- 1:34Speaker 2: We'll do that.
- 1:35Speaker 1: We'll keep you updated on what's going on with the
- 1:39baseball playoffs because the second game of the four to

- 4:07Speaker 2: On zoom.
- 4:10Speaker 1: Injury and unavailable Cameron Parker, So he'll uh sow khalil
- 4:20in for that this afternoon. Updating the baseball going on
- 4:23right now. Astros and Tigers are scoreless as the Astros
- 4:29bats with the leadoff man aboard.
- 4:32Speaker 2: I said that and he's now forced out at second.
- 4:35Speaker 1: Tigers weren't able to get the double play and in
- 4:38fact the man sliding in the second. Once a review,
- 4:41he thinks that the out wasn't recorded, even though the
- 4:44umpire says it happened on the transfer as Spencer Gath
- 4:48was pulling the ball out of the glove.
- 4:50Speaker 2: So I don't know if they're gonna.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Review that or not, but anyway, it is scoreless between
- 4:55the Tigers and uh the Astros in Game two.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Yeah, there's no doubt it was. It was on the transfer.
- 5:01Speaker 1: Looking at a replay there, so one out will be
- 5:04recorded in the Asters will still have a runner at
- 5:07first base with one out. We'll keep you updated on
- 5:12the baseball the other the other game getting ready to
- 5:14start Baltimore and Kansas City. Detroit is now making a
- 5:20pitching change with a runner at first in one out,
- 5:24so we'll see how that goes. No score and that
- 5:25is in the bottom half of the fifth inning. Tiger's
- 5:29winning yesterday three to one behind Tariq Scuoball, who's proven
- 5:34was this year anyway the best starting pitcher in all
- 5:36of Baseball League One Baseball's pitching Triple Crown wins, E,
- 5:43r A and strikeouts. So the Astros backed into a
- 5:46corner and they have to figure out from there. All right,
- 5:50let's hear from long orange Head football coach Steve Sarkisian.
- 5:54Now this is going to be from the SEC teleconference.
- 6:00Remember sark did his news conference on Monday. Because this
- 6:06is an open date week on the schedule, their bye
- 6:08week on the schedule, there are no more media availabilities
- 6:12local for Sark Like normally on Thursdays he does a
- 6:16media zoom with the there's player availabilities. None of that
- 6:20stuff on this open date, only the news conference day
- 6:24on Monday. However, the SEC has a man Data teleconference
- 6:28where every coach is on it every week, regardless of
- 6:31whether they're playing or not. So that applied to Text
- 6:34has also applied to Oklahoma. Remember the Sooners are going
- 6:36through an open date on the schedule this week as well,
- 6:40leading up to the two teams meeting in Dallas a
- 6:42week from the Saturday in the All state Red River
- 6:46Rivalry matchup, and our coverage will begin at eleven thirty
- 6:52from the Fairgrounds of the State of Text will actually
- 6:55be up there on Friday with coverage and then from
- 7:00the Fairgrounds on Saturday morning with Longhorns game day coverage
- 7:05with an inclusive of Cameron Parker and Mike hardboll Harge
- 7:10and Mark Henry from the Fairgrounds at the State Fair
- 7:13of Texas, so they'll get to sit out there in
- 7:15the open while the Sooner fans walk by and flip
- 7:18them off and stuff like that.
- 7:19Speaker 2: That'll that's that's a regular behavior there.
- 7:23Speaker 1: And I should point out there are longer're fans who
- 7:25go by and flip off the Oklahoma game day broadcast
- 7:28teams that are all on the field, and.
- 7:30Speaker 2: This is part of that whole deal.
- 7:32Speaker 1: You know, I can remember for years, and I do
- 7:34mean years, if you asked uh Texas people. One of
- 7:42the one of the humorous things, whether it was Mack
- 7:43Brown or long worn players, they talk about riding in
- 7:45on that bus and seeing these like eighty something year
- 7:49old grandma's flipping them off from the fairgrounds or little
- 7:52kids flipping them off for the fairgrounds. And then I
- 7:56would go up and I'd cover the Oklahoma news conference
- 7:59and Bob Stoops was the coach back then, and he
- 8:01would say, yeah, that Texas oklaud oh you Texas week
- 8:05is something pretty special. Get there and those fans are
- 8:08you know, their behavior is pretty special. They're they're flipping
- 8:11the off and telling you who's number one and all that.
- 8:13So they experienced it also from their side as well,
- 8:16it's part of the victory. All that happens between Longhorns
- 8:19and Sooners. It just works that way. That's just how
- 8:22that is. But anyway, it's an open date this week
- 8:26for Boat Texas and Oklahoma, so long Worns head coach
- 8:29Steve Sarkisian asked for some opening thoughts and comments about
- 8:33his team coming out of the win over Mississippi State
- 8:37and going into the bye week.
- 8:39Speaker 5: Yeah, it's always a great going into a buye coming
- 8:43off with victory. You know, haven't started the season the
- 8:46way we had. It's good to be undefeated, but naturally
- 8:50you endure some of the bumps and bruises and things
- 8:53that that all teams endure. And so I think the
- 8:56buy is coming out a really good time for us
- 8:58to get some guys healthy, to refresh out of our
- 9:03minds and our bodies, to get ready for another kind
- 9:07of three game block in the season here coming up
- 9:09here in a couple of weeks.
- 9:10Speaker 1: Now, because this is an open date on the schedule,
- 9:14in a bye week for Texas, the time that they
- 9:17were going to keep sark on the SEC teleconference was
- 9:20going to be short.
- 9:21Speaker 2: It wasn't going to be very long.
- 9:23Speaker 1: So I don't know if he was puzzled by the
- 9:26answered the question fine, But remember this is the SEC
- 9:32Teleconference is a national call, so writers, in broadcasters, media
- 9:40from across the country can dial in and they can
- 9:44ask a question.
- 9:46Speaker 2: So they're all welcome to do that. They can do that.
- 9:51Speaker 1: As you might imagine, the preponderance of the media participating
- 9:55in this thing are going to be from SEC market
- 10:00and outlets, and that includes in the Deep South, and
- 10:04it certainly been include the state of Alabama. So the
- 10:07first question that Sark got was not about his football team,
- 10:14but it was about the team they beat last year
- 10:17and the quarterback they beat last year, Jalen Milroe of Alabama, who,
- 10:20of course Jalen is a native Texan, played at Katie
- 10:23Tompkins and had originally committed to Texas before quinn Ewers
- 10:27transferred in and then Milroe changed.
- 10:29Speaker 2: His commitment ended up going to Alabama, and.
- 10:31Speaker 1: Milroe has really progressed and had a big game last
- 10:35Saturday night in Tuscal loose against Georgia. So Sark was
- 10:37asked for his thoughts going all the way back when
- 10:40he was recruiting Milroe when he was still on the
- 10:43Alabama staff and what he has seen Jalen Milroe accomplish
- 10:48and progress in his time as Alabama's quarterback.
- 10:51Speaker 5: Yeah, we had Jalen in camp at Alabama and great kid,
- 10:56great parents obviously, go athleticism was there, the art talent
- 11:00was there. I've give him a lot of credit, you know,
- 11:04it really working and developed into the really basinger player.
- 11:09You know, he just doesn't rely on athleticism.
- 11:12Speaker 2: He's a great de ball passer.
- 11:14Speaker 5: You can extend plans in his arm, can extend plays,
- 11:17use his legs.
- 11:18Speaker 2: They use him for direct run.
- 11:19Speaker 5: So uh, you know, you have an envisionment of word
- 11:22and thinking kid could be early on in his high
- 11:24school career, and then to watch it kind of come
- 11:26to fruition.
- 11:27Speaker 2: I guess you know.
- 11:28Speaker 5: I'm happy for him, but I also validate some of
- 11:31the things that you see and that you're looking for
- 11:33and the next proper guys coming up.
- 11:35Speaker 1: That's a good point too, because those were the things
- 11:37that they were looking for from Jalen Milroe. And remember
- 11:40he had his stumbles and growing pains early on, and
- 11:44he drew a lot of heat after Texas feed Alabama
- 11:46in that game last year in September in Tuscalusa, but
- 11:51he's come a long way since he helped guide Alabama
- 11:54to the College Football Playoff, the SEC championship in College
- 11:57Football Playoff Berth and now he's the quarterback of the
- 12:01number one team in the country in the AP pole,
- 12:02number two in the coaches, Texas, number two in the AP,
- 12:05number one in the coaches. It's that close right now.
- 12:08We'll hear more from log Worn's head coach, Steve Sarkishan
- 12:11a little later on in the program.
- 12:12Speaker 2: We've got some other topics we'll get too.
- 12:14Speaker 1: We'll update the baseball for you as well as we
- 12:16continue here on this Wednesday afternoon on sports Radio AM
- 12:18thirteen under the Zone and the iHeartRadio app
