  [SPEAKER_00]: Your Jacksonville Jaguars, they signed Chris Rodriguez yesterday, obviously brought back Buster Brown, brought back Dennis Gardeck, those were the big moves they've made this week from a additions or retainment standpoint.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They brought back several other players before that smaller contract type guys, but glue players and I do think if there's one position

  [SPEAKER_00]: that I would really like to see the Jaguars add in free agency before the draft, it is to the defensive line.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And so right now we're going to focus on interior defensive linemen.

  [SPEAKER_00]: We'll also do a show focusing on edge rush types that could make sense for the Jaguars.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And I think that there's a healthy list here of actual unrestricted free agents, interior defensive linemen that make sense for the Jags.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There's also one trade I would potentially like to see that I think could make a lot of sense on both sides, for both sides, I don't know that the Jack Wars are going to make a move for a starting caliber player before the draft.

  [SPEAKER_00]: They did that with Chris Rodriguez.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think that he is going to be in a running back by committee with Basial Tutan and then Lee Quint Allen

  [SPEAKER_00]: You're third down, past pro, past down back, basically, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think that Rodriguez is more of your inside.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The tackles runner, two and more of your outside the tackles runner.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Both of them can do a little bit of both of that, but two and more of the speedster.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Rodriguez is more of the power back.

  [SPEAKER_00]: That's putting it a little bit too simply, but too long didn't read that's basically what they are.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Are the Jaguar is going to bring in,

  [SPEAKER_00]: a defensive lineman that maybe not a starter, but at the very least like a high snap count type of guy that could make an impact as a heavy rotational player before the draft, I think that they should.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And that's not because I don't think that they should continue to add in the draft.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I just think when you look at the best defenses, the best teams they have a heavy, heavy rotation of defensive linemen, defensive front players that can all make a big impact from a down-to-down basis.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Violent players, players that really get after it, and I think that there's some guys out there that fit that bill.

  [SPEAKER_00]: on the interior of the defensive line and on the edge.

  [SPEAKER_00]: We're focusing on interior defensive linemen here.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So we'll go ahead and dive into it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If the Jaguars don't add to the defensive front and for agency, I do think that they will be heavily adding to that defensive front and the draft.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Kaleis Campbell.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And this is not just me fanning out being the nostalgia-pilled Colleys Campbell at 39 years old is still playing at an extremely high level and would have been the Jaguar's best interior defender last year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Devon Hamilton, very good nose tackle run stuff for type, just does not give you much as a.

  [SPEAKER_00]: past Russia at all.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Think Eric Armstrong's dead was playing pretty well before his hand injury and he gutted it out and played through that and did his best but was not as very best but I do think hypothetically if you brought in Colleys Campbell and you're talking about on clear past rushing downs.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Eric Armstrong's dead in Colleys Campbell in the middle, Trayvon Walker and

  [SPEAKER_00]: and Josh Heinz Allen on the edge.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You can move guys around too.

  [SPEAKER_00]: You can put Trayb on Walker next to Josh Heinz Allen.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But like that being kind of a base group, I think.

  [SPEAKER_00]: A base group for past rushing downs makes a lot of sense and collets can still absolutely defend the run at an extremely high level.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Air garm stead is still good at defending the run as well, so I think, and obviously Josh Hinds Allen, Trayvon Walker, both great edge shatters, run defenders on the edge.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Look, man, I know people can say exactly what I said earlier, like you're just a nostalgia pill, you're just

  [SPEAKER_00]: wanting to fan out, wanted to see this again.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, those things can be true while at the same time acknowledging Kalei's Campbell would be one of the Jaguar's best players right now, even at 39 years old.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He has been an incredibly efficient, and effective pass-rusher and run defender in the NFL for a very, very long time.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And if he wants to play again in 2026, after starting his career in 2008, having his peak years in Jacksonville, 2017-1819, wow, he was so damn good, and he still is.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And do I think this is like the most likely player that the Jaguars would bring in if they are bringing in a player at all?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe not because what you usually see is connections.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There's usually connective tissue with the players they bring in.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Now, Clay's came well obviously as connective tissue with the Jaguars organization.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he's been here, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: James Gladstone certainly knows him from being on the opposite side a little bit when he was in Arizona, not for super long time.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Matthew or Rujo, the Jag war's defensive past game coordinator was part of the defensive staff in Miami, when Calais Campbell was there in 2024.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So it's not like there's nothing.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There's no connections, but there's a couple guys

  [SPEAKER_00]: one in particular, really, that I think could really fit the bill for the Jaguars from that connection standpoint.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But Kaleis Campbell would be my top option, easily, if he wants to come play some more football for you in 2026.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But next up, it's Sebastian Joseph Day, former Tennessee Titan, he's not just a former

  [SPEAKER_00]: and he was drafted by the Rams in 2019, spent the first three years of his career with the Rams.

  [SPEAKER_00]: James Ladsdone's team, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's 30 years old, gonna be 31.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So while he is a very experienced veteran, doesn't have quite the experience under his belt that Kalei's Campbell does, who does that, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: But still, special Joseph Day, I think, can be a, you know, big app to over tackle, like basically like three tech out to five tech depending on the situation that you're in.

  [SPEAKER_00]: depending on what you're trying to accomplish, and he's been just like a solid.

  [SPEAKER_00]: good player both as a run defender and pass rusher throughout his career has some versatility right.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think that this would be nearly as exciting, personally.

  [SPEAKER_00]: As a Calais gamble, but I do think it's a move that would give the Jaguar as one more rotational piece that does actually bring something to the table that does actually help out a good bit.

  [SPEAKER_00]: and, again, drafted by the Rams.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Another player that has some connections here is Dick Juan Jones, who is 34 years old.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's up there too.

  [SPEAKER_00]: As I'm in play and as long as he's, as, as Clay is, but again, who has?

  [SPEAKER_00]: His career did start in 2014 though, and he played for the Titans for a long time.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Most of his career was with the Titans and he had a year in Carolina and then has been in Buffalo the last four years and Jaguar's defense of line coach Coach Tim and Buffalo in 2024 Dequan Jones is a big boy, but he primarily does play in the big app Which is again usually where you you're getting more pressure type of players and he's been a really good run defender and a really good pass-rusher his whole career

  [SPEAKER_00]: You know, especially over the last six, seven years.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And he's a free agent.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He had a good game against the Jaguars in the wild card round, made some plays in the pass rush department against the Jags.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He could make sense.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Has that connection with the defensive line coach?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Is it good football player?

  [SPEAKER_00]: Can play all three downs?

  [SPEAKER_00]: I like it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I would like that one a good bit.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And then you also have Jonathan Allen, who, I don't know that there's a strong connection between him and anyone that's in Jacksonville right now.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I'm not sure if there is a connection, I'm not aware of it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: However, I just think outside of Kale's Campbell,

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's your best bet as somebody who can actually really make a big difference as a past Russia.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And he might be able to make even bigger differences as a past Russia than Colleys.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he's as consistent necessarily against the run as some of these other guys.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He has 31 years old now.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So funny seeing like he started his career in 2017.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I remember how much I liked him in the draft coming out of Alabama.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's a player.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think absolutely.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I would be all over it.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If he wanted to come down to Jacksonville and I wanted to bring him in.

  [SPEAKER_00]: There's a few, I mean, there's a lot of guys I would be interested in potentially trading for, but there's one in particular that I think could really make sense.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And I don't know if he would be able to buy low at all.

  [SPEAKER_00]: It's more O'Jama, Philadelphia Eagles, defensive Lyman, defensive tackle, primarily a B-Gap Defender.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And the B-Gap is the gap in between the guard and the tackle.

  [SPEAKER_00]: If you didn't know, I loved him coming out of Texas.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I was so high on more O'Jama, and

  [SPEAKER_00]: He was a great run defender at Texas, despite being 292 pounds as a defensive tackle, which you're like, that's a little light, but he's strong, and he has great length.

  [SPEAKER_00]: And you saw flashes of past-rush production at Texas, and now he's 24 years old.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Going into his fourth year in the league, if the Eagles, they just signed Jordan Davis,

  [SPEAKER_00]: Maybe they feel like, well, we could get good value out of Mora O'Jomo.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Right now, the Jack could trade a day to pick form, right?

  [SPEAKER_00]: I think it could make a little sense.

  [SPEAKER_00]: The Eagles could also say, well, we'll let them walk in free agency and get a comp pick form, but the Eagles are usually super active in free agency.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So you never know if that's going to be the road they go down.

  [SPEAKER_00]: But look, he had 54 pressures last year.

  [SPEAKER_00]: On 477 pass rush reps, the year before he had 39 on 342 pass rush reps, he's a good player.

  [SPEAKER_00]: He's a really good young player and I think he could be a foundational piece of front for the Jaguar's defense for a long time, if they want to go down that road.

  [SPEAKER_00]: Knowing that Mora O'Joma was a seventh round pick, knowing that they probably aren't gonna be able to prioritize signing him to a long-term deal following the 2026 season, if they could get a second or a third round pick for a former seventh rounder.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I mean, I feel like that makes sense on both sides.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I'm just such a huge fan of his game.

  [SPEAKER_00]: So definitely somebody I'd be interested in, but I think the Jack Wars have a lot of good options to go pursue if they want to on the defensive line and particularly on the interior of the defensive line.

  [SPEAKER_00]: I would really, really like to see something happen on the defensive line before the NFL draft, but we'll just have to wait and see.
