- Lucas: Hey, welcome back to Learn Spanish with Fexingo. I'm Lucas. Luna: And I'm Luna! Episode 44. Can you believe it? Lucas: I know. And today we're going to talk about body parts. But not the ones we did in episode 19. That was head and face. Luna: Right. So what are we doing today? Lucas: Arms and legs. Two very useful body parts. In Spanish, arm is el brazo. Say it with me: el brazo. Luna: El brazo. Lucas: Good. And leg is la pierna. La pierna. Luna: La pierna. Lucas: Perfect. Now let's put them in a sentence. Tengo dos brazos. I have two arms. Tengo dos brazos. Luna: Tengo dos brazos. Lucas: Exactly. And Tengo dos piernas. I have two legs. Tengo dos piernas. Luna: Tengo dos piernas. Lucas: You've got it. Now, let's practice a common phrase. If your leg hurts, you say Me duele la pierna. My leg hurts. Me duele la pierna. Luna: Me duele la pierna. Lucas: Excellent. And if you want to say you lift your arm, you say Levanto el brazo. I lift my arm. Levanto el brazo. Luna: Levanto el brazo. Lucas: Nice. Now let's do a little story. Imagine you're at the doctor. The doctor asks, ¿Qué te duele? What hurts? You could say, Me duele la pierna. Luna: Ah, so that's useful. Me duele la pierna. Lucas: Exactly. And then the doctor might say, Levante el brazo. Lift your arm. So you do that. Levanto el brazo. Luna: Oh, I see. So Levante is the formal command. But we're using Levanto, which is I lift. Lucas: That's right. Good observation. Let's review the words one more time. El brazo. Luna: El brazo. Lucas: La pierna. Luna: La pierna. Lucas: Tengo dos brazos. Luna: Tengo dos brazos. Lucas: Tengo dos piernas. Luna: Tengo dos piernas. Lucas: Me duele la pierna. Luna: Me duele la pierna. Lucas: Levanto el brazo. Luna: Levanto el brazo. Lucas: You did great, Luna. Now you can talk about your arms and legs in Spanish. Luna: Thanks! This was fun. And I love that we can use these with tengo from before. Lucas: Absolutely. Building on what you already know. That's the Fexingo way. Luna: So, until next time, keep practicing. And remember: el brazo, la pierna. Lucas: That's it for episode 44. See you next time on Learn Spanish with Fexingo.
