Transcript
- 0:08Speaker 1: Hello, Welcome to Inside the Tape with Greg Cosell. On
- 0:12Speaker 1: Inside the Birds, I'm Jeff Mosher and joining us is
- 0:15Speaker 1: Greg Cosell. Adam Kapraen won't be with us for this series,
- 0:19Speaker 1: but he'll definitely be back soon. And well, Greg, the Eagles,
- 0:23Speaker 1: they keep on winning and as I wrote in my
- 0:25Speaker 1: Philly Voice column, the Eagles lead the NFL in quote,
- 0:28Speaker 1: well we just won the game because nobody kind of
- 0:30Speaker 1: wins like them. They are a very interesting team right now.
- 0:34Speaker 1: Offense still struggling, defense really coming alive. So for part one,
- 0:39Speaker 1: we're gonna do exactly you know what. I've actually had
- 0:41Speaker 1: this idea, Greg, I think I don't know if people
- 0:44Speaker 1: would mind it. You know how we always do the
- 0:45Speaker 1: show in two parts. Why don't we just do front
- 0:48Speaker 1: end defense and back end defense and just yeah, yeah,
- 0:53Speaker 1: I'm sure. Now we will do the offense in part two.
- 0:56Speaker 2: But that'll be quick.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Yeah, it'll be quick. But Greg, this defense, I mean,
- 1:00Speaker 1: the pressure has been put on them in less than
- 1:03Speaker 1: a week a Monday and a Sunday right to come
- 1:06Speaker 1: up against two very good teams, to come up strong,
- 1:08Speaker 1: and they've done an excellent job. I mean, when you
- 1:11Speaker 1: look at it on tape. I'm sure you saw a
- 1:13Speaker 1: lot of similarities even from this game against the Lions
- 1:17Speaker 1: then you did with the Packers.
- 1:20Speaker 2: You know, It's funny, I didn't think of it in
- 1:22Speaker 2: those terms because I tend to think of each game
- 1:25Speaker 2: Jeff has a separate entity, because I think coaches think
- 1:28Speaker 2: like that. You know, each week it's a different week,
- 1:30Speaker 2: and look, every team has certain staples that they do,
- 1:33Speaker 2: so therefore there's always going to be some similarities in
- 1:36Speaker 2: what you see. You know, the Eagles continue to play
- 1:40Speaker 2: a good amount of man coverage, although I wonder, you know,
- 1:45Speaker 2: because we're not there, you know, so I don't know.
- 1:48Speaker 2: And vic Fanjo is obviously incredibly detailed and incredibly smart.
- 1:52Speaker 2: You know, sometimes I wonder if, even though it looks
- 1:55Speaker 2: really manish, if there's sort of other elements to it
- 1:59Speaker 2: that that is not just pure man. You know, that's
- 2:02Speaker 2: a very hard thing to know. But the point is
- 2:05Speaker 2: they do a really good job of matching routes. They
- 2:10Speaker 2: do a really good job, you know, when necessary, of
- 2:12Speaker 2: passing on routes. They have a great feel for the
- 2:16Speaker 2: match carry deliver principle. They seem to have unbelievable timing
- 2:20Speaker 2: with that so there's no real voids where the quarterback
- 2:23Speaker 2: can you know, say, oh, there's a clean throw. You know,
- 2:26Speaker 2: there's not a lot of clean throws versus this defense.
- 2:30Speaker 2: And you know, just from conversations I've had over the
- 2:33Speaker 2: years trying to learn as much as I can about
- 2:36Speaker 2: the Fanjoe defense, because believe me, you know, Vic is
- 2:39Speaker 2: one of those guys in the year that he was out,
- 2:42Speaker 2: from what I've been told, he just worked the game
- 2:46Speaker 2: like he was writing an academic paper on the study
- 2:49Speaker 2: of you know, some disease. You know, he's one of
- 2:52Speaker 2: those guys that just is, you know, a little nuts
- 2:55Speaker 2: in a good way about all this stuff. There's no
- 2:57Speaker 2: way I could possibly know all the tweets and and
- 3:01Speaker 2: there are many, and I can tell you for a
- 3:03Speaker 2: fact from speaking to people that there are literally adjustments
- 3:06Speaker 2: on every play. It's not hey, let's line up and play,
- 3:10Speaker 2: you know. And that was one thing they struggled with
- 3:12Speaker 2: early which made sense for Cuba early on and Campbell
- 3:16Speaker 2: early on, because there's literally adjustments on every play, right,
- 3:20Speaker 2: But this team, you know, Phillips has just added such
- 3:24Speaker 2: a dimension because, as you and I have discussed, in
- 3:26Speaker 2: an ideal world, Vic would rather rush, rush for and
- 3:30Speaker 2: play seven with his myriad tweaks and adjustments and coverage,
- 3:35Speaker 2: you know, rather than blitzing.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Yeah, yep, And that's where I that's why I when
- 3:40Speaker 1: I asked you about sort of the similarities rights you
- 3:43Speaker 1: had mentioned, you just mentioned uncomfortable throws. And that's what
- 3:46Speaker 1: really jumped out to me that both Jordan Love and
- 3:49Speaker 1: Jared Goff, who have been good quarterbacks, just never look
- 3:53Speaker 1: like they had.
- 3:55Speaker 2: I thought, you know, I thought, right from the start,
- 3:58Speaker 2: Goth looked like he was playing a little fast. Yeah,
- 4:01Speaker 2: and you know, GoF and I've always really liked the
- 4:05Speaker 2: way GoF plays, but he was not as poison his
- 4:08Speaker 2: patient in the pocket as he normally is. And again
- 4:13Speaker 2: there's no way to know the reasons why, you know,
- 4:15Speaker 2: I mean, the guy is a veteran quarterback. It's not
- 4:17Speaker 2: his first rodeo. He's played in big games in his
- 4:20Speaker 2: career and played well. But he just looked And you
- 4:24Speaker 2: can really notice that on tape and it's not an
- 4:26Speaker 2: X and zero point per se. But I've been watching tape,
- 4:29Speaker 2: you know, coaching tape since I think nineteen ninety two
- 4:32Speaker 2: and learned from smart people, and you can just see
- 4:34Speaker 2: when a guy is just playing a little fast. And
- 4:38Speaker 2: he just looked like, I know you saw too, right,
- 4:40Speaker 2: just looked like he was playing a little faster than normal.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, absolutely, And I'm starting to think Greg, because
- 4:47Speaker 1: we had this conversation week three right the Rams, if
- 4:51Speaker 1: you remember, in that game, when we went through the tape,
- 4:54Speaker 1: we really noted that Stafford actually had decent pass protection
- 4:58Speaker 1: in that game, but he almost seemed already rattled by
- 5:02Speaker 1: the idea of the pressure that might be coming at him,
- 5:05Speaker 1: and he rushed some of his throws. We we went
- 5:07Speaker 1: back and showed like five or six of them right
- 5:10Speaker 1: right right, and it really helps him. Starting you start
- 5:12Speaker 1: to see the Egles sort of win the game before
- 5:14Speaker 1: the game, meaning you're already in the quarterback's head because
- 5:18Speaker 1: of what you've done maybe in the past, or there
- 5:19Speaker 1: are certain players on the team, whether it's Carter, whether
- 5:22Speaker 1: it's you know, noel Sworth, whatever is that there's even
- 5:25Speaker 1: if the Eagles aren't generating a media pressure, they're already
- 5:29Speaker 1: the quarterback's already thinking about it. And I think that's
- 5:31Speaker 1: such a big advantage when you're already going into the
- 5:34Speaker 1: game and the quarterbacks just a little bit timid in
- 5:37Speaker 1: certain spots.
- 5:38Speaker 2: Yeah, and you notice that. And then if you're just
- 5:40Speaker 2: talking about individual players, because obviously you know that's what
- 5:44Speaker 2: you notice as well. I have to tell you I
- 5:47Speaker 2: think Nikobe Dean is playing really good football. I mean,
- 5:50Speaker 2: he is really standing out. I mean, I don't you know,
- 5:53Speaker 2: we're gonna get to some tapes, so I don't know
- 5:54Speaker 2: what you've chosen. I want people to understand that we
- 5:56Speaker 2: don't play on this in advance, so I don't know
- 5:58Speaker 2: what you're gonna ask me, you know, I just you know,
- 6:00Speaker 2: watch the tape and give you my thoughts, you know.
- 6:03Speaker 2: But you know, we saw last week on that at
- 6:07Speaker 2: the end of the first half when he had the
- 6:09Speaker 2: the blitz and beat Jacobs and he caused the fumble.
- 6:13Speaker 2: This week, he just blew up Montgomery. I mean that
- 6:16Speaker 2: was as good a play as you'll see. He's playing really,
- 6:20Speaker 2: really good football. I thought another really good play, and
- 6:22Speaker 2: you don't see this very often, is when they let
- 6:25Speaker 2: Jackson essentially play zero man on Saint Brown on that
- 6:30Speaker 2: out route and he knocked the ball away and he
- 6:32Speaker 2: played it really really well. Because obviously we've seen Jackson
- 6:35Speaker 2: a time struggle this year, and he's been an easy
- 6:37Speaker 2: target for everybody. But you know, the guy's still an
- 6:40Speaker 2: NFL player, and he shows up and he practices, and
- 6:43Speaker 2: you got to put him out there, you know. So
- 6:45Speaker 2: you know, just certain things you notice when you watch
- 6:47Speaker 2: the tape.
- 6:48Speaker 1: So the Lions played for twelve personnel, so naturally I
- 6:52Speaker 1: mean eleven personnel. So actually naturally the Eagles were in
- 6:55Speaker 1: Nickel a lot.
- 6:56Speaker 2: That's what they They're gonna play Nickel if you put
- 6:58Speaker 2: seven tight ends out there, well.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Yeah they are, they are. And I'm wondering though, if
- 7:02Speaker 1: there if you watch more Lions safe than me, I
- 7:06Speaker 1: mean with Laporta out, did they just lean heavy on
- 7:08Speaker 1: eleven or yes.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Yes, they play more twelve when the reporters there, and
- 7:11Speaker 2: he's a big factor. Look, I'm not going to say
- 7:13Speaker 2: the Eagles would have lost the game. No one can
- 7:15Speaker 2: even begin to answer that. So we're not going to
- 7:17Speaker 2: go there with the reporter. They play more twelve.
- 7:19Speaker 1: Yeah right, And you know what, they did have some
- 7:21Speaker 1: drops over the middle, like who knows does Laporter catch
- 7:23Speaker 1: him if he's targeted. I don't know, you have no idea,
- 7:26Speaker 1: You have no idea, no crew. Yeah, he could have
- 7:28Speaker 1: dropped it, just like everybody else was. So schematically, I
- 7:33Speaker 1: believe Vic blitzed maybe slightly more against the Packers, but
- 7:38Speaker 1: as you're mentioning, mostly still sim pressures four man pressures.
- 7:42Speaker 1: I mean, that's the biggest change I think from the
- 7:44Speaker 1: past two weeks from the first seven is that he
- 7:47Speaker 1: just doesn't feel like he has to blitz as much.
- 7:49Speaker 2: No, and they had a high pressure rate versus Goff
- 7:51Speaker 2: and they did it without high percentage blitz. Look, their
- 7:54Speaker 2: D line was simply better than the Lion's O line,
- 7:56Speaker 2: which quite frankly, I expected because we look. I picked
- 8:00Speaker 2: Jalen Carter as the player of the game. We talked
- 8:02Speaker 2: about that last week when I chose him, and it
- 8:05Speaker 2: wasn't surprising to me that their D line was the
- 8:07Speaker 2: better unit, given that the Lions had a backup at
- 8:09Speaker 2: left guard and a rookie at right guard. So I
- 8:12Speaker 2: mean when I said that, I didn't think that was
- 8:14Speaker 2: a profound statement. They're just better than those guys, you know.
- 8:17Speaker 2: I mean, sometimes it's one on one and the better
- 8:20Speaker 2: man wins.
- 8:21Speaker 1: That's right. The D line, the interior line of this game.
- 8:26Speaker 1: You saw a lot of batted passes, yeah, a lot
- 8:29Speaker 1: of disruption. It was really interesting to hear the Eagles
- 8:32Speaker 1: say that this was a tell that they picked up
- 8:35Speaker 1: throughout the week, and I'm sure other teams have too,
- 8:37Speaker 1: the way Goff likes the side arm throws. But what
- 8:40Speaker 1: specifically they said was Jordan Davis said this, Moro Joemo
- 8:43Speaker 1: said it. They practiced all week long about trying to
- 8:46Speaker 1: get their hands up and bat passes, and you know,
- 8:48Speaker 1: I just got to imagine that. You know, there are
- 8:51Speaker 1: so many things you practiced Wednesday through Saturday that, for
- 8:54Speaker 1: whatever reason, don't happen on the opponent makes the adjustment,
- 8:58Speaker 1: they get better, they're trying to figure out there wrinkles.
- 9:00Speaker 1: So when you get that intel and then you practice
- 9:03Speaker 1: it and then it works on Sunday, it's got to
- 9:05Speaker 1: be the greatest feeling in the It's like acing a
- 9:07Speaker 1: test that you study.
- 9:09Speaker 2: And by the way, that's why I've never been a
- 9:11Speaker 2: believer in blueprint, because I guarantee the Eagles are not
- 9:14Speaker 2: the first team that thought that. When they place played
- 9:16Speaker 2: Jared Goff, it just happened to work out that way
- 9:19Speaker 2: because the other factor is got such a rhythm player
- 9:21Speaker 2: that very often you're not going to get there and
- 9:24Speaker 2: sack him. So you know that he's a plan. His
- 9:27Speaker 2: back foot, deliver the football guy. So you know he's
- 9:30Speaker 2: not a guy. I mean, sometimes he has to wait
- 9:32Speaker 2: and throw it late in the down. Every quarterback does.
- 9:35Speaker 2: But in an ideal world, the way they run their offense,
- 9:38Speaker 2: he plants his backfoot and delivers the football. So when
- 9:41Speaker 2: he plants his back foot, you know you and I'm
- 9:43Speaker 2: sure they practiced as as you mentioned that at that point,
- 9:47Speaker 2: look to get your hands up because the ball.
- 9:48Speaker 1: Is going to come out right.
- 9:50Speaker 2: And they work the middle of the field very well.
- 9:53Speaker 2: That's a foundation of their past game, so they don't
- 9:56Speaker 2: necessarily know, not that they never throw outside the numbers,
- 9:58Speaker 2: of course they do, but as good a thrower as
- 10:01Speaker 2: there is between the numbers. And that's why the Davis
- 10:04Speaker 2: factor knocking one down, knocking I think three or four down,
- 10:08Speaker 2: and Carter knocked one down, you know, that's why that
- 10:10Speaker 2: was a big factor.
- 10:12Speaker 1: Sure, well, let's talk a little bit about just the
- 10:14Speaker 1: few I don't I don't even I didn't put them
- 10:17Speaker 1: in our clips to look at, because sometimes the play
- 10:20Speaker 1: is just great. Everybody sees it's great and we don't
- 10:22Speaker 1: really need to diagnose it.
- 10:23Speaker 2: You know.
- 10:24Speaker 1: Jamir Gibbs is obviously a player that when you get
- 10:26Speaker 1: him in space. Yeah, he can make moves that He's
- 10:30Speaker 1: just better than your guys on that give and play.
- 10:33Speaker 1: I felt that way. I know there were some mistackles
- 10:35Speaker 1: on the thirty three yard catch, but in general, without
- 10:40Speaker 1: breaking it apart, I mean, was that just that's Jamir
- 10:43Speaker 1: Gibbs that you see on a weekly basis.
- 10:45Speaker 2: Yeah, Oh, I mean, look, he had a tunnel screen
- 10:47Speaker 2: for forty two yards and a conventional screen for thirty
- 10:50Speaker 2: three yards. I mean, you know, Gibbs is Look, the
- 10:54Speaker 2: two most purely explosive backs in the league are Gibbs
- 10:57Speaker 2: in a chain. I mean in terms of just pure
- 11:00Speaker 2: explosion there, they're They're just at a different speed even
- 11:04Speaker 2: for the NFL level. They're, you know, two of those guys.
- 11:07Speaker 2: The term I always uses, you know, is terrifying speed.
- 11:10Speaker 2: So you know, we can sit here and talk about, oh,
- 11:12Speaker 2: this guy had a chance to tackle him, and this
- 11:14Speaker 2: guy might have had a chance to tackle him. But
- 11:16Speaker 2: you know, Gibbs is one of those guys.
- 11:18Speaker 1: He's special.
- 11:19Speaker 2: It's good.
- 11:19Speaker 1: I'm not going to come down too hard.
- 11:22Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 11:22Speaker 1: I thought his actual his lateral and change of direction,
- 11:27Speaker 1: especially seeing it up close and like be I was
- 11:29Speaker 1: there at the game as opposed to TV was something
- 11:32Speaker 1: that really struck me. He it's almost Tyreek kill ish
- 11:36Speaker 1: with the ball in his hand. As far as his
- 11:38Speaker 1: ability to stop start, Oh yeah, it's very sudden, and
- 11:42Speaker 1: that's really hard when your momentum is going one way
- 11:44Speaker 1: when he changes it the other way.
- 11:46Speaker 2: No, he's one of those guys.
- 11:47Speaker 1: Barkley. Barkley's not let Barkley can.
- 11:51Speaker 2: You don't have hips like that. I remember watching just
- 11:55Speaker 2: a very quick story. I remember watching uh Gibbs when
- 12:00Speaker 2: he was It was this summer after his last year
- 12:04Speaker 2: at Georgia Tech. He was transferring to Alabama, so I
- 12:06Speaker 2: felt like watching his taper. So I knew he'd be
- 12:07Speaker 2: the feature back at Alabama and therefore he'd get a
- 12:09Speaker 2: lot of carries and he'd come out the next year.
- 12:11Speaker 2: So I was watching his Georgia Tech tape, and amazingly enough,
- 12:16Speaker 2: that day at NFL Films, I'm watching his tape and
- 12:20Speaker 2: Fred Taylor happened to be in the building. And I
- 12:21Speaker 2: had met Fred Taylor on the field at the Combine
- 12:24Speaker 2: a few years before, and we were talking running backs.
- 12:26Speaker 2: He taught me quite a few things about running backs,
- 12:29Speaker 2: and I said, Fred Khmare, I called him in and
- 12:31Speaker 2: I'm watching Jamiir Gibbs is Georgia Tech tape and he,
- 12:35Speaker 2: you know, he didn't have much time. He was doing
- 12:36Speaker 2: something in the building, but he watched like three or
- 12:38Speaker 2: four plays and he just said to me, Hey, that
- 12:40Speaker 2: kid's special. And you know this was his Georgia Tech
- 12:43Speaker 2: tape before he even went to Alabama, So you know,
- 12:46Speaker 2: he's just a different cat. He's one of those guys.
- 12:48Speaker 1: Yeah, were when you watch tape, I know you I
- 12:51Speaker 1: assume you watch the offense first and that you don't
- 12:53Speaker 1: watch it like every single play in order the way
- 12:56Speaker 1: it a Kurt.
- 12:56Speaker 2: Correct, Oh yeah, I do.
- 12:57Speaker 1: Oh I thought you break it apart into offense and
- 12:59Speaker 1: then defense.
- 13:00Speaker 2: Oh I do, yes, yes, yeah, I watched put it
- 13:03Speaker 2: up right. Yeah. The way we have it is, I'll watch,
- 13:05Speaker 2: let's say, you know, a Lions offense versus Eagles defense
- 13:09Speaker 2: play one through whatever sixty five and there's three angles
- 13:13Speaker 2: of each play, which is why it takes me a
- 13:15Speaker 2: long time. But but yeah, yeah, but I don't watch
- 13:17Speaker 2: the game. Yeah, like like I'm watching it on TV
- 13:20Speaker 2: right right.
- 13:21Speaker 1: So I wonder the number of fourth downs that Dan
- 13:24Speaker 1: Campbell attempted when you're going through the typer. Does it
- 13:28Speaker 1: really jump out? You're like, wow, they're going for it again.
- 13:30Speaker 1: He's doing it again. All right, that's a fake punt.
- 13:32Speaker 1: That's different, but bam. I mean five times he went
- 13:35Speaker 1: for it on fourth down and went oh for five,
- 13:38Speaker 1: which I have to think is pretty rare for any team.
- 13:40Speaker 2: Like, yeah, three for thirteen or third down and oh
- 13:42Speaker 2: for five on fourth down, and those are big factors
- 13:44Speaker 2: in the game.
- 13:45Speaker 1: Yeah, situational football is going to win the games. And
- 13:47Speaker 1: of course he was when the turnover battle again won
- 13:50Speaker 1: nothing on that one, even.
- 13:51Speaker 2: Though he had pushes that didn't get first downs.
- 13:54Speaker 1: Isn't that crazy anything that jumped out to you other
- 13:56Speaker 1: than the false start.
- 13:57Speaker 2: I mean, I don't watch those plays close. Again, I'm
- 13:59Speaker 2: being totally honest because I you know, I'm not a
- 14:01Speaker 2: big push push fan, so that's usually like you know,
- 14:05Speaker 2: when I just take a quick peak to see if
- 14:06Speaker 2: I have an email, you know.
- 14:10Speaker 1: I lost three angles of that to get to the
- 14:12Speaker 1: next day.
- 14:12Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's funny.
- 14:16Speaker 1: All right, cool, good stuff. We'll see I mean before
- 14:20Speaker 1: we get the film, obviously, you know, the Cowboys will
- 14:23Speaker 1: be coming up and they're you know it. It's just
- 14:25Speaker 1: interesting Eagles are playing these kind of offensive juggernauts week after week,
- 14:29Speaker 1: and you do wonder how much can they keep asking
- 14:32Speaker 1: their defense to uh save the day, because you can't
- 14:35Speaker 1: win every game fourteen, six, thirteen to nine, like eventually,
- 14:39Speaker 1: you know, I know they're doing it now, but there's
- 14:42Speaker 1: gonna be a team.
- 14:43Speaker 2: Yeah, it's funny. One reason I did pick the Eagles
- 14:46Speaker 2: to win, and obviously I didn't pick it by that score,
- 14:47Speaker 2: but I didn't pick a high scorer, as you might recall,
- 14:50Speaker 2: because I you know, I knew we had spoken about
- 14:52Speaker 2: how the weather was going to be an issue. Was
- 14:54Speaker 2: incredibly windy on Sunday, and it just didn't set up
- 14:57Speaker 2: well to me for the Lions, right. You know. So again,
- 15:00Speaker 2: if they played the Lions in the Dome, I'm not
- 15:02Speaker 2: suggesting the Lions, you know, in their building would have
- 15:05Speaker 2: put up thirty five. I'm not saying that, but I
- 15:07Speaker 2: imagine the game would have played out a little differently.
- 15:09Speaker 1: You know, it's very interesting the Eagles, with their big
- 15:12Speaker 1: time wins right over a team they beat, this team
- 15:14Speaker 1: they play mostly indoors. You would say, I know, there's
- 15:18Speaker 1: it's not fully indoors, but it's indoors the Rams indoor team,
- 15:22Speaker 1: the Cowboys indoor team. Yeah, the Lions are fully indoors.
- 15:25Speaker 1: I meant the Rams of the team. That's not fully
- 15:27Speaker 1: because right there, it's like an opening in that stadium.
- 15:29Speaker 2: Yeah, so weather's usually pretty good out there.
- 15:32Speaker 1: Right, So the game they lost to the Broncos, that's
- 15:35Speaker 1: an outdoor I do I do wonder if because not
- 15:37Speaker 1: only in these teams that play on turf and indoors,
- 15:40Speaker 1: they have drops. Remember Cee Lamb dropped everything in that
- 15:43Speaker 1: in that.
- 15:44Speaker 2: Open in that opening game.
- 15:45Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, we saw drops in this game. I can't
- 15:48Speaker 1: remember if there were drops in the Rams game, but again,
- 15:50Speaker 1: it just felt like Stafford was Yeah, there were. In fact,
- 15:53Speaker 1: there were one or two we thought that went right
- 15:54Speaker 1: off the hands because they looked a little hurried. I
- 15:57Speaker 1: just wonder how much that really is a factor these
- 16:00Speaker 1: indoor teams coming into outdoor environments.
- 16:03Speaker 2: Especially when the weather's not great.

- 18:48Speaker 1: All right, let's take a look at some of the
- 18:50Speaker 1: defensive film here. This is very early. Again, it's the
- 18:55Speaker 1: interception that's going to be a batted ball from I
- 18:59Speaker 1: think it was Jordan Day.
- 19:00Speaker 2: And see this was they busted the coverage on this
- 19:04Speaker 2: and you'll see that right to tight end is wide
- 19:08Speaker 2: open and he would run after catch and then Goff
- 19:12Speaker 2: looked initially to his right and you know, nothing was there.
- 19:17Speaker 1: Did he want Gibbs?
- 19:17Speaker 2: You think?
- 19:18Speaker 1: Is that was that sort of because it looks.
- 19:19Speaker 2: Like possibly, you don't know for sure, he looks by
- 19:23Speaker 2: his body position if he's looking for Gibbs. And to
- 19:26Speaker 2: be honest with you, I don't know why he didn't
- 19:27Speaker 2: throw it. And unless he didn't get a clear picture
- 19:29Speaker 2: of him because of Phillips and the right tackle sewell,
- 19:32Speaker 2: you know that that's impossible to know. If he just
- 19:34Speaker 2: doesn't see it immediately, Clearly he knows he doesn't have
- 19:37Speaker 2: a lot of time to wait so he might not
- 19:40Speaker 2: have seen it. But look, you'll see it now at
- 19:41Speaker 2: the top of the screen, Jeff, if you run it
- 19:43Speaker 2: a little, they busted the coverage because look it right.
- 19:47Speaker 1: Oh yeah, right at the top.
- 19:49Speaker 2: Wide open and look at the right. He's not going
- 19:51Speaker 2: to score anything. It's a tight end. But I mean,
- 19:54Speaker 2: if that ball is complete, that becomes a twenty twenty
- 19:56Speaker 2: five yard game.
- 19:57Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 19:57Speaker 2: And obviously Davis got his hand on it.
- 20:01Speaker 1: And I wonder if he was throwing it to him, Greg,
- 20:04Speaker 1: and Davis just got his hand on it.
- 20:05Speaker 2: He was throwing it to right for sure.
- 20:07Speaker 1: Oh he was, Okay, he was definitely. Yeah, he was
- 20:09Speaker 1: wide open then, man, amazingly as good as the Eagles
- 20:16Speaker 1: have been in the red zone all your from here.
- 20:18Speaker 2: You'll see it from here. Look he looks to his right.
- 20:21Speaker 2: If you just play it, he comes back. Look he's
- 20:24Speaker 2: looking right at right. He's throwing it to right.
- 20:26Speaker 1: Yeah, you're absolutely right, that ball is going right.
- 20:28Speaker 2: Yeah. And by the way, knock down.
- 20:30Speaker 1: By the way, something offensive linemen are taught that I
- 20:33Speaker 1: thought really jumped out here. When defensive linemen do that,
- 20:37Speaker 1: they reach up in bat. Offensive linemen are taught to
- 20:40Speaker 1: hammer him in the chest. As hard as you can,
- 20:42Speaker 1: so you no, don't do that. And if you look
- 20:43Speaker 1: at Jordan Davis he takes a shot, I mean look
- 20:47Speaker 1: at him right now. He's taking it.
- 20:49Speaker 2: Oh yeah, and he lands hard on his back. He
- 20:51Speaker 2: turned out.
- 20:51Speaker 1: It's very hard. So that's even extra bonus for Jordan
- 20:54Speaker 1: to have blocked it. Took the took the shot.
- 20:57Speaker 2: And I looked at this play ten times, Jeff, I
- 20:59Speaker 2: don't know who made the mistake in coverage, so I
- 21:01Speaker 2: can't answer that. But clearly right's not supposed to be
- 21:04Speaker 2: standing there wide open, so somebody made a mistake, but
- 21:09Speaker 2: I don't know who was. You know, I watched it.
- 21:11Speaker 2: I was trying to figure out the coverage. It had
- 21:13Speaker 2: man elements, it had zone elements. You know, I didn't
- 21:16Speaker 2: know who who technically made the mistake.
- 21:18Speaker 1: Got it all right? This play we're gonna look at
- 21:21Speaker 1: is an interesting blitz, right, and this is the third
- 21:24Speaker 1: quarter reins a little bit cross dog.
- 21:28Speaker 2: Oh yeah, the fire x cross dog, cross dog.
- 21:31Speaker 1: So explain that a little bit what people are going
- 21:33Speaker 1: to see.
- 21:34Speaker 2: And so this was in the third quarter.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Yep, I think it was third and five.
- 21:40Speaker 2: Let me go back to my notes to make sure
- 21:42Speaker 2: I'm the right play. Oh, this was third and five,
- 21:46Speaker 2: first first third quarter possession. They went fire x cross dog.
- 21:49Speaker 2: So what that means is that the two stacked backers cross.
- 21:55Speaker 2: In a sense, it's almost like a second level stunt,
- 21:59Speaker 2: you know, and which is kind of what it is
- 22:02Speaker 2: if you're just thinking of it from a you know, perspective,
- 22:05Speaker 2: it's kind of a second level stunt. So if you
- 22:07Speaker 2: just run it, you'll see what I mean. You'll see
- 22:09Speaker 2: that y Bean goes first, Bonn goes behind him, So
- 22:14Speaker 2: it's like an X That's why they caught a fire
- 22:16Speaker 2: x cross dog. And what happened here is the center
- 22:21Speaker 2: initially at ayes on Bonn because Bonn was to his side,
- 22:25Speaker 2: and then all of a sudden, Dean's in his grill
- 22:28Speaker 2: and Dean's able to kind of push him back. And
- 22:31Speaker 2: what happened here this was interesting to me. You know,
- 22:35Speaker 2: I never know how guys are taught how to run routes,
- 22:37Speaker 2: but it seemed to me, if you look at the
- 22:38Speaker 2: top of the screen, it seemed to me that Saint
- 22:42Speaker 2: Brown I was surprised he didn't do more of a
- 22:45Speaker 2: speed cut here. Again, I don't want to say that
- 22:48Speaker 2: he made a mistake because I don't know that, but
- 22:50Speaker 2: he sort of got caught up with and I believe
- 22:54Speaker 2: that that's Jackson because Mitchell's the boundary corner down below,
- 22:58Speaker 2: So he got caught up and if he had made
- 23:02Speaker 2: a speed cut, I think this would have been a completion.
- 23:04Speaker 2: But like I said, I am not ripping Saint Brown
- 23:06Speaker 2: because I don't know how he's taught to run this route.
- 23:09Speaker 1: I was just surprised by it, right, So what Greg
- 23:11Speaker 1: for those listening and watchings, you know, instead of right
- 23:14Speaker 1: now he's getting trying to get into the door his
- 23:16Speaker 1: hip pocket and then get him turned.
- 23:17Speaker 2: Around, he's trying to get into his hip pocket, close
- 23:20Speaker 2: down the cushion, throttle down, and then break instead of
- 23:23Speaker 2: just running right at him, maybe getting a yard away
- 23:26Speaker 2: from him and then speed turning right away inside, which
- 23:30Speaker 2: means he would have gotten inside quicker and he would
- 23:32Speaker 2: have been a yard or two further to the inside,
- 23:36Speaker 2: in which case it probably would have been a completion.
- 23:38Speaker 1: Right right, because he was really just that close. So
- 23:42Speaker 1: here's a good angle look at the cross dog put
- 23:47Speaker 1: is this a Mike Zimmer staple or.
- 23:51Speaker 2: But the key part here notice Jomo and Young. Notice
- 23:56Speaker 2: how they attack to the outside because they want to
- 23:59Speaker 2: open up the inside you see. Yep, that's all part
- 24:02Speaker 2: of the whole concept. And you can see that Glasgow
- 24:06Speaker 2: has eyes on Bond the center and all of a
- 24:08Speaker 2: sudden deans in his face.
- 24:10Speaker 1: Yep, great design, great execution. Nikobe gets downhill really well.
- 24:17Speaker 1: I mean he just uses that He's powerful.
- 24:20Speaker 2: Yeah, he's powerful, Jeff. For a little guy, there's a
- 24:22Speaker 2: lot in that compact body.
- 24:24Speaker 1: So we talked about how Dan Cambell went for a
- 24:27Speaker 1: fourth down right after that play, He's going to go
- 24:29Speaker 1: for it here on fourth and five. And this is
- 24:32Speaker 1: this made my day, Greg because Adam and I last
- 24:35Speaker 1: week we're talking about Michael Carter and what role he
- 24:38Speaker 1: might have even if he doesn't play nicol or outside.
- 24:42Speaker 2: And he played one play and this was it.
- 24:44Speaker 1: And hey, listen, it matters and accounts and and Vic
- 24:47Speaker 1: now has a dime package to use, which I don't
- 24:49Speaker 1: believe he had used all year long, if maybe once
- 24:52Speaker 1: with Macavadi.
- 24:53Speaker 2: Is a very few. They actually had dime earlier in
- 24:55Speaker 2: the game, but there was a penalty so the play didn't.
- 24:57Speaker 1: Count, right, right, So that would be one with.
- 25:01Speaker 2: Two man coverage here, and you know, the Lions ran
- 25:04Speaker 2: a high low concept, which is normally a concept a
- 25:06Speaker 2: getting zone. Just you know, so people understand and you'll
- 25:10Speaker 2: see what I mean by a high low concept. Look
- 25:12Speaker 2: to you at the left of the screen. The inside
- 25:14Speaker 2: receiver is gonna run kind of a sit sit route,
- 25:17Speaker 2: you know type route. Actually it's not, it's not the
- 25:20Speaker 2: inside receiver. But if you go back, it's the uh
- 25:24Speaker 2: the number three Yep? Who is number three? Right?
- 25:29Speaker 1: Is that on me?
- 25:30Speaker 2: I think it is. He's gonna run like the short
- 25:32Speaker 2: little sit route right there. Stop and then behind him,
- 25:37Speaker 2: Uh is Williams running the inbreaker. It's normally his own concept.
- 25:41Speaker 2: But Williams wins. And again a perfect example of a
- 25:44Speaker 2: throw catchable but not We've seen GoF make this throw
- 25:48Speaker 2: a thousand times and put it right on And by
- 25:51Speaker 2: the way, if he put it right on him, he
- 25:53Speaker 2: could have scored maybe because he's got that kind of speed,
- 25:56Speaker 2: you know, he can beat angles.
- 25:58Speaker 1: Right, this is what it looks like. Even from this view.
- 26:01Speaker 1: You'll get an even better throw itself.
- 26:06Speaker 2: And it's man coverage. They're playing two man.
- 26:09Speaker 1: Yeah, and this was one of the few five man
- 26:11Speaker 1: rushes here.
- 26:12Speaker 2: No, it's not a five man rush because.
- 26:14Speaker 1: All right, you're right baughn doesn't fully go.
- 26:16Speaker 2: Man Bond has the back. It's a t T stunt
- 26:18Speaker 2: inside right with a Joe Mother penetrator and Carter the looper.
- 26:22Speaker 1: Right right there.
- 26:25Speaker 2: You know again, is it catchable? Yeah, but it's not
- 26:28Speaker 2: really a good throw. And if he hit him right
- 26:31Speaker 2: in stride, you know, the Jeane's not making the tackle.
- 26:34Speaker 2: Then the question is with just one of the safeties
- 26:37Speaker 2: to that, you know, does Blanket Ship make the tackle?
- 26:39Speaker 2: That's a tough deal.
- 26:40Speaker 1: There you go, all right? A This would be to
- 26:45Speaker 1: the breakout the pass breakup of Dori Jackson. This is
- 26:48Speaker 1: third and ten in the third word, woind up being
- 26:51Speaker 1: a really big big play in the game.
- 26:53Speaker 2: Right now you're in the red zone.
- 26:55Speaker 1: Yep, oh yeah, I'm sorry. Not third and ten? Would
- 26:57Speaker 1: I say third and goal? Yeah? No? Is it fourth
- 27:01Speaker 1: and goal? Fourth and goal? My bright yep? So this
- 27:05Speaker 1: is gonna the ball is going to go to uh.
- 27:07Speaker 1: I think I'm on Ross and Brown here? What what
- 27:10Speaker 1: are the Eagles in? I think they rushed four on this? Correct?
- 27:15Speaker 2: Was this the one? Oh? This was the one where
- 27:18Speaker 2: Phillips feed Sewell right off the edge. He broke down
- 27:21Speaker 2: GoF in the pocket right away.
- 27:23Speaker 1: Was this the one if one, Yeah, yeah, he beats him.
- 27:26Speaker 2: He beats Oh yeah, that's the one. He beats him
- 27:28Speaker 2: right off the edge really quick. Because another example, they're
- 27:31Speaker 2: playing man coverage right the tight end was actually the
- 27:34Speaker 2: boundary X and Mitchell had him because they're playing man
- 27:38Speaker 2: and Mitchell couldn't work through the traffic, and if Gough
- 27:40Speaker 2: had time in the pocket, this was a walk in touchdown.
- 27:43Speaker 2: Just shows you the difference in these games. Jack, Yeah,
- 27:46Speaker 2: how marginal it is. You know, the margin for era
- 27:49Speaker 2: is so small because look, if Gough has time and
- 27:52Speaker 2: is able to scan and see what's going on, look
- 27:55Speaker 2: at the tight end coming from the left side of
- 27:56Speaker 2: the formation, keep running it. Yep, he's white. This be
- 27:59Speaker 2: a touchdown.
- 28:01Speaker 1: Yeah. In fact, it's weird that he had time to
- 28:03Speaker 1: throw it.
- 28:04Speaker 2: The throwing now to the one on one. He he
- 28:07Speaker 2: doesn't have time to really see the play with clarity,
- 28:11Speaker 2: so he knows it's one on one and he's just
- 28:13Speaker 2: throwing it to him because see this is the Phillips factor.
- 28:16Speaker 2: He doesn't get a sack, but he's responsible for this play.
- 28:19Speaker 2: By the way, it's the past rush by Jordan Davis
- 28:21Speaker 2: here too. You know he ends up Yeah, I mean
- 28:23Speaker 2: he he beats that's the backup left card.
- 28:27Speaker 1: Yep. And even even Hunt got a nice pressure around
- 28:30Speaker 1: left hand.
- 28:30Speaker 2: Yeah. Now yeah, obviously got moved toward Hunt. Yeah, you
- 28:33Speaker 2: can see this play was made by Phillips though.
- 28:36Speaker 1: Yeah. If I freeze it right here, you can just
- 28:38Speaker 1: see that's a walk in touchdown for brock right.
- 28:40Speaker 2: It's a walk in touchdown for brock right, and Gough
- 28:42Speaker 2: would have seen him if he had time in the pocket.
- 28:43Speaker 2: He's right in front of.
- 28:44Speaker 1: Him, yep. Dorry Jackson does a nice job using the
- 28:47Speaker 1: back line of the end zone as an extra defender. Yeah,
- 28:49Speaker 1: it's in front of him. Yeah, all right, Uh, this
- 28:54Speaker 1: is another a Doriri Jackson play.
- 28:55Speaker 2: Now, everything that really stood out to me because normally
- 28:59Speaker 2: what the Eagle do with Quinon Mitchell Jeff is they'll
- 29:02Speaker 2: play him as the boundary corner and he plays, you know,
- 29:05Speaker 2: out of their two shell quarters type coverages. They let
- 29:09Speaker 2: Jackson literally, excuse me, they let Mitchell play pretty much
- 29:12Speaker 2: zero man. Okay, this time they let Jackson play zero
- 29:17Speaker 2: man on Saint Brown, Which if you said that to
- 29:20Speaker 2: an Eagles fan before the game, they say, what are
- 29:21Speaker 2: you nuts? But you know, right, I mean wouldn't that
- 29:24Speaker 2: be the response? Probably? Sure, you know, And this time
- 29:27Speaker 2: they let Jackson do it, and he played it really,
- 29:30Speaker 2: really well. And for those of this was a third
- 29:33Speaker 2: down play as well, it was.
- 29:34Speaker 1: Third and ten. When you say zero man, you mean
- 29:36Speaker 1: the corner has no safety help, right, there's.
- 29:38Speaker 2: No help here he's playing. There's no help at all. Right,
- 29:41Speaker 2: Look at the safety to that side. Who's Makuba? Look
- 29:44Speaker 2: where he is. He's not the least bit interested in
- 29:48Speaker 2: Jackson helping. But notice how Jackson, because of zero man,
- 29:52Speaker 2: is playing with a little bit to the inside. You
- 29:55Speaker 2: can see that what we call inside leverage, because he
- 29:58Speaker 2: wants to push him to the sideline where he has
- 30:00Speaker 2: a friend. The sideline. He does not want him to
- 30:03Speaker 2: run let's say, a post route inside of him, because
- 30:07Speaker 2: there's no safety to help him over the top, right,
- 30:11Speaker 2: So he wants to make sure he pushes him to
- 30:13Speaker 2: the sideline where you know, like I said, he's got
- 30:16Speaker 2: a friend, he had a balance. Yep, this is really
- 30:19Speaker 2: good by Jackson. You got to give him credit.
- 30:21Speaker 1: Good break on it. Yeah, no, hey, that's too you know,
- 30:23Speaker 1: we know he gave up one, We give up a
- 30:25Speaker 1: bad one turned into a touchdown. But that was two plays.
- 30:27Speaker 1: We just showed that he may and it does feel
- 30:30Speaker 1: like every week he's under the microscope, right, because it's like.
- 30:32Speaker 2: It's under the microscope. The other colender is really good.
- 30:35Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, he was a I met more under the
- 30:39Speaker 1: microscope because of Corey and Bennett and because.
- 30:43Speaker 2: See what happens.
- 30:44Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, this is fourth quarter, five minutes left.
- 30:48Speaker 1: This is the wheel route Greg.
- 30:50Speaker 2: So this was the one where Dean ran with our Gibbs,
- 30:54Speaker 2: but and ran with him really well. But there was
- 30:57Speaker 2: also really good pressure here if I'm not mistaken by
- 31:00Speaker 2: j Alex Hunt, if I'm not mistaken, So they ran
- 31:06Speaker 2: a wheel with Gibbs and if you run the play,
- 31:08Speaker 2: you'll see so Gibbs is off set in the backfield
- 31:11Speaker 2: to the boundary and he's going to run the wheel
- 31:14Speaker 2: and they got the matchup they wanted. And looking to Kobe, now,
- 31:20Speaker 2: the question is would GoF have waited another beat if
- 31:25Speaker 2: it wasn't for the p And by the way, he's
- 31:27Speaker 2: rushing the quarterback on the tight end Hunt here, so
- 31:30Speaker 2: which doesn't mean that that's a problem, but you know,
- 31:33Speaker 2: you expect him to win and he does and there's
- 31:36Speaker 2: no question God feels that he doesn't have to see
- 31:39Speaker 2: that he feels it. The question is, could would he
- 31:42Speaker 2: have waited a beat longer to see if Gibbs would
- 31:44Speaker 2: have separated, But because he had to throw it now
- 31:49Speaker 2: and he feels it. You could see he started to
- 31:50Speaker 2: climb a little bit because he felt it.
- 31:52Speaker 1: Yes, you saw the climb there.
- 31:54Speaker 2: Yeah, So my sense is he probably would have waited
- 31:57Speaker 2: an extra beat, but he had to throw it, and
- 32:00Speaker 2: Dean did a great job.
- 32:01Speaker 1: Yep. And by the way, I think in every clip
- 32:03Speaker 1: we show for this is the last one. This will
- 32:05Speaker 1: be the sim pressure I think you were talking about
- 32:07Speaker 1: when Nikobe Dean busts through against the sack in the
- 32:10Speaker 1: fourth quarter late on second and ten. But I believe
- 32:12Speaker 1: in every single clip we've shown so far a lot
- 32:15Speaker 1: like last week, it all starts from that too high
- 32:17Speaker 1: structure that you have been referring to a lot of it,
- 32:21Speaker 1: which is the Vic Fangio trademark.
- 32:23Speaker 2: Right, which is I think what he'd ideally like to
- 32:25Speaker 2: do start from this structure.
- 32:27Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, all right, before I run it, you want
- 32:29Speaker 1: to set up obviously the Dean. I've gotten to a
- 32:32Speaker 1: point here where Dean he's showing he's going to be blitzing. Yeah.
- 32:35Speaker 2: No, and this was this was big time. I mean,
- 32:38Speaker 2: this is this is just you know football. I mean
- 32:41Speaker 2: this is It came on a four man sim pressure,
- 32:44Speaker 2: he was the fourth rusher and then he just blew
- 32:48Speaker 2: up Montgomery and I mean this was boom. Wow.
- 32:57Speaker 1: I think you made the great plat. I mean, we've
- 32:59Speaker 1: seen the buff. He is not like Fred Warner big
- 33:01Speaker 1: or some of the big I mean he he's a
- 33:03Speaker 1: little guy, but he just he turns speed to power
- 33:06Speaker 1: really well.
- 33:06Speaker 2: I mean look at him, he just blows him up
- 33:08Speaker 2: and Montgomery.
- 33:09Speaker 1: I don't watch the whole not take, but he's a
- 33:10Speaker 1: pretty good blitz pickup guy.
- 33:12Speaker 2: Right. Yeah. And he's not small either, No.
- 33:14Speaker 1: He's not. Yeah, he's their power back. Yeah, that's just really.
- 33:18Speaker 2: You know, Dean is really since he's come back, he's
- 33:21Speaker 2: he's played really good football, really good football. He's been
- 33:24Speaker 2: one of the keys to their defense.
- 33:26Speaker 1: Look at that. It's like taking out two for one
- 33:28Speaker 1: right there. It's a two for one deal. Greg, Yep,
- 33:30Speaker 1: it's the holidays.
- 33:31Speaker 2: Get there you go, Da Friday is coming up.
- 33:34Speaker 1: That's right, Hey, Philly fans game day is stressful enough.
- 33:37Speaker 1: Parking traffic, long lines, We've all been there, but when
- 33:41Speaker 1: it comes to your cannabis, Camden Apothecary makes it easy.
- 33:46Speaker 1: This is the dispensary for sports fans, just minutes outside
- 33:50Speaker 1: of Philly, with plenty of free parking. You'll be in
- 33:52Speaker 1: and out fast, no hassle, no waiting, and they don't
- 33:56Speaker 1: just care about convenience. Camden Apothecary is all about the
- 34:00Speaker 1: guest experience. Their staff makes sure you feel taken care
- 34:04Speaker 1: of every time you walk in. Plus they carry only
- 34:07Speaker 1: the best quality cannabis at the fairest prices, so whether
- 34:11Speaker 1: you're stocking up for the tailgate, the watch party, or
- 34:14Speaker 1: celebrating a big win, you know you're getting the good
- 34:17Speaker 1: stuff without overpaying. They even show love to the community
- 34:21Speaker 1: with specials for fans, students, service members, and healthcare pros.
- 34:26Speaker 1: Camedn Apothecary, Top quality cannabis, great prices, and an experience
- 34:31Speaker 1: made for Philly fans twenty one and up. So really,
- 34:35Speaker 1: I think the last two weeks we've given everybody a
- 34:37Speaker 1: good vignette and visual on what VIC is now doing,
- 34:42Speaker 1: how the front four itself is getting the job done
- 34:45Speaker 1: and less blitzing now that Nolan Smith's back, Now that
- 34:49Speaker 1: they've got Jaylen Phillips. Now you've got Brandon Graham who
- 34:51Speaker 1: had a nice we didn't show it, but he had
- 34:53Speaker 1: a pretty Yeah.
- 34:55Speaker 2: You know, he's just a rotational guy, but but yeah
- 34:58Speaker 2: he gets a few snaps.
- 34:59Speaker 1: Yeah. And and clearly Nikobe Dean has not only stabilized
- 35:03Speaker 1: the defense, like you're saying, they're making so many checks
- 35:05Speaker 1: and I think that is his specialty, yeah, but also
- 35:08Speaker 1: adding a violent element to it. It's front seven guy
- 35:11Speaker 1: like Quina Mitchell on the back end.
- 35:13Speaker 2: And by the way, you're seeing just what happens over time.
- 35:17Speaker 2: You know, everybody early in the season, you know, Macouba
- 35:19Speaker 2: made some mistakes and it's like, oh my god. And
- 35:22Speaker 2: I was telling people, you know, hey, this takes time.
- 35:24Speaker 2: He's a rookie. We haven't seen those kinds of mistakes
- 35:26Speaker 2: over the last month or so. Doesn't mean he's never
- 35:29Speaker 2: going to make one. You know, they're human beings. It's
- 35:31Speaker 2: the NFL. But I mean, you just haven't seen mccoba
- 35:34Speaker 2: is playing with much better I discipline, you know, I mean,
- 35:37Speaker 2: everything is starting. You know, it's reps. You got to
- 35:40Speaker 2: play in this league. This league's hard. I happen to
- 35:43Speaker 2: hear a statement today you know, I hear random things
- 35:46Speaker 2: because you know, I'm watching tape all day, but every
- 35:48Speaker 2: once in a while, I just check out some things.
- 35:50Speaker 2: You know. Dion Dawkins of the Bills was talking about
- 35:53Speaker 2: Keyon Coleman, you know, who obviously was a healthy scratch
- 35:56Speaker 2: for the Bills this week because he missed a meeting
- 35:58Speaker 2: and you know, and Dawkins gave a great answer to
- 36:01Speaker 2: the question, you know, and he was basically saying, hey, man,
- 36:04Speaker 2: this league is hard. You know, it's hard to be
- 36:06Speaker 2: a good player. It's hard to do this every week.
- 36:08Speaker 2: I mean it's hard. You know, you don't just step
- 36:11Speaker 2: in and have it all figured out week one or two.
- 36:15Speaker 2: You know, it's hard.
- 36:16Speaker 1: I mean port Nakobe has paid the price for being
- 36:18Speaker 1: a very good, violent player and a body that hasn't
- 36:22Speaker 1: been able to really you know, hold up for him,
- 36:24Speaker 1: and so he's had to come back from some really
- 36:26Speaker 1: debilitating injuries to your point, you know, to be in
- 36:29Speaker 1: this position. But he's always very studious and a good leader.
- 36:33Speaker 1: But yeah, this game it'll take a toll on you
- 36:35Speaker 1: in some way.
- 36:36Speaker 2: Yeah, it's hard.
- 36:37Speaker 1: Yeah, all right, good stuff. Well the Eagles, it looks hard,
- 36:40Speaker 1: but those are making defense look really easy and they're
- 36:42Speaker 1: having a good time, not so much on the offensive end,
- 36:46Speaker 1: and we'll discuss that in part two of our show.
- 36:49Speaker 1: So for Greg Gosell, I'm Jeff Mosher. You've been watching
- 36:52Speaker 1: Inside the Tape with Greg Cosell on Inside the Birds
- 37:01Speaker 1: Anderson
