1: and it just made me feel so warm in my heart.
- 51:42Speaker 1: And I think that's why so many people responded to you,
- 51:45Speaker 1: because even though this was a comedy and it was
- 51:47Speaker 1: a crazy thing, you really just represented such kindness.
- 51:52Speaker 3: Honestly, I'm glad that that's like the message that people
- 51:54Speaker 3: took away from this too, because, you know, having lived
- 51:57Speaker 3: a really like selfish, just kind of like an ass
- 52:00Speaker 3: whole lifestyle when I was younger, like I really do
- 52:02Speaker 3: want to just kind of I want to be the
- 52:04Speaker 3: change that I would like to see in the world.
- 52:06Speaker 3: And so that means leading by example, and so throughout
- 52:09Speaker 3: the course of the show, like I did what I
- 52:11Speaker 3: thought was right the entire time, whether the cameras were
- 52:13Speaker 3: around or not. Like, all I'm trying to do is
- 52:16Speaker 3: just be that change. And if we don't lead by example,
- 52:18Speaker 3: I mean, talk is cheap. We all know that. So truthfully,
- 52:21Speaker 3: all I'm trying to do is just try to live
- 52:22Speaker 3: a lifestyle that's going to just promote helping other people.
- 52:25Speaker 3: You got to give people a chance, you know, like
- 52:27Speaker 3: if you come into it with preconceived notions, you already lose.
- 52:30Speaker 3: Like don't like, for example, the character Todd, I found
- 52:33Speaker 3: out on day two or three that he was a
- 52:35Speaker 3: convicted felon who recently had his rights restored. Not only
- 52:38Speaker 3: did he stay in the same hotel as me, but
- 52:40Speaker 3: he was right across the door for me. He was
- 52:42Speaker 3: the very next room. In the three weeks I spent
- 52:44Speaker 3: with him, I never once asked him what his felony
- 52:47Speaker 3: conviction was for because I didn't care. I gave him
- 52:50Speaker 3: an opportunity. I talked to him. I gave him a
- 52:52Speaker 3: chance just to learn that who he was.
- 52:54Speaker 1: You know, that was incredible. What about when the older
- 52:58Speaker 1: Asian man who teaches your game, and yeah, how much?
- 53:02Speaker 3: How much?
- 53:03Speaker 1: And then and how much? How much are you supposed
- 53:05Speaker 1: to He's supposed to uh, he's supposed to give you
- 53:07Speaker 1: got twenty five thousand dollars.
- 53:10Speaker 3: It was like, uh, no, I only it was that much.
- 53:11Speaker 3: I think it was only, like I shouldn't say only
- 53:13Speaker 3: because he owned gumball machines, so it's a lot of money.
- 53:16Speaker 3: It was like two grand something like that. But again,
- 53:19Speaker 3: like his story was that he owned like two gumball
- 53:21Speaker 3: machines and like a sticker machine, and so I was like,
- 53:24Speaker 3: this guy's not rolling, right.
- 53:26Speaker 1: That was so funny. He was like, he teaches them
- 53:30Speaker 1: the game, and it's a real game obviously, right.
- 53:33Speaker 3: Yeah, correct, the rules made up real game.
- 53:36Speaker 1: It's a real game. But he made up the rules.
- 53:39Speaker 3: He made up like the gambling rules. Okay, God, he
- 53:41Speaker 3: kind of taught me the real thing, but there was
- 53:43Speaker 3: a lot that was just okay.
- 53:44Speaker 1: So then you win and he's like, oh my god,
- 53:47Speaker 1: I owe you two thousand dollars and you were like,
- 53:51Speaker 1: I don't want your money. I don't want your money.
- 53:53Speaker 1: He's like, no, it's my pride. I have to give
- 53:55Speaker 1: you the two thousand. Yeah, that guy was great. Is
- 53:59Speaker 1: he an impront guy too?
- 54:00Speaker 3: He is? Yeah, he came from I believe it was
- 54:03Speaker 3: Second City. Actually, wow.
- 54:06Speaker 2: Do you ever look back and be like, what if
- 54:07Speaker 2: they went different with it?
- 54:08Speaker 3: Like?
- 54:09Speaker 2: What if they went if what if I responded different?
- 54:12Speaker 2: How would they have adjusted? Do you ever think about
- 54:14Speaker 2: the possibilities, Like there's a whole multiverse of what could
- 54:18Speaker 2: have happened in just this whole three months.
- 54:21Speaker 3: I think about it all the time, honestly, still to
- 54:23Speaker 3: this day too. And that's why I try to emphasize,
- 54:25Speaker 3: like the preparation that went into this was years in
- 54:27Speaker 3: the making, because not only did they have like their
- 54:30Speaker 3: skeleton script and like here are the beats that we hit,
- 54:32Speaker 3: but it's like here's the beats that we hit, here's
- 54:34Speaker 3: a B and C if he reacts this way, this
- 54:36Speaker 3: way or this way, and then we just try to
- 54:38Speaker 3: just go with it from there.
- 54:39Speaker 1: What an exciting thing to work on, I mean, from
- 54:41Speaker 1: a production of the One of the things I really
- 54:43Speaker 1: kind of appreciated in the finale was that they showed
- 54:45Speaker 1: you behind the scenes how they pulled it off. I
- 54:48Speaker 1: thought that was really I mean, from someone who's in production.
- 54:51Speaker 1: If you haven't seen Jerry Duty. Obviously, I can't recommend
- 54:54Speaker 1: it more highly.
- 54:57Speaker 2: Uh, and then the finale, seeing that you're you've been
- 54:59Speaker 2: sleeping under a rock. Yeah, I seen one episode.
- 55:03Speaker 1: Even though, by the way, the episodes are so short,
- 55:06Speaker 1: they're twenty minutes long, and I wish that, you know,
- 55:09Speaker 1: I ended up wishing it was more because it's so entertaining.
- 55:13Speaker 1: It would be kind of impossible for them to pull
- 55:15Speaker 1: this off again, don't you think, I.
- 55:17Speaker 3: Mean, especially given the success of the show, I would agree,
- 55:21Speaker 3: maybe give it some time and once it dies down.
- 55:24Speaker 3: I mean, it was such a successful like, how do
- 55:26Speaker 3: you not try it again?
- 55:27Speaker 1: I know, but I think maybe you can't do jury.
- 55:30Speaker 1: You could do like an office. You could do like
- 55:32Speaker 1: an office, like you've just been hired at a new job, right.
- 55:36Speaker 3: Like an intern or I don't know.
- 55:38Speaker 2: I'm sure there's a workaround, but again, like they probably
- 55:41Speaker 2: really get away with it with an office. And you say,
- 55:44Speaker 2: we're gonna it's the number one show in the world
- 55:46Speaker 2: right now, right, that's probably the way to go.
- 55:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I think if you did, like, hey, you're the
- 55:50Speaker 1: new hire, and it couldn't be doesn't have to be
- 55:53Speaker 1: an office like the show the Office. It could be like,
- 55:55Speaker 1: you know, a tire company, or it could be a
- 55:57Speaker 1: fucking grocery store. I don't know. There's got to be
- 56:00Speaker 1: another way in. But I really really enjoyed it.
- 56:06Speaker 3: I mean, I'm sure there is, but I mean, like,
- 56:07Speaker 3: I never would have thought they could have pulled off
- 56:09Speaker 3: in the first place, So I'm probably the wrong person
- 56:11Speaker 3: to ask for a sequel.
- 56:13Speaker 2: Well, the.
- 56:15Speaker 1: Thing I love the thing I love about the stories.
- 56:17Speaker 1: It's one of those examples like no, no disrespect to FREEV,
- 56:21Speaker 1: but I had never heard of FREEV. So think how
- 56:23Speaker 1: many fucking streamers and people passed on this show for
- 56:26Speaker 1: it it to end up on free V and then
- 56:29Speaker 1: it becomes one of the most viral shows of the year,
- 56:32Speaker 1: and it's all anyone's talking about. And I just always
- 56:34Speaker 1: think that's a I love when that happens. It's like
- 56:36Speaker 1: no one knows anything, no one knows what's gonna work,
- 56:39Speaker 1: and and everyone had to have passed on this for
- 56:42Speaker 1: it to be on FREEV and then it's all anyone's
- 56:44Speaker 1: talking about.
- 56:45Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 56:45Speaker 3: I got to give a huge shout out to Lauren Anderson.
- 56:48Speaker 3: She is the one who finally picked it up because,
- 56:50Speaker 3: like you said, David bernead told me. They shopped it
- 56:53Speaker 3: all around town and everybody passed on it, and Lauren
- 56:55Speaker 3: Anderson saw the vision, She's like, I'm willing to take
- 56:58Speaker 3: a risk on this, so huge shout out to her
- 57:00Speaker 3: if we're even giving the show a chance.
- 57:01Speaker 2: Yeah it was.
- 57:02Speaker 1: It was well done, dude, Thank you so much. I
- 57:05Speaker 1: you have a fan in me. Whatever you end up doing, well,
- 57:08Speaker 1: please keep being you. Don't let this town fuck you
- 57:11Speaker 1: up because you're a good soul. And whatever you end
- 57:14Speaker 1: up doing in any capacity, whether it's improv or hosting
- 57:17Speaker 1: the show, whatever, I'll be there watching you.
- 57:20Speaker 3: Thank you, and honestly, you bro guys, I'm huge fans
- 57:23Speaker 3: of you. Seriously, Like I don't want to date you
- 57:25Speaker 3: or anything, but like seriously, like the fact that I
- 57:27Speaker 3: watched you guys in high school on my TV and
- 57:29Speaker 3: I'm here right now, like this is it's sucking a
- 57:31Speaker 3: dream come true. It's really cool.
- 57:32Speaker 2: You know, Zach, you said he was a nice guy.
- 57:34Speaker 2: You said it, and then you have to stop.
- 57:36Speaker 3: You have to stop.
- 57:37Speaker 1: You have to stop having a a a sad when
- 57:42Speaker 1: people say they watched us in high school.
- 57:43Speaker 8: I'm fifty, Zach, stretch you wear well man action boogie
- 57:53Speaker 8: that don't.
- 57:55Speaker 2: Don't pull something down, man, just gonna kind of I
- 57:58Speaker 2: kind of did, I kind of.
- 58:00Speaker 1: He's bending over all, right, Thanks brother, great to have you.
- 58:03Speaker 3: Yeah, thank you, guys. I appreciate you having me.
- 58:05Speaker 4: Can I ask Ronald the question before you guys, have
- 58:08Speaker 4: you been called for real jury duty since you've been
- 58:11Speaker 4: on the show?
- 58:11Speaker 3: So? Funnily enough, two weeks after the finale premiered, I
- 58:15Speaker 3: got my first one. I got three in total, but
- 58:18Speaker 3: because I was doing the press store when I was
- 58:19Speaker 3: in New York, I was in Austin, We're at the
- 58:21Speaker 3: ATX Festival, I was constantly had to postpone it. And
- 58:24Speaker 3: then I moved to La Thank god. Have not gotten
- 58:26Speaker 3: one since I moved up here, but three times in
- 58:29Speaker 3: San Diego County after it aired well.
- 58:31Speaker 1: When you get on a jury, finally make sure to
- 58:33Speaker 1: say that you think that the defendant must testify and.
- 58:39Speaker 2: You hate cops police man.
- 58:44Speaker 3: That's actually wild though, it's it's I believe.
- 58:47Speaker 1: That's so common. Anyone who's anyone who's been on a jury,
- 58:49Speaker 1: or anyone who's been through through what are they called
- 58:52Speaker 1: what danne, you know something like that, that's the term
- 58:57Speaker 1: for jury selections, knows that there are a whole lot
- 59:00Speaker 1: of people that come up with some pretty crazy excuses.
- 59:04Speaker 1: And also we should say, what's your Instagram so people
- 59:06Speaker 1: can follow you?
- 59:07Speaker 3: Oh, it's a Sonny G Underscore s D.
- 59:11Speaker 4: What hell so?
- 59:13Speaker 1: Because my last name is Glad horrible love, I've told you.
- 59:17Speaker 3: I'm Oh, maybe I didn't take as this, but I
- 59:19Speaker 3: do not like l A. I moved to San Diego
- 59:22Speaker 3: and I had to move up here because of the show.
- 59:25Speaker 3: Like l A is not for me.
- 59:26Speaker 1: L A is not for most people. Dude, you don't
- 59:28Speaker 1: have to live here.
- 59:31Speaker 3: I made the Instagram when I lived in San Diego.
- 59:33Speaker 1: You know, I know, but I just want people to
- 59:35Speaker 1: find you, find you, And it's kind of tricky.
- 59:36Speaker 3: Semi G speller for Sonny G, like you know Sunny D,
- 59:40Speaker 3: but Sonny G so s u n n y G underscore.
- 59:45Speaker 1: S D underscore s D. Good the luck finding that.
- 59:50Speaker 2: That's like Diego.
- 59:52Speaker 1: That's why that sounds like Donald Eason because he was
- 59:55Speaker 1: so high he missed type. He's so stone.
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: It wasn't high. I was drunk.
- 1:00:03Speaker 1: Oh sorry, he was so drunk when creating his Instagram
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: handle that he mistyped the F and put an underscore
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: so he's Donald's underscore Ason. I was like, I feel
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: like that's something you could have rectified in the in
- 1:00:20Speaker 1: these years.
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: Once, once it's done, it's done, dude, thank you so much.
- 1:00:24Speaker 3: Literally told me that too. They're like, you should probably change.
- 1:00:26Speaker 3: I said, I'm not touching.
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: That's good for you. You want to talk about fame
- 1:00:42Speaker 2: the young he's been corrupt. I'm just kidding. What a
- 1:00:46Speaker 2: freaking nice young.
- 1:00:47Speaker 1: I love that guy. I want to be his friend.
- 1:00:48Speaker 1: I want to hang out with him. Man, he's so nice. Wow,
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: he's so nice.
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: I would not be nice after that.
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: I love that he's so nice. I love that he's
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: so I love that he's so nice. He's like, I
- 1:00:59Speaker 1: get the funk out of La.
- 1:01:00Speaker 3: This is just not for me.
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: I'll be in San Diego.
- 1:01:04Speaker 2: You think he's in the clubs and stuff.
- 1:01:06Speaker 1: I saw him ountain about one night at samacinthe bungalows.
