- 0:12SPEAKER_00: How are you doing out there, my over 40 world?
- 0:15SPEAKER_00: Um as you can see, those that watching on YouTube or got the video feature, you can see I got some new glasses now.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: I got my new metal glasses in now so I can actually see through my metal glasses.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: Because the last ones I had that down there, I couldn't see in them.
- 0:31SPEAKER_00: So I need to stop hitting them because they're saying stuff in my ear right now.
- 0:35SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna make sure that I actually don't touch them.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: I need to figure out how to finish working them so we get through there.
- 0:42SPEAKER_00: But um the last one I did was eating healthy after 40.
- 0:47SPEAKER_00: And you can see I got a Coke.
- 0:50SPEAKER_00: This is my one Coke for the week, and I did good.
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: I'm doing better.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: I am eating healthy, I'm doing what I said I'm doing.
- 0:58SPEAKER_00: And thank you for all the comments and meal suggestions that I got across Facebook and Instagram.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: I really appreciate it.
- 1:05SPEAKER_00: So um a lot of stuff that I said earlier, I'll look it up on AI, but now I got some real comments from real people that tell me stuff that works.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: Some of the stuff y'all suggest is nasty.
- 1:16SPEAKER_00: I'm not gonna lie.
- 1:17SPEAKER_00: Like I that rice cake, that rice patty, what it is with peanut butter.
- 1:22SPEAKER_00: Um, you say I could add honey.
- 1:24SPEAKER_00: I think I pretty much went overboard on the honey.
- 1:26SPEAKER_00: So I don't think you're supposed to drown it in the honey.
- 1:29SPEAKER_00: I drown it so much that I try to get the taste of the rice cake out of my mouth.
- 1:34SPEAKER_00: And I think that defeats the purpose.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: If you put like uh half a bottle of honey on the rice cake with the peanut butter, you might as well just make a peanut butter and jelly sand with regular white bread at that point.
- 1:45SPEAKER_00: But uh other stuff I'm working on, you know.
- 1:48SPEAKER_00: So the the fish and all the other good ideas, I appreciate that.
- 1:51SPEAKER_00: So um what I would do, I'll make sure I put a list up of what all the foods and stuff they're suggested that they gave me from the last episode so that y'all have the same list and y'all can eat all that nasty, horrible stuff.
- 2:04SPEAKER_00: Try it.
- 2:05SPEAKER_00: Try it at least once.
- 2:06SPEAKER_00: Yeah, try everything at least once, I guess.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: That rice cake, I don't suggest if you don't like rice cakes, don't try it.
- 2:12SPEAKER_00: The rice cake, it did not hit right.
- 2:14SPEAKER_00: It did not hit right.
- 2:15SPEAKER_00: But once I drowned it with honey, took the rice cake taste right out of my mouth.
- 2:21SPEAKER_00: So I am loving my new glass.
- 2:23SPEAKER_00: I keep looking at them, but I need to stop looking at them and get get on with the showcase.
- 2:26SPEAKER_00: I'm getting distracted.
- 2:27SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: So have you ever started a hobby and never finished the hobby?
- 2:35SPEAKER_00: Or you you you say you want to do something?
- 2:38SPEAKER_00: I talked about this before about learning instruments, right?
- 2:41SPEAKER_00: So as I venture into my 40s, I realize that there's a lot of things that I want to do.
- 2:50SPEAKER_00: Basically, because you know, the kids have grown.
- 2:52SPEAKER_00: I don't have to do what they want to do no more.
- 2:54SPEAKER_00: I can live my actual real life that I want to live and enjoy things I like to enjoy.
- 3:00SPEAKER_00: Because I didn't want to go out to a hot football field and sit in the bleachers and burn up.
- 3:06SPEAKER_00: I'd rather play football out in the field, but you can't play football with little kids, you know.
- 3:11SPEAKER_00: Um, track meets, you know, I didn't want to go to track meets and sit out in the hot sun.
- 3:16SPEAKER_00: And don't get me wrong now, I don't want to seem like I'm an ungrateful parent.
- 3:20SPEAKER_00: I I'm glad that my kids kept me busy with their various sports and activities.
- 3:27SPEAKER_00: But sometimes, sometimes, you want to just do what you want to do.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: You know, you you might want to do a hobby, okay?
- 3:34SPEAKER_00: But the downfall about doing hobbies after 40, I realize that I'm not a closer no more, like I used to be when I was younger.
- 3:45SPEAKER_00: You know, I'll start something and then I will finish it.
- 3:49SPEAKER_00: I start another hobby, then I'll finish it.
- 3:52SPEAKER_00: Sometimes the hobby that I start that I still do to this day, I'll be good at and I keep moving forward.
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: Like I start taking pictures back in high school and college, you know.
- 4:04SPEAKER_00: I even went in college and took classes to learn how to be a photographer while I was in college so that I can get better at being a photographer.
- 4:12SPEAKER_00: I put the hobby down for a little bit because, you know, kids cost money and buying camera equipment versus pampers, you know, you got to pick one or other.
- 4:21SPEAKER_00: I couldn't pick both.
- 4:22SPEAKER_00: So, and my kids wasn't that much into photography, especially when they were younger, you know.
- 4:27SPEAKER_00: I'm into taking pictures of them, but you know, they're not trying to take no pictures and stuff like that.
- 4:31SPEAKER_00: But that was one of the hobbies that I could say that to this day I still actually do take pictures and stuff like that.
- 4:38SPEAKER_00: But I'm talking about the hobbies now that I'm trying at the 40.
- 4:42SPEAKER_00: And we we're gonna talk about a couple of them, okay?
- 4:46SPEAKER_00: Um, when I was younger, the first hobby I'm talking about, like I said, when I was younger, I used to draw.
- 4:52SPEAKER_00: I used to draw all the time.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: And I went about three or four weeks ago and got me a drawing book.
- 5:00SPEAKER_00: Matter of fact, I got it right behind me.
- 5:01SPEAKER_00: Let me see.
- 5:02SPEAKER_00: So I went and got a book.
- 5:03SPEAKER_00: Because see, I want to learn how to draw again, right?
- 5:06SPEAKER_00: But now remind you, I got this book.
- 5:10SPEAKER_00: It's autonomy.
- 5:11SPEAKER_00: So okay, I got a naked titty on there.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: I can't show y'all that part, but it's Anatomy, the complete guide for artists, okay?
- 5:17SPEAKER_00: Now, as you can see, the book looked brand new.
- 5:19SPEAKER_00: No turn pages, no nothing.
- 5:22SPEAKER_00: I had this book now for about three months with the little notebook, which you get.
- 5:27SPEAKER_00: You know, I got blank pages in here, which I got a couple of drawings that I did while I was in here.
- 5:32SPEAKER_00: Let me see.
- 5:32SPEAKER_00: I'm looking at them now.
- 5:33SPEAKER_00: I got a couple drawings that I started.
- 5:35SPEAKER_00: See, I got one or two drawings.
- 5:37SPEAKER_00: Oh, that's a little play of white.
- 5:39SPEAKER_00: Y'all probably can't see that, but I got a couple little drawings in here that I started to draw.
- 5:43SPEAKER_00: But the point of this first one I was trying to tell you, I brought me an anatomy book.
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: I brought the sketchbook, I bought the erasers, the pens, everything you need to do to be a sketch artist, you know.
- 5:55SPEAKER_00: I even looked at the YouTube videos.
- 5:57SPEAKER_00: Well, okay, don't let me lie to you.
- 5:59SPEAKER_00: I looked at three YouTube videos, and that's within like maybe a week or two time.
- 6:05SPEAKER_00: I'm saying I'm exaggerating.
- 6:06SPEAKER_00: I say I look at a bunch of YouTube videos.
- 6:08SPEAKER_00: Now I looked at three YouTube videos because, like I said, I really want to get back into actually drawing and drawing more often so that I can actually, you know, be good at.
- 6:19SPEAKER_00: Because once upon a time when I was a little kid, I was coming up, learning how to draw very well.
- 6:25SPEAKER_00: But then I moved on to sports.
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: Like, we know most kids, they pick up something and go to the thing.
- 6:30SPEAKER_00: That reminds me, like I say, remind me like a kid.
- 6:32SPEAKER_00: But I say, you know what?
- 6:34SPEAKER_00: I got time.
- 6:36SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna work on this drawing thing.
- 6:39SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that that that that that didn't work out.
- 6:42SPEAKER_00: I I draw a couple pictures.
- 6:44SPEAKER_00: I I think I draw maybe one picture a month.
- 6:46SPEAKER_00: And that's not like even, you can't even call that a hobby.
- 6:50SPEAKER_00: Drawing one picture a month.
- 6:51SPEAKER_00: I I don't even know what kind of hobby that you can call that.
- 6:54SPEAKER_00: That's more like a uh uh what you call a ring thought, uh passive thought, or whatever you want to label it today.
- 7:00SPEAKER_00: So one of y'all can correct me out there.
- 7:02SPEAKER_00: Tell me what it is, tell me what kind of thought it is.
- 7:04SPEAKER_00: But it's not working out.
- 7:06SPEAKER_00: So that that drawing thing is not working out.
- 7:08SPEAKER_00: Um, but I'm still gonna, I bought all this stuff, okay?
- 7:12SPEAKER_00: And I used to be a finisher.
- 7:15SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna work on it and I'm gonna finish this hobby one day.
- 7:21SPEAKER_00: It might not be this much.
- 7:22SPEAKER_00: I might pick it up later on or something like that.
- 7:24SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna actually take 10 minutes a night in the future.
- 7:30SPEAKER_00: I'm not gonna give y'all no concrete date or time when I'm actually gonna do it, because y'all motherfuckers hold me to every goddamn thing.
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: If I say something, y'all hold me to it.
- 7:38SPEAKER_00: And I appreciate that, holding me accountable, but I wanna be holding accountable to this hobby that I'm trying to actually because eventually I want to go from sketching to actually learning how to do water paints again, and then actually to water paints to all painting.
- 7:52SPEAKER_00: So I got some time, you know.
- 7:54SPEAKER_00: I I hopefully, you know, I'll I'll live for another couple of decades so we can get some time there.
- 7:59SPEAKER_00: I only need maybe three or four years to actually learn how to do it, you know, decent.
- 8:04SPEAKER_00: I don't want to be a professional artist, but decent.
- 8:07SPEAKER_00: Okay, so that's that's the first hobby.
- 8:09SPEAKER_00: So art.
- 8:10SPEAKER_00: Second one, I got another book back here.
- 8:12SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 8:12SPEAKER_00: As you can see, I like to read books.
- 8:14SPEAKER_00: I got a bunch of them back here.
- 8:15SPEAKER_00: Well, oh, you can't see them, okay.
- 8:16SPEAKER_00: But I got a bunch of books back here.
- 8:18SPEAKER_00: No, that's not the book I want.
- 8:19SPEAKER_00: And I drop that.
- 8:20SPEAKER_00: Where is the book?
- 8:20SPEAKER_00: Okay, there's the book.
- 8:22SPEAKER_00: Book up on here.
- 8:23SPEAKER_00: I think we got a couple books I try to not reading, is not a hobby.
- 8:26SPEAKER_00: I stopped.
- 8:27SPEAKER_00: I love to read, so I read a lot.
- 8:29SPEAKER_00: I got a bunch of books.
- 8:30SPEAKER_00: That's probably what I'm trying not to cut into my reading hobby.
- 8:33SPEAKER_00: But I always been fascinated with languages.
- 8:38SPEAKER_00: I have learned a little bit of French to be daily.
- 8:42SPEAKER_00: I learned a little bit of Spanish to be daily, I learned a little bit of German to be daily.
- 8:46SPEAKER_00: So I know at least three languages, somewhat fairly, you know, to get around things.
- 8:51SPEAKER_00: But I told myself, you know three languages, right?
- 8:55SPEAKER_00: Fairly, okay.
- 8:57SPEAKER_00: And when I say fairly, like we go on the scale of one to ten, my scale is about three of how much I know all these languages.
- 9:03SPEAKER_00: So I'm about three or cross-border all these languages.
- 9:06SPEAKER_00: So what I want to do, I would say, you know what?
- 9:08SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna find one language and then pick it and stick to it.
- 9:13SPEAKER_00: And then learn the language fully so I can be a 10 on the scale instead of the three that I'm hovering right now, okay?
- 9:21SPEAKER_00: Because like I say, people be speaking to me sometimes.
- 9:23SPEAKER_00: And I go, it's Spanish.
- 9:25SPEAKER_00: I bought a step-by-step Spanish book, and as you can see, this book right here: no wrinkles, no curls, no sheets and stuff like that.
- 9:32SPEAKER_00: I got zero marks in this book that I should have been studying.
- 9:36SPEAKER_00: I started to listen to some Spanish things because I bought Rosetta Stone.
- 9:41SPEAKER_00: It's on my phone, and they let you know when the last time I opened up is Rosetta Stone.
- 9:48SPEAKER_00: If you get an Apple phone, it always does your update.
- 9:51SPEAKER_00: It grayed out and had the update button on it.
- 9:53SPEAKER_00: And I didn't even know.
- 9:54SPEAKER_00: I didn't even know it had the grayed out updated button on it.
- 9:57SPEAKER_00: So I like, dang, I ain't opened this app in a long while.
- 10:01SPEAKER_00: And that's one of the things that I say, you know, I'm gonna learn this language, and I pick Spanish.
- 10:05SPEAKER_00: Can you know?
- 10:06SPEAKER_00: Most people in America know Spanish.
- 10:08SPEAKER_00: There's a lot of Hispanic people there.
- 10:10SPEAKER_00: You know, if you look at most space, they always got English and Spanish and sign.
- 10:14SPEAKER_00: I really I'm not gonna learn sign because the railing of me are walking to, I have met a couple of deaf people in my life, but I can count on one hand, I mean deaf people I actually met in my life.
- 10:25SPEAKER_00: So I to me, I figured it'd be so useful.
- 10:29SPEAKER_00: And then now we got all these other visual aid tools now that can help me speak to a deaf person.
- 10:34SPEAKER_00: I could just text them back and forth as long as my spelling is correct.
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: Well, I think we should be good.
- 10:39SPEAKER_00: Because most of them, believe it or not, most deaf people smart as crap.
- 10:42SPEAKER_00: So the five I did met, they was freaking Jesus.
- 10:45SPEAKER_00: If they, if you didn't know, they couldn't hear, you'll never know nothing about them.
- 10:49SPEAKER_00: They was that, that's how smart they really were and they conducted themselves.
- 10:53SPEAKER_00: So I figure I'd say, after meeting those five, sh, pretty sure all the rest of them just as smart.
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: I'm just going off assumption, but I'm assuming based off the five goodest good examples that I do have in my mind, all deaf people are smart.
- 11:09SPEAKER_00: And I I should worry about what they know, what I don't know.
- 11:14SPEAKER_00: So that should be a thing.
- 11:15SPEAKER_00: But I say, Hispanic people, I talk to Hispanic people all the time.
- 11:19SPEAKER_00: And I even talk to Hispanic people that don't know Spanish, and I talk to some Spanish to them, they look at me like I'm crazy.
- 11:24SPEAKER_00: I'm saying, I'm I'm trying to learn here.
- 11:25SPEAKER_00: And I've been trying to learn for years.
- 11:27SPEAKER_00: So I thought it'd be one of the hobbies that, you know, that I actually get into the hobby and start it and get through it.
- 11:34SPEAKER_00: Like I said, I watch a video, and that was the video for the book that kind of get me into it.
- 11:40SPEAKER_00: And you know, the Rosetta Stone video, they keep hitting you back and forth.
- 11:43SPEAKER_00: Once you click on it once on Facebook, the Rosetta Stone apps and all the other Spanish app coming in.
- 11:47SPEAKER_00: They even got some AI app that you can talk to in English and Spanish and it'll help you work on your Spanish.
- 11:54SPEAKER_00: I was gonna download it, but I realized it was a commitment for me to pay.
- 11:58SPEAKER_00: I didn't want to pay for another app that I wasn't using.
- 12:01SPEAKER_00: And so a prescription.
- 12:02SPEAKER_00: I'm not gonna pay a monthly prescription or something that I am not using actively.
- 12:07SPEAKER_00: And I've all thinks in my head, I'm not gonna do that.
- 12:09SPEAKER_00: So I did the right thing because right now that app probably in my phone, being like, you need to update and you update it in 12 months while you still got this app on your phone.
- 12:18SPEAKER_00: So um I kind of fixed that problem and went through and just say, you know, I'm gonna buy the book, I'm gonna use my Rosetta stone, and then if I start using it more, like which I should be doing, and go from there.
- 12:30SPEAKER_00: So drawing is one.
- 12:32SPEAKER_00: Just guess drawing.
- 12:33SPEAKER_00: So I guess another hobby, because it's a good hobby, it's a cheap hobby.
- 12:36SPEAKER_00: It's not like my other hobbies that I got, which I'll go in in detail in the end.
- 12:40SPEAKER_00: Well, not in detail, but give you a fast, you know, shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot, shoot things.
- 12:44SPEAKER_00: I'm actually still doing hobbies.
- 12:47SPEAKER_00: But yeah, languages, okay, and still not not working out.
- 12:53SPEAKER_00: It's no language yet that I learned at all.
- 12:57SPEAKER_00: And I'm trying to figure out how long, yeah, I've been trying to learn Spanish for freaking ever.
- 13:03SPEAKER_00: Okay, yeah, forever.
- 13:04SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 13:05SPEAKER_00: Then the last one that I've been trying to pick up.
- 13:09SPEAKER_00: I stated earlier, I read a lot of books.
- 13:11SPEAKER_00: As you can see, I show you right here.
- 13:13SPEAKER_00: These just some of the books I got right here, just sitting on my desk that I've been reading this book.
- 13:19SPEAKER_00: I actually just got finished reading the book because I joined a book club and I didn't know it was a um romantic women's horror book club, but I just read The Devil.
- 13:31SPEAKER_00: I saw The Devil in the Woods, is Wolf Worm by TK Kingfisher.
- 13:36SPEAKER_00: Or King, I probably announced the name wrong, but it's Wolf Worm.
- 13:39SPEAKER_00: It's a good boy.
- 13:40SPEAKER_00: It's T King it's T yeah, T.
- 13:42SPEAKER_00: Kingfisher.
- 13:44SPEAKER_00: That's her name.
- 13:44SPEAKER_00: T.
- 13:45SPEAKER_00: Kingfisher.
- 13:46SPEAKER_00: So well written.
- 13:49SPEAKER_00: Kind of get you, that's why I start reading more of history books and you know, the Born series book, because I like a sighting adventure books, like movies, like something that can get me into the book, get me trained.
- 14:01SPEAKER_00: So, but I just got finished reading the book.
- 14:03SPEAKER_00: But like I said, I do read a lot.
- 14:04SPEAKER_00: I I probably read maybe one to two, no, three books a month.
- 14:10SPEAKER_00: So because I got time and most times, so I try to read a lot.
- 14:14SPEAKER_00: But um from reading a lot, I realized I say, you know what?
- 14:19SPEAKER_00: I can write a book.
- 14:21SPEAKER_00: I I read a lot.
- 14:23SPEAKER_00: It can't be that hard.
- 14:24SPEAKER_00: Um God bless those authors.
- 14:28SPEAKER_00: Um, writing a book is way harder than it looks.
- 14:34SPEAKER_00: And I know what people saying, you I know I can hear streams thing, just use AI to help you.
- 14:38SPEAKER_00: AI cannot help you write a book.
- 14:41SPEAKER_00: Um, you got to have an actual concrete ideal that you can build upon to make that story actually readable that someone wants to read.
- 14:51SPEAKER_00: Okay?
- 14:52SPEAKER_00: But I'm gonna keep working on it because I start on chapter one six months ago.
- 15:02SPEAKER_00: I am still in chapter one of the book.
- 15:06SPEAKER_00: And the premise behind the book, I'm not gonna let it out here because if I ever finish it, I want y'all to steal my ideas and I'm running slow in the book and write my book for me and then get all my credits because I won't be a famous author one day.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: But yeah, it is harder than it looks.
- 15:21SPEAKER_00: It's extremely harder than it looks.
- 15:22SPEAKER_00: So I advise you, if you think about reading the writing the book, it is it's not an easy lift.
- 15:30SPEAKER_00: Make sure you think about it and give yourself time and research.
- 15:34SPEAKER_00: The research.
- 15:34SPEAKER_00: Like I said, I'm doing the research, but it is the time to sit in there to actually do it that I'm not actually engaged in.
- 15:41SPEAKER_00: That's what I'm saying.
- 15:42SPEAKER_00: So those are the three hobbies that I could say that I legitimately start at the 40, that I am Hermics and Fell on, that I need to invest more time in and actually start doing.
- 15:51SPEAKER_00: I even got a reminder in my phone.
- 15:54SPEAKER_00: Do this, work on your book, um, work on your drawings, work on your language.
- 16:02SPEAKER_00: I sit there and hit the reminders and keep going, like it, like it's not even a speed bump no more.
- 16:07SPEAKER_00: It used to be a speed bump.
- 16:08SPEAKER_00: Now it's just like a smooth curve because I just hit the reminders like I did it and just keep rolling.
- 16:12SPEAKER_00: But starting next week, starting the week after next week, I'm gonna go maybe November, November, November time for November for sure.
- 16:23SPEAKER_00: November for sure.
- 16:24SPEAKER_00: I'm gonna start back and do it.
- 16:27SPEAKER_00: But I did say I'm gonna tell you about the hobbies, I do still do now.
- 16:30SPEAKER_00: Um I still love to take pictures and photography.
- 16:36SPEAKER_00: Behind me, let me see, I got like maybe four or five cameras thing.
- 16:41SPEAKER_00: I got cameras, I'm off screen.
- 16:43SPEAKER_00: Give me a second.
- 16:44SPEAKER_00: But I got cameras right here.
- 16:45SPEAKER_00: I love my cameras now.
- 16:46SPEAKER_00: I got I got a bunch of cameras.
- 16:48SPEAKER_00: I keep cameras all over the place because I still love taking pictures and going out in the thing and take pictures.
- 16:55SPEAKER_00: I probably take pictures at least four days out the week.
- 17:00SPEAKER_00: I go take pictures.
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I love filling my pictures and going edit the pictures and stuff like that.
- 17:05SPEAKER_00: So I love taking pictures.
- 17:06SPEAKER_00: So I still do that, right?
- 17:07SPEAKER_00: And I got three motorcycles, four, yeah, four motorcycles in that garage that you know I get in.
- 17:14SPEAKER_00: I love riding my motorcycles.
- 17:16SPEAKER_00: That's that's two hobbies that I could tell you I would never stop doing.
- 17:19SPEAKER_00: I go ride and I take pictures.
- 17:22SPEAKER_00: Those hobbies have been going strong.
- 17:24SPEAKER_00: And that's why I was saying, Kyle, I got really two main hobbies that, well, three reading.
