- 0:12Hello friends. It's shown here.
- 0:15It is Friday. It is the end of another week.
- 0:18Well done to you. What a week.
- 0:21It may well have been for you. For me.
- 0:23I've had the week off work. It's been glorious.
- 0:25So if you have been a productive human being, thanks for making
- 0:30the world go round. I have appreciated not
- 0:33participating in the busy, productive world that we live
- 0:37in. But work or not, we have reached
- 0:40the end. Friday it is, and we shall read
- 0:43Assam together. And last week, Psalm 111 was an
- 0:47acrostic poem from Hebrew with those 10 phrases of praise.
- 0:51And today is another one. This is the second in the set of
- 0:55two a sign of praise. Because frankly, one poem of
- 1:00praise is never going to be enough.
- 1:01So here we are with the second one, and it is a glorious one.
- 1:05It is only 10 phrases. So we will read them together,
- 1:08and we will praise the Lord together.
- 1:11Let's do it, friends. Let's read together some 112
- 1:25Praise the Lord. How joyful are those who fear
- 1:30the Lord and delight in obeying His commands.
- 1:34Their children will be successful everywhere.
- 1:37An entire generation of godly people will be blessed.
- 1:42They themselves will be wealthy, and their good deeds will last
- 1:46forever. Light shines in the darkness for
- 1:50the godly. They are generous,
- 1:52compassionate, and righteous. Good comes to those who lend
- 1:57money generously and conduct their business fairly.
- 2:02Such people will not be overcome by evil.
- 2:05Those who are righteous will be long remembered.
- 2:09They do not fear bad news. They confidently trust the Lord
- 2:13to care for them. They are confident and fearless
- 2:17and can face their foes triumphantly.
- 2:21They share freely and give generously to those in need.
- 2:24Their good deeds will be remembered forever.
- 2:27They will have influence and honour.
- 2:30The wicked will see this and be infuriated.
- 2:34They will grind their teeth in anger.
- 2:36They will slink away their hopes thwarted,
- 2:51Praise you. Indeed, our Lord, You are worthy
- 2:56of all praise. May our hearts delight in you,
- 3:01not delight in all the things that are around us, the things
- 3:04that make us feel comfortable, the things that bring us
- 3:07transient joy. But here you tell us that joy
- 3:11comes from fearing you, from loving you, from recognising you
- 3:16in the central place in our lives.
- 3:19And so we do that, our mighty and glorious God, we praise you
- 3:25and plant you deeply in the centre of our lives, that your
- 3:29roots may grow deeply through us, and that all praise will
- 3:34flow back to you for every good thing in our lives.
- 3:39And for them we thank you, and we give you the glory, our
- 3:45praiseworthy God. And it's all these things that
- 3:50we can pray in the glorious name of Jesus.
- 3:54Ah man.
