- 0:07Speaker 2: YO, Bootleg cap Podcast Man special guests in here, Hurricane.
- 0:11Speaker 1: Chris, what's popping? What's good?
- 0:13Speaker 3: What's good?
- 0:13Speaker 1: Bro?
- 0:14Speaker 3: Welcome, Nice to meet you, likewise, bro to meet you.
- 0:16Speaker 3: It's crazy because when you started, like your career, I
- 0:20Speaker 3: feel like it was around the time I was like
- 0:21Speaker 3: interning at the radio station, so like you're and like
- 0:25Speaker 3: when I first started like DJ and the club and yeah,
- 0:28Speaker 3: so like you you know, like a bay bays and
- 0:31Speaker 3: and make it clap and all that, it was very
- 0:34Speaker 3: like instrumental and like I like remember where I was
- 0:37Speaker 3: in life for them songs.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah yeah. A lot of people say that,
- 0:40Speaker 1: they say my music bring them back to exactly what
- 0:43Speaker 1: they was doing when I first came out. You know,
- 0:45Speaker 1: it's it really marked a special time right in people lives.
- 0:49Speaker 1: You know, like a lot of people kids first words
- 0:51Speaker 1: was so crazy, you know, it's it's a blessing.
- 0:56Speaker 3: I gotta ask you, uh, I saw you, I saw
- 0:58Speaker 3: you share your thoughts a little bit about this. But
- 1:00Speaker 3: you know, there's been a lot of people who are
- 1:02Speaker 3: upset that Lil Wayne did not get to look for
- 1:04Speaker 3: the halftime show in New Orleans. Obviously, you know you're
- 1:08Speaker 3: in Louisiana. What are your thoughts on on Wayne getting
- 1:12Speaker 3: that snub and obviously shot to Kendrick. I think, obviously,
- 1:15Speaker 3: if anybody deserves to do a halftime show, Kendrick's one
- 1:18Speaker 3: of them.
- 1:18Speaker 1: Yeah, with Kendrick heavy, like for sure, they're real golden.
- 1:24Speaker 1: But it's a bigger play at hand right now. What's
- 1:27Speaker 1: happening is a lot of big entities in large companies
- 1:33Speaker 1: are finding places that they can profit and make high
- 1:36Speaker 1: profit margins, and they pretend to cater to the community
- 1:45Speaker 1: just enough to get the support they need, and then
- 1:50Speaker 1: they go with their hitting agenda, which is to make
- 1:53Speaker 1: ultimately the most money they can possibly make. So it's
- 1:56Speaker 1: a bigger play at hand. In Louisiana, it's always it's
- 2:00Speaker 1: been a place that didn't have a lot of resources.
- 2:03Speaker 1: So if anybody came from upstate or out of town
- 2:07Speaker 1: with a lot of resources, they was kind of able
- 2:10Speaker 1: to throw their weight around and and you know, like
- 2:14Speaker 1: you know, like put themselves in in positions. So it's
- 2:18Speaker 1: it's it's really a bigger player. And we getting to
- 2:21Speaker 1: a point in time now where people don't like to
- 2:25Speaker 1: pay homage. You got youngsters who say, oh geez right right,
- 2:31Speaker 1: like so you got you got a whole new era
- 2:34Speaker 1: of disrespect that's coming into play. And it's the same
- 2:38Speaker 1: thing in the industry. People have begun to just feel
- 2:42Speaker 1: like it's cool to not pay hummage. It's cool to
- 2:44Speaker 1: not you know, to to pay their respects that need
- 2:47Speaker 1: to be paid. So that's the big thing that I see.
- 2:51Speaker 1: I'm not just mad that Wayne ain't get to perform,
- 2:54Speaker 1: because let's just be honest, like, you know what I'm saying,
- 2:57Speaker 1: it's a it's it's it's it's it's a law much
- 3:00Speaker 1: movie that I'm looking at. And this is gonna continue
- 3:03Speaker 1: to happen. It ain't just gonna be what's happening in Shreeport.
- 3:06Speaker 1: It ain't just gonna be what happened in New Orleans.
- 3:08Speaker 1: If we don't stand up and and and and demand
- 3:11Speaker 1: that people respect our culture and demand what we want,
- 3:16Speaker 1: then we'll never get it. It's the same thing that
- 3:19Speaker 1: that that that every other status learned how to do
- 3:23Speaker 1: California know how to do it. If you come to Cali,
- 3:25Speaker 1: Cali gonna make sure you do some type of catering
- 3:28Speaker 1: to Cali or you won't really be accepted, you know
- 3:31Speaker 1: what I'm saying.
- 3:32Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean when the Super Bowl was here, obviously
- 3:33Speaker 3: doctor Dre had the halftime show and he was able
- 3:36Speaker 3: to bring out kind of like parts of his tree,
- 3:38Speaker 3: you know, right r.
- 3:40Speaker 1: But the people in position in Louisiana. L. Kendrick came
- 3:43Speaker 1: out that the problem is the people in position in
- 3:46Speaker 1: Louisiana that that make the decisions instead of instead of
- 3:50Speaker 1: loving a culture and and and and embracing their culture,
- 3:54Speaker 1: they so they're trying to get relationships with with people
- 3:58Speaker 1: in places that they've never been to. So it's leading
- 4:01Speaker 1: to them looking over their own people that's right there
- 4:03Speaker 1: and honoring people that never done nothing for certain communities,
- 4:08Speaker 1: which is not their fault. It's not my fault that
- 4:11Speaker 1: somebody choose to honor me in your community. But what
- 4:14Speaker 1: we got to do as a people as a whole
- 4:18Speaker 1: is make sure that we hold those responsible accountable the people.
- 4:22Speaker 1: When I go to do the Super Bowl, I'm talking
- 4:24Speaker 1: to somebody in the city from the city somebody who
- 4:28Speaker 1: who or somebody from the league. You feel what I'm saying,
- 4:31Speaker 1: I'm speaking I'm dealing with some type of official it's
- 4:35Speaker 1: a lot of chains of command that these things go through.
- 4:39Speaker 3: Well, from what I understand, Rock Nation is in charge
- 4:42Speaker 3: of the entertainment for the Super Bowl, since I want
- 4:46Speaker 3: to say, the first one they did was Rihanna, So
- 4:48Speaker 3: I think it was Rihanna, then fifty and then last
- 4:51Speaker 3: year was Usher. Okay, well fifty was a doctor j year,
- 4:56Speaker 3: but and then last year was Usher, and then this
- 4:57Speaker 3: year would be Kendrick. So I think it's a Rock
- 5:00Speaker 3: Nation thing, and it seems like but.
- 5:01Speaker 1: See, it's always been able to be put on companies
- 5:06Speaker 1: and entities, and I think that's the easy way out.
- 5:09Speaker 4: I think that's the easy way out.
- 5:10Speaker 1: Is to say, oh, such and such makes this decision,
- 5:12Speaker 1: and they did it because it is I look at
- 5:14Speaker 1: stuff for what it is and what it actually looks like,
- 5:17Speaker 1: not like, oh, well, hurricane Chris is doing this because
- 5:21Speaker 1: he signed in such and such or such and such
- 5:22Speaker 1: as this recorde. But I'm just look at me for
- 5:25Speaker 1: for what I look like. And I bag up and
- 5:28Speaker 1: I look at the history of what's been happening over
- 5:31Speaker 1: the last couple of years, and it's been a repetitive
- 5:34Speaker 1: history of not honoring the people from the community that
- 5:39Speaker 1: helped build the community, but honoring people outside of the
- 5:42Speaker 1: community right there in their face. And if it's the
- 5:45Speaker 1: companies that's doing it without having proper knowledge, then it's
- 5:49Speaker 1: the people that's that's leaders of the community and involved
- 5:53Speaker 1: in the community. It's their job to step up and
- 5:55Speaker 1: let the people in power know, Hey, let's let's let's
- 5:59Speaker 1: let's let's let's.
- 6:00Speaker 4: Kind of cater to the culture a little bit.
- 6:02Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, Because if I was to
- 6:03Speaker 1: come into your city as a promoter and I say,
- 6:06Speaker 1: I'm finna book all these artists, You're gonna slow me
- 6:09Speaker 1: down and make sure I cater to somebody that this
- 6:12Speaker 1: city likes.
- 6:14Speaker 3: Yeah, I think that that would be fair as hell.
- 6:16Speaker 1: As a friend, I think that.
- 6:18Speaker 3: I just think that the super Bowl is just so
- 6:19Speaker 3: massive that it's like the fact that it's like it's
- 6:23Speaker 3: going to be in New orleans's bringing so much money
- 6:25Speaker 3: to like the economy. So it's like the entertainment aspect
- 6:28Speaker 3: of the halftime show is probably just like, well, we'll
- 6:30Speaker 3: just leave it up to these guys. And I wonder, like,
- 6:33Speaker 3: you know, a lot, you know, there's a lot of
- 6:35Speaker 3: speculation that Jay had some sort of issues with Wayne
- 6:42Speaker 3: or Drake and that that might have spilled over to
- 6:44Speaker 3: the decision. I'm not sure. Yeah, I mean, because but
- 6:49Speaker 3: I think that's all speculation.
- 6:51Speaker 4: Yeah, I don't think Jay got no smoke with.
- 6:53Speaker 3: I think that there's another like like way to look
- 6:55Speaker 3: at it, and that's that like if you really kind
- 6:58Speaker 3: of see.
- 6:58Speaker 1: I don't put the blame on Jada. Let's let's get
- 7:01Speaker 1: this straight. I don't put the blame on Jay because
- 7:03Speaker 1: you gotta think he coming. He doing a million things,
- 7:06Speaker 1: so so of course people may get mad at him
- 7:09Speaker 1: in the beginning, but when you sit back and you
- 7:11Speaker 1: think about it, it's it's one of a million things
- 7:16Speaker 1: that he's doing. So I don't I don't look at
- 7:18Speaker 1: it like he personally attempting to insult, you know what
- 7:23Speaker 1: I'm saying, Like, I'm not looking at it like that.
- 7:25Speaker 4: Now, if it's something going on on the inside that
- 7:27Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 7:27Speaker 1: About, then I need to should have figged up possibly
- 7:29Speaker 1: understand what I'm saying, because if it's that they're just
- 7:31Speaker 1: sitting here getting speculating.
- 7:33Speaker 3: I mean. The other thing is is like I've seen
- 7:35Speaker 3: Wayne recently, like he did he did WrestleMania in Philly
- 7:41Speaker 3: and his performance was very interesting. He forgot a lot
- 7:44Speaker 3: of his lyrics, so it could be ship like that,
- 7:46Speaker 3: you know, like, hey, some of the bigger performances, like.
- 7:48Speaker 1: Maybe if he performed in New Orleans, he wouldn't even
- 7:50Speaker 1: have to sing his lyrics.
- 7:51Speaker 3: I don't disagree. I mean they gonna sing. No, I
- 7:53Speaker 3: don't disagree. I would have liked to have seen Wayne
- 7:55Speaker 3: or at least like a young money you know, Wayne
- 7:58Speaker 3: NICKI Drake thing. I mean, hopefully Kendrick. I mean, here's
- 8:01Speaker 3: the thing.
- 8:04Speaker 1: You got to think about some of these artists, some
- 8:09Speaker 1: of us actually reach out to these entities and acts.
- 8:11Speaker 4: Can we be involved?
- 8:12Speaker 1: Right? Some of us actually let it be known that
- 8:16Speaker 1: we would like to be involved, right, so we can
- 8:21Speaker 1: we can kind of try to say, well, it's not
- 8:23Speaker 1: a personal thing. But what if what if? What if?
- 8:27Speaker 1: What if you call and reach out and you ask
- 8:30Speaker 1: to be involved and you still reject it? You know
- 8:32Speaker 1: what I'm saying, Like.
- 8:34Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean, look, it could be. And like the
- 8:35Speaker 3: other thing is is like like we said, it's like
- 8:37Speaker 3: if this is a personal thing that we don't know
- 8:39Speaker 3: about and it's just some some grudge that intertwined into
- 8:43Speaker 3: this decision. I mean, then then That's just what it is.
- 8:46Speaker 3: And then the other thing that sucks is I saw
- 8:48Speaker 3: somebody say on Twitter it was like, well if Kendrick,
- 8:51Speaker 3: it sucks as if Kendrick plan on bringing Wayne out, now,
- 8:55Speaker 3: people are just going to think that he did it
- 8:56Speaker 3: because he was pressured to do it, as opposed to
- 8:58Speaker 3: he just wanted to do it. You know what I'm saying, Man,
- 9:00Speaker 3: Like I think, Nah, Kendrick smart, you gotta bring Wayne
- 9:02Speaker 3: Kenja get smart, Kendrick go like Iwayne out, bro Kendrick
- 9:06Speaker 3: gets smart.
- 9:07Speaker 1: He wouldn't be doing that because he's pressured, right to
- 9:09Speaker 1: be honest, like, I would think that that's probably something
- 9:14Speaker 1: that win in his head immediately, like.
- 9:15Speaker 3: Oh for sure, like I got to bring Wayne out
- 9:17Speaker 3: I'm in New Orleans, or I got to bring something.
- 9:20Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying, Like, that's just how we think.
- 9:22Speaker 1: Because if I go to a city and I'm performing
- 9:24Speaker 1: in a big city and I got a big event, right,
- 9:27Speaker 1: I'm gonna try to tap into who popping in that area.
- 9:30Speaker 1: So I wouldn't doubt that, you know, Kendrick thing.
- 9:32Speaker 3: Like that he brings Wayne out, that'd be spech Kendrick
- 9:34Speaker 3: Gaylan dumb by far like so recently, Uh, you and
- 9:38Speaker 3: fifty have been going back and forth. I know you
- 9:41Speaker 3: spoke a little bit about it on Vlad. I'm curious
- 9:45Speaker 3: for the people who don't know. Like obviously, fifty opened
- 9:48Speaker 3: up his gun the movie studios in your hometown, right, Uh,
- 9:52Speaker 3: he had like a weekend. Right, It was like like
- 9:54Speaker 3: a whole weekend where people were coming to town and
- 9:57Speaker 3: performing events, et cetera. Right, your grudge with him was
- 10:04Speaker 3: that he did not necessarily reach out to pillars of
- 10:10Speaker 3: the community like you think he should have.
- 10:13Speaker 1: Is that?
- 10:13Speaker 3: Am I on track? There?
- 10:15Speaker 1: You're kind of on track. But it started before that.
- 10:17Speaker 3: Okay.
- 10:18Speaker 1: The first thing he did when he came to the city, Trepot,
- 10:20Speaker 1: Louisiana has been called ratchet city for a real long time.
- 10:23Speaker 3: Let's get get it.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Yeah, for sure, you know about it, all right, So
- 10:27Speaker 1: the first thing he did when he came to the city,
- 10:29Speaker 1: everybody opened their arms and welcomed him, right, and then
- 10:32Speaker 1: he said, no more ratchet in my city. We're getting this.
- 10:35Speaker 4: Ratchet shit out of here.
- 10:37Speaker 3: He said that out of his mouth, out of his.
- 10:39Speaker 4: Own mouth, with his lips and teeth and tongue.
- 10:41Speaker 3: Wow.
- 10:43Speaker 1: And the radio host said, hey, man, you know they
- 10:45Speaker 1: kind of crazy about that, you know, that's their thing.
- 10:47Speaker 4: He said, no, no, no, we got to get that
- 10:48Speaker 4: out of here.
- 10:49Speaker 1: So I reach out immediately like, hey, we need to
- 10:52Speaker 1: sit down and have a talk.
- 10:54Speaker 4: I didn't get no response.
- 10:55Speaker 1: So now getting calls from my neighborhood and they saying, hey,
- 11:00Speaker 1: what's what, what's wrong with fifty saying Ratchet is dead
- 11:03Speaker 1: and it ain't no more Ratchett City. Like that's kind
- 11:06Speaker 1: of disrespectful, don't you think, right? So I didn't pay
- 11:10Speaker 1: no attention. And then I've seen a sign that the
- 11:13Speaker 1: news poster that said fifty cent Councilors Ratchett City. I'm like, oh,
- 11:18Speaker 1: they going crazy with this ship. Okay, fuck all the
- 11:21Speaker 1: money that you, fuck all of that, fuck all this
- 11:24Speaker 1: shit up you Now you you being disrespectful.
- 11:26Speaker 4: This is straight disrespect. So that's how I took it.
- 11:30Speaker 1: So now when I see you do the event and
- 11:34Speaker 1: you don't even involve no Ratchet City artists on the
- 11:38Speaker 1: main stage, I'm looking at it like, so it's even
- 11:41Speaker 1: more of something that's snowballing in my mind that you're
- 11:44Speaker 1: against this Ratchet movement, which.
- 11:46Speaker 3: If I go to the Baby, it'd be like coming
- 11:48Speaker 3: to La and being like no more gangster rap, are.
- 11:51Speaker 1: Gone going going going over. Yeah. And if you listen
- 11:56Speaker 1: to my song the Ratchet remix e forty on there,
- 11:59Speaker 1: he say a babe Bay. Yeah, I mean he's gonna
- 12:02Speaker 1: say he say, he say Ratchet mean high feel like
- 12:04Speaker 1: where you stay? Yeah, I mean's so it's something that
- 12:06Speaker 1: been understood and it takes somebody like fifty who don't
- 12:10Speaker 1: understand the culture of the South. All he see is, oh,
- 12:12Speaker 1: I could buy these buildings and make a bunch of
- 12:14Speaker 1: money and give a cook.
- 12:15Speaker 3: I'm assuming the real estate market in Treeport is a
- 12:18Speaker 3: lot more affordable to open up a studio than if
- 12:20Speaker 3: you were to go to La.
- 12:22Speaker 1: Super cheap, Yeah, super super duper cheap. And the state
- 12:25Speaker 1: the city was trying to like beg somebody to take
- 12:28Speaker 1: that building because they built it for purposes of helping
- 12:31Speaker 1: the community. It was none profits involved with it. It
- 12:33Speaker 1: was supposed to be teaching the community and right and
- 12:36Speaker 1: a lot of stuff was supposed to happen and it
- 12:37Speaker 1: never happened. So they needed that to be taken off
- 12:39Speaker 1: of their hands because it was just sitting and nobody
- 12:42Speaker 1: was doing nothing with it. So it was actually a
- 12:44Speaker 1: good idea, and it was the perfect idea, you know
- 12:46Speaker 1: what I'm saying for him to do that. But I'm
- 12:50Speaker 1: down with all of that, but you just we just
- 12:52Speaker 1: got off on the wrong foot with him disrespecting his
- 12:54Speaker 1: Ratchet shit because my first album was called fifty one
- 12:56Speaker 1: fifty Ratchet. I got home boys just named Ratchet Life.
- 12:59Speaker 1: That's dead and gone. My partners created a whole record
- 13:01Speaker 1: label based off of this, this culture. You know what
- 13:04Speaker 1: I'm saying. He got sentenced to life and end up
- 13:06Speaker 1: giving a sentence back and coming home to seeing you
- 13:08Speaker 1: saying that Ratchett shit is dead. And he just got
- 13:11Speaker 1: home this year, like and he thought he was coming
- 13:13Speaker 1: home and to get his ship back popping, you know
- 13:15Speaker 1: what I'm saying. Like, so you're really just you saying.
- 13:18Speaker 3: But that was where things got on the wrong foot.
- 13:20Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, So now when I when I see the
- 13:23Speaker 1: event go down and no, no Ratchett City Artists is involved,
- 13:27Speaker 1: and I don't see no you know, like no, no,
- 13:29Speaker 1: no hommage being paid to the city. It was a
- 13:33Speaker 1: bunch of people Louisiana, Like it was some people from Louisiana,
- 13:36Speaker 1: but it was nobody, No, no, it was it was
- 13:39Speaker 1: it was a artist from Louisiana, but it was nobody
- 13:41Speaker 1: from Streetport. My thing is, you're saying this is your city.
- 13:44Speaker 1: You're saying it's what we're gonna.
- 13:45Speaker 4: Call this city. This is kind of called this city.
- 13:47Speaker 4: So put some of your who is the artist in
- 13:51Speaker 4: your city?
- 13:51Speaker 1: That's popping. What's the neighborhoods in your city? Since you're
- 13:54Speaker 1: saying this your city and we ain't gonna call it
- 13:55Speaker 1: ratch your city, what's the problems in the community. You
- 13:58Speaker 1: know what I'm saying. I understand you doing your part
- 14:00Speaker 1: and all of that, but what the fuck is they
- 14:01Speaker 1: gonna help to youngsters that's out here shooting and killing
- 14:03Speaker 1: each other. You could fool a bunch of dummies with
- 14:06Speaker 1: oh yeah, I'm finnaar people gonna be able to work
- 14:08Speaker 1: for my studios.
- 14:08Speaker 3: So I'm about to help the community.
- 14:10Speaker 1: Bro, If you ain't building a big ass industrial company
- 14:12Speaker 1: and hiring a thousands and thousands of people, then you're
- 14:16Speaker 1: not about to put no significant dent into the problem
- 14:19Speaker 1: that's happening with a lack of jobs in the community.
- 14:22Speaker 1: So what he got as a marketing agent that I
- 14:25Speaker 1: had hired working with me at one time, and what
- 14:27Speaker 1: they know how to do is put a message out
- 14:29Speaker 1: to the community that and make them really understand the
- 14:32Speaker 1: message and take it and put it into the perception.
- 14:35Speaker 1: He got somebody that I used to have working for me,
- 14:37Speaker 1: and he was the head of marketing, and his whole
- 14:39Speaker 1: thing is marketing is perception and what you can make
- 14:42Speaker 1: people believe. People so slow they don't see plays happening
- 14:46Speaker 1: right inside of their face. I'm the type of person
- 14:48Speaker 1: to where I make immediate demands. If you're gonna sell
- 14:50Speaker 1: me a dream, I don't want the dream. Tell I'm
- 14:54Speaker 1: make immediate demands for for you know you understand that.
- 14:57Speaker 1: If I'm doing business with somebody.
- 14:59Speaker 3: My thing is is, did you attempt to like maybe
- 15:04Speaker 3: reach out and like before things got I reach.
- 15:06Speaker 1: Out a few times, we need to sit down and talk.
- 15:09Speaker 1: I never got a response.
- 15:10Speaker 3: Who did you reach out to that I.
- 15:11Speaker 1: Reach out to him? And I actually spoke to his
- 15:14Speaker 1: right hand man, YAlO Nahnee, a guy that we both
- 15:18Speaker 1: know and come and that that that I brought to
- 15:20Speaker 1: the city that ended up bringing him to the city.
- 15:22Speaker 3: Got it. So I guess that's my thing is, like
- 15:26Speaker 3: I think two things can be true at the same time.
- 15:28Speaker 3: It can't be true that he was a little disrespectful
- 15:32Speaker 3: with the getting rid of Raget City. And it also
- 15:34Speaker 3: can be true that he's bringing industry and jobs to
- 15:38Speaker 3: the city, right.
- 15:39Speaker 1: I mean a move, he got a he got a studio,
- 15:43Speaker 1: so that if you can act and you want to
- 15:45Speaker 1: be in the music, I mean, a movie industry is
- 15:48Speaker 1: definitely going to be a plus to you.
- 15:50Speaker 3: Well, I mean with acting like people I live. I
- 15:53Speaker 3: live in Burbank where there's studios everywhere, there's light people right, right.
- 15:57Speaker 1: So it's definated. Do you want to be in the industry,
- 15:59Speaker 1: then it's definitely gonna be a good thing for you.
- 16:01Speaker 3: Right yeah, even if you like can build shit, right.
- 16:04Speaker 1: Right, involvement in the movie industry is gonna be a
- 16:08Speaker 1: good thing.
- 16:08Speaker 3: And I think, I think, but I just think I
- 16:10Speaker 3: think that, like I said, both things can be true.
- 16:13Speaker 3: Like he could be he could have approached things differently.
- 16:15Speaker 3: But also he also is bringing what seems to be
- 16:18Speaker 3: some opportunity to it.
- 16:20Speaker 1: But I don't matter how much opportunity I bring into
- 16:22Speaker 1: your house, I gotta respect the people inside of your house.
- 16:24Speaker 1: If I walk into your house just because I'm the
- 16:26Speaker 1: person who's finna pay for the food today, that don't
- 16:28Speaker 1: mean I get to swing my dick around and talk.
- 16:29Speaker 3: Do you think he's been disrespectful to the people of
- 16:31Speaker 3: the city or do you just think he can just
- 16:33Speaker 3: relighted the hip hop culture.
- 16:35Speaker 1: The culture so and the culture is created by the people.
- 16:38Speaker 1: We are the people, you know what I'm saying. So
- 16:41Speaker 1: I speak for the people, not the Internet. But I
- 16:44Speaker 1: speak for the people who don't even know how to
- 16:46Speaker 1: work Instagram, you know what I'm saying, the actual community.
- 16:49Speaker 3: Like, after you guys got into your uh your dispute,
- 16:53Speaker 3: there has there been any conversation outside of the internet
- 16:55Speaker 3: back and forth.
- 16:56Speaker 1: No, it ain't been no conversation.
- 16:58Speaker 3: Yeah, I think, you know, I think I think think
- 17:00Speaker 3: it would it would be who fifty to you know,
- 17:02Speaker 3: if he's got a business in a city like Streetport
- 17:04Speaker 3: to talk to somebody like you and at the very
- 17:07Speaker 3: least clear up and need a disrespect You know.
- 17:10Speaker 1: I just want you to understand that this is an
- 17:12Speaker 1: actual culture. I will never go out here till the
- 17:14Speaker 1: Bay Wing calling this debay no more. I will never
- 17:17Speaker 1: go to New York and say Win calling this the
- 17:19Speaker 1: big Apple no more. You can do the biggest shit
- 17:22Speaker 1: in the world, but you can't fucking put respect last.
- 17:26Speaker 4: You gotta respect.
- 17:27Speaker 1: First, bro, I don't give a fuck if you're doing
- 17:29Speaker 1: billion dollar deal. Showed that you got some fucking respect, bro,
- 17:33Speaker 1: show that first. Don't walk in the room with my wallet.
- 17:36Speaker 1: Walk in the fucking room and say how you doing?
- 17:39Speaker 3: Shake your hand you feel.
- 17:41Speaker 1: I don't walk in and say all this shit on
- 17:42Speaker 1: the wall. U. If we need to take this shit down,
- 17:45Speaker 1: I might think that, but let me work my way
- 17:47Speaker 1: in and talk to the people who did that and
- 17:49Speaker 1: let them know my idea.
- 17:50Speaker 3: Right.
- 17:51Speaker 1: Hey, man, I know you had a lot of.
- 17:53Speaker 4: Time that you put into that wall with your face.
- 17:56Speaker 1: I think it'll be better if we do this like this.
- 17:58Speaker 1: But I'm not about to just walk in here and
- 17:59Speaker 1: rip this fucking bootleg Camps signed off the wall, right
- 18:02Speaker 1: because I'm the new dick swinging in town.
- 18:05Speaker 3: Would you would you be open to having a conversation
- 18:08Speaker 3: and kind of educating him on where he might have
- 18:10Speaker 3: missed it. Yeah, Yeah, that's important.
- 18:13Speaker 1: Definitely.
- 18:13Speaker 3: Yeah. Talk to me man, like I'm thinking all the
- 18:16Speaker 3: way back. Okay, So I'm a heavy hitter. Baby is
- 18:20Speaker 3: my boy. That's my brother. I love baby. I know
- 18:25Speaker 3: you guys had a falling out, uh, and you know
- 18:28Speaker 3: he's doing this thing in Dallas.
- 18:30Speaker 1: What's crazy is like I've always had a big amount
- 18:34Speaker 1: of love, Like, so that's that's that's one thing.
- 18:37Speaker 3: Well, I mean because when you so for people who
- 18:39Speaker 3: don't know, like, Babe is a legendary DJ, He's from Shreveport.
- 18:44Speaker 3: He's been fucking killing it in Dallas on the rail forever.
- 18:47Speaker 1: He's heavier since fucking since before I was eating in
- 18:52Speaker 1: the game.
- 18:52Speaker 3: He's been trying to get me to go down to
- 18:54Speaker 3: the South to when it's crawfish season for fucking ever.
- 18:56Speaker 3: And so so you started working with Beabe as a kid, right.
- 19:02Speaker 1: I started working with three feet as a kid, okay,
- 19:05Speaker 1: And so that's his right hand man.
- 19:06Speaker 3: Okay, So what ended up happening Because I saw a
- 19:09Speaker 3: little bit of what you said, I'm glad. I think
- 19:11Speaker 3: it just came out today. Actually where you were essentially
- 19:14Speaker 3: you were a kid and you were just kind of
- 19:16Speaker 3: listening to what your big homies were saying at the time,
- 19:19Speaker 3: right right, carst rated your mom didn't know much about
- 19:21Speaker 3: the business, right right, right, So where did things kind
- 19:24Speaker 3: of go wrong? And would you ever be open to
- 19:26Speaker 3: sitting down with beabay and kind of leaving that shit
- 19:29Speaker 3: in the past.
- 19:29Speaker 1: What shit went wrong at was? I I signed my
- 19:35Speaker 1: idea at around like fifteen, sixteen years old, right, my
- 19:40Speaker 1: daddy was locked up. My mama didn't know nothing about this.
- 19:43Speaker 1: So she trusted my manager with me, with my safety,
- 19:47Speaker 1: with me getting home from school, everything, you know what
- 19:50Speaker 1: I'm saying, Like, she trusted these cats to leave me
- 19:54Speaker 1: in the right directly, well, my manager, right so bro
- 19:58Speaker 1: was my manager, right hand man. I went to the
- 20:00Speaker 1: We used to go to the club and they used
- 20:02Speaker 1: to turn up. So one night we're in the club
- 20:04Speaker 1: and everybody just going crazy, Hey baby baby, he DJing,
- 20:07Speaker 1: tan it bitch up and we in the crowd going stupid, Hey,
- 20:11Speaker 1: hey baby baby hey. I go to the studio that
- 20:15Speaker 1: same night. I said, Man, I'm finna make a song
- 20:17Speaker 1: about this shit. I called him. I said, I'm finna, boy,
- 20:19Speaker 1: I'm finna make a hit off this ship. He said,
- 20:22Speaker 1: make that motherfucker. I already got money and this shit
- 20:24Speaker 1: gonna help you musically, so let's do it. I made
- 20:27Speaker 1: that motherfucker and it pop blew up. This shit became
- 20:30Speaker 1: number one in the fucking universe, like praise, so boom,
- 20:35Speaker 1: everything all gravy. Fast forward a label come offer me
- 20:42Speaker 1: a deal. College Park. I choose listen. This was mister
- 20:48Speaker 1: Parker Collie Park, So I choose to sit down there
- 20:51Speaker 1: and listen to the meeting. After the meeting, I ain't
- 20:53Speaker 1: want to do the deal. I was ready to walk out.
- 20:55Speaker 1: So I walked out the room and they seen it
- 20:57Speaker 1: on my face that I wasn't gonna sign the deal.
- 20:59Speaker 4: That's when baby come.
- 21:00Speaker 1: And tell me, trust us to make the right decision
- 21:03Speaker 1: for you. Jesse listened to us, so I said fuck
- 21:05Speaker 1: it and I signed.
- 21:06Speaker 4: A deal, which was the worst situation we could have did.
- 21:10Speaker 1: Like my advance to start off with my first deal,
- 21:13Speaker 1: the advance was thirty k. This was for a Bay Bay.
- 21:16Speaker 3: Now now this was just signing the college Park.
- 21:18Speaker 1: No.
- 21:19Speaker 4: College Park. Took me to Jay Records.
- 21:21Speaker 1: They gave me the this is where I got my
- 21:23Speaker 1: first advance from Okay, Colle Park just connected the situation,
- 21:26Speaker 1: got it and got a percentage.
- 21:28Speaker 3: So your first you did? You signed a Jay. At
- 21:30Speaker 3: the time, Jay Records had like Alicia Keys and right
- 21:32Speaker 3: right right right right, all that shit right right right.
- 21:35Speaker 1: So I end up doing the deal, I get out.
- 21:39Speaker 1: I get into it with the record label. But when
- 21:40Speaker 1: I fall out with the label. I hear brow up
- 21:42Speaker 1: and I tell them, hey, this ship ain't going right.
- 21:43Speaker 1: I need you to I need you to reach out
- 21:45Speaker 1: and I need to try to fix this ship. To
- 21:46Speaker 1: see what I need to do to get this ship
- 21:48Speaker 1: fixed and resolved. We having problems. We're going back and
- 21:51Speaker 1: forth and a grant on shit. He telled me, Hey, man,
- 21:54Speaker 1: I don't want nothing to do with that. I still
- 21:56Speaker 1: want to be involved and be able to go back
- 21:57Speaker 1: and do business with him. Bro, I'm in this situation
- 22:01Speaker 1: because you told me, trust me to make the best
- 22:05Speaker 1: decision for you. Now that shit fucked up, you telling
- 22:07Speaker 1: me you ain't gonna help. So that was strike one boom.
- 22:10Speaker 1: I you fast forward Tom and I catch my case.
- 22:15Speaker 1: When I catch my case and I bun out and
- 22:17Speaker 1: I hit him up and I tell him, I need
- 22:19Speaker 1: you to make this move, make this call for me,
- 22:21Speaker 1: so I could put this play together and I could
- 22:23Speaker 1: take care of all this shit.
- 22:24Speaker 3: I what year was this?
- 22:26Speaker 1: This was matter? Don't make me live about the year
- 22:28Speaker 1: Google where Yeah, I got arrested. It was right when
- 22:30Speaker 1: I burned it out, like four years ago.
- 22:33Speaker 3: Yeah so this was recently yeah yeah, yeah.
- 22:36Speaker 1: So when I burned out, I called him and I
- 22:37Speaker 1: tell him a call Seuch and such and tell them
- 22:40Speaker 1: I'm trying to do this because at this point, I
- 22:42Speaker 1: got a bunch of fucking fees and I need to
- 22:46Speaker 1: keep running this bag up. Bro, tell me I ain't
- 22:49Speaker 1: fucking with the music. I ain't fucking with none of
- 22:51Speaker 1: this shit. I ain't fucking with none of it. I say, brouh,
- 22:54Speaker 1: I'm fighting for my life right now. You're telling me
- 22:56Speaker 1: some shit about what you ain't fucking with, and I'm
- 22:58Speaker 1: telling you I need you to make a call so
- 23:00Speaker 1: I could put my own I put my own business together,
- 23:03Speaker 1: or his boy, his baby, Okay, after all the shit
- 23:06Speaker 1: we'd have been through. I'm like, Bro, you're telling me this,
- 23:09Speaker 1: and I'm fighting for my life right now. So I'm
- 23:11Speaker 1: good on you, Homy, I'm good. I'm straight. And we
- 23:14Speaker 1: ain't talk since then.
- 23:15Speaker 3: Damn. So that was like four years ago. Yeah that's crazy.
- 23:19Speaker 1: Man, am I I mean how you feel about that?
- 23:22Speaker 3: I mean I feel you, I think, especially.
- 23:24Speaker 1: If we ain't had no situations as to where you feel,
- 23:27Speaker 1: no type of way about how many Everything is all good.
- 23:29Speaker 3: So what I'm thinking is okay, because you had what
- 23:32Speaker 3: year did you stop kind of officially working with them
- 23:35Speaker 3: or were you always kind of still we was.
- 23:36Speaker 4: Always still doing here and that Okay, you know what
- 23:39Speaker 4: I'm saying.
- 23:39Speaker 1: Even at that point when I hit him about that,
- 23:41Speaker 1: we had just had a meeting probably a month ago,
- 23:44Speaker 1: where I was sitting him in his right hand man
- 23:46Speaker 1: down to try to help them get on the same
- 23:49Speaker 1: page and then maybe some out of the good to
- 23:51Speaker 1: come for it from, you know, for all of us.
- 23:53Speaker 1: We all see some good from from what's from the meeting. Damn,
- 23:57Speaker 1: you know, but you know that's what it is.
- 24:00Speaker 3: So well, hopefully I gotta.
- 24:01Speaker 1: Keep it g Like if I'm down and I'm fucked
- 24:03Speaker 1: up and I'm telling you, hey, people, I need you
- 24:06Speaker 1: to do that and it ain't nothing that's gonna.
- 24:07Speaker 4: Hurt you or take from you, and you refuse.
- 24:09Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm in a desert and I'm telling you, hey,
- 24:11Speaker 1: bring me a glass of water, and you refuse to
- 24:14Speaker 1: bring me that glass of water. I ain't never gonna
- 24:16Speaker 1: forget how fucking how it was in the desert because
- 24:18Speaker 1: now I'm in an ac right now. I don't need
- 24:22Speaker 1: a nigga for ship. So it's like, so are you
- 24:25Speaker 1: are you?
- 24:26Speaker 3: Are you independent? Or what you what is your current
- 24:28Speaker 3: label situation.
- 24:28Speaker 4: I'm independent, but I fucked with the Light's global like.
- 24:31Speaker 3: Good Folk shot to Duney and them yea yea yeah.
- 24:33Speaker 1: Yeah yeah. So we got a situation, we're working.
- 24:36Speaker 3: Yeah, I mean I feel like uh Miguel doing it
- 24:39Speaker 3: o G. Yeah for sure. I feel like you know,
- 24:43Speaker 3: you've had a I mean ever since obviously you you
- 24:46Speaker 3: you were found not guilty of your situation. You got out.
- 24:48Speaker 3: I just feel like you've been grinding, bro fucking right working.
- 24:51Speaker 1: They took so much from me. I had to hit
- 24:53Speaker 1: the ground and get that ship back. Yeah, I had
- 24:55Speaker 1: to get back what I lost.
- 24:56Speaker 3: I think too. It's like it's funny too because, uh
- 24:59Speaker 3: there was a was it like a Tony Touch freestyle
- 25:02Speaker 3: or is there some freestyle.
- 25:03Speaker 2: You got that back in the day I did, But Bro,
- 25:06Speaker 2: you was fucked like you were like a rapping ass
- 25:09Speaker 2: full for real, like you could fucking like like, are.
- 25:13Speaker 3: You like just gifted as a freestyle or because I mean,
- 25:15Speaker 3: this ship comes so natural to you, like like do
- 25:18Speaker 3: you write like when like think about it started out freestyle.
- 25:21Speaker 3: So when you're in the when you're in the booths,
- 25:23Speaker 3: a lot of kids are punching in these days. Are
- 25:24Speaker 3: you punching in or you writing your ship out? Like?
- 25:26Speaker 3: How are you recording now?
- 25:27Speaker 1: Right? I ain't rolling?
- 25:29Speaker 3: So you're just saying just off the top running.
- 25:31Speaker 1: Backs studio with me?
- 25:33Speaker 3: Yeah?
- 25:33Speaker 1: Have they ever saw me?
- 25:34Speaker 3: Right? Yeah?
- 25:36Speaker 4: I don't even use no, ain't no phone in my
- 25:38Speaker 4: hand or none of that ship.
- 25:39Speaker 3: That's crazy.
- 25:39Speaker 1: I hear the beat out walk in the boot. That's wow, bro,
- 25:42Speaker 1: that you hit his new ship.
- 25:45Speaker 3: Talk to me about I saw that you had a
- 25:48Speaker 3: lawsuit that you were going to be suing the city
- 25:50Speaker 3: of Shreveport. Is that still something that's still happening or I.
- 25:54Speaker 1: Am pressed forward with the lawsuit because I was gonna
- 25:56Speaker 1: have to spend like some stupid money on lawyers, and
- 26:00Speaker 1: I wasn't guaranteed to even get the paperwork to show
- 26:04Speaker 1: me what was saying and what happened in the courtroom,
- 26:06Speaker 1: like the records. It's hard to get the paperwork that
- 26:10Speaker 1: I need to go forward with my lawsuit.
- 26:11Speaker 4: They got the right to deny this shit.
- 26:13Speaker 1: They don't have to give it to me, like the
- 26:15Speaker 1: records from the courtroom that I need. They got our
- 26:18Speaker 1: long history of denying. And then the lawyer telling me
- 26:21Speaker 1: when I spend the money. It's a real big gamble,
- 26:24Speaker 1: you know what I'm saying. So I feel like God
- 26:27Speaker 1: got me out of the situation. And if I could
- 26:30Speaker 1: stop other people from getting into the situation by shedding
- 26:32Speaker 1: some light on how fucked up the justice system, if
- 26:36Speaker 1: I could let these youngsters know, if you go catch
- 26:38Speaker 1: a charge and you ain't got two hundred and fifty
- 26:40Speaker 1: thousand and a half a million dollars and a property to
- 26:43Speaker 1: put up, your ass gonna be sitting in.
- 26:45Speaker 3: Jail with some bullshit public defender.
- 26:48Speaker 1: With a bullshit public defender. Even with a real lawyer,
- 26:50Speaker 1: you still get your ass slung. I got a partner
- 26:52Speaker 1: with real lawyer, just got two thirty year sentences, got
- 26:54Speaker 1: a partner with a real lawyer, just got two like
- 26:57Speaker 1: no guarantee sitting in there right now.
- 27:00Speaker 3: Did they try to push you, like to take a
- 27:02Speaker 3: like a plea?
- 27:03Speaker 1: After my ship was over, my lawyer told me, you know,
- 27:06Speaker 1: they came to me and told me that they'll let
- 27:09Speaker 1: you take forty years. He said, I know, if I
- 27:12Speaker 1: would have bought it to you, you would have faed me.
- 27:14Speaker 3: Yeah, and then you would have been fucked because you
- 27:16Speaker 3: ended up getting free and beating the charge.
- 27:19Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 27:20Speaker 3: But they want you to take well, they want you
- 27:22Speaker 3: to take the plea.
- 27:23Speaker 1: I wouldn't taken five you know.
- 27:25Speaker 3: Yeah, self defense. Yeah, that's what's crazy. Is like in
- 27:28Speaker 3: the South. You know, it's very uh possible to defend
- 27:33Speaker 3: yourself in California. If someone breaks into your fucking house
- 27:37Speaker 3: and you shoot them, you're going to jail. They don't
- 27:40Speaker 3: give a fuck out here.
- 27:41Speaker 1: Bro like, and they going to hell.
- 27:44Speaker 3: They're going to go to hell, and you're going to jail.
- 27:46Speaker 1: Pick one jail a hell no.
- 27:48Speaker 3: But but it is interesting.
- 27:49Speaker 1: Man.
- 27:49Speaker 3: I'm glad. I'm glad you beat your charge. And I think, uh,
- 27:52Speaker 3: you know, I think it's important that you, uh you
- 27:56Speaker 3: shed light on like kind of what happened, because, like
- 27:58Speaker 3: you said, a lot of a lot of people man
- 28:00Speaker 3: with no resources, they get put in that room and
- 28:02Speaker 3: the lawyer says, look, we could either fight this and
- 28:05Speaker 3: there's a chance you go to prison for the rest
- 28:07Speaker 3: of your life, or you could take this plea deo
- 28:10Speaker 3: even though you know you're innocent, and it's eight years
- 28:13Speaker 3: or it's ten years, and then you're like, well, fuck, if.
- 28:17Speaker 1: You ain't got no bag, put up as you to
- 28:19Speaker 1: chill out, you know, lay back, don't jump out here
- 28:22Speaker 1: here first, like.
- 28:23Speaker 3: That random question. There's a show called True Detective. Did
- 28:26Speaker 3: you ever watch it? Okay, so it was based in Louisiana,
- 28:31Speaker 3: some of it in treport. It's with Matthew McConaughey and
- 28:35Speaker 3: Woody Harrelson. It's pretty it's a pretty gnarly show. But
- 28:39Speaker 3: I was just I wanted to get your take on,
- 28:40Speaker 3: like how accurate of a depiction it was of because
- 28:43Speaker 3: there's like parishes and shit, which is like what.
- 28:46Speaker 1: We got parishes?
- 28:46Speaker 3: Would you say a parish is like a city or
- 28:49Speaker 3: like a zip code or like it's like a county
- 28:53Speaker 3: a county. So if there's a parish, like, is there
- 28:55Speaker 3: like a parish police department.
- 28:58Speaker 1: Yeah, it's a kettle parish police plum.
- 29:00Speaker 3: So why why like, what is a fucking parish compared Like,
- 29:02Speaker 3: why there is there only parishes in Louisiana.
- 29:05Speaker 1: I have no idea what with how that ship is
- 29:07Speaker 1: set up.
- 29:08Speaker 3: I'm like, it's the only fucking place with parishes.
- 29:10Speaker 1: Because in Houston you got counties.
- 29:11Speaker 3: Right, we got counties everywhere else?
- 29:13Speaker 1: Yeah, I ain't never, I don't understand it.
- 29:15Speaker 3: Yeah, No, it's interesting. Who are some of the young
- 29:18Speaker 3: up and coming artists out of Streetport that you would have, like,
- 29:22Speaker 3: you know, you obviously mentioned fifty didn't kind of is
- 29:25Speaker 3: there anybody who's on the come up that you want
- 29:27Speaker 3: to shut somebody on? Hell?
- 29:28Speaker 1: Yeah, you got you got a lot of these boys.
- 29:31Speaker 1: You got do Wop green eyes. It's so de little man,
- 29:41Speaker 1: they're gonna be mad at me. You gotta be with
- 29:46Speaker 1: There's a lot of young cats that's popping right now,
- 29:49Speaker 1: Like Streetport got some heat. We got legends as well
- 29:53Speaker 1: that's been popping for a long time, like people that
- 29:56Speaker 1: was popping a long time ago that's still rock big
- 29:59Speaker 1: heavy crowds like big Popper. You know what I'm saying, KP.
- 30:03Speaker 1: Streetport got a music history, and we actually got artists
- 30:07Speaker 1: that's been rocking crowds of seven eight thousand people locally.
- 30:12Speaker 3: That's great. That's a lot of fucking. That's a lot
- 30:13Speaker 3: of fucking.
- 30:14Speaker 1: Half of like, we got people that have been filling
- 30:16Speaker 1: up whole sections of football stadiums and rocking that shit.
- 30:20Speaker 1: And you see, you might see ten fifteen thousand people
- 30:23Speaker 1: out here saying this shit word for words like Streetport
- 30:26Speaker 1: got a history of music and that's why I feel
- 30:29Speaker 1: like it's important that people pay homage and respect to
- 30:32Speaker 1: that shit when you come there, you understand what I'm saying?
- 30:35Speaker 1: What is uh?
- 30:36Speaker 3: Give me kind of like geographically Streetport the Baton Rouge
- 30:39Speaker 3: in New Orleans? Like where like how far is where
- 30:41Speaker 3: you're from? From those two places?
- 30:43Speaker 1: New Orleans? Probably you probably end up taking like four
- 30:47Speaker 1: and a half five hours to get there.
- 30:48Speaker 3: That's a serious mission.
- 30:50Speaker 1: Ben Rudge, like four.
- 30:52Speaker 3: Hours and then you guys are pretty close to Dallas.
- 30:54Speaker 1: Right, Yeah, we like two and a half hours from Dallas, right,
- 30:57Speaker 1: So would you say that about a good three hours max?
- 31:01Speaker 3: Would you say that? Like Shreveport and Dallas have more
- 31:05Speaker 3: in common musically.
- 31:06Speaker 1: Streetport and Dallas don't have more in coming musically, they
- 31:09Speaker 1: got more, They got a lot in common culture wise
- 31:12Speaker 1: because Streetport is so close to Texas, so is North Louisiana,
- 31:17Speaker 1: So it ain't they don't have the accent that Badon
- 31:20Speaker 1: Ruoge got. We ain't got the accent that New Orleans got.
- 31:23Speaker 1: Like it, right, we got our own accent. But it's different.
- 31:25Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying. You'll be able to tell
- 31:27Speaker 1: the difference, Like you guys.
- 31:28Speaker 3: Aren't saying WOADI in h Streetport.
- 31:31Speaker 1: Nah, we don't say Woday. I don't even think New
- 31:32Speaker 1: Orleans say that.
- 31:33Speaker 3: Noing was that was the thing when I was like
- 31:35Speaker 3: Woaday whenever you were listening to the master p True albums. Shit.
- 31:39Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, I don't even think I think they upgraded.
- 31:42Speaker 1: They hold Lingo and Dialect.
- 31:44Speaker 3: You and Boozye put out a dope record recently. He
- 31:46Speaker 3: obviously if you go all the way back to the
- 31:49Speaker 3: Ababay remix, he was on that. He was one of
- 31:51Speaker 3: the thirty eight rappers that was on the remix. What
- 31:54Speaker 3: was on that rebax?
- 31:54Speaker 1: It was game Boozy forty Kiss jadakiss Uh. It was
- 32:03Speaker 1: a lot of people, bro it was Coloratcher remix, the
- 32:05Speaker 1: game for the jade ki is Boosy Birdman.
- 32:09Speaker 3: Birdman was on it.
- 32:10Speaker 1: Yeah, it was a lot of people.
- 32:12Speaker 3: It was like how long was I just remember it
- 32:14Speaker 3: being too long to play on the radio?
- 32:15Speaker 1: Man? That shit was crazy. I think I broke remix
- 32:18Speaker 1: eight minutes or something. The hardest remix in rap history.
- 32:20Speaker 1: Yeah yeah, what what was I mean?
- 32:22Speaker 3: Obviously at that time the hottest joint out, Like, was
- 32:25Speaker 3: that something that like you were were you were some
- 32:30Speaker 3: of those like features favors, some of them the label
- 32:32Speaker 3: had to pay.
- 32:33Speaker 1: For Nah, the record got so big bro that everybody
- 32:36Speaker 1: just said they just wanted to get on it. Everybody
- 32:38Speaker 1: just started flooding. They was like gonna beef with me.
- 32:41Speaker 1: I had people telling me, man, if you take me
- 32:43Speaker 1: off of this regular, we ain't friends no more. Wow.
- 32:46Speaker 3: Was there anybody who didn't make it to try to
- 32:48Speaker 3: get on it?
- 32:48Speaker 1: Like a lot of versus that I think. I think
- 32:50Speaker 1: I had a verse from Ludacris. Pimpsey was on it.
- 32:55Speaker 1: The label made the worst decision ever when they cut
- 32:57Speaker 1: Pimps off of it, like that's and he to kill
- 33:00Speaker 1: everybody from the regular Abel to.
- 33:03Speaker 3: Pimpc. Pimpsy was on a Hey Baby remix.
- 33:06Speaker 1: His DJ caught me like two weeks ago telling me
- 33:09Speaker 1: he got the verse, So I'm gonna get that verse.
- 33:11Speaker 3: Oh, you gotta get that verse even if you like
- 33:14Speaker 3: you know what's crazy is you could probably like reproduce
- 33:16Speaker 3: the song and reperform it and do like a fucking
- 33:19Speaker 3: twenty twenty four, because you know that's what Taylor Swift did.
- 33:23Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, she re recorded all the music.
- 33:27Speaker 3: That'd be crazy if you got the Pimps verse. Did
- 33:30Speaker 3: you have a good relationship with PIMPC when he was
- 33:32Speaker 3: a Liveye.
- 33:32Speaker 1: I just tried to PIMC like every day, like for
- 33:34Speaker 1: probably like at least an hour on the phone. We
- 33:38Speaker 1: talked daily. Bro.
- 33:39Speaker 3: He was so fucking ahead of his time. And I
- 33:42Speaker 3: just think if he still was with us, he would
- 33:44Speaker 3: have one of the most fire podcasts of all time.
- 33:47Speaker 3: Like I think how Drake Champs is cracking. Can you
- 33:49Speaker 3: imagine if Pimpsy had a fucking podcast in twenty twenty four.
- 33:52Speaker 1: Man, they try to cancel his ass already, you couldn't
- 33:55Speaker 1: cancel him. They had to cancel him.
- 33:57Speaker 3: I'd be like Pimps and Boozie are the same, Like
- 33:59Speaker 3: you could never cancel boo It don't matter what Boozy
- 34:01Speaker 3: does or says.
- 34:02Speaker 1: He's kind of come from that umbrella, you know for sure,
- 34:06Speaker 1: kind of was affiliated with So it's a lot of
- 34:09Speaker 1: affiliation there, but that that definitely was a good friend
- 34:12Speaker 1: of mine. Like Pimp ain't give a fuck what he said,
- 34:14Speaker 1: when he said it, how he said it. If Pimp
- 34:17Speaker 1: was alive right now, a lot of this ship that's
- 34:19Speaker 1: happening wouldn't be happening. He'll be speaking up on it
- 34:21Speaker 1: for sure.
- 34:22Speaker 3: Uh. I feel like just because of the tempo of
- 34:24Speaker 3: your records, Like the West Coast has always had a
- 34:28Speaker 3: place for your ship in the club.
- 34:29Speaker 1: The West Coast was like when I first popped, this
- 34:34Speaker 1: is where I lived at. Where were living in l
- 34:37Speaker 1: An Like I was here, So you were lived here,
- 34:40Speaker 1: bro Like I had an apartment here and everything Like
- 34:43Speaker 1: I was here here?
- 34:43Speaker 3: Was it like the getting out to the Bay a
- 34:45Speaker 3: lot too?
- 34:47Speaker 1: Yeah, I was in a bay lot too. I shot
- 34:48Speaker 1: a video in the in the Bay with Bobby Valentino.
- 34:51Speaker 1: Mm hmm, yep, so I was. I was really playing
- 34:53Speaker 1: the Cali scene real heavy. A lot of people from
- 34:55Speaker 1: my label lived out here, so I had heavy resources
- 34:58Speaker 1: out here. You know. I still fuck with it out
- 35:00Speaker 1: here to for real still to this day.
- 35:02Speaker 3: Yeah, I feel like just just with the temple of
- 35:05Speaker 3: your shit.
- 35:05Speaker 1: I used to pull up on the game all them
- 35:07Speaker 1: every day, like I'm tapped in out here.
- 35:10Speaker 3: Yeah, talk to me about uh this new record with Boozy.
- 35:14Speaker 3: It's crazy at Murder Murder Murder. I mean, you guys
- 35:18Speaker 3: have dealt with.
- 35:19Speaker 1: K four seven on the side of my bed. You
- 35:20Speaker 1: should have cross housed. You drew in your head rolling
- 35:22Speaker 1: with me. Didn't need us have a body, but that
- 35:24Speaker 1: on my mama paint the city red. They tried to
- 35:26Speaker 1: take me away from my family and nigga. Just imagine
- 35:28Speaker 1: the feeling the district could turn and yell and then
- 35:30Speaker 1: my face. We're gonna do life if we'll give you
- 35:32Speaker 1: this sentence. I was protecting myself. I ain't never walked
- 35:34Speaker 1: out of my house looking for no issues. Nigga put
- 35:36Speaker 1: my life in danger. The detectors ain't even go question
- 35:39Speaker 1: the witness. I stayed on the scene telling what happened,
- 35:41Speaker 1: looked dead in his eyes. I really ain't capping now.
- 35:43Speaker 1: I'm in this hot ass call. Had a panic attack
- 35:45Speaker 1: in the back of the bitch crazy.
- 35:48Speaker 4: My life on the line. It's a legal burner.
- 35:50Speaker 1: How to fuck They still hit me with a murder
- 35:51Speaker 1: like I'm supposed to let a nigga step on me
- 35:53Speaker 1: then hop on the ground trying to rap on me.
- 35:55Speaker 1: This's a dirty game. Ain't no referee, Crazy go go
- 35:59Speaker 1: YouTube didn't murder me and Buoso.
- 36:01Speaker 3: Yeah videos out right now. I think it's too up too,
- 36:04Speaker 3: because like we gotta listen. Side note, just a quick
- 36:08Speaker 3: side note, all of the icons from Louisiana have all
- 36:11Speaker 3: had extremely high profile legal situations. Whether it's you, Wayne
- 36:15Speaker 3: back in the day, fucking free young boy who's just
- 36:19Speaker 3: twenty seven months boozy. I mean, I feel like they
- 36:23Speaker 3: just stay trying to lock Boozy up.
- 36:24Speaker 1: Man, it's hard on us, bro, Like, I don't know
- 36:26Speaker 1: what the fuck it is. I don't know what it is, bro, Like,
- 36:29Speaker 1: all the Louisiana artists have to go through this shit,
- 36:31Speaker 1: and it ain't just Louisiana. It's really a lot of
- 36:34Speaker 1: artists all over the world right now.
- 36:36Speaker 4: They just it's the lifestyle. We come from.
- 36:38Speaker 1: A lot of us really, you know, come from certain
- 36:40Speaker 1: type of environments, so we prone to the shit that
- 36:43Speaker 1: happened in those environments. Like you know, that's why a
- 36:46Speaker 1: lot of people, you know, they don't go back to
- 36:48Speaker 1: their community. I go back, you know, like, yeah, it's
- 36:50Speaker 1: just me.
- 36:51Speaker 3: Do you think it's important that you you because we
- 36:54Speaker 3: see so many artists losing their life in their hometown,
- 36:56Speaker 3: is it? Do you think it was imperative for you
- 36:59Speaker 3: to kind of try to get out in terms of
- 37:01Speaker 3: just like where you live.
- 37:02Speaker 1: I ain't get out for that reason. I got out
- 37:04Speaker 1: to do more business and handle more and have more
- 37:08Speaker 1: opportunities in bigger cities, Like I never had to leave
- 37:11Speaker 1: for that reason. I've been here my whole life, and
- 37:14Speaker 1: it's only one hundred some thousand people. It ain't. This
- 37:17Speaker 1: ain't a random place.
- 37:18Speaker 3: One hundred thousand people is not a lot of people.
- 37:20Speaker 1: Over It's like one eighty. Now, yeah, but this ain't
- 37:23Speaker 1: a place where. This ain't the type of you know
- 37:26Speaker 1: what I'm saying, Like you have random shit happened, But
- 37:29Speaker 1: everybody know everybody. Right, if I'm somewhere, I'm where I
- 37:32Speaker 1: supposed to be. We in our neighborhood, We were at
- 37:35Speaker 1: our spots. You know what I'm saying, I ain't and
- 37:38Speaker 1: I go and I deal with the whole city, like
- 37:41Speaker 1: I go in every neighborhood, and I know people. I
- 37:43Speaker 1: could walk in any house, you know what I'm saying,
- 37:46Speaker 1: Like I could walk through any neighborhood and find a
- 37:48Speaker 1: door I can knock on where they're gonna let me in.
- 37:50Speaker 1: It's gonna be my cousin or something. You know what
- 37:52Speaker 1: I'm saying. Like I'm rooted in the community. So I
- 37:54Speaker 1: ain't never felt like I need to get out of
- 37:57Speaker 1: here for my safety, Like right, I ain't never made
- 38:02Speaker 1: no bunch of enemies like that, you understand what I'm saying.
- 38:05Speaker 1: So it's different from me, like I ain't never been.
- 38:08Speaker 1: I ain't never really just made no bunch of enemies.
- 38:10Speaker 1: I've kind of just been cool with everybody, you know
- 38:13Speaker 1: what I'm saying, even the cats that don't fuck with
- 38:16Speaker 1: like that, I keep it quadroing. I don't even don't
- 38:18Speaker 1: make too much out of shit. You know what I'm saying.
- 38:20Speaker 1: Everybody know me is that's little Cane. Ain't nobody like
- 38:25Speaker 1: that nigga did this to such and such a no
- 38:27Speaker 1: shit like that. That's little Cane, right, That's it since
- 38:30Speaker 1: I was I've been there since I was a little boy.
- 38:31Speaker 1: You know what I'm saying.
- 38:33Speaker 3: Did you ever like find out if halle Berry ever
- 38:36Speaker 3: heard your record?
- 38:37Speaker 1: Yeah? Hell yeah, she danced to the record.
- 38:39Speaker 3: That's amazing.
- 38:39Speaker 1: Ellen, did they did the dance?
- 38:42Speaker 3: Ellen? What man?
- 38:43Speaker 1: You could hook me up with him?
- 38:44Speaker 3: I don't know halle Berry from when I.
- 38:47Speaker 1: Gather color somebody color.
- 38:49Speaker 3: I don't know. If you want that smoke, I want
- 38:51Speaker 3: the smoke. She just got divorced again. I'm like, who divorces?
- 38:55Speaker 3: And it was the dude that divorced her. I'm like, yo,
- 38:57Speaker 3: who's divorced? She must be, That's what I'm saying. She
- 39:01Speaker 3: must be kind of crazy.
- 39:03Speaker 1: I don't give a fuck, Eric, it could be crazy
- 39:06Speaker 1: Aale Barry No, but it's until you hit it.
- 39:09Speaker 3: We wanted the right to be crazy.
- 39:11Speaker 1: Let her be crazy.
- 39:12Speaker 3: About halle Berry or wears off and you're like, oh,
- 39:15Speaker 3: she might be crazy.
- 39:16Speaker 1: Your girl crazy anyway?
- 39:18Speaker 3: Your girl crazy, my girl. You ain't lying about that
- 39:20Speaker 3: girl's crazy. That's a fair point.
- 39:22Speaker 1: Just pick one.
- 39:23Speaker 3: That's a fair point. What you got on the way man?
- 39:26Speaker 3: Obviously the new videos.
- 39:27Speaker 1: Out Hurricane season two hours to drop that mix tape.
- 39:30Speaker 1: I got a whole nother project we're working on. Wantin
- 39:34Speaker 1: Luther Kines Junior. Okay, that's a mix tape off Martin
- 39:38Speaker 1: Luther Kine Junior, Wantin Luther Kine Jr.
- 39:40Speaker 3: I like it. Can we just not put MLK on
- 39:43Speaker 3: the cover?
- 39:44Speaker 1: Nah, I ain't gonna, you know, I just you.
- 39:46Speaker 3: Know how there you know, there's those club flyers that
- 39:48Speaker 3: go viral every MLK day. There's the club flyer where
- 39:50Speaker 3: Martin Luther King's with some bel air on the front
- 39:52Speaker 3: of a flyer.
- 39:53Speaker 1: Now, I ain't doing it like that. Ain't doing it
- 39:55Speaker 1: like that. It might not aven't be nobody on the cover.
- 39:58Speaker 3: Would you and Boozye do a joint project. He's he's noted.
- 40:01Speaker 1: We got a project. Oh yeah, we got a project
- 40:03Speaker 1: bad as hurricane too. We just got to finish it.
- 40:05Speaker 3: That shit, oh fire, it's.
- 40:06Speaker 1: Probably like probably got like like twelve songs done.
- 40:10Speaker 3: Yeah, that's what's up man, Shot to Boozie, Shot to
- 40:13Speaker 3: you man, So when is uh?
- 40:15Speaker 1: I got a non profit to the Lawyer Foundation leading
- 40:19Speaker 1: now you their life. So I'm working on that to
- 40:21Speaker 1: be able to help kids after school. And I'm gonna
- 40:24Speaker 1: have like three different people from three different career paths
- 40:28Speaker 1: to try to guide kids and.
- 40:29Speaker 3: All career paths. And that's fucking awesome.
- 40:31Speaker 1: And some direction and motivation, has some counselors there for
- 40:35Speaker 1: him as well. That's gonna be in Streeport Streetport and Atlanta.
- 40:38Speaker 3: That's big man, that's big. Well, look go follow this guy.
- 40:40Speaker 3: Appreciate you pulling up man, fuck with me. Hopefully we
- 40:43Speaker 3: can get you in fifty cent to chat and you know,
- 40:47Speaker 3: do some dope shit. And I hope one day you
- 40:49Speaker 3: and baby chat because I love Baby, and you know,
- 40:52Speaker 3: I feel like you know you guys will you guys
- 40:54Speaker 3: will put that behind you one day. I think I
- 40:56Speaker 3: think it's gonna have to be him to reach out
- 40:58Speaker 3: to you, though. But if Baby reached out, would you answer.
- 41:00Speaker 1: Yeah, I got an unblack as number. I was mad
- 41:03Speaker 1: than the motherfucker.
- 41:04Speaker 2: W Bro ain't block his number, Man Bro did. When
- 41:07Speaker 2: Bro did that, I got a call. See now I
- 41:09Speaker 2: gotta call him and be like yo. I talked to
- 41:10Speaker 2: Hurricane Chris. From what he described it sounded a little
- 41:14Speaker 2: fucked up. You should call him man and squash it.
- 41:16Speaker 2: Because Baby is a good man. I know him to
- 41:18Speaker 2: be a good man.
- 41:18Speaker 3: I love Baby, so I would just love to see y'all.
- 41:20Speaker 1: You know, I don't like to keep grudges going and
- 41:23Speaker 1: shit like that.
- 41:24Speaker 3: That you always on and then you guys are so
- 41:26Speaker 3: tied together.
- 41:27Speaker 4: I always like for understanding and be had.
- 41:29Speaker 3: For sure, even if it's even if it's agreeing to disagree.
- 41:33Speaker 1: Right right, right right. What I'm saying, yeah, ain't. When
- 41:35Speaker 1: you sit down with somebody, you ain't looking for them
- 41:37Speaker 1: to just adopt your opinion.
- 41:38Speaker 3: For sure.
- 41:39Speaker 1: The sit down is to show that at least we have,
- 41:41Speaker 1: at least we could speak, and it showed the effort
- 41:43Speaker 1: from both sides, for sure. You know.
- 41:45Speaker 3: That's that's what I feel like we need more of
- 41:47Speaker 3: that in general right now, just in America.
- 41:49Speaker 1: You know a lot of people got it in their
- 41:51Speaker 1: mind that when shit goes so far that it ain't
- 41:53Speaker 1: no talking. Somebody got shot, it ain't no talking, right, bro,
- 41:57Speaker 1: How many walls didn't happen that had to end eventually?
- 42:01Speaker 3: For sure.
- 42:02Speaker 1: Somebody got hurt in every war, but they still had
- 42:05Speaker 1: to end eventually.
- 42:06Speaker 3: Yep.
- 42:06Speaker 1: So that's what I'd be wanting people to understand that
- 42:08Speaker 1: you got to leave room for conversation with sure.
- 42:11Speaker 3: I mean, that's why a lot of the street shit
- 42:12Speaker 3: never ends, because it's like it's like bloodshed happens and
- 42:15Speaker 3: then somebody has to say, Okay, that was the last
- 42:19Speaker 3: blood to shed. I gotta get one now, you know
- 42:21Speaker 3: what I'm saying. So I appreciate you pulling up man,
- 42:24Speaker 3: Hurricane Chris, thinking for your time. Brother, you dig there
- 42:26Speaker 3: it is
