- 0:00Why my name is. I am so bad at making decisions. I don't
- 0:04know about you, But when it comes to even small little things like you
- 0:08know, for example, a big men you at a restaurant, my brain
- 0:11just spins. I get so anxious about making the wrong decision. So when
- 0:14it comes to big things like naming your child, I can't even imagine,
- 0:19Like do you remember naming your kids? Oh? Yeah? And was it
- 0:21like a stressful thing or you knew the whole time? So it was actually
- 0:25interesting. Nick brought up Sydney right away when we found out we were having
- 0:29a little girl, and it just stuck, like with in days, that's
- 0:34what we knew we were gonna name her. We knew the name, we
- 0:37told people about the name. It wasn't anything. It was like, okay,
- 0:40we got this boy names that took us forever. I mean I remember
- 0:45sitting there. It was in the middle of winter and Nick is like,
- 0:48okay, he wanted to name Briggs Jordy. He's like, ah, JORDI
- 0:52up to bat JORDI, you know, going do I really like Briggs?
- 0:55Random? But well, you just you go through the process, like is
- 0:58JORDI gonna be Jordie or is Jordi is Jordy gonna be a professor? I
- 1:06mean you go through like what you think your kids could be, or their
- 1:10names, through professional life, growing up, all of that, and then
- 1:14you also lose about fifty percent of the names and you're like, I knew
- 1:18a Pike, not a chance in my name and my kids really yeah,
- 1:23I mean you you think about all the names that you go through, and
- 1:26every time Nick be like, oh I kind of like that, I'd be
- 1:30like dated a guy. Nope, that's not the name exactly. But there's
- 1:34such thing as baby naming remores. There's a woman who admitted this, maybe
- 1:38the first person in history to admit it, but she talked about naming her
- 1:41daughter Jade, and she wrote online that she was just going crazy over the
- 1:46whole thing. You know, like you did a man of researching, made
- 1:48list, spent hours and hours, and finally went with Jade. Now the
- 1:52baby is almost one year old and says she's maybe thinking about changing the name.
- 1:57Why she just doesn't just doesn't like the name. And you know,
- 2:01like as they become an actual human being, you know, you start to
- 2:05get their personality and it's like, well, they don't really seem like a
- 2:07jade. It doesn't really make sense. I mean I get that, it's
- 2:10just I never felt that way. No, you don't have any remorse whatsoever,
- 2:15felt the way as of right now. Yeah, I mean they're three
- 2:16and four, so maybe as they get older. I don't know. I
- 2:21always wondered if my mom and dad ever had that Amanda. I don't know
- 2:24why. You think when they realized that four out of five girls born the
- 2:30or you were were also named Amanda, Amanda was so original. I'm so
- 2:34I can imagine this if we do have a kid, ever, that's probably
- 2:37gonna be me, you know, the remorse thing, because even like big
- 2:39things like when we bought a house. I remember, you know, you
- 2:43got the exciting process of like going to sea houses or whatever, and I
- 2:46was so anxious of like deciding, and we finally got the one and we
- 2:50moved in, and I remember, like the first day, sit there on
- 2:52the couch and be like, what are we doing? We should have gone
- 2:53with the one over there, you know what? Absolutely, but I feel
- 2:58like your kids though, that just seems you just you've talked about it for
- 3:01long enough. I guess. Unless some people have like lists of baby names,
- 3:06whether or like one or two, and then when they the baby comes
- 3:09out, it's like, Okay, you look like this or this works.
- 3:14Have you seen the there's like a baby name Tinder. I've seen a friend
- 3:17of the friend of mine app. Basically, you just get on this app
- 3:21like you would Tinder, and it starts showing you baby names and you swipe
- 3:24right if you're okay, or if you like it, or you swipe the
- 3:28other way if you don't like it, and so it just is your husband
- 3:30on the other side. And then when it matches, it ding, we've
- 3:34got a baby present. That's exactly it. You both have the app,
- 3:38so you find out which ones that you both like, and it keeps track
- 3:40of them and it gives you random ideas so you don't have to do all
- 3:43the research yourself. Brilliance. If you ask me, have you guys talked
- 3:46about baby names, like do you have names? Yeah? Yeah, I
- 3:47think we got one in the in the pocket. Is it a boy girl
- 3:51name or it is a boy girl name? I think really? And it's
- 3:54amazing because it's a named after a famous rock star. The fact that Lauren's
- 3:59on board that it has nothing to do with the fact that it's a rock
- 4:00star name. It's just that she likes the name. Are you willing to
- 4:03share it? I will not, Amanda, because it's so good and there's
- 4:06only one of these people in the world as far as I know, really,
- 4:10and if I say it out loud, we're gonna have all of a
- 4:13sudden, one hundred of these running around before we can even get you.
- 4:16It's it, Prince, Yeah, Amanda, it's Prince okay for print.
- 4:19Don't be ridiculous like it, Amanda in the morning, Big ninety eight point
- 4:24seven. Let's do it, Okay, it's time for is it weird?
- 4:29Little game we play to find out if the things you do in your private
- 4:31time you're alone time, if you're the only one doing it, or if
- 4:34everyone is. I'm breaking all the rules today, Pike, because this is
- 4:39a public situation. Well there are no rules, Amanda for is it weird?
- 4:43So go ahead. So this morning, just hanging out in the studio,
- 4:46and this happens often, I sneeze, uh huh, and I'm like,
- 4:49oh, excuse me, Like because I'm saying something. Because you two
- 4:54intern Gracie and Pike, just don't acknowledge it. You don't say God bless
- 4:58you or bless you for that matter? What? Why is this a surprise
- 5:02to you? Ah? Don't you remember? It drives you crazy that people
- 5:06don't say bless you? Yes, and what am I? What am I
- 5:11exactly blessing? So I don't and am I It's just it's good manners.
- 5:15I don't believe it to be good manners and man In fact, when I
- 5:18came back here and we started the show back in May, I believe one
- 5:21of the first things I said to you, I think you probably sneezed the
- 5:24first day I was here. I said, oh yeah, by the way,
- 5:27overall, I'm about the same guys when I left. But one thing
- 5:29I have changed is I've stopped saying bless you to people who sneeze. It's
- 5:33weird. I just read one thing one time and it made perfect sense.
- 5:36I'm like, why why is that a thing? And it will always be
- 5:39a thing until people like me, you know, trailblazers you might call that.
- 5:43Gosh, yeah, stop saying bless you. It's just a waste of
- 5:45words. It doesn't mean anything. You didn't you didn't almost die, despite
- 5:48what you believe. I get if I've sneezed three or four times, because
- 5:51sometimes they come in threes or fours. You only need to do it once.
- 5:56But the fact I was, I sneezed. It was a solid sneeze,
- 5:59and y'all just ignored the situation. That's weird. The best I can
- 6:04do is if you're like, coughing weird, I'll give you a you good,
- 6:09you know, like that, because that's actually concerning. You might be
- 6:12talking over the girl. Let's do it. Sneezing borderline feels good, not
- 6:17if you've had babies. What the heck does that? Just let it be.
- 6:23No, you can't just say something like that. I know, I
- 6:26know what she means. A sneeze in your pee? Is that right?
- 6:31Did you pee? I didn't know, but it's like it's like, oh
- 6:34boy, oh boy, And then you just that's better than the things I
- 6:38was imagining. Also, what's coming out, just so you know, not
- 6:42weird it happens. Well, I don't think it's weird to not say thank
- 6:44you in fact or bless you in fact. I think that should be the
- 6:46new norm. So okay, you trailblazer, you thank you paving the way
- 6:50for future generations. Yeah no, because my son who's three, it's the
- 6:56cutest every time I see you, bless you mama. No, yeah,
- 7:00he's too young to know. No, he's got good manners, Pike.
- 7:02All right, amana. Is it weird that when I can't sleep at night,
- 7:06I go to the couch and sleep on the couch, and I find
- 7:09it easier to sleep on the couch than in bed with my wife? Yeah,
- 7:14there is she a big snore. No, No, it's just,
- 7:16uh, for some reason, mentally couch. Mentally, it's easier for me
- 7:20to fall asleep when I'm not in that, well, the bedroom, because
- 7:26there's so much pressure in there, you know, you get in bed,
- 7:29it's like, all right, I don't know what kind of pressure a bedroom.
- 7:32Anxiety is a real thing, Okay, And when it comes to sleep,
- 7:40you're walking there on the pressure it is. I'm not even kidding.
- 7:44When we're winding down at night and I know and I'm looking at the clock,
- 7:46I'm like, I start sweating. I'm like, it's about time to
- 7:48go in bed? Is she like, Pike? No, no, no,
- 7:51no, no, it's not even that, got it not. It
- 7:55has nothing to do with her. I mean, she's in there, so
- 7:57of course he's part of the equation. But for some reason, when I
- 8:00lay down in bed. It's like, okay, now it's time. This
- 8:01is the time you go to sleep, and for whatever reason, I can't.
- 8:05I'm I could sleep anywhere else. That's why I go to the couch
- 8:07because the couch doesn't give me that pressure. The couch it's a fall asleep
- 8:13on the couch and then you're zoinked, just zinked out. And then you
- 8:16go to your bed and it's like that walk sometimes makes you up. I
- 8:20get that point, but the fact that you are in bed and can't sleep
- 8:24is weird. I don't know if there's a cure for bedroom anxiety. Well
- 8:28I'm just saying, next time you judge me for not saying bless, you
- 8:31understand what I'm going through. Okay, I don't know if there's therapy for
- 8:35this. Do you have one of those like sound machine things. I think
- 8:39that would help where they talk to you. It's a fan but you know
- 8:43no, but there's somebody who's talking to you like you. Here's somebody to
- 8:46go to the bedroom, lay down to bedtime stories. I've tried everything.
- 8:54I'm sorry you listen to bedtime stories like what last night? There was a
- 8:58man describing a winter he was doing something in the snow. A man.
- 9:03Maybe you need a woman. I tried a woman too. She was just
- 9:05the other night describing a Thanksgiving dinner to me in a whist soft spray voice.
- 9:09So that didn't work either. So are you being serious? One hundred
- 9:11percent? These are all really? Why? Yeah? Thanksgiving dinner? Because
- 9:13I have so many questions because Amanda, it's interesting, but not so interesting
- 9:20that I need to stay awake to hear how it ends, really, because
- 9:22I would just be starving, like, oh, she put the mashed potatoes
- 9:26with the stuffing and the gravy. I jump out of bed and want to
- 9:30eat. Okay, Well, you don't suffer from bedroom anxiety. I get
- 9:33Amanda in the morning. Did ninety point seven? Did you ready? Ready?
- 9:37That's he is piping hot today. I now, Amanda stills, let's
- 9:43see what's see with it? So Will Smith shared his reaction finally about all
- 9:48these details revealed in Jada Pinkett Smith's new book. Now here's his quote.
- 9:54You break it down for me. If you think he's onto something, okay,
- 9:58he said, The book, I know, woke him up a bit.
- 10:01I thought he's got some here. He's about to divulge a lot Yeah.
- 10:05Then he goes on to say that he also feels that she is more
- 10:09resilient, clever, and compassionate than he'd understood. When you've been with someone
- 10:13for more than half your life, a sort of emotional blindness set sin,
- 10:18and you can all too easily lose your sensitivity. So they're hidden nuances and
- 10:22their subtle beauties. Did AI write that that means nothing to me? I'm
- 10:28so confused by it. I know it's just a bunch of nice sounding words.
- 10:33Honestly, that is just really no response other than it woke you up
- 10:37a little bit. You realize that she is a good person, but you're
- 10:41not really sure yet. You're she's resilient. Huh, Yeah, I think
- 10:45he's still in love with her. And the fact that he didn't acknowledge what
- 10:48she said over the weekend. Did you hear her quote about him getting old?
- 10:52Oh? So this is what I couldn't believe it. I thought the
- 10:54headline was faked, but apparently she was talking about whether or not they would
- 10:58ever live together again, and she said, and I think eventually we will.
- 11:01Will's getting old. I'm staying quite young, but it's getting apparent to
- 11:07me that he's gonna need someone to take care of him, and so she'll
- 11:09move in when that time comes. What is the age differctor, She is
- 11:13two and a half years younger than Will. He's fifty five, she's fifty
- 11:16two and least a check. It's crazy, and I feel like he's totally
- 11:20He looks great, I know, compared to if you took a bunch of
- 11:22fifty five year olds and lined them up and Will Smith was one of them,
- 11:26I'd be like, well, that guy's killing him. I think it
- 11:28has more to do with the prenup situation because they never signed one back in
- 11:31nineteen ninety seven. Yeah, so I don't think that they will ever get
- 11:33a divorce because of that, because they said we're not getting one. I
- 11:39just do not like her. It's like, oh, Jada, Gwyneth Paltrow,
- 11:43a few of these celebrities need to just like, go go somewhere,
- 11:46but not go do you a little red tabletop, turn the cameras off and
- 11:52just let her in. Oh Man and Michelle Williams. She is going to
- 11:56be voiceing the audio version of Britney Spears book titled The Woman and Me.
- 12:00Brittany said the book has been a labor of love. Reliving everything has been
- 12:03exciting, heart wrenching and emotional, to say the least, for those reasons.
- 12:07I'm only going to be reading a small part of the audio book.
- 12:09I am so grateful that Michelle Williams is going to be reading the rest.
- 12:13Michelle Williams, is that the one from She's Dawson's Creek? Or is she
- 12:18from Destiny's Child? Or both? That he is going to be from Dawson's
- 12:22Creek? So that's Heath Ledgers x AH. Is that now, who is
- 12:26Insie's Child? You're thinking, oh, that's a good question. Well,
- 12:31I can't think of who that is. But Paris Hilton by the way,
- 12:33saying she's proud of Britney Spears and her ex Sam says that he already got
- 12:37his hands on a copy. He read the book. He's also very proud
- 12:41of her. She put in a lot of work, he says, I'm
- 12:43excited. It's a really tough one, but I'm going to be the first
- 12:45one in line to buy it. I did already put my order in,
- 12:48but I did the audio version, did you really? Because I'm hoping then
- 12:52I can listen to the whole book in one day. It'll be out next
- 12:54week. I did disconfirm, by the way, Michelle Williams was in Destiny's
- 12:58Child, two of them. Yeah, so it's a fair. It was
- 13:01fair. That was a very fair EVERYBODI idiot, take it back, It
- 13:05take it back, all right. Taylor Swift isn't just dominated the headlines with
- 13:11her romance with Travis Kelce, which we'll dive into here in a second.
- 13:13But in turn, Gracie went to see the movie twice over the weekend,
- 13:18and we're getting some of these numbers. Ninety five to ninety seven million dollars
- 13:22is what this movie brought in over the weekend. And seeing people's pic pictures
- 13:24all over social media. Grazy. Now we knew you were going on Friday
- 13:28night? Why did you go again? O? My mom couldn't go with
- 13:31me on Friday night, so you know I had to take her on Sunday.
- 13:35Okay, that's very sweet. That was about to go in on how
- 13:37annoying that was. I bought her ticket for her, I bought popcorn everything
- 13:41for her. I picked her up. Did you, by the way,
- 13:45I, did you have to buy another popcorn bowl? Or did you bring
- 13:48the same one back? Well? They weren't gonna let me bring the same
- 13:50one back, but I did, and then they filled up for me.
- 13:54Oh oh yet cha really? Oh wow? And now this is the same
- 13:56popcorn tin that was not ten We decided Manda, they're actually plastic taps.
- 14:01Yeah, which doesn't make a lot of sense. They said they only had
- 14:03a limited like out. That's why I went on Thursday. There was still
- 14:07a ton yesterday at the house because people are realizing it's ridiculous because how much
- 14:11was your tin? Well, you know, for both of them. I
- 14:15paid about thirty dollars not popcorn, no, no, not each like total
- 14:20for the for the cop and they can't okay, now, no wonder,
- 14:24they're no wonder. There's so much money being made by I know I have
- 14:26am end to the pictures in some time. What are they charge them for
- 14:30popcorn? Now? And I don't even want to know what the tin with
- 14:33the popcorn would cost. Popcorn is about ten bucks for a large all right,
- 14:37I mean that's worth it that movie theater. Popcorn is something. But
- 14:41Taylor Swift, she is out and about with her new romance. Her and
- 14:45Travis were everywhere over the weekend, so Thursday night, everywhere, not here.
- 14:50They were out Thursday in Kansas City. Friday they hung out in Kansas
- 14:54City. Saturday they flew to New York. They ended up making a surprise
- 14:58appearance at Saturday Night Live. Tylor did a little intro for her friend Ice
- 15:01Spice, and then at the end of an NFL bit that they were making
- 15:05fun of Taylor, Travis Kelsey popped up, we are going to speak with
- 15:09someone who actually wants to talk football. Yeah, and people went crazy.
- 15:16Afterwards, they went to an SNL party, everybody said they were kissing,
- 15:20kind of holding hands. Ham out yet again. Video of him leaving her
- 15:26apartment Sunday morning. Yeah, because then he went to the game to see
- 15:31his brother to the Eagles game. She did not go, which I like.
- 15:35I like that she skipped that just for the fanfare of it, like,
- 15:37let him go do his brow thing. And then they ended up going
- 15:41to dinner last night. So I'm assuming he's going to head back to Kansas
- 15:43City and probably leaving her right now. Some football this week. But I
- 15:48love everything about this. They genuinely look happy they do. It's so cute.
- 15:52The handholding was I felt something seeing that, So yeah, man,
- 15:56I'm happy for him. Amanda. I just can't imagine if they break up,
- 16:00the world is gonna go wild. Amanda in the Morning on Sage the
- 16:07Dogs. I hear people talk about love languages. I know there's like a
- 16:11book about love languages, Five Love Languages, And I know you've read the
- 16:15book, right, yep? Okay, So a lot of times people do
- 16:18pre marriage counseling or it's just good to know what fills your cup or what
- 16:22fills other people's cups. To me, it's all kind of nonsense. It's
- 16:26really not though. Oh it's not a minute. No, I think you
- 16:29and Lauren should read the Five Love Languages. Well, you know mine,
- 16:33acts of service? Sure? Did you know words of affirmation? Big?
- 16:38Oh? I love being affirmed with words. Also, you know I had
- 16:42to throw physical touch in there because that's fine. Tell you know what I
- 16:47didn't know, though, is that pets also have love languages. Did you
- 16:49know that as a new dog owner you gotta be aware of what your little
- 16:55dog was it? Lula? Yeah, I mean I'm not a new dog
- 16:57owner A cup for okay, my whole life. Calling me out on a
- 17:02technicality, she's, well, you act like I just got one day randomly
- 17:07is like USh a little dog would be nice. No, you have a
- 17:10new dog. You are the owner of a new dog. Let's just say
- 17:12that. Okay, good? Correct? Yes? And do you know what
- 17:15Lula's love language is? Is it physical touch? Is it time? What's
- 17:19the time? One? Quality time? She does enjoy quality time? Okay?
- 17:26Not sure on her acts of service, picking up her pooh, things
- 17:32of that nature. I would say physical touch is her thing. She loves
- 17:34her belly to be scratched. No, I guess I haven't really had this
- 17:38one on one conversation with her yet. I suggest sitting down and having that
- 17:41discussion. Because there's been a survey down two thousand dog and cat owners.
- 17:45Fifty percent of them admit that physical touch is the primary love language for their
- 17:51furry companions. And they say that the best physical touch includes petting obviously,
- 17:56yeah, for sure, hugging Another sixty two percent and say hugging, and
- 18:00then even fifty five percent say kissing. Is there dog or cats preferred physical
- 18:07touch not licking because wicking was a smaller percentage, but I'm I'm sure it's
- 18:11still registered on this survey. This is interesting. Well, you know you
- 18:15got to be on the same page. How is everything going with that.
- 18:18I know the last time we talked, you weren't sleeping very well. Dog
- 18:21was keeping you up at night really good. Last night, slept all through
- 18:23the night, went to bed about eight, eight thirty. Yeah, and
- 18:26when I left at four thirty, she was still just zonked out. Really
- 18:30yeah. I didn't need to go out in the middle of the night.
- 18:32I'm taking that as a success for a two month old puppy. Is that
- 18:34two months old? Well, in human years, that's like, you know,
- 18:37you got like a six year old pretty much. Pretty much. She's
- 18:42getting big already. Now, she's doing good. We're going through the training
- 18:45process. A couple of little accidents here and there, but accidents happened.
- 18:48That's that's to be expected. Yeah, not okay, but overall good good.
- 18:52Yeah, the other night up quite a bit, but it's gonna hit
- 18:56or miss. I think things will only get better for you if you do
- 18:57take my advice here and have that conversation. Yeah, is there a thing
- 19:02I need to do? Is there a book that we can know? They
- 19:04just say it's a preferred situation if the owner and the dog have the same
- 19:08love language. So your love language again, is what AXO service? You
- 19:14read the whole book. You didn't know. No, I don't remember what
- 19:17mine are. It was in a different relationship. Oh so it just depends
- 19:19on this and I need to go through this. So we will do it
- 19:22as like a family exercise, maybe on a snow dave this winter, and
- 19:26see when everybody is I suppose when it comes to a physical touch, it's
- 19:30like, well, it just sort of depends who's who's doing the touch,
- 19:37Like get a man in the morning on Big Nutty eight point. Everybody's dying
- 19:41to know. Get it? I get it, I get it. How
- 19:44did the big ten year anniversary show go for my band? Low standards?
- 19:48I mean, I know you've been dying tonight. Thank you for bringing it
- 19:52up. You guys wouldn't believe this because I know you all heard Amanda for
- 19:55weeks and weeks going, oh my god, I'm trying to get a babysitter.
- 19:57We want to be there, we want to be there. We Saturday
- 20:00night, I look out in the crowd and there's intern Gracie working the merch
- 20:03table like a nice lady. Yeah, here's You're wearing a Jonas Brothers shirt
- 20:07today standard shirt. It's a rooky mistake. I've never been to a low
- 20:12standard show. So you know I didn't impact you at all, didn't leave
- 20:15you with the tingles, No, it really did. It was you left
- 20:19halfway through. You must have the tingles so bad that you had to go
- 20:22home, to go home and sleep it off. Yeah, yeah, well
- 20:25you missed the best part. I'm telling you that, man. I mean,
- 20:27Fargar Brewing Company was the place to be, Amanda. I apologize to
- 20:32listen. I get things happened, but it just I knew from the beginning
- 20:34you weren't going to be there, So why do you have to try to
- 20:37fluff me up like that. I wasn't. We We tried our hardest and
- 20:40babies that are fell through three of them did it was Yeah, it was.
- 20:45It was touch and go. We were ready to go. And then
- 20:47another other babies that are dropped is well, Amanda, you'll be happy to
- 20:52hear the show went on went great. I mean the VIP experience that we
- 20:56were giving away all of last week, well that was really the highlight for
- 20:59so many people. I mean, the phones were off the hook last week
- 21:02for people getting it. I did see you did get some posters printed and
- 21:06real autographs. Yep. Commemorative posters signed by the band, and we lined
- 21:11it up. We had a whole line of people waiting to meet the boys
- 21:12of Low Standards, and I will admit it was pretty hilarious because as I
- 21:18sat there staring at a long line of people who were just waiting to get
- 21:22a photo with us, I'm like, what are they thinking right now?
- 21:25What sounded like they were excited? Oh? They were. It was really
- 21:26cool, got some good photos. The show was great. I mean to
- 21:30be able to play all of our original songs that you know, we spent
- 21:33so much energy and time. You played your originals. Oh yeah, people
- 21:37love to hear originals from a cover band. Yeah, just like this week.
- 21:41And when you go see Blink one eighty two, you'd love to hear
- 21:44their new album that you've never even heard their songs. Actually I would amand
- 21:47it now way horrible. Compares a nice try though. But then the cover
- 21:51set went great. I will tell you the ending of the night though,
- 21:52because you know, we played a lot of shows that like The Pickled Parrot
- 21:56in just places that people really like to let loose. And there's listen,
- 21:59a lot of marriages and relationships have come from people meeting at Low Standard shows.
- 22:03I mean, it's an intimate experience, but sometimes they get so intimate
- 22:07that you pee your pants, and that was the case Saturday night for one
- 22:11person in the Was there a problem with the bathrooms. No, they had
- 22:15adequate restrooms. There weren't lines like going to the Pink concert at the Fargod
- 22:19Home. I mean you might have had to wait for onetcha. But at
- 22:23the end of the night there was a large puddle in the middle of the
- 22:26dance flor everybody emptied the room, large puddle that was undeniably urine. Now
- 22:32you're like, okay, maybe some still in the dance floor area. Oh,
- 22:37I was going to say, if it was in the meet and great
- 22:37line where you were taking pictures. Perhaps people just got so excited because they
- 22:41were standing by Bobby the lead singer, Oh my god, or Biked or
- 22:48Luke or the drummer Scott. I mean he's a fan favorite. Okay,
- 22:52all right, No, it was Are you serious? Somebody actually didn't I'm
- 22:55I'm not kidding like you said earlier. Probably they just don't want to leave
- 22:57and lose their spot in the crowd, which was you know, well with
- 23:00all of those bangers. I mean, it's just hit after a hit,
- 23:03hit right, you know, you know, Grace, you know the feeling
- 23:07you go to shows and you get there how many hours early, just so
- 23:08you can get that spot, that premiere real estate up by the stage.
- 23:12You know. The first question I asked Pike when I saw him on at
- 23:15the show, I said, do you think I'm gonna be able to get
- 23:18front row with all these people here? Oh gosh, well, it sounds
- 23:21like you should have at the merch table, had some depends that people gonna
- 23:23use they went to the Taylor show because, holy smoke, I saw some
- 23:29depends in the crowd. You get off of that dance floor. You can
- 23:32tell when they're a little fluffy in the jeans, like, oh yeah,
- 23:34they've got an adult they've got an adult diaper on. What are you looking
- 23:38at? You should have been there, your ba I just want to take
- 23:44a minute to apologize. No listen from the bottom of my heart. I
- 23:47just want to thank everybody, but Amanda, your support means the world.
- 23:51Do us, Gracie, did you steal me a merch an e merchant?
- 23:53No, you weren't there working. If I see you wearing an LS sweatshirt,
- 23:56you didn't pay for you you're going to prison. I will, I
- 24:00will call the cops on. You have brainwashed this girl already after one show.
- 24:03This is much amazing what a well ridden ditty will do to a person,
- 24:07just like a man in the morning. Come on, get up on
- 24:11big, it's got a man you prefer when it comes to a long term
- 24:18relationship versus a short term fling. You know what I mean, because there's
- 24:22a study that's been done by a professor at the University of Arkansas. Oh
- 24:27God, what I prefer in a fling? And I thought, right when
- 24:32I read that, I'm like, professor, of course, what are you
- 24:36doing a fun study to put on? Were you the subject? But no,
- 24:41it was. It was more or less a survey of women. And
- 24:44it turns out that women prefer flings with muscular men. But when it comes
- 24:48to marriage, they didn't care so much. They preferred for the long term
- 24:52relationship. It didn't matter at all. In fact, they just wanted a
- 24:55life partner that fit their needs in other ways. Is it true, Amanda?
- 24:59I mean you've a Oh we all have a past, you know,
- 25:03we all went to court college. Yeah, so do you have I mean,
- 25:07would you say that's your preference as well. My preferences have been all
- 25:11over the board. If you were to look at my track record, Pike,
- 25:14if it was pretty line man because but it's all over there. But
- 25:21if you came into work one day and there was a piece of paper in
- 25:23your mailbox, what is this you just see? There's no description? Is
- 25:29there's a bunch of faces. Yeah, let's let's just hone in here and
- 25:33narrow it down. Let's just say I had an ex husband and I have
- 25:37a yes, so they could not be more opposite of anything, Like,
- 25:41they're just totally different. Let's go as shallow as possible here. Though.
- 25:45Physically, I mean it's a you know, good shape. I mean yeah,
- 25:48probably not Iowa State day condition that way. Yeah, exactly no.
- 25:53But he's uh, he cares what he looks like. Looks great in his
- 25:57suit. Yeah, it looks good in his suit and his swim trunks.
- 26:03I mean, I get the logic though, I compared to rent in a
- 26:07vehicle, if I'm gonna rent a vehicle for one night, let's say just
- 26:10a one night only the Lamborghinia, you might as well splurge a little bit,
- 26:15you know, because you don't have to long term deal with the maintenance
- 26:18of it, the high insurance costs, the storage, and the winner.
- 26:22I mean this just none of that's worth it. So what you're saying,
- 26:23Pike is when you're looking on the other side of things, you're going full
- 26:26minivan because you have kids, well something practical and a lot of baggage.
- 26:30No, I don't know what. And again this is not this is more
- 26:33for women because you know I married a Lamborghini, Amanda, I did it.
- 26:38Did I'm not comparing my wife to a twenty eleven Nissan Ultima. I'm
- 26:42just with hundred seven thousand miles, right, No, that's the logic.
- 26:45I think I picking up what you're putting down. And I also just think
- 26:49you get comfortable with somebody that you the longer with somebody, you get comfortable.
- 26:55And I'm not saying like, oh, you let yourself go. But
- 26:57after you are comfortable and you have kids and you're just in a life together,
- 27:02you've fallen in love on a different layer. Absolutely life partners now.
- 27:06But it's great though, you know you're done with that superficial Like for example,
- 27:08after our show, did I tell you we had a big ten year
- 27:11anniversary show Saturday? I heard all about it. Oh, the reviews are
- 27:15in and I heard it was a rager. So we went downtown afterward because
- 27:18it was the closest thing, and we went to sports bar on a Saturday
- 27:22night during the school year. What you got, no bit? I mean,
- 27:26it's so packed. That's like a bunch of young single people looking for
- 27:30their one night rental, you know what I mean? Like, what am
- 27:33I doing here? What are you doing? That? Was that was your
- 27:36Lamborghini in toe? My wife? Yeah? She was? He was okay
- 27:41good. I was just it's so funny you say that because the last time
- 27:44I was downtown and this is when you start feeling old, and uh,
- 27:48I am no Lamborghini model. We were doing a pup crawl don't sell yourself
- 27:52shortly. And I'm sitting at the bar we're broadcasting, and this girl walks
- 27:56in that we know, and she goes, oh my gosh, what are
- 28:00you doing here? I just appalled with the fact that I would be out
- 28:04let alone in that bar. You should be at home in a ninety and
- 28:08a night gap. Old Lady's like it, Amanda in the morning, Big
- 28:12ninety eight point seven trending. Now here's what you need to know, really,
- 28:19heart breaking news yesterday, You guys, we lost a legend, Suzanne
- 28:22Summers. She passed away now. She had an aggressive form of breast cancer.
- 28:26She was only seventy six years old. Today actually would have been her
- 28:30seventy seventh birthday. She had her loved ones by her side. But as
- 28:33yep, that's sad, but what a life. And I'm not claiming to
- 28:36be a expert Suzanne Summer's guy, but you know what I mean, like
- 28:40anybody who gets to be that famous and that rich, like there's a lot
- 28:42of ways life can go, Amanda, and that's one of the good ways.
- 28:45I would. And she aged so well when you saw pictures of her
- 28:48even recently, you're like, my gosh, I know, still just a
- 28:52beautiful lady. So just bad. That makes it more said, not saying
- 28:57that, well, it sounds like you're suggesting it. Well, we probably
- 29:02wouldn't even be talking about it. She's up on the TV right now.
- 29:04She's gorgeous. Absolutely, Okay, all right, I wouldn't be so sad
- 29:10had she stop. Not No, No, it's very sad either way,
- 29:14all right. A seventy six year old man finally fesced up to snatch in
- 29:17the Ruby red slippers that Dorothy wore in the Wizard of Oz. Remember this
- 29:21happened back in the museum in two thousand and five and Grand Rapids, Minnesota.
- 29:25Yeah, Judy Garland nocal legend. So Terry John Martin pleaded guilty in
- 29:30a federal court into luth. He confessed to using a hammer to smash Harry
- 29:33John Martin. Are we sure he hadn't killed any presidents? To the Free
- 29:38Name Bandit can't trust these guys as far as he can throw him. Terry
- 29:45John Martin said he smashed it with a hammer. Might not reopen the Kennedy
- 29:49case. Stop it grabbed those slippers, got him home, and you know
- 29:56what happened. He realized there's no real rubies on the slippers. Well he
- 30:00thought they were just covered in gems. Yeah, so he knew he couldn't
- 30:03sell them, so he got rid of them. The FBI did not recover
- 30:06the shoes until that sting operation in Minneapolis in twenty eighteen. He's not gonna
- 30:11spend any time behind bars because of his poor health. He appeared in court
- 30:14in a wheelchair. He was connected to oxygen. He's got a pulmonary disease.
- 30:18Just sad struggling and breathing. That's just I know. He should just
- 30:22be on house arrest and have to wash Wizard of Oz over and over.
- 30:29That would be absolute torture. And Julia Louis Dreyfuss, guess what. She
- 30:33has no idea what's going on. Jerry Seinfeld was that about a week ago
- 30:38and made a huge accusation or an accusation. He accused that Terry John Guy
- 30:45of killing a president but a nut. He made a claim that there was
- 30:49something big coming with Seinfeld, something to do with me. The last episode,
- 30:53Yes, him and Larry David had been talking about it all in the
- 30:56works, all of this and news to Julie. Yeah, she said,
- 31:00yeah, I saw that last night and I don't know what the hell he's
- 31:02talking about. Well that that's a bummer, because whatever it is, if
- 31:04she has and of course he was a lane, she's not part of it,
- 31:08then what are we doing? Ye're not You're not doing it. It's
- 31:11not gonna work without her. And I don't even watch Seinfeld then I know
- 31:15that much. It's gonna be something Stu, and it's gonna be like a
- 31:18a lunchbox or something I'm trying to give me a lunchbox. Do I need
- 31:23to elaborate the Manda. Do you mean they're going to create a lunchbox which
- 31:27I'm imagining like when you were a kid, and like the Casper movie came
- 31:30out. I remember they had a custom Casper lunchbox that you could purchase with
- 31:37the matching water bottle. Yeah, I think we're brown bagging it these days,
- 31:41Pike. I'm big in that but Seinfeld theme. So they don't need
- 31:44her, They'll just drop her on there. What's wrong? I don't know
- 31:48it down here? You know what you need? You know what you need?
- 31:51What to hit the course? Today? It's gonna beautiful. I told
- 31:52you a couple of weeks ago. Probably done golfing. No, today's gonna
- 31:56beautiful. Sunshine high is sixty, gonna be that way tomorrow as well,
- 31:59So get out and enjoy the beautiful weather. TA get Amanda in the morning.
- 32:02Dige ninety seven. I mean, I know you like getting parenting advice
- 32:06from me a person without children, Yes, very much. Favorite, So
- 32:08I'd love to talk to you about what the right age to have your kids
- 32:12be on social media is and is there a right age? Because I was
- 32:16reading a few tips that I found online and should be happy to hear because
- 32:20you got a four and a three year old, I sure do, okay,
- 32:22And just to clarify, they're not on social media. They are not,
- 32:25And we actually have conversations just about how we hope a lot of these
- 32:30things change by the time our kids are old. You know, how you
- 32:32go through cycles of life. We didn't have social media. We had the
- 32:37three away phone calls that people may make on I had a Zanga account in
- 32:42junior high, so don't include me in the didn't have social I had icy
- 32:45q chat and a messenger, and even that was a little dicey, you
- 32:49know. I just well, can you imagine if you want to weigh in,
- 32:52I'd love to hear what you think right age for kids to have social
- 32:54media seven oh one two eight oh one ninety eight seven. But experts do
- 32:59say there's no right or wrong age for kids to have social media. But
- 33:01they do suggest things like accepting the fact that your kids will inevitably see explicit
- 33:07content on the Internet. I mean, it's just gonna happen, yeah,
- 33:09even if it's not directly through you. The things that people are doing on
- 33:14school buses. Because every parent is different, some people learn about things different
- 33:19because their parents don't have the parental controls. I mean, the world is
- 33:22crazy. You're gonna they're gonna find out this stuff. It's as a parent
- 33:25how you handle it, what you talk to your kids about, what you
- 33:29choose. And that's the hardest because it feels like you can't protect them from
- 33:32everything as much as you try. Yeah, and social media, from my
- 33:36experience, is mostly positive, right, Yeah, there's not a ton of
- 33:39explicit content out there. I mean when we were in high school, we
- 33:43did have Facebook, but that's not where I was seeing the explicit stuff that
- 33:45we managed to find in high school. So for me, and maybe it
- 33:50was just because of growing up as a girl and having you were either in
- 33:54the in crowd for five minutes or you were getting ganged up on. That's
- 33:58what it felt like. You just hit the easy button and it was like,
- 34:00Okay, if it's not on me, I'm going to gang up on
- 34:01everybody else. Oh, totally the mean girl situation. And I hated it.
- 34:06It was awful and it started so young. I remember fifth sixth grade
- 34:09at being bad and it kind of went through high school. You know,
- 34:13you get to a point where you're like Okay, you're over it when you're
- 34:15a senior because you know you're out of there and everybody just becomes kind of
- 34:17friends in a way. So you think social media would not help that.
- 34:22I think it's gonna make it worse because now you're hiding behind it, just
- 34:23like an you could be in a neighborhood chat and people are hiding behind their
- 34:28keyboard warriors pictures. That's where I get like the cell phone stuff where if
- 34:32they are out and you have a picture and now with like filtering and doing
- 34:37things and all right, well, so that said nervous right as you are
- 34:42right now, because of course things will change the older your daughter Sydney gets.
- 34:45But at what age do you see yourself allowing her to have like an
- 34:47Instagram or whatever it is, when she's in high school or at whatever age
- 34:52whatever it would be. Ah, I would say easier said than done,
- 34:57but I would say sixteen, Oh come on our social media? Yeah really?
- 35:00Yeah? A cell phone probably younger, just because I'm gonna want to
- 35:04be able to be in touch. But unless they still have gizmos at the
- 35:07time, where the one the little watch deals you put on and you can
- 35:10only call me or and I can call you gizmo. When was that a
- 35:15thing? I think there's still a thing now. Really yeah, I have
- 35:17myself a gizmo, but not to consider one. And again people are probably
- 35:22laughing because maybe they'll have them at not over the gizmo, but I don't
- 35:28want them to have it. Even twelve feels too young. But I you
- 35:31know, I have nieces and nephews. They have cell phones. They're going
- 35:34through They're on Instagram, and you know they're fourteen fifteen. You just have
- 35:39to and then you say, oh, I'm going to monitor it. Well,
- 35:42then they have all these apps now that you're hiding behind. If they
- 35:45get it, they're gonna put that phone in my room and I'm gonna go
- 35:49through it every night. Oh geez, you're gonna trust them? Oh wow,
- 35:52of course, big time trust there They do say framing the conversation about
- 35:57social media will help with your kids, like you know, for Examce Apple
- 36:00say, we want you to come to us with questions and we're not gonna
- 36:02judge you when you do. If you see something crazy like I don't know,
- 36:07I don't if you remember Internet in the mid two thousands, Amanda,
- 36:10but there was some stuff out there that kids like, you know, oh
- 36:14my god is and there's these just websites, which is horrible, horrible stuff.
- 36:17See, I don't remember that. I didn't go through any of that,
- 36:21so I'm more of a boys thing. Probably what I remembered is napster
- 36:25and thinking that the police were gonna show up at my house. Well,
- 36:29all it took was that one person to get convicted and everyone else was terrified.
- 36:32I mean that got me. That got me. I don't know Pikewire.
- 36:38I forgot about wire my mom's computer at had a tough go. It
- 36:44also makes me sound I will never forget when I had before I had kids.
- 36:50Oh my kids aren't gonna have screen time. They're not gonna they're not
- 36:52gonna have one of those kindles. They both haves and they know how to
- 36:58use it.
