- 0:28Speaker 1: the Philadelphia Sports Table podcast show, the longest running weekly
- 0:31Speaker 1: Philly sports podcast show in the world, that's right over
- 0:34Speaker 1: eleven and a half years strong. We got a great
- 0:37Speaker 1: Eagles in Dallas preview pod coming your way this week.
- 0:40Speaker 1: We got a great guess we're gonna get to in
- 0:42Speaker 1: just a bit. But look, this Dallas Cowboys team certainly
- 0:45Speaker 1: not a team that we thought we may end up
- 0:47Speaker 1: seeing at this point in the season when we were
- 0:50Speaker 1: looking at this schedule at the beginning of the season.
- 0:53Speaker 1: A lot of changes have happened with this Cowboys team.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Who they are essentially, it's kind of bad happling in
- 1:00Speaker 1: a lot of ways, and we're certainly gonna get to
- 1:02Speaker 1: it on this show. The Philadelphia Eagles certainly one of
- 1:04Speaker 1: the top teams in the NFC East, in the NFC
- 1:07Speaker 1: in general, but you know, there's been some hiccups here
- 1:09Speaker 1: and there, with the Eagles as well. We're gonna get
- 1:11Speaker 1: into some matchups. We're gonna get into some great talk
- 1:14Speaker 1: here with regard to the Cowboys what we may see
- 1:16Speaker 1: from them against the Eagles this week. Let's get break
- 1:18Speaker 1: to it. Joining us this week to get into our preview.
- 1:21Speaker 1: We love having him on from Bloggingtheboys dot com. You
- 1:25Speaker 1: can find him on the Twitter slash x. He is
- 1:27Speaker 1: a He's a fantastic micro blogger. Folks. R j Ocho
- 1:31Speaker 1: at r j oho on Twitter slash x. We've got
- 1:34Speaker 1: the one and only r j ohow a buddy. How
- 1:36Speaker 1: you doing with man? Not well?
- 1:39Speaker 2: I really question my parents for letting me watch football
- 1:44Speaker 2: at a young age and and become interested in it.
- 1:49Speaker 2: You know, a bad day here is better than a
- 1:51Speaker 2: good day anywhere else, to be honest with you, but yes,
- 1:55Speaker 2: but there have been a lot of a lot of
- 1:56Speaker 2: a lot of these bad days. To say, Lily, So,
- 1:59Speaker 2: I I'm thinking about getting into wrestling. That might be
- 2:05Speaker 2: more my cup of tea's.
- 2:05Speaker 1: We're talking professional wrestling, WWE type stuff, DNA type stuff
- 2:09Speaker 1: for what are you thinking?
- 2:10Speaker 2: Yeah, so, I'm a child of the nineties and was
- 2:14Speaker 2: never into it growing up, but I've been watching the
- 2:17Speaker 2: Mister McMahon doc on Netflix.
- 2:19Speaker 1: Fantastic. Yeah, and I'm just kind of like this was
- 2:21Speaker 1: really cool.
- 2:22Speaker 2: But yeah, I missed out on all of this, so
- 2:25Speaker 2: I might just go relive I don't know, like twenty
- 2:27Speaker 2: years of wrestling in the past world.
- 2:29Speaker 1: It might be better than watch and following writing about
- 2:32Speaker 1: the Dallas Cowboys at this particular point in time for you.
- 2:35Speaker 1: It may help your mental health, my friend.
- 2:38Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I've I've heard people compare the Jones
- 2:40Speaker 2: family to the McMahon's and obviously to the Roys in succession,
- 2:44Speaker 2: and it's just it follows me it's a disease at
- 2:47Speaker 2: this point, it does.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Ye. Look, I mentioned that, you know, you've been tweeting
- 2:51Speaker 1: out some real interesting stuff with regard to the Dallas Cowboys,
- 2:53Speaker 1: and I wanted to start our discussion with one of
- 2:55Speaker 1: those tweets you had put out a tweet It was
- 2:58Speaker 1: a couple of days ago. So the else Cowboys did
- 3:00Speaker 1: nothing but hinder their team this season with all their
- 3:04Speaker 1: offseason antics, delays and pot stirring. They puffed their chest
- 3:08Speaker 1: and acted like anybody who questioned them was wrong for it.
- 3:12Speaker 1: They built this monstrosity of a season there's a lot
- 3:16Speaker 1: of disappointment, irritation, and brutal honesty. I think with that statement, RJ,
- 3:21Speaker 1: where does the foundation of this sentiment really come from
- 3:24Speaker 1: when we're looking at what this Dallas Cowboys team really
- 3:27Speaker 1: is heading into Week ten? Here?
- 3:30Speaker 2: I think that you know, I'm sure that all of
- 3:34Speaker 2: your listeners probably know a Dallas Cowboys fan, and that's
- 3:37Speaker 2: why the annoyance for the team and the fan base
- 3:39Speaker 2: is what it is. And I understand the sentiment of
- 3:42Speaker 2: you know, every Cowboys fan thinking that this year is
- 3:45Speaker 2: the year and this has never been that. You know,
- 3:48Speaker 2: the team obviously got destroyed and obliterated by the Green
- 3:52Speaker 2: Bay Packers and the wild card round last year, and
- 3:55Speaker 2: really I think that that broke people before anything that
- 4:00Speaker 2: the off season offered, because you know, last year Dallas
- 4:02Speaker 2: was undefeated at home, and they looked so strong and
- 4:05Speaker 2: they were healthy. You know, they weren't missing. You know,
- 4:08Speaker 2: they've had other playoff runs in the past where people
- 4:10Speaker 2: really hold the twenty fourteen team in special regard. But
- 4:13Speaker 2: Sean Lee, your boy missed that entire season with an injury,
- 4:16Speaker 2: and so there were you know, everything was there, and honestly,
- 4:20Speaker 2: everything was there, and the expectations were very low. Nobody thought, oh,
- 4:23Speaker 2: this team's going to go win the Super Bowl. But
- 4:25Speaker 2: everybody thought, like, at the very least, you're going to
- 4:27Speaker 2: reach the NFC Championship game, Like you'll go get the
- 4:29Speaker 2: doors blown off of you by San Francisco, but at
- 4:32Speaker 2: least you'll get there and at least we can get
- 4:34Speaker 2: that monkey off of our back. Like think about how
- 4:36Speaker 2: pathetic of a mindset that was from the fan base,
- 4:39Speaker 2: but that they were just so outdone and outclassed by
- 4:42Speaker 2: the Packers, who have this weird sort of ancestual relationship
- 4:46Speaker 2: with the team now with Mike McCarthy and the twenty
- 4:49Speaker 2: fourteen team and Desk Caughtage. So for them to have
- 4:51Speaker 2: done nothing, I mean quite literally nothing over the offseason,
- 4:54Speaker 2: they got worse and they got more expensive. They delayed
- 4:57Speaker 2: the Dak Prescott deal, the CD Lamb deal. They want
- 5:00Speaker 2: all these other people get paid, and the prices go
- 5:02Speaker 2: up and up and up and up, and they kept
- 5:06Speaker 2: talking about how we're gonna do this and we're gonna
- 5:08Speaker 2: do that, and all of you are freaking out. They
- 5:10Speaker 2: bragged about bringing Zeke Elliott back before the NFL Draft.
- 5:14Speaker 2: They clearly you wanted their guy. And this is the
- 5:18Speaker 2: same franchise who, by the way, let a different one
- 5:20Speaker 2: of their guys return from the Monday Night.
- 5:22Speaker 1: Football podcast to play tight end for them.
- 5:25Speaker 2: Yes, and so I mean they made themselves a circus,
- 5:29Speaker 2: and I think that they steered into that hysteria. And
- 5:33Speaker 2: I think that if they underestimated anything, it was just
- 5:36Speaker 2: how upset their own fans were. Because there will always
- 5:39Speaker 2: be a Dallas Cowboys fan who offers every sort of
- 5:42Speaker 2: opinion because there are a great number of them. But
- 5:45Speaker 2: I would say the large collective, the biggest collective, feels
- 5:48Speaker 2: like this team sucks, this team is bad, this team
- 5:50Speaker 2: is poorly managed. They set everybody up to kind of
- 5:53Speaker 2: fail this year, and we're seeing those results week in
- 5:55Speaker 2: a week out.
- 5:56Speaker 1: They certainly did seem like they set everybody up to fail,
- 5:59Speaker 1: and just how the management went throughout the off season,
- 6:03Speaker 1: you know, seriously taking off my Eagles hat. I'm absolutely
- 6:07Speaker 1: baffled by what happened and didn't happen during the off season,
- 6:12Speaker 1: and it kind of, you know, gets into like where
- 6:14Speaker 1: this quarterback situation is at now. And of course we
- 6:17Speaker 1: know that Dak Prescott he's gonna be missing multiple weeks
- 6:19Speaker 1: with a hamstring injury. The one thing the Philadelphia Eagles
- 6:22Speaker 1: have always done, as many know, is I've always really
- 6:24Speaker 1: had that competent backup quarterback. So even though we're not
- 6:28Speaker 1: going to be seeing even though we're not gonna see
- 6:30Speaker 1: Da Prescott suoting up for this week's game, likely not
- 6:33Speaker 1: suiting up against the Eagles, Cooper Rush likely going to
- 6:36Speaker 1: be the starter against the Eagles defense have been playing
- 6:38Speaker 1: pretty well since their bye week, since Week six. R
- 6:42Speaker 1: J and I wonder, from like a backup quarterback standpoint,
- 6:45Speaker 1: you know, Cooper Rush, He's been around the block a
- 6:47Speaker 1: few times seventh season in the NFL, and you know
- 6:51Speaker 1: he's not the worst backup quarterback by any stretch of
- 6:54Speaker 1: the imagination. I'm not sure how far he's gonna be
- 6:57Speaker 1: able to take this Dallas Cowboys offense even after the
- 6:59Speaker 1: Eagles game, But how do you expect him perform to
- 7:03Speaker 1: perform this week just kind of given the obstacles and
- 7:06Speaker 1: challenges that this team has in front of them.
- 7:09Speaker 2: Yeah, Cooper's had a really interesting career with the Cowboys.
- 7:13Speaker 2: For anyone, you know, an Eagles fan who doesn't know
- 7:15Speaker 2: you somewhat have Cooper Rush to thank for. Kellen Moore
- 7:18Speaker 2: being an NFL coach. In twenty seventeen, Cooper was an
- 7:22Speaker 2: undrafted free agent at es Central, Michigan and beat out
- 7:24Speaker 2: Kellen who was Dak Prescott's primary backup quarterback at the time,
- 7:28Speaker 2: and really kind of pushed Kellen off of the team,
- 7:31Speaker 2: and that led to him becoming the team's quarterbacks coach
- 7:34Speaker 2: and offensive coordinator and obviously everything since then. And so
- 7:37Speaker 2: I really you know, when Mike McCarthy took over this
- 7:39Speaker 2: team in twenty twenty, they did not bring Cooper rush back,
- 7:43Speaker 2: and he, like a lot of players do, followed his
- 7:45Speaker 2: former head coach and joined Jason Garrett with the New
- 7:47Speaker 2: York Giants, and things didn't work out there, and Dak
- 7:50Speaker 2: Prescott got hurt and missed most of that year and
- 7:52Speaker 2: all that stuff, but Cooper did return, and I really
- 7:56Speaker 2: was so critical of that move because it felt so lazy.
- 7:59Speaker 2: You're right that the Eagles have always invested in the
- 8:02Speaker 2: backup quarterback position and the Cowboys have. You know, it's
- 8:05Speaker 2: a little bit more extensive now, but in recent history
- 8:07Speaker 2: lost multiple seasons to their starting quarterback getting injured and
- 8:11Speaker 2: lost for the year in twenty ten, Tony Romo in
- 8:14Speaker 2: twenty fifteen, Tony Romo. Obviously in twenty twenty Dak Prescott,
- 8:17Speaker 2: and they were never equipped, they never learned that lesson,
- 8:20Speaker 2: and so I felt like going with Cooper was just
- 8:23Speaker 2: more of the same. It was just a point of
- 8:24Speaker 2: convenience for them. He did start a single game in
- 8:27Speaker 2: twenty twenty one that was on Sunday Night Football, and
- 8:30Speaker 2: he hit Amari Cooper for the game winning touchdown, and
- 8:32Speaker 2: everybody had fun with that. But then in twenty twenty two,
- 8:35Speaker 2: which was a similar offseason to this past when where
- 8:37Speaker 2: you know, the Cowboys did nothing and got worse, Dak
- 8:39Speaker 2: Prescott hurt his thumb and the season opener and everybody thought,
- 8:41Speaker 2: that's all she wrote for this Cowboys team. But lower
- 8:44Speaker 2: and behold Cooper Rush. I mean, he is the peak
- 8:47Speaker 2: kind of bus driver. But the reason that worked, the
- 8:51Speaker 2: reason the Cowboys went four and one in that stretch,
- 8:53Speaker 2: that loan loss obviously coming to the Philadelphia Eagles, was
- 8:56Speaker 2: because they had maybe the best defense in the NFL
- 8:59Speaker 2: and they don't have that luxury right now. So there's
- 9:04Speaker 2: a lot of Cowboys fans who want to see Trey
- 9:05Speaker 2: Lance because why not at this point, and you paid
- 9:08Speaker 2: the draft pick, I mean, you might as well. I mean,
- 9:10Speaker 2: he's in a contractor as well. But I have really
- 9:13Speaker 2: it's not about Cooper at all, but I have very
- 9:15Speaker 2: little faith in this operation with him under center.
- 9:17Speaker 1: All right, Well, I did want to move on to
- 9:19Speaker 1: another aspect of this offense that you know, you mentioned
- 9:22Speaker 1: during the offseason that you know, certain aspects of this
- 9:25Speaker 1: team just weren't addressed by the Dallas Cowboys in the
- 9:28Speaker 1: offensive line. I mean, to an extent it was. I mean,
- 9:31Speaker 1: you've got some brand new faces on that offensive line
- 9:34Speaker 1: this year, but it just hasn't been producing like it
- 9:37Speaker 1: has in previous years. They're not an elite offensive line anymore.
- 9:41Speaker 1: There are new faces meshed with some old faces. I mean,
- 9:45Speaker 1: we talked about a number of times on this podcast
- 9:47Speaker 1: even and I've talked about it with you, r Jay.
- 9:50Speaker 1: If the offensive line isn't stable with any NFL team,
- 9:52Speaker 1: I mean, you're not going to have major offensive issues.
- 9:56Speaker 1: You're not going to be able to move the ball
- 9:57Speaker 1: down the field if you don't have a solid and
- 9:59Speaker 1: stable offensive line. So what are your thoughts about where
- 10:02Speaker 1: the Cowboys offensive line is at heading into Week ten? Here?
- 10:06Speaker 2: Yeah, this is one that I'm much slower to criticize
- 10:09Speaker 2: them for I kind of agree with the hard reset
- 10:12Speaker 2: approach that they took. I mean, it's unfortunate anytime you
- 10:14Speaker 2: have to let somebody like Tyrone Smith walk. Yeah, but
- 10:17Speaker 2: and I certainly would have understood if they wanted to
- 10:19Speaker 2: bring him back. The totality of the lack of moves
- 10:22Speaker 2: was really what made not bringing Tyrone back feel like
- 10:25Speaker 2: a much bigger deal. And letting Tyler Biattish go to
- 10:28Speaker 2: Washington obviously kind of made sense. And you can understand
- 10:31Speaker 2: it in a vacuum. And so from the moment when
- 10:34Speaker 2: they drafted Tyler guid and everybody wanted him to start.
- 10:37Speaker 2: But I think that when Tyler Smith was forced to
- 10:38Speaker 2: play left tackle two years ago, he did so so
- 10:41Speaker 2: seamlessly and so easily that you know, at least I
- 10:44Speaker 2: cautioned people like, hey, this is not normal for this
- 10:47Speaker 2: dude to just come in and be an amazing or
- 10:50Speaker 2: at least serviceable NFL left tackle. And that hasn't been
- 10:53Speaker 2: the case for Tyler Guiden. And they moved on at
- 10:55Speaker 2: centat to Cooper Bebe, who they picked up in their
- 10:58Speaker 2: trade back that draft pick obviously with the Detroit Lions
- 11:00Speaker 2: in the first round, where they took guid and so
- 11:02Speaker 2: it kind of made sense to try to go at
- 11:04Speaker 2: this and try to, let you know, sort of baptism
- 11:06Speaker 2: by fire, the whole approach and whole new unit, because
- 11:08Speaker 2: it is very different. But I think that that's why
- 11:12Speaker 2: you probably wanted to supplement the rest of the roster
- 11:14Speaker 2: to help make up for that. Now things have gotten
- 11:16Speaker 2: you know, are gone more poorly than I think anybody
- 11:19Speaker 2: would have envisioned. Tyler Gudin's kind of bad. I think
- 11:21Speaker 2: everybody expected him to be just moderate, you know, sort
- 11:23Speaker 2: of average, but so that's not great, and Zach Martin
- 11:26Speaker 2: has fallen off, and it's just I mean, it's it
- 11:29Speaker 2: is devastating. I mean, I mentioned the mcmahondock. It's like
- 11:31Speaker 2: watching hul Kogan, like you know in the latter days.
- 11:33Speaker 2: It's like this, this is not the same person, right, yeah,
- 11:37Speaker 2: and it's it's just difficult to kind of watch him.
- 11:40Speaker 2: I mean, he's he's one of the biggest weaknesses on
- 11:43Speaker 2: the team right now. And so that happening in Paleo,
- 11:45Speaker 2: with all of it, just has made the group more
- 11:48Speaker 2: volatile than even predicted.
- 11:50Speaker 1: I think it's going to be interesting to see what
- 11:51Speaker 1: this Cowboys offensive line does against the Eagles defense that,
- 11:54Speaker 1: like I mentioned earlier, since Week six, has really ramped
- 11:57Speaker 1: it up in terms of pressure even in terms of
- 11:59Speaker 1: set as well. But I do want to shift over
- 12:02Speaker 1: to the Dallas Cowboys defense because they also, you know,
- 12:06Speaker 1: they have not gotten much pressure on opposing quarterbacks much
- 12:10Speaker 1: at all since losing Michael Parsons, especially DeMarcus Lawrence as well.
- 12:14Speaker 1: They're going to be up against a pretty solid Eagles
- 12:18Speaker 1: offensive line another you know, makeshift I call it. I
- 12:21Speaker 1: shouldn't call it a makeshift offensive line, but US Eagles
- 12:24Speaker 1: fans we had a lot of concern, quite frankly, having
- 12:27Speaker 1: a brand new right guard. You've had Jason Kelce there
- 12:31Speaker 1: for how many years? And you have a brand new center.
- 12:34Speaker 1: How is everything going to mesh from the center right
- 12:38Speaker 1: side of that line? They seem to be meshing pretty
- 12:40Speaker 1: well at this point, So I'm wondering, how might the Cowboys,
- 12:43Speaker 1: from what you've seen over the past couple of weeks here, RJ,
- 12:46Speaker 1: really try to make Jalen Hurts uncomfortable in the pocket.
- 12:49Speaker 1: What are your thoughts here?
- 12:51Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean it's tough. You know, regression was always
- 12:54Speaker 2: coming for this team, and you didn't mention Dan Quinn.
- 12:57Speaker 2: Obviously that's kind of the biggest adjustments in facing Yeah,
- 13:01Speaker 2: and you know, after the twenty twenty one season when
- 13:03Speaker 2: Trayvon Diggs had all those interceptions, and I said this
- 13:06Speaker 2: for two years in a row, I said, there's no
- 13:08Speaker 2: way they're going to be able to generate as many
- 13:09Speaker 2: turnovers or as many sacks or things like that, and
- 13:11Speaker 2: they continued to be the exception to the rule. I mean,
- 13:14Speaker 2: this extreme exception among exceptions. So I think we're seeing
- 13:18Speaker 2: regression to the mean as part of this whole situation. Obviously,
- 13:21Speaker 2: the injuries don't help. I don't know at this moment
- 13:24Speaker 2: if Micah is going to play. He did shortly before
- 13:27Speaker 2: we started recording tweet out the gift of Bobby Bouchet
- 13:31Speaker 2: coming in at halftime of the Bourbon Bowl, which which
- 13:35Speaker 2: kind of, you know, at least makes it seem like
- 13:37Speaker 2: he's coming back. But even then, I mean, Micah just
- 13:40Speaker 2: hasn't been a force this year, and obviously he's missed time.
- 13:42Speaker 2: But some of that is the lack of you know,
- 13:46Speaker 2: weaponry around him, and some of that is that, I mean,
- 13:49Speaker 2: what a what a shock The defensive coordinator the Cowboys hired,
- 13:51Speaker 2: who hadn't been in the NFL for multiple years, didn't
- 13:54Speaker 2: come in and completely, you know, revolutionize things. Yeah, so
- 13:57Speaker 2: I was never in on the Mike zimmer Higher. I
- 13:59Speaker 2: hate to like reverse brag that way, but they're just,
- 14:02Speaker 2: I mean, they're running through mud right now, and I
- 14:04Speaker 2: fully expect this Eagles team to just kind of bullied
- 14:07Speaker 2: him and push them around on offense.
- 14:08Speaker 1: I love Michael Parsons as you know, you know, being
- 14:11Speaker 1: a Penn State guy, and I mean it wasn't planned
- 14:14Speaker 1: on asking you this, but just this season when he
- 14:17Speaker 1: was playing, there seemed to be a lack of fire
- 14:20Speaker 1: perhaps you know, under him, not what we have seen
- 14:24Speaker 1: in previous years. And I do wonder if that has
- 14:27Speaker 1: to do with some of the behind the scenes issues
- 14:28Speaker 1: that are going on and those storylines, behind the scenes,
- 14:31Speaker 1: the front office, atmosphere and environment. I wonder if that
- 14:36Speaker 1: has actually played a part in not certainly not him
- 14:41Speaker 1: being injured, but when he was on the field, maybe
- 14:43Speaker 1: that lack of fire in a way, I don't know,
- 14:44Speaker 1: I don't know if you saw that, and maybe that's
- 14:46Speaker 1: potentially why Michael Parsons wasn't necessarily just completely dominating coming
- 14:51Speaker 1: out of the gate this year. I don't know what
- 14:52Speaker 1: are your thoughts.
- 14:54Speaker 2: I think that Micah has been so unique and I
- 14:57Speaker 2: don't know that we've ever seen a player have you know,
- 15:00Speaker 2: three years to start their career for the Cowboys and
- 15:03Speaker 2: you know, throughout the drought, which is an extreme amount
- 15:06Speaker 2: of time. But and I found it interesting that he
- 15:09Speaker 2: didn't hold out. Yeah, I mean as far as contributions,
- 15:13Speaker 2: you know, to that point in their careers, he had
- 15:15Speaker 2: more of a right to hold I think anybody had
- 15:16Speaker 2: a right, but he had more you know, the right
- 15:19Speaker 2: among Cedlam even or Dak Prescott to do so. And
- 15:21Speaker 2: he could have made things very difficult for the Cowboys,
- 15:23Speaker 2: but he didn't, which you know, I don't want to
- 15:25Speaker 2: say I commend him for because I don't want it
- 15:27Speaker 2: to sound like I think it was wrong of CD
- 15:29Speaker 2: to hold out or whatever. But they were very very
- 15:31Speaker 2: fortunate that he didn't. I do think though, that Micah
- 15:34Speaker 2: is he's such a you know, an electric personality. I
- 15:37Speaker 2: think that you know, it's year four, right, like you know,
- 15:41Speaker 2: nothing is new anymore, Like you know, it's all You've
- 15:44Speaker 2: gone through the process so many times and everyone's hating
- 15:47Speaker 2: on you and whatnot. And I don't have an issue
- 15:48Speaker 2: with his podcasting or anything like that, but a lot
- 15:50Speaker 2: of people do, and he he has kind of warned
- 15:54Speaker 2: people out in that sense. You know, the Cowboys got
- 15:57Speaker 2: blown out by the forty nine ers in that game. Obviously,
- 16:00Speaker 2: Trayvon Diggs had an interaction with a local reporter afterwards
- 16:04Speaker 2: and a day later and Trayvon did apologize. But a
- 16:06Speaker 2: day later, Trayvon and Micah are on his podcast talking
- 16:09Speaker 2: about it, and it's just yeah, I mean, it's just
- 16:11Speaker 2: warned people out. And again I don't fault Micah for that,
- 16:14Speaker 2: but I do think I think it's just time, you know,
- 16:17Speaker 2: like it's you know, like again to kind of go
- 16:20Speaker 2: back to wrestling. I think at a certain point you're like,
- 16:22Speaker 2: oh he hit him with the cher again. Cool, you know,
- 16:25Speaker 2: like it's you're seeing all the moves at this point
- 16:28Speaker 2: in time, and so it just, you know, that's life exactly.
- 16:30Speaker 1: He needs to get thrown off a hell in the
- 16:32Speaker 1: cell like one minute exactly right right. Well, as we're
- 16:36Speaker 1: moving along here, folks, again, we're talking Rjohoa from bloggintheboys
- 16:40Speaker 1: dot com at Rjohoa on the Twitter slash x, and
- 16:43Speaker 1: I wanted to get into some matchups with you here
- 16:46Speaker 1: as we're looking at this week ten matchup against Philadelphia Eagles.
- 16:50Speaker 1: So I'm one of biggest concerns both on offense and defense. Here.
- 16:53Speaker 1: Let's start on the offense. Biggest concern with any of
- 16:56Speaker 1: the Cowboys offensive matchups against the Eagle defense? Do you
- 17:01Speaker 1: have any here?
- 17:02Speaker 2: I mean, I'm worried about everything, And to be clear,
- 17:06Speaker 2: I'm not worried in that I have any sort of
- 17:08Speaker 2: emotion tied to this game, like I'm comatose, you.
- 17:11Speaker 1: Know what I mean. But you're purgatory too exactly.
- 17:15Speaker 2: But I just don't you know, you use the word
- 17:18Speaker 2: matchup and use the word fear and concern. I was
- 17:20Speaker 2: I was kind of mentally laughing at the idea of like,
- 17:22Speaker 2: I don't know who would concern you.
- 17:24Speaker 1: I really don't.
- 17:25Speaker 2: And I don't know if cde Lam's going to play
- 17:26Speaker 2: in this game. If if I were in charge, he wouldn't.
- 17:29Speaker 2: And the Cowboys did just trade for Jonathan Mingo, so
- 17:32Speaker 2: I don't know if he's going to play this game.
- 17:33Speaker 2: But I mean, again, what what is keeping you up
- 17:37Speaker 2: at night this week? Especially if we presume that CEEDE.
- 17:40Speaker 2: Lamb's not going to play, Like there cannot be a
- 17:41Speaker 2: single thing on this offense. They are one of the
- 17:44Speaker 2: worst offenses in the NFL. They have the worst running
- 17:47Speaker 2: game in the NFL. Dak Prescott win healthy obviously this
- 17:51Speaker 2: season has been playing like the worst version of himself.
- 17:53Speaker 2: So I mean, maybe Jalen Tolbert will have a nice catch.
- 17:59Speaker 2: That's kind of I hate to be so you know,
- 18:03Speaker 2: you know e or about it, but it's been that way.
- 18:06Speaker 2: I mean, they have really really struggled to score points
- 18:09Speaker 2: for way more often of this season than they haven't
- 18:12Speaker 2: and that's just kind of the reality of it.
- 18:14Speaker 1: Like I said, starting off our conversation, the disappointment and
- 18:17Speaker 1: the irritation that you have tell by your tweets, other
- 18:20Speaker 1: Cowboys fans tweets and communication as well. I mean that
- 18:23Speaker 1: disappointment is certainly there. But do you have any concerns
- 18:27Speaker 1: with any of the Cowboys defensive matchups against the Eagles offense?
- 18:31Speaker 1: Because we may not have AJ Braws of us recording
- 18:33Speaker 1: this now N one hundred percent sure if A J.
- 18:35Speaker 1: Brown is going to be playing, But is there any
- 18:38Speaker 1: concerns with the Cowboys defensive matchups against the Eagles offense?
- 18:43Speaker 2: I think that Philly has the edge everywhere again, you know,
- 18:47Speaker 2: not to be dramatic or exaggerator or be silly or sarcastic,
- 18:50Speaker 2: but I tell my concern is probably more long term
- 18:54Speaker 2: in that I kind of thought DeVante would would maybe
- 18:58Speaker 2: not reach like peak form for an NFL wide receiver. Yeah,
- 19:02Speaker 2: and I feel like he's going to now and I'm
- 19:04Speaker 2: very And it was never like a lack of faith
- 19:06Speaker 2: or lack of whatever. I just thought, there's no way
- 19:08Speaker 2: that this can all work together. And that's the Saquon
- 19:12Speaker 2: thing has worked out. I mean, like it it feels fortuitous.
- 19:15Speaker 2: I know that's not a common emotion for Eagles fans,
- 19:18Speaker 2: but the Davante touchdown that the kind of ice the
- 19:21Speaker 2: game last week against Jacksonville was absurd, I mean, like crazy,
- 19:24Speaker 2: it was amazing. And it bothers me that I don't
- 19:28Speaker 2: even have the like emotion or energy to like make
- 19:31Speaker 2: up things to troll about this, Like they're just an
- 19:33Speaker 2: impressive football team, and I really, you know, I would
- 19:37Speaker 2: be stunned if any one of them loses a single
- 19:39Speaker 2: rep against this now, because this Cowboys team is now
- 19:41Speaker 2: on the verge of kind of quitting. I mean, they
- 19:44Speaker 2: haven't won a game in their home building, you know,
- 19:46Speaker 2: since beating the Lions last year in that controversial ending
- 19:50Speaker 2: and whatnot. Yeah, so they're one of two teams that
- 19:53Speaker 2: have not won a game at home this year, with
- 19:54Speaker 2: the other one being the New York Giants.
- 19:55Speaker 1: All Right, I'm thinking Saquan is probably gonna have at
- 19:58Speaker 1: LEAs one hundred and forty yards on the ground this week.
- 20:00Speaker 1: I was thinking, I don't.
- 20:01Speaker 2: I would only push back because I think that you know,
- 20:03Speaker 2: it's going to be like twenty three to nothing, you know,
- 20:05Speaker 2: in the blink of an eye, and it'll be like, hey,
- 20:08Speaker 2: Tae Kwon, you know what, take this week off me right,
- 20:10Speaker 2: you got your seventy three yards. It's I know it's
- 20:12Speaker 2: a tough day to not get to one hundred nixt
- 20:13Speaker 2: three and you'll have that speech on this island again.
- 20:15Speaker 2: But yeah, it'll be fine, You'll all right.
- 20:18Speaker 1: Sounds good? Well, two part question. I always ask our
- 20:21Speaker 1: opposition territory guests as we wrap up every single week,
- 20:27Speaker 1: a sneaky player for us to look at on offense
- 20:30Speaker 1: and defense for the opposing team here. So I'm not
- 20:33Speaker 1: sure what your answers are going to be here, but
- 20:35Speaker 1: a sneaky player for us to look out for on
- 20:37Speaker 1: the Cowboys offense this week. I mean, is it going
- 20:40Speaker 1: to be Joe and Tolbert? Perhaps he may have a
- 20:42Speaker 1: good catch.
- 20:44Speaker 2: He may not be widely or nationally known because the
- 20:47Speaker 2: Cowboys have been such an afterthought this year. But but
- 20:49Speaker 2: Rico Dadell is their best running back. Now now he's not.
- 20:53Speaker 2: I mean, I don't know that he's a top thirteen
- 20:56Speaker 2: fourteen running back in the NFL. But the dude is
- 20:59Speaker 2: avag jing over five yards of carry, which is you know,
- 21:02Speaker 2: the fact that they want to give z touches ahead
- 21:04Speaker 2: of him at any point it's just preposterous. But but
- 21:08Speaker 2: so's he's the only kind of real option they have,
- 21:11Speaker 2: so he would be the one not to jump the shark.
- 21:14Speaker 2: But on defense, we haven't. We haven't mentioned him. But
- 21:17Speaker 2: if they have one bride spot, it's the Marvion Overshown
- 21:19Speaker 2: who they took in the third round last year out
- 21:21Speaker 2: of Texas. He has really kind of turned into exactly
- 21:24Speaker 2: who they wanted him to be. The fact that it's
- 21:26Speaker 2: happening in such a last year, it's just unfortunate.
- 21:28Speaker 1: All right, folks. R j Ochoa from Bloggingtheboys dot Com
- 21:31Speaker 1: at r j Ochoa and uh it was a great
- 21:34Speaker 1: talking to you, buddy, And seriously, you're down in the dumps.
- 21:38Speaker 1: You know. I hate to see it. In all seriousness,
- 21:41Speaker 1: I do. You're so great to come on this podcast.
- 21:43Speaker 1: But I hope, I hope it's a good game. I
- 21:45Speaker 1: hope it's a good game. Come back join us down
- 21:48Speaker 1: the road. I'd love to talk more Cowboys, Eagles, and NFC.
