- 0:03I bless your family, God bless you. Welcome back to the Morning DeVos.
- 0:06You Bro Sam Lopez aka DJ Sam Rock, and we're here in the
- 0:09Morning Devo. Apologize for a little delay here in the beginning, but my
- 0:14system was acting real slow and sluggish, amen, And I didn't want to
- 0:18catch that vibe being slow and sluggish, So I said, let me fight
- 0:21this through and let me get on the air and let me just do what
- 0:24I gotta do during the live to get to shared on my website. So
- 0:29God bless you man. Today we're going to talk about a power that you
- 0:33and I can really use daily that you might have overlooked. Right. One
- 0:40of the characteristics of God is what we're gonna be talking about today. And
- 0:45when you use this characteristic of God in your own life, in your personal
- 0:49life, and you publicly display this characteristic, you're gonna be using the power
- 0:55of kindness. Kindness has tremendous power. Right. The Bible says that a
- 1:02kind word, right, a soft spoken word, turns away wrath. Amen.
- 1:08So we have the power to change the situation in your life right now
- 1:15by using the power of kindness. Kindness, Like people forget that as believers
- 1:21we're supposed to be them, people that are kind, kind hearted, well
- 1:26mannered and all that. Now we fail at certain parts of that. Don't
- 1:30stress out because we do have a flesh side of our lives. We still
- 1:34live in a broken world, but we could still use the power of kindness
- 1:38to settle some matters in our lives once and for all. And that's the
- 1:42characteristic, one of the characteristics of God. I hope people understand that's not
- 1:47only a loving, holy, righteous God, He's also a kind God.
- 1:52Amen. So God is everything good, and kindness is one of those good
- 1:57things that he shows us in his word that he is and that we could
- 2:00yield as a sword a weapon of love. Amen. So what do you
- 2:08think it means to be kind to one another? I know people have It
- 2:14sounds like an easy question, but people have different answers that one question.
- 2:19For whatever reason. Amen. You might say one thing, I might say
- 2:22another. To be kind to someone, some people might say, oh,
- 2:25just you know, say hi, that's being kind, or hug someone that's
- 2:30being kind, Listen to someone that's being kind, open the door for someone
- 2:34that's being kind. But what do you think it means to be kind to
- 2:38one another? Remember? We have a relationship that's vertical, Man and God,
- 2:45God and Man, that's a vertical relationship that we have to nurture every
- 2:47day and make sure we're right. And then we have the horizontal. Right,
- 2:53the horizontal means my neighbor, you, us together to be kind towards
- 2:58one another. So that way that out side world, people who are outside
- 3:01of the kingdom will look at us and be like, why are they so
- 3:05kind to one another? Because we're showing and demonstrating the kindness of God,
- 3:08which is the character one of the characteristics of God towards one another. Right.
- 3:14It sounds oversimplified, but it is that simple to show and demonstrate one
- 3:17of the characteristics of God by being kind. So the power kindness today in
- 3:22the morning DeVos. Sister Joanne, good morning, God bless you. I'll
- 3:24see you. Good morning, brothers Sam, God blessed it this day.
- 3:29God bless you as well. Over on Facebook, We're gonna be an Ephesians
- 3:32chapter four, Verses thirty one and thirty two. Ephesians four Versus thirty one
- 3:38and thirty two. The power of kindness on the morning, Devo. Yeah,
- 3:44don't overlook this power that we have. Amen, And to some it
- 3:49comes naturally. You know. Some people are you know, just kind kind
- 3:53people. Other people we have to work on this, including myself, to
- 3:57be kind, believe it or not. Amen. Sometimes I'll be in a
- 4:02situation where I know I need to be kind hearted, and I struggle to
- 4:06be kind hearted cerferent situations. For whatever reason. Some people have different ways
- 4:12of expression expressing themselves, and men have to be mindful of that. Not
- 4:16everybody's going to have a good day, Not everybody's going to have a good
- 4:18start of the day. Not every day is going to be a good day
- 4:21on this side of eternity. But every day that God created. As a
- 4:25believer, we could rejoice and be glad in the day that God created,
- 4:29because one day, one more day that God allows us to breathe, is
- 4:32one more day that we are able to reach somebody with the kindness of God.
- 4:36Amen. By the way, the kindness of God is what leads people
- 4:40to repent. Not the shouting, not the rudeness, and not the pointing
- 4:45fingers, not the judgment, but the kindness of God leads men and women
- 4:48to repent, to turn from their wicked ways and turn to the righteousness of
- 4:53God to stop what they're doing. Ponder what they're doing, and see what
- 4:57they're doing, and stop right there at that moment and turn to a living,
- 5:00holy, loving God who could save them, rescue them, forgive them,
- 5:03and give them this power of kindness as well. Right, So let's
- 5:08go for it. Let's pray. After we pray, we'll shut this out
- 5:10for like sixty seconds. If you have any questions, comments, concerns,
- 5:14pray requests, now's the time. Don't hesitate to do it while we're live.
- 5:17It's good even when I'm not live. If something comes to your heart
- 5:20and mind and you're watching this as a replay or you're listening as a replay,
- 5:25you could always put your comment there as well. So, Father,
- 5:30I thank you so much that you have shown us, showed us your kindness,
- 5:34that while we will still hate us of a living holy God, we
- 5:39still hate us one time, you still die for us regardless. You know
- 5:43us inside it out, you know what's through and through, and you love
- 5:46us anyway. I pray, Love God, that this kindness will resemble your
- 5:51love and your grace and your mercy as we show kindness towards others and towards
- 5:55one another, especially those who are in the household of faith. Pray Lord
- 6:00God, a hedge of love, a hedge of protection. I pray Lord
- 6:02God, that you would form and fashion us to love the way you love,
- 6:06to see the way you see, to hear the way you hear,
- 6:09and to speak the way you spoke your word. So I pray Lord God
- 6:14a reset that we will restart. Our attitude would be like your attitude.
- 6:19The kindness of God will be a power that we can use daily as a
- 6:24weapon of love. I pray Love God over my mind, physically, emotionally
- 6:29and spiritually, over every single mindset on the other side of the screen,
- 6:31other side of this MC, that you would fill us continuously with your kindness,
- 6:35your love, your grace, and your mercy, so that way we
- 6:39could share that with others who desperately need a touch of the kindness of God.
- 6:45I pray this by faith, knowing that you are able to do exactly
- 6:47what your word says we can do in it and through it. And I
- 6:50thank you, Lo God for saving us, rescuing us. And I pray
- 6:53for every single person who is not saved or who is almost there, who
- 6:57is right there at the door, that you lo God, by the way
- 7:00of your Holy Spirit will draw them close to you. In the name of
- 7:03Jesus, I pray this about faith, Amen and Amen, So let's go
- 7:06for it. Kindness is a spirit that you will have to expand a little
- 7:15bit on spirit of kindness surely for me. So what do you mean by
- 7:21that? Kindness is a spirit? God is spirit, right, and kindness
- 7:28is a characteristic of God. So we might have to get a little deeper
- 7:30on that one. So let's take a minute to share this out sixty seconds.
- 7:34When we come back, we'll get right into the verse that we have
- 7:38today for our morning devo. It's Ephesians, chapter number four, verses thirty
- 7:43one and thirty two. I'll be right back, Amen. Amen, Amen,
- 9:03Let's look at this power of kindness. According to the scripture. Amen,
- 9:07Okay, here we go, kindness is one of the fruit of the
- 9:13spirit. So there's nine, right, suffering. We have to look at
- 9:20that, right, We have to look at that. If that's one of
- 9:24the fruit of the spirit, A man is nine. I know there's nine,
- 9:28but I just can't get the scripture in my head right now. My
- 9:31mind is being focused on what we're gonna do today. Amen. See if
- 9:37you can find the nine fruit of the Spirit. I say fruits, right,
- 9:43the nine. I know there's nine food of the spirit. And then
- 9:48get to that scripture and let's see if kindness is on that list. Probably
- 9:52is right now since I'm focused on the power kindness. Amen, I can't
- 9:56think of it right now. But thank you though for your ontreen and man
- 10:01for those who are just listening, thank you so much for listening. So
- 10:05when it's with a z RG Celeby of Network the podcast, thank you so
- 10:09much for coming through. We welcome you here. I welcome you here.
- 10:13Amen. Every day that you're with us, Amen, it's a day closer
- 10:16onto getting involved with the Kingdom of God. Right, and to apply this
- 10:22word daily in our lives, and it will really help you stay focused on
- 10:26the purpose and plan that God has for us. Right, it has for
- 10:30you, it has for me. So the kind of the power of kindness.
- 10:33Amen, stay in the morning Devo. Ephesians four thirty one and thirty
- 10:39two. Let all bitterness, all of it, and wrath and anger and
- 10:45clamor and slander be put away from you. So God is dealing with us,
- 10:50and our bitterness, our anger, our wrath, clamor slander be put
- 10:56away from you. Along with all malice. So, in other words,
- 11:01since God freed us, and since God cleansed us from all wickedness and all
- 11:05on righteousness, we need to write put it all away, along with all
- 11:13malice. Be kind to one another, Amen, It's a commandment. Every
- 11:18time I see b like b e the word, I believe it's a commandment.
- 11:24When God tells us to be something, be kind to one another,
- 11:28tender hearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. You
- 11:33ever thought about that? I mean, I would have a lot of nerve
- 11:37to walk around in unforgiveness right, knowing that God forgave me. The Bible
- 11:45actually says if you don't forgive God, God won't forgive Amen. If we
- 11:50don't forgive somebody else, God won't forgive us. We're still trapped in our
- 11:54prison of unforgiveness. Unforgiveness to a believer and to anybody actually is actually cancer
- 12:01to the souls, cancer to your soul. When you walking around with unforgiveness,
- 12:07it's like trying to hear someone poison right and drinking in yourself and expecting
- 12:13the other person to get sick and die. When you walk around with unforgiveness,
- 12:18you're actually drinking your own poison, poison that's set out there, and
- 12:22you are actually the one that's going to get sick and die, not the
- 12:26other person. So that's why I believe the apostle Paor inspired by Holy Spirit,
- 12:31is telling us to get rid of all of that stuff that we carried
- 12:35before God changed us. Be kind to one another. Kindness is powerful,
- 12:41man. The power of kindness should not be overlooked. Right, the kindness
- 12:46of God should not be overlooked. Oh, thank you, I see it.
- 12:48Love, joy, peace, long suffering, kindness. There it is
- 12:50right there, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self control. Thank you
- 12:56so much. Heymen, I couldn't think of all the nine and I couldn't
- 13:00think I forgot that kindness was on that list. Thank you. Let all
- 13:03bitterness and wrath and anger and clamor and slam to be put away from you
- 13:07along with all malice. Be kind to one another. Amen. Highlight that
- 13:13word be kind Those two words be kindness commandment. You know, God is
- 13:18kind to us, right and also tender hearted forgiving one another as God in
- 13:24Christ forgave you today. That keeps us humble, and it keeps us knowing
- 13:28that wait a minute after walking forgiveness, after walking in the power of kindness.
- 13:33Because God himself is kind to us and forgave us, it keeps everything
- 13:37humble. Right, we can't walk around and say I'm better than that person,
- 13:39I'm better than this person. You're right. We all need the kindness
- 13:43of God daily. The forgiveness of God's already given by way of Holy Spirit,
- 13:48by way of God through Jesus, Amen. And we have everything we
- 13:52need to live this life out. So we can't go around thinking that we
- 13:56are better or we're in a better position than a lot of people who don't
- 14:00have Christ in their hearts. Because now we know what life means. Now
- 14:03we know where we came from. Now we know what morality is all about,
- 14:07what's right and what's wrong, and who dictates what's right and what's wrong
- 14:11right, Who oversees that. We know that God oversees what's right and what's
- 14:13wrong, what's good and what's evil, what's lighting, what's dark right?
- 14:16And also our destiny, what happens after we die, where do we go?
- 14:22And a lot of people accuse Christians of filling in the gaps, they
- 14:24call it the God gap. Right, we're filling in something that we don't
- 14:30know about, but we actually do know about it because the scriptures talks about
- 14:33it. The problem is a lot of people don't believe in our scriptures as
- 14:37being the word of God, so they discount or they got out of their
- 14:41vocabulary and they said, nah, that's just you know, wishful thinking.
- 14:46But God's word is more than wishful thinking. God's word is true. God's
- 14:48word is relevant. God's word is powerful. And when we use his character
- 14:54Amen in the form of kindness, people can't deny that something happened in our
- 15:00lives and something that will happen to you. So what do you think it
- 15:01means to be kind to one another? You can answer that at any time
- 15:05during this morning devo. What does it really mean to be kind? Is
- 15:11a website called Inspire Kindness dot com. Inspire Kindness dot com. They say
- 15:16that kindness can mean different things to different people. The meaning is in how
- 15:22you choose to show it through empathy, acceptance, kind gestures. We spoke
- 15:30about this in the beginning thoughtfulness. The possibilities are entirely up to you and
- 15:37up to me how to show this kindness. Kindness might look like being helpful
- 15:41or showing empathy. It may mean doing nice things without expecting nice things in
- 15:48return. I just I was talking to a young man last night and he
- 15:52said, you know, I'm kind hearted. I do things not expecting anything
- 15:56in return. And I said, wow, that was last night. I
- 16:00said wow. Today's morning Devo is talking about the power of kindness. That's
- 16:04powerful when you have that type of attitude, being kind to people just because
- 16:10you want to be you chose to be right. You're inspired by Holy Spirit
- 16:14to be kind to someone not expecting anything in return. See how that works
- 16:18out. It's a powerful thing to do, especially in a world that's so
- 16:23full of hatred and corrupt or ruptness. People are just looking for people to
- 16:30be kind. People are looking for a smile, People are looking for a
- 16:32hug. People are looking to be heard. Amen, and people are waiting
- 16:37for the sons of God and the daughters of God to rise up. You
- 16:41know what I mean, to rise up to the occasion. Kindness requires action.
- 16:45Yes, you have to do something for someone that normally we would not
- 16:51do for and not expecting anything in return, just to do a good gesture
- 16:56to somebody. You go back to the Bible, we see that kindness is
- 17:00the food of the Spirit. Thank you you reminded me Relationshot five twenty two
- 17:06and twenty three. Thank you so much, because for whatever reason I knew
- 17:10it it was on the list when I didn't want to confirm it without knowing
- 17:14where the scripture was. That means kindness is a characteristic of God. True
- 17:18believers listen closely. True believers exhibit kindness. We demonstrate kindness as evidence,
- 17:26right, as evidence of the Holy Spirit's work in our lives. Right.
- 17:33It's strange to me how some believers that you see out there just put it
- 17:37like that, walking around like they have a chip on the show all the
- 17:41time, walking around like they're always angry, walking around like it's always a
- 17:45bad day. And you're looking at them and say, you have you have
- 17:48Holy Spirit in you, and you have Christ as your savior, and you
- 17:52have the scriptures that you could demonstrate daily, and you're walking around like that
- 17:56with a face and judging everybody. I don't know. Religion doesn't fulfill anything.
- 18:02In my opinion. Religion is just something that keeps man in their ignorance
- 18:07and man and their pride. But the gospel message God coming to man,
- 18:11not man trying to get to God. Man trying to get to God's religion.
- 18:15God coming to man is the Gospel a man. It's a big difference
- 18:19between religion and a relationship with the Lord. Amen. So if that's you
- 18:25fix your face, let's change our attitude. Because the kindness that God displayed
- 18:30to us, and then it comes to us angrily, it came to us
- 18:33kind God is still a gentle spirit. He's all knowing, all powerful God
- 18:37who comes still in the gentle spirit. Right, the wrath of God will
- 18:42be upon every single person who does not have Christ. The wrath of God
- 18:47comes upon every single person who rejects the Gospel. And we know that,
- 18:51and that's a sad situation for those people. Amen. And we pray for
- 18:53people like that. But the kindness of God is what we should be demonstrating,
- 18:59right, So we can fix alitude. Man, we can't be angry
- 19:02all the time. I know there's a lot of things I want to be
- 19:03angry about. But God delivered me from those past angers, right, and
- 19:08he delivered you from those past angers as well, Sister Juanna says. And
- 19:12of the people expect to get a lot of people expect to get paid to
- 19:18do something. Me I don't. I do it out of my heart.
- 19:25I like feeding people and giving them food to other people, saying I do
- 19:30to my sister every time I do something for her, she thinks, she
- 19:36thinks she gotta pay me. She don't have to pay me. I do
- 19:40that out of my heart. Knows that I've been given food to people every
- 19:45day, and I give that out of my heart. Like I like helping
- 19:48people, but sometimes the people like to take advantage. Then they start asking
- 19:55for money. Yeah, so people will try to take advantage of out kindness,
- 19:59just like people try to take advantage of God's grace. So it's none
- 20:03of our business or what they try to take advantage of us is our business
- 20:07to do what sister Joanne said to do. Just be kind out of the
- 20:10kindness of your heart, out of the abundance of your heart. You'll start
- 20:12doing things and then people eventually will stop trying to take advantage of your kindness
- 20:18and my kindness. And a lot of people take kindness for weakness as well.
- 20:22Thank you so much for sharing that, sister Joanne. I reward your
- 20:25assent. And there's people out there that I try to keep spare change and
- 20:30spare money in my car, so that way if I see someone in need,
- 20:33like in the street or whatever, I try to give a man out
- 20:36of kindness, and sometimes I think about, oh, man, what are
- 20:40you going to use that money for? None of my business a man,
- 20:42as long as I did my part and gave and did something kind by the
- 20:47power Holy Spirit in the name of Jesus, and the rest is between them
- 20:51and God. Man. So I released myself from anything like that, and
- 20:56I can't question every single time I do something kind. Thank you to Joanne,
- 21:00Brother Angelo. Later, God bless you. Brother. Some hesitate to
- 21:04be kind because of past negative experiences where someone may have taken advantage of their
- 21:10kindness. My prayer is that any of us who has been hurt would allow
- 21:15the Lord to heal those wounds, and that you would continue to be kind,
- 21:19knowing the Lord will refill your empty cup. Yes, he will.
- 21:23Thank you so much for that comment. God will see what we do out
- 21:29of the kindness of our heart, and he will refill us a man for
- 21:32every single hurt, every single pain, every single person that try to take
- 21:34advantage of our kindness. Remember, the world is not down with this kindness.
- 21:40They don't know the power of kindness yet until they get saved, born
- 21:42again, so they'll take our kindness and think that it's weakness, right,
- 21:48and they'll start try to start taking advantage. And even some people are go
- 21:53to the point of using even the scriptures to fly in our face. Oh,
- 21:57you're supposed to do that. Christians are supposed to be that. You're
- 22:00supposed to If I ask you for something, he's supposed to give it to
- 22:03me. If I slap, you're supposed to turn out the cheek. People
- 22:07get slick with the scriptures, not inspired by the scriptures, but they try
- 22:11to yield the scriptures as an indictment towards us. Amen. But we kind
- 22:15because people don't know yet the power of kindness. They don't know the power
- 22:19of Our Lord, they don't know the power salvation. They're not born again
- 22:22yet. Let's pray that every single person that we meet will get a glimpse
- 22:26of the characteristic of God through the powerkindness. And it's not that hard man,
- 22:32So some people this might be challenging to me. It's not that hard.
- 22:36Only in certain situations it becomes a challenge to me. But for the
- 22:41most part, being kind and watching other people's expression. Somebody is having a
- 22:45bad day, the supermarket and they're pushing carts around and throwing this and throwing
- 22:49that, and you look at them a smile and say, hey, how
- 22:52you doing, or you know something like that. You look at them and
- 22:55it kind of like breaks that that cycle, breaks that attitude, and now
- 22:59they're little curious, is why did that person greet me? Macted and I'm
- 23:03acted like all crazy like this. It's because the power of kindness. Kindness
- 23:07is one of the fruit of the spirit. Thank you so much for reminding
- 23:10me. And also it's the characteristic of God. According to Relations chapter five,
- 23:15we got what we need man to live this life out in righteousness and
- 23:18godliness. It's just that this world is so full of anger and corruptness and
- 23:23just so much going on that we forget that a simple kind word turns away
- 23:29wrath. Amen, And we could use that power. We all describe how
- 23:33Christians are to live now that they have a new life in Christ. Like,
- 23:38once we have this new life, Amen, let's be done with the
- 23:42old and live in the newness of Christ. It's so possible, Amen.
- 23:47And it's evident in the scriptures all throughout the scriptures, where the oldest dead
- 23:51and the new is alive. Right. First, he described how not to
- 23:56Behave you noticed that? Right? A possible said, don't do these things.
- 24:00Don't be bitter, don't be walking around with wrath, anger, clamor,
- 24:04slander and malice. Those behaviors are the opposite of kindness. Think about
- 24:11it. If you're living your life that way, you're actually living on the
- 24:15opposite end of kindness, and you're actually representing your old self. Well,
- 24:22the way they lived before they were followers of Jesus Christ. We're not supposed
- 24:26to be that way no more. There has been a transformation of renewal,
- 24:30right of replacement. All those things that I used to walk around with anger,
- 24:34wrath, slander, clamor, all that stuff was replaced with God's characteristics.
- 24:40Amen. And one of those characteristics that we're looking at today on this
- 24:42one of Devo is the power of kindness. Kindness has power. If you
- 24:47look at a concordance, if you have a nice Bible or study Bible,
- 24:51or you're going into your Bible app and you put the word of kindness,
- 24:55check out what comes up. Man, You'll be amazed. It's the power
- 24:59of God, a man working through a person that believes in God, a
- 25:03man and that kindness will really show up in people's lives in a good way
- 25:07and show that. So I'm out of time. I think, no,
- 25:12it's not enough for another part. But amen, I hope you get the
- 25:15picture. Amen, be kind, Amen, and watch the power of kindness
