- 0:15Speaker 4: artists on artists on artists.
- 0:16Speaker 1: Do you know why they call it show business? I
- 0:19Speaker 1: always wonder that.
- 0:26Speaker 2: Welcome back to artists on artists on artists on artists.
- 0:29Speaker 2: Today we take a little field trip to flavor toown.
- 0:33Speaker 2: That's right, We've got four of the best field producers
- 0:37Speaker 2: of Guy Fieri's Diners, Drive Ins and Dives.
- 0:43Speaker 4: Guy Fieri is known for showing you some of the
- 0:45Speaker 4: greatest restaurants in the country. But who finds the restaurants
- 0:49Speaker 4: and shows them to him? That's where these guys and
- 0:53Speaker 4: girls come in.
- 0:55Speaker 1: So get out your barbecue wipes and let's listen in.
- 1:03Speaker 5: I want to see this hash Brown place first tomorrow.
- 1:07Speaker 1: Is that Bobby's Hash or Michigan Hash.
- 1:09Speaker 5: It's Michigan Hash with the Hash Brown castrole. Okay, I
- 1:13Speaker 5: think we need that for episode one of season two.
- 1:18Speaker 1: Is that gonna clash with the Potato Farm? Because the
- 1:23Speaker 1: potato farm guys are really really intent on shooting on Thursday,
- 1:26Speaker 1: and they're I mean, their mom and pop. I'm shocked
- 1:30Speaker 1: at how angry they are.
- 1:32Speaker 4: Honestly, I cannot believe you guys are talking about food
- 1:36Speaker 4: right now after that meal we just ate.
- 1:39Speaker 3: Oh come, it wasn't that bad.
- 1:41Speaker 2: Stuffed. I'm absolutely stuffed.
- 1:44Speaker 1: It wasn't that bad.
- 1:45Speaker 3: This is why we call you MOUSEI.
- 1:47Speaker 2: I know why because I have a small stomach.
- 1:52Speaker 3: Yeah, you talk like that.
- 1:54Speaker 2: Hey, why did you don't need to.
- 1:56Speaker 4: Call me out like that just because we have microphones.
- 1:58Speaker 4: It feels like you every time time that we're in
- 2:00Speaker 4: some sort of place where you're more public, mean to me.
- 2:06Speaker 3: Shut up. Let's introduce ourselves, all right.
- 2:09Speaker 1: Yeah, for the for the listeners at home, we're taking
- 2:12Speaker 1: we are the field producers of Guy Fieri's Diners, drive Ins,
- 2:17Speaker 1: and Dives, and we're taking you on the road with
- 2:19Speaker 1: us to show you what it's like in a day
- 2:21Speaker 1: of a life of our job. So I'm Kendra Matthews.
- 2:26Speaker 3: How long have you been working for Guy?
- 2:28Speaker 1: I've been working for Guy eight years. Eight years, ten
- 2:32Speaker 1: seasons and a decade of fun. Two years were a
- 2:36Speaker 1: different thing that were just in more of a friend capacity,
- 2:39Speaker 1: But the final eight years of the decade of Guy Fieri.
- 2:43Speaker 1: That was a professional capacity. You're I'm counting it. I'm
- 2:48Speaker 1: rounding up, baby. We're a happy crew.
- 2:51Speaker 2: We are.
- 2:52Speaker 3: What's up, folks.
- 2:53Speaker 5: I'm Johnny Pastrami and I've been working for Guy for
- 2:57Speaker 5: about six years. I started working for Giatta and Guy
- 3:02Speaker 5: swooped me up and I've been on the road with
- 3:04Speaker 5: these motherfuckers ever since.
- 3:06Speaker 4: What was your what was your last name when you
- 3:07Speaker 4: were working for Giata, because I know you picked up
- 3:09Speaker 4: pastrami when you were.
- 3:10Speaker 3: Working for I was John Smith at the time.
- 3:16Speaker 5: And then I met Guy and he said, you're Johnny pistrom.
- 3:20Speaker 1: I remember he took one look at you and he said,
- 3:23Speaker 1: Johnny Pistrovi.
- 3:25Speaker 3: I think it was a piece of pastrami hanging out
- 3:27Speaker 3: of my mouth.
- 3:29Speaker 2: You always do.
- 3:30Speaker 5: I'm a sloppy boy like that, all right, mouse, sloppy boy,
- 3:34Speaker 5: mousie boy.
- 3:35Speaker 6: Hit it.
- 3:36Speaker 2: My name is Cedric James Williams Ford the Third. Tell
- 3:41Speaker 2: him what we call you, mousie. You guys call me mousie.
- 3:44Speaker 3: Dirty little mouse.
- 3:44Speaker 2: I know I've been working.
- 3:46Speaker 3: Dirty yucky little raby, your moldy little mouse.
- 3:50Speaker 6: Didn't let a mouse get a driver's license.
- 3:52Speaker 3: Stop the put a mouse through a car wash because
- 3:56Speaker 3: he needs it.
- 3:56Speaker 4: Hey, I look, I am not stinky. I'm just covered
- 4:01Speaker 4: in gravy from the meal.
- 4:03Speaker 2: Listen.
- 4:04Speaker 4: I have been working for Guy Fietti. I'm the only
- 4:06Speaker 4: one who says his name correctly. Everyone actively actively chooses
- 4:11Speaker 4: not to here as some sort of stick it to
- 4:14Speaker 4: the man kind of mentality, which I'm into. We're working
- 4:17Speaker 4: for Guy Fiertti for going on seven years now, but
- 4:23Speaker 4: it's been ten years of fun. I've been friends with
- 4:26Speaker 4: him for three, so Kender's got a.
- 4:29Speaker 2: Little bit of fun.
- 4:31Speaker 6: Hears of fun.
- 4:33Speaker 7: A decade of fun.
- 4:38Speaker 2: It's been a decade of fun.
- 4:40Speaker 6: Man.
- 4:40Speaker 1: I can't believe our decades have lined up almost exactly.
- 4:44Speaker 2: It's such a funny thing with Guy.
- 4:45Speaker 4: It's the only kind of person where you start you
- 4:48Speaker 4: have a work anniversary and you have a friend anniversary
- 4:50Speaker 4: because he makes friends with everybody and he hires his friends.
- 4:53Speaker 4: He says, I only hire friends, which I think is
- 4:56Speaker 4: really awesome. And so once you start becoming friends, he goes,
- 4:59Speaker 4: you're on the list, and when there's an opening, we'll
- 5:01Speaker 4: fill you in. But you are my friend. So it's
- 5:03Speaker 4: a really nice way to get into work for him.
- 5:06Speaker 4: He actually picked me up at a diner. I was, yeah,
- 5:11Speaker 4: you guys don't know this. Oh yeah, I was working
- 5:14Speaker 4: at Skitties in Traverse City, Michigan, and I served him
- 5:19Speaker 4: a potato hash that he honestly couldn't take, and he said,
- 5:25Speaker 4: I need you, I need you on my side. So
- 5:27Speaker 4: it's been harmony ever since.
- 5:30Speaker 5: Okay, clam chowder, your turn, clam chowder, what's up?
- 5:38Speaker 1: My name is clam Clammy.
- 5:40Speaker 6: Speak up. I can't hear you.
- 5:41Speaker 2: Yeah, my name is clam Chowder. Claim me talk the
- 5:45Speaker 2: other way. You're talking right into my face. I'm sorry,
- 5:48Speaker 2: I can't do this right. I might've been working for guy.
- 5:54Speaker 2: It's been a decade of fun and two decades of eating.
- 6:03Speaker 2: I've been working for the guy for twenty odd years now,
- 6:08Speaker 2: and I'm the guy who eats.
- 6:10Speaker 1: But only one of those decades has been fun.
- 6:13Speaker 2: I'll tell you what the first decade was worth. Wow,
- 6:17Speaker 2: that's the opposite. Well, I love food, and for the
- 6:20Speaker 2: first decade the guy wouldn't let me get my little
- 6:23Speaker 2: hands on him. But now the second decade, he's let
- 6:26Speaker 2: me dine in with him every freaking meal.
- 6:30Speaker 4: Yeah, cliff Chowder is the taster. You know he eats
- 6:33Speaker 4: everything before guy does. There's a lot of freaks out
- 6:35Speaker 4: there that want to take a guy down.
- 6:37Speaker 2: It's one to check if it's poisoned, and two to
- 6:41Speaker 2: check if it's palatable. Then, let me tell you, sometimes
- 6:45Speaker 2: poisoned always palatable. Baby.
- 6:49Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, we never try. And because I guess we
- 6:51Speaker 1: could talk about our different roles as field producers. Because
- 6:55Speaker 1: I'm more in the like scheduling, coordinating like uh with
- 7:00Speaker 1: the you know, restaurant owners, people like that location stuff
- 7:05Speaker 1: like that.
- 7:06Speaker 2: I'm transpo.
- 7:07Speaker 4: I handle a lot of the coordination back and forth
- 7:10Speaker 4: and making sure there's parking and making sure that we
- 7:12Speaker 4: can load it in a load out at the right times.
- 7:14Speaker 5: I handle uh guys personals. I take care of his wallet,
- 7:20Speaker 5: his family, his phone.
- 7:23Speaker 3: I I I now get the fuck off. We claim
- 7:29Speaker 3: chowder smart.
- 7:32Speaker 2: No.
- 7:32Speaker 3: I handle him from a personal producing sense.
- 7:35Speaker 5: If he has to do outside jobs, I usually coordinate
- 7:38Speaker 5: with production and we work together. I get his son on.
- 7:43Speaker 5: I'll coordinate. We have his son on every couple episodes.
- 7:46Speaker 5: It's a good he's a good guy guy.
- 7:48Speaker 4: You U should just bring him on for every episode.
- 7:50Speaker 4: I don't know why guy keeps doing every other.
- 7:52Speaker 2: He pushes them away, and I do the food I
- 7:57Speaker 2: produce and field the oooh.
- 8:00Speaker 1: And what he means by that is we we scot
- 8:03Speaker 1: the locations, We coordinate with everybody, We find the best diners,
- 8:07Speaker 1: drive ins, and dives, and then we sit clam Chowder
- 8:10Speaker 1: down at a table. He sits silently while the chef
- 8:15Speaker 1: of the establishment places a bit of food in front
- 8:18Speaker 1: of him, and he gives the meanest look I've ever
- 8:20Speaker 1: seen to every small business owner as he slowly takes
- 8:25Speaker 1: a bite of food from every bar. And he doesn't
- 8:27Speaker 1: reveal what he's gonna say until the very end.
- 8:30Speaker 4: And can I just say, I mean we're talking about
- 8:33Speaker 4: you know, sometimes clem Jowder has been poisoned.
- 8:36Speaker 7: I don't think I've ever met anyone in.
- 8:38Speaker 4: My life who's changed more before my very eyes.
- 8:43Speaker 2: These last twenty years. Let me tell you a decade
- 8:46Speaker 2: of fun. I feel like change.
- 8:48Speaker 7: I feel like then you're you're living in the fun.
- 8:50Speaker 6: But there was clearly a decade of work and change.
- 8:53Speaker 7: I feel like.
- 8:54Speaker 4: I've met seven different people and they've all been clam chowder.
- 8:56Speaker 5: You guys, you're probably wondering why we don't have God
- 9:00Speaker 5: in our car. Well, guy, and Guy and Clam can't
- 9:05Speaker 5: travel in the same thing. It's like it's like the
- 9:07Speaker 5: queen and her and her prince.
- 9:09Speaker 1: Yeah, well it's it's also like a you can't have.
- 9:14Speaker 2: Situation.
- 9:15Speaker 6: Yeah, you can't have too many.
- 9:16Speaker 1: Distinguished members of the political government in one room because
- 9:19Speaker 1: what if it gets bombed? So have one guy sit
- 9:22Speaker 1: out of every state.
- 9:25Speaker 5: Place, every restaurant in the world. If we took Clam
- 9:29Speaker 5: out of this show, guy's got nowhere to go. If
- 9:33Speaker 5: it was up to Mouseies, we'd be sending guy to
- 9:35Speaker 5: the freaking food court to North of.
- 9:37Speaker 2: M Hey, don't say that, man, you'd be so mean
- 9:39Speaker 2: to you today.
- 9:40Speaker 1: Speaking of clam chowder seven different personalities, does anyone remember
- 9:44Speaker 1: his Baroque era?
- 9:50Speaker 2: That era.
- 9:53Speaker 6: Around like a little French prince.
- 9:56Speaker 2: It was two thousand and five.
- 10:00Speaker 7: How did you find that shirt with all those archways
- 10:02Speaker 7: in it?
- 10:03Speaker 2: I found it in a mall. It's a little artist.
- 10:08Speaker 2: This would be great on you. So I put it on,
- 10:12Speaker 2: didn't take it off for three years.
- 10:14Speaker 5: One of my favorite clam chowder periods was the Blue period.
- 10:18Speaker 7: Oh that was really that was controversial. I didn't quite
- 10:23Speaker 7: get it. I didn't get that.
- 10:25Speaker 6: It seemed like a reaction to his Dadaist period.
- 10:30Speaker 2: Well, nobody got my dada Is period. So I went
- 10:33Speaker 2: on blue Hey, I.
- 10:34Speaker 8: Got it, I got it, I got I was already
- 10:37Speaker 8: got it.
- 10:38Speaker 4: I'll tell you what period I liked the most of his.
- 10:41Speaker 4: It was his fifties period.
- 10:44Speaker 2: That was wild.
- 10:45Speaker 7: That was just kind of happy days.
- 10:46Speaker 1: It was really get into the car, all sockhop like,
- 10:50Speaker 1: and I was Finn was a different life.
- 10:53Speaker 2: Let me tell you that, a different life for all.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Walked into this personality for what a decade of fun?
- 10:59Speaker 2: Yeah, this is been clammed for the last decade. I
- 11:02Speaker 2: went through six different iterations in ten years and landed
- 11:07Speaker 2: on this.
- 11:07Speaker 6: Oh and we love you like this.
- 11:09Speaker 5: You're a family at this show, and that's what makes
- 11:11Speaker 5: us so good because we travel so much.
- 11:14Speaker 4: Yeah, I want to bring something up because people always
- 11:17Speaker 4: get a little disappointed when we bring up that we
- 11:19Speaker 4: like to try a lot on the restaurants before Guy
- 11:22Speaker 4: comes in this say I thought Guy found these. Uh,
- 11:24Speaker 4: you know, I just wanted to address that. You know,
- 11:26Speaker 4: it takes a village to raise a child, and this
- 11:29Speaker 4: show is our child. You know, sometimes we gotta try places,
- 11:32Speaker 4: and you should see all the places we go to.
- 11:34Speaker 7: Oh, so many.
- 11:36Speaker 3: Because here's the thing.
- 11:37Speaker 5: What people don't know is that it started out with
- 11:40Speaker 5: Guy when he pitched the show to the networks. This
- 11:44Speaker 5: it was his selects. But at some point the beast
- 11:47Speaker 5: got bigger than himself.
- 11:49Speaker 3: This show.
- 11:50Speaker 5: We got to coordinate where to fly and where to
- 11:52Speaker 5: send our camera crew.
- 11:54Speaker 2: And yeah, Guy was choosing it for the first what
- 11:57Speaker 2: four seasons? Yeah, we all decade of fine, I mean
- 12:01Speaker 2: pre decade of fun. I was working as his wife's
- 12:04Speaker 2: assistant at that time. Girl girl, girl Fieri.
- 12:15Speaker 5: I think girls incredible, girl Fiery was so hot.
- 12:20Speaker 9: It was She doesn't like that we call her that,
- 12:22Speaker 9: by the way, she does not like that we call
- 12:24Speaker 9: her that.
- 12:25Speaker 1: No, her name is Jessica. But we're a family. But
- 12:33Speaker 1: you know that it's true. There are a lot of
- 12:35Speaker 1: places that haven't made the cut over the years that
- 12:39Speaker 1: we've tried, and for one reason or another, they just
- 12:42Speaker 1: haven't worked out. What what are people's like, what are
- 12:46Speaker 1: our worst like didn't make the cuts?
- 12:51Speaker 10: Oh geez, Well, it's a it's a vicious kind of line,
- 12:55Speaker 10: right because because you you you eat somewhere that's a diner,
- 12:59Speaker 10: a drive or dive, so outside it looks bad and
- 13:02Speaker 10: on the inside.
- 13:03Speaker 7: Usually it is bad.
- 13:05Speaker 4: That's why this show is so special, because you got
- 13:07Speaker 4: places that you say, this looks like shit.
- 13:09Speaker 3: It's a diamond in the rough. Yeah, because a lot of.
- 13:11Speaker 1: Time it's not false advertising. A lot of these places
- 13:15Speaker 1: taste like shit, and you shouldn't either.
- 13:18Speaker 5: What you're seeing in the show is the one diamond.
- 13:20Speaker 5: So think for every good diamond, we got a lot
- 13:23Speaker 5: of rock.
- 13:24Speaker 4: You gotta have this restaurant to give you diarrhea, But
- 13:28Speaker 4: it just takes that one.
- 13:32Speaker 1: And you know what, I do think that this show
- 13:34Speaker 1: is complicit in a problem of where you know that
- 13:41Speaker 1: phenomenon where you walk by a restaurant with super dilapidated wood.
- 13:46Speaker 1: Everything's peeling off, it's dirty, there's a B Code health
- 13:50Speaker 1: rating on the front, and you think to yourself, Wow,
- 13:53Speaker 1: this has gotta be good.
- 13:56Speaker 6: I feel like I want to set the record straight.
- 13:59Speaker 1: It's normally not it's normally a risk.
- 14:02Speaker 4: This is what keeps me up at night too. I
- 14:04Speaker 4: get nervous that we're part of the problem and we're
- 14:06Speaker 4: causing the problem. Right, makes me really nervous. It's like gambling.
- 14:10Speaker 7: It really is.
- 14:10Speaker 2: How close can you get to looking bad and be good?
- 14:16Speaker 5: I'll tell you, but it makes me feel better that
- 14:19Speaker 5: we are on the front lines. Yeah, because I mean
- 14:22Speaker 5: we we one of us is food poison gets food
- 14:25Speaker 5: poisoning once a month.
- 14:26Speaker 6: Especially Clam.
- 14:27Speaker 5: And every car, every god every car we drive. We
- 14:32Speaker 5: got jumper cables in the back and three boxes of thumbs.
- 14:37Speaker 2: I go through thirty dumbs weekly. I'm addicted to that shit.
- 14:43Speaker 2: It gets me through most meals.
- 14:45Speaker 1: Easy clam, easy clamp. We gotta wheating you off the stuff.
- 14:49Speaker 5: I'd have to say my biggest fail in recommending and
- 14:53Speaker 5: pitching a restaurant for the show. I really wanted to
- 14:58Speaker 5: try this, uh, this spam restaurant.
- 15:02Speaker 3: And they made spam.
- 15:04Speaker 2: Oh, they made fresh sam.
- 15:06Speaker 3: They fried the spam. I remember that.
- 15:09Speaker 4: We walked in and I said, uh, I said, oh,
- 15:12Speaker 4: you like Hawaii And they said, what's Hawaii?
- 15:17Speaker 7: I said, oh, we're in trouble here.
- 15:19Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 15:19Speaker 5: I think it was on the corner of Alabama, the corner.
- 15:23Speaker 2: Of the state of the whole state.
- 15:27Speaker 1: Of when you get down there, that's what spam for
- 15:31Speaker 1: four weeks after.
- 15:32Speaker 5: That, Yeah, I felt so bad. Clam almost had to
- 15:34Speaker 5: be hospitalized. You wouldn't stop.
- 15:36Speaker 2: But I will tell you once. I'll tell you a
- 15:39Speaker 2: million times. I ain't never going to the hospital.
- 15:43Speaker 1: That is a vow that he's made, and he's actually
- 15:46Speaker 1: presented us all with you know, paperwork that says that
- 15:50Speaker 1: I can't take it.
- 15:51Speaker 3: He's signed a d n R for you the other day,
- 15:53Speaker 3: didn't I?
- 15:54Speaker 2: Yeah, I go down. Leave me be.
- 16:01Speaker 7: I don't know why we have to sign those legally,
- 16:04Speaker 7: you have to sign. Why do we have to sign?
- 16:07Speaker 3: It should have been I Why did I sign your
- 16:13Speaker 3: dn R?
- 16:15Speaker 2: It should be done. I'll tell you guys.
- 16:18Speaker 4: There was a one restaurant I feel like my big flop.
- 16:23Speaker 4: I tried to get us to shoot in the Des
- 16:26Speaker 4: Moines courthouse. I had heard that there was a really
- 16:31Speaker 4: delicious breakfast burrito in the basement, and it turns out
- 16:36Speaker 4: that was just a vicious trick by my wife to
- 16:38Speaker 4: get me uh into a custody hearing.
- 16:42Speaker 2: I remember that that was tough. That was really frustrated.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Literally, we didn't scout that place ahead of time. We
- 16:53Speaker 1: remember we were like, that sounds really cool. I bet
- 16:55Speaker 1: it's fine, let's just go anyway, send everybody.
- 16:59Speaker 2: It was really tough for me because I was just
- 17:01Speaker 2: so hungry at that time.
- 17:03Speaker 3: I'll tell you, your wife's Mouseie.
- 17:05Speaker 2: Is a snake. It's a snake to a mouse situation.
- 17:09Speaker 2: She up and that's the opposite to tract. I think
- 17:12Speaker 2: that's why I loved it, and I still love her.
- 17:14Speaker 2: I still see no.
- 17:15Speaker 1: Man, No, you just want to get gobbled.
- 17:18Speaker 3: You such a little fucking ship.
- 17:20Speaker 4: Hey man, you were so nice to be earlier. You
- 17:23Speaker 4: were so nice to me. You gave me twenty five
- 17:26Speaker 4: dollars and just said go have a nice.
- 17:32Speaker 7: Johnnystrom. Why are you such an assholehen the cameras are.
- 17:35Speaker 2: On my guy.
- 17:37Speaker 1: I remember my my my biggest fail as a as
- 17:42Speaker 1: a field producer for this thing. I remember taking a
- 17:45Speaker 1: gamble on this place called Dumpster Dive, and it was
- 17:51Speaker 1: apparently run by that fisherman. Fisherman turned you know, a
- 17:57Speaker 1: shrimp cook.
- 17:58Speaker 3: And that fisherman.
- 18:00Speaker 4: We all we cannot say his name. He's like beetlejuice.
- 18:06Speaker 4: If you bring him up, he'll show up. He'll be
- 18:08Speaker 4: at the next place if we do. If we say
- 18:09Speaker 4: that fisherman.
- 18:10Speaker 6: He'll show up.
- 18:11Speaker 1: But I literally I start burping shrimp every time I
- 18:13Speaker 1: say his name. It doesn't matter when I've eaten it.
- 18:15Speaker 1: But it turns out he was cooking out of an
- 18:19Speaker 1: actual dumpster and it was not good.
- 18:23Speaker 6: It was not good. I thought it was a turn
- 18:25Speaker 6: of praise. Usually it normally is.
- 18:27Speaker 4: But back then he sets things that are literally like
- 18:29Speaker 4: bear traps for us, Like several restaurants we've shown up,
- 18:34Speaker 4: you know, usually when it has something like dive in
- 18:36Speaker 4: the name or drive in or diner, we'll show up
- 18:40Speaker 4: and that Fisherman is there, and we always know we're
- 18:42Speaker 4: gonna be fucked and clam.
- 18:43Speaker 2: You get the brunt of it, Oh God, and boy
- 18:47Speaker 2: did I get the brunt of that.
- 18:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 18:49Speaker 1: We should stop getting tricked by this one Fisherman, I
- 18:52Speaker 1: got it. He keeps creating these really real looking email signatures.
- 18:59Speaker 7: Crazy from all these.
- 19:00Speaker 2: For an, I got a plate of scraps and garbage, right,
- 19:04Speaker 2: a little fucking leprechaun. He buys the websites too. I mean,
- 19:08Speaker 2: they're never Gmail.
- 19:09Speaker 3: It's just domain after domain.
- 19:11Speaker 2: Remember the LASTI we saw we almost lost sun Fieryn.
- 19:17Speaker 1: No, you reject a Fisherman one time from a reality
- 19:20Speaker 1: TV show and you will never hear the end of it.
- 19:23Speaker 6: Swear to god.
- 19:24Speaker 2: It's really crazy, man. I feel like one of my
- 19:27Speaker 2: biggest flops maybe have been that little mining town in
- 19:32Speaker 2: Colorado Rockies. You guys who was before your time, I think,
- 19:38Speaker 2: and just showed up. It turned out to be a
- 19:40Speaker 2: crack den. Oh yeah, I was saying Silverthorne, right, Silverthorn.
- 19:45Speaker 6: Yeah, you know.
- 19:46Speaker 5: I'll tell you one of our one of our uh
- 19:51Speaker 5: flop episodes on a whole was.
- 19:53Speaker 2: When let's talk about worst episode, let's pick it up?
- 19:58Speaker 5: Was he guy who was that said we should film
- 20:02Speaker 5: and still go out the day after nine to eleven?
- 20:05Speaker 2: Oh?
- 20:05Speaker 6: Yeah, that was me.
- 20:07Speaker 3: It was just wrong.
- 20:08Speaker 2: You were dealing with something. It felt like you were
- 20:10Speaker 2: tried to deny reality at.
- 20:12Speaker 3: That Where were we? I think it was Michigan.
- 20:16Speaker 2: Nine twelve in Michigan.
- 20:17Speaker 1: Everybody in my family we pushed through. If something bad happens,
- 20:21Speaker 1: you go to work the next day. That's what I've
- 20:23Speaker 1: always believed that happened when Papa passed away, when mem
- 20:28Speaker 1: passed away, we get right back on the farm and
- 20:31Speaker 1: we get plowing.
- 20:33Speaker 5: It just felt wrong for guy to be having a
- 20:36Speaker 5: cheeseburger smoothie day after nine to eleven, and I.
- 20:39Speaker 1: Acknowledge that now. I think it was a little soon
- 20:44Speaker 1: and the food we gave him was a little too
- 20:46Speaker 1: insane in contrast with the buildings falling down. I do
- 20:52Speaker 1: regret that, so I do want to go on record
- 20:54Speaker 1: and apologize.
- 20:55Speaker 4: It was just embarrassing for him to try to try
- 20:57Speaker 4: to shoehorn nine to eleven into that too, because.
- 21:00Speaker 6: He did have to apologize.
- 21:01Speaker 1: He did have to dedicate the cheese butter smoothie to
- 21:04Speaker 1: the victims.
- 21:05Speaker 7: Which which was an insult.
- 21:06Speaker 3: And I remember he said, we want to do this
- 21:07Speaker 3: like SNL.
- 21:08Speaker 5: We want to like have someone play the piano and
- 21:10Speaker 5: then he eats this cheeseburger.
- 21:12Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah, well it's the thing, you know, that classic
- 21:15Speaker 2: episode of SNL post nine to eleven.
- 21:17Speaker 6: No, well, they did it. They did it years later.
- 21:20Speaker 2: We were Hillary Clinton lost.
- 21:22Speaker 1: We were ahead of our time. That's all I'll say.
- 21:24Speaker 6: They ripped that.
- 21:25Speaker 1: They stole that from me. I submitted a packet nine ten.
- 21:31Speaker 2: You submitted an SNL packmitt in.
- 21:33Speaker 1: An SNL packet five sketches too topical, Kendra on nine ten,
- 21:39Speaker 1: two thousand. Wow, I didn't know that I submitted a packet,
- 21:42Speaker 1: and what do you know, twenty years later.
- 21:44Speaker 2: An absolute decade of get Ito, decades of fun later.
- 21:50Speaker 6: You know when you say a decade loosely.
- 21:52Speaker 7: Yeah, decades.
- 21:53Speaker 2: Not aod guy, but.
- 21:55Speaker 3: Didn't Billy Joel play it after eleven?
- 21:57Speaker 2: I believe it was Paul Simon.
- 21:59Speaker 1: Simon Well, either way, they stole from me because in
- 22:02Speaker 1: my I had a hilarious sketch, the second sketch of
- 22:06Speaker 1: my packet. It was a it was, it was a
- 22:10Speaker 1: it was It was Will Ferrell. He was supposed to
- 22:12Speaker 1: be dressed up in a rat costume and he was
- 22:15Speaker 1: playing piano, and he wouldn't stop playing piano.
- 22:18Speaker 6: That was the whole gag.
- 22:19Speaker 2: That's sketch.
- 22:21Speaker 3: I can't believe it. I didn't know you were a writer.
- 22:24Speaker 6: Listen. I had a whole life before my decade of fun.
- 22:27Speaker 5: The only thing I've seen you writer Excel sheets talking
- 22:29Speaker 5: about fries.
- 22:31Speaker 6: And that's what I'm good, you know.
- 22:35Speaker 4: But also they're really funny. Those Excel sheets are so funny.
- 22:39Speaker 6: Funny names for all the fries.
- 22:41Speaker 2: I love that you only send them out on Friday.
- 22:45Speaker 2: That's really fun. Look at that one. Look look at
- 22:49Speaker 2: this perfect dive.
- 22:50Speaker 4: Oh I don't know, that's really bouncing on the line.
- 22:54Speaker 4: Do you see the event there's a lot of smoke
- 22:55Speaker 4: coming out. That didn't indicates to me that they're not
- 22:57Speaker 4: cleaning the grill.
- 22:58Speaker 2: That could be.
- 23:00Speaker 3: The guy loves a greasy, dirty grill.
- 23:04Speaker 4: Well, let's talk about this too. Speaking of grills, you know,
- 23:07Speaker 4: when we're looking locations, the go behind is really important,
- 23:10Speaker 4: right because he joins, He joins the chef in the kitchen,
- 23:13Speaker 4: he sees how it's made.
- 23:14Speaker 2: And we've gone in and it's.
- 23:16Speaker 4: Really hard when you want to go to a place
- 23:17Speaker 4: that is nothing special but has an amazing meal. Sometimes
- 23:20Speaker 4: those kitchens are a horror show.
- 23:22Speaker 2: Let me tell you. After trying food and then walking
- 23:25Speaker 2: back to see how it was made, almost worse than
- 23:27Speaker 2: most of the food.
- 23:28Speaker 6: Sometimes, Yeah, it makes it absolutely disgust.
- 23:33Speaker 3: When we went to that wing shop.
- 23:35Speaker 2: The wings I've ever had. It was a wing.
- 23:38Speaker 5: Shop in South Florida, and the going back there was
- 23:43Speaker 5: so rancid and shit that we we.
- 23:48Speaker 3: I remember, we moved. It was your idea, Kendra.
- 23:51Speaker 5: We filmed him eating outside and then when he went
- 23:54Speaker 5: back in the kitchen.
- 23:55Speaker 3: We went to an olive garden down the street.
- 23:58Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 23:58Speaker 5: Yeah, we had him cook the wing in the ottive gardens. Yeah,
- 24:01Speaker 5: because we couldn't even fit a camera.
- 24:03Speaker 7: Because I'll tell.
- 24:04Speaker 1: You what most You don't want to know what most
- 24:07Speaker 1: restaurant kitchens look like. If we destroy your faith in
- 24:11Speaker 1: the fabric of society. You won't want to eat anything.
- 24:16Speaker 4: I have a lot of friends who work on the
- 24:18Speaker 4: kitchen nightmares, location scouts.
- 24:20Speaker 3: Guys over there, really good guys, and they lose.
- 24:23Speaker 7: They lose them. They drop like flies.
- 24:25Speaker 4: They make huge, huge, huge life decisions, so they get
- 24:28Speaker 4: committed or you know, it drives them mad, you know,
- 24:32Speaker 4: because that's the kind of stuff that you know, we
- 24:34Speaker 4: are going to find good restaurants that look like shit.
- 24:37Speaker 4: They're going to find bad restaurants that look like shit.
- 24:41Speaker 2: You know, I.
- 24:42Speaker 1: Don't want to do you do you, clammy? Do you
- 24:45Speaker 1: know their taste tester?
- 24:46Speaker 2: Oh? Yeah, that's put up. Good guy, good guy. We
- 24:52Speaker 2: served together.
- 24:53Speaker 7: What'd you serve?
- 24:54Speaker 2: Serve food? Oh?
- 24:56Speaker 3: I thought you served in a war.
- 24:58Speaker 2: No, no, we both worked to book a DEBEPO in
- 25:03Speaker 2: ninety four.
- 25:04Speaker 6: Thank you for your service.
- 25:05Speaker 2: Thank you for your service.
- 25:10Speaker 6: Oh we got a diner.
- 25:12Speaker 2: Look at this.
- 25:13Speaker 6: Oh it's a Johnny rocket.
- 25:15Speaker 1: Oh. I keep getting because sometimes they make them. You know,
- 25:20Speaker 1: when a corporation makes one of their chains look a
- 25:22Speaker 1: little different from the rest of all, like McDonald's.
- 25:26Speaker 5: When they make them look vintage. Yeah, and they throw
- 25:30Speaker 5: us off our game.
- 25:31Speaker 2: Kendred.
- 25:32Speaker 4: I remember that happened to you that one time. You
- 25:35Speaker 4: you brought it all the way to the top. You said, guy,
- 25:36Speaker 4: there's this amazing place you gotta go. And it ended
- 25:39Speaker 4: up being a Bubba Gump.
- 25:41Speaker 2: Yes, And that whole episode four Bubba.
- 25:45Speaker 1: Gumps, it was just Bubba Gump after Bubba Gump, after
- 25:49Speaker 1: Bubba Gump.
- 25:50Speaker 5: That time after the episode after we went into a
- 25:53Speaker 5: diner that was supposed to have really good, uh French toast,
- 25:57Speaker 5: and it was a Forever.
- 26:00Speaker 6: It was a Forever twenty one and toast to be found.
- 26:04Speaker 2: I was eating a blouse. No.
- 26:08Speaker 8: Could I just say it's straight because there was an
- 26:11Speaker 8: employee who always had French toast on her brakes and somehow,
- 26:15Speaker 8: through an elaborate game of telephone that got miscommunicated to
- 26:18Speaker 8: me by several locals.
- 26:21Speaker 4: Can I just say a guy never backs out of
- 26:25Speaker 4: a shoot, and and I love him for that.
- 26:27Speaker 2: If if, well, he'll show up.
- 26:29Speaker 4: He went through that Forever twenty one and he cut
- 26:32Speaker 4: those pants with a knife like a trooper. And I
- 26:35Speaker 4: respect him because he never dresses us down in front
- 26:38Speaker 4: of any sort of snaff He always saves that for
- 26:42Speaker 4: when we're alone, which is why none of us want
- 26:45Speaker 4: to be alone with him? To be honest, Hey, speaking.
- 26:47Speaker 5: Of staff, we should give a shout out to another
- 26:50Speaker 5: great person on our on our show, Tippy head of
- 26:53Speaker 5: a wardrobe, Tippy Bibby.
- 26:56Speaker 2: She has three outfits she puts Guy in.
- 26:59Speaker 4: It's can I say, Tippy the only wardrobe person that
- 27:06Speaker 4: I've ever seen that drives a motorcycle and.
- 27:11Speaker 9: Brings her outfits from location to location on her motorcycle.
- 27:14Speaker 1: Because she's got three hangars, got three hangars and they
- 27:18Speaker 1: always work.
- 27:19Speaker 5: And the woman doesn't steam his clothes because it's just flying.
- 27:24Speaker 1: And they're supposed to be kind of dirty, like he's
- 27:26Speaker 1: supposed to kind of look like he's enjoying the food.
- 27:28Speaker 7: Yeah, boy, does I mean there's so many flames on it?
- 27:31Speaker 4: You know some of those flames are just imprints from
- 27:34Speaker 4: the from the Harley and all.
- 27:35Speaker 5: Those sunglasses she gets him, She keeps it, She keeps
- 27:39Speaker 5: it always different.
- 27:40Speaker 2: Well, you know what's crazy? Can I talk to you
- 27:43Speaker 2: guys about something anything?
- 27:45Speaker 3: Anything?
- 27:47Speaker 2: You feel when you found a flavor town? When you
- 27:50Speaker 2: know guy is about to enter a flavor town? Yeah,
- 27:54Speaker 2: nothing's like what was you?
- 27:56Speaker 7: Does everyone remember their first flavor town?
- 27:59Speaker 2: I remember yeah, I remember mine too. Oh yeah, we
- 28:03Speaker 2: all remember.
- 28:04Speaker 7: We want to talk about it or not.
- 28:07Speaker 6: This is kind of a quiet memory.
- 28:10Speaker 7: Let's all take a second. I remember, I'm quiet.
- 28:13Speaker 3: Flavor down memories. Yeah, there's not much to talk about.
- 28:16Speaker 1: They're just yeah, it's kind of you went to a
- 28:18Speaker 1: diner and it tasted good.
- 28:21Speaker 6: You never you never forget your first It's.
- 28:23Speaker 7: Kind of like, I guess it's kind of like describing
- 28:25Speaker 7: a color.
- 28:26Speaker 2: You know what I mean? How do you do it?
- 28:30Speaker 2: How do you describe? Mouth is getting all watery just
- 28:33Speaker 2: thinking about.
- 28:35Speaker 1: Uh, claim, can I ask you something? And I feel
- 28:37Speaker 1: like I should know the answer to this, But what
- 28:40Speaker 1: can I say? I'm a bad friend? How old are you?
- 28:44Speaker 7: Huh?
- 28:45Speaker 1: How old are you me?
- 28:47Speaker 2: Oh? Man, it's been what a decade of fun blass
- 28:51Speaker 2: another decade? And before that I was a server and
- 28:55Speaker 2: then before that, I feel like I'm fifty to sixty.
- 29:01Speaker 3: Oh god, Oh.
- 29:02Speaker 6: But you don't know.
- 29:03Speaker 3: You're working in the field. Mines of the war minds
- 29:07Speaker 3: of pepo really do that.
- 29:08Speaker 2: To you when you when you work those shifts, sometimes
- 29:11Speaker 2: those double shifts, it's like being in a cave with
- 29:15Speaker 2: no light. Your body just goes into some weird homeostasis state.
- 29:20Speaker 2: You come out forty eight hours later going what the
- 29:23Speaker 2: hell happened? You know?
- 29:24Speaker 1: But yeah, did you ever go into one of those
- 29:27Speaker 1: nacomas that I keep hearing about?
- 29:29Speaker 2: What's that?
- 29:31Speaker 1: It's when you work three double shifts in a row
- 29:33Speaker 1: and then you have to go to the hospital.
- 29:34Speaker 2: Oh yeah, we called it something different back in.
- 29:37Speaker 9: The day, do you guys?
- 29:41Speaker 2: I heard I had a friend who served at ABUCA.
- 29:43Speaker 2: I heard that you guys suffer from PTSD. Who was
- 29:46Speaker 2: that friend?
- 29:47Speaker 1: Uh?
- 29:47Speaker 2: Do you know Smiley Surfer? No?
- 29:50Speaker 7: No, smile, Yeah, PTSD.
- 29:53Speaker 2: They said PTSD stands for pasta taramisu sauce, dec have coffee.
- 30:01Speaker 2: That's exactly what I went through. Yeah, Smiley seems like
- 30:04Speaker 2: a good guy.
- 30:05Speaker 6: You know.
- 30:05Speaker 1: I heard there are support groups for something like Yeah,
- 30:08Speaker 1: there's like an AI for that.
- 30:10Speaker 2: No, I won't do it, amazing. You guys know my
- 30:20Speaker 2: rule though, No, hospitals do not resuscitate me if I go.
- 30:28Speaker 2: I've signed it.
- 30:28Speaker 7: I've signed it.
- 30:29Speaker 8: Man.
- 30:29Speaker 1: You know you got your sign you got your rules
- 30:33Speaker 1: that you stick to. Oh, hold on, you, guys, there's
- 30:35Speaker 1: a chef on the side.
- 30:36Speaker 6: Of the road.
- 30:38Speaker 7: I'm not gonna stop.
- 30:41Speaker 2: No, guys, guys, guys, guys, I'm not gonna stop.
- 30:44Speaker 4: And I'll tell you why. I'm not gonna stop. And
- 30:46Speaker 4: I'll tell you why I'm not gonna stop. And I'll
- 30:49Speaker 4: tell you why.
- 30:50Speaker 3: Tell me.
- 30:51Speaker 2: Look, did you look in the bucket he had behind him?
- 30:54Speaker 2: There was a fishing pull in it.
- 30:56Speaker 7: It was that fisherman. It was that fisherman.
- 30:59Speaker 6: And I know it because he looked so enticing.
- 31:01Speaker 1: It looked like he looked he looks like I trust
- 31:04Speaker 1: somebody I trust to make a rack of ribs.
- 31:06Speaker 2: I'll tell you what I did not believe in the
- 31:07Speaker 2: devil before I met that fisherman.
- 31:09Speaker 5: Turn around, I've been Dinny Johnny PASTI shot gun.
- 31:12Speaker 2: I ken't.
- 31:13Speaker 6: No, you can't shoot the fisher not worth it.
- 31:16Speaker 2: We will not shoot him.
- 31:17Speaker 5: Guy knows all the Supreme Court judges.
- 31:20Speaker 3: I'll be fine.
- 31:22Speaker 7: He does, doesn't he?
- 31:23Speaker 2: He knows all? He remember great friend with all late Remember.
- 31:27Speaker 7: When we went to Bob's Big Boy with Sonya so.
- 31:30Speaker 2: She gozzled?
- 31:33Speaker 1: Why did we cut that episode? I don't even remember that.
- 31:38Speaker 3: Many episodes we cut because.
- 31:40Speaker 7: We played that music that we didn't have license.
- 31:42Speaker 1: Oh yeah, because we played poker face as she was gozzling.
- 31:46Speaker 2: Down that double big boy.
- 31:49Speaker 6: Yeah, it was just so on my or going face
- 31:53Speaker 6: poker face.
- 31:54Speaker 3: What about milkshap with Gondo Liza Rice?
- 31:57Speaker 2: I love we used facing that ship too.
- 32:02Speaker 6: We got to talk to our music guy that episode.
- 32:05Speaker 2: Stop Guy and cond Liza go to a dive and
- 32:09Speaker 2: they both make milkshakes and compete which one is better?
- 32:12Speaker 2: And guess who got to try both of them? Yeah
- 32:16Speaker 2: it's clamor boy.
- 32:17Speaker 7: Well, well the answer never came out because we didn't.
- 32:20Speaker 2: Err. Do you want to tell us whoss better? Let's
- 32:23Speaker 2: just say Condalza eded a little something dumb. She lost,
- 32:28Speaker 2: she had a gum dumb she did it. She ended
- 32:33Speaker 2: up adding gum it does not work in milkshakes. Stuck
- 32:36Speaker 2: in the blades.
- 32:38Speaker 6: You know, I just realized something.
- 32:39Speaker 1: I think Dick Cheney may have played poker face on
- 32:42Speaker 1: purpose to stop us from airing that. That's the tato
- 32:47Speaker 1: Hash episode where he spilled all those state secrets.
- 32:49Speaker 2: Yeah. I tried to forget it that he actually shot
- 32:51Speaker 2: his friend on purpose, right, Yeah.
- 32:54Speaker 6: Yeah, it was the intent that was I couldn't.
- 32:56Speaker 4: I didn't know if that was because a guy was
- 32:59Speaker 4: dating Gaga the time.
- 33:01Speaker 7: I know that there was the lady because I saw a.
- 33:03Speaker 2: Lot of girls were taking a break with the door
- 33:06Speaker 2: on the outs.
- 33:07Speaker 4: Do you remember, do you remember all the the tabloids
- 33:10Speaker 4: lady guy Guy, they would call it that.
- 33:15Speaker 5: Airport because they're yelling lady guy God, and we're trying
- 33:20Speaker 5: to find our fucking baggage.
- 33:22Speaker 2: We're trying to find two different flights because we have
- 33:25Speaker 2: to fly, you have to fight separate.
- 33:26Speaker 3: So there's us in claim.
- 33:28Speaker 9: We couldn't get through the airport to find our baggage. Clear,
- 33:30Speaker 9: we got it on the fight. We got to the
- 33:32Speaker 9: next place. We just couldn't find the baggage claim.
- 33:35Speaker 1: I mean, I swear we got blinders when it comes
- 33:38Speaker 1: to finding baggage claims.
- 33:40Speaker 6: I cannot see a damn.
- 33:41Speaker 2: Thing, and they're always losing my bag of loose clam chowder.
- 33:44Speaker 5: You know what I think the listeners would be interested
- 33:46Speaker 5: in is when we go on hiatus and we all fast.
- 33:52Speaker 3: Guy demands it of the whole cour.
- 33:54Speaker 7: If he says, if I don't need, you don't need.
- 33:57Speaker 2: He does not.
- 33:58Speaker 3: It's to cleanse our grease palace, right, That's what he said.
- 34:01Speaker 1: Yeah, And at first I thought, you know, that's a
- 34:03Speaker 1: little inhumane. That sounds like an overstep but when you
- 34:07Speaker 1: endure years and years of what this stuff does to
- 34:11Speaker 1: your stomachs, you need a break. I could tell my
- 34:13Speaker 1: stomach was saying thank you. I don't want to work anymore.
- 34:16Speaker 4: Well, do you guys remember back in the day, I
- 34:19Speaker 4: mean before I started my decade of fun, I remember
- 34:22Speaker 4: thinking there was only one flavor of grease, and.
- 34:25Speaker 2: Now I know the intricacies. I am like them for grease.
- 34:28Speaker 2: I swear to God.
- 34:30Speaker 7: I know, yeah, I know. I know where the grease is.
- 34:33Speaker 1: From grease, from a hash, grease, from a rib grease.
- 34:38Speaker 2: I can tell when.
- 34:39Speaker 7: It's hair grease added, you know, and I don't like
- 34:42Speaker 7: when that happens.
- 34:42Speaker 5: We call the Martini shot the grease shot because when
- 34:46Speaker 5: we call rap on each episode, Guy has us dip
- 34:50Speaker 5: something in the grease.
- 34:52Speaker 2: Yeah, he can prove his power over anything.
- 34:55Speaker 3: You can that the fat rue.
- 34:58Speaker 2: He's the boss. But we love him.
- 35:00Speaker 6: We're loyal, love the guy.
- 35:03Speaker 3: I'm so glad he's not dating Gaga anymore.
- 35:05Speaker 2: That was that was really stressful. Well, let's get into
- 35:07Speaker 2: a little bit of the gosh because I don't want
- 35:10Speaker 2: to have Johnny. I know, you get up to stuff
- 35:13Speaker 2: after we wrap you little PASTRAMI boy, what do you
- 35:17Speaker 2: do after wrap?
- 35:18Speaker 5: Yeah, so people should know out of the out of
- 35:22Speaker 5: the crew here and the field producers, I'm the guy
- 35:24Speaker 5: who fucks.
- 35:25Speaker 2: Yeah that's true.
- 35:27Speaker 1: Yeah, with a name like Johnny Pastrami.
- 35:29Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, you fuck it? How do you not?
- 35:32Speaker 5: Usually any town we're in, I could probably find a casino.
- 35:37Speaker 7: What's crazy?
- 35:38Speaker 6: That is not? That is it? You have an uncanny
- 35:41Speaker 6: ability to find even.
- 35:45Speaker 2: Underground.
- 35:46Speaker 9: Those two things related to you. You fucking a lot
- 35:48Speaker 9: and finding casio.
- 35:49Speaker 5: Let me tell you they go and and for me,
- 35:51Speaker 5: remember when I found a casino in Washington.
- 35:53Speaker 2: D C.
- 35:54Speaker 6: Yeah, that was wild. That was like in a senator's house.
- 35:59Speaker 7: And told me, is it yelp?
- 36:01Speaker 3: Oh it's yelp.
- 36:04Speaker 6: Can't believe they put that stuff on yelp.
- 36:06Speaker 1: Those those casinos, those Seattle casinos are illegal for sure.
- 36:11Speaker 4: My question for you, Johnny, because what's funny to me
- 36:14Speaker 4: is you use straight up pickup lines like I don't
- 36:17Speaker 4: see people use pickup lines like you do.
- 36:19Speaker 2: No, he's the king of the pickup line. Throw some
- 36:22Speaker 2: pickup lines down for us, Johnny.
- 36:26Speaker 6: Yah, you're dirty. All right.
- 36:28Speaker 3: So here I am. We're in Washington, d C. I'm
- 36:30Speaker 3: rolling a couple motherfucking dice.
- 36:33Speaker 5: I see a girl in purple, and purple always gets
- 36:37Speaker 5: me horned like a bull.
- 36:40Speaker 3: And I see her and I go, give me a second.
- 36:47Speaker 2: Okay, we're in Washington, d C.
- 36:53Speaker 3: Head of state. Will you give me head?
- 36:55Speaker 7: Damn?
- 36:57Speaker 2: That's good? Is good that?
- 37:01Speaker 6: I tell you?
- 37:01Speaker 1: What? If I were a dame sitting by you as
- 37:04Speaker 1: you were rolling those dice, I would be panties dropping
- 37:08Speaker 1: within seconds?
- 37:12Speaker 7: Will you give me head? I gotta write that down.
- 37:15Speaker 7: I always fumbled.
- 37:18Speaker 2: You always.
- 37:20Speaker 6: He is the best wing man I've ever So.
- 37:24Speaker 1: When when Derek and I broke up, Johnny, it was
- 37:29Speaker 1: pretty brutal divorce. It was rough, Johnny PASTRAMI had me
- 37:34Speaker 1: in the bar, just going for just picking up girls
- 37:41Speaker 1: and boys. And what was some of the lines he
- 37:44Speaker 1: gave you? Uh, he gave me this line. Well, this
- 37:47Speaker 1: is when we were in Tulsa, and I.
- 37:49Speaker 3: Remember I had you memorize it the night before.
- 37:52Speaker 6: Yeah, he gave me a script.
- 37:54Speaker 1: He sent me a script, and I made a little
- 37:58Speaker 1: I made a couple of tweaks, and I sent him
- 38:00Speaker 1: back and then he said, no, it was good as it.
- 38:02Speaker 1: So you sent him back, and so I memorized. You
- 38:04Speaker 1: really got to get in a writer's.
- 38:07Speaker 2: Get your staffed. We got to get your staffed.
- 38:10Speaker 1: Sorry, I just want to punch things up sometimes. But
- 38:12Speaker 1: I know I'm it's not where I'm destined to be.
- 38:15Speaker 1: But I walked up to this guy and I said, Hey,
- 38:19Speaker 1: I know we're in Tulsa, Oklahoma, but I'm pretty okay
- 38:25Speaker 1: with you giving me some head classic and then Johnny
- 38:33Speaker 1: PASTRAMI wrote in uh. He wrote like in the script
- 38:37Speaker 1: it was listed as pause, and then another line that said,
- 38:40Speaker 1: you know, because that's your postal abbreviation. Okay, but I
- 38:45Speaker 1: didn't say that part because I got so flustered, and
- 38:47Speaker 1: it was also because he walked away.
- 38:49Speaker 3: That was when I was taken online classes at uc
- 38:51Speaker 3: B and I learned to.
- 38:52Speaker 5: Justify, and I had to justify why I was doing
- 38:55Speaker 5: this oka joke.
- 38:58Speaker 1: And I laughed when I read the script. There's just
- 39:01Speaker 1: just for the record, I laughed. I liked it as is, But.
- 39:04Speaker 2: Johnny, would you recommend you see the classes? Did you
- 39:06Speaker 2: like it? No?
- 39:07Speaker 3: I didn't get head once, not once?
- 39:13Speaker 2: Not once? No not.
- 39:16Speaker 6: I think you're doing it wrong all right.
- 39:20Speaker 3: I think we're pulling up once. It looks like we're
- 39:22Speaker 3: got so.
- 39:23Speaker 6: Much at a ground lens. You guys don't even know.
- 39:26Speaker 2: Let me tell you something Io West before it closed.
- 39:32Speaker 5: All right, we're pulling up to this. Uh it's fried
- 39:35Speaker 5: chicken slammer.
- 39:37Speaker 2: What are any predictions? This place looksasy?
- 39:42Speaker 7: Is a good bad greasy?
- 39:44Speaker 2: I'll let my tongue decide.
- 39:46Speaker 7: Okay, we're not eating yet. Close your mouth, man, don't
- 39:51Speaker 7: jool in my car.
- 39:52Speaker 1: I'm eating the air around the restaurant.
- 39:54Speaker 2: You gotta taste the air sometimes to taste the food.
- 39:57Speaker 1: I don't want to put a damper on any this,
- 40:00Speaker 1: but when I did the pre interview, I gotta say
- 40:03Speaker 1: that the owner gave me kind of the heapye GBI's
- 40:08Speaker 1: just a real like long pauses between the question being
- 40:13Speaker 1: asked and then him responding. I'd be like, so, what's
- 40:15Speaker 1: your signature dish? Two? Three, four chicken sliders? But he
- 40:22Speaker 1: didn't seem happy about it either, So I just don't
- 40:24Speaker 1: know how this will play.
- 40:25Speaker 3: God, I hate chicken sliders. What a gross meal?
- 40:32Speaker 6: You think it's gross?
- 40:33Speaker 3: I hate it worse than when I go somewhere and
- 40:34Speaker 3: I don't get ahead.
- 40:36Speaker 2: You're showing off again.
- 40:39Speaker 5: Why don't you fucking shove your ass down my john
- 40:42Speaker 5: Johnny did you.
- 40:43Speaker 6: Have one of your car espresso Martini's again?
- 40:47Speaker 3: All right, I gotta get out of here and take
- 40:48Speaker 3: a ship in his restaurant.
- 40:51Speaker 1: All right, Johnny out.
- 40:56Speaker 6: Johnny jumped out the window.
- 41:00Speaker 1: He runs fast.
- 41:01Speaker 2: We'll pick him up. He'll go back. It's that. That's
- 41:04Speaker 2: that Johnny Prestommi classic Martini.
- 41:07Speaker 1: John Oh, you guys. I wouldn't want to be doing
- 41:12Speaker 1: this with anybody else.
- 41:13Speaker 2: What's the third thing we do again? Dining, dives and worried.
- 41:20Speaker 6: About all just going to your memory?
- 41:23Speaker 2: Let me tell you something. I've been losing more memories,
- 41:25Speaker 2: but then I find some memories and I just sit
- 41:28Speaker 2: in it for a while. Could I ask you something fun?
- 41:30Speaker 4: Mary?
- 41:30Speaker 2: Kill diners dives?
- 41:32Speaker 3: Oh?
- 41:33Speaker 2: Good question. You know I'm fucking a dining.
- 41:40Speaker 9: Oh clam, No, diner's drive ins and dives.
- 41:49Speaker 2: Fucking diner Okay, okay, I'm killing a dive.
- 41:55Speaker 6: Okay, you know what.
- 41:57Speaker 1: I married the dive. That's why I got into this business.
- 42:00Speaker 1: I fuck a diner. I kill the drive in.
- 42:04Speaker 5: Sorry, yeah, I killed the drive in because base camp
- 42:07Speaker 5: usually needs to be at the other side walking. Yeah,
- 42:12Speaker 5: I'm fucking a diner because that's where my parents met
- 42:15Speaker 5: and I love diners there.
- 42:19Speaker 1: Yeah, that feels like you would want to marry it,
- 42:21Speaker 1: but you know, to teach their own, and I marry.
- 42:26Speaker 4: I would marry a drive in because I like the
- 42:29Speaker 4: open air. I would fuck a dive because that's quite
- 42:37Speaker 4: a story. And I'd kill a diner because I've already
- 42:41Speaker 4: married a diner before. Oh my ex wife.
- 42:48Speaker 2: Everybody's been divorced at this car, right, I think so, I.
- 42:51Speaker 4: Think the Wow, Well that's when that's when your friendship
- 42:54Speaker 4: really kicks off with guy.
- 42:57Speaker 1: And I'm starting to wonder that is a very weird
- 43:00Speaker 1: coincidence that all of us have been divorced in the
- 43:03Speaker 1: exact moment that Guy Fieri comes into our lives.
- 43:06Speaker 2: That's interesting.
- 43:07Speaker 1: You guys think that's suspicious.
- 43:08Speaker 4: Well, I've been a round guy before, and he meets
- 43:10Speaker 4: people and he goes he's all right, But I can't
- 43:13Speaker 4: wait for him to get divorce.
- 43:15Speaker 2: Who he swoops?
- 43:17Speaker 1: He doesn't even like, he doesn't have any ulterior motive.
- 43:20Speaker 6: Really like, it doesn't.
- 43:21Speaker 4: Seem like, well he is. Why this is my theory.
- 43:25Speaker 4: I've just been thinking about divorces work the hardest, Right,
- 43:29Speaker 4: they don't have anything they're going home to, and they
- 43:31Speaker 4: need something to look forward to.
- 43:32Speaker 2: So I think he kind of swoops.
- 43:34Speaker 1: In and we all it's true, we all work hard.
- 43:37Speaker 4: I mean I've had a decade of fun and it
- 43:38Speaker 4: started after my brutal divorce.
- 43:41Speaker 2: It always does.
- 43:42Speaker 1: You got a bottom out before you can have your decade.
- 43:44Speaker 3: I signed it.
- 43:44Speaker 1: That's when I got on that skiing accident.
- 43:48Speaker 2: That's why you got that divorce, right, And that was
- 43:50Speaker 2: after I thought that was a low blow after Batman
- 43:54Speaker 2: divorced after a ski accident. Batman divorcing you because he
- 43:57Speaker 2: didn't know how to ski.
- 43:58Speaker 6: Yeah, I broke my leg. And then he's like, I
- 44:00Speaker 6: can't look at you the same way anymore.
- 44:02Speaker 3: That man's not a man.
- 44:05Speaker 1: Derek is a piece of shit, But we don't have
- 44:07Speaker 1: to talk about him. I hate giving him oxygen. Okay,
- 44:11Speaker 1: what's your guys's favorite memory ever?
- 44:15Speaker 2: Just in general?
- 44:16Speaker 1: Yes, So it could either be your favorite Dyna driving
- 44:20Speaker 1: a dime, or.
- 44:21Speaker 2: Just in general, I would say one the blueberry pancakes
- 44:28Speaker 2: in Minnesota that we got at Big Titty Marges. Shit,
- 44:35Speaker 2: that was amazing. And then in terms of just general
- 44:38Speaker 2: favorite memory, my mother pushing me on the swing four
- 44:43Speaker 2: years old. I remember it like it was yesterday. It's cold, brisk,
- 44:49Speaker 2: and I was just so happy and so full, so full.
- 44:54Speaker 4: Wow, I'm gonna go with the chicken fried steak sandwich
- 44:58Speaker 4: at Lizzie's Drive in in Reno, Nevada. That was absolutely delicious.
- 45:04Speaker 4: And then I'm going to go ahead and go with.
- 45:07Speaker 2: When my dad took me to SeaWorld when I was seven. Wow.
- 45:13Speaker 11: I didn't know kind of the horrors of the world
- 45:15Speaker 11: or even what would happen at a SeaWorld at that point,
- 45:18Speaker 11: but just the magic of being with my dad before,
- 45:23Speaker 11: you know, before it all went to ship.
- 45:27Speaker 7: It was just really beautiful and and I hate to bring.
- 45:31Speaker 2: It up, but didn't you go this is the first
- 45:33Speaker 2: time that you went to see work? Because the second time,
- 45:36Speaker 2: when you were eleven, he got he got killed. Yeah,
- 45:39Speaker 2: it was the first time.
- 45:41Speaker 1: So I go bacon wrap donut and where's that?
- 45:49Speaker 6: Oh?
- 45:49Speaker 1: That was from Sally's Donuts in Idaho. And sorry to
- 45:57Speaker 1: cut you off, were you saying something your daughter's steps?
- 46:01Speaker 6: Oh, yeah, she took them. It's nice.
- 46:03Speaker 3: I'd have to go mashed potato ice cream in Chatsworth.
- 46:09Speaker 5: And uh, first time I walked into a casino, how
- 46:14Speaker 5: old were you two?
- 46:17Speaker 2: You the casino?
- 46:19Speaker 6: I had lost right in. You got a taste for
- 46:21Speaker 6: this stuff and long legs.
- 46:24Speaker 1: All right, well, all right, well, we gotta pull up
- 46:26Speaker 1: to this restaurant.
- 46:27Speaker 6: We gotta get to work.
- 46:28Speaker 3: Oh this looks like a nice wait. Oh do you see.
- 46:32Speaker 2: A fishing How did he get here? So maybe that
- 46:36Speaker 2: chef on the side of the street wasn't the fisherman?
- 46:38Speaker 3: Turn around?
- 46:39Speaker 2: Turn around, turn around, flavor down.
