- 2:09We are now talking to well known actor Robert Funaro.
- 2:13Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Eugene himself.
- 2:15Rob, what's up, buddy? All right, baby, how you doing
- 2:19Jabba of the mouth? Arrow Jabba of the mouth.
- 2:23That's interesting, I've never heard that before.
- 2:27No typical Preakness, no typical horses.
- 2:29The horses, nobody's talking. We have a betting guy that made
- 2:33that $80,000 or something like that.
- 2:35I farted. With that, everybody talks about
- 2:37the horses. You gotta talk.
- 2:40About horses you. Gotta talk about horses, you
- 2:43know? They're this big, you know?
- 2:45I have to be liking the freakness.
- 2:47So you liking the freak? I made a few dollars on the
- 2:49Derby myself. All right.
- 2:51I had some trotters that ran at Yonkers.
- 2:54Huh. I had some trotters that ran at
- 2:55Yonkers. Oh yeah, I had some.
- 2:57I had some horses that ran at Belmont and Aqueduct that one
- 3:01time some years back during the California Chrome time.
- 3:05Oh yeah. Speedy likes horses, right?
- 3:07Speedy. I know, but our friend, our
- 3:09friend Chaz does. He's made made a lot of money on
- 3:12that. You made what?
- 3:14Our friend Chaz has made a lot of money.
- 3:15On that, I'm talking about you. You love horses.
- 3:17I said no, but I said our friend Chaz.
- 3:18Does Have you ever thought about letting a horse ride you?
- 3:21Yes or no? No.
- 3:22Why not? Because it's a lot bigger than
- 3:24me. Got it going on.
- 3:29Ladies and gentlemen, we have the one and only Robert Funaro
- 3:33and Rob. You know, it's interesting.
- 3:35I, I know you're a sports fan, but we're going to stay away
- 3:38from sports right now. We're going to talk about some.
- 3:40Sports. I like horse racing.
- 3:41You like all right, You like horse racing.
- 3:44He likes horse racing, all right.
- 3:46But we're we'll we'll get into some horse racing a little bit
- 3:48later. I want to talk about.
- 3:50Nickname for you is big. Horse, Big horse.
- 3:52I like that that that would be a good Italian name.
- 3:55You can go call me Errol, the big horse Marts.
- 3:57I like that. Call me big horse.
- 3:59All right. So obviously you played Eugene
- 4:02and The Sopranos. I, you know, I, I got a chance
- 4:05to watch the first season. So I know who you played.
- 4:07I know a little bit about what you you, you who you played on
- 4:11the show. What was it like working on one
- 4:14of the greatest shows in American history?
- 4:19It was, it was really, you don't really appreciate the these
- 4:23things until you you don't have them any longer until, until
- 4:26you, you die. But it it was a great
- 4:29experience. And Jim Gandolfini, who was a
- 4:31friend, he set the tone, a man of great humility and a good
- 4:36friend who sent the elevator down, so to say, as Jack Lemmon
- 4:40would say for his other friend is that actor or colleague, so
- 4:43to say. So by him setting the tone, it
- 4:47was just like a family and no one.
- 4:50There were no personalities, people yelling at each other.
- 4:53No, I won't do that, do this. Everyone fell in line because of
- 4:57James. What what?
- 4:58He set the tone of humility and grace, so to say.
- 5:02And and he was very generous man also.
- 5:05So I owe a lot to him. So any, any guest stars that are
- 5:08on that show, probably a lot of them that you had a connection
- 5:11with either on the set or even outside of it, good stories with
- 5:15them. Yeah, I mean, we had
- 5:18connections, connections with Maureen Van Zandt and and Vinnie
- 5:22Vincent Pastela, Big Pussy and Maureen.
- 5:25We we did some plays together. We had a, we had a theatre
- 5:28company called, well, it was once Renegade Theatre Company
- 5:32and we did some plays by Louis Larusso, some Italian good, some
- 5:36some great Italian playwrights. We did lamppost reunion with
- 5:39Frank Pellegrino from Rail. So there's some great
- 5:42relationship. Everyone kind of fell in for the
- 5:44their friends. And so they, they were my good
- 5:46friends and, and we did plays together.
- 5:49So that was cool, you know, besides everything else.
- 5:53I got to know Lorraine pretty well through Mitchell Modell
- 5:56because they live by each other and you know, it was always just
- 5:59interesting like her, her character and like her
- 6:02personality and and how it was she and she was always like it
- 6:05was really hard to play because I was so loud and in this, this
- 6:09had to be a different role. Was there somebody when you were
- 6:12working together that you just felt like you clicked with them
- 6:15better than certain other people?
- 6:17Because a lot of people have that like I work with a certain
- 6:19catcher because it, you know, does this was was there somebody
- 6:22that you worked with or it was just like it was natural and you
- 6:25could just either ad Lib and go off script and but it.
- 6:28One thing he couldn't do job was is was go off script because
- 6:33they had the the first a DS they were there and the script
- 6:36supervisors. You had to go by every single
- 6:39word on this TV show and and you couldn't add Lib like I did with
- 6:42Marty Scorsese for the Irishman and Vinyl and stuff like that.
- 6:46There are other directors, especially in film.
- 6:48You can you want to get that reality.
- 6:51It's a different kind of experience, but in TV the
- 6:54writers have a little bit few more rights and they really were
- 6:58very, very, very strict about it.
- 7:00But if you're asking who I love to work with, well, it was
- 7:03always James, especially on the big episode that I had to
- 7:06members only where I had some sort of trajectory.
- 7:09My my storyline of, of, you know, inheriting money from
- 7:12Victor Borg is agent. My aunt was married to Victor
- 7:15Borg is agent. I mean, where did they get this
- 7:17stuff, you know? But anyway, it was a great
- 7:19script and work with James and it was great to work with him.
- 7:23And, and we didn't really, you know, we were scheduled to work
- 7:26early on in the episode, our big scene and he kept on delaying it
- 7:31and delaying it. I think he really wanted me to
- 7:33get it kind of get the running in into the marathon, so to say,
- 7:39get my second win. And when I had my second win, we
- 7:41did a great scene together. So, you know, it was great to
- 7:44work with him. Speedy's got a lot of second
- 7:46wins, by the way, You're going to get to know Speedy a little
- 7:49bit. You know, he, he definitely
- 7:50doesn't shut up and he drives every winds.
- 7:54He's like a big windbag. We are now talking to well known
- 7:58actor Robert Funaro played Eugene on The Sopranos.
- 8:01You know, there was a guy on the show that really stuck, stood
- 8:05out to me because I'm a big Bruce Springsteen fan.
- 8:08Steven Van Zandt, very well known guitarist.
- 8:11He's been around for a very, very long time.
- 8:13What was it like working with Steven?
- 8:15I've heard he's been, you know, over the years.
- 8:17He's a very unique individual, very funny, very outgoing.
- 8:21What was it like working with somebody like Steven?
- 8:24Stevie, a great person and another man of great humility
- 8:30when he was there to act, not to, you know, talk about Bruce
- 8:34and stuff. And it was great to know
- 8:37Maureen, who played his wife on the show because we did plays
- 8:41together and I got to see all the concerts, went to see Bruce.
- 8:44That was a little perk that I loved.
- 8:46And not because, because we were friends and he always came to
- 8:50all our shows, all our Off Broadway shows, off of Broadway
- 8:54shows, off Broadway shows, he would always come to them and
- 8:56and give us his support, even actually funded some of them.
- 9:00So he's a great guy. And as I said, you know, it's
- 9:03all business. It's all acting when he's
- 9:04acting. And the one great thing about
- 9:08him, you can ask him any trivia Rock'n'roll trivia question.
- 9:12And man, damn, he's right there. I'll have the answer for you.
- 9:15You know what I mean? I've I've heard he's a big, he's
- 9:18a big sport sports fan, he's a big Yankee fan.
- 9:20So I've also. He likes to play the horses,
- 9:22too, yeah. Who?
- 9:24Who doesn't like playing the horses?
- 9:26Except Speedy. Speedy likes horses.
- 9:28Riding him instead of watching if.
- 9:29There was a horse riding me. I would not be here right now,
- 9:32I'd be in the hospital. Yeah, you'd be in the hospital.
- 9:35Well, no. He'd be dead.
- 9:36He'd be dead. What is this hospital the size?
- 9:41Or what is this horse the size of an elephant?
- 9:44Hey, have you screamed their their manhood dog?
- 9:48I don't know anything about horses, manhoods, Java I.
- 9:57No comment. You made the right decision, I
- 10:00thought. I thought, I thought error will
- 10:02be the one to ever think about that.
- 10:03I'm surprised that it was Java this time.
- 10:05Do you want to jerk me off? God, no niffin soundboard
- 10:09edition intelligence method that is not looking good for your
- 10:15'cause right now. All right, moving off, of
- 10:18course, moving off of horses alter lives.
- 10:21I know you like. Use the answer on the grounds
- 10:24that might incriminate. Oh my God, what is this now?
- 10:28That's an upside down horse, yeah.
- 10:31Who's riding him? That's it.
- 10:34All right. I have a suspect.
- 10:35I believe he's in his car right now.
- 10:38I wonder if he has some involvement in this because he
- 10:41went horses. Horses like saddles.
- 10:44They're not far behind the leashes.
- 10:47A lot of hot ladies. So Rob, before this gets too
- 10:51further out of hand, any any of your roles that maybe we're not
- 10:55as popular as something like The Sopranos or The Irishman that
- 10:57you had a particularly favorite role that you liked getting
- 11:01involved with? And why would that be?
- 11:04Oh OK, I did like working on. Well, the Irishman was really a
- 11:11fun. Love that movie.
- 11:12But it was the second thing off of I did Vinyl where I played
- 11:18Tony with Bobby Carnevale and I got a chance to work with Bobby
- 11:22Carnevale. But it was the first time I ever
- 11:23worked with Robert De Niro and that was a it was great.
- 11:27I had a great scene with him and when I walked off the set, I
- 11:32said, jeez, I was just with Max Katie.
- 11:34I just was hanging out with taxi driver.
- 11:36I was hanging out with all those guys, man.
- 11:38And it was it was really a great feeling to work with Bobby De
- 11:43Niro and I knew some people that he knew.
- 11:45So I was able to strike up a conversation because he's a very
- 11:47quiet guy and to kind of break the ice, so to say, because I
- 11:51played it one of his friend and I kind of introduced him to as
- 11:55as a as the Irishman. I introduced him to Frank
- 11:59Sheeran. I introduced him to Skinny
- 12:00Razor. So that was a great experience.
- 12:03Also, you know, I played in with Jessica Biel in who's beautiful
- 12:07in the center and that was a great role too.
- 12:11Although I went in as Ron Tana and they changed the name to
- 12:14Tinetti, but I was still happy to be the to be the
- 12:17father-in-law. So not a non typical wise guy
- 12:20kind of manner, a working class kind of guy, almost like De Niro
- 12:24when he played in Bronx Tale. So those roles are kind of red
- 12:26letter days for guys because you get typecast a lot.
- 12:29I would have been Jessica Sinner, OK?
- 12:31I would have been like, Jessica, come over here, baby.
- 12:33Give me a kiss. All right on the cheek.
- 12:35Right over here, man. Give me a nice meal.
- 12:36She ran the series. I wouldn't have been.
- 12:39I would have been on the call for the calls me for the next
- 12:41day. Listen, she gave me a kiss.
- 12:43I might have to be in the backroom if you know what I
- 12:45mean. I'll tell you, yeah, certain
- 12:48people you work with, you know, and she was one of them that you
- 12:52like. When you look at her, you say,
- 12:53holy shit. Angie Harmon, also from Law and
- 12:56Order. It's like you like you like a
- 12:58deer caught in the headlights. It's the beauty is just like so
- 13:01fucking beautiful, you know what I mean?
- 13:03It's like, whoa, you know? Beautiful, beautiful.
- 13:07Yeah, there there's some you see and you, you probably come
- 13:11across this too and in, in all your years doing it.
- 13:14But there's some that are actually beautiful.
- 13:16Like more beautiful in person than you actually see them on
- 13:19screen. Yeah, me.
- 13:22Well, I I wouldn't go that far. Let's not.
- 13:24Push it. Hey, wait a second.
- 13:26You never met me in person. How do you know?
- 13:29How the hell do you know I'm a beautiful guy?
- 13:31Wait, a look at this wonderful smile.
- 13:34Of of 5 foot 10 1/2. That's right.
- 13:37They said yes, 510 1/2, a little bit over 1/2, but we'll say 1/2.
- 13:42OK, I'm just, I'm trying to help you here.
- 13:44Go ahead. I'm sorry.
- 13:44Robert, when you were younger, like, was this always your
- 13:48passion or did somehow somebody push you in that direction?
- 13:52Or was this you just fell into it?
- 13:55There was no pushing for me. I, I mean, my uncle was a
- 13:59priest, he was a Monsignor. He raised money for Catholic
- 14:01Charities by putting on plays. He started really humbly in, in
- 14:06Howard Beach. And then he he, he, he related
- 14:09was he was later elevated to Brooklyn Catholic Charities and
- 14:13he raised a lot of money by doing musical.
- 14:15So the family would always go to to see his plays.
- 14:18And then he would take us to see plays.
- 14:20One of the most memorable plays was the chorus line.
- 14:22And when I went to see that, I was hooked.
- 14:24It's just that was a great show. Michael Bennett.
- 14:27The whole idea of, of just wanted you just to, to, to, to
- 14:32do it from there I was hooked. And, and then then of course, I
- 14:36did one year with Pace University college as I wanted
- 14:39to be a businessman and I failed that miserably.
- 14:43I wrote a poem for my final don't quit.
- 14:46And then I went home and I, and I, as I was talking to my mom
- 14:49and she said, why don't you do something you like to do?
- 14:51And it was a trauma program. So I fell into that.
- 14:53Although I didn't graduate trauma the, the program, I did
- 14:58start it. So to say I'm more or less
- 15:00working towards a professional professional on a professional
- 15:04level. We are talking to well, we are
- 15:06talking a well known actor, Robert Funaro.
- 15:09Let's get into your book, OK, Because you know, Nathan, Nathan
- 15:13was telling me that you wrote a book.
- 15:14I hopefully I was in it. Even though you don't know me,
- 15:17maybe you you put a little passage about some guy that I
- 15:21might meet in the future named Errol.
- 15:23I mean, tell us a little bit about your book.
- 15:26How long did it take you to write it?
- 15:28Obviously and obvious. You know, I seen you do a lot of
- 15:32book signings. How long has this book been out
- 15:35and and how's it doing right now on Amazon?
- 15:38Well, it's doing really well. It's doing really well.
- 15:40I mean, it opened up opening night was like in February and
- 15:45we, and we saw quite a few, we saw we sold out on the on
- 15:48Paisancon. You know, The thing is COVID
- 15:51happened. We started cook, I started
- 15:53cooking and I started doing this thing with my hand, all the food
- 15:56and stuff, and I put him on Instagram.
- 15:59So, you know, my manager was really adept.
- 16:01Andrew Jedlica. He he he suggested I do this
- 16:05cookbook and I said another act that Stanley Tucci get a little
- 16:08cookbook. It's just stupid, you know, and,
- 16:10and I said, you know, what the hell am I doing?
- 16:12I'm really not really working. It's like very little work.
- 16:15We had the COVID then the strike and I said, you know what, I'll
- 16:19do it. But you know what I'll do?
- 16:21I'll tell you what I'll I'll book ended with like 8 pull 8
- 16:26episodes. I did like 2425, I'm not sure.
- 16:29And I'll pull 8 episodes that I really enjoyed and I'll talk
- 16:32about my experience of getting on the show, my relationship to
- 16:35James Gambolofini. We did Streetcar Named Desire
- 16:38prior eight years in the 80s, We did that.
- 16:41We toured Scandinavia for three months.
- 16:44Later on he came back to America.
- 16:45I was working. So it's all in a book.
- 16:47I'll talk about how I got on the show, what happened to me, how I
- 16:51landed a particular role. You have to read the book to to
- 16:54and then I was it didn't happen that role.
- 16:57And then I was given Eugene and for actors also.
- 17:01And then, of course, twofold being for actors and secondly,
- 17:06also to to carry on the legacy of so many great recipes.
- 17:09I'm sure you have them. Everyone has it.
- 17:11You wish you had a rest of that recipe that grabbed that
- 17:14meatloaf recipe. So at least these are down and
- 17:18and so later on, when I'm when I'm pushing up daisies, they can
- 17:23pick up a book and say that was that was Rob, Uncle Rob or great
- 17:27Grandpa Rob. And let's let's do a let's do a
- 17:30Sunday sauce. You know, Mama Fanara Sunday
- 17:33sauce. You know what I'm saying?
- 17:34That's. Not what I know about the sauce,
- 17:37man. You got to stay away from Speedy
- 17:38sauce. I mean, that could be really
- 17:40dangerous, as we all know. Now you don't want, you don't
- 17:42want me cooking Italian food. You're in New York.
- 17:46It's really simple. There's step by step
- 17:48instructions. It's really, you know, it's
- 17:51this, it's about 125 pages. It's not like it's not it's,
- 17:56it's not Hemingway. You might need Speedy's recipe,
- 18:01if you know what I mean. A little.
- 18:03You wouldn't want that. Caesar sauce.
- 18:05You would not want. That a little squirt.
- 18:07You can burn. You can burn that recipe.
- 18:09Salad dressing, Robert, you can. Robert, you can.
- 18:12Next, next recipe. If you ever do one of those
- 18:14recipe shows, you could just take my recipe and burn it
- 18:16first, then cook I'll in front, I'll in front of your viewers,
- 18:21because I I would be. Fart Fish said a good thing.
- 18:25We should, we should. We should get Robert's book,
- 18:28pick out a recipe and then have Speedy film and then post it.
- 18:32If you want a blooper reel, you could do that, Robert.
- 18:35You do not want to see this guy. Everybody says, listen, I I've
- 18:39been said, I've been told many, many times that hey, you don't
- 18:43cook. But when I do cook, I'm actually
- 18:44pretty good. When you watch this guy cook,
- 18:47he'll mess up tuna fish, he'll mess up macaroni and cheese.
- 18:52You do not want him to touch a pot, a hot pan or anything.
- 18:56He'll screw it up. So stay away from my food,
- 18:59speedy, especially with those juices, if you know what I mean.
- 19:02By the way, we are talking a well known actor, Robert Funaro.
- 19:06You know, Rob, you were talking about the Preakness and it's
- 19:10coming out right up and I know we're going to have Chaz on the
- 19:13show. Is he coming on tonight?
- 19:16Johnny is coming on. I'm not sure about Chaz.
- 19:18Well, the Preakness, this guy, I don't know if you've listened to
- 19:21a show and if you haven't, you should because Chaz, he had the
- 19:24trifecta not once, but twice back-to-back years.
- 19:27This guy is as good a pick picker when it comes to horses.
- 19:30It's absolutely amazing. But I have been, you know,
- 19:34skewing through the different horses that are going to be in
- 19:37in the Preakness. And one horse that really sticks
- 19:40out to me, the name is American Promise.
- 19:44Now you're a horse fan. Tell us a little bit about
- 19:47American Promise. He it's 50.
- 19:50It's 15 to 1 to win the Preakness.
- 19:54Well, you know, he's a Dwayne. Lucas is always a dangerous
- 19:57trainer, by the way, I I did have the exact straight coal and
- 20:02and win money on the on on sovereignty.
- 20:05So I got a pretty good I've got a pretty good return on
- 20:08investments for the Kentucky Derby.
- 20:10But I'm not going to, I'm not going to say that the, the, you
- 20:13know, America promises that you're going to get a price the
- 20:16horses. I, I like another horse, a
- 20:20couple of horses. I do like journalists to win the
- 20:22race. I think he deserves, he deserves
- 20:24his props and I'd love to see him win.
- 20:26And I think he's the best trained horse in the field.
- 20:30But I also like this other horse by Todd Pletcher who came in
- 20:33second to Sovereignty for 2nd place at River Thames.
- 20:37So my choice is journalism over River Thames and I'm, and you
- 20:42know, you got to make a choice and you can't play them all.
- 20:45And those are the two that I, those are the two that I like
- 20:48based on River Thames performance.
- 20:50And he skipped the Derby. So Todd Pletcher, who was a very
- 20:53good trainer, he never won the race, but I think he, he, he
- 20:58might come close to winning at this time.
- 20:59But I do believe that journalism is the best horse.
- 21:02It's going to be raining. What do you, what do you look
- 21:05into a horse that makes you think that this particular horse
- 21:08is going to win that race? I mean, certain fields are a
- 21:12little bit longer, so you need a obviously a longer stride.
- 21:16There's some horses that are better and smaller, you know,
- 21:19smaller. Races A small example
- 21:21Sovereignty ran in the Florida Derby, but you're looking for an
- 21:24angle. So now his jockey where I'm in
- 21:27the Florida, he was Manny Franco.
- 21:28Now Franco wasn't his regular jockey.
- 21:31He was Junior Alvarado who was fine, but 60,000 foot whip of
- 21:34the made time. But that's bullshit anyway
- 21:36because anyway, moving on. So Franco, if you watch that
- 21:41race close, you see he starts getting up on sovereignty really
- 21:44late. Now he was beaten, he was
- 21:46defeated, but he starts moving him really because he didn't
- 21:49really know the horse like Junior did.
- 21:51So Junior being hurt, he's coming back and he almost won
- 21:55that race. He was come back.
- 21:56So you got to say to yourself, geez, another eighth of a mile
- 21:59and you look at his breeding, look who he's from into mischief
- 22:02is is is genealogy, so to say his genes.
- 22:05So he's got it inside himself to do that distance.
- 22:08Now you look him come up and you say to yourself, well, he
- 22:11doesn't really need to win the race to get into the Derby.
- 22:14A lot of these three-year olds, they have to train and they
- 22:16learn as they go along. So you say to yourself, he's a
- 22:20perfect candidate to close on a a speedy race, which is a race
- 22:25that the horses go out really quickly, which they did in the
- 22:28Kentucky Derby. 46, you know, 59, you know, I mean, so you,
- 22:36you're looking for that now. But the jockey angle was my
- 22:38biggest, biggest factor because I I knew that, you know, Franco
- 22:43started late on him and I knew that junior who was back on him.
- 22:46He was recovered that he really was going to do do his best to
- 22:50to get him going on the in the right stage.
- 22:53And, and I knew that he can and journalism.
- 22:55He almost got beat by Baeza. He was very vulnerable and in
- 22:59that respect, but he's a great horse.
- 23:01He's always been almost beat. So with another eighth of a
- 23:06mile, maybe he can sovereignty did it.
- 23:10So that's what you're looking for.
- 23:11Now in this particular race, you, you know, you got to think
- 23:13that journalism could do two things.
- 23:16He could run fast and he can rate.
- 23:17So he's, it's only 8 horse fields, a short field.
- 23:20He's going to go out and he's going to and he's and he's going
- 23:22to be with the winners up, He's going to be with the horse up
- 23:24top. Is he in shape?
- 23:25He's in perfect shape. River Thames ran against great
- 23:29horses and he came second and third.
- 23:31So if you want a little bit of an exact the price, you go with
- 23:35that. So that's that's my that's my
- 23:37strategy. Look for always look for an
- 23:39angle error. It could be in in the jeans like
- 23:41some horses have wet track, they have it on the wet track
- 23:44performance. They they have a gene out in
- 23:46their genes. They're great Wet, Wet runners
- 23:49you. Know, do you think, do you think
- 23:51a sloppy track affects the horses as as far as the
- 23:54genealogy of it? Because I wanted to get in that
- 23:56because a sloppy track changes your strategy on how whether you
- 24:00know you come early, you come late, you go on the inside, or
- 24:03you try to come on the outside. Absolutely it it definitely does
- 24:06a lot of like one one horse that's a great a a great breeder
- 24:11of sire is called flatter. Whenever you see a a sloppy race
- 24:16and you see that the breeding on one horse is flattered, no
- 24:18matter what the price is always bet that horse.
- 24:21Usually sometimes I I would say a good a good number of times
- 24:24you'll you'll be you'll you'll win.
- 24:26You're looking for wet track form.
- 24:28Not all horses. Now I think that if the track
- 24:30was dry, I think journalism would have put up a better
- 24:32fight. I'm not so sure he would have
- 24:34lost. It was a given given that field,
- 24:36because he's a great horse. He really is.
- 24:38He's at a, he's at AI believe he's out of Curlin and that's a
- 24:41pretty good horse. Before we let you go, because I
- 24:44know you're a busy guy, tell us a little bit about some of the
- 24:48things that you're going to be coming doing in the next couple
- 24:51of months and coming up where some of the fans could see you
- 24:54or get your autograph or meet you in person.
- 24:58Well, you can go to Instagram and you can friend me and you
- 25:01can find out what, what what I'm doing.
- 25:04You'd also purchase my book through Instagram on Amazon
- 25:07Prime by hitting the link. I'm on there.
- 25:11There's a Kindle copy, a soft cover, a hardcover.
- 25:16I prefer the hardcover. It's the the pitch is a little
- 25:18bit more glossier. That's a little shinier.
- 25:21I'm doing Barnes and another Barnes and Noble in Massapequa
- 25:24June 14th at between 1:00 and 3:00.
- 25:27So I'll I'll be up there in Long Island and my old family
- 25:30stomping ground. Long Island.
- 25:33Cafe Michelangelo we're doing a cigar event.
- 25:35I do I do represent the cigar company called Omerta and a
- 25:38coffee company called Omerta. Meet Jason Sarbone and Dan
- 25:41Gamaldi. We promote this cigar and coffee
- 25:45company. So we're doing something in at
- 25:47Cafe Michelangelo in in Philadelphia.
- 25:49Coming up with it's on, you know, it's on, as I said on
- 25:52Amazon, I also have an independent film called Critical
- 25:55Acclaim the Movie, and that's on Amazon too.
- 25:57That's a pretty cool, cool film about a film director that gets
- 26:00a bad review and he gets kind of goes berserk.
- 26:03So what else is new? When when you're actually
- 26:05directing in a movie, you should invite us to be, you know, play
- 26:08a part. I mean, Java could play the guy
- 26:10that I killed in the movie. I mean, that would be great.
- 26:13I'd be the the mafia killer. I'd be that person that you're
- 26:17hiring to go and. Kill him.
- 26:18You want to clip him? Yeah, I want.
- 26:19To clip him, I want to flip them or beat them with, you know, a
- 26:22baseball bat. I'd rather, instead of using a
- 26:24gun, I'd rather use a weapon. You know, I want to watch the
- 26:28guy bleed out, You know, I know killing somebody.
- 26:31Films that we saw, like weapons like that were, well, you know,
- 26:35you got to go to the golf or the Sunny Corleone.
- 26:38That beaten was beautiful. How about that was a beautiful
- 26:40beaten. Yeah, how about, how about
- 26:42cutting the horses? It's going to be.
- 26:43One of the top five Beatens ever, right?
- 26:45Yeah, I like. I like the.
- 26:47Name. Can you name 1?
- 26:48Can you name 1 Joe Burke? Can you name one Speedy Speedy
- 26:51that you that you remember that one not?
- 26:52Better than that one. Yeah.
- 26:57Last summer I'm. About to set off and it just
- 26:59rolls down the on the ground. Oh Last Samurai well, you know
- 27:03yeah, that's that's some good ones there the samurai films,
- 27:06Zaitochi and Matusi and Mafun, there's some great the samurai
- 27:10films that but that that's all clean cut.
- 27:13It's not really getting torturing them.
- 27:15You know, I tell you one film and I know you got to go.
- 27:19We got to go. We got to end this one film
- 27:22Casino when Frank Vincent and he takes show Pesci and his brother
- 27:30to those weeds, you know, and they have the two brothers and
- 27:34they're going to kill him and they start hitting with the
- 27:37baseball bat and he makes the other brother watch and that's
- 27:40one of the most brutal scenes and realistic scenes that ever
- 27:44in any film. I believe that really.
- 27:47You say to yourself, she's wow. It's like you like you're
- 27:49affected by it. You feel feel hurt but and
- 27:54that's just Scorsese and and what he does.
- 27:57I'm going to give you, I'm going to give you a mafia.
- 27:59Movie I remember. That scene I remember.
- 28:01That. Scene First of all, I'm a big
- 28:02mafia movie fan. OK, so I watch every mafia
- 28:06movie. I got a mafia movie you probably
- 28:08never seen. You ready?
- 28:1110th and Wolf? Have you ever seen that movie?
- 28:14What's that? 10th and Wolf, that's what it's
- 28:16called. No, I.
- 28:18Never seen that. You see, I can teach somebody
- 28:21something. Go check it out.
- 28:23It's in 2006. The movie came out.
- 28:27Giovanni. I always pronounce his name
- 28:30wrong. So Giovanni Ribisi, he was in
- 28:33the movie. It is a great, great movie.
- 28:37Dennis Hopper was in it. Val Kilmer was in it.
- 28:39It is a great, great movie. It's called 10th.
- 28:42I want to check it out, Wolf. So it's actually a good movie.
- 28:45So if you never seen it, go out there and go rent it, go watch
- 28:49it. I I think it's on prime.
- 28:50I'm not sure, but you could definitely find it.
- 28:52Take them off. Thank you.
- 28:54You know, I'm, I'm trying to help you here, Rob.
- 28:56I mean, I I mean look at Speedy. I'm not above now.
- 28:58I am not above now. I think Speedy, look at, look at
- 29:02Speedy. He's he looks like Rob.
- 29:04Rob, Doesn't Speedy look like your long lost son?
- 29:06I mean, look at him. Look at him.
- 29:08I mean, Speedy, take the hat off.
- 29:09Take the hat off. Jesus, you cut the beard.
- 29:12Take that off. Look at that.
- 29:13Yeah, look at that. Look at that, can you make a
- 29:16close up of them? Close up, Speedy.
- 29:19Well, there you go. Look at that.
- 29:20That sexy man I. Think so.
- 29:22Yeah, I think we could be. We definitely could be my son.
- 29:24We could even be brothers. Brothers, I mean, Speedy, What
- 29:27do you think? Would you like Rob to be your
- 29:29long lost brother, Sir? Proof.
- 29:32Proof. All right, Who do you think
- 29:34you'd get a girl quicker? You were Rob.
- 29:35Rob easily. Why?
- 29:36Why couldn't you get a girl quicker than Rob?
- 29:38Because I'm awkward. I don't know about that, man,
- 29:40because you see anybody here? Hey honey, come on, bring me the
- 29:48sausage of Baptist. Where she Speaking of sausage, I
- 29:51mean, Speedy is a very, very good at, you know, proposing,
- 29:57you know, really nice sausage. You just eat speedy.
- 29:59Tell them what kind of sausages you I don't know.
- 30:01I, I, I think we're dealing with somebody that does recipes on
- 30:04Instagram. It's much more of an enthusiast
- 30:06what kind of sausages than me, I think.
- 30:08I think you've met your match here.
- 30:10Well, tell them a little bit about the sausage you like.
- 30:12Do you like them amateur compared?
- 30:14Hold on. Hold on, I'm asking you a
- 30:15question. Do you like them dark?
- 30:16I like them spicy. I den dark or amateur compared
- 30:19to. Darker white.
- 30:21You like it darker? Yes.
- 30:22Darker. Yes.
- 30:23How long do you like it? I don't know.
- 30:25How about thick? Do you like it thicker?
- 30:27God, enough with the size, it doesn't matter.
- 30:29The size doesn't matter. You heard that, Rob, Size
- 30:32doesn't matter, especially when it.
- 30:33Goes Rob when you, when you, when you do your.
- 30:35Italian sausage the Shiva deals so to.
- 30:39Say when you're doing your recipes, does flavor matter more
- 30:42or size? The truth is in the taste.
- 30:47That's it. Because truth is in the taste.
- 30:49It's in the taste, speedy, but you know it.
- 30:51Taste, not size. Well, size is pretty good too,
- 30:54you know, taste. Got to ask the ladies that you
- 30:57know. What do you think, Speedy?
- 30:58I'm not that that'd be weird anyways.
- 31:08Yeah, my bank heist. I'll just let you know some.
- 31:11Victim of his hypothetical Rob movie after Jabba kills.
- 31:13Him Rob, just so you know, this guy, he he would rather steal
- 31:18sausages than actual money. This guy is a sausage fan.
- 31:23I mean, he's all about the sausage.
- 31:24So if you ever get a chance, if you can, take him to one of
- 31:28those Italian restaurants and enjoy a sausage with him.
- 31:31Or sausage. But is he?
- 31:32Is he spicy or regular? Speedy it doesn't matter because
- 31:36I'm not stealing anything. I was at an Italian restaurant
- 31:41with Rob. I would not want to be
- 31:42committing theft. That's, well, it depends on who
- 31:44you're stealing. From it doesn't matter who I'm
- 31:46stealing. From nice Scarpiello with the
- 31:48sausages, Nice chicken Scarpiello comes with the
- 31:51sausage and the chicken and swap is really nice.
- 31:54Yeah, it does sound good. Speedy, you just got to grab.
- 31:56Making me hungry. Speedy, you just got to grab the
- 31:58end, right? I don't care what I'm grabbing.
- 32:01I'm not stealing anything. I'm not stealing anything.
- 32:05Well, somebody's got to steal it, right?
- 32:07Yeah. And those people can be
- 32:08arrested. Robbie's a thief.
- 32:14No, I said those people. But you just said they.
- 32:16Can be those those people meeting other people, not you,
- 32:20not me? I don't know.
- 32:26I'm not licking anyone. There you go, I'm.
- 32:28Definitely not licking anyone either.
- 32:29He mind. You guys, I know you probably
- 32:31talked about the Knicks. What do you think of the the
- 32:33story with them? You think they're going to pull
- 32:35it out? Or game six, Game 6, I think
- 32:38they'll pull it out. Madison Square Garden in front
- 32:41of their fans. I, I, I do believe that going
- 32:44home is definitely good and fitting for the Knicks to win
- 32:48game number six. I didn't think they were winning
- 32:50game five. I thought obviously after Jason
- 32:53Tatum going down and the fans all over social media taking
- 32:56shots at the team that they didn't show up at in, in the
- 33:00fourth quarter in game #4I I thought that they were going to
- 33:03come out strong. And the Knicks, for some reason
- 33:06in this series, when they lose, they lose bad.
- 33:08And I expected as soon as the Knicks fell behind it in, in
- 33:13game five, I knew they were going to lose the game by big.
- 33:15So I expect the Knicks to keep to, to hopefully start the game
- 33:19strong in game number six in front of their fans in Madison
- 33:22Square Garden because they don't want to go to Boston in game #7
- 33:26when they have the momentum. But.
- 33:28Rob, I was there for you, the Houston, the Rockets when John
- 33:31Stark shot that shot against it and they would have taken why
- 33:34did. You have to do that.
- 33:35I I liked you. I liked you until you mentioned
- 33:391990. Four, I saw it on the.
- 33:40Floor and you. Had to do this.
- 33:42I was. I was heartbroken.
- 33:43I was heartbroken. I want.
- 33:45To finish it out, you know what I mean?
- 33:46They didn't have to go back and they lost in Houston.
- 33:48So it was like, you know. Thank you.
- 33:50Thank you very much. I.
- 33:51Want, I want the I want the Nixon 6 so everybody can go to
- 33:54my restaurant that's right down the street.
- 33:56I agree. What's your restaurant?
- 33:58American Whiskey. All right, yeah, definitely go
- 34:02check it out. He's got good sausage over
- 34:04there. He got good sausage.
- 34:05Over there. What street?
- 34:0735th. All right, all right.
- 34:10You know if you're going South from the garden, that Mustang
- 34:13Sally's. That's on the.
- 34:14Corner, just take a right, right there and we're in the middle of
- 34:17the block. Check it out.
- 34:19It's right around. The corner the game, but yeah.
- 34:22It's right around the corner. I'm just curious.
- 34:25It seems like a lot of people chaotic outside the garden.
- 34:28I never, I mean I used to work at the garden.
- 34:30I mean that seems like. A lot they they closed down 7th
- 34:32Ave. after the game the other day.
- 34:34They close it down. Wow, it's crazy.
- 34:37Just so you know. New York is crowded, huh?
- 34:39Just so you know, American whiskey is right around the
- 34:42corner from the Sausage Palace. So if you if you, you want
- 34:45yourself a sausage. It used to be right next to the
- 34:49best rub and tug and. Giuliani got in there and he
- 34:54cleaned it up. Well, Robert Kraft, anybody
- 35:02wants some Kraft macaroni and cheese?
- 35:04Anyways, thank you, Rob for joining us.
- 35:06We really. Appreciate it.
- 35:07Thank you, Jober and Speedy. Thank you very much.
- 35:10It's been a great pleasure to be on your show.
- 35:12Yes, you're eloquent. You're you're you're erudite.
- 35:16There we go. And you're you're meaningful.
- 35:18And and the sausage, it's interesting.
- 35:21It is. It's very interesting.
- 35:22I think it's the first time any of us have been called erudite.
- 35:25Where? You go.
- 35:27Yeah, well, what's wrong with that?
- 35:28I like that. Oh.
- 35:29I love this. Pulled it out my ass.
- 35:34Rob Sophisticated. Make me want to make sausage and
- 35:39Peppers now. As long as she's using dude
- 35:40wipes and taking care of my tooth hole I'm good.
- 35:46Anyways, that's our soundboard. But we love you, Rob.
- 35:49We really do. Keep up the good work.
- 35:50Let's get you on the show, man. You're going to be a Master P
- 35:53Quote. I, I maybe me and Speedy will
- 35:55come down there and hang out with you.
- 35:58Let's hang out. Let's hang out.
- 35:59We'll eat some sausages together.
- 36:01Speedy can share his sausage with you.
- 36:03There's got to be a place to unless I bring some good
- 36:05sausage. With you.
- 36:06There you go You you have a good sausage, Speedy will share it
- 36:09with you, Right Speedy? I'd rather I'd rather throw mom.
- 36:12No comment on that. Rob, don't worry, Rob, don't
- 36:18worry if that ever ends. Up happening.
- 36:22Rob, if that ever, ever ends up happening, I'll throw the
- 36:24sausage at him. You know what's so funny, Robin,
- 36:26by the way, I want you to tell everybody who they should go
- 36:29with one more time before we let you go.
- 36:31Speedy, when he's trying to, you know, add something, he will cut
- 36:36anybody off just to get it out there.
- 36:38He will do anything it would. And when he, he doesn't want to
- 36:42speak, he'll, he'll just sit there like he's got to stick up
- 36:45his ass or a sausage up his ass. So that's, that's Speedy, ladies
- 36:48and gentlemen. But tell the fans who they
- 36:51should bid on at the Preakness. I I say journalism over River
- 36:56Thames and a little bit of reverse reverses a little bit as
- 36:59a savor. There you go.
- 37:01That's my pick. All right, our bonus.
- 37:02Let's parlay with Robert. There you go, and and and by the
- 37:05way. I got to go back off now.
- 37:08So, you know, somebody's got to go whack off.
- 37:10It's probably NIF, but anyways, thank.
- 37:12You guys. Thank you, Rob.
- 37:13We really love you. Thank you so much, Robert.
- 37:16Love you too. Robert Funaro, first time on our
- 37:18show. Very good, great personality.
- 37:21Enjoy sausages and stay away from Speedy.
- 37:24OK, stay the hell away from Speedy.
- 37:26All right, That's all I'm going to say about that.
- 37:29I, I thought I thought he was cool.
- 37:30I he got a chance to know how crazy we are and we had a little
- 37:33fun with him. So I thought it was great.
- 37:36He's got a good, a really good sense of humor for sure.
- 37:39Oh, it was. Great.
- 37:39Somebody's going to have to have a good sense of humor.
- 37:42I mean, Speedy don't. That's what he did.
- 37:44Make me hungry though, I'm not going to lie.
- 37:46Yeah, especially the saucer. I.
- 37:46Just had a little snack and I was like, damn, now I'm hungry.
- 37:49It's funny. You have to alternate your pizza
- 37:50orders and. Peppers and pasta tonight for
- 37:53dinner. Oh well, you did.
- 37:54Yeah. I love sausage and Peppers.
- 37:58Not too late to order it on your 10 pizzas, John, I'm.
- 38:01Only a quarter Italian so I don't really know exactly what
- 38:03I'm doing, but I do a bunch of cool stuff.
- 38:05Oh I I have no idea. Like I had a.
- 38:08Bloody bacon in there, actually. Whoa, That's that's I was, I was
- 38:12going ham. I put like cheese.
- 38:13Baking in your sausage. No bacon.
- 38:17It's like a mix. And I threw like green beans in
- 38:19there. And I mean like a whole like
- 38:20kind of like a Italian cheesy stir fry kind of idea.
- 38:25And you're getting speedy, a little wet, you know it's
- 38:28getting. Wet.
- 38:28I didn't cover it in Alfredo sauce so you can't have it.
- 38:31Errol. I'll screw you.
- 38:32All right, fish, You're really starting.
- 38:35To. I almost did though.
- 38:36I thought it might go well with it, but I decided I think.
- 38:38It. Rusted.
- 38:43Did you go? Did you go onions too?
- 38:45Yeah, of course you have to. Onions smell my ass.
- 38:50Well I just want sausages and Peppers and people will be like
- 38:53no onion. I'm like onions give so much
- 38:55flavor and when they're I don't like raw onions which is weird
- 38:58but I like cooked onions. I'm the same way.
- 39:00You start with the cooked onions at the beginning of the cook
- 39:02like that's where you start. Yeah, Yum Yum the.
- 39:05OG start. Point Yeah, until they get
- 39:08translucent. That's what makes them Yum Yum.
- 39:11I know. I need a gin and tonic.
- 39:13What the hell is that? Where did that come drop?
- 39:19Did we get nothing to smoke from?
- 39:21Like smoke weed or something. Simpsons commitment.
- 39:25I was just going to say we have 711.
- 39:29Breaking news Goody has no Woody.
- 39:35And you know he when he. When all this stuff started
- 39:39happening, he refused to do that voice over.
- 39:44Again, that's true. Yes, it is.
- 39:46It's true. There's no lie to that.
- 39:48Anyways, ladies and gentlemen, we call this Let's Parlay.
- 40:00Time for let's parlay it's been a lot of yelling on this show,
- 40:05ladies and gentlemen, and one guy that doesn't like to yell he
- 40:09likes to hang out is he he's got to be in his car he's got to be
- 40:12somewhere unless he's like you're a little box what's going
- 40:16on over there you're a little box over there where is.
- 40:18Going, I have this dining room table like that just doesn't.
- 40:21It doesn't lie. It's on, but you wouldn't know
- 40:23it was on. So you're trying to keep it for
- 40:26like a night? You're celebrating something
- 40:27once. It's got his Easter decorations
- 40:29up still. What's that?
- 40:30Oh yeah. Who found the eggs?
- 40:33Speedy. Speedy, did you find your eggs?
- 40:36Did I find eggs? Yeah, eggs.
- 40:38No, I didn't find any. Eggs.
- 40:39You don't go egg hunting. I did as a kid.
- 40:42I. Haven't done it in a while.
- 40:42I mean, have you ever been smacked in the ass while you
- 40:45were looking for eggs? No, never done that, No.
- 40:48So you didn't have somebody like No with you behind you.
- 40:51How about absolutely, you know, ducking and trying to look for
- 40:53eggs in accidentally his face or it's face went in your ass.
- 40:57How about that? Never.
- 40:58No. OK, I I mean you had your dog
- 41:00lick your ass so. Again by accident.
- 41:02And it was. Not, I mean, nobody admits that
- 41:04they had a dog lick their ass, OK, except Speedy.
- 41:06So ladies and gentlemen, Speedy is one in a million.
- 41:09Ladies and gentlemen, if you don't know how this game works,
- 41:13it's very simple. We have Reno Johnny.
- 41:15He's going to give you his top 41 after the other and he's
- 41:18going to give you his picks and you can keep tabs or even make
- 41:22bets on his picks. So it's 4123 and his fourth will
- 41:27be his parlay. Are you ready, Reno, Johnny.
- 41:31Yeah, we're ready. We're ready.
- 41:33Let's go. We're going to start with the
- 41:36NBA, We're going to start and we're going to fade.
- 41:39The New York Knickerbockers catch a 2 1/2 from the Celtics.
- 41:44And I know if you're trying to bet this game, you know, Jason
- 41:48Tandem's out. We understand that.
- 41:50But if you look at the Celtics this year without Jason Tatum,
- 41:54including the playoff game, but they just won by 20.
- 41:56They're tended to, they've done really well without Jason Tatum.
- 42:00I was really worried about how they were going to respond.
- 42:03Jaylen Brown, to me, he's kind of been a guy haven't really
- 42:05been high on. He really responded well.
- 42:07He became a leader. He he, he's, he really believed.
- 42:11And look at him play. I think he believes they can win
- 42:12this series. I look at this, this Knicks
- 42:14team, they've been down by 20 points in all the one game they
- 42:18should have lost the 1st 2. They came back to miraculous
- 42:20fashion. But the the Knicks have not been
- 42:23the better team. It's it's a weird thing to say
- 42:25team that was a three one. They have not been the better
- 42:28team. And you look at this red too,
- 42:30it's almost begging for nick money, right?
- 42:33You don't have the best player on the court.
- 42:35Knicks are only -2 1/2 on their homecourt where they won game 4
- 42:39by dominant fashion. They won games one and two on
- 42:41the road. The spread just doesn't make a
- 42:44lot of sense. I'm going to take the plus 2 1/2
- 42:46sprinkle on the money line. I'm going to take the the
- 42:48Celtics to win that game outright, but I'll have to point
- 42:51to my back pocket. They've just been the better
- 42:53team with or without Jason Tatum.
- 42:54To me, I don't know if he's really it's going to sound weird
- 42:59talent wise, he's great. I'm not sure he's makes their
- 43:03team better that makes any sense.
- 43:05So I like the Celtics to win that game and get this pushes to
- 43:08a Game 7 and the New York Knicks deal with the New York Knicks
- 43:11too. They.
- 43:13You're a hater. You're an absolute hater.
- 43:16I I knew you were going to go that route.
- 43:18So, OK, give us your number 2. You know what it it?
- 43:21I don't really. I hate both.
- 43:22Teams. No.
- 43:23You're a Nick hater. You're a Nick hater.
- 43:25Anybody that listens to Reno Johnny at any point.
- 43:29Reno Johnny's been on this show for years.
- 43:32He hates the New York Knicks. He hates the Yankees.
- 43:35He hates any New York team. He hates them.
- 43:38No So. I'm cool with the Mets.
- 43:39No, you're cool with the Mets. That's right.
- 43:41Yeah, you're cool with the Mets because they're not in the same
- 43:44division as the Baltimore Orioles.
- 43:46Who apps absolutely sucked, by the way, And I was right about
- 43:48them. They suck.
- 43:50I told you. I told.
- 43:52You we're going to head to hockey and we're going to take
- 43:57the Florida Panthers -1.5 on the fuck right.
- 43:59This is a team that, look, they've also dominated this
- 44:02series. If you take away period one in
- 44:04game one and period 2IN Game 2, they've been the better team
- 44:08start to finish all game, all series long.
- 44:12This Florida Panthers team kind of they they let some games get
- 44:15away from them games 1:00 and 2:00, but they finally turned it
- 44:19on. They tied it up to 2.
- 44:21They got they they went up 6. Nothing on the road when the
- 44:25game 61. Now they're back on the home
- 44:28ice. They have a chance here to close
- 44:30it out. I don't think it's going to be
- 44:31closed. They've been the better team all
- 44:32series long. They put in more shots all
- 44:34series long and Burbosky's put up 58 straight saves.
- 44:37I'm not sure they're going to score many goals.
- 44:39Give me the Florida Panthers to win this and Toronto also does
- 44:43what they do in the playoffs and that is lose.
- 44:45Toronto loses. I want to stay it off.
- 44:47Any Canadian hockey fans out there when it was the last time
- 44:51I ever won a World Cup? I'm just going to win Panic
- 44:54Cups. Y'all fail in the playoffs.
- 44:56Florida Panthers get to the next round in dominant fashion.
- 45:00Toronto, go back, go eat your Maple syrup.
- 45:02Get out of the playoffs. It's a baseball.
- 45:05I like baseball. What are you?
- 45:06I like my pancakes. The last time, the last time in
- 45:08a full season a Canadian team went to the Cup was.
- 45:10Back somebody had all the. Protests after that, but so the
- 45:14only other one was that short season with the Canadians, but
- 45:16that was a fluke. So Vancouver was the last one in
- 45:1811, and the last one to win was 93.
- 45:24They, they just don't, you know, when you look at they just don't
- 45:27win. And it's kind of a weird thing.
- 45:29Hockey, hockey's the birth place, you know, in Canada, they
- 45:32just don't win. They haven't done well.
- 45:34So we're going to fade them. And if you look at the Series 2,
- 45:36Florida's been the better team. They just lost game 1:00 and
- 45:392:00, but they really have been the better team all series.
- 45:41Long Who's the last Canadian team to win a Stanley Cup?
- 45:45Canadians. Yes, that's correct. 93 Beat the
- 45:49Kings. Long time ago, baby.
- 45:51Yeah, long time ago. All right, give us your #3.
- 45:54And we're going to go to baseball, we're going to go to
- 45:56the team that has been absolutely terrible, and we're
- 46:02going to fade them. We're going to take the
- 46:03Washington Nationals. I'm an Orioles fan.
- 46:05Everybody knows I'm an Orioles fan.
- 46:07They suck to. One thing about they're
- 46:09terrible, but the one thing about the Orioles as I look at a
- 46:11team that going into the offseason had two glaring
- 46:15issues, starting pitching which we didn't address, and one thing
- 46:19that nobody really understands is our bullpen needed a massive
- 46:23overhaul. Our bullpen by metrics, by
- 46:26metrics we were over performing all standard metrics.
- 46:30If you look at the Oreos bullpen, they were consistently
- 46:32top ten in the last two years, but their metrics indicator
- 46:36regression was going to come and just never did.
- 46:38Dean Kramer for the last four years has been a good solid
- 46:41pitcher and every year progression was going to hit and
- 46:45it just never did. So we have two glaring issues
- 46:48and the Orioles did absolutely nothing to fix those issues.
- 46:51We don't have a bad line if we can hit.
- 46:53We have a bunch of guys hitting 250 plus some some home run
- 46:56power. We just don't have any pitching
- 46:57to support it. I actually like this National,
- 47:00so many they match up pretty well.
- 47:02You don't know what national team you're going to get.
- 47:03I have the bad luck with the nationals.
- 47:05Sometimes I feel like I bet on them and I get I get the the
- 47:08three years ago nationals team after they won this, after they
- 47:10won the World Series, they were terrible, but sometimes they can
- 47:13hit. They got a little pop in the top
- 47:15half a lineup. And I actually like Mackenzie
- 47:16Gore. Mackenzie Gore is one of those
- 47:18acquisitions they got in the Juan Soto deal that was kind of
- 47:21a young up and come pitcher with San Diego at the time.
- 47:23He's one of their guys in in this.
- 47:25And if you look at pitching from the metric standpoint, nationals
- 47:29way better. It's -110 odds again, you know
- 47:33me on the National, this could be the time they, they, they bat
- 47:36like the Yankees. So we're going to take them to,
- 47:39to, to win the game against my beloved Orioles.
- 47:42And then the other game we're going to go last game of the
- 47:44day. Give me the Reds getting plus
- 47:46money at home. I actually like this pitching
- 47:49match up a lot. Brady Singer got from the
- 47:50Royals. They they acquired him from the
- 47:52Royals in the offseason. He's been a real solid pitcher
- 47:55for them. He's got a solid ERA.
- 47:57His fifth is actually what's indicating some positive
- 47:59regression to me. Guardians really don't know how
- 48:03to read them. They're a team that I just
- 48:04cannot get a hold on. I just like this plus money
- 48:07slide plus money at home. So I'm going to take the Reds at
- 48:12plus money, parlay that with the Orioles, going to be my 2
- 48:16teamer, and then everything else you can kind of do whatever you
- 48:18want. My picks.
- 48:19That's kind of how I'm going to play my picks.
- 48:21And you never mentioned anything about the Yankees and the Mets,
- 48:23and thank God you didn't, because I don't want to get so
- 48:25angry at you. Then I have to just like hit the
- 48:27mute. He just wants a site for his bet
- 48:30for Kyrie Irving to be trade for the Lakers.
- 48:32I want to do a whopping. I want to do a.
- 48:35Whopping. I actually don't think Kyrie
- 48:37Irving will go to the Lakers. I think you.
- 48:38Got to put your tongue on something.
- 48:40I think people don't. I think people underestimate
- 48:44LeBron didn't get along with Kyrie to be honest.
- 48:47I think I think Kyrie at the time he was young guy.
- 48:50But look, he LeBron doesn't win that title without Kyrie A. 100%
- 48:54So Kyrie hasn't played, Kyrie hasn't been the same player
- 48:58without LeBron. I mean, they worked very, very
- 49:00well together. They did as a team, as teams.
- 49:03I. Disagree with that.
- 49:04I think Kyrie Irving is a baller no matter where he goes.
- 49:06He can put up points, he can dish the.
- 49:07Rock, let me ask you a question. Let me ask you a question.
- 49:09When was the last time Kyrie Irving won?
- 49:13OK, yeah, when you when you put him with.
- 49:14That's all. That's what you're playing the
- 49:16game for. You're playing a win.
- 49:18Right. And I get that, I get that, but
- 49:20I don't I don't think it was he needed, it could have been
- 49:22another big time. It didn't have to be LeBron,
- 49:25right? He wasn't the best player in
- 49:27that series. It was Kyrie Irving.
- 49:28But you look at all of Lebron's championships, really, who did
- 49:31he, who did he, who did he really be in his championships?
- 49:35Who did he beat? He did.
- 49:37Who, who? How did he win?
- 49:39He beat the Spurs, didn't he? Didn't He beat the Spurs?
- 49:41At 3:00. Two beat the Spurs, Tim dunking
- 49:45Kawhi Leonard, yet all those great players managed Ginobili.
- 49:49If, if, if Ray Allen doesn't hit that three, he's one and three
- 49:53in Miami. OK.
- 49:55And he actually stepped out too, by the way.
- 49:58And then 2020, great, he had a COVID, the COVID year.
- 50:01Who Who? Who hits the big shot last?
- 50:03Season. The fact.
- 50:07Is I can pinpoint. I can pinpoint a big Michael
- 50:10Jordan shot in the finals. First of all, you can't compare
- 50:13LeBron James to Michael Jordan. You can't compare Kobe Bryant to
- 50:17Michael Jordan. You can't compare any of those
- 50:19guys to Michael Jordan. That's why he's the greatest.
- 50:23No, you can't. Who?
- 50:26Kobe is not Michael Jordan. Stop this, stop this.
- 50:29Go home, stay home. Hide under the covers.
- 50:32Are you lost? Are you lost?
- 50:35He is a close nothing. He is a close nothing.
- 50:38Shaquille O'Neal was the best. Shaquille O'Neal was the best
- 50:42player on that roster for three years when they won back-to-back
- 50:45to back championships. Go look at he was.
- 50:48I hear that. I'm sorry, but the numbers
- 50:51actually tell me Kobe Bryant had better numbers than.
- 50:52Shaq, that's not true. He had more, he had more points
- 50:56per game. He played more minutes per game.
- 50:58He he did better in that series. Shaq just £300.
- 51:02What do you Shaq? First of all, Shaq played 38
- 51:05minutes a game, OK? And he knows a £300 monster, the
- 51:09Diesel, and he won the MVP back-to-back to back times.
- 51:13And if you look at the finals and remember the Finals, there's
- 51:15only two players in finals history to score 40 and have
- 51:19almost 20 rebounds in the in back in in back-to-back finals
- 51:23games in a series, and that was LeBron James and Shaquille
- 51:26O'Neal. You can look that up too.
- 51:28I could sell that too. You can roll it up you.
- 51:31Can sell whatever you you can sell whatever.
- 51:32Hey, listen, I'll roll up a Dutch for you and you can smoke
- 51:34it and get messed up on it. How's that?
- 51:37You can do that whatever you want.
- 51:38I'll, I'll. Yeah, I'll roll it for you.
- 51:40I'll lick it and then you can stick it as I always say.
- 51:44I will say who has more toddlers right now?
- 51:46Is it Kobe right over shaft? Yeah, yes, yeah.
- 51:50But one. And that's because he played
- 51:52with a hell of a team. I mean, his teams were pretty
- 51:55damn good when he won it over there with the Lakers.
- 51:57And by the way, when Shaq left, when Shaq left for two years,
- 52:01did Kobe ever win? Did Kobe ever win?
- 52:04Did Kobe ever win? What was the did he?
- 52:08I just don't believe that the Laker teams are that good.
- 52:10I don't hear you. I don't hear.
- 52:13You Let's see, what was he, 09? Yeah.
- 52:15Did he win? OK, that Pau Gasol, I give you
- 52:18that Pau Gasol. That's part of the big reason
- 52:20why they want Phil Jackson obviously comes in and coaches
- 52:23that team. But I'm looking at you're going
- 52:25to tell me that this is their team.
- 52:27Lamar Odom who good role player Sasa shot Sasha Luke Walton Meta
- 52:33World. Where do you rate Kobe Bryant of
- 52:36the greatest Lakers of all time? Where do you hold on Jordan?
- 52:40Where do you where do you rate Kobe Bryant of greatest Lakers?
- 52:44Before we let you go, I want to hear it.
- 52:47Where do you put? Where do you put Kobe?
- 52:49He in my in my. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
- 52:52Give me where you would put Kobe Bryant in the greatest Lakers of
- 52:55all time. OK well let me this is how I
- 52:58answer my question. In my opinion and the only
- 53:01reason I'm going to put him up top is because I never really
- 53:04saw magic and like players before him so I can't put match
- 53:08I never saw Magic. So like, for me, Kobe is the
- 53:11greatest Laker of all time because I, but I never, I, I
- 53:14will admittedly say I never really saw Magic Johnson play.
- 53:17That's beyond my time. You forget a Kareem of duel
- 53:19Jabbar. He was pretty damn good.
- 53:22I never saw him play. It doesn't matter if you've seen
- 53:24a play you you know what he did? How about Jerry West?
- 53:29Was he bad? Was he a bad player?
- 53:31But. It's it's also like when you're
- 53:33looking at Grace players, I look at what's Will Chamberlain like.
- 53:37Will Chamberlain was great for sure.
- 53:39As a player I thought he was fantastic, but when you're a
- 53:43foot and a half older, I mean taller than anybody else, I
- 53:47would I'd put up 100 too. Like it's, it's, it's, it's kind
- 53:51of different. I don't think it's any
- 53:52different. And I'm taking and I'm taking
- 53:56Shaq over Kobe Bryant, so I'm taking Shaq.
- 54:00But that wouldn't, that wouldn't, that wouldn't even
- 54:01make. Sense why?
- 54:02Why does it make sense? I take LeBron James over Kobe
- 54:05Bryant too, but not not on the Lakers.
- 54:07Not on the Lakers. I have, I have Kobe because
- 54:10Lebron's only won one title. So I'm going to give Kobe
- 54:13because he was there. So I I'm going to but best
- 54:16players of all time playing for the Lakers, I'm taking LeBron
- 54:19over Kobe. Greatest player Greatest
- 54:23players. Weed.
- 54:24Weed is legal in New York though, right?
- 54:27Oh yeah, we have a caller that loves to smoke weed.
- 54:29Yeah, I, I, I figured man, I, I. I'm not smoking.
- 54:33You're going to tell me. You're going to tell me Lebron's
- 54:36not better than Kobe Bryant. No.
- 54:38You're goodbye. I I know look, look, I think for
- 54:42me, no, I think for me that's not fair to say because you're I
- 54:45look at a player that's a killer, that's a killer instinct
- 54:49come on and then. Game.
- 54:50Are you? Are you serious?
- 54:52Are you serious? Stop.
- 54:55LeBron James doesn't take big shots.
- 54:56Stop. How you heard he took it for?
- 54:58Him. Did Kobe go eight years in a row
- 55:01to a Finals? Did Kobe Bryant ever go eight
- 55:04years in a row to the Finals? Can I?
- 55:07Did he? Can I?
- 55:08Yes or no? You know what?
- 55:09Yes or no? He played it.
- 55:11He played the East. Oh stop this, Oh stop this.
- 55:16He played with Shaquille O'Neal and Phil Jackson as his head
- 55:20coach. In the West, and that was in
- 55:242020. Who coached LeBron James?
- 55:26Who coached Give me? Give me the greatest coaches.
- 55:28You remember that, coach LeBron James?
- 55:31LeBron, LeBron don't need a coach, right?
- 55:33He and Kobe and Kobe had Phil Jackson, a guy that won how many
- 55:38championships? Come on.
- 55:40Because Kobe's a likable guy. He got along.
- 55:42With He was a likable person, huh?
- 55:44He was like, why don't you ask Shaq if he was a likable person?
- 55:48The thing is, fucking LeBron James would have would have had
- 55:51Phil Jackson fired that. That's what I do know.
- 55:54I think as soon as there's a little bump in the road, here
- 55:58comes Kobe. We need help.
- 55:59We need help. It's the coach's fault how many
- 56:01coaches he goes to because. If LeBron James was with the
- 56:05Knicks and when he went to the Knicks, he would have came out
- 56:08of retirement to coach LeBron James, and that's a fact, OK?
- 56:12That's the only reason why Phil Jackson never coached the
- 56:14Knicks, because there was nobody to coach on that roster besides
- 56:17Carmelo Anthony, who he couldn't stand.
- 56:20OK, so those are the facts, buddy.
- 56:22And you can take that and Jack it right up, pop it in that
- 56:26mouth videos it's. Nice to tell you this is that
- 56:28Kobe Bryant can work with his coaches and LeBron James the.
- 56:32Only reason why coaches can work with Kobe because he was a hard
- 56:36ass worker. That's it.
- 56:38They loved his his effort on on pushing himself to the limit.
- 56:42But guess what LeBron James is the same way.
- 56:45LeBron James is in the gym in the morning, 5:00 in the morning
- 56:48working out and doing his thing. Why do you think LeBron James is
- 56:5140 something years old and still putting up the numbers he's
- 56:53putting up? Why do you think it's magical?
- 56:57You think it's a magic? It's a magic show because.
- 56:59He's abracadabra. 2 years the last two years.
- 57:02You can't sit there and tell me last two years that LeBron James
- 57:04actually gave a shit about winning.
- 57:07He didn't give shit about when he was.
- 57:08No, no, he did not. He's STAB padded and he played
- 57:11in the NBA so he can play with his son.
- 57:13That doesn't deserve being in the NBA.
- 57:14That's the only. Person.
- 57:15He's in my hand right here. Because he does not need to.
- 57:17Be see this you know. He doesn't.
- 57:18He does not care about women. If I can get this jammed up of
- 57:22Kobe Bryant's ass and started talking like you do to him, I
- 57:27mean, I'd be a rock star. Give me a break.
- 57:30You're in love with this guy, and I love Kobe as a.
- 57:33Person you're down 31 laughing LeBron.
- 57:37That's that's that's when you know LeBron James, he doesn't
- 57:39really care about winning right now.
- 57:41I don't fault. Him, I never said first of all.
- 57:44He's probably going to own the Vegas team when they go to
- 57:47Vegas. Yeah, he probably, he's probably
- 57:48going to be the owner. He owns the NBA, but he.
- 57:50Doesn't care about winning, he. Owns the NBA LeBron James
- 57:53Association. I keep telling you this.
- 57:56He owns the league. He owns everything he owns.
- 57:58Everything. He owns the league, buddy.
- 58:02He owns everything. It is LJA.
- 58:05It should just be changed. And you know, you know, the logo
- 58:08should be it should be. It should transfer from Jerry
- 58:11West to LeBron James. That's it.
- 58:13Because that's what it. Is exactly, exactly, exactly.
- 58:18There you go. You can sell it, you can bench
- 58:21it, and you can tie it up real good and state it and, you know,
- 58:25stick it up, straight up. Speedy's Candy S What do you
- 58:27think about that? My ass had candy, why would you
- 58:30want to stick anything up? Anyways, Reno, Johnny, we love
- 58:33you. Keep arguing, keep loving Kobe
- 58:35and may he rest in peace. I'm not taking shots at him as a
- 58:38as a person. I just think a lot of Kobe fans
- 58:41overrate him as one of the top five greatest.
- 58:44I disagree. Five times you overrated.
- 58:48Yeah, that's crazy. That's crazy.
- 58:50That's crazy work. Well, good, good.
- 58:52I am crazy. That's why I'm.
- 58:54I am who I am. So thank you, Reno.
- 58:56We love you, please, whatever. I know I love you, I love y'all,
- 59:00I love y'all, but just the Kobe. Slander.
- 59:02Listen, take, take those eggs and stick it straight up.
- 59:05Speedy's candy. Yes.
- 59:06All right, let's go. What's we gotta go?
- 59:08He's five and one in the finals. Who?
- 59:11Who? Kobe's five and one in the
- 59:12Finals. Yes, his only loss was the
- 59:14Celtics the year before. Yeah, it's.
- 59:16Crazy. He also had Shaquille O'Neal and
- 59:18Phil Jackson. Yeah.
- 59:20Crazy. Yeah, you get stopped.
- 59:23Dwyane Wade, Bosch, Kyrie, one of the greatest shooters of all
- 59:27time in Ray Allen, LeBron James purposely stacked his teams.
- 59:31Yeah, yeah, yeah. It's LJI.
- 59:34We love you. Thank you.
- 59:35You know, Johnny, have him every single week.
- 59:38He's saluting. I'm going to salute his shorts.
- 59:42He's out of his damn mind. All right, ladies and gentlemen,

- 1:02:00new guests and new content. Enjoy Friday's game.
- 1:02:04Hopefully the Knicks end the suffering of the Celtics and
- 1:02:08suffering for us as fans. I don't want to see them go to a
- 1:02:11Game 7 and I watch out. Pacers, OK, watch them out
- 1:02:16anyways, and the Nuggets 3/3 as we expected, it's going 7, so
- 1:02:21we'll see what happens over the weekend.
- 1:02:23That would be Saturday for the Nuggets and the OKC Thunder.
- 1:02:27So. So there's two more series left,
- 1:02:32one of them that's three to two and the other one's three to
- 1:02:34three. So we'll see what happens over
- 1:02:35the weekend. That's it.
