Transcript
- 0:00Speaker 1: Good morning. We are out of the gates and ready
- 0:02Speaker 1: to go on a Wednesday morning. Hope everyone's having a
- 0:06Speaker 1: great start to your day right now. I am Chad Withrow.
- 0:09Speaker 1: It is the Hutton and Withrow Show, normally. Today, it
- 0:12Speaker 1: is the Chad Withrow Show, which is fine because I
- 0:15Speaker 1: got a lot on my mind. I've got a lot
- 0:17Speaker 1: to get to this morning. If you're watching this on YouTube,
- 0:20Speaker 1: we say good morning. We're on podcast. We are everywhere
- 0:24Speaker 1: that we can be found, whether it be audio, video.
- 0:27Speaker 1: Make sure you're checking us out. We're also on the
- 0:29Speaker 1: Daily Wires. homepage. We've got our own vertical there as well.
- 0:33Speaker 1: So we are filling in all the blanks of where
- 0:36Speaker 1: you can consume this show. And we appreciate you being here.
- 0:39Speaker 1: I got asked a question the other night at the
- 0:40Speaker 1: softball field from someone who is a big fan of
- 0:43Speaker 1: Clay Travis, a big fan of our show. And they
- 0:46Speaker 1: asked the question, what is Sporting State? Is it Outkick 2.0?
- 0:51Speaker 1: Is it just another version of that? Is it something
- 0:53Speaker 1: totally different? And I think the best descriptor that I
- 0:56Speaker 1: have for sport and state right now, and I think
- 0:58Speaker 1: Clay might agree, maybe not. I'm sure he would say
- 1:00Speaker 1: it way more eloquently than I will. But sport and
- 1:04Speaker 1: state is what Outkick was in the beginning when Clay
- 1:08Speaker 1: launched it in 2011. It's way closer to that. It's
- 1:12Speaker 1: a little bit more fun loving. It's a little bit
- 1:14Speaker 1: more Southern. It's way more sports focused on what we're
- 1:18Speaker 1: talking about. Now, what we're also willing to do at
- 1:22Speaker 1: sport and state is is give you the contrary opinion
- 1:26Speaker 1: to what you might normally see across sports media. And
- 1:30Speaker 1: here is what we're normally seeing in sports media in
- 1:33Speaker 1: regards to the latest story involving Arch Manning and Manning
- 1:36Speaker 1: and Holly Rowe. So if you don't know all the
- 1:40Speaker 1: background of this, over the weekend, Steve Sarkeesian, if we're
- 1:44Speaker 1: going to point fingers at who started it, Steve Sarkeesian
- 1:47Speaker 1: started it on Saturday night. He got pissy at halftime
- 1:51Speaker 1: because ESPN had technical difficulties. and he left the halftime interview.
- 1:55Speaker 1: Laura Rutledge explained it and said, hey, if anybody's owed
- 1:58Speaker 1: an apology, it's Coach Sark because he had to wait
- 2:00Speaker 1: on us, and eventually he decided to leave. So that happens.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Then postgame, there's something going on with him and Holly Rowe.
- 2:07Speaker 1: Holly Rowe looks down at the mic for a second,
- 2:09Speaker 1: and then Steve Sarkeesian gives the hook-em sign and takes
- 2:12Speaker 1: off running, and Holly Rowe goes pouting and storming off
- 2:16Speaker 1: like a 13-year-old, what it looked like to me. That
- 2:18Speaker 1: was scorned by her middle school boyfriend. That's the way
- 2:22Speaker 1: Holly Rowe reacted to it. I don't think either one
- 2:23Speaker 1: of them handled it well, but way more blame goes
- 2:27Speaker 1: to Steve Sarkeesian in that moment than it does Holly Rowe.
- 2:31Speaker 1: So the media jumps in. I jump in. I say, hey, look,
- 2:34Speaker 1: Steve Sarkeesian looks like a jerk in this whole situation,
- 2:37Speaker 1: which he did for what he was doing. There's no
- 2:40Speaker 1: excuse not to just be a decent human and stand
- 2:43Speaker 1: there for one minute maybe and celebrate your team's success
- 2:47Speaker 1: and sell the Texas Longhorns to To America that's watching
- 2:51Speaker 1: that game at that point. I don't know why he
- 2:53Speaker 1: felt the need to do that. It was ridiculous. It
- 2:55Speaker 1: was childish. It was this and that. If anyone owed
- 2:58Speaker 1: anybody an apology at that point, to me, and I'm
- 3:01Speaker 1: not a big forced apology person. Let me reframe that.
- 3:04Speaker 1: I'm not a forced apology person at all. If you
- 3:06Speaker 1: truly mean it, then you can apologize publicly to someone.
- 3:10Speaker 1: If you truly owe that person an apology, you can
- 3:13Speaker 1: do it. If I had to pick someone in this
- 3:15Speaker 1: story that owed an apology, it was Steve Sarkeesian in
- 3:18Speaker 1: that moment. Hey, Holly. Sorry. Hey, ESPN, television partner that
- 3:24Speaker 1: pays $ 3 billion to my conference and helps pay my salary.
- 3:28Speaker 1: I'm sorry. Shouldn't have acted like that. Should have just
- 3:30Speaker 1: stood there and been a professional and taken the questions
- 3:33Speaker 1: and gotten out of there within a minute. Wouldn't have
- 3:35Speaker 1: been difficult at all, especially after an emotional win like
- 3:38Speaker 1: that where you get a chance to celebrate on national TV.
- 3:41Speaker 1: But instead, he acted that way, and he ran off.
- 3:44Speaker 1: I think Steve Sarkeesian owed the apology at that point, okay?
- 3:49Speaker 1: The person who does not owe anyone apology is Arch Manning.
- 3:54Speaker 1: Arch Manning, during a press conference, laughs at a stupid
- 3:59Speaker 1: AI-generated video of his coach slapping Holly Roe, okay? Was
- 4:05Speaker 1: the video funny? I didn't find it very funny. Was
- 4:08Speaker 1: I overly offended by it, knowing it's just a dumb
- 4:11Speaker 1: AI edit? No, I wasn't overly offended about it. There's
- 4:15Speaker 1: way more offensive things happening in sports and with violence
- 4:19Speaker 1: towards women than what was on that video and a
- 4:22Speaker 1: 22-year-old Arch Manning laughing at what was on that video.
- 4:26Speaker 1: Way more things to get upset about than that. But
- 4:30Speaker 1: Arch Manning decided, hey, it's time to apologize. Here is
- 4:33Speaker 1: his apology. He says, in my press conference yesterday, I
- 4:36Speaker 1: made an insensitive comment about an AI video. There is
- 4:39Speaker 1: nothing funny about it. It's easy to say I didn't
- 4:41Speaker 1: mean it. but I know my words and actions were
- 4:43Speaker 1: hurtful to a lot of people. I do not take
- 4:45Speaker 1: that lightly, and I'm deeply sorry for that. I specifically
- 4:48Speaker 1: want to apologize to Holly Rowe for what she has
- 4:51Speaker 1: personally had to deal with because of my comments. I
- 4:53Speaker 1: have a ton of respect for her and appreciate her
- 4:56Speaker 1: showing me grace in this moment. I need to do
- 4:58Speaker 1: better and will be more thoughtful going forward. Okay, first off,
- 5:02Speaker 1: I don't know what Holly Rowe is having to deal with, okay?
- 5:05Speaker 1: I'm online, too. I get a lot of mean things
- 5:07Speaker 1: said to me every single day. hosting a show like this.
- 5:11Speaker 1: Everybody who's online and in the public eye in any way, shape,
- 5:14Speaker 1: or form is going to have mean things said to
- 5:16Speaker 1: them on Twitter and online. What I've seen in defense
- 5:19Speaker 1: of Holly Roe, to me, from reputable journalists like Nicole
- 5:24Speaker 1: Auerbach or whoever it may be, in support of Holly Roe,
- 5:27Speaker 1: starting with the Steve Sarkeesian moment, to me, greatly outweighs
- 5:32Speaker 1: any hate she gets from faceless, nameless Twitter bots online.
- 5:38Speaker 1: I think she's getting way more support than she is
- 5:40Speaker 1: criticism over everything that's gone on, okay? But I don't know.
- 5:44Speaker 1: I don't know what else she's gotten online or what
- 5:46Speaker 1: else is happening. But Arch Manning is not the one
- 5:49Speaker 1: bringing that on to Holly Rowe. Arch Manning's a good kid.
- 5:53Speaker 1: He's from a great family. This is what the Manning
- 5:56Speaker 1: family does. They take the high road, right? Outside of
- 6:00Speaker 1: Peyton Manning calling Mike Vanderjagt a liquored-up kicker and going
- 6:04Speaker 1: off on him right before he got cut for– complaining
- 6:08Speaker 1: about Peyton's play one season, typically the Manning family eventually
- 6:12Speaker 1: takes the high road. Part of their brand is class, right?
- 6:16Speaker 1: So it doesn't really surprise me that that family would
- 6:19Speaker 1: orchestrate some apology in some way, okay? And I don't
- 6:23Speaker 1: want to rain on the apology. He probably means it,
- 6:26Speaker 1: all of those things. He can do whatever he wants.
- 6:29Speaker 1: But the fact that we are in a place right
- 6:32Speaker 1: now in media where Arch Manning feels like he has
- 6:35Speaker 1: to apologize. For being a 22-year-old kid who laughed at
- 6:38Speaker 1: a dumb video, I don't think Arch Manning condones violence
- 6:41Speaker 1: against women. I don't think any of that. Did I
- 6:43Speaker 1: find the video funny? No, it wasn't that clever. Did
- 6:47Speaker 1: I find that stupid golf ad that got canceled where
- 6:49Speaker 1: the guy knocks over the woman who's about to use
- 6:52Speaker 1: his driver funny? No, it was stupid. It was a
- 6:55Speaker 1: bad decision. It was dumb. Do I think the company
- 6:57Speaker 1: should cease to move forward because of a bad marketing decision? No,
- 7:01Speaker 1: I don't. And I think the main thing that bothers
- 7:05Speaker 1: me is what bothers Karen Krause at Sporting State, who
- 7:09Speaker 1: wrote a great column either last night or this morning.
- 7:12Speaker 1: I happened to read it this morning before the show,
- 7:14Speaker 1: where she goes into the faux outrage of media members
- 7:18Speaker 1: in regard to Holly Roe and Arch Manning and everything else.
- 7:20Speaker 1: The same media members, Nicole Auerbach, whoever it may be,
- 7:23Speaker 1: they're silent when a dude at the Olympics is punching
- 7:27Speaker 1: a woman on television. Where a person that has male chromosomes...
- 7:35Speaker 1: who was disqualified from previous events, and by the way,
- 7:38Speaker 1: has not boxed since the Olympics. When that happens, and
- 7:42Speaker 1: the woman that is beaten up in the ring is
- 7:45Speaker 1: saying this isn't right and being forced to shake the
- 7:47Speaker 1: hand of the guy that just punched her, where's Nicole
- 7:51Speaker 1: Auerbach on that? And look, you don't have to comment
- 7:55Speaker 1: on every issue out there, okay? I'm sure someone's going
- 7:59Speaker 1: to tweet at me and say, well, you didn't comment
- 8:00Speaker 1: on this or you didn't comment on that. It's a
- 8:03Speaker 1: free country. You can be outraged by whatever you want to.
- 8:06Speaker 1: That's the beauty of America, right? What insults you or
- 8:09Speaker 1: offends you may not insult or offend me. And people
- 8:13Speaker 1: certainly can go out of their way to be offended
- 8:15Speaker 1: by anything. Hence, Arch Manning laughing at an AI-generated video.
- 8:19Speaker 1: But if you're going to be about it, be about it.
- 8:23Speaker 1: If you're going to be a staunch anti-violence against women person,
- 8:27Speaker 1: then the same outrage you're showing towards Arch Manning, I
- 8:31Speaker 1: want you to carry that same energy to Iman Khalif.
- 8:34Speaker 1: I want you to carry that same energy to a
- 8:37Speaker 1: male swimmer who beats Riley Gaines. I want you to
- 8:40Speaker 1: carry that same energy to Josh Jacobs, to people who
- 8:44Speaker 1: have committed actual acts of violence against women. And not
- 8:47Speaker 1: some 22-year-old kid. I'm not going to say kid. 22-year-old man,
- 8:52Speaker 1: a young man who laughs at an AI-generated video. Let's
- 8:57Speaker 1: keep it consistent. Let's be about it all the time.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Let's not jump on the publicity train. Because it suits
- 9:03Speaker 1: you in that moment. And be outraged by something because
- 9:06Speaker 1: the Texas quarterback laughed at it. Or the grown men
- 9:09Speaker 1: in the room who laughed. By the way, the grown
- 9:11Speaker 1: men in the room who laughed, they're all Texas sycophants
- 9:14Speaker 1: more than likely, who laughed because Arch Manning said something
- 9:17Speaker 1: and smiled. I doubt any of them even saw the video.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Half of them probably don't even know how to work Twitter.
- 9:22Speaker 1: That laughed in that room, okay? Save me your outrage
- 9:26Speaker 1: when it comes to that. Arch Manning owes an apology
- 9:29Speaker 1: to no one. He did it. It's fine. Everybody can
- 9:32Speaker 1: move on. I don't see it. I don't see it.
- 9:37Speaker 1: I think that if anybody owes an apology in this situation,
- 9:40Speaker 1: it's Steve Sarkeesian. And I'm sure the Texas fans are
- 9:42Speaker 1: going to say mean things to me over this because
- 9:44Speaker 1: I'm daring that their coach should have to apologize for anything.
- 9:47Speaker 1: But he should. If anyone's going to apologize, it's him. Hey,
- 9:51Speaker 1: we've got a great show for you coming your way
- 9:52Speaker 1: this morning. When we come back, college game day. Is
- 9:56Speaker 1: it on the decline because they interviewed Ted Cruz for
- 9:59Speaker 1: 10 minutes? in a one-on-one while the crowd chanted, Ted,
- 10:03Speaker 1: you suck the entire time behind him? Is it on
- 10:06Speaker 1: the decline because of too much Pat McAfee? I'll discuss
- 10:09Speaker 1: when we come back. This is Hutton and Withrow's show
- 10:11Speaker 1: on the Sporting State Network. We're back. Hutton and Withrow's
- 10:14Speaker 1: show presented by Hard Rock Bet on the Sporting State Network.

- 11:13Speaker 1: wrote a big opinion piece on the possible demise of
- 11:17Speaker 1: of ESPN's College Game Day. Now, the center of this
- 11:21Speaker 1: is from an awful announcing team, which, let's face it,
- 11:24Speaker 1: pretty left-leaning when it comes to, I would say that,
- 11:27Speaker 1: but it's a lot like most media going, okay? I
- 11:31Speaker 1: got no problem with awful announcing. I think a lot
- 11:33Speaker 1: of stuff they do is really good. But a lot
- 11:35Speaker 1: of times they write something, it is coded a bit
- 11:39Speaker 1: in a left-leaning sentiment, okay? They're outraged. They're upset that
- 11:45Speaker 1: College Game Day dared to have Senator Ted Cruz on
- 11:49Speaker 1: their show from Austin this past weekend. All right, Ted
- 11:52Speaker 1: Cruz is the head of the Protect College Sports Act.
- 11:55Speaker 1: He is the one rallying different politicians to get this done.
- 11:59Speaker 1: Part of the rallying team, the lobbyists to get this
- 12:02Speaker 1: passed through Congress, is Nick Saban, who's on the set
- 12:06Speaker 1: on College Game Day every single week. Does not surprise
- 12:09Speaker 1: me that Ted Cruz... would be an invited guest and
- 12:12Speaker 1: someone that's there to push this legislation to get some
- 12:15Speaker 1: guardrails up for college football and college sports, okay? None
- 12:19Speaker 1: of that really surprises me. Do I like it on
- 12:21Speaker 1: college game day? No, I don't. I watched two minutes
- 12:26Speaker 1: of the video and quite frankly, it looks like any
- 12:29Speaker 1: interview with any politician, it's not interesting to me, okay?
- 12:33Speaker 1: There's plenty of places you can go and get interviews
- 12:36Speaker 1: with politicians and you're going to hear a lot of
- 12:39Speaker 1: the same thing. They're going to talk about what their
- 12:42Speaker 1: party wants them to talk about. They're going to talk
- 12:44Speaker 1: about what they think their constituency wants them to talk about.
- 12:48Speaker 1: And all of it, quite frankly, becomes increasingly boring to
- 12:51Speaker 1: me when I watch it. Do I get offended that
- 12:55Speaker 1: Ted Cruz came on? No. I saw Clay post that
- 12:58Speaker 1: a year ago, they had the Democratic governor of Pennsylvania,
- 13:02Speaker 1: I think, on one of their shows also. And The
- 13:04Speaker 1: same people who were mad weren't mad about that. Yeah,
- 13:07Speaker 1: I get all that. We can play this game over
- 13:10Speaker 1: and over. It's like shampoo. Let's rinse and repeat. You know,
- 13:13Speaker 1: one side gets the spotlight and the other side's pissed off,
- 13:16Speaker 1: and then one side gets the spotlight, and they're not
- 13:18Speaker 1: mad when their side gets it. Or if it's, hey,
- 13:20Speaker 1: let's keep politics out of sports, what you really mean
- 13:23Speaker 1: is let's keep your politics out of sport. If my
- 13:26Speaker 1: politics are in sports, it's fine, guys. You see why
- 13:30Speaker 1: you want to have a senator on college game day?
- 13:32Speaker 1: Let's do it. I thought Ted Cruz was fine. I
- 13:35Speaker 1: think the Protect College Sports Act is fine. It's better
- 13:38Speaker 1: than nothing. It's something that needs to be done to
- 13:41Speaker 1: have some rules and regulations within college football, which I
- 13:45Speaker 1: think everybody who follows the sport ultimately wants. Everybody who's
- 13:47Speaker 1: in the sport wants a little bit more rules. People
- 13:51Speaker 1: say college football is like the NFL. It's not. The
- 13:54Speaker 1: NFL has rules. You can't bounce from one team to
- 13:57Speaker 1: the next because you're under contract for multiple years. Coaches
- 14:01Speaker 1: can't leave for one NFL job for another for more
- 14:04Speaker 1: money because they're under contract. There are rules. College football
- 14:08Speaker 1: needs the same. It is a huge business, much like
- 14:12Speaker 1: the NFL. It's the second most popular sport in America.
- 14:16Speaker 1: So let's have some rules. I'm with Ted Cruz on that.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Am I with the editorial decision of ESPN to put
- 14:21Speaker 1: Ted Cruz on college game day? No, I'm not. Is
- 14:25Speaker 1: Pat McAfee overexposed? When I'm sitting there watching Pat McAfee,
- 14:30Speaker 1: just happen to have my television on ESPN, on Monday
- 14:32Speaker 1: night countdown before the Chiefs-Broncos game, and he is there
- 14:36Speaker 1: eating food, eating Kansas City barbecue and talking three hours
- 14:40Speaker 1: before kickoff, yeah, I think he's overexposed. Am I going
- 14:44Speaker 1: to hate on Pat McAfee for that? Absolutely not. He's
- 14:47Speaker 1: making a ton of money. He's very good at what
- 14:49Speaker 1: he does. He's high energy. I like Pat McAfee. But
- 14:52Speaker 1: is he overexposed?
- 14:53Speaker 2: Sure.
- 14:53Speaker 1: By definition, yeah. He's on that network far too much.
- 14:59Speaker 1: Is he taking more of the spotlight away from college
- 15:01Speaker 1: game day? I think anyone that has his personality and
- 15:06Speaker 1: his energy is going to take some things away from
- 15:09Speaker 1: the set at times because he is such a big
- 15:13Speaker 1: energy guy. The focus will go to him when he talks.
- 15:15Speaker 1: Do I think that's a negative for college game day? No,
- 15:18Speaker 1: I don't. I think that Pat McAfee has been a
- 15:20Speaker 1: positive for that broadcast. Nick Saban has been terrific. When
- 15:23Speaker 1: Nick Saban talks football, it's terrific on that show. Kirk
- 15:27Speaker 1: Herbstreit's always been good. Desmond Howard, he's fine. He's fine.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Rhys Davis, I think Rhys Davis is really good at
- 15:36Speaker 1: anchoring that show. Is College Game Day on the decline
- 15:39Speaker 1: because they had Ted Cruz on their set? Hell no.
- 15:42Speaker 1: It's not on the decline for that. Is it on
- 15:45Speaker 1: the decline because they pander to Lane Kiffin because they
- 15:50Speaker 1: share an agent? Is it on the decline because they
- 15:53Speaker 1: too often blindly take the side of any coach, even
- 15:56Speaker 1: when the coach is wrong? And they conveniently go after
- 16:00Speaker 1: people that they don't have personal relationships with or that
- 16:03Speaker 1: are at lesser, quote unquote, lesser programs. It's not a
- 16:07Speaker 1: good look. If you wanted me, Chad Withrow, they come
- 16:11Speaker 1: in and say, hey, you're going to be our media
- 16:13Speaker 1: consultant analyst on this show. Give me the number one
- 16:16Speaker 1: thing that harms the credibility of ESPN College Game Day.
- 16:20Speaker 1: My number one thing would be you are in Lane
- 16:24Speaker 1: Kiffin's lap. Or maybe it's the reverse. Maybe Lane Kiffin
- 16:27Speaker 1: is in your lap. Whatever it is, there's too much lap-sitting.
- 16:30Speaker 1: There's too much lap-dogging for Lane Kiffin and for the
- 16:34Speaker 1: dumb stuff that he does. And any time Lane Kiffin,
- 16:37Speaker 1: by the way, steps in it the way he did
- 16:39Speaker 1: when he tried to bring in NFL players, and sorry,
- 16:42Speaker 1: LSU fans, that's what they are. I don't give a
- 16:44Speaker 1: damn if they played in one preseason game or they
- 16:47Speaker 1: played seven years NFL. They went and signed NFL contracts
- 16:51Speaker 1: and played in NFL preseason games. They're pros at that point.
- 16:54Speaker 1: They're NFL players. When he steps in and decides to
- 16:58Speaker 1: push that too far until his own school almost gets
- 17:01Speaker 1: kicked out of the SEC, you know what the response
- 17:03Speaker 1: is from College Game Day and most people who know
- 17:05Speaker 1: Lane Kiffin? Guys, can we talk about football? Come on.
- 17:10Speaker 1: It's time to get over this. Let's talk some ball.
- 17:12Speaker 1: We're so ready for football. Kickoff is here. We don't
- 17:15Speaker 1: have to talk politics anymore until Ted Cruz is media
- 17:19Speaker 1: availed the next week. for college game day. Then let's
- 17:22Speaker 1: get back to politics. But let's not talk about our
- 17:24Speaker 1: buddy Lane, the guy that we pushed for Ole Miss
- 17:27Speaker 1: to allow to coach last year. Speaking of Lane Kiffin,
- 17:31Speaker 1: we're going to be in Oxford this weekend, Friday night,
- 17:33Speaker 1: Funkies on the square, 7 to 8 p.m. Central time.
- 17:35Speaker 1: Looking forward to it with a show around that huge matchup.
- 17:39Speaker 1: I am not concerned one bit about security in Oxford, Mississippi.
- 17:43Speaker 1: Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry and everyone else acting like they
- 17:47Speaker 1: are going to play a game in Tehran This weekend,
- 17:50Speaker 1: it's ridiculous. Stop it.
- 17:53Speaker 2: Stop it.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Everyone is far more concerned about going to Baton Rouge
- 17:57Speaker 1: than they are Oxford, Mississippi. Look, I pray that I'm
- 18:00Speaker 1: right here and there are not a bunch of issues
- 18:02Speaker 1: around the stadium and all that. I think it's going
- 18:05Speaker 1: to be just fine. Stop using rhetoric like the National
- 18:08Speaker 1: Guard and all the security measures for Lane and everything else.
- 18:12Speaker 1: Lane has invited every bit of heckling and booze and
- 18:15Speaker 1: everything else he's going to get from Ole Miss. AD
- 18:18Speaker 1: Keith Carter even said it. Hey, Lane was good here
- 18:22Speaker 1: as a coach. Ole Miss people are never going to
- 18:24Speaker 1: get over how he's tried to hurt us at every
- 18:27Speaker 1: turn since he left. How he was trying to manipulate
- 18:30Speaker 1: other coaches and players and everything else. They're not going
- 18:33Speaker 1: to get over that fact. And you know what? I
- 18:35Speaker 1: don't blame him. I don't blame him. So boo away,
- 18:38Speaker 1: Ole Miss fans. We'll be in the stadium with you.
- 18:41Speaker 1: Probably not booing, but we'll be right there beside you
- 18:44Speaker 1: as we watch Ole Miss and LSU this weekend. Vandy fans,
- 18:49Speaker 1: there's more fans next to you, shoulder to shoulder now
- 18:51Speaker 1: at games, in large part because of Jared Curtis, the
- 18:54Speaker 1: five-star freshman quarterback. We got Vanderbilt football news and so
- 18:58Speaker 1: much more when we come back. This is the Hutton &

- 20:10Speaker 1: Equal housing lender. All borrowers must qualify. This advertisement is
- 20:13Speaker 1: not a promise to make alone. I promise that the
- 20:19Speaker 1: enthusiasm for Vanderbilt football coming off last year is at
- 20:22Speaker 1: an all-time high, especially when you add in that they
- 20:25Speaker 1: bring in five-star quarterback, number one quarterback in the country,
- 20:29Speaker 1: Jared Curtis. That enthusiasm waned when you look back lackluster
- 20:36Speaker 1: against the Austin Peay Governors in week one, and Blaise
- 20:39Speaker 1: Berlowitz is the starter, and your own fan base is
- 20:41Speaker 1: chanting for Jared Curtis to enter the game and be
- 20:43Speaker 1: the starter. It really wanes when you get yourself in
- 20:46Speaker 1: a dogfight with Delaware, where I think they're down at
- 20:49Speaker 1: halftime or maybe up a field goal, but they end
- 20:51Speaker 1: up winning by nine points against the Blue Hens of
- 20:53Speaker 1: Delaware after Blaise Berlowitz starts. I'm locked into this chair.
- 20:58Speaker 1: I'm miked in right now, all that. I would give
- 21:00Speaker 1: a standing ovation if I could. I can't. But bravo.
- 21:04Speaker 1: to Clark Lee and the Vanderbilt Commodores for doing what
- 21:08Speaker 1: Vanderbilt fans and pretty much everyone else thought they should
- 21:11Speaker 1: have done from the start of the season. Jared Curtis
- 21:14Speaker 1: has been named the starter at Vanderbilt for their game
- 21:17Speaker 1: against NC State on Saturday. It's a no-brainer. It brings
- 21:22Speaker 1: excitement to your program. But more than that, you can't
- 21:25Speaker 1: lie to players. They know what's going on. They see
- 21:28Speaker 1: it every day in practice. I get all that. And
- 21:30Speaker 1: if Blaise Berlowitz was the better practice option at times, okay.
- 21:34Speaker 1: I'm willing to hear that argument. We've seen two games now.
- 21:38Speaker 1: And Jared Curtis had some pretty good stats and looked
- 21:40Speaker 1: pretty good when he played against Delaware. It's time to go.
- 21:44Speaker 1: It's time to give the ball to your five-star workhorse
- 21:47Speaker 1: guy who should be an NFL quarterback one day and
- 21:50Speaker 1: let him lead your team. No better time to start
- 21:53Speaker 1: than now. No better time to start than against NC
- 21:55Speaker 1: State this weekend, where Vanderbilt's only a three-and-a-half point favorite.
- 21:58Speaker 1: If you had told me in week one when NC
- 22:02Speaker 1: State looked terrible against Virginia And got blown out of
- 22:05Speaker 1: that game. That wasn't week one. That was week zero.
- 22:07Speaker 1: The first week of the season. If you'd have told
- 22:09Speaker 1: me then that three weeks from then, Vanderbilt would only
- 22:13Speaker 1: be a three and a half point favorite over NC
- 22:14Speaker 1: State at home, I thought you were crazy. Because I
- 22:17Speaker 1: thought Jared Curtis would have been starting and looking good
- 22:19Speaker 1: the first couple of weeks. I thought Vandy would manhandle
- 22:22Speaker 1: Austin Peay in Delaware. None of those things happened. And
- 22:25Speaker 1: now Vandy Sitz is about a field goal favorite, according
- 22:28Speaker 1: to Hard Rock Bet, at home against NC State. Which
- 22:31Speaker 1: is a bit surprising to me. But... With Jared Curtis
- 22:35Speaker 1: now the guy, Vanderbilt fans have a reason to get excited,
- 22:38Speaker 1: and I think more people have a reason now to
- 22:40Speaker 1: watch that game with Vandy and NC State on Saturday.
- 22:43Speaker 1: So that is definitely one to watch. Another one to
- 22:45Speaker 1: watch is our guy Danny Cannell, and I love Danny.
- 22:47Speaker 1: Danny makes no apologies about it like Arch Manning did.
- 22:51Speaker 1: He's not apologizing for any of this. He is a
- 22:54Speaker 1: known SEC Big Ten hater. He is an anti-authority, don't
- 22:59Speaker 1: tell me what most national analysts say type guy. He
- 23:02Speaker 1: is the type of guy who will prop up the
- 23:04Speaker 1: ACC even when there's no way to prop them up.
- 23:07Speaker 1: He is a Florida State guy through and through, and
- 23:10Speaker 1: he releases a top 12 in college football every week.
- 23:14Speaker 1: His latest top 12 caught the attention of JT, our producer,
- 23:18Speaker 1: who sent it to us. Okay, number one, Texas. All right, yeah,
- 23:22Speaker 1: that sounds right. Texas, the big win over Ohio State, sure. LSU,
- 23:26Speaker 1: number two, sure. Beat the hell out. Out of Clemson
- 23:30Speaker 1: in week one. Makes sense. Ole Miss, three. Okay, got it.
- 23:33Speaker 1: Big win over Louisville. I see that. Notre Dame, four.
- 23:37Speaker 1: Big win over Wisconsin week one. Sure, very talented. Miami, five.
- 23:40Speaker 1: They have killed everybody they've played. They haven't played anybody.
- 23:43Speaker 1: By the way, is Miami going to play a game
- 23:45Speaker 1: on a Saturday this year? Every game's been on Thursday
- 23:47Speaker 1: or Friday night so far. They're like the Maction of
- 23:50Speaker 1: the ACC. Hopefully a Saturday game is coming up soon. Michigan,
- 23:54Speaker 1: number six. Don't get it. Don't get it. Because just
- 23:58Speaker 1: like You have to weigh the big win over Oklahoma.
- 24:01Speaker 1: You got to weigh the fact that they lost in
- 24:02Speaker 1: regulation against Western Michigan. I don't think they're the number
- 24:05Speaker 1: six team in the country. So disagree with that. Duke
- 24:08Speaker 1: number seven. Okay. Duke beat Tulane in Illinois. I got
- 24:12Speaker 1: to say, of all of the takes on this, not
- 24:16Speaker 1: the worst one. Duke does have two solid wins where
- 24:20Speaker 1: most teams in America have beaten two nobodies or two
- 24:24Speaker 1: FCS teams or something equivalent to two FCS teams. So
- 24:28Speaker 1: I don't hate Duke in his top 10, but of
- 24:31Speaker 1: course also, again, ACC homer, Danny Connell throwing this out there.
- 24:35Speaker 1: Number eight, Tennessee. I got no complaints about that. I
- 24:38Speaker 1: think Tennessee's like 14th in the coaches poll, not too
- 24:41Speaker 1: far away from that. Probably higher, they should be higher
- 24:44Speaker 1: than where they started the season. I don't know if
- 24:46Speaker 1: they're top 10, but they did look good against Georgia
- 24:48Speaker 1: Tech and in their opener against Furman. Number nine, Texas
- 24:51Speaker 1: A & M. Nice win over Arizona State. I understand that.
- 24:55Speaker 1: Alabama went on the road in the SEC. Handled Kentucky
- 24:59Speaker 1: in the second half. That was a game for one half.
- 25:01Speaker 1: Blew out the Cats in the second half. I'm fine
- 25:03Speaker 1: with that. Mississippi State 11. Now, be still my heart
- 25:06Speaker 1: on this one because I am big hell state right now.
- 25:10Speaker 1: Mississippi State, I said before, they have a chance to
- 25:12Speaker 1: be the Oklahoma of this year. The surprise SEC team
- 25:16Speaker 1: that sneaks their way into the playoffs. Kamario Taylor is
- 25:19Speaker 1: a dude. If he's not a Heisman contender this year,
- 25:22Speaker 1: he will be at some point at Mississippi State. So
- 25:24Speaker 1: I like that. SMU number 12. Now, here's where you
- 25:27Speaker 1: start to lose me, Danny. Going to Florida State and
- 25:31Speaker 1: winning is not a great win anymore. It was when
- 25:36Speaker 1: you were playing there, when Bobby Bowden was coaching there,
- 25:38Speaker 1: when Jimbo Fisher was coaching there. By the way, there
- 25:40Speaker 1: are reports that Mike Norvell is about to get fired
- 25:43Speaker 1: and Jimbo Fisher is coming back. That's who Florida State
- 25:46Speaker 1: fans want. They want to bring back Jimbo to coach
- 25:49Speaker 1: Florida State. Not the worst idea of a retread coach
- 25:51Speaker 1: I've heard. If Rich Rod can go back home to
- 25:54Speaker 1: West Virginia... then why not Jimbo Fisher to Florida State?
- 25:58Speaker 1: But I apologize to our friend Danny Connell when I
- 26:01Speaker 1: say this. It's a day full of apologies here in
- 26:04Speaker 1: the sports world. Going to Tallahassee and winning a game
- 26:09Speaker 1: is only difficult because your stadium is so inept they
- 26:12Speaker 1: can't keep the lights on. That's what made that game
- 26:14Speaker 1: difficult for SMU. It's nothing that Florida State did. Your
- 26:18Speaker 1: terrible program had a power outage during the game. That's
- 26:22Speaker 1: what made the circumstances difficult. There's nothing about Doak Walker
- 26:24Speaker 1: Stadium that's tough anymore. Why? Because Mike Norvell is running
- 26:27Speaker 1: that program into the ground. We've seen it the last
- 26:29Speaker 1: couple of years, and we've seen it to start this
- 26:31Speaker 1: year also. So I'm sorry, but I'm not giving SMU
- 26:35Speaker 1: top 10 or top 12 level credit for doing something
- 26:38Speaker 1: like that. Here's another point that I want to make,
- 26:41Speaker 1: and that Danny omitted from his list of top teams.
- 26:45Speaker 1: If Texas is the number one team in the country
- 26:47Speaker 1: after beating Ohio State, Ohio State is absolutely no worse
- 26:51Speaker 1: than fourth or fifth after going to Austin and beating
- 26:56Speaker 1: them for three quarters. I mean, let's face it. They
- 26:59Speaker 1: dominated that football game for most of it. Now, do
- 27:02Speaker 1: you get some sort of medal for dominating a game
- 27:04Speaker 1: and not winning on the scoreboard?
- 27:05Speaker 2: No, you don't.
- 27:06Speaker 1: But if we are going to properly evaluate college football teams,
- 27:09Speaker 1: you've got to factor that in. I also don't want
- 27:12Speaker 1: to discourage Ohio State and Texas from playing each other.
- 27:15Speaker 1: We need more games like this and not less. So
- 27:18Speaker 1: if you're going to schedule a game like this and
- 27:20Speaker 1: you're going to play it tough and you're going to
- 27:22Speaker 1: lose late on the road to a team that's now
- 27:25Speaker 1: number one in the country, you shouldn't get dinged for that.
- 27:29Speaker 1: I mean, you get dinged maybe a spot, but if
- 27:32Speaker 1: they would have come back and said this week, you
- 27:34Speaker 1: know what, Texas won, or Danny said this or anyone,
- 27:37Speaker 1: Texas won Ohio State too. I have no problem with that.
- 27:40Speaker 1: Stop looking at just the number on the right column
- 27:44Speaker 1: if you're looking at them and seeing zero or one
- 27:47Speaker 1: or two or whatever it is, and look at the teams.
- 27:50Speaker 1: Not every loss is created equally. Not every win is
- 27:53Speaker 1: created equally. How do we feel about Michigan after the
- 27:56Speaker 1: Western Michigan debacle? Does that feel like a win? Do
- 28:00Speaker 1: you feel like the Wolverines are really starting something there
- 28:02Speaker 1: this season? Do you feel good about that? Or did
- 28:05Speaker 1: you ding them for that win? The same goes for losses.
- 28:09Speaker 1: I'm not going to ding Ohio State. They look really good.
- 28:12Speaker 1: They looked as powerful as I thought they were coming
- 28:13Speaker 1: into the season. Julian Sane was good on the road. Yeah,
- 28:18Speaker 1: I'd be fine with Ohio State being the number two
- 28:19Speaker 1: team in the country if they decided to go that way. So, yeah,
- 28:26Speaker 1: that's the way I see it. Texas won. Good with it.
- 28:28Speaker 1: Ohio State should be higher. Hey, let's take another break.
- 28:30Speaker 1: When we come back, we've got some primary complaint headed
- 28:33Speaker 1: your way. This is the Hunt and Withrow Show presented
- 28:35Speaker 1: by Hard Rock Bet. We're back. Hutton & Withrow Show
- 28:38Speaker 1: presented by Hard Rock Bet here on the Sporting State

- 28:45Speaker 1: He started Clay Travis Law. Accidents don't wait for a
- 28:49Speaker 1: good time. One bad moment, a wreck, a fall, a
- 28:51Speaker 1: doctor who wasn't paying attention. Suddenly, you're fighting an insurance
- 28:54Speaker 1: company that does this every single day. That's why our
- 28:57Speaker 1: fearless leader, Clay, started Clay Travis Law. He built a
- 28:59Speaker 1: firm around one idea. People deserve someone willing to pay attention,
- 29:03Speaker 1: ask the hard questions, and push back when things don't
- 29:06Speaker 1: add up. Experienced trial attorneys who bring the fight to

- 29:40Speaker 1: Wednesday and every Wednesday on the Hutton and Withrow show
- 29:43Speaker 1: presented by Hard Rock Bet we complain with primary complaint
- 29:48Speaker 1: and now is the time to do just that I'll
- 29:51Speaker 1: begin and we got JT here too who's got a
- 29:53Speaker 1: great complaint coming your way also my primary complaint this
- 29:57Speaker 1: week is that my truck will never be cleaned Because
- 30:00Speaker 1: I have children. And I came to this realization yesterday.
- 30:03Speaker 1: My truck, by the way, smells like 15 pounds of
- 30:07Speaker 1: wet grass. We had a softball practice recently. It started raining.
- 30:12Speaker 1: And I cannot get the smell of mildew mixed with
- 30:15Speaker 1: wet grass out of my truck. It's bothered my allergies.
- 30:19Speaker 1: I've vacuumed it. I've done this and that. Take it
- 30:21Speaker 1: to the car wash yesterday. Get it washed out. Vacuum it.
- 30:25Speaker 1: Clean it. Wipe it down. Do all of that. I
- 30:27Speaker 1: can still smell wet grass. There is food that is
- 30:31Speaker 1: stuck in places and compartments in my truck I did
- 30:34Speaker 1: not even know existed because my children eat full course
- 30:39Speaker 1: Golden Corral meals in the backseat when we're headed to events,
- 30:43Speaker 1: I feel like. We're halfway to a smorgasbord back there.
- 30:46Speaker 1: Can't control it one bit, okay? Finally get one of
- 30:50Speaker 1: the scent things for the truck smelling better, vacuumed out
- 30:53Speaker 1: everything else. Well, I happened to have the hardcover top
- 30:58Speaker 1: on the back of my truck bed that was up
- 31:00Speaker 1: to try to wash out the back of my truck.
- 31:02Speaker 1: Pulled all the objects out of the back of the truck.
- 31:05Speaker 1: What I did not realize was that there was one
- 31:07Speaker 1: lone red crayon that was in the truck. Okay? So
- 31:13Speaker 1: as I'm cleaning everything out, I open the truck bed
- 31:16Speaker 1: and I realize it looks like I've been hauling bodies
- 31:20Speaker 1: somewhere because this one red crayon has made what appears
- 31:23Speaker 1: to be a bloodstain. all over the back of my truck.
- 31:26Speaker 1: I look like I've been doing some very nefarious things
- 31:29Speaker 1: with my truck because this one crayon that was left
- 31:31Speaker 1: there by one of my children, probably my youngest. Parents
- 31:36Speaker 1: out there, dads, moms, I know you feel me on this.
- 31:39Speaker 1: The understanding and realization that I am never going to
- 31:43Speaker 1: have a clean vehicle until my kids are in college
- 31:46Speaker 1: and out of the house, it hit me hard yesterday,
- 31:49Speaker 1: and that is my primary complaint. JT. is on with
- 31:53Speaker 1: us now. And JT, I know, always has a great
- 31:57Speaker 1: to play. JT, I feel like you stockpile complaints throughout
- 32:00Speaker 1: your week, and then you truly pick between the best ones.
- 32:03Speaker 3: So I'm blessed to have a 10-year-old daughter and a
- 32:06Speaker 3: two-year-old who will turn three in a couple of weeks.
- 32:10Speaker 3: We have the option of putting those two birthday parties
- 32:14Speaker 3: together and combining them together, right?
- 32:17Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:17Speaker 2: And it's a good idea. It's also health.
- 32:19Speaker 3: Like you try to celebrate Two girls, birthday parties, one
- 32:22Speaker 3: wants something, you know, like the 10-year-old, the 3-year-old is still,
- 32:25Speaker 3: you know, screaming baby shark.
- 32:26Speaker 2: It's just miserable.
- 32:28Speaker 3: But we do what we do, so we only have
- 32:30Speaker 3: to clean the house once, have all the family over,
- 32:33Speaker 3: and all those things. So we're blessed with these gifts.
- 32:36Speaker 3: People bring stuff. First and foremost, this is not a
- 32:38Speaker 3: primary complaint, but please don't buy a child a gift
- 32:42Speaker 3: that has 75 pieces, a 3-year-old, that are all, you know,
- 32:45Speaker 3: this big. It's just stuff scattered everywhere throughout the house.
- 32:48Speaker 3: And I just pick stuff up and throw it in
- 32:50Speaker 3: the trash, hoping she never, never, never sees it. But
- 32:53Speaker 3: here's my primary complaint.
- 32:54Speaker 1: Amen to that, by the way. Amen to that. Yes.
- 32:56Speaker 3: It's not batteries that I'm showing up on the screen.
- 32:59Speaker 3: It's not batteries. But do you know how damn difficult
- 33:03Speaker 3: it is to open a package of anything like this?
- 33:06Speaker 1: Period.
- 33:07Speaker 3: I mean, you have to get scissors. The scissors have
- 33:09Speaker 3: to be so sharp. Then you cut your hand open
- 33:12Speaker 3: trying to get into this box. package of just plastic
- 33:16Speaker 3: that's hard, sharp, and awful. Why are we taking things
- 33:23Speaker 3: that just could be put in a box? Amazon sends
- 33:26Speaker 3: everything to us in a box. Why does it have
- 33:27Speaker 3: to be just vacuum sealed to the point that you
- 33:30Speaker 3: have to get a damn chainsaw out to open these things?
- 33:33Speaker 3: Why is it so difficult? And it doesn't matter. It's
- 33:35Speaker 3: not just kid stuff, but that's what I thought about
- 33:37Speaker 3: this weekend. But why are we still in 2026 having
- 33:41Speaker 3: to package things that you can't open without a chainsaw?
- 33:45Speaker 1: JT, and it's not just the physical opening. You can't
- 33:50Speaker 1: even touch the packaging without cutting your hand. Even when
- 33:53Speaker 1: you get it open, if you happen to make a
- 33:55Speaker 1: mistake and just reach down and grab the packaging, you're
- 33:58Speaker 1: going to slice your hand open like the worst paper
- 34:00Speaker 1: cut you've ever received. The battery packages, all the kids' toys,
- 34:05Speaker 1: I'm with you. I feel like we could use a
- 34:09Speaker 1: lot of our resources as companies or as a country
- 34:12Speaker 1: if we saved on the hard plastics That's these, these
- 34:16Speaker 1: things are encased in and use that for something else.
- 34:18Speaker 1: Like I don't need anything that difficult to open, right?
- 34:22Speaker 1: Like if someone, if it's a theft issue, like if
- 34:23Speaker 1: someone's going to steal it, they're going to steal it
- 34:25Speaker 1: from your store, steal it somewhere and go home with
- 34:27Speaker 1: their scissors and cut it open anyway. So it's like,
- 34:29Speaker 1: they're breaking it open right in there. I don't get it.
- 34:32Speaker 1: I don't like it. I've never liked it. I'm right
- 34:35Speaker 1: there with you, man.
- 34:37Speaker 2: Looking for a picture to try to explain this.
- 34:39Speaker 3: I found there's now actually a device that's smart of
- 34:42Speaker 3: somebody that sells a a piece of equipment to open
- 34:46Speaker 3: these exact packages.
- 34:47Speaker 2: So brilliant. I wish that would have been me 10
- 34:49Speaker 2: years ago.
- 34:50Speaker 1: I got to ask, though, you two kids close to
- 34:52Speaker 1: the same birthday, different ages. Do they split the theme
- 34:56Speaker 1: down the middle? Do you alternate years as to the
- 34:58Speaker 1: younger one or the older one picking the theme of
- 35:00Speaker 1: the party? How do you manage this?
- 35:02Speaker 3: No, we had the 10-year-old is into Avatar for whatever reason.
- 35:06Speaker 3: By the way, I know you're a movie guy.
- 35:07Speaker 2: It's awful. I don't know why anybody would waste three hours.
- 35:10Speaker 1: And 15 minutes on that. Never watched it. I am
- 35:12Speaker 1: a movie guy, but I'm also like, I'm not going
- 35:14Speaker 1: to watch something I know I'm going to hate. And
- 35:16Speaker 1: I take one look at the blue people in that
- 35:18Speaker 1: movie and I think I'm going to hate this movie.
- 35:20Speaker 1: And also I see that it's like three hours long.
- 35:22Speaker 1: I've never seen one of the avatars. Right.
- 35:24Speaker 2: So I'll tell you don't.
- 35:26Speaker 3: But that was that was the 10 year old and
- 35:28Speaker 3: the three year old really doesn't have an opinion.
- 35:30Speaker 2: So I think we did baby shark stuff. She was thrilled.
- 35:33Speaker 2: And it was that or Minnie Mouse or something. But, yeah,
- 35:36Speaker 2: it's awful.
- 35:37Speaker 3: I think last year we kind of did two different parties,
- 35:39Speaker 3: and I was like, let's just get this knocked out
- 35:41Speaker 3: in one day.
- 35:42Speaker 1: So we did.
- 35:42Speaker 3: The 10-year-old's not a fan of doing that, but she
- 35:45Speaker 3: had a birthday party nonetheless.
- 35:46Speaker 2: So thank you. But those are my primary complaints.
- 35:49Speaker 1: Very good, JT. Very good. Yeah, I've got 11 and 7,
- 35:53Speaker 1: and sadly they both have very strong opinions. So there's
- 35:57Speaker 1: never any just going with the flow. There's always very
- 35:59Speaker 1: contrary opinions and both very strong. Hey, we've got strong
- 36:03Speaker 1: opinions on this show. Crockett Coffee's got some strong coffee, too.
- 36:07Speaker 1: And they got some medium coffee. And they got some
- 36:09Speaker 1: light roast coffee. They got whatever coffee you want at

- 36:20Speaker 1: put on, you know, Mount Rushmore of Tennessee, even if
- 36:23Speaker 1: people hate it, don't care. He's a hunter, storyteller, patriot,
- 36:26Speaker 1: backwoods legend. Look at the logo. Davy's surfing on the
- 36:29Speaker 1: backs of crocodiles. That tells you everything about the attitude

- 38:27Speaker 1: slash clay. Every Wednesday on this show, we go for
- 38:30Speaker 1: the bundle, going for the bundle with our show parlay.
- 38:33Speaker 1: So last week, we did a little bit differently. We
- 38:36Speaker 1: all try to come up with our own three-leg parlay
- 38:39Speaker 1: to present to you for the weekend. That has not
- 38:42Speaker 1: been overly successful. Full transparency on this show, I want
- 38:46Speaker 1: to be honest with you. We want to give you
- 38:47Speaker 1: the goods. We want to help you win over the weekend,
- 38:50Speaker 1: but we also want to say, hey, it's difficult for
- 38:53Speaker 1: multiple three-leg parlays to hit. So We change course this week,
- 38:58Speaker 1: and what we're doing instead is every member of the show, me, Hutt,
- 39:03Speaker 1: our producer JT, is going to come up with something
- 39:06Speaker 1: they feel really strongly about, and we're going to combine
- 39:09Speaker 1: that into a Hutton and Withrow show, bet the bundle,
- 39:13Speaker 1: three-leg parlay. So this week, we've got Hutton going with
- 39:17Speaker 1: Saquon Barkley for an anytime touchdown. That's minus 125. Of course,
- 39:22Speaker 1: the Eagles come to Nashville to take on the Titans.
- 39:25Speaker 1: Given the Titans' run defense and basically every other facet
- 39:28Speaker 1: of their football team that we saw on Sunday, I
- 39:30Speaker 1: really like this bet for Saquon Barkley to reach the
- 39:32Speaker 1: end zone at some point. I am going with Georgia.
- 39:36Speaker 1: This may have changed this morning, but at Hard Rock Bet,
- 39:39Speaker 1: I got them yesterday at minus 25.5 in Fayetteville against
- 39:43Speaker 1: Arkansas this weekend. I think Georgia goes on the road
- 39:46Speaker 1: and pounds Arkansas. Georgia, by the way, I know Texas
- 39:50Speaker 1: beat Ohio State. I still feel really good about Georgia
- 39:52Speaker 1: winning the SEC from what I've seen. Against two nobodies,
- 39:56Speaker 1: but Gunnar Stockton and that veteran team look really good.
- 39:59Speaker 1: And that was my preseason pick to win the SEC.
- 40:02Speaker 1: They're going to go to Arkansas and handle business. And JT,
- 40:04Speaker 1: with Jared Curtis starting, you got Vandy minus three and
- 40:07Speaker 1: a half over NC State.
- 40:09Speaker 3: Yeah, I think it's, look, there's a lot of, you know,
- 40:12Speaker 3: you guys were there late a couple of weeks ago
- 40:15Speaker 3: meeting with coach.
- 40:16Speaker 2: I think there's a lot of expectations there.
- 40:18Speaker 3: And some eyebrows that were raised a couple of weeks
- 40:21Speaker 3: ago when he wasn't named the starter.
- 40:24Speaker 2: Look, man, Vandy's at home. They're in the SEC.
- 40:27Speaker 3: They've got, you know, I think an exceptional quarterback that's
- 40:30Speaker 3: going to finally get his chance to shine. They got
- 40:33Speaker 3: to do more than a field goal to win at
- 40:36Speaker 3: home over NC State. I think that Vandy really has
- 40:39Speaker 3: a good chance and should cover here.
- 40:41Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm with you. I think this is sort of
- 40:44Speaker 1: Vandy's coming out party this year of a good performance.
- 40:48Speaker 1: I will say like, I don't think Vandy is going
- 40:50Speaker 1: to be as good as I thought they were coming
- 40:52Speaker 1: into the season. There is going to be a drop
- 40:55Speaker 1: off this year from what I've seen, even defensively in
- 40:57Speaker 1: their first two games. I think that's fair to say.
- 40:59Speaker 1: I mean, we're look two games into the season when
- 41:02Speaker 1: you only get 12 of them, right? You're a sixth
- 41:05Speaker 1: of the way through the season at that point. So
- 41:07Speaker 1: we've seen some football already from these teams. Now they
- 41:09Speaker 1: haven't gotten to the meat of their schedule. They're not
- 41:11Speaker 1: even in conference play yet, but I feel like I
- 41:13Speaker 1: know a little bit about this Vandy team now through
- 41:15Speaker 1: these two weeks. They come out of their shell a
- 41:17Speaker 1: little bit with Jared Curtis. They're going to look better.
- 41:19Speaker 1: I'm riding you. I like that bet. They're going to
- 41:21Speaker 1: win by more than a field goal. I also think
- 41:24Speaker 1: it's safe to say Vandy maybe is a step back
- 41:27Speaker 1: from what they were a year ago with Diego Pavia.
- 41:29Speaker 1: I think all things are true. So again, let's flash that.
- 41:32Speaker 1: Betting the bundle. Three-leg parlay for this week. JT's going
- 41:36Speaker 1: with Vandy minus three and a half at home over
- 41:38Speaker 1: NC State. I'm going Georgia- to blow the doors off
- 41:42Speaker 1: of Arkansas. It's minus 25 and a half. I think
- 41:45Speaker 1: Georgia wins. I would tease this thing up. I think
- 41:47Speaker 1: they win by more than 30 points. If you want
- 41:49Speaker 1: to go that way, you can, but I'm going minus
- 41:51Speaker 1: 25 and a half Hutton going Saquon Barkley, anytime touchdown
- 41:55Speaker 1: at minus one 25. That is our hard rock bet,
- 41:59Speaker 1: betting the bundle pick for the Hutton and Withrow show.
- 42:02Speaker 1: And again, thrilled to partner with hard rock bet throughout
- 42:05Speaker 1: the football season. And they're going to bring us all
- 42:08Speaker 1: the odds, lines, insights, analysis, great content with Hard Rock
- 42:12Speaker 1: Bet all season long. Football season is here. And if
- 42:16Speaker 1: you take any lesson from today's show, from going back
- 42:19Speaker 1: to our first segment of the show today, it is this.
- 42:22Speaker 1: Don't apologize. Don't do it. Things will blow over. If
- 42:26Speaker 1: Steve Sarkeesian is allowed to not apologize to Holly Rowe
- 42:29Speaker 1: and ESPN, the millionaire coach of Texas... who look like
- 42:33Speaker 1: a jerk on national TV, Arch Manning, you shouldn't apologize either.
- 42:37Speaker 1: Don't do it. Let it blow over. Move on. And
- 42:41Speaker 1: we are moving on to tomorrow's show on Thursday. Thanks
- 42:44Speaker 1: for watching Wednesday's show, everyone. We are back at it
- 42:47Speaker 1: bright and early tomorrow morning. This is the Hutton &
- 42:49Speaker 1: Withrow Show presented by Hard Rock Bet. And you are
- 42:52Speaker 1: watching the Sporting State Network. And stay tuned. Next round live,
- 42:55Speaker 1: live from Birmingham, Alabama, is coming up next.
