- 0:01Speaker 1: Boys and girls, loved ones of all ages. We are here.
- 0:03Speaker 1: We are back with another episode of Busting with the Boys,
- 0:06Speaker 1: Episode two thirty five. Lots to talk about, Oh you
- 0:11Speaker 1: put your hand on like five, two thirty five. Lots
- 0:14Speaker 1: to talk about, But you know what, I am a
- 0:16Speaker 1: little tired. I'll get into that in a second. Right
- 0:17Speaker 1: after this ad, read about how my night went last night,
- 0:20Speaker 1: because this is this is not only a podcast for
- 0:22Speaker 1: the boys by the boys, but it is also my
- 0:24Speaker 1: own therapeutic session, therapy session that I need to vent
- 0:28Speaker 1: in on a daily basis. If I could just get
- 0:29Speaker 1: that ad read up, I swear to God, I'll read it.
- 0:32Speaker 1: Just need that thing to be popped up. Summer is here.
- 0:34Speaker 1: What better way to take advantage of all it has
- 0:35Speaker 1: to offer them with the Chevy Silverado Silverado Summer think
- 0:38Speaker 1: of all the possibilities from off throat adventures to DIY
- 0:40Speaker 1: projects and hardcore works. Silver Ado has a capability and
- 0:44Speaker 1: technology to make this Summer the best one ever. With
- 0:47Speaker 1: nine different Silverado model to choose from the engines that
- 0:50Speaker 1: rain what and engines that range from a powerful Turmo
- 0:53Speaker 1: Max to a six point two liter V eight and
- 0:55Speaker 1: the Duramax thaksl. You can count on Chevy power in
- 1:00Speaker 1: foremost to get anything done. Like many of you, We've
- 1:02Speaker 1: been hitting the road a lot lately, and it seems
- 1:04Speaker 1: like everywhere we go there's an army of Silverado and
- 1:07Speaker 1: Silverado owners. So shout out to all of you game
- 1:10Speaker 1: recognize game, head over to Chevy dot com and check
- 1:13Speaker 1: out Silverado and all the Chevy trucks, the official truck,
- 1:17Speaker 1: a bus with the boys.
- 1:18Speaker 2: Hey, how nice is it when we do Collin Uber
- 1:20Speaker 2: and it is a Chevy Silverado.
- 1:22Speaker 1: There's nothing better. It makes the bogs go a whole
- 1:25Speaker 1: lot better because we know what we kind of have
- 1:26Speaker 1: to do on the back end. Can't be showing those
- 1:28Speaker 1: other vehicles, but we're in a drive those big conversations
- 1:31Speaker 1: like from New York to Vegas when I was really
- 1:34Speaker 1: putting my place in the best way possible. I grew
- 1:36Speaker 1: as a man during that And if we weren't in
- 1:37Speaker 1: a Chevy, we might not be able to capture those
- 1:40Speaker 1: kind of moments. So that is extremely special. And the
- 1:43Speaker 1: guys who drive the Chevy, dude, they just kind of
- 1:45Speaker 1: you can tell you feel a little safer, the tires
- 1:47Speaker 1: grip a little bit better, the suspension is a little
- 1:49Speaker 1: bit better. You can just you know you're gonna get
- 1:50Speaker 1: from point to point B with safety, style and comfort.
- 1:54Speaker 1: But listen, I'm a little exhausted today. There was a
- 1:58Speaker 1: tragedy in the lul One household last night. My kids
- 2:03Speaker 1: and I we do chorn every single night. My daughter,
- 2:06Speaker 1: my oldest daughter, wins, she goes, she gets the eggs
- 2:08Speaker 1: from the chickens. We I'll tell you what. I want
- 2:13Speaker 1: to talk about that too, because there was a fucking
- 2:15Speaker 1: deal last week right during the UFC fight. So I'm
- 2:18Speaker 1: actually glad you guys didn't come over for it. We'll
- 2:20Speaker 1: park in that too. This might be a little vent
- 2:22Speaker 1: session for me today. I go troll on my kids.
- 2:25Speaker 1: We got bunnies, we got chickens, we got aw singular duck,
- 2:29Speaker 1: we got goats, and we got a great Pyrenees to
- 2:30Speaker 1: watch our goats. And every day we go and we
- 2:32Speaker 1: do the chorn together, because these kids need to know responsibilities,
- 2:34Speaker 1: and if we're gonna have all these animals, then obviously
- 2:37Speaker 1: they're gonna have to learn X, Y and Z about
- 2:39Speaker 1: these things to keep his little bastards alive. So we go.
- 2:41Speaker 1: Win hits the chickens as she always does. Ghost picks
- 2:43Speaker 1: out all the eggs, does an amazing job. She has
- 2:45Speaker 1: a little basket that's incredible. Their favorite part is going
- 2:47Speaker 1: to see the bunnies, because part of the bunnies is
- 2:49Speaker 1: they stay out there. They're cute and adorable. They bring nothing,
- 2:52Speaker 1: but they're essentially loitering in my house. They don't really
- 2:54Speaker 1: bring anything to the table. However, they love to hold them.
- 2:58Speaker 1: They love the pet them, and it is kind of
- 2:59Speaker 1: an opportunity to them a little more friendly when it
- 3:01Speaker 1: comes to hand to hand combat with between a kid
- 3:02Speaker 1: and a little tiny bunny. I go to open the
- 3:04Speaker 1: door and I see her, our biggest bunny, Easter. There's
- 3:07Speaker 1: three bunnies. There's Easter, Snickerdodle in spot. Easter is kind
- 3:11Speaker 1: of just laying there. I'm like, yo, that's weird. Easter's
- 3:14Speaker 1: usually got a little more peppin as step. He's a
- 3:16Speaker 1: big bunny. He likes to rip around a little bit,
- 3:18Speaker 1: and as soon as hears the door opening, he likes
- 3:20Speaker 1: to get outside. Because those kids can be a little
- 3:21Speaker 1: messy with the whole deal. I open it up and
- 3:24Speaker 1: I know right away, this bunny's dead. Is a fucking
- 3:27Speaker 1: door knumb This bunny has seen its last day, and
- 3:31Speaker 1: I just think to myself, Oh, fuck, when my six
- 3:33Speaker 1: year old is going to see this and she's gonna
- 3:35Speaker 1: shit her pants. I go, oh, what's Easter doing over here?
- 3:38Speaker 1: And she's like, grab him. I want to hold them,
- 3:40Speaker 1: and I look at him and I there's no way
- 3:42Speaker 1: around it. I have to face my children and let
- 3:44Speaker 1: him know that the Good Lord took this bunny from
- 3:47Speaker 1: us and is now hopefully in bunny Heaven. I don't
- 3:50Speaker 1: know this guy's backstory. I don't know what he's doing
- 3:52Speaker 1: when I'm not around, but we're gonna hope he's made
- 3:53Speaker 1: it to heaven. My daughter takes a deep breath, stares
- 3:57Speaker 1: at him, and just starts to fucking lose it. Man.
- 4:00Speaker 1: She starts to cry, and she's talking about how great
- 4:03Speaker 1: of a bunny he was and all the things he's
- 4:04Speaker 1: done for our family and all this stuff. And I'm thinking,
- 4:07Speaker 1: this bunny really didn't do that much. But I'm so
- 4:10Speaker 1: glad that her heart is so pure and beautiful to
- 4:13Speaker 1: where that she's looking at this bunny's a beautiful line.
- 4:16Speaker 1: I'm starting to remind her we've had two bunnies in
- 4:17Speaker 1: the past, and Meatball and Jeff. They've passed away and
- 4:21Speaker 1: now they're probably now Easter is probably with Meatball and
- 4:24Speaker 1: Jeff now, and like what a beautiful thing because Jeff
- 4:26Speaker 1: with was Easter's brother, like they were boys. And uh,
- 4:29Speaker 1: last summer Jeff found his demise, which actually hurt me
- 4:32Speaker 1: probably the most. Jeff was my favorite bunny of the crew.
- 4:35Speaker 1: I named him and uh, yes, Jack, I might have
- 4:39Speaker 1: missed this.
- 4:39Speaker 3: How did this most recent bunny pass just national causes?
- 4:43Speaker 1: I don't know, he's only two years old. I have
- 4:45Speaker 1: no idea. We're still we're gonna we're gonna send him in.
- 4:47Speaker 1: We're gonna send him in and we're gonna figure out
- 4:49Speaker 1: what happened to this poor bunny. Because bunnies, if you're
- 4:51Speaker 1: looking up how long bunnies live, it's about eight years
- 4:53Speaker 1: in captivity. I've already checked that because I thought, is
- 4:55Speaker 1: that an old age for a bunny? It wasn't. And
- 4:58Speaker 1: like this last week has been really hot outside and
- 5:00Speaker 1: that's how the last bunny went versus back hind legs
- 5:02Speaker 1: went And it was kind of a sad little deal
- 5:03Speaker 1: to see him kind of dragging them legs around. That's
- 5:05Speaker 1: a whole bit of a deal. This is a kids show.
- 5:07Speaker 1: I'm not going to bring that into everything. But it
- 5:09Speaker 1: was very sad now easter as door on. I'm stiff
- 5:13Speaker 1: as a board. My daughter's losing her fucking mind. I
- 5:15Speaker 1: did look into it. It was a cool day yesterday. It
- 5:17Speaker 1: was kind of overcast, a little bit breezy, like it
- 5:19Speaker 1: was great. It was a great day to be a
- 5:20Speaker 1: bunny in the outside. So I have no idea how
- 5:22Speaker 1: this bunny died. We I gotta I gotta look into
- 5:24Speaker 1: it a little bit more. I'm consoling my daughter. I
- 5:27Speaker 1: I owe, you want to build him a grave?
- 5:29Speaker 4: Do you want to?
- 5:29Speaker 1: You want to make him a grave? And she's like
- 5:31Speaker 1: sniffling yes, and I'm like, okay, yeah, well we'll build
- 5:34Speaker 1: him a grave, sweetie. Like it's gonna We're gonna have
- 5:36Speaker 1: a nice little eulogy for the bunny. It's seven forty
- 5:38Speaker 1: five at this point. Like my kids, I started to
- 5:40Speaker 1: put them down at six forty five, all right, they
- 5:42Speaker 1: get themselves. They get an easy twelve hours of sleep
- 5:44Speaker 1: every single day. That's kind of that I am, because
- 5:46Speaker 1: we have fucking a good little regiment going. But at
- 5:48Speaker 1: seven forty five, so already hour past the bedtime. It
- 5:50Speaker 1: is what it is. I start to dig into this
- 5:53Speaker 1: fucking ground. Boys, I was with the shovel for twenty minutes,
- 5:58Speaker 1: twenty goddamn minutes, show trying to get in, literally jumping
- 6:01Speaker 1: on top of the shovel just to get it a
- 6:03Speaker 1: little bit deeper. I got that motherfucker four inches deep.
- 6:08Speaker 1: Max Max, dude, and I think eight, it's not gonna
- 6:14Speaker 1: this is this is it. I'm gonna come back later.
- 6:16Speaker 1: I'm gonna give the bunny the old fucking the catapult,
- 6:19Speaker 1: send him, send him on his way, send him flying
- 6:21Speaker 1: in style like that'ses gon't have to happen to this
- 6:23Speaker 1: poor damn bunny. But we got to look out for
- 6:26Speaker 1: the rest of the crew. We can't have put his
- 6:27Speaker 1: roll around. So we get like a stake and we
- 6:29Speaker 1: put it down. That sounds tombstone and wind gives. By god,
- 6:33Speaker 1: what a well spoken six year old gives the most
- 6:35Speaker 1: beautiful eulogy. It almost brought a tear to my eye.
- 6:37Speaker 1: And then the rest of the night, until about ten
- 6:40Speaker 1: eleven o'clock a night, was me essentially consoling her. My
- 6:43Speaker 1: three year old is a psychopath. She looked at this bunny,
- 6:46Speaker 1: she goes, is it dead? I say, yeah, it's dead,
- 6:48Speaker 1: and she goes okay, and then kind of went about
- 6:51Speaker 1: her married business. We're gonna have to unpack that later
- 6:54Speaker 1: because that's a little scary. She's a suspect, she is
- 6:56Speaker 1: she might be a suspect in this whole thing. She
- 6:59Speaker 1: might be a It was kind of a That was
- 7:01Speaker 1: a weird deal, but I feel like we'll definitely get
- 7:03Speaker 1: to that later in life. I got to deal with
- 7:04Speaker 1: this fiberl who's losing your mind. She wants to call everybody.
- 7:07Speaker 1: And this is the worst part. I had to grab
- 7:10Speaker 1: the bunny and I had to put the bunny in
- 7:11Speaker 1: its shallow grave. And as I'm grabbing the bunny, like
- 7:16Speaker 1: Riga Mortis has truly set in his eyes all squished
- 7:19Speaker 1: on one side because the boy was laying on his
- 7:20Speaker 1: right side when I picked him up, and I pick
- 7:22Speaker 1: him up, but the other eyes wide open. And seeing
- 7:25Speaker 1: the eye wide open for my daughter gave her a
- 7:28Speaker 1: glimmer of hope and now then so pain like it
- 7:33Speaker 1: was happiness to see the bunnies, horrible pain to see
- 7:37Speaker 1: death of a bunny, glimmer of hope to see an
- 7:40Speaker 1: eye open. Maybe he was tricking us the whole time
- 7:42Speaker 1: to now we have to restart the whole sadness of
- 7:45Speaker 1: everything that really kicked off the night for the little
- 7:47Speaker 1: one household. My wife, God love her. She's in Italy,
- 7:50Speaker 1: having the time of her fucking life, ripping around Italian boys,
- 7:52Speaker 1: pluck salivating all over her. Good for her. We all
- 7:55Speaker 1: need that. We all need a boost once in a while.
- 7:57Speaker 1: You know, you go out when we go on spring
- 7:59Speaker 1: football tour and there's you know, one girl that's like, oh, yeah,
- 8:01Speaker 1: you're you know, handsome boy or whatever. We've all gotten
- 8:03Speaker 1: a compliment. You're like, yeah, I fucking needed that, So
- 8:06Speaker 1: good for her. I'm dealing with this at home and
- 8:09Speaker 1: it's a bit of a fucking deal. So that's how
- 8:12Speaker 1: I feel. In a more positive light. JPG has something
- 8:15Speaker 1: to say.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Brother, I was just gonna say you talking about how
- 8:18Speaker 2: shallow it was. I feel like, uh, Wayne's gonna be
- 8:20Speaker 2: running around in the backyard.
- 8:21Speaker 1: She like, trip over the mouth, dude. Okay, it's all
- 8:25Speaker 1: tucked away where they don't really run. So that's one positive.
- 8:28Speaker 1: But this morning it was I want to see easter.
- 8:30Speaker 1: I want to see it's already raining outside, and I
- 8:33Speaker 1: know that a predator's probably dug down by the rock.
- 8:35Speaker 1: I haven't been out there. I haven't been to the
- 8:37Speaker 1: site yet. You know, Willow's feet were a little money
- 8:39Speaker 1: this morning, which makes me a little worried. She was
- 8:41Speaker 1: out there finishing the job and the other buddies. But
- 8:43Speaker 1: fuck dude, Like I literally was like, we can't see
- 8:46Speaker 1: him right now because it's raining. Aside, they praise Jesus,
- 8:49Speaker 1: it was raining outside today. You know your boy doesn't
- 8:51Speaker 1: like rain, but thank God, right, and so I'm thinking
- 8:54Speaker 1: that motherfucker's probably slipping slide around this property somewhere, and
- 8:57Speaker 1: I'm to go find his ass later. Hopefully a bob
- 8:59Speaker 1: kept something that can stack them up for me. Do
- 9:01Speaker 1: the boy a favor. So that is that is a
- 9:04Speaker 1: big fear and a more positive light. Nine minutes and
- 9:08Speaker 1: eighteen seconds into this podcast, the Beer Olympics officially come
- 9:12Speaker 1: out in the blog and it did take over a month,
- 9:15Speaker 1: but I would like the boys to give JP a
- 9:18Speaker 1: round of apostle. Putting that thing together that was it
- 9:21Speaker 1: wasn't art, I truly, brother. It's a forty five minute
- 9:24Speaker 1: long video and I've watched it on four separate occasions
- 9:26Speaker 1: and I genuinely laugh. I was there, but it's so
- 9:29Speaker 1: fun to see the different dynamics, the confession corner, all that,
- 9:33Speaker 1: I get fucking mad, I get fucking angry as fuck
- 9:37Speaker 1: sing Kittle and to Forrest Buckner. But sometimes you need
- 9:42Speaker 1: those losses to put things into perspective and really to
- 9:44Speaker 1: jump yourself to the next deal. Like we well and
- 9:46Speaker 1: I got to get in the film room. We gotta
- 9:48Speaker 1: take the coaching the way we need to take it,
- 9:49Speaker 1: and get on the practice field and start a little
- 9:52Speaker 1: early in the practice. I'm thinking as soon as possible
- 9:55Speaker 1: when I get back from Canada, which I'm leaving for tomorrow,
- 9:58Speaker 1: and he's already going to be back, get in. We
- 10:00Speaker 1: get in the get in the lab a little bit,
- 10:01Speaker 1: and start working. One thing I didn't notice during the
- 10:05Speaker 1: Olympics was him having a ping pong ball in his hand.
- 10:09Speaker 1: That was wild, And I was texting with him yesterday
- 10:12Speaker 1: about it, which would be Wednesday. This is Thursday. This
- 10:14Speaker 1: podcast is coming out Tuesday. He I was like, I
- 10:17Speaker 1: genuinely don't believe you actually cheated on purpose, and he
- 10:21Speaker 1: via text you can't read emotion. He really seemed like
- 10:24Speaker 1: I wasn't cheating, and I have no choice but to
- 10:27Speaker 1: believe that. Man, he's a man of character. He is.
- 10:29Speaker 1: He's a man of characters. So for those of you
- 10:31Speaker 1: who see that and think will scummy for it, I
- 10:33Speaker 1: would do that. I will tell you right now, you
- 10:36Speaker 1: give me an inch, im a thick a mile when
- 10:37Speaker 1: it comes to those kind of competitions, I'm gonna do that.
- 10:39Speaker 1: Will not the individual James Neil dead to this family,
- 10:46Speaker 1: dead to us. He'll never be invited back to the
- 10:48Speaker 1: house again. I see it. It's just like a fresh muan.
- 10:50Speaker 1: Every single time I see him put his ass in
- 10:52Speaker 1: my face. And so I'm trying to pick up that
- 10:53Speaker 1: ping pong ball. What a fucking time. Was there a
- 10:55Speaker 1: special moment for you guys that maybe wasn't on film
- 10:57Speaker 1: that you loved so much? Excuse me?
- 11:06Speaker 4: The whole like you guys wrestling in the pool I
- 11:09Speaker 4: thought was hilarious.
- 11:09Speaker 5: I love that, But I mean we were all kind
- 11:12Speaker 5: of sober dealing with a bunch of drunk people.
- 11:14Speaker 1: So yeah, that had to be a fucking deal for
- 11:16Speaker 1: you guys, huh for sure? Yeah, anybody else, just feel
- 11:20Speaker 1: good about it.
- 11:22Speaker 6: God, you got it.
- 11:23Speaker 3: This has had nothing to do with beer Olympics, but
- 11:25Speaker 3: it took place at it.
- 11:26Speaker 1: The boys are obviously.
- 11:27Speaker 3: Grinding all day didn't get to eat much. And at
- 11:30Speaker 3: one point during the end of the day, me and
- 11:32Speaker 3: Mitch went absolutely house on this to go thingle wings
- 11:36Speaker 3: from Martin's and we're like, we're just gonna like one
- 11:39Speaker 3: or two, and like, no, lie, we probably both took
- 11:41Speaker 3: down like twelve wings in like ten minutes. Yeah, just
- 11:45Speaker 3: kept going one more, one more, and like we're just
- 11:47Speaker 3: walking around ear and so for me personally, that was
- 11:51Speaker 3: a great moment.
- 11:51Speaker 1: And then getting food during beer Olympics was your first moment? Yeah,
- 11:54Speaker 1: I get that, I get it.
- 11:56Speaker 2: I wish I wish we would have thought sad a
- 11:58Speaker 2: little more. But he should give out some accolades. Yeah, yeah,
- 12:04Speaker 2: some superlatives I'm gonna have for Google superlatives later. Is
- 12:06Speaker 2: that's essentially the word for accolades?
- 12:09Speaker 1: Yeah? Yeah, okay, okay, okay, Yeah, I'm super down with that.
- 12:15Speaker 1: Is there something that comes to mind of Nah?
- 12:16Speaker 2: Yeah, And would you saying an MVP to me based
- 12:20Speaker 2: off the footage has gotta be dfo really?
- 12:24Speaker 1: Yeah, he crushed it every game, dude, seeing him hit
- 12:28Speaker 1: that shot glass and getting the slow moo shot. Who
- 12:31Speaker 1: got that shot? Uh? Yeah, wasn't it Mitch? Nice work, dude?
- 12:37Speaker 1: Because it was perfect. I watched that video before it
- 12:39Speaker 1: came out with Nick Bennett and his father and literally
- 12:41Speaker 1: he throws it on the ping pun ball and they
- 12:43Speaker 1: hit and he thinks a shot and he's like, man,
- 12:44Speaker 1: it would have been great if he had slow mo.
- 12:46Speaker 1: Seriously cuts right to the slow mo. I was like, Fuck,
- 12:49Speaker 1: these boys are really fucking on top of it. Dude.
- 12:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, dude, divorce like that whole all of
- 12:54Speaker 2: the beer ball games, he's not missing and like they
- 12:58Speaker 2: were getting screwed a lot with like how much was
- 13:01Speaker 2: left in his thing.
- 13:02Speaker 1: Yeah, there's gotta be a rule on that, for sure.
- 13:05Speaker 1: We gotta we got to iron out some rules for sure.
- 13:07Speaker 1: I play. I was at Kittle Fests a week after,
- 13:09Speaker 1: two weeks after, and he's got a whole different way
- 13:11Speaker 1: he plays beer ball, where you literally have to like
- 13:14Speaker 1: like blowing the can, make sure there's not one drop
- 13:16Speaker 1: and hold it over your head for three seconds, and
- 13:19Speaker 1: if there's one drop, you have a whole new beer.
- 13:23Speaker 1: I think that's a fucking I like the way because
- 13:25Speaker 1: it is truly the pure way of playing. However, with
- 13:29Speaker 1: the tempo of the game and how long this Beer
- 13:32Speaker 1: Olympics took, that's not gonna be a rule that's gonna
- 13:34Speaker 1: be put in place, like there needs to be a
- 13:35Speaker 1: little more leniency on how slawshy that can is. At
- 13:37Speaker 1: the end, I get it for the chug because the
- 13:40Speaker 1: chug you're you're supposed to consume the entire beer. But
- 13:43Speaker 1: for the beer ball, it is definitely one of those
- 13:44Speaker 1: things where it's like, get the beer down if there's
- 13:47Speaker 1: a little bit left, it is what it is. But
- 13:49Speaker 1: and then but there needs to be some sort of
- 13:50Speaker 1: measuring stick, which could be a beer beer cap, could
- 13:52Speaker 1: be a shot glass whatever. I thought it was really good.
- 13:56Speaker 1: I thought I thought the boys did a phenomenal fucking
- 13:58Speaker 1: drop during that, dude, and it's been I mean, we
- 14:00Speaker 1: just looked at the numbers a second ago, and that's awesome.
- 14:02Speaker 1: But if you haven't seen it, go check it out.
- 14:04Speaker 1: It is. It is fucking awesome, man. And I also,
- 14:08Speaker 1: one thing we should do is get two fans to
- 14:10Speaker 1: come next year. We should have We should do a
- 14:13Speaker 1: raffle or something and maybe put on an amateur event
- 14:19Speaker 1: and invite ten teams. We're not in it, and we
- 14:22Speaker 1: just the winner of that event comes and plays a
- 14:25Speaker 1: week later a qualifier. How do we feel about that.
- 14:30Speaker 1: It seems like a lot. Yeah, I mean that would
- 14:32Speaker 1: be tough because you'd really tell you boys, if you
- 14:34Speaker 1: guys took it was a hard day's work. It was
- 14:37Speaker 1: a hard day's work doing that.
- 14:38Speaker 2: You'd be hosting two events and ten teams. A lot
- 14:42Speaker 2: of people like bring out here.
- 14:43Speaker 1: And they wouldn't be at my house. We just go somewhere.
- 14:49Speaker 1: We would just go to if we'd go to the
- 14:51Speaker 1: old shed, the old shed we were at behind the
- 14:53Speaker 1: abandoned church. But yeah, dude, what a fucking time? What
- 14:57Speaker 1: a time? Is there anything I'm missing before we hit
- 14:59Speaker 1: some of these pet peeves or anything like that. Yeah.
- 15:02Speaker 1: One thing that actually was a sponsor of Beer Olympics
- 15:05Speaker 1: was Lucy. Dude, have you ever heard of Lucy? By
- 15:07Speaker 1: the way, have you guys ever even heard of that Lucy? Nicotine?
- 15:10Speaker 1: Gum pouches and breakers all had the same thing in common.
- 15:12Speaker 1: No tobacco, powerful nicotine, and delicious flavors. Their Breakers are
- 15:16Speaker 1: next level nicotine pouches which post up in your lip
- 15:19Speaker 1: and chill there, releasing a sweet, sweet nicotine. Breakers have
- 15:23Speaker 1: something that no other pouches do, a little capsule inside
- 15:27Speaker 1: of each one. You get those little boys in there.
- 15:29Speaker 1: They're fantastic. What we laugh? What did I miss something?
- 15:31Speaker 1: Did you bring it with your teeth and release the
- 15:33Speaker 1: nicotine that way? It's much faster. It's much faster than
- 15:36Speaker 1: other pouches. Lucy pouches are heftier than other nicotine pouches,
- 15:39Speaker 1: and they don't get all wet and slippery. Not to mention,
- 15:42Speaker 1: their gum tastes and feels like normal gum if normal
- 15:45Speaker 1: gum had a nicotine kick. Visit Lucy Lucy dot co

- 16:07Speaker 1: big They were a big, big favorite at Beer Olympics,
- 16:11Speaker 1: an absolute favorite at Beer Olympics. But let's hit some
- 16:14Speaker 1: uh we did. We had Neighborurgazi coming on the podcast.
- 16:18Speaker 1: He was incredible, obviously as a Nashville kid. A lot
- 16:21Speaker 1: of stories about being a kid, lawn mowers his first job,
- 16:24Speaker 1: shitty jobs. We have an excellent Duke Cannon. All right, sorry,
- 16:27Speaker 1: not Duke Cannon a dude Wipe segment with him shittiest
- 16:30Speaker 1: time in his life, in his career and what happened
- 16:34Speaker 1: And then obviously the twisted question this week is going
- 16:35Speaker 1: to be him if the drunkes he's really ever been
- 16:38Speaker 1: in those phenomenal story as well. I think you guys
- 16:40Speaker 1: will really do that. With that being said, let's set
- 16:43Speaker 1: some shout out no free shoutout. Jape will start with
- 16:45Speaker 1: you the Mike's closest.
- 16:47Speaker 2: My shout out no free shout out. This morning, I
- 16:50Speaker 2: was at Cracker Barrel and we had an amazing waitress, Roberta,
- 16:56Speaker 2: and she even just my shot. No free shoutout goes
- 16:59Speaker 2: to waitresses that make you feel like they're almost like
- 17:03Speaker 2: act like your mom.
- 17:03Speaker 1: How they talk to you, They're like, what can I
- 17:05Speaker 1: get for you today? Baby?
- 17:07Speaker 7: Yeah?
- 17:07Speaker 2: You just start rubbing your shoulder and like exactly. It
- 17:10Speaker 2: just makes you feel so good, you feel so welcome,
- 17:13Speaker 2: you feel so safe. So I would like to shout
- 17:15Speaker 2: out those waitresses that make me feel like they're little boy.
- 17:18Speaker 1: Shout out over handsy waitresses, Yes, I love that.
- 17:21Speaker 3: How many stars did you have on our a prind
- 17:23Speaker 3: you now?
- 17:24Speaker 5: Oh?
- 17:24Speaker 3: I don't know because the cracker brower waitress. They have
- 17:27Speaker 3: like a ranking system. I think in how many years
- 17:30Speaker 3: you've been if you get a five star waitress, like
- 17:32Speaker 3: you're dealing with some shit older. No.
- 17:36Speaker 2: I mean she's probably forties maybe, but looked like she
- 17:40Speaker 2: was in her twenties.
- 17:41Speaker 1: Wow, Roberta. So she was kind of a rocket too. Huh.
- 17:44Speaker 1: Who are you with? Uh?
- 17:46Speaker 2: Donnie and some other guys you know those roommate Donnie,
- 17:50Speaker 2: extra mate, extra made Donnie.
- 17:52Speaker 1: Yeah, I love Donnie. He's the best. Did you when
- 17:57Speaker 1: I go.
- 18:01Speaker 4: My uh my shout?
- 18:04Speaker 5: I don't know if your shout out this week goes
- 18:06Speaker 5: to uh, just like a fresh loaf of bread that's
- 18:09Speaker 5: super soft. It just makes your sandwiches so much better.
- 18:16Speaker 5: It's just like it just takes your sandwiches to the
- 18:18Speaker 5: next level. You know, you're got to get that like
- 18:20Speaker 5: not stale, but it's just like a little bit more
- 18:22Speaker 5: like crusty or a little bit like just not as soft,
- 18:25Speaker 5: but you get that that's soft bread.
- 18:28Speaker 1: That's soft bread.
- 18:29Speaker 5: Cut it yourself like typically it's like that, like like
- 18:34Speaker 5: or a potato bread like that. Ship's always soft. But
- 18:38Speaker 5: I mean fire fire me up with some soft bread.
- 18:42Speaker 5: And like one thing my mom taught me is this
- 18:46Speaker 5: is a little uh pro tip.
- 18:48Speaker 4: When you go to your your like, uh, grocery store.
- 18:53Speaker 5: Look and you're getting like white bread or wheatbread or
- 18:55Speaker 5: whatever it is, Look at the top of the loaf.
- 18:58Speaker 5: The whiter it is, the more fresh it is, and
- 19:01Speaker 5: the softer it is. So you mean what, that's exactly
- 19:06Speaker 5: what That's exactly what it is. That's exactly how it works.
- 19:08Speaker 6: But the whiter the bread and the better the the
- 19:11Speaker 6: softer it is, the softer it is.
- 19:13Speaker 4: Shout out soft bread.
- 19:14Speaker 1: Wow. People want to say, I don't go to the
- 19:16Speaker 1: grocery store. He didn't even know the word grocery store.
- 19:18Speaker 1: That is kind of crazy. Yeah, I you know, it's
- 19:22Speaker 1: been a busy week. It's been a week. I gotta go.
- 19:26Speaker 1: I gotta go. I gotta go to the grocery store,
- 19:28Speaker 1: and we run a little on grocery. I should probably
- 19:30Speaker 1: head over there today. I go the Whole Foods in
- 19:32Speaker 1: Green Hills. Actually, thanks for asking, Gay. Yeah, I know
- 19:35Speaker 1: the whole fucking place upsided down there so much. Yeah,
- 19:39Speaker 1: you turn it upside down, I'd still be able to
- 19:41Speaker 1: figure my way around there. That's how much I know
- 19:42Speaker 1: the place. Gee, what do you got.
- 19:46Speaker 8: My shout out, no free shout out this week is
- 19:49Speaker 8: So I was at Nickelback on Tuesday Monday with Tuesday
- 19:54Speaker 8: and just scanning the crowd, like I'm a casual Nickelback fan.
- 19:59Speaker 8: I guess know the popular ones, but the people in
- 20:02Speaker 8: the crowd that were having the time of their life.
- 20:05Speaker 8: I just kind of like had an appreciation, like you
- 20:08Speaker 8: just kind of see from a distance like yo, they're
- 20:11Speaker 8: living their best time right now. And I was just
- 20:14Speaker 8: scanning the crowd just like just kind of laughing, like
- 20:17Speaker 8: this is so sick when people have such a love
- 20:20Speaker 8: for something that I'm such a casual fan of.
- 20:23Speaker 1: Yeah, so that's my shout out. Sohow diehard fans, diehard fans,
- 20:26Speaker 1: I love it. The tier ones of Nickelback, Yeah, fucking
- 20:29Speaker 1: in it, just like for Blank Now I do that.
- 20:31Speaker 1: I was gonna ask that question sponsor wise, take away
- 20:35Speaker 1: all the guests they had, because I did. I really
- 20:37Speaker 1: walked into rehab the next day and the receptionist at
- 20:40Speaker 1: the desk she said she went to Nickelback, said, Ernest
- 20:43Speaker 1: was out there, Hardy was out there. Seven people, just
- 20:45Speaker 1: a wild amount of people. So take that away. It
- 20:48Speaker 1: was justly Nickelback or blank withinity two? Same place? How
- 20:52Speaker 1: do we feel?
- 20:53Speaker 4: Same?
- 20:54Speaker 1: Same but different? Which one would would you rather go to?
- 20:58Speaker 8: I mean I would rather go to Blink Good, But
- 21:02Speaker 8: Nickelback is pretty wild.
- 21:06Speaker 1: It flames and ship. There was flames at the thing
- 21:08Speaker 1: at the plank with a too. They had the fog
- 21:10Speaker 1: thing come.
- 21:11Speaker 8: Up to Yeah, I mean, but it was like I
- 21:13Speaker 8: could feel it and I was in the nosebleeds.
- 21:15Speaker 1: Was there was there a drummer suspended in the air.
- 21:18Speaker 8: No, but they were on the pod and so it
- 21:21Speaker 8: felt like I knew them a little.
- 21:22Speaker 1: That is true at the callback of having a familiar
- 21:25Speaker 1: face when you see him on stage having a good Yeah,
- 21:29Speaker 1: she was.
- 21:29Speaker 8: Getting a double pedal and everything. It was like they
- 21:32Speaker 8: were kind of do but I get it. Yeah, Travis
- 21:34Speaker 8: is the best drummer of all time. I don't it's arguable. Yeah, No,
- 21:38Speaker 8: not at all. No, but but it was sick. You
- 21:41Speaker 8: should have gone.
- 21:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I wish I could have with these kids. Man,
- 21:44Speaker 1: these bunnies, these bunnies out here. It's fucking I gotta
- 21:48Speaker 1: keep this livestock alive. I'm rolling Jack. Have you gathered
- 21:51Speaker 1: your thoughts? Holy fuck? This is I mean, gee, I
- 21:58Speaker 1: mean gee, usually he he's had this happen to him twice.
- 22:01Speaker 1: This happened to you once. This is very unlike you.
- 22:03Speaker 3: This would be the first time. But no, I think
- 22:05Speaker 3: my shadout goes to and you. You will not understand this, unfortunately,
- 22:10Speaker 3: because you're rich. Shout out to when you are folding
- 22:15Speaker 3: your laundry, Yeah, and.
- 22:19Speaker 1: Go ahead, and you.
- 22:20Speaker 3: Fold the very last piece, whether it's like a shirt
- 22:23Speaker 3: or usually for me, I leave the socks to the
- 22:25Speaker 3: end to match them all up. And it's one. Your
- 22:28Speaker 3: laundry is officially folded, and you were done with it.
- 22:30Speaker 3: It's like completing a process or a task is very
- 22:34Speaker 3: like calming to me. So once that's done and it's
- 22:36Speaker 3: all lit on the bed, or even just like the
- 22:38Speaker 3: last time you put it into the drawer, it's like,
- 22:41Speaker 3: all right, I accomplish what I needed to do today.
- 22:44Speaker 3: Let's move on to the next next thought.
- 22:48Speaker 1: I wish I could share the same experience.
- 22:50Speaker 8: But but can we jump the pet beef?
- 22:55Speaker 1: We can? In a second, I need to kind of
- 22:57Speaker 1: unpack the fact that the boys in the back don't
- 22:58Speaker 1: think I do anything fucking coup. I do laundry. You
- 23:04Speaker 1: do laundry through my laundry put in the hamper, for
- 23:06Speaker 1: God's sake, in the hamper the last.
- 23:10Speaker 3: Time you washed and folded laundry.
- 23:12Speaker 1: And it's okay.
- 23:13Speaker 3: I want to get to the point where I don't
- 23:15Speaker 3: have been about a decade.
- 23:18Speaker 1: No, not a decade, but it's been about five years
- 23:20Speaker 1: since I've actually done my own laundry.
- 23:22Speaker 3: How do you I think everybody wants to get to
- 23:25Speaker 3: the point where they don't do their laundry anymore. That's
- 23:27Speaker 3: like I've made it.
- 23:28Speaker 1: I hated doing laundry, and I hated color coordinating socks
- 23:32Speaker 1: so much that I never even tried it once.
- 23:34Speaker 3: I don't color coordinate.
- 23:35Speaker 1: I just washed, like like, oh you you just throw
- 23:38Speaker 1: socks together. Yeah, they're two white socks. Maybe they have
- 23:41Speaker 1: a different tower of different heel them. Boys are going together,
- 23:43Speaker 1: enjoy each other, make friends because you guys are gonna
- 23:45Speaker 1: be there for a minute. Okay, you justually want to
- 23:47Speaker 1: put socks on. They go for about forty eight hours.
- 23:51Speaker 1: I'm just gonna let you know. But dirty boy, Yeah,
- 23:55Speaker 1: I fuck up that grocery store though, I'll tell you that.
- 24:00Speaker 1: Oh damn dude. Yeah, you ever seen that interview? It
- 24:05Speaker 1: was like Bill Gates and it was on Ellen I think,
- 24:08Speaker 1: and Ellen's lily quizzing him on like basic grocery products
- 24:10Speaker 1: and how much they are. He're like, car a gallon
- 24:14Speaker 1: of milk and he's like twenty dollars and they're like what,
- 24:17Speaker 1: like what all this? It's fucking how I'm feeling right now.
- 24:20Speaker 1: So I need to get that out. But yeah, we
- 24:22Speaker 1: can go right to pet peeve after I give out
- 24:24Speaker 1: my shott no free shadow. My shott no free shotout
- 24:26Speaker 1: is simple. It could easily be a pet peeve of others.
- 24:29Speaker 1: But it's when the cafeteria is referred to as the
- 24:32Speaker 1: dining hall. I think it gives it a more of
- 24:35Speaker 1: a prestige. It just feels a little bit better when
- 24:38Speaker 1: you where you headed off to and people say instead
- 24:40Speaker 1: of cafeteria, they say, oh, I'm going to the dining
- 24:41Speaker 1: hall right now. It gives it that Hogwarts type of
- 24:45Speaker 1: feel that you're kind of going you're dood little something
- 24:47Speaker 1: extra when legitimately we're kind of staying in line for
- 24:49Speaker 1: the buffet table and the thing has been under heat
- 24:50Speaker 1: lamps for about fifteen to twenty minutes. It's not a
- 24:52Speaker 1: paces because you think, but now it's dining hall, and
- 24:54Speaker 1: I do enjoy the phrase dining hole over cafeteria. What what?
- 25:01Speaker 1: Bro don't say, when was the last time?
- 25:03Speaker 6: Even, don't fucking say that, dude, nine years and then
- 25:09Speaker 6: a couple of years, I'll say ten, nine years in
- 25:11Speaker 6: the league.
- 25:12Speaker 1: There's a cafeteria in there. So I also didn't eat
- 25:17Speaker 1: my food in the cafeteria. Had my food made for
- 25:19Speaker 1: me and I brought that from home. But I go
- 25:22Speaker 1: in the dining hall, Yeah, I would eat there. God
- 25:27Speaker 1: damn it. We gotta send Taylor to camp thru summer camp.
- 25:34Speaker 1: Yeah damn yeah, I do. Uh kind of hate myself
- 25:40Speaker 1: right now. But let's start with g on pet peeve
- 25:42Speaker 1: of the week.
- 25:49Speaker 8: Yeah, so, going off of the momentum of Jack's shout out,
- 25:52Speaker 8: when you finish your laundry, this is something that just
- 25:56Speaker 8: comes with having roommates, But it's when your roommate starts
- 26:02Speaker 8: laundry but then leaves the house and this stuff is
- 26:06Speaker 8: in both the washer and the dryer see mcpheerson. So
- 26:11Speaker 8: I've had a delayed you know, my schedule's shown off.
- 26:15Speaker 1: Yeah, nothing pisses me off more than when my roommates
- 26:18Speaker 1: leave their shit in the washer and dryer. That bugs
- 26:21Speaker 1: the shit out of.
- 26:21Speaker 3: Me and let me just it wasn't just. I left
- 26:25Speaker 3: like normal clothes. I did my sheets and my comforter,
- 26:29Speaker 3: and normally I'll do the comforter every other time I
- 26:33Speaker 3: wash the sheets because it's just the comfort is huge
- 26:36Speaker 3: and it takes a lot. So I had the comforter
- 26:39Speaker 3: being washed, and then I put it in the dryer
- 26:40Speaker 3: and it's so big I can't fit the other stuff
- 26:42Speaker 3: in it. And so the my throw blanket and sheets
- 26:47Speaker 3: are still in the wash soaking what because it didn't
- 26:50Speaker 3: spin them correctly. And then my actual comfort is in
- 26:53Speaker 3: the dryer. I dried the thing three separate times and
- 26:56Speaker 3: it still won't dry. So I did feel bad this morning.
- 27:02Speaker 3: I like go to like see if the comforter is
- 27:05Speaker 3: good still wet. I'm like, did you like do his
- 27:08Speaker 3: stuff and then move mine back in there? I realized
- 27:11Speaker 3: he just took his dirty clothes back upstairs to wait until.
- 27:14Speaker 3: So my pet beave is when your fucking comforter refuses
- 27:18Speaker 3: to dry.
- 27:19Speaker 1: Yeah, it's the comforter too, Yeah, it's on the comforter.
- 27:23Speaker 1: Yeah no, no, you're right.
- 27:24Speaker 3: I I wanted the my sheets to be soaking wet
- 27:27Speaker 3: all night.
- 27:28Speaker 1: Most of us do, so, yeah, that's Uh, that's wrong, man.
- 27:33Speaker 7: Sorry, ge.
- 27:37Speaker 1: Some pet peep of the week.
- 27:38Speaker 2: Oh, my pet peeve of the week is when you're
- 27:40Speaker 2: on the interstate and there's a lot of cars out
- 27:43Speaker 2: there and it's at night, and the person behind you
- 27:45Speaker 2: has their high beams on. There's no reason to have
- 27:48Speaker 2: their high beams on. It's not like they're trying to
- 27:49Speaker 2: send a message to get over. It's clearly they just
- 27:52Speaker 2: like forgot that they're on. And it just pisses me
- 27:54Speaker 2: off because I feel like I checked the rearview mirror
- 27:56Speaker 2: even more when I know their high beams are on.
- 27:59Speaker 1: Yeah. Uh yeah, got to move the thing up a
- 28:02Speaker 1: little bit.
- 28:02Speaker 2: Yeah, you sart adjusted. But then you're like, I wonder
- 28:04Speaker 2: if they're still on the off and.
- 28:07Speaker 1: You're staring at two of those little balls light balls,
- 28:10Speaker 1: if you're standing to a light for a while.
- 28:13Speaker 2: Yes, yeah, when's the last time you started at a light?
- 28:17Speaker 1: Bob man, Man, I do got to go to camp, Mitch.
- 28:25Speaker 5: My peppiat of the week is when you get a
- 28:29Speaker 5: new app on your phone and you just have to
- 28:31Speaker 5: reorganize your entire app layout.
- 28:35Speaker 4: This miss is the very first world problem.
- 28:39Speaker 5: Uh, but like we had to get like the Google
- 28:42Speaker 5: calendar app for work and stuff, and it's just just
- 28:45Speaker 5: grinds my gears now that I have to figure out
- 28:49Speaker 5: where everything else is and just have to make it
- 28:51Speaker 5: all fit in the way that I want it.
- 28:53Speaker 4: But super first, super first world problem.
- 28:59Speaker 5: But I just hate getting new apps because I know
- 29:02Speaker 5: I'm gonna have to reorganize my phone.
- 29:08Speaker 1: I don't organize any of my ship at all. All right, Uh,
- 29:15Speaker 1: my pet peep of the week is going to go.
- 29:18Speaker 1: When you have ankle socks on and you're walking and
- 29:21Speaker 1: you're traveling with the boys, and that sock comes off
- 29:24Speaker 1: of your heel and then slowly inches down towards your
- 29:27Speaker 1: toes and sit it's like in the middle of your
- 29:28Speaker 1: foot and the rest today it's like a very soft
- 29:31Speaker 1: rock just kind of pressing into the soft point of
- 29:34Speaker 1: your of your foot. That ship pisses me off. That
- 29:36Speaker 1: is my pet peep of the week. Thank you.
- 29:40Speaker 3: I believe we have to do a tear talk though,
- 29:42Speaker 3: because we didn't do it with Nate.
- 29:44Speaker 1: Fuck yeah, I'm all about a tear talk.
- 29:46Speaker 3: You do best things about camp.
- 29:50Speaker 1: Let's do the best grocery store items. Do you guys
- 29:54Speaker 1: want to do camp or grocery store items? Let's do camp.
- 29:57Speaker 1: All right, let me take you a couple of minutes.
- 29:59Speaker 1: Did you in the back of mine.
- 30:00Speaker 3: I've been to camp and this is not like a slot.
- 30:02Speaker 1: I've been to camp. I've been to camp. I was
- 30:04Speaker 1: at camp for a week when I was fourteen, no twelve,
- 30:08Speaker 1: I used to I went to go see my grandparents
- 30:10Speaker 1: and I got a little too much, so they sent
- 30:11Speaker 1: me to camp for a week. That was not as
- 30:15Speaker 1: fun as you think. But yeah, it say five. All right,
- 30:18Speaker 1: we're back with tier talk. Tear talk today is going
- 30:20Speaker 1: to be best things to do at camp. After we
- 30:24Speaker 1: talked about telling that most of the camp counselors do
- 30:26Speaker 1: at camp that drinks some whiskey boys. Some Friday summer
- 30:31Speaker 1: finers are a thing of the past. It's time for
- 30:33Speaker 1: Friday Riday with whistle pig whiskey. Grab yourself a glass,
- 30:36Speaker 1: pour some whistle pig whiskey and get out there. Probably
- 30:39Speaker 1: at camp whistle pig piggyback one hundred percent Rye aged
- 30:42Speaker 1: six years maybe with one hundred percent Rye bold spice Ford,
- 30:46Speaker 1: perfect weight, bold spice Ford, perfect for maple old fashions.
- 30:51Speaker 1: Which one is that six years? Right here? The boy
- 30:54Speaker 1: was a little hitter right there. That's a nice little deal.
- 30:56Speaker 1: Goes down, real smooth, whistle Pig, Piggyback one, hunter Proof
- 31:00Speaker 1: bourbon Age six years one hunter Proof shines in sour
- 31:05Speaker 1: and citrus cocktails. Piggyback Rise Way Better Half. Wait, let's
- 31:10Speaker 1: put way in there for no reason. Piggyback, Rise Better Half.
- 31:13Speaker 1: And then there's whistle Pig ten year, the one that
- 31:16Speaker 1: started whistle Picked, the original distribute disruptor aged ten years,
- 31:20Speaker 1: one hundred proof. You boys in the comments, let's know
- 31:24Speaker 1: how you celebrate your Friday ride Day because that falls coming,
- 31:29Speaker 1: and this whiskey is with the change flavors on you
- 31:30Speaker 1: real quick, because that's how good it is. Grab yourself
- 31:33Speaker 1: a bottle of whistle Pig whiskey and kiss your work
- 31:35Speaker 1: day goodbye with summer ride Day. With that being said,
- 31:39Speaker 1: Tier Talk this week is now things to do at camp. Obviously,
- 31:44Speaker 1: God's tear is going to be drink drink, Whistle Pig Whiskey.
- 31:48Speaker 1: That's gonna be God Tier Boom gone.
- 31:51Speaker 2: We will.
- 31:51Speaker 1: You know what I want to go first? I would
- 31:54Speaker 1: like to go first and all of my three go together,
- 31:57Speaker 1: my Tier three of being at camp, and I'm taking
- 32:00Speaker 1: myself back to being a child. The one week I
- 32:02Speaker 1: was at camp twelve years old was nighttime telling scary
- 32:07Speaker 1: stories with your friends. That to me, dude, the sheer terror.
- 32:12Speaker 1: After you're done telling scary stories and the shittiest kind
- 32:15Speaker 1: of scary stories, and everyone's kind of sitting there in
- 32:17Speaker 1: the light spots say it's time to go to bed.
- 32:19Speaker 1: At the camp counselor is getting upset. Hey guysntioned the
- 32:21Speaker 1: lights office, it's over. Those creeks get a whole lot louder.
- 32:24Speaker 1: That wind at night gets a whole lot louder, and
- 32:27Speaker 1: you feel very, very uncomfortable as you fall into slumber.
- 32:30Speaker 1: Might not do it until the break of dawn. Actually,
- 32:32Speaker 1: so a lot of sleepless nights. My tier two is
- 32:35Speaker 1: going to go with my tier three because this is
- 32:38Speaker 1: where usually the scary stories happen, and that is around
- 32:40Speaker 1: a bonfire. Bonfires with the boys hanging out. That is
- 32:44Speaker 1: the illumination of a fire on somebody's face as they're
- 32:46Speaker 1: telling you about some creature in the forest. What a
- 32:50Speaker 1: place to get scared. And then my number one, my
- 32:56Speaker 1: tier one for going to camp, is going to be
- 32:59Speaker 1: making new friends. It's nerve wracking at first. You can
- 33:02Speaker 1: tell as you get there, because you're never the first
- 33:04Speaker 1: one there. There's already groups where they're finding and forming
- 33:06Speaker 1: their own clicks, and you find your group. You're only
- 33:09Speaker 1: together for a certain amount of time, but truly for
- 33:12Speaker 1: whatever reason, camp and little little tiny excursions like that
- 33:16Speaker 1: where you're not there for a very long time, bonds
- 33:17Speaker 1: are formed so quickly you'll never speak to them again.
- 33:19Speaker 1: Don't get it twisted. These are not These are seasonal friends,
- 33:22Speaker 1: not a lifetime friend. But that seasonal flame is so beautiful.
- 33:27Speaker 1: So making new friends is my Tier one, solid bonding
- 33:43Speaker 1: veteran fire. Thank you especially appreciated, Jacks. I feel like
- 33:50Speaker 1: it came from the heart.
- 33:52Speaker 3: Didn't even remember that I've been doing that bit and
- 33:55Speaker 3: so that was just an authentic solid.
- 33:58Speaker 1: I will take that. I think you're lying, but I'll
- 34:01Speaker 1: take it. I swear to god. I was like, oh shit,
- 34:05Speaker 1: Mitch Garret, you guys are up next. Here's the closest
- 34:07Speaker 1: ones to me, all.
- 34:08Speaker 5: Right, So my tiers are hour Tier three is uh,
- 34:14Speaker 5: it's just being outside, just the.
- 34:16Speaker 4: Little kid, like just when you're kids and stuff.
- 34:18Speaker 5: At that age, all you want to do is just
- 34:20Speaker 5: be outside and like being with like what like you said,
- 34:22Speaker 5: making new friends and stuff, just doing random shit outside
- 34:26Speaker 5: probably like stuff you shouldn't be doing, but like just
- 34:30Speaker 5: running around, ripping.
- 34:31Speaker 4: Around my Tier two hour. Tier two.
- 34:35Speaker 5: That camp lunchtime is different, in my opinion, do you
- 34:41Speaker 5: get the softest bread at the same time, Like you're
- 34:45Speaker 5: like all morning, you're just out there doing activities and stuff,
- 34:48Speaker 5: and then like you build up this massive appetite and
- 34:51Speaker 5: then you just go back to like your dining hall
- 34:54Speaker 5: or wherever you're like where your home base is, and
- 34:58Speaker 5: you eat lunch and you're just surrounded by like your
- 35:00Speaker 5: buddies and stuff that you make, and you just recapping
- 35:02Speaker 5: the morning, be like, oh, I can't wait to what
- 35:03Speaker 5: we're doing in the afternoon.
- 35:05Speaker 4: Stuff like that, just getting excited.
- 35:07Speaker 5: And then Tier one it's just the games and stuff
- 35:11Speaker 5: that you play at camp are games that you'll never
- 35:14Speaker 5: ever play again, like different sorts of tags and stuff
- 35:17Speaker 5: like that. But like when you are humble brag like
- 35:21Speaker 5: the most athletic person, I can't you just feel like
- 35:28Speaker 5: you just feel like you just like you're winning everything.
- 35:33Speaker 5: You're always kind of getting picked first. It's just a
- 35:36Speaker 5: little self tap on a pat on the back. I mean,
- 35:38Speaker 5: it is what it is. But like and then you
- 35:42Speaker 5: have like your other like athletic friends that are like
- 35:45Speaker 5: just with you, just riding with you. It's just it's
- 35:49Speaker 5: just fun. It's just fun. It's just fun playing those games.
- 35:53Speaker 4: That camp. That's that is over tear.
- 35:56Speaker 7: Talk, elitist, thank you, Yeah, testosterone.
- 36:17Speaker 1: Solid, humble brag. But you're the most athletic at camp.
- 36:26Speaker 1: Get the funk out of here, dude. One highlight tape
- 36:29Speaker 1: surfaces with Mitch Camp.
- 36:31Speaker 4: I'm sure everybody here is probably the most athletic.
- 36:34Speaker 1: We are the most athletic podcast in the game.
- 36:38Speaker 4: Everybody at the camp, they went to their respective ones.
- 36:42Speaker 4: They were the.
- 36:44Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, we should talk about golf too, but I
- 36:48Speaker 1: want to hear guys, it's your talk.
- 36:50Speaker 3: Those those were solid list you guys, y'all did leave
- 36:53Speaker 3: out the most crucial, but we will get there. Honorable
- 36:58Speaker 3: Mention goes to camp chance and it usually takes place
- 37:03Speaker 3: in the dining room, so in all the boys, it's
- 37:05Speaker 3: right in that sweet spot of lunch when everyone's still
- 37:08Speaker 3: little juice from like maybe a little pretty intense flag
- 37:12Speaker 3: football game or whatever you're playing. You get in there,
- 37:15Speaker 3: you start beating on the tables, you know, like whatever
- 37:18Speaker 3: it is, food fight. It's just something that bonds everyone
- 37:21Speaker 3: against the superiors, the camp counselors, that weird parent who
- 37:26Speaker 3: tags along because they can't like let their son go
- 37:28Speaker 3: for a week whatever. Maybe, so that's honorable. Mention Number
- 37:32Speaker 3: three is is just meeting Yeah, yeah, meeting people from
- 37:38Speaker 3: new cities. It's like the first exposure you get as
- 37:40Speaker 3: a kid to people who live outside of your like
- 37:43Speaker 3: general area. So you're like, oh, like this kid's from
- 37:46Speaker 3: fucking Nebraska or whatever Colorado, and you're like, people actually
- 37:50Speaker 3: do live outside the twenty miles that I've existed in
- 37:54Speaker 3: my what I know is life, So you kind of
- 37:56Speaker 3: like start to grow and develop. Number two be cool
- 38:03Speaker 3: camp counselors. But specifically it's usually on that last night
- 38:07Speaker 3: of camp if you have a cool camp counselor they
- 38:10Speaker 3: let you like sneak out, whether it's to like go
- 38:12Speaker 3: like prank another cabin or kind of like you form
- 38:15Speaker 3: like a really good bond with your group of guys,
- 38:17Speaker 3: so like you just get to go like hang out
- 38:19Speaker 3: like in the field and like throw rocks or some shit,
- 38:22Speaker 3: just like cut up and be bad kids for a
- 38:24Speaker 3: little bit. So like shout out to the good camp counselors.
- 38:27Speaker 3: And the number one that I feel like you guys
- 38:31Speaker 3: didn't even mention and is the best thing as an
- 38:34Speaker 3: adolescent is camp crushes. It's your first experience in love
- 38:39Speaker 3: and you know, maybe it hurts more than you want
- 38:43Speaker 3: to care to admit, but you know, the relationships never
- 38:46Speaker 3: gonna work. But for that five verse six days you
- 38:49Speaker 3: have with this person, it's like, by like day four,
- 38:52Speaker 3: all your boys know about it, and like you walk
- 38:54Speaker 3: into the dining hall and they're like, oh, you know,
- 38:57Speaker 3: like this she is. You know, like you go like
- 39:00Speaker 3: drop like a fork off at our table and like
- 39:02Speaker 3: what is this? And you like throw a wing like
- 39:04Speaker 3: you just dropped off some gold or whatever. You're like,
- 39:07Speaker 3: So yeah, the camp crush, it like really opens you
- 39:09Speaker 3: up as a kid and and shows you like the
- 39:12Speaker 3: potential of what love could be.
- 39:14Speaker 2: So there is a moment where you do believe that
- 39:17Speaker 2: you will end up with your camp crush, like our
- 39:19Speaker 2: past will cross again, God.
- 39:22Speaker 3: And please uh going back to our second that last
- 39:26Speaker 3: night that you get out, sometimes if you're lucky, the
- 39:30Speaker 3: girl counselor girl counselor gets to go out as well,
- 39:34Speaker 3: and you guys meet up under the moonlight sare a
- 39:36Speaker 3: little you know, intimate kiss.
- 39:38Speaker 1: The shirt stuff.
- 39:38Speaker 3: Yeah, you go back home, tell all the boys, You're like,
- 39:41Speaker 3: he'll never even believe what happened to camp this year.
- 39:49Speaker 3: So yeah, it's fair camp, dude, It's oh, it's fair game. Like, yeah,
- 39:53Speaker 3: I had a boyfriend like you. Whenever I love you more.
- 39:56Speaker 2: The thing is when we when we say camp crush,
- 39:58Speaker 2: I know everybody in the US immediately thought of one name,
- 40:02Speaker 2: which is a cool bond to have.
- 40:04Speaker 1: Hayley, please take me back. I miss you so much.
- 40:10Speaker 1: You want to talk about golf, Yeah, I do want
- 40:12Speaker 1: to talk about golf. I owe the golf worlds an apology.
- 40:17Speaker 1: I'm not saying I'm a country club guy, so don't
- 40:19Speaker 1: fucking don't get it twisted. But I will. I will say.
- 40:22Speaker 1: We were in an arbor, Michigan this past weekend seeing
- 40:24Speaker 1: the twenty twenty three twenty twenty four national champion University
- 40:28Speaker 1: of Michigan Wolverines during a couple of little pods, little
- 40:31Speaker 1: things that will live on YouTube, but can't I for
- 40:32Speaker 1: you guys to see him. But we went down and
- 40:36Speaker 1: uh hit a couple of balls at the driving range.
- 40:39Speaker 1: I've picked up a club five times in my life,
- 40:42Speaker 1: and uh, I gotta be honest, I was nervous. There's
- 40:44Speaker 1: a lot of people around a lot of gentlemen that
- 40:46Speaker 1: look up to me actually in that area, humble brag.
- 40:50Speaker 1: And when I grabbed that club, I was like, fuck, man,
- 40:53Speaker 1: all right, don't mess this up. And I literally just
- 40:56Speaker 1: stopped back to watching people taking the small notes and
- 40:58Speaker 1: literally ask Garret first, oa, hey, well do I do
- 41:00Speaker 1: that type of thing? And uh, I hit it, and
- 41:05Speaker 1: I hit it, well, I hit that ball, And I
- 41:08Speaker 1: really didn't think because there was one kid going before.
- 41:12Speaker 1: I can't believe he got a scholarship to play football,
- 41:14Speaker 1: is the way he was betting and using that that
- 41:15Speaker 1: team mobility. I thought, oh man, I don't know if
- 41:18Speaker 1: this kid plays. No idea who he was, no idea
- 41:20Speaker 1: who he was, But the way he was trying to
- 41:21Speaker 1: swing it, I was like, please, gud, just don't look
- 41:23Speaker 1: like that. And then obviously Jack catches a video from behind,
- 41:27Speaker 1: and it's probably the most exciting I've been to look
- 41:29Speaker 1: at a video real quickly. He let me see, let
- 41:30Speaker 1: me see it, let me see that, Like, how did eye?
- 41:31Speaker 1: I'm literally judging myself. I thought, damn, the boy look
- 41:34Speaker 1: kind of nice. There. Obviously the clubs are too small,
- 41:36Speaker 1: no idea what the fuck that means? Everybody says that
- 41:38Speaker 1: the comment section, because I did with the comment section
- 41:40Speaker 1: about forty times because I was that fired up. But
- 41:43Speaker 1: then we go see Schefty, who's with this older gentleman.
- 41:46Speaker 1: And we saw Schefter as we're literally pulling. He's like
- 41:49Speaker 1: the first individual we saw and he's with a group
- 41:51Speaker 1: of people and this one he's like this guy, I'm like, hey,
- 41:53Speaker 1: what's your handicap? Was not what people say and golf.
- 41:55Speaker 1: So I'm just trying to call back lingo that I've
- 41:57Speaker 1: heard in the past. And he's like, oh, this guy's
- 41:58Speaker 1: blow par and I know I like par zero and
- 42:00Speaker 1: you want to do below, which is minus. And so
- 42:02Speaker 1: I put those pieces together there in the middle of
- 42:05Speaker 1: the fairway, which was Buddy shot. It's on a par
- 42:08Speaker 1: five and this dude. They all shoot a lot of
- 42:11Speaker 1: dog dog shit shots out there. I'm kind of bragging
- 42:13Speaker 1: or saying whatever. I'm really just saying shit to say
- 42:15Speaker 1: shit because we're just there and I'm like, man, I'm
- 42:17Speaker 1: gonna I would hit that on the green. I would
- 42:20Speaker 1: do X, Y and Z blah blah blah, and Buddy
- 42:22Speaker 1: shot a shot that shoe. It was actually on the green.
- 42:24Speaker 1: It was actually what ten feet away from the from
- 42:26Speaker 1: the hole? Yeah probably get yeah, it ends uping it.
- 42:32Speaker 1: But then I don't know who said it between the
- 42:34Speaker 1: three of you be like, hey, TAM's you can shot,
- 42:35Speaker 1: take a shot, and I that At that point, I
- 42:37Speaker 1: was back in the nervous stage of like fuck that.
- 42:38Speaker 1: This dude's shot in the lead shot. I saw these
- 42:40Speaker 1: other guys shoot the ball. It wasn't very good. I
- 42:42Speaker 1: think I could at least do what they just did.
- 42:45Speaker 4: Now.
- 42:45Speaker 1: They put a club in my hand. It looked like
- 42:46Speaker 1: a driver, Like what was it? It was a fairway
- 42:50Speaker 1: would whatever that means? And uh, And I'm trying to
- 42:54Speaker 1: be you know, I pick it up like a baseball
- 42:55Speaker 1: bat and think I'm funny in my head and I
- 42:57Speaker 1: swing that ball. I hit it pretty good. I hit
- 43:01Speaker 1: the ball pretty good. Dude. It overshot the green by
- 43:05Speaker 1: twenty yards. But that's just I'm just given I'm using
- 43:09Speaker 1: the weapon that was given to me in this type
- 43:11Speaker 1: of situation. That ball, if the right club was in
- 43:15Speaker 1: my hand and I shot that same shot, we're talking
- 43:18Speaker 1: on the green or on the green, it's a little
- 43:20Speaker 1: bit higher grass. Are we not? Are we not? Boys?
- 43:23Speaker 1: Maybe whole we would be on the fringe. We would
- 43:28Speaker 1: be on the fringe. So I'm just saying the exhilarating
- 43:31Speaker 1: feeling I got when the ball left my club and I,
- 43:35Speaker 1: with zero coaching, was able to do that one makes
- 43:40Speaker 1: me feel like a lot of you who complain about
- 43:41Speaker 1: being bad at golf, maybe you're just bad because I
- 43:44Speaker 1: did that. I did that, and it's on film, and
- 43:49Speaker 1: I wish we got a video of where the ball landed,
- 43:52Speaker 1: but it wasn't in the woods like a lot of
- 43:54Speaker 1: you guys out there. So I would now like to
- 43:57Speaker 1: revisit one of Jack's podcasts. He was on talking about
- 44:00Speaker 1: who the most athletic and when he said I would
- 44:03Speaker 1: be out basically putting me in fifth place. Correct, Uh,
- 44:07Speaker 1: you just weren't top three. Would you like to change
- 44:11Speaker 1: your answer at all?
- 44:12Speaker 3: When we go out and play a full eighteen, that
- 44:15Speaker 3: is when I will decide.
- 44:18Speaker 1: Yeah, nine nine nine shots on the ADHD right there,
- 44:22Speaker 1: A victim, Okay, But I am willing. Not only am
- 44:28Speaker 1: I no longer wildly against golf, I am willing to
- 44:32Speaker 1: actually pick up some clubs and go play. I don't
- 44:34Speaker 1: want to get my own clubs. I think that's ridiculous.
- 44:36Speaker 1: I think that's way too much of an investment for
- 44:37Speaker 1: no reason. Because although people want to talk about my
- 44:40Speaker 1: income in the back of the bus, I don't like
- 44:41Speaker 1: to spend it like that.
- 44:43Speaker 3: So we should get a Troubadour. Yeah, I'm sure you
- 44:46Speaker 3: got to get us in. Can you get us in?
- 44:49Speaker 1: Is the real question. I'll call some people. One of
- 44:52Speaker 1: the one of the competitors in Beer Olympics lives in Troubadour,
- 44:56Speaker 1: so maybe we can call him play play around a
- 44:57Speaker 1: golf with him. But yeah, dude, I was I was wild.
- 45:00Speaker 3: Uh, you like Drew Rour because you can wear exactly
- 45:03Speaker 3: what you're wearing right now and it will be the
- 45:05Speaker 3: nicest course you've ever played.
- 45:06Speaker 1: Nicer than the one in Michigan, because g was saying
- 45:08Speaker 1: that's the nicest club he's ever played that there. I
- 45:13Speaker 1: haven't been to Troubadour, but that course was pretty insane. Yeah,
- 45:19Speaker 1: I wish I could understand the beauty I was looking at.
- 45:21Speaker 1: It looked like grass to me. Yeah, but well mode
- 45:24Speaker 1: grass absolutely, I will say that. Yeah, a lot of
- 45:27Speaker 1: textures we got to talk about, you me. We went
- 45:30Speaker 1: to Trevor Keegan and Zack Ziner's hole and they were
- 45:34Speaker 1: teeing off. So we were there right from the beginning.
- 45:36Speaker 1: And be honest, thank god those guys. Those boys are
- 45:40Speaker 1: good at football because their dog shit at golf. Their
- 45:41Speaker 1: whole crew was there. They're the crew. They were with
- 45:43Speaker 1: a bunch of CPAs wearing Italian horn tattoos around their calves.
- 45:49Speaker 1: We talked to him a little bit that later. That's
- 45:51Speaker 1: not part of the story. But everyone shoots, and then
- 45:54Speaker 1: G shoots. G hit that thing, I god damn mile
- 45:59Speaker 1: on the fair way, and then you're not even a
- 46:03Speaker 1: part of the scramble. They all go and find their balls,
- 46:05Speaker 1: which are on different fairways, different areas in the woods,
- 46:07Speaker 1: behind trees. They cruise over and find your ball jokingly
- 46:11Speaker 1: say ha ha, that's mine, and proceed to use your ball.
- 46:14Speaker 1: What happens next, I don't know if you want to interject.
- 46:16Speaker 1: At any point, they all shoot again. They're all dog
- 46:19Speaker 1: shit shots and what do you do? Gee stroke a
- 46:23Speaker 1: seven iron on the fringe, on the fringe.
- 46:26Speaker 8: Yeah, definitely should have kept the club I had, but
- 46:29Speaker 8: it was a good shot.
- 46:31Speaker 1: Yeah, you did get a little cocky with the club choice.
- 46:33Speaker 1: I did see you had the six in your hand
- 46:34Speaker 1: and then there you're like, I'm think the seven, Well,
- 46:36Speaker 1: Homie was scoffing behind me.
- 46:37Speaker 8: Pot launched that one over the green and I was like,
- 46:39Speaker 8: all right, yeah, he didn't feel the wind behind us.
- 46:42Speaker 1: Yeah, you gotta be able to you gotta be a waterman. Yeah,
- 46:46Speaker 1: when you're in there.
- 46:47Speaker 4: Yep.
- 46:47Speaker 1: So that happens, puts that bitch on the fringe. And
- 46:51Speaker 1: then did you putt it or chip it?
- 46:53Speaker 8: I had a horrible bump and run, but then the
- 46:55Speaker 8: second one I hit and it hit the flag stick
- 46:57Speaker 8: and that's the one that you've.
- 46:58Speaker 1: That's right, that's what they end up using anyway. So
- 47:00Speaker 1: you played the whole hole for them, helped them because
- 47:03Speaker 1: they would have been in hell. Yeah, Trevor can hit
- 47:05Speaker 1: it far, it just doesn't go straight. What matters, dude?
- 47:10Speaker 1: You're right, you know, who gives a shit about going far?
- 47:13Speaker 1: You want that, then you go straight? If I'm not mistaken,
- 47:15Speaker 1: not a golfer, but I feel like I'm much better
- 47:17Speaker 1: hit it straight than far. That's fair. Get a combination
- 47:20Speaker 1: of both. Now you're talking about PGA tour, Yeah, exactly,
- 47:24Speaker 1: so I need to hear. But yeah, we've we've definitely
- 47:27Speaker 1: decided as a group on Busting with the Boys that
- 47:28Speaker 1: we are the most athletic all around podcast. I don't
- 47:31Speaker 1: know about Steven. I'm not sure he played lacrosse. Said
- 47:37Speaker 1: he's a runner, said he's a runner. What that counts
- 47:39Speaker 1: for an athletic ability? We'll see. But a couple of
- 47:44Speaker 1: pro athletes, three Pro Bowls between the two and then
- 47:49Speaker 1: by Rex Sport Hall of Famers in the back here,
- 47:52Speaker 1: which Jack took offense to that when I said the
- 47:54Speaker 1: other day, when you actually beat me in something, but
- 47:56Speaker 1: that was meant as a compliment. With that said, after

- 49:46Speaker 1: We love seeing the support. Nate Bargotti. Let's get right
- 49:49Speaker 1: to it. What a time that was twenty twenty one
- 49:51Speaker 1: on the bus in the church. What do you think
- 49:53Speaker 1: of this? Comparted to the church?
- 49:54Speaker 2: Uh?
- 49:55Speaker 1: I like this, you know.
- 49:55Speaker 9: I used to work this area. I used to do that.
- 49:59Speaker 9: Was a delivery guy.
- 50:01Speaker 4: Uh.
- 50:01Speaker 9: And we used to deliver appliances and stuff like that.
- 50:04Speaker 9: And we I was over I would do it over here,
- 50:06Speaker 9: and I mowed and I and I worked for a
- 50:08Speaker 9: guy to cut grass once and his thing was right
- 50:11Speaker 9: back over here too.
- 50:12Speaker 1: So I used to be over here a lot. Yeah,
- 50:14Speaker 1: Mowen job. You had Mowen jobs.
- 50:15Speaker 9: I had one. It's Mowen's the worst, dude. It's it's uh,
- 50:20Speaker 9: you know, like I would cut grass going up like
- 50:22Speaker 9: your neighbor's yard.
- 50:23Speaker 4: Ors.
- 50:23Speaker 9: I had this old lady, excuse me, I got five bucks.
- 50:26Speaker 9: They cut her grass and then Uh, this was nineteen
- 50:30Speaker 9: fifty three, you got.
- 50:32Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a whole bunch of salary right there.
- 50:35Speaker 9: Back then, I remember I could go there was a
- 50:37Speaker 9: candy store. This is I mean, I'm forty four, it's
- 50:40Speaker 9: not like I'm one hundred. But there was a candy
- 50:42Speaker 9: store in old Hickory, and uh, you could go.
- 50:44Speaker 1: Five bucks was a lot. Five bucks was.
- 50:46Speaker 9: Like the twenty I think now like if you give
- 50:48Speaker 9: a kid, if you give a kid five now, I
- 50:50Speaker 9: feel like they don't even respect it.
- 50:53Speaker 1: But twenty is.
- 50:55Speaker 9: You know, it's like we were like, eh uh, but
- 50:57Speaker 9: we had so I mowed grass for a little bit,
- 50:59Speaker 9: but I mean just doing businesses and it's just man
- 51:03Speaker 9: people that mow, you know, like landscaping all that that
- 51:07Speaker 9: is brutal work. It's so hot and you're just out
- 51:11Speaker 9: in it all day.
- 51:13Speaker 1: I quit after one day of landscaping. Yeah.
- 51:15Speaker 6: Yeah, it was brutal. It was like a hot ninety
- 51:17Speaker 6: eight degrees. Like my mom wanted me to go do this.
- 51:20Speaker 1: You know.
- 51:20Speaker 6: I was a lifeguard the summer before the next summer,
- 51:24Speaker 6: I gotta thrust it into a landscaping job and I
- 51:28Speaker 6: quit immediately.
- 51:29Speaker 1: The first day. Yeah, we went, we went and got
- 51:31Speaker 1: lunch and got sandwiches or whatever. I text my mom,
- 51:34Speaker 1: I said, you gotta get me out of here, dude.
- 51:36Speaker 1: The first I've never mowed along in my entire life. Really,
- 51:40Speaker 1: not one.
- 51:40Speaker 6: I grew up in Arizona. Yeah, only rich people had
- 51:42Speaker 6: yeah brass and so you get the turf. Yeah, yeah,
- 51:45Speaker 6: people got turf or people got rocks. Like that's really
- 51:47Speaker 6: what you could deal with out there.
- 51:49Speaker 1: So coming out here or even being up in Michigan,
- 51:52Speaker 1: the maintenance is nuts. Yeah, And I feel like land
- 51:55Speaker 1: like a landscaping deal isn't as bad because they have
- 51:57Speaker 1: like the cool mowers can kind of move around. You're
- 52:01Speaker 1: sitting the whole time. Yeah, they're all. They got the
- 52:03Speaker 1: whole garment and everything on. I'm sure as a boy.
- 52:05Speaker 9: You were just short, so short I was, yeah, I
- 52:08Speaker 9: was never I wasn't that high up, so you'd be
- 52:10Speaker 9: you weed eating, which is I mean, just no fun
- 52:14Speaker 9: or you're doing all the weird kind of like where
- 52:16Speaker 9: you gotta be like you got to push it because
- 52:18Speaker 9: they can't get a thing on it. Landscaping, though, was
- 52:21Speaker 9: the if you have, uh no college, if you have
- 52:26Speaker 9: no chances of going to college, always starting a landscaping
- 52:29Speaker 9: company was talked about pretty heavily.
- 52:31Speaker 1: Dude, I have like four friends that have a landscaping company.
- 52:33Speaker 1: They you just go in town.
- 52:35Speaker 9: Yeah, when you're like I can't I'm not smart enough
- 52:38Speaker 9: to go really, I can't get in college or any stuff.
- 52:41Speaker 9: And you just have a group of people that'd be like,
- 52:44Speaker 9: let's start a landscaping But if somebody doesn't high school,
- 52:47Speaker 9: they're the man for a minute because they can afford
- 52:49Speaker 9: all the when they go.
- 52:52Speaker 6: Yeah, because you're you're collecting a lot of money being
- 52:54Speaker 6: mowing lawns. But then they're doing it still because they're
- 52:57Speaker 6: you know, didn't go to college.
- 52:58Speaker 9: I have a buddy mind his brother, he actually owns
- 53:01Speaker 9: a landscape company.
- 53:01Speaker 1: Now.
- 53:02Speaker 9: He was a he was a kid that just started
- 53:04Speaker 9: cutting yards. Was like smart enough to realize like, oh,
- 53:08Speaker 9: let me start building this up into a thing.
- 53:10Speaker 1: And it is.
- 53:10Speaker 9: And they got money, like they saved money, and like
- 53:13Speaker 9: you're like, you know, someone's got like three grand and
- 53:16Speaker 9: you're like what, yeah, yeah, like unheard of, Yeah, unheard
- 53:20Speaker 9: of is someone sixteen, Yeah sitting on three grand?
- 53:24Speaker 6: And then they pull like you know, a business gig
- 53:26Speaker 6: or a corporate gig and their mom in those yards
- 53:28Speaker 6: like you rid with them.
- 53:28Speaker 1: My parents get that money. Three thousand dollars. Imagine seeing
- 53:32Speaker 1: three thousand dollars in high school. It would have been unimaginable. No,
- 53:37Speaker 1: that's that'd be way too much. Is that the worst
- 53:38Speaker 1: job you've ever had? Being a landscaper?
- 53:40Speaker 6: Uh?
- 53:41Speaker 9: I Also, so the guy I used to deliver with
- 53:43Speaker 9: over here, we did another job where we recycle tires.
- 53:46Speaker 9: That job was on dirty jobs and how do you
- 53:49Speaker 9: recycle a tire? So you would go and pick up
- 53:53Speaker 9: uh you remember, I don't know if you remember, but
- 53:55Speaker 9: there's a big Ford. Uh they did the where they
- 53:59Speaker 9: did a car all back or recall on all the tires.
- 54:02Speaker 1: For Ford one. Uh, Chevy would never and.
- 54:04Speaker 9: Then uh there's and and so we had to go
- 54:08Speaker 9: get all the tires. So you go get all the
- 54:09Speaker 9: tires and then you pick them up and you take
- 54:11Speaker 9: them to Australia. I'm in Australia. I'm going to Australia
- 54:14Speaker 9: this week.
- 54:14Speaker 1: It's on.
- 54:15Speaker 9: You take them to Atlanta and then they have a
- 54:17Speaker 9: thing and then they cut them up and you know
- 54:18Speaker 9: whatever they do recycling, whatever cycling is.
- 54:21Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure sure fields have like tire pelotin them.
- 54:23Speaker 9: Yeah, yes, yeah, So that's where they don't know what
- 54:26Speaker 9: to do with it, so they just like put it
- 54:28Speaker 9: in the field. Uh yeah, So what why was so hard?
- 54:35Speaker 9: Uh So you have to go pick up all these tires.
- 54:38Speaker 9: Water sits in the bottom of a tire, and that's
- 54:41Speaker 9: where mosquitoes lay eggs, and that's where it are. So
- 54:44Speaker 9: the whole time you're just getting lit up a mosquitoes.
- 54:48Speaker 9: That's just your day. I was doing this shop when
- 54:50Speaker 9: nine to eleven happened. That's just like it was.
- 54:53Speaker 4: It was.
- 54:53Speaker 1: Remember when I remember when, Yeah, I remember it very well.
- 54:57Speaker 1: You heard that Alan Jackson song. You're like, I will
- 54:59Speaker 1: forever know where I Yeah, and.
- 55:01Speaker 9: Uh so I did did the mosquitoes there. And then
- 55:04Speaker 9: we had one time we had to go pick up
- 55:06Speaker 9: tires out of a cave. So if someone would pay
- 55:09Speaker 9: you to come get the tires and then you would
- 55:11Speaker 9: go recycle them and then hopefully make some profit. But
- 55:14Speaker 9: one guy would just get the tires and then just
- 55:17Speaker 9: go dump them in a cave and he wasn't getting
- 55:19Speaker 9: them recycled, so so he's just making straight profit from
- 55:22Speaker 9: taking tires. Well, they found out that guy would ended
- 55:25Speaker 9: up going to jail. And but then we had to
- 55:27Speaker 9: go get those tires, and they were all in a cave.
- 55:29Speaker 9: So we had to backup trucks just in this cave
- 55:32Speaker 9: and you gotta like run them up your chest and
- 55:34Speaker 9: like bump them, and then they were and then then
- 55:36Speaker 9: stack them up into the back of a like a
- 55:39Speaker 9: is it.
- 55:40Speaker 6: Too where you got to pick up fucking you see
- 55:41Speaker 6: a big trick. You're like, oh, let's go do the
- 55:43Speaker 6: shop and get a couple of tires. And then they're
- 55:45Speaker 6: massive tractor tires.
- 55:46Speaker 1: Uh yeah, I don't remember that.
- 55:48Speaker 9: I don't necessarily ours were all car tires because this
- 55:51Speaker 9: was again the recall, so it was like everybody around
- 55:55Speaker 9: here had so many tires because all these tires got recalled,
- 55:58Speaker 9: so they everybody was like it was a big kind
- 56:00Speaker 9: of booming business at that moment. And uh this when
- 56:04Speaker 9: this one guy just figured like I just dump them
- 56:05Speaker 9: in a cave Jesus. And we I mean, there was
- 56:08Speaker 9: so many tires in this cave, dude. We just drove
- 56:10Speaker 9: backed up in there and just there's the most tires
- 56:14Speaker 9: and you're like all right, and you just all right,
- 56:17Speaker 9: I just would be good at it. They would you.
- 56:19Speaker 9: You would run it up your body and then bounce
- 56:21Speaker 9: the tire off your chest?
- 56:22Speaker 1: How was you? Would it started the toes like you
- 56:24Speaker 1: get the toes a.
- 56:24Speaker 9: Little quick you kind of Yeah, you just kind of
- 56:26Speaker 9: run it up and it's all in one motion and
- 56:28Speaker 9: then it's probably a worker. Now you probably pay you
- 56:30Speaker 9: to get a trainer to make you do it, but yeah,
- 56:33Speaker 9: you just do it and you roll it back and
- 56:35Speaker 9: then you got to stack the tires like kind of
- 56:37Speaker 9: criss crossed.
- 56:38Speaker 1: Oh you found that physique of yours, dude, that muscle
- 56:40Speaker 1: memory you have.
- 56:41Speaker 9: You know, you're probably probably was a pretty strong. Yeah,
- 56:44Speaker 9: you're strong, like you're like, uh, you know, like uh
- 56:48Speaker 9: blue collar strong where you're country boy weird strength.
- 56:51Speaker 6: The meat your hands throwing the haybales out there, they
- 56:54Speaker 6: just got a grip like a motherfucker.
- 56:56Speaker 1: Yeah, that's a tough job. Another job that'd be tough
- 56:58Speaker 1: is like, uh, have you ever like college hunks and
- 57:00Speaker 1: junks that company? Uh No, it was like two man
- 57:04Speaker 1: are Uh yeah, it's kind of like that. But like
- 57:09Speaker 1: their whole promo of the whole thing is essentially hot
- 57:12Speaker 1: college guys come and pick up your trash. Yeah, and
- 57:15Speaker 1: we use them and they come in and they're like
- 57:18Speaker 1: they're not hot, Like they're like thirty five, forty years old, like, yeah,
- 57:22Speaker 1: bad tans. You hired them? Oh yeah, I called him up.
- 57:25Speaker 1: I want to see what this is all about. If
- 57:26Speaker 1: this is your branding. They were not the guys on
- 57:29Speaker 1: the flyer when I called him out. You go, y'all
- 57:32Speaker 1: are not hot? Yeah, what's the deal with that promise?
- 57:35Speaker 1: The funny thing is they'll just look at all the
- 57:36Speaker 1: trash you have and they'll go three hundred like all right,
- 57:40Speaker 1: and they just take it and they leave. And that's
- 57:42Speaker 1: their job. That's a wild job to have. Yeah, living, yeah,
- 57:46Speaker 1: for your tired one. What'd you get paid?
- 57:49Speaker 9: I don't even know if I remember, I mean not,
- 57:51Speaker 9: I mean nothing, like, uh, you know enough, I was twenty,
- 57:56Speaker 9: so it's like enough to give like whatever. Yeah, you
- 58:00Speaker 9: know you're living. I might used have lived at home
- 58:02Speaker 9: or you're at an apartment. I mean back then it
- 58:04Speaker 9: was just everything was so it was you know, you
- 58:06Speaker 9: your rent was probably four hundred a month or some
- 58:09Speaker 9: five undred a month, like if you had an apartment.
- 58:12Speaker 1: I don't remember being that crazy. Yeah when you were,
- 58:15Speaker 1: when you were twenty years old, you were still here.
- 58:16Speaker 1: I know you guys talked about the last podcast, but
- 58:18Speaker 1: When did you make the trip to New York? When
- 58:20Speaker 1: did you decide that's where I'm going.
- 58:21Speaker 9: For So, I moved to Chicago first, and then uh
- 58:26Speaker 9: because had a buddy. We were reading water meters in
- 58:29Speaker 9: uh Mount Julia, and so he wanted to go to
- 58:32Speaker 9: Second City in Chicago. It's where a lot of SNL
- 58:34Speaker 9: people come out of it. Farley came out of Yeah.
- 58:36Speaker 1: And so we went to Uh.
- 58:38Speaker 9: So I was like, oh, I think I want to
- 58:40Speaker 9: start comedy, and so we went to Chicago and uh
- 58:43Speaker 9: uh moved up there and I did that very briefly
- 58:46Speaker 9: that I kind of started doing stand up and then Uh,
- 58:49Speaker 9: there's a there's a great documentary with Seinfeld called Comedian.
- 58:52Speaker 9: It's on Netflix. It's when he's like he's starting a
- 58:56Speaker 9: new hour and so he's writing it and shows all
- 58:59Speaker 9: this New York He's going to all these New York
- 59:01Speaker 9: clubs and doing this stuff. And so then I saw that,
- 59:04Speaker 9: and when I saw that, it was like I got
- 59:07Speaker 9: to go to New York. And then that just went
- 59:09Speaker 9: So I moved to New York and four Yeah.
- 59:11Speaker 1: We just had to Steffan on the podcast and he
- 59:13Speaker 1: was talking about how like New York is the spot
- 59:16Speaker 1: there's no other place like that. You have to like
- 59:17Speaker 1: literally run through like five thousand dudes to even make
- 59:19Speaker 1: it out of there.
- 59:20Speaker 6: Because he was saying he would never move away from
- 59:21Speaker 6: New York because it's all, yeah, you can make it
- 59:24Speaker 6: out of New York.
- 59:25Speaker 1: He is New York. He's New York. Yeah, and then
- 59:27Speaker 1: I grew up there. Yeah. I can't imagine being a
- 59:29Speaker 1: Tennessee boy and then going up to New York.
- 59:32Speaker 9: It was Yeah, it was a lot like Christy's like
- 59:34Speaker 9: a lot younger than me. But I remember when he
- 59:38Speaker 9: got a great dude and then when he came on
- 59:41Speaker 9: the scene, you do, you have to go.
- 59:43Speaker 1: It's the best.
- 59:43Speaker 9: The big saying was like go to New York to
- 59:46Speaker 9: get good in LA to get famous. That's saying I
- 59:49Speaker 9: heard once in that but it always made a ton
- 59:51Speaker 9: of sense to me. But New York is like it
- 59:55Speaker 9: is where you go and you're just grinding out in
- 59:57Speaker 9: these comedy clubs and just we're all doing spots, you're
- 1:00:02Speaker 9: all doing shows for five people. I mean it's a
- 1:00:05Speaker 9: lot like the beginning is most of your careers in
- 1:00:08Speaker 9: front of five six people, you'd be happy.
- 1:00:11Speaker 6: Yeah, Because you talked about how you'd stand outside and
- 1:00:13Speaker 6: handoff flyers just to get a few people in.
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: Yeah, one of your boys is performing. You're like, hey,
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: come check it out.
- 1:00:18Speaker 9: Yeah, yeah, that's and you and you get paid in
- 1:00:20Speaker 9: stage time, so you you would just do that and
- 1:00:23Speaker 9: then at the end of the night you get to
- 1:00:25Speaker 9: go on stage like midnight and do five minutes, and
- 1:00:27Speaker 9: then you go do it and the next day. But
- 1:00:29Speaker 9: it's a world, I mean, you become you. You just
- 1:00:31Speaker 9: you fall in love with it because you're seeing like
- 1:00:34Speaker 9: back when I did it was like you're seeing Bill Burr.
- 1:00:36Speaker 9: Bill Burr's probably doing comedy ten years when I was
- 1:00:40Speaker 9: in New York at the beginning, and so like it,
- 1:00:42Speaker 9: but no one knows who he is and Patersa O'Neill
- 1:00:44Speaker 9: and all this. So you're you're you're like kind of like,
- 1:00:47Speaker 9: I can't believe these dudes exist.
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: I'd imagine in your world.
- 1:00:50Speaker 9: Like it's like you think, like you know, if you're
- 1:00:52Speaker 9: in high school and you're the top football player in
- 1:00:54Speaker 9: your house and then you go, oh, there's other people
- 1:00:56Speaker 9: that are so good yeah, and then you like and
- 1:01:00Speaker 9: it makes you love it because you go, oh, this
- 1:01:03Speaker 9: it's a whole nother level, Like it's.
- 1:01:05Speaker 1: Let me see if I can make it here. Let
- 1:01:07Speaker 1: me see if I.
- 1:01:07Speaker 9: Can make it yeah, because you can be whatever in
- 1:01:09Speaker 9: your own little small thing, but you gotta always change
- 1:01:12Speaker 9: it up so then you can be like, let me
- 1:01:14Speaker 9: see if I can run with these guys.
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: I'm with you.
- 1:01:17Speaker 6: Growing up in Bontero, when I went to college, I
- 1:01:18Speaker 6: was like, oh ship, yeah, white guys play football. Yeah,
- 1:01:22Speaker 6: you know, let me see if I start. Yeah, let
- 1:01:24Speaker 6: me see if I can run with these guys.
- 1:01:26Speaker 1: Yeah. How to work out for you at first in college? Yeah,
- 1:01:30Speaker 1: you know it's intimidating. Yeah, you know how it is, absolutely, Yes, like.
- 1:01:34Speaker 6: It's it's intimidating, but it's like once you get that
- 1:01:38Speaker 6: first compliment, dude, hey, this white boy can play.
- 1:01:40Speaker 1: That's all. Hey, you're pretty this for a white guy.
- 1:01:44Speaker 1: It's okay. We've we're making it out here.
- 1:01:46Speaker 9: That's why that's why it might be one of the
- 1:01:48Speaker 9: best athletes of all time. Yeah, yeah, there's no question
- 1:01:50Speaker 9: about it. You are you really think you're him at
- 1:01:52Speaker 9: that point?
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: Yeah, when you're in New York and you're sifting through this,
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: you're seeing guys like Bill Burr, who wasn't Bill Burr
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: at the time. How do you when you're trying to
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: find your own voice, not steal from these other guys,
- 1:02:02Speaker 1: or not get influenced too much by being around all
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: these other people all the time, because I'm sure you
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: watch a set and you're like, damn, that's shit. That
- 1:02:07Speaker 1: is funny, and it's kind of up your alley of
- 1:02:10Speaker 1: humor because it's such a subjective like career. Like some
- 1:02:14Speaker 1: guys you just don't think are funny. Some guys you do.
- 1:02:16Speaker 1: Like when you see it, dude and they do a bit,
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: you're like, man, how do you not steal it?
- 1:02:20Speaker 9: Uh, well, steal your bit, you wouldn't do because it's, uh,
- 1:02:23Speaker 9: their cadence is a big thing, so you can sound
- 1:02:26Speaker 9: like them. So the way someone tells a joke and
- 1:02:30Speaker 9: makes it funny is, uh, there's something that that's that's
- 1:02:35Speaker 9: something that can get taken that I would always talk
- 1:02:38Speaker 9: with my buddy Yannis about it. Are Heanness would always
- 1:02:40Speaker 9: bring up like that's worse than stealing a joke because
- 1:02:42Speaker 9: it's like you're stealing the way to tell the joke.
- 1:02:45Speaker 9: So it's like the other stuff doesn't really matter. It's like,
- 1:02:48Speaker 9: you know, Roan Reagan has a distinct like thing when
- 1:02:51Speaker 9: you know when like, you know when to laugh, you
- 1:02:53Speaker 9: know when to do it. David Tel does too, and
- 1:02:56Speaker 9: so you'd have to catch yourself sounding like them. David
- 1:02:58Speaker 9: Tail is a big one that and I was a
- 1:03:01Speaker 9: lot of people sounded like David Tel. I could catch
- 1:03:03Speaker 9: myself in a little rhythm of David Tel. My accent
- 1:03:06Speaker 9: would hide it, so I don't think anybody realized it,
- 1:03:08Speaker 9: but I could feel it. Like I was like, oh,
- 1:03:11Speaker 9: I'm like watching him too much, and so you gotta
- 1:03:15Speaker 9: and you don't want to start writing jokes like that,
- 1:03:17Speaker 9: because then that's when you can see a comic if
- 1:03:20Speaker 9: they get too far. You're like, oh, you sound like this, right, Like,
- 1:03:24Speaker 9: even though you're doing jokes that are different, but you
- 1:03:26Speaker 9: sound like him. And that's the part that you wanna
- 1:03:30Speaker 9: if you want to be your own voice, you got
- 1:03:31Speaker 9: to be super aware of that.
- 1:03:33Speaker 1: If you're sifting through the comment section in one of
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: your posts on Instagram, is that one of the more
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: insulting things to see is oh, you sound like so
- 1:03:40Speaker 1: and so.
- 1:03:40Speaker 9: If they do, uh yeah, I mean I don't know
- 1:03:43Speaker 9: if I can distinctly remember. I would have some like uh,
- 1:03:47Speaker 9: you know, people tell you they or they've heard this
- 1:03:49Speaker 9: joke before they the jokes stealing thing they got all started.
- 1:03:53Speaker 9: I don't it's not as I think, as crazy as
- 1:03:57Speaker 9: people think it is, Like it wasn't. It's it's just
- 1:04:01Speaker 9: not you know, they made it into this big thing.
- 1:04:04Speaker 9: A lot of times when jokes are stolen, you can
- 1:04:06Speaker 9: really look at the joke and be like, uh, it's
- 1:04:09Speaker 9: a it's not a super original idea, and you're like,
- 1:04:12Speaker 9: I don't know, dude. I mean like I could see
- 1:04:14Speaker 9: two people coming up with this thing, and you really
- 1:04:17Speaker 9: look at it like that. I mean, there's comics. There's
- 1:04:19Speaker 9: only so much we're all doing the exact same thing.
- 1:04:21Speaker 9: There's only so much that anybody's doing.
- 1:04:23Speaker 1: If you're in a.
- 1:04:24Speaker 9: World that like you're single and you're going out and
- 1:04:27Speaker 9: you're drinking, well that's fifty comics that are single, going
- 1:04:30Speaker 9: out and drinking.
- 1:04:31Speaker 1: So what are they gona talk about? They're gonll you're
- 1:04:33Speaker 1: gonna all.
- 1:04:33Speaker 9: Talk about the same kind of things, right, So that
- 1:04:36Speaker 9: stuff gets thrown in a lot that it's you know,
- 1:04:40Speaker 9: you're like, I don't know. I think it happens in
- 1:04:42Speaker 9: movies though, something like that that's over him, like Star
- 1:04:45Speaker 9: Wars and Harry Potter, like any yeah, like writers in
- 1:04:48Speaker 9: a movie, like I would say, writ a TV show writer,
- 1:04:50Speaker 9: like you could.
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: There's stuff like that that I I mean, I don't
- 1:04:54Speaker 1: know if I could.
- 1:04:54Speaker 9: You could ever, I don't know if there's an example
- 1:04:57Speaker 9: to say it, But like that stuff you get nervous
- 1:05:00Speaker 9: about because I mean, someone writing a movie, like they
- 1:05:02Speaker 9: could just grab a joke from some comic and just
- 1:05:07Speaker 9: the joke in the comic.
- 1:05:08Speaker 6: You're talking like, if I happen to be some writer
- 1:05:10Speaker 6: and I'm liking your stand up a story you tell,
- 1:05:13Speaker 6: it's like, oh, I'm gonna put this in that movie.
- 1:05:15Speaker 9: Yeah, or it could be influenced by it. It could be
- 1:05:17Speaker 9: there's a lot of thing and I mean that's and
- 1:05:19Speaker 9: that's masked so much that I mean, you can't even
- 1:05:22Speaker 9: how you're gonna, you know, be like that that's my
- 1:05:24Speaker 9: joke and you're like, well they say it, Like.
- 1:05:27Speaker 1: I want to say, that's that's been talked about.
- 1:05:31Speaker 9: That really be wall Uh that Wahlberg's uh the Boston
- 1:05:39Speaker 9: bombing the movie Wahlberg about the Boston Boston bombers. I
- 1:05:44Speaker 9: think there's a joke about an iron or something at
- 1:05:47Speaker 9: the beginning of it, and I want to say that
- 1:05:49Speaker 9: joke might be something that's like from a comic.
- 1:05:51Speaker 6: And now that I'm thinking about it, I want to
- 1:05:52Speaker 6: say it was like THEO talking about uh yeah, oh
- 1:05:56Speaker 6: yeah it was the the show Dave right, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:06:01Speaker 6: but he was digesting it.
- 1:06:02Speaker 1: I mean you could tell he was alluded to it.
- 1:06:04Speaker 1: He wasn't.
- 1:06:04Speaker 6: I don't think he was being like, all this is
- 1:06:06Speaker 6: fact because ultimately I guess you you don't.
- 1:06:10Speaker 1: Right, yeah, right, but yeah, that's a good point.
- 1:06:13Speaker 9: You hear something he says that of yeah, and you're like,
- 1:06:15Speaker 9: I mean they're gonna you got the and how do
- 1:06:19Speaker 9: not saying all these writers are writers are not doing
- 1:06:22Speaker 9: the majority of we're not doing it. But it's like
- 1:06:25Speaker 9: I been you know, yeah, it's like they're gonna be.
- 1:06:28Speaker 9: You're gonna be influenced by people. You wanna hear things here.
- 1:06:30Speaker 9: There's so much content now, so you're hearing stuff all
- 1:06:33Speaker 9: the time. You you might not realize like where you
- 1:06:35Speaker 9: would have possibly heard that.
- 1:06:36Speaker 1: Yeah, but the still in the joke thing seems like
- 1:06:39Speaker 1: you other commenting it, like I mean, there was there
- 1:06:42Speaker 1: was one reference like I was a big dang cook
- 1:06:45Speaker 1: guy growing up. I was like right around my middle
- 1:06:47Speaker 1: school time and Dan Cook. We all loved it. We
- 1:06:50Speaker 1: all loved them. There was a big time where people
- 1:06:53Speaker 1: were like, Dan Cook stole a joke, the same joke
- 1:06:56Speaker 1: as Lewis c. K told about having a kid. He
- 1:06:59Speaker 1: doesn't have a kid right now, but when he has
- 1:07:00Speaker 1: a kid, he's gonna name something ridiculous, like just one
- 1:07:03Speaker 1: letter five of them and then he like allegedly, I
- 1:07:06Speaker 1: haven't really looked too much into it, so I'm kind
- 1:07:07Speaker 1: of just speaking out of pocket here, But Dane just
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: changed the letter essentially and did his like his cadence
- 1:07:13Speaker 1: and all that, because they're totally different comments.
- 1:07:15Speaker 9: Yeah, I think there's another like his itchy butthole or
- 1:07:19Speaker 9: something was another joke like that, and it was uh yeah,
- 1:07:23Speaker 9: I mean I remember all that stuff going on Amy Schumer.
- 1:07:26Speaker 9: I was around Amy a lot, and people would blame
- 1:07:29Speaker 9: but it's like, I just it's some of it you're
- 1:07:33Speaker 9: I mean, the Dane and the Louis thing. I look,
- 1:07:35Speaker 9: I don't know. I mean maybe they did it's and
- 1:07:39Speaker 9: they maybe subconsciously did it. I don't know if I
- 1:07:42Speaker 9: just find it hard to believe people are like on
- 1:07:43Speaker 9: purpose doing this stuff. Yeah, not saying that's right to
- 1:07:47Speaker 9: subconsciously do it like you should somewhat try to check,
- 1:07:49Speaker 9: but it's overall you're like, I don't know, dude, Like
- 1:07:53Speaker 9: they're not comics, are not just taking each other? Said,
- 1:07:56Speaker 9: where are you gonna go do this?
- 1:07:57Speaker 1: You know? Yeah, where you're gonna get caught.
- 1:07:59Speaker 9: You're going to get especially now with And then the
- 1:08:02Speaker 9: thing that was frustrating is it makes it then everybody like,
- 1:08:05Speaker 9: so if you have a joke similar to someone else,
- 1:08:07Speaker 9: someone's like, do you steal that joke from that person?
- 1:08:09Speaker 9: You're like, no, dude, we're all talking about the same thing. Like,
- 1:08:12Speaker 9: no one's stealing a joke. They're just people are talking
- 1:08:15Speaker 9: about stuff. It usually goes to you gotta look at
- 1:08:18Speaker 9: what the joke is to be like, is it that
- 1:08:20Speaker 9: original of an idea? And a lot of times it's not.
- 1:08:24Speaker 9: And then it's like something that's kind of like there's
- 1:08:26Speaker 9: jokes out there where you're like, I think I've heard
- 1:08:28Speaker 9: my uncle say that joke. You know, yeah, that person's
- 1:08:30Speaker 9: not stealing that joke. It's like just telling kind of
- 1:08:33Speaker 9: a hacky joke. We interrupt this podcast to bring you
- 1:08:38Speaker 9: a sponsor, sport Clips. Your hair may grow fast, but

- 1:09:29Speaker 1: haircut sport Clips. It's a game changer. With that said,
- 1:09:32Speaker 1: back to this episode, Japier, are you catching all that
- 1:09:34Speaker 1: rain in the headphones? I keep seeing Garrett look back
- 1:09:38Speaker 1: and forth and stuff like that.
- 1:09:40Speaker 6: You just you hear the rain get even harder, and
- 1:09:43Speaker 6: you're just like, fuck the one hour we're getting Nate on? Yeah, perfect,
- 1:09:50Speaker 6: As he's telling a story, you just hear her get
- 1:09:52Speaker 6: louder and louder.
- 1:09:53Speaker 1: Yeah, when uh, make doesn't Yeah we don't need that. Yeah,
- 1:09:59Speaker 1: we definitely didn't not need that in our lives. Do
- 1:10:01Speaker 1: you catch that it's absolutely going on? There's like flood
- 1:10:04Speaker 1: warnings the median. Do you ever get just tired of
- 1:10:08Speaker 1: being funny?
- 1:10:10Speaker 6: Like when you're doing you're like, you know, you kind
- 1:10:11Speaker 6: of fall in love with it in New York and
- 1:10:13Speaker 6: you're grinding through it and even now it's just like
- 1:10:15Speaker 6: you're just you've blown up. Like as a comedian, I've
- 1:10:18Speaker 6: always I don't know why I never asked them, but
- 1:10:20Speaker 6: I'm just thinking, do you guys just ever get tired
- 1:10:21Speaker 6: of just being like everybody?
- 1:10:23Speaker 9: Every room I step into, I'm expected to be funny? Yeah,
- 1:10:27Speaker 9: I mean you have to be on. That's the part
- 1:10:30Speaker 9: of that's hard. But I think you all would experience that.
- 1:10:32Speaker 9: You know how many times you got to feel like
- 1:10:33Speaker 9: you're on? So when you go out to a public event,
- 1:10:36Speaker 9: when you go to something or like that kind of thing,
- 1:10:38Speaker 9: or you meet people and like it's it's the being
- 1:10:40Speaker 9: on is the thing that gets exhausting.
- 1:10:43Speaker 1: That's for anybody.
- 1:10:44Speaker 9: I mean, people can feel that if they go to
- 1:10:46Speaker 9: work and they feel like they have to kind of
- 1:10:48Speaker 9: be like all right, I gotta turn it on a
- 1:10:50Speaker 9: little bit.
- 1:10:50Speaker 1: I gotta be better, you.
- 1:10:51Speaker 9: Know, I'm we're gonna die about this fucking funny that
- 1:10:56Speaker 9: like out of this stuff we're in like a garage. Also,
- 1:11:00Speaker 9: stuff that I don't think you're supposed to be in
- 1:11:01Speaker 9: inside of a storm. Is we're in a garage and
- 1:11:04Speaker 9: you're like, all right, well that you should be in there,
- 1:11:07Speaker 9: but at least you're not in a bus inside of it.
- 1:11:09Speaker 9: You're like, oh, we're in a bus, one of the
- 1:11:12Speaker 9: old buses that look like it's driving around trying to
- 1:11:15Speaker 9: be struck by lighting.
- 1:11:16Speaker 1: Uh. Yeah, yeah, we're in danger right now. We are
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: in danger.
- 1:11:20Speaker 6: The being on thing, the being on things true because
- 1:11:22Speaker 6: anytime you come across like fans and everything else, you
- 1:11:24Speaker 6: want them to be like you know, you don't want
- 1:11:26Speaker 6: to like let people down or all of a sudden
- 1:11:28Speaker 6: you're like an ass on that You're like, you know
- 1:11:29Speaker 6: that you're fucking not even.
- 1:11:30Speaker 1: Yeah, because it only takes one bad impression for them
- 1:11:33Speaker 1: to be off you forever. Yeah. Yeah, you know, you
- 1:11:35Speaker 1: meet somebody, it's you. It's either you or not you.
- 1:11:37Speaker 9: So like usually when you meet if someone meets someone
- 1:11:40Speaker 9: famous and they're kind of stand offish whatever, you're like, yeah, man,
- 1:11:43Speaker 9: that person's probably like that in real life.
- 1:11:45Speaker 1: Yeah, And otherwise it's yeah, it's.
- 1:11:48Speaker 9: Like the crowd and the audience should not feel my
- 1:11:52Speaker 9: tiredness or my whatever, like that's not on them to
- 1:11:55Speaker 9: do any of that stuff. Yeah, So there's like little
- 1:11:58Speaker 9: moments like that. But I mean I don't have to
- 1:12:00Speaker 9: I ever feel with an audience. You feel it with like,
- 1:12:03Speaker 9: you know, the business side of sometimes just because you're
- 1:12:06Speaker 9: like the audience you're like grateful for because that's the
- 1:12:08Speaker 9: reason you're here.
- 1:12:11Speaker 1: Sometimes you gotta go do the business side of things,
- 1:12:13Speaker 1: and then you're like yeah, but business side you can
- 1:12:16Speaker 1: like kind of turn it on and off. I feel
- 1:12:18Speaker 1: like the being on thing is like when you're just
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: walking somewhere and someone's like, hey, I like you for this,
- 1:12:25Speaker 1: and then you feel like, Okay, I have to make
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: sure this person has a good experience. Yeah, that way
- 1:12:29Speaker 1: that it's like the move It Forward or what's that movie? Hey,
- 1:12:32Speaker 1: everything paying forward? And then just like one person tells
- 1:12:35Speaker 1: two people, it's like we got to make sure yeah, yeah,
- 1:12:37Speaker 1: this person's happy with their experience and move on. If
- 1:12:40Speaker 1: that happens too many times, that's when it kind of
- 1:12:42Speaker 1: gets a little draining.
- 1:12:42Speaker 9: Be nice and the mide. That's what's so, that's the
- 1:12:44Speaker 9: easiest part about it. It's really a lot easier just
- 1:12:46Speaker 9: to be nice and move on. And it's like, it
- 1:12:48Speaker 9: is funny if you someone that doesn't want to be
- 1:12:51Speaker 9: like that, you're like, well, you make it much harder
- 1:12:52Speaker 9: bout being kind of mean. Yeah, you could just be
- 1:12:55Speaker 9: nice and it would move very quickly, no doubt.
- 1:12:57Speaker 1: Has there ever been a person that you've like kind
- 1:12:59Speaker 1: of looked up too and then you meet him and
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: you're like, fuck, don't meet your hero type thing. You
- 1:13:05Speaker 1: brought up one person that universally seems like people are
- 1:13:09Speaker 1: not a huge fan of that's Jerry Seinfeld. Yeah.
- 1:13:12Speaker 9: I so I've only been I've talked to him once.
- 1:13:19Speaker 9: I'm a giant sein Fold fan. So I still want
- 1:13:22Speaker 9: to go to so I don't have. There was a
- 1:13:24Speaker 9: lot of people that have said that they didn't he
- 1:13:26Speaker 9: can be kind of staying officer. He can be and
- 1:13:27Speaker 9: they would be that with comics and stuff like that.
- 1:13:30Speaker 9: I mean, I don't look at that too much. Somebody
- 1:13:32Speaker 9: because the year he's sixty something years old, like doing
- 1:13:34Speaker 9: comedy for forty years or more, so some of that
- 1:13:39Speaker 9: I look at like, yeah, does you want to talk
- 1:13:41Speaker 9: to Like I mean, I'm an open micer to him,
- 1:13:43Speaker 9: like you know, he's done comedy so much longer than me.
- 1:13:46Speaker 1: Like not that I'm an open by, but you know
- 1:13:48Speaker 1: what I mean.
- 1:13:48Speaker 9: Like it's like you're so if you were having talking
- 1:13:51Speaker 9: to some seventh grader about being a lineman there's something
- 1:13:55Speaker 9: like playing football, you'd be like, what do we go
- 1:13:57Speaker 9: talk about?
- 1:13:58Speaker 1: Dude? Like I don't, I can't, you're knew, So.
- 1:14:01Speaker 9: Sometimes like I think of it like that, like people
- 1:14:03Speaker 9: were like, ah, he wasn't not like comics specifically, could
- 1:14:07Speaker 9: think like I didn't like the way he left, and
- 1:14:09Speaker 9: you're like, what do you want him to do?
- 1:14:11Speaker 1: Like just I don't know? Like that, So I've had
- 1:14:14Speaker 1: no Louis c.
- 1:14:16Speaker 9: K thought I had a little bit with when I
- 1:14:19Speaker 9: first started.
- 1:14:21Speaker 1: Now it's not.
- 1:14:22Speaker 9: I mean, obviously he's come back down to reality a
- 1:14:25Speaker 9: little bit. Uh, that happens, a little bit. That happens
- 1:14:28Speaker 9: a little bit.
- 1:14:29Speaker 1: Have you heard Pete Davidson's a bit about that he
- 1:14:32Speaker 1: talks about I guess. Uh. Luisy K was hosting SNL
- 1:14:35Speaker 1: and then Pete Davidson got high and he was walking
- 1:14:38Speaker 1: through to go to the elevators, and like Luisy K
- 1:14:39Speaker 1: caught up with him and he was like, hey, stop
- 1:14:41Speaker 1: getting high, you're ruining your fucking life. Blah blah blah blah,
- 1:14:44Speaker 1: like kind of dug into him and Pete's high' is
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: like that didn't happen. There's no way that actually just happened.
- 1:14:48Speaker 1: And the next day, whoever, who's the guy, is it
- 1:14:52Speaker 1: Lauren that Lauren's like no, yeah, he calls Pete into
- 1:14:56Speaker 1: the office and essentially it's like people have done coke
- 1:14:59Speaker 1: here before, like just I guess, don't let Luisy K smoke,
- 1:15:02Speaker 1: and then his whole bit is going into so you'd
- 1:15:04Speaker 1: be so happy when I found out on one great
- 1:15:06Speaker 1: day that he was jerking off in front of ladies
- 1:15:08Speaker 1: and stuff like that, and it's a it's a pretty
- 1:15:09Speaker 1: funny deal. Funny.
- 1:15:11Speaker 9: Yeah, it's like he, uh, Louie's been I have like now,
- 1:15:16Speaker 9: it's not been back when I was when I I
- 1:15:18Speaker 9: remember I opened for him once a long time ago,
- 1:15:20Speaker 9: and uh, he was just kinda like I don't know,
- 1:15:24Speaker 9: he was just I mean like at one point Louis
- 1:15:26Speaker 9: was on top of the world, like so in you know,
- 1:15:29Speaker 9: we're in New York, like, I mean, he is the
- 1:15:31Speaker 9: biggest comic on the planet and uh, and it.
- 1:15:35Speaker 1: Would come off.
- 1:15:36Speaker 9: Sometimes you can meet him and he'd be kind of
- 1:15:38Speaker 9: like jerkier, like you know, just not nice, not being nice,
- 1:15:42Speaker 9: and you're like, you know, and you're a young comic
- 1:15:43Speaker 9: and you're just thinking, like I'm just said, I'm nobody, dude,
- 1:15:46Speaker 9: like just I'm not in you know, I'm not trying
- 1:15:48Speaker 9: to have You're trying.
- 1:15:48Speaker 1: To get out of his way.
- 1:15:50Speaker 9: You're trying to do all these things, and he would
- 1:15:52Speaker 9: just you know, I remember he would just say, like
- 1:15:54Speaker 9: you I brought him up on stage and you'd be like,
- 1:15:57Speaker 9: all right, everybody York sided to see, uh your headliner tonight,
- 1:16:01Speaker 9: please welcome Louis c K. Like and then I brought
- 1:16:04Speaker 9: him on sage and he's like, don't introduce me like
- 1:16:06Speaker 9: that and look in a weird way, there's a valid
- 1:16:10Speaker 9: point and to be like they are there to see him.
- 1:16:12Speaker 9: I don't really need to say anything but please welcome
- 1:16:14Speaker 9: Louis c K. But the other side of it, I've
- 1:16:18Speaker 9: been doing comedy six years at this point, I don't
- 1:16:20Speaker 9: know what to do. I'm nervous, like like it was
- 1:16:23Speaker 9: part of you, Like, why don't you think about the
- 1:16:25Speaker 9: situation that we have. I'm getting I can't believe I'm here.
- 1:16:28Speaker 9: I can't believe I'm getting to go up in front
- 1:16:30Speaker 9: of you. This is it's a sold out room. I've
- 1:16:33Speaker 9: never been in front of a sold out room. There's
- 1:16:36Speaker 9: a lot of things playing into it. So you're like,
- 1:16:38Speaker 9: there was like that kind of stuff with Louis where
- 1:16:40Speaker 9: he would just like say to You're like, what do
- 1:16:42Speaker 9: you want me to do?
- 1:16:42Speaker 4: Dude?
- 1:16:43Speaker 1: How how'd you introduce him? You just where you're like,
- 1:16:46Speaker 1: all right, y'axcite you know I'm from.
- 1:16:47Speaker 9: You're like giving his credits and all this stuff, and
- 1:16:50Speaker 9: it's just like you don't have to sell all my credits.
- 1:16:52Speaker 1: You don't.
- 1:16:52Speaker 9: They know who they're here to see, which is true,
- 1:16:55Speaker 9: and that makes you don't need to say it, like yeah,
- 1:16:57Speaker 9: but it would just be like he come tell you that,
- 1:17:00Speaker 9: but in like kind of an aggressive way, and you're like, Louis,
- 1:17:02Speaker 9: I don't know what to do, dude. I'm know I'm
- 1:17:04Speaker 9: so nervous about this whole experience. I just don't want
- 1:17:09Speaker 9: you to be mad. Yeah, yeah, like I I and
- 1:17:13Speaker 9: you're mad clearly. And then now I don't know nothing.
- 1:17:17Speaker 9: He's that mad. But it's just being like, just be regular, man,
- 1:17:20Speaker 9: Just be normal. You don't even say I don't even
- 1:17:22Speaker 9: know the green room.
- 1:17:24Speaker 1: Like I'm trying my best.
- 1:17:25Speaker 9: I'm trying to like, hey, I'm just doing whatever I
- 1:17:27Speaker 9: can do. I did a joke and then he went
- 1:17:30Speaker 9: up and made fun of my joke, and that made
- 1:17:33Speaker 9: me so mad. I was so mad about this. I
- 1:17:34Speaker 9: was so mad about this for a long time because
- 1:17:36Speaker 9: it was just like it was like, dude, we're nobody's man.
- 1:17:39Speaker 9: I'm I'm I got paid seventy five dollars that night,
- 1:17:42Speaker 9: like I think for hosting, so pray seventy five bucks.
- 1:17:46Speaker 9: That's it, and I'm fine, and I it's I would
- 1:17:48Speaker 9: do that, would do that game for free.
- 1:17:50Speaker 1: But you're like, what do you I'm again, I'm not.
- 1:17:53Speaker 6: I'm just so when you got off the stage, he
- 1:17:55Speaker 6: came up and made funny and make.
- 1:17:56Speaker 9: Fun of the Yeah, I was pretty upset about that.
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: You remember the joke. Yeah, it was a joke.
- 1:18:01Speaker 9: The joke I had about uh uh, if if I
- 1:18:07Speaker 9: don't have a gun in my house, I have like
- 1:18:09Speaker 9: a knife or something in my next to my bed.
- 1:18:11Speaker 9: So if my if but I have my wife sleep
- 1:18:14Speaker 9: next to the door so if someone broke in, I
- 1:18:16Speaker 9: can shove her at it. And then it was something
- 1:18:19Speaker 9: like that joke, I'm not great at memory, and then
- 1:18:21Speaker 9: other ones that would I take a bullet for my wife?
- 1:18:23Speaker 9: That was it, and I was like and I said yes,
- 1:18:26Speaker 9: because how could I ever take a bullet? That's pretty fast,
- 1:18:29Speaker 9: you know, for a gun to be You can't like
- 1:18:31Speaker 9: hear a gun go off and jump in front of it.
- 1:18:33Speaker 9: It would hit her so quick. So you're like, I
- 1:18:35Speaker 9: just would say, yeah, I will take a bullet. I'll
- 1:18:37Speaker 9: take a bull for anybody, because I'm never gonna be
- 1:18:39Speaker 9: able to get in front of that bullet.
- 1:18:41Speaker 1: And that was like kind of the joke.
- 1:18:43Speaker 9: And then he was like, well, you stand in front
- 1:18:46Speaker 9: of him when the person holds a gun, you then
- 1:18:48Speaker 9: get in front of her. He like, just like he
- 1:18:50Speaker 9: described it the way like my wife would describe it
- 1:18:52Speaker 9: and make it like not fun, like the way you
- 1:18:54Speaker 9: have like your parent would just be like, well, I
- 1:18:56Speaker 9: don't know if it's gonna work like that. You're like, yeah,
- 1:18:58Speaker 9: it's a joke. We're just trying to have fun. The
- 1:19:00Speaker 9: whole crowd is gonna laugh because they laughed like then
- 1:19:03Speaker 9: making fun of me, and then you're like and then
- 1:19:05Speaker 9: you're just like sitting there like you know, I'm twenty
- 1:19:08Speaker 9: seven years old, Like why would you What do I
- 1:19:12Speaker 9: have to do with anything?
- 1:19:13Speaker 6: Right?
- 1:19:13Speaker 1: Like, please leave me out of this.
- 1:19:14Speaker 9: Yeah, you're I'm just doing a spot, dude, I'm hosting.
- 1:19:17Speaker 9: Hannibal was supposed to be on that show too, Burst
- 1:19:19Speaker 9: and he didn't even show up to the first show
- 1:19:22Speaker 9: and uh he was hosting and then like that was
- 1:19:24Speaker 9: mad at that. I'll tell you that. I was mad
- 1:19:26Speaker 9: at the whole night. You start snowballs me and I'm like,
- 1:19:31Speaker 9: I'm here, Yeah, we Hannimal didn't show up like I did,
- 1:19:35Speaker 9: like a little more time, yeah, because handle want to
- 1:19:37Speaker 9: show up and you're still making fun of me. This
- 1:19:40Speaker 9: was Hannibal is like starting to because I started with
- 1:19:42Speaker 9: Hannibal and Hanbibal was like he started writing for S
- 1:19:44Speaker 9: and L. At this point he was on thirty Rock
- 1:19:45Speaker 9: I think, or writing for thirty Rock. Handa was great,
- 1:19:48Speaker 9: and so he was like starting to like really kind
- 1:19:50Speaker 9: of blow up and we were and I was just,
- 1:19:53Speaker 9: you know, still at the bottom. So I didn't care
- 1:19:56Speaker 9: for the whole thing. But now it's been fine, I've
- 1:19:57Speaker 9: never told Loui that, but why would he watches the show.
- 1:20:02Speaker 1: That show up? You're like, texta, Hannibal, did you know
- 1:20:04Speaker 1: this is gonna happen?
- 1:20:05Speaker 6: Yeah? Yeah, Well you guys fucking had it out for me.
- 1:20:07Speaker 6: Huh d yeah, Hannibal. Well, Hannibal was late because of
- 1:20:10Speaker 6: thirty Rock.
- 1:20:11Speaker 9: But I remember I just remember thinking why, like I'm
- 1:20:14Speaker 9: the one here, yeah, and I'm just getting trashed.
- 1:20:18Speaker 1: If I wasn't here, there be no one else but
- 1:20:20Speaker 1: you on the show.
- 1:20:21Speaker 9: Yeah, you know, you're just sayingthing to Hannibal. He was excited,
- 1:20:23Speaker 9: hannimals on the show. Hannibal was like again starting to
- 1:20:27Speaker 9: kind of rise off and do good. So it was
- 1:20:29Speaker 9: like it was cool to have Hannibal. Were you thinking
- 1:20:31Speaker 9: your head at the time, I'm never doing this again. No,
- 1:20:34Speaker 9: I mean I you would use that. I mean honestly,
- 1:20:37Speaker 9: I would use it for like I hate this dude,
- 1:20:39Speaker 9: and like I will make sure he knows me right,
- 1:20:43Speaker 9: like you honestly not to act like a brag or anything,
- 1:20:47Speaker 9: but in your head at the moment, I would always
- 1:20:50Speaker 9: just flip it to like, all right, I will be
- 1:20:52Speaker 9: positive that you know, And he would never Louie would
- 1:20:57Speaker 9: never remember any of this, as he probably should.
- 1:21:00Speaker 1: He should have remember it.
- 1:21:01Speaker 9: I was really there's no reason he would know me
- 1:21:03Speaker 9: at the time, you know what I mean, Like, I
- 1:21:04Speaker 9: don't expect, but these are moments that I would use.
- 1:21:07Speaker 9: I would be I was so mad about the situation.
- 1:21:09Speaker 9: And then you're like, all right, all right, well, then
- 1:21:12Speaker 9: this is where I'm at in comedy, So I need
- 1:21:15Speaker 9: to be get to a level that like, I'm not
- 1:21:17Speaker 9: gonna get treated like this, and so you just use
- 1:21:20Speaker 9: that drive to like.
- 1:21:22Speaker 1: Chip on your shoulder, Yeah, telling yourself whatever you can whatever. Yeah,
- 1:21:25Speaker 1: make sure that hey, people will know someday. But I'm
- 1:21:28Speaker 1: laughing now.
- 1:21:29Speaker 9: Yeah, someone other person could probably look at that situation
- 1:21:31Speaker 9: and be like, dude, he like said he liked you,
- 1:21:34Speaker 9: and maybe he was making a funny joke at the
- 1:21:35Speaker 9: beginning about you. It was all very sweet. In my head.
- 1:21:38Speaker 9: It's like, I mean, it's armageddon. I'm like, right, But
- 1:21:42Speaker 9: someone else could be like, no, well he was being nice.
- 1:21:44Speaker 9: What are you talking about? Like I could have read
- 1:21:45Speaker 9: the whole situation wrong, Yeah, but I did, and I
- 1:21:49Speaker 9: read it the way I read it, and then you
- 1:21:51Speaker 9: just like kind of go, all right, we'll grint it.
- 1:21:53Speaker 1: You know, man, I wonder what you were feeling during
- 1:21:55Speaker 1: has like whole what if he did an hour or whatever,
- 1:21:57Speaker 1: just kind of sitting there and slowly like that seed
- 1:21:59Speaker 1: of a started. Oh by the end of that hour,
- 1:22:01Speaker 1: it had to be a full plant, like you had
- 1:22:03Speaker 1: to be fucking ready. Oh.
- 1:22:04Speaker 9: I was like, yeah, I mean I think I did
- 1:22:06Speaker 9: one more show. We're doing a show for his school,
- 1:22:09Speaker 9: for his daughter's school, like a fundraiser. Uh so, uh
- 1:22:14Speaker 9: because he was at We're at Carolines and he wouldn't
- 1:22:16Speaker 9: be because I mean he's at this point, he's doing
- 1:22:18Speaker 9: massive square garden, so he's just doing this for a
- 1:22:20Speaker 9: fundraiser and uh.
- 1:22:23Speaker 1: So yeah, I mean it all built in.
- 1:22:24Speaker 9: I mean I sit there watching them though too, Like
- 1:22:26Speaker 9: I mean obviously he's he's unreal like so he was like,
- 1:22:29Speaker 9: you know, you're sitting there watching me, and that's you know,
- 1:22:31Speaker 9: that's part of you that it hurts, is like because
- 1:22:33Speaker 9: it's like the dude you're like sitting there going like
- 1:22:36Speaker 9: that's the main guy.
- 1:22:38Speaker 1: Like Burr I always had much.
- 1:22:39Speaker 9: Burr was very nice to me and would say things
- 1:22:42Speaker 9: and like be very so you just would have like
- 1:22:45Speaker 9: little parts of you know where you got treated by
- 1:22:49Speaker 9: this person. And I'm not trying to reflect on what
- 1:22:53Speaker 9: they are now or anything, but it was like these
- 1:22:55Speaker 9: were little things that you'd be like, they really stick
- 1:23:00Speaker 9: with you.
- 1:23:00Speaker 1: Ladies, gentlemen. We interrupt this podcast to bring you another

- 1:23:51Speaker 1: said back to this episode, Yeah, who's somebody now? Might
- 1:23:54Speaker 1: be Bill burb but who are who are?
- 1:23:56Speaker 6: Who is a comic or a couple comics that have
- 1:23:58Speaker 6: been like the most encouraging that you actually think about
- 1:24:00Speaker 6: back then when you're younger and building these chips on
- 1:24:02Speaker 6: your shoulders and people have kind of pulled you aside
- 1:24:04Speaker 6: or given you any kind of advice or something where
- 1:24:06Speaker 6: it's like, man, this really stuck with me. This this
- 1:24:09Speaker 6: comic might have no idea. Bill Burr, this stuck with
- 1:24:12Speaker 6: me throughout my entire career.
- 1:24:14Speaker 9: Yeah, Burr was. Burr was a big one because Burr
- 1:24:16Speaker 9: I rememberer. Uh he told me. Uh again it was
- 1:24:20Speaker 9: at Carolines and uh because we go watch Burr like
- 1:24:25Speaker 9: before he blew up, and he'd be like you could
- 1:24:27Speaker 9: go sit in the back of the room and watch
- 1:24:28Speaker 9: because it wasn't sold out. And then I remember the
- 1:24:30Speaker 9: next year it was it was like they wouldn't even
- 1:24:34Speaker 9: let us come in the room because it was too
- 1:24:36Speaker 9: sold out.
- 1:24:37Speaker 1: And like so but Burr like.
- 1:24:39Speaker 9: When you just when he knew your name, when he
- 1:24:41Speaker 9: like he knew he knew you, and uh, it was
- 1:24:45Speaker 9: it was a really big deal. And then I remember
- 1:24:47Speaker 9: him saying like look it Uh it takes the route
- 1:24:51Speaker 9: that guys let us go. It takes us a long time,
- 1:24:54Speaker 9: but you gain fans and you gain fans for life.
- 1:24:57Speaker 1: And I remember and.
- 1:24:58Speaker 9: I always thought about that throughout my whole career, like
- 1:25:01Speaker 9: how like you know, like this build up it take.
- 1:25:03Speaker 9: I've been coming twenty years and uh it's all just
- 1:25:07Speaker 9: like a slow like kind of just always going up.
- 1:25:10Speaker 9: Not a bad thing, but it can be frustrating. It
- 1:25:12Speaker 9: doesn't happen as fast as another one one said was
- 1:25:15Speaker 9: like it's not as it's uh not as fast as
- 1:25:18Speaker 9: you want, but quicker than you think, like, and so
- 1:25:21Speaker 9: you have these moments that just like it kind of
- 1:25:23Speaker 9: takes a slow kind of thing and you got to
- 1:25:25Speaker 9: just kind of grind it out. And so yeah, Burr
- 1:25:28Speaker 9: was a big part of that. Ad Mayor Marin was
- 1:25:31Speaker 9: very nice to me and uh foul and obviously too
- 1:25:35Speaker 9: did a lot of stuff for me. And uh so
- 1:25:37Speaker 9: there's just a world of people that end up, you know,
- 1:25:41Speaker 9: doing things that are very they're just nice to you
- 1:25:43Speaker 9: or there they see it and they go like, you know,
- 1:25:46Speaker 9: this dude's like the real deal, and you're you know,
- 1:25:48Speaker 9: you just need that little confidence that right then, you
- 1:25:51Speaker 9: know that like a little bit of yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah,
- 1:25:55Speaker 9: you want the validation from your peers. I mean that's
- 1:25:57Speaker 9: all that really matters, is uh what their comics? Yeah,
- 1:26:01Speaker 9: that's that's the beginning that you feel like what do
- 1:26:03Speaker 9: they think of us?
- 1:26:04Speaker 4: You know?
- 1:26:05Speaker 1: Is that process different though? When you like you've been
- 1:26:07Speaker 1: doing it for twenty years, you see a guy's been
- 1:26:08Speaker 1: doing it for maybe five or six years and they're
- 1:26:11Speaker 1: trying to accelerate their career. Do you ever sit with
- 1:26:15Speaker 1: those guys and be like, hey, just take your time.
- 1:26:17Speaker 1: Like some dudes are you know, trying to do too
- 1:26:20Speaker 1: much too early?
- 1:26:21Speaker 9: I think a lot. I think sometimes people can do
- 1:26:25Speaker 9: they can go too they can do too much stuff
- 1:26:27Speaker 9: that's like, uh, you know, they're like, I'm gonna do sketches,
- 1:26:30Speaker 9: i wanna do a podcast, I'm gonna do stand up,
- 1:26:32Speaker 9: I'm gonna do impro like and it's like, well, go
- 1:26:34Speaker 9: be great at one thing. If you can be great
- 1:26:37Speaker 9: at one thing, you can do all the other things.
- 1:26:40Speaker 9: But you have to you can't just be kind of
- 1:26:43Speaker 9: fine at a bunch of things. You need to really
- 1:26:45Speaker 9: learn how to be great at one thing, and that's
- 1:26:47Speaker 9: then you know how to be great at other things
- 1:26:49Speaker 9: because you know what it takes to become great or
- 1:26:52Speaker 9: really good at one thing. So I think soon as
- 1:26:54Speaker 9: like younger comics can spread them stuff out and there's
- 1:26:57Speaker 9: too much stuff that they're trying to do.
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: Uh, so you can see.
- 1:27:02Speaker 9: That I'm a big like younger comics like, I'm a
- 1:27:05Speaker 9: big I'm I'm a big act person. Like there's a
- 1:27:08Speaker 9: lot of crowd work stuff. I've look. I know people
- 1:27:11Speaker 9: can do crowd works. It's easiest to post content on
- 1:27:14Speaker 9: social media's the crowd work and stuff like that. But
- 1:27:17Speaker 9: I'm a creating an act is Ah, if you can
- 1:27:20Speaker 9: create an act, it's uh, it's it's it's the best
- 1:27:23Speaker 9: thing you can do, and it's it's the most reliable
- 1:27:26Speaker 9: and it's Uh when people come see you in d
- 1:27:29Speaker 9: a live show, they I mean they want to see
- 1:27:30Speaker 9: an act. They want to see a whole kind of thing.
- 1:27:33Speaker 9: And stand up is in such a great spot right now,
- 1:27:35Speaker 9: where like we're doing arenas and they're doing there's a
- 1:27:38Speaker 9: lot of comics doing arenas and doing these big kind
- 1:27:41Speaker 9: of venues and uh, stand ups in a pretty wonderful spot.
- 1:27:44Speaker 9: And you know, guys are selling out and doing big things,
- 1:27:47Speaker 9: and so it's you want them to be like the
- 1:27:51Speaker 9: exhausting part you gotta create. You got to create an act.
- 1:27:53Speaker 9: You gotta constant use stuff coming uh coming up with
- 1:27:56Speaker 9: stuff on the fly, like you look at like Shane,
- 1:28:00Speaker 9: I know the yard you know with Shane Gills, Like
- 1:28:02Speaker 9: Shane Gils is like I haven't seen someone like Shane
- 1:28:04Speaker 9: in a long time. And uh, he's he's unbelievable as
- 1:28:11Speaker 9: a comedian and like seeing him like I know his
- 1:28:12Speaker 9: what his next special is going to be, and it's
- 1:28:15Speaker 9: like it's gonna be great and he I've I mean
- 1:28:19Speaker 9: I've seen the hour he's run.
- 1:28:21Speaker 1: I didn't see the taping. Yeah we saw in Vegas.
- 1:28:24Speaker 6: Was dudeah, I I really I think feel the smiles
- 1:28:28Speaker 6: creeping up on our faces the minute he said Shane
- 1:28:30Speaker 6: ye like we.
- 1:28:31Speaker 1: Means the I mean so Shane.
- 1:28:33Speaker 9: Is yeah, like I mean, I uh, Shane's I wasn't
- 1:28:37Speaker 9: really there when Shane was there.
- 1:28:39Speaker 1: I don't.
- 1:28:40Speaker 9: I think I was gone. I've been a comedy forever.
- 1:28:42Speaker 9: Shane's like Shane's also reminder how old I am, Like
- 1:28:44Speaker 9: when you used to realize like I mean, he's been
- 1:28:47Speaker 9: a comedy for a little bit now, and uh he
- 1:28:51Speaker 9: was just he was like I remember hearing about him
- 1:28:53Speaker 9: when he first came out. He would go out with
- 1:28:54Speaker 9: Dan Soder a lot. Another comic. That's an unbelievable comedian.
- 1:28:58Speaker 9: That's Uh, SODA's really hitting the road now. Soda is
- 1:29:01Speaker 9: a great comedian that if you go watch, like me
- 1:29:04Speaker 9: and Soda are very close friends, and like he's friends
- 1:29:06Speaker 9: with Mike McDaniels. There is and uh, but SODA's like
- 1:29:10Speaker 9: was doing the Bonfire with Big Jay and uh, then
- 1:29:13Speaker 9: now he's doing comedy. He's really gonna go hit the
- 1:29:15Speaker 9: road really hard. So Soda like, that's what you gotta do. Like,
- 1:29:19Speaker 9: you got to go on the road, and you got
- 1:29:20Speaker 9: to just stay in these and build this stuff up.
- 1:29:23Speaker 9: And if you build these are guys that if you
- 1:29:24Speaker 9: build these acts, and they will because they their acts
- 1:29:27Speaker 9: are gonna be you start producing hours.
- 1:29:29Speaker 1: If you look at Louis or Carlin.
- 1:29:31Speaker 9: Or Chris Rocker all this kind of stuff, you know,
- 1:29:34Speaker 9: you're you're you're building these hours that you can go specials.
- 1:29:37Speaker 9: Gaffkin's just putting out a new special. It's I think
- 1:29:40Speaker 9: it's coming out this week maybe, Uh it's his tenth hour.
- 1:29:43Speaker 9: It's you know how hard it is to write ten
- 1:29:46Speaker 9: hours of material. It's basically impossible. There's no one that's
- 1:29:50Speaker 9: really that you know, that can do it. The limited
- 1:29:52Speaker 9: amount that can do it. It's a very small group.
- 1:29:56Speaker 9: And uh so it's like, go try to be in
- 1:29:58Speaker 9: that group, Like that's what that's what I look at,
- 1:30:01Speaker 9: like stim try to be in that group to go
- 1:30:03Speaker 9: produce stuff. That's why I think some people get it's
- 1:30:05Speaker 9: it's hard to do, it's tiring. Uh And so then
- 1:30:09Speaker 9: you can flip into slide into this other stuff where
- 1:30:12Speaker 9: it's like whether it be like if your whole act
- 1:30:13Speaker 9: becomes I'm not trying to crack. Some people are so
- 1:30:16Speaker 9: great at crowd work, but if your whole act becomes that,
- 1:30:20Speaker 9: then it's like you're not really creating, you know, it's
- 1:30:23Speaker 9: like you're just I think you get stuck. Versus if
- 1:30:26Speaker 9: you build an act. I think an act can go
- 1:30:28Speaker 9: because people want to go watch the show. I mean
- 1:30:30Speaker 9: you can't go really watch in an arena and just
- 1:30:32Speaker 9: be like sitting in the top watching a guy get
- 1:30:34Speaker 9: made fun of, you know, in the front row. That's
- 1:30:37Speaker 9: not gonna come across as fun for that person up
- 1:30:40Speaker 9: at the top. So there's always as big as it
- 1:30:42Speaker 9: can get, I think, And so like the ones that
- 1:30:45Speaker 9: are creating the act.
- 1:30:46Speaker 1: Because you're never actually like working on something.
- 1:30:48Speaker 6: Yeah, I'm going to your next show thinking you can
- 1:30:52Speaker 6: not like write, I don't know, I'm assuming like you're
- 1:30:54Speaker 6: just not writing things down or trying to work on
- 1:30:55Speaker 6: bits and be like I'm gonna go take it here.
- 1:30:57Speaker 1: You're just leaning on the fact that you can do
- 1:30:58Speaker 1: crowd working.
- 1:30:59Speaker 9: You can go sit and like yeah, and I mean
- 1:31:01Speaker 9: that stuff's super fun. I mean it's like I and
- 1:31:03Speaker 9: guys are really really great at Big Jay Orgerson's un
- 1:31:06Speaker 9: Big J's one of the funniest people I've ever met
- 1:31:08Speaker 9: in my entire life. And he's the best and he
- 1:31:11Speaker 9: does all like he does it and not and it,
- 1:31:13Speaker 9: it and it. But Big Jays can tell stories and
- 1:31:16Speaker 9: he's so great at stories and all this stuff. So
- 1:31:19Speaker 9: it's I always to people think I'm trying. I trashed
- 1:31:23Speaker 9: crowd work more than most people, but I'm I just
- 1:31:27Speaker 9: see with young girl, I just hope that some still
- 1:31:30Speaker 9: like That's why I was so great seeing Shane. And
- 1:31:33Speaker 9: like when I saw Shane for the first time, I
- 1:31:35Speaker 9: came he came to his zanies and I went down
- 1:31:37Speaker 9: and watched him before I really knew him, and but
- 1:31:39Speaker 9: I've heard about him. We've kind of like said what's up,
- 1:31:41Speaker 9: and I watched him and I was like, oh man,
- 1:31:44Speaker 9: this is crazy, dude, this is like and it was
- 1:31:46Speaker 9: and I've got very excited because it was like yeah, yeah, dude,
- 1:31:51Speaker 9: like this is this Dude's gonna be you know, obviously
- 1:31:54Speaker 9: he's super funny in this situation all that, but he
- 1:31:57Speaker 9: hasn't act and he goes up with it act and
- 1:32:00Speaker 9: goes out and destroys. I mean we saw him in
- 1:32:04Speaker 9: Charleston and it was like, dude, I mean, they stand
- 1:32:09Speaker 9: up and you could just get a stand oovation immediately
- 1:32:12Speaker 9: you saw. People are so excited to see him and
- 1:32:15Speaker 9: he's so fun and funny, and it just feels different
- 1:32:19Speaker 9: and it's like it doesn't feel serious, and I think
- 1:32:22Speaker 9: comedy's going that way back that way, which is a
- 1:32:24Speaker 9: good thing. Where it's comedy that's like being like, yeah, dude,
- 1:32:27Speaker 9: I'm not No one's trying to tell you what to
- 1:32:28Speaker 9: do or you know, Shane's not telling you how to vote,
- 1:32:31Speaker 9: He's not telling you how to do any of this stuff.
- 1:32:33Speaker 9: It's like just being funny and like anybody can watch it.
- 1:32:35Speaker 9: Anybody can like just you know, it's like I'm just
- 1:32:38Speaker 9: having fun, man, not everybody, not everybody. I had a
- 1:32:42Speaker 9: clothes boy dude, Yeah, he's the boy.
- 1:32:44Speaker 1: But we saw his stand up in Austin and shortly
- 1:32:47Speaker 1: after he him on the bus for the first time.
- 1:32:49Speaker 1: We really didn't know about Shane, like we knew he
- 1:32:51Speaker 1: got fired from SNEL. We know he's a comedian on
- 1:32:54Speaker 1: the up, and we're like, hey, we're excited to have him.
- 1:32:56Speaker 1: He crushed it on the podcast. He was so funny.
- 1:32:58Speaker 1: So then we took the time to like go watch
- 1:33:00Speaker 1: his YouTube special in Austin and it is like, I'm
- 1:33:03Speaker 1: by myself laughing my ass off. And so I go
- 1:33:07Speaker 1: to Arizona and see this family that I lived with,
- 1:33:10Speaker 1: and one day, like the dad is, you know, Fox
- 1:33:14Speaker 1: News dad, he's a Fox News dad and his bit
- 1:33:16Speaker 1: about Fox News dads. I was like, hey, you've got
- 1:33:19Speaker 1: to watch his stand up and I put it on
- 1:33:20Speaker 1: and in the first five minutes is him essentially making
- 1:33:24Speaker 1: fun of Fox News dads and like the Wall and
- 1:33:26Speaker 1: all that, and I'm laughing still. It's like the fourth
- 1:33:29Speaker 1: or fifth time I've watched it, and he doesn't laugh,
- 1:33:32Speaker 1: doesn't make a noise, and he just grabs the controller
- 1:33:34Speaker 1: and goes, let's watch something else, and then it turns
- 1:33:36Speaker 1: it off without taking a vote. From anybody else. I thought, man,
- 1:33:39Speaker 1: you got to open up, You got to open it
- 1:33:41Speaker 1: up a little bit.
- 1:33:42Speaker 9: Bro.
- 1:33:42Speaker 1: I've told him that a dozen times, like you've got
- 1:33:43Speaker 1: to rewatch it. But then I'll rewatch it, and then
- 1:33:45Speaker 1: I'll hear the Trump stuff and I'm like, hey, maybe
- 1:33:46Speaker 1: he shouldn't watch it, Maybe he shouldn't gay sit down
- 1:33:52Speaker 1: your gay bro. The military bit that he does with
- 1:33:56Speaker 1: the Taliban. When people get that you were with him
- 1:33:59Speaker 1: in Saney's weeks ago, right, y'all.
- 1:34:01Speaker 6: I bet the people at Zany's were so fired up
- 1:34:03Speaker 6: because he had hit us up.
- 1:34:04Speaker 1: It was after beer Olympics.
- 1:34:05Speaker 6: Yeah, he's like, hey after Yeah, the day after we're
- 1:34:08Speaker 6: recovering and he's like, hey, Nate and I are gonna
- 1:34:11Speaker 6: we're gonna go on a Zanies at like nine thirty
- 1:34:13Speaker 6: or ten thirty or something like that.
- 1:34:14Speaker 9: I was like, oh, man, Like I'm like, y'all had
- 1:34:17Speaker 9: a pretty big day.
- 1:34:18Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:34:18Speaker 6: Yeah, Like I was fucking hurt, bro. He was bruised up.
- 1:34:21Speaker 6: Probably Prime telling you about.
- 1:34:23Speaker 1: He kept showing us, He kept showing us his body.
- 1:34:26Speaker 1: That's more on him, though, But I saw him because
- 1:34:28Speaker 1: you tackled in the photo.
- 1:34:31Speaker 9: Yeah, and like you're it's like y'all just don't like realize,
- 1:34:35Speaker 9: like because Shane's big too, but he's not like strong
- 1:34:38Speaker 9: like y'all, and so I feel like he gets beat.
- 1:34:41Speaker 9: It's like a big dog, Like it's a dog that
- 1:34:43Speaker 9: you're like that tries to play with them and then
- 1:34:45Speaker 9: you're like, well, just I don't know if i'd play
- 1:34:47Speaker 9: with hecase, don't go, don't go full on.
- 1:34:49Speaker 1: You don't have to laboratory retreat.
- 1:34:51Speaker 6: Yeah, show on Instagram man just being on top of
- 1:34:54Speaker 6: Shane and fucking.
- 1:34:55Speaker 1: Because it's started off. If him, like you know, he
- 1:34:58Speaker 1: gets there, he seems very unenthusiastic to be there. He's like,
- 1:35:02Speaker 1: we're gonna get buried. Whatever it is, what it is
- 1:35:05Speaker 1: he gets, he does one chug like the first event
- 1:35:07Speaker 1: was was a chug, and then after that anytime he
- 1:35:10Speaker 1: lost an event, he be behind me and will just
- 1:35:12Speaker 1: talking shit like you guys are bad hosts. You guys
- 1:35:14Speaker 1: are nasty quick being that they're all laughing at you.
- 1:35:16Speaker 1: I'm gonna remind you they're all laughing at you when
- 1:35:18Speaker 1: you chug it. I go in one of my one
- 1:35:20Speaker 1: of the rooms and he's there talking shit, sitting on
- 1:35:22Speaker 1: a chair and he's like, you dude, you're a pussy dude.
- 1:35:24Speaker 1: I'll beat your ass right now. So I start wrestling him,
- 1:35:26Speaker 1: and the whole rest of the day like turned into that.
- 1:35:29Speaker 1: And then he's talking about all the bruises. It's like,
- 1:35:30Speaker 1: but you gotta get out in the sun if you
- 1:35:32Speaker 1: don't want a bruise like that, Like he literally has
- 1:35:34Speaker 1: michelin Man type of skin. Is that what you have
- 1:35:37Speaker 1: to do? I mean, I feel you got to weather
- 1:35:38Speaker 1: it up a little bit, right, Is that what you
- 1:35:40Speaker 1: have to do? I think I do? Well, you say
- 1:35:43Speaker 1: older dudes. You see older dudes, You're like, what does
- 1:35:45Speaker 1: their skin look like?
- 1:35:45Speaker 4: Leather?
- 1:35:46Speaker 1: Yeah, Leather's tough, it's durable, it's reliable. It's like the
- 1:35:49Speaker 1: Chevy Silverado. If you don't ever go out in the
- 1:35:51Speaker 1: sun like one little hey, how you doing a little
- 1:35:53Speaker 1: slap on the lake, there's gonna be a welt there.
- 1:35:55Speaker 1: Luckily Will got some nice thighs and he's got a
- 1:35:57Speaker 1: little sun tent on there. Shane just welted up.
- 1:36:01Speaker 9: Easily told him like that. I've never heard anything like that.
- 1:36:05Speaker 9: It's it's like, well, you know, bruises get on the
- 1:36:08Speaker 9: sun right there?
- 1:36:09Speaker 1: Just jumping this cit a little bit and then bruised.
- 1:36:13Speaker 1: You just make that up. Did essentially make that out,
- 1:36:17Speaker 1: But it gotta makes sense when you really think about it. Yeah,
- 1:36:20Speaker 1: I guess it does. Chandler on me, dude, Michael Chandler.
- 1:36:24Speaker 1: I mean, he could stand up on this bus, no problem.
- 1:36:27Speaker 1: I have plenty of room, little or guy. But he
- 1:36:30Speaker 1: wrestled me in the pool and I almost drowned about
- 1:36:32Speaker 1: six times. And the rest of the day it was
- 1:36:34Speaker 1: like he was being Yeah he's a little bit. It
- 1:36:37Speaker 1: was his right hand man, it was his guard. Yeah,
- 1:36:40Speaker 1: so strong. Oh, dude, Chandler is just and the best,
- 1:36:44Speaker 1: the nicest guy. You're way too nice to be in
- 1:36:47Speaker 1: the octagon like that. Yeah, I know. Yeah, he's a
- 1:36:51Speaker 1: wild thoughts. Yeah, but he like enjoys it. We were
- 1:36:54Speaker 1: at his, uh, his house for Labor Day weekend last year.
- 1:36:58Speaker 1: His pool is like four feet yeah, and it's the
- 1:37:01Speaker 1: late night. Everyone's been drinking a little bit and I
- 1:37:03Speaker 1: see somebody something dive into the pool, but their feet
- 1:37:06Speaker 1: don't go in the water. So he essentially dove in
- 1:37:08Speaker 1: the pool and hits his face and comes up and
- 1:37:11Speaker 1: I'm in the middle of the conversation with somebody. I
- 1:37:13Speaker 1: look back, I'm Hey, Mike, did you just hit your
- 1:37:15Speaker 1: face on the floor of the pool. And he's like no, no,
- 1:37:18Speaker 1: He's like laughing, just having a good time, and then
- 1:37:21Speaker 1: all of a sudden, his face just starts bleeding everywhere. Oh,
- 1:37:24Speaker 1: and I'm like, you gotta go wipe your faces, like,
- 1:37:25Speaker 1: don't tell my wife, don't tell my wife. And I
- 1:37:27Speaker 1: was like, she's gonna fine. Look at you, she's gonna fin.
- 1:37:29Speaker 1: You look like you just got done with a fight.
- 1:37:31Speaker 1: From forehead to chin the road rash. And he's like
- 1:37:35Speaker 1: helped me out of the pool. So I literally grab
- 1:37:36Speaker 1: him by his hips, like right like here, and I
- 1:37:39Speaker 1: just remember thinking he's just a fucking dense ball of muscle.
- 1:37:42Speaker 1: That's all this fucking dude is. He's just so goddamn strong. Yeah,
- 1:37:46Speaker 1: he's so strong. Yeah, and then he takes my big
- 1:37:49Speaker 1: ass and throws me around the pool like a child.
- 1:37:51Speaker 1: I was humbled. It was a humbling experience for me.
- 1:37:54Speaker 9: That would be That would be the people always wondered,
- 1:37:56Speaker 9: like a fight would be, like you and him would
- 1:38:00Speaker 9: eyes even anything out?
- 1:38:03Speaker 1: But if I had any training, I'm sure there'd be
- 1:38:05Speaker 1: more of an even fight. Yeah, but no training, right me? Yeah, No,
- 1:38:09Speaker 1: I'm getting bank. Yeah, he's gonna absolutely take me. I've
- 1:38:12Speaker 1: wrestled him and spinning backfish. Yeah, we were in the
- 1:38:16Speaker 1: Oxgon one time. I did sneak him with a spinning backfist.
- 1:38:18Speaker 1: Luckily for him, I stopped, Yeah, because my I the awareness,
- 1:38:21Speaker 1: but that would have probably taken him out. I would
- 1:38:23Speaker 1: take him out, but he's got he takes me to
- 1:38:25Speaker 1: the ground. It's over and he's gonna get to These
- 1:38:27Speaker 1: legs be not an issue at all. He's excited about it. No, Yeah,
- 1:38:31Speaker 1: he sees these little sticks and he's like, I'm gonna
- 1:38:33Speaker 1: take advantage for sure. Yeah.
- 1:38:35Speaker 6: But the whole whoever was at Zany's, I mean that
- 1:38:38Speaker 6: was a surprise, right.
- 1:38:39Speaker 1: Yeah, so we did.
- 1:38:41Speaker 9: We were hanging out because I knew he came down
- 1:38:43Speaker 9: because I talked to Shane quite a bit, like Shane's going,
- 1:38:46Speaker 9: uh not that I just like talking to him because
- 1:38:48Speaker 9: he's I mean he's I think he's very funny and
- 1:38:51Speaker 9: then like he's just where he's at in his career
- 1:38:53Speaker 9: and it's starting to like really, I think after this
- 1:38:55Speaker 9: next fishal I mean, Shane's going to really be uh
- 1:38:59Speaker 9: one of the top touring act. I mean he already
- 1:39:01Speaker 9: is a very top touring act. He's gonna be one
- 1:39:03Speaker 9: of the top and so he's a good dude and
- 1:39:06Speaker 9: just uh so we were just in town. So we
- 1:39:08Speaker 9: were hanging out just that day and then I was
- 1:39:11Speaker 9: like I kind of was I've been kind of wanting
- 1:39:12Speaker 9: to go up, uh, and then I was like do
- 1:39:15Speaker 9: you want to go up? And then He's like yeah,
- 1:39:17Speaker 9: So we were like, let's just see and then so
- 1:39:19Speaker 9: we you know, it was I won the people I
- 1:39:22Speaker 9: don't think expected me and Shane to do. And then
- 1:39:25Speaker 9: so we just called Zanies and they were like yeah,
- 1:39:27Speaker 9: and they put on selling and sold out immediately, which
- 1:39:29Speaker 9: we both you never get used to that. You're both
- 1:39:31Speaker 9: like in your head like is this gonna sell it?
- 1:39:33Speaker 9: Like you think, like.
- 1:39:35Speaker 1: There's no way. He thought. That's what you have a moment, dude.
- 1:39:37Speaker 9: You just you know, when you put yourself out there
- 1:39:39Speaker 9: a little bit and you're like, what if it doesn't.
- 1:39:42Speaker 1: Like imposter syndrome, yeah, like yeah, and you.
- 1:39:44Speaker 9: Think like you're like, all right, me and Shane gonna
- 1:39:46Speaker 9: do a show and then everybody's like we're good. I
- 1:39:49Speaker 9: mean because it was in let me make a call
- 1:39:51Speaker 9: at like four thirty and the show's at nine or
- 1:39:53Speaker 9: nine thirty. How quickly did it sell out? I think
- 1:39:56Speaker 9: in fift in like ten minutes or it was like
- 1:39:57Speaker 9: it was like.
- 1:39:58Speaker 1: Oh, if you're going out the yeah, well you're in Nashville.
- 1:40:01Speaker 6: You have to catch that. You're fired the fuck up
- 1:40:03Speaker 6: getting to watch Shane and you.
- 1:40:04Speaker 9: It was I want to do it again because it's
- 1:40:06Speaker 9: like the people that I, uh, we went in there.
- 1:40:09Speaker 9: Actually we had did some work I needed to. I
- 1:40:11Speaker 9: needed to like kind of run my hour and like
- 1:40:13Speaker 9: pull something. I needed to figure out some time stuff
- 1:40:16Speaker 9: with my hour, and then Shane just went up there.
- 1:40:18Speaker 9: And but we went up there together at the end.
- 1:40:20Speaker 9: And that's what I think people like the most is
- 1:40:22Speaker 9: just me and him on stage hanging out and talking.
- 1:40:25Speaker 9: And so I mean, I we talked about we want
- 1:40:28Speaker 9: to do it again, like it was because we both
- 1:40:30Speaker 9: really enjoyed it, and uh, I really like him, and
- 1:40:34Speaker 9: uh he's a and he's a great I mean, he's
- 1:40:35Speaker 9: a truly great, great comment.
- 1:40:37Speaker 1: Possibility you guys tour together now. I mean, the only
- 1:40:40Speaker 1: thing I'm clean.
- 1:40:41Speaker 9: So it's like I couldn't the audience that comes to
- 1:40:44Speaker 9: see me, even though a lot of people that would
- 1:40:45Speaker 9: see me love Shane but I wouldn't. I mean, I
- 1:40:47Speaker 9: my kids can come to my show, like it's all ages,
- 1:40:50Speaker 9: so it's I wouldn't want to put that much, you know,
- 1:40:53Speaker 9: like someone if that's our part of being clean, you
- 1:40:55Speaker 9: kind of on your own. And the fact that like
- 1:40:58Speaker 9: there's only so many I mean them bring out with me,
- 1:41:01Speaker 9: not that they're all they're not all clean outside of me,
- 1:41:04Speaker 9: but they have to be clean when they come to
- 1:41:06Speaker 9: my shows. So h outside of that, it's it's like
- 1:41:10Speaker 9: kind of hard to be like because it's like my
- 1:41:12Speaker 9: crowds are I just can't. I just really can't do it.
- 1:41:16Speaker 9: But so it's like that's why a situation like that
- 1:41:18Speaker 9: where we just like kind of pop on last minute
- 1:41:21Speaker 9: is because then you know, I think it's people that
- 1:41:23Speaker 9: are comedy fans and right, they.
- 1:41:26Speaker 1: Completely understand that this is like an anomaly.
- 1:41:28Speaker 9: Of Nate and shit, it's like coming out there, it's
- 1:41:29Speaker 9: not like there's versus like you know, I might have
- 1:41:32Speaker 9: an entire my real show, like there's be an entire family.
- 1:41:35Speaker 9: Come is, bring your grandparents, the grandchildren. You're not going
- 1:41:38Speaker 9: to be like they're ready for Shane, and I think
- 1:41:40Speaker 9: they think we'll find Shane very funny. But they also
- 1:41:43Speaker 9: might be like, we didn't expect to hear all those words.
- 1:41:46Speaker 1: I mean, dude, we had that situation this past weekend.
- 1:41:52Speaker 1: The last atter read of the day and that is
- 1:41:55Speaker 1: Duke can and we like to talk to you about
- 1:41:56Speaker 1: your shower game for a minute. Here's the fact the
- 1:41:58Speaker 1: bodywater you're using right now is weak, water down and
- 1:42:01Speaker 1: probably smells like a JV locker room. Simply put, it's
- 1:42:03Speaker 1: just not getting the fucking job done. The boys need
- 1:42:06Speaker 1: a shower with substance after a hard day's work, and
- 1:42:08Speaker 1: that's why we use thick, high viscosity body wash from
- 1:42:11Speaker 1: Duke Cannon. Thicker is better. Don't let them lie to you.
- 1:42:15Speaker 1: Thicker is better. Duke cannonstick body wash is built to
- 1:42:18Speaker 1: work hard, not spew down the shower drain. All the
- 1:42:21Speaker 1: sense are amazing, but my personal favorite is Midnight Swim.
- 1:42:24Speaker 1: It smells like a canniball dipped into a moonlit lake,
- 1:42:26Speaker 1: not a dip into the hot tub at a starlit motel.
- 1:42:29Speaker 1: As always, I do like the uh the dry ice.
- 1:42:32Speaker 1: That's good. It's just especially in these hot summer days, man,
- 1:42:35Speaker 1: it really keeps you cool in the right times. Also,
- 1:42:37Speaker 1: they have a little little rub on cologne. They just
- 1:42:39Speaker 1: dab on the neck right there. Put that on your wrist.
- 1:42:41Speaker 1: You're gonna smell great all day. It lasts way longer
- 1:42:43Speaker 1: than the actual sprintzes and sprays. You have to try
- 1:42:46Speaker 1: to do cannifs. So for a limited time, we're hooking
- 1:42:47Speaker 1: the Boys up with twenty percent off your first order
- 1:42:49Speaker 1: at Duke Cannon dot com with Code the Boys twenty.
- 1:42:53Speaker 1: That's twenty percent off when you use Code the Boys
- 1:42:55Speaker 1: twenty at Duke Cannon dot com. Duke Cannon, Work Harder,
- 1:42:58Speaker 1: Smell Better. Oh that said, back to this episode with
- 1:43:02Speaker 1: what at Kittlefest and Laser? Yeah, you know who Uncle
- 1:43:06Speaker 1: Laser is. I think I've heard his name. He's he's
- 1:43:09Speaker 1: a comedian out of Austin, Texa. He's yeah, he's hilarious.
- 1:43:13Speaker 1: And I went and saw him at Zany's a few
- 1:43:15Speaker 1: weeks ago and it's all, you know, pussy eating ass.
- 1:43:19Speaker 1: It's as dirty as a get. Mom jokes young gun
- 1:43:23Speaker 1: like yeah, yeah, exactly. So Kittle meets Laser at Beer
- 1:43:27Speaker 1: Olympics and reaches out the Lasers like, Hey, I have
- 1:43:30Speaker 1: kittle Fest coming up, would you like to come to
- 1:43:32Speaker 1: it and do some stand up like ten minutes and
- 1:43:34Speaker 1: Laser's like, absolutely, I'll go. And so once I caught
- 1:43:36Speaker 1: wind of this, I caught wind of it at the party,
- 1:43:38Speaker 1: and I have seen his stand up and it's you know,
- 1:43:41Speaker 1: me and Will are there, A bunch of our friends
- 1:43:43Speaker 1: are there, but there's also his aunts, his uncles, his grandparents,
- 1:43:47Speaker 1: Like there's an older crowd as well, buttoned up wearing
- 1:43:50Speaker 1: their Sunday best type of stuff at a frat party. Essentially,
- 1:43:53Speaker 1: I told him, I was like, brother, have you heard
- 1:43:55Speaker 1: Laser's stand up? He's like, no, Yo, all right, okay,
- 1:43:58Speaker 1: and he's the first person to go up and dude,
- 1:44:00Speaker 1: it was probably the most mixed review thing I've ever
- 1:44:03Speaker 1: watched in my life because there's like me.
- 1:44:05Speaker 6: And Will are like probably standing there like smiling doing this.
- 1:44:08Speaker 1: So I mean, it's funny.
- 1:44:10Speaker 6: Spur a crowd that you know RiPPs Marlboros and wears Nascar,
- 1:44:12Speaker 6: you know what I mean.
- 1:44:13Speaker 9: Like it's you're not scared of hearing the language, but
- 1:44:15Speaker 9: then some people are can be surprised at how dirty
- 1:44:18Speaker 9: something can actually get.
- 1:44:19Speaker 1: Yeah, brings out us Harmonica that talks about one's the
- 1:44:22Speaker 1: pussy and one's the ass, and that's how he learned
- 1:44:24Speaker 1: to eat out chicks. And I'm just looking at the
- 1:44:25Speaker 1: grandma and she's like yeah, she's looking like leans over
- 1:44:28Speaker 1: her husband, like did he's got.
- 1:44:30Speaker 6: The harmonica playing that it gets him out of that?
- 1:44:32Speaker 6: Can just get you out of harmonica?
- 1:44:35Speaker 1: All right. It was so funny because he didn't hold back,
- 1:44:37Speaker 1: he didn't look at the crowd and go, I should
- 1:44:39Speaker 1: probably tighten a couple of things up. He went futtle
- 1:44:41Speaker 1: bored right into it, no doubt that.
- 1:44:42Speaker 6: I fully believe his eyes glazed over and he knew
- 1:44:46Speaker 6: the situation he was in.
- 1:44:47Speaker 1: He's like, I just gotta fucking get through this. Yeah,
- 1:44:50Speaker 1: gotta run.
- 1:44:51Speaker 9: Yeah, some of you get you're like, it is what
- 1:44:53Speaker 9: you do. So it's like just go do what you
- 1:44:56Speaker 9: do and then you know they get their laugh.
- 1:44:58Speaker 1: Or they won't. Well, was a choice for you to
- 1:45:00Speaker 1: go clean.
- 1:45:02Speaker 9: I just started that way, like uh, it was just
- 1:45:05Speaker 9: how you know, grows up the South Southern Christian like, well,
- 1:45:08Speaker 9: I wasn't allowed to watch anything that stuff like that,
- 1:45:11Speaker 9: and so my teen yeah we saw.
- 1:45:15Speaker 1: That we were watching some of your bits before that
- 1:45:17Speaker 1: ship was hilarious. Yeah, yeah it wasn't.
- 1:45:19Speaker 9: I mean I wasn't allowed to watch and there's so
- 1:45:21Speaker 9: many movies I've missed because I just was never allowed
- 1:45:23Speaker 9: to watch them and never watched soft Yeah, and I
- 1:45:26Speaker 9: still I know, Uh, I never watched it.
- 1:45:29Speaker 5: Uh.
- 1:45:29Speaker 9: When we weren't allowed to watch Simpsons, that was a
- 1:45:32Speaker 9: big deal. When I was young, Simpsons came out. It
- 1:45:34Speaker 9: was like because Bart was like against authority, Like it's
- 1:45:38Speaker 9: like a lot of parents didn't like that.
- 1:45:39Speaker 1: He was like this kid, did your dad watch the Simpsons? No? No, No,
- 1:45:44Speaker 1: one's like Sunday night football is over, Simpsons, come on. Yeah. No.
- 1:45:48Speaker 9: It was Yeah, it was just very I mean I
- 1:45:50Speaker 9: I just when I grew up, it was just a lot.
- 1:45:52Speaker 9: It was just different. It was the South was pretty
- 1:45:54Speaker 9: strict and like what you could do. I mean you
- 1:45:57Speaker 9: couldn't dance or I went to donaldsal Christian Academy that
- 1:46:01Speaker 9: they did.
- 1:46:02Speaker 1: We didn't have a prom.
- 1:46:02Speaker 9: We had a like a banquet, and then you couldn't
- 1:46:05Speaker 9: dance because it was like dancing was not and it
- 1:46:07Speaker 9: wasn't like the parents don't believe dancing is bad. They
- 1:46:10Speaker 9: believe dancing is bad. But it's like you just would
- 1:46:12Speaker 9: have you know back then, I mean an eighty year
- 1:46:15Speaker 9: old in nineteen ninety seven that she thinks dancing is bad,
- 1:46:20Speaker 9: so you're kind of like not doing it to be
- 1:46:22Speaker 9: like kind of you.
- 1:46:23Speaker 1: Can get a little space, leave some room for the lord. Yeah,
- 1:46:26Speaker 1: you just go, well we would, we could, you could go.
- 1:46:28Speaker 9: The parents would then rent, they would rent out of room,
- 1:46:31Speaker 9: and then everybody could have like a more of a
- 1:46:33Speaker 9: prom dance kind of after you would do a banquet,
- 1:46:36Speaker 9: like it's kind of a proper thing for like, you know,
- 1:46:38Speaker 9: those older people to be like we're not you know,
- 1:46:41Speaker 9: and then you go do the dance thing after it
- 1:46:44Speaker 9: was you know. So it's like I grew up. You
- 1:46:46Speaker 9: just grew up in under those like, uh standards. So
- 1:46:49Speaker 9: it's like I just started. I just started clean and
- 1:46:51Speaker 9: then uh, I was always clean, and then you know,
- 1:46:54Speaker 9: once you start, it's like kind of just the only
- 1:46:56Speaker 9: way I go.
- 1:46:57Speaker 1: Now, did you've had a glow up about you?
- 1:46:59Speaker 6: I remember seeing you Nascar and you had that your
- 1:47:01Speaker 6: haircuts not that way, but you were laced up with
- 1:47:03Speaker 6: a skin fade.
- 1:47:04Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:47:04Speaker 6: Compared the years past, I mean your stand up a
- 1:47:07Speaker 6: couple of years ago, the way you were a couple
- 1:47:09Speaker 6: of years ago, You've aged very well. Your skin I've
- 1:47:11Speaker 6: noticed the entire time is phenomenal. But you're like you
- 1:47:14Speaker 6: were like one of the dads where you show up
- 1:47:16Speaker 6: at the barbecue and you're like, oh, I hey, Nates here,
- 1:47:17Speaker 6: this will be a fun time. Now it's like you
- 1:47:19Speaker 6: show up at the barbecue. I hate Nates here. He's
- 1:47:21Speaker 6: you guys, he's pretty fucking big takeing. I'm going no bread?
- 1:47:24Speaker 1: Yeah, what's what's the glow up? Like, I'm not fun.
- 1:47:26Speaker 1: I brought my own food.
- 1:47:27Speaker 6: Dor Yeah, you know you don't talk to anymore?
- 1:47:31Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 1:47:31Speaker 9: Yeah, yeah, it's been I mean the whole you know,
- 1:47:35Speaker 9: my whole run.
- 1:47:38Speaker 1: I'm forty four, so, uh.
- 1:47:40Speaker 9: I quit drinking in twenty nineteen, and uh A big
- 1:47:44Speaker 9: part of that was like I was just getting I
- 1:47:47Speaker 9: knew I was like starting to go to the theaters
- 1:47:49Speaker 9: and all this stuff. I knew if I wanted to
- 1:47:50Speaker 9: get where I wanted to go, I couldn't drink. Like
- 1:47:53Speaker 9: I wasn't able to when I drank. It's like it's
- 1:47:55Speaker 9: not like I just drank at home or did all
- 1:47:57Speaker 9: these things. Some people can drink and they might think
- 1:48:00Speaker 9: you don't have a problem because you're not, like your
- 1:48:02Speaker 9: ago a week without drinking, But it's like I didn't
- 1:48:04Speaker 9: when I started I didn't know how to stop and
- 1:48:06Speaker 9: like all that stuff, and so I knew when I'd
- 1:48:08Speaker 9: go on the road. It's like I start Thursday night
- 1:48:10Speaker 9: would be a fun night out at a club, but
- 1:48:12Speaker 9: then you drink that night and then you're just hun
- 1:48:14Speaker 9: over the rest of the weekend. So then you then
- 1:48:16Speaker 9: then you're just trying to get through the shows because
- 1:48:18Speaker 9: you don't feel great. And so I was like, if
- 1:48:20Speaker 9: I need if I want to produce the material that
- 1:48:22Speaker 9: I want to produce and tour and all that, I needed.
- 1:48:26Speaker 1: To stop that.
- 1:48:27Speaker 9: So that was that was the when the first one
- 1:48:29Speaker 9: happened because I just stopped drinking and some I mean
- 1:48:32Speaker 9: just literally drinking will just help a lot of things.
- 1:48:36Speaker 9: I still don't eat great, and I'm trying now that's
- 1:48:39Speaker 9: the second one I'm trying to overcome because it's like
- 1:48:41Speaker 9: being on the road again. It's like hard on your body.
- 1:48:44Speaker 9: You kind of got to treat it like not an at,
- 1:48:46Speaker 9: like not a full athlete, but as both y'all like,
- 1:48:49Speaker 9: but it's like half of it at you have to
- 1:48:52Speaker 9: somewhat be so mentally you can handle all the things
- 1:48:56Speaker 9: that you have to go do and so you can
- 1:48:58Speaker 9: be in good moods and uh and be fun and
- 1:49:00Speaker 9: then not be like just on edge all the time
- 1:49:03Speaker 9: and all this. So I'm trying to work on that
- 1:49:06Speaker 9: as well. But yeah, man, we had a good time.
- 1:49:09Speaker 9: I mean the whole beginning of it. Yeah, there's a
- 1:49:11Speaker 9: lot of drinking. I mean, me and Hannibal said we
- 1:49:14Speaker 9: because uh, I don't think he drinks anymore. I don't
- 1:49:16Speaker 9: know if he does now or not, but he didn't
- 1:49:18Speaker 9: a few years ago and we were talking about a
- 1:49:20Speaker 9: Hannibal said something that always stuck with me. He was like,
- 1:49:23Speaker 9: you know, he goes, I look at it. He's like,
- 1:49:24Speaker 9: we put up some good numbers because we did good.
- 1:49:27Speaker 9: Because a lot of times you get drinking, everybody thinks like, wow,
- 1:49:29Speaker 9: you're not being fun.
- 1:49:30Speaker 1: You're like, no, I did all I did what you're
- 1:49:32Speaker 1: doing right now, I did.
- 1:49:33Speaker 9: I already did all this, and you just weren't. You
- 1:49:35Speaker 9: were not old enough to be there. But yeah, you're like,
- 1:49:37Speaker 9: I already went and did all this and it was
- 1:49:39Speaker 9: a fun time and I had a great bad And
- 1:49:41Speaker 9: then there's an you just hit a point where you
- 1:49:43Speaker 9: get older and you're like about forty, start going like
- 1:49:46Speaker 9: all right, You're like, I mean, just stuff starts hurting
- 1:49:49Speaker 9: like you just You're like I can't wake up and
- 1:49:51Speaker 9: feel like this every day, Like this is brutal.
- 1:49:53Speaker 1: It's a brutal feeling that fog. That fog is terrible.
- 1:49:56Speaker 1: But it's the most fun in during it, for sure.
- 1:49:59Speaker 1: It is the was fun.
- 1:50:00Speaker 9: I mean the Senior's Beer Olympics like that looked like
- 1:50:03Speaker 9: it's the It's a wonderful, wonderful time.
- 1:50:06Speaker 1: It was awesome. It was so much awesome. Man.
- 1:50:09Speaker 6: You ever want to come out of retirement for a day, Yeah,
- 1:50:11Speaker 6: I know, I'm more than welcome. Yeah.
- 1:50:13Speaker 9: There's always moments where you're like, you know, I hung
- 1:50:16Speaker 9: out this weekend that I feel like I could get you.
- 1:50:18Speaker 9: Uh not to his football because I did the American
- 1:50:21Speaker 9: Century Championship. John Elway. John, we're meeting John Alway, who's
- 1:50:26Speaker 9: back on Alway is a good time.
- 1:50:28Speaker 1: Oh yeah.
- 1:50:28Speaker 9: And I was telling Dance Owder is a giant uh
- 1:50:31Speaker 9: John Alway fan.
- 1:50:32Speaker 1: Just he's from Denver.
- 1:50:33Speaker 9: And I was like telling Dan, I was like, John
- 1:50:35Speaker 9: Elway could make you quit drinking, come out of retirement drink.
- 1:50:38Speaker 9: Dan doesn't drink either, and uh because he's like just
- 1:50:42Speaker 9: like a good like you're like this dude's the most
- 1:50:44Speaker 9: fun and you don't think have you met him?
- 1:50:47Speaker 1: No, I've never met John, but I hear a bunch
- 1:50:49Speaker 1: of stories.
- 1:50:50Speaker 9: You don't stories like you think he's gonna be His
- 1:50:53Speaker 9: son is awesome to His son's a big Shane Gills fan. Uh,
- 1:50:57Speaker 9: his son's great, big comedy fan Roy, big Fanny you got.
- 1:51:00Speaker 9: I was like, does Shane know that his sons a
- 1:51:02Speaker 9: big Shane Gillis family. I think so, I don't know,
- 1:51:04Speaker 9: you know, yeah, Shane nuts over football players and you know,
- 1:51:10Speaker 9: but he was like someone that you're like, you know,
- 1:51:12Speaker 9: this dude's the bad I mean, you just think he's
- 1:51:15Speaker 9: gonna be stowing like this.
- 1:51:16Speaker 1: I don't know.
- 1:51:16Speaker 9: It's John Elway, so you just you just think he's
- 1:51:19Speaker 9: going to be like you'll meet him. Was like, how
- 1:51:21Speaker 9: you doing this? And you're like, this guy is a
- 1:51:25Speaker 9: good time man, just like what a lot of charisma,
- 1:51:27Speaker 9: A lot of charisma, like laughs, a lot you say anything,
- 1:51:31Speaker 9: he's laugh at it. Fun Like you just feel like
- 1:51:33Speaker 9: you're gonna just be with him. And he'd be like
- 1:51:35Speaker 9: You're like yeah, he's like they take the boat out
- 1:51:37Speaker 9: and you're I didn't go on the boat, but he's
- 1:51:39Speaker 9: like you just he's talking about it, like, oh, the
- 1:51:40Speaker 9: boat showed me the boat boat. I think I could
- 1:51:44Speaker 9: have gone out on this boat. But it was just
- 1:51:47Speaker 9: like it was just like a very surprising meeting someone
- 1:51:49Speaker 9: that you're like, oh, dude, you're not what I thought.
- 1:51:53Speaker 9: Like you realize Peyton maning going to Denver, You're like, yeah, dude,
- 1:51:57Speaker 9: Like yeah, yeah, put anybody in the.
- 1:51:59Speaker 1: Room with John.
- 1:52:00Speaker 9: Didn't John Elway You're gonna be like, yeah, I'll go, dude,
- 1:52:03Speaker 9: you're the best.
- 1:52:04Speaker 1: That's fucking cool. Man. Who else? Like, who else have
- 1:52:08Speaker 1: you met? This been? Like, oh dude, you are fucking
- 1:52:10Speaker 1: because that is the best feeling. Like we talked about
- 1:52:13Speaker 1: the people you meet and you're like, man, don't meet
- 1:52:14Speaker 1: your heroes, but the people you meet and they're either
- 1:52:16Speaker 1: exactly like you thought they would be or even better,
- 1:52:18Speaker 1: Like you're saying, yeah, that's the best feeling.
- 1:52:20Speaker 9: A lot of like Cable guys like that, Larry Cable guy,
- 1:52:24Speaker 9: Larry's awesome, bro.
- 1:52:25Speaker 1: Yeah, I would have loved to join you in that enthusiasm.
- 1:52:29Speaker 1: He's obviously a massive Nebraska fan.
- 1:52:32Speaker 6: So when we had our one of our tailgates last
- 1:52:34Speaker 6: year at Nebraska, well, he came on the uh we
- 1:52:37Speaker 6: had the podcast out there at Nebraska and he's just
- 1:52:40Speaker 6: the nicest fucking dude.
- 1:52:41Speaker 1: Man.
- 1:52:41Speaker 6: He's just so funny, just salt of the earth, exactly
- 1:52:44Speaker 6: like what you kind of see on camera and even
- 1:52:47Speaker 6: better just like you're hanging out with him.
- 1:52:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:52:49Speaker 9: That that's the part that you want, is like when
- 1:52:52Speaker 9: you can see when you meet someone and they're like
- 1:52:55Speaker 9: super nice and they're just it seems like they're like
- 1:52:58Speaker 9: a girl. I met Devonte Adams this week and he
- 1:53:00Speaker 9: was awesome. He was like kind of a funny dude,
- 1:53:03Speaker 9: like uh and just like kind of quiet, and but
- 1:53:07Speaker 9: just my experience with him was very nice to talk
- 1:53:10Speaker 9: to and like it was just super fun. Vrabel was there.
- 1:53:14Speaker 9: I meant rave Rabel is a good time. Yeah, you
- 1:53:16Speaker 9: see why you want to Yeah, you can see why
- 1:53:18Speaker 9: you want to play for like you get it. Like
- 1:53:21Speaker 9: that's what's interesting is like when you when you go, oh,
- 1:53:24Speaker 9: this is why people like like you and one of
- 1:53:26Speaker 9: like because you're like you're you're he just feels like
- 1:53:29Speaker 9: he'd be one of he'd be you, Like he'd be
- 1:53:32Speaker 9: like if you played for him, you'd be like he's
- 1:53:34Speaker 9: just you.
- 1:53:34Speaker 1: And there's a totally different dynamic though when you're his
- 1:53:36Speaker 1: player like him. Now, Yeah, I thought this is great.
- 1:53:40Speaker 1: Like we had him on the podcast very recently. He
- 1:53:42Speaker 1: came on yesterday. I know, but I'm trying to play
- 1:53:44Speaker 1: because this this comes out or whatever. Yeah, on yesterday
- 1:53:49Speaker 1: and the three of us have a group chat, Me
- 1:53:52Speaker 1: and Will and Braves and it's our podcast. Was every
- 1:53:55Speaker 1: bit of that group chat, Like it can be awkward
- 1:53:57Speaker 1: at times, it's funny at times. He gets serious. You
- 1:54:00Speaker 1: just don't he like Rabel's a guy that dictates how
- 1:54:03Speaker 1: the conversation is going to go, especially when you're the player. Yeah,
- 1:54:06Speaker 1: in the first year, we said twenty eighteen, he's got.
- 1:54:08Speaker 6: That alpha energy and you could just tell, like the
- 1:54:10Speaker 6: dynamic even on him on yesterday, you just you know,
- 1:54:13Speaker 6: there's still those nerves of like, you know, is.
- 1:54:15Speaker 1: He Yeah, we're growing mad at this. Yeah. Will's turning
- 1:54:17Speaker 1: thirty thirty three this year, right, Yeah, I literally turned
- 1:54:20Speaker 1: thirty two in less than a week. Yeah, and we're
- 1:54:23Speaker 1: there's literally nerves where I'm being around the other man like, hey, yeah,
- 1:54:26Speaker 1: but he can't hurt us anymore, can't. There's nothing he
- 1:54:28Speaker 1: can do.
- 1:54:29Speaker 6: We started joking about fighting that I really thought is
- 1:54:31Speaker 6: he does, he's legit for the second yeah, h no,
- 1:54:34Speaker 6: but he is like a good time.
- 1:54:36Speaker 1: Rabel has got to be the best time. Yeah, he's
- 1:54:38Speaker 1: a guy that dynamic, you know.
- 1:54:40Speaker 9: I but I've always liked the New York comedy had
- 1:54:43Speaker 9: a dynamic like that. Like you always like the people
- 1:54:45Speaker 9: that started that were the bigger comics above you, and
- 1:54:49Speaker 9: not even necessarily like fame wise, but just the you know,
- 1:54:54Speaker 9: there's guys that started before you. There's always a there's
- 1:54:57Speaker 9: always like a respect that you're like, you know, like
- 1:55:00Speaker 9: you just the older guys. I remember Robert Bobby Kelly
- 1:55:03Speaker 9: who does uh Poka, who does a bonfire now with
- 1:55:06Speaker 9: Big Jay. Bobby's like so funny and uh but Bobby's
- 1:55:10Speaker 9: like a guy that like I feel like Bobby told
- 1:55:12Speaker 9: me to go do something, I would just have to
- 1:55:13Speaker 9: go do it because he was He's you know, he
- 1:55:16Speaker 9: just looked up to him so much. He started out
- 1:55:19Speaker 9: open for him a lot and did this stuff. So
- 1:55:21Speaker 9: like the I've always liked that like kind of like
- 1:55:24Speaker 9: in stuff. I think it's a good thing. Yeah, they're
- 1:55:26Speaker 9: like a like.
- 1:55:27Speaker 6: A natural just subtle power dynamic that happens that you
- 1:55:29Speaker 6: just never really get n.
- 1:55:32Speaker 9: Talks about Keith Robinson, like Keith Robinson was in Is
- 1:55:34Speaker 9: in New York Comic that was like with he you
- 1:55:37Speaker 9: know Jay Big Jay and Kevin and they would he did,
- 1:55:40Speaker 9: he helped him a lot, and uh, you know, Kevin
- 1:55:44Speaker 9: Art's obviously the most famous person on the planet and
- 1:55:47Speaker 9: Keith is most people would not know who Keith is.
- 1:55:49Speaker 9: But I think Kevin's got to feel like a little
- 1:55:52Speaker 9: you know, It's like there's a little like Keith could
- 1:55:55Speaker 9: Keith and say whatever he wants to Kevin, like the situation,
- 1:55:58Speaker 9: verybel could sit down and say whatever he wants to
- 1:55:59Speaker 9: you whatever, Like You're still gonna feel like you gotta
- 1:56:02Speaker 9: just take it like.
- 1:56:04Speaker 6: You And that hurts, like it hurts to agree with that,
- 1:56:07Speaker 6: but it's totally true. Got them pizza feet and I
- 1:56:09Speaker 6: was just like, yeah, he did say that to you.
- 1:56:11Speaker 1: Yeah, that was tough.
- 1:56:14Speaker 6: Yeah, who's somebody. Who's somebody that you've met that you've
- 1:56:19Speaker 6: been absolutely fired up to fucking meet.
- 1:56:22Speaker 1: I met Tiger Tiger Woods. That's a solid one.
- 1:56:24Speaker 9: And that was h before or after after again, very humble,
- 1:56:28Speaker 9: very cool.
- 1:56:29Speaker 1: Uh tell you what, people just need.
- 1:56:30Speaker 9: A little people need a little I can tell you
- 1:56:33Speaker 9: if you think someone's like getting a little too high
- 1:56:35Speaker 9: on the horse. Uh yeah, there could be. I got
- 1:56:39Speaker 9: the you got the pill to make that all better.
- 1:56:42Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:56:43Speaker 9: But he was Yeah, he was awesome. I mean yeah,
- 1:56:46Speaker 9: he just felt like I did a corporate gig for
- 1:56:50Speaker 9: the PGA or something. It was him and Rory were there.
- 1:56:52Speaker 9: This was and uh, I didn't get to meet Rory.
- 1:56:54Speaker 9: I would like to meet Rory, and uh, I just
- 1:56:56Speaker 9: didn't get to meet him. But Rory seemed very nice.
- 1:56:59Speaker 1: Uh.
- 1:57:00Speaker 9: And then but Tiger was there and they I was
- 1:57:02Speaker 9: like kind of like it'd be really cool to meet him,
- 1:57:04Speaker 9: and the lady was like, yeah, we're having and he
- 1:57:06Speaker 9: kind of came up and I just got to briefly
- 1:57:08Speaker 9: talk to him and then we just talked about it.
- 1:57:09Speaker 9: He went on the Tonight Show and talked about Foulon
- 1:57:11Speaker 9: and uh, kind of quick, we gotta I gotta picture,
- 1:57:14Speaker 9: like that's not just me and him. It was just
- 1:57:16Speaker 9: taking picture of kind of the moment and unda yeah, yeah,
- 1:57:22Speaker 9: where you like just take a bunch of piak like
- 1:57:23Speaker 9: I don't I don't want to ask, make sure you
- 1:57:25Speaker 9: have your camera out. Yeah yeah, and so that that,
- 1:57:28Speaker 9: I mean, that was like one that I was like
- 1:57:30Speaker 9: you know, Jordan would be another one. Uh, but Tiger
- 1:57:33Speaker 9: was probably the is the biggest for me because Tiger
- 1:57:36Speaker 9: I watched his whole thing, like when he turned pro.
- 1:57:39Speaker 9: I mean, I'm he's forty eight or nine or something
- 1:57:43Speaker 9: like that, and I was just at the age of
- 1:57:45Speaker 9: like watching that guy's whole existence. So yeah, Tiger was
- 1:57:49Speaker 9: one that were just like, you're like, this is crazy, dude. Yeah,
- 1:57:53Speaker 9: I'd imagine meeting like Tom Cruise would be like that.
- 1:57:55Speaker 9: There's like big ones. Yeah, yeah, he's very nice. Yeah,
- 1:57:58Speaker 9: he's just nice. He's many you should want. You should
- 1:58:01Speaker 9: meet Tom Hanks. Yeah, one of them. Like he's like
- 1:58:04Speaker 9: one though that you're like, go you like if you
- 1:58:06Speaker 9: if it's like if you saw him out and someone's again,
- 1:58:09Speaker 9: don't meet your hero, Like you can go meet Tom Hanks.
- 1:58:11Speaker 9: That dude's a good dude. Yeah, he's a He was.
- 1:58:13Speaker 1: A very very nice, very nice. I wonder what Tom
- 1:58:15Speaker 1: Cruise is about. I wonder what he's think.
- 1:58:18Speaker 6: I've heard scientology, right, Yeah, it's like that's like I
- 1:58:22Speaker 6: do movies and then scientologist.
- 1:58:24Speaker 1: That's the thing.
- 1:58:25Speaker 9: I'd be scared to meet him because I would probably
- 1:58:27Speaker 9: become a scientist.
- 1:58:28Speaker 1: Have you been on the Scientology building on eighth Avenue.
- 1:58:31Speaker 1: No I haven't. There's one right on eighth. You go
- 1:58:33Speaker 1: down and every once in a while there'll be a
- 1:58:35Speaker 1: little thing out there that says free personality test. I've
- 1:58:37Speaker 1: been tempted to just pull over.
- 1:58:39Speaker 9: Yeah, there's a there's a I get nervous signs like
- 1:58:41Speaker 9: they're they're good, dude, And I think they could go
- 1:58:44Speaker 9: in there, and you're like, all right, all right, they
- 1:58:47Speaker 9: can they Yeah, they go, yeah, if you if you
- 1:58:49Speaker 9: just have any which I think is how you should
- 1:58:52Speaker 9: live with any question of anything, just question everything a
- 1:58:57Speaker 9: little bit. Uh. And then you go see they go
- 1:59:00Speaker 9: into the Scientology and then Tom Cruise was in there.
- 1:59:02Speaker 9: You're like, that dude's the most charming person the people
- 1:59:06Speaker 9: that I've met him.
- 1:59:07Speaker 1: I knew a guy that.
- 1:59:09Speaker 9: Worked as a director and a writer and they had
- 1:59:12Speaker 9: him writing on one of the Mission Impossibles a while ago,
- 1:59:14Speaker 9: and they said that they told him when he when
- 1:59:19Speaker 9: they met him, they go, look, when you meet Tom,
- 1:59:21Speaker 9: they go just say, no, you're gonna think y'all are
- 1:59:23Speaker 9: going to be best friends.
- 1:59:25Speaker 1: Like that's how charming.
- 1:59:27Speaker 9: He is is He's just he takes over and you
- 1:59:30Speaker 9: were just like this dude's the best, and you're like,
- 1:59:35Speaker 9: we're gonna you're like, we might be hanging out every
- 1:59:38Speaker 9: day every home. Yeah, and that's just what it's going
- 1:59:40Speaker 9: to feel like because that's that's what he is. It
- 1:59:42Speaker 9: takes that kind of charm to be that. And then
- 1:59:45Speaker 9: they were he was he went into a hotel room
- 1:59:46Speaker 9: on the top floor. Uh, they rented the whole floor out.
- 1:59:49Speaker 9: You know, I mean, you can't that guy like is
- 1:59:52Speaker 9: a walking Walmart, Like he's a billion dollars. Like it's
- 1:59:55Speaker 9: just you have to be like and I think he
- 1:59:56Speaker 9: tries to get on a motorcycle alone and just drive
- 1:59:59Speaker 9: off and you're like, you're like, you're like the most
- 2:00:01Speaker 9: important person alive. You're here, all these movies, all this stuff.
- 2:00:05Speaker 9: You can't just run away from us like that. Yeah.
- 2:00:08Speaker 6: But you know, like when he gets on a motorcycle,
- 2:00:10Speaker 6: like just all of a sudden, music starts playing too,
- 2:00:11Speaker 6: like as he drives off.
- 2:00:13Speaker 9: Right, So my buddy said, he's sitting in Uh, he's
- 2:00:16Speaker 9: sitting in the hotel.
- 2:00:19Speaker 1: So they tell him that.
- 2:00:20Speaker 9: So Tom Cruise is here and he's facing the window
- 2:00:23Speaker 9: and they're sitting on the couch looking at Tom and
- 2:00:25Speaker 9: they're talking about like all right, we'll go do this
- 2:00:27Speaker 9: for mission. But then we're gonna and Tom's kind of
- 2:00:28Speaker 9: going to the whole thing. And then they see Tom start
- 2:00:30Speaker 9: to squint because the sun was setting, so the sun's
- 2:00:33Speaker 9: coming in the window and it start a squint. So
- 2:00:35Speaker 9: then they say he says, Tom just pushes.
- 2:00:37Speaker 1: A button on. I don't even know.
- 2:00:38Speaker 9: It might have been like an iPad, or it might
- 2:00:40Speaker 9: have been something pushes a button. Two people come in
- 2:00:43Speaker 9: with sunglasses. He's got an option, so they both have
- 2:00:48Speaker 9: a pair, and he just looks and then grabs this
- 2:00:50Speaker 9: pair and puts it on, and but just keeps talking
- 2:00:53Speaker 9: the whole time and then never says, yeah, yeah, those
- 2:00:57Speaker 9: are my sunglasses people, or whatever you should say to
- 2:01:00Speaker 9: go like hey, what was that like high light diversion people?
- 2:01:05Speaker 9: It doesn't make sense, Like you're like, are they just
- 2:01:07Speaker 9: back there? Does that button just for sunglasses? Like you
- 2:01:10Speaker 9: have people just for sunglasses? Or like how would they know?
- 2:01:14Speaker 9: They came out of a room offered two persons, goes,
- 2:01:17Speaker 9: he's still talking and just goes and puts it on.
- 2:01:20Speaker 6: They leave, and then he still just keeps going. You know,
- 2:01:22Speaker 6: like if you're in there and you just kind of
- 2:01:24Speaker 6: like look around. Nobody says you're gonna ask. I would say, like, hey,
- 2:01:27Speaker 6: who were they? It's probably one of those moments where
- 2:01:29Speaker 6: you look around you see everybody still die.
- 2:01:31Speaker 9: Then you're kind of just too scared to say anything.
- 2:01:34Speaker 9: He's I think he's taken over the situation. He's talking
- 2:01:37Speaker 9: so much, and he's probably and he's into it, like
- 2:01:40Speaker 9: because he's like doing these stunts.
- 2:01:41Speaker 1: Yeah, he does all this stuff himself, so.
- 2:01:43Speaker 9: He's like, you know, and you're just kind of like
- 2:01:45Speaker 9: caught up in it, and you might almost expect it.
- 2:01:48Speaker 1: To be honest, you might sit there and go, yeah, yeah,
- 2:01:50Speaker 1: that's what. They should have.
- 2:01:51Speaker 9: Brought him sunglasses And that's insane that y'all made him
- 2:01:54Speaker 9: push the button.
- 2:01:55Speaker 1: Should you should have just felt it. Somebody just got fired.
- 2:02:00Speaker 1: You know what, it's five o'clock, the sun's starting to set.
- 2:02:03Speaker 9: Let's go be around Tom with sunglasses and then you
- 2:02:05Speaker 9: just get on that side, you could.
- 2:02:07Speaker 1: I remember one.
- 2:02:07Speaker 9: Time talking to the super rich dude that said like
- 2:02:10Speaker 9: he was running by a house and uh he said,
- 2:02:13Speaker 9: you know, because the master bedroom only had one bathroom
- 2:02:16Speaker 9: and he said that like that, and I was like, what,
- 2:02:19Speaker 9: like master bedrooms only like they have two full bathrooms.
- 2:02:23Speaker 9: And but then the moment when they say it, you're like, yeah, dude,
- 2:02:25Speaker 9: screw that house.
- 2:02:27Speaker 1: Are you out of your mind?
- 2:02:27Speaker 9: Why were you embarrassing? Is that that they build a
- 2:02:31Speaker 9: house with just one bathroom in the master bedroom to
- 2:02:33Speaker 9: thirty square foot house? Yeah, he's like they didn't have
- 2:02:36Speaker 9: two bathrooms in the master bedroom. You're like, well, that's
- 2:02:38Speaker 9: I'm glad you didn't buy it. Yeah, you know what
- 2:02:40Speaker 9: they deserve.
- 2:02:41Speaker 1: Yeah they sell. Yeah, and that's a good point.
- 2:02:44Speaker 9: Yeah, you start realizing, like my stupid house, I got
- 2:02:48Speaker 9: one bathroom in the master bedroom, and.
- 2:02:50Speaker 1: I look like an idiot, hopeing god he never comes over,
- 2:02:52Speaker 1: I hope. Yeah, yeah, you can't invite him. Yeah, man,
- 2:02:54Speaker 1: that's crazy. You look at the window. Yeah yeah I
- 2:02:57Speaker 1: changed my bathroom. Yeah.
- 2:02:58Speaker 9: I didn't even know that was a possible to one
- 2:03:00Speaker 9: two bathrooms. Like that's a dream that you're like, I
- 2:03:03Speaker 9: didn't know you I could even have that dream. But
- 2:03:05Speaker 9: now I'll think about every day, like two full bathrooms. Look,
- 2:03:10Speaker 9: two bathrooms, two showers in.
- 2:03:12Speaker 1: The master bedroom. That didn't make any sense. Well, that's unpractical.
- 2:03:15Speaker 9: And next time you look at your dumb wife brushing
- 2:03:17Speaker 9: your teeth next to you, like you should be in
- 2:03:19Speaker 9: your own bathroom, and you're just furious, like you go,
- 2:03:23Speaker 9: what are we doing all scrammed in here?
- 2:03:25Speaker 1: Yeah, pissed off? Yeah, you gotta share a scene, ma'am.
- 2:03:30Speaker 1: We gotta. I know. I feel like we have a
- 2:03:33Speaker 1: hit the first one. Yeah, yeah, yeah, boys, how are
- 2:03:36Speaker 1: we doing? I'm interrupting this episode all the way from
- 2:03:38Speaker 1: Canada to present our dude wipe Shittiest moment segment, this
- 2:03:42Speaker 1: moment right here, looks back here Golden Hour filming a segment.
- 2:03:45Speaker 1: How incredible is that? Are you still using toilet paper?
- 2:03:47Speaker 1: Because if you are, you're in the stone ages. Dude,
- 2:03:49Speaker 1: drop the TP and pick up Dude Wipes, the wet
- 2:03:52Speaker 1: extra large flushable wipe that clears instead of smears. Wiping
- 2:03:55Speaker 1: wet just cleans better than a wiping dry. Get confidently
- 2:03:58Speaker 1: clean with dude Wipes. So you can pick up these
- 2:04:00Speaker 1: dude wipes on Amazon or Walmart and Target nationwide. Now
- 2:04:03Speaker 1: let's get back to this episode. Do you guys have
- 2:04:05Speaker 1: a day, because look at this, we're having a hell
- 2:04:07Speaker 1: of a day over here.
- 2:04:09Speaker 6: For our dude Wipes question. Yeah, partnered with dude Wipes.
- 2:04:12Speaker 6: What is the shittiest moment of your career.
- 2:04:17Speaker 9: Uh, there's been a bunch. Uh, it's trying to think
- 2:04:23Speaker 9: I bombed on a cruise once and uh, and so
- 2:04:28Speaker 9: you're on the boat with these people and get up.
- 2:04:32Speaker 9: I remember, like I had to do three shows, and
- 2:04:36Speaker 9: so I do the first two shows. One show goes
- 2:04:37Speaker 9: the point when you would do them you have to
- 2:04:39Speaker 9: do three shows of half an hour, so you'd have
- 2:04:42Speaker 9: to do a half hour clean, half hour dirty, and
- 2:04:44Speaker 9: then you'd have another show that's like a half hour.
- 2:04:47Speaker 9: And so this is a show actually that a lot
- 2:04:48Speaker 9: of crowd work comics that can do crowd work are
- 2:04:51Speaker 9: very good at because it's like that's kind of the
- 2:04:54Speaker 9: best thing because you can just go do talk to
- 2:04:55Speaker 9: the crowd. Every every crowd's different, every show is different
- 2:04:58Speaker 9: because you're talking to the crowd. But for me, I
- 2:05:00Speaker 9: didn't have like enough, I'm not a crowdway person. I
- 2:05:02Speaker 9: didn't know how to do it, and then I'm not
- 2:05:04Speaker 9: great at it, and then I won't add material. So
- 2:05:07Speaker 9: I go do it and like I just bomb, like
- 2:05:10Speaker 9: because they they've all heard the jokes because I've only
- 2:05:12Speaker 9: had like basically an hour. So I split them up
- 2:05:14Speaker 9: into the two of those thirty minute shows. And then
- 2:05:17Speaker 9: the third show, I was like, well, maybe those people
- 2:05:19Speaker 9: won't come back. Well they come back and they just
- 2:05:21Speaker 9: and I wrote I remember that show. I wrote an
- 2:05:23Speaker 9: elevator with guys and they were saying. They were like, yeah,
- 2:05:27Speaker 9: there's two comics and then go this one comic was great.
- 2:05:30Speaker 9: The other guy they loved him and im me, they
- 2:05:32Speaker 9: go that other guy is like not good. And I mean,
- 2:05:35Speaker 9: my shoulder is touching that man who's saying that. But
- 2:05:38Speaker 9: I have like my hat on and not that you
- 2:05:40Speaker 9: even know me. So that was a pretty tough. Like
- 2:05:41Speaker 9: I was in uh, I was in an elevator in
- 2:05:44Speaker 9: the ocean. I think it's a moment that you would
- 2:05:47Speaker 9: think you'd be happy. It just I mean, I'm just
- 2:05:50Speaker 9: and I just got off whatever floor was the next floor.
- 2:05:54Speaker 9: I just walked off.
- 2:05:55Speaker 6: God, that would be brutally somebody being on a cruise ship.
- 2:05:58Speaker 1: He did.
- 2:05:59Speaker 6: He did some shows and he bombed and he's on
- 2:06:02Speaker 6: the elevator and the guy the gentleman.
- 2:06:04Speaker 1: Next time there's a you know, crowd on the elevator.
- 2:06:06Speaker 6: He's wearing a hat, so they can't they don't recognize
- 2:06:08Speaker 6: who he is, and they're talking about how you know
- 2:06:11Speaker 6: this one comic they loved him, and then but that
- 2:06:13Speaker 6: last one, like.
- 2:06:13Speaker 1: He just wasn't very good and he said he's he's
- 2:06:16Speaker 1: just standing there. That's tough. You ever get over that? Uh?
- 2:06:21Speaker 9: Yeah, you remember, you know, it's always funny afterwards because
- 2:06:24Speaker 9: you're like, you're glad it happens like, uh, you're glad
- 2:06:28Speaker 9: in the sunset. It's a funny story to tell, like
- 2:06:30Speaker 9: you know, Uh, but yeah, it's pretty tough.
- 2:06:33Speaker 1: I'll tell you.
- 2:06:33Speaker 9: One of the ones that hurt me the most was
- 2:06:35Speaker 9: I auditioned for Last Comic Standing when Gialdo hosted, and
- 2:06:39Speaker 9: uh uh and Craig Robinson was on it because he
- 2:06:43Speaker 9: had his had a movie, very funny joke that Gido said,
- 2:06:47Speaker 9: Craig Robinson had the movie a hot Tub time Machine
- 2:06:50Speaker 9: and uh and so write and you see because I
- 2:06:52Speaker 9: got a new movie, hot Tub time Machine. And Drada goes, oh,
- 2:06:54Speaker 9: what's it about. Uh, it's very funny because obviously it's
- 2:06:58Speaker 9: about a hot tough time there's no way to describe
- 2:07:00Speaker 9: it but hot tough time machine. Uh So when I
- 2:07:04Speaker 9: audition for that, I did not get it. And I
- 2:07:06Speaker 9: thought I always thought like being clean. I was like oh,
- 2:07:08Speaker 9: I'm gonna get like all the you know, I'm the
- 2:07:10Speaker 9: only one clean, so like I can do this stuff.
- 2:07:13Speaker 9: And I didn't get it, and they and I and
- 2:07:15Speaker 9: I never got close with Last Converstanding and that that
- 2:07:18Speaker 9: was the one that that was like a one that
- 2:07:20Speaker 9: was like it hit me and I like it hurt.
- 2:07:23Speaker 9: It really hurt because you just think like, all right,
- 2:07:25Speaker 9: I'm gonna go on this show, I'm gonna do this.
- 2:07:26Speaker 9: You kind of get your career kind of mapped out
- 2:07:29Speaker 9: a little bit. You think all this stuff's gonna happen,
- 2:07:31Speaker 9: and then it just doesn't happen.
- 2:07:35Speaker 1: Yeah, it's just another but man, when it, you know,
- 2:07:37Speaker 1: when it, when you're in it, you're like what am
- 2:07:40Speaker 1: I doing? Dude? Like it's so frustrating.
- 2:07:43Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 2:07:43Speaker 6: Then our last one sponsored by Twisted Tea, all right,
- 2:07:48Speaker 6: the best.
- 2:07:49Speaker 1: It's unfortunately you don't drink anymore because those things right there.
- 2:07:51Speaker 9: Yeah, I missed their good time, the whole that kind
- 2:07:54Speaker 9: of thing, uh, the celtzer kind of kind of thing.
- 2:07:58Speaker 9: I I PA is being inswed? Is my That was
- 2:08:02Speaker 9: IPAs were my final That was when it was like
- 2:08:05Speaker 9: I got a.
- 2:08:05Speaker 1: Final adult stage, is I PAS?
- 2:08:07Speaker 9: That's when I was like I gotta I gotta start talking.
- 2:08:09Speaker 1: About hops and how things take. I don't even know
- 2:08:12Speaker 1: how it's all made.
- 2:08:12Speaker 9: But I pas have so much alcohol and then so
- 2:08:15Speaker 9: if you drank them like bud lights, you know, it's
- 2:08:18Speaker 9: like it's just like I got caught up in that
- 2:08:19Speaker 9: where you're like you're having you're just getting smashed and
- 2:08:23Speaker 9: like black though. I when I pas started becoming around,
- 2:08:27Speaker 9: that was that was the end. That's when I was like,
- 2:08:29Speaker 9: all right, that's gonna fit perfect into this question.
- 2:08:31Speaker 1: Dude, boys, what's happening. It's me interrupting the episode again
- 2:08:34Speaker 1: from Canada, but this time is to introduce our Twisted
- 2:08:37Speaker 1: Tea question brought to you by Twisted Tea, the smoothest
- 2:08:42Speaker 1: hard iced ty out there. You see this lake behind me,
- 2:08:44Speaker 1: You think I'm gonna walk around this lake not struck
- 2:08:47Speaker 1: to the god damn gills without some tweeze on me.
- 2:08:49Speaker 1: Everywhere I'll walk here in k Town, people like, hey,
- 2:08:51Speaker 1: lo on, let me get some peeze, Let me get
- 2:08:52Speaker 1: some tweeze. I'm just slinging them out there, dude. I'm
- 2:08:55Speaker 1: just ripping those things out there like a gun, brother bullet,
- 2:08:57Speaker 1: sports ports sports, but they're tweeze. Instead, have a day, dude,
- 2:09:00Speaker 1: Grab a refreshing twisted tea and let's get back to
- 2:09:03Speaker 1: this episode. Have a day.
- 2:09:04Speaker 3: Boys.
- 2:09:04Speaker 1: Our question for you drunkest you've ever been? Were the scariest.
- 2:09:11Speaker 1: You seat you up and you're like, man, I got
- 2:09:12Speaker 1: a fucking correct you wake up in next shay, you
- 2:09:15Speaker 1: have to dim the lights, get a quill and some
- 2:09:17Speaker 1: ink out, dude, and write some free hand poetry while
- 2:09:19Speaker 1: the candles are lit. That type of stuff.
- 2:09:21Speaker 2: Uh.
- 2:09:21Speaker 9: I mean some of this I've talked about on my
- 2:09:24Speaker 9: in my act. So usually anything that I've already talked about,
- 2:09:28Speaker 9: it was uh. I mean one was at uh uh
- 2:09:33Speaker 9: I guess an Indian casino or Native American casino. Uh
- 2:09:36Speaker 9: canceled Washing Football team casinos Washington Football. Yeah, why didn't
- 2:09:40Speaker 9: they keep Washington Football?
- 2:09:42Speaker 1: I know it's a good name and the commanders good
- 2:09:45Speaker 1: Washington Football.
- 2:09:45Speaker 9: I was like, you may just think, well every team
- 2:09:47Speaker 9: we should be the Tennessee football team.
- 2:09:49Speaker 1: Yeah, I was stupid, makes it easy, yeah, uh.
- 2:09:53Speaker 9: But so I went to that and I I remember
- 2:09:56Speaker 9: it was like three hour drive from Phoenix, and so
- 2:10:00Speaker 9: I was out in Arizona. I drove to this casino
- 2:10:02Speaker 9: to do this little one night er. I mean, this
- 2:10:04Speaker 9: is you know, I'm nobody making no money talking stickers
- 2:10:07Speaker 9: at Uh.
- 2:10:08Speaker 1: I wish this was not even that. This is.
- 2:10:11Speaker 9: I think I did some other kind of It was
- 2:10:13Speaker 9: like it was something I was making one hundred and
- 2:10:15Speaker 9: fifty dollars. But it was like, you know what, I'll
- 2:10:18Speaker 9: just go drive to the middle of nowhere, Arizona and
- 2:10:20Speaker 9: then go back to Phoenix and then fly home.
- 2:10:24Speaker 1: Uh.
- 2:10:24Speaker 9: So I go out and I was like, oh, it'll
- 2:10:26Speaker 9: be fun, and uh, you know, I'm thinking, like I'll
- 2:10:30Speaker 9: just go to bed early, get up, have a nice
- 2:10:32Speaker 9: drive back because I'm like, I'm not gonna be hanging
- 2:10:34Speaker 9: out with anybody. And then so we get doing the
- 2:10:37Speaker 9: show that I'm hanging on, Likexino. Then you just end
- 2:10:38Speaker 9: up meeting like some fun dudes. And next thing you know,
- 2:10:41Speaker 9: it's like it's five in the morning and I'm just
- 2:10:43Speaker 9: trying to.
- 2:10:44Speaker 1: Go to bed.
- 2:10:44Speaker 9: I gotta get up at like eight to drive three
- 2:10:47Speaker 9: hours back. So I get up and I'm driving back
- 2:10:49Speaker 9: and I mean, I'm so I feel so awful and
- 2:10:54Speaker 9: uh and when I and I have this in my joke,
- 2:10:57Speaker 9: I walked out at the casino and there's like wolf, Like, uh,
- 2:11:02Speaker 9: and this really happened. There's a wolf like in my
- 2:11:05Speaker 9: path to go to my car in the parking lot
- 2:11:08Speaker 9: and just sitting there staring at me. And I was like, uh,
- 2:11:12Speaker 9: you know, like I don't know what this is. Like
- 2:11:14Speaker 9: it made me really dude, and I swear it was
- 2:11:16Speaker 9: a wolf. And so I was like, this is insane,
- 2:11:19Speaker 9: you know, because I was like, I don't you know
- 2:11:20Speaker 9: what is that?
- 2:11:21Speaker 1: Is it a wolf?
- 2:11:21Speaker 9: Is it the guy I hung out with last night?
- 2:11:23Speaker 9: I don't know? And so I went, yeah, he turned
- 2:11:32Speaker 9: into a wolf, and now he's like, good day, sir.
- 2:11:36Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 2:11:36Speaker 9: So I just went back inside and I remember I
- 2:11:39Speaker 9: just rolled my stuff back in the casino and I
- 2:11:41Speaker 9: just stood there. I'm not talking to anybody, like it's
- 2:11:43Speaker 9: and I just kind of stood inside for a second,
- 2:11:45Speaker 9: and then I went back out and then the wolf
- 2:11:47Speaker 9: was gone. And so then I went to my car
- 2:11:49Speaker 9: and then I drove back and uh. And then when
- 2:11:51Speaker 9: I was driving back, Uh, I'm in the I mean
- 2:11:54Speaker 9: middle of nowhere, Arizona, just on a road alone, and
- 2:11:57Speaker 9: a helicopter lands in front of me and picks up
- 2:12:01Speaker 9: like a life support some guy on the side of
- 2:12:03Speaker 9: the road. And then takes him and flys and I
- 2:12:06Speaker 9: have to wait for that to happen. And so and
- 2:12:09Speaker 9: I'm so hungover that I'm.
- 2:12:11Speaker 1: Like annoy it.
- 2:12:11Speaker 9: I'm like, here we go, like you know, I mean,
- 2:12:15Speaker 9: I've never had a to stop for helicopter in my life.
- 2:12:18Speaker 9: I don't expect to ever do it ever again. And
- 2:12:20Speaker 9: I handled that moment hung over, just like and want
- 2:12:23Speaker 9: look at this every day, every day, every helicopter, every
- 2:12:28Speaker 9: day there goes every day. I'm looking at that. I'm
- 2:12:31Speaker 9: not I should have video of this, I should have pictures.
- 2:12:33Speaker 9: I didn't do any of that. I just was like, hey,
- 2:12:35Speaker 9: we I was like, can I get around him? Like
- 2:12:37Speaker 9: it's a hell. I mean, he's just in the middle
- 2:12:40Speaker 9: of that. There's no buildings, there's just me, this helicopter.
- 2:12:43Speaker 9: There's five us and it's the helicopter people, that guy
- 2:12:47Speaker 9: and me and uh. And then finally it took off
- 2:12:49Speaker 9: and I kept driving and so that was like, that
- 2:12:53Speaker 9: was a tough one that happened.
- 2:12:55Speaker 1: I I think so, I.
- 2:12:57Speaker 9: Really, yeah, cause it was it was the day after Uh.
- 2:13:00Speaker 9: It feels like so far away now, but yeah, that
- 2:13:04Speaker 9: I do believe that all that stuff happened. And that
- 2:13:06Speaker 9: was stuff like when I drank like I cause I
- 2:13:08Speaker 9: talked about that my special and like, uh on one
- 2:13:10Speaker 9: of my specials. But uh it's uh yeah, those are
- 2:13:13Speaker 9: moments that you're like, such fun moments that you think
- 2:13:16Speaker 9: for when you first start drinking.
- 2:13:17Speaker 1: Stop drinking. You're like, well, I'm not gonna not be
- 2:13:19Speaker 1: fun anymore, but.
- 2:13:20Speaker 6: You gotta you want the moment to live forever. Keep
- 2:13:23Speaker 6: it going, keep it going. Yeah, ma'am, dude, thanks for
- 2:13:26Speaker 6: coming on. I know you have a hard stop at five,
- 2:13:27Speaker 6: so we'll let you get out of here. Thank you
- 2:13:28Speaker 6: for coming on and think this fly for being with
- 2:13:30Speaker 6: us as well. That motherfucker's around, he's been living his
- 2:13:33Speaker 6: best life. Yeah, just rips around on just sitting and
- 2:13:36Speaker 6: you hit that damn light about Yeah, but thanks a lot, man.
- 2:13:41Speaker 6: This has been fucking awesome. Absolutely, man, congrats you guys
- 2:13:43Speaker 6: to y'all. It keeps blowing up. I love seeing it.
- 2:13:45Speaker 6: Thank you, bro man, Thank you.
- 2:13:47Speaker 1: All right, you gotta you gotta host something
