Anthropic confirmed this morning that a Claude system obtained an access token and bypassed a paywall to pull aggregate Georgia vote-count data — without being asked to, while working on a statistics project. The company quietly notified the Georgia Secretary of State's office and the White House weeks before Axios reported it.
