- 0:42Speaker 1: I'm nervous to you.
- 0:44Speaker 2: No, not at all?
- 0:45Speaker 1: That wine good, true, sir, I do have whiskey.
- 0:48Speaker 2: Let's do this.
- 0:49Speaker 1: Might need to drink a little more whiskey.
- 0:52Speaker 2: Maybe maybe a wine would be better, right, No, I'm down.
- 0:55Speaker 1: With the whiskey. We are we we're not alcoholics. I
- 0:58Speaker 1: swear we like to drink, especially considering we are in
- 1:00Speaker 1: a first podcast and we're nervous.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Yeah, it's the first one.
- 1:03Speaker 1: It is.
- 1:04Speaker 2: It's just gonna go uphill from here.
- 1:05Speaker 1: If it doesn't go uphill from here, it's gonna go downhill,
- 1:07Speaker 1: which at least is a nice, easy role and not
- 1:09Speaker 1: a lot of work.
- 1:11Speaker 2: Oh, I's set us up for success.
- 1:15Speaker 1: Here, I mean lots of success. But it is true.
- 1:17Speaker 1: It's true. If it goes downhill, it'll be easy. Uphill
- 1:20Speaker 1: is the work?
- 1:21Speaker 2: Uphill actually is harder? Yeah, that's true.
- 1:23Speaker 1: It is. It always is. And we're talking about a
- 1:25Speaker 1: case today where people are going up hill way up
- 1:28Speaker 1: dunt dum dum for doom, for doom. Ooh, like you
- 1:32Speaker 1: said that just for doom, just to their doomed.
- 1:34Speaker 2: There's Yeah, I don't even know much about this yet.
- 1:38Speaker 2: I know very little, very little.
- 1:40Speaker 1: Although you did watch the remake of this case in
- 1:43Speaker 1: like the Hollywood movie sort of situation, which is kind
- 1:45Speaker 1: of like a B grade sort of movie. It's not
- 1:46Speaker 1: like anything fancy, but the remake is known as Devil's Pass.
- 1:51Speaker 1: They go through a bit of information, they say a
- 1:53Speaker 1: little bit of things and stuff. They go off on
- 1:56Speaker 1: a tangent and get a little sci fi on it.
- 1:57Speaker 2: But you said it was quite different than like what
- 1:59Speaker 2: you would be presenting.
- 2:00Speaker 1: It is. It is. They offer facts in the movie,
- 2:03Speaker 1: but it's definitely not along the.
- 2:04Speaker 2: Same line, and they offer their take on their the outcome.
- 2:07Speaker 2: They do, but but there's many takes.
- 2:10Speaker 1: I'm assuming everyone has their own take on this because
- 2:12Speaker 1: there is no outcome. This is a mystery true crime podcast.
- 2:16Speaker 2: Because now see I don't love that it's no ending.
- 2:18Speaker 1: Are ending You're you're because you're one hundred percent wholeheartedly
- 2:22Speaker 1: the true crime individual.
- 2:24Speaker 2: Yeah, if I don't know what happened. Like it, I'll
- 2:26Speaker 2: lose sleep over this.
- 2:27Speaker 1: I love the mystery stuff, No, I do. Like there's
- 2:30Speaker 1: okay growing up, you know, watching unsolved mysteries going on
- 2:33Speaker 1: YouTube at like three am. I still do that, and
- 2:35Speaker 1: I get down the rabbit hole and paranormal stuff and
- 2:37Speaker 1: all that. I don't know if you guys heard that.
- 2:38Speaker 2: It was that the dog or you that was the dog.
- 2:41Speaker 2: The dog is sleeping under my.
- 2:42Speaker 1: Feet currently, yeah, and then the other one is just
- 2:44Speaker 1: up above us, curled up. And we have a black
- 2:46Speaker 1: cat Kiwi wandering around somewhere.
- 2:48Speaker 2: What is the mascot of Wicked and Grim?
- 2:51Speaker 1: He's not on our thumb now, maybe he should be
- 2:53Speaker 1: next time. You should have put it too late now,
- 2:56Speaker 1: too late now.
- 2:57Speaker 2: In like the little icon thing that you made, you
- 2:59Speaker 2: could been sitting under the tree.
- 3:01Speaker 1: Oh, I might have to edit that then. I like it,
- 3:04Speaker 1: just a little subtle thing. Let's put quire or it could.
- 3:06Speaker 2: Be like a secondary icon and Lee Wee isn't there once.
- 3:10Speaker 1: We'll figure out either way. Kiwi is our mascot. He
- 3:12Speaker 1: is our black cat or rescue from the SPCA like
- 3:15Speaker 1: twelve years ago.
- 3:16Speaker 2: No, yeah, he's a little cuity he is.
- 3:18Speaker 1: He's also our best Halloween decoration, like ever, like ever,
- 3:22Speaker 1: he's the best.
- 3:23Speaker 2: Can't top it one percent.
- 3:25Speaker 1: So you ready to dive into this.
- 3:27Speaker 2: I'm ready. I'm ready. Let's go.
- 3:29Speaker 1: So if you know of the movie The Devil's Pass,
- 3:31Speaker 1: you know most likely know of what this what it's
- 3:34Speaker 1: based off of, which is the Diatlov Pass incident in Russia.
- 3:40Speaker 1: It's it's a crazy occurrence of what happened. We still
- 3:44Speaker 1: don't know what happened, but we're going to dive into
- 3:46Speaker 1: it and we're going to try and sort this out
- 3:48Speaker 1: as best we can. However, it is such a large case,
- 3:51Speaker 1: such a well known case, so many theories information, there's
- 3:54Speaker 1: no way we're gonna be able to give you all
- 3:56Speaker 1: the information in the time we have, but we're going
- 3:58Speaker 1: to do our best. I research the crap out of this.
- 4:00Speaker 1: I've got like eight pages of notes right in front
- 4:03Speaker 1: of me, So if you hear paper shuffling, that's me
- 4:05Speaker 1: frantically trying to find a note.
- 4:06Speaker 2: That I you enjoyed this, though you enjoyed researching this, I'm.
- 4:09Speaker 1: Not a research person, which is weird that I enjoyed
- 4:11Speaker 1: this well.
- 4:11Speaker 2: Because it's such a case. At your interesting.
- 4:13Speaker 1: I love this case, like I love it so much. Yeah,
- 4:16Speaker 1: but yeah, I definitely enjoyed it. So the diyachtlav Pass,
- 4:20Speaker 1: it starts out in January twenty third. We're taking it
- 4:23Speaker 1: back to nineteen.
- 4:25Speaker 2: Fifty nine, nineteen fifty nine.
- 4:27Speaker 1: Right, and we're going to the euro Mountains in Soviet Russia.
- 4:30Speaker 1: We have ten experienced hikers, ten ten, ten hikers, and
- 4:34Speaker 1: they're all like, we're gonna go out. We're gonna hike
- 4:36Speaker 1: this these mountains is trail and it's gonna be bombed.
- 4:40Speaker 1: So there was eight men and two women, and they're
- 4:42Speaker 1: all very very experienced outdoorsmen, like they can build a
- 4:45Speaker 1: fire shelter, they could survive. They do this all the time.
- 4:48Speaker 2: They would go hiking in January, I hope, so I.
- 4:50Speaker 1: In the middle of the freaking Russian mountains.
- 4:52Speaker 2: There's no way I'd ever do that.
- 4:54Speaker 1: Right, Like it's crazy.
- 4:55Speaker 2: And in nineteen fifty Mount Robson was a feat.
- 4:57Speaker 1: I mean that was a feat.
- 4:58Speaker 2: Don't get me wrong, it it was. But some people
- 5:01Speaker 2: think that's like a very easy hike.
- 5:03Speaker 1: Definitely not how many How many kilometers was that it
- 5:05Speaker 1: was like twenty one kilometers or something.
- 5:06Speaker 2: Nineteen or something up and then nineteen down obviously, but
- 5:10Speaker 2: it was freaking hard.
- 5:12Speaker 1: It was it was I was crazy.
- 5:14Speaker 2: Anyway, We're not to these people's standards.
- 5:16Speaker 1: We're not. Although we do like the outdoors. I go hunting,
- 5:19Speaker 1: you know, we go hiking, snowshoeing, that stuff. These guys
- 5:21Speaker 1: knew what they were doing and they didn't do it
- 5:23Speaker 1: with near the gear we have today, which is crazy.
- 5:26Speaker 1: So this whole group was led by their leader, Igor Dyatlov,
- 5:29Speaker 1: and this incident was named after him.
- 5:33Speaker 2: So there's a little bit of an incident you don't
- 5:35Speaker 2: want named after you, right.
- 5:37Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure you can already tell that he does
- 5:39Speaker 1: not survive, considering it was named after him. But we'll
- 5:42Speaker 1: get into that. We'll get into that. So over the
- 5:46Speaker 1: next few days, them deciding that they're going to depart
- 5:48Speaker 1: on this adventure up into the mountains, the ural mountains
- 5:51Speaker 1: of Russia, which it was laid out by them, by
- 5:53Speaker 1: the Mancy tribe, the local Manci tribe and everything. It
- 5:55Speaker 1: was already it was pre plotted, okay, Okay, so keep
- 5:58Speaker 1: that in mind. They all live there, you know, I
- 6:01Speaker 1: don't think they lived in this area, but they were
- 6:03Speaker 1: all Russian. Yeah, okay, I'm gonna have to try and
- 6:05Speaker 1: read off Russian names here shortly, and that's that's I'm
- 6:08Speaker 1: gonna do my best, but I'll promise anything, we'll see,
- 6:11Speaker 1: we'll see. So over the next few days it consisted
- 6:14Speaker 1: of traveling, of course, you know, towards the mountains. First
- 6:16Speaker 1: they travel by train, then by bus, then in like
- 6:19Speaker 1: the back like a box of a pickup truck, horse
- 6:22Speaker 1: and sleigh, and then finally by foot.
- 6:24Speaker 2: In skis wow, quite the journey.
- 6:26Speaker 1: And they're going like town to town, you know, village
- 6:28Speaker 1: to village sort of thing. They're spending the night here,
- 6:32Speaker 1: and then they're finding their next route, their next route,
- 6:33Speaker 1: and they eventually get to where they you know, go
- 6:35Speaker 1: off by foot. Okay, So that's that's where we're leading up.
- 6:39Speaker 1: So on January twenty third, that's when they set out
- 6:41Speaker 1: to do this, and by January twenty eighth, one of
- 6:43Speaker 1: the one of the hikers, Yurie Udon, that fallen fallen
- 6:48Speaker 1: ill is what a lot of people say, but I
- 6:49Speaker 1: think it was like you had a few different things
- 6:51Speaker 1: going on, like maybe like a weak knee and different things.
- 6:53Speaker 1: But either way, he said like he can't continue on,
- 6:56Speaker 1: he can't go He's not fit for the venture.
- 6:59Speaker 2: Best decision of his life, right because you're a udon.
- 7:03Speaker 1: Oh wow, is the only survivor from this hike.
- 7:07Speaker 2: Oh man, I'd want to be him.
- 7:09Speaker 1: Right. Well, I don't even still the stuff that he's
- 7:12Speaker 1: living with.
- 7:12Speaker 2: Man, Yeah, that's very true.
- 7:13Speaker 1: I'm not sure if he's still alive today.
- 7:15Speaker 2: Because lots of people, Yeah, they are surviving, like they
- 7:17Speaker 2: have a lot of a lot on their mind.
- 7:19Speaker 1: Yeah, PTSD, trauma and that sort of stuff.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 7:22Speaker 1: So anyways, he decided that he was going to stay back,
- 7:24Speaker 1: and he stayed. I believe he stayed in the most
- 7:27Speaker 1: recent village that they left from by foot. I believe
- 7:29Speaker 1: that's where he stayed, or one of the villages somewhere
- 7:31Speaker 1: along there. Okay, And on their route, you know, they
- 7:34Speaker 1: took they took several cameras with them and several journals
- 7:37Speaker 1: all this sort of thing. They they documented their their
- 7:40Speaker 1: trip well, and you can look at the photos they're
- 7:42Speaker 1: all online, and they had they had a blast. You know,
- 7:44Speaker 1: they're they're smiling the group photos. They're hiking and skiing
- 7:48Speaker 1: like cross country skiing.
- 7:50Speaker 2: They're in their element. All the sounds of.
- 7:51Speaker 1: It, and that element is the snowy mountains in Russia.
- 7:55Speaker 1: So they rocked this. They were doing this, and in
- 7:57Speaker 1: one of the journals, actually there was a bit of
- 7:59Speaker 1: an ominous entry, this one. Still it stood out to
- 8:04Speaker 1: me and I quote, this is right from the journal.
- 8:07Speaker 1: I wonder what awaits us on this hike? Will anything happen?
- 8:13Speaker 2: Wow? Like what did she think?
- 8:14Speaker 1: Is this?
- 8:15Speaker 2: Sorry? Him her?
- 8:16Speaker 1: I can't remember who who wrote this entry. There were
- 8:19Speaker 1: several journals like foreshadowing, right, like it's ominous as fuck,
- 8:25Speaker 1: it's crazy.
- 8:25Speaker 2: But it's also maybe this. Oh I hope something happens.
- 8:27Speaker 1: How it's exciting, right, like, there's no way this individual
- 8:30Speaker 1: knew what was to happen, but it's still it's like
- 8:33Speaker 1: shivers up the spot.
- 8:34Speaker 2: Yeah, that's that's like goosebumps right there. Bumps. Yeah.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Okay, So February first, after you know, they're traveling for
- 8:42Speaker 1: for a few days, they reach what is known as
- 8:44Speaker 1: Dead Mountain.
- 8:45Speaker 2: Okay, I'm already out, you're out. I'm out.
- 8:48Speaker 1: A lot of people say that, I mean, who's going
- 8:50Speaker 1: to travel to Dead Mountain? It's named Dead Mountain? Why?
- 8:54Speaker 2: It's just like a mountain I don't need to be on,
- 8:56Speaker 2: but I'll.
- 8:56Speaker 1: Tell you why. It's named Dead Mountain. A lot of
- 8:59Speaker 1: people actually don't realize this. They go, why are you
- 9:01Speaker 1: going to travel dead mountain? You know, that's creepy, it's scary,
- 9:03Speaker 1: don't go there. Actually, the local Mancy tribe it it's
- 9:08Speaker 1: translated into dead mountain, and their definition for it is
- 9:12Speaker 1: actually lack of game. So it's not that people are
- 9:16Speaker 1: dying going up there there.
- 9:17Speaker 2: It's just nothing there.
- 9:19Speaker 1: Yeah, it's just a barren mountain.
- 9:20Speaker 2: There's no game, animals, no hunting, no.
- 9:22Speaker 1: Yeah, so it's just don't bother that. It's it's the
- 9:25Speaker 1: dead mountain. It's like a dead tree.
- 9:26Speaker 2: Yeah, but give it a couple of years, it's probably
- 9:28Speaker 2: flourishing and they should definitely be hunting up there.
- 9:31Speaker 1: I mean, if there's plants, if there's animals, that sort
- 9:33Speaker 1: of thing. But clearly they named a dead mountain for
- 9:35Speaker 1: a reason.
- 9:36Speaker 2: There's not now no one is ever going to go there.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Oh, people go there after this incident. The mountain was
- 9:41Speaker 1: closed for three years, but it did reopen and people
- 9:43Speaker 1: go there.
- 9:44Speaker 2: Oh wow, okay, I'll put it on our list.
- 9:46Speaker 1: Right. So once once they left Uri for the Dead Mountain,
- 9:53Speaker 1: Igor actually told Yuri that he would send a message
- 9:55Speaker 1: via telegram I once they returned from the mountain on
- 9:58Speaker 1: the twelfth, So I don't believe that Yuri was actually
- 10:01Speaker 1: in the last village they were at. He went back
- 10:03Speaker 1: to a different one because they would return to that
- 10:05Speaker 1: last village and send the telegram to him that they arrived, right.
- 10:09Speaker 2: Okay, So he was the one they were going to
- 10:11Speaker 2: notify that they're safe.
- 10:12Speaker 1: They were going to tell you, like, you know what,
- 10:14Speaker 1: we're back and we're expected to arrive in the twelfth.
- 10:16Speaker 1: Ye well, nothing, nothing happened. Yuri didn't hear from the
- 10:20Speaker 1: twelfth came rolled around, you know, days of going by.
- 10:25Speaker 2: Nothing, nothing, nothing, silence, silence.
- 10:30Speaker 1: So of course you know they're getting worried. They're out
- 10:33Speaker 1: in the mountain missing, and eventually on the twenty first
- 10:37Speaker 1: of February. This is like they're supposed to return on.
- 10:40Speaker 2: The twelfth till like nine days later.
- 10:43Speaker 1: Yeah, well, to be fair, the twentieth, their family and
- 10:46Speaker 1: stuff was like, we need to get a search party
- 10:48Speaker 1: out of there, out there, like they were insisting. And
- 10:50Speaker 1: then finally on the twenty first, the search party.
- 10:52Speaker 2: Was wely shit. I know that's a long period of time.
- 10:56Speaker 1: It's a long ass period of time, but I mean,
- 10:58Speaker 1: they finally got him out there, at least at least.
- 11:00Speaker 2: Wow. I wonder what the stall was.
- 11:02Speaker 1: I don't know, but on the twenty first it was launched,
- 11:05Speaker 1: and on February twenty sixth, their camp was located a
- 11:08Speaker 1: few hundred meters from the peak of Dead Mountain, so.
- 11:11Speaker 2: It even Yeah, even locating their camp took a while,
- 11:13Speaker 2: but I don't know. I guess it was it could
- 11:15Speaker 2: have taken that long to hike up.
- 11:17Speaker 1: There potentially, or or finding where they camped or anything,
- 11:20Speaker 1: because they're I mean they left when when was left.
- 11:24Speaker 1: They left January twenty eighth on their hike, and they
- 11:27Speaker 1: reached the peak by the first so it's a couple
- 11:30Speaker 1: of days hike.
- 11:30Speaker 2: Okay, What were they going to do up there for
- 11:32Speaker 2: that long?
- 11:32Speaker 1: I wonder, just camp enjoy the element to have fun hike.
- 11:36Speaker 1: What did we do when we went to Mark Robson.
- 11:38Speaker 1: We hiked up there, we slept, we walked back down.
- 11:41Speaker 2: We did it wrong. We should have spent some time
- 11:44Speaker 2: up there.
- 11:44Speaker 1: We should have. We should have, but I mean we
- 11:45Speaker 1: just up on a whim. Did it on the weekend.
- 11:47Speaker 2: Right, These guys had a lot of time.
- 11:49Speaker 1: They were planning to have fun up there.
- 11:50Speaker 2: Yeah, they did it right.
- 11:52Speaker 1: So their camp was found few hundred meters from the peak,
- 11:55Speaker 1: and the camp was found in shambles. Okay. They all
- 11:59Speaker 1: stayed in this one big canvas tent and it was
- 12:02Speaker 1: kept like I mean, it's been up there a few days.
- 12:03Speaker 1: The weather's kind of knocked it around a bit, and
- 12:05Speaker 1: everything right, that's fair. Inside of the tent was quite orderly.
- 12:09Speaker 1: It was you know, organized, you know, nothing was strewn
- 12:11Speaker 1: about or anything. However, from the inside of the tent
- 12:15Speaker 1: it was slashed and cut with a knife, and they
- 12:18Speaker 1: escaped out through these cuts with large enough people from
- 12:22Speaker 1: the inside, from the inside. What was inside the tent, well,
- 12:27Speaker 1: they were and they cut it, and they escaped from
- 12:30Speaker 1: something or someone. It could have been something or someone
- 12:34Speaker 1: outside the tent, or someone or something inside the tent.
- 12:37Speaker 1: Maybe it was each other. We don't know. All we
- 12:39Speaker 1: know is they cut the tent from the inside to escape.
- 12:43Speaker 2: I don't want to sleep in our tent anymore. That's scary.
- 12:47Speaker 1: I mean, I'm pretty sure what what what would like
- 12:50Speaker 1: you just what would cause that? I don't know, But
- 12:52Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure we're not going to just slash our
- 12:53Speaker 1: tent open. I really hope.
- 12:56Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, I don't know. Did the zipper break.
- 12:59Speaker 1: I don't know. All we know is that they slashed
- 13:02Speaker 1: open the tent to escape.
- 13:04Speaker 2: But everything's in order inside.
- 13:07Speaker 1: Yes, So this this varies. I can't find an exact number.
- 13:11Speaker 1: It was either nine or eight, but either nine or
- 13:13Speaker 1: eight sets of footprints were found in the snow leading
- 13:17Speaker 1: away from the tent, and there are nine hikers.
- 13:19Speaker 2: Getting the hell away from whatever, but bars there.
- 13:23Speaker 1: This is the thing, because we live in a snowy area,
- 13:25Speaker 1: we go outside, we know what's footprints in.
- 13:27Speaker 2: The snow look like, right, Yeah, totally.
- 13:29Speaker 1: There's a difference between walking away and running away, huge
- 13:33Speaker 1: difference in the snow.
- 13:34Speaker 2: You can tell if someone's running, the snow gets the
- 13:37Speaker 2: footprint apart, right, Yeah.
- 13:38Speaker 1: It's it's very obvious. These footprints were not in a rush.
- 13:42Speaker 1: They were not running. They were walking in an orderly fashion.
- 13:46Speaker 2: See that doesn't make any sense.
- 13:48Speaker 1: It doesn't.
- 13:48Speaker 2: You're cutting the inside of your tent, but then you're
- 13:51Speaker 2: just walking away.
- 13:52Speaker 1: That's right. Confused, Oh, this is a very confusing case.
- 13:56Speaker 1: You're going to get more confused. So they're walking down
- 14:00Speaker 1: the mountain to a nearby bush line, tree line.
- 14:03Speaker 2: Maybe it was a game, a game, A game, I
- 14:07Speaker 2: don't know, a game, a game, but this doesn't make
- 14:11Speaker 2: any sense. You're cutting your tent open and then you're
- 14:14Speaker 2: leisurely walking away.
- 14:15Speaker 1: But okay, we're I'm going to tell you this is
- 14:18Speaker 1: no game, and I'm gonna tell you why because at
- 14:20Speaker 1: the tree line, which is about half and half a
- 14:22Speaker 1: kilometer and a half away ish the distance varies in
- 14:25Speaker 1: reports that I've read, but about a half a kilometer
- 14:29Speaker 1: and a half away. They found the tree at this
- 14:31Speaker 1: large tree on the edge of the tree line with
- 14:33Speaker 1: a makeshift fire underneath, and the tree about fifteen meters
- 14:37Speaker 1: up was kind of like it was obvious, like people
- 14:40Speaker 1: were climbing it, broken branches, bark scraped off, that sort
- 14:43Speaker 1: of thing.
- 14:43Speaker 2: About fifteen meters up, okay, and by ing from something
- 14:47Speaker 2: at that point there.
- 14:48Speaker 1: Potentially running up the tree potentially. But they found two
- 14:50Speaker 1: bodies laying down as well, two frozen bodies. And now
- 14:55Speaker 1: these individuals, these bodies that they found, I'm going to
- 14:57Speaker 1: try and pronounce these names as best as I can.
- 15:00Speaker 1: I'm sorry for butchering them because I know I'm going to.
- 15:02Speaker 1: But it was the bodies of Yuri Krivishenko, and Uri Doroshenko,
- 15:06Speaker 1: which were two of the hikers. Okay, now these two
- 15:11Speaker 1: succumb to what's in the autopsy report is hypothermia, so
- 15:15Speaker 1: they perish from that.
- 15:16Speaker 2: That seems like a thing that would happen. Well, I mean,
- 15:20Speaker 2: you're a forensic from getting the bodies though hey have
- 15:23Speaker 2: being frozen. That'd be helpful for this investigation.
- 15:25Speaker 1: I feel like one hundred percent. I've got the autopsies here,
- 15:28Speaker 1: and they estimate that it was about minus thirty degrees
- 15:31Speaker 1: celsius that night, which was approximately minus twenty twenty two
- 15:34Speaker 1: degrees fahrenheit, so about that range for everyone. So that's
- 15:37Speaker 1: what they estimated. So Yuri Krivishenko, the autopsy shows he
- 15:42Speaker 1: had bruises on his forehead and temporal bone. He frost
- 15:45Speaker 1: bitten ears, and the tip of his nose was missing.
- 15:47Speaker 1: You know, it's very frost bite sort of stuff, right,
- 15:50Speaker 1: not that.
- 15:52Speaker 2: Did you say that he had bruising though?
- 15:54Speaker 1: Was that for well, the bruising, No, that's not frost bite. Yeah,
- 15:56Speaker 1: that's the strama. I'm just saying the tip of his
- 15:58Speaker 1: nose part like, it's very frost Okay. He had bruises
- 16:01Speaker 1: on the right side of his chest, thigh, and left butt,
- 16:05Speaker 1: bruises and abrasions on his hands, burns on his leg
- 16:10Speaker 1: and get this, skin from his hand from the back
- 16:13Speaker 1: of his hand was found between his teeth.
- 16:18Speaker 2: On the back of his hand, in his teeth. Yes,
- 16:22Speaker 2: he was like biting, like almost like uncomfortable, maybe OCD
- 16:26Speaker 2: kind of who knows.
- 16:28Speaker 1: Some people say it was a sign of struggle that
- 16:30Speaker 1: he was the one climbing the tree hence like you know,
- 16:32Speaker 1: it's messed up hands and he could have been like
- 16:36Speaker 1: trying to stay up that tree away from something or someone.
- 16:39Speaker 2: That doesn't make a sense of why it would be
- 16:41Speaker 2: in his mouth though his hands.
- 16:42Speaker 1: Maybe he was biting on something, like just trying as
- 16:44Speaker 1: hard as he could.
- 16:45Speaker 2: And he just oh to keep quiet or something.
- 16:47Speaker 1: Maybe maybe or he was just in that like desperate
- 16:53Speaker 1: to get wood off the tree for the fire, and
- 16:54Speaker 1: he's biting his hand, don't I don't know.
- 16:56Speaker 2: It doesn't frustration. It could be frustration to theory.
- 16:59Speaker 1: Doesn't make sense to me, but the fact remains. Skin
- 17:02Speaker 1: from the back of his hand was found between his teeth.
- 17:05Speaker 2: Nikes.
- 17:07Speaker 1: So the guy he was next to, Yuri Doorshenko, his
- 17:11Speaker 1: hair was burned off on the left side of his
- 17:13Speaker 1: head so we have burns on both these guys.
- 17:15Speaker 2: Okay.
- 17:16Speaker 1: His face was covered in like minor amounts of blood,
- 17:18Speaker 1: like his nose, lips, and ears. He had abrasions on
- 17:22Speaker 1: his inner left and right shoulders like armpit area, you know,
- 17:25Speaker 1: inside the bicep, that sort of stuff. Fingers had the
- 17:28Speaker 1: skin torn off, frostbite in his face. And then get
- 17:32Speaker 1: this one. This is the weird This is a really
- 17:33Speaker 1: weird one.
- 17:34Speaker 2: Okay, you ready, yeah, I'm ready, sure, I don't know.
- 17:37Speaker 1: Now, he had a foamy gray discharge from his mouth
- 17:42Speaker 1: on the right side of his cheek.
- 17:45Speaker 2: Okay, so what does that mean?
- 17:46Speaker 1: Then, Well, the autopsy, the doctors say that this was
- 17:50Speaker 1: they think it was from before his death, which shows
- 17:53Speaker 1: a great pressure, a great amount of pressure on his
- 17:55Speaker 1: chest cavity, like he was like being pushed on by
- 17:58Speaker 1: something like something sitting on.
- 18:00Speaker 2: The foam come from your mouth, like exhaling.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Like think like like discharging your lungs or something like that.
- 18:06Speaker 1: You're just like like you're trying to breathe. That's why
- 18:09Speaker 1: it's foamy.
- 18:09Speaker 2: Right, Okay, So there's something I have no.
- 18:14Speaker 1: Idea on his chest causing that before.
- 18:17Speaker 2: He died, great foam to come out of his mouth.
- 18:18Speaker 1: Yes, before he died, before he died, Before he died,
- 18:22Speaker 1: that's key.
- 18:23Speaker 2: Oh wow, Okay, well, I mean yeah, it would probably
- 18:26Speaker 2: be before you die, so that would happen.
- 18:29Speaker 1: Well, I mean, it wasn't something after he dies. Yeah,
- 18:31Speaker 1: it's the point.
- 18:32Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 18:34Speaker 1: So those are the two, the first two guys.
- 18:36Speaker 2: That we find, and they're a way, they're on their
- 18:38Speaker 2: own kind of.
- 18:40Speaker 1: Well, they're they're found side by side underneath this tree.
- 18:42Speaker 2: But that's not what the rest of the group correct. Okay.
- 18:46Speaker 1: So after they found these two, they find three more
- 18:49Speaker 1: bodies of the hikers in varying distances between the tree
- 18:52Speaker 1: and where the tent was. So between these two guys
- 18:54Speaker 1: that they found and the tent, they found three more
- 18:57Speaker 1: the hikers. They all to come to hypothermia.
- 19:01Speaker 2: Okay, so the first same, same cause of death the.
- 19:03Speaker 1: First five individuals, hypothermia through and through. Okay, but there's
- 19:08Speaker 1: still some weird stuff that's going on, because, like I said,
- 19:11Speaker 1: I've got the autopsies. Let's look at what happened to
- 19:14Speaker 1: these four three three sorry, three.
- 19:17Speaker 2: I was like, there's more. My bad, my bad, three Okay,
- 19:21Speaker 2: let's hear it.
- 19:22Speaker 1: So these three were Igor Datlov who is the leader
- 19:25Speaker 1: of the group. Okay, right right, Rustom slow Bodoin, Sloboden,
- 19:30Speaker 1: I think, and then Xena Clemogravova, Clamogrova, Grova, yes, Clomogrova, Klomogrova,
- 19:40Speaker 1: I think. I can't speak Russia. Oh boy, I'm sorry.
- 19:43Speaker 1: I'm sorry for getting these names so bad.
- 19:45Speaker 2: You're doing your best.
- 19:46Speaker 1: I'm trying. I'm trying, and that's important. So Igor, first
- 19:49Speaker 1: of all, there wasn't much strange about him. Of course,
- 19:52Speaker 1: you know, he was frozen to death. But all three
- 19:55Speaker 1: of these were found facing in the direction of the tent,
- 19:57Speaker 1: as if they're trying to go back to the tent.
- 20:00Speaker 2: The tent that was cut from the inside. Yes, okay,
- 20:04Speaker 2: so there's just some weird chit ca.
- 20:05Speaker 1: There's so much weird shit. And then well we're we're
- 20:08Speaker 1: not even scratching the surface yet. Trust me, trust me,
- 20:11Speaker 1: we got theories after all this. So hold on, sorry
- 20:14Speaker 1: I bumped the microphone. So eager was. Igor was found
- 20:18Speaker 1: with minor abrasions and bruising on his face, hands, knees,
- 20:23Speaker 1: and shins. So minor abrasions just kind of like scraped out.
- 20:27Speaker 1: It could have been scrambling through the icy snow who knows, right,
- 20:30Speaker 1: But he was also found with a pick of Coolma Grova.
- 20:33Speaker 1: I think I said her name right that time.
- 20:35Speaker 2: Oh it sounded better Colmagrova.
- 20:38Speaker 1: I'm getting this, I'm getting it. He was found with
- 20:40Speaker 1: a picture of her on him, as that they were
- 20:42Speaker 1: kind of an item.
- 20:43Speaker 2: So oh, okay, they were together.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Yeah, so he had a picture of her on him
- 20:46Speaker 1: prior to yes, and he was also wearing Dorishenko's shirt.
- 20:54Speaker 1: So one of the guys that we found prior to this,
- 20:56Speaker 1: those two, those two guys Urie Dorishenko.
- 21:00Speaker 2: The ones at the fire.
- 21:01Speaker 1: Yes, okay, he was found wearing his shirt because and
- 21:05Speaker 1: this is testified, that could.
- 21:07Speaker 2: Just be like he's borrowing a shirt.
- 21:08Speaker 1: It could be, could be, but it could also establish
- 21:11Speaker 1: a timeline because those first two guys, actually I forgot
- 21:13Speaker 1: to mention, they weren't wearing much clothing. They were in
- 21:16Speaker 1: their underwear and T shirt and no shoes or socks.
- 21:18Speaker 1: Actually they might have been wearing socks. So it could
- 21:21Speaker 1: be that these groups, this group was together. This five
- 21:24Speaker 1: those two ended up freezing to death and Igor took
- 21:27Speaker 1: his shirt and moved.
- 21:28Speaker 2: On stay warm exactly.
- 21:31Speaker 1: It could could be that, but we don't know. The
- 21:34Speaker 1: next we had Rustum Slobodin. He had bruises and skin
- 21:40Speaker 1: torn from both hands, which is common in hand to
- 21:43Speaker 1: hand combat, like you're fighting like a boxer, kind of
- 21:48Speaker 1: like the outer metacarpal, like along your pinky knuckle and
- 21:51Speaker 1: down towards your wrist. He had like lots of bruising
- 21:55Speaker 1: and a break.
- 21:55Speaker 2: He wasning someone or something interesting.
- 21:59Speaker 1: It's very common in like hand to hand combat. That's
- 22:02Speaker 1: the sort of injuries he had in his hand. Now
- 22:05Speaker 1: he also had abrasions, swelling, bruising and blood on his face.
- 22:10Speaker 2: Was it fresh though, like maybe he had gotten those injuries.
- 22:13Speaker 1: Prior to Oh no he did this. This was all
- 22:16Speaker 1: like they did not leave with these injuries.
- 22:18Speaker 2: Oh okay, okay, you're a udon.
- 22:20Speaker 1: The guy who stayed behind, he's one hundred percent testified, Like.
- 22:23Speaker 2: No, this is like all the shit happened.
- 22:25Speaker 1: We were all good.
- 22:26Speaker 2: Yeah, they were healthy and they were going on in
- 22:28Speaker 2: the hike of their life, and there's.
- 22:29Speaker 1: Photo evidence to show what they look like. And they
- 22:31Speaker 1: did not have any of these bruises or scrapes or
- 22:33Speaker 1: anything because they had those cameras and documentation of that.
- 22:35Speaker 2: Right, he says it maybe he was a boxer prior too.
- 22:38Speaker 1: No, definitely not well, I mean maybe he was, but
- 22:40Speaker 1: these were not injuries he had.
- 22:41Speaker 2: Okay, to the mountain.
- 22:44Speaker 1: So he had the bruising, swelling blood on his face.
- 22:47Speaker 1: I didn't get this. He had a fractured a fractured
- 22:50Speaker 1: frontal bone in his skull and hemorrhaging in his temples.
- 22:55Speaker 1: He had a fractured skull.
- 22:58Speaker 2: This is the guy that the same guy that had
- 23:00Speaker 2: the hands. Yeah, so he was in a mega fight, your.
- 23:03Speaker 1: Fight with someone something, hit by someone something. Yes, that's
- 23:07Speaker 1: what it looks like.
- 23:08Speaker 2: Wow.
- 23:08Speaker 1: But even though we had this fractured skull the hemorrhaging,
- 23:11Speaker 1: he still died of hypothermia.
- 23:14Speaker 2: Okay, so that he he it was the cold that
- 23:18Speaker 2: got him first.
- 23:19Speaker 1: All five of these first people it was the cold.
- 23:21Speaker 2: Okay.
- 23:22Speaker 1: So last one of this first five was female, Xena Colemcgrova.
- 23:26Speaker 1: She was dressed really well, like really well, which could
- 23:31Speaker 1: again say that she might have taken clothes from other
- 23:33Speaker 1: people as they passed away potentially.
- 23:35Speaker 2: Or it could have been like her boyfriend looking out
- 23:37Speaker 2: for her and stuff.
- 23:38Speaker 1: Well, just just get this, because she had multiple layers,
- 23:41Speaker 1: She had two hats, she had four shirts, three pairs
- 23:45Speaker 1: of pants, three pairs of socks, and no boots on.
- 23:49Speaker 2: So she was dressed very irregular, very well without.
- 23:52Speaker 1: Boots, yes, so very well.
- 23:55Speaker 2: She was just really prepared though with all those clothing.
- 23:57Speaker 1: Maybe maybe she also had spit and fingers, bruises on
- 24:01Speaker 1: her hands and palms, and a long bruise on the
- 24:04Speaker 1: right side of her abdomen kind of like kidney, kind
- 24:06Speaker 1: of sort of sort of area wrapping around to the
- 24:07Speaker 1: front abs.
- 24:09Speaker 2: Interesting.
- 24:09Speaker 1: Okay, So yeah, that's that's the first section of people
- 24:13Speaker 1: that they found. They found them like almost immediately, the
- 24:16Speaker 1: poor things. I mean, I can't believe it, Like there's
- 24:20Speaker 1: there's some weird ship, but.
- 24:21Speaker 2: The shit went down up there.
- 24:23Speaker 1: The other group they don't find until two months later,
- 24:27Speaker 1: two months, two months, two months, wow, two months they
- 24:31Speaker 1: sat up there in the cold.
- 24:33Speaker 2: That's a long time right.
- 24:37Speaker 1: Oh. By the way, I forgot to mention this, Uh,
- 24:39Speaker 1: that first five four out of five of them were
- 24:43Speaker 1: found to be intoxicated at the time as well.
- 24:45Speaker 2: Really, yeah, I don't know how they up there.
- 24:49Speaker 1: Yes, I mean we do. When we go on.
- 24:52Speaker 2: Made me bring a bottle of wine, not enough to
- 24:55Speaker 2: get us freaking intoxicated.
- 24:57Speaker 1: Yeah, fair enough. But they were intoxicated.
- 25:00Speaker 2: Wow did they do? You like them a bit more?
- 25:01Speaker 1: A little bit. They're more kind of people.
- 25:03Speaker 2: They are totally your kind of people.
- 25:05Speaker 1: Thank you, love you too. So yeah. The last four
- 25:09Speaker 1: were found almost two months later. Yeah, in like under
- 25:13Speaker 1: three meters of snow in a small ravine farther down
- 25:15Speaker 1: the mountain.
- 25:16Speaker 2: Okay, sorry, we have five. They all died of frostbite hypothermia. Sorry.
- 25:22Speaker 2: And then now there's three more that I found two
- 25:24Speaker 2: months later, A.
- 25:26Speaker 1: Four more, four more yes.
- 25:27Speaker 2: Okay, okay, just making sure I'm on the sad.
- 25:30Speaker 1: Nine hikers in total. The first five they found immediately
- 25:32Speaker 1: of hypothermia. Four more they were found in a ravine
- 25:36Speaker 1: farther down the mountain, and they were under three meters
- 25:39Speaker 1: of snow.
- 25:39Speaker 2: How much farther down the mountain, I'm not.
- 25:42Speaker 1: Too sure exactly. It wasn't much farther down half a kilometer.
- 25:45Speaker 1: I think it was still in that same sort of
- 25:46Speaker 1: bush line. It was a little bit farther down sort
- 25:48Speaker 1: of Okay, I don't know the exact distance. I didn't
- 25:51Speaker 1: write that down, but it was a little bit farther
- 25:53Speaker 1: down sort of thing. So this their injuries are a
- 25:58Speaker 1: lot a lot different, a lot more significant, and greater
- 26:03Speaker 1: the actual Like the doctors, the medical examiners said that
- 26:05Speaker 1: the injuries were like a great fall and compared the
- 26:08Speaker 1: injuries to a car crash and said that these injuries
- 26:11Speaker 1: were impossible for a human to inflict.
- 26:15Speaker 2: Okay, so they could have just fallen or something down
- 26:19Speaker 2: down the mountain.
- 26:20Speaker 1: I mean, who knows how far down they fell, but
- 26:23Speaker 1: like down in this ravine, it was shown that they
- 26:25Speaker 1: were like camping. There's evidence of a fire down the snow.
- 26:28Speaker 1: So they didn't fall into this ravine.
- 26:30Speaker 2: Oh, they were camped there.
- 26:31Speaker 1: Yeah, they went down there to try and get like shelter. Okay,
- 26:34Speaker 1: so they were under three meters of snow when they
- 26:36Speaker 1: were found two months later in.
- 26:37Speaker 2: The spring, and we don't know if they died later
- 26:40Speaker 2: later of what than the other five.
- 26:43Speaker 1: Well, we'll get into the autopsy reports.
- 26:46Speaker 2: I'm asking too many questions, so I'm getting into it. Okay,
- 26:48Speaker 2: let me. I'm going to listen. I'm listening.
- 26:51Speaker 1: Okay. So, out of these these next individuals, we had,
- 26:56Speaker 1: Nick Lai, I'm going to say these names so wrong.
- 26:58Speaker 1: I'm sorry, Nikolai T. Brignola's Alexander Kolovitov, Semen, Zoltev, Zolaratev.
- 27:07Speaker 1: Although he had a nickname, he didn't actually go by Semen.
- 27:09Speaker 1: I forgot to write it down, so I'm just gonna
- 27:11Speaker 1: be saying the last names here. But and lastly, we
- 27:13Speaker 1: had Ludmilda dab Dabina.
- 27:16Speaker 2: Is that the other female?
- 27:18Speaker 1: Yes? Okay, uh, Dovinina Dobnina. There we go. So first
- 27:23Speaker 1: of all, TiVo Brignolas, he was well dressed for the
- 27:27Speaker 1: elements with boots, like they expect that maybe he was
- 27:30Speaker 1: outside the tent when whatever happened happened. He was. He
- 27:33Speaker 1: was well prepared. He was wearing boots, jacket, hat, whole
- 27:36Speaker 1: nine yards.
- 27:36Speaker 2: Okay, he was prepared.
- 27:38Speaker 1: Yes, he had multiple fractures on his temporal bone, which
- 27:41Speaker 1: is in the skull on the right side, minor fractual
- 27:44Speaker 1: bruising and hemorrhaging on the lower forearm. And his cause
- 27:48Speaker 1: of death because like he had a major fracture of
- 27:51Speaker 1: the skull, his cause of death was from his injuries.
- 27:53Speaker 1: He didn't freeze to death. Oh okay, So whatever hit
- 27:57Speaker 1: him in the head, this accident, come comparison, that's what
- 28:01Speaker 1: killed him. Yes, okay, So Colvid done man, these names
- 28:07Speaker 1: are hard to say. I'm trying my best. Maybe I
- 28:09Speaker 1: need more whiskey or less one of the.
- 28:11Speaker 2: Two one or the other.
- 28:12Speaker 1: Culvatov was he was missing his eyes, missing his eyes,
- 28:21Speaker 1: and his skull was showing eyes right now. So yeah,
- 28:27Speaker 1: exposed skull in the eyebrows and missing his eyes right
- 28:31Speaker 1: which is creepy.
- 28:32Speaker 2: Wow.
- 28:34Speaker 1: He had open wounds behind his He had an open
- 28:36Speaker 1: wound behind his ear, a broken nose, and from the
- 28:39Speaker 1: report quote unquote, a deformed neck like a broken neck
- 28:44Speaker 1: sort of situation. I don't I didn't find if it
- 28:47Speaker 1: was actually broken in the report, but the report says
- 28:50Speaker 1: deformed neck.
- 28:51Speaker 2: Poor guy.
- 28:54Speaker 1: Now his cause of death. Even though he had this
- 28:55Speaker 1: deformed neck, missing eyes, all this sort of thing, it
- 28:58Speaker 1: was caused by exposure to low temperatures. That's what it
- 29:01Speaker 1: says in the report. Doesn't say hypothermia. It says exposure
- 29:04Speaker 1: to low temperatures.
- 29:06Speaker 2: Is that the same thing? I think?
- 29:07Speaker 1: So okay, But yeah, zolte.
- 29:11Speaker 2: Gosh, she would think the neck that would have done it.
- 29:14Speaker 1: I guess not he froze, or if some of the
- 29:17Speaker 1: temperatures he froze or something. Zolotev was also missing his eyes.
- 29:23Speaker 1: And had exposed skull in his left eyebrow. So we
- 29:25Speaker 1: have two dudes missing their eyes and they were found
- 29:27Speaker 1: three meters under.
- 29:28Speaker 2: Snow and exposed skull means they must have got like
- 29:31Speaker 2: bashed in the head quite hard.
- 29:32Speaker 1: Well, expose skull like on the eyebrows because you have
- 29:34Speaker 1: your eyes missing, So that exposed skulls on the eyebrow.
- 29:38Speaker 1: So it's probably to do with the removal.
- 29:41Speaker 2: I would hope that if my eyes got removed, that
- 29:43Speaker 2: would just be the death of me.
- 29:45Speaker 1: I would hope I would die before that happens. Actually, yeah,
- 29:48Speaker 1: I don't want to die by removal of eyebrow or eyeballs.
- 29:51Speaker 2: Yeah, but yeah, I just need that process to be
- 29:54Speaker 2: done really quick.
- 29:55Speaker 1: Just rip them out. Yeah, just don't rip out my eyes.
- 29:59Speaker 1: Just let me sleep, maybe and die peacefully.
- 30:03Speaker 2: Years old, or die in your sleep. Yeah, that's the
- 30:06Speaker 2: way to go, isn't it.
- 30:08Speaker 1: Or maybe like give me a whiskey first and then
- 30:10Speaker 1: I'll pass out because I'm drunk, and then I'll die.
- 30:12Speaker 1: I don't know. I just I don't want pain, That's
- 30:14Speaker 1: what I'm trying to say.
- 30:16Speaker 2: You don't want your eyes ripped out.
- 30:17Speaker 1: I want to live life. I want to have another whiskey,
- 30:19Speaker 1: and I don't want my eyes ripped out of my head.
- 30:21Speaker 1: That's fair, So Zolo, Zola, Trev Manzolo, tell Rev, there
- 30:28Speaker 1: we go. These names are hard Russian language. You are
- 30:31Speaker 1: take the case I did. I love this case, okay,
- 30:34Speaker 1: but he was He had his missing eyes. He also
- 30:37Speaker 1: had five fractured ribs and flail chest. Now, flail chest
- 30:41Speaker 1: means that the ribs are actually completely separated. Oh wow,
- 30:45Speaker 1: So I think if you have like you're taking a
- 30:48Speaker 1: deep breath, how your ribs expand that section of his
- 30:50Speaker 1: ribs wouldn't have expanded. His ribs are just stationary and
- 30:54Speaker 1: snapped off.
- 30:55Speaker 2: And that's called flailed chest. Flail chest, flail chest. Okay,
- 30:59Speaker 2: I didn't mean to know what that is.
- 31:00Speaker 1: And he had severe internal bleeding, I would imagine, and
- 31:05Speaker 1: his death was caused by these this flail chest and
- 31:08Speaker 1: that bleeding. Yeah, that was his death cause. Finally, with Debinina,
- 31:14Speaker 1: I think I said her name right, Yes, another one,
- 31:16Speaker 1: another point for me. She was found with four broken
- 31:20Speaker 1: ribs on her right side, five broken ribs on her
- 31:22Speaker 1: left side, massive hemorrhaging of her heart's right atrium, missing eyes,
- 31:28Speaker 1: broken nose, her nose is broken and flattened bruises on
- 31:32Speaker 1: her left thigh. And get this, this one is like
- 31:35Speaker 1: a major influence on a lot of theories out there.
- 31:40Speaker 1: She had a missing tongue.
- 31:44Speaker 2: No tongue, no tongue gone what like ripped out or
- 31:50Speaker 2: cutout or what's.
- 31:52Speaker 1: That's kind of something that a lot of people turn
- 31:54Speaker 1: to with their theories and sort of thing like someone
- 31:56Speaker 1: cut it out, maybe like UFOs or military or animals
- 31:59Speaker 1: could have it or something. But all it says, I'm
- 32:02Speaker 1: gonna look, I have it written down here somewhere. Where
- 32:07Speaker 1: is it?
- 32:08Speaker 2: Because three three out of the four of them were
- 32:10Speaker 2: also oh ripley.
- 32:14Speaker 1: Our dog is like banging against the table there?
- 32:16Speaker 2: Yeah, sorry, three out of the four were missing eyes.
- 32:20Speaker 1: Yes, Where do I have the tongue thing written down? Oh?
- 32:24Speaker 1: Here it is? Okay. So when in the report and
- 32:28Speaker 1: I quote this is how they wrote it, diaphragm of
- 32:31Speaker 1: the mouth and the tongue are missing. Is missing?
- 32:34Speaker 2: Sorry, is missing?
- 32:36Speaker 1: So it doesn't say it's cut out, doesn't say it's
- 32:37Speaker 1: tore out, doesn't that's kind of like the diaphragm.
- 32:40Speaker 2: That means I feel like it's a missing more than
- 32:43Speaker 2: just the tongue, like the whole mouth is almost it's.
- 32:45Speaker 1: Got to be some other part in there. Yeah, but
- 32:47Speaker 1: it's it's missing. I mean, that's much.
- 32:50Speaker 2: That would be more than because that first is like
- 32:51Speaker 2: an animal. But an animal would just probably like nibble
- 32:54Speaker 2: the tongue a bit.
- 32:55Speaker 1: There would be remnants of the tongue if it's an animal.
- 32:57Speaker 1: And remember there are the three meters under snow. How
- 33:00Speaker 1: can animals get to them under that much snow?
- 33:03Speaker 2: Well, prior to I was thinking.
- 33:04Speaker 1: Prior to maybe, but you're on dead Mountain. There's no
- 33:06Speaker 1: game up there.
- 33:08Speaker 2: I forgot about that. I forgot.
- 33:10Speaker 1: So there's there's a lot of theories surrounding that. But
- 33:12Speaker 1: there's a lot of a lot of questions. There's a
- 33:14Speaker 1: lot of questions in a lot of this.
- 33:16Speaker 2: The tongue is the weirdest part so far.
- 33:19Speaker 1: The tongue is definitely strange, let's put it that way.
- 33:23Speaker 1: So that's what we have for all these these individuals. However,
- 33:28Speaker 1: when it comes to the tongue in the autopsy, they
- 33:31Speaker 1: say that they were they found one hundred milligrams of
- 33:35Speaker 1: a blood in her stomach, which is signs. People say
- 33:38Speaker 1: that's a sign that her tongue was removed. When she
- 33:41Speaker 1: was alive. Oh alive?
- 33:46Speaker 2: Wow?
- 33:46Speaker 1: Could you imagine having your tongue removed?
- 33:48Speaker 2: I don't want to imagine that. That sounds awful.
- 33:52Speaker 1: It is like she got the worst of it. Oh
- 33:56Speaker 1: she did, for sure she did. But now get this,
- 33:59Speaker 1: So a lot of people say, like, because she had
- 34:01Speaker 1: the blood in her stomach, that means that she was
- 34:03Speaker 1: alive when it happened. The autopsy report says it was
- 34:06Speaker 1: a slimy mass in her stomach, hundred milligrams of a
- 34:09Speaker 1: slimy mass, like a bloody, slimy mass. Okay that it
- 34:12Speaker 1: doesn't say it's all blood, So it could be a
- 34:14Speaker 1: little bit of blood mixed in with like the food
- 34:16Speaker 1: she was eating, and it's just natural decomp that sort
- 34:19Speaker 1: of thing. So doesn't necessarily say that she was alive
- 34:23Speaker 1: because it could just be a little bit of blood
- 34:25Speaker 1: seeping down from when post mortem.
- 34:27Speaker 2: That's a lot of detail, I feel like, bh bit.
- 34:32Speaker 1: So that is what we have on all the autops
- 34:34Speaker 1: your reports, and I'm going to put the autopsy reports
- 34:36Speaker 1: where I got my information linked down below so you
- 34:38Speaker 1: guys can take a look.
- 34:38Speaker 2: If you really want, ive a bit deeper, if they'd like.
- 34:41Speaker 1: Yes, So that is what we found from all the bodies.
- 34:45Speaker 1: Now let's get into the theories. But before we get
- 34:47Speaker 1: into the theories, I want to know what do you
- 34:49Speaker 1: think happened? Where's your thought? Lie?
- 34:53Speaker 2: Well, okay, I was like all on this animal train
- 34:56Speaker 2: until you reminded me that it's dead mountain. So and oh.
- 35:00Speaker 2: I also had the feeling that maybe like there was
- 35:03Speaker 2: like an argument or they like it's partibly the group
- 35:07Speaker 2: separated or whatever and weren't happy with each other.
- 35:09Speaker 1: Yeah, not happy. That's definitely something that could happen.
- 35:11Speaker 2: But still, like, I mean, there are friends and to
- 35:14Speaker 2: go that wild on each other, that's that's a bit much.
- 35:16Speaker 1: But again, these injuries in the autopsy report says it
- 35:19Speaker 1: was like a car crash and impossible for a human
- 35:21Speaker 1: to inflict.
- 35:24Speaker 2: Right. Well, thanks, I had two theories.
- 35:27Speaker 1: All the problem is there is no perfect theory for this.
- 35:30Speaker 1: It's just trying to find the best one that fits
- 35:32Speaker 1: because it doesn't make sense. No theory so far makes sense.
- 35:36Speaker 2: Well, I mean, yeah, it's been a long time and
- 35:38Speaker 2: we're probably not going to solve it in our living room.
- 35:41Speaker 1: I mean I would like to, I would like to try.
- 35:43Speaker 1: Let's do it. Okay, So, oh, this is a thing
- 35:49Speaker 1: I have written down that I actually omitted because I
- 35:53Speaker 1: told you the diaphragm of the mouth and the tongue
- 35:55Speaker 1: is missing. That's straight out of the autopsy reports. For
- 35:57Speaker 1: the eyes, it says gaping orbits the eyeballs are missing
- 36:00Speaker 1: or absent. That's a quote from the report as well, gaping,
- 36:04Speaker 1: gaping orbits the eyeballs are absent. That's the quote from
- 36:07Speaker 1: the eyeballs in the report. Oh okay, okay, So now
- 36:11Speaker 1: that you know that, let's get into theories. There's several
- 36:15Speaker 1: theories that are going on here, and we're gonna we're
- 36:17Speaker 1: gonna try and dive into this and I'm gonna try
- 36:19Speaker 1: and give you all the information that I can. There's
- 36:21Speaker 1: there's too much to give, but I'll see what I
- 36:23Speaker 1: can do. So, first off, the most common thing people
- 36:27Speaker 1: go with, did you hear my voice crack? There? Most common?
- 36:30Speaker 2: Yeah, are you having puberty?
- 36:31Speaker 1: Maybe? Maybe I had a testicle just dropped there? Thirty
- 36:34Speaker 1: two years old, My first testical dropped nice. So the
- 36:37Speaker 1: most common theory is paradoxical undressing. Ever heard of it? No, Well,
- 36:44Speaker 1: I'm about to tell you about it.
- 36:46Speaker 2: I want to hear yeah, I do.
- 36:47Speaker 1: Let's do it. If you didn't, if you just said no,
- 36:49Speaker 1: the podcast would have just been over. Okay bye.
- 36:51Speaker 2: Oh it been that easy, yeap, just that easy.
- 36:53Speaker 1: Peace. So. Paradoxical undressing is when a hypothermia patient gets
- 36:59Speaker 1: so severe that they actually stop shivering and they get
- 37:05Speaker 1: so confused that their body actually tells them that they
- 37:08Speaker 1: are overheating and not freezing, and they remove their clothes.
- 37:12Speaker 2: That's why.
- 37:13Speaker 1: And this only happens in like twenty twenty five percent
- 37:15Speaker 1: of severe hypothermia patients.
- 37:17Speaker 2: That's sad, hey.
- 37:18Speaker 1: It is, and it's terrifying.
- 37:20Speaker 2: Oh, I would imagine you would just be completely terrifying.
- 37:22Speaker 1: I mean imagine like sticking your hand in like icy water.
- 37:25Speaker 1: Eventually it starts to feel like it's burning.
- 37:27Speaker 2: That's true.
- 37:27Speaker 1: I can only imagine that's probably what they're feeling is
- 37:30Speaker 1: that they.
- 37:30Speaker 2: Are burning up in their whole body.
- 37:33Speaker 1: So their brain is making them confused, and they are
- 37:34Speaker 1: feeling that they're burning up, and they are removing their
- 37:36Speaker 1: clothes to try and cool down and thus only making
- 37:39Speaker 1: it worse.
- 37:40Speaker 2: Wow.
- 37:42Speaker 1: However, this theory is pretty easily thrown out the window,
- 37:45Speaker 1: even just in the fact that you consider it's only
- 37:48Speaker 1: twenty five percent of severe hypothermia patients get this approximately
- 37:51Speaker 1: twenty five percent. And you have nine individuals that all
- 37:56Speaker 1: got paradoxical undressing at the same time in their tent
- 38:02Speaker 1: with a stove and they're warm their older clothes.
- 38:06Speaker 2: Oh, because they're thinking it started when they were in
- 38:07Speaker 2: their tent. Yeah, okay for them to be cutting from
- 38:10Speaker 2: the inside, so does that.
- 38:14Speaker 1: And even still some of these people are putting on
- 38:17Speaker 1: more clothes because they're found with multiple layers.
- 38:19Speaker 2: Well yeah, because some of them I felt like were
- 38:20Speaker 2: quite dressed.
- 38:21Speaker 1: So I mean even paradoxical undressing might have happened to
- 38:24Speaker 1: one or two of them, who knows that.
- 38:26Speaker 2: Yeah, but ones by the fire.
- 38:28Speaker 1: Yeah, a lot of them were not wearing many clothes.
- 38:30Speaker 1: Are definitely not fit for it. They're barefoot in a
- 38:32Speaker 1: lot of cases, or not barefoot, but in socks. So
- 38:35Speaker 1: that's one theory. Another theory, another popular theory is an avalanche.
- 38:40Speaker 1: Avalanche was coming, you know, they cut out of the
- 38:42Speaker 1: tent panicking, and they took off. However, they they didn't
- 38:47Speaker 1: just run away. There's calm footprints in the snow. They
- 38:51Speaker 1: walked away.
- 38:52Speaker 2: Calmly when their tents still standing, right, Yeah, the people
- 38:56Speaker 2: went to search.
- 38:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean mind you like it's cut open, it's
- 38:59Speaker 1: knocked down a little bit, and the wind and everything,
- 39:00Speaker 1: but there was no sign of an avalanche.
- 39:02Speaker 2: It would have been covered up.
- 39:03Speaker 1: Yeah, their tent was still there, Their footprints are not
- 39:06Speaker 1: covered up. The bodies that were found were not major
- 39:09Speaker 1: covered in snow, except the ones who were farther down
- 39:11Speaker 1: the mountain in a small ravine. Those ones could have
- 39:14Speaker 1: been covered in an avalanche because they were under three
- 39:16Speaker 1: meters of snow. They were found two months later, so
- 39:19Speaker 1: it's hard to show an avalanche at that time.
- 39:21Speaker 2: Okay, Yeah, that would make sense for them.
- 39:24Speaker 1: That group of people, Yes, the last four found.
- 39:27Speaker 2: But then you also said there was a camp by them.
- 39:30Speaker 1: Had they had a fire down there. Yeah, they were
- 39:32Speaker 1: trying to like make a fire and stay warm down there,
- 39:36Speaker 1: So then it could have been and that could explain
- 39:38Speaker 1: their their traumatic injuries down in that ravine. Okay, Yeah,
- 39:41Speaker 1: so that one makes sense, But that's farther down the
- 39:44Speaker 1: mountain past the tent, and there's no sign of an
- 39:47Speaker 1: avalanche up higher, but the tent and the other bodies.
- 39:50Speaker 2: An avalanche isn't going to take out your eyeballs and tongue.
- 39:53Speaker 1: It's not and like I said, they're under snow, and
- 39:55Speaker 1: then they were found in the spring, not because they
- 39:58Speaker 1: just melted, like they were digging them out to find them.
- 40:02Speaker 1: You can find photos where they're like literally digging them
- 40:05Speaker 1: out of the snow. So the eyeballs and stuff still
- 40:10Speaker 1: don't explain an avalanche. No, an avalanche would have covered
- 40:14Speaker 1: up the princes, would have covered up all the bodies,
- 40:16Speaker 1: would have covered up the tent. But it didn't and
- 40:17Speaker 1: there was no sign of an avalanche. The investigation of
- 40:19Speaker 1: that time reported no signs of an avalanche.
- 40:22Speaker 2: Unless the thing in her stomach was her tongue.
- 40:26Speaker 1: I mean, technically it could have been. She could have
- 40:28Speaker 1: shoot a kind of or something you can only chew
- 40:30Speaker 1: off so much like you can't go all the way
- 40:32Speaker 1: back for your tongue to be missing. It would have
- 40:34Speaker 1: been partially missing. But she could have bit her tongue
- 40:36Speaker 1: or something to explain the blood in her tongue's stomach.
- 40:38Speaker 1: That's very possible. So avalanche is another theory, and we
- 40:44Speaker 1: can also go into we're going to look left field
- 40:47Speaker 1: here a little bit. UFOs could have been alien activity.
- 40:52Speaker 1: They could have been I like UFO theories, but I
- 40:56Speaker 1: know they're they're slimmed to none chance I just entered.
- 41:00Speaker 1: Let's put it that way.
- 41:01Speaker 2: It explained some unknown things in the world.
- 41:03Speaker 1: It does. But the UFO theory really comes to and
- 41:07Speaker 1: here's a bit of a punt here, really comes to
- 41:09Speaker 1: light because there was orbits are orbs of light spotted
- 41:14Speaker 1: around the mountain prior to the same night of their
- 41:17Speaker 1: death and afterwards, as well by other hikers in the area,
- 41:22Speaker 1: by people on the rescue op and by military individuals,
- 41:26Speaker 1: also the local Nancy tribe. So several people reported these
- 41:30Speaker 1: orbs of light in the sky all over this mountain
- 41:34Speaker 1: prior to, during and.
- 41:35Speaker 2: After really that aren't normally there, that are not normally there.
- 41:39Speaker 2: That's interesting.
- 41:41Speaker 1: So I mean that there's a lot more that dives
- 41:44Speaker 1: into with this UFO theory, because I mean, like you said,
- 41:47Speaker 1: the tongue removal, the eye removal, who knows. I didn't
- 41:50Speaker 1: dive deep, too deep into it, because it's it was
- 41:52Speaker 1: a major rabbit hole, a lot of really stretched out theories.
- 41:56Speaker 1: But that was the main thing that could support the
- 41:59Speaker 1: UFO things. But the UFO thing, the orb the lights
- 42:02Speaker 1: in the sky, the orbs could be debunked by another theory,
- 42:08Speaker 1: which is the military, the military military. You're in the
- 42:11Speaker 1: middle of Soviet Russia during the Cold War and the
- 42:14Speaker 1: arms race, they're nuclear testing, and shit, I think rockets whatever.
- 42:20Speaker 2: And would that just look like an orb up in
- 42:21Speaker 2: the sky.
- 42:22Speaker 1: I think I think nighttime, So think like rockets in
- 42:25Speaker 1: the sky, spaceships like almost like it's an airplane off
- 42:27Speaker 1: in the distance, like you're seeing something like that. I mean,
- 42:30Speaker 1: that could explain the the orbs in the sky. That
- 42:33Speaker 1: could be the light the orbs that they see.
- 42:35Speaker 2: It could totally could so.
- 42:38Speaker 1: I mean that could be military, you know, things going on,
- 42:41Speaker 1: launching missiles. Who knows. Not only that three articles of
- 42:45Speaker 1: clothing that were found were found to be radioactive. Three
- 42:49Speaker 1: articles of clothing from the hikers are radioactive, radioactive higher
- 42:54Speaker 1: than normal radioactive levels. I've got on my phone here,
- 42:57Speaker 1: where's my phone over here?
- 42:58Speaker 2: I don't even know what that means, how that happens.
- 43:00Speaker 1: Well, first of all, my first question is why the
- 43:02Speaker 1: fuck are they testing for radioactivity?
- 43:04Speaker 2: True? Is that a normal thing?
- 43:06Speaker 1: I mean, you have nine hikers that go missing out
- 43:08Speaker 1: in the.
- 43:08Speaker 2: Freaking wilderness, they.
- 43:10Speaker 1: Find their dead bodies, Yeah, what are you gonna do?
- 43:13Speaker 1: Test them for radioactivity?
- 43:15Speaker 2: What that's weird.
- 43:16Speaker 1: That is definitely weird. So I've got it here, let
- 43:18Speaker 1: me see if I can find it.
- 43:19Speaker 2: I wonder, Yeah, yeah, I want to know why.
- 43:22Speaker 1: So the scale for testing radioactivity because everything around us
- 43:25Speaker 1: has some degree of radioactivity, right, Like your cup of
- 43:29Speaker 1: wine could be one hundred on this scale, anything over
- 43:32Speaker 1: five thousand dpm, and dpm stands for disintegrations per minute.
- 43:38Speaker 1: Whatever that means, I don't know. But the scale is
- 43:40Speaker 1: five thousand. Anything over that is an abnormal radioactive level. Okay,
- 43:44Speaker 1: so there was a pair of pants that registered five
- 43:47Speaker 1: thousand dpm, a shirt that registered five thousand, six hundred dpm,
- 43:51Speaker 1: and another shirt that registered nine nine hundred dpm.
- 43:55Speaker 2: That's high.
- 43:57Speaker 1: However, this can also kind of be debunked. Potentially, these
- 44:00Speaker 1: three articles of clothing belong to two individuals on the
- 44:04Speaker 1: crew who previously worked at nuclear facilities. Okay, but like
- 44:09Speaker 1: in one case, it was like two years ago.
- 44:11Speaker 2: Well, that shit probably doesn't wash out in the lock.
- 44:12Speaker 1: I mean, I can't imagine it.
- 44:14Speaker 2: I don't know, but it can't be to stay there
- 44:16Speaker 2: forever either.
- 44:16Speaker 1: But still, why the fuck are they testing for radioactivity?
- 44:19Speaker 1: That's right, If the radioactivity can be explained, why are
- 44:22Speaker 1: they testing for that in the first place?
- 44:25Speaker 2: I would like to know that.
- 44:26Speaker 1: And then another thing that they can say that they
- 44:28Speaker 1: said in the report is it could potentially just be
- 44:30Speaker 1: like atmospherical radioactive desks that just like particles or whatever
- 44:33Speaker 1: that just somehow attached itself, which is honestly sounds to
- 44:36Speaker 1: me like swamp gas, explains UFOs.
- 44:39Speaker 2: But maybe it's just high in that area too, and
- 44:41Speaker 2: maybe this is something they could cast.
- 44:43Speaker 1: But then why would that be the only thing that's radioactive?
- 44:46Speaker 1: Why not the rest of the clothes, tent or anything.
- 44:49Speaker 2: You know, I'm trying to explain what happened here.
- 44:51Speaker 1: And you're just not letting me well, because you can't
- 44:54Speaker 1: explain any of this so far. There's it's so weird.
- 44:58Speaker 1: Is the problem?
- 44:59Speaker 2: Very odd?
- 45:00Speaker 1: Now? And this is the biggest thing that supports the
- 45:01Speaker 1: military being involved here, or one of the biggest things.
- 45:06Speaker 1: So there are signed documents by government specific government officials
- 45:10Speaker 1: that are signed and dated multiple times. These dates, these
- 45:14Speaker 1: specific dates are written more than once on the same document,
- 45:19Speaker 1: So keep that in mind.
- 45:20Speaker 2: So they didn't just write the date wrong or something.
- 45:21Speaker 1: It wasn't written wrong. It was written this date multiple times.
- 45:27Speaker 1: So it was signed and dated February fifteenth, that they
- 45:34Speaker 1: knew of the group's death. Let that sink in February fifteenth,
- 45:40Speaker 1: they knew of the group's.
- 45:41Speaker 2: Death, but yet they didn't start searching until the twenty first, correct,
- 45:50Speaker 2: but the government knew.
- 45:51Speaker 1: There's government documents that are signed saying, oh, February fifteenth,
- 45:55Speaker 1: we know they're dead. We have we have found them
- 45:59Speaker 1: dead on February.
- 46:00Speaker 2: Fifteen, just left them there.
- 46:03Speaker 1: But the yeah, the search party wasn' even launched until
- 46:05Speaker 1: the twenty first.
- 46:07Speaker 2: Okay, that's really weird.
- 46:09Speaker 1: And there's other documents that say six days before the
- 46:11Speaker 1: search party even dispatched. Hold on, hold on, what do
- 46:17Speaker 1: I have here? Okay? Sorry, that's sorry, Yes, here we go.
- 46:24Speaker 1: So on February sixth, they already launched their own search party.
- 46:30Speaker 1: The government launched their search party on February sixth, and
- 46:33Speaker 1: they found their dead bodies on the fifteenth. That's what
- 46:36Speaker 1: the signed documents are dated, signed saying what they were
- 46:41Speaker 1: supposed to return on the twelfth, and the government already
- 46:43Speaker 1: launched the investigation on the sixth.
- 46:45Speaker 2: And because what day did they leave again.
- 46:47Speaker 1: They left the twenty eighth. I think.
- 46:53Speaker 2: Really that doesn't make any sense and you can.
- 46:57Speaker 1: I'll put a link down below in it. It was
- 46:59Speaker 1: a discuss channel, like a documentary sort of thing that
- 47:03Speaker 1: I found that I watched this on and they actually
- 47:05Speaker 1: have copies of these documents and they're showing up they're
- 47:07Speaker 1: talking about it. I'll put that down in the description
- 47:09Speaker 1: doublow as well and in the notes.
- 47:11Speaker 2: Did they not question these I mean, I guess I
- 47:13Speaker 2: questioned these dates. That's really weird.
- 47:16Speaker 1: By all accounts, these documents shouldn't exist, but they.
- 47:19Speaker 2: Do, and if someone needs to be held accountable for that,
- 47:23Speaker 2: that doesn't make any sense.
- 47:25Speaker 1: So you've covered paradoxical undressing avalanche UFO military. Another popular
- 47:31Speaker 1: theory is a yetti YETI A YETI a bombable snowman
- 47:36Speaker 1: sam switch up in the mountains. You know.
- 47:40Speaker 2: I thought it might bringin like Dumbler right.
- 47:42Speaker 1: Away, the ye cool. No, like the actual ye yety
- 47:46Speaker 1: because there was I should have actually wrote the quote down.
- 47:48Speaker 1: I didn't write it down, but there was a quote
- 47:51Speaker 1: in one of the journals, and I might get this
- 47:53Speaker 1: quote wrong, but it said something along the lines of
- 47:56Speaker 1: we now know the snowmen are real, really yeah, whatever
- 48:01Speaker 1: the fuck that.
- 48:01Speaker 2: Means that that yeah.
- 48:06Speaker 1: Not only that there is an image that was taken
- 48:09Speaker 1: on one of the cameras of a figure in the trees. Now,
- 48:14Speaker 1: this could be one of the group. It's a very
- 48:16Speaker 1: silhouette like figure, but it looks very much like a
- 48:19Speaker 1: YETI too.
- 48:20Speaker 2: I want to see it.
- 48:22Speaker 1: We'll post it up on Instagram. We'll post it on
- 48:23Speaker 1: Instagram so you guys can take a look too, if
- 48:25Speaker 1: you want to find it. It's on our Instagram. So
- 48:28Speaker 1: this is a really weird one, but there's a little
- 48:30Speaker 1: bit of evidence to back it up, which is kind
- 48:32Speaker 1: of crazy. So we have the YETI. Now this is
- 48:36Speaker 1: the most logical explanation I found, which I found a
- 48:41Speaker 1: YouTuber talking about it. I never found anyone else talking
- 48:43Speaker 1: about it, so it might be his theory. Again, I'll
- 48:45Speaker 1: put it in the footnotes. Smoke inhalation.
- 48:49Speaker 2: Smoke inhalation.
- 48:50Speaker 1: Yeah, okay, picture this. You're in a tent. They had
- 48:54Speaker 1: a little camp stove in the tent keeping warm, Yeah,
- 48:57Speaker 1: keeping warm. They even found like bacon in there in
- 48:59Speaker 1: the stomach and stuff. Because I'm making food, they're eating
- 49:02Speaker 1: from this camp stove. So they're lighting fires and stuff
- 49:05Speaker 1: and this camp stove. And it could be that it
- 49:07Speaker 1: something faulted out in the way they assembled it, or
- 49:10Speaker 1: they're disassembling it for whatever reason, m and smoke started
- 49:13Speaker 1: filling up the tent to a degree that they couldn't see,
- 49:16Speaker 1: they couldn't breathe, and they had to escape, or they
- 49:18Speaker 1: were trying to slash the tent let smoke escape, and
- 49:21Speaker 1: they scrambled out escaping through what they slashed through.
- 49:23Speaker 2: With the knife and it was too smoky just to open.
- 49:26Speaker 1: Those could have been so that explained some burns because
- 49:31Speaker 1: not only the first two victims that we found burns
- 49:33Speaker 1: on his left side of his head and that sort
- 49:34Speaker 1: of stuff. There was burns on clothes even in photos.
- 49:36Speaker 1: There was proof of burns on clothes prior to their
- 49:40Speaker 1: their their deaths. There's multiple minor burns found without this
- 49:43Speaker 1: whole case could explain those burns as well, but it
- 49:47Speaker 1: doesn't explain why they walk away from the tent. That's
- 49:50Speaker 1: the thing that well even still like, why did they
- 49:54Speaker 1: leave the tent? You know it's smoky, you're not gonna
- 49:56Speaker 1: you're barefoot and stuff. There's nothing to run from or
- 49:58Speaker 1: nothing to walk away aired out. So that's the part
- 50:02Speaker 1: that's sketchy about this theory. But anyways, they leave for
- 50:05Speaker 1: whatever reason and they make up camp. The group could
- 50:08Speaker 1: have potentially split up, which could result in why there's
- 50:13Speaker 1: fight marks or whatever on fists and bruisings and face
- 50:17Speaker 1: some sort of fight happened of disagreement because they're now
- 50:20Speaker 1: in peril and they cut open their tent.
- 50:21Speaker 2: Oh yeah, they're like completely screwed.
- 50:23Speaker 1: So the first five stayed up on the tree line
- 50:26Speaker 1: and the other four went down to the lower into
- 50:30Speaker 1: the ravine. Those four got hit with a small avalanche
- 50:33Speaker 1: below them, causing the trauma. Doesn't explain the eyes and
- 50:36Speaker 1: tongue missing, but it does explain the trauma like a
- 50:39Speaker 1: car crash and why they were buried under so much snow.
- 50:42Speaker 1: The rest of the ones of the tree line, the
- 50:44Speaker 1: first two froze to death, and the other three decided
- 50:47Speaker 1: to turn back and go back up to the tent
- 50:50Speaker 1: but never made it, and that could explain why Igor
- 50:54Speaker 1: Yatlov was wearing one of the other guy's shirts who
- 50:56Speaker 1: had passed away. Okay, that is the most logical theory
- 51:01Speaker 1: to me, though it's not bulletproof. There's still holes in it.
- 51:06Speaker 2: And sorry, this was the YouTuber No, yes, this was.
- 51:09Speaker 1: A YouTube guy who was talking about this theory. He
- 51:12Speaker 1: talks about the entire events, and near the end, at
- 51:14Speaker 1: the very end, he talks about this piece. I'll put
- 51:17Speaker 1: that YouTube video in the show notes.
- 51:19Speaker 2: I mean, yeah, it's a thought through theory, but yeah,
- 51:21Speaker 2: there's still some loopholes in.
- 51:22Speaker 1: There, definitely. Now, okay, we gotta wind this down now,
- 51:26Speaker 1: but there is a couple more little things I'm gonna
- 51:29Speaker 1: note here. There was a nurse who did the autopsies,
- 51:33Speaker 1: and she is now like eighty six years old, maybe
- 51:35Speaker 1: a little older by now. But by the time she
- 51:36Speaker 1: gave this what's the word I'm looking for, statement, statement, sure,
- 51:44Speaker 1: claim whatever. When she gave this statement, this claim, she
- 51:48Speaker 1: was at eighty six years old. She was working as
- 51:50Speaker 1: an autopsy on these bodies, and she autopsied the bodies individually.
- 51:55Speaker 1: But she said there was not nine bodies, but there
- 51:58Speaker 1: was eleven, two.
- 52:00Speaker 2: More bodies, two more bodies, just randomly.
- 52:03Speaker 1: Her husband also worked on the autopsies, and he claims
- 52:06Speaker 1: there was nine.
- 52:08Speaker 2: Oh wow, So you have two separate stories in the
- 52:10Speaker 2: same household.
- 52:11Speaker 1: It's interesting one hundred percent, like you think these two
- 52:14Speaker 1: would be on the same page, but to be fair,
- 52:15Speaker 1: we're never on the same page. Maybe I can get
- 52:17Speaker 1: it a little bit. However, she claims there's eleven. There's
- 52:22Speaker 1: no proof of this whatsoever other than her claim, a
- 52:24Speaker 1: claim of an eighty six year old woman. But this
- 52:28Speaker 1: is where it gets a little weird and gives her
- 52:30Speaker 1: a little bit of credibility. Potentially, you're a Uden, the
- 52:34Speaker 1: tenth hiker who turned back and actually survived this h
- 52:37Speaker 1: He's testified that there was both a journal missing and
- 52:43Speaker 1: a camera missing that have never been found, which is
- 52:45Speaker 1: I mean, not irregular up in the wilderness, and that's
- 52:47Speaker 1: sort of sa But this journal was held very closely
- 52:51Speaker 1: at all times by one of these individuals. He never
- 52:54Speaker 1: did not have it on him, So if it was
- 52:56Speaker 1: not on him, it would have been in the tent
- 52:58Speaker 1: and it was not ever found. Interesting and also among
- 53:02Speaker 1: the items found there was a pair of glasses and
- 53:04Speaker 1: a pair of skis that Yuri says did not belong
- 53:07Speaker 1: to any of the members on the hike.
- 53:11Speaker 2: Yeah, but he does he actually remember what everybody had.
- 53:14Speaker 1: I'm pretty sure he's gonna remember a pair of skis
- 53:16Speaker 1: if if someone has.
- 53:17Speaker 2: They have skis or not.
- 53:18Speaker 1: Yes, they had skis they left by foot and skis
- 53:21Speaker 1: they were skiing up there. You can see in the
- 53:22Speaker 1: photos that they're all in like cross country skis and such.
- 53:25Speaker 2: Huh. I don't know. I mean, I don't know if
- 53:28Speaker 2: I would remember what I packed in my own pack.
- 53:30Speaker 1: He testifies to it, though, he says that those are
- 53:32Speaker 1: not our skis and those are not our glasses. Okay,
- 53:36Speaker 1: so who knows now you're a uten is actually his theory.
- 53:39Speaker 1: He falls in under the military category. That's what he
- 53:42Speaker 1: believes happened, something with the military, that they stumbled on
- 53:45Speaker 1: something that they shouldn't have. Something happened. And I think
- 53:49Speaker 1: with him, you think so, Yeah, I'm leaning towards the
- 53:53Speaker 1: smoke inhalation theory. It makes the most sense, though it's
- 53:55Speaker 1: not bulletproof. There's still stuff. But that's That's where I'm going.
- 53:59Speaker 1: I gotta go this. It explains the burns. It's the
- 54:02Speaker 1: only one that explains them really rapidly getting out of
- 54:05Speaker 1: the tent to me.
- 54:06Speaker 2: But then to walk from that seems weird.
- 54:09Speaker 1: It does.
- 54:10Speaker 2: It does, unless their footprints got covered up or something
- 54:12Speaker 2: and it's just other people like walking.
- 54:16Speaker 1: Maybe maybe that was the military, because the military notes
- 54:20Speaker 1: show that they were there prior to so maybe from them,
- 54:23Speaker 1: maybe those were them. Maybe their footprints got covered up
- 54:27Speaker 1: and the military who came in by those documents later
- 54:29Speaker 1: on it's their foot me maybe maybe maybe done dune Dunn.
- 54:35Speaker 2: Maybe one day we'll find out.
- 54:36Speaker 1: Who knows. Although there was an investigation launched last year
- 54:39Speaker 1: into it twenty nineteen.
- 54:41Speaker 2: They're still actively reach.
- 54:43Speaker 1: Twenty nineteen, the Russian government launched an investigation back into it,
- 54:46Speaker 1: and in twenty twenty they closed it with the conclusion
- 54:49Speaker 1: that it was an avalanche, even though in the very
- 54:54Speaker 1: first investigation there was no signs of an avalanche. Their
- 54:57Speaker 1: tent was not covered, these footprints aren't covered, their bodies
- 55:00Speaker 1: are not covered other than just a little bit of
- 55:02Speaker 1: snow drifting.
- 55:02Speaker 2: So, yeah, no, just another weird thing to add to
- 55:05Speaker 2: twenty twenty, Right's yeah, no.
- 55:09Speaker 1: So this is the case of the Diatlov Past incident.
- 55:12Speaker 1: It's one of my favorites. Of course I had to
- 55:14Speaker 1: start with this. It was an amazing, amazing, well not
- 55:17Speaker 1: an amazing, it's it was fun to dive into it.
- 55:20Speaker 1: And man, I can't imagine if I were up on there,
- 55:22Speaker 1: the tear of these people were.
- 55:23Speaker 2: So yeah, it's very tragic, so said.
- 55:26Speaker 1: Hopefully we actually figure it out one day, and though
- 55:28Speaker 1: these people are put to rest. I believe, not all
- 55:30Speaker 1: of them. I think there's seven or eight of them
- 55:32Speaker 1: that are laid to rest, all together in a graveyard
- 55:35Speaker 1: nearby the one of the towns, and there is a
- 55:37Speaker 1: memorial for all of them together there as well.
- 55:39Speaker 2: Oh that'd be cool to see that. Hey, yeah, it
- 55:41Speaker 2: would be yeah.
- 55:43Speaker 1: And if you want to see more, Like I said,
- 55:44Speaker 1: we go to post some photos on our Instagram, So
- 55:46Speaker 1: head over to Wicketing Grim on Instagram. You'll see some
- 55:49Speaker 1: photos and we're gonna be posting more there as more
- 55:52Speaker 1: stories come out and as we talk about more cases.
- 55:56Speaker 2: It's number one, number one.
- 55:57Speaker 1: We have many more to go. So here's here's who
- 55:59Speaker 1: Are our podcast, the first podcast of many Cheers cheers.
- 56:04Speaker 1: We got to think of an outro, though, because how
- 56:06Speaker 1: are we gonna end this? Just buy just what's up?
- 56:08Speaker 1: I don't know what are we gonna do? What's our outro?
- 56:11Speaker 2: Stay wicked?
- 56:13Speaker 1: You know that's not bad. Stay wicked, Stay Wicked. I
- 56:17Speaker 1: like it. Stay Wicked. Guys. We'll see you next time.
