- 0:00Speaker 1: All right. Welcome back to SEC football addiction.
- 0:03Speaker 2: Allie Peek on with us to talk Florida, Georgia. You
- 0:06Speaker 2: have to say it in that order when Allie's on.
- 0:08Speaker 2: But I talked about this earlier. I'm from Florida, so
- 0:11Speaker 2: I've always said it that way anyway.
- 0:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 0:13Speaker 1: We are presented by PrizePix.
- 0:14Speaker 4: Also, you can read, so.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Yeah, it just seems a little more natural.
- 0:18Speaker 2: But we are presented by PrizePix. All new users play $ 5,
- 0:22Speaker 2: get $ 150 in lineups instantly if you win using code HMA. Allie,
- 0:28Speaker 2: I know you did a video on this, so I
- 0:29Speaker 2: want to pick your brain for just a second, but
- 0:31Speaker 2: I think Georgia's won five in a row and Florida's
- 0:33Speaker 2: not expected to win this. So I don't know that
- 0:36Speaker 2: it's like, oh, it's a must win because you don't
- 0:38Speaker 2: want to lose six in a row. Well, nobody wants
- 0:39Speaker 2: to lose six in a row for sure.
- 0:40Speaker 4: Nobody wants to lose five in a row either.
- 0:42Speaker 2: It does feel like John Summerall could take a massive
- 0:46Speaker 2: step forward by reclaiming this rivalry because it has gone
- 0:50Speaker 2: the wrong way for you guys for quite some time.
- 0:52Speaker 3: Yeah, it's super– like I'm going to date myself, but
- 0:56Speaker 3: it's super weird for people of my generation because I
- 0:59Speaker 3: didn't think about Georgia as a game that Florida might lose.
- 1:02Speaker 4: Like Florida just absolutely dominated.
- 1:04Speaker 3: I was part of the generation that won 18 of
- 1:07Speaker 3: 21 games. This five-game stretch is a weird thing for me,
- 1:12Speaker 3: but it does feel like if Summerall figured out how
- 1:16Speaker 3: to win this game, it is going to supercharge the
- 1:19Speaker 3: rivalry but also kind of supercharge his– advancement of the program.
- 1:24Speaker 3: Like that, that I don't think this is a must
- 1:26Speaker 3: win for him by any stretch.
- 1:28Speaker 4: And I'm not.
- 1:29Speaker 3: Labeling that at all, but I think it's one of
- 1:30Speaker 3: those things that if he did win, it would do
- 1:33Speaker 3: far more good than probably any other win on the schedule.
- 1:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:37Speaker 1: I mean, it would, it's unexpected.
- 1:39Speaker 2: And so a lot of people would look at this
- 1:42Speaker 2: game and then the rest of Florida schedule and say, Hey, they,
- 1:44Speaker 2: they may win a lot down the stretch.
- 1:46Speaker 1: They lose this one.
- 1:46Speaker 2: They finished nine and three, probably not going to the playoff.
- 1:49Speaker 2: If they won this game, you'd start to talk about
- 1:50Speaker 2: them in the playoff conversation.
- 1:51Speaker 1: Again, pretty quickly. And I don't know if people are
- 1:53Speaker 1: right now, but they certainly would.
- 1:55Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:56Speaker 3: And I mean, I don't know that I think this
- 1:57Speaker 3: is a playoff caliber team, but if you have beaten
- 2:00Speaker 3: Texas and Ole Miss and Georgia, and you have Oklahoma
- 2:05Speaker 3: Vanderbilt and a tough game in South Carolina left, you
- 2:08Speaker 3: have to start like in the sec anyway, I've got
- 2:11Speaker 3: Florida state there as a, as an end cap, but
- 2:14Speaker 3: you do have to start thinking that 10 and two
- 2:16Speaker 3: is a real possibility.
- 2:17Speaker 4: If you, if you somehow walk away with a win. Yeah.
- 2:21Speaker 2: Kentucky, the, the other one, South Carolina already, but they
- 2:25Speaker 2: could be top 10 too. You know, like that could be,
- 2:27Speaker 2: I mean, at worst, I think they're top 15 cause
- 2:29Speaker 2: they play Tennessee next week.
- 2:33Speaker 1: So we'll see.
- 2:34Speaker 2: In this matchup quarterback, any thoughts? I know we're getting closer.
- 2:38Speaker 2: I know that we'll get availability reports. Maybe both of
- 2:40Speaker 2: them will be listed as quite, you know, not doubtful,
- 2:44Speaker 2: but not questionable. Just both on the report when it
- 2:46Speaker 2: comes out, have you heard anything about health or who
- 2:49Speaker 2: may start or what, what you would do?
- 2:51Speaker 1: What are your thoughts on QB?
- 2:53Speaker 4: So some all has told us that both have practiced.
- 2:56Speaker 3: He also mentioned at the beginning of the week that
- 2:59Speaker 3: Tramiel is also a little bit banged up. I don't think,
- 3:02Speaker 3: I think there's a difference between being banged up and injured.
- 3:04Speaker 3: He definitely didn't say he was injured per se, but
- 3:06Speaker 3: I think he played in a very physical game against
- 3:09Speaker 3: Texas and is a little sore from that too. So
- 3:12Speaker 3: I don't know that either are at a hundred percent.
- 3:16Speaker 3: I think his goal is to make Texas prepare for both.
- 3:18Speaker 3: And I think he's pretty much accomplished that goal. I
- 3:21Speaker 3: would assume at this point, because he's given very little away.
- 3:23Speaker 3: He's told us he probably won't name a starter period
- 3:27Speaker 3: until somebody trots out there. If I was a, Betting girl.
- 3:32Speaker 3: I would probably, which you are, which I am because
- 3:34Speaker 3: I like to use surprise picks up. Um, I would
- 3:39Speaker 3: say my gut tells me Aaron Philo probably starts and
- 3:44Speaker 3: here's why I, I don't think you can forget about
- 3:47Speaker 3: the fact that he went four and oh, and there's
- 3:49Speaker 3: first four games. The offense was insanely efficient. And I
- 3:54Speaker 3: think what Tramiel did against Texas was incredibly efficient. I
- 3:57Speaker 3: don't know that his individual stats so much, but he
- 4:00Speaker 3: willed that team to victory. He didn't allow them to
- 4:05Speaker 3: stay down when they got punched in the mouth. But
- 4:08Speaker 3: I don't know that the things that won Philo the
- 4:10Speaker 3: job to begin with have gone away. And I also
- 4:14Speaker 3: think about the fact that this is going to be
- 4:16Speaker 3: the first time since the first series in the FAU
- 4:18Speaker 3: game that Florida is going to have, at least we think, VB3,
- 4:21Speaker 3: Eric Singleton Jr.
- 4:23Speaker 4: and Dallas Wilson, along with Jaden Baugh, all healthy teams.
- 4:26Speaker 4: and on that offense.
- 4:28Speaker 3: I think that it stands to reason there's a great
- 4:30Speaker 3: chance that there's a whole chapter of the playbook we
- 4:33Speaker 3: haven't yet opened. And if Philo won this job to
- 4:36Speaker 3: begin with, because he had a better grasp of the
- 4:38Speaker 3: entirety of the playbook, wouldn't that make you think that
- 4:42Speaker 3: maybe you go with the person who you think probably
- 4:44Speaker 3: understands the new chapter that you're opening better than any
- 4:47Speaker 3: other option? So that's kind of where I'm at. I
- 4:51Speaker 3: think that both whoever starts probably has a much shorter
- 4:54Speaker 3: leash than they had prior to that Texas game. Because
- 4:57Speaker 3: I think Tramiel proved that he's every bit as capable
- 5:00Speaker 3: of winning as Philo is. And I think that's kind
- 5:03Speaker 3: of a great problem for Florida to have.
- 5:07Speaker 1: If they win, it won't matter.
- 5:08Speaker 2: And John Summerall should not make a determination based on
- 5:12Speaker 2: what the fans think, but what's the fan reaction going
- 5:14Speaker 2: to be when Jones is, if Philo is the.
- 5:17Speaker 1: Starter, are people going to melt down?
- 5:18Speaker 4: I think so.
- 5:19Speaker 3: I think people will melt down if he is the starter.
- 5:23Speaker 4: So if you're watching this, prepare yourself.
- 5:25Speaker 3: I think it is more likely that the guy that
- 5:27Speaker 3: won the first four starts over the guy that won
- 5:30Speaker 3: the last one.
- 5:31Speaker 4: That's just my guess. Here's the issue.
- 5:36Speaker 3: I don't think that Coach Summerall should pick who starts
- 5:39Speaker 3: this game based on how the fan base is going
- 5:41Speaker 3: to react. There's a reason that you are the head
- 5:43Speaker 3: coach of the University of Florida and anybody in the
- 5:45Speaker 3: fan base is not. But I do think there's a
- 5:48Speaker 3: very real scenario that you kind of lose twice by
- 5:52Speaker 3: starting Jones. I think more than likely Florida loses this
- 5:55Speaker 3: game regardless of who starts at quarterback. I don't think
- 5:58Speaker 3: that decision is going to determine the outcome of the game.
- 6:01Speaker 3: I think how your offensive line plays goes a lot further,
- 6:04Speaker 3: how your defense plays, if your secondary can make a tackle,
- 6:07Speaker 3: that all of those things are probably a bigger factor
- 6:11Speaker 3: than who you start at quarterback. But all that being said,
- 6:14Speaker 3: if you start Philo and you lose, you lose the
- 6:18Speaker 3: PR bottle as well as the game. And so that
- 6:21Speaker 3: is a tricky situation, but I don't think a coaching
- 6:24Speaker 3: staff can go into it and be like, okay, so
- 6:26Speaker 3: we're probably losing this one anyway.
- 6:28Speaker 4: So how do we make.
- 6:29Speaker 3: The fan base happy? Like that's not their job, but
- 6:32Speaker 3: that is going to be what happens. Yeah.
- 6:34Speaker 1: The reality of what happens.
- 6:35Speaker 2: I mean, unless they win, there will be second guessing
- 6:39Speaker 2: on either side of it. And that's why I think
- 6:41Speaker 2: your point about the short leash is accurate. Philo comes
- 6:44Speaker 2: out and throws a pick on the first drive and
- 6:47Speaker 2: turns the wrong way on a handoff on the second draw.
- 6:49Speaker 2: Like they're going to Jones, right? And the same thing,
- 6:51Speaker 2: Jones comes out and they go three and out two
- 6:53Speaker 2: straight possessions.
- 6:54Speaker 1: They're going to file.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 6:55Speaker 2: The leash will be short either way. I'm interested in
- 6:59Speaker 2: this from the Georgia perspective. We were on state of
- 7:01Speaker 2: the state, which people should go check out. It's stay
- 7:03Speaker 2: in the state on YouTube, Apple podcast, Spotify, wherever it's
- 7:07Speaker 2: on all the social medias.
- 7:08Speaker 1: There's our ad for the day. Quick plug while Allie's on.
- 7:11Speaker 2: State of the state alley peak myself and D money
- 7:14Speaker 2: from Kane's insight. We talked about this Georgia in the trenches, really,
- 7:18Speaker 2: really elite.
- 7:19Speaker 1: And I don't know.
- 7:20Speaker 2: So we talked about contact yards allowed and then contact
- 7:24Speaker 2: yards created Georgia's number one in the country on both. I,
- 7:30Speaker 2: I would rate Georgia's offense and defensive lines as some
- 7:34Speaker 2: variation of A, you know, whether that's an A minus
- 7:37Speaker 2: or an A or an A plus, whatever.
- 7:38Speaker 1: I would give them both an A grade. How would
- 7:41Speaker 1: you grade.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Florida's, like, through seven games? Through seven games, how would
- 7:46Speaker 2: you grade Florida's offensive and defensive lines?
- 7:49Speaker 3: You know, what's crazy is that, like, you have to
- 7:51Speaker 3: average them because there are some games where you're like, damn,
- 7:54Speaker 3: A plus. You know, I think Florida's D line was
- 7:57Speaker 3: probably a B plus last week. I thought they did
- 8:00Speaker 3: really well against a very expensive Texas offensive line. I
- 8:03Speaker 3: don't know if it's a very good Texas offensive line,
- 8:05Speaker 3: but it is a very expensive one. And they got
- 8:09Speaker 3: to the quarterback more than we've seen them get to
- 8:11Speaker 3: anybody pretty much the entire year.
- 8:13Speaker 4: I guess they got to Trinidad pretty successfully too.
- 8:16Speaker 3: So I think that they did really well there.
- 8:18Speaker 4: But I would say as a whole... they probably grade
- 8:21Speaker 4: out as a C on the season. And I might
- 8:24Speaker 4: give the offensive line the same.
- 8:25Speaker 3: There's been the Missouri and South Carolina game, you're probably
- 8:29Speaker 3: giving them Ds. But Ole Miss, you would give them
- 8:33Speaker 3: an A. And so there's a lot of averaging that
- 8:38Speaker 3: has to go on when you grade Florida's lines.
- 8:41Speaker 4: It's just tough because the.
- 8:42Speaker 3: Ceiling is pretty high But the floor is pretty low,
- 8:46Speaker 3: and Florida has been so inconsistent this season that it's
- 8:49Speaker 3: just difficult to know which version of this team you're
- 8:53Speaker 3: going to get. If you're getting the towards the ceiling version,
- 8:57Speaker 3: I think those trenches can compete with Georgia's trenches. Now,
- 8:59Speaker 3: that doesn't mean that they are going to dominate them.
- 9:01Speaker 3: That doesn't even mean that they necessarily beat them, but
- 9:04Speaker 3: I think they can be competitive against them. If Florida's
- 9:07Speaker 3: offensive line plays like it did against Missouri, Georgia's going
- 9:10Speaker 3: to score 70 points.
- 9:12Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 9:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:13Speaker 2: What's so crazy about it too, is it's not that
- 9:16Speaker 2: Florida's offensive line has looked really good or in defensive
- 9:19Speaker 2: line has looked really, really good against the bad teams.
- 9:22Speaker 2: And then batting is like there's sometimes they look good
- 9:25Speaker 2: against the good teams like Texas, like Texas has good
- 9:29Speaker 2: trenches on both sides. And then sometimes they look bad
- 9:32Speaker 2: against the teams where when you, when you spoke with
- 9:35Speaker 2: Jamie Bradford, like, I don't know that we thought. that
- 9:38Speaker 2: South Carolina's offensive line is.
- 9:40Speaker 4: Going to play like trash. And then our defensive line
- 9:43Speaker 4: was nowhere to be found.
- 9:44Speaker 2: It's so strange. Cause I can understand that. Like you
- 9:47Speaker 2: look good against the bad teams. You look bad against
- 9:49Speaker 2: the good team. That means your average offensive line and
- 9:53Speaker 2: defensive line will play like world beaters against good teams
- 9:56Speaker 2: and then poor against good teams and then awful against
- 9:58Speaker 2: bad teams and then great against bad. It is so inconsistent.
- 10:02Speaker 2: And I don't really understand that. Like, you know, I
- 10:04Speaker 2: don't understand. Like, I understand everything in the sport is parody.
- 10:08Speaker 1: Right now, but. Yeah, I agree with you.
- 10:10Speaker 2: If they come out and play well against this offensive
- 10:12Speaker 2: line of Georgia, they'll be in great shape. If they don't,
- 10:15Speaker 2: it gets really scary really quickly.
- 10:17Speaker 3: It's the hardest thing, and I can't figure out if
- 10:19Speaker 3: this is a team that they're good at getting up
- 10:21Speaker 3: for the big games, they're not good at getting up
- 10:23Speaker 3: for the games that aren't viewed as good games, or
- 10:25Speaker 3: if that's just way oversimplifying it. I'm not 100% sure,
- 10:30Speaker 3: but I do think the hardest thing for a new
- 10:31Speaker 3: coaching staff to do is get your team to play consistently.
- 10:35Speaker 4: And that's where Florida is struggling at the moment.
- 10:38Speaker 3: You know, we'll see the defense played the best game
- 10:40Speaker 3: that they've played so far this season against Texas. Will
- 10:44Speaker 3: that continue or will we see a completely different defense
- 10:47Speaker 3: on Saturday, like TBD on that?
- 10:49Speaker 4: And, and you're right that.
- 10:50Speaker 3: It's not opponent driven, which is, which is weird because
- 10:54Speaker 3: they truly have played some of their best games against
- 10:57Speaker 3: their best opponents. Yeah.
- 10:59Speaker 2: I wonder too, on Florida's secondary, um, because I do
- 11:04Speaker 2: think that gunner's a little bit more consistent. I don't
- 11:06Speaker 2: know that Georgia has the weapons that, um, Texas has
- 11:11Speaker 2: from cam to Wingo and, and guys like that. But
- 11:14Speaker 2: Georgia is still very solid with, you know, good tight
- 11:16Speaker 2: end play, good wider receiver play. I think Nate Frazier
- 11:18Speaker 2: is really good in the backfield. Um, but I do think, man, you,
- 11:22Speaker 2: what you, what you maybe lose a little bit from
- 11:23Speaker 2: like a, a weapon standpoint, you, you make up for
- 11:26Speaker 2: in a quarterback that doesn't do as many stupid things
- 11:29Speaker 2: consistently as, as Arch Manning does, um, So I think
- 11:32Speaker 2: that matchup is really.
- 11:32Speaker 1: Interesting, too.
- 11:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 11:34Speaker 3: Well, the interesting thing about that is that if you
- 11:36Speaker 3: go back and you watch that Texas film, it's not
- 11:38Speaker 3: like that secondary was covering Wingo and Cam Coleman and
- 11:43Speaker 3: those guys incredibly well.
- 11:46Speaker 4: And so they didn't get thrown the ball.
- 11:48Speaker 3: It's that the defensive line and linebackers were able to
- 11:50Speaker 3: make Arch so uncomfortable that he either didn't throw it
- 11:54Speaker 3: at all or he missed his mark. So it wasn't
- 11:57Speaker 3: the DBs doing such an incredible job at Pep Florida
- 12:02Speaker 3: in that game and eventually won it for him. So
- 12:04Speaker 3: it does point to what you're talking about at Stockton
- 12:08Speaker 3: is that he is so reliable.
- 12:09Speaker 4: He doesn't generally get flustered. But then we did see
- 12:12Speaker 4: what he did against Auburn last week.
- 12:14Speaker 3: And they turned the ball over three times, which is
- 12:16Speaker 3: uncharacteristic of him. But they did something to create those. So, like,
- 12:20Speaker 3: did Auburn give us a little bit of a blueprint?
- 12:23Speaker 3: We cannot rely– Georgia has a couple great wide receivers,
- 12:26Speaker 3: probably two that will play NFL football. And I don't
- 12:30Speaker 3: love a one-on-one matchup with them and anybody in Florida secondary, if.
- 12:34Speaker 4: I'm being honest.
- 12:35Speaker 3: So– how do you make sure that an accurate ball
- 12:39Speaker 3: isn't getting to them to begin with? And that starts
- 12:41Speaker 3: with making Gunnar uncomfortable, which is a tall task.
- 12:47Speaker 2: I kind of wonder, so the prize picks number on
- 12:51Speaker 2: Jaden Ball is somewhere around 77, I think, which I
- 12:56Speaker 2: think I like the more, like I think I, the
- 12:59Speaker 2: thing is, it feels like he's kind of like the
- 13:01Speaker 2: offensive and defensive lines and he can only do as
- 13:03Speaker 2: much as the offensive and defensive lines allow him to do. Um,
- 13:07Speaker 2: but it feels like Jaden balls production this year has
- 13:09Speaker 2: either been 120 or, you know, 37 or, you.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Know, that Missouri game wasn't, wasn't great.
- 13:16Speaker 2: I kind of like him to go over that 77.
- 13:18Speaker 2: I kind of like him to score. This isn't like
- 13:20Speaker 2: a pick. I didn't throw up on the screen, but
- 13:23Speaker 2: I certainly think you're gonna have to run the ball.
- 13:24Speaker 2: Some there there's, you, you can't, no matter who starts
- 13:27Speaker 2: at QB, you certainly can't put it all on their
- 13:29Speaker 2: shoulders and say, all right, go beat the number two
- 13:31Speaker 2: team in the country.
- 13:32Speaker 1: Good luck. They're going to have to establish some kind
- 13:34Speaker 1: of a ground game.
- 13:35Speaker 3: Yeah, well, and the interesting thing about that, too, is
- 13:38Speaker 3: that Auburn was able to be successful at that. Auburn
- 13:40Speaker 3: rushed for 100, and I want to say 194 yards
- 13:43Speaker 3: against Georgia last week, but.
- 13:44Speaker 1: 116 of that. Good bit quarterback?
- 13:47Speaker 3: Yeah, 116 of that. That's where I was going with that,
- 13:50Speaker 3: is quarterback. Now, I'm looking at Jaden Baugh's stats. So
- 13:54Speaker 3: the last three games, he's not gone over 100 yards,
- 13:57Speaker 3: but he did rush for 91 against Texas. I would
- 13:59Speaker 3: argue that those 91 yards are probably– his best of
- 14:04Speaker 3: the season, even though statistically it's not winning some award,
- 14:07Speaker 3: but that's what allows.
- 14:09Speaker 2: I'll push back there and say that when he had
- 14:11Speaker 2: seven guys draped on him from Ole Miss and he's
- 14:13Speaker 2: dragging them along, I'm voting for that one.
- 14:15Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 14:15Speaker 1: Well, I mean, that one, we'll take the 142 yard
- 14:16Speaker 1: performance there.
- 14:17Speaker 4: But I mean, 160, 136, 162, 142, Ole Miss and
- 14:18Speaker 4: South Carolina are.
- 14:18Speaker 1: The two games where the offensive line was just atrocious.
- 14:20Speaker 1: And that's where you get the 13 and the 59.
- 14:21Speaker 4: I don't blame Ole Miss. Jaden for that at all.
- 14:35Speaker 3: I don't think that's a talent issue. I think that's
- 14:36Speaker 3: an offensive line issue, but those 91 against Texas are
- 14:40Speaker 3: some of his most impressive yards. I think Texas has
- 14:43Speaker 3: probably the best defensive line of anybody that Florida has
- 14:46Speaker 3: played so far. I'm sure you can make an argument
- 14:48Speaker 3: that Georgia has an even better one, but I think
- 14:50Speaker 3: it makes sense that Texas is probably the best defensive
- 14:53Speaker 3: line that Florida would face. And, and again, those 91
- 14:56Speaker 3: yards are what allowed that offense to open up a
- 14:59Speaker 3: little bit.
- 14:59Speaker 4: It, it, extended drives. Um, I do, I like the
- 15:03Speaker 4: over on the 76.
- 15:04Speaker 3: I think there's a great chance that the stats end
- 15:07Speaker 3: up somewhat similar to the Texas game.
- 15:08Speaker 4: Like, I don't know that he has 150 yards rushing.
- 15:11Speaker 3: He might have 90 really hard earned rushing yards. And
- 15:16Speaker 3: that contributes to drives that stay on the field.
- 15:19Speaker 2: It feels like every time I see this game, there's
- 15:23Speaker 2: some kind of trick play. There's something that has been
- 15:25Speaker 2: saved all year.
- 15:26Speaker 1: You talked about like maybe a new, a whole new
- 15:28Speaker 1: part of the playbook. which would make sense. But whether.
- 15:33Speaker 2: Not to, not to trigger you or the people watching,
- 15:35Speaker 2: whether it's like a snap between a guy's legs or
- 15:39Speaker 2: a double reverse handoff or something like it feels like
- 15:41Speaker 2: something always gets saved for this game.
- 15:43Speaker 4: Sure.
- 15:43Speaker 2: And I, I want to see like, that is fun.
- 15:47Speaker 2: I guess a neutral, that is fun to see in
- 15:49Speaker 2: you're saving things for a rivalry game that you haven't
- 15:51Speaker 2: shown all year. I almost expect that in this game
- 15:54Speaker 2: at this point, I.
- 15:56Speaker 3: Think it's, Florida is going to need at least one
- 16:00Speaker 3: kind of just a trick play might be the wrong word,
- 16:05Speaker 3: but like they need a blocked punt that's returned for
- 16:08Speaker 3: a touchdown or giving them great field position, or they
- 16:11Speaker 3: need a fake field goal that ends up going for seven.
- 16:13Speaker 4: Like they need something special to happen.
- 16:17Speaker 3: And with getting BB three back, I think one of
- 16:19Speaker 3: the things that Florida fans have learned over the few
- 16:22Speaker 3: weeks is that just how valuable he is. And it
- 16:24Speaker 3: seems like a weird statement because we all talked about
- 16:27Speaker 3: what a great wide receiver he was this whole off season.
- 16:30Speaker 3: He's who Florida brought to SEC media days. Like he's,
- 16:33Speaker 3: you know, a first team, all SEC. Like we, we
- 16:36Speaker 3: talk about all these things. So it's weird to say
- 16:38Speaker 3: that I don't know that we understood his value, but
- 16:41Speaker 3: I don't think we understood his value, particularly to things
- 16:45Speaker 3: like special teams and creating explosive plays. And even on defense,
- 16:49Speaker 3: like Even if the ball's not going to him, the
- 16:50Speaker 3: defense has to account for him. And so they dole
- 16:55Speaker 3: out responsibilities differently when VB3 is healthy and when he's not.
- 17:00Speaker 3: I think there's a great chance he brings something to
- 17:02Speaker 3: the table, either a great return or a block punt
- 17:05Speaker 3: or something that sways this game.
- 17:08Speaker 4: And Florida's going to need that.
- 17:10Speaker 3: And they're going to also need to play as mistake-free
- 17:12Speaker 3: as capable and probably win the turnover battle too to
- 17:15Speaker 3: have a.
- 17:15Speaker 4: Shot in this one.
- 17:17Speaker 1: What's your favorite moment in this rivalry?
- 17:19Speaker 3: Hmm.
- 17:20Speaker 4: That's a great question. I have two.
- 17:23Speaker 3: Eric ran a fake punt our senior year. It was
- 17:27Speaker 3: 25 yards. And I think Urban Meyer called it the
- 17:30Speaker 3: slowest 25 yards in college football, which still to this
- 17:34Speaker 3: day gets under Eric's skin, which is what I like
- 17:36Speaker 3: to remind him. And then there was a time when
- 17:39Speaker 3: Caleb Sturgis was hurt, Florida's field goal kicker. So Chaz Henry,
- 17:42Speaker 3: who is the punter, was going to have to fill
- 17:44Speaker 3: in for him. And he was really nervous about it.
- 17:47Speaker 3: And he has to kick a game winner. And Todd
- 17:50Speaker 3: Grantham is the defensive coordinator for Georgia, which this is
- 17:53Speaker 3: probably why I hated Tom Grantham when he was on
- 17:55Speaker 3: Florida staff too. And he's standing there doing the throat
- 17:57Speaker 3: slash to Chaz Henry. Who's like 19 years old, not
- 18:02Speaker 3: a field goal kicker already losing his mind and Chaz
- 18:06Speaker 3: hits it and Florida wins.
- 18:08Speaker 4: Um, and that was a, that was a pretty great memory.
- 18:11Speaker 2: I should have known that you'd pick two special teams play,
- 18:14Speaker 2: not the urban timeouts, not the You.
- 18:17Speaker 3: Know, the other stuff we've seen, you pick two special teams.
- 18:22Speaker 1: For as petty, as much as you love special teams.
- 18:23Speaker 1: I don't know if you love special teams more or
- 18:25Speaker 1: being petty more.
- 18:25Speaker 2: I thought you'd go with the petty, the, the petty
- 18:27Speaker 2: move by urban.
- 18:29Speaker 4: Yes.
- 18:30Speaker 1: Well, that's number three.
- 18:31Speaker 2: So as a neutral, I loved the timeouts by urban
- 18:36Speaker 2: and I loved the entire team going on the field.
- 18:39Speaker 2: I had no, like certainly both teams on, on either
- 18:42Speaker 2: side of this would be like, How could they do
- 18:44Speaker 2: that to us when it got done to them?
- 18:46Speaker 1: But as a new trigger, you're like, yes, I love it.
- 18:48Speaker 1: More entertainment, more bad feelings, hurt feelings, all of it.
- 18:52Speaker 3: This is why we love this rivalry. Just the petty
- 18:56Speaker 3: moments is... I have this picture of Eric standing Florida
- 19:00Speaker 3: beat Georgia. He went and stood in front of the
- 19:02Speaker 3: band on the director's thing and is directing the band.
- 19:04Speaker 3: And his dad got a picture from behind. That's hanging
- 19:07Speaker 3: in our house somewhere.
- 19:08Speaker 4: They're just.
- 19:10Speaker 3: there's so many cool moments in this rivalry. And I
- 19:14Speaker 3: think a large part of that too, is being in Jacksonville. If,
- 19:17Speaker 3: if you haven't experienced it, everybody should put this game
- 19:19Speaker 3: on their bucket list. It's so neat to see the
- 19:21Speaker 3: stadium split exactly down the middle, 50% Florida, 50% Georgia
- 19:26Speaker 3: starts out hot as can be as a three 30 kick.
- 19:28Speaker 3: You're freezing your butt off by the time the game ends,
- 19:30Speaker 3: because it's windy right there on the river and it's
- 19:33Speaker 3: dropped 20 degrees at that point.
- 19:34Speaker 4: Like it's just, the whole thing is an experience.
- 19:38Speaker 2: Um, Most people probably already know this, but Allie stole
- 19:43Speaker 2: my score for this, so I'll let you just give
- 19:44Speaker 2: a score prediction and we'll get out of here.
- 19:47Speaker 4: I predicted Georgia 31. 31, 27. I think we see
- 19:51Speaker 4: a really good game.
- 19:52Speaker 1: I do think it's a good game. I think I
- 19:53Speaker 1: said 31, 28. So I do.
- 19:55Speaker 2: I think it's a phenomenal game. If they can get
- 19:57Speaker 2: one of those plays you're talking about or win the tournament, whatever,
- 20:00Speaker 2: whatever it ends up being, Florida can absolutely win this
- 20:02Speaker 2: and then write themselves back into the playoff conversation.
- 20:04Speaker 1: But we will see.
- 20:06Speaker 2: Appreciate prize picks again, all new users there play $ 5.

- 20:15Speaker 2: follow you?
- 20:16Speaker 3: You can follow me on YouTube at A Peak Inside
- 20:20Speaker 3: Gator Football. You can follow me on X at Allie
- 20:23Speaker 3: underscore Peak. You can check me out on Apple Podcast,
- 20:26Speaker 3: on Spotify, anywhere you consume your audio content. Got an
- 20:31Speaker 3: interview with Brooks Austin coming up. We've got our live
- 20:33Speaker 3: preview show coming. Wednesday at 8 o'clock. Not sure when
- 20:37Speaker 3: you're airing this, but if it airs before then, y'all
- 20:39Speaker 3: can check it out.
- 20:42Speaker 4: Lots of cool things. This is a big one. Big week.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm excited for it. This is the game of
- 20:47Speaker 1: the week. I don't know why this wasn't game day,
- 20:49Speaker 1: but whatever.
- 20:50Speaker 4: ESPN's trying to show that they're unbiased.
- 20:53Speaker 1: Maybe.
- 20:53Speaker 2: You know what? I haven't complained about this yet. We're
- 20:57Speaker 2: going to wrap up at some point. It not being
- 21:00Speaker 2: on a college campus is probably why it's not game day,
- 21:02Speaker 2: to be honest with you.
- 21:03Speaker 4: Probably.
- 21:04Speaker 2: And now I take back, yeah, you should not go.
- 21:07Speaker 2: I'd be fine with it being at the Cotton Bowl.
- 21:08Speaker 2: I'd be fine with it being at Jacksonville because those
- 21:10Speaker 2: are tradition.
- 21:11Speaker 1: Like, that's fine.
- 21:13Speaker 2: I'm glad they're actually, I'm glad now that they're not
- 21:15Speaker 2: going to Atlanta. It should be on college campuses.
- 21:18Speaker 4: It should.
- 21:19Speaker 1: As should this game. But game day should be on
- 21:21Speaker 1: college campuses. So I guess they're going to, I don't
- 21:23Speaker 1: know what. Missouri or Minnesota. Minnesota. Stupid.
- 21:28Speaker 2: But that's the athletic directors of Florida and Georgia's fault.
- 21:32Speaker 2: That's how I'll end this.
- 21:33Speaker 3: Missed opportunity to be in Athens and Gainesville for sure.
- 21:37Speaker 1: Allie, a peek inside Gators football. Thank you for hanging out.
