- 0:00When the strong get tired, not weak, not lazy,
- 0:06tired. In this powerful episode of Pomoja Podcast,
- 0:11I expose the hidden system of exhaustion and
- 0:14how constant pressure, busyness, and fatigue
- 0:18can slowly pull believers away from prayer, from
- 0:21intimacy with God, and from spiritual discipline.
- 0:25This is not just about being busy. It is about
- 0:29protecting your spiritual life. A timely message
- 0:32for every believer carrying pressure, responsibility,
- 0:37leadership, family, ministry, and exhaustion.
- 0:42Because exhaustion is not just a condition, it
- 0:46can become a weapon. Welcome to Pomona Podcasts,
- 0:52a ministry of Life of Christ International. where
- 0:55we build stronger lives, deeper faith, and Christ
- 0:58-centered foundations. One story, one message,
- 1:02and one revelation at a time. I'm your host,
- 1:05Barry Mwamba. Welcome back to another episode
- 1:09of Pomonga Podcast. Today, I want to share something
- 1:13that has been pressing on my heart lately. Not
- 1:16just a thought, but a spiritual reality many
- 1:20believers are living without recognizing it.
- 1:23Fatigue. The struggle of being tired. The struggle
- 1:28of exhaustion. When the strong get tired. But
- 1:32before we go further, let me establish something
- 1:35clearly. Being tired is normal. Even Jesus, 100
- 1:41% God and 100 % man, experience physical fatigue.
- 1:47We see Jesus sleeping in the boat. We see moments
- 1:50where he withdrew from people. We see him resting
- 1:54in Martha's house. We see him sitting at the
- 1:57well before speaking to the Samaritan woman.
- 2:01Remember, back then, people walked miles when
- 2:04traveling. So yes, our master Jesus Christ experienced
- 2:10physical exhaustion. So being tired is not the
- 2:14problem. Work is not the problem either. The
- 2:18Bible says, by the sweat of your brow, you shall
- 2:21eat. A consequence of Adam and Eve's fall. Human
- 2:26labor, difficult toil, hard work for survival.
- 2:30And Paul said, if a man does not work, he shall
- 2:34not eat. So let me make this clear. I am not
- 2:38promoting laziness. I am not defending irresponsibility.
- 2:44We work to make a living. But the issue begins
- 2:47when work takes priority. over what sustains
- 2:51you spiritually. Because there is a system, a
- 2:55hidden system, busy, distracted, occupied, consumed,
- 3:02always chasing something, success, money, stability,
- 3:07recognition. And while you are chasing, something
- 3:11else is happening. Your time is being consumed.
- 3:15Your energy is being drained. Your spiritual
- 3:18margin is disappearing. You wake up tired. You
- 3:23go through the day tired. You go to bed tired.
- 3:26And somehow you still have to get up and do it
- 3:30all over again. Because life does not pause.
- 3:34Responsibilities don't wait. Bills don't stop.
- 3:38People still expect from you. So you keep going.
- 3:43You wake up running. Your body is moving. Your
- 3:47mind is racing. your thoughts never stop. From
- 3:51morning to night, you are in constant motion.
- 3:55And eventually, you have nothing left. Not because
- 3:59you don't care, but because you are depleted.
- 4:02And that is where the danger begins. Not always
- 4:06in rebellion, but in normalized fatigue, justified
- 4:11exhaustion, accepted neglect, impacting your
- 4:15time with God. impacting your relationship with
- 4:19God impacting your intimacy with the Holy Spirit
- 4:23and little by little your time with God starts
- 4:27fading not intentionally but gradually because
- 4:31exhaustion does not announce itself as danger
- 4:34it presents itself as normal life here's what
- 4:38you must understand exhaustion has a target you
- 4:43more specifically your spiritual life your prayer
- 4:47life, your stillness, your connection with God,
- 4:51your sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, your hunger
- 4:54for the Word of God, your commitment to gather,
- 4:58to serve, and remain planted in the house of
- 5:00God. Not because you rejected God, but because
- 5:04you had nothing left to give Him. And this is
- 5:08where the enemy becomes subtle. Because the enemy
- 5:11does not always need you to stop believing in
- 5:13God. Sometimes he only needs you too exhausted
- 5:17to seek him consistently. Since the Garden of
- 5:21Eden, it has always been the enemy's strategy
- 5:24to separate humanity from the presence of God.
- 5:28And the enemy will use anything meant for good
- 5:31and attempt to turn it into a weapon. Even work,
- 5:36even opportunities, even success. A simple thing
- 5:40like physical exhaustion can become a weapon
- 5:43used to slowly pull believers away from prayer,
- 5:47from worship, from intimacy with God, from meditating
- 5:51on his word, from hearing his voice, and from
- 5:54remaining spiritually alert. And hear me carefully,
- 5:59it is not God who walks away from us. Most of
- 6:03the time, we are the ones who slowly walk away
- 6:07from his presence, away from the place where
- 6:10we are restored. refreshed, strengthened, corrected,
- 6:15forgiven, renewed. The place where burdens break,
- 6:20the place where peace returns, the place where
- 6:23direction becomes clear again. So we must become
- 6:27aware of this spiritual reality and we must act
- 6:30on it. Do you want to know whether something
- 6:34is truly God's will for your life? Ask yourself
- 6:37this, does it bring me closer to God? or farther
- 6:41from him, because God's blessings will always
- 6:45align you with his purpose. Anything that takes
- 6:48priority in your life over God eventually becomes
- 6:52your God. And anything that consistently pulls
- 6:56you away from God's presence, from kingdom priorities,
- 7:00from fellowship, from serving, from worship,
- 7:03must be reevaluated. If it keeps you away from
- 7:07church, If it weakens your intimacy with God,
- 7:11if it challenges your Christian identity, if
- 7:15it slowly removes you from the things that keep
- 7:17your spirit alive, then you must discern it carefully.
- 7:22Find work, build a life, create success, but
- 7:27never at the cost of your spiritual life. Protect
- 7:31your time by establishing spiritual discipline.
- 7:34Give God priority even in your busiest seasons.
- 7:38Return to prayer. Return to stillness. Return
- 7:43to his presence. Jesus often had busy days ahead
- 7:47of him, yet he still withdrew to pray, before
- 7:51sunrise, in solitude, away from the noise. And
- 7:56since realizing this truth, it does not matter
- 7:59how physically exhausted I may be. I still give
- 8:03God the first hours of my day. Not only because
- 8:07I understand this spiritual reality, but because
- 8:10I now understand how deeply I need Him. His guidance,
- 8:15His presence, His protection, His strength, His
- 8:19wisdom, His anointing, His peace. Without Him,
- 8:24we slowly empty ourselves trying to survive life
- 8:28alone. So I leave you with this. Slow down before
- 8:33something forces you to. Rebuild what exhaustion
- 8:37has weakened. Reclaim your intimacy with God.
- 8:42Because exhaustion is not just a condition, it
- 8:46can become a weapon. This is your turning point.
- 8:52Let's pray. Father, in the name of Jesus, I lift
- 8:56up every person under the sound of my voice.
- 9:00those who are tired, those who are exhausted,
- 9:04those who have been running without recovering.
- 9:07Father, we come back to you. Forgive us for the
- 9:11moments we let life take priority over your presence.
- 9:15Restore alignment. Reset our priorities. Teach
- 9:20us to protect our time with you, to return to
- 9:24our place of prayer, to seek you with intention
- 9:27again. Father, renew our strength, bring back
- 9:32clarity, bring back peace, and open our eyes
- 9:37to recognize what is draining us and pulling
- 9:40us away from you. From today, we choose you first
- 9:46in our time, in our decisions, in our daily lives.
- 9:52In Jesus' name, amen. Stay with me because in
- 9:58part two, we go deeper not just physical exhaustion
- 10:02but what it does to your spiritual life if this
- 10:07message blessed you don't keep it to yourself
