  SPEAKER_01: Here's a brief thought as we begin a new week.

  SPEAKER_01: When Lolly and I were reading the Book of Psalms, I tried to put myself in the place of the psalmist to see whether I could genuinely and meaningfully say the words he had written.

  SPEAKER_01: Listen to these verses from Psalm 119.

  SPEAKER_01: How sweet are thy words unto my taste.

  SPEAKER_01: Yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth.

  SPEAKER_01: And I will delight myself in thy commandments, which I have loved.

  SPEAKER_01: Oh, how love I thy law.

  SPEAKER_01: It is my meditation all the day.

  SPEAKER_01: So I ask you, have you ever expressed thoughts like these?

  SPEAKER_01: Have you ever said to yourself as you read the scriptures, These words are sweet to me, as sweet as honey?

  SPEAKER_01: I've actually said something like that to myself, and perhaps you have too.

  SPEAKER_01: But what about the Lord's commandments?

  SPEAKER_01: I'm sure you have felt grateful for them, but have you ever said that you delight in them?

  SPEAKER_01: And have you probably been grateful for his law, but have you ever said it is my meditation all the day?

  SPEAKER_01: Here is my thought for today.

  SPEAKER_01: Our love for God's words, his law, and his commandments may be one of the most powerful expressions of our love for him.

  SPEAKER_01: We usually think of it the other way around.
• 1:44
  SPEAKER_01: The more I love God, the more inclined I will be to keep his commandments.

  SPEAKER_01: And that is certainly true.

  SPEAKER_01: But perhaps the reverse is also true.

  SPEAKER_01: As I learn to love his commandments, my love for God deepens.

  SPEAKER_01: As I delight in his law, I draw closer to the lawgiver.

  SPEAKER_01: My goal is to delight in his commandments.

  SPEAKER_01: That's my personal hope.

  SPEAKER_01: To love his law and to taste the sweetness of his words every day.
